- 1:44Speaker 1: to turn turn the water the water go. Come come
- 1:58Speaker 1: on your baby day. Uh huh, I sure will come on.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And everybody you're listening to the voice, come on dig
- 2:07Speaker 1: me now, one and all. It's Steve Harvey got a
- 2:10Speaker 1: radio show. Well all right, I've learned something and in
- 2:19Speaker 1: sharing time, and I am all ever appreciated. I do
- 2:25Speaker 1: appreciate God for all that he allows me to learn
- 2:29Speaker 1: in my life. And what I've learned. One of the
- 2:34Speaker 1: best lessons I've learned is that hardship teaches you some
- 2:43Speaker 1: great lessons. Challenges brings about some of my best results.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I think what I'm trying to say is in every
- 2:54Speaker 1: challenge and hardship, every setback, I've learned something so so
- 3:01Speaker 1: valuable and it comes It just comes down to all.
- 3:07Speaker 1: It just comes down to how you look at it.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You know, um, you've all heard this. We've all heard it.
- 3:15Speaker 1: You can look at the glass and you can see
- 3:17Speaker 1: it half empty or half full. It's amazing how many
- 3:21Speaker 1: people see the glass half empty. I am telling you
- 3:25Speaker 1: right now, it's better to see the glass half full.
- 3:29Speaker 1: See you can you You come away with a lot
- 3:33Speaker 1: more when you use a positive approach. So here's here's
- 3:38Speaker 1: what I've You know, I've known this, but I've just
- 3:41Speaker 1: learned it at a different angle. Appreciation and gratitude is
- 3:47Speaker 1: the key to having more. Appreciation and gratitude is the
- 3:54Speaker 1: key is the key to continued blessings. Appreciation ingratitude is
- 4:01Speaker 1: the key to open it up the windows of heaven
- 4:06Speaker 1: to pour out a blessing that you won't have rude
- 4:08Speaker 1: enough to receive. Now, I don't know how that sound
- 4:14Speaker 1: to you, but I can't tell you how true it is. Okay,
- 4:21Speaker 1: let's look at it this way. God being fair and
- 4:25Speaker 1: just as he really is. He really is. He's a
- 4:28Speaker 1: fair and a just God. What's most beneficial to us
- 4:31Speaker 1: is he happens to be full of mercy and grace.
- 4:39Speaker 1: And I'm telling you something, man, I've probably benefited from
- 4:44Speaker 1: his grace and mercy more than anything else. I mean, really, man,
- 4:52Speaker 1: if it wasn't for him just forgiving me, and then
- 4:57Speaker 1: for him just touching my life the way he has,
- 5:02Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not hearing this position today. I'm just not.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But a funny thing has happened along the way, even
- 5:10Speaker 1: to you, if you look at it, is it your
- 5:14Speaker 1: genuine appreciation and gratitude has been the key to you
- 5:19Speaker 1: having more for your continued blessings and for making room
- 5:26Speaker 1: for having to open up and pour out blessings that
- 5:28Speaker 1: you don't have room enough to receive. If you look
- 5:31Speaker 1: at it, see God being a fair and just god,
- 5:34Speaker 1: which he is, why would he put more on you
- 5:41Speaker 1: than you can bad? If you've noticed everything that's happened
- 5:45Speaker 1: in your life, if you're still here, you've made it.
- 5:49Speaker 1: You know, forget how rough it was, got that, but
- 5:53Speaker 1: you made it. Forget what it sent you through, and
- 5:56Speaker 1: it hide made you feel you made it. Now, what
- 6:03Speaker 1: makes people give up, and you hear about people committing
- 6:05Speaker 1: suicide is they leave the God out of their life
- 6:09Speaker 1: and they start allowing that other voice to control. And
- 6:13Speaker 1: if it's really true that God never puts more on
- 6:15Speaker 1: you than you can bear. As long as you stay
- 6:18Speaker 1: connected to God, you can get through anything. But you
- 6:22Speaker 1: lose that connection, you lose that communication, you lose that
- 6:28Speaker 1: relationship with him. If you're not having a relationship with God,
- 6:32Speaker 1: then who you're having a relationship with now it ain't
- 6:38Speaker 1: but two forces at work at all time. It's good
- 6:43Speaker 1: and evil. It's positive and negative is God's satan. Now,
- 6:51Speaker 1: this is at work all the time. So if you're
- 6:55Speaker 1: not being positive about everything, you leave room for negativity
- 6:59Speaker 1: to step in. If you're not trying to be righteous
- 7:03Speaker 1: in your way, then you allow evil to step in.
- 7:08Speaker 1: If you don't work on your relationship with God. Come on, now,
- 7:13Speaker 1: look who you're letting step in. So now I'm asking
- 7:18Speaker 1: you to understand that God never puts more on you
- 7:22Speaker 1: than you can bar. Okay, now that we got that clear,
- 7:24Speaker 1: that's a fact. Okay. Now with that fact in mind,
- 7:27Speaker 1: let's go over this right here. Why would God, being
- 7:31Speaker 1: as just and merciful as he is, put more on
- 7:35Speaker 1: you than you can bear? Example, if God has given
- 7:39Speaker 1: you blessings and all you're doing is complaining about him,
- 7:44Speaker 1: you're never showing any appreciation of gratitude about it, why
- 7:48Speaker 1: would he give you some most stuff to be ungrateful for.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Why would he give you some more stuff to complain about?
