- 0:00Speaker 1: I tell you what, Donald Trump is giving hope to
- 0:03Speaker 1: so many Americans right now, not only in North Carolina,
- 0:06Speaker 1: but also in California. And Donald Trump is now saying
- 0:11Speaker 1: he wants to overhaul FEMA because of what he has witnessed.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Because of what he has seen, President Trump on Friday
- 0:18Speaker 1: said that he plans to sign an executive order to
- 0:21Speaker 1: begin the process of fundamentally reforming and hauling FEMA, or
- 0:28Speaker 1: maybe getting rid of FEMA because of just how disastrous
- 0:32Speaker 1: the agency is run now. He toured parts of North
- 0:36Speaker 1: Carolina that were hit hard by flooding after Hurricane Helene.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Trump said he thinks the Federal Emergency Management Agency is
- 0:43Speaker 1: too bureaucratic and slow. He suggested that state governments handle
- 0:48Speaker 1: disasters within their states. The precise details about the executive
- 0:53Speaker 1: order are not immediately available. We're expecting those to come soon.
- 0:57Speaker 1: And Donald Trump did sidestep some of the questions from
- 1:01Speaker 1: reporters about a timeline for these plans, but the premise
- 1:04Speaker 1: was clear. He believes that the bureaucracy of FEMA also
- 1:09Speaker 1: plays favorites, and a great example of that is North
- 1:12Speaker 1: Carolina and what they have not received from the federal
- 1:16Speaker 1: government now. Trump invited families to talk about the flooding
- 1:20Speaker 1: that ruined their homes and their struggles with the recovery
- 1:25Speaker 1: and the lack of support from the federal government. Trump
- 1:28Speaker 1: says administration would surge quote housing solutions to North Carolina
- 1:33Speaker 1: and said he would sign executive order to lift regulation
- 1:37Speaker 1: so that roads can be rebuilt without permitting needed that
- 1:41Speaker 1: the Biden administration has left in place when they were
- 1:45Speaker 1: there knowing it was holding up the roads from being built.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Later on Friday, the President also said, look, no matter
- 1:54Speaker 1: where you live, you deserve to have the support of
- 1:56Speaker 1: the federal government. And that's why he went from the
- 1:59Speaker 1: North Carolina all the way to a briefing on the
- 2:03Speaker 1: wildfires that have ravaged Los Angeles. Donald Trump sanang this
- 2:09Speaker 1: to the people in North Carolina, giving them hope and
- 2:13Speaker 1: also bringing with him a pastor. This is something very
- 2:17Speaker 1: different than what you would see from the Biden administration. Now,
- 2:20Speaker 1: I want you to hear exactly what the President had
- 2:23Speaker 1: to say, and I also want you to hear what
- 2:26Speaker 1: was said by the Reverend Franklin Graham. Take a listen
- 2:31Speaker 1: to what he had to say about spiritual hope for
- 2:33Speaker 1: the people suffering, and then what Donald Trump said as well.
- 2:37Speaker 2: And you just wonder what you're going to do and
- 2:40Speaker 2: where you're going to go. And we just thank God.
- 2:43Speaker 2: And that's I want to say, thank God that he's
- 2:48Speaker 2: given us the resources to be able to help. And
- 2:50Speaker 2: a lot of people have helped, and not just Samaritans Purse,
- 2:54Speaker 2: but there's been many different organizations and volunteers have just
- 2:57Speaker 2: come to Western North Carolina to see to help. I
- 3:02Speaker 2: grew up, this is my backyard. I grew up about
- 3:05Speaker 2: eight miles or so from here, and a lot of
- 3:09Speaker 2: went to high school right down the road, about a
- 3:11Speaker 2: mile down the road, and so this is home to me.
- 3:16Speaker 2: But we've got a family today, and we've got the
- 3:19Speaker 2: West family. This is their house. So we're here today
- 3:28Speaker 2: to show the President just a little bit of the
- 3:33Speaker 2: damage and the problems that the people of Western North
- 3:37Speaker 2: Carolina are facing. So, mister President, thank you for what
- 3:41Speaker 2: you have done for Western North Carolina. Thank you for
- 3:44Speaker 2: coming again to see. Thank you your son, Don Junior.
- 3:49Speaker 2: He came with us twice. And so they've taken a
- 3:53Speaker 2: real interest. And this isn't a politician coming down here
- 3:58Speaker 2: looking for votes. This is a man who who wants
- 4:00Speaker 2: to do something who wants to see some changes, who
- 4:02Speaker 2: wants to make life better for you. So thank you,
- 4:07Speaker 2: and Malgnia, thank you so much for coming. That's an
- 4:10Speaker 2: honor to have you here with us. So mister President,
- 4:13Speaker 2: please thank you very much. Thank you good man.
