- 0:27This is Boxing Before Dark. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing.
- 0:30Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Before. Before.
- 0:35Before. Before. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing
- 0:38Before Dark. Dark. This is Boxing Before Dark.
- 0:48You're really sad. Yeah, I saw that. I was like,
- 0:51man. That was my first Batman, was Val Kilmer.
- 0:57Yeah, Val Kilmer was one of my Hollywood crushes
- 1:02as a kid. I can see why. He's a very handsome
- 1:05dude. It's going to sound like a weird role to
- 1:09choose. But him as Doc Holliday in Tombstone.
- 1:14I absolutely see why that would be. I said this
- 1:19to somebody and they're like, you mean the sick
- 1:21dying version of Val Kilmer. Yeah, but he was
- 1:25dying in a hot way. Oh. So was that like Florence
- 1:31Nightingale kind of thing? No, I don't think
- 1:34so. I think Val Kilmer is a good -looking man,
- 1:37and I like Tombstone the movie. It's a great,
- 1:41great movie. I've been trying to find it to re
- 1:44-watch it, but it's not on any of the streamers.
- 1:47I can oblige. Nice. Oh, man. I remember... Was
- 1:52he top secret? Do you know Top Secret? No, I
- 1:57don't know about Top Secret. One second. I can't
- 2:00remember if that's him or Johnny Depp. I can't
- 2:03tell from the... Yeah. Okay, Top Secret is like
- 2:07airplane style comedy, but James Bond -ish. Anyways,
- 2:15you should go find it. Kind of, but different.
- 2:19Yeah, airplane style versus the really... overtly
- 2:24campy type of shit that Austin Powers did. What's
- 2:28the little blurb they give? My Google's back
- 2:32to being in Japanese and I don't know why. Okay,
- 2:36top secret. An American rock and roll singer
- 2:38is invited to a cultural festival in East Germany
- 2:41in order to distract from a plot to destroy NATO
- 2:43submarines, but he accidentally becomes involved
- 2:46in a resistance plot to rescue an imprisoned
- 2:48scientist. okay all right val kilmer is the rock
- 2:54and roll star but like at one point he's crawling
- 2:57through a field and he like crawls up to a pair
- 3:01of boots and they're just boots in a field and
- 3:04then he does it again but the boots move but
- 3:09it's a cow wearing rubber boots what the hell
- 3:12okay yeah this is you have to go find it this
- 3:15sounds like um Get Him to the Greek meets Austin
- 3:20Powers. I haven't seen it for decades, but I
- 3:24think that is probably pretty fair. I just remember
- 3:28it feeling like Airplane. Like that stupid kind
- 3:33of, yeah. That's what Austin Powers is. That's
- 3:36really silly. Kung Pao, Enter the Fist. Yeah.
- 3:41That type of silliness. It's Val Kilmer being
- 3:45a comedy star and not like an action star. Or
- 3:49drama type. Yeah. Yeah. Because like Batman Forever
- 3:54felt a lot more like a drama than it did like
- 3:59a Batman action movie. The same way some of the
- 4:02others did. Yeah. Man. He's been really sick
- 4:06for a while though. I guess it's not. Yeah. It
- 4:09was like pneumonia for like the third time or
- 4:12something. yeah well he had throat cancer or
- 4:16whatever like a long time ago didn't he that's
- 4:19why he quit acting he could hardly talk anymore
- 4:21i didn't know that that's that was years ago
- 4:27that makes it makes sense that that way like
- 4:31he was in what was that movie like uh gruber
- 4:33or something like mcgruber yeah some shit it
- 4:37was like a cheesy action movie And he was the
- 4:42big bad in that one. He had a big scar from surgery.
- 4:47That's why he always wore scarves at the end.
- 4:50Oh, I see. In that one, he let it be visible.
- 4:56And it was part of his big bad persona. Nice.
- 5:01Yeah, I remember that. I remember because MacGruber...
- 5:06The movie was MacGruber. Man, who was the 80s
- 5:14star, like would fix anything with like a paper
- 5:18clip and a rubber band? MacGyver. MacGyver. So
- 5:21it was like MacGruber was like a play on MacGyver.
- 5:24And we had a guy in my unit at the time. His
- 5:27name was Gruber. So he just became MacGruber.
- 5:31And he had no say in it as much as he disliked
- 5:35it. The more he complained, the more it became
- 5:38cemented. Of course. Yep. Sorry, group. Man,
- 5:46is this a good time for like a little formal
- 5:52intro? Where's your soju and soju drop shots?