- 7:55Speaker 1: Why would he give you some more stuff that you
- 7:57Speaker 1: would not show any more appreciation for? I mean, this
- 8:00Speaker 1: thing is real simple, man, ain't it? If you think
- 8:02Speaker 1: about it? So? A lot of times, man, when I
- 8:05Speaker 1: was going through my positions of not having it and
- 8:08Speaker 1: wondering at all like here, I ended up checking myself
- 8:11Speaker 1: and going, man, I'm not even showing any gratitude or
- 8:14Speaker 1: appreciation for the things he has done for me. Start
- 8:17Speaker 1: showing some appreciation and gratitude, because it's the key to
- 8:21Speaker 1: having more. It's the key to continued blessings. It's the
- 8:25Speaker 1: key to the wonders of heaven opening up and pouring
- 8:28Speaker 1: out a blessing that you won't have room enough to receive.
- 8:32Speaker 1: It's the appreciation and gratitude of what you already have,
- 8:37Speaker 1: as minimal as it may appear to be right now
- 8:40Speaker 1: for you, it is still what you have. But if
- 8:44Speaker 1: you've shown no grat no gratitude for the minimal, why
- 8:51Speaker 1: would he give you the maximum? I mean, I'm just
- 8:55Speaker 1: really just trying to put it real, real simple, so
- 8:59Speaker 1: I can keep under standing this thing right here. So
- 9:02Speaker 1: let me give you an example. In my life, I
- 9:05Speaker 1: had gotten so busy at one point that I had
- 9:09Speaker 1: begun to complain about how busy I was. This is
- 9:15Speaker 1: true because I am busy, but it ain't the busy
- 9:19Speaker 1: part because I asked to be busy, you know, I
- 9:23Speaker 1: asked God to give me opportunities and to make a
- 9:26Speaker 1: way for me. Well, in that, you got to do something,
- 9:29Speaker 1: and you got to get busy. But I began to
- 9:33Speaker 1: complain about the business and how busy I was, and
- 9:38Speaker 1: I noticed that a couple of things slowed up for me.
- 9:41Speaker 1: So I had got to the point where I wasn't
- 9:44Speaker 1: showing real gratitude for it. Well, I looked up and
- 9:48Speaker 1: a couple of things started slowing down. And then I
- 9:50Speaker 1: had to catch myself, and I went, wow, man, you
- 9:53Speaker 1: have got to start embracing the fact that you are
- 9:57Speaker 1: this busy. Embrace the factor what all comes along with it.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Because to whom much is given, much is required. You
- 10:04Speaker 1: got to start embracing the requirement part if you want
- 10:08Speaker 1: to continue with the giving part. So I changed my attitude.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I caught myself, and I started thinking him and showing
- 10:15Speaker 1: real gratitude for how busy I was. Instead of complaining
- 10:18Speaker 1: about how busy I was, and then guess what, It
- 10:21Speaker 1: opened up the windows of heaven and some more blessings
- 10:24Speaker 1: got poured out. It just works that way all the time,
- 10:27Speaker 1: for everybody, for me, for you, for everybody. So listen,
- 10:32Speaker 1: y'all again. Your appreciation and gratitude is the key to
- 10:35Speaker 1: having more. Your appreciation and gratitude is the key to
- 10:38Speaker 1: continued blessings. And your appreciation and gratitude it's the only
- 10:43Speaker 1: way that you can get those windows of heaven to
- 10:46Speaker 1: open up and pull out these blessings that you won't
- 10:48Speaker 1: have room enough to receive. You got to act like
- 10:51Speaker 1: you're glad for what you got in order to get more.
- 10:53Speaker 1: You feel me. Let's go, ladies and gentlemen, now have
- 11:05Speaker 1: your attention please. You are listening to the voice of
- 11:12Speaker 1: the man himself. I'm is Steve Hardy Boy, and this
- 11:21Speaker 1: is the Steve Harvey Morning Show, which would be nothing
- 11:27Speaker 1: without the following people. Sirley Strawbay, Hey, good morning, Steve

- 12:33Speaker 1: all week long, and the person that has been closest
- 12:37Speaker 1: to this conversation has been you. And what have you
- 12:40Speaker 1: learned from this? To not play? Not a darned thing evidently, man.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Just sitting over there, just shopping online. That is exactly

- 12:56Speaker 1: of what she needs to do this year. Help me.
- 12:59Speaker 1: This is Tommy mid Show remarked at the beginning of
- 13:05Speaker 1: what she needs to do to straighten her life out.
