- 0:01Speaker 1: Media going crazy because they're actually having to cover a
- 0:06Speaker 1: brilliant idea from the Trump administration, the ideas to save
- 0:11Speaker 1: American taxpayer's money while also getting deportations underway in a
- 0:16Speaker 1: very serious way. With a large number of people self deporting.
- 0:21Speaker 1: How does it work? We're going to pay them to
- 0:23Speaker 1: do it. The Trump administration has now come out saying
- 0:27Speaker 1: they are willing to pay one thousand dollars to an
- 0:30Speaker 1: undocumented immigrant who self deports. The Department of Homeland Security
- 0:34Speaker 1: announce it will provide travel assistance and a thousand dollars
- 0:39Speaker 1: stipend to those who use the CBP home app to
- 0:43Speaker 1: actually leave the United States of America. The Department of
- 0:47Speaker 1: Home in Security says, we are intensifying our efforts to
- 0:51Speaker 1: persuade unauthorized immigrants to self deport by offering them the
- 0:56Speaker 1: thousand dollars stipend and the travel assistance.
- 0:59Speaker 2: This was save Americans money. Now.
- 1:01Speaker 1: The best part about this story is the fact that
- 1:04Speaker 1: the media is actually having to cover it and they
- 1:07Speaker 1: don't know how to criticize it.
- 1:09Speaker 2: But they don't like it.
- 1:11Speaker 1: CBS News putting a big story out there, and here's
- 1:15Speaker 1: how they explained it to their audience.
- 1:18Speaker 3: So Willie, how would this actually work?
- 1:20Speaker 4: And it is Julie, good to be with you on this
- 1:22Speaker 4: Monday afternoon. Well, the Trump administration is looking to deport
- 1:26Speaker 4: migrants this way in large part because it would save
- 1:29Speaker 4: the government money. That's part of the thinking here. A
- 1:32Speaker 4: Department of Homeland Security official explain that it costs about
- 1:36Speaker 4: seventeen thousand dollars to find and apprehend in a migrant
- 1:40Speaker 4: who is undocumented here in the United States and deport them,
- 1:43Speaker 4: so this could potentially save the government one thousands of
- 1:47Speaker 4: dollars per person, and the President spoke about this earlier today.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Listen, but what we thought we'd do is a self
- 1:53Speaker 5: deport where we're going to pay each one a certain
- 1:56Speaker 5: amount of money and we're going to get them a
- 1:59Speaker 5: beautiful flight back to where they came from, and they
- 2:02Speaker 5: have a period of time, and if they make it,
- 2:05Speaker 5: we're going to work with them so that maybe someday,
- 2:08Speaker 5: with a little.
- 2:08Speaker 6: Work, they can come back in. If they're good.
- 2:10Speaker 5: People, if they're the kind of people that we want
- 2:12Speaker 5: in our company, industrious people that could love our country,
- 2:17Speaker 5: and if they're not, they won't.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Now, the way that migrants can sign up for this
- 2:21Speaker 4: program is by using the CBP home app, that is
- 2:25Speaker 4: the app that was used under the Biden administration for
- 2:28Speaker 4: migrants to register themselves here so they could be the
- 2:33Speaker 4: government could have information about them and their status here
- 2:36Speaker 4: in the United States. But the Trump administration is using
- 2:39Speaker 4: this as a way for migrants to not only register themselves,
- 2:43Speaker 4: but to self deport as well. So the government looking
- 2:47Speaker 4: to save some money here, you're looking to collect some
- 2:49Speaker 4: information from those undocumented migrants. And I'll add that the
- 2:55Speaker 4: effort to deport migrants has really been slowed by the courts.
- 2:58Speaker 4: We've seen the Trump administration try to deport migrants in
- 3:00Speaker 4: different ways, using the Alien Enemies Act, for instance, but
- 3:04Speaker 4: this way in particular, quite a novel idea that the
- 3:08Speaker 4: Trump administration is using, but one that they believe could
- 3:11Speaker 4: save the government thousands of dollars per individual.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Julia, by the way, not thousands, tens of thousands of
- 3:18Speaker 1: dollars per immigrant illegal. Let's just call them what it
- 3:22Speaker 1: is legal. I also thought it was interesting there. You
- 3:25Speaker 1: may have heard the word from CBS News of them
- 3:29Speaker 1: actually saying this is quote a novel idea.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Now the left is just losing their mind.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Pro immigration advocates are slamming the Department of Home and Security,
- 3:40Speaker 1: the Trump administration offering this money, they are denouncing it,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and they're quote urging illegal migrants to reject President Donald
- 3:48Speaker 1: Trump's offer of one thousand dollars in the free airline
- 3:50Speaker 1: ticket to leave the country.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Quote.
- 3:53Speaker 1: This opinion might be worse for people who take advantage
- 3:56Speaker 1: of it, claimed Aaron Reshelan, a pro immigrant advocate for
- 4:01Speaker 1: the Immigration Council Advocacy group.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Quote.