- 4:19Speaker 3: He's done a great job, fantastic job. And we've come
- 4:23Speaker 3: to North Carolina with a simple message for all the
- 4:26Speaker 3: people of this region who were hit so hard by
- 4:29Speaker 3: Hurricane Helene. And that message is very simple. You are
- 4:33Speaker 3: not forgotten any longer. You were treated very badly by
- 4:37Speaker 3: the previous administration. And I'm here after a few days
- 4:41Speaker 3: of the administration. We're going to California, Los Angeles. They
- 4:46Speaker 3: got hit hard, as you know. A lot of that
- 4:49Speaker 3: could have been prevented. I think if they had water,
- 4:51Speaker 3: which they had plenty of, but they didn't use it.
- 4:54Speaker 3: But I'm going there. But we set up to go there,
- 4:57Speaker 3: and they said, what about North Carolina? They said, well,
- 5:01Speaker 3: what would you? I said, I have to stop there first.
- 5:03Speaker 3: I'm stopping in North Carolina. So we made the stop
- 5:06Speaker 3: and I feel very good. You're represented by some great people,
- 5:10Speaker 3: great great congressmen are with us, and we're going to
- 5:14Speaker 3: get involved with them. And Michael Wattley is here, who
- 5:18Speaker 3: is the head of the Republican Party. He worked with
- 5:20Speaker 3: Laura Trump to take us through to a tremendous victory,
- 5:24Speaker 3: one of the as the media says, one of the
- 5:27Speaker 3: most consequential presidential elections ever.
- 5:30Speaker 4: They say in one hundred and twenty nine years.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Whatever that may mean, but whatever it is, it was
- 5:36Speaker 3: a great election we had and we won year State.
- 5:38Speaker 3: All three times we won year State, and all three
- 5:41Speaker 3: primaries we won year State. So we want it six times,
- 5:44Speaker 3: I guess, mister Congressman. And it's a great place. And
- 5:47Speaker 3: I wanted to come here, and before I went anywhere, frankly,
- 5:51Speaker 3: in the campaign, I promised that I'd come back to
- 5:54Speaker 3: western North Carolina to help the people of the state.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And today here I am to deliver that promise. And
- 6:00Speaker 3: we have a lot of things in mind, and we're
- 6:02Speaker 3: getting the core of the Army Corps of Engineer Engineers
- 6:06Speaker 3: all set. You need your riverbanks fixed, you need a
- 6:08Speaker 3: lot of roads fixed, and we're going to get it
- 6:10Speaker 3: done in rapid time.
- 6:12Speaker 4: And I've asked Susie Wiles and all of my people.
- 6:16Speaker 3: To start calling up get the core ready, and they're
- 6:19Speaker 3: going to get ready to go. I don't know what
- 6:22Speaker 3: it is. I don't know what took so long for
- 6:24Speaker 3: the other administration. But remember I wasn't here for the
- 6:27Speaker 3: first four months or three months, whatever it may be. See,
- 6:30Speaker 3: we can only start as of essentially one or two
- 6:33Speaker 3: days ago, and we've made a lot of progress over
- 6:35Speaker 3: the last couple of days.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Michael, I understand.
- 6:37Speaker 3: We're going to get you the resources you need and
- 6:40Speaker 3: the support that you deserve, and we'll be at your
- 6:43Speaker 3: side through every step of the rebuilding. And no American
- 6:46Speaker 3: is going to be left behind. The people that I
- 6:50Speaker 3: just met are so great, and the people that own
- 6:53Speaker 3: that house, that house is going to be very beautiful
- 6:55Speaker 3: in a little while. And who knows, if Franklin decides,
- 6:58Speaker 3: maybe I'll rip it down them a new one, because
- 7:01Speaker 3: sometimes you can do that just as easily.
- 7:03Speaker 4: But we're going to take care of the people.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I want to thank our great first lady for coming today.
- 7:07Speaker 3: She really wanted to be here. She said, no, I
- 7:09Speaker 3: want to go, and you know, she sees what happened,
- 7:14Speaker 3: and she felt very badly and she wanted to go,
- 7:16Speaker 3: and we're then going out together to Los Angeles.