- 13:08Speaker 1: In your opinion, I think she needs to plan. I
- 13:11Speaker 1: think Shirley needs to get some projects. I think Shirley
- 13:14Speaker 1: is the person that a lot of women would actually
- 13:16Speaker 1: follow and Shirley put some projects in order. Because I
- 13:19Speaker 1: think Shirley got going on. I think, well known for shoes,
- 13:22Speaker 1: surely you can have your own show called Shirley Shoe Class.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Get there. Yeah, maybe you get everybody people people feel
- 13:30Speaker 1: to get married and want shoes for that or blah
- 13:32Speaker 1: blah blah, Shirley Shoes. I think, why don't you, why
- 13:36Speaker 1: don't you create a shoe line this year? Okay, I'm
- 13:39Speaker 1: writing it down right now, shoe line. Can we just
- 13:42Speaker 1: give a round of appause to the name? I mean,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you really have changed? Okay, okay, shoe line. I have
- 13:48Speaker 1: no idea how to start it, but I like the idea.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I'll partner with you if you do it. Okay, online
- 13:58Speaker 1: business only online, no brick and mortar, no in stores.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I will introduce you to some people. You could promote
- 14:07Speaker 1: it from the show. That's really a good idea, that
- 14:12Speaker 1: is that's a great idea. Temmy, do you want a percentage? No, Shirley,
- 14:17Speaker 1: I just want you to win. Thank you, Thank you
- 14:22Speaker 1: God God for you, baby, thank you, thank you, thank you,
- 14:25Speaker 1: thank you. All right, coming out more of the Steve
- 14:28Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show right after this you're listening to show.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Come on, guys, insult you can you an argument? Yeah?
- 14:38Speaker 1: The main thing about having an argument is to just
- 14:40Speaker 1: switch it into any direction you wanted to go. No
- 14:44Speaker 1: matter what the argument is about, just say something that
- 14:46Speaker 1: don't have nothing to do with the damn argument. Now
- 14:50Speaker 1: you know what I mean? You know, like you arguing somebody,
- 14:52Speaker 1: you just throw it out there. Well, if you had
- 14:54Speaker 1: some black friends, just wouldn't happen to you. You see
- 14:57Speaker 1: what I'm saying. That ain't got nothing to do with
- 15:03Speaker 1: you got one. You speak and you always and you
- 15:12Speaker 1: gotta say when you know, you lose the dog, when

- 15:41Speaker 1: Now you are about a white daddy. Don't matter that
- 15:52Speaker 1: one out, the one out, It ain't got nothing to
- 15:54Speaker 1: do with it. Damn if you know so much, how
- 15:58Speaker 1: come you got none? They gotta defend that. I gotta
- 16:07Speaker 1: talk about the NATO having to say somewhere with you
- 16:16Speaker 1: my last feet. That's how you thought out there, like

- 16:28Speaker 1: facing your oldest child is stupid, accepted, yea, accept the fact.
- 16:36Speaker 1: But you'll be losing the argue, losing the argument. And
- 16:41Speaker 1: I didn't gonna argue saying you know what, you know what,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I ain't gonna say this. I'm go ahead and said,
- 16:45Speaker 1: how you real fault? This is the time you to know, right,
- 16:53Speaker 1: Oh well, when you're losing, you just gotta come out

- 22:06Speaker 1: and we wanted to actually call and see about scheduling
- 22:09Speaker 1: and see what you had available. Uh some some services. Well,
- 22:14Speaker 1: y'all plan on Clesson Gradu, which I do. What kind
- 22:17Speaker 1: of services you had? Actually, sir, you've got some friends
- 22:21Speaker 1: that have actually spent a great amount of money on you.
- 22:24Speaker 1: And what we do is UM we have a Baptismal
- 22:28Speaker 1: Owned Wheels servant and what we do is we go
- 22:31Speaker 1: and we um we baptize people at their home. And
- 22:36Speaker 1: Baptismal Wheels has been it's a new UM company, but

- 23:06Speaker 1: you right there in your drive where your friends are
- 23:08Speaker 1: paid for the services. And my friend, what friend will
- 23:11Speaker 1: pay for me to get baptized? Man, I've been baptized,
- 23:14Speaker 1: are already doc well? From my understanding, sir that but
- 23:17Speaker 1: then that you you've had some some bumps and bruises
- 23:20Speaker 1: and and and they seem to believe that you need
- 23:23Speaker 1: to be Washington comage. I mean that's all good, that's all.
- 23:26Speaker 1: That's all. It's all good. But I mean things are
- 23:28Speaker 1: I mean, think that matter that it made? Man? I mean,
- 23:31Speaker 1: I've been baptized, I go to church. You know, Uh,
- 23:34Speaker 1: me and the Lord don't have no problems. I mean
- 23:36Speaker 1: we all have setbacks. But for you to pull up
- 23:38Speaker 1: with your pool in front of my house to say
- 23:41Speaker 1: you've been a baptize me, that that doesn't make any
- 23:43Speaker 1: sense to me. Doc, I mean suceeds sir. Sometimes when
- 23:46Speaker 1: some people are not able to go to the House
- 23:48Speaker 1: of the Lord and get baptized. You know, we're making
- 23:51Speaker 1: a lot more convenient for you, but we can actually
- 23:54Speaker 1: need no convenience. I don't need no convenience. What I
- 23:58Speaker 1: need convenience for you asking me to come to my
- 24:01Speaker 1: house on a Tuesday to baptize me in my driveway?
