- 1:55Speaker 6: Come come on, you'll think, ah huh, I sure will.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Now, good morning everybody.
- 2:06Speaker 6: You are listening to the voice, Come on now dig
- 2:09Speaker 6: me one and only Steve Harvey Man oh Man got
- 2:13Speaker 6: a radio show. The only way to find your real purpose,
- 2:17Speaker 6: your real mission in life. You're real what for? The
- 2:21Speaker 6: thing that you got to go get it get after
- 2:24Speaker 6: is you got to connect with God. You have to
- 2:26Speaker 6: connect with him because as your creator, no one knows
- 2:30Speaker 6: better what you were made for than your maker. I
- 2:34Speaker 6: mean not just I mean man, and you just make
- 2:39Speaker 6: a lot of common sense, don't it. I mean really,
- 2:43Speaker 6: you know, people kill me with the lack of belief.
- 2:50Speaker 6: I think that science is very real. I think that
- 2:53Speaker 6: science is very applicable. I think that science helps us
- 2:58Speaker 6: learn so many things. But science ain't everything. Now, you
- 3:05Speaker 6: might as well under that there's some unexplainables that science
- 3:08Speaker 6: can't wrap their mind around. So here they go with
- 3:12Speaker 6: something else, and then you got the nay sayers who
- 3:14Speaker 6: use that, the non believers who use that as the
- 3:18Speaker 6: proof that there is no high calling on how being.
- 3:21Speaker 6: And I listen to me, I don't really into explaining
- 3:25Speaker 6: all that a way. If that's how you feel, then
- 3:27Speaker 6: gone and get the feeling how you feeling with it.
- 3:29Speaker 6: But let me explain something to you. I just don't
- 3:32Speaker 6: see how God is really almost unexplainable to me. So
- 3:37Speaker 6: really for me to sit here and try to explain,
- 3:39Speaker 6: I'm really not that good of a guy, you know
- 3:41Speaker 6: what I mean, I'm not that person. So let me
- 3:44Speaker 6: try to give you something real here. Okay, so this
- 3:47Speaker 6: we done. Just had that moment. I had to get
- 3:49Speaker 6: that off my chest. I want, I want. I want
- 3:51Speaker 6: to share something with you about when you strike out
- 3:56Speaker 6: to find your mission, or how about when you strike
- 4:00Speaker 6: out on your mission once you discover what your purpose is,
- 4:06Speaker 6: or let's simplify, what happens when you set a goal
- 4:14Speaker 6: and you're ready to strike out on that goal. What
- 4:16Speaker 6: happens when you set an ambition in front of you,
- 4:22Speaker 6: or put something in your sights that you want to
- 4:24Speaker 6: attain that you want to become successful at what's.
- 4:28Speaker 1: The mind set that you have to develop. There are
- 4:33Speaker 1: three things.
- 4:36Speaker 6: You must first ask, You must then believe, and you
- 4:43Speaker 6: must then receive. Now the received part, all these parts
- 4:47Speaker 6: iss got a thing to it. You gotta ask. You
- 4:53Speaker 6: just got to ask for it. You know you've heard
- 4:55Speaker 6: the scripture before, You have not because you ask not
- 4:58Speaker 6: Why don't you ask? But then after you ask, here's
- 5:03Speaker 6: the kick. You got to believe that it can happen
- 5:07Speaker 6: for you. Stop looking at the success of other people
- 5:11Speaker 6: and not thinking that that same success can happen for you.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Then I'm not saying that Pacific waye specific weight. I'm
- 5:18Speaker 6: just saying that a success can happen for you, just
- 5:22Speaker 6: like it can happen for somebody else. Why do you
- 5:25Speaker 6: think it keeps happening to other people over and over
- 5:28Speaker 6: because they ask and they believe. Now here's the cold part.
- 5:33Speaker 6: Receive it?
- 5:35Speaker 1: Oh what you mean?
- 5:36Speaker 6: Receive it? I ask for it. I believe in it.
- 5:39Speaker 6: Why would I not want to receive it?
- 5:41Speaker 1: Act like it, Act like it's already there.
- 5:47Speaker 6: Behaviors though you have it in your hands, Smile about it,
- 5:54Speaker 6: Realize that man is just days away.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And how many of days that is. If it's days away,
- 6:02Speaker 1: it's just days away.
- 6:05Speaker 6: We don't know if it's gonna happen tomorrow, next week,
- 6:08Speaker 6: in thirty days. We don't know if it's gonna take
- 6:11Speaker 6: a few years. But you got to receive it though.
- 6:16Speaker 6: You gotta ask, You got to believe, and you got
- 6:20Speaker 6: to receive it. You gotta act as though as that.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Now there's another part now to this about work. You
- 6:26Speaker 6: don't please. Faith with our works is dead. Don't think
- 6:29Speaker 6: you're gonna just ask for something believing and then go
- 6:31Speaker 6: sit down, start watching TV. Come on, now, let's get real.
- 6:34Speaker 6: Let's not leave out the other jewel. You got to work.
- 6:39Speaker 6: But now here hear what I want you to know
- 6:43Speaker 6: about when you strike out on that mission, that the
- 6:47Speaker 6: journey that you strike out on to accomplish a goal
- 6:52Speaker 6: or to set out on the mission. The journey, if
- 6:56Speaker 6: you could understand this, or to help you so much,
- 6:58Speaker 6: the journey is a process. It's not an arrival date.
- 7:04Speaker 6: It's a process. All you're looking to do, folks, is
- 7:09Speaker 6: start the process. Get it started. Don't worry about the
- 7:17Speaker 6: arrival date. Act like it's there. The arrival date is coming.
- 7:23Speaker 6: But here is the beauty of the journey being a process.
- 7:30Speaker 6: But all along the way of your journey you will
- 7:34Speaker 6: find success the whole time you're on the on the journey,
- 7:41Speaker 6: the whole time you're in the process of finding your mission,
- 7:44Speaker 6: fulfilling your mission, uncovering your dreams, reaching your goals. The
- 7:49Speaker 6: beauty of it is all along the way you're going
- 7:53Speaker 6: to find success on so many levels. And people fail
- 7:59Speaker 6: to look at the part. They keep thinking of themselves, Man,
- 8:03Speaker 6: I ain't there yet, I ain't you know. It's like
- 8:06Speaker 6: when you take a little kid on a long car
- 8:08Speaker 6: tripping there in the back seat. Are we there yet?
- 8:10Speaker 6: Are we there yet?
- 8:11Speaker 1: Boy?
- 8:11Speaker 6: If you just look out the window, see where we
- 8:16Speaker 6: done being? Look out the window, look at the mountains,
- 8:19Speaker 6: Look at these trees, look at the views we got. No,
- 8:23Speaker 6: we ain't there yet. But Lord have mercy. Look at
- 8:26Speaker 6: what he's showing us along the way. Smell the roses,
- 8:32Speaker 6: have yourself a cup of coffee, chill every now and then,
- 8:37Speaker 6: and see what he's doing for you. Because the journey
- 8:41Speaker 6: is a process. But man, know that in the process
- 8:44Speaker 6: of arriving at your designated gold dream, ambition, or mission.
- 8:50Speaker 6: Understand this, that the journey is a process. But all
- 8:54Speaker 6: along the way you'll find success. That are things that
- 8:57Speaker 6: are going to happen to you along the way, man,
- 9:00Speaker 6: that will be so gratifying and fulfilling. Where the journey
- 9:05Speaker 6: is joyful, there is joy in the journey. You don't
- 9:10Speaker 6: have to be there to appreciate the ride. Appreciate the
- 9:16Speaker 6: journey and the process. Stop getting mad because you ain't
- 9:20Speaker 6: at the arrival dat or your dreams ain't come true yet.
- 9:23Speaker 6: Look up, Look up. You might discover, man, that you
- 9:28Speaker 6: living better. You might discover that you don't have a
- 9:30Speaker 6: million yet, but you'd have made a quarter of a million.
- 9:33Speaker 6: What you tripping for because you ain't got the million yet?
- 9:35Speaker 6: Remember when you didn't have nothing? Be grateful for the
- 9:39Speaker 6: two hundred and fifty thousand dollar mark, the one hundred
- 9:42Speaker 6: thousand dollars mark, the three hundred and twenty two thousand
- 9:46Speaker 6: dollars mark. Don't you understand, man, you may not be
- 9:49Speaker 6: where you wanna be, But man, can't you thank God
- 9:52Speaker 6: that you ain't where you was? How about that? One?
- 9:55Speaker 1: Huh?
- 9:56Speaker 6: All right?
