- 2:07Speaker 1: Come on dig me nw one it only Steve Harvey
- 2:10Speaker 1: got a radio show today. I want to just share
- 2:16Speaker 1: something with you along your way to wherever it is
- 2:23Speaker 1: you're trying to get to. You know, everybody has a
- 2:26Speaker 1: different definition for success, and I'm not. I'm not here
- 2:30Speaker 1: to tell you what your should be. I mean, please
- 2:33Speaker 1: pursue whatever you think success He is aim as high
- 2:36Speaker 1: as you can though, that's for sure. My father used
- 2:42Speaker 1: to say all the time. I'm sure you all have
- 2:43Speaker 1: heard it in different variations, but he used to always say,
- 2:47Speaker 1: aim for the moon. Just in case you miss, you'll
- 2:50Speaker 1: still be amongst the stars. Just say that to me
- 2:53Speaker 1: all the time. So that always was in me to
- 2:56Speaker 1: aim high. Now he wasn't saying aim with the intent
- 3:01Speaker 1: to miss. He was just saying aim In case you miss,
- 3:07Speaker 1: you're still amongst the stars. If you aim for the moon.
- 3:11Speaker 1: But if you just aim for that first flow window
- 3:13Speaker 1: and you miss it, you know, usually run into some
- 3:18Speaker 1: type of wall and nothing happens. You slither down. You know.
- 3:22Speaker 1: In my book, act like a lady, think like a man.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I told her people that men love three ways. They profess,
- 3:27Speaker 1: they provide, they protect, and that's the core essence of
- 3:31Speaker 1: a man's love. Well, there's some other peas in life too.
- 3:37Speaker 1: The number one thing you have to understand about trying
- 3:41Speaker 1: to be successful, and I guess I call this the
- 3:45Speaker 1: four peas. I may come up with five along the way.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm just talking as is given to me.
- 3:51Speaker 1: So I'm gonna summer start by saying, as these are
- 3:54Speaker 1: the four peas of success that you have to get
- 3:58Speaker 1: ready for. Number one, it's pressure. A lot of it
- 4:03Speaker 1: is applied by the circumstance of what you're trying to
- 4:06Speaker 1: go for and what you're trying to do, but a
- 4:11Speaker 1: lot of it also is self imposed pressure. It's what
- 4:16Speaker 1: you put on yourself to make it. It's a sense
- 4:19Speaker 1: of urgency, it's a sense of necessity. But pressure is
- 4:27Speaker 1: the first thing I want you to be ready for.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And pressure comes in a lot of different forms, but
- 4:33Speaker 1: it's going to be pressured. As an old saying that
- 4:35Speaker 1: pressure buster pipe. See, that's why most people turn around,
- 4:38Speaker 1: because of the pressure of trying to be successful. I
- 4:42Speaker 1: want you to get it in your mind that it
- 4:45Speaker 1: is going to be a pressure rized situation on your
- 4:48Speaker 1: rise to the top. Pressure, but understand that that is
- 4:53Speaker 1: what it is. Is not going to change. That's it.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Prepare yourself, get ready for there to be pressure. The
- 5:03Speaker 1: second thing I want you to understand is when you
- 5:06Speaker 1: receive this pressure, you have to persist. You got to
- 5:11Speaker 1: stay at it. You got to develop a dog getness
- 5:17Speaker 1: has a There's a song who says, why must I
- 5:24Speaker 1: feel like that? Why must I chase the cat? Nothing
- 5:29Speaker 1: but the dog in me? That's a funny line in
- 5:33Speaker 1: that song, because really I was thinking about it one day.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I was humming it and and it, and it occurred
- 5:40Speaker 1: to me, said, why must I feel like that? Why
- 5:44Speaker 1: must I chase the cat? Nothing but the dog get me?
- 5:50Speaker 1: And you know, now you could take it into literal
- 5:52Speaker 1: says that the cat chases the dog because it's innately
- 5:56Speaker 1: is in his spirit. That cats and dogs are a
- 5:59Speaker 1: lot of time enemies. Now people have pets in him,
- 6:02Speaker 1: proving that if you show love on both sides, they
- 6:05Speaker 1: can exist. And that happens too, but naturally innately, when
- 6:10Speaker 1: your cat goes by a dog and your dog don't
- 6:12Speaker 1: recognize him, that some barking going on. I'm talking about
- 6:15Speaker 1: just walking through the neighborhood or something. So, but the
- 6:18Speaker 1: reason that this dog is so persistent towards this cat
- 6:25Speaker 1: is just cause it's in him. It's innately in him.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And what I'm saying to you, just using that as
- 6:33Speaker 1: an analogy, is that you got to be you got
- 6:38Speaker 1: to be persistent in that. You got to develop some
- 6:43Speaker 1: dog in you now because pressure takes some fighting back.
- 6:48Speaker 1: See if you don't fight back against pressure, pressure buster pipes,
- 6:52Speaker 1: So what you think it will do to you? Pressure
- 6:55Speaker 1: crack walls, pressure calls, explosions. So if you don't fight
- 6:59Speaker 1: back to hold it in, you understand pressure does most
- 7:03Speaker 1: people in the simple thing called pressure, the weight of
- 7:09Speaker 1: what it feels like to want to be successful every
- 7:11Speaker 1: single day, over and over and over and over and over.
- 7:15Speaker 1: It's just too much pressure. People crack. You got to persist.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You have to persist. You can the thought of giving
- 7:24Speaker 1: up can come, but you got to get it out.
- 7:27Speaker 1: You gotta persist. The next thing I want you to
- 7:32Speaker 1: think about is another something that I've been thinking about
- 7:36Speaker 1: for years and learn for years. It's called perseverance. To
- 7:41Speaker 1: persist means to insist. Its keyword in insist and persistence
- 7:48Speaker 1: insists you must. You must insist that this is going
- 7:52Speaker 1: to happen. Now, the persist I'm assuming means it's a proaction.
- 7:57Speaker 1: It's some type of proaction that you go toward. Is
- 8:00Speaker 1: it to make it? You know, persist you gotta be persistent.
- 8:04Speaker 1: You gotta be constantly at insisting that it happens. You
- 8:07Speaker 1: gotta be constantly at it. But the next thing I
- 8:10Speaker 1: want you to remember is perseverance. Perseverance is important. Perseverance
- 8:15Speaker 1: means that when you've done your best, when you've persisted,
- 8:21Speaker 1: when you're fighting back against the pressure. Perseverance simply means
- 8:26Speaker 1: I'm going to hang in here when if a crack
- 8:31Speaker 1: come into pipe, I'm gonna hang in there. If the
- 8:34Speaker 1: pipe bust, I'm gonna keep going. If I gotta put duct,
- 8:38Speaker 1: take mud, whatever I got to put on this thing. Man,
- 8:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna use perseverance. I'm going to stay with it
- 8:48Speaker 1: no matter what. So we're looking at the three things again.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You got to understand that it's gonna be pressure that
- 8:55Speaker 1: you're gonna have to persist. Keyword and persistence insist. You
- 9:00Speaker 1: have to insist that no matter what the pressure is,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna stay with it. But then perseverance. If it
- 9:06Speaker 1: goes wrong, Man, you got to get in there and
- 9:10Speaker 1: keep fighting. But then Lord Him Mercy. Nothing helps you
- 9:15Speaker 1: handle the three peas better than the fourth pea. You
- 9:18Speaker 1: got to pray. You got to use prayer. You gotta
- 9:22Speaker 1: talk to God. You gotta use faith. You gotta have
- 9:26Speaker 1: some conferences with him late at night, early in the morning,
- 9:30Speaker 1: in the middle of the afternoon, when you own the train,
- 9:32Speaker 1: when you're driving. You got to talk to God. Man,
- 9:36Speaker 1: you gotta get yourself some help along the way. Nothing
- 9:39Speaker 1: is bigger than prayer. There is nothing bigger than prayer.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Prayer will help you overcome the pressure. Prayer will help
- 9:46Speaker 1: you stay persistent, and Lord Him Mercy, prayer will help
- 9:49Speaker 1: you persevere. Them is the faux pas that just came
- 9:53Speaker 1: to me today. God gave that to me. I'm passing
- 9:56Speaker 1: it onw all right, everybody's five, ten, fifteen, twenty five thirty.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I see Shelly start. I see over there high and
- 10:08Speaker 1: I see shelling star. I see, I see a color
- 10:11Speaker 1: for rel. I see you over there, color for real.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I see I see Junior, I see you Junior. I
- 10:20Speaker 1: see King of Pranks. I see all y'all. Y'all can't
- 10:23Speaker 1: happen me. It's a team. Happy morning, shell baby, ready
- 10:26Speaker 1: to bring you some joy. What's up everybody? What's going on? Yay?
- 10:30Speaker 1: What's that? Did I take it back? He owned that tree?
- 10:35Speaker 1: I tucked in your heilboat. But I love to play
- 10:44Speaker 1: hide and go seek at night with boys. I loved
- 10:47Speaker 1: it when I was a little I did not all boys.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I just loved I did boy boy crazy. When I
- 10:57Speaker 1: was played hand and tho, I hadn't go get it
- 11:01Speaker 1: because my mother was upstairs. Okay, I think, but it
- 11:09Speaker 1: was Yeah, that was fun. That was fun. Did you
- 11:12Speaker 1: see these kids don't know? We made up games? Yeah?