- 24:07Speaker 1: Does that make any sense to you? Brother Water? I mean,
- 24:10Speaker 1: come on, if you really sit back and think about it,
- 24:12Speaker 1: does that make any sense to you? Further? First of all,
- 24:16Speaker 1: so that's that's that's that's brothers spring Water. But what
- 24:19Speaker 1: I'm trying to what I'm trying to see. The water
- 24:21Speaker 1: is holy water, spring water. It doesn't make no difference
- 24:25Speaker 1: to me. You can't come to my neighborhood and baptize
- 24:29Speaker 1: me in front of my house. So what is all that?
- 24:32Speaker 1: This is? This is what your friends are talking about
- 24:34Speaker 1: that don't get there. It wasn't My prayers are telling you,
- 24:37Speaker 1: man that anybody which which one of my friends, gonna

- 30:42Speaker 1: tie wreck in front of me to just try to
- 30:45Speaker 1: hang on. I'm twisting the guest tile in my head
- 30:48Speaker 1: like I'm ranging it out. I didn't knock the tallet
- 30:52Speaker 1: tissue holder off the wall screws out everything. I hadn't
- 30:57Speaker 1: kicked over the trash. But I'm using the bathroom so
- 31:00Speaker 1: much that is alarming to me. Yeah, you, I've actually
- 31:07Speaker 1: put mo in there than I've ever put in there
- 31:10Speaker 1: in my life prior to I think we got the
- 31:14Speaker 1: I didn't know what. Don't stop my story shot. This
- 31:19Speaker 1: is for junior and time, I know. So I'm filling
- 31:22Speaker 1: the bowl up. So finally I'm done. To my relief,
- 31:25Speaker 1: I'm but I'm sweating though I'm talking about I'm in there.
- 31:31Speaker 1: My shirt wide. I hadn't my whole ship. It's wide.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I had hung my pass up on the back of
- 31:41Speaker 1: the June because I use a bathroom like my daddy
- 31:44Speaker 1: always hate my pants and draws up on the back
- 31:47Speaker 1: of the j Yeah, you don't ever use the bathroom.
- 31:52Speaker 1: But I got my shirt on, but I didn't open
- 31:54Speaker 1: it up because it's hot. I got just just water
- 31:57Speaker 1: coming down out the front. So I stand up and
- 32:02Speaker 1: I flushed the toilet. Now I'm putting my clothes on.
- 32:07Speaker 1: But you know how you're waiting to hear that sound
- 32:10Speaker 1: that all I hear is the swirling And I turned
- 32:19Speaker 1: around and in his rising rising, I'm asking God not

- 35:45Speaker 1: Aretha Franklin means to me, this is everybody you're listening
- 36:14Speaker 1: here back, just catch up. I'm over this fine girl
- 36:20Speaker 1: house stomach toe up, the eight gree old food seventeen
- 36:23Speaker 1: should have went home to use the bathroom set in
- 36:26Speaker 1: the house, because she's fine. Now I'm in here using
- 36:28Speaker 1: the bathroom and all held and broken. I'm in here, neked,
- 36:33Speaker 1: sitting on the cart, just my shirt on because I
- 36:36Speaker 1: like to shit wide leg I like to be open
- 36:39Speaker 1: and free, and I need it because I had to
- 36:41Speaker 1: brace myself a couple of times. But she never came
- 36:44Speaker 1: in there to not chet. She coming, that's coming in
- 36:47Speaker 1: the store. So I get up. I finally get through,
- 36:51Speaker 1: but I've noticed that I'm putting more in the bowls
- 36:53Speaker 1: and ever be so I'm a little bit concerned with
- 36:57Speaker 1: them shier volume. So I flushed the hart as I'm
- 37:00Speaker 1: putting my plays back up on me, and I'm waiting
- 37:03Speaker 1: to hear that. But I don't hear it. And I
- 37:07Speaker 1: look back and let's going in a slow circle. So
- 37:14Speaker 1: I go in. I go to my heavely father. Here,
- 37:17Speaker 1: father dog, Now Lord, stop this rising time. Wow, somebown,
- 37:27Speaker 1: don't let this swirl get up by the top. But
- 37:30Speaker 1: he didn't hear me that day. Yeah, I guess it
- 37:33Speaker 1: wasn't less. The next thing I know, it's at the
- 37:36Speaker 1: very top of the tarlet. Oh my god, and it's
- 37:40Speaker 1: about to flow over. So now I don't know what
- 37:45Speaker 1: to do. So I look down and it's a trash can.
