- 2:52Speaker 1: townler Man on the show to talk about their new
- 2:54Speaker 1: season of Tyler Peers Assistant Living coming back on BT.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Because you can't keep it all because it's number on.
- 3:00Speaker 1: That's why number one with eighteen to four tonight, number
- 3:02Speaker 1: one with television twenty one and it's already been renewed.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Ain't that nice? Ain't that nice? Please broome money mad
- 3:11Speaker 1: conversation David and Tamla Man, WHOA come on, y'all, hello,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I love it, you know you love. I think I
- 3:26Speaker 1: think I want you to do my my eulogy at
- 3:29Speaker 1: my finger well making introductions like that. I'll tell you something.
- 3:33Speaker 1: First of all, y'all know you'll have a favorite couple,
- 3:35Speaker 1: oh you know favorite obviously your favorite couple from Tyler
- 3:39Speaker 1: Para too, because you know, you guys became legends in
- 3:43Speaker 1: the stage play world. And then when he was able
- 3:46Speaker 1: to to turn in into your own tour, because right
- 3:49Speaker 1: before the COVID hit, you guys were touring as a family.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Is it gonna come back? Uh in twenty one, that
- 3:55Speaker 1: was gonna be moving to two when y'all go back
- 3:57Speaker 1: on the road, take the family back on the road
- 3:59Speaker 1: as a tour. You know, we we we're just trying
- 4:03Speaker 1: to juggle and get back to normal. First before we
- 4:06Speaker 1: you know, we're releasing new music for Tamala and uh,
- 4:10Speaker 1: right now we're just trying to maneuver and just figure
- 4:12Speaker 1: out this whole new new way of normal. And then
- 4:17Speaker 1: then we only look, I'm ready to go back out.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I just want everybody else to be ready too. We
- 4:25Speaker 1: know that's very true, because you know I would tell
- 4:27Speaker 1: everybody I'm fully vaccinated. I always tell I try to
- 4:30Speaker 1: promote the fact that we have to get vaccinated. We
- 4:32Speaker 1: have to get out there to get you know, and
- 4:35Speaker 1: promote the factor. And no, there no agenda, and guess what,
- 4:38Speaker 1: nothing's perfect out there. I'm not saying if you get vaccinated,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you might not have some ill effects, but I would
- 4:43Speaker 1: tell you this, and you know not both know. Once
- 4:45Speaker 1: I got vaccinated, it changed my whole perspective. I wasn't
- 4:48Speaker 1: paring on it anymore. I felt safer. I felt I
- 4:51Speaker 1: could get on with my life. What was your what
- 4:54Speaker 1: would eat your feedback when you got vaccinated? Were for us?
- 4:58Speaker 1: I mean something, you know, some parts like even when
- 5:00Speaker 1: I say sold my kids, he was like, no, we're
- 5:03Speaker 1: not doing I was like, but we're doing it because
- 5:05Speaker 1: like when I go see my mother and now she
- 5:08Speaker 1: had some issues. I have a sister that has some issues.
- 5:11Speaker 1: You know, it's just people that's around me that have issues,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and I'm not just looking at for me, I'm looking
- 5:16Speaker 1: at for them as well, and even as you know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: for the family. So we're just not even like you say,
- 5:21Speaker 1: encouraging people to just you know, do do what's right
- 5:25Speaker 1: for you, do what's right for you. But we we
- 5:27Speaker 1: felt like it was right and like you said, you know,
- 5:29Speaker 1: it just made us less paranoia that we're around a
- 5:31Speaker 1: lot of people. We traveled, and so I wanted to
- 5:34Speaker 1: get back to that and and then not just be like,
- 5:37Speaker 1: oh my god, you know, you know who I want
- 5:40Speaker 1: to do? They have it right. It gave us a
- 5:43Speaker 1: you know, it just made us feel a little safe
- 5:46Speaker 1: and off the words because I'm I'm such a hugger.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I was scared. He was like, if you're somebody did
- 5:56Speaker 1: have blown COVID because she wanted to hook you didn't know.
- 6:02Speaker 1: It was just I was just so used to it.
- 6:04Speaker 1: So I'm just we went at a funeral supposed to
- 6:07Speaker 1: be social distancing. She doesn't grab the mic and hit
- 6:11Speaker 1: the mic with her lists. No, what are you doing?