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Ladies and gentlemen, It has happened again, over and over
- 10:09Speaker 6: and over that God, the one we mentioned all the time.
- 10:13Speaker 6: He just keeps coming through. Another day, another chance, another opportunity,
- 10:17Speaker 6: another blessing, another gift from God. You are here, take
- 10:21Speaker 6: advantage of it. Start with gratitude. It affect your attitude,
- 10:24Speaker 6: which is in direct correlation to your altitude. Get it together, y'all, Yeah,
- 10:29Speaker 6: give God some glory. Start there. Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 10:33Speaker 6: Shirley Strawberry calling for real Mississippi Monica Junior and the
- 10:37Speaker 6: legend that he is. Nephew Tommy Junior. What's going on today? Plan?
- 10:42Speaker 7: You know, you talk about this a lot about getting
- 10:45Speaker 7: into the circle that you need to be in, getting
- 10:47Speaker 7: into the right circle, and how fast do we need
- 10:50Speaker 7: to get there, and what's the benefit of us getting there?
- 10:52Speaker 6: Well, let me say this to you. Somebody told me
- 10:55Speaker 6: once to take out a pen and paper and write
- 10:59Speaker 6: down on your five closest associates and friends, and then
- 11:05Speaker 6: beside their names, write down their qualities, write down their
- 11:10Speaker 6: qualities and any flaws they have. Just simple one word,
- 11:13Speaker 6: you know, strong, caring, you know, a loof whatever it is. Now,
- 11:17Speaker 6: when you get through with those five people, you have
- 11:20Speaker 6: just described yourself. Because see, when it comes to your
- 11:24Speaker 6: people that you associate with in your circle, you actually
- 11:26Speaker 6: get to pick them. So what you end up doing
- 11:29Speaker 6: inadvertently and you don't even realize it, is you pick
- 11:32Speaker 6: people who you have similarities with. That's how you become friends.
- 11:38Speaker 6: I heard John O'Brien say something, if you hang around
- 11:42Speaker 6: nine broke people, you will be number ten.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Ah.
- 11:47Speaker 6: Command association brings on participation. Now, who you pick and
- 11:55Speaker 6: choose to associate with is up to you. The sad
- 11:59Speaker 6: part about this election process is most people, instead of
- 12:04Speaker 6: choosing alone, just gonna pick somebody so they can have somebody.
- 12:09Speaker 6: But everybody ain't good for you. How many times have
- 12:14Speaker 6: you discovered somebody wasn't good for you? God, how many
- 12:20Speaker 6: times have you discovered somebody was around you that had
- 12:23Speaker 6: an agenda?
- 12:27Speaker 5: You know what?
- 12:27Speaker 6: The guy worked for me, he told me one time,
- 12:29Speaker 6: and I argue with him in the ground until he
- 12:32Speaker 6: proved it to me. He said, mister h loyalty has
- 12:37Speaker 6: an expiration date. And I thought that was the most
- 12:41Speaker 6: asinine thing you could say to me, because I'm a
- 12:43Speaker 6: loyal person to the end. But that's the problem. I'm
- 12:48Speaker 6: a loyal person to the end and everybody, but usually
- 12:51Speaker 6: and oftentimes what you find out is the person that
- 12:54Speaker 6: you're loyal to has stopped being loyal to you a
- 12:57Speaker 6: long time ago, has an expiration date, and you need
- 13:03Speaker 6: to learn how to recognize it, because if you can
- 13:06Speaker 6: recognize the expiration dates, then you can end your loyalty too.
- 13:11Speaker 6: But how many times have you stayed too long? I
- 13:14Speaker 6: stayed so long until it costs me money. Yeah, in
- 13:18Speaker 6: both cases. Even the guy that tart it to me
- 13:21Speaker 6: stole from me. That's amazing, man.
- 13:25Speaker 8: Wow.
- 13:26Speaker 6: And as my father used to always tell me, best
- 13:28Speaker 6: lesson is a bolt lesson. The one you paid for
- 13:32Speaker 6: is the one you learned the best. And I sure did.
- 13:36Speaker 5: So.
- 13:36Speaker 6: Change your association.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Check your friend groups, all right?
- 13:39Speaker 9: Coming up at thirty two minutes after the hour, we'll
- 13:41Speaker 9: hear from a nephew as he runs that Frank back.
- 13:44Speaker 9: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Hey,
- 13:53Speaker 9: everyone's quick health question. Even though you're still thriving, still loving,
- 13:57Speaker 9: still connecting, did you know your immune system weekends with age.
- 14:01Speaker 9: That's where vaccines come in. They helped train and strengthen
- 14:04Speaker 9: your immune response to fight off certain respiratory illnesses like flu,
- 14:08Speaker 9: new macasco pneumonia, RSV and COVID nineteen this fall. Ask
- 14:13Speaker 9: your doctor which vaccines you need and visit vaxsist dot com.
- 14:17Speaker 9: That's vaexsist dot com to schedule one or more of
- 14:20Speaker 9: vaccines sponsored by Pfizer.
- 14:23Speaker 1: All right, the nephew is here to run that prank back.
- 14:26Speaker 1: What you got first, nef, This is right.
- 14:28Speaker 10: Here is no hair weaves, ladies, no hair weaves. Okay, No,
- 14:35Speaker 10: that's not okay.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Don't be saying it like it's cool.
- 14:38Speaker 9: What your decision?
- 14:39Speaker 6: Hey, hey, hey, he break right.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Here is no heavens.
- 14:44Speaker 6: I set the tone and I set the rules.
- 14:47Speaker 9: No hair week, all right, pretty tony, No, let's go
- 14:53Speaker 9: get no weeds.
- 14:56Speaker 11: Hello.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Hello, I'm trying to reach Resa. Please recent Hi Resa.
- 15:01Speaker 5: My name is Byron, Byron from the job. How are you.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I'm okay?
- 15:05Speaker 5: How are you? I'm good? Listen, I hate to call
- 15:07Speaker 5: you after hours. That's your home. But there has been
- 15:10Speaker 5: some new issues that will be going into effect. That
- 15:13Speaker 5: was just tomorrow morning, and we're calling everyone letting them
- 15:17Speaker 5: know the new changes that have been issued that will
- 15:20Speaker 5: take effect first thing tomorrow morning. So we're giving everyone
- 15:23Speaker 5: a call. So don't be alarmed. It's just give me
- 15:26Speaker 5: a call. Letting you know what the what the higher
- 15:28Speaker 5: ups have changed.
- 15:29Speaker 12: Okay, okay, that's no problem to listen.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Okay, As of tomorrow, what's gonna happen is when you
- 15:34Speaker 5: guys come in, you'll be issued a new key card,
- 15:37Speaker 5: and that particular card will actually registers when you come
- 15:41Speaker 5: in and go out. Okay, okay, all right. Second one
- 15:44Speaker 5: is there will no longer be any personal internet at
- 15:47Speaker 5: the job any longer. You won't be able. They're actually
- 15:50Speaker 5: putting a block on all computers. All the computers will
- 15:53Speaker 5: no longer be able to go to a lot of
- 15:56Speaker 5: these sites that you guys go to that you've been
- 15:59Speaker 5: that's been available here in the past. Okay, okay, all right.
- 16:03Speaker 5: The last one is reesa do you do you wear
- 16:06Speaker 5: a hair weave? What do you wear a hair weave
- 16:10Speaker 5: or a wig?
- 16:11Speaker 13: Yes?
- 16:12Speaker 5: Okay, Well here's one thing, and hopefully you can get
- 16:15Speaker 5: this change about tomorrow. There's no weaves or hair are
- 16:19Speaker 5: wigs going to be allowed at the job site from
- 16:23Speaker 5: this point on, So as of tomorrow morning, everyone must
- 16:26Speaker 5: be wearing their natural hair. You're uh no. These are
- 16:30Speaker 5: the issues that are going to be that are instated,
- 16:33Speaker 5: and these are going to take effect as of tomorrow
- 16:35Speaker 5: morning seven o'clock.
- 16:37Speaker 12: What does hair weaves to have to do with any
- 16:38Speaker 12: of these changes? The first two I can understand punching
- 16:41Speaker 12: in and being on the internet. Yes, that's something that
- 16:45Speaker 12: that corporate. But hair weave and weeks are you get
- 16:48Speaker 12: any change?
- 16:51Speaker 5: Are they're looking down upon it? Wigs and hair weaves
- 16:55Speaker 5: they have to go. So I'm assuming that if you,
- 16:59Speaker 5: like you said, you do have one, I suggest it
- 17:02Speaker 5: doesn't come out there. You start taking it down now
- 17:04Speaker 5: and prepare your hair to be natural as you come
- 17:07Speaker 5: in to work tomorrow.
