- 0:18Speaker 1: over the years twenty five thirty years ago it started
- 0:20Speaker 1: where they were charging us much more. I put it
- 0:23Speaker 1: into it, you know, with a letter that you saw

- 3:29Speaker 3: Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 3:33Speaker 3: All right, we got some big news to start off with,
- 3:35Speaker 3: and that is this the US Office of Special Council
- 3:39Speaker 3: investigating the ex Trump prosecutor Jack Smith is now happening
- 3:45Speaker 3: is what we're being told. The US Office of Special
- 3:47Speaker 3: Council has open an investigation officially into the former Special
- 3:53Speaker 3: Council Jack Smith, who may have quote unlawfully targeted President
- 3:59Speaker 3: Donald Trump. I want you to listen to how part
- 4:01Speaker 3: of this news is broken at Fox News Channel.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Take a listen, all right, Moving on to this now,
- 4:06Speaker 5: former COUMP prosecutor Jack Smith is now under investigation for
- 4:10Speaker 5: potentially violating the Hatch Act, which restricts government employees from
- 4:14Speaker 5: engaging in political activities.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Charley Panner joins US Now with the details.
- 4:19Speaker 6: Hey Channeling, Hey, good morning guys. So the Office of
- 4:21Speaker 6: Special Council confirming is open that investigation against former Special
- 4:25Speaker 6: Council Jack Smith. This after Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton sent
- 4:29Speaker 6: this letter saying, quote, I write requesting the Office of
- 4:32Speaker 6: Special Counsel to investigate whether Jack Smith, special Council for
- 4:36Speaker 6: Attorney General Merrick Garland, unlawfully took political actions to influence
- 4:40Speaker 6: the twenty twenty four election to harm then candidate President
- 4:44Speaker 6: Donald Trump. So, while the specific scope of this investigation
- 4:47Speaker 6: is not clear, it is expected the probe we'll look
- 4:50Speaker 6: into whether Smith violated the Hatch Act during his criminal
- 4:53Speaker 6: investigation into President Trump's handling of classified documents and alleged
- 4:59Speaker 6: efforts to the twenty twenty election. Trump cleted not guilty
- 5:02Speaker 6: in both of those cases that were ultimately dismissed following
- 5:05Speaker 6: the twenty twenty four election. Earlier this week, Senator Cotton
- 5:08Speaker 6: pointed to how he believed Smith used his DOJ roll
- 5:12Speaker 6: to quote help Kamala and hurt Trump, claiming Special Counsel
- 5:15Speaker 6: Smith rushed the trial for President Trump to begin just
- 5:19Speaker 6: two weeks before the Iowa caucuses, that Smith tried to
- 5:22Speaker 6: go right to the Supreme Court to get a quick
- 5:24Speaker 6: ruling before the election, and that Smith filed a massive
- 5:28Speaker 6: brief that included secret grand jury testimony just within sixty
- 5:32Speaker 6: days of the election, which could also violate a separate
- 5:35Speaker 6: Justice Department rule that goes beyond the Hatch Act. So
- 5:37Speaker 6: it's all important to note that this is an investigation,
- 5:40Speaker 6: but it's not a criminal investigation. That the office there
- 5:43Speaker 6: does have authority though, to impose things like fines and
- 5:45Speaker 6: other sanctions if they do ultimately find that he violated
- 5:49Speaker 6: the Hatch Act.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Guys, let's go into even more of what this means.
- 5:52Speaker 3: The OSC has Smith under a microscope and this I've
- 5:57Speaker 3: been told by many on Capitol Hill is the beginning
- 6:01Speaker 3: of what could be other possible issues for him. I
- 6:05Speaker 3: want to be clear about that he's under the microscope
- 6:08Speaker 3: regarding the possibility that not only won, he violate the
- 6:11Speaker 3: Hatch Act, which says again government workers are not allowed
- 6:14Speaker 3: to take part in certain political activities. All right, now,
- 6:18Speaker 3: it received confirmation the probe Fox did there from the
- 6:21Speaker 3: office and that Smith is not being quote criminally investigated.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Now, let's be clear.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I want you to understand this could be the beginning
- 6:30Speaker 3: of opening up.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Who knows what you can read between the lines there.