- 6:17Speaker 1: What people coming up to her hug No, No, We're
- 6:22Speaker 1: not even supposed to be absolute, you know. And then
- 6:25Speaker 1: I'm talking to David chamlin Man and uh, you know,
- 6:28Speaker 1: any any story that they tell us as an honest story,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and it's a story about life. And the thing about
- 6:32Speaker 1: it is before we were talking last time I've seen it,
- 6:35Speaker 1: and David, you started talking about how music and I'll
- 6:37Speaker 1: just tell you all. Tamla Man set a historic and
- 6:39Speaker 1: personal industry record the first gospel lead artists and Billboard
- 6:43Speaker 1: Gospel history, three consecutive number ones from an album. This
- 6:47Speaker 1: is what we're talking about. And so I always want
- 6:49Speaker 1: to bring out that diversit because I'm also gonna talk
- 6:51Speaker 1: about your business, your entrepreneurship, you leisure line and all
- 6:54Speaker 1: that stuff, and your various campaigns. And then I also
- 6:57Speaker 1: want to talk about the producer side that you do, David,
- 7:00Speaker 1: what I like to always bring up when I bring
- 7:02Speaker 1: talent like you on Monday Baking conversation. People see only
- 7:04Speaker 1: one side of you. They see the entertainment side, they
- 7:08Speaker 1: see the comedic side, but you're there are layers to
- 7:10Speaker 1: the man's family. Tamela, tell us about that. Well, like
- 7:15Speaker 1: like you said, we started with with me. For me,
- 7:17Speaker 1: it started with music, then we started into the acting thing.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And now you know, David, he pushed me. He pushed
- 7:25Speaker 1: me into really big standing out being an artist, which
- 7:27Speaker 1: I'm really grateful for because he's helped me, with God's help,
- 7:30Speaker 1: He's helped me become the actress and the artists that
- 7:34Speaker 1: I am today. And then even to go into the
- 7:37Speaker 1: clothing line tamlaman collection which is at at leisure weares
- 7:42Speaker 1: you know, so force, like like I have something on today,
- 7:46Speaker 1: but I'm just really excited about all the different things
- 7:50Speaker 1: that we that we do have our hands in because
- 7:53Speaker 1: we've learned that you can't put all your eggs in
- 7:55Speaker 1: one basket. That means it's like you're concentrating just on
- 7:59Speaker 1: one thing, but sometimes you have more than just one gift.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And it's just like him with he is the mastermind
- 8:06Speaker 1: of all of our little things that we have going on,
- 8:10Speaker 1: and I really appreciate him pushing us even as a family.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I'm a big believer in ownership. I like ownership. I
- 8:17Speaker 1: like to own my masters. I like the oh you
- 8:20Speaker 1: know that. I just I'm a big believer in own it.
- 8:23Speaker 1: And you know that way you can create the narrative
- 8:25Speaker 1: for yourself and you don't have to have somebody else
- 8:28Speaker 1: to kind of, you know, navigate how you want to
- 8:32Speaker 1: do it. So that that's just how I operate the
- 8:35Speaker 1: business is just like, let's just get in there. Because
- 8:37Speaker 1: with her, I told him, you have a following. People
- 8:40Speaker 1: see you snatched, they want to know how you snatched.
