- 0:00It's my moment. Turn in your
- 0:02Bibles. Come on. You got your Bibles
- 0:05with you? Lift them up. Let's get ready
- 0:07to make our confession of faith. Come
- 0:08on. Say, "This is my Bible." This is my
- 0:10Bible. It is God's word. It is God's
- 0:12word. It reveals to me. It reveals to me
- 0:14God's will. God's will. Therefore,
- 0:17therefore, it is the final authority the
- 0:19final authority to which I submit to
- 0:21which I submit to settle all the issues
- 0:24all the issues of my life of my life. It
- 0:26is the standard of my conduct. And the
- 0:30basis of all my expectations.
- 0:33Shout it out. I am. I am. What it says I
- 0:36am. It says I am. I possess. I possess
- 0:39what it says I possess. Says I and I can
- 0:42do. I can do. Absolutely everything.
- 0:44Absolutely everything it says I can do.
- 0:47Turn and tell your neighbor I know
- 0:48that's right. I know that's right. All
- 0:51right. All right. So, we are in our
- 0:54series on being covenant conscious
- 0:57financially.
- 0:58We want to be covenant conscious. Not
- 1:01just to shout.
- 1:03Amen. But we want to be that way
- 1:05financially.
- 1:07Okay. So, we began our series and you're
- 1:09going to 2 Kings chapter 6. But we began
- 1:12our series in Deuteronomy 8:18 that
- 1:15says, "It's the Lord that gives us the
- 1:17power to get wealth that he may
- 1:19establish his covenant in the earth."
- 1:22Yes. Huh. Then Proverbs 227 told us the
- 1:26rich rule over the poor and the borrower
- 1:29is servant to the lender. So what we
- 1:32said was we need to check our attitude,
- 1:36our alignment and our awareness.
- 1:40All right. We need an attitude that God
- 1:43wants us blessed.
- 1:45God wants you to have go. This is not
- 1:48go. Having just enough when it is not a
- 1:51survival time or wartime is to be
- 1:54selfish.
- 1:56I just need just enough. The devil is a
- 1:58lie. You don't want more so you can help
- 2:00somebody. You don't want to check in
- 2:02down on your family, your neighbors. You
- 2:04don't care nothing about that. No, no,
- 2:06no, no, no. I have to change my
- 2:08attitude. I not I got to move from not
- 2:10enough. Move from just enough to more
- 2:13than enough. Amen. And I need to make
- 2:16that an attitude change. What kind of
- 2:18change? Attitude. Because remember, if
- 2:21you only do change behavior but not your
- 2:24belief, if you only change habit and not
- 2:27the very heart of the thing. If you only
- 2:29change the practice but don't change the
- 2:32perspective, you just postpone the
- 2:34behavior till another time.
- 2:37You stop cussing right now. But if you
- 2:40don't go back and dig through your head
- 2:42and get that junk out and say, "I don't
- 2:44even know why I thought I needed to use
- 2:46other terms that were vulgar. What was I
- 2:48even thinking to disrespect myself and
- 2:50my mind?" If you don't go back and dig
- 2:52it out the next time somebody does
- 2:54something,
- 2:57preach. All right. So then we've
- 3:00realized we need to be in alignment.
- 3:03That always gets fewer. Okay. Be in
- 3:06alignment financially. be a tither. It's
- 3:10not an option. It's a part of our faith.
- 3:13You know, I was thinking about it. I
- 3:14told them I was coming down my stairs. I
- 3:16have um to my to our left we have Muslim
- 3:19neighbors uh on down and uh in fact the
- 3:22two beside us and the one in front and
- 3:25um one of their mothers passed. So I
- 3:28text her to say, "Hey, you know, I'll be
- 3:30praying for you and your family and da
- 3:31da da." She was like, "Oh God, this
- 3:33means so much more to me than you would
- 3:34even know. Thank you so much for praying
- 3:36for me." And on and on. just sweet
- 3:38people. And uh I was thinking about it,
- 3:41their faith seems to be uh a little bit
- 3:45more
- 3:46daily routine
- 3:49required. And I said, I was thinking
- 3:51this coming down the steps this morning.
- 3:53I said, we have to be careful. We have
- 3:55such glorious Sunday celebrations that
- 3:58if we're not careful, we'll think Sunday
- 3:59is the end of our faith.
- 4:02[Music]
- 4:04Yeah, because we could we don't just
- 4:06come and listen to a speech, say a
- 4:08prayer, and read a scripture. We going
- 4:10in. You understand? We we done heard
- 4:13about seven songs already.
- 4:15We done hollered, cried, screamed, then
- 4:18Steve Hartman. We we we go for the whole
- 4:20gamut, right? But if we're not careful,
- 4:23we'll think that that's it. But the
- 4:26daily alignment,
- 4:28your faith is more than what you
- 4:30believe. It's the way you adhere to the
- 4:32belief system.
- 4:35I'm holding the mic out for the clap.
- 4:38[Applause]
- 4:39Yeah. So, get in alignment financially
- 4:42because you cannot disrespect God and
- 4:46steal from him and then ask him to bless
- 4:48everything.
- 4:49That was like them people who tried to
- 4:51jump in the fastass lane, Kevin. Y'all
- 4:53see them? They tried to get in that
- 4:54fastpass lane like they had it. And then
- 4:58you get to a certain point and you had
- 4:59to put your card up against that thing.
- 5:02They said, "Ma'am, you in standby." So,
- 5:03not
- 5:05only you, now you got to get back out of
- 5:08that. Everybody looking at you. You
- 5:09understand what I'm saying? And you got
- 5:10I don't want that.
- 5:12Go on and be right with the Lord. Amen.
- 5:14And then we said you need an awareness
- 5:16of two things. an awareness first of all
- 5:20that you and I because of our walk with
- 5:23God are made to come out of anything
- 5:26that would try to hold us bound.
- 5:28Can I say something to you? All my life
- 5:31I always felt so undisiplined, right?
- 5:33And I'm I'm again I'm not the person
- 5:35that is as great on routines. Y'all know
- 5:38the fast is no joke for me getting up
- 5:40that early in the morning cuz I don't
- 5:42hardly think nobody I don't want to hear
- 5:44nobody talk at
- 5:466:30, right? That's Earl. I'm just not
- 5:48that person. But God has shown me,
- 5:52Rosie, stop saying you're not
- 5:54disciplined. You are incredibly
- 5:56disciplined. And watch this. So are
- 5:58y'all.
- 6:01How many say, "Pastor, I don't know. I'm
- 6:02going Come on, be honest. I don't know."
