- 1:24Speaker 1: my next guests. She's on the phone out of Dallas, Texas.
- 1:28Speaker 1: She's a I'm a text so she's a Texas so
- 1:30Speaker 1: you know, got a little love there. She's a she's
- 1:32Speaker 1: in Dallas. Dallas is like a little bit more cowboy hatwining,
- 1:36Speaker 1: a little bit more texts and driven, you know, whereas
- 1:39Speaker 1: um Houston little bit more cosmopolitan. You know. Really, look,
- 1:43Speaker 1: they five a little bit different down there. We live
- 1:45Speaker 1: better addresses now Texas. But she she's going, she goes
- 1:49Speaker 1: straighten me out when I get on the car, when
- 1:50Speaker 1: I bring up my next Gus is the founder and
- 1:52Speaker 1: CEO of Mind Your Business. She is a highly sought
- 1:56Speaker 1: after digital marketing brand and social media strategist that has
- 2:00Speaker 1: helped organizations large and small implement strategies to elevate their
- 2:04Speaker 1: digital presence. She has an industry expert dedicated to share
- 2:08Speaker 1: knowledge that helps organizations from all industries solidified the foundation
- 2:13Speaker 1: that business are built on and when the digital marketing space,
- 2:17Speaker 1: which is really important today. She's the author of Lights,
- 2:21Speaker 1: Camera Action, Get Your Brand on Television, The Social Media Makeover,
- 2:25Speaker 1: and Go Ye Into the world Wide Web. Please Welcome
- 2:30Speaker 1: to Money Making Conversations. Tisha Holman, Good morning, Good morning, TSA.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Go ye into all the world wide Where? What does
- 2:44Speaker 1: that mean? What does that mean? We go ye? Because
- 2:47Speaker 1: we're only world wide where we're out there. There's just
- 2:49Speaker 1: struggling in the world Wide Web. Sometimes I don't know
- 2:51Speaker 1: what we're doing in there and giving that information we
- 2:54Speaker 1: shouldn't be given out that there? Why did you write
- 2:56Speaker 1: that book? So go into all the world? What web?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Was really inspired by Mark sixteen fifteen description beings have
- 3:06Speaker 1: taken on a new connotation when it comes to going
- 3:10Speaker 1: into all the world to spread the gospel to every creature.
- 3:14Speaker 1: If ministries are going to make an impact on the
- 3:16Speaker 1: next generation, they're gonna have to change the way they
- 3:19Speaker 1: seek to reach them in today's digital marketplace. And so
- 3:23Speaker 1: I wrote Gogie into All the world Wide Web to
- 3:26Speaker 1: help ministries develop strengths and practical application from the tangibles
- 3:32Speaker 1: that are required to do the work. You need people,
- 3:34Speaker 1: you need resources, you need tools, you need a plan.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But also to help them keep in mind that for
- 3:41Speaker 1: a ministry, the deliberables are a little bit different than
- 3:44Speaker 1: they are in the world. Because they're deliverable is winning
- 3:47Speaker 1: an impacting soul for the kingdom. And so I also
- 3:50Speaker 1: discussed principles that ministries can use to keep the main
- 3:53Speaker 1: thing the main thing, which is reaching God's people as
- 3:55Speaker 1: they apply the practical to the work. Wow, so you
- 4:00Speaker 1: I know you did a big project with Bishop T. D.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Jake's correct. Yes, yes, yes, I used to look with
- 4:06Speaker 1: the Potter's House, explained to explain that your involvement in
- 4:09Speaker 1: his project, the Sore Project. Well, so I used to
- 4:13Speaker 1: be a part of the digital marketing social media team
- 4:16Speaker 1: with the Potter's House. And while I was with the
- 4:19Speaker 1: Potter's House, I had the pleasure to be a part
- 4:22Speaker 1: of developing digital strategy and campaigns um that went behind
- 4:26Speaker 1: promoting his last book, so as well as other projects
- 4:30Speaker 1: that he did the movie with Lifetime UM being various
- 4:33Speaker 1: projects on TV and UM the Word UH Network, and
- 4:37Speaker 1: so you know, it was really awesome opportunity of great
- 4:40Speaker 1: experience to be able to propel some of those campaigns
- 4:44Speaker 1: that went around the world a couple of times, touching
- 4:46Speaker 1: hearts to winning souls for God. It's one of my
- 4:49Speaker 1: favorite books. I had him on the show last year
- 4:50Speaker 1: when it came out and he was doing a big
- 4:52Speaker 1: event in Atlanta, and so when he did my show,
- 4:55Speaker 1: I was told, my I'm very impressed. One of the
- 4:57Speaker 1: better written books about how to di your life together.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Because you know, I didn't know as much that his
- 5:04Speaker 1: family was as much entrepreneurs as they were that was
- 5:08Speaker 1: exposed to be in that book. That really made a
