Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Ted Cruz Weekend Review, Ben
- 0:03Speaker 1: Ferguson with you and hear the big stories that we
- 0:05Speaker 1: talked about this week that you may have missed. First up,
- 0:09Speaker 1: Democrats are going all in on the idea of the
- 0:12Speaker 1: attacks in Iran becoming an endless war. Will break down
- 0:16Speaker 1: exactly why that's not true and it's not going to happen. Also,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Tucker Carlson and the woke right well, they're isolationists, and
- 0:26Speaker 1: we explain why this undermines President Trump and also America
- 0:30Speaker 1: First policies and helps our enemies. And finally, what's next
- 0:34Speaker 1: after the terrorist attacks that we've already had here in
- 0:37Speaker 1: the US. So many Americans are so concerned right now
- 0:40Speaker 1: as they should be and want to feel safe. We
- 0:43Speaker 1: break it down for you. It's the weekend Review and
- 0:46Speaker 1: it starts right now. The President's been pretty clear about this.
- 0:49Speaker 1: This is going to be short term increase. Democrats do
- 0:52Speaker 1: seem to be latching onto this. Like remember when egg
- 0:54Speaker 1: prices is like a big thing in the put of world. Yep,
- 0:57Speaker 1: this is the new egg pricing right. Oh my god,
- 1:00Speaker 1: Stald Trump say's my lower price to the pump for you?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Look at it now, look how bad it is now,
- 1:03Speaker 1: it's going to be you know, ten hours a gallon
- 1:05Speaker 1: in California, it's gonna be five six hours gallon everywhere else.
- 1:08Speaker 1: The presents come out and says it's going to be
- 1:10Speaker 1: short term. I believe him. I think also seeing how
- 1:13Speaker 1: hard we're hitting a RAN right now is also showing
- 1:16Speaker 1: the timeline here that they are wanting to do everything
- 1:19Speaker 1: as fast as they can. Why drag this out, go
- 1:22Speaker 1: all in, do it quickly, get the pain over with
- 1:26Speaker 1: and let those people hopefully rise up and take over
- 1:28Speaker 1: a RAN and actually move forward. Are you that worried
- 1:32Speaker 1: about about the gas prices? I'm not yet. Like if
- 1:36Speaker 1: it's three months from now or two months from now,
- 1:38Speaker 1: I'm going to be more worried. But right now I
- 1:39Speaker 1: feel like this is exactly on schedule or ahead of schedule,
- 1:43Speaker 1: as the White House has described it.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Yeah. So, look, there's been a short term increase in
- 1:47Speaker 2: gas prices, and anytime there's a military conflict in the
- 1:50Speaker 2: Middle East, gas prices go up because a lot of
- 1:54Speaker 2: oil comes for the Middle East, and so military conflict
- 1:58Speaker 2: has an effect on supplying demand. I think this will
- 2:01Speaker 2: be short term. One of the things to remember is
- 2:04Speaker 2: so six months ago, gas prices were about I don't
- 2:09Speaker 2: have the exact number off the top of my head,
- 2:11Speaker 2: but about two dollars and fifty cents a gallon. They've
- 2:14Speaker 2: risen about a dollar. They're about three dollars and fifty
- 2:17Speaker 2: cents a gallon. This is national averages, And so it
- 2:20Speaker 2: is true that over the last six months gasoline prices
- 2:24Speaker 2: have risen. Where were they eighteen months ago under Joe
- 2:28Speaker 2: Biden there were nearly six dollars a gallon, So by
- 2:31Speaker 2: any measure, they're was massively cheaper than Joe Biden. Yes,
- 2:36Speaker 2: they've gone up from about two fifty to about three fifty.
- 2:39Speaker 2: But I think this is a short term increase. And
- 2:42Speaker 2: I got to say, if and when the Iranian regime collapses,
- 2:46Speaker 2: and by the way, we've utterly degraded their military and
- 2:49Speaker 2: we've taken out the itolin the senior military leadership, if
- 2:52Speaker 2: and when we have a government in Iran that is
- 2:56Speaker 2: not a radical theocratic Islamist government who wants to murder America,
- 3:01Speaker 2: who is funding terrorists all across the world, who is
- 3:04Speaker 2: actively trying to murder Americans every single day, if we
- 3:07Speaker 2: have just a normal government, I don't really care who
- 3:10Speaker 2: we have, just as long as it's not a crazy
- 3:11Speaker 2: person killing Americans. The effect on global gas prices will
- 3:17Speaker 2: be to lower them significantly. So I actually think this conflict,
- 3:20Speaker 2: in the long term or even the medium term, will
- 3:23Speaker 2: have a substantial downward pressure on gasoline prices. There's a
- 3:26Speaker 2: short period where prices have spiked somewhat, although to be clear,
- 3:30Speaker 2: they're much much lower than under Biden, but they are
- 3:34Speaker 2: higher than they were six months ago under Trump. Look,
- 3:37Speaker 2: I think the Democrats are attacking gas prices because they
- 3:40Speaker 2: hate Trump, and they're just everything Trump does is wrong.
