Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / WNBA’s Brittney Griner’s 9-Year Prison Sentence Upheld In Russian Appeals Court as Biden's foreign policy disaster continues
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: W NBA star Britney Griner has now become a State
- 0:04Speaker 1: Department and the President's nightmare. Why because a nine year
- 0:08Speaker 1: prison sentence has just been upheld in a Russian appeals court.
- 0:12Speaker 1: This is no longer about NBA or the w NBA
- 0:15Speaker 1: or her as a player. This is now a big
- 0:20Speaker 1: problem for the State Department and our president. How do
- 0:23Speaker 1: we get her back? I agree with many who have
- 0:26Speaker 1: said the only way to get her back is a
- 0:28Speaker 1: prisoner swap. Bill Richardson said this on CNN, as you
- 0:33Speaker 1: have with other Americans detained abroad, you are currently talking
- 0:37Speaker 1: with the Russians to try and help the US government
- 0:40Speaker 1: secure Britney Griner's release. The Russians confirmed for the first
- 0:43Speaker 1: time today that they are negotiating. For what that's worth.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Do you think a prisoner swap is the only way
- 0:50Speaker 1: to get this done? Yes? I do think so, because
- 0:53Speaker 1: this is an issue that this is how the Russians negotiate.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Now that the court system is over with Brittany Griner
- 1:02Speaker 1: and has been over with Paul Wheeland, let's not forget him.
- 1:05Speaker 1: The American Marine, then the Russians and other countries that
- 1:10Speaker 1: I've dealt with, say, okay, the court process is over,
- 1:13Speaker 1: we're ready to negotiate. I think the President and his
- 1:16Speaker 1: team have been very upfront and good and said, Okay,
- 1:20Speaker 1: this is what we want to get in return. They
- 1:23Speaker 1: didn't do it directly with the boot, but it's pretty
- 1:26Speaker 1: obvious for Griner and for Wheeling. So now the real
- 1:30Speaker 1: negotiating through the government channel starts. I mean, I'm helping,
- 1:34Speaker 1: but I'm not the official government channel. I'm not trying
- 1:37Speaker 1: to replace anybody, but I too talked to both sides.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I know a lot of the Russians. I do talk
- 1:43Speaker 1: to the administration, to the White House. I try to
- 1:46Speaker 1: push the process along. But my foundation works for the families.
- 1:52Speaker 1: In other words, the families asked us to get involved,
- 1:55Speaker 1: Brittany Griner's family, Paul Wheeland's family, and we were involved
- 2:00Speaker 1: in Trevor Read the American marine who two months ago
- 2:03Speaker 1: got out for Russia named Yerushenko. The President had to
- 2:07Speaker 1: approve that, and I'm giving him the credit for that.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But we did help with a trip to Russia right
- 2:12Speaker 1: before it happened. So we are involved in this. But
- 2:16Speaker 1: I think the prospects are reasonably good. Non instantaneous that
- 2:21Speaker 1: a swap WO happened, but yes, I don't see how
- 2:25Speaker 1: El said anything will happen other than a prisoners swap.
- 2:28Speaker 1: They're unseemly, they don't look good, but we have to
- 2:31Speaker 1: do them to bring our American hostages back. And it's
- 2:35Speaker 1: not just Reiner and Wheeland that are in Russia. There's
- 2:39Speaker 1: a POW in Ukraine. There's three other detainees. The families
- 2:45Speaker 1: have contacted us. So this is not over. But yes,
- 2:48Speaker 1: it is going to be a prisoner swap. I think
- 2:50Speaker 1: it'll be two for two. That's my prediction. I think
- 2:54Speaker 1: it'll be two for two now, Bill Richardson, I don't
- 2:57Speaker 1: disagree with pretty much anything he said here. The question
- 2:59Speaker 1: is do you swap for Brittany Grinder. Now, before I
- 3:03Speaker 1: get into more of this story, I want to say

- 4:10Speaker 1: code Ben. Now, let's talk about the history of the
- 4:13Speaker 1: background of Brittany so you understand how we even got
- 4:15Speaker 1: to this point of this being such a such a
- 4:18Speaker 1: diplomatic nightmare for this presidency. Number one, Brittany Griner is
- 4:24Speaker 1: an individual that is not a big fan of the
- 4:27Speaker 1: United States of America. She's a individual that said the
- 4:29Speaker 1: national anthem should not be played before w NBA game.