- 5:10Speaker 1: difference on how I looked at him, because they told
- 5:12Speaker 1: me where he got his drive from. You know, because
- 5:15Speaker 1: everybody sees him as a minister and so and then
- 5:18Speaker 1: and then you can get pigeonholed into that being a minister.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But when you read that book, Sore, it really lets
- 5:24Speaker 1: you understand where his values are and why you should
- 5:27Speaker 1: actually listen to this young man when you're talking about
- 5:30Speaker 1: entrepreneurship because he his whole structure from his mom and
- 5:34Speaker 1: dad was built on entrepreneurship, right right, right, It was
- 5:38Speaker 1: a great book for sure. Let's talk about you because
- 5:40Speaker 1: you have a book that you're gonna do a book
- 5:42Speaker 1: signing this Saturday at Jon's Creek Book and Gifts and
- 5:45Speaker 1: John's Creek, Georgian. And I just wanted that. You know,
- 5:48Speaker 1: that's the near my neighborhood down in Alfada's four hundred North.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Take exit ten and you'll be right there in John's Creek. Now,
- 5:55Speaker 1: why are you at that bookstore? My friend? You're from Dallas, Texas.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Why are you John's Creek Bookstore? Just asking because guess what,
- 6:02Speaker 1: I want to drive as many people there, because are
- 6:04Speaker 1: you in other places around the country? Are just Saturday
- 6:06Speaker 1: year at this location? May For so, I'm actually a
- 6:10Speaker 1: California native. I just live in Dallas right now, Okay,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and so yes, and so before I lived in Dallas,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I lived in Atlanta for a while. And so as
- 6:19Speaker 1: I am touring spreading the word about the social media
- 6:23Speaker 1: makeover and about Gogie into all the world wide web,
- 6:26Speaker 1: you know, some of the first stops on my book
- 6:28Speaker 1: tour are places that were home for me at once.
- 6:31Speaker 1: So that's why I'm coming back home to the A
- 6:33Speaker 1: t l H to to share my latest projects with
- 6:37Speaker 1: folks there, because I know that the information I have
- 6:40Speaker 1: to share can really help entrepreneurs and ministry to like
- 6:44Speaker 1: elevate and amplify what they do online. Really, it's really
- 6:47Speaker 1: important that you you know, I've I did a tour
- 6:50Speaker 1: with Kurk Franklin and there is a could I use
- 6:54Speaker 1: the word niche marketing, niche audience out there that you
- 6:57Speaker 1: have to really tap into if you're trying to find
- 6:59Speaker 1: that all And that's what you're saying that you can
- 7:02Speaker 1: make available with your book, go Ye into all the world? Why? Well,
- 7:06Speaker 1: is that focusing focusing your audience, focusing on your artists
- 7:10Speaker 1: and finding your artists through the through the web of
- 7:13Speaker 1: and social media, that's what you're saying, correct, Well, definitely,
- 7:17Speaker 1: And it goes to what I talk about how organizations
- 7:20Speaker 1: need to position themselves to become a brand and demand.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Great brands are the answer to somebody's problem. And they're
- 7:26Speaker 1: not just the answer to somebody's problem, they're the best
- 7:29Speaker 1: answer to somebody's problem. And so as you touched on,
- 7:32Speaker 1: you know, I have the opportunity to sort of the
- 7:34Speaker 1: Potter's House, but I've also had the opportunity to help
- 7:37Speaker 1: what we might call a storefront church do this work
- 7:40Speaker 1: as well. And there are some commonalities that I see
- 7:43Speaker 1: in helping smaller congregations all the way everything in between,
- 7:47Speaker 1: all the way up to the Maga's Church, and I
- 7:49Speaker 1: helped other mega churches as well besides the Potter's House.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Is that there is an untapped, missed opportunity that ministries
- 7:58Speaker 1: have to really leverage what the content that they're sitting
- 8:02Speaker 1: on and really what the power of their ministry is
- 8:04Speaker 1: to go out and reach people. And so I want
- 8:06Speaker 1: to be the answer to that problem, if you will.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I want to be able to stand in that gap
- 8:11Speaker 1: between ministries reaching people and growing their ministries through their
- 8:16Speaker 1: digital platforms. And I really know and believe that go
- 8:19Speaker 1: into all the world Wide Web is the ticket to
- 8:23Speaker 1: standing in the gap and helping ministries change how they
- 8:25Speaker 1: reach sold. Now, when you do book signings, do you
- 8:28Speaker 1: sign or you do you speak, or you read from
- 8:31Speaker 1: your book or you take Q and a's your book signing?