- 3:45Speaker 2: This is an incredibly important decision that Trump has made
- 3:51Speaker 2: for advancing US national security. And I will say part
- 3:54Speaker 2: of the reason why, when like I was being questioned
- 3:56Speaker 2: on Lindsey Graham, I like lindsay, as I said, I
- 4:00Speaker 2: agree with them sometimes, I disagree with them sometimes. But
- 4:02Speaker 2: what the questioning really was about is isn't the Iran
- 4:06Speaker 2: War about Israel? Isn't this all about Israel? And the
- 4:09Speaker 2: suggestion was Israel or as a puppet master controlling Donald Trump.
- 4:14Speaker 2: That's just a blatant lie. This military conflict has very
- 4:19Speaker 2: little to do with Israel. The reason President Trump decided
- 4:23Speaker 2: to attack Iran is because Iran has been waging war
- 4:26Speaker 2: with America for forty seven years and they've killed nearly
- 4:29Speaker 2: a thousand Americans, and they're the leading state sponsor of
- 4:32Speaker 2: terrorism the world. And so the people trying to say
- 4:37Speaker 2: I don't want another war for Israel, I don't want
- 4:40Speaker 2: my children to die for the Jews, that is that
- 4:46Speaker 2: is not honest, because we're doing this because the regime
- 4:51Speaker 2: in Iran is killing Americans. And to be clear, if
- 4:54Speaker 2: they had the capacity, if they had nuclear weapons, they
- 4:58Speaker 2: would kill many, many more Americans. If they could, they
- 5:02Speaker 2: would kill you and me right now, Ben, if they could,
- 5:05Speaker 2: every listener of this podcast, they would kill If they
- 5:08Speaker 2: had a nuclear weapon, I believe there is a real
- 5:10Speaker 2: possibility they would detonate it in the skies of Tel
- 5:13Speaker 2: Aviv or New York or Los Angeles. And I'm not
- 5:16Speaker 2: interested in seeing a day where hundreds of thousands of
- 5:20Speaker 2: Americans are murdered by an iotola channing death to America.
- 5:24Speaker 2: That's why President Trump acted. But it was not about Israel.
- 5:28Speaker 2: It was about America, and I think we need to
- 5:30Speaker 2: be very very clear about that.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I also think one of the other things that I
- 5:34Speaker 1: think is really frustrating is just seeing how many people
- 5:36Speaker 1: act as if somehow Donald Trump was hoodwinked by Israel
- 5:40Speaker 1: for US to get involved in this war. Yeah, and
- 5:42Speaker 1: you were asked about that. I was asked about as
- 5:44Speaker 1: well on TV, and I said, that is the biggest
- 5:47Speaker 1: load of crap I've heard in a long time. President
- 5:49Speaker 1: Trump isn't hoodwink by anybody. President Trump isn't walked around
- 5:52Speaker 1: by anyone. And if you've ever been around him, you
- 5:55Speaker 1: know that. I think it goes back to what you
- 5:57Speaker 1: just said. The President understood the nationalists scurity risks not
- 6:01Speaker 1: to Israel. All right there, This is America first, correct,
- 6:04Speaker 1: it's America and the national security threat to America and
- 6:08Speaker 1: clear the fact that they're trying to kill and have
- 6:10Speaker 1: sent people and train people and pay people to try
- 6:12Speaker 1: to kill the President of the United States of America.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Also people in the last administration. John Bolton, for example,
- 6:17Speaker 1: was one of those. There's several others on this list
- 6:20Speaker 1: that have actually have been they've had hits out all
- 6:22Speaker 1: Obrian Hook Yes, exactly. So you go with the list here.
- 6:27Speaker 1: The President was clear about this that this is about America.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And I think that's another example when I said there's
- 6:34Speaker 1: like four or five working theories Democrats throw on jel
- 6:36Speaker 1: at a wall saying does any of this fit with Americans?
- 6:39Speaker 1: I also think it's very interesting and final thing to you,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I don't think the American people are buying this. And
- 6:45Speaker 1: part of it's because I think Democrats have just said
- 6:47Speaker 1: some of those orlandis and crazy things on every issue,
- 6:51Speaker 1: tried to hurt Donald Trump. Now it's becoming a little
- 6:53Speaker 1: bit more of white noise, and that's that. I'm thankful
- 6:56Speaker 1: for that, to be honest with you.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I think that's right. And look, some of
- 7:00Speaker 2: the reaction of the voters will depend on how this
- 7:03Speaker 2: plays out. If this military conflict lasts many months or years,
- 7:09Speaker 2: if we're sitting here a year from now and still
- 7:11Speaker 2: mired to military conflict, if we've got a massive troop
- 7:15Speaker 2: presence on the ground, if we have hundreds or thousands
- 7:17Speaker 2: of American soldiers being killed, this war will be very unpopular.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I think the chances of that happening are very very
- 7:26Speaker 2: close to zero percent. Iran is not a RAQ. We're
- 7:32Speaker 2: not going to see a massive troop presence on the ground.