- 11:18Speaker 1: Like what one potato? Two potato? Yes? Just play you
- 11:28Speaker 1: touching them? They do play it. Oh, they play it.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I haven't heard any kids playing that a long time.
- 11:34Speaker 1: What about switch man? What's that I'm not familiar with.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Somebody get a switch and they just beat the hell
- 11:40Speaker 1: out of whoever they get closed what my mama was
- 11:45Speaker 1: at home? Mama game switch? I never heard that. Yes,
- 11:53Speaker 1: well in the country, we played it. Yes. Did you
- 11:56Speaker 1: all have Mother may I yea yeah? Or I love
- 11:59Speaker 1: no man? Yeah? Oh I love Mother man. Mama, don't
- 12:03Speaker 1: catch me off that wood. I don't know what. You're
- 12:07Speaker 1: sitting on the front porch and you can't get caught
- 12:09Speaker 1: off that porch. Yeah. Oh okay, okay, okay. Someone wasn't
- 12:14Speaker 1: a real game. It was a threat. Okay, light green light, Yeah,
- 12:17Speaker 1: I love it. Did you all have Rock Teacher? Nobody
- 12:20Speaker 1: had Rock Teacher? Right, Yes, you have Rock Teacher? Yeah?
- 12:23Speaker 1: We played Rock Teacher. How about this game? Right here?
- 12:26Speaker 1: My mama at home. If you come on, we can
- 12:28Speaker 1: have a party. How about that game? In that game?
- 12:32Speaker 1: I didn't play that game. Yeah, but we played house
- 12:36Speaker 1: and stuff like that with our cousins. Yeah. We loved
- 12:40Speaker 1: to play Funeral. We love to play play Funeral. Oh.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I loved Funeral because we took turns being the dead
- 12:48Speaker 1: body you are. I just wanted to be the preacher
- 12:54Speaker 1: and the boy was not to make the dead body laugh.
- 12:56Speaker 1: You could dad body laughed, it was out and somebody
- 13:01Speaker 1: else got to be the dead body. What was the
- 13:04Speaker 1: best place to hide when nobody can find? If you
- 13:11Speaker 1: hid in them stick of bushes? Trust me, that wasn't
- 13:13Speaker 1: coming in there, did y'all? Did y'all ever have one
- 13:17Speaker 1: person count? And then everybody go home and leave his
- 13:20Speaker 1: ass out there? You know what, man, I wouldn't you? Man,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I really would remember what he does on Halloween. It
- 13:32Speaker 1: cuts all the lights out, all right? Listen, um, coming
- 13:36Speaker 1: up at thirty two after the hour, guys, we're gonna
- 13:38Speaker 1: talk about summer vacations inside of something funny. Right after this,
- 13:43Speaker 1: you're listening to show take a vacation at the International
- 13:49Speaker 1: Space Station, guys. NASA has been working on a program
- 13:52Speaker 1: that will allow tourists to live at the International Space
- 13:56Speaker 1: Station for up to a month at a time. If
- 13:59Speaker 1: they yeah, I'm a whole month, right. If they pull
- 14:03Speaker 1: this off, commercial companies will be able to lease time
- 14:06Speaker 1: up there and bring people aboard, even if they don't
- 14:10Speaker 1: have any educational or scientific reason to go. Of course,
- 14:15Speaker 1: I know, so you're just going right for a month. Yeah, float. Yeah,
- 14:19Speaker 1: but here's the catch here, here, here's the catch. You
- 14:21Speaker 1: know it's going to be a catch. Uh, it will
- 14:24Speaker 1: not be cheap. People are yes, you're right, Tommy. A
- 14:29Speaker 1: single trip will end up costing over fifty million, five
- 14:35Speaker 1: zero million dollars. That's gonna cut out a lot of
- 14:40Speaker 1: common people. Yeah, but can we send Trump though? I
- 14:46Speaker 1: will say this, I will, I will say this. Not
- 14:49Speaker 1: if my cousin get up there first. It's gonna be
- 14:52Speaker 1: some deals. Could you go be able to space station
- 14:55Speaker 1: for you believe how much you're gonna call if he
- 14:58Speaker 1: get up there first. Hena ha, come in through the
- 15:03Speaker 1: back end, come through China's part called all day long.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I would like to what daring would you like to do? Shirt?
- 15:14Speaker 1: It's something daring that you I used to want it
- 15:18Speaker 1: when bungee jumping was popular. I wanted to bungee jump.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I never did that. And then when the um you know,
- 15:25Speaker 1: when you fall out of the plane, when you jump
- 15:27Speaker 1: out of the plane, Yeah, I want I'm on the
- 15:30Speaker 1: fence about it now. I kind of still want to
- 15:33Speaker 1: do it. The adventurous in me. Uh, somebody's telling me
- 15:37Speaker 1: to do it, Yeah, somebody like our engineer it's like
- 15:43Speaker 1: he's doing. If you go to six plans, I'm not
- 15:46Speaker 1: scared if any rad except that rad, it spends you around.
- 15:49Speaker 1: That's well you stand up against. And they dropped the floor.
- 15:55Speaker 1: They dropped the floor. Yeah, yeah, I don't like that.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I did on my dad and he turned and yelled
- 16:02Speaker 1: in my face as I was fraid. I've not been
- 16:05Speaker 1: back on it since then. I haven't been on my
- 16:07Speaker 1: first roller coaster with Astra World in Houston and I
- 16:13Speaker 1: are you serious? Yeah? The cyclone yeah, oh yeah, and
- 16:19Speaker 1: lightening and I love all that. I would get on
- 16:22Speaker 1: that that Rember that ride ahead of the fair. It
- 16:24Speaker 1: looked like two bullets in the air and then would
- 16:27Speaker 1: twist around. I don't know what you call it, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 16:31Speaker 1: the salt shaker or something like that. Man, I would
- 16:33Speaker 1: get on that, right, I'll get on anything. I loved it.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I know I wasn't right, yeah, but you know you
- 16:38Speaker 1: know what was simple that I still won't get on.
- 16:41Speaker 1: It's real simple, that damn Ferris Wheel. Man. I just
- 16:44Speaker 1: don't like when they let somebody shake at the bottom
- 16:48Speaker 1: and I'm at the top. I don't like that. I don't.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I don't. That's why I don't like it because when
- 16:53Speaker 1: they stopped then you're suspended in the air and your
- 16:56Speaker 1: seat is shaking. Yeah, and that's scary rocket Yeah, sitting there. Yeah,
- 17:02Speaker 1: that's scary. That's scary. Well i'll tell you what I did.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Remember we went to Mexico and we zip line. Oh yeah,
- 17:09Speaker 1: that was fun. Fun, that was fun. That scared me
- 17:13Speaker 1: because Junior and Jay I thought you could just do
- 17:15Speaker 1: it one time and be through, but you have to
- 17:18Speaker 1: do the course back back. It's a course, so we
- 17:23Speaker 1: had to do it like twelve times. You have to
- 17:25Speaker 1: go to each station and your zip lining over a
- 17:29Speaker 1: Mexican jungle. And I remember this little girl was behind me.
- 17:32Speaker 1: She was like maybe eight, and she was searless. I
- 17:35Speaker 1: remember that girl. She was so sick of me. Jay.
- 17:38Speaker 1: She was there with her parents. She kept saying, good lady, stupid.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Yeah girl. She was like every lady. Every time you're scared,
- 17:56Speaker 1: you just want to say to the kid, look, I'm
- 17:58Speaker 1: paying for everything you ask for free. Shut up. But
- 18:02Speaker 1: ziplining was really cool once you got the hang of it,
- 18:04Speaker 1: you know, put put your head forward in your hands. Yeah,
- 18:08Speaker 1: don't don't look down. Yeah, especially if you're afraid of heights. Yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 1: but I'm good. I don't have to ever do it
- 18:13Speaker 1: to get him. Yeah, but it was fun at the time.
- 18:16Speaker 1: It was a fun adventure because we've never done that before. Yeah. Yeah,
- 18:19Speaker 1: but you know what, My next one is a Safaris.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I've done that. I've done that. You've done this far,
- 18:27Speaker 1: like an African Safari. We went to Africa and these
- 18:30Speaker 1: elephants came out. I lost my mind, man, because you
- 18:33Speaker 1: guy said, do not move, do not move. I cried
- 18:38Speaker 1: like a white woman. I really did. I've heard like
- 18:44Speaker 1: Steve's been as well, and he says, you gotta do that.
- 18:48Speaker 1: It's a once in a lifetime experience. You'll never experience
- 18:51Speaker 1: anything like that. But I don't know. I'm like, I
- 18:53Speaker 1: know what you you should have done. Have you ever
- 18:55Speaker 1: been in Chicago and gone up in the building that
- 18:58Speaker 1: has a glass floor and walk that on that glass floor?
- 19:01Speaker 1: Have you done that at the old Yes, yeah, you
- 19:04Speaker 1: walk out on the glass and you're like you're on
- 19:06Speaker 1: a big piece of glass. I never I never did that,
- 19:12Speaker 1: and I was born and raised I would do that.
- 19:17Speaker 1: It was new. I was new. Yeah. I thought she
- 19:20Speaker 1: was gonna say go out at night on the South Side.
- 19:22Speaker 1: That's what I thought you was gonna say, to get
- 19:25Speaker 1: a subway se Wow. Yeah, that's really scary, it's really dangerous. No.