- 6:04Let me tell you something. Everything
- 6:06about the way you
- 6:07live, now I'm not saying you couldn't
- 6:10grow in it. I'm saying you'd be
- 6:12surprised at how disciplined you are
- 6:15because you're here right now. How many
- 6:17Well, now I see a lot of empty chair
- 6:19which is scary cuz we never have empty
- 6:20chairs at night. But what that says
- 6:22rain. How many wanted to sleep in?
- 6:28You probably would have given almost
- 6:30anything to sleep in. Right. That rain
- 6:34was
- 6:37[Applause]
- 6:39right.
- 6:41Okay, but now wait a minute. But you're
- 6:42here though.
- 6:46No, no, come on. Come on. You're here.
- 6:49So, what that says to me, and it's
- 6:51because you already have this mindset.
- 6:54I'm a ser I'm a I'm a Jesus follower.
- 6:57The family gathers on Sunday morning.
- 6:59So, rain, shine, you know, windy don't
- 7:02make no difference. Snow, unless they
- 7:04cancel, I'm coming to church. So that
- 7:06says to me, you were aware that you
- 7:09didn't want to go. You wanted to sleep
- 7:11in, but you have a belief system that's
- 7:13bigger than what you feel. So you made
- 7:16the decision to do what you knew was
- 7:18right. Baby, you are disciplined.
- 7:22Turn and tell your neighbor, you are
- 7:24disciplined. You are disciplined.
- 7:26Everything about our faith shows it. You
- 7:29getting mad, you didn't cuss the person
- 7:30out. That's discipline.
- 7:35No, I'm not. That's not even a joke,
- 7:36y'all. That's not a joke.
- 7:40You made decisions because of what you
- 7:42believe.
- 7:46It's in you and you need to be aware of
- 7:49it.
- 7:51Cuz you don't need to think that you
- 7:53have to live in a financially tight
- 7:54situation
- 7:57cuz it's in you to come out.
- 8:00Okay. Now, so we must be aware aware of
- 8:03our ability to come out of anything
- 8:06because of the way our faith operates.
- 8:08We get a new mindset. We make decisions
- 8:10based on what we believe and not what we
- 8:12feel. So, we're perfect candidates to be
- 8:14free in any situation. But then also an
- 8:17awareness of where we are. Anytime you
- 8:20want to go somewhere, you need to figure
- 8:22out where you are. Amen. Where are you
- 8:24starting from?
- 8:26Come on. All right. Proverbs
- 8:2927:23 says that you and I need to be
- 8:32careful to know the state of our flocks.
- 8:35So you had homework last week.
- 8:39Look at you. Look at you. Okay. One
- 8:41person that put their head down. She
- 8:42said, "Oh Lord, I didn't do a list." All
- 8:44right. How many did your stuff?
- 8:48Okay. Okay. That's
- 8:50sad. Okay. That's all right. You better
- 8:52not let me see one of them papers laying
- 8:54around. All right. How many had already
- 8:57done your stuff? You've already worked
- 8:58on stuff like that. Okay. How many got
- 9:00to do it this week? Okay. Listen to me
- 9:03when I share this with you. You know
- 9:04this is love, right? Unless you got a
- 9:07whole bunch of
- 9:08money, you you you don't have another
- 9:11week.
- 9:17Okay, y'all saw the y'all saw the stuff.
- 9:20You You better find your way to some
- 9:21money. You better listen to what I'm
- 9:23telling you.
- 9:24All right, moving on. So, the spending
- 9:27plan, you need to
- 9:28know what your expenses are today.
- 9:32Second
- 9:33Kings chapter 6. That's my review. Oh,
- 9:36wait a minute. Thank you, Lord. Oh, he's
- 9:38so good. From Bible study, we will learn
- 9:41you need an emergency fund. Amen.
- 9:45Okay, we looked at two verses. Uh,
- 9:47Proverbs 6 6-8. Go to the aunt, thou
- 9:50slugger. Consider her ways and be wise.
- 9:52Whom having no overseer or guide, she
- 9:54provides some meat in the summer. You
- 9:57need to be making money now.
- 10:00Now, a lot of people are going to say
- 10:02you're in your 70s, you're in your 80s,
- 10:05and you're going, "Bishop, where were
- 10:06you 40 years ago?" I understand. Okay.
- 10:11But for those of y'all that are 40 and
- 10:13under,
- 10:15you you ought to be almost coming to sit
- 10:17on the floor in front.
- 10:2020,
- 10:24I'm telling you, you going to remember
- 10:25me when you get old.
- 10:27Boy, you remember what was her name?
- 10:30Uh, she was funnyish and real bright
- 10:33looking and a lot of teeth and whatnot.
- 10:36You going to remember
- 10:38because what you do with these lessons
- 10:40like this will determine what you are
- 10:43like when you get older.
- 10:47Okay. Whether you're wondering who going
- 10:49to come replace your floor cuz you can't
- 10:51afford to do it.
- 10:55Bene going too real. I I need to go
- 10:58Jesus.
- 10:59Okay. Proverbs 21:20. I want to at least
- 11:02read that one to you. There is treasure.
- 11:05This is what we learned about this
- 11:07emergency fund. Treasure to be desired
- 11:09and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but
- 11:12a foolish person spends up everything
- 11:14they see.
- 11:16You need to have an emergency fund. And
- 11:19what is that? At least $1,000 to get
- 11:21started. So if your tire blow out, you
- 11:24ain't looking around lost.
- 11:26Come on, talk to me. All right. At least
- 11:29a th000. Then you want to move to three
- 11:31to six months of your income sitting.
- 11:33Yeah. All right. So, Pastor Trev taught
- 11:35it. It's on the line. It's online. It's
- 11:36on Bible study. But today, Second Kings,
- 11:38y'all, Y'all ain't lost your joy, have
- 11:40you? No. All right. We'll put the song
- 11:43back on. We put the video back on. We
- 11:45can't ask Elder Kelly to sing that
- 11:47again. He killed that. Ain't no more
- 11:49juice in that. That thing
- 11:52is gone. Second Kings, starting at verse
- 11:56one of chapter 6. Come on. And the sons
- 11:58of the prophets said unto Elisha, Yep.
- 12:00Behold now, the place where we dwell
- 12:03with thee is too straight for us. It's
- 12:04too small. See, when you get a dream,
- 12:06you got to bust to move.
- 12:09Okay? Only two people. The place where
- 12:13we are is too st. It's too narrow. It's
- 12:15too small for us. All right? So, he
- 12:17says, "Let's go. Let's build. Everybody
- 12:20get a beam. We're going to all chip in
- 12:22and we're going to build a place." He
- 12:24said, "Okay, go ahead." Verse three, he
- 12:26said, "Uh, read." And one said, "Be
- 12:29content, I pray thee, and go with thy
- 12:31servants." And he answered, "I will go."