- 7:19Speaker 4: But you wanted to be in North Carolina. She said,
- 7:22Speaker 4: what happened. She has a feeling like I do for
- 7:24Speaker 4: North Carolina.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I got to just tell you, it's incredible to see
- 7:29Speaker 1: the difference in the compassion that we are witnessing from
- 7:34Speaker 1: Milania and President Trump. There's a lot of compassion, and
- 7:39Speaker 1: this is something that was not there with the Biden administration.
- 7:43Speaker 1: They look to the Carolinas in this area, they're like, Oh,
- 7:45Speaker 1: that's Trump country. We're not going to go help those people.
- 7:48Speaker 1: We're not going to show up, We're not going to
- 7:49Speaker 1: do anything for them. California totally different. Right, the government
- 7:54Speaker 1: pulled out all the stops for the people in California.
- 7:57Speaker 1: By the way, one shouldn't get more than the other
- 8:00Speaker 1: based on who's in office. It should be a non
- 8:03Speaker 1: partisan scenario. Nonpartisan is what it should be. And yet
- 8:09Speaker 1: there are so many people that are partisan on the issue.
- 8:12Speaker 1: There are so many people that are obsessed with being partisan.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And it shouldn't be the job of the government when
- 8:21Speaker 1: it comes to disaster relief. The job of the government
- 8:24Speaker 1: should be to help anyone and everyone. Whether you're black
- 8:26Speaker 1: or white, or straight or gay, or liberal or conservative,
- 8:30Speaker 1: none of that should matter. And I think what you
- 8:34Speaker 1: heard there from Trump is like I'm coming here first
- 8:36Speaker 1: because these people have been suffering, they've been forgotten. And
- 8:39Speaker 1: then I'm immediately flying to California because the people in
- 8:41Speaker 1: California matter just as much. It is a change in
- 8:47Speaker 1: precedent at a level that every one of us should support.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It's what true leaders do when people are suffering. They say,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I don't care you voted for I don't care if
- 8:57Speaker 1: you've voted for me or against me. My job is
- 9:00Speaker 1: present for all people. And that's what Trump is doing.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I want you to hear the second part of what
- 9:07Speaker 1: Donald Trump also said about the flood victims in North Carolina,
- 9:12Speaker 1: and it is very clear that they were forgotten and
- 9:16Speaker 1: he's letting them know. I'm sorry, it's delayed. I'm sorry
- 9:19Speaker 1: it's late, but we are here to help you now.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Last September, Hurricane Helene became one of the deadliest natural
- 9:26Speaker 3: disasters in modern American history. Rainfall rowse to far more
- 9:31Speaker 3: than thirty inches, which is lethal, unleashing unprecedented devastation throughout
- 9:36Speaker 3: western North Carolina and many other states.
- 9:39Speaker 4: As you know, but you got hit the hardest.
- 9:41Speaker 3: The highest responsibility and deepest obligation of the American government
- 9:45Speaker 3: is to protect its people, and that's never truer than
- 9:49Speaker 3: in times of emergency like this. Unfortunately, our government failed you,
- 9:54Speaker 3: But it wasn't the Trump government.
- 9:55Speaker 4: It was a government run by Biden. Of what a
- 10:01Speaker 4: terrible situation.
- 10:03Speaker 3: But our government failed the people of North Carolina and
- 10:06Speaker 3: this horrible crisis. For two months, Ashville lacked running water,
- 10:11Speaker 3: and even today some North Carolinians can't take a hot
- 10:15Speaker 3: water shower. They can't drink water. They don't know where
- 10:19Speaker 3: to get it. They have to it's delivered to them
- 10:21Speaker 3: by some where. They just go out and somehow find
- 10:24Speaker 3: some It's been four months since the storm made landfill,
- 10:27Speaker 3: and still one hundred and eighty roads remain closed and
- 10:31Speaker 3: in ruins. Earlier this month, the Biden administration kicked two
- 10:35Speaker 3: thousand displaced North Carolinians out of their temporary housing inter
- 10:40Speaker 3: freezing twenty degree weather.
- 10:41Speaker 4: I don't know how they did that one.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Because it was cold, even while your government provided shelter
- 10:47Speaker 3: and housing for legal aliens from all over the world.
- 10:51Speaker 3: But under the Trump administration, the days of betrayal and
- 10:54Speaker 3: the elect are over.
- 10:56Speaker 4: They are over.
- 10:58Speaker 3: As I said in my address, we restore the integrity, competency,
- 11:04Speaker 3: and loyalty of the American government, and I think I
- 11:08Speaker 3: said most of it in the inaugural address. We said
- 11:12Speaker 3: a lot of things, but one of the groups of
- 11:14Speaker 3: people I was thinking about is you in North Carolina.