- 4:04Speaker 1: For people illegal immigrants in immigration court, it would likely
- 4:07Speaker 1: mean a deportation order. For others not detained for deportation,
- 4:12Speaker 1: it would abandon clear options for staying. So they're saying
- 4:17Speaker 1: dig in, don't take de bait, don't leave America. Steven
- 4:22Speaker 1: Miller putting out a tweet putting it this way, The
- 4:24Speaker 1: savings are as much as one million per illegal alien family,
- 4:29Speaker 1: given the long term costs of free welfare and public support.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And that is exactly why the Trump administration is now
- 4:37Speaker 1: saying we are willing to begin paying for the commercial
- 4:41Speaker 1: flights of illegal aliens who self deport from the US.
- 4:44Speaker 1: We will pay these aliens in additional thousand dollars once
- 4:48Speaker 1: they are confirmed have left the country. The Department of
- 4:50Speaker 1: Oland Security, telling Fox News it will save American taxpayers
- 4:55Speaker 1: seventy percent, as it currently costs DHS on average over
- 4:59Speaker 1: seventeen one thousand to arrest, detain, and to port someone
- 5:02Speaker 1: from the US while paying for self removal flights, and
- 5:06Speaker 1: the stipend has protected to cost just four thousand, five
- 5:09Speaker 1: hundred and also will be safer for ICE and preserve
- 5:13Speaker 1: their resources. Illegal aliens here's the rules must register on
- 5:18Speaker 1: the CBP home app and file their notice to leave
- 5:21Speaker 1: the US in order to receive the financial assistance, and
- 5:24Speaker 1: the stipend will only be paid once the alien is
- 5:27Speaker 1: confirmed to have left the United States. Now, the question
- 5:30Speaker 1: is is one thousand dollars enough to get somebody to
- 5:34Speaker 1: want to leave the US. Some would say maybe the
- 5:37Speaker 1: numbers too low. Well, let me explain the other part
- 5:40Speaker 1: of the incentive here. The Department of Homeland Security is
- 5:44Speaker 1: telling Fox News that any aliens who register to self
- 5:49Speaker 1: deport will be immediately deprioritized for ICE arrests, meaning you
- 5:55Speaker 1: don't have to keep looking over your shoulder and will
- 5:59Speaker 1: maintain the ability to return to the United States of
- 6:02Speaker 1: America illegally in the future. Department of Home in Security
- 6:07Speaker 1: says they have already successfully tested out the financial assistance,
- 6:11Speaker 1: recently paying for an illegal alien to fly back to
- 6:14Speaker 1: Honduras from Chicago with more tickets that have already been
- 6:18Speaker 1: booked for this week. Christy Nome saying this in a
- 6:23Speaker 1: statement quote, if you are here illegally, self deportation is
- 6:28Speaker 1: the best, safest and most cost effective way to leave
- 6:32Speaker 1: the United States to avoid arrest. The DHS is now
- 6:36Speaker 1: offering illegal aliens financial travel assistance in a stipend to
- 6:41Speaker 1: return to their home country through the CBP home app.
- 6:45Speaker 1: This is the safest option for our law enforcement for
- 6:48Speaker 1: aliens and is a seventy percent savings for US taxpayers.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Download the CBP home app today and self deport again.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Those are the word from Christy Nome. Now.
- 7:01Speaker 1: When this story broke, Fox News was the first to
- 7:05Speaker 1: tell all of the details, and here is more of
- 7:08Speaker 1: what they said.
- 7:09Speaker 6: Dana, good morning to you.
- 7:10Speaker 7: So Fox News can report exclusively that DHS will announce
- 7:14Speaker 7: today that they're going to start paying for the commercial
- 7:16Speaker 7: flights of illegal aliens who self deport from the US,
- 7:19Speaker 7: and on top of that, they're going to pay them
- 7:21Speaker 7: an additional one thousand dollars stipend once they're confirmed to
- 7:25Speaker 7: have left the country now. DHS says doing this is
- 7:28Speaker 7: going to be significantly cheaper for the American taxpayer. They
- 7:31Speaker 7: tell us that right now it costs on average, about
- 7:34Speaker 7: seventeen thousand dollars to arrest, detain, and deport someone. They say,
- 7:38Speaker 7: paying for self deportations and the stipend will only cost
- 7:42Speaker 7: about forty five hundred dollars per person. That's about seventy
- 7:45Speaker 7: percent cheaper. Aliens are going to have to register to
- 7:48Speaker 7: self deport on the new CBP home mapp to access
- 7:51Speaker 7: that DHS financial assistance, as well as announce their intent
- 7:55Speaker 7: to leave the country. DHS Secretary Christy Nome tells Fox
- 7:58Speaker 7: in part quote, if you are here illegally, self deportation
- 8:02Speaker 7: is the best, safest and most cost effective way to
- 8:05Speaker 7: leave the United States to avoid arrest. In the meantime,
- 8:08Speaker 7: here in the sanctuary city of Los Angeles, ICE confirms
- 8:11Speaker 7: the Fox News that three suspects arrested in connection with
- 8:14Speaker 7: the home invasion murder of a man in the Woodland
- 8:17Speaker 7: Hills neighborhood last Sunday are all in the US illegally.
- 8:21Speaker 7: ICE's acting director Todd Lyons tells Fox they are all
- 8:24Speaker 7: Georgia nationals. Two of whom were cotton released at the
- 8:27Speaker 7: border after crossing illegally, and the third, who overstayed a
- 8:30Speaker 7: tourist visa and listened to this, had two previous arrests
- 8:34Speaker 7: with ICE detainers on him ignored due to sanctuary policy.