- 37:50Speaker 1: So I dipped the trash can down in it, and
- 37:54Speaker 1: I got a trash can full of it. Yeah, so
- 37:57Speaker 1: I pulled a shower curtain back and throw it in
- 38:01Speaker 1: the bath too. When here comes some more. So I
- 38:08Speaker 1: had to take another trash can full of it and
- 38:11Speaker 1: throw another trash can in the bathtub. And here comes
- 38:15Speaker 1: some damn mot So now I realized they call it
- 38:19Speaker 1: it's broke. They call it backed up, and it started
- 38:25Speaker 1: going back down. I say, I gotta get some water
- 38:31Speaker 1: and put it in here. So I started running water
- 38:33Speaker 1: in the trash can to pour it down there and
- 38:36Speaker 1: make the water go clean. So I finally did that,
- 38:40Speaker 1: and I said, thank your Lord. And I looked over
- 38:44Speaker 1: and the damn bathtub tripp shower cras trip. I looked up.
- 38:55Speaker 1: It's on the wall. It's on the wall. Four part four, holdime,
- 39:01Speaker 1: this is this is Steve Halls in the bathroom trapped
- 39:06Speaker 1: parts folk, coming up right, you're listening here, we are
- 39:13Speaker 1: Steve Steve trapped in the bath part folk. Yeah. I
- 39:20Speaker 1: then veiled out three buckets trash hands a pure mess.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Then throw it in the shower. So when I get
- 39:30Speaker 1: all of the water back in the toilet where I
- 39:32Speaker 1: got it outside in the water clean, I said, okay, cool.
- 39:35Speaker 1: I look over the damn bathtub is striped. So now
- 39:42Speaker 1: I cut these people shower on and I'm washing down
- 39:47Speaker 1: the walls, the shower curtain with the shower. The girl
- 39:52Speaker 1: comes up to the girl because I've been in here
- 39:53Speaker 1: now about forty five minutes time, so she said, you
- 40:00Speaker 1: caning down everything fast. She said, it sounds like something
- 40:07Speaker 1: wrong in that to get away from the dusk my house.
- 40:17Speaker 1: So I'm in there. It's just too late. But I
- 40:21Speaker 1: noticed they got a candle in the bathroom. I light it.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I light the candle, start striking matches and running tap
- 40:28Speaker 1: water for my mom always told me strike some matches
- 40:32Speaker 1: and run some tap water and to help you get
- 40:34Speaker 1: rid of older. So I'm in there. But now I'm
- 40:36Speaker 1: washing down shower curtains, wall the bathtub, getting up stuff
- 40:41Speaker 1: off the floor. Now now you've probably said, Steve, what
- 40:46Speaker 1: is you washing it down with? Yeah? What paper tis
- 40:50Speaker 1: in now? But that tie rat that I had grabbed
- 40:53Speaker 1: when I first sat down and was twisting it. Yeah,
- 40:56Speaker 1: they guest house, the pretty ones with the lace in
- 40:59Speaker 1: the Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I washed it down.
- 41:07Speaker 1: That my good towel that is tile is brown because
- 41:12Speaker 1: I can't rist it all because the color wasn't when
- 41:16Speaker 1: it started that was pink. Is awful. Now it towers
- 41:22Speaker 1: is running. I don't wash all the walls down. Everything
- 41:26Speaker 1: I'm in that sweatings been on the construction site. I've
- 41:31Speaker 1: been in that total about damn near hour. So I
- 41:35Speaker 1: pulled fastened my clothes, I look at the bathrooms. I
- 41:39Speaker 1: got everything up, but I got this big nasty ass
- 41:42Speaker 1: tie and I don't know what to do with it.
- 41:44Speaker 1: So I take it, put it in the waste paper
- 41:47Speaker 1: can that I've been bailing with, and struck all that
- 41:50Speaker 1: under the sink. Yeah. I figured this ain't gonna be good.
- 41:56Speaker 1: No how Yeah, but at least when they come in
- 41:59Speaker 1: here they go, this is gonna take a moment, because
- 42:01Speaker 1: I know when you're going there, you're gonna have to
- 42:03Speaker 1: say what the hid happened? Because I couldn't remember how
- 42:08Speaker 1: the shower curtain was and none of that. And now
- 42:11Speaker 1: I got I look, I'm telling I got everything off right.
- 42:14Speaker 1: So I walked down the hallway. She's sitting on the
- 42:18Speaker 1: couch with the attitude of cooling did. She look at
- 42:23Speaker 1: me and she said, why are you betting that so long?
- 42:25Speaker 1: I had a little accident this, She said, Oh my god,
- 42:29Speaker 1: look at you. What was it? I didn't realize when
- 42:36Speaker 1: I was barely all that mess into the shower it
- 42:41Speaker 1: was splashes on my pants below my knee. I ain't
- 42:47Speaker 1: had time to look at this because I'm gonna too
- 42:50Speaker 1: busy cleaning up their damn house. I looked down. It's
- 42:54Speaker 1: just specks, splash marks from finding me down my pants
- 43:01Speaker 1: was I looked at huh. She looked at me and
- 43:06Speaker 1: she said, oh my god, look at you. What have
- 43:08Speaker 1: you been doing. I looked at her and said, you
- 43:13Speaker 1: ain't gotta talk to me like that, and walked up
- 43:17Speaker 1: the foot snam when he ain't got in my car.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Had to ride home with all my wonders that because
- 43:27Speaker 1: I spank, I smelled like a sitting in that car
- 43:33Speaker 1: and drove home. That girl saw me on the campus
- 43:36Speaker 1: next day and all her girlfriend was looking at me.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I like I had never met her. And that was
- 43:43Speaker 1: my save. Harby Wow, trapped Clawton. I'm gonna put some
- 43:51Speaker 1: music to that all right, all right, never you tell me.

