Jesus came to give us spiritual life. He is pleased when his life flows through us, making us alive, healthy and fruitful! But we can become "spiritually independent" - thinking that we have our own spirituality and forgetting that Jesus is the only source of spiritual life. Or we can become dependent on ministers and leaders, seeking to draw spiritual life from them instead of from Jesus. If this happens, we can become religious, but spiritually dead.