- 12:33I'll go with you. Come on. So he went
- 12:35with them. And when they came to Jordan,
- 12:37they cut down. They start cutting down
- 12:39some more wood. You're going to need
- 12:40some more. All right. Verse five. But as
- 12:42one was felling, as he was cutting his
- 12:44piece of wood, the axe head fell into
- 12:47the water. Dog gone. And he cried and
- 12:49said, "Alas, and he wait. Uh-uh. His axe
- 12:52head fell in the water. And he what? He
- 12:55did what? Cry. That's what happened when
- 12:57you when you borrow something and then
- 12:59it's gone. You
- 13:01come on, read the verse.
- 13:04And he cried and said, "Alas, master."
- 13:06Oh, no. For it was borrowed. Okay, there
- 13:09it is. M
- 13:13I need you to I need you to for a moment
- 13:15identify with the pressure and the
- 13:18stress and the tears of what happens
- 13:23when how you feel when something occurs
- 13:26and you don't have money for it.
- 13:31You done borrowed this and now it flew
- 13:33in the water. Axe heads don't swim. you
- 13:36in trouble cuz you already don't have a
- 13:38big enough place.
- 13:40Now you done b Okay, forget it. Y'all
- 13:42don't know. And don't folk don't even we
- 13:44don't cut wood. We don't do nothing. So
- 13:46forget that. Okay, so you b you borrowed
- 13:49some money.
- 13:51Yeah.
- 13:53And then lost your job.
- 13:57Okay, let's try to put it into you
- 13:59borrowed some money and somebody broke
- 14:02in your car and took your wallet and
- 14:04broke the window to get in. So, you lost
- 14:07the money you borrowed. Now, you got to
- 14:09take off a day and you got to get your
- 14:12W. This is all the scriptures saying.
- 14:14Yeah. And I need for us to identify
- 14:16today with that he cried
- 14:21because this desire to live our lives
- 14:24for Jesus and to be vessels of God in
- 14:27the earth is something that says, "Hey,
- 14:30I want to have the ability to not only
- 14:33sustain my life, but to have wealth that
- 14:36could bless other people and create
- 14:38strength in the kingdom."
- 14:42Okay, I'm just going to work today. I
- 14:44came to
- 14:45work you. First of all, so I'm going to
- 14:47give you uh we got four little points
- 14:49today. You going to be able to make it.
- 14:50My subject today is factor in the cross.
- 14:55Fact. I know it. It's hard to believe,
- 14:56but it's in here. Factor in the cross.
- 15:01So today, we have four points that I
- 15:03want us to consider as we are covenant
- 15:05conscious financially. I'm in a covenant
- 15:08with God. I'm gonna change my mind to
- 15:10think in line with what the word says.
- 15:13I'm gonna get in alignment with my
- 15:14practices and my perspective. Amen.
- 15:18Amen. Right. Okay. I have an awareness.
- 15:20I'm going find out where I am
- 15:22financially. And then this is what I
- 15:24want to do. Number one, establish the
- 15:26why. You going to come out of this debt.
- 15:30And if you're not in that, why you're
- 15:32going to the next level of abundance.
- 15:34Establish your why.
- 15:37You have to understand
- 15:39something. It is always valuable
- 15:42time to figure out why you want
- 15:45something
- 15:47before you really go after.
- 15:50It is equivalent to sharpening the edge
- 15:54of the axe head.
- 15:57Because if your axe head isn't sharp,
- 15:59you got to you got to put more force to
- 16:02it. Come on. Y'all know that you get a
- 16:05real knife on a steak, you ain't got any
- 16:08problems. But if you pull that joker up
- 16:11out the dollar store,
- 16:14you going to be you going you fitting a
- 16:16struggle, baby. All right. You got to
- 16:19establish your why. And Proverbs 22:7
- 16:23tells you, cuz the servant, the borrower
- 16:25is servant to the lender. I don't want
- 16:27to be in that position. I said, I don't
- 16:30want to be in that position. Amen. I
- 16:32don't want to be like 2 Kings 6:5
- 16:35crying. What I'mma do? We're supposed to
- 16:38be opening our mouths and giving God
- 16:40praise. Amen. We're supposed to be open
- 16:42giving honor to God. Who's the head of
- 16:43my I thank God for what he's doing in my
- 16:46life. I bless God. We don't need y'all
- 16:48pray for me because you know what had
- 16:51happened was you know and I and I'm just
- 16:54you know
- 16:57that why you call it can't have
- 16:58testimony service now.
- 17:01folk up there. I can't even hardly be on
- 17:03Bible study. People trying to ask, "Can
- 17:04you cash app at me to get to Maryland?"
- 17:06No. Doc, get off the thing. Listen to
- 17:09the Bible study. That's what you need to
- 17:11be doing. And I'm not saying we don't
- 17:13have needs. I'm saying but that ain't
- 17:14the place in time. And usually and let's
- 17:18say how real you want to go. No. Only
- 17:20Only a few of y'all say is how real you
- 17:22want to go. Generally, it's the folk who
- 17:25ain't tithing and ain't doing right that
- 17:26always need something.
- 17:30I know it's hard to clap to it. Lord,
- 17:33they took my slide away. That I don't
- 17:34know why they want to do me like that.
- 17:36Put my slide back up. Establish your
- 17:38why.
- 17:39Put that back up there for me. There it
- 17:41is. See, I want to make sure that you
- 17:44have it down in your spirit that you
- 17:47want God to do certain things in
- 17:49you. Before I get started on this quest,
- 17:54see, even Jesus illustrated this when it
- 17:58said in Hebrews, who for the joy that
- 18:00was set before him, he endured the
- 18:03cross.
- 18:04There's something that happens in you
- 18:06when you put the why in front of you.
- 18:10Because when everybody else say, "We
- 18:11going the long horn. You going and you
- 18:13thinking to yourself, nah, I don't know
- 18:16what should I do. I got some money."
- 18:20But you know what? I'm tired of even
- 18:22having to ask, "What should I do?" No, I
- 18:25ain't going. I'm going to go right home
- 18:27and eat what I got. Why? Because in
- 18:30about 17 months, I ain't going to ever
- 18:32have to ask this question again. And I
- 18:35can say no to that food today so I can
- 18:38say yes to stuff later. Y'all ain't
- 18:40having church with me. And you got to
- 18:42get that stuck in your
- 18:44head. Maybe your thing is legacy. And
- 18:47that's where we are thinking about how
- 18:49how can I make the biggest impact on two
- 18:51or three generations.