- 7:36Speaker 2: We're not going to see an extended military occupation. Actually,
- 7:38Speaker 2: I want you to listen to Pete hegg Seth making
- 7:41Speaker 2: this point, and we're going to wrap up on this. Listen,
- 7:43Speaker 2: listen to the Secretary of War, Pete hegg Seth.
- 7:47Speaker 3: You see, this is not two thousand and three. This
- 7:50Speaker 3: is not endless nation building under those types of quagmires
- 7:55Speaker 3: we saw under Bush or Obama. It's not even close.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Our generation of soldier will not let that happen again,
- 8:03Speaker 3: and nor will this president, who very clearly ran against
- 8:08Speaker 3: those kinds of never ending, nebulously scoped missions. Those days
- 8:13Speaker 3: are dead. Instead, we're winning decisively with brutal efficiency, total
- 8:19Speaker 3: air dominance, and an unbreakable will to accomplish the President's
- 8:24Speaker 3: objectives on our timeline. We stay locked on the target
- 8:30Speaker 3: because here at the Department of War, that's our job.
- 8:33Speaker 1: You listen to Pete there. This is one of the
- 8:34Speaker 1: reasons why I actually think it was a blessing that
- 8:36Speaker 1: he was named and made it through confirmation.
- 8:38Speaker 2: He's a guy, he's a combat veteran who's been in
- 8:42Speaker 2: harm's way.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a guy that I think is genuinely
- 8:45Speaker 1: in the room advocating to make sure that what happened
- 8:48Speaker 1: to a lot of his colleagues when he was serving
- 8:51Speaker 1: in uniform and deployed. That doesn't happen to this group
- 8:55Speaker 1: of soldiers now. And it's clear that this is personal
- 8:58Speaker 1: for him. I'm so thankful that he's there in this
- 9:01Speaker 1: position because he lived the other side of it that
- 9:04Speaker 1: he was just describing.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Right. Look, avoiding endless wars does not mean embracing isolationism. Yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 2: peace through strength is what Reagan called it. Donald Trump
- 9:16Speaker 2: just understands it as being a strong commander in chief
- 9:19Speaker 2: that when people are killing Americans, he is going to
- 9:22Speaker 2: respond vigorously to take them out. And by the way,
- 9:25Speaker 2: our enemies are terrified. As I've said before, at three
- 9:30Speaker 2: am on January third, there was not a Latin American
- 9:34Speaker 2: dictator who didn't have to change his shorts because that's
- 9:37Speaker 2: when President Trump sees Nicholas Maduro, what is happening in Iran.
- 9:42Speaker 2: The top leadership has been taken out. Every bad guy,
- 9:45Speaker 2: every person who hates America is really really worried right
- 9:48Speaker 2: now because this is a nation that defends itself. And
- 9:51Speaker 2: by the way, that makes clear, if you kill Americans,
- 9:54Speaker 2: there are going to be massive consequences to it. Barack
- 9:59Speaker 2: Obama and Joe Iden's weakness and appeasement that if you
- 10:02Speaker 2: kill Americans, oh well, we're not going to do anything
- 10:04Speaker 2: about it. That invites more people to target and kill Americans.
- 10:08Speaker 2: This is about avoiding war by being strong enough to
- 10:12Speaker 2: take out the people that are killing Americans, and that
- 10:16Speaker 2: avoids protracted military conflict. I think that's what we're seeing
- 10:20Speaker 2: right now, and it makes America a whole lot safer.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 10:25Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 10:28Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two.
- 10:32Speaker 2: The Democrats and the press are trying to undermine President Trump.
- 10:37Speaker 2: They're trying to undermine the US military, and they're trying
- 10:40Speaker 2: to bolster Iran and the iatolas. Do you know who
- 10:44Speaker 2: else is doing that? Who else? Tucker Carlson and the
- 10:49Speaker 2: rest of the so called woke right. There's a group
- 10:52Speaker 2: of isolationists folks on the right. It is a small group,
- 10:56Speaker 2: but they are loud and vocal, and Tucker Carlson has
- 10:59Speaker 2: now all but declared war on President Trump's foreign policy.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I want you to listen to Tucker Carlson in his
- 11:05Speaker 2: latest show. I'm going to warn you what he says,
- 11:08Speaker 2: here is shocking, and it is to the left of
- 11:11Speaker 2: Chris Murphy. So it is more anti Donald Trump than
- 11:15Speaker 2: Chris Murphy and the Democrats. Listen to Tucker Carlson.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife
- 11:21Speaker 4: and daughter if they want. And everyone knows that, and
- 11:24Speaker 4: that has been If there's one consistent lesson of history,
- 11:27Speaker 4: it means unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape
- 11:32Speaker 4: your wife and daughter. Everyone can feel that. That's like
- 11:36Speaker 4: the most atavistic instinct there is. And so to avoid that,
- 11:39Speaker 4: people will do anything. And so that's why it requires
- 11:43Speaker 4: that level of force to get a population subdued to
- 11:47Speaker 4: the point of unconditional surrender. That's why. And so in
- 11:50Speaker 4: this case, of course, we don't have the ground force necessary.