- 17:08Speaker 12: I'm not taking my hair down. I've been here seven
- 17:10Speaker 12: years and I've dealt with all the changes that y'all
- 17:12Speaker 12: have made. But there's no way that I'm taking my
- 17:15Speaker 12: hair weave down. I'm sorry. What's your name, Byron?
- 17:18Speaker 5: Yes, my name is Byron, and I'm sorry. Let's get
- 17:22Speaker 5: back to your weave. This has You're gonna have to
- 17:24Speaker 5: do something. Is there someone that you can call tonight
- 17:28Speaker 5: to help you get your hair down and so you
- 17:29Speaker 5: can look presentable with your natural hair tomorrow.
- 17:32Speaker 12: No, my weave colls over two three hundred dollars and
- 17:35Speaker 12: I'm not about to take that down. I mean it
- 17:38Speaker 12: takes a long time to take that down.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Okay, I mean, is this something Maybe you can take
- 17:44Speaker 5: it down and just wear it on the weekends because
- 17:46Speaker 5: as of now, you're not going to be allowed to
- 17:48Speaker 5: actually wear it on the property.
- 17:50Speaker 12: And how will you know if someone has weave or not?
- 17:52Speaker 12: Are you going to do hair checks or something?
- 17:55Speaker 5: Okay, ma'am, I'm not quite sure what they're going to
- 17:58Speaker 5: do to check it. But by you telling me that
- 18:01Speaker 5: you have a weave, then I have to write it
- 18:04Speaker 5: down that you have confirmed that you do, and we
- 18:07Speaker 5: got to make sure that tomorrow morning you're not wearing one.
- 18:10Speaker 12: But you don't know what my natural hair looks like
- 18:12Speaker 12: from my weave. You heard how much I pay for it,
- 18:15Speaker 12: So it's a good weave, ma'am.
- 18:17Speaker 5: It's not about how good you know with the quality
- 18:20Speaker 5: of your weave or anything. They don't want it. They
- 18:22Speaker 5: want natural hair. I don't know what that means. But
- 18:26Speaker 5: they're going natural, they're going green, they're going natural. I
- 18:28Speaker 5: don't know what it is. They're going natural, and so
- 18:31Speaker 5: will you. Tomorrow morning you need to come in with
- 18:33Speaker 5: your hair completely down. Okay, I won't do it.
- 18:37Speaker 12: I'm not taking my weave now.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Okay, what is that y'all.
- 18:39Speaker 12: Gonna write me up or something?
- 18:41Speaker 5: Okay, ma'am, do you not want your job? Yeah?
- 18:43Speaker 12: I want my job, but this don't make no sense.
- 18:45Speaker 12: You're talking about personal appearance. I can understand y'all have
- 18:49Speaker 12: a dress coach and enforcing a dress code, that's one thing.
- 18:53Speaker 12: But telling somebody to change they have you lost your mind?
- 18:56Speaker 5: Man?
- 18:57Speaker 12: You're crazy, ma'am.
- 18:58Speaker 5: I'm not gonna I have other people that have to call.
- 19:00Speaker 5: Bottom line is get your hat out and get your
- 19:03Speaker 5: butt into work tomorrow, and let's not go back and
- 19:06Speaker 5: forth anymore.
- 19:06Speaker 12: Okay, Well, listen, by ranch, you're a lost mine. If
- 19:10Speaker 12: you thinking I'm taking my weave out, I'm not taking
- 19:14Speaker 12: out at all. Resa is coming up in there with
- 19:17Speaker 12: her hair, and I'm gonna sit down at my desk
- 19:19Speaker 12: and do my jobs. Y'all won't have to drag me
- 19:21Speaker 12: out some weeds. You lost your mind? You and your
- 19:25Speaker 12: powers that be or whoever they may be. You tell
- 19:28Speaker 12: them that I said that.
- 19:30Speaker 5: Wait a minute, Wait a minute, listen. Are you telling
- 19:32Speaker 5: me that you're coming in regardless with your hair on you?
- 19:36Speaker 12: That's what I just said?
- 19:37Speaker 5: O God? Are you? Then? Then we need to why
- 19:41Speaker 5: don't you go ahead and bring some boxes in because
- 19:43Speaker 5: you I'm not you bring this, ma'am. I don't want
- 19:48Speaker 5: to have to pack. You get your stuff and box
- 19:49Speaker 5: it up, and you're losing your job because you can't
- 19:52Speaker 5: take no what you can do that?
- 19:54Speaker 12: Because I'm gonna call the news station and tell them
- 19:56Speaker 12: you're dragging me out of behind some weeds.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Who you wrong?
- 20:00Speaker 12: You wrong? You stupid behind you.
- 20:04Speaker 5: You need to watch your language, young lady.
- 20:05Speaker 12: Why I need to watch my language?
- 20:07Speaker 6: I'm at home.
- 20:07Speaker 12: You call me on my own home phone on my time.
- 20:11Speaker 5: I'm at my house.
- 20:12Speaker 12: I'm not on your block. I say what I want
- 20:14Speaker 12: to say on my phone.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Okay? Can I say what I want on my phone?
- 20:17Speaker 5: And then I'll let you go and you can come
- 20:19Speaker 5: into the work anywhere you want to tomorrow. What is it, baba?
- 20:22Speaker 12: What else you got to say?
- 20:23Speaker 5: I want to tell you. I want to tell you
- 20:26Speaker 5: that your girlfriend Jennifer at your job got me the
- 20:29Speaker 5: prank phone. Call you. This is Nephew Tommy from the
- 20:33Speaker 5: Steve Harvey Morning Show. I know you, hey, reasons. This
- 20:42Speaker 5: is this is Nephew tilling me baby from the Steve

- 20:51Speaker 12: tomorrow and I'm gonna pull Homewie you out. You want
- 20:54Speaker 12: to come down there and watch me dragon out of

- 21:01Speaker 12: me behind my weave. I paid too much money.
- 21:03Speaker 5: I definitely have spent on my kids. Ain't nothing like
- 21:06Speaker 5: a black woman in her half. I got one more
- 21:11Speaker 5: thing to ask you, girl, what is the baddest radio
- 21:14Speaker 5: show in the land. Well, after this.
- 21:16Speaker 12: Prank, he has to be the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 21:20Speaker 1: God, nah, no, I'd be.
- 21:25Speaker 9: Back all right, nephew, thank you. Coming up next, it
- 21:30Speaker 9: is asked the COLO or Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey
- 21:32Speaker 9: in the building. Right after this, you're listening to the
- 21:36Speaker 9: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Hi, this is Shirley's Strawberry and
- 21:44Speaker 9: I'm partnering with the Leaves. Let me tell you it
- 21:46Speaker 9: couldn't have come at a better time. I'm o some
- 21:49Speaker 9: furniture around last weekend in my new place. It turns
- 21:52Speaker 9: out that was a really bad idea because all that
- 21:54Speaker 9: bending and lifting and pretending I'm still twenty five didn't
- 21:58Speaker 9: agree with my knees. So I grabbed a lead because
- 22:01Speaker 9: when my body pain shows up, I need something that lasts.
- 22:04Speaker 9: With just one pill, a lead last up to twelve hours.
- 22:07Speaker 9: Don't let those aches and pains hold you back from
- 22:10Speaker 9: doing what's important to you. Use as directed. Coming up
- 22:13Speaker 9: at the top of the hour, our special guest is
- 22:16Speaker 9: a newly published author, a TV designer on The Drew
- 22:21Speaker 9: Barrymore Show, and a notable interior designer. It's Michel Welch
- 22:26Speaker 9: and he's joining us to tell us all about his
- 22:28Speaker 9: brand new book called The Forever Home.
- 22:30Speaker 1: It's out now.
- 22:31Speaker 9: That's at the top of the hour, But right now
- 22:34Speaker 9: it is time to ask the clo our Chief Love Officer,
- 22:37Speaker 9: Steve Harvey.
- 22:38Speaker 5: Here we go.
- 22:39Speaker 9: Steve's CLO kenrick in Ackworth writes, I left my phone
- 22:44Speaker 9: in my girlfriend's car and she told me that she
- 22:46Speaker 9: didn't check my text. She said she checked my bank
- 22:50Speaker 9: balance instead. Why is she concerned when we're not that serious?
- 22:54Speaker 9: Am I dealing with a gold digger? Or should I
- 22:57Speaker 9: expect that.
- 23:00Speaker 6: You just made some statements that you don't know the
- 23:03Speaker 6: answer to you? Why would she check that? And we
- 23:06Speaker 6: not that serious? I promise you she think y'all serious.