- 18:54I started thinking about that thing. I'm
- 18:57a little older and I I didn't have my
- 19:00children very young. So I'm like I got
- 19:04to come I had to sit down that told
- 19:06y'all about it and come to grips with it
- 19:08is possible that I may not see them
- 19:10graduate from high school. I don't know.
- 19:13I hope to but the reality is Bishop will
- 19:17hit that's old will hit 60 in about six
- 19:22seven months
- 19:24right so so I don't have grandchildren
- 19:27yet
- 19:31so you're doing all you can ain't you
- 19:34son you're doing all in three months hey
- 19:36lift lift your left
- 19:38[Applause]
- 19:40foot yes sir so right So between them,
- 19:44you know, we believe God for it. But
- 19:46here's the thing. If it takes another
- 19:48year or two,
- 19:50that would make me 80 when they
- 19:52graduate.
- 19:56So I I'm I'm thinking about that and I
- 19:58said, "Okay." So I'm doing my stuff. I
- 20:00said, "I want to leave this amount of
- 20:01money for them cars for my
- 20:04grandchildren, but not when they turn 16
- 20:06cuz they going to wreck them." That No,
- 20:07no, no, no. The old ve the mobile is
- 20:11coming. You know, I want them when they
- 20:13graduate college or whatever, I want
- 20:15them to get that's when they say and
- 20:17they pull all they graduated and then
- 20:20the parents say, "Here go the keys. This
- 20:22isn't from
- 20:24us. Watch this little video."
- 20:28Hey, I wish I could have been with you
- 20:31today. I'm in heaven
- 20:33though. Right. But I was thinking about
- 20:36you before I left. So, while you drive
- 20:39your car, give God some praise. Cuz this
- 20:41came from a worshipper. Hey. Hallelujah.
- 20:45I want him riding down with Omar on the
- 20:48back. Little sticker on it. Let's get
- 20:51the little sticker made. Look at Bae.
- 20:53I'mma still be here. Look
- 20:56at all right. Y'all do what you got to
- 20:58do. But establish your why because it
- 21:01motivates you. Listen to me. Your why
- 21:04motivates you when it's tough.
- 21:12It motivates you. If it's weight, if
- 21:15it's relationship, whatever your area is
- 21:17where you feel like you're behind or
- 21:20whatever, put the why out there.
- 21:24When I was getting ready to go through
- 21:25chemo, I said, "Let me pick where I'm
- 21:27going to go to celebrate when I get
- 21:29through." So, I'm going to Hawaii when I
- 21:31get through. And I would look at the
- 21:34picture. I say, "I'll be there soon."
- 21:36And that's what I did. And it motivated
- 21:39me when I had a little pain. Y'all don't
- 21:42feel like having church. See, even if
- 21:44you got a if your relationship's real
- 21:46rough right now, you got to see you got
- 21:48to look past right now and say, "You
- 21:50know what? I don't want to be I don't
- 21:52want to I don't want to be 79 and 80 and
- 21:55sitting on the porch and or or not on
- 21:57the porch by myself." No, I want to look
- 21:59over there and
- 22:01say, "You some cheeks."
- 22:04And I want him just like he did the
- 22:05other day. We were playing skipo and I
- 22:07and I almost had him. God knows I almost
- 22:09had him and I lost right at the end. And
- 22:11so I walked past he was in his man cave
- 22:14and I
- 22:15said and y'all know what he did? He's
- 22:18loser. Right. So, but I want to do that
- 22:21when I'm 80.
- 22:23So you got to put that in front of you
- 22:26when they come in the house. How was
- 22:27your day? Fine. And you get mad.
- 22:32Let's see how quiet they got. Y'all
- 22:34don't Why do y'all come?
- 22:36All right. Push your neighbor and say,
- 22:38"Establish your why." Establish your
- 22:40why. Why do you want to be financially
- 22:42free? Why do you want to have excess?
- 22:45Why? Why does it matter to you? Why? I
- 22:47don't want to hear I don't want to have
- 22:48to worry about who calling my house.
- 22:51I don't want to have to worry about
- 22:52what's will happen to me if I'm not
- 22:54feeling well. I want to be able to pay
- 22:56for a nurse to come in the house and
- 22:57take care of me.
- 23:00Establish your what? Wow. That's right.
- 23:03Then number two, you need to decide on
- 23:06how you going to do this. How you coming
- 23:08out of debt? On what? How? How? Yeah,
- 23:12remember that. Now, there are two
- 23:14primary methods. How many? Two. Now, I
- 23:17know this don't seem spiritual for
- 23:19everybody, but it'll seem spiritual when
- 23:21you don't when like I was at the movie
- 23:23theater and one of the members leaned
- 23:24over and said, you know, we put all this
- 23:26into practice. We paid off our house in
- 23:28January.
- 23:31Hey, not not in front over there.
- 23:32remember to the left side. There he is.
- 23:35Yeah, cuz see we got that camera right
- 23:37there, I think. And there we go. Thank
- 23:39you. You got two basic
- 23:41methods. You have consolidating your
- 23:45bills.
- 23:47Put that up there. What's that say?
- 23:49Warning. Can y'all see that? Warning.
- 23:53Why? Because this is what people do. If
- 23:57you owe, let's say, seven, eight places,
- 23:59cuz if you did your list, I did one
- 24:01based on a couple making
- 24:04$90,000 and their mortgage was
- 24:08$1,800. Oh, we got a slide for it, too,
- 24:10but not yet. And so I did all this
- 24:12stuff. Them jokers was already in $1,000
- 24:14worth of debt before they even got to
- 24:17the credit cards.
- 24:20And their only mortgage was only 1,800.
- 24:28So what they do is they say this is what
- 24:29you need to do. You owe 17,000 here and
- 24:32you owe 14 here, six there, two there.
- 24:35Put it all into one. Lower that payment.
- 24:39Push your neighbor and say, "Warning,
- 24:40warning, warning, warning."
- 24:43Let me tell you something.
- 24:46The only time, what did I just say?
- 24:50Consolidation is beneficial is if you
- 24:54are the almost most disciplined person
- 24:57in the
- 24:59world and you will not veer at all from
- 25:04your plan.
- 25:06Cuz this is what happens. People put all
- 25:09the bills together. They said, "Thank
- 25:10God, honey. God really came through for
- 25:12me cuz I was tired honey. Every time the
- 25:14phone rang and I got and that's what
- 25:16they tell you. I know you're tired of
- 25:18the phone
- 25:19ringing. Let us put all that together.
- 25:23So now you're not paying 225, 240, 390,
- 25:2660 this. You just paying 400. You say, I
- 25:30just needed, pastor, I'm be honest. I
- 25:31just needed a break. And you'll ride
- 25:34that break for about 4 months. And then
- 25:37you going to open up another card.