- 6:34Speaker 3: The OSC is a government watchdog that operates independently. Number
- 6:38Speaker 3: one is a federal investigative and prosecutal office. In July,
- 6:43Speaker 3: Tom Cotton asked its members to investigate whether Jack Smith,
- 6:47Speaker 3: who again was a special counsel for the former Attorney
- 6:49Speaker 3: General Merrick Garland, if he engaged in unlawful political activities
- 6:54Speaker 3: to quote influence All right, think about the timeline here
- 6:58Speaker 3: the twenty twenty four presidential election, and targeted Trump in
- 7:02Speaker 3: doing so to influence the twenty twenty four election. Now,
- 7:07Speaker 3: President Trump, of course said you know this about Joe Biden,
- 7:11Speaker 3: and Jack Smith and every Democrat quote who weaponized law
- 7:14Speaker 3: against him. President Trump's astounding victory doesn't excuse Smith of responsibility,
- 7:19Speaker 3: the Center said, for his unlawful election interference. I therefore
- 7:24Speaker 3: asked the Office of the Special Counsel to investigate whether
- 7:27Speaker 3: Jack Smith or quote any members of his team unlawfully
- 7:31Speaker 3: acted for political purposes. So Number one, is it going
- 7:35Speaker 3: to be difficult for the media to cover this, Yes,
- 7:38Speaker 3: And that's why we're covering it right now, because you
- 7:40Speaker 3: need to know what's happening. Democrats are going to dismiss this.
- 7:43Speaker 3: They're going to say this is not a big deal.
- 7:45Speaker 3: They're going to say this is nothing, that this is
- 7:48Speaker 3: just a political hit job on Jack Smith, who quote
- 7:51Speaker 3: did his job. Now, Jack Smith oversaw a pair, okay,
- 7:55Speaker 3: not one, but two of the criminal investigations into Donald
- 7:59Speaker 3: Trump while the former president Joe Biden was still in office.
- 8:02Speaker 4: All right.
- 8:03Speaker 3: The outlet of the New York Times excuse me, the
- 8:05Speaker 3: New York Post reporting this on Friday. They said, one
- 8:08Speaker 3: of the investigations, as you may recall, was quote into
- 8:11Speaker 3: trump handling of classified documents. Then the other was as
- 8:15Speaker 3: to whether his actions on January the sixth, twenty twenty
- 8:17Speaker 3: one were an attempt to overturn the twenty twenty election.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Both cases, as you know, have been dismissed.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Now.
- 8:24Speaker 3: An email that has come forward reviewed by the New
- 8:27Speaker 3: York Posts also states that the Hatch Act Unit, which
- 8:30Speaker 3: enforces a law restricting government employees from engaging in political activities,
- 8:35Speaker 3: has begun reviewing the former Special Council for the United
- 8:38Speaker 3: States Department of Justice. Now, the email was written by
- 8:41Speaker 3: senior counsel at the OSC. The article states, Now let's
- 8:45Speaker 3: go back to Smith for a second. Smith, you may
- 8:48Speaker 3: have forgotten, resigned from the US Department of Justice after
- 8:52Speaker 3: he failed to bring the case against Trump to trial,
- 8:54Speaker 3: because well, he knew it was going to get dismissed,
- 8:56Speaker 3: and he knew it was crap, and they lost, and
- 8:58Speaker 3: so he wanted out. The article also says Smith's resignation
- 9:01Speaker 3: comes as his office has engaged quote in last minute
- 9:05Speaker 3: legal wranglings to release its work against Trump before President
- 9:08Speaker 3: Joe Biden left office. If you go back and look
- 9:10Speaker 3: at the record, then he resigned on a Saturday, just
- 9:13Speaker 3: nine days before Trump's inauguration, after which Smith would have
- 9:17Speaker 3: been fired.
- 9:18Speaker 4: We're all sure of that now.