- 11:54Speaker 4: I don't think Americans would voluntarily participate in it. I
- 11:57Speaker 4: just don't think we can do that. It would require
- 11:59Speaker 4: weapons semesterice struction. It would require presumably nuclear weapons in
- 12:03Speaker 4: order to do that. And let's stop, let's not lie
- 12:05Speaker 4: to ourselves. We're moving toward that.
- 12:08Speaker 1: You hear Tucker there, and I mean you want to
- 12:11Speaker 1: talk about on hinge that is like some of the
- 12:12Speaker 1: most anti American propaganda I've ever seen spewed by someone
- 12:17Speaker 1: like Tucker Carlson. It is a new low even for him.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And that and the bar keeps dropping day after day.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Look the phrase, the words someone like Tucker Carlson, you
- 12:27Speaker 2: don't even have to put that constraint. That is more
- 12:30Speaker 2: anti American rhetoric than anything I've ever heard Bernie Sanders say,
- 12:33Speaker 2: or even Chris Murphy what he said there. Listen, Tucker
- 12:37Speaker 2: continues to go to new lows and new lows, and
- 12:39Speaker 2: part of it is President Trump this week said that
- 12:42Speaker 2: that Tucker Carlson is quote, not maga and not smart.
- 12:46Speaker 2: The more Tucker Carlson attacks Donald Trump, the more fringe
- 12:49Speaker 2: he gets. And so I think this was Tucker acting
- 12:51Speaker 2: out when when Trump said what was obviously true, but
- 12:55Speaker 2: Tucker just said, go back, rewind and listen to what
- 12:58Speaker 2: he just said. He said, number one, if Iran surrenders,
- 13:03Speaker 2: that American soldiers are going to rape their wives and daughters,
- 13:07Speaker 2: and in fact he said it twice. What utter and
- 13:10Speaker 2: complete garbage, you America hating Islamist fluffer. I gotta say
- 13:16Speaker 2: that makes me mad. I think of the servicemen and
- 13:19Speaker 2: men who in women. But the men in particular, who
- 13:22Speaker 2: are risking their lives. And Tucker Carlson's standing there saying,
- 13:26Speaker 2: if you surrender to America, American soldiers are gonna rape
- 13:30Speaker 2: your women. We have never done that. That is not
- 13:33Speaker 2: something America does, No, Tucker, American soldiers are not gonna
- 13:38Speaker 2: rape Iranian women. You know who rapes the people they conquer?
- 13:41Speaker 2: Iranians do? Islamists do? That is in fact part of
- 13:45Speaker 2: what they do. Part of what they do is is
- 13:48Speaker 2: is that they rape women as a means of subjugation.
- 13:51Speaker 2: But Tucker's not going to tell you that because Tucker
- 13:53Speaker 2: is now one of the leading proponents of sharia law
- 13:56Speaker 2: in the United States. He's literally an apologist for Islam.
- 14:00Speaker 2: And so now you might say, wow, that statement seems incredible,
- 14:04Speaker 2: it seems extreme. Here a couple of data points. Number One,
- 14:07Speaker 2: during this war, the Iranian National Television is playing Tucker
- 14:12Speaker 2: Carlson's show in Iran. They view that as such valuable
- 14:16Speaker 2: propaganda they want the Iranian people to hear Tucker. Number Two,
- 14:19Speaker 2: the Muslim Brotherhood, by the way, Hamas is the Muslim
- 14:23Speaker 2: brotherhood in Palestine, and they are terrorists are tweeting out
- 14:27Speaker 2: Tucker Carlson's show. The Muslim Brotherhood has said, this is
- 14:30Speaker 2: our spokesman. Man, this guy is good. I cannot recall
- 14:35Speaker 2: another major political figure on left or right who has said,
- 14:39Speaker 2: if you surrender to America, American soldiers will rape your women.
- 14:43Speaker 2: That's what Tucker Carlson just said. That is grotesque. And
- 14:46Speaker 2: by the way, any soldier who sees Tucker Carlson I
- 14:49Speaker 2: ought to say, how dare you say that? American soldiers
- 14:52Speaker 2: know we would not and impugning our troops is disgusting.