- 8:38Speaker 8: They were still allowed to stay here in the US
- 8:40Speaker 8: and commit crimes. So you have three individuals from the
- 8:44Speaker 8: nation of Georgia who didn't know each other, who have
- 8:47Speaker 8: now met up in the sanctuary state of California in
- 8:50Speaker 8: Los Angeles and killed an innocent person. For these elected officials,
- 8:55Speaker 8: I say, shame on you and Dana.
- 8:56Speaker 7: Regarding DHS paying for those self deportation flights, they tell
- 9:00Speaker 7: us they've already tested this out successfully. They say they
- 9:03Speaker 7: paid recently for an illegal alien to fly from Chicago
- 9:06Speaker 7: back to Honduras. They tell us that any aliens who
- 9:09Speaker 7: sign up and register to self deport will be immediately
- 9:12Speaker 7: deprioritized as a target for ICE arrest. They say thousands
- 9:16Speaker 7: have self deported already. They anticipate that number is going
- 9:19Speaker 7: to shoot up significantly after today's announcement.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Yeah, seems like a const effective way to help handle
- 9:24Speaker 5: it as well.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Bill, You listens reporting from at Fox and Bill Mallusian,
- 9:29Speaker 1: who does an unbelievable job. By the way, when it
- 9:31Speaker 1: comes to stuff and you listen to what he said there,
- 9:34Speaker 1: This is a novel idea that is not crazy, that
- 9:38Speaker 1: saves us a lot of money, puts fewer people's lives
- 9:41Speaker 1: at risk when you're going after these legal immigrants, and
- 9:44Speaker 1: allows for people to have a chance to even come
- 9:46Speaker 1: back into the United States of America. This is a
- 9:49Speaker 1: win all the way around for everyone involved. And yet
- 9:54Speaker 1: the media is like, we don't know what to do
- 9:56Speaker 1: with it, Like we're trying to figure out a way
- 9:58Speaker 1: to criticize it. What do we say, how do we
- 10:00Speaker 1: undermine this, how do we attack it? How do we
- 10:03Speaker 1: get people to be angry about it? I go back
- 10:06Speaker 1: to the basics here. This is why I voted for
- 10:08Speaker 1: Donald Trump, because he was going to think outside the
- 10:11Speaker 1: box and when certain things weren't working, he was going
- 10:13Speaker 1: to try something else. And this is another way to
- 10:16Speaker 1: get rid of so many illegal immigrants in this country.
- 10:20Speaker 1: It was a very interesting interview that President Donald Trump
- 10:23Speaker 1: did with Meet the Press. You probably didn't watch it,
- 10:26Speaker 1: as many didn't, and if you missed it, there was
- 10:30Speaker 1: some parts in there that I do want to play
- 10:32Speaker 1: for you. Now, I thought about kind of cutting this
- 10:34Speaker 1: up a little bit, and then I decided to know,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I want you to feel the flow of the interview
- 10:40Speaker 1: because NBC News comes out of the gate with like
- 10:42Speaker 1: kind of like an easy, kind question, and then the
- 10:45Speaker 1: demeanor starts to change. And I do think that's part
- 10:48Speaker 1: of the importance of this interview. Now, it was a
- 10:51Speaker 1: solid hour, and I'm going to give you some of
- 10:53Speaker 1: the longer highlights, including the very beginning where NBC News
- 10:57Speaker 1: Christian Walker sat down with the President about his quote
- 10:59Speaker 1: first hundred days in office, and here is how she
- 11:02Speaker 1: introduced him and her first question.
- 11:05Speaker 3: President Trump, welcome back to meet the press.
- 11:07Speaker 6: Thank you very much.
- 11:08Speaker 9: Thank you so much for being here to mark your
- 11:11Speaker 9: first one hundred days in office. It has been an
- 11:14Speaker 9: incredibly busy one hundred days. You've signed more than one
- 11:17Speaker 9: hundred and forty executive orders. You've been focused on the border,
- 11:21Speaker 9: of the economy, foreign policy.
- 11:24Speaker 3: What is your biggest goal in the next one hundred days.
- 11:27Speaker 5: Well, I think we're going to see a lot of results.
- 11:29Speaker 5: We've already seen them on the border. We have the
- 11:31Speaker 5: best vord in the history of our country. It was
- 11:34Speaker 5: ninety nine point nine ninety nine, and nobody ever thought
- 11:38Speaker 5: that was possible. In fact, Biden, if you remember, said
- 11:40Speaker 5: he has to get legislation, and I said, no, you
- 11:43Speaker 5: just need a new president. And I guess I was right.
- 11:45Speaker 5: We have the best border we've ever had, We're doing
- 11:48Speaker 5: great on illegal immigration. We are being hit hard by
- 11:53Speaker 5: judges that I think they're trying to take away the
- 11:56Speaker 5: power of the presidency. I was elected in a massive
- 11:59Speaker 5: landslod and a big vote. We won the swing states,
- 12:03Speaker 5: we won the popular vote, we won the district votes
- 12:06Speaker 5: by tremendous numbers. We want everything, and one of the reasons,
- 12:10Speaker 5: one of the primary reasons I was elected, was to
- 12:13Speaker 5: get people out of our country that were allowed. We
- 12:16Speaker 5: have prisoners, we have murderers, we have terrorists.