- 8:43Speaker 1: They want to know how you look and where you
- 8:45Speaker 1: get that stuff from. So she just started creating and
- 8:48Speaker 1: designing her own stuff, and I was like, don't worry,
- 8:50Speaker 1: I'll get somebody. We can start distributing it. That's the
- 8:53Speaker 1: way it was with the music. I'll find this distribution,
- 8:56Speaker 1: will you know, will produce it ourselves and make it
- 9:00Speaker 1: do so. I have new music coming June fourth, a
- 9:03Speaker 1: new single help Me. The new album is don't drop
- 9:06Speaker 1: in all this look I'll be back, you know, dropping
- 9:12Speaker 1: in all. So I'm in it. But I'm really excited
- 9:15Speaker 1: about it because I have, you know, just looking at
- 9:18Speaker 1: you know yourself, and and David and and really putting
- 9:22Speaker 1: my hands to work this album. I put my hands
- 9:25Speaker 1: to work more than I ever have with any of
- 9:28Speaker 1: the other ones. Maybe because we did have the pandemic,
- 9:31Speaker 1: we had more time. I was writing more, just eating,
- 9:34Speaker 1: putting the help and putting the art work together, just
- 9:37Speaker 1: creating the ideas for videos. But we just want to
- 9:40Speaker 1: encourage our people that we can make it happen if
- 9:43Speaker 1: we if we support each other, we can make it
- 9:45Speaker 1: happy for each other. It's finally here, the season of celebration.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And no matter how you celebrate with family and friends,
- 9:52Speaker 1: whether you're preparing for rays magos or karam lighting, the
- 9:56Speaker 1: Manura are going to midnight Mass Poles has just what
- 10:00Speaker 1: need to make those traditions special. Plus you'll find gifts
- 10:03Speaker 1: for all your loved ones. Send warm wishes with cozy fleeces, sweaters, loungeware,
- 10:09Speaker 1: blankets and throws. Support minority owned or founded brands by
- 10:12Speaker 1: giving gifts from Human Nation and shame moisture or treat
- 10:16Speaker 1: them to everyone's favorite activewear from top brands like Nike, Adidas,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and under Armour. And in the spirit of giving, Coals
- 10:24Speaker 1: Cares is donating eight million dollars to local nonprofits nationwide
- 10:28Speaker 1: committed to the health and well being of our communities.
- 10:31Speaker 1: No matter how you celebrate, when you shop at Coals,
- 10:34Speaker 1: you're right where you belong. So this season, give with
- 10:38Speaker 1: all your heart with great gifts from Coals or Coals
- 10:41Speaker 1: dot Com. And we're live here outside the Perez family home,
- 10:45Speaker 1: just waiting for them. And there they go, almost on time.
- 10:49Speaker 1: This morning. Mom is coming off the front door strong
- 10:51Speaker 1: with a double arm kid carry. Looks like dad has
- 10:54Speaker 1: the bags. Daughter is bringing up the rear. Oh but
- 10:57Speaker 1: the diaper bag wasn't closed. Lifers and toys are everywhere.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Oh but mom has just nailed the perfect car seat
- 11:06Speaker 1: buckle for the toddler. And now the eldest daughter, who
- 11:09Speaker 1: looks to be about nine or ten, has secured herself
- 11:12Speaker 1: in the booster seat, dead SIPs the bad clothes and
- 11:15Speaker 1: they're off, But looks like Mom doesn't realize her coffee
- 11:19Speaker 1: cup is still on the roof of the car, and
- 11:21Speaker 1: there it goes. Oh, that's a shame that mug was
- 11:25Speaker 1: a fan favorite. Don't sweat the small stuff, just nailed
- 11:28Speaker 1: the big stuff, like making sure your kids are buckled

- 11:45Speaker 1: of a forest. It's a storybook world for them. You
- 11:49Speaker 1: look and see a tree. They see the wrinkled face
- 11:52Speaker 1: of a wizard with arms outstretched to the sky. They
- 11:55Speaker 1: see treasuring pebbles, They see a windy path that could

- 12:12Speaker 1: You know, an interesting thing about it is that you're
- 12:15Speaker 1: you're beautiful couple and and the Longevity book. When I
- 12:20Speaker 1: had you guys on the show talking about that, and
- 12:23Speaker 1: when when? Because that means that it's possible because you know,
- 12:26Speaker 1: we're always here the fifth percent of the marriage and
- 12:28Speaker 1: the divorce, what is the most when I'm talking to
- 12:31Speaker 1: David and Tamila man, what advice do you give the
- 12:33Speaker 1: people who struggling? Because you know you have a strong faith.
- 12:37Speaker 1: We all know faith is tied to that. What advice
- 12:39Speaker 1: do you give when those moments of doubt come into
- 12:42Speaker 1: a relationship. I always tare, like I tell my staff
- 12:46Speaker 1: and telling it, tell everybody there's a there's a little
- 12:49Speaker 1: picture and there's a big picture. I'm looking at the
- 12:52Speaker 1: big picture of it all? What what is to come?