- 23:10Speaker 6: I'll give you my word on that. You know, and
- 23:13Speaker 6: I don't know how y'all do. How y'all think y'all
- 23:15Speaker 6: sleeping with these women?
- 23:16Speaker 4: Now?
- 23:16Speaker 6: Don't think that's serious? How y'all?
- 23:19Speaker 5: What?
- 23:25Speaker 6: But see, why have you when you first met her,
- 23:29Speaker 6: did you mention to her, Hey, look, I'm just into
- 23:32Speaker 6: casual sex. Did you ever mention that you or you
- 23:38Speaker 6: mentioned the standard. I'm looking for somebody that I could
- 23:41Speaker 6: build a life with one day, settle down, maybe have
- 23:44Speaker 6: a family, and then they plug theirself into that because
- 23:47Speaker 6: you know how to say what they want to hear.
- 23:48Speaker 6: Is that's what you said? Or did you openly tell
- 23:51Speaker 6: her no, I just want to have casual sex. And
- 23:53Speaker 6: now she going through your phone. She ain't check your text,
- 23:56Speaker 6: but she check your bank account when it ain't that serious.
- 23:59Speaker 6: Stops leaping when women thinking it ain't serious, come.
- 24:03Speaker 1: On that part? Come on, yeah, drop the mic.
- 24:06Speaker 6: I love it. She saw that dog, can't.
- 24:13Speaker 1: She's lying in here.
- 24:15Speaker 9: They're both lying, all right. Moving on to Janets and
- 24:18Speaker 9: Brooklyn Jane's writes. My husband and I tried a new
- 24:21Speaker 9: restaurant that he had been dying to take me to.
- 24:24Speaker 9: It was one of those places with a lot of
- 24:27Speaker 9: sexy women working with sexy women working with their boob showing?
- 24:30Speaker 9: Was that disrespectful? Or am I reading too much into it?
- 24:33Speaker 9: Should I be mad?
- 24:37Speaker 6: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, Hooters ain't that good of restaurant. Yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 6: y'all need to change, y'all upgrade that just Hooters. Lady
- 24:47Speaker 6: Tommy say it's a place called Twin Peaks. Yeah, either one,
- 24:52Speaker 6: either one of them two. Yeah, they may't find that
- 24:55Speaker 6: he take her there? I don't know, is that true?
- 25:00Speaker 9: Do you want to take someone to?
- 25:04Speaker 6: Uh not the Hooters.
- 25:09Speaker 8: Sports?
- 25:10Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 25:12Speaker 6: I don't like them nursing stockings they well, so ain't
- 25:15Speaker 6: a big deal.
- 25:15Speaker 5: For me with you?
- 25:19Speaker 6: He's right about the ugly's them ugly nursing stockings that
- 25:23Speaker 6: they be wearing look like support holes fish. Well, you know,
- 25:29Speaker 6: if you're gonna take a long flight, I can understand
- 25:31Speaker 6: you wearing a compression.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Youth.
- 25:37Speaker 6: Uh No, I didn't say nothing, but I just don't.
- 25:40Speaker 6: I don't like the little old lady stockings about. And
- 25:48Speaker 6: then Hooters went through a fall off period too. Do
- 25:51Speaker 6: you mean they just started letting anybody work there?
- 25:55Speaker 1: Okay, we're moving on.
- 25:57Speaker 6: You could work there without Hooters?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, moving on? To a treas in Tampa.
- 26:10Speaker 9: The treat writes, I almost had sex with a guy
- 26:13Speaker 9: in my car, but the police rode through the parking
- 26:16Speaker 9: lot of a club. He called and said we should
- 26:19Speaker 9: try it again in the car if he can't spring
- 26:22Speaker 9: for a hotel room or come over to my house.
- 26:24Speaker 9: Should I be messing with this dude?
- 26:26Speaker 6: Yeah? I mean, look, your first time was in a car.
- 26:29Speaker 6: You a conquered Wow, you a cargirl. Why would he
- 26:34Speaker 6: treat you better if you didn't require to be treated better.
- 26:38Speaker 6: If you wanted to climb in the backseat of a car,
- 26:41Speaker 6: then let's do it in the car. Let's try to
- 26:42Speaker 6: get in the car. I ain't got to get no
- 26:44Speaker 6: room your cargirl.
- 26:47Speaker 9: Cargirl?
- 26:49Speaker 6: Wow, that's so uncomfortable.
- 26:53Speaker 1: What what's uncomfortable? Having so Steve?
- 26:59Speaker 9: I mean, obviously she needs some real health here. Coo,
- 27:02Speaker 9: she's saying. Should I be messing with this?
- 27:05Speaker 6: Dude?
- 27:06Speaker 9: I get what you're saying. You're starcasm, but you have
- 27:09Speaker 9: to tell her.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yeah, stop, lady, stop requirement.
- 27:14Speaker 6: Something happened. Say look this is what you do. Say. Hey,
- 27:19Speaker 6: look my mistake. I got a little tipsy. I wasn't
- 27:24Speaker 6: myself looking back on it. That's not even me. I
- 27:27Speaker 6: should have never been out there, but I found you attractive.
- 27:29Speaker 6: I got caught up in a moment, but that'll never
- 27:31Speaker 6: happen again. I apologize for misguiding you, but I don't
- 27:36Speaker 6: I don't really expect to be treated that way. Thank you.
- 27:39Speaker 6: If you're interested in calling me and we want to
- 27:41Speaker 6: do it on a proper date, I'm willing to look
- 27:43Speaker 6: at it and start from scratch, but I'm not going
- 27:46Speaker 6: to start in a car. And I apologize for presenting
- 27:50Speaker 6: myself that way because that's not who I am and
- 27:53Speaker 6: it will never happen again. And you don't have yourself
- 27:56Speaker 6: some dignity, You.
- 27:57Speaker 9: Have value and self worth, that's right.
- 28:01Speaker 6: Lead on top of the car. You ain't got to
- 28:03Speaker 6: be inside you do on top of y'all got some room.
- 28:10Speaker 6: That's why. That's why they don't have him in this segment.
- 28:15Speaker 9: He obviously doesn't get that Scotti and Phoenix are last one.
- 28:22Speaker 9: Steve Scottie writes, my girlfriend dogs. My girlfriend's dog sleeps
- 28:27Speaker 9: with her when I stay with her, out of respect
- 28:30Speaker 9: for the dog, I sleep on the couch. The dog
- 28:34Speaker 9: comes to bother me on the couch, and she thinks
- 28:36Speaker 9: it's so cute. Can I be honest and tell her
- 28:39Speaker 9: that I hate her dog? Or is that too harsh?
- 28:44Speaker 6: You know, so out of respect for the dog, But
- 28:47Speaker 6: you you you open up out of respect for the dog.
- 28:53Speaker 6: I don't have as you really wrote the wrong person.
- 28:58Speaker 1: So you don't have what respect about.
- 29:02Speaker 9: Not at all, especially if he's if he's got your
- 29:06Speaker 9: spot in the bedroom next.
- 29:09Speaker 6: D o, g dog get to be in there, get
- 29:15Speaker 6: in the flow, get over that place. All dogs should
- 29:20Speaker 6: know the workplace, and then he gona get on his
- 29:22Speaker 6: spot place and they know all my dogs have ever
- 29:27Speaker 6: known place. They got a spot that they go to
- 29:29Speaker 6: call place. Find it, go sit down over there. Don't
- 29:34Speaker 6: ever get up on this furniture. You sure ain't getting
- 29:36Speaker 6: on this bed.
- 29:38Speaker 1: In the bed this is her dog is in the
- 29:40Speaker 1: bed with.
- 29:41Speaker 6: Her walking all on the ground outside. Ain't wiping feet
- 29:44Speaker 6: and come getting them in now? Yeah?
- 29:47Speaker 5: No?
- 29:48Speaker 1: So so so his question is can he be honest
- 29:51Speaker 1: with her and tell her that he hates her dog?
- 29:52Speaker 6: Or is that you you know it's losing her. But
- 29:58Speaker 6: she already she already strong about that dog than you
- 30:01Speaker 6: because she gave me. Did you sleep on the couch
- 30:03Speaker 6: out of respect for the dog? I'd have been to said,
- 30:06Speaker 6: I'm not sleeping on the couch for this dog.
- 30:09Speaker 5: She didn't do.