- 12:19Speaker 6: In our country.
- 12:20Speaker 5: We have people from mental institutions that are seriously insane.
- 12:24Speaker 5: They all came in through Biden's open border policy, and
- 12:27Speaker 5: I was elected to get them out and to seal
- 12:30Speaker 5: the border, but to get them out.
- 12:32Speaker 6: And we'll have judges. They're activist judges.
- 12:34Speaker 5: They're saying, well, you know, you don't have the right
- 12:36Speaker 5: to take out murderers and people that you don't even
- 12:40Speaker 5: want to talk about. These are really some really bad
- 12:44Speaker 5: criminal people, and they're here illegally. So you know, they
- 12:47Speaker 5: talk about your next question will be due process. But
- 12:50Speaker 5: they talk about due process, but do you get due
- 12:52Speaker 5: process when you're here illegally.
- 12:55Speaker 9: We're going to talk about all of that. We are
- 12:57Speaker 9: going to talk about deportation. But I want to start
- 12:59Speaker 9: on this economy, sir, which obviously the biggest issue for voters.
- 13:04Speaker 9: We got new numbers today, better than expected, job numbers,
- 13:08Speaker 9: much better. At the same time, the economy shrank in
- 13:11Speaker 9: the first quarter. You've been arguing all week that this
- 13:14Speaker 9: is President Biden's economy. Is this now your economy?
- 13:18Speaker 7: Sir?
- 13:18Speaker 5: Well, I think certain aspects of it are Costs are
- 13:22Speaker 5: I was able to get down the costs, but even that,
- 13:24Speaker 5: it takes a while to get them down, but we
- 13:26Speaker 5: got them down good. We lost five to six billion
- 13:31Speaker 5: dollars a day with Biden, five to six billion, and
- 13:35Speaker 5: I've got that down to a great number right now
- 13:38Speaker 5: in a record time. You know, we're talking about one
- 13:40Speaker 5: hundred days, but just think of what that is. Five
- 13:43Speaker 5: billion dollars a day. We're losing on trade, and we
- 13:47Speaker 5: were very tough with China.
- 13:49Speaker 6: As you know.
- 13:49Speaker 5: We've put one hundred and forty five percent tariff on.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Nobody's ever heard of such a thing. And we've essentially
- 13:55Speaker 5: cut off trade relationships by putting that much of a
- 13:59Speaker 5: tariff on. And that's okay. We've gone cold turkey. That
- 14:02Speaker 5: means that we're not losing you know, we lost a
- 14:05Speaker 5: trillion dollars to China, a trillion dollars. That means we're
- 14:09Speaker 5: not losing a trillion dollars when we go cold Turkey
- 14:12Speaker 5: because we're not doing business with them right now and
- 14:15Speaker 5: they want to make a deal. They want to make
- 14:16Speaker 5: a deal very badly. We'll see how that all turns out,
- 14:19Speaker 5: but it's got to be a fair deal.
- 14:20Speaker 6: But think of it.
- 14:21Speaker 5: We're losing a trillion dollars and that was a big
- 14:24Speaker 5: part of the five million dollars a day.
- 14:27Speaker 9: And I want to talk about China, but just staying
- 14:29Speaker 9: on this idea of the economy. On the eve of
- 14:32Speaker 9: your inauguration, the stock market spiked. You called it the
- 14:37Speaker 9: Trump effect.
- 14:39Speaker 5: Are you spike because I was elected president? Well, spike
- 14:42Speaker 5: because of anybody else. It's spike because they see what
- 14:45Speaker 5: I'm going to do. They know what I'm going to
- 14:47Speaker 5: do with the tariffs and everything else, and I think
- 14:50Speaker 5: it's actually working out better than we anticipated. Do you
- 14:53Speaker 5: see oil prices? Did you see gasoline is now below
- 14:56Speaker 5: in many cases, in many states below two dollars.
- 14:59Speaker 6: A gallon one ninety eight, ninety nine, one ninety seven.
- 15:03Speaker 9: Well, my question, sir, is when the stock market spiked,
- 15:06Speaker 9: you said this is the Trump effect. When the numbers
- 15:09Speaker 9: weren't so good earlier this week, you said it's the
- 15:11Speaker 9: Biden effect. Are you only taking ownership of the good
- 15:15Speaker 9: numbers and not the bad number?
- 15:16Speaker 5: I think he did a lot of very bad things,
- 15:18Speaker 5: and despite some of the bad things, were overcoming them.
- 15:22Speaker 5: But he was bad on the border. He was bad
- 15:23Speaker 5: on the economy. We had the worst inflation in the
- 15:26Speaker 5: history of our country. Look, Biden gave us the worst
- 15:29Speaker 5: inflation in the history of our country. People didn't matter
- 15:33Speaker 5: what they made because they were losing their shirt. Because
- 15:36Speaker 5: of course, now take a look at what happened. Oil
- 15:39Speaker 5: is down, gasoline is down, groceries are down.
- 15:42Speaker 6: Eggs.