- 4:32Speaker 1: She was a Black Lives Matter advocate, the kneeling and
- 4:34Speaker 1: all that, and ashamed of the United States of America.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Does that mean we shouldn't fight to get her back. No,
- 4:41Speaker 1: it doesn't. I want to make that clear because when
- 4:44Speaker 1: you're an American citizen and you are being used for
- 4:48Speaker 1: leverage by Russians, because you're an American, we should fight,
- 4:53Speaker 1: regardless of what you have said, in my opinion, to
- 4:55Speaker 1: get you back. Do I think that we should trade
- 4:58Speaker 1: a high level rush for her? Let me also say no,
- 5:03Speaker 1: I don't. Is it if it's somebody to put our
- 5:05Speaker 1: national security at risk, should we give them that person? No,
- 5:08Speaker 1: because then he gives an incentive for more Americans to
- 5:13Speaker 1: be held hostage in Russia. Now w NBA star Britney Grinder,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I also want to make this clear. I do feel
- 5:20Speaker 1: sorry for the nine year prison sentence that was upheld
- 5:24Speaker 1: in this Moscow Regional Court hearing. We all know it's
- 5:26Speaker 1: kangaroo court. We all know it's a joke. This Phoenix
- 5:31Speaker 1: Mercury w NBA Center and her legal team had hope
- 5:34Speaker 1: for an acquittal or reduction sentence that they believe was
- 5:38Speaker 1: too severe and quote politically motivated. Of course it was
- 5:41Speaker 1: politically motivated. Of course it was too severe. That's exactly
- 5:46Speaker 1: what the Russians did because they want to hold her hostage,
- 5:50Speaker 1: which is exactly what Bill Richson said a moment ago,
- 5:53Speaker 1: no Judge Hannah Heart will honestly say that Grinder's nine
- 5:56Speaker 1: year sentence is in line with Russian criminal law. That's
- 6:00Speaker 1: what one of Grinder's lawyers said, according to Reuters. He added,
- 6:03Speaker 1: if the court wants to punish her, it should give
- 6:06Speaker 1: her a new fair verdict and mitigate the punishment. The
- 6:09Speaker 1: severity and cruel the other sentence applied to shocks people
- 6:13Speaker 1: around the world. By the way, the Russians don't give
- 6:15Speaker 1: a crap about shocking people around the world. Her arrest
- 6:18Speaker 1: again occurred just four days before Russian invaded Ukraine in February,
- 6:23Speaker 1: knowing that this would give them leverage. She has now
- 6:26Speaker 1: been held for eight months. I hate that for her
- 6:29Speaker 1: in general. The six foot nine in center was sentence
- 6:32Speaker 1: in August, receiving just under the tenure maximum sentence for
- 6:36Speaker 1: the drugs. She said at the time quote, I never
- 6:40Speaker 1: meant to hurt anybody. I never meant to put in
- 6:43Speaker 1: jeopardy the Russian population. I never meant to break any
- 6:47Speaker 1: laws here, Grinder said ahead of the verdict, I made
- 6:50Speaker 1: an honest mistake and I hope that in your ruling
- 6:54Speaker 1: that it doesn't end my life here. I know everybody
- 6:57Speaker 1: keeps talking about political pawn and politics. My hope that
- 7:00Speaker 1: that is far from this courtroom. Now, a growing number
- 7:05Speaker 1: of Americans have now called on the Biden administration to
- 7:08Speaker 1: get their act together to do more to secure Grinder's release.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Brooklyn Nets NBA star Kyrie Irving took to the microphone
- 7:17Speaker 1: at the mid court before his team's season opener to
- 7:20Speaker 1: call and present Joe Biden to bring Brittany Grinder home.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Just so you know, these types of things do not help.
- 7:27Speaker 1: They only make her value go up like a stock
- 7:31Speaker 1: in Russia's prison system. That's one of the things I
- 7:36Speaker 1: don't understand about many on the left who have been
- 7:38Speaker 1: trying to bring more attention to Grinder, and all it
- 7:41Speaker 1: does is make her more valuable to the Russians. This
- 7:44Speaker 1: stuff is going to be done behind closed doors in quiet.
- 7:47Speaker 1: The faster we act like we're moving on with our lives,
- 7:50Speaker 1: the better off we're going to be. That's one thing
- 7:52Speaker 1: I actually agree with the State Department on. But a
- 7:54Speaker 1: growing number of American lefties have called for the Biden
- 7:57Speaker 1: administration to do more. I appreciate, appreciate us being able
- 8:02Speaker 1: to share this floor together, all of us as brothers.