- 19:39Speaker 1: But fun summers though, Yeah, we've done some fun and
- 19:41Speaker 1: exciting things. Yeah, fun summers really have and and more
- 19:45Speaker 1: to come, you know, God willing more to come. Yeah,
- 19:47Speaker 1: it's not over. Did y'all go on vacation in the
- 19:51Speaker 1: city that you lived, you know, like your mama took you.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Your mama just took you to a hotel in the sea. Oh, yeah,
- 19:58Speaker 1: we do that. We just went to my run. That
- 20:01Speaker 1: was us, right, Yeah, we used to do picnics a
- 20:05Speaker 1: lot being little right to the country and then in
- 20:08Speaker 1: the projects and we went to the country. Yeah all right. Well,
- 20:13Speaker 1: coming up next is run that prank back with the nephew.
- 20:16Speaker 1: He's in the building. More fun, more laughs. Right after this,
- 20:20Speaker 1: you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up at
- 20:25Speaker 1: the top of the hour, Guys Entertainment News. But first,
- 20:28Speaker 1: the nephew in the building would run that prank back?
- 20:30Speaker 1: What you got, nass? The gift? Junior? Who is that
- 20:37Speaker 1: doing it? Is that Tommy and Junior? I did it
- 20:39Speaker 1: the exact same way. How did you do with your
- 20:44Speaker 1: the gift. Can't tell I didn't say why Pip. It's
- 20:49Speaker 1: like the same person. Run it cat. Hello, Hello, I'll
- 20:55Speaker 1: try to read three. Hey free, how are you doing? Listen?
- 20:58Speaker 1: We um you're we've never met. I wanted to reach
- 21:01Speaker 1: out to you, though, did you um? Did you get um?
- 21:04Speaker 1: Did you get a package? I sent to you last week?
- 21:07Speaker 1: A package? Who is it? My name? My name is
- 21:10Speaker 1: Jason Um And I sent you a package? Do I
- 21:13Speaker 1: know you? Who are you? Say? Again? Uh? How do
- 21:17Speaker 1: I know you? You don't know me. I'm just you know,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I guess you could say I'm like a secret admirer.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And I've been in mind you for quite some time.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And uh, you know, I sent you a little something.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Uh you know, I didn't know if if you got
- 21:28Speaker 1: it or not if I had to write that dress,
- 21:30Speaker 1: but I wanted to know if you had gotten it.
- 21:32Speaker 1: So you know, this is like my first time reaching
- 21:34Speaker 1: out to you. You I sent to my house. Uh yeah,
- 21:38Speaker 1: I mean you got you got a pair of a
- 21:40Speaker 1: pair of my underwear with the rose petals all in it. Said, yeah,
- 21:43Speaker 1: you drove out to my house. Who are you? And
- 21:47Speaker 1: how did you know me? But I've been in mind
- 21:51Speaker 1: you for a long time, and I see y'all, see

- 28:39Speaker 1: right after this you're listening show, all right, some sad
- 28:46Speaker 1: news to report, really sad news out of Houston. Ghetto
- 28:50Speaker 1: Boys rapper Bushwick bill Um has passed away. He was
- 28:54Speaker 1: fifty two years old. I think we mentioned earlier this
- 28:58Speaker 1: month that he was going through uh he was ill
- 29:01Speaker 1: and he's been in a hospital. He was in a
- 29:03Speaker 1: hospital bed in Houston, surrounded by his family when he
- 29:06Speaker 1: passed away. It was around nine thirty five pm local
- 29:10Speaker 1: time in Houston. Bushwick Bill's son Javan says his final
- 29:14Speaker 1: words were I will love you forever. Yes, and a
- 29:19Speaker 1: legend yeah yeah yeah, the Ghetto Boys. Yes, a man
- 29:23Speaker 1: playing chicks on me. Oh yeah yeah yeah is a
- 29:29Speaker 1: rapper as well, all his son is, Okay, yeah, Now,
- 29:35Speaker 1: you guys are from Houston, h town. You guys are
- 29:39Speaker 1: from Carlos, You're from you yeah, uh Tommy Junior. So
- 29:45Speaker 1: so the Ghetto Boys, I mean, what do they mean
- 29:47Speaker 1: to you guys? I means down they are a very
- 29:55Speaker 1: historical to Houston. I mean the man, I mean, they
- 29:58Speaker 1: hearstory across the world, but they mean a lot to
- 30:01Speaker 1: us in Houston, Texas a whole. Well, they helped Tommy,
- 30:04Speaker 1: They helped put Houston on the map, you know, with
- 30:06Speaker 1: hip hop and people you know, got introduced to Willie
- 30:10Speaker 1: D and Scart fans and you know Bushwick and then
- 30:13Speaker 1: you know, people don't know. I don't know if people
- 30:15Speaker 1: really know that Bushwick he was born with the condition
- 30:19Speaker 1: of dwarfism and he shot himself in the eye, you know,
- 30:24Speaker 1: because you know, people were wondering about what happened, and
- 30:28Speaker 1: it was he was an accident. Yeah, it was an
- 30:31Speaker 1: accident and he got into an argument with his girlfriend.
- 30:34Speaker 1: But he was under the influence of yeah alcohol and
- 30:38Speaker 1: you know, trying to turn his life. I just saw
- 30:42Speaker 1: him like a month ago. Yeah, I'll say this. I'll
- 30:45Speaker 1: say this about Bushwick. What I said. What I remember
- 30:47Speaker 1: most about Bushwick, it's around the holiday time because Bushwick
- 30:51Speaker 1: had passed out turkeys back to the community. Also by
- 30:56Speaker 1: Christmas for inner city kids. He by bikes. He was
- 30:59Speaker 1: that type of giving. Yeah, no ego at all. Yeah,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I thought him before another show I worked on, and
- 31:07Speaker 1: just a nice guy. He just wanted to be loved.
- 31:09Speaker 1: That's what I got from. He just wanted people to
- 31:12Speaker 1: love him. No, yeah, yeah, man, he was in hanging
- 31:18Speaker 1: out when those three boys hit the stage. Oh god.
- 31:24Speaker 1: But you know what a lot of people don't know.
- 31:25Speaker 1: There's a lot of good groups that came out of Houston, man.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I mean a lot of groups came yeah h Town,
- 31:32Speaker 1: h Town. Yeah yeah. We could start with the Queen herself, yes, yeah,
- 31:43Speaker 1: But our condolences to the family of bush with Bill
- 31:46Speaker 1: his son Javan again family that's his last name. The
- 31:50Speaker 1: music will live on forever. Yeah, announced last month that
- 31:54Speaker 1: he had stage four pancreatic cancer. He had received that diagnosis,
- 31:59Speaker 1: so answered him. Rappel family. Yeah, yes, yeah, Jay Bran,
- 32:04Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I heard that's gonna be a public memorial
- 32:06Speaker 1: to the family. Might do that as well. And uh
- 32:10Speaker 1: so wow all right, well um wow, yeah, that's that's
- 32:17Speaker 1: sad um because he's part of our growing up and everything.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I mean, we remember him and their their music and
- 32:23Speaker 1: all of that, and uh yeah absolutely, and miss Anne's here,
- 32:28Speaker 1: uh now with more on the headlines and the latest,
- 32:31Speaker 1: of course on that deadly helicopter crash in New York
- 32:34Speaker 1: City on Seventh Avenue. But first we do have to
- 32:38Speaker 1: say happy belated birthday to miss Anne. Her birthday ever,
- 32:44Speaker 1: miss Anne. It was yesterday, and of course she had
- 32:47Speaker 1: the day off to celebrate. And miss Anne, we love
- 32:50Speaker 1: you and we celebrate you every day. We love Missanne. Yes, yes, yes,
- 32:55Speaker 1: we love you. All right, Jay, alright, everybody, it's time
- 32:58Speaker 1: for the News with miss Ann trip. All right, thank
- 33:01Speaker 1: you very much. And that was twenty one for the
- 33:03Speaker 1: twenty first time yesterday. Okay, anyway, this is an trip
- 33:05Speaker 1: with the news. Good morning. After weeks negotiation, the Justice
- 33:08Speaker 1: Department has finally agreed to provide the Congress with the
- 33:11Speaker 1: key evidence collected in the Mulla Report, evidence that could
- 33:13Speaker 1: shed light on possible obstruction of justice and abuse of
- 33:16Speaker 1: power by President Trump. Not just what the Justice Department
- 33:19Speaker 1: has agreed to provide is not clear. However, the House
- 33:22Speaker 1: Judiciary Committee, which asked for the extra material, is indicating
- 33:25Speaker 1: that the Justice Department moves a real breakthrough. So it
- 33:28Speaker 1: also looks as if the House will back away from
- 33:30Speaker 1: threats to hold US Attorney William Barr, who use Attorney
- 33:33Speaker 1: General rather William Barr, in contempt of Congress, even though
- 33:37Speaker 1: the House of schedule will proceed later today with a
- 33:39Speaker 1: vote to empower the Judiciary Committee to take Bar to
- 33:42Speaker 1: court to fully enforce its subpoena, even though again that
- 33:46Speaker 1: may not longer be met necessary, but they're probably gonna
- 33:49Speaker 1: take a vote anyway. The stock market bounced back yesterday
- 33:51Speaker 1: after President Trump didn't fall through on his threat to
- 33:53Speaker 1: impose escalating tariffs on all Mexican goods. But the presidentel
- 33:57Speaker 1: CNBC hey make no mistake, it was because of his threat.