- 11:18Speaker 3: A lot of that was in reference to you and
- 11:20Speaker 3: what you've had to suffer. I'm pleased to announce that,
- 11:22Speaker 3: under our leadership, the federal government will be surging housing
- 11:25Speaker 3: solutions to the state that go beyond mere temporary hotel
- 11:31Speaker 3: stays that ended up being very short termed. The government
- 11:34Speaker 3: wouldn't do it any longer, which is ridiculous. Will marshal
- 11:38Speaker 3: all available resources that bring back potable water and make
- 11:42Speaker 3: your water and infrastructure dramatically more reliable, very quickly. Today,
- 11:47Speaker 3: I'll also be signing an executive order slashing all red
- 11:52Speaker 3: tape and bureaucratic barriers and permits to ensure the rapid
- 11:56Speaker 3: reconstruction of the roads here in western North Carolina. We're
- 12:00Speaker 3: going to go through a permitting process that's called no permitting,
- 12:03Speaker 3: Just get it done.
- 12:05Speaker 4: That's the way they built them many years ago.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I guarantee you that right we will get them back
- 12:10Speaker 3: very quickly, and we'll begin the work of fundamentally changing
- 12:16Speaker 3: terminating or overhauling FEMA. FEMA has been a disaster no
- 12:19Speaker 3: matter where they are.
- 12:21Speaker 1: You know, this is what I love about this second
- 12:25Speaker 1: term Donald Trump. He understands how the government works, He
- 12:29Speaker 1: understands how incompetent the government is, and he understands the
- 12:34Speaker 1: lack of accountability when he says there about FEMA, like
- 12:37Speaker 1: we got to overhaul this thing.
- 12:38Speaker 5: It's not serving the people.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I mean, FEMA is about emergency disasters, right, And he's
- 12:45Speaker 1: there months after this all happened North Carolina, and FEMA
- 12:50Speaker 1: failed miserably and they have unlimited resources in essence, and
- 12:54Speaker 1: they waste so much money. And so what Donald Trump's
- 12:59Speaker 1: saying like, we may need to overhaul this whole damn
- 13:01Speaker 1: thing because it's so out of control.
- 13:05Speaker 5: Just how bad it is.
- 13:07Speaker 1: He then asked many family members there to come up
- 13:10Speaker 1: and tell their stories, and it was incredible to hear
- 13:15Speaker 1: their stories and what they were saying. And Donald Trump
- 13:19Speaker 1: and Milania just sat there with the congressmen and senators
- 13:21Speaker 1: and others around and just listened.
- 13:24Speaker 5: That's all they did. They just listened.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And after Trump listened to about fifteen minutes of a
- 13:29Speaker 1: couple of different families, I think it was three four
- 13:31Speaker 1: different families. He got back up to the podium, and
- 13:35Speaker 1: this is how he ended his time there with these people,
- 13:39Speaker 1: with this home that had been flooded out behind him,
- 13:41Speaker 1: that was still standing in FEMA doing nothing, with the
- 13:43Speaker 1: red tape still across that door.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Listen and thank you very much, everybody.
- 13:47Speaker 3: So we're going to be working with a congressmen and
- 13:49Speaker 3: women and they're going to do a job, and Michael
- 13:52Speaker 3: Wattley's going to be very much in charge, and you'll
- 13:55Speaker 3: get it done. And FEMA's ready to rock. They haven't
- 13:58Speaker 3: done the job. They weren't really told to do the
- 14:01Speaker 3: job by Biden. I guess Biden was thinking about other things,
- 14:04Speaker 3: wasn't he, But they weren't told what they did. What
- 14:07Speaker 3: the past administration did to North Carolina's a disgrace. So
- 14:11Speaker 3: I just want to wish you all well. I was
- 14:14Speaker 3: here right after the event and I couldn't believe it.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I have never seen anything like it. I've seen a
- 14:18Speaker 3: lot of bad things, but I've never seen anything like it.
- 14:22Speaker 4: And it's an honor to meet the people behind me.
- 14:25Speaker 3: And it's an honor to be with our congressional delegation
- 14:28Speaker 3: and some of the other politicians in the area. And
- 14:32Speaker 3: it's an honor to have Michael Wattley at my side,
- 14:35Speaker 3: because maybe we wouldn't be standing here as president if
- 14:38Speaker 3: he was, and him and Laura Laura Trump were unbelievable
- 14:41Speaker 3: as the head of the Republican Party. So he happens
- 14:44Speaker 3: to come from a place called North Carolina. So I said, Michael,
- 14:47Speaker 3: fix it. So good luck, good luck, and we'll supply
- 14:51Speaker 3: what you need.