- 30:13Speaker 9: Wow, All right, thank you Colo. Coming up at the
- 30:16Speaker 9: top of the hour, you have our special guest in
- 30:19Speaker 9: the building, Michel Welch, author of The Forever Home.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 30:31Speaker 9: All right, ladies and gentlemen, our special guest is a
- 30:34Speaker 9: new author, a TV designer on the Drew Barrymore Talk Show,
- 30:39Speaker 9: and a notable interior designer. He goes way back with
- 30:43Speaker 9: Steve Harvey as the set designer for your Steve Talk Show,
- 30:47Speaker 9: Steve in Chicago. He's a good friend of the show
- 30:50Speaker 9: and he's here now to tell us about his brand
- 30:52Speaker 9: new book, hot off the Presence. It's called The Forever Home.
- 30:56Speaker 9: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the show. Michael Welch,
- 31:05Speaker 9: Hey you.
- 31:06Speaker 5: Doing, I'm doing great.
- 31:08Speaker 14: You know the book is out finally and uh yeah,
- 31:12Speaker 14: I just can't believe it.
- 31:15Speaker 9: Well we can, and we're very happy for you. And
- 31:18Speaker 9: congratulations again Michael. Now, you and Steve. If our audience
- 31:24Speaker 9: doesn't know you guys have a history with your daytime
- 31:26Speaker 9: talk show, that was the first time you even you
- 31:29Speaker 9: ever did set design for a national TV show?
- 31:33Speaker 5: Now, what was that like?
- 31:34Speaker 9: We know what it's like, but what was it like
- 31:36Speaker 9: for you to work with Steve Harvey design that you.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Know, well, you know he's very particular.
- 31:44Speaker 2: I mean.
- 31:47Speaker 5: You think you think very particular.
- 31:51Speaker 14: You know, he wants everything masculine and smokey. And please
- 31:54Speaker 14: don't bring that man any small.
- 31:55Speaker 13: Furniture because I learned the hard way.
- 32:00Speaker 14: If he cannot, you know, he needs to be able
- 32:03Speaker 14: to sit next year and have a lot of space
- 32:05Speaker 14: because you're gonna hear about it. And I learned the
- 32:07Speaker 14: hard way not to bring them in any small furniture.
- 32:09Speaker 6: So we ain't in no tiny house. We don't need
- 32:12Speaker 6: no tiny and I ain't no tiny man. So but
- 32:20Speaker 6: you did good though.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Man.
- 32:21Speaker 6: He decorated not only on the set, but he decorated
- 32:25Speaker 6: my private dressing rooms, which was really very really really dope.
- 32:31Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, so miel So, so tell us about the
- 32:35Speaker 6: new book, man.
- 32:36Speaker 15: Yeah, So the book is called The four everr Home.
- 32:40Speaker 15: Of course, Drew Barrymore she wrote the fourth for the book.
- 32:42Speaker 15: But honestly, it's really about all of the design tips
- 32:45Speaker 15: that we learned in Chicago, and I'm basically teaching people
- 32:49Speaker 15: how they will get magazine worthy looks without spending a
- 32:52Speaker 15: lot of money, because let's face it, everybody doesn't have
- 32:55Speaker 15: millions of dollars like.
- 32:56Speaker 5: You to you know, pull off the face. So I
- 33:00Speaker 5: have to tell them how to get to me.
- 33:07Speaker 6: I detected a little hate and everybody ain't got a dollar.
- 33:11Speaker 1: In the true statement, I'm trying to teach them how
- 33:16Speaker 1: to live like you, just.
- 33:18Speaker 5: You know, on different foot.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Have you have you ever decorated Mississippi Monica's house?
- 33:24Speaker 5: Oh you know what I did?
- 33:27Speaker 6: I did and how we had experienced.
- 33:31Speaker 9: Well, you know, we had to work through.
- 33:34Speaker 6: It because you know, she is very particular.
- 33:36Speaker 5: She tried to do your job, so I don't know
- 33:39Speaker 5: that she.
- 33:39Speaker 8: Is necessarily by Yeah, she likes to do your job.
- 33:43Speaker 8: She's gonna tell you how to do and then double
- 33:45Speaker 8: check the prices.
- 33:46Speaker 5: It is a lot, but.
- 33:51Speaker 10: You shouldn't have to buy now. She got a whole
- 33:53Speaker 10: closet full of stuff that's blown to us. She got
- 33:55Speaker 10: a old Yeah, I.
- 33:58Speaker 14: Didn't know about this closet.
- 34:02Speaker 8: You might have to talk online about this closet, Michel in.
- 34:06Speaker 9: Your book Forever Home, which is out right now, give
- 34:10Speaker 9: us some tips, like what are the trends in homes.
- 34:13Speaker 8: Yeah, now, I think one of the biggest trends right
- 34:15Speaker 8: now people love color watching the wall.
- 34:17Speaker 5: That's basically where you're.
- 34:19Speaker 14: Adding like a fan sentiment to the wall.
- 34:21Speaker 9: It adds a lot of you know, texture to the wall.
- 34:23Speaker 5: So those are really huge.
- 34:24Speaker 14: And then the other thing that people are straying away
- 34:27Speaker 14: from it is that blue cley fabric.
- 34:29Speaker 6: You all know that one white.
- 34:30Speaker 8: Little fabric that yeah, everybody's.
- 34:33Speaker 14: Been putting on furniture.
- 34:34Speaker 9: Yeah, it's time to let that go.
- 34:36Speaker 5: But the book has a lot of like.
- 34:38Speaker 8: Design ships that have diagrams that have pictures so we
- 34:41Speaker 8: can like literally see what to do so you don't
- 34:44Speaker 8: mess it up.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Okay, what kind of advice can you give people?
- 34:47Speaker 16: Because it takes a lot to decorate your home and
- 34:50Speaker 16: redesign or refresh it and then when you get your
- 34:53Speaker 16: coins together to do all of that, and then the
- 34:56Speaker 16: certain trends in certain styles are going away.
- 35:00Speaker 1: How do you.
- 35:04Speaker 6: A while, sir, And by the time you got money,
- 35:07Speaker 6: it was out of style.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know what, I come and.
- 35:14Speaker 5: Go, you know, quickly, so I know what you're saying.
- 35:18Speaker 14: So the thing with that is, don't try to do
- 35:20Speaker 14: trends on major like fixtures, like things that are permanent,
- 35:25Speaker 14: because those are gonna cost you a lot of money.
- 35:27Speaker 5: Try to stick to.
- 35:28Speaker 14: Like trendy things are like access free or something that
- 35:31Speaker 14: you know you can easily just.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Pick up with one finger and change it.
- 35:35Speaker 14: Because when you try to like change and go with
- 35:38Speaker 14: the trends on things that are like permanent fixtures, that's
- 35:41Speaker 14: where you mess up with Only stick to the trends
- 35:44Speaker 14: on things that you can easily replace by just running
- 35:46Speaker 14: down to your local store.
- 35:48Speaker 6: Don't try to go create you gotcha, like like, for example,
- 35:52Speaker 6: this lamp that Monica got on her zoom that that
- 35:57Speaker 6: could easily be just taken away, so we purpose over there.
- 36:05Speaker 9: You've been doing book signings all week. Tonight you will
- 36:08Speaker 9: be in Atlanta, Georgia with a book signing. Have you
- 36:11Speaker 9: gotten great turnouts at your book signings? How's that been
- 36:14Speaker 9: going for you?
- 36:15Speaker 15: The book?
- 36:15Speaker 6: Where's the book signing in Atlanta?
- 36:18Speaker 8: This one is going to be at the Design House
- 36:21Speaker 8: in Atlanta from five to eight pm.
- 36:24Speaker 15: That one's to be a lot of fun and the
- 36:26Speaker 15: turnout has been great.
- 36:27Speaker 14: We've had over one hundred and eighty people last night,
- 36:29Speaker 14: So people have been showing out the support.
- 36:32Speaker 8: But Atlanta, we invite you to come grab a cocktail,
- 36:36Speaker 8: buy a bookselves who.
- 36:37Speaker 14: Don't just come here and drink.
- 36:38Speaker 6: But you know, Shirley, where can everybody buy the book?
- 36:42Speaker 9: App It's called The Forever Home. It's available now online

- 37:49Speaker 9: The conditions of Diddy's release were revealed this week. When
- 37:54Speaker 9: he is released from federal prison, Diddy has to follow
- 37:56Speaker 9: these guidelines. He must submit to searches and cannot communicate
- 38:01Speaker 9: with any of the victims in the case. He must
- 38:04Speaker 9: also enroll in an outpatient treatment program for drug abuse
- 38:08Speaker 9: and mental health issues. He has to get involved in
- 38:11Speaker 9: a preapproved domestic violence program and did He cannot have
- 38:15Speaker 9: access to firearms or any objects or devices that could
- 38:19Speaker 9: be viewed as destructive. So here's the question, Steve, Do
- 38:23Speaker 9: you think that Diddy will come out of prison a
- 38:25Speaker 9: changed man?