- 8:06Speaker 1: But the big picture that's going on in the world
- 8:08Speaker 1: is free our sister, Britney Grinder. Please, Irving shared with
- 8:12Speaker 1: the home crowd potus do your job, everybody, do your job.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Bring home, Please bring our sister home. We wouldn't be
- 8:21Speaker 1: doing our jobs to the best our ability if we
- 8:23Speaker 1: didn't stand for what we believe in, he added. Many
- 8:26Speaker 1: across the w NBA have also expressed support for Grinder
- 8:30Speaker 1: last Tuesday, on our thirty second birthday, many of them
- 8:33Speaker 1: posting birthday messages saying Happy birthday, Britney Grinder. We will
- 8:37Speaker 1: not forget about you, and we will not stop fighting
- 8:39Speaker 1: for you. The w referring to the w NBA won't
- 8:42Speaker 1: be the same until your home. That's where the league's
- 8:45Speaker 1: Twitter account posted again, this is not necessarily a smart
- 8:49Speaker 1: move because all it does is raise the value Britney
- 8:52Speaker 1: Grinder's life. This is what I don't understand. By the way,
- 8:56Speaker 1: by these local lefties right, the same people that we're
- 8:59Speaker 1: saying they want to get rid of the national anthem
- 9:01Speaker 1: are now demanding that the country that they were ashamed
- 9:04Speaker 1: of step up and save their friend. Wake up, all right,
- 9:09Speaker 1: we are the greatest country in the world. And that's
- 9:11Speaker 1: part of the reason why they took Grinder, because they
- 9:12Speaker 1: knew we'd become weak under the woke liberal lefties, including
- 9:15Speaker 1: the President Knit States America that you're now demanding that
- 9:18Speaker 1: he'd do his job. The Biden administration had previously attempted
- 9:23Speaker 1: a prisoner swap involving the Merchant of Death arms dealer
- 9:27Speaker 1: Victor Bout for Grinder an American Paul Wheland. The attempts
- 9:32Speaker 1: have so far proven unsuccessful. Now the Merchant of Death,
- 9:35Speaker 1: and this is my problem, is not the equivalent of
- 9:38Speaker 1: Brittany Grinder. They have not responded to our offer. We
- 9:42Speaker 1: have made a serious offer to get Britney Grinder and
- 9:45Speaker 1: Paul Wheeland back home. The Russians have not responded to
- 9:48Speaker 1: that offer. But that doesn't mean that we're not still
- 9:51Speaker 1: in negotiations and we're not still trying, is what the
- 9:55Speaker 1: White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said in
- 9:58Speaker 1: a statement. Now, if there's anything we should learn from
- 10:02Speaker 1: all of this, it's this number one, don't go to
- 10:04Speaker 1: countries like Russia. And there's some people saying, well, she
- 10:07Speaker 1: had no choice, that's a lie. They say, well, the
- 10:11Speaker 1: w NBA doesn't pay players enough so Britney Grinder was
- 10:14Speaker 1: forced to play in Russia to make enough money to survive.
- 10:18Speaker 1: That's also lie. She has great endorsement deals and she
- 10:21Speaker 1: was doing just fine financially. The problem when you take
- 10:24Speaker 1: money from the devil, which in this case is Russia,
- 10:27Speaker 1: you play by the devil's rules. Britney Grinder knew because
- 10:31Speaker 1: they'd all been briefed on what two and what not
- 10:34Speaker 1: to do in Russia, including that screwing around with stuff
- 10:37Speaker 1: like this drugs, the oil right, the THHC. These are
- 10:42Speaker 1: the things that she should have never have even thought
- 10:45Speaker 1: about taking with her or using in Russia. The Russians
- 10:49Speaker 1: are going to watch you the entire time you're there.
- 10:51Speaker 1: They're going to bug your phones, they're going to break
- 10:54Speaker 1: into your hotel room. They're going to put cameras in
- 10:56Speaker 1: your hotel room. They are going to monitor you twenty
- 10:59Speaker 1: four seven. That's what they do in Russia. It's very normal.
- 11:03Speaker 1: That's why they tell you to take an airlock computer
- 11:06Speaker 1: and take a different cell phone the one you want
- 11:08Speaker 1: to use and get back to America because it will
- 11:10Speaker 1: be hacked and they will be watching and following you
- 11:13Speaker 1: the entire time that you are there. They will never
- 11:16Speaker 1: stop watching you. Now, Kirby said, We've made a serious proposal,
- 11:22Speaker 1: and the question is are we giving up too much
- 11:25Speaker 1: for an American that made a mistake. I would argue
- 11:28Speaker 1: by even going to Russia to play and putting herself
- 11:31Speaker 1: ahead of her country in that decision, finance is ahead
- 11:33Speaker 1: of her safety and also breaking the rules while there.
- 11:37Speaker 1: And before I get into the second part of this,
- 11:38Speaker 1: want to remind you about our good friends over at
- 11:40Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile. If you've got a cell phone, you need
- 11:43Speaker 1: to switch to Patriot Mobile because they are America's only
- 11:46Speaker 1: Christian conservative mobile phone provider and they use the same
- 11:51Speaker 1: towers that you're using right now. Why do you want
- 11:54Speaker 1: to switch Because they are a force for conservative values.
- 11:58Speaker 1: They take a portion of your bill every month at
- 12:01Speaker 1: no extra cost to you, and they use that money
- 12:04Speaker 1: to fund conservative causes, to back conservative candidates who believe
- 12:09Speaker 1: in the sanctity of life, freedom of speech, the Second Amendment,
- 12:13Speaker 1: and they are winning big time. Patriot Mobile will save
- 12:17Speaker 1: you money as well over what you're spending right now.