- 12:56Speaker 1: And you know, for us, even as a couple in
- 12:58Speaker 1: the industry, like you were saying, with divorce, we genuinely
- 13:02Speaker 1: enjoy each other's company. People ask us what's the key,
- 13:05Speaker 1: what's the secret? I like this woman right here and
- 13:09Speaker 1: we've managed we we just celebrated thirty three years in April,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and it's because we genuinely enjoy each other's company. In
- 13:16Speaker 1: this pandemic, you know, people were locked in the house
- 13:20Speaker 1: seven with each other. So either you you discovered I
- 13:24Speaker 1: really love you or you discovered I don't like you
- 13:27Speaker 1: at all? Yes, yes, yes, yes yes yes. For us,
- 13:33Speaker 1: we discovered I liked even more. I mean and to
- 13:37Speaker 1: you know, because people were leaving here. So I just
- 13:40Speaker 1: never want to take him for granted. And you know
- 13:42Speaker 1: the things that he do for me and help me with,
- 13:46Speaker 1: you know, and I just want to become more of
- 13:48Speaker 1: a friend or wife, whatever areas that he needs. I
- 13:52Speaker 1: just want to be there. I just don't want it
- 13:54Speaker 1: to be one sided. That you're helping me accomplish everything
- 13:57Speaker 1: that I want to accomplish. I want to help you
- 14:00Speaker 1: pomplished some of those things too. So it's like we
- 14:02Speaker 1: try to put each other before each other. You know,
- 14:05Speaker 1: it's not not looking at it through just the one
- 14:08Speaker 1: vision of one. I just focused on myself that I
- 14:12Speaker 1: but it's on both of us that we were making
- 14:15Speaker 1: things happen for each other. We're do an interesting thing.
- 14:17Speaker 1: But that's why I'm so happy to see you guys again,
- 14:20Speaker 1: Because you know, David, you called me all the time,
- 14:22Speaker 1: or I called him sure, I got this new record.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Look at this video? Can you help me drop it?
- 14:26Speaker 1: You know, because he's a natural business person. Pandemics shut
- 14:30Speaker 1: out a lot of that because we all were confused.
- 14:33Speaker 1: The world stopped. We didn't know when it was gonna
- 14:35Speaker 1: start back up. And now that it's starting back up,
- 14:38Speaker 1: and I see the success and the opportunity, now you
- 14:42Speaker 1: lead your where you know you you are a RP representative.
- 14:46Speaker 1: All those things were coming your way. You're looking on
- 14:48Speaker 1: the other's hand, David, you're like a manager, proud husband,
- 14:52Speaker 1: proud paper. I told you so, I told you can
- 14:55Speaker 1: do a guy when you look at that. That's why
- 14:59Speaker 1: that's why I read the IS credits like I read them.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I read David and the Jokeley. I just read all
- 15:03Speaker 1: of hers because he's responsible for that three years. He
- 15:08Speaker 1: really is. Because people even asking that Rochale, it's like like,
- 15:11Speaker 1: because well I know that you. I mean, people asking
- 15:13Speaker 1: me the crazy questions like well you you're making all
- 15:15Speaker 1: the money. No, I'm really not making all the money.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Y'all really just don't know. Like you said, he is
- 15:21Speaker 1: the mastermind behind it all. So it's like we're doing
- 15:24Speaker 1: this together, and you know, it's like we're both in
- 15:27Speaker 1: the fourth and even in that, I'm so secure and
- 15:30Speaker 1: who I am. None of that even bothers me when
- 15:33Speaker 1: I tell you at all, because I'm so at fifty five,
- 15:36Speaker 1: I'm so cool and who I am. They could come
- 15:39Speaker 1: up and say all of that and I'm like, good,
- 15:43Speaker 1: that's great. Yeah, because we both share the same last
- 15:46Speaker 1: name and the bank account, all the numbers on the
- 15:49Speaker 1: bank accounts, it has both about the name zone so
- 15:53Speaker 1: it doesn't matter to me. Well that then and that
- 15:55Speaker 1: and I know it doesn't. But what I wanted to
- 15:57Speaker 1: say in that and just emphasize the roles that we
- 16:01Speaker 1: play in the marriage, well the roles that were playing
- 16:03Speaker 1: the relationship and what happens is that's what destroyers are
- 16:06Speaker 1: married and get confused. You know, you know what success?