- 34:00Speaker 1: He says that our neighbor to the south agreed to
- 34:02Speaker 1: do more to curb the flow of migrats with Central America.
- 34:05Speaker 1: If we didn't have tariffs, we wouldn't have made a
- 34:07Speaker 1: deal with Mexico. We got everything we wanted, and we're
- 34:10Speaker 1: going to be a great partner to Mexico now because
- 34:13Speaker 1: now they respect us. US business leaders, even some Republicans
- 34:16Speaker 1: had criticized the idea of saying it would have had
- 34:18Speaker 1: a negative effect on both our economies. But now Trump
- 34:21Speaker 1: is also threatening to slap tariffs on China unless he
- 34:24Speaker 1: can get a deal that he wants out of them.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Former Red Sox slugger David Ortiz recovering after being shot
- 34:30Speaker 1: in a bar in his native Dominican Republic. He's now
- 34:32Speaker 1: been flown to Boston for post surgical care. Local authorities
- 34:36Speaker 1: say that an unidentified man shot the legendary player in
- 34:39Speaker 1: the back. It was in a club, a group like
- 34:40Speaker 1: a restaurant type of thing, point blank range to gumm
- 34:43Speaker 1: and was riding a motorcycle. Dave Ortiz rushed through a
- 34:46Speaker 1: nearby clinic where he underwent life saving surgery, losing part
- 34:49Speaker 1: of his gall bladder part of his intestine. They say
- 34:52Speaker 1: his liver also damaged. He's listed in stable condition before
- 34:55Speaker 1: being flown to Boston. Meanwhile, the man who drove the
- 34:57Speaker 1: motorcycle that the gun was on the guide driving it
- 35:00Speaker 1: was snatched off and badly beaten by the crowd. He's
- 35:03Speaker 1: under arrest. They're questioning him. They retired David Ortie's nickname
- 35:06Speaker 1: Big Poppy, played in the Majors for twenty seasons. Real
- 35:10Speaker 1: sad news in the world of sports. In Florida, former
- 35:12Speaker 1: Coltson Ram's cornerback Eric Patterson shot and killed Saturday morning,
- 35:16Speaker 1: according to Tampa Bay Police. His roommate heard a commotion
- 35:18Speaker 1: inside their home and came inside to find Patterson lying
- 35:21Speaker 1: on his back. They say the twenty six year old
- 35:23Speaker 1: athlete was taken to a nearby hospital and he later
- 35:25Speaker 1: died there. Looking for the gunman, the pilot killed out
- 35:28Speaker 1: yesterday miraculously in New York City, where Noris was injured
- 35:30Speaker 1: when it took off at thirty fourth Street and actually
- 35:33Speaker 1: landed on the top of a building. Finally, today is
- 35:35Speaker 1: National German Chocolate Day. I guess some people really like
- 35:40Speaker 1: Choco Choco lutein out back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 35:43Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show and trending hip
- 35:48Speaker 1: hop news. Dozens of fans brave the rain to show
- 35:51Speaker 1: support for the late Notorious Big in New York City
- 35:54Speaker 1: on Monday. It was the day before what would have
- 35:59Speaker 1: been it's forty seventh birthday. Wow, wow, so young. Time
- 36:04Speaker 1: waits for no one that is for sure forty seven
- 36:07Speaker 1: years old. Biggie's mom, Valetta Wallace, Miss Valada Wallace, I
- 36:10Speaker 1: should say, spoke to the crowd in the bed Stye
- 36:13Speaker 1: section of Brooklyn at a street renaming ceremony. Saint James
- 36:17Speaker 1: Place at the corner of Fulton Street is now called
- 36:20Speaker 1: Christopher Notorious Big Wallace Way. Wow. You wait, and I
- 36:27Speaker 1: need to sound good. What's you say, Biggie Way? Yeah?
- 36:35Speaker 1: Where you at, Jake, where you at? I'm right over here,
- 36:37Speaker 1: Biggie Way, Swing by and get a brother, man. I
- 36:40Speaker 1: love that. I love that. So the street is now
- 36:43Speaker 1: going to be called Christopher Notorious Big Wallace Way in
- 36:46Speaker 1: honor of Biggie who grew up just down the block
- 36:49Speaker 1: and helped put the hood on the map, on the
- 36:51Speaker 1: wrap map. They did Obama signs. They were stealing them,
- 36:55Speaker 1: and they kept putting them up and they was stealing them. Oh.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Here in California. Yeah, and a point, so they had
- 37:01Speaker 1: to put him up higher and because people were stealing them.
- 37:04Speaker 1: So don't figure out the way. Don't figure out Alan
- 37:09Speaker 1: boats Alan Rinch. Ain't nobody got know Alan Rinch. Is
- 37:15Speaker 1: that when you're under the car and you're fixing the
- 37:17Speaker 1: car and you slide out and say hand me that,
- 37:20Speaker 1: Alan and try not. Yes, Yes, it's that wrench that
- 37:26Speaker 1: comes with the achia stuff. Yeah it is. It is.
- 37:29Speaker 1: It's shaped like a seven or an el. Yeah, a
- 37:32Speaker 1: little I put I promise you. I'm saying it's gonna
- 37:35Speaker 1: stay up. Well. Biggie's son Christopher Wallace Junior and his
- 37:39Speaker 1: daughter Tianna were both on hand and honor to honor
- 37:44Speaker 1: their dad, as was his former Junior Mafia group member
- 37:47Speaker 1: and Bad Boy label mate. Of course, you know Little
- 37:51Speaker 1: Kim was going to be there, but was there any day?
- 37:54Speaker 1: I saw it. I saw the ceremony on TV and
- 37:58Speaker 1: Kim was doing a thing little Sea Vegas. Who did
- 38:06Speaker 1: you tell us that? Oh? Yeah, you know Jane's party. Man. Look,
- 38:10Speaker 1: Kim grabbed that microphone. Fore names go ahead, Tommy, I
- 38:14Speaker 1: love you man. You dropped black name. Yeah, he saw
- 38:17Speaker 1: a little Kim and Janet's birthday party and Janet after
- 38:26Speaker 1: after your friends dropped the Mike name, We're him and
- 38:32Speaker 1: Teddy Radley got through. Coming up next at thirty four
- 38:38Speaker 1: after the hour of the NBA Finals. Whoa, this is
- 38:42Speaker 1: a this is something people didn't expect telling the Raptors
- 38:45Speaker 1: versus the Warriors. What come on, you're listening to Steve
- 38:52Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, junior, you are here the sports.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, we still got some basketball. It's so
- 39:03Speaker 1: low basketball. It shouldn't have been one o six to
- 39:07Speaker 1: one oh five. Golden State Warrior pulled it off. Oh
- 39:10Speaker 1: my god, man, all that was close. I feel for
- 39:14Speaker 1: Toronto they were right there. I'm like they lost that game. Team. Yeah.
- 39:19Speaker 1: You know what, man, when you when you got a
- 39:23Speaker 1: team like Golden State down three to one, you're supposed
- 39:25Speaker 1: to go on on finish deal and you at home,
- 39:27Speaker 1: you're supposed to finish the finish that. And then Kevin
- 39:30Speaker 1: Durant played the game where he got he gave that
- 39:37Speaker 1: a limp. If they don't hit that eleven from Kevin,
- 39:38Speaker 1: they lose, Yeah, because boy, he was on fire. Yeah,
- 39:44Speaker 1: you know, I'm much about basketball. They're Canada with the
- 39:48Speaker 1: USA Okay, that's all I'm going on. They're Canada with
- 39:52Speaker 1: the USA. Got to do with in Canada? Were what
- 40:00Speaker 1: do you say? Has got nothing to do with basketball?
- 40:04Speaker 1: They're in Canada. What you're trying to say, they're out
- 40:09Speaker 1: the country? Okay, So Junior tell us about Okay, so
- 40:19Speaker 1: you watched the game last night? Yeah, so what happened?
- 40:21Speaker 1: I mean, I agree with Tommy Toronto, they're supposed to close.
- 40:25Speaker 1: It was, you know, Clay Thompson hit a big shot
- 40:27Speaker 1: with fifty six seconds left in the game and that
- 40:31Speaker 1: gave them one on six, one on three lead, and
- 40:33Speaker 1: I'm telling you that was big. But then it was
- 40:35Speaker 1: some de Marcus could we had the game and you
- 40:38Speaker 1: fick you had an illegal pick that gave the ball
- 40:41Speaker 1: back to Toronto. But then they threw the ball away
- 40:47Speaker 1: right after that, So now you got that's two turnovers
- 40:49Speaker 1: under a minute. You can't have that. That's They're Canada.
- 40:53Speaker 1: And where do you shut up? And did you see
- 40:57Speaker 1: Monica sing me singer Monica? Yeah, she did the national
- 41:02Speaker 1: anthem and oh because because she's going no, look, Junior,
- 41:09Speaker 1: let her get through what she's going through. Hey three
- 41:13Speaker 1: through a regular paper. The ink on the papers aren't
- 41:16Speaker 1: even dry yet. The olders put in, that's what you
- 41:22Speaker 1: need to understand, the oldest end. So when you come out,
- 41:25Speaker 1: there's somebody outside, I will be out at the courthouse.
- 41:28Speaker 1: What they say? So what you think now, Tommy, Game
- 41:33Speaker 1: six Oakland, Junie, I'm still I'm still pulling for Toronto.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I'm still man. I still think they're gonna pull it off.