- 14:52Speaker 4: You know that. Okay, thank you, thank you all very much,
- 14:55Speaker 4: thank you very much.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I mean, it's classic President Trump. We're gonna fix it.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Let's go see the problem. I'm in charge. Let's give
- 15:04Speaker 1: the American people what they need. And while saying that,
- 15:08Speaker 1: and while doing that, there's also another part of this,
- 15:12Speaker 1: and it is the part that he's like, all right now,
- 15:16Speaker 1: we've got to go see other things where people are hurting,
- 15:19Speaker 1: and we got to get to California and see them.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Because all Americans matter. I'm not just coming here, Okay.
- 15:26Speaker 1: All Americans matter. All Americans who are suffering their lives matter.
- 15:33Speaker 1: And so that is what we are going to focus on.
- 15:36Speaker 1: We're not playing politics, all right, We're gonna fix the problem,
- 15:41Speaker 1: and I'm going to give you people that I trust
- 15:43Speaker 1: that I believe in that are going to be here,
- 15:46Speaker 1: and they're gonna be here. We're gonna say fix it.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You hurt him there, you say, look, I know what
- 15:50Speaker 1: we've got going on. We got to fix it. Let's
- 15:52Speaker 1: fix it. And that's the best part of all because
- 15:55Speaker 1: if you're one of the people that is there, I
- 15:57Speaker 1: truly believe that you're going to look at this and
- 15:59Speaker 1: you're going to say, yeah, yeah, like, we got to
- 16:02Speaker 1: fix this. The President's given me the order, and I
- 16:05Speaker 1: am here to serve the president, and I'm going to
- 16:07Speaker 1: go in and I'm going to serve these people and
- 16:09Speaker 1: we are going to fix it. That's what we're going
- 16:12Speaker 1: to do. We're going to fix it. This is a
- 16:15Speaker 1: president taking control. Now. He also went to California and
- 16:21Speaker 1: the President had things to say there as well. And
- 16:24Speaker 1: some of it has to do with accountability because of
- 16:27Speaker 1: the mismanagement. You know, you look at what happened, for example,
- 16:30Speaker 1: in North Carolina, it's very different. It's a hurricane, and
- 16:33Speaker 1: the President is now calling out FEMA. He's calling out
- 16:38Speaker 1: the people that mismanage the wildfires and saying there needs
- 16:41Speaker 1: to be some accountability. But he did say this about
- 16:45Speaker 1: FEMA as he was at the Asheville Airport in Fletcher,
- 16:48Speaker 1: North Carolina. After touring what he saw, he was very
- 16:52Speaker 1: angry about just the.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Total lack of leadership from FEMA. Listen, well, get rid
- 17:00Speaker 5: of it.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Can you say more about silent? I think people ordered
- 17:04Speaker 2: to get rid of FEDO people.
- 17:06Speaker 3: FEMA has been a very big disappointment. They cost a
- 17:10Speaker 3: tremendous amount of money, it's very bureaucratic, and it's very slow.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Other than that, we're very happy with them, okay.
- 17:19Speaker 3: And I think it's I think when there's a when
- 17:23Speaker 3: there's a problem with a state, I think that that
- 17:26Speaker 3: problem should be taken care of by the state.
- 17:28Speaker 4: That's what we have states for.
- 17:29Speaker 3: They take care of problems and a governor can handle
- 17:32Speaker 3: something very quickly.
- 17:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 17:34Speaker 3: One of the things I've noticed, because I've been doing
- 17:37Speaker 3: this for a while and we had a pretty good FEMA,
- 17:39Speaker 3: but I also noticed that when they come they end
- 17:42Speaker 3: up in arguments of their fighting all the time over
- 17:45Speaker 3: who does what. It's just it's just not a good system.
- 17:49Speaker 3: This system is so beautifully designed over two hundred and
- 17:53Speaker 3: fifty years approximately, you know, and we'll soon be celebrating
- 17:58Speaker 3: the two hundred and fiftieth years. It's going to be
- 18:00Speaker 3: a very big celebration, but it's been designed very well
- 18:04Speaker 3: and we're going to leave.
- 18:04Speaker 2: It that way.
- 18:06Speaker 3: When North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, when everybody knows
- 18:12Speaker 3: the governor of Tennessee, I.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Think everybody do you know?
- 18:16Speaker 3: Everybody here pretty much is hope. I never thought of it,
- 18:19Speaker 3: but you're right over the ridge. So you're here to help.
