The Missouri Department of Transportation reports that Missouri is trending towards a decline in roadway fatalities for the third straight year. Currently down 2% from last year, Jon Nelson, State Highway Safety and Traffic Engineer at MoDOT, says it is important to maintain this trend as we head into the busy driving season of post-Labor Day, football tailgates, and the holiday season.