- 38:27Speaker 6: Yeah, but he gonna go back though. He gonna break
- 38:28Speaker 6: one of the rules. He gonna break one of the rules.
- 38:32Speaker 6: They gonna have him in their own probation violation because
- 38:35Speaker 6: he's not gonna fire. Hey, They're gonna get him on something.
- 38:40Speaker 6: And then people got it out for him. Now. So
- 38:42Speaker 6: I wish him the best. I mean, I hope he
- 38:44Speaker 6: does get it together. I hope he learns his lesson.
- 38:47Speaker 6: I really do, because I don't I don't. I don't
- 38:50Speaker 6: revel revel in people's demids. I just I just don't. Man. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 6: and no, good for him, I'm happy for him. No, Man,
- 39:00Speaker 6: It's sad what you became, how you took your power
- 39:04Speaker 6: and abused it. How you didn't show appreciation for where
- 39:08Speaker 6: you the level you had reached your life, and you
- 39:11Speaker 6: didn't extend that courtesy to other people. That's the problem.
- 39:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:16Speaker 6: See, you took your grace and favor given by God
- 39:18Speaker 6: and extended none of it to nobody else. You just
- 39:22Speaker 6: took it all yourself. That ain't how this works.
- 39:25Speaker 10: Man.
- 39:26Speaker 6: When God gives you grace and favor, you have to
- 39:28Speaker 6: extend it. Amen. That's num but an abusive power. You're
- 39:36Speaker 6: sitting there now and you had to grapple with that,
- 39:38Speaker 6: and you got time to think about that.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Nothing but that's right, say them again. What he can't do, sir, Okay, he.
- 39:48Speaker 9: Has to submit to searches, he can't communicate with any
- 39:50Speaker 9: of the victims in the case. He has to enroll
- 39:53Speaker 9: in an outpatient drug treatment program, mental health issue program.
- 39:57Speaker 6: See, that's what he ain't gonna show up for. That
- 40:00Speaker 6: gonna be violations. Go ahead. The domestic valve go ahead.
- 40:05Speaker 9: Yeah, he has to get involved in a preapproved domestic
- 40:08Speaker 9: violence program.
- 40:10Speaker 6: He's gonna not show up for that couple of times
- 40:12Speaker 6: telling you what he gonna do.
- 40:14Speaker 9: He cannot have access to firearms, no firearms whatsoever, or
- 40:19Speaker 9: any objects or devices that could be viewed as destructive.
- 40:23Speaker 6: I don't think he'll do that. I think he'll stay.
- 40:25Speaker 9: Away from that from firearms.
- 40:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I'm gonna give him the benefit of
- 40:30Speaker 6: the doubt that you won't do that. But he has
- 40:34Speaker 6: to make sure that the people have around him don't
- 40:37Speaker 6: have it. Yeah, see him, because when you're on probation,
- 40:40Speaker 6: you can't be around it, you dog. They gonna be
- 40:45Speaker 6: on him, man, Yeah, this cat is gonna be Yeah,

- 56:42Speaker 6: you here. It is a Strawberry letter.
- 56:45Speaker 9: Hello, you put some extra sex fe on that I
- 56:48Speaker 9: know you did.
- 56:49Speaker 1: I know you did just a little bit, A little.
- 56:51Speaker 9: Bit, Thank you, nephew. Subject just burn the whole RV.
- 56:57Speaker 9: Dear Stephen Shirley. I am married to a diehard football
- 57:01Speaker 9: fan and we met in college. We went to an
- 57:03Speaker 9: HBCU and for years we have tailgated with friends and
- 57:07Speaker 9: family before home games. I had a minor surgery, so
- 57:11Speaker 9: I had to miss the first home game. When we tailgate,
- 57:14Speaker 9: we take our RV to the stadium, hook up our
- 57:17Speaker 9: deep frier and our grill, and get to cooking early
- 57:21Speaker 9: in the morning.
- 57:21Speaker 1: It's what we do.
- 57:23Speaker 9: I found out recently that my husband did that and
- 57:25Speaker 9: a lot more. While I was at home recuperating. My
- 57:29Speaker 9: girlfriend and her husband stopped by our V in the
- 57:32Speaker 9: morning of the game and she facetimed me to rub
- 57:36Speaker 9: it in and show me what I was missing. I
- 57:38Speaker 9: was tickled at how messy she was being. A few
- 57:41Speaker 9: hours later, she texted me and said she was about
- 57:44Speaker 9: to FaceTime me again, but she told me to put
- 57:47Speaker 9: my phone on mute. I got the call and I
- 57:50Speaker 9: watched my phone as she showed me three women that
- 57:54Speaker 9: I had never seen before drinking and having a.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Great time in our our V.
- 58:00Speaker 9: Then my friend panned over to my husband and he
- 58:03Speaker 9: had a tiny redhead woman sitting on his lap, sitting
- 58:08Speaker 9: on his leg. It was so loud so I couldn't
- 58:11Speaker 9: hear what they were saying. My friend said she met
- 58:13Speaker 9: the woman. She advised me to talk to my husband
- 58:16Speaker 9: before jumping to any conclusions. My only response was that
- 58:21Speaker 9: I was going to burn the whole RV up with
- 58:24Speaker 9: my husband in it. I saw this with my own eyes,
- 58:28Speaker 9: so there was nothing my husband could say to me
- 58:30Speaker 9: to make me believe he's not a cheater. He's accused
- 58:33Speaker 9: my friend of starting this mess, but I never told
- 58:36Speaker 9: him who told me. He claims he's not dumb enough
- 58:39Speaker 9: to have this woman in our RV in front of
- 58:41Speaker 9: our friends, if he was trying to have sex with her.
- 58:44Speaker 9: Does he think I'm dumb? Should I believe that this
- 58:47Speaker 9: was just innocent fun? Okay? You know what. I really
- 58:52Speaker 9: didn't know how to take this letter at first, because
- 58:55Speaker 9: it kind of made me love you. It kind of
- 58:58Speaker 9: made me laugh, Steve. When she said she saw a
- 59:02Speaker 9: tiny red headed woman sitting on his lap, I just
- 59:05Speaker 9: pictured a little doll on his lap in my head
- 59:08Speaker 9: at first, But a tiny read a tiny anyway, then
- 59:15Speaker 9: your friend said, don't jump to conclusions, talk to your
- 59:18Speaker 9: husband first. And who were these other three women? I mean,
- 59:23Speaker 9: where did they come from? It's like he was just
- 59:25Speaker 9: waiting for you to take a day off or something
- 59:27Speaker 9: so he could really really have some fun. But in
- 59:30Speaker 9: what world is another woman sitting on your husband's leg
- 59:34Speaker 9: innocent fun? I don't know any nowhere, And it's not okay.
- 59:39Speaker 9: Your so called friend was dead wrong and the only
- 59:41Speaker 9: reason she would be doing something like this is to
- 59:43Speaker 9: be messy. As you said in your letter, she should
- 59:46Speaker 9: be mad, So you should be mad at her and
- 59:49Speaker 9: your husband, her for not minding her own business, and
- 59:51Speaker 9: your husband for allowing just some random chick, a tiny,
- 59:56Speaker 9: little redheaded woman to sit her butt on his leg.
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: And please don't believe your husband's lives when he says,
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: baby is not what you think when you clearly saw
- 1:00:05Speaker 9: him and this little bitty woman with the red hair
- 1:00:08Speaker 9: in real time with your own eyes. This is something
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: you and your husband need to discuss. You need to
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: talk about this amongst yourselves and not with your girlfriend
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: and her husband and all that. I mean, you know,
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: as far as burning up the whole RV. I understand
- 1:00:25Speaker 9: you know how why you feel that way because you
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: saw this going on. I know you're not going to
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: do that. You were just in the moment, but you
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: and your husband need to talk, honey, and find out
- 1:00:34Speaker 9: what's going on. Steve.
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: Are we about to disagree? Well, that's what the Strawbee
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: letter letter is for. See there's a letter right here. Really,
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: you know how, I say, oftentimes behind every moment of
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: adversity there is a lesson and a blessing. I want
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: you all to see behind this moment of adversity. I
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: want to show I'm going to point out that a
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: lesson in this, and I'm gonna point out the blessing
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: in this. You're married to a diehard football fan. Y'all
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: met in college, went to HBCU tailgated with friends and
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: family before the home games. So you had surgery and
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: you had to miss the first game. We tailgate. You
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: take our ivy to the stadium, hook up the deep
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: fried grill, get the cooking early in the morning. And
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: she said, quite assuredly, this is what we do. And
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: I gotta tell you something sounds like fun to me, man, girl.