- 9:20Speaker 3: The following month, Trump suspended the security clearances of law
- 9:25Speaker 3: firm members who helped Jack Smith, and that was something
- 9:28Speaker 3: that people are like, Okay, pay attention.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Now.
- 9:30Speaker 3: The memo, by the way, addressed to all relevant agencies
- 9:34Speaker 3: and departments, halted any security clearances of Covington and Berling.
- 9:38Speaker 4: That's a law firm.
- 9:39Speaker 3: It's members, partners, and employees who helped Jack Smith during
- 9:42Speaker 3: his time in the role of Special Council quote penning
- 9:45Speaker 3: a review and determination of their roles and responsibilities if any,
- 9:49Speaker 3: in the weaponization of the judicial process, per that memo.
- 9:53Speaker 3: So let me be clear the takeaway from this this
- 9:56Speaker 3: could be the beginning of something very, very big, and
- 9:59Speaker 3: it's going to start with the man who went after
- 10:02Speaker 3: and weaponized our government against Donald Trump, Jack Smith. So
- 10:06Speaker 3: get ready, we're going to keep covering this. It's very big.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Now, Story number two.
- 10:11Speaker 4: All right, I want to get to another important issue.
- 10:14Speaker 3: It's a big one and it's one that so many
- 10:18Speaker 3: Americans have, especially the media, have really really really overlooked
- 10:24Speaker 3: it completely. That's part of what I like to do
- 10:27Speaker 3: here is bring you different information that others are refusing
- 10:31Speaker 3: to cover. And this one is one that is really
- 10:35Speaker 3: interesting because the number of arrests of migrant gotaways continuing
- 10:40Speaker 3: now in Texas despite record low apprehensions at the border.
- 10:45Speaker 3: The media doesn't want you to know how many bad
- 10:48Speaker 3: own brais we have right now in this country. The
- 10:50Speaker 3: Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, the National guardsmen, and
- 10:54Speaker 3: the Border patrol agents are continuing to arrest migrants who
- 10:57Speaker 3: illegally cross the border between the portsvin and made their
- 11:01Speaker 3: way into the US interior. The Trump administration has just
- 11:04Speaker 3: released more info. Recent arrests include three Chinese nationals who
- 11:09Speaker 3: got away from the border after crossing near Mission, Texas.
- 11:13Speaker 3: What we now know is that this was an operation
- 11:16Speaker 3: that Texas DPS did. They post the video to social
- 11:19Speaker 3: media showing the continuing activities of the troopers, the garment
- 11:23Speaker 3: and Border patrol agents, who despite these record low apprehensions
- 11:27Speaker 3: of the border said now their job is to fine
- 11:29Speaker 3: migrants being smuggled into the interior Texas after not being
- 11:33Speaker 3: apprehended at the border. Law enforcement teams, they say are
- 11:36Speaker 3: real problems, are facing real problems because they're going after
- 11:41Speaker 3: and continuencize drugs that are being smuggled into Texas. You
- 11:45Speaker 3: have human smuggling arrests that are still happening each and
- 11:48Speaker 3: every day. You have canine teams now that are actually
- 11:51Speaker 3: being able to do their raw jobs by tracking and
- 11:54Speaker 3: assisting US Port Patrol in the tracking of these drugs.
- 11:58Speaker 3: We're seeing drug seizures, they said, in Brownsville, Texas, stolen
- 12:02Speaker 3: vehicles that are being used by the cartels, and others
- 12:04Speaker 3: that are that are grabbed in Laredo, Texas for example.
- 12:09Speaker 4: This is just some of what is happening at the border.
- 12:12Speaker 3: We also know this past week that smugglers were sentenced
- 12:15Speaker 3: to ten years in prison. You've got pursuits to ranch
- 12:19Speaker 3: tracks to all these missions that are happening, and they're
- 12:22Speaker 3: wanting people to understand what's going on here now. One
- 12:25Speaker 3: example that was reported was on July the thirty first.