- 41:42Speaker 1: They have won, they won what two games in um
- 41:46Speaker 1: in Golden States, So it's doable. It's doable. Yeah, you
- 41:51Speaker 1: know an old pen. How you say, how y'all going
- 41:55Speaker 1: against your own country? This because we're Rockets fans and
- 41:58Speaker 1: Golden State always thank you beat the Rockets. So we cheered.
- 42:03Speaker 1: We cheered for Toronto, the East, whoever in the East, anybody.
- 42:08Speaker 1: It could have been Philadelphia, we don't care. Laukee, we
- 42:11Speaker 1: didn't care. No, No, we're gonna I think it's I
- 42:15Speaker 1: think it's gonna go seven games, though, I really do
- 42:18Speaker 1: at this point, I don't want it to, but I
- 42:21Speaker 1: think it's gonna be seven. I don't think Kevin Durant
- 42:23Speaker 1: coming back. No, No, he was all crutches. Yeah he's done.
- 42:27Speaker 1: He gave it a good shot though. No, what you
- 42:30Speaker 1: saw last night was Kevin Durant's last game as as
- 42:32Speaker 1: a warrant. You think he gonna where New York, New York?
- 42:39Speaker 1: My husband said, probably go to New York, which is
- 42:42Speaker 1: which is really good man. This time last year we
- 42:45Speaker 1: were talking about though, but Lebron coming to LA this
- 42:49Speaker 1: time last year were I can't even that. You said that,
- 42:56Speaker 1: and I said, this is all Kyrie. Urban's absolutely because
- 43:02Speaker 1: that's the true Kie would have stayed in Cleveland. We
- 43:05Speaker 1: would have none of these none of it where Kyrie. Oh,
- 43:10Speaker 1: I don't know one thing why he ain't. After every
- 43:15Speaker 1: game I always called Junior, was this a loss? Or yeah?
- 43:20Speaker 1: He do right here that that was a loss. That
- 43:24Speaker 1: was two teams. That's a lost one h six one five.
- 43:27Speaker 1: You can't play it, nobody, Wow, you know, and then
- 43:30Speaker 1: you both live, just fight another day. So you got
- 43:32Speaker 1: to see. So next game gonna be third and what
- 43:35Speaker 1: was the Schmer time? One six, one oh five Golden
- 43:38Speaker 1: State point. The nephew is up next with the prank
- 43:41Speaker 1: phone call right after this by Kevin Durant. You're listening
- 43:47Speaker 1: to show all right, coming up at the top of
- 43:51Speaker 1: the hour, right about four minutes after it's my strawberry
- 43:54Speaker 1: letter for today subject there's turmoil in my congregation. Oh
- 43:59Speaker 1: you're hear that? Oh this must be from a pastor
- 44:02Speaker 1: what there's turmoil in my congregation? It could be any
- 44:09Speaker 1: church in America. But right now the nephew is here
- 44:12Speaker 1: with today's prank phone call. But you might as well
- 44:15Speaker 1: going on and get in that category. Today's title is
- 44:19Speaker 1: church fee, church fee? As man that you prank in
- 44:25Speaker 1: the church? Are you even allowed to go? I go
- 44:28Speaker 1: to churches where they don't know who I am. I
- 44:35Speaker 1: go where I cannot be recognized? Right, man, this is
- 44:39Speaker 1: church fees running can't now? Hello, Hello, I'm trying to
- 44:46Speaker 1: reach hey, how are you doing? This is this is
- 44:49Speaker 1: brother Glenn from the church. Hey, brother Glenn, how are
- 44:52Speaker 1: you doing? I'm good, I'm good, I'm real good. Did
- 44:54Speaker 1: you enjoy service morning? Oh? I enjoyed it. Pasta bast
- 45:01Speaker 1: have brought it down? Oh my god? That was a
- 45:05Speaker 1: word for me, right right, right right? So what do
- 45:08Speaker 1: our old? The pleasure of this call? I wanted to
- 45:10Speaker 1: give you some information that the that the church has
- 45:14Speaker 1: come up with, and we wanted to let you know
- 45:16Speaker 1: what was going on before the next Sunday. I didn't
- 45:19Speaker 1: interrupt you that Oh no, no, I actually I may
- 45:22Speaker 1: sound a little a little off a little bit. I'm
- 45:24Speaker 1: trying to get getting ready for my little babies, my
- 45:26Speaker 1: little darlins, and I'm trying to Your voice sounds so
- 45:29Speaker 1: familiar to me. It just sounds so familiar. Trying to
- 45:32Speaker 1: place place that voice. Okay, Well, you've seen me at
- 45:34Speaker 1: the church quite a few times. I think I have
- 45:36Speaker 1: I'm just trying to place it. I can't place it
- 45:38Speaker 1: right now, but look at it. Well, nevertheless, I just
- 45:41Speaker 1: wanted here's here's what's going on. Uh now you aware
- 45:44Speaker 1: of that for the last the last six Sundays, you've
- 45:46Speaker 1: been actually coming in the service late. Have you realized that, Yes,
- 45:50Speaker 1: I know, I'm sorry about that, but uh you know,
- 45:54Speaker 1: yes I have, I have my reasons. So okay, okay,
- 45:57Speaker 1: Well here's what's going on. The officials at the church
- 46:00Speaker 1: have gotten together and this is what they've decided on,
- 46:03Speaker 1: is that anybody who is late starting next Sunday, there
- 46:07Speaker 1: would be a fifteen dollars charge for that for coming
- 46:10Speaker 1: in and disrupting services fastest, the fastest tide of service
- 46:15Speaker 1: being disrupted by people walking in late. That that could
- 46:18Speaker 1: not come at a worst time. I don't have fifteen
- 46:21Speaker 1: dollars to give. Look, I'm sorry, I'm sorry that we late.
- 46:26Speaker 1: We are doing our best. Have three young kids two
- 46:30Speaker 1: seven and nine, and they are a handful, and we
- 46:34Speaker 1: do the best that we can to get the church
- 46:36Speaker 1: on time, and to tell you the truth, when we
- 46:39Speaker 1: get there, it's doing praise and worships. I mean, past
- 46:42Speaker 1: they ain't even preaching yet, so I know it's not
- 46:45Speaker 1: Pastor's not up yet, but he's he's stating that people
- 46:48Speaker 1: coming in. It just seems very disrupted to the service
- 46:51Speaker 1: that's going on. That's so. Nevertheless, like I said, this
- 46:53Speaker 1: is a warning call, you know, to let you know
- 46:55Speaker 1: that if you are late on next Sunday, then they
- 46:58Speaker 1: will be charging you fifteen dollars a late charge and
- 47:02Speaker 1: actually you won't be able to even come in you
- 47:05Speaker 1: until your papers dollars. I can't even get in church
- 47:09Speaker 1: with we Look, okay, look, I don't owe nothing. I
- 47:13Speaker 1: don't owe you no explanation, but I need to tell
- 47:15Speaker 1: you something. We are me and my kids for the
- 47:18Speaker 1: last a few Sundays that we've been late. It's because
- 47:22Speaker 1: my car broke down. We are owned the bus man
- 47:25Speaker 1: public transportation. Okay, I mean and I understand, I understand,
- 47:29Speaker 1: civilize with everything that you're going through. But why are
- 47:32Speaker 1: you calling if you understand? Why are you calling me
- 47:33Speaker 1: about fifteen dollars? If you understand what I'm going through? Well?
- 47:36Speaker 1: I didn't. I first of all, I didn't know what
- 47:37Speaker 1: you were going Why are you raising your voice at me?
- 47:40Speaker 1: Why are you raising? Did you just raise your voice
- 47:42Speaker 1: at me? You know what? You know what I think?
- 47:44Speaker 1: You're raising your voice at me? How dare you call
- 47:47Speaker 1: me about this? About a feet and I'm there at church.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I got my keys in desks, trying to raise them
- 47:54Speaker 1: up is where they should go, just like the Bible say.
- 47:57Speaker 1: And you know why I gotta do this and why
- 47:59Speaker 1: I'm late while we got to test the bus. Do
- 48:01Speaker 1: you understand why that is? Brother Glenn, No, I do not.
- 48:05Speaker 1: That is because they to their dad is ain't and
- 48:08Speaker 1: they yes, Tracy, you got to calm down a little
- 48:11Speaker 1: bit now. Oh Jesus help me, Jesus help me, Jesus. Okay,
- 48:14Speaker 1: listen us. All I can do is tell you this.
- 48:17Speaker 1: I hope you can make it. Maybe you can catch
- 48:19Speaker 1: earlier bus, you know what I mean, and get there
- 48:22Speaker 1: a little earlier. But but I'm just stating the fact
- 48:25Speaker 1: that as of next Sunday, if you come in late,
- 48:27Speaker 1: it's fifteen dollars late fee, and that's what you'll pay
- 48:30Speaker 1: in order to get in the service. You know what, Well,
- 48:32Speaker 1: maybe next Sunday I just won't be there. How about that.
- 48:36Speaker 1: You know, I'm already working six days a week. The
- 48:40Speaker 1: only day I have off is Sunday. I've been baking,
- 48:42Speaker 1: breaking my back. Do you know I work two jobs.