- 18:24Speaker 4: The people in this region, including Tennessey.
- 18:27Speaker 3: The people of att Placia are grateful that you are here.
- 18:31Speaker 1: You can hear it in the voice of the governor
- 18:33Speaker 1: from Tennessee there saying like thank you for being here,
- 18:36Speaker 1: and thank you for not forgetting about us, because clearly
- 18:40Speaker 1: they had been forgotten. They had been forgotten by the
- 18:44Speaker 1: Biden administration because in their minds, like these people vote
- 18:46Speaker 1: for conservatives or conservative Republicans. We don't need to waste
- 18:49Speaker 1: their time down there helping them. Something happens in a
- 18:52Speaker 1: liberal area, we're all over it. Something happens in California,
- 18:55Speaker 1: we're all over it. Something happens here, we don't give
- 18:58Speaker 1: a crap. You vote for the wrong guy. That's not
- 19:01Speaker 1: how it's supposed to work. And Donald Trump made it clear,
- 19:04Speaker 1: every American that's suffering, it is part of his job
- 19:07Speaker 1: to come in into help, and that is exactly why
- 19:11Speaker 1: he left there and went to California. Donald Trump is
- 19:15Speaker 1: paying off on his promise to secure the southern border.
- 19:19Speaker 1: On January the twenty first, President Donald Trump signed several
- 19:23Speaker 1: executive orders aimed at strengthening border security. Now these were
- 19:26Speaker 1: all because of promises that he made on the campaign trail. Well,
- 19:30Speaker 1: he is now keeping those promises and turning them into
- 19:34Speaker 1: a reality for each and every American. So what has
- 19:38Speaker 1: happened so far? I want you to know the list
- 19:40Speaker 1: so you understand because many in the media are not
- 19:44Speaker 1: wanting to talk about this at all. The National Emergency
- 19:47Speaker 1: Declaration has been signed by Donald Trump. What does that mean.
- 19:51Speaker 1: It declares a national emergency at the US Mexico border
- 19:55Speaker 1: that enables the deployment of federal troops to assist in
- 19:58Speaker 1: border enforcement. This is a very important tool that the
- 20:03Speaker 1: President is using right now to shut down the southern border.
- 20:07Speaker 1: He also made good on another promise, the Remain in
- 20:10Speaker 1: Mexico policy, reinstating the policy that would require asylum seekers
- 20:16Speaker 1: legal immigrants to wait in Mexico during US immigration proceedings.
- 20:21Speaker 1: That is a one to eighty from what Joe Biden
- 20:24Speaker 1: and Kamala Harris did, which would allow for each and
- 20:27Speaker 1: every illegal immigrant that comes across the southern border, even
- 20:30Speaker 1: if they're turning themselves in to those at the border,
- 20:34Speaker 1: they're supposed to be protecting it, saying oh yeah, go
- 20:36Speaker 1: free in America. Well, that policy is no more. The
- 20:40Speaker 1: remain in Mexico policy is now back into effect and
- 20:44Speaker 1: being enforced at this hour.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Now.
- 20:46Speaker 1: You may remember that Donald Trump became president back in
- 20:49Speaker 1: twenty sixteen, many believe because of one major issue, one
- 20:53Speaker 1: major thing that kind of catapulted his campaign. It was
- 20:57Speaker 1: when he said, We're going to build a wall, a big,
- 21:00Speaker 1: beautiful wall, and he said at the time that Mexico
- 21:03Speaker 1: was going to pay for it. Now, you can argue
- 21:06Speaker 1: and debate over that, but what we know now is
- 21:08Speaker 1: that the border wall construction will be resuming and will
- 21:13Speaker 1: be finished. That's right. Through an executive order, Donald Trump
- 21:18Speaker 1: demanded the resumption and the completion of the border wall
- 21:22Speaker 1: along the southern border as soon as humanly possible. Now,
- 21:26Speaker 1: there's also a big fight that is about to happen,
- 21:29Speaker 1: and it deals with birthright citizenship, and I want you
- 21:32Speaker 1: to understand the argument here. Yes, there is the fourteenth Amendment. Yes,
- 21:38Speaker 1: the fourteenth Amendment states very clearly that if you were
- 21:42Speaker 1: born in the United States of America, you are an
- 21:45Speaker 1: American citizen. The President wants to have a debate on
- 21:49Speaker 1: that issue. So that is why he has decided, and
- 21:52Speaker 1: he knows a legal challenge is coming that we are
- 21:55Speaker 1: going to have, as he described with the termination of
- 21:58Speaker 1: birthright citizenship, specifically if you are born in the US
- 22:03Speaker 1: to illegal immigrant parents. Now, this move is going to
- 22:09Speaker 1: face legal challenges. They know this at the White House.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I don't actually believe they expect they're going to win this.