- 14:56Speaker 2: And the second thing that Tucker said in that clip
- 15:00Speaker 2: is that Donald Trump is moving towards using a nuclear
- 15:03Speaker 2: weapon in Iran. No, he's not, Tucker. That is a
- 15:06Speaker 2: complete nutter lie. That is false. We are not going
- 15:09Speaker 2: to nuke Iran. It is only deranged. That's the sort
- 15:13Speaker 2: of thing the Ayatola would say. And you've got to
- 15:15Speaker 2: ask yourself. Look, some of you may think back to
- 15:18Speaker 2: when Tucker was on Fox News and he was actually
- 15:21Speaker 2: said a lot of things you and I love that
- 15:23Speaker 2: made a lot of sense. This guy today is just
- 15:26Speaker 2: a kook. And even worse than that, he is the
- 15:30Speaker 2: most prominent purveyor of Islamists lies about America. And about
- 15:35Speaker 2: Donald Trump. Tucker Carlson has gone full out to war
- 15:40Speaker 2: with Donald Trump's national security and foreign policy. And it
- 15:43Speaker 2: is he and Chris Murphy are now that they are
- 15:47Speaker 2: comrades in arms. He and Chris Tucker Carlson and Chris
- 15:50Speaker 2: Murphy and Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and Ilhan Omar
- 15:54Speaker 2: and AOC. They all have the exact same foreign policy
- 15:59Speaker 2: and it is anti American and it is pro Islamist
- 16:02Speaker 2: and it's dangerous as hell.
- 16:03Speaker 1: We've got some breaking news as we are recording this
- 16:06Speaker 1: on Sunday. They have now named a new leader in Iran.
- 16:09Speaker 1: It is the son of the former leader there. That
- 16:12Speaker 1: is someone that the presidents said is unacceptable. Your reaction
- 16:16Speaker 1: to that as well.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Well, look, it's not surprising. The Malas are going to
- 16:19Speaker 2: get together and they're going to want another Mala to
- 16:22Speaker 2: be the Ayatola, and they want the country to continue
- 16:25Speaker 2: to be run by Islamist clerics who embrace a death cult.
- 16:32Speaker 2: And it's interesting. One of the things I'm going back
- 16:34Speaker 2: to Chris Murphy and what he said a minute ago.
- 16:38Speaker 2: You know, we rely on deterrence to stop the most
- 16:43Speaker 2: egregious acts of harm. Deterrence works with many countries because
- 16:49Speaker 2: you have rational actors. Let's take for example, North Korea.
- 16:54Speaker 2: So North Korea is an exceptionally dangerous part of the world.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Why does North Korea have nukes? Well, it goes back
- 17:00Speaker 2: to a previous Democrat president, Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton sent
- 17:06Speaker 2: a State Department of employee named Wendy Sherman to negotiate
- 17:11Speaker 2: a nuclear agreement with Kim Jong il, who was the
- 17:16Speaker 2: father of the current dictator Kim Jongun. And the deal
- 17:20Speaker 2: they cut is that Bill Clinton agreed to send billions
- 17:24Speaker 2: of dollars to North Korea and in exchange for that money,
- 17:27Speaker 2: North Korea would promise not to develop nuclear weapons. Well
- 17:31Speaker 2: what happened. We now know what happened. They took the
- 17:33Speaker 2: billions of dollars, they used it to develop nuclear weapons,
- 17:36Speaker 2: and today North Korea has nuclear weapons. So it was
- 17:38Speaker 2: a spectacular failure. Fast forward to Barack Obama. Barack Obama
- 17:43Speaker 2: comes into office and he decides his signature foreign policy moves.
- 17:47Speaker 2: He wants to negotiate an agreement with Iran on nuclear weapons.
- 17:51Speaker 2: So what does he do. He actually goes and recruits
- 17:53Speaker 2: the same damn person, Wendy Sherman, to negotiate his Iran deal. Literally,
- 17:58Speaker 2: there are eight billion people on play at Earth been
- 18:01Speaker 2: there is one out of eight billion who has screwed
- 18:04Speaker 2: this up previously, as negotiated a deal to send billions
- 18:07Speaker 2: of dollars to a foreign dictator, and it's resulted in
- 18:10Speaker 2: that dictator using the billions of dollars to develop nuclear weapons.
- 18:13Speaker 2: That would be Wendy Sherman. That's who Obama brought in
- 18:15Speaker 2: and said, hey, can you do the same for us?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Now we live with the failures of the Clinton administration
- 18:22Speaker 2: and Wendy Sherman with North Korea and Kim Jong un
- 18:26Speaker 2: is a dictator, he's megalomaniacal, he's dangerous as hell. He
- 18:31Speaker 2: is testing ICBMs, he is targeted explicitly target US citizens,
- 18:35Speaker 2: including Austin, Texas. He is a city that he has
- 18:38Speaker 2: said he's targeted before. However, our best protection is Kim
- 18:42Speaker 2: Jong un knows if he ever used a nuclear weapon,
- 18:45Speaker 2: the result would be massive, overwhelming retaliation and his regime
- 18:49Speaker 2: would lose power that day. It would be the end
- 18:52Speaker 2: of his life.
- 18:52Speaker 4: If he did that.