- 12:29Speaker 3: One of the videos they put out show Border Patrol
- 12:31Speaker 3: mounted patroled teams tracking migrants in Duval County, Texas. The
- 12:35Speaker 3: team tracked the illegal alien to attempt to escape by
- 12:37Speaker 3: using thick brushes cover. That's where the Texas DPSK nine
- 12:41Speaker 3: team managed to apprehend the two legal aliens and turn
- 12:44Speaker 3: them over to Border Patrol agents. Now, they weren't able
- 12:46Speaker 3: to do this type of work before because they were
- 12:49Speaker 3: babysitting illegal immigrants at the border under the Biden administration.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Earlier on Thursday, for example, they report the arrests of
- 12:56Speaker 3: these three Chinese nationals that were apprehended your mission Texas
- 12:59Speaker 3: after clear the border without encountering a border patrol agent.
- 13:02Speaker 3: And this is part of the problem. Now the troopers say,
- 13:05Speaker 3: we're getting to do our jobs. Now they were to
- 13:07Speaker 3: stop the human smuggling attempts. Last week also in de
- 13:10Speaker 3: Mitt County, Texas, they pulled over a Florida driver. The
- 13:13Speaker 3: troopers fround two Mexican nationals illegally president in the US,
- 13:17Speaker 3: hiding in the rear cargo area of the suv. Again,
- 13:20Speaker 3: another example of the bad owm brays that we're talking about.
- 13:22Speaker 3: On July third, for example, it was reported the arrest
- 13:25Speaker 3: of ten illegal aliens in their mission. These included four
- 13:29Speaker 3: migrants from Uzbekistan. Now why does that matter, Well, it's
- 13:32Speaker 3: a hotbed for terrorism. That's one of the big concerns
- 13:35Speaker 3: here is that how many people have come in this
- 13:37Speaker 3: country illegally that are terrorists and wanting to do things
- 13:41Speaker 3: and do real harm inside the United States of America.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Now in June, to put this in perspective of where
- 13:47Speaker 3: we are now because of a strong border security from
- 13:50Speaker 3: this president Donald Trump. Border patrol agents apprehended three thousand,
- 13:55Speaker 3: nine hundred and ninety five migrants who illegally crossed the
- 13:58Speaker 3: border into five I have Texas based sectors. Let me
- 14:02Speaker 3: just explain to you the difference between June of this
- 14:05Speaker 3: year and June of twenty twenty four, when Joe Biden
- 14:08Speaker 3: was like, everybody, come in, we have an open border.
- 14:10Speaker 3: They caught thirty thousand, seven hundred and sixty six compared
- 14:14Speaker 3: to three thy nine hundred and ninety five one year apart.
- 14:17Speaker 4: What changed? A president that is enforcing the law.
- 14:21Speaker 3: The Southwest Land border encounters that were reported and published
- 14:25Speaker 3: by the US Customs and Border Protection said, this is
- 14:28Speaker 3: now going back to a point that we can manage
- 14:31Speaker 3: and protect the border compared to what it was now.
- 14:34Speaker 3: If you do the math on that, this represents a
- 14:36Speaker 3: drop of now more than eighty seven percent year over year.
- 14:40Speaker 3: The June apprehension numbers are also down from five four
- 14:44Speaker 3: hundred ninety one migrants apprehended in May. So this is
- 14:47Speaker 3: also sending a message around the world you probably don't
- 14:50Speaker 3: want to try because you're going to get caught and
- 14:52Speaker 3: it's not an open border that we had under the
- 14:55Speaker 3: radicals in the Biden regime.
- 14:57Speaker 4: Border apprehensions in the.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Texas based sector and June accounted for approximately sixty six
- 15:03Speaker 3: percent of all migrants apprehended along the southern border with Mexico.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Nearly four thousand, six hundred migrants were apprehended in all
- 15:11Speaker 3: nine border patrol sectors along the southwest border in July.
- 15:16Speaker 3: That marks she had another historic low for the Trump administration.