- 12:20Speaker 1: They have affordable plans for not only you, but your
- 12:23Speaker 1: family and even your businesses. And they offer the same
- 12:27Speaker 1: exact nationwide coverage as the major carriers. If you're using
- 12:33Speaker 1: your phone every day, why not make a difference with
- 12:35Speaker 1: every phone call Switch to Patriot Mobile that support our
- 12:39Speaker 1: conservative values. Go to Patriotmobile dot com slash ferguson, Patriot
- 12:45Speaker 1: Mobile dot com slash ferguson, or call them nine to
- 12:48Speaker 1: seven to Patriot that's nine seven to Patriot You'll get
- 12:53Speaker 1: free activation with the offer code ben that's free activation
- 12:57Speaker 1: plus special discounts free activation and Patriotmobile dot com slash
- 13:02Speaker 1: ferguson or nine seven two. I want you to hear
- 13:06Speaker 1: what Kirby had to say about all of this, because
- 13:10Speaker 1: this is all obviously being done under the shadow of
- 13:13Speaker 1: the war in Ukraine. We have the mass graves that
- 13:16Speaker 1: have just been found the last forty eight hours. We
- 13:18Speaker 1: have the torture chambers that they have found in the
- 13:20Speaker 1: last forty eight hours that were being used by Russian
- 13:23Speaker 1: troops and the Ukrainian people. And if you put that
- 13:25Speaker 1: into perspective of what's happening over there compared to Britney Grinder,
- 13:29Speaker 1: part of you has to say, well, at least she's
- 13:31Speaker 1: safe in these jails in a sense, and we're seeing
- 13:35Speaker 1: pictures of her often take a listen to what Kirby
- 13:38Speaker 1: had to say on Grinder's possible return and a prisoner swap.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And with respect to Brittany Grinder, I mean, we have
- 13:45Speaker 1: laid down a serious proposal weeks ago and we are
- 13:49Speaker 1: still waiting on the Russia Russians to act on that.
- 13:52Speaker 1: We have made very clear and publicly so, which is
- 13:55Speaker 1: an unusual step. How much you're interested in furthering negotiations?
- 14:00Speaker 1: Sorry interrupted, I just want to pick on the pick
- 14:01Speaker 1: up on the Grinder thread. Do you still feel like
- 14:05Speaker 1: you're operating from a position of strength there now so
- 14:08Speaker 1: many you said, this deal's been on the table for
- 14:11Speaker 1: multiple weeks and still nothing's come to fruition. Well, the
- 14:15Speaker 1: fact that nothing's come to fruition is on the Russians,
- 14:18Speaker 1: it's not on the American side. We have made a
- 14:20Speaker 1: serious proposal. We're working on this very very hard, and
- 14:23Speaker 1: as far as we're concerned, negotiations will continue. We've made
- 14:26Speaker 1: it clear that we have an offer that we want
- 14:29Speaker 1: the Russians to take seriously. We want Brittany and Paul
- 14:32Speaker 1: home and again we're willing to keep talking to the
- 14:35Speaker 1: Russians about that. How do you assess the chances of
- 14:38Speaker 1: success there. It's hard. It's really hard to say here
- 14:43Speaker 1: as you and I are talking, Jillian, to give you
- 14:45Speaker 1: a percentage. What I can tell you is we're absolutely
- 14:49Speaker 1: devoted and dedicated to the task of finding a way
- 14:52Speaker 1: to being Brittany and Paul home back to their families,
- 14:55Speaker 1: their friends, her teammates, and we're willing to keep in
- 15:00Speaker 1: this discussion with the Russians, but it's got to be
- 15:02Speaker 1: a two way street. They got to be willing to
- 15:03Speaker 1: sit down and talk as well, and we hope that
- 15:06Speaker 1: given Minister Lavrov's comments today out in the Pacific region
- 15:11Speaker 1: where he said he was open to furthering these discussions,
- 15:15Speaker 1: we take that as a positive sign. We hope they're
- 15:17Speaker 1: sincere about that so we can actually affect this outcome.
- 15:20Speaker 1: It's kind of a bummer though, right that. I mean,
- 15:23Speaker 1: they waited to respond to the State Department's offer until
- 15:26Speaker 1: after Griner had already been sentenced to near about the
- 15:30Speaker 1: maximum prison time she was facing. Right Well, nobody wanted
- 15:35Speaker 1: to see that trial proceed, and certainly nobody wanted to
- 15:38Speaker 1: see her sentenced for the crime she didn't deserve to
- 15:41Speaker 1: be convicted of. I'll let the Russians speak for their
- 15:44Speaker 1: timeline and their actions. As I said, we made this
- 15:47Speaker 1: proposal weeks ago, well before her trial began, because we
- 15:51Speaker 1: want to get her home now. Now, If this trial,
- 15:54Speaker 1: as I said yesterday, if this trial and this sentencing
- 15:57Speaker 1: somehow and some form of their logic freeze them up
- 16:01Speaker 1: to negotiate more sincerely than so be it. Let's do it.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Let's get down to the table and let's figure this out.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Let's figure this out. This is part of the delusion
- 16:12Speaker 1: aspect of all this by I think this White House.
- 16:17Speaker 1: The Russians have no reason to want to figure this out.
- 16:21Speaker 1: The more we become obsessed, the more the media becomes obsessed,
- 16:24Speaker 1: the more the liberals become obsessed with this, with this
- 16:31Speaker 1: story with Britney Griner, the more valuable she is. And it's,
- 16:37Speaker 1: if nothing else, just the middle finger to the United
- 16:41Speaker 1: States of America from a country that loves giving the
- 16:44Speaker 1: finger to the United States of America. That's what this
- 16:49Speaker 1: is for them. And if we're smart, we just shut
- 16:53Speaker 1: up about Britney Griner. That's why I haven't talked about
- 16:55Speaker 1: her much. With this new sentence. Everybody's talking about her today,
- 16:58Speaker 1: and that's fine, we'll talk about her today. But that's it.