- 22:16Speaker 1: But what they're trying to do is open a national
- 22:19Speaker 1: conversation about this loophole where many illegal immigrants, days before
- 22:24Speaker 1: they're about to give birth rush the southern border, have
- 22:27Speaker 1: a child in the US and they are an American citizen.
- 22:31Speaker 1: But what it also does it allows then for the
- 22:34Speaker 1: illegal immigrant parents to have a sponsor, a family member
- 22:38Speaker 1: who is an American citizenship to get them into the
- 22:42Speaker 1: US and to get them citizenship. This is a loophole
- 22:46Speaker 1: that Donald Trump wants to have some sort of fix on,
- 22:49Speaker 1: and now he's going to get that Grand debate. There's
- 22:52Speaker 1: also something else the Democrats use, and it was an app.
- 22:57Speaker 1: It was the most powerful app, many believe, in the
- 22:59Speaker 1: world because it gave access to the United States of
- 23:02Speaker 1: America for millions and millions of illegal immigrants. You may
- 23:08Speaker 1: have heard of this app before. It was the CBP
- 23:11Speaker 1: one app. Donald Trump has now moved to disable the
- 23:16Speaker 1: CBP one app, which allows migrants to schedule quote legal
- 23:21Speaker 1: entry appointments, resulting in cancelations now for hundreds of thousands
- 23:26Speaker 1: of applicants, Donald Trump saying We're not playing that game
- 23:31Speaker 1: any longer. And then, in the biggest move so far,
- 23:34Speaker 1: in my opinion, is this, Donald Trump moved to designate
- 23:40Speaker 1: the Cartells as terrorists organizations. Not only has he classified
- 23:45Speaker 1: the Cartells's terrorist organizations, but he's also lumped into this
- 23:51Speaker 1: gang such as MS thirteen, as foreign terrorist organizations as well. Now,
- 23:57Speaker 1: what does this do well, It allows for much more
- 24:00Speaker 1: aggressive actions against these groups, including using the US military.
- 24:05Speaker 1: The question everybody has been asking now is would we
- 24:08Speaker 1: actually see the US military go into what many are
- 24:11Speaker 1: describing as a failed state, into Mexico where the Cartels
- 24:15Speaker 1: and MS thirteen gang members run the government and going
- 24:19Speaker 1: after them and taking them out. It's too soon to
- 24:22Speaker 1: tell exactly what the President's going to do, and declaring
- 24:27Speaker 1: that they are terrorist organizations what that would mean for
- 24:30Speaker 1: moving against the cartels outside of the United States of America.
- 24:35Speaker 1: What is obvious is the President right now is looking
- 24:38Speaker 1: for every tool at his disposal to do whatever he
- 24:42Speaker 1: can to protect and defend our borders and American citizens. Now.
- 24:47Speaker 1: The ICE director is also out on TV talking a
- 24:51Speaker 1: lot about what their plans are, including deportation operations that
- 24:56Speaker 1: have already begun in the US. Tom Homan was on
- 25:00Speaker 1: Fox News Channel in Here's what he said.
- 25:03Speaker 6: President Trump signing a stack of executive orders yesterday, making
- 25:06Speaker 6: good in a major campaign promise tackling illegal immigration. Let's
- 25:09Speaker 6: bringing the new borders are to the president. Tom Humman
- 25:12Speaker 6: also the former acting ICE Director. So, Tom, we were expecting,
- 25:16Speaker 6: based on your initial schedule, that today roundups of criminal
- 25:20Speaker 6: illegal aliens in the process of deporting them would begin.
- 25:23Speaker 6: It seems to have been put on hold for a
- 25:25Speaker 6: little while. When can we expect that to happen? Where
- 25:27Speaker 6: will it begin?
- 25:28Speaker 5: No?
- 25:28Speaker 7: I started, I started ICE teams all there. As of today,
- 25:33Speaker 7: we gave the in direction to prioritize public safety threats
- 25:36Speaker 7: that we're looking for, so we've been working on the
- 25:39Speaker 7: target list. There was some discussion about Chicago because a
- 25:42Speaker 7: Pacific operational plan was released, so we had a look
- 25:45Speaker 7: at and reevaluate does this raise after safety concerns? And
- 25:49Speaker 7: it does, but we've address that and teams are all
- 25:53Speaker 7: the effective today.