- 15:20Speaker 3: So Christyome put it out this way, and she said
- 15:22Speaker 3: in her tweet where she was going through all these numbers,
- 15:25Speaker 3: and again, why is the media not telling you how
- 15:27Speaker 3: safe the border has become? Because they don't want you
- 15:30Speaker 3: to know this. Okay, history made again is how Christy
- 15:34Speaker 3: Nome put it. The numbers don't lie. This is the
- 15:36Speaker 3: most secure of the border has ever been. President Donald
- 15:39Speaker 3: Trump didn't just manage the crisis, he obliterated it. No
- 15:42Speaker 3: more excuses, Christy Nome said, no more releases. We put
- 15:46Speaker 3: the cartels on defense and taken our border back. She
- 15:50Speaker 3: then said, in July the lowest nationwide encounter number ever
- 15:54Speaker 3: twenty four thousand, six hundred and thirty That is down
- 15:58Speaker 3: two point four percent from June. But here's the number
- 16:00Speaker 3: that you're going to care about. It's ninety percent lower
- 16:03Speaker 3: than the monthly average under the last administration. The lowest
- 16:07Speaker 3: border patrol apprehensions nationwide also six thousand, one hundred and
- 16:11Speaker 3: seventy seven.
- 16:12Speaker 4: That shattered, by the way, June's all time low as well.
- 16:16Speaker 3: She went on to say, this the lowest Southwest border
- 16:19Speaker 3: apprehensions we've ever seen, four thousand, five hundred ninety eight,
- 16:22Speaker 3: nearly five hundred fewer than the daily average under the
- 16:26Speaker 3: last administration, which averaged five thousand, one hundred and ten
- 16:30Speaker 3: apprehensions per day from February of twenty twenty one to
- 16:33Speaker 3: December of twenty twenty four. We also have the lowest
- 16:36Speaker 3: daily apprehension average, just one hundred and forty eight per day.
- 16:39Speaker 3: That's lower than the average rate of one hundred and
- 16:42Speaker 3: fifty two apprehensions every two hours under the Biden administration
- 16:47Speaker 3: last July alone, So we're doing one hundred and forty
- 16:50Speaker 3: eight a day in apprehensions. They were doing one hundred
- 16:53Speaker 3: and fifty two every two hours, every hour of the
- 16:56Speaker 3: day twenty four to seven last July.
- 16:58Speaker 4: And then she finally says that the lowest single.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Day apprehensions in history eighty eight at the Southwest border,
- 17:05Speaker 3: one hundred and sixteen nationwide on July the twentieth.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Now, look at the calendar right now and where we are.
- 17:10Speaker 3: What you're hearing and what we're seeing from border patrol
- 17:13Speaker 3: agents and from the Trump administration is that the word
- 17:16Speaker 3: is getting out. Do you really want to go into
- 17:18Speaker 3: incredible debt to try to come to America to immediately
- 17:21Speaker 3: get caught and then be sent home? Do you want
- 17:23Speaker 3: to pay these smugglers to get you in and you're
- 17:25Speaker 3: going to get caught? You look at the lowest single
- 17:27Speaker 3: day apprehension in history, eighty eighth the Southwest border and
- 17:30Speaker 3: one hundred and sixteen nation one on July twentieth. Now
- 17:33Speaker 3: I say that because you may say, well, okay, hold on,
- 17:35Speaker 3: maybe there was a bad weather day.
- 17:36Speaker 4: No it wasn't. It was actually a great weather day.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Why nay on July twentieth, did you have these numbers
- 17:42Speaker 3: drop that much? Because that's the last day we have
- 17:44Speaker 3: reported and public access to what Donald Trump is doing
- 17:47Speaker 3: is he's going after and using ice and they're going
- 17:50Speaker 3: after the illegal immigrants everywhere they are, including sanctuary cities.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Word is getting back to the smugglers and the human
- 17:57Speaker 3: traffickers and those that were paying them that it may
- 18:00Speaker 3: not be worth you paying them because you're probably not
- 18:03Speaker 3: going to make it. And that is how Trump is
- 18:06Speaker 3: making America safe again.