- 48:45Speaker 1: I work two jobs, and they always trying to take
- 48:46Speaker 1: money out of my check, always trying to pull me
- 48:49Speaker 1: here and there, and I'm always tired. I get two
- 48:51Speaker 1: hours asleep and then now the church wants to dump
- 48:53Speaker 1: another fifteen dollars charging me for being at church. Well
- 48:57Speaker 1: that's what I'm supposed to do. But you're coming in late,
- 49:00Speaker 1: so you know what. You know what, late ain't bad. Okay,
- 49:06Speaker 1: I might be delayed, but I ain't denied, and I'm
- 49:08Speaker 1: getting there the best ways that I know how. We're
- 49:10Speaker 1: o the bus. I have to put my kids on
- 49:12Speaker 1: the school bus, and not only have to put them
- 49:14Speaker 1: on the school bus, and I have to get on
- 49:15Speaker 1: the bus to myself to work because I don't have
- 49:18Speaker 1: a car. Because they Daddy's ain't doing nothing nothing for them.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Do you understand what I'm saying to you? I need
- 49:24Speaker 1: to understand d Daddy number one, guess what hint? Daddy
- 49:29Speaker 1: for two he in jail, been there by five years,
- 49:32Speaker 1: he ain't. And Daddy number three he decided to go
- 49:36Speaker 1: ahead and walk out, ain't. I ain't heard from that
- 49:39Speaker 1: that in about seven months now. He know we're struggling.
- 49:43Speaker 1: He had the nerve to take my wallet too. You don't.
- 49:45Speaker 1: You don't even understand what I'm going through. You don't
- 49:47Speaker 1: even understand that I'm trying to make a better life
- 49:49Speaker 1: for me and my children. There is one more thing
- 49:51Speaker 1: since the Tracy that the Church wants you to know
- 49:53Speaker 1: before next Sunday that you definitely need to know. But
- 49:56Speaker 1: what one more thing does the church want me to know?
- 49:58Speaker 1: It's like sixteen dollars? The Church will wants you to
- 50:00Speaker 1: know that. This is nephew Tommy from the Steve Harvey
- 50:03Speaker 1: Morning Shoe. Your sister Patrese got me to prank phone
- 50:06Speaker 1: call you. I am gonna what are you know? I
- 50:16Speaker 1: ain't got time for that. No, I ain't got time
- 50:19Speaker 1: for that, oh girl, your sister all right? Oh, I
- 50:27Speaker 1: got something for her. How about that? Tell me she said,
- 50:31Speaker 1: she said, my sister corporal down. She says, she got
- 50:34Speaker 1: these kids. She over here struggling and struggling, and she's
- 50:37Speaker 1: trying to make it. But you gotta give a hard time.
- 50:40Speaker 1: She just wanted, she wanted, she wanted you to put us.
- 50:42Speaker 1: She wanted to put a smile on your face. Well,
- 50:46Speaker 1: you want being settled out, I'm gonna have to say
- 50:48Speaker 1: she did. Right. Wow, Now that I know you, y'all
- 50:54Speaker 1: were joking, and now I know this is nephew Tommy,
- 51:00Speaker 1: I gotta ask you something, Baby, what's the baddest and
- 51:02Speaker 1: I mean the baddest radio show in the land. That's
- 51:05Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning. So base fees, Okay, you won't be
- 51:15Speaker 1: coming in late. You let it go a couple of
- 51:19Speaker 1: times after three or four, you need to pay calling, don't.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Nobody can't no about what you did the night before
- 51:30Speaker 1: every Sunday with her. You know what, this the last
- 51:34Speaker 1: five time calling Sea then showed up late. You're not.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Look now, it's a late fee when you come in,
- 51:43Speaker 1: and it's just another way for the church to make
- 51:45Speaker 1: money because we have things we had to pay for
- 51:48Speaker 1: church fees. Now when y'all get the church, Sherlan Carling,
- 51:52Speaker 1: what time y'all get there? I get there early, so
- 51:57Speaker 1: ain't now one of y'all walk in after prayer using worse?
- 52:01Speaker 1: I mean, you know when I was younger, but you know,
- 52:06Speaker 1: you know now it's different. You know. I like to
- 52:09Speaker 1: be on time. I just like to be on time
- 52:11Speaker 1: for the word I do. I like to be on
- 52:13Speaker 1: time for God. That's because He's on time for me.
- 52:15Speaker 1: And that's huh. I like what Shirley is saying. But
- 52:21Speaker 1: you know, get a seat, Yeah, I get a seat,
- 52:24Speaker 1: you know all of that. Absolutely. I like showing up
- 52:27Speaker 1: for for him because he shows. Let me ask you this, y'all.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Another thing about church? Why do so many people think
- 52:32Speaker 1: they got seasoned seats like they can sit there every
- 52:36Speaker 1: every Sunday? Oh? Absolutely? What is that about? We have
- 52:42Speaker 1: a section where we sit. If these people are creatures
- 52:45Speaker 1: of habit, Timmy, they like sitting where they sit where
- 52:49Speaker 1: they like to sit. I like to sit up. No seat,
- 52:53Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, guys. We gotta get out of here.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Up next, it is today's Strawberry Letters subject. There's turmoil
- 53:00Speaker 1: in my congregation and turmoil on the show about it? Right,
- 53:03Speaker 1: now we'll get into it right after this. You're listening
- 53:07Speaker 1: to all right time now for today's Strawberry Letter, and listen.
- 53:12Speaker 1: If you need advice on relationships, on dating, work, sex, parenting,
- 53:16Speaker 1: and more, please submit your Strawberry Letter to Steve Harvey
- 53:20Speaker 1: FM dot com and click submit Strawberry Letter. I gotta
- 53:24Speaker 1: say this really really quickly. You know, I was in
- 53:26Speaker 1: Atlanta over the weekend at the Alma G. Davis Foundation
- 53:30Speaker 1: tenth anniversary celebration. Why was everyone coming up to me
- 53:34Speaker 1: asking me about the letter we did last week where
- 53:37Speaker 1: the sister in law was doing her brother in law
- 53:39Speaker 1: and two kids. They were like, come on, Shirley, come
- 53:42Speaker 1: on now, come on, did you guys? Yeah? Did you
- 53:45Speaker 1: guys make that? I know so many people stop me
- 53:49Speaker 1: about that one particular letter. Well, here's another one. Okay,
- 53:54Speaker 1: here's another one. You're ready, let's go buckle up and
- 53:57Speaker 1: hold on tight. We got it for you. Here it
- 53:59Speaker 1: is subject there's turmoil in my congregation. Dear Stephen, Shirley,
- 54:06Speaker 1: Since you help everyone, I hope you can help me too.
- 54:10Speaker 1: I have been the senior pastor of my congregation for
- 54:12Speaker 1: thirteen years, and lately I've been having a problem with
- 54:16Speaker 1: an associate minister. He is forty one years old and
- 54:20Speaker 1: he is on his fourth marriage. Now. His current marriage
- 54:24Speaker 1: is in shambles because he has left his wife and
- 54:26Speaker 1: moved in with one of the older sisters of the church.
- 54:30Speaker 1: He told his wife that he was leaving her, but
- 54:32Speaker 1: none of us in the church had any idea it
- 54:34Speaker 1: would be Sister Joanne that he moved in with. Joanne
- 54:37Speaker 1: is fifty six and single, and she knows this man
- 54:41Speaker 1: is married, and she knows his wife, but they are
- 54:43Speaker 1: not close. When things hit the fan a month ago,
- 54:46Speaker 1: I offered them both counseling and advised them that what
- 54:49Speaker 1: they were doing was wrong. I told sister that she
- 54:53Speaker 1: is shacking up with a married man, and I told
- 54:55Speaker 1: him it was wrong to just leave his wife like
- 54:58Speaker 1: that and to cause her this kind of embarrassment. It
- 55:01Speaker 1: has caused such a big stir at the church that
- 55:03Speaker 1: I had to tell him that he could no longer
- 55:06Speaker 1: preach there. Sister joe Anne still comes to church like
- 55:09Speaker 1: nothing has happened, and this Sunday she stopped me after
- 55:13Speaker 1: church and told me she is very happy and they
- 55:17Speaker 1: have plans to get married as soon as he gets
- 55:19Speaker 1: out of his fourth marriage. This man can't keep a
- 55:23Speaker 1: job and he doesn't have anything to add to Joe
- 55:26Speaker 1: Anne's life. I hope and pray if they don't think
- 55:29Speaker 1: I'm going to marry them. I don't know how to
- 55:32Speaker 1: handle this type of turmoil. So I have turned to you, Steve.
- 55:35Speaker 1: What do I do? I want to put them both
- 55:38Speaker 1: out of the church. Well, that's not a bad suggestion,
- 55:42Speaker 1: Senior pastor, that is not a bad suggestion. You are
- 55:45Speaker 1: the senior pastor, which means you're the leader of the church.
- 55:47Speaker 1: You're the shepherd. You know, supposedly what you say goes.
- 55:51Speaker 1: You have a staff of ministers. You guys, can you
- 55:54Speaker 1: have one of those meetings and you can talk about
- 55:57Speaker 1: this situation because if it's causing turmoil and division in
- 56:01Speaker 1: your church, that's not a good thing. Okay. You have
- 56:04Speaker 1: a direct line to the Lord. You were called by God,
- 56:07Speaker 1: so you need to pray seriously about this situation and
- 56:11Speaker 1: ask him how you should handle it. If you don't
- 56:14Speaker 1: put them out of the church, you can certainly sit
- 56:16Speaker 1: him down and not let him preach anymore as associate minister.
- 56:20Speaker 1: And does he know the Bible? Is he reading it
- 56:23Speaker 1: at all? There's stuff in there about what he's doing.