- 18:54Speaker 2: As dangerous as Kim Jong un is, at least there's
- 18:59Speaker 2: some possible ability of rational self deterrence. Here's what makes
- 19:03Speaker 2: Iran orders a magnitude more dangerous when you're dealing with
- 19:07Speaker 2: religious extremism. When you're dealing with theocratic zealots who are
- 19:13Speaker 2: in a death cult, who glorify death and suicide, rational
- 19:18Speaker 2: deterrence doesn't work the same way. So, for example, if
- 19:21Speaker 2: the Iotola detonated and nuclear weapons, say in Tel Aviv,
- 19:26Speaker 2: or in New York or Los Angeles, and let me
- 19:28Speaker 2: be clear, I believe if the Iotola could do so,
- 19:30Speaker 2: he would have done so already. The response would be
- 19:33Speaker 2: overwhelming and devastating. But the problem is when you celebrate
- 19:37Speaker 2: death and suicide, that normal cost benefit analysis does not apply.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And so yes, they've named a new Iotola. The Iotola
- 19:46Speaker 2: is what the son of the old Iotola? Okay, great,
- 19:50Speaker 2: that is not acceptable because President Trump has rightly made
- 19:54Speaker 2: the decision We're not going to allow US national security
- 19:58Speaker 2: to be vulnerable to religious zeal who are funding terrorism,
- 20:04Speaker 2: who are funding who are the number one funders of
- 20:08Speaker 2: terrorisms worldwide and have been for forty seven years. So
- 20:12Speaker 2: I total number one. Skippy Junior is not going to
- 20:16Speaker 2: get to take over either, because allowing Iran to wage
- 20:21Speaker 2: war and murder Americans is not consistent with US national
- 20:24Speaker 2: security as before.
- 20:26Speaker 1: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
- 20:28Speaker 1: on this topic, you can go back and now the
- 20:31Speaker 1: podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I want to get back to the big story number
- 20:37Speaker 1: three of the week you may have missed Sanat. I
- 20:39Speaker 1: want to go back to the overall conversation here with
- 20:42Speaker 1: these tears attacks. It is depressing. I think there's a
- 20:45Speaker 1: lot of Americans that are very concerned about it, and
- 20:48Speaker 1: that is something that I think so many Americans they
- 20:51Speaker 1: want to feel safe and secure. The Department of Homeland
- 20:54Speaker 1: Security not being funded and these four chears attacks in
- 20:58Speaker 1: a normal world with a normal would be front page
- 21:01Speaker 1: news and they'd be running up and they'd be sticking
- 21:04Speaker 1: a microphone in front of the face of the people
- 21:06Speaker 1: that voted no to funding DHS. I go back to
- 21:10Speaker 1: the media when they were obsessed with the price of eggs, remember,
- 21:13Speaker 1: and they were trying to say that it was somehow
- 21:15Speaker 1: Donald Trump's fault that the egg prices were high. They
- 21:18Speaker 1: went like twenty four to seven coverage on that over eggs.
- 21:22Speaker 1: But on this issue, they're completely gone from covering it
- 21:27Speaker 1: and holding accountable. The Democratic leadership, Like, how are you
- 21:30Speaker 1: guys holding this up? There are dead Americans and that's
- 21:33Speaker 1: not sensationalizing that as a fact, there are dead Americans
- 21:37Speaker 1: and terrorist attacks, and you guys have unfunded the department
- 21:40Speaker 1: that is supposed to be doing this in charge of
- 21:42Speaker 1: it helping with US aiding with this, and this is
- 21:46Speaker 1: one of those times where there is a lot of
- 21:48Speaker 1: uncertainty about what's next.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Yeah, the Democrats, it is hard to overstate how little
- 21:54Speaker 2: they're concerned. Look, I think they could leave DHS defunded
- 21:58Speaker 2: for the rest of the year. That's really how bad
- 22:01Speaker 2: it is. They're not concerned at all. They don't care
- 22:04Speaker 2: about the people whose lives they're ruining. They don't care
- 22:06Speaker 2: about the people who can't pay their rent or can't
- 22:08Speaker 2: feed their kids, and they don't care about leaving us
- 22:11Speaker 2: exposed to a massive terrorist attack. And that seems harsh.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I don't like saying they don't care about it, because
- 22:18Speaker 2: but give me an alternative explanation. And I think the
- 22:21Speaker 2: media plays a huge part in it because they believe
- 22:26Speaker 2: there is zero cost, so they're appeasing their radical base.
- 22:30Speaker 2: So look the CNN tweet that I read just a
- 22:33Speaker 2: minute ago describing the two ISIS inspired terrorists as just
- 22:37Speaker 2: two Pennsylvania teenagers that could have had a normal day
- 22:41Speaker 2: enjoying the warm weather. Like that was so ridiculous. They
- 22:46Speaker 2: deleted that tweet. But I also want to play what
- 22:50Speaker 2: Abby Phillips, who you know you've been on her show
- 22:52Speaker 2: with her, what she said about this, because it shows
- 22:57Speaker 2: just the mindset of CNN. Here. Give a listen to
- 23:01Speaker 2: how she described.