- 25:40And then you going to open up another
- 25:41bill. And before long, you got all of
- 25:44that and all of these two. And I know
- 25:46you say, "Pastor, I want Look at how you
- 25:48got where you are."
- 25:50Now, I ain't trying to throw shade. We
- 25:52shining light, right? So, here's you.
- 25:55You This is
- 26:01dangerous.
- 26:03Okay. Second
- 26:05way. I don't I just That's like I told
- 26:08y'all last week about bathrooms and
- 26:10stuff. And I told you and I'm using cuz
- 26:12you see them. The commercials are
- 26:13nonstop. We can fix your bathroom in a
- 26:16day and they show you the little rotten
- 26:18stuff and all that rust and all that
- 26:20stuff and the tub. You be like, "Dang,
- 26:23they steal you. Oh lord." And they say,
- 26:25"I need to get that." And you don't have
- 26:27to pay the 2028.
- 26:30And you know, and look, I'm not picking
- 26:32cuz you know I did this, right? You know
- 26:34I've done this kind of dumb stuff.
- 26:36That's how I can teach y'all about it,
- 26:38right? So you you get it done. You feel
- 26:42I ain't got no payment honey. By 2028,
- 26:44I'm going to have paid it off cuz what
- 26:46I'mma do
- 26:49is now here's my thing. You were looking
- 26:52at all that rust and that that little uh
- 26:57the little water thing that you could
- 26:58move back and forth like that cuz it was
- 27:00rusted out and you didn't save any money
- 27:02then to get it fixed. Now that it's
- 27:05fixed, you think you going to start
- 27:07saving for it? It ain't fitting to
- 27:09happen, baby.
- 27:11and you'll get up there and get right up
- 27:14on the precipice of that pay, that first
- 27:16payment, and they tack on that interest
- 27:20that you ain't had to worry about the
- 27:21whole time.
- 27:23It's it Anybody ever heard of rent to
- 27:26own
- 27:30furniture? Sit on the
- 27:32floor. The Lord wants you to lay on the
- 27:34floor. That's what God is calling for.
- 27:36You don't you 25% interest that by the
- 27:39time you get through paying for that
- 27:41couch, that couch won't be $800. You
- 27:43done paid $12,000 for that one
- 27:46couch. God knows. All right. The next
- 27:49kind is avalanche. Is what? Avalanche.
- 27:53All right. Now, what that speaks to. So,
- 27:56look at this on this particular
- 27:59one. Y'all got a camera so that the
- 28:02people on the side can see it? One of
- 28:04the cameras. Put it up here. John, can
- 28:06they see it? Okay. This
- 28:09family makes
- 28:12$90,000. Top. What's Who knows what top
- 28:16is?
- 28:17Tithe offering and pastor. My God, you
- 28:21better praise him. So they make $90,000
- 28:24a year, right? Y'all sleep? Okay, that's
- 28:307.5K a month. All right. So, their tithe
- 28:34would be 750.
- 28:39Y'all y'all know how do I stuff? Let's
- 28:42pretend they're giving $50 in
- 28:45offering/pastors offering, vision
- 28:47builder, everything got to come in that
- 28:51$50. Sometime it's like that. All right.
- 28:54So, so as they say, it be like that
- 28:56sometime. All right. So they got $1,800
- 29:00worth of mortgage, utilities, three,
- 29:02phone, two, car 650, cable 139.
- 29:09What?
- 29:12Oh, cable more than
- 29:15that.
- 29:19Darn. Insurance on car number one, $90 a
- 29:22month. Car number two, $435. insurance
- 29:2580 allowance that's two people that's
- 29:29$50 a
- 29:31week
- 29:33food now food is low
- 29:36but I'm thinking if you got that much if
- 29:38you got allowance you try to cut back or
- 29:40something life insurance
- 29:43[Applause]
- 29:46I wish you would put
- 29:49Oh god did y'all hear me did you hear my
- 29:50mind that fast I better not see a corner
- 29:54near member
- 30:02Go.
- 30:08Grooming cuz you know the guys going to
- 30:10get that haircut. You just might as
- 30:11well. Ladies, we you know. Amen.
- 30:15We do what we gas,
- 30:18right? Child care.
- 30:24I'm just pretending they only got one. I
- 30:27don't I don't know what to if they got
- 30:30three. I don't If you got three children
- 30:32at $150 a week, that's
- 30:37Huh? Oh, they go to corner cuz it's
- 30:40usually what? Two
- 30:42how much?
- 30:45270
- 30:48273
- 30:51a week. How many kids?
- 30:56Let me take this time to invite you to
- 30:59Cornia
- 31:04Kaleidoscope. I can't even deal with
- 31:06that. Incidentals, y'all. These people
- 31:08already are over their balance because
- 31:11though you make
- 31:12$75,000, you only going to bring home
- 31:15maybe.
- 31:18Maybe.
- 31:20When I did the math on these people,
- 31:22they were minus
- 31:25$800 every month. That doesn't
- 31:29include the minimum payments of
- 31:34235 125.
- 31:37Lord JC Penney, holding
- 31:41on. All right. Now, why was it important
- 31:44to put these interest rates up
- 31:46here? This, listen, you have to pay
- 31:49attention. And I know there are some
- 31:51people that will probably not want to
- 31:53watch this and don't feel like this is
- 31:54churchy for
- 31:57them. But where are we going to learn
- 31:59this stuff? Cuz they sure are not
- 32:02teaching it in school. And if you don't
- 32:05come from a financially educated family,
- 32:08then you think it's okay to take your
- 32:11title
- 32:13down to the the car play and get get,
- 32:15you know, to one of them little check
- 32:17places
- 32:18and get a loan at 30%.
- 32:22You don't buy a car at 10%.
- 32:25You don't No, no, no. Get a bike.
- 32:30get an electric bike
- 32:33and a rainshaw
- 32:35and go to work
- 32:38until you can afford better. So the
- 32:41avalanche method is based on like if you
- 32:43had a mountain and the goal is to knock
- 32:47the stuff out and then add the payment
- 32:49to the next one. Right? So you only owe
- 32:5475 $725 at JC Penney. We got to hurry up
- 32:58and get through with that. All right. So
- 33:01now if you looked at your sheet, the
- 33:03whole premise of this is as soon as I
- 33:06get this knocked
- 33:07out, soon as I get that, now you would
- 33:10normally go from the highest interest
- 33:12rate, but it depends on how much you
- 33:14owe. Sometimes you need to pay off the
- 33:16little ones first to give you a sense of
- 33:19momentum.