- 15:43Speaker 5: You were the one that asked me. You asked me
- 15:45Speaker 5: about eggs. It was the first week I didn't even
- 15:47Speaker 5: know anything about. What were you talking about? Egg prices
- 15:51Speaker 5: were so high you couldn't buy eggs. They didn't have
- 15:53Speaker 5: any eggs, and they said, Easter is going to be
- 15:55Speaker 5: a disaster. Well, we had easter at the White House
- 15:58Speaker 5: and we had thousands of and they were down eighty
- 16:01Speaker 5: seven percent.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of that, of course, spike was because
- 16:05Speaker 3: of bird flu. But when does it become the Trump
- 16:07Speaker 3: al Why do you say that?
- 16:08Speaker 6: Well, tell me when did we had the same bird
- 16:10Speaker 6: flu as he?
- 16:11Speaker 3: When does it become the Trump economy?
- 16:15Speaker 5: It partially is right now, And I really mean this.
- 16:18Speaker 5: I think the good parts of the Trump economy and
- 16:20Speaker 5: the bad parts of the Biden economy because he's done.
- 16:23Speaker 6: A terrible job.
- 16:24Speaker 5: He did a terrible job and everything from his auto pen,
- 16:27Speaker 5: which I'm sure he knew nothing about some of the
- 16:29Speaker 5: things he was supposedly signing, to immigration. You look at
- 16:34Speaker 5: what happened with immigration, how bad it was.
- 16:36Speaker 6: Think of it.
- 16:37Speaker 5: We have murderers, eleven eight hundred and eighty eight murderers,
- 16:41Speaker 5: many of them murdered more than one person. Think of that,
- 16:44Speaker 5: and they're in our country. Now, We've gotten a lot
- 16:46Speaker 5: of them out and we know who many of them are, and.
- 16:50Speaker 6: We're on the hunt.
- 16:52Speaker 5: But why would anybody do that? Why would anybody who
- 16:55Speaker 5: could do such a thing. Would it allow hundreds of
- 16:59Speaker 5: thousands and even millions of people into our country or
- 17:02Speaker 5: criminals and murderers at the highest level.
- 17:06Speaker 9: But sir, you acknowledged when you announced your tariffs, for example,
- 17:10Speaker 9: the stock market dropped, it's been volatile, it has since
- 17:13Speaker 9: gone up. Do you take responsibility that, yeah? Do you
- 17:17Speaker 9: take responsibility?
- 17:19Speaker 6: Ultimately?
- 17:19Speaker 5: I take responsibility for everything. But I've only just been
- 17:22Speaker 5: here for a little more than three months. But the
- 17:26Speaker 5: stock market, look at what's happened in the last short
- 17:29Speaker 5: period of time. It didn't have nine or ten days
- 17:31Speaker 5: in a row or eleven days where it's gone up.
- 17:34Speaker 5: And the tariffs have just started kicking in, and we're
- 17:40Speaker 5: doing really well psychologically. I mean, the fake news was
- 17:44Speaker 5: giving me such press on the tariffs.
- 17:47Speaker 6: The tariffs are going to make us rich. We're going
- 17:49Speaker 6: to be a very rich country.
- 17:50Speaker 3: So let's talk about the tariffs. And I want to
- 17:52Speaker 3: ask you about something you said this week got a
- 17:54Speaker 3: lot of attention. You were at your cabinet meeting.
- 17:57Speaker 9: You said, quote and quote what you said, maybe the
- 18:00Speaker 9: children will have two dollars instead of thirty dollars, and
- 18:02Speaker 9: maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks
- 18:05Speaker 9: more than they would normally. Are you saying that your
- 18:08Speaker 9: tariffs will cause some prices to go up.
- 18:11Speaker 5: No, I think the tariffs is going to be great
- 18:13Speaker 5: for us because it's going to make us rich.
- 18:14Speaker 9: But you said some dolls are going to cost more.
- 18:16Speaker 9: Isn't that an acknowledgement that some prices.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Will go up.
- 18:19Speaker 5: I don't think a beautiful baby girl needs it's eleven
- 18:23Speaker 5: years old, needs to have thirty dollars. I think they
- 18:27Speaker 5: can have three dollars or four dollars. Because what we
- 18:30Speaker 5: were doing with China was just unbelievable. We had a
- 18:33Speaker 5: trade deficit of hundreds of billions of dollars with China.
- 18:37Speaker 9: When you say they could have three dollars instead of
- 18:40Speaker 9: thirty dollars, are you saying Americans could see empty store shelves.
- 18:44Speaker 5: No, No, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying they
- 18:47Speaker 5: don't need to have thirty dollars. They can have three.
- 18:49Speaker 5: They don't need to have two hundred and fifty pencils,
- 18:51Speaker 5: they can have five.
- 18:53Speaker 3: But you're basically saying there could be some supply.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Sure, because of the waste money trade deficit with China
- 19:01Speaker 5: for things we don't need for junk that we don't need.
- 19:04Speaker 1: And obviously that's exactly what I told you a moment ago.
- 19:08Speaker 1: You can see how the immediately the interview just started
- 19:12Speaker 1: to change right into the we hate Donald Trump, Orange
- 19:15Speaker 1: Man bad.
- 19:16Speaker 2: You're the problem. It's not anybody else.
- 19:19Speaker 1: It's not the media, it's not Biden, it's not the
- 19:21Speaker 1: liberals that destroyed this country.