- 16:10Speaker 1: What role did you play? And I'm saying is that
- 16:12Speaker 1: he plays a very subtle role publicly, and that's the
- 16:16Speaker 1: beauty of who he is. That's why I love David Man.
- 16:18Speaker 1: You know, he is so brilliant as a comedian, as
- 16:22Speaker 1: an actor. And then you're sitting in the room with him,
- 16:24Speaker 1: you go, do you know who you are? What you're
- 16:27Speaker 1: talking about? Rashan? You you're one of the funniest guys.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I know what you're talking about. Be quiet off air.
- 16:33Speaker 1: When I was talking to you, guys, we shout, we regularly.
- 16:36Speaker 1: We just regular people. And y'all know, y'all not look
- 16:42Speaker 1: mean because you know what. I just I don't look
- 16:45Speaker 1: at that celebrity thing, you know, because I feel like
- 16:49Speaker 1: we're all special with all stars in guy's eye. I mean,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I thank God for the platform that the Lord is
- 16:56Speaker 1: helped us, you know, get and I haven't want to
- 16:59Speaker 1: say that, but I'm just really grateful for the opportunity
- 17:03Speaker 1: to help somebody else, encourage somebody else. That's what it's
- 17:07Speaker 1: all about when it comes to my music, you know,
- 17:09Speaker 1: even with the clothing line, it's for the full figure
- 17:12Speaker 1: women because sometimes in so many areas, I feel like
- 17:15Speaker 1: you get left out where our stuff is not as
- 17:17Speaker 1: cute as stuff with a smaller woman. Not knocking them,
- 17:20Speaker 1: but we won't cute stuff too. So that's why I
- 17:22Speaker 1: did that. Every day you said, thick girls they love too.
- 17:27Speaker 1: So it's like we just want to know just everybody.
- 17:33Speaker 1: We're having a serious conversation, He's gonna just dive in
- 17:35Speaker 1: with thick gers need to they need fashion, they need
- 17:39Speaker 1: they need a good Okay, it's not about just wearing
- 17:41Speaker 1: t shirts and tights. No, No, they need fashion. They
- 17:44Speaker 1: need some savagi, you know. And that's it's just really
- 17:50Speaker 1: it's really a blessing to be a blessing to somebody
- 17:53Speaker 1: else when they let other people know that things can
- 17:56Speaker 1: happen for you too. Well, here's the thing, nobody, because
- 17:59Speaker 1: you know I met you shocking, and man, you came
- 18:00Speaker 1: in my life, sucker, the first he came into my
- 18:03Speaker 1: life first, you know, because I would tell everybody publicly
- 18:07Speaker 1: like I think I know everything, but I don't know everything.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I think I know who are famous, then I don't
- 18:13Speaker 1: know who famous. The first time I met Mr Man
- 18:17Speaker 1: was that when UM Official T d J held his
- 18:21Speaker 1: gospel celebration in Atlanta, And uh, you know, me and
- 18:24Speaker 1: Steve we're walking around like we started. You know, we're
- 18:26Speaker 1: walking around here, se harb, I'm next year. I'm getting
- 18:29Speaker 1: all this shadow. You know, I'm gonna start because I'm
- 18:31Speaker 1: in this shadow, right, And then this dude came around
- 18:34Speaker 1: the corner with these ugly pants on they were too
- 18:37Speaker 1: tight and walked on stage and the place exploded, and
- 18:42Speaker 1: like when Steve, who is that dude? I think that
- 18:47Speaker 1: Mr Brown? Who is Mr Brown? Me? You are a phenomenon,
- 18:52Speaker 1: You are an underground phenomenon. David Mann, No, I'm telling
- 18:57Speaker 1: what Steve said. At first, my kids they said Steve said,
- 19:02Speaker 1: who is? They say, I'm with David Man, who is
- 19:05Speaker 1: the mad Mad? Then I went on stage and it
- 19:09Speaker 1: was like that, and Steve was like, oh, okay, you
- 19:15Speaker 1: do Steve, Steve me some shade, dude. Well I'm we
- 19:19Speaker 1: are Mecho Mecho because I didn't know who you're watching.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Hold you do get pants on? He took over. I mean,
- 19:28Speaker 1: twenty thousand people were following him. If he had a pipe,
- 19:31Speaker 1: he could have laid them right down the street because
- 19:34Speaker 1: they were fans of you. I don't care about Steve
- 19:37Speaker 1: Harvey showtime at the Apollo def Comedy Town. Me and
- 19:41Speaker 1: the boys. You, my brother built a star Power fan
- 19:46Speaker 1: base underground before TV, before radio. Tell us about that journey.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Come on, David Man, you know what I mean. I've
- 19:55Speaker 1: been doing this character for twenty years and never could
- 19:58Speaker 1: have imagined that playing this character could could make my dreams,
- 20:03Speaker 1: her dreams, some of our kids, grandkids can make I
- 20:06Speaker 1: mean some of our dreams come true. Never could have
- 20:08Speaker 1: imagined we were just doing it. We had to be
- 20:11Speaker 1: on the road or an honest living kept us from
- 20:14Speaker 1: doing it. Legal stuff. It was never could have imagined
- 20:20Speaker 1: that it would grow to this, to where doing another
- 20:23Speaker 1: television show Assistant Living, and still be relevant after twenty years.