- 56:27Speaker 1: It's in the Bible, okay, and he's in the church
- 56:30Speaker 1: and preaching to people. This is his fourth wife, No,
- 56:35Speaker 1: his fourth marriage, and he's working on number five now.
- 56:40Speaker 1: If he reads the Bible. I think one of the
- 56:43Speaker 1: scriptures says a man who doesn't work shouldn't eat. You say,
- 56:47Speaker 1: this man can't keep a job. What is he going
- 56:49Speaker 1: to offer, Sister Joanne? What is he offered his wife,
- 56:52Speaker 1: his current wife and all these other women. Yeah, you
- 56:56Speaker 1: need to sit him down. This is on you, senior pastor.
- 56:59Speaker 1: It's your church, okay. Like I said, you are the
- 57:02Speaker 1: leader of this congregation. You have to get your members
- 57:06Speaker 1: in line. Okay. Your responsibility part of it as a
- 57:11Speaker 1: pastor is to teach the Bible, okay, And this stuff
- 57:15Speaker 1: is in there. So you need to do some more studying,
- 57:17Speaker 1: I would suggest, so you can hear from the Lord
- 57:20Speaker 1: and see what he'll tell you about handling this situation.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Put them out, set them down all of those things,
- 57:26Speaker 1: pray for them, do not. I'm with you. I don't
- 57:29Speaker 1: think you should marry them at all. I hope they
- 57:31Speaker 1: don't even ask you. If they don't understand what they're
- 57:35Speaker 1: doing wrong, there's a problem. I mean, they're breaking ten commandments.
- 57:39Speaker 1: I mean, there's so much sin going on here. You know,
- 57:44Speaker 1: this is crazy, and you got to sit them down
- 57:46Speaker 1: and tell them right from wrong. Don't they know right
- 57:48Speaker 1: from wrong? Because they certainly don't act like they do.
- 57:52Speaker 1: And it's on you. Yeah, if you want to put
- 57:54Speaker 1: them both out of the church, you probably should because
- 57:58Speaker 1: they're not listening to you. They're not and it's not
- 58:01Speaker 1: coming from you. You're the vessel from the Lord. All right,
- 58:04Speaker 1: Jack put him out, the church. Put him out. The
- 58:09Speaker 1: church cut him out. The church division and turmoil. And
- 58:12Speaker 1: pastor's job is to pastor. His job it is to pastor.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Pastor means to look over, governing everybody in there. The
- 58:24Speaker 1: one phrase that I really remember in the Bible that
- 58:27Speaker 1: really stands out for me is judge, not let she
- 58:32Speaker 1: be judged. Jesus hung out with thieves, liars, murderers, backsliders.
- 58:40Speaker 1: I'm talking about the disciples. He hung out with them. People.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Who are you to judge a man that's happy with
- 58:47Speaker 1: an older Who are you you, crazy man? Who are
- 58:51Speaker 1: you to judge a man that has found some happiness
- 58:56Speaker 1: and I'm an older woman. Judge not pasta said the
- 59:01Speaker 1: man who has been married ten thousand. Open the book
- 59:06Speaker 1: and pasta, that's what you need to do, and passed.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Open the book and passed. Jay, there is such thing
- 59:17Speaker 1: as right and wrong, and you know that open. I
- 59:22Speaker 1: don't think he's I don't think he's doing that though.
- 59:25Speaker 1: I didn't think he's opening the book. I really don't.
- 59:27Speaker 1: That's what you need to do, past because they wouldn't
- 59:30Speaker 1: look and passed. They would either at least know better
- 59:33Speaker 1: if he was doing said the man who's ignorant. All right, listen,
- 59:46Speaker 1: we'll be back. We'll come back and hear from the
- 59:49Speaker 1: young one on the team, junior. We'll hear from Tommy
- 59:52Speaker 1: as well. That's coming up at twenty three after the hour,
- 59:55Speaker 1: Part two of Today's Strawberry Letter. There's turmoil in my congregation.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to this Stave Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: All right, guys, let's recap today's Strawberry Letter. This is
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: a very interesting one subject. There's turmoil in my congregation.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: This letter was written by the senior pastor. He's been
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: the senior pastor for thirteen years. Lately, he's having a
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: problem with his associate associate minister. Associate minister forty one
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: years old, has been married four times, getting ready to
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: leave his fourth wife and hook up with one of
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: the older sisters in the church. He has left his wife.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: He has moved in with this older young lady. Like
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: I said, the associate pastor forty one years old, he's
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: moving in with Sister Joanne, who's fifty six and single.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Sister Joanne knows his wife. They are not close. Senior
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: pastor in the meantime has told them both, advise them
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: that what they're doing is wrong. Shacking up with a man,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: she told Sister Joanne is not what she should be doing.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: This man can't keep a steady job, he has no
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: plans to help you during the marriage, and what are
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: you marrying him for? And Sister joe Anne, she's saying,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: it's just clueless. She's just told her that she's so
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: happy and she can't wait till he gets out of
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: his fourth marriage so he can marry her. And pretty
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: much that's where we are. And the senior pastor says
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: he or she doesn't know how to handle this, and
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: she wants to put both of them out of the church.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I said, yeah, go ahead and put both of them
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: out of the church, or at least sit both of
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: them down. And Jay said, judge not and now and
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: the senior pastor is a leader and the shepherd of
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: the church. So I mean, you know, instruction comes from
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: God and he passes out on to the congregation. They're
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: not listening to him. I'm with Jim past but he
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: is an opportunity to grow our congregation. See he's missing
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: in an opportunity. I know it's term more, but there's
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: opportunity internal. See what you need to open that book
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: and pass and your sermons should be about them too,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: because everybody in that note And so I came up
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: with some sermon, titler, you can speak on uh huh
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: such ass shocking up and stepping out. This this this
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: sermon in his day is shocking up and stepping out.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Oh this one might work too. Uh this morning, I
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: want to come to y'all. We're talking about uh, cheating
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: in the next few Yeah yeah, chat in the next pew.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Uh how about this? Uh, my man, your husan, this
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: is some sermon tyler. He can use help. I like
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: this with two Jezebels, stay close, we got some sermon.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: He got another with two ohay, if you're thinking lonely night,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: wait until tonight tonight. Yeah, preach on it. Here's another one.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: You got too up, solom and go mora in your home.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: And the last sermon, I think he could probably preach
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: on that a properly effective grown this compregation another's woman trash.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: He's another woman's trash. Come on, if loving you a wrong,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I think he's just looking at it wrong. Yeah, looking
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: at talk about the term one in your comregation. I
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: agree with you, guys. I definitely think it's the pastor
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: because he's a leader. All right, come on, nephew, with
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: another sermon. Excuse me about wood. This is dicking dep
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: cham in the building. Yea pastor, you are dealing with

- 1:09:20Speaker 1: right after this. Yeah, you're listening to the Steven Show.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: A new survey finds at Los Angeles is the most
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: stressed city in the US. Is anybody surprised by that
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: any more? Not at all? Uh? Yeah, it's the most
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: stressed city in the US, with seventy six percent of
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: residents say they are at least somewhat stressed each day,
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: only six percent saying they have no stress at all.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: Why do you think do you think the traffic, Yeah, definitely,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: the traffic, the housing, the cost of housing, cost of living, yeah, yes,
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: and the transit system is it's horrible. Yeah, you never know.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: I don't know how LA stressed. The whole dog gonna
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: city spelled like a bag of week. Maybe that's why,
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Maybe that is why it's illegal here. Yeah, because it's
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: traffic in LA. No matter when you go out there,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: it's traffic. So yeah, it's crazystem Yeah, Well they're building one.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: They're they're building it now, they're in the process. Uh.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Those in LA are so stressed out. They are the
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: most likely out of the entire country to say their
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: city is the hardest to live in, coming in just
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: behind Los Angeles and stress levels. Yeah, New York. Yeah,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I thought New York would be number one, where seventy
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: two percent of people say they deal with stress each day.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: It's followed by Chicago. Uh, it's followed sixty five percent,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: then Miami sixty four percent, then Dallas forty eight, San
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Francisco forty four. So, uh, you know, we could There's
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: so many reasons. I guess why LA is so stressed.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: The next said the rent here man. Yeah, the crust
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: of living. It's so ridiculous, it is. Yeah, and there's
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: gentrification going on everywhere in Los Angeles, everywhere in Los Angeles.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: So can I just say something. When that little white
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: girl with a ponytail go buy your house, your taxes
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: is going up. Okay, job When she jobbed past your
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: house in the morning, your taxes is going up. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Well I wish she would go jogging in the park
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: where I go, so they could come and do something
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: about those go first. Oh my god, they stick their
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: little heads up out of the ground. You always got
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: rodents are coming at you. What is that about. They're
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: not coming at me, They're just in the ground and
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: they stick their heads up out of the ground and
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: it's scary. I don't like it. Out a squirrel take
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: you one day? Oh yeah, when I was coming out
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: of the nail salon. Yeah, yeah, that was scary. I
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: don't even want to Oh God. Anyway, Yeah, welcome to law. Yeah,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: you're not living in New York because I lived in
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: New York. I love living there. Yeah, did you live
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: in New York a wild No, I've been in New
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: York a lot, just you know, to go. Yeah, worked
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: out in New York and it's just nice. Man. You know,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: I love living in New York. I love I lived
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: in Jersey and worked in the city. And you really
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: don't need a car in New York. You just because
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Chicago there, you don't need car. You don't need a car.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: And New York does not sleep. Man, there's something Well,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Chicago has a great transit system. That was my point. Yeah,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: great transit system. But it is expensive to live in
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: la it is. That's breaking the law to New York.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Don't give it in. They're stealing from you, from me. Yeah,
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: you know what y'all got to do one day, y'all
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: gotta come kick it with me at my apartment in Hollywood.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: I mean, but it needs to be like Leavit man nice.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: You need to the street changes Eddie left, It's different.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Oh hey, don't I want John Hollyway. Ain't been back
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: down the time because me and Mickey Mouse got into it.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: I've not been back down now because Mickey wants to
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: fight about this five dollar picture on my phone. That's
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: why the city strap. Another thing that makes it stress
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: the gas and then everything spread out. So you gotta
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: buy gass offense. When I buy gass, I immediately going
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: there still something I don't care. I'd have walked out
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: of the wall, got chocolate one time. I got a
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: pin out of there one time. I took some paper
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: out of that one up. I'm talking about out the
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: receipt holding. So it's not working. I know it's not.