- 17:02Speaker 1: And if the Left wants to help Britney Grinder, don't
- 17:06Speaker 1: go to center court in an NBA game and demand
- 17:09Speaker 1: that Britney Grinder b let go. You may think that
- 17:13Speaker 1: you can fix this problem on a keyboard on Twitter,
- 17:18Speaker 1: you know, Instagram, right on Facebook, and you cannot. This
- 17:23Speaker 1: is not going to be fixed through some hashtag Brittany campaign. Okay,
- 17:28Speaker 1: that will not happen. And the sooner that they understand
- 17:33Speaker 1: this and realize that we have to at least act
- 17:36Speaker 1: like we've moved on past Brittany, the better the chances
- 17:40Speaker 1: are that they will then say, all right, find screw it,
- 17:42Speaker 1: let's do the prisoner squad because this arms dealer that
- 17:45Speaker 1: is very close to Russia. We want to get him
- 17:47Speaker 1: back at some point too. But right now the deal
- 17:50Speaker 1: is just too good. NBC News Big headline, Right now.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Russian court denies Britney Griner's appeal of nine year prison
- 17:57Speaker 1: sentence the w NBA Star War sentence after rush An
- 18:00Speaker 1: authority said she had vape cannisters with cannabis oil in
- 18:03Speaker 1: her luggage. A Russian court denied her appeal and upheld
- 18:09Speaker 1: that that charged nine year sentence on drug charges. Grinder
- 18:15Speaker 1: thirty two, looked sponded as she appeared at the hearing
- 18:18Speaker 1: in the Moscow Regional Court via video conference from the
- 18:21Speaker 1: detention center where she's been held since her rest in February.
- 18:27Speaker 1: The athlete is now expected to be moved to a
- 18:30Speaker 1: penal colony. Grinder's conviction in August was decried by the
- 18:35Speaker 1: United States, which is said the athletes is being wrong
- 18:38Speaker 1: fleet detained. I agree with that the denial of her
- 18:41Speaker 1: appeal was we'll see hopes of Grinder's release shift to
- 18:45Speaker 1: the potential for a high profile prisoner swap. And no
- 18:50Speaker 1: one should be shocked by what just happened, and that
- 18:53Speaker 1: maybe is the most important part of the show today.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Understand that this is exactly what you should have expected,
- 19:00Speaker 1: and this administration should have expected, and the Left needs
- 19:03Speaker 1: to get their heads out of the eard and understand
- 19:05Speaker 1: how Russia works. In a statement right out in court, Grinder,
- 19:09Speaker 1: a two time Olympic gold medalist who plays for the
- 19:11Speaker 1: Phoenix Mercury, said she did not intend to do this.
- 19:15Speaker 1: How do you and this is part of what I
- 19:17Speaker 1: don't understand. How do you claim that you don't intend
- 19:19Speaker 1: to do something when clearly you did intend to do
- 19:22Speaker 1: something right, I didn't intend to do it. Well, you're
- 19:25Speaker 1: the one that brought this with you, and you were
- 19:28Speaker 1: warned not to screw with Russia, not to give them
- 19:31Speaker 1: a reason, not to give them a single reason to say, okay, fine,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I'll do this. Right. That was the whole point here.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Don't give them a reason to stop you, don't give
- 19:45Speaker 1: them a reason to arrest you. And every athlete that
- 19:49Speaker 1: goes to Russia who takes this risk knows that. Folks,
- 19:53Speaker 1: they all know it. They're not stupid. Yet here we
- 19:58Speaker 1: are having this exact conversation right now, which drives me
- 20:01Speaker 1: totally insane. Wake up and understand how the world works.
- 20:10Speaker 1: She said she hoped it would be taken into account
- 20:12Speaker 1: that she did plead guilty in the case. The athlete
- 20:16Speaker 1: said she hope the court would adjust her sentence. The
- 20:19Speaker 1: w NBA star had been quite pessimistic about the outcome
- 20:22Speaker 1: of the appeal ahead of the hearing of One of
- 20:25Speaker 1: her attorneys said Grinder had held hope that there would
- 20:28Speaker 1: be a reduction to her sentence, but did not believe
- 20:30Speaker 1: the verdict would be overruled. Everybody's like, well, she's a
- 20:34Speaker 1: two time Olympic gold medalist who plays for the Phoenix Mercury.
- 20:38Speaker 1: She's famous. We should go get her. I don't think
- 20:42Speaker 1: we should treat her any differently than any other American
- 20:45Speaker 1: that did something this dumb in Russia. And does that
- 20:48Speaker 1: mean that we give up a guy who has done
- 20:52Speaker 1: a hell of a lot more damage and destruction to
- 20:55Speaker 1: the world and she's done. I mean, let's let's just
- 20:58Speaker 1: be real honest. I don't think that you go over
- 21:01Speaker 1: there and do a bad deal and this administration is
- 21:07Speaker 1: sitting there and they're like, oh my gosh, what do
- 21:09Speaker 1: we do? I don't know what to do. What do
- 21:10Speaker 1: we do right? How do we how do we do this?