- 20:27Speaker 1: That's in this industry. You know that that just doesn't happen.
- 20:31Speaker 1: And I don't take it for Brandon. I just know
- 20:33Speaker 1: that it's really a blessing. It really is. Now. The
- 20:37Speaker 1: characters that you guys play really were born out of
- 20:41Speaker 1: a play for Tyler's Perry's play correct. You know Coore,
- 20:45Speaker 1: you play his daughter in the TV series Assisted Living.
- 20:48Speaker 1: You got my board watch out there now. Anthony Brown
- 20:51Speaker 1: on the I Love I've Been Jane Brown six A
- 20:59Speaker 1: little history me when I when I left my job
- 21:01Speaker 1: at IBM to go to stand up comedy. He was
- 21:04Speaker 1: the first black comedian I met on the role. He
- 21:07Speaker 1: was headlining and it was in Mobile, Alabama where we met,
- 21:11Speaker 1: and back then they wouldn't put in two black comedians
- 21:14Speaker 1: on the show at the same time. It's just like
- 21:16Speaker 1: white headline of counseled at the last minute and they
- 21:19Speaker 1: brought Jadis Brown in as an emergency. That's how I
- 21:21Speaker 1: met him, and he's and he's been in my life
- 21:24Speaker 1: every since, so I know you gotta get a special talent.
- 21:27Speaker 1: J Cole about two days ago, Man, this song. I
- 21:31Speaker 1: didn't know you were singing like this. He was listening
- 21:34Speaker 1: to our song from the Love album Up to Down.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I didn't blame it by five times, so he text, men,
- 21:39Speaker 1: comes up, I'm loving this song. I'm loving this song.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I was like, I'm just doing what I think. He's
- 21:46Speaker 1: a very highest man. He's a very night he's funny,
- 21:49Speaker 1: but he's a very nice guy, very nice guy. Well,
- 21:52Speaker 1: just like you guys. Hey, don't trying for nothing. But
- 21:59Speaker 1: the ain't no time and just right now you if
- 22:00Speaker 1: you wait for your food, you better go in and
- 22:03Speaker 1: eat because it's gonna get cold. Wait no, j Anthon Brown,
- 22:06Speaker 1: but when you come in, he's gonna light up the room. Though.
- 22:08Speaker 1: When you come in is what I tell you. The
- 22:13Speaker 1: energy that he brings to the show. Sometimes we're like, Jay,
- 22:17Speaker 1: did you just say what I thank you saying? And
- 22:19Speaker 1: then you know I'm always telling him, Okay, okay, come
- 22:22Speaker 1: on with cousin Jake. Come on. I'm like, I remember
- 22:26Speaker 1: we got kids just watching too. Okay, I will do it.
- 22:29Speaker 1: And then Papa the energy that he brings to the
- 22:33Speaker 1: show man. I'm telling you it's a joy working with
- 22:36Speaker 1: and I can't say that about everybody. You know, Hi, everyone,
- 22:39Speaker 1: I'll Rooker here as a guy with his own catchphrase.