- 8:33Speaker 1: How does that work? And she will be at the
- 8:36Speaker 1: John's Creek book signing this Saturday, from two pm to
- 8:39Speaker 1: four pm and joint, which is, like I said, part
- 8:42Speaker 1: of Alpharetta. Just take uh four hundred north, take extrait
- 8:46Speaker 1: in make a right turn, take you right onto John's Creek.
- 8:50Speaker 1: So I do a little bit of everything. I really
- 8:52Speaker 1: like my book signings to be interactive. I love the
- 8:55Speaker 1: opportunity that I get to meet new people and touch
- 8:58Speaker 1: the audience and answer in the into a question. So
- 9:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna read a little bit, I'm gonna talk a
- 9:02Speaker 1: little bit. I'm there to ask questions as well sign books. Well,
- 9:07Speaker 1: it's great. When I come back, I want to ask
- 9:09Speaker 1: you questions about the social media makeover because I may
- 9:12Speaker 1: need to make over because I'm confused. I got all
- 9:15Speaker 1: these brands out there. I'm a baker, I'm a motivator,
- 9:18Speaker 1: I managed talent. I'm the CMO the Air National Guard.
- 9:22Speaker 1: So who is Rashan McDonald? How do you take a
- 9:25Speaker 1: guy like me that it's so versatile, but so confused
- 9:29Speaker 1: because he's talking to so many different people. So I
- 9:31Speaker 1: need I need a social media makeover. When I come back,
- 9:33Speaker 1: We're gonna talk more with Miss Tita Holman Trade Dallas,
- 9:37Speaker 1: Texas by way of California, Home Growing Atlanta Girl coming
- 9:41Speaker 1: back this Saturday. Rashan mcgonald is trying to change people's
- 9:47Speaker 1: lives with money making conversations. That's why I really appreciate
- 9:51Speaker 1: everybody who comes on my show, especially ms Holman h
- 9:55Speaker 1: on my LinkedIn, she says she was very excited to
- 9:58Speaker 1: come on my show. So I was very excited to
- 10:00Speaker 1: see that she was very excited because I like for
- 10:02Speaker 1: people to feel there is value coming on my show
- 10:05Speaker 1: because I take what I've learned and I try to
- 10:07Speaker 1: share with my listeners and my viewers, and I try
- 10:10Speaker 1: to bring experts on like her, and she's an expert
- 10:13Speaker 1: where all our craft, crafted a very outstanding career in
- 10:17Speaker 1: the field of digital and social media. Now it's Hooleman,
- 10:23Speaker 1: Mind your business? How does one find you? How does
- 10:27Speaker 1: is it through relationships? Are you market yourself? How did
- 10:30Speaker 1: how does that happen? Oh? So you know interestingly enough.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Um I started out my career in the events industry.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Um I used to uh, design, plan and produce events
- 10:44Speaker 1: of all kinds, and my skill set in the area
- 10:47Speaker 1: of digital marketing, branding, and strategy started with me figuring
- 10:52Speaker 1: out how to put myself out there as a new entrepreneur.
- 10:55Speaker 1: By degrees in organizational communications, but I still had to
- 10:59Speaker 1: figure out ways to take my marketing efforts to a
- 11:02Speaker 1: deeper level and find ways to differentiate myself in a
- 11:06Speaker 1: very saturated industry. And so that's how Mind your Business
- 11:09Speaker 1: was born. The pendulum swung and do full time. That's
- 11:15Speaker 1: it's within my heart and it's not through relationships. You
- 11:19Speaker 1: can find me anywhere. I'm available to train, consult and
- 11:22Speaker 1: help anybody develop strategy and even manage um digital marketing
- 11:27Speaker 1: things for people, website, social media, email, all of that.