- 53:00Speaker 1: on tight. We got it for you himanes the Strawberry
- 53:03Speaker 1: LETTA subject can't keep this secret much longer. Dear Stephen, Shirley,
- 53:08Speaker 1: my fiance and I met in college and we've been
- 53:11Speaker 1: together for three years. She is perfect in every way.
- 53:15Speaker 1: She has the luks a great job and when it
- 53:17Speaker 1: comes to the bedroom, she is on fire. But anyway,
- 53:22Speaker 1: here is the problem. Last weekend, I took her to
- 53:25Speaker 1: our usual breakfast spot and we started talking about the
- 53:28Speaker 1: wedding and our guest list. I have met her mom,
- 53:31Speaker 1: dad's siblings and grandparents, and she's met my immediate family
- 53:35Speaker 1: as well. As we talked more in depth about our relatives.
- 53:38Speaker 1: I told her about the small city where my family
- 53:41Speaker 1: was from, and she said that her family was from
- 53:43Speaker 1: there too. I told her my dad was a huge
- 53:47Speaker 1: has a huge family and they all lived near the river.
- 53:50Speaker 1: She said that her mom's family lives near that same river.
- 53:54Speaker 1: At that point, we both had strange looks on our faces.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Intrigued by these unique scumstances, my fiance called her grandmother
- 54:03Speaker 1: and asked her if she knew my family. When her
- 54:06Speaker 1: grandmother replied, yes, we're all related, our moths dropped open.
- 54:12Speaker 1: She told us that everyone that lives on either side
- 54:15Speaker 1: of that river is related. Since then, we've done more
- 54:18Speaker 1: research and we found out that we are, in fact cousins.
- 54:23Speaker 1: I cannot believe that I've been sleeping with my cousins.
- 54:27Speaker 1: We are not sure what we should do. We are
- 54:29Speaker 1: in love and plan to get married. I don't want
- 54:32Speaker 1: to lose her, but I'm afraid to continue the relationship,
- 54:36Speaker 1: especially when our families find out her grandmother is bound
- 54:39Speaker 1: to tell our secrets sooner or later. We need some advice.
- 54:42Speaker 1: What should we do? Wow? God, John, Yeah, this is
- 54:47Speaker 1: something right here. I mean, as far as I know,
- 54:51Speaker 1: you can't marry your cousin. You didn't say if you
- 54:53Speaker 1: guys were first cousins. I think in some countries like
- 54:56Speaker 1: England and stuff like that. I think long ago they
- 55:00Speaker 1: you know, in the monarchy and stuff like that, they
- 55:01Speaker 1: wanted to keep the bloodline going, so sometimes they would
- 55:04Speaker 1: marry their cousins and stuff. But you're not over there. Clearly,
- 55:07Speaker 1: some states over here, as I understand it, I look
- 55:10Speaker 1: this up, they do have laws where you can marry
- 55:13Speaker 1: your cousin. So I don't know, I've never heard of this.
- 55:15Speaker 1: I know before long ago, like when my mom got married,
- 55:19Speaker 1: they used to give you blood tests and things like
- 55:21Speaker 1: that to see if you were related. But now when
- 55:23Speaker 1: you get married, you don't have to do blood tests.
- 55:25Speaker 1: So this right here, I couldn't do it at once
- 55:32Speaker 1: I found out it would be it would be hard
- 55:34Speaker 1: for me. But you're in love and you plan to
- 55:37Speaker 1: get married. You don't want to lose her, and you're
- 55:39Speaker 1: afraid to continue the relationship. But remember that look that
- 55:42Speaker 1: you had on your face when you found out. Are
- 55:45Speaker 1: you going to be able to go on with this
- 55:47Speaker 1: marriage knowing that you're married to your cousin? You know
- 55:51Speaker 1: when you have kids? That's something to consider? Is this
- 55:55Speaker 1: is well above my pay grade here? I'm gonna just
- 55:58Speaker 1: be honest with you. I personally would have to back
- 56:01Speaker 1: out once I found out that it was in fact
- 56:03Speaker 1: my cousin Steve. Well, it ain't above my pay grade.