- 22:42Speaker 1: I appreciate that Smokey's only said only you can prevent wildfires,
- 22:47Speaker 1: but I'm feeling it because there's a lot more to report,
- 22:50Speaker 1: like when they're a parched or windy conditions out there,
- 22:53Speaker 1: you gotta be extra careful with things like burning yard wage.
- 22:56Speaker 1: After all, wildfires can start anywhere, even in your neck

- 24:11Speaker 1: there's the thing about it, because I'm talking to David
- 24:13Speaker 1: and tamiler Man uh started new Tyler Perry's Assisted Living
- 24:16Speaker 1: series is on air on BT every Tuesday and nine
- 24:19Speaker 1: thirty follows the House of Pain at nine o'clock. It's
- 24:23Speaker 1: a Tyler Perry block every Tuesday on being I'm just
- 24:26Speaker 1: gonna be real now, you know, Tyler Perry taking over everything.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Tyler Perry gonna be, Tyler Perry gonna be on the
- 24:31Speaker 1: moon pretty soon. You want to just look up there
- 24:33Speaker 1: and just see t p TV probably right there. But
- 24:39Speaker 1: you know when I when I look at the success
- 24:41Speaker 1: of the man's because you're a brand. Now, Now what
- 24:45Speaker 1: is the responsibility of being a brand? Because both of
- 24:48Speaker 1: you guys are out there and then you take a
- 24:50Speaker 1: management producer role oftentimes David and you take a talent
- 24:55Speaker 1: but you're still an entrepreneur, businesswoman. There's a lot of
- 24:59Speaker 1: things going in and thirty three years of marriage and
- 25:01Speaker 1: I we celebrate my thirty three year of marriage and December,
- 25:05Speaker 1: so thank you very much, thank you very much. So
- 25:08Speaker 1: that's what we're always gonna have that little link together
- 25:10Speaker 1: because I know there was a moment in my life,
- 25:13Speaker 1: especially entertainment when you're traveling, you're traveling, and entertainment is
- 25:17Speaker 1: a fickle business because there's no consistency. You can sometimes
- 25:21Speaker 1: buy a house, you can't buy clothes, you can't die
- 25:24Speaker 1: anything because you know that check you got is gonna
- 25:26Speaker 1: be there next week. So over how I talk about
- 25:30Speaker 1: overcoming that uncertainty to maintain this longevity, and then we're
- 25:34Speaker 1: gonna talk more about the serious in detail assisted living.
- 25:38Speaker 1: You know been in this industry, We've been in this
- 25:40Speaker 1: industry for twenty five years, and like you said, we
- 25:43Speaker 1: had a lot of friends that said, you know what,
- 25:45Speaker 1: and a lot of talented brothers that have said, you
- 25:47Speaker 1: know what, y'all going to do that The uncertainty is
- 25:49Speaker 1: too much for me. So what we decided to do
- 25:52Speaker 1: is just jump out there full just in faith. I mean, well,
- 25:58Speaker 1: and I think we start ninety ninety three or something
- 26:02Speaker 1: like that, I don't know, somewhere back and then we
- 26:04Speaker 1: would decide just getting into the game. And it was
- 26:06Speaker 1: like scary because sometime it's up, sometimes it's day, and
- 26:11Speaker 1: we just decided, Lord, we're going full time in it.
- 26:14Speaker 1: And we haven't looked back, you know, as we were
- 26:16Speaker 1: talking about with the characters and the music and all
- 26:20Speaker 1: of that, we just made sure as entrepreneurs that it
- 26:23Speaker 1: hadn't been we haven't been one trick ponies. And that's
- 26:25Speaker 1: what I think helped us to survive in this pandemic
- 26:28Speaker 1: is because yeah, we were not only just depended on
- 26:33Speaker 1: the road, and you were doing you know, like I said,
- 26:34Speaker 1: we have a clothing line, We have you know, music
- 26:37Speaker 1: and television and you know, stuff like that to kind
- 26:39Speaker 1: of help sustain through all of this. You know, it's
- 26:43Speaker 1: really interesting because that's that multiple levels of income that
- 26:46Speaker 1: we talked about. A lot of people don't do that.