- 25:54Speaker 6: So critics were saying, Okay, you're going to rout up
- 25:56Speaker 6: people's at boiler, their grandmother and ship them back to
- 25:59Speaker 6: where they emigrated from. Who are the people that you're
- 26:03Speaker 6: targeting at least in this initial.
- 26:04Speaker 7: Phase, right, are the gays, public safety threats of those
- 26:07Speaker 7: who are in a country legal that's been convicted arrested
- 26:10Speaker 7: for a serious crime. But that may be clear, it's
- 26:14Speaker 7: not only public safety threats that will be arrested. Because
- 26:16Speaker 7: of sanctuary cities. We're not allowed to get that public
- 26:19Speaker 7: safety threat into jail, which means we got to go
- 26:21Speaker 7: to the neighborhood and find him, and when we find him,
- 26:24Speaker 7: he may be with others. And unlike the last administration,
- 26:26Speaker 7: we're not going to tell urce officers not to arrest
- 26:29Speaker 7: in the illegaland so if they find others, they'll be arrested.
- 26:31Speaker 7: So sanctuary city is going to get exactly what they
- 26:33Speaker 7: don't want, more agents in the neighborhood and more claud arrests.
- 26:37Speaker 6: President Trump's a number of executive orders, as we pointed
- 26:40Speaker 6: out on illegal immigration.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Here's what he signed.
- 26:42Speaker 6: He signed He declared a national Border emergency, ended birthright citizenship,
- 26:47Speaker 6: ended catch and release, reinstated remain in Mexico, designated cartels
- 26:51Speaker 6: as foreign terrorist organizations, deployed active troops to the southern border,
- 26:55Speaker 6: and end the use of the CBP one app which
- 26:58Speaker 6: many people were using to schedule interviews to claim asylum
- 27:03Speaker 6: here in the United States. I want to take a
- 27:04Speaker 6: couple of those. But let's first of all, go with
- 27:06Speaker 6: this idea of ending birthright citizenship. It's enshrined in the
- 27:09Speaker 6: fourteenth Amendment. How with an executive order can the president
- 27:13Speaker 6: change that?
- 27:14Speaker 7: Well, first of all, President drums a game changer one
- 27:17Speaker 7: of the executive orders we worked on, and these are
- 27:20Speaker 7: game change This is going to give us more secure
- 27:22Speaker 7: border in my lifetime. So great for him to do that.
- 27:25Speaker 7: Birthright citizenship is a major driver of bhilical immigration. I know,
- 27:28Speaker 7: I've done this over three decades. When the first thing
- 27:31Speaker 7: is they and doesn't get here is get birth to
- 27:33Speaker 7: you a citizen ChIL, because I think that makes him
- 27:36Speaker 7: immune from our laws. Right, so even if it goes
- 27:38Speaker 7: to immigration court, loses his case. Even though he's in
- 27:41Speaker 7: the country league, he's convicted of a crime and get
- 27:44Speaker 7: to order removal. They think that the fact have bositisant
- 27:46Speaker 7: child make immune. We can't send that message of the
- 27:49Speaker 7: whole world that you can enter our country league, which
- 27:51Speaker 7: is a crime, you commit another crime, and you can
- 27:53Speaker 7: even get removed by an immigration judge after expensive due process.
- 27:57Speaker 7: But if you have you a citizen child, you're off
- 27:59Speaker 7: the hook. We can't send that matches. We'll never fix
- 28:01Speaker 7: the more now.
- 28:01Speaker 6: But the fourteenth Amendment does not differentiate between somebody who's
- 28:04Speaker 6: in this country legally or illegally.
- 28:06Speaker 7: I'm not attorney, but I don't think the fourteen Memberschine
- 28:09Speaker 7: trying said at all. We have just as many legal
- 28:11Speaker 7: scholars constitutional scholar. Seye doesn't really say that. So what
- 28:14Speaker 7: President Trump is taking that action. We'll let Supreme Court
- 28:16Speaker 7: decide that.
- 28:18Speaker 1: I love how Tom Homan is making it clear we
- 28:20Speaker 1: want this debate. This was a very clear political decision
- 28:24Speaker 1: by Donald Trump for this debate to happen. There are
- 28:29Speaker 1: many legal scholars that say he's going to lose. But
- 28:32Speaker 1: it's obvious that the White House wants us to be
- 28:35Speaker 1: a grand debate, and that is exactly what they are
- 28:37Speaker 1: going to get all the way at the Supreme Court.