- 21:15Speaker 1: I think what we do now is shut up. The
- 21:19Speaker 1: deal's on the table. Leave it alone. Joe Biden, he
- 21:24Speaker 1: did say this about Britney Griner at the White House.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I'm hopeful we're working hard. Can you give us a
- 21:36Speaker 1: comment on Britney Griner. I'm hopeful we're working hard. I
- 21:40Speaker 1: wouldn't even say that that doesn't help. I would just
- 21:47Speaker 1: say the State Department is doing what they need to do.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Leave it alone. Don't say I'm hopeful, because in the
- 21:53Speaker 1: Russians laugh in your face. Anything that they can say
- 21:58Speaker 1: to take away a victory from this White House and
- 22:00Speaker 1: to embarrass this White House. And part of this goes
- 22:03Speaker 1: down to an issue of weakness. They're embarrassing this present
- 22:07Speaker 1: and they're doing something they never would have done if
- 22:09Speaker 1: Donald Trump was still in office. Brittany Grinder would not
- 22:13Speaker 1: have been taken if Donald Trump was still the present
- 22:17Speaker 1: because they would have known that Donald Trump would have
- 22:19Speaker 1: actually responded. That's the problem. We have a weak present
- 22:24Speaker 1: that's getting screwed with. He gets lost on stage and
- 22:27Speaker 1: has to have the Easter Bunny bring him back to reality.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And when that's your leader, this is what you get. Now,
- 22:34Speaker 1: before I get into more of this story, I want
- 22:36Speaker 1: to say thank you and tell you about our good
- 22:38Speaker 1: friends at Legacy Precious Medals. If you're paying attention, you've
- 22:43Speaker 1: seen that the stock market has been plumbing. Many economists
- 22:46Speaker 1: are predicting this is just the beginning and we could
- 22:49Speaker 1: see a market pullback well into twenty twenty three. If
- 22:53Speaker 1: that happens, you're going to see tremendous losses in your portfolio.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Many of you have already seen those losses. That is
- 23:00Speaker 1: where there's an upside with gold. In the two thousand
- 23:03Speaker 1: and eight crash, when the market dipped gold win up.

- 23:15Speaker 1: of your retirement account or having physical medals shipped directly
- 23:18Speaker 1: to you. When it comes to your finances, you want
- 23:21Speaker 1: to act before it's too late be informed on your options.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Legacy Precious Medals expert team can answer all your questions.
- 23:29Speaker 1: So call Legacy Precious Medals today eight sixty six seven
- 23:35Speaker 1: five one two two one eight. That's eight six six
- 23:40Speaker 1: seven five one two to one eight, or you can
- 23:44Speaker 1: even download their comprehensive Gold guide at Legacy pm investments
- 23:50Speaker 1: dot com. I want to switch gears real quick to
- 23:53Speaker 1: another really important story, and this could be for the
- 23:56Speaker 1: control of the United States Senate, whether it goes to
- 23:58Speaker 1: Republicans of the Democrats. There is a race that I'm
- 24:01Speaker 1: very concerned about in Utah and it's a race that
- 24:04Speaker 1: could decide if Democrats control the Senate or not. There
- 24:07Speaker 1: is a guy who ran for president by the name
- 24:10Speaker 1: of Evan McMullan. He is the candidate from the deep state,
- 24:14Speaker 1: from the swamp, from the corruption, from the Peter Struck
- 24:17Speaker 1: error who is running to beat Mike Lee, and he's
- 24:21Speaker 1: running on behalf of the deep state and the powerful
- 24:24Speaker 1: interest to do that. Now what they're doing, and Mike
- 24:27Speaker 1: Lean needs our help. So if you have family or
- 24:29Speaker 1: friends in Utah, you need to tell them what's going on.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Number one, and number two, if you can help Mike
- 24:34Speaker 1: Lee with fundraising. He desperately needs our support because this
- 24:38Speaker 1: could be literally the control of the Senate and the
- 24:42Speaker 1: race that this comes down to. Now, Evan McMullan and
- 24:45Speaker 1: the Democrats were very smart. They know that a Democrat
- 24:48Speaker 1: was not going to get elected and Utah. Evan McMullan
- 24:54Speaker 1: is a guy that can say, hey, I was once
- 24:56Speaker 1: a Republican and now I'm quoting independent and that's how
- 24:59Speaker 1: they're running him. Now, Utah elections are different than the
- 25:02Speaker 1: rest of the country. They have state a convention and
- 25:04Speaker 1: all this other stuff they do on the front end.