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: I often missed a lot of those regular things in
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: life that I wish I could do. My boys be
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: going to the homecoming game and be sending me pictures
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: all my frat boys sitting around. Man, I wish I
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: could go, but I can't because it ain't that way.
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: So I found out recently that my husband did that
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: and a lot more. While I was home recuperating. My
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: girlfriend and her husband stopped by our RV in the
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: morning of the game. She facetimed me to rub it
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: in and show me what I was missing. That's the
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: key statement in this whole letter. She facetimed you to
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: rub it in and show you what you was missing. Oh,
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: she facetimed you for wave mold than that, and she
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: knew it. She's always been jealous of the fact that
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: you and your husband have an RV and they got
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: to come visit because they little raggetts ain't got nothing
- 1:02:42Speaker 6: but tickets to the game. They got a little car
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: with a hatchback on it. They don't even open up
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: and turn into nothing. Hang on, did you Pope tell
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: gate friends you got.
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at
- 1:02:59Speaker 9: twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letter subject
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: just burn the whole RV. We'll get back into it
- 1:03:05Speaker 9: right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Hey, everyone,
- 1:03:15Speaker 9: quick health questions. Even though you're still thriving, still loving,
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: still connecting. Did you know your immune system weakens with age.
- 1:03:23Speaker 9: That's where vaccines come in. They help train and strengthen
- 1:03:26Speaker 9: your immune response to fight off certain respiratory illnesses like
- 1:03:29Speaker 9: flu new Macaco, pneumonia, RSV, and COVID nineteen this fall,
- 1:03:34Speaker 9: ask your doctor which vaccines you need and visit vaxsist
- 1:03:38Speaker 9: dot com that's vaexsist dot com to schedule one or
- 1:03:42Speaker 9: more of vaccines sponsored by Pfizer. All right, come on, Steve,
- 1:03:46Speaker 9: let's recap today's strawberry letter. Subject just burn the whole RV.
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: The truth of this letter is behind every moment of adversity,
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: there has a lesson and a blessing. I've said this
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: many times and almost to you in this letter. Here,
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: this woman and her husband been tailgating for years to
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: go to HBCU's. They get there early in the morning,
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: family and friends. They set up the deep fry and
- 1:04:09Speaker 6: they get the grilling. And she said, it's what we do.
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: I said, I missed those days. I wish I could
- 1:04:15Speaker 6: go back and do that sometime, but I can't, so
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: I wish I could. And then you found out, and
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: then you had a little surgery, so you missed the
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: first game. Now, y'all been doing this for years. First
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: game your husband go Anyway, while I was home in cooperating,
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: your girlfriend and her husband stopped by RV the morning
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: at a game, and she faced me to rub it
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: in and show me what I was missing. And this,
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: I said, is the key to this whole letter. She
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: face timed you to rub it in and show you
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: what you was missing. Now, she didn't call to show
- 1:04:48Speaker 6: you what you was missing in a good way. Girl,
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: you missing and we party now. None of that right there.
- 1:04:54Speaker 6: And because you said I was tickled at how messy
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: she was big it tickled you. Oh you laughing now,
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: because that ain't why she face timed you. She didn't
- 1:05:06Speaker 6: FaceTime you to tickle you. See, your reaction was not
- 1:05:10Speaker 6: what she wanted. But it's all having all that fun
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: without me because she jealous. She jealous of your relationship,
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: she jealous of your happiness, She jealous of your RV
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: because they ain't got one. They got that little ragged hatchback,
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: and when they open it up, it don't turn into nothing.
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: It ain't big enough. They ain't got no deep Friday,
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: ain't got no grill. They got that little tiny grill
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: and sit on the three legs. You can't put but
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: two burgers on that thing. Y'all got that whole set up,
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: and her jealous. Yeah, she got that little webber. Well,
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: you can't put them but eight pieces of charcole in there,
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: and then it get real hot. You can't touch it
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: for two days. They got to leave it at the stadium.
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: So now here we go. A few hours later, she
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: take me and saying she was about to FaceTime me again,
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: but she told me to put my phone on mute.
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: See you know why because see you handle her reaction
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: the first time too wrong. He was tickled at her
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: being messy, and she messy, and she jealous. She jealous
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: of your happiness. So now here she goes. I got
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: the call, and I watched my phone, and she showed
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: me three women that I had never seen before, drinking
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: and having a great time in our RV. She showed
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: you three women that had never been in RV. She
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: ain't show you none of the other men that could
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: have been in that tulce. Then my friend paying over
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: to my husband and he had a tiny red headed
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: woman sitting on his leg. It was so loud. I
- 1:06:48Speaker 6: couldn't hear what they were saying. My friend said she
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: met the woman. She advised me to talk to my
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: husband for jumping to any conclusion. My only response was
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: that I was gonna burn that whole RV. Wait a minute,
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: so now you paying over a little tiny red head shitting'
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: on his lap. That's not his fault.
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: That's just funny to me.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Sorry, they had the.
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: RV open, tiny redhead, little white lady came in and
- 1:07:20Speaker 6: just sitting up that and other RV four ain't nowhere
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: for her to sit whatever. She just set out on
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: big dude's lap because he's big strong you know.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: Now they talking, but you can't hear what they said.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: And the reason she put it on mute because they
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: were so loud. You can't what they said. Because they
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: wasn't talking about nothing. I couldn't share you if they
- 1:07:46Speaker 6: was just partying. It got a little bit out of hand.
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: She advised me to talk to my husband before jumping
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: to any conclusion. She wants you to jump to a
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: conclusion and talking about talk to your husband. Why would
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: you invite something like that in a person's marriage with
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: your low down stink behind.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: But the woman my own eyes.
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: So that was nothing my husband can say to make
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: me believe he is not a cheating Why is he cheating?
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: How is he cheated? The cheating that's right because she
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: it's inappropriate. It doesn't look good, but that ain't cheat
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: at all. You know what cheating is, and you're trying
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: to make more out.
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: Of it than it is.
- 1:08:38Speaker 6: He's accused my friends of starting this mess. He's absolutely correct,
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: But I never told him who told me?
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: He knows her?
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: Because ain't nobody else in that would have did it?
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: Who else would have called you? Ain't nobody got your number?
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: But your mess friend who I must inform you is
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: not your friend. She ain't never been your friend. He's
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: jealous of your life, she's jealous of what you got.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: She don't want you to have nothing because she ain't
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: got nothing. He claims he's not dumb enough to have
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: this woman in our R and B in front of
- 1:09:10Speaker 6: our friends if he was trying to have sex with him. Bam,
- 1:09:13Speaker 6: Ditto who do that. It was dumb what he did,
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: but he ain't trying to have sex with the chick
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: and he was not in the trailer. You does he
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: think I'm done now? But your girlfriend know it? Should?
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: I believe this is innocent fun, that's all.

- 1:13:56Speaker 9: Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: This is from Selena in Gulfport.
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: Selena writes, I went to the Chris Brown concert in
- 1:14:07Speaker 9: DC with my sister, and my husband tried to sabotage
- 1:14:10Speaker 9: my trip by acting like he had COVID. I told
- 1:14:14Speaker 9: him that a coronavirus is like having a cold, and
- 1:14:16Speaker 9: he'd be all right, and I went on my trip.
- 1:14:19Speaker 9: My husband still has a nasty attitude and only talks
- 1:14:22Speaker 9: to me when it's absolutely necessary.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Why is he acting like a man child?
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: We have?
- 1:14:28Speaker 9: Why is he acting like a man child?
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: I mean why? Because he didn't want you to go
- 1:14:32Speaker 6: see Chris Brown. He wanted you to place him first.
- 1:14:35Speaker 7: Mm.
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: That's all it is, all it is. And went to
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: see Chris. Yeah, and he ain't have COVID, So what else.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: You don't care.
- 1:14:49Speaker 6: I don't.
- 1:14:52Speaker 9: Sounds like it. Yeah, all right, we do have time
- 1:14:57Speaker 9: for another one. This is from Gentry and fort Worth.
- 1:15:01Speaker 9: Gentry says, I'm in love with a woman with a
- 1:15:03Speaker 9: bad attitude. According to my friends, I was having drinks
- 1:15:07Speaker 9: with the fellas and one of them said that my
- 1:15:09Speaker 9: wife is rude to their wives and she tries to
- 1:15:12Speaker 9: put them down. I fell out with my guys over this,
- 1:15:15Speaker 9: knowing deep down that they're partially right.