- 19:23Speaker 2: No, you're the bad guy. And Kristen Welker goes all in.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I got to say in the interview, and you can
- 19:29Speaker 1: hear how quickly the media again not only the coming
- 19:32Speaker 1: after Trump, but they're also putting words in his mouth,
- 19:35Speaker 1: lying about what he's saying. When he said that a
- 19:39Speaker 1: little girl doesn't need thirty dollars maybe three or four, Like,
- 19:42Speaker 1: we don't need the trade deficit we have, We don't
- 19:44Speaker 1: need this idea that we're addicted to all this cheap
- 19:46Speaker 1: stuff and they get to take advantage of us, and
- 19:49Speaker 1: the point he was making. They're like, well, are you
- 19:50Speaker 1: saying we're going to run shortages? Like that's not what
- 19:52Speaker 1: I said at all. Do you need thirty pencils or five?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Right?
- 19:56Speaker 1: He was talking about changing the mentality of the way
- 19:59Speaker 1: we trade with China, and they're like, oh, so massive
- 20:03Speaker 1: shortges are coming. That's not what I said at all.
- 20:06Speaker 1: They're constantly trying to put words of his mouth and long,
- 20:09Speaker 1: keep listening as the next question comes. And this is
- 20:12Speaker 1: where the contingent comes from from NBC.
- 20:14Speaker 3: This is already going up on some popular strollers.
- 20:19Speaker 5: This is such a dishonest interview. Already, prices are down
- 20:23Speaker 5: on groceries. Prices are down for oil, prices are down
- 20:26Speaker 5: for oil.
- 20:27Speaker 6: Energy.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Prices are down at tremendous numbers for gasoline. And let
- 20:33Speaker 5: me tell you when you have the big thing.
- 20:36Speaker 6: What he did.
- 20:36Speaker 5: He spent like a stupid person, which he was, but
- 20:40Speaker 5: he spent like a very stupid person. And that was
- 20:42Speaker 5: bad for inflation. But what really killed us with inflation
- 20:45Speaker 5: was the price of energy. It went up to three
- 20:48Speaker 5: dollars and ninety even four dollars and in California five
- 20:50Speaker 5: and six dollars. Right, okay, I have it down to
- 20:53Speaker 5: a dollar ninety eight in many states right now. When
- 20:57Speaker 5: you go that much lower on energy, which is ahead
- 21:01Speaker 5: of my prediction because I really thought I could get
- 21:04Speaker 5: it down into the two fifties. We have it down
- 21:07Speaker 5: at a dollar ninety eight in numerous places. But when
- 21:11Speaker 5: you say courts are going up, even mortgage rates are
- 21:14Speaker 5: going down.
- 21:15Speaker 9: Well, let me give you some examples. These are I mean,
- 21:18Speaker 9: these are actual examples. They're going So you're saying the
- 21:21Speaker 9: prices that are going down, some prices are going up. Tires, strollers,
- 21:26Speaker 9: some clothing in the wake of your territory.
- 21:29Speaker 5: That's peanuts compared to energy. Energy is sixty percent of
- 21:34Speaker 5: the cost sir.
- 21:34Speaker 9: You campaign on a promise to bring prices down on day, Well.
- 21:39Speaker 5: I don't know when you say strollers are going up?
- 21:42Speaker 5: What kind of a thing I'm saying that gasoline is
- 21:44Speaker 5: going down. Gasoline is thousands of times more important than
- 21:48Speaker 5: as a strollers somebody, What do you.
- 21:50Speaker 9: Say to Americans who say they voted for you because
- 21:52Speaker 9: they want and they need relief right now, and.
- 21:55Speaker 3: They're getting it right now. What about those.
- 21:58Speaker 6: Even mortgage rates different items. Mortgage rates are going down
- 22:01Speaker 6: despite the fact that we have a stubborn fed But.
- 22:03Speaker 3: You said dolls, even dolls could cost a couple bucks more.
- 22:06Speaker 5: Maybe they might, But you don't need to have us.
- 22:09Speaker 5: I said, thirty five dollars. You can have two, three,
- 22:11Speaker 5: four and save a lot of money. We don't need
- 22:14Speaker 5: to feed the beast.
- 22:16Speaker 3: I guess you're talking about this transition cost. How long
- 22:19Speaker 3: should people expect that transition to last?
- 22:22Speaker 5: Mister President, I can't tell you that. I can tell
- 22:24Speaker 5: you that we're making a lot of money. We're doing
- 22:27Speaker 5: great again. We're losing more than five billion dollars a day.
- 22:34Speaker 5: Five billion dollars a day. You don't talk about that,
- 22:37Speaker 5: and right now we're going to be at a point
- 22:39Speaker 5: very soon where we're making money every day.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Look how soon.
- 22:44Speaker 5: We were losing hundreds of billions of dollars with China.
- 22:49Speaker 5: Now we're essentially not doing business with China. Therefore we're
- 22:53Speaker 5: saving hundreds of billions of dollars. Very simple.
- 22:56Speaker 9: You take me to my next question, which is about China.
- 22:59Speaker 9: They've been making a number of public statements.
- 23:02Speaker 5: There is positive statements the last twenty four hours.
- 23:05Speaker 9: Well, and most recently they said before talks could happen,
- 23:09Speaker 9: the US would need to remove unilateral tariffs. Would you
- 23:13Speaker 9: consider dropping the tariffs to get China to the negotiating team.
- 23:16Speaker 5: No, First of all, you're giving me a statement that
- 23:20Speaker 5: was said a week ago.