- 33:21And as soon as you pay it off, cut it up
- 33:23and call write the letter and get it
- 33:25taken off your credit report.
- 33:30Jesus. Every now and then, Jesus. See,
- 33:34now the cross enables us to do this.
- 33:37Again, look at what Jesus did. He
- 33:39established his why the joy set before
- 33:41him. He endured the
- 33:44cross. Same thing here. I'm trying to
- 33:46figure out how I'm going to do it. How
- 33:48did he save and rescue us? The cross.
- 33:52my ability to go ahead and suck it up
- 33:57and pay it off. Say, "No, we going out."
- 33:59No, we're not going out tonight.
- 34:01No, no, no. We good, baby. Let's watch.
- 34:03We can watch that on TV. Come on. I want
- 34:05surround sound. I'll stand behind you
- 34:07and holler. You understand what I'm
- 34:09saying? We trying to pay the mess
- 34:12off.
- 34:15Y'all, I'm sorry. The way stuff hits my
- 34:19head. Right. So, as soon as I get this
- 34:22paid off, I'm then going to take this
- 34:25$40
- 34:28and you can look into you have to take
- 34:29the time to see which one is really best
- 34:32advantageous and I'm adding it. So, now
- 34:34I don't have to pay this 40. That don't
- 34:36mean I should go out and raise up cable
- 34:38and add a whole new
- 34:40channel. It means now I got instead of
- 34:43125, how much can I pay?
- 34:46165. Then watch this. When I knock that
- 34:49out, I add this to that. Now I'm paying
- 34:51almost $400 a month to get this one
- 34:54taken out and I've called and gotten rid
- 34:56of that
- 34:58and I've gotten rid of that and taken it
- 35:00off my credit. So I've I've closed the
- 35:02account down.
- 35:08You see? So, I'm using this whole
- 35:11concept of I have the discipline to
- 35:14apply my faith to this area and I'm
- 35:17going to deny myself, take up my cross
- 35:21and knock these bills out in Jesus name
- 35:24or knock these goals out in Jesus name.
- 35:28Are y'all following me? All right, come
- 35:30on. So, let's look at something else.
- 35:31We're trying to get through. All right.
- 35:34You got to watch this. You got to
- 35:36establish your why.
- 35:39decide on your how. Now, oh, Proverbs
- 35:4313:11. Proverbs 13:11. Real quick, real
- 35:46quick. I know
- 35:47y'all maybe y'all help me. I can holler
- 35:5030
- 35:51seconds. It says, first of all, wealth
- 35:54gotten by vanity, it ends up diminishing
- 35:56anyhow. But if you get if you get it by
- 36:00labor, that's when you really increase.
- 36:02Can I tell you something? It will change
- 36:04you to change your financial situation
- 36:07because you put a plan in place.
- 36:10It's not just it's not just okay at the
- 36:1212:00. Now, I encourage you to watch 12
- 36:14from last week cuz I think it was more
- 36:16succinct. But I called this brother up
- 36:18and gave him $700. I was going to give
- 36:21him $500. Somebody else gave me $200
- 36:23more. So, I gave it to him. Well, he
- 36:25just went down. Great big old fell just
- 36:26went to jumping and bouncing and it was
- 36:29really great. And I said, "Has that ever
- 36:31happened to you before?" He said, "No."
- 36:33I said, "So apparently your
- 36:36experience doesn't have to control your
- 36:38expectation.
- 36:41You can still have an expectation of
- 36:43something you've never experienced.
- 36:46God does not need it to have happened
- 36:48before for it to happen for you now. I
- 36:51wish I had." So Okay, she got it. It
- 36:53doesn't have to have happened before.
- 36:54God can bring a billion dollars in your
- 36:56hand. You just It doesn't matter that
- 36:58you don't know nobody with it. God can
- 37:00make you the fir. Y'all not churching
- 37:02with me. You see, and so you have to
- 37:05have that in your mind.
- 37:08All right. Decide on the how. Decide on
- 37:11the how. And you become something
- 37:13different. A person that wins the
- 37:14lottery generally doesn't have anything
- 37:16two years later because they didn't get
- 37:18what they got through labor. Sometime if
- 37:21you give your children too much, you
- 37:24have to gauge the kind of person that
- 37:26they are. Cuz if you give them too much,
- 37:28they can become entitled acting and
- 37:32lazy. They said, "I need so and so when
- 37:34I need moved in that apartment." I said,
- 37:36"Gosh, man. I'm going to need to tilew."
- 37:37I said, "I need I got to cut on
- 37:39electricity." Your dad My dad said,
- 37:40"Yeah, you going to need
- 37:43that." Which meant I'm not giving you
- 37:45nothing for it. You should have known.
- 37:47Hope it work out for you. Well, I
- 37:49thought it was the meanest thing. I'm so
- 37:52glad he didn't give it to me because I
- 37:54felt like somebody when we were able to
- 37:57go cut the electricity on and I became
- 38:00something. Don't hand your children too
- 38:02much beyond what they can take.
- 38:06I told my boys earlier I would just It
- 38:09would kill me to know that y'all were
- 38:11trifling
- 38:13and
- 38:14lazy. Oh, it just it would break my
- 38:16heart. Thank God we got workers. Amen.
- 38:20Number three, designate your
- 38:22wear. Designate your wear. Watch this.
- 38:27Now, that means that spending plan that
- 38:30half of y'all didn't
- 38:33do. I don't like doing budgets. It's not
- 38:36a
- 38:37budget. It's a spending plan.
- 38:41It's you deciding where you're going to
- 38:43put your money. Yeah.
- 38:46I made a decision. I like the old me.
- 38:49Me, too.
- 38:50And I realized after watching some
- 38:53people that I didn't want to get older
- 38:57and not have a sense of security. I know
- 39:00my security is in
- 39:01God. But I also appreciate that the Lord
- 39:05was the one to help me see, put some
- 39:07money aside.
- 39:10I know y'all. Oh, Lord. Maybe they'll
- 39:12come back next week. Jesus.
- 39:15You got to designate where you want
- 39:17stuff to. It's the same thing with time.
- 39:19Everybody in here is not in debt.
- 39:23Everybody in here is not in debt. You
- 39:25got to put You need a a living plan.
- 39:28What about how you spend your time?
- 39:31You got plenty of money, but if you
- 39:33don't put any time in your
- 39:35relationships, they ain't going to have
- 39:36no depth to them. You don't have time.
- 39:40And I just got so much going on. It's
- 39:41always so much. It's just I got so much,
- 39:44you know, I just I feel like I'm just
- 39:45overwhelmed all the time and and well
- 39:47people I mean I want to go out but I
- 39:49just don't have time. And then you sit
- 39:50around and say I don't have any friends.