- 1:14:08Speaker 1: twenty after you're listening to the Steven Show. All Right,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: we told you about how the Beehive went into attack
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: mode after Beyonce served epic side to Golden State Warrior
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: owner's wife Nicole Curran last week. Now bees publicist is
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: speaking out. Vette Nicole Shore posted a picture of Beyonce
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: and jay Z from last year's On the Run tour
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: and called on the bee Hive to show the same
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: kind of love to others that they show to each other.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: I know your love runs deep, but that love has
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: to be given to every human, Evette captioned the photo.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: It will bring no joy to the person you love
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: so much if you you hate in her name, I
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: have to agree with her on that. Yeah, if they
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: do her too, yeah care. Yeah, they told that woman
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: to kill herself and all that that was. That was
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: too much. She think they went to that. That was
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: really mean. I thought it was too Yeah. We got
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: you love Beyonce. We all love Beyonce, but we love
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: and that's how people get hurt too, man. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: and you don't know what Beyonce was thinking. You don't know.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: I mean you saw the looks, but you don't know.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: She didn't say anything, so it looked like you were happy. No,
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: she did not still to tell the woman to kill herself.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: Come on, man, yeah yeah, yeah, ant she spoke up
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: the owner's wife. She spoke up for herself. Yeah she did.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I got a man, and right I'm married. And she said,
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: I don't even think Beyonce would like you guys saying this. Yeah,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: And do you think should tell be have to pull up? Yes?
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I do, I do think that. Yeah. Yeah, all right,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show and Trending News
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: coming up at thirty three after the hour. Right after this,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Junior, you
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: are here. Oh my gosh, we still got some low basketball.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: It's so low basketball. One o six to one, oh five,
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Golden State Warrior pulled it off. Oh my god. I
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: feel for Toronto. They were right there. When you got
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: a team like Golden State down three to one, you're
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: supposed to go on on finish deal and you at home,
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: you're supposed to finish the finish that. Okay, so you
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: watched the game last night, Yeah, so what happened? I mean,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: I agree with Tommy Toronto. They're supposed to close. It
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: was you know, Clay Thompson hit a big shot with
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: fifty six seconds left in the game and that gave
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: them one o six, one h three lead. And I'm
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: telling that was big. But then it was some de
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: markets because we had the game and you five, you
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: had an illegal pick that gave the ball back to Toronto.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: But then they threw the ball away right after that.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: So now that's two turnovers under a minute. You can't
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: have that, Canada. And where do you And did you
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: see Monica Singey singer Maskah, Yeah, she did the national
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: anthem and listening. Oh, because because she's going no, look, Junior,
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: let her get through where she's going through. Hey, he's
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: talking about three two already. The paper, the ink on
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: the papers aren't even dry yet. The oldest put in
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: That's what you need to understand. The oldest is so
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: when you come out, there's somebody outsat I will be
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: out at the court of what they say. So what
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: you think now, Tommy Game six Oakland, Julie, I'm still
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: I'm still pulling for Toronto. I'm still man, I still
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: think they're gonna pull it off. They have won they
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: won what two games in um in Golden States. So
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: it's doable. It's doable. Yeah, you know, an old pen.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: What you saying? How are y'all going against your own
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: country because we're Rockets fans and Golden State always be
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: thank you beat the Rockets, so we cheer. We cheer
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: for Toronto, the East, whoever the East, anybody. It could
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: have been Philadelphia, we don't care. Waukee, we didn't care. No, No,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: we're gonna I think it's I think it's gonna go
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: seven games, though, I really do at this point. I
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: don't think Kevin Durant coming back. No, he's he gave
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: it a good shot though. No, what you saw last
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: night was Kevin Durant's last game. As as a ward,
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: he gone New York, New York. My husband said, probably
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: go to New York, which is which is really good
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: for him. Coming up, our last break of the day
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: and some closing remarks that Steve left us with. You're listening,
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: all right, Steve, here we go, last break of the day. Um,
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: some parting words for with your closing remarks? Please all right,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: I guess without thinking about this much, I want to
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: talk to you about life, how fragile it is, and
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: I want to have something to say about you know what,
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I'm really not gonna get into the whole situation because,
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: like I just be honest with you, there are times,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: there are actually times when I'm actually sick and tired
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: of talking about it. I am exhausted with the fact
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: that the color of my skin has to come into
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: play in my everyday life, my just day to day.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: I don't know, I really can't think of any days
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: realistically why I do not have to consider the color
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: of my skin, the shape of my nose and my
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: lips wherever I go. The situation I'm in, I very
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: rarely can think of a day that I'm not made
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: aware of it or I have to factor it in.
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: If you're not a person of color or minority, you
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: may not even be able to understand what I'm saying.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: But I'll just give you an example. When riding in
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: the car and being stopped by the police, as me
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: and my buddy Greg Calhoun was doing last year after
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: golf out in coming from Montgomery to Alabama and his
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: car and we were speeding and we were supposed to
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: get pulled over. We were speeding, But what I had
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: to do was immediately become aware that I am a
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: black man. Skip your money in your fame. I don't
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: have time to throw that out at you. I got
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: to get and start preparing myself. As the officer approaches
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: the car, I must understand without him getting my ID.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: I'm a black man, just a black man. So I
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: put my hands up on the dashboard and the officer
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: came to the passenger side and said, why is your
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: hands on the dashboard? I said, because I don't want
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: nothing to happen to me. The officer said, while that's
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: acting mighty suspicious. I said, no, it's not. I'm just
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: being safe. Officer. If you don't mind, she said, well,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: I'll need to see ID. I said, my ID happens
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: to be in a pouch in the back seat. I
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: would have to reach. She said, we'll go ahead, and
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I was tense because I didn't want to be mistaken.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: When I'm on an elevator and I get on, I
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: am conscious of the fact that me and my guy
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: are the only one on the elevator. When I go
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: to golf courses and I oftentimes see that there are
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: hardly any African Americans out here. It's just me and
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: one or maybe the fours something that I'm playing with,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: and I'm just always aware of it. If you're not that,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: you don't have to be aware of it. But it's
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: the awareness that becomes draining at times. It's the fact
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: that you got to be the only one on your floor,
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: the only one on the elevator, the only one in
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: the cubicle, the only one in your department, the only
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: one at the meeting, the only one in the cafeteria,
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: the only one on the trip, the only one, the
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: only one at the hotel, at the front desk, the
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: only one, the only one, the only one's kids that's
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: in the recital, the only one's kids that's at the
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: that's on the soccer team, the only one, the only one,
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: the only one, the only one. Gets to be exhausting
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: at times. This will not change and to more people
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: who are not of color can try to empathize or
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: sympathize or generalize or something with us to say, you
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: know what, I don't know how that feels, but I
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: bet that ain't right because, as I've often said many times,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: slavery didn't end just because black people got sick of
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: being slaves. We were sick of it, the thought of it.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: When they put us on them boats. Nobody wanted to
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: ride the boat over here and come be no slaves.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Nobody was under the belly of them slave ships, going, man,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: this is nice. This's gonna be a new opportunity nobody.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: So I want to wake up and just see what
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: it feels like to just go about my day without
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: having to calculate my race, without to have to calculate
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: the color of my skin, to watch other people get
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: paid a certain amount of money, and then you don't
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: get paid a certain amount of money with the same
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: type of ratings, and then you got to incorporate something
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: else again. Now, I've been very blessed with the life
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: that I have, and I would not trade mind for anything,
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: with all this sick and tide of being sick and tied. Also,
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: what makes this also tolerable for me is my love
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: of who I am, my love of our power to overcome,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: our power to maintain in the struggle, our power to
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: still be something where we were brought here to simply
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: be nothing. So for us to have accomplished what we've accomplished,
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: I'm grateful and awful proud of that. So I guess
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: my pride just keeps me going on. I hope that
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: God will continue to let whatever light that I can
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: let shine through my existence to inspire someone else to
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: overcome when it looked like you ain't gonna make it,
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: because that's exactly what I've done, by the grace of God.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: I have overcome against all the odds, even when they
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: said I wasn't gonna make it. And even though I'm
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: tired of being tired, I wouldn't trade places and be
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: nothing else, know how, because in this struggle has taught
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: me so many items of strength. I've learned so much
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: about myself. My soul is strong, My spirit is strong.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: I thank God for that soul. Y'all have a great
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: weekend for all. Steve Harvey Contests No purchase necessary, void