- 23:21Speaker 6: You're not giving the statement that was said today.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I have may second Chinese Commerce ministry.
- 23:26Speaker 6: Do you know what they said today the US wants.
- 23:28Speaker 9: To negotiate, it should show sincerity by preparing to take
- 23:31Speaker 9: actions and correcting its mistakes and canceling the unilateral tariffs
- 23:35Speaker 9: they made.
- 23:36Speaker 6: First of all, they made numerous statements.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Yes, they've made people speak for China fifty made numerous I.
- 23:42Speaker 5: Can't give you a statement for any occasion. Yes, but
- 23:45Speaker 5: they said today they want to talk. Look China and
- 23:48Speaker 5: I don't like this. I'm not happy about this. Chinese
- 23:50Speaker 5: is getting killed right now. They're getting absolutely destroyed. Their
- 23:55Speaker 5: factories are closing, their unemployment is going through the roof.
- 23:58Speaker 6: I'm not looking to do that to China now.
- 24:00Speaker 5: At the same time, I'm not looking to have China
- 24:02Speaker 5: make hundreds of millions of dollars and build more ships
- 24:06Speaker 5: and more army tanks and more aeroplanes.
- 24:09Speaker 9: So you're not just be very clear, you're not dropping
- 24:12Speaker 9: the tariffs against China to get them to the negotiating table.
- 24:16Speaker 9: Those tariffs are staying on what I would you lower them.
- 24:19Speaker 6: At some point.
- 24:20Speaker 5: I'm going to lower them because otherwise you could never
- 24:22Speaker 5: do business with them, and they want to do business
- 24:25Speaker 5: very much. Look, their economy is really doing badly. Their
- 24:29Speaker 5: economy is collapsing.
- 24:31Speaker 9: So small businesses say they are being hurt by the
- 24:35Speaker 9: Chinese tariffs, and some could be forced to show how.
- 24:38Speaker 6: Many businesses have been helped.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Are you look at care of relief for small business?
- 24:42Speaker 7: What do you.
- 24:42Speaker 5: Always mention that you know, you pick up a couple
- 24:45Speaker 5: of little businesses? What about the car business? They're going
- 24:47Speaker 5: to make a fortune because of the teriffs? Do you
- 24:50Speaker 5: know that the union? The head of the union who
- 24:52Speaker 5: is no fan of mine, Faine Sean Fain. I guess
- 24:55Speaker 5: his name is right. He didn't indorce me the team
- 24:58Speaker 5: suits did a lot of people did, lot of unions did,
- 25:01Speaker 5: but he didn't. He couldn't stand me. Now he's saying, Wow,
- 25:05Speaker 5: what's Trump's done for the automobile? But I can't believe it.
- 25:08Speaker 5: I assume he's going to probably now say. The next
- 25:10Speaker 5: thing you can say is I endorse this guy. He's
- 25:13Speaker 5: the greatest I've ever seen. He can't believe it's happened.
- 25:15Speaker 5: He said, We've been waiting forty years for somebody to
- 25:18Speaker 5: do what Trump is doing. So why don't you mention
- 25:21Speaker 5: the big car industry instead of mentioning somebody that's doing strollers?
- 25:26Speaker 3: Well, I'm just asking you about small businesses.
- 25:28Speaker 9: Are there any discussions about giving any relief to small businesses?
- 25:33Speaker 10: They're not going to need it, Okay, Are these they're
- 25:35Speaker 10: going to make so much money? Are these if you
- 25:38Speaker 10: build your product here, remember there are no tariffs. If
- 25:42Speaker 10: you build your product here, it's very easy, it's very simple.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Are these tariffs permanent, mister President.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Depends on what you took in about one of the
- 25:53Speaker 5: things that is going to bring and has brought. So
- 25:56Speaker 5: I think we probably have close to nine trees million
- 26:00Speaker 5: dollars of investments coming into this country. If you look
- 26:04Speaker 5: at other presidents, there's never been anything like that. This
- 26:07Speaker 5: is over a period of two months. You've got to
- 26:08Speaker 5: give me a little break on the one month because
- 26:10Speaker 5: we're three months. But you know, let's say we had
- 26:12Speaker 5: to get started. We had a lot of fake news
- 26:15Speaker 5: at the beginning, so we had to beat that down.
- 26:17Speaker 6: But so let's say in two months.
- 26:20Speaker 5: So in just a short period of time, a matter
- 26:24Speaker 5: of a couple of months, we have the largest number
- 26:27Speaker 5: ever in history invested in the United States and committed.
- 26:31Speaker 5: We have between guaranteed spoken for and people that are
- 26:36Speaker 5: going to make a decision and announcer pretty simplost to
- 26:39Speaker 5: nine trillion dollars.
- 26:40Speaker 6: We've never had anything close.
- 26:42Speaker 5: Now that's Apple building five hundred billion dollars worth of plans.
- 26:46Speaker 5: They always built their plants in China. Now they're building
- 26:48Speaker 5: their plants over here. That's the biggest computer company, the
- 26:51Speaker 5: biggest chip company in the world, you know, the chip
- 26:54Speaker 5: company from Taiwan, which is the biggest in the World's
- 26:56Speaker 5: committed for five hundred billion. Another one's committed for three
- 27:00Speaker 5: hundred billion. We have companies nobody's ever.