- 39:53No, you don't cuz you don't put any time
- 39:56in.
- 39:59And you got the same amount of time
- 40:00everybody else is. You just invested
- 40:02differently.
- 40:07Ah, y'all are wonderful people. Just go
- 40:08on finish rose. It's not going well for
- 40:10you today.
- 40:12designate the where you commit to preset
- 40:16limits
- 40:19I'm going to spend. See a lot of stuff
- 40:22what we do is we go out like and buy a
- 40:24car and they hope to be able to pay for
- 40:26it instead of having your pre your your
- 40:30spending plan down and seeing what you
- 40:32can't afford.
- 40:36But I feel like God want to give me the
- 40:38desires in my heart. He does after you
- 40:41pay your stuff off.
- 40:47Do you see how wise people don't holler
- 40:48want to come back to church sometime? I
- 40:50don't know what is.
- 40:52No, this I can't I can't go out and and
- 40:54I you know you you Oh, you're driving
- 40:57good and don't own nothing.
- 41:01Come on. Talk. Come on now. How many
- 41:03admit some of us didn't know? We didn't
- 41:05know. Honey, we went out. I got a I was
- 41:07talking to a pastor and uh he was
- 41:09telling me he's like I never heard any
- 41:11of this stuff driving a Mercedes and
- 41:13don't own nothing.
- 41:15[Music]
- 41:17Okay. So, well, you need to buy
- 41:20something. I
- 41:22can't. Wow. But never heard it. Didn't
- 41:26know it. Didn't know you should the
- 41:28place where they said no, you ain't got
- 41:30to put no down payment. Run from that.
- 41:32Run from that,
- 41:34honey. I ain't have to put nothing down.
- 41:36God gave me
- 41:38favor.
- 41:40Favor. And the people across the world
- 41:42while you signing, they holling favor.
- 41:45Cuz they getting ready to take all that
- 41:46you owe and throw 20% interest on that
- 41:49thing. And while you think you got a
- 41:51deal, you just put their children
- 41:52through college off that raggedy car
- 41:54that you just
- 41:56bought. Now don't look at me strange now
- 41:58cuz I drove the same vehicle for 10
- 42:00years straight. And if anything happened
- 42:02in that niece guy will get big blue
- 42:03right back.
- 42:06But I'm trying to get you to see this is
- 42:07the game they playing. No, but see you
- 42:10and I, we don't have to have a certain.
- 42:12Now ain't nothing buy again. If you have
- 42:14money, buy what you want to buy. If you
- 42:16don't, same thing I tell you about
- 42:18funerals.
- 42:21I know y'all to get tired of this. I
- 42:23know you do. But you going to appreciate
- 42:24me when I'm gone. And I won't care when
- 42:26I'm gone. But I'm just saying
- 42:29we love the people. Oh,
- 42:33that person is gone.
- 42:36And the money you get ready to spend is
- 42:39not for them. It's for either your how
- 42:41you want to be seen
- 42:44or for these people that are nosy.
- 42:47Now, if you got
- 42:49$15,000, go ahead.
- 42:52But if you don't,
- 42:55that is a kingdom resource.
- 43:02Designate. Some people had to do their
- 43:04stuff with the envelope system. Anybody
- 43:05know what that is? That's when you get
- 43:07that check. Y'all sit down together. You
- 43:10say, "Okay, this is our entertainment
- 43:11money." You put it in the envelope, say
- 43:13entertainment.
- 43:15And you look at
- 43:18it. You go back to it. It's the same
- 43:22amount and you have to agree to follow
- 43:25that system. Let me get to this last
- 43:28thing and let y'all go home
- 43:30today. You designate the where. Please
- 43:33fill out your spending plan. In fact,
- 43:34can you help me encourage your neighbor?
- 43:35Say, "Please fill it out. Please fill it
- 43:37out for yourself, honey. Fill it out.
- 43:40Know what you have." To my pastor, it's
- 43:42too ugly. Look at it with eyes of
- 43:45faith. All right. Now number four and
- 43:48finally factor in the
- 43:52who and the
- 43:54cross. Factor it in. In second Kings we
- 43:59are introduced Elisha or Elisha as some
- 44:03call him. They had some people. They
- 44:06needed another place. It was too small.
- 44:08They did not have all the resources but
- 44:11they w were willing to put the work in.
- 44:14They borrowed the axe head because as
- 44:16you can imagine that is the expensive
- 44:18part. They got the axe head. They
- 44:21started working and while they were
- 44:23cutting down the trees it flew off into
- 44:25the water. Now here's the thing. It
- 44:28brought stress. They instantly started
- 44:31crying. Oh no. They started panicking.
- 44:33What are we going to do? See an
- 44:35emergency fund. They'd have just been
- 44:36like darn. Well go get some money out
- 44:39the emergency fund. Yeah. But if you
- 44:42don't have it
- 44:45So the axe head goes down and they start
- 44:48crying and they go to the man of God and
- 44:50they say, "Man of God," and he, "What
- 44:52are we going to do?" He said, "Where did
- 44:54it fall? Where did it fall? I told you.
- 44:56How you going to get out of where you
- 44:58are if you don't know where you are?"
- 45:01When did this thing start breaking down
- 45:03for you? Y'all not having church with
- 45:05me. When did you start making the bad
- 45:07decisions? Right about that time that
- 45:09you got that car. Get rid of that car.
- 45:15I remember John, what kind of car were
- 45:16you
- 45:17driving? He done even forgot how you
- 45:20would have had so many vehicles to be so
- 45:22young. Well, he had this nice car he
- 45:25bought, the Audi Q7, a grown man's car.
- 45:30That's a older grown man's car. So, he's
- 45:33riding around in it and he starts doing
- 45:35his stuff. He knew he wanted to be at a
- 45:38certain place by a certain age. That car
- 45:40was expensive.
- 45:43I ain't say nothing. Did you say
- 45:45anything to him about
- 45:47it? He
- 45:49realized I'm spending a whole lot of
- 45:52money to be about 25 years old.
- 45:57$763 and what 95. See that thing scarred
- 46:02him. It scarred him. He still remembers
- 46:04how much it was. That's been two
- 46:06vehicles ago.
