- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, I'm sure some people go, you know, Melan needed
- 0:02Speaker 1: to go somewhere and sit down. Now she's singing, Come
- 0:04Speaker 1: on now. That's why it was important that people need
- 0:07Speaker 1: to hear that this is not something you thought of
- 0:09Speaker 1: last week. This is part of your d N, a
- 0:11Speaker 1: part of your life. You support your husband, and y'all
- 0:14Speaker 1: were still doing things together, but still not the things
- 0:18Speaker 1: that you could do. So right now in your life,
- 0:20Speaker 1: am I saying it correctly? You're now doing the things
- 0:23Speaker 1: that you want to do and can do and should do.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Correct Absolutely absolutely. And it's funny that you get those
- 0:31Speaker 1: different ages range just because I'm thirty six and so
- 0:34Speaker 1: you know, I still have a few more years to
- 0:36Speaker 1: go before I hit forty. But I'm closer to forty
- 0:38Speaker 1: than I am eighteen or thirty, that's for sure. Um.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And you know, many of us have many talents. You know,
- 0:46Speaker 1: we have a story in the Bible where it talks
- 0:48Speaker 1: about where people were giving different talents, right, and so
- 0:52Speaker 1: even sometimes when you know, I've gone on social media
- 0:56Speaker 1: and I've been playing the keyboard while I'm singing, and
- 0:58Speaker 1: people are like, oh my gosh, i'd know she knew
- 1:00Speaker 1: how to play, you know, Um, we all have talents,
- 1:04Speaker 1: and I feel like in due time and in due season,
- 1:08Speaker 1: you know, those things show their head again and they show, hey,
- 1:12Speaker 1: look this is here. This was instilled in you. This
- 1:15Speaker 1: is a gift that was God given. And so me
- 1:18Speaker 1: walking in my purpose and walking in that and being
- 1:21Speaker 1: you know, using that, you know to help other people,
- 1:24Speaker 1: specifically women who can relate to my music. You know,
- 1:28Speaker 1: for me, that's exactly where I'm supposed to be now
- 1:32Speaker 1: now when you talk about your music, because the beauty
- 1:34Speaker 1: of when I say that, we're beauty, because you're a
- 1:36Speaker 1: beautiful person, and sometimes people will use that against you,
- 1:41Speaker 1: you know, and say that you know, oh, she's just
- 1:44Speaker 1: getting that because she's attractive. Of she's just getting that.
- 1:47Speaker 1: My whole thing is that I have six sisters, So
- 1:49Speaker 1: I get really sensitive when people start getting into that
- 1:52Speaker 1: that that the gender bending about this is why they
- 1:55Speaker 1: are successful. I love the fact that I've seen you
- 1:59Speaker 1: grow and I to be in a relationship to the
- 2:01Speaker 1: next twenty years so I can see hopefully the the
- 2:04Speaker 1: next end game. Because I do feel that when I
- 2:07Speaker 1: said the word eighteen and forty, what she's doing everybody
- 2:10Speaker 1: is that a lot of time when people have not
- 2:13Speaker 1: accomplished their dreams or not living their dreams. When they
- 2:15Speaker 1: get the forty, they feel depressed. They feel that they
- 2:18Speaker 1: feel that they can't do anything other than what they're
- 2:20Speaker 1: doing at that time. At forty, they feel that there's
- 2:23Speaker 1: no future. She said the word thirty six. She's four
- 2:26Speaker 1: away from forty. But guess what she's not doing what
- 2:28Speaker 1: she wants to do in her life and can do.
- 2:30Speaker 1: That's important. And I really I want to use this
- 2:33Speaker 1: episode of interviewing you as a motivating factor, not only
- 2:36Speaker 1: for your fans, because a lot of people who will
- 2:39Speaker 1: be hearing this interview Melody Shari for the first time,
- 2:41Speaker 1: let's right, Shari for the first time, will understand she's
- 2:44Speaker 1: an independent thinker and you are a brand now officially
- 2:47Speaker 1: called Melody Shari. Correct. Absolutely yes, and you know, speaking
- 2:52Speaker 1: of that, you know, I spent many years where of
- 2:55Speaker 1: course when I was married, building a brand as this
- 2:57Speaker 1: power couple, power duo in business together and so now
- 3:02Speaker 1: me having to rebrand myself solo and then of course
- 3:06Speaker 1: after being divorced, going from Melody Hole to Melody Chari
- 3:10Speaker 1: and um, I will tell anyone that hard work is
- 3:14Speaker 1: definitely where it's at. Um. You know, you have to
- 3:17Speaker 1: have a strong work ethic with anything that you do.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I literally had a conversation UM yesterday and I told them, yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 1: I actually did my song on Sunday. I went in
- 3:28Speaker 1: the studio, recorded my song Sunday, did the cover shoot
- 3:31Speaker 1: on Tuesday, dropped it on Saturday. And they said, WHOA,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you did all that in a week. I said absolutely,
- 3:37Speaker 1: And I went and recorded my other song on that
- 3:40Speaker 1: Wednesday and they were like, wow. UM, to say my
- 3:44Speaker 1: work ethic is unmatched, UM, that would be an understatement.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I I don't look or respect anything to be handed
- 3:50Speaker 1: or given to me. UM. But I believe in working hard.