- 25:06Speaker 1: It's very different than the traditional way that we get
- 25:09Speaker 1: elect people in this country. But they've figured out how
- 25:12Speaker 1: to basically exist in a state and give a guy
- 25:15Speaker 1: a chance to win by claiming as an independent when
- 25:18Speaker 1: in reality he's clearly a Democrat. There's an article that
- 25:23Speaker 1: was written by Ben Dominich, who has put together kind
- 25:26Speaker 1: of the history of this guy, and I want to
- 25:28Speaker 1: read part of it for you. Many Republican observers of
- 25:32Speaker 1: the Utah Senate race haven't noted that Evan mcmullan's obviously
- 25:37Speaker 1: false claims at anything approaching ideological conservatism. But it strikes
- 25:43Speaker 1: me that this is the wrong understanding of the bald
- 25:47Speaker 1: Mormon CIA agent who seeks to unseat constitutional conservative center
- 25:52Speaker 1: Mike Lee. McMullan is more properly understood as a deep
- 25:58Speaker 1: state plant who represent the in interests of the likes
- 26:02Speaker 1: of Peter Struck if elected by voters, apparently unaware of
- 26:07Speaker 1: his completely fictionalized position. Matrix I interviewed McMullan when he
- 26:13Speaker 1: was running against Donald Trump as a quote principled conservative
- 26:18Speaker 1: hoping to twist Utah into the Democratic column and drive
- 26:23Speaker 1: the twenty sixteen presidential stakes into the Congress. Bill Crystal
- 26:29Speaker 1: had a lot of crazy ideas about this. Back in
- 26:31Speaker 1: the day, people deal with grief and loss in different ways,
- 26:35Speaker 1: the author writes in parentheses. Now, at the time, McMullan
- 26:39Speaker 1: claimed to be a tried and true conservative on abortion,
- 26:44Speaker 1: on guns, federalism, taxes, you name it. He took the
- 26:48Speaker 1: position of eighty to ninety percent of conservative voters on
- 26:51Speaker 1: every question. It was well rehearsed, but it was obviously rehearsed.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Dig any deeper and you can tell the man was
- 27:01Speaker 1: reciting lines instead of telling the truth. Mcmolan ultimately failed
- 27:06Speaker 1: in his endeavor. He still owes more than half a
- 27:10Speaker 1: million in debt for that extremely silly campaign for president.
- 27:16Speaker 1: But he didn't stop there. He then tried to integrate
- 27:20Speaker 1: himself to the American resistance quote unquote the resistance right
- 27:25Speaker 1: hashtag resistance. In every aspect, he now spews the talking
- 27:31Speaker 1: points of Crystal's Bulwark publication, creating a veneer of cliche
- 27:38Speaker 1: Republicanism that seems more at home on the broadcast TV dramas.
- 27:44Speaker 1: What is mcmollan lying about that he's a Straussian or
- 27:48Speaker 1: that he's any good at it? Since his embarrassing, costly
- 27:54Speaker 1: and fanciful attempt to block Donald Trump in twenty sixteen,
- 27:58Speaker 1: the libertarian Kennet did six times better. McMullan has since
- 28:03Speaker 1: found fit to do what is necessary to achieve a
- 28:05Speaker 1: shot at a Senate seat in Utah. This includes rejiggering
- 28:11Speaker 1: his poll tested talking points, literally marrying a woman with
- 28:15Speaker 1: kids from a prior marriage, and sucking up to the
- 28:18Speaker 1: mit Romney machine, which mit once Mike Lee gone, but
- 28:22Speaker 1: without their fingerprints on any of it, because they can't
- 28:26Speaker 1: stand him. And as you know, Mitt Romney's the other
- 28:28Speaker 1: center from Utah. Just to remind you of that, there
- 28:32Speaker 1: is something deeply odd about the way in which the
- 28:34Speaker 1: least serious members of the media seemed so eager to
- 28:38Speaker 1: embrace the hairless men with obviously false slogans as champions
- 28:43Speaker 1: against Trump and Trump is m whether Michael Avanati or
- 28:47Speaker 1: Evan McMullan, such men can never be trusted. But what's
- 28:51Speaker 1: perhaps more disturbing about a Utah voter even considering a
- 28:55Speaker 1: vote from Mullin Overlea, is that the former's entire history
- 28:59Speaker 1: is of loyalty to the deep State and all its work.
- 29:04Speaker 1: He will be immediately distrusted if sent to the Senate
- 29:08Speaker 1: sideline from conferences. Incapable of working for committees or moving legislation,
- 29:15Speaker 1: he exists merely to remove Mike Lee, which is apparently
- 29:19Speaker 1: something certain people want. Obviously, Ben is referring to the
- 29:25Speaker 1: deep State. He goes on to say Utah might as
- 29:28Speaker 1: well elect Peter Struck to the Senate and cut out
- 29:31Speaker 1: the middleman. If you're going to be a demonstration of
- 29:36Speaker 1: failure of the American deep state, you should own it
- 29:40Speaker 1: to the hilt. Now, this article is one I would
- 29:43Speaker 1: tell you, and I put it out on Twitter, that
- 29:45Speaker 1: you need to share on social media. It's an article
- 29:48Speaker 1: that every person in Utah needs to read, especially if
- 29:53Speaker 1: you're trying to side between this scumbag on the left
- 29:57Speaker 1: who's acting like a Republican, Evan McMullen, and Mike Lee.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Mike Lee is this is a way tighter race than
- 30:04Speaker 1: it should ever have been. Now, I hope that some
- 30:08Speaker 1: of the pollsters are just flat out wrong. Their concerned
- 30:11Speaker 1: that Mike Lee genuinely could lose this race. And part
- 30:14Speaker 1: of this, now I wouldn't say part of it, I
- 30:16Speaker 1: would say all of it comes down to Mitt Romney.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Mitt Romney's team has had their hands all up in
- 30:23Speaker 1: the McMullan race. They wanted McMullan, they've helped McMullan, they
- 30:27Speaker 1: recruited McMullan, they redesigned McMullan, and they did it because
- 30:31Speaker 1: they couldn't stand that Mike Lee was a principal conservative
- 30:35Speaker 1: who supported defended him back to Donald Trump. They can't
- 30:38Speaker 1: stand that he's dear friends with someone like, for example,
- 30:41Speaker 1: Ted Cruz. They can't stand the fact that he actually
- 30:44Speaker 1: will do the right thing and that he hasn't gone
- 30:49Speaker 1: along with Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney also believes that he
- 30:52Speaker 1: is the dictator and the tyrant of the state of Utah.