- 46:09But he was able to do it, but it wasn't
- 46:11wise. Oh God, I wish I had some church
- 46:13people in here. He said he was able to
- 46:15do it, but it wasn't wise. It wasn't
- 46:18moving him toward the goal he wanted to
- 46:20go to. So he said, "You know what? Let
- 46:22me take up my cross, turn this car in,
- 46:25get me one that's about $300 cheaper,
- 46:28and start moving toward Y'all ain't
- 46:30having church with me." That's what they
- 46:32He said, "Where did it fall in?" And
- 46:35they told him, and this what I want you
- 46:36to see. He took a stick. Yeah, that's
- 46:40for my preachers right there. He took a
- 46:42stick, a piece of wood,
- 46:46a cross, and threw it in. See, you said,
- 46:50"Pastor, I've been trying to get out of
- 46:51debt for the longest. I've been
- 46:53believing to get out." But you ain't
- 46:54factored the cross in. You didn't factor
- 46:57the fact that you know how to deny
- 46:59yourself when you want to. You need to
- 47:01factor the fact that you got God on your
- 47:03side. You need to factor in the reality
- 47:06that you know why you want to do it.
- 47:08Now, they threw the stick in and the
- 47:11Bible said the axe head begin to swim.
- 47:14I'm trying to get you to see when you
- 47:16factor in the fact that God's got a
- 47:19covenant with you. When you factor in
- 47:22that you were made to deny yourself so
- 47:25you could have better later. When you
- 47:28factor in the fact that God will breathe
- 47:30on your obedience, I'm telling you
- 47:33something getting ready to raise up for
- 47:35you. If you'll factor in the cross,
- 47:38nudge your neighbor, say, "Factor the
- 47:40cross in." Cuz this is what I learned
- 47:42about the cross. Whenever we die on a
- 47:45cross, God gives us a resurrection. If I
- 47:49can die to it right now, then in
- 47:52about See, y'all ain't churching. You
- 47:54want to holl at three days. in about 3
- 47:57days. I don't know how long your day is.
- 48:01It may take 2 years, but I'm coming
- 48:04out with all power. I'm coming out with
- 48:09more than I thought I could have. You
- 48:12got to factor it
- 48:15in. I'm telling y'all, I'm not just
- 48:18trying to holler for Holla's sake, but
- 48:20you got to factor it in. I don't care
- 48:23what the circumstance looks like. Amen.
- 48:27I'm not just in this by myself.
- 48:31He walks with me. He talks with me. I
- 48:35got the God factor on my life. And when
- 48:38I throw the cross in, when I factor in
- 48:41Jesus, when I factor in who he
- 48:44[Applause]
- 48:46is, the Bible says when they threw that
- 48:49stick in, the axe head floated and they
- 48:53were able to take it.
- 48:55Look at what it said. Oh my god. It
- 48:58said, "Take it up to thee."
- 49:02And he put out his hand and took it. You
- 49:05getting ready to get control of your
- 49:07circumstance. Y'all don't hear what I'm
- 49:08saying. You getting ready to get a grip
- 49:10on this thing. You getting ready to grab
- 49:13hold of it. I'm telling you, there's
- 49:15another place God wants for you to walk
- 49:18in financially. I wish I had some real
- 49:21faithfilled people. Somebody getting
- 49:23ready to grab hold of it. Everybody in
- 49:26your family talked about it. But God
- 49:29going to let you be the one to get your
- 49:32[Applause]
- 49:37hand. And all I can tell you, all I can
- 49:41tell
- 49:42you is there's no way I should be able
- 49:47to live like I live and do what I do.
- 49:50Come on now. But I factored the cross
- 49:52in. It don't make sense if you just look
- 49:54at me. It don't make sense if you just
- 49:57look at Ba.
- 49:59But if you factor in the cross,
- 50:06[Applause]
- 50:09I'm done. But I've told you we bought
- 50:11that little spot. Bought a spot for my
- 50:14parents. And uh they kept saying, "Are
- 50:18you is you are you going to use it for
- 50:19rental property?" I said, "No." They
- 50:22said, "Are your parents moving up here?"
- 50:24I said, "Probably
- 50:27not." I said, "Cuz they don't want to
- 50:29leave their house. They need to, but
- 50:33they don't want to." They said, "Why are
- 50:35you buying it?" I said, "Because here's
- 50:37the thing. If something happens to one
- 50:40of them, then now I'm in an emergency
- 50:42situation. This place ain't but one
- 50:45minute from my house that I ain't going
- 50:47to get that opportunity again. Honey, I
- 50:51got a handle on it. Hey, thank you,
- 50:54Jesus. I went from always being scared
- 50:57to open up bills. And it didn't happen
- 51:01overnight. All night Thursday, I was
- 51:04scared to answer the phone. All night
- 51:06Friday, I still owed a whole bunch of
- 51:09folk. all night Saturday. I wasn't sure
- 51:12I was going to pay it. But
- 51:16early
- 51:19early Sunday morning, I got up with a
- 51:24few dollars in my hand. I got up able to
- 51:28do what God called me to
- 51:30do. And it ain't just for me.
- 51:37Oh, no. It took some time.
- 51:40Ooh, but you talking about frolicking
- 51:42now.
- 51:45They laughed at me cuz I wore them same
- 51:46pair of jeans.
- 51:49Mhm. Sure did. I ain't shamed.
- 51:53What? Why? Everybody was laughing
- 51:55because I had on the same pair of jeans
- 51:57and t-shirt. You're tucking a couple
- 52:00dollars
- 52:01aside. I wore my same black tennis shoes
- 52:03so much. Bae named them.
- 52:09He said, "Yeah, she got the Bishop Roses
- 52:11on today."
- 52:15No, that's what they did. Same truck, 10
- 52:18years, same jeans, same
- 52:21t-shirt. But guess who's retiring in
- 52:25peace? I feel like Disney
- 52:28World. Do you understand what I'm
- 52:30saying? You said, "Bishop, I don't I'm
- 52:32gone." Come on, walk with me, John. You
- 52:34said, "Bishop, where am I? Time to get
- 52:36started. Look in your house and see what
- 52:38you can't sell. Sell some of that mess.
- 52:41Some of us got jewelry. We ain't going
- 52:42to never wear that jewelry. You ain't
- 52:43going to wear that jewelry. Go get rid
- 52:45of that stuff. Get that $1,000. Tuck it
- 52:48aside. You say, "Well, I'm scared. I'll
- 52:50spend it." Find somebody that, you know,
- 52:53they'll get there. Find that aunt. She
- 52:55ain't going to never give it back.
- 52:59I'm just trying to get y'all to see.
- 53:01Yeah, I know it don't seem spiritual to
- 53:03you, but I'm telling you,
- 53:06these are the kinds of lessons that when
- 53:09you turn your love for Jesus and your
- 53:11faith on these situations, God can
- 53:14change it. I'm telling you, I'm a
- 53:17witness of it.
- 53:20He's faithful. Come on, Doc. Come on.
- 53:23So, let's give God praise for his
