  I'm thinking of a verse today, 1 Samuel 23, 23.

  That's 1 Samuel 23, 23.

  This is in the middle of the long section where Saul,

  who is the former king of Israel, is hunting David,

  who is to be the new king of Israel.

  Saul is still on the throne, even though David

  has been a noated king, and Saul is hunting him down,

  wanting to destroy him.

  In 23, 23, it says this.

  So look and learn about all the hiding places where he hides himself,
• 0:31
  and return to me with certainty, and I will go with you,
• 0:35
  and if he is in the land, I will search him out
• 0:39
  among all the thousands of Judah.

  So Saul is saying, basically, nothing will stop him
• 0:47
  from destroying David.

  What's kind of encouraging about this verse is that in the long run,

  David is not destroyed, and Saul is destroyed, because God simply will not allow it.

  This verse reminds me that we too have an enemy,

  someone who claims to be king over this present life,

  but he is not king, and he may be our enemy,

  but he will not be victorious, because God has already anointed us

  for those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

  We are indwells with the Holy Spirit God,

  and he will hide us, and he will strengthen us,

  and he will carry us, and praise God,

  that enemy king who is coming for us, and will hunt us down throughout the land,

  will not have victory.

  We will stand firm in Christ.

  We will be successful, and we will win,

  now and in the end.

  Praise God, who is the real king.