- 26:48Speaker 1: They they can see that lane of success. And guess
- 26:51Speaker 1: what pandemic talks us a lot about pivoty about looking
- 26:54Speaker 1: at the mailbox money, what are you doing besides your
- 26:57Speaker 1: primary income or the other income? And that's what formed
- 27:00Speaker 1: that you guys are. Both of you guys have created
- 27:02Speaker 1: and it has sustained itself through these these dark times
- 27:06Speaker 1: and and everything. But but but but I have to
- 27:10Speaker 1: be I have to say that before we go, is
- 27:12Speaker 1: that we was just about Tyler Perry. And it's a
- 27:15Speaker 1: good thing is that you guys have had a lot
- 27:18Speaker 1: of success with him. Can you can you put in
- 27:21Speaker 1: maybe a minute or less than a minute, or talk
- 27:23Speaker 1: as long as you want about the greatness of Tyler Perry,
- 27:27Speaker 1: his influence in this industry when a lot of people
- 27:30Speaker 1: questioned it, and his impact on your lives and the
- 27:33Speaker 1: people he entertains today. Well, a lot of stuff that
- 27:37Speaker 1: people that people don't see is the giving that he
- 27:40Speaker 1: does outside of you know, you hear about some of
- 27:43Speaker 1: the stuff that he do in the public guy, but
- 27:46Speaker 1: there's a lot more going on behind the scenes that
- 27:49Speaker 1: he's doing helping other people. Uh, he just choose not
- 27:53Speaker 1: to let it be known. Uh. He asked me a question.
- 27:56Speaker 1: We were on the road and he asked me the question, So,
- 27:58Speaker 1: what would it take for you to return high? And
- 28:00Speaker 1: uh I gave him a number and he was like okay.
- 28:03Speaker 1: He said, no, you gotta dream higher, you gotta dream
- 28:06Speaker 1: much higher. And I thought about it. I was like,
- 28:09Speaker 1: you're right, Okay, you're right. And it just made even
- 28:13Speaker 1: seeing the studio and send the other stuff that he's
- 28:15Speaker 1: done and that he's doing, it just made you dare
- 28:19Speaker 1: to dream bigger, dare to go, you know, like put
- 28:22Speaker 1: in the work. You see him because when I tell
- 28:24Speaker 1: you do work, people don't believe how much this he worked.
- 28:28Speaker 1: By the time he finishes a series, he's exhausted. And
- 28:31Speaker 1: I've seen it because he puts his mind, body, everything
- 28:35Speaker 1: into doing this. And that's that's stuff that I've seen
- 28:38Speaker 1: through the years. And it's just like, Okay, if that's
- 28:41Speaker 1: how he's doing it, if that's how he's become a
- 28:44Speaker 1: mogul building, I said, Okay, I see it. So it
- 28:50Speaker 1: just made me start, Okay, I'm a build my And
- 28:53Speaker 1: I called him the other day and I say, man,
- 28:55Speaker 1: I'm a little afraid on something. I got an opportunity,
- 28:58Speaker 1: but I'm afraid what you ain't know, just don't do it, man.
- 29:02Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, so I pulled the trigger
- 29:05Speaker 1: on it just I called him and just asked him
- 29:07Speaker 1: his advice on it. I can't tell you all the
- 29:10Speaker 1: choice worthy to me, like you gonta do it to
- 29:14Speaker 1: stop being scary. So that's just where it is. Well
- 29:20Speaker 1: for me, I mean, to see him, you know, we
- 29:22Speaker 1: started in nineteen nine and nine. To see him from
- 29:25Speaker 1: then to now, I'm very if I can say as
- 29:29Speaker 1: a sister friend, I'm very proud of him and even
- 29:33Speaker 1: how he's grown, even with dealing with the people. I mean,
- 29:37Speaker 1: it's like, you know, him finding himself and and like
- 29:40Speaker 1: you just like after the years grow, I've just seen
- 29:43Speaker 1: him grow, and I'm just really really proud of him
- 29:46Speaker 1: and everything that he's accomplished. Look ain't no jealous bone
- 29:50Speaker 1: in our body. They're very happy and pushing him on,
- 29:53Speaker 1: and I'm praying for him all the time, and I'm
- 29:57Speaker 1: just really I'm really, really really proud of him. I
- 30:00Speaker 1: really am. I just that's the biggest I'm just happy for.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I'm so happy for well, I'm happy for David and
- 30:06Speaker 1: Tamila man thirty three years of marriage. I'm gonna make