- 23:02Speaker 5: Two Republicans say Muslims don't belong here after an attempted
- 23:05Speaker 5: terror attack against New York's mayors, or on Mumdanni and
- 23:09Speaker 5: the House speaker Mike Johnson says nothing really to condemn
- 23:13Speaker 5: those comments.
- 23:14Speaker 1: That is shocking that she said that, and it did
- 23:18Speaker 1: backfire as you described it, because she had to come
- 23:20Speaker 1: out center and then apologize on this one or retracted,
- 23:25Speaker 1: and this is how her retraction, by the way, the
- 23:28Speaker 1: next night.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Take a listen this morning, I issued a correction first
- 23:32Speaker 5: thing in the morning on X for a mistake that
- 23:35Speaker 5: I made in last night's show, but I also wanted
- 23:37Speaker 5: to do so on air as well. I incorrectly said
- 23:40Speaker 5: that the bombs that were thrown by ISIS inspired suspects
- 23:43Speaker 5: in New York over the weekend were directed at Mayor Mumdanni.
- 23:46Speaker 5: They were not. I failed to catch and correct that
- 23:49Speaker 5: mistake in real time, and I take full responsibility for that.
- 23:52Speaker 5: And while we do make mistakes, it is important to
- 23:55Speaker 5: acknowledge and correct those errors when they.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Happen, Senator, I appreciate when there's a care But there
- 24:01Speaker 1: was a lot of people online that were actually frustrated
- 24:03Speaker 1: with the correction because what Abby was doing was acting
- 24:07Speaker 1: like she didn't correct somebody that said something on her
- 24:10Speaker 1: show in real time, And there was a lot of
- 24:13Speaker 1: people going like, you're the one that said it. Don't
- 24:15Speaker 1: act like someone else said it. You're the one that
- 24:18Speaker 1: has to correct your own. No information you put out
- 24:20Speaker 1: there that was incorrect. It wasn't a guest on your
- 24:23Speaker 1: show that you failed to correct what they said.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and Ben, I don't care about her. She's a
- 24:29Speaker 2: leftist quack. What I do care about is the failure
- 24:35Speaker 2: of supposedly journalistic outlets to actually do journalism. They are propagandists.
- 24:42Speaker 2: The stake she made was not random. It was just
- 24:45Speaker 2: not oops, got I said green, I meant red. It
- 24:49Speaker 2: is consistently skewing in a way that Number one, she's
- 24:53Speaker 2: not identifying that the terrorist in question were radical Islamic terrorists.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Number two, she's claiming the target or what she claimed
- 25:01Speaker 2: the target was Mandami. The target was not Mandami. In fact,
- 25:05Speaker 2: there was a protest against Mandami and the radical Islamic
- 25:08Speaker 2: terrorists tried to throw the bombs at the protesters who
- 25:10Speaker 2: were opposing Mandami. And if you look at her whole story,
- 25:15Speaker 2: it wasn't even on the terror attack. It was on
- 25:18Speaker 2: and Republicans criticized Muslims. And oddly enough, there's not outrage
- 25:22Speaker 2: that Republicans criticized Muslims. It reminds me of that. So
- 25:25Speaker 2: there's a classic tweet that Norm MacDonald, the great SNL
- 25:28Speaker 2: comedian said, And his tweet, he said, what terrifies me
- 25:35Speaker 2: is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and
- 25:39Speaker 2: kill fifty million Americans, imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Like that was Norm MacDonald's tweet years ago, and that
- 25:49Speaker 2: was CNN, Like ISIS terrorists tried to kill a lot
- 25:53Speaker 2: of Americans. Can you believe how upset people are with Muslims?
- 25:56Speaker 2: Like like, cover the damn news, cover the facts. But
- 26:00Speaker 2: by the way, you look at Bondami's statement after that
- 26:02Speaker 2: terror attack. He didn't identify the two criminals. He didn't
- 26:05Speaker 2: mention they were radical Islamic terrorists, he didn't mention they
- 26:07Speaker 2: were affiliated with ISIS. Instead, he blamed the guy who
- 26:11Speaker 2: was protesting against him, who was intended to be the
- 26:15Speaker 2: target of the bombs. When the media is this wildly dishonest,
- 26:24Speaker 2: it has real consequences. And so yes, those are two
- 26:27Speaker 2: instances on this terror attack where CNN had to correct
- 26:30Speaker 2: themselves because they were so absurd. But I ask you,
- 26:35Speaker 2: I mean you mentioned before. I have not seen a
- 26:37Speaker 2: single one of my Democrat colleagues asked by any reporter,
- 26:41Speaker 2: how can you justify not funding the Department of Homeland
- 26:45Speaker 2: Security when we've had four terror attacks from radical Islamic
- 26:48Speaker 2: terrorists in ten days, and we have radical clerics calling
- 26:53Speaker 2: for more.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, by the way, it's journalism, one on one. Every
- 26:57Speaker 1: journalist out there knows that's the question you should ask
- 27:00Speaker 1: on the way of the airport as you're walking out
- 27:02Speaker 1: of their office, as they're at the airport wedding. Like
- 27:04Speaker 1: this is just basic journalism. If you have terrorist attacks
- 27:08Speaker 1: and you've voted to not fund the Department of Hodseecurity,
- 27:12Speaker 1: there should be and traditionally there would have been hell
- 27:14Speaker 1: to pay on that one. I also go back to
- 27:17Speaker 1: the part you're talking about with this whole like cleansing
- 27:19Speaker 1: of Oh like, let's not act like this is Muslim extremists.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I put out a list of just like the history
- 27:25Speaker 1: and the past that we've dealt with with with radical Muslims.