- 11:30Speaker 1: So Mind your Business LLC dot com that's how you
- 11:32Speaker 1: find me in the same on all social platforms. That
- 11:36Speaker 1: is correct. Now, what is a social media makeover? I
- 11:39Speaker 1: was joking about really lovely joking because I do a
- 11:42Speaker 1: lot of different things. Uh, I'm award winning baker, UM,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I managed talent. Steven A. Smith is one of my
- 11:49Speaker 1: clients ESPN. I also have Money Making Conversation, very popular podcasts.
- 11:55Speaker 1: So I was in the airport just they walked over
- 11:58Speaker 1: and she said, excuse me, Uh are you that comedian? As? Yes?
- 12:04Speaker 1: You also bake right yeah, she said, can you use
- 12:07Speaker 1: to manage Steve Hart? As? He yes? So you know
- 12:11Speaker 1: when you when you have all these different layers. How
- 12:14Speaker 1: does a person kind of like um identify who who
- 12:18Speaker 1: he is? Who when you when you're talking to clients,
- 12:21Speaker 1: Because I'm sure you have a lot of clients like
- 12:22Speaker 1: me who was trying to figure out how to post
- 12:25Speaker 1: because one of you know what you say is just
- 12:26Speaker 1: don't post, to be posting posting to build your brand. Correct,
- 12:31Speaker 1: That's correct. And so the biggest thing is that I
- 12:34Speaker 1: call it a social media makeover is because in the
- 12:37Speaker 1: in my work, I have found that most businesses know
- 12:41Speaker 1: that they need to have a digital presence, a social
- 12:43Speaker 1: media presence, but they haven't developed it strategically. So they're
- 12:47Speaker 1: just really nearly haphazardly posting out there without a plan.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And having that strategy as the foundation of the work
- 12:54Speaker 1: that you're doing in the digital space, it's how you're
- 12:56Speaker 1: going to be successful, right, studn't start your business without
- 12:59Speaker 1: a business, and so you also need a marketing plan
- 13:02Speaker 1: for your digital presence. And so for my clients who
- 13:06Speaker 1: are like you who do a lot of things, I
- 13:08Speaker 1: find that it's very important that you develop client personas
- 13:13Speaker 1: and understand who your core and target audience is very
- 13:16Speaker 1: clearly because you don't want to serve your audience a
- 13:19Speaker 1: salad when they wanted a cheeseburger, right, And so you
- 13:22Speaker 1: know that your audience is going to be very diverse
- 13:25Speaker 1: because of the various facets of business that you operate on.
- 13:28Speaker 1: You know that one of your client personas is going
- 13:31Speaker 1: to be the entrepreneur, the person who's interested in the
- 13:35Speaker 1: things that you talk about on money making conversations. But
- 13:38Speaker 1: then you know that you're also going to kind of
- 13:40Speaker 1: tap in a different lane of people because of the banking.
- 13:44Speaker 1: There could be some overlap there, but ultimately, food enthusiasts
- 13:48Speaker 1: are going to be the core persona for the other
- 13:52Speaker 1: part that you do. So you can still have all
- 13:55Speaker 1: of the different things that you do in one place.
- 13:57Speaker 1: If you're a multifaceted organization, just make sure that the
- 14:01Speaker 1: messaging is clear and it's on brand, and it's consistent
- 14:04Speaker 1: and they can still all live in the same place. Well,
- 14:07Speaker 1: that's what I struggled with. I've struggled with that. I've
- 14:09Speaker 1: struggled with with trying to identify who I am with
- 14:14Speaker 1: who I'm talking to because of the fact that I
- 14:17Speaker 1: have Twitter account, I have a Instagram, a Crown, and
- 14:20Speaker 1: my largest accounts of my Facebook account I don't have Snapchat.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I do have LinkedIn, So those are four accounts like
- 14:26Speaker 1: I linked as my favorite because I used that to
- 14:28Speaker 1: really build my brand within the industry. So tell us
- 14:31Speaker 1: about each platform and what value does each platform. When
- 14:34Speaker 1: I said the platform and talking about LinkedIn, trom on Instagram,
- 14:37Speaker 1: talking about Twitter, I'm talking about Facebook. What value does
- 14:40Speaker 1: that bring to you or to an individual who trying
- 14:43Speaker 1: to develop their brand. We'll see. The beauty of the
- 14:47Speaker 1: various social media platforms is that it really allows you
- 14:51Speaker 1: to speak to your audience in various ways. You may
- 14:54Speaker 1: develop a persona a target poor client profile, but that
- 14:59Speaker 1: doesn't mean that person is only going to hang out
- 15:01Speaker 1: on Facebook or they're only going to hang out on Instagram.