- 1:15:18Speaker 6: I am torn.
- 1:15:18Speaker 9: Between my girl and the fellas I grew up with.
- 1:15:22Speaker 9: And should I talk to my wife about her attitude
- 1:15:24Speaker 9: or allow her to be her authentic self?
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: Well, sometimes your authentic self requires some revising.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Yeah, hindments, Yes, yes.
- 1:15:38Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: If your authentic self is you mean and nasty, you
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: ought to try to be nice. Yeah, yeah, you know
- 1:15:48Speaker 6: nothing to be kind. Yeah, so I'd go ahead and
- 1:15:51Speaker 6: tell her the deal. My partners and now said you're
- 1:15:55Speaker 6: pretty rude to their wives and not defending you. I'm
- 1:15:57Speaker 6: through with them, but baby, in all honesty, I'm not
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: gonna go against you in front of them. But they
- 1:16:02Speaker 6: have a valid point. You can be sharp and rude
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: with people.
- 1:16:06Speaker 9: Oh I know, I felt that one too. Okay, finish
- 1:16:12Speaker 9: your thoughts, sir.
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: I'm done shock.
- 1:16:20Speaker 9: You know it sounded like you said something else, that's all.
- 1:16:23Speaker 6: Yeah, but I said you can be a bit right.
- 1:16:26Speaker 6: We get sharp and rude at times, and I think
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: you should maybe make an adjustments for we don't have
- 1:16:32Speaker 6: no friends.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: Yeah, what if she gets mad at him for saying
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: that to her?
- 1:16:36Speaker 6: She will and thus proving my point.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Yes, she is going to if he says it like that.
- 1:16:43Speaker 9: Yes, yeah, she could be nice. She could be nice, though,
- 1:16:48Speaker 9: she could. Yeah, yeah, it's no harm.
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: Be nice?
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: Have you ever?
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: How do you know?
- 1:16:57Speaker 6: Because she over forty.
- 1:17:00Speaker 17: And she ain't changing, that's not that's her final form,
- 1:17:05Speaker 17: she's that's it.
- 1:17:06Speaker 9: Oh, id, she's setting her ways yourself.
- 1:17:12Speaker 6: I have a real recommendation that I did myself, but
- 1:17:15Speaker 6: I don't know if he'll want to do that. What
- 1:17:17Speaker 6: what did you do? I get a divorced?
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: You know what?
- 1:17:21Speaker 13: Why is that your go through?
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: And he's only quick with it every time? Somebody right here?
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: That's it.
- 1:17:32Speaker 6: It ain't gonna work. This ain't gonna work.
- 1:17:36Speaker 9: Get you some papers though, I mean, but no one
- 1:17:43Speaker 9: wants to be with anybody.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: That's mean.
- 1:17:47Speaker 16: She didn't make an adjustment. If she wants to like Junior.
- 1:17:50Speaker 16: You're saying she's over forty, but I was setting her ways.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: She's wrong, But it's not about you.
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: See Harvey, did you just said over forty and that's what.
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: It was.
- 1:18:09Speaker 9: Junia with me and wife.
- 1:18:12Speaker 6: You know that if you mean and over forty, you
- 1:18:15Speaker 6: pretty much you locked in forty years of that. You
- 1:18:20Speaker 6: was a mean baby.
- 1:18:23Speaker 9: What did the baby say to his parents?

- 1:25:11Speaker 9: last break of the day.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: Of the week.
- 1:25:13Speaker 9: It's been a great week. It's been fun. We've had
- 1:25:16Speaker 9: fun today.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: Yes, great day today. Yeah, always fun on Friday.
- 1:25:23Speaker 6: Yep.
- 1:25:24Speaker 9: Thank you to our audience as usual. And Steve, I
- 1:25:27Speaker 9: know you have some words of wisdom for us.
- 1:25:28Speaker 6: What you got Yeah, you know. Earlier today, Junior asked
- 1:25:32Speaker 6: me about association with different types of people, and I
- 1:25:38Speaker 6: was reminded of an exercise a guy had done one
- 1:25:43Speaker 6: time where he asked everybody to write on a piece
- 1:25:46Speaker 6: of paper the names of your five closest associates and
- 1:25:49Speaker 6: friends and then describe them positive and negative, you know, smart, loving, caring, lazy,
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: whatever the character this is. And he said, when you
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: get through describing those five friends, you've just described yourself.
- 1:26:12Speaker 6: Because your friends, you get to pick the people you
- 1:26:14Speaker 6: call friends, and you normally pick friends because you all
- 1:26:18Speaker 6: have things in common. So when you describe your five
- 1:26:22Speaker 6: closest associates, you've described yourself. And I found that to
- 1:26:27Speaker 6: be true back then, and so I went wow. I
- 1:26:32Speaker 6: was listening to my buddy John Hope Bryant on a
- 1:26:36Speaker 6: podcast and he made the statement he said, if you
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: hang around nine broke people, you will become number ten.
- 1:26:46Speaker 6: And you know what, man, that makes so much sense.
- 1:26:49Speaker 6: Association brings on participation, and as you select your friends,
- 1:26:54Speaker 6: you get to pick. Now, stop that old, that old
- 1:26:58Speaker 6: ignorant mess. You got to keep it real. Remember where
- 1:27:02Speaker 6: you come from. Yeah, it's cool to remember where you
- 1:27:06Speaker 6: come from, but you ain't got to stay where you're from.
- 1:27:10Speaker 6: You can keep parts of where you're from, but you
- 1:27:13Speaker 6: got to move on. In order to grow, you are
- 1:27:18Speaker 6: going to have to go. I don't know anybody who
- 1:27:22Speaker 6: has grown but has stayed the same. It can't happen.
- 1:27:28Speaker 6: In order to grow, you have to go. I know
- 1:27:33Speaker 6: very few people who reach complete fame in their hometown.
- 1:27:40Speaker 6: I very rarely hear this because somehow you got to
- 1:27:44Speaker 6: go where people see you differently. So what I'm saying
- 1:27:50Speaker 6: to you is this, If association brings on participation, pay
- 1:27:55Speaker 6: very close attention to who you associate with. Start picking
- 1:28:00Speaker 6: better friends, start picking better people to hang out with.
- 1:28:06Speaker 6: And you know what, don't just have people to hang
- 1:28:08Speaker 6: out with just to have somebody to hang out with.
- 1:28:11Speaker 6: That's a dangerous play. Do you know that it's okay
- 1:28:16Speaker 6: to go somewhere and sit down and be by yourself.
- 1:28:20Speaker 6: At least you get to have your own thoughts, You
- 1:28:23Speaker 6: get to be in your own mood.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: What I have learned to do is.
- 1:28:28Speaker 6: I've disassociated myself with people that bring me no that
- 1:28:33Speaker 6: come into my life to destroy my peace. If you
- 1:28:36Speaker 6: are in my life to mess with my peace, you
- 1:28:38Speaker 6: out out and I don't have to entertain you at all.
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: By no, man, I don't have no plan. I had
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: a kid that, no matter what I did for him,
- 1:28:49Speaker 6: he didn't listen to me. And I was mentoring him,
- 1:28:53Speaker 6: and every time he came around, I was trying to
- 1:28:55Speaker 6: minuture this kid and he always had some pushback, but
- 1:28:58Speaker 6: no matter what I say. And so one day I
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: was living in Chicago and he gave me a call
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: late at night, and he was one of the kids
- 1:29:08Speaker 6: that had come to my camp, and I could tell
- 1:29:10Speaker 6: he was in a club somewhere. And he gave me
- 1:29:13Speaker 6: a call one night and he had somebody around him
- 1:29:19Speaker 6: because he said, I heard the guy say, man, you
- 1:29:22Speaker 6: got Steve Harvey's number. This is a young kid I
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: was mentoring, and so I was talking to him and
- 1:29:29Speaker 6: then he said, well, I don't agree with that Steve.
- 1:29:33Speaker 6: And it's the first time he had ever called me Steve.
- 1:29:36Speaker 6: He had always been calling mister Harvey the whole time,
- 1:29:39Speaker 6: so I knew he was around somebody flexing. So I
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: don't agree with that, Steve. I said, Oh, okay, that's different.
- 1:29:47Speaker 6: I said, well, what is it you don't agree with?
- 1:29:49Speaker 6: You don't tell me what to do like that? And
- 1:29:53Speaker 6: I went wow, cause it was he just all of
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: a sudden he became antagonistic and all of a sudden, man,