- 3:54Speaker 1: And my my mindset is as long as I'm moving,
- 3:58Speaker 1: God will meet me where I need to be. Meant
- 4:00Speaker 1: to make sure I get to where I'm trying to go.
- 4:02Speaker 1: So I wake up early three or four o'clock in
- 4:05Speaker 1: the morning, I'm the h there you go. That's me
- 4:09Speaker 1: four thirty every day Friday, for the weekends. Absolutely even
- 4:13Speaker 1: for me, even all the weekends. And I utilize every minute,
- 4:16Speaker 1: every second of the day. UM. To make sure that
- 4:20Speaker 1: I don't feel like something didn't get handled because I
- 4:23Speaker 1: decided to, you know, not put my all into the day,
- 4:28Speaker 1: and so you have to be willing to make those
- 4:30Speaker 1: sacrifices you have to. But that comes from it being
- 4:34Speaker 1: in your heart. When something in your heart and um,
- 4:37Speaker 1: it means a lot to you, you're gonna put in
- 4:40Speaker 1: the work, you know, when you're passionate about it, you're
- 4:42Speaker 1: gonna put in the world. Well, you know, I'm gonna
- 4:44Speaker 1: back up a little bit here your journey and the
- 4:47Speaker 1: journey watching you become who you are today, and believe me,
- 4:50Speaker 1: there is a even brighter future for her. I don't
- 4:52Speaker 1: want to limit like this is her. She's gonna drop
- 4:55Speaker 1: a single, drop another single. Herd entrepreneurship and her give
- 4:58Speaker 1: back has always been strong. In fact, you've seen it
- 5:00Speaker 1: and some of the episodes of Love and Marriage Holly
- 5:04Speaker 1: Huntsville when she was starting her own podcast type set
- 5:07Speaker 1: up and trying to get her voice out there and
- 5:09Speaker 1: trying to tell everybody her story. And that started with
- 5:11Speaker 1: the masterclasses. And I remember you to Rashan, I'm gonna
- 5:14Speaker 1: start these masterclasses and you start rolling it out on
- 5:17Speaker 1: your Instagram account. Why was there that? I think that
- 5:20Speaker 1: was the first foray until you really starting establishing your brand.
- 5:25Speaker 1: And then we're gonna talk about the makeup line. But
- 5:26Speaker 1: that was the first part of stepping out of the
- 5:29Speaker 1: entrepreneurs and out of the entrepreneurship lane as yourself and
- 5:33Speaker 1: sharing your knowledge with other people, especially women correct well, yes,
- 5:38Speaker 1: especially women. You know, I've had UM a situation where
- 5:42Speaker 1: I'd actually been heavily a part of UM a friend
- 5:46Speaker 1: getting into the industry called property preservation, and so it
- 5:49Speaker 1: was successful, and um, you know, there was something to
- 5:52Speaker 1: me that says, you know what, if I can do
- 5:53Speaker 1: it once, I can do it again. And you know,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I had this idea of taking the time to teach
- 6:00Speaker 1: others how to get into into this white male dominated
- 6:03Speaker 1: industry and showing them the way. It's a multibillion dollar industry,
- 6:07Speaker 1: so showing them the way, showing them how they could
- 6:10Speaker 1: get another level of financial freedom and build wealth. And
- 6:13Speaker 1: so I launched my first class in junior. To date,
- 6:17Speaker 1: I've had over four hundred students who have gone through
- 6:19Speaker 1: my course, UM, mostly African American females. I've had people
- 6:24Speaker 1: who've been able to resign from their nine to fives.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I've had people who are already teaching their sons and
- 6:30Speaker 1: their nephews about the industry to build that generational wealth
- 6:34Speaker 1: and that family business. And so it's been great for
- 6:37Speaker 1: me and fulfilling for me to be quite honest um,
- 6:40Speaker 1: to have my master class where I am able to
- 6:43Speaker 1: pour into others and teach them the game. That honestly
- 6:46Speaker 1: helped me to resign, to be able to resign from
- 6:49Speaker 1: teaching in April of eleven