- 27:28Speaker 1: The shoe bomber Muslim, Orlando attack Muslim, the Beltway Sniper's Muslim,
- 27:32Speaker 1: the fort Hood shooter Muslim, the underwear bomber Muslim, the
- 27:35Speaker 1: Westminster Tech Muslim, the five Bali bombings Muslim, the murder
- 27:39Speaker 1: of Lee.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Ben and Ben Ben. Let me let me jump in. Look,
- 27:43Speaker 2: you are right, but I want to draw a distinction
- 27:46Speaker 2: because there are more than a billion Muslims across the globe,
- 27:50Speaker 2: and there are hundreds of millions of Muslims who are
- 27:52Speaker 2: in fact peaceful and in fact, you look at different
- 27:55Speaker 2: different regions of the world. If you look at at
- 27:57Speaker 2: a country like India, India it has millions and millions
- 28:01Speaker 2: of Muslims and it has very little problem with radical
- 28:03Speaker 2: Islamic terrorism. It's not something that plagues India even though
- 28:06Speaker 2: it has a huge population. There is a distinction between
- 28:11Speaker 2: being Muslim, Yes, and being an Islamist. An Islamist is
- 28:16Speaker 2: a particular ideology. There's a great book called The Looming Tower.
- 28:20Speaker 2: It was written by a journalist, a Texas journalist called
- 28:22Speaker 2: Lawrence Wright, that traces the history of Islamism, and Islamism
- 28:27Speaker 2: is a political ideology that says, we will use force,
- 28:31Speaker 2: we will use violence, we will use terrorism to forcibly
- 28:35Speaker 2: attack the infidels and to force them to either convert
- 28:39Speaker 2: to Islam or to die an Islamist that they have
- 28:43Speaker 2: killed vast numbers of Muslims. By the way, the Islamists target,
- 28:47Speaker 2: they're fellow Muslims with great frequency. They target Christians, they
- 28:51Speaker 2: target Jews Islamism, which is where we get radical Islamic terrorism.
- 28:56Speaker 2: That's where on nine to eleven Osama bin Laden was
- 28:59Speaker 2: an Islamist. That is a particular ideology, and one of
- 29:03Speaker 2: the real problems is leftist refused to acknowledge it. In fact,
- 29:07Speaker 2: I'll tell you during the Obama administration, I chared a
- 29:10Speaker 2: hearing on the purge of radical Islamic terrorism from the
- 29:16Speaker 2: Department of Homeland Security, and the Obama White House sent
- 29:20Speaker 2: an email to DHS instructing it to purge and by
- 29:24Speaker 2: the way, purge was the word used by the Obama
- 29:27Speaker 2: White House political operative purge from the DHS records, any
- 29:32Speaker 2: reference to Jahad, any reference to Muslim Brotherhood, any reference
- 29:37Speaker 2: to radical Islamic terrorism, and DHS under Obama either deleted
- 29:43Speaker 2: or modified over eight hundred different records. And then when
- 29:45Speaker 2: you'd have another radical Islamic terror attack, they'd be like,
- 29:48Speaker 2: we have no idea where this came from. That same
- 29:51Speaker 2: ideology is playing out in CNN's coverage like gosh, we
- 29:56Speaker 2: can't figure out what's going on here. And by the way,
- 29:59Speaker 2: it played on in their open borders when they allowed
- 30:02Speaker 2: people to come in who are coming from countries that
- 30:07Speaker 2: are filled with terrorists, filled with Jahadis, they didn't do
- 30:11Speaker 2: vetting to be clear. Look, you look at the Afghan
- 30:15Speaker 2: immigrants that Joe Biden brought into this country. They did
- 30:17Speaker 2: a terrible job vetting it. We saw one of those
- 30:20Speaker 2: Afghan immigrants murder one National guardsmen and severely wound another
- 30:25Speaker 2: in DC. If you cannot acknowledge what it is you're fighting,
- 30:30Speaker 2: if you can't even say the words, and sadly CNN
- 30:32Speaker 2: has a really hard time saying the words radical Islamic terrorism,
- 30:36Speaker 2: then you know what, you don't hold anyone to account
- 30:38Speaker 2: for doing nothing to stop it and doing nothing to
- 30:40Speaker 2: keep American safe.
- 30:41Speaker 1: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Center