- 15:04Speaker 1: People have they have diverse ways that they like to
- 15:08Speaker 1: receive content. So I may be your target client, but
- 15:11Speaker 1: I may lean on Instagram or lean on LinkedIn just
- 15:14Speaker 1: because of my lifestyle or because I prefer pictures over
- 15:19Speaker 1: links to articles, different things like that. And this is
- 15:21Speaker 1: where happen that strategy comes in because every platform has value.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I run into a lot of businesses who that they
- 15:28Speaker 1: may say, oh, I'm only on Facebook and Twitter because
- 15:31Speaker 1: that's where my client is no, You're you're missing opportunities
- 15:35Speaker 1: not putting yourself everywhere you can be. You're missing out
- 15:38Speaker 1: on search engine optimization opportunities as well as just tapping
- 15:42Speaker 1: into new new potential client basis in various places. So
- 15:47Speaker 1: we know that LinkedIn is a more B two B platform,
- 15:51Speaker 1: so that's a great place for you to connect with
- 15:52Speaker 1: others in your industry and strengthen and develop strategic partnership.
- 15:57Speaker 1: We know that Instagram is highly visual, so anything that
- 16:00Speaker 1: you're posting on Instagram is going to have to have
- 16:03Speaker 1: high res images, strong impactful video content as well as
- 16:08Speaker 1: really perfect the art of digital storytelling because that's a
- 16:13Speaker 1: trend for is being able to tell a story and
- 16:16Speaker 1: have people connect with your brand through storytelling. We know
- 16:20Speaker 1: that Facebook is a challenge for many business owners because
- 16:24Speaker 1: many fight um the algorithms and and trying to determine
- 16:27Speaker 1: how to get their their content before their audience. But
- 16:31Speaker 1: you know that you can leverage things like going live
- 16:34Speaker 1: and um communities and groups to strengthen your your your
- 16:38Speaker 1: content on on Facebook and then with Twitter. Twitter can
- 16:42Speaker 1: kind of be a tricky beast sometimes as well, but
- 16:45Speaker 1: there are opportunities to um hash tag effectively and and
- 16:49Speaker 1: be consistent with the type of content that you post.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Their link to your blog articles, cross promote on your
- 16:56Speaker 1: other platforms, and really they all work together for your
- 16:59Speaker 1: good the end of the day. Another place to not
- 17:02Speaker 1: sleep on is a YouTube. YouTube is the highest searched
- 17:07Speaker 1: place after Google, and so to not place your content
- 17:10Speaker 1: on YouTube is a huge missed opportunity, especially like this,
- 17:15Speaker 1: this live broadcast of money making conversations. You should be
- 17:18Speaker 1: also sharing this on a YouTube channel to reach a
- 17:21Speaker 1: greater audience as well. So it's just about maximizing each
- 17:25Speaker 1: platform for the individual value that it has and making
- 17:28Speaker 1: the most of what you can do in that space
- 17:30Speaker 1: to connect with your audience in an impactful way. Well,
- 17:33Speaker 1: they say social media is a marathon, not a race.
- 17:36Speaker 1: When they say that, is it because they are telling
- 17:38Speaker 1: you just just don't expect to go viral with every
- 17:42Speaker 1: post that you have, uh to have a thousand likes
- 17:45Speaker 1: every time you post a video or image. Is that's
- 17:49Speaker 1: what That's what you mean when you say it's a
- 17:51Speaker 1: marathon not a race. So, interestingly enough, kind of how
- 17:55Speaker 1: Michael Eally alluded to earlier, people get caught up in
- 17:59Speaker 1: this whole idea of social comparison, and as they see
- 18:02Speaker 1: that somebody else in their industry or appear has all
- 18:06Speaker 1: of these followers, all of these likes, people get discouraged.