- 56:08Speaker 1: I can tell you that right now. As a matter
- 56:10Speaker 1: of fact, let's damn that rivel. Yeah, let's just gonna
- 56:19Speaker 1: get to this hill. You don't fell in love obviously
- 56:27Speaker 1: the girl of your dreams now y'all lived. I was
- 56:31Speaker 1: at this breakfast place, playing in your wed I just
- 56:34Speaker 1: can't believe that it took y'all three years to start
- 56:39Speaker 1: talking about where y'all from. That's just sort of crazy
- 56:45Speaker 1: to me. Now you've each met each other's all immediate family,
- 56:51Speaker 1: but y'all started talking about this rivel. And that's why
- 56:57Speaker 1: I say the subject of this letter ought to be
- 56:59Speaker 1: came keep this secret much longer. Oh damn that river.
- 57:06Speaker 1: I like how the subject is, can't keep this secret
- 57:11Speaker 1: much longer. Oh damn that river, because that damn river
- 57:17Speaker 1: that messed up the plans. You got to talking more
- 57:20Speaker 1: in debt about your relatives. I told her from a
- 57:23Speaker 1: small city where my family is from. Her family, from
- 57:27Speaker 1: a small city. Told her my dad had a huge family.
- 57:30Speaker 1: She said, her mama got a huge family. She said
- 57:33Speaker 1: her mom family lived near the river. I said, damn,
- 57:36Speaker 1: my dad and family lived near the river. Then you
- 57:39Speaker 1: got that strange look on your face. Then when you
- 57:41Speaker 1: know something wrong right here, you intrigued by these unique circumstances.
- 57:46Speaker 1: She called her grandmama, asked her grandmama, and the grandma replied, yeah,
- 57:50Speaker 1: we are related. Everybody on that river is related. That river,
- 57:58Speaker 1: big mama knows and quit talking to her. Old an,
- 58:05Speaker 1: we all related to everybody on each side of that river. Well,
- 58:10Speaker 1: if everybody on each side of the river is related,
- 58:15Speaker 1: how all and people get on each side of the river.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Some cousins don't met before. You ain't the first one,
- 58:24Speaker 1: y'all in love, what you need to do is find
- 58:28Speaker 1: out how far down the line this cousin thing goes
- 58:35Speaker 1: the river because like Shirley say, she didn't, she didn't
- 58:39Speaker 1: researched it. I don't research stuff like this because I
- 58:44Speaker 1: don't really give damn what y'all do, so so I
- 58:48Speaker 1: don't give damn what you do. All I know is
- 58:51Speaker 1: damn that river. Now listen, if I was you, I
- 58:56Speaker 1: would get a DNA test so you can see how
- 59:01Speaker 1: closely it is. Secondly, you're in love. You ain't gonna
- 59:09Speaker 1: stop loving Hu. You ain't gonna stop seeing Hu. I
- 59:13Speaker 1: don't know how you can. I don't know how this happened.
- 59:17Speaker 1: I don't know if it's meant to be. But hear
- 59:21Speaker 1: what you can't do. I'm gonna come back and share
- 59:25Speaker 1: this information. I'm gonna tell you reasons why you can't
- 59:30Speaker 1: have a wedding and have all their asses. That's why, man,
- 59:36Speaker 1: you can't have a wedding, and that the ass hill. See,
- 59:40Speaker 1: if it's so many states in the US that allow
- 59:42Speaker 1: cousins to get married, it's unbelievable. Yeah, and I think
- 59:46Speaker 1: I understand that if it's so far down the line,
- 59:50Speaker 1: it may not be nothing that can happen. But there's
- 59:54Speaker 1: one damn show way to find out if you should
- 59:56Speaker 1: have gotten married or not cause that baby got to
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: consider that. Yeah, he could be different too. Of Steve's
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: response coming up, he could be standing on the bridge
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: and be looking at both sides of the river at
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: the same time. We'll be back in twenty three after
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: the hour. The subjects can't keep the secret much longer,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: or Steve, damn that river right after this you're listening
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: to show. All right, Steve, come on, we're back. Let's
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: recap this letter. The subject can't keep the secret much longer.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Or this couple been in love. They're so in love.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: They've been dating three years. They decided to get married.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: They're sitting down at the breakfast place. They're going over
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: the list, trying to figure out what they're gonna do,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: who they're gonna invite. She started talking about her grandmama,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: her down there, had a big family, lived on the river.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: He said, his daddy had a big family. His daddy
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: lived people lived on everybody river too, And then that
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: same small city, same damn river. She called big Mama.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Big Mama said, yeah, all us, it's related to everybody
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: on east side of that river. What you call hold
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: as far should have messed up everything. Now you're sitting
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: up in here, Big talking to Big Mama. Probably don't
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: forgot half of it. You. First of all, you need
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: to check Big Mama out. If she got you know,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: she you know something where she lost it. She ain't
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: quite what she was. She might not have all her
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: facts together. But how the hell? Everybody on both sides
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: of the river, it's related. The latter subject is, I
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: can't keep this secret much longer. Oh damn that river. Yeah,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: that's we're all related. Our mouths dropped open. She told
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: us that everybody that lives on either side of that
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: river is related. Since then, we've done more researcher. We
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: found out that we are, in fact cousins. I cannot
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: believe that I've been sleeping with my cousins. We're not
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: sure what we should do. Were in love and playing
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: to getting married. I don't want lose, but I'm afraid
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: to continue the relationship, especially when our family find out
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: we're talking today. Is you talking to the damn them
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: people down at that river? Their family, Steve, don't give
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: a damn. You ain't gonna gonna live down there. You're
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: left a little rage dass city. It's down that by
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: the river, down by the river, side, down by the
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: river side, down by the river side. I'm going to
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: lay down with my cousins down by the river side.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: We gonna find mold love. Now, now listen to me,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: seeing I'm gonna down by the river side, down by
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: the river side, find love like the river side. That
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: in love with the river side. I don't sat by
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: when I didn't lay down from the side of the
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: river side. Flor Dean, Now here's what you could do.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: You could Elope. Don't tell your family. But y'all seem
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: like good people. So here's a deal. They gonna find
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: out the first worried out of old black people. You