- 27:03Speaker 6: Seen anything like it.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Let me tell you the other thing, very importantly, automobile companies,
- 27:08Speaker 5: plant after plant after plant, Toyota, Honda for General motors, stillantis.
- 27:18Speaker 5: I mean, nobody's ever seen anything like it. And I
- 27:21Speaker 5: don't like this, but it happens to be. They're stopping
- 27:24Speaker 5: work in Mexico, and they're stopping work in Canada, and
- 27:27Speaker 5: they're all moving here.
- 27:29Speaker 3: This is important, though.
- 27:30Speaker 9: You're not taking the possibility that these tariffs could be
- 27:34Speaker 9: permanent off the table some of them.
- 27:36Speaker 5: I wouldn't do that because if somebody thought they were
- 27:39Speaker 5: going to come off the table, why would they build
- 27:41Speaker 5: in the United States?
- 27:43Speaker 6: Ask you, do you understand that?
- 27:44Speaker 10: Right?
- 27:44Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 27:45Speaker 9: No, I mean that's why I'm asking because there's a
- 27:47Speaker 9: lot of I think uncertainty for CEOs, for business owners.
- 27:50Speaker 3: They want to know are they permanent.
- 27:53Speaker 5: I think there's only uncertainty in the fake news. I
- 27:56Speaker 5: don't think there's uncertainty. I mean, I've been very rigid,
- 27:59Speaker 5: very strong, but I will say I have I'm flexible.
- 28:02Speaker 5: Like with respect to parts made outside of the country.
- 28:05Speaker 5: I gave the automobile companies a little extra time. You know,
- 28:09Speaker 5: you're talking about fifteen percent and then ten percent of.
- 28:12Speaker 6: The parts made put in a car.
- 28:14Speaker 5: I gave them a little extra time without penalizing them.
- 28:17Speaker 5: And I did that only to help, you know, companies.
- 28:19Speaker 5: We're looking to help companies. We want them to thrive
- 28:21Speaker 5: and to hire a lot of people. And that's what's happening.
- 28:24Speaker 9: Let me ask you about some of what Wall Street
- 28:26Speaker 9: has said. Some people on Wall Street have expressed concerns
- 28:30Speaker 9: that the possibility of a recession is increasing, And I
- 28:34Speaker 9: want to know what you think about that. Are you
- 28:37Speaker 9: comfortable with the country potentially dipping into a recession for
- 28:41Speaker 9: a period of time if you are able to achieve
- 28:43Speaker 9: your long term goals?
- 28:44Speaker 5: Well, you know, you say some people on Wall Street say, well,
- 28:47Speaker 5: I like to tell you something else. Some people on
- 28:49Speaker 5: Wall Street say that we're going to have the greatest
- 28:52Speaker 5: economy in history. Why don't you talk about them because
- 28:55Speaker 5: some people on Wall Street say this is well, that's what.
- 28:57Speaker 3: I'm getting at. That's what I'm getting at.
- 28:59Speaker 5: Though there are many people, there are many people on
- 29:02Speaker 5: Wall Street say this is going to be the greatest
- 29:04Speaker 5: windfall ever happened.
- 29:05Speaker 9: And that's my question over the long term. Is it
- 29:08Speaker 9: okay in the short term to have our sessions?
- 29:11Speaker 5: Look, yeah, everything's okay. What we are I said, this
- 29:16Speaker 5: is a transition period. I think we're going to do fantastically.
- 29:20Speaker 5: One of your colleagues on another fake news station, ABC said,
- 29:25Speaker 5: do you guarantee one hundred percent that a certain person
- 29:30Speaker 5: is going to do a fantastic job as let's say,
- 29:33Speaker 5: secretary of Defense? Okay, because that was the question, I said,
- 29:36Speaker 5: what kind of a question is that? Do I guarantee
- 29:38Speaker 5: one hundred percent? Nobody guarantees one hundred percent, But I
- 29:41Speaker 5: will say this, I think we're going to have an
- 29:44Speaker 5: economy the likes of.
- 29:45Speaker 6: Which we've never had before.
- 29:47Speaker 5: You know, my four years were phenomenal, as you know,
- 29:50Speaker 5: the stock market in fact, even though we had to
- 29:53Speaker 5: go through the COVID thing, that horrible situation with COVID.
- 29:57Speaker 5: We did numbers and when I gave it over, when
- 30:00Speaker 5: I handed it over, the election was rigged and I
- 30:03Speaker 5: handed it and because of that, we have a lot
- 30:04Speaker 5: of problems, by the way, But when I handed it over,
- 30:07Speaker 5: what happened. The market was higher than it was previous to.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Just previous to COVID coming in. Nobody could believe it.
- 30:14Speaker 5: The sock market I'm talking about.
- 30:16Speaker 1: You listen to President here, and there is a certain
- 30:19Speaker 1: level of sophistication with this president where he's like, I'm
- 30:23Speaker 1: not backing down.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I'm not afraid to have a long discussion.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I'm going to call you out when you say things
- 30:30Speaker 1: that are egregious, and We're going to move forward in
- 30:36Speaker 1: all of these interviews, having these conversations and I'm not
- 30:40Speaker 1: going to back down.
- 30:41Speaker 2: It's amazing.