- 30:55Speaker 1: And when you have a guy like Mike Lee that
- 30:57Speaker 1: doesn't stand behind you but goes out and does his
- 30:59Speaker 1: own thing, well, then that's obviously a threat to Mitt Romney.
- 31:04Speaker 1: And Mitt Romney is now wanting him to pay. Mitt
- 31:07Speaker 1: Romney has got his hands in all of this. Now,
- 31:10Speaker 1: if you like Mitt Romney, then please vote for McMullen.
- 31:14Speaker 1: But if you can't stand Mit Romney, because it's a
- 31:16Speaker 1: hardcore lefty now, and that's what he is. So let's
- 31:19Speaker 1: not act like he's anything but that he is a
- 31:22Speaker 1: hard core lefty. Okay, I'm gonna say it again. He's
- 31:26Speaker 1: a hardcore lefty. He's an anti Trump person. He hates
- 31:30Speaker 1: every person that voted for Donald Trump. He was in
- 31:32Speaker 1: favor of impeaching the president of the United States America,
- 31:35Speaker 1: and he's in favor of allowing Hunter and James and
- 31:38Speaker 1: Joe Biden to get away with all of their corruption.
- 31:41Speaker 1: That is exactly why now he has decided to do this,
- 31:47Speaker 1: to go after somebody in his own party to get
- 31:49Speaker 1: rid of them. Now. This also, and again, the reason
- 31:52Speaker 1: why Romney's campaign doesn't want you to know what they've
- 31:55Speaker 1: been doing, right or his team, is because they can't
- 31:58Speaker 1: publicly come out and say, Hey, as a Republican, I'm
- 32:01Speaker 1: going to back a guy that's a liberal Democrat at
- 32:04Speaker 1: masquerading as an independent. But that's exactly what they have
- 32:08Speaker 1: been doing behind the scenes. This is their entire objective.
- 32:14Speaker 1: We also know one other thing. mLAN has said he
- 32:17Speaker 1: will not caucus with the Republicans or the Democrats, meaning
- 32:22Speaker 1: that if it comes down to basically the equivalent of
- 32:24Speaker 1: a tie, he will not support the Republicans, and that
- 32:28Speaker 1: means by default he will support the Democrats retaining control
- 32:32Speaker 1: of the Senate. Do I believe that it could come
- 32:36Speaker 1: down to this race? Yes, That's why I'm putting it
- 32:39Speaker 1: on everybody's radar screen. People ask me all the time, like, hey,
- 32:43Speaker 1: who needs my help? Where can I help? Well, this
- 32:45Speaker 1: race in Utah is a place and a race that
- 32:48Speaker 1: you need to get involved in if you can give money.
- 32:52Speaker 1: And I mean rarely have I said give money to
- 32:55Speaker 1: a certain candidate, but I will one hundred percent say this.
- 32:59Speaker 1: If you can get to Muckley's campaign, do it. But
- 33:02Speaker 1: even if you can't, then at least take the article
- 33:06Speaker 1: that I just shared and I just read to you
- 33:09Speaker 1: and put it out there on every social media account
- 33:11Speaker 1: that you have and address it to the people of Utah.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Tell people, if you know anybody in Utah, send them
- 33:18Speaker 1: this article. The other thing is you can grab the
- 33:21Speaker 1: podcast and you can share it. If you have family
- 33:24Speaker 1: or friends in Utah, share it with them. Because if
- 33:27Speaker 1: we lose the Senate because of this race, because of
- 33:30Speaker 1: this deep Stater, and make no mistake, he will not
- 33:36Speaker 1: serve on these committees. He will be an outsider because
- 33:39Speaker 1: everybody knows he's a spy for the deep State. And
- 33:43Speaker 1: that's exactly, by the way, why I met Romney wants
- 33:45Speaker 1: him there. Okay, I'm just telling you right now, this
- 33:49Speaker 1: is a hundred percent why this is happening. All right,
- 33:54Speaker 1: make sure that you share this podcast. Please write us,
- 33:56Speaker 1: say five star review, and I will see you back
- 33:59Speaker 1: here tomorrow.