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: just nash. That's coming. That's coming. You're just nash. So
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: now we're about to do a re enactment. Okay, I'm

- 1:22:23Speaker 1: about this policy. The guy got up and went somewhere

- 1:29:41Speaker 1: promise you your dreams won't come true if you quit.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: So you got to persevere. You've got to be persistent.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: You're gonna have to realize that you're gonna be faced
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: with the challenges, the disappointments, hardships, setbacks. It's a part
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: of the life. It's part of life, but it's part
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: of the game of success. What the devil does, though,
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: he has a masterful trick. In this moment of disappointment, setbacks, hurt,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: and impatience, he has an amazing trick. He starts playing
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: with your mind. Maybe it ain't meant to be here,
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: going real? When he playing it, you know it probably
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: ain't God's will. Oh, you gotta be careful of that,
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: and be careful of people who always tell you it
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: may not be God's will. How do they know what
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: God's will is for you? Be very careful of people
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: who always come to you with that, never a word
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: of encouragement, never a word to say, hey, you know,
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: I'm pulling for you, none of that. You know, if
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: be literally people who say, you know, it may not
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: be for you, Maybe it's not for you. How do
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: they know this? How do they know this? If you
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: bet on that happening, if you've seen it in your
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: imagination over and over and over, if you're thoroughly convinced
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: that this is for you, and if you gifted at it,
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: stop listening to these people. Stop listening to these people.
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: Have you ever heard somebody you know what could be?
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: Maybe you thinking to be Are you kidding me? Maybe
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: it's not your time, maybe it ain't the lord's will.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: When a person always comes to you with that and
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: never has words of encouragement, you have shared your dream
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: with the worst person you can possibly share your dream with.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: If you want to kill a big dream, share it
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: with a small minded person. Oh my god, they are
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: experts at hog come. Why not what faults high as
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: supposed to work out? Small minded people only tell you
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: why something won't work. Have you noticed that everybody? Do
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: you have somebody in your life man that every time
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: you talk to them, they got something negative? Say? You
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: know that? You know? Have you ever heard anybody say
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: to them to the you know what? You've really put
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: enough into this? Have you ever heard that you've really
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: put enough into this? Hold on, wait a minute, man,
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: do you realize that in order to become successful that
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: you have to pour your all in all into something?
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: All in all means all you got and all some
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: mote when you when you when something says you have
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: to give you'all all in all that means you have
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: to give your all, which is everything you have, and
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: then you have to find some moe to throw at it.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: That's what all in all means that's given it all
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: and all, so you gotta throw everything you have at it,
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: and then you gotta throw some more at it. My
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: father used to take this, tell me this all the time,
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: and I did not understand until I got older. He
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: used to always say to me. He said, son, when
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: you think you can't do no more, do some more.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: And I actually be looking at my father, go, man,
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: this is dude crazy. Didn't he didn't he hear me
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: just say how tired I am? Didn't my father just
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: hear me say I can't do no more? He looked
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: dead at me and say, son, when you feel like
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: you can't do no more, do some more. I bet
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: you can't. And you know what, he was right. I
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: didn't get it until I grew up, and I started
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: thinking about giving up or quitting or walking away. And
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: I found myself just hanging in there, because you know what,
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: when you think you've done everything you could do and
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: you can't do no more, do like my daddy, slip
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: Car said, just do some more. When you want to
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: be successful, you're gonna have to give your all in all.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: So that means you gotta put all you have into it.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: And when you can put all you got into something,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: you gotta find some more and throw that at it too.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: That's it. If you can do that, If you can
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: do that, that's the end of a very famous poem
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: I learned while pledging. Call If if you can fulfill
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: the unforgiving minute with sixty seconds worth of distance, run,
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: the earth is yours and everything that's in it, and
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: which is more, you will be a man, my son.
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: The key to that is, if you can fulfill the
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: unforgiving minute, then unforgiving minute means it just keeps on ticket.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: But if you can fill it with sixty seconds worth
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: of distance, run, that means the whole time you and
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: there you hauling, the earth is yours and everything that's
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: in it, and which is more, You'll be a man
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: for all. Steve Harvey contests no purchase necessary, void where prohibited.
