Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest. Probably the most infamous
0:04
Speaker 1: and controversial moment in the entire sixty two year history
0:07
Speaker 1: the Grammy's happened in nineteen ninety Milli Vanilly was awarded
0:10
Speaker 1: the Best New Artist trophy, which was later rescinded after
0:13
Speaker 1: it was revealed they didn't sing any of their own music.
0:16
Speaker 1: But the controversy didn't really end for the other Best
0:18
Speaker 1: New Artist nominees because the Grammys never passed along the
0:21
Speaker 1: award to any of them, and now thirty years later,
0:24
Speaker 1: we finally know why. Earlier this month, the Grammy's decided
0:26
Speaker 1: to release their sixty six page rule book to the
0:29
Speaker 1: public in order to be more transparent. Inside, it states,
0:32
Speaker 1: the Grammy process does not produce a right result with
0:35
Speaker 1: the winner and ordered runners up. In any situation where
0:39
Speaker 1: a Grammy Award is withdrawn following the presentation, no award
0:42
Speaker 1: is given in that category for that year. So we
0:45
Speaker 1: now know if for any reason, another Grammy win is
0:47
Speaker 1: nixed like other nominees, shouldn't hold out hope. That's direct
0:52
Speaker 1: from Hollywood.