- 5:57Drop shot drinks. I could go grab my soju, but
- 6:01it's peach flavored. I have purple punch big
- 6:05sips. Nice. pre -game cocktail pound one before
- 6:12you go into wherever you're going and save yourself
- 6:15a little yep little drink ball bombs isn't there
- 6:19one that's like balls okay yep yeah i thought
- 6:25there was one that was also something bombs and
- 6:28they look like little cartoony bombs maybe i
- 6:32am gonna get my soju yeah do it it's saturday
- 6:35i'll be right back yep Oh, boy. Oh, it's a party
- 6:41now. I had a Korean guy making fun of me because
- 6:46I buy the flavored one, man. OK, well, it probably
- 6:51helped when I lived in Korea that I would always
- 6:55like I'd go shopping with my girlfriend. And
- 6:58so like if I bought anything, quote unquote,
- 7:01girly, nobody would ever say anything. Yeah.
- 7:04Well, also, I'm a girl, so. Yeah, no shit. Like,
- 7:08what the fuck? Like, I could buy girly shit because
- 7:10I had a girl with me. You're a girl buying girly
- 7:14shit. What's the fucking deal? Yeah, who cares?
- 7:17But also, they are still, what are they, 10 %
- 7:21alcohol? They're like regular wines. Yeah, they're
- 7:26like 10 % to 15 % depending on which one you
- 7:28get. I can't actually find it on here because
- 7:33it's all in Japanese. I think this one's 13%.
- 7:36Anyways, doesn't matter. Not the point. I just
- 7:39buy them like wine coolers. With the flavored
- 7:42ones, yeah. You could get like a really strong
- 7:45wine cooler. So I was just, you know, I grabbed
- 7:49a bag of chips and I think two of the sojus.
- 7:54I was like, fuck it. I'm going to get tipsy tonight.
- 7:57And this guy's like, oh, drinking the girly drinks.
- 8:01And I was like, yup. As opposed to what? Any
- 8:05drink that I get, if I'm a girl, any drink I
- 8:09get is a girly drink. It doesn't matter. I could
- 8:12get the dumpster water flavored something or
- 8:17other, and it would still be girly. Oh, fuck.
- 8:22Speaking of girls' drinks, they have... uh jim
- 8:26beam peach flavored whiskey yeah you mentioned
- 8:29that yeah i still can't find my crown royal i'm
- 8:33pissed you know crown royal with the flavored
- 8:38stuff they make uh canned cocktails and there's
- 8:42they have a peach one an apple one and then like
- 8:45a regular uh crown and coke nice yeah they make
- 8:50just like peach flavored crown royal yeah i'm
- 8:53familiar I think it's still 40%. Like, I don't
- 8:57think they water it down very much. No, they
- 8:58don't. And it's fucking dangerous. I know. I
- 9:02know. I've had some wild nights with Crown Royal.
- 9:06Me and one of my friends bought, like, the regular
- 9:10-sized bottle, a 2 -6 or whatever, and we accidentally
- 9:13drank the whole thing. And I was like, how does
- 9:16this fucking happen as an accident? I was so
- 9:19wrecked. Didn't make it home, slept on his floor
- 9:23with his dog, woke up the next day, hung over
- 9:26his fuck, and I'm like, but it tastes like peaches.
- 9:29It tastes like peach juice. That's what it tastes
- 9:32like. For the uninitiated, like crown, peach
- 9:38crown is like the syrup that's inside of like
- 9:42canned peaches. Just a little, not as thick,
- 9:46but it is that sweet. It's so good. And it's
- 9:51really dangerous. It's built for making cocktails,
- 9:55but I'm a lazy piece of shit, so I just drink
- 9:58it on ice. Well, all right. Let me give us a
- 10:05little formal introduction here. Boxing before
- 10:08dark. Boxing before dark. I decided to put in
- 10:13a little X on the... I don't know if you noticed,
- 10:17but rather than being BBD, because, you know,
- 10:21you know, it's BXBD now, but still fun. Boxing
- 10:26before dark. It's all the boxing and a lot more
- 10:31fun. Like crown peach fun. I get so off topic.
- 10:37We had to just get me away from the main show.
- 10:41No, it's not just you. Something I noticed that
- 10:45happened with Drip a lot is we would have a lot
- 10:48of stuff in the weeds, and he'd be like, what
- 10:52the fuck are you guys talking about? I'm like,
- 10:55hey, this is important. But then I realized it's
- 10:59not important. At all. Nobody gives a shit. So
- 11:04that's Boxing Before Dark. We're here to talk
- 11:06about the shit that may not make a regular podcast.
- 11:10But still, if you want to get... further into
- 11:14the weeds than boxing b -sides we're here to
- 11:18get you nice and uh crawling through the fields
- 11:21up to some rubber boots top secret style top
- 11:26secret uh all right um so first things first
- 11:34farmer tevin farmer reveals that he has tourette
- 11:37syndrome I want you to gloat. Go ahead. You called
- 11:41it. I fucking called this. You called it. I called
- 11:43this. Everybody was telling me it was all in
- 11:46my head, that there was nothing going on. You're
- 11:48seeing things. No, you're overthinking it. It's
- 11:54not that big a deal. Not some sort of neural
- 11:57damage, but definitely a clear tick that I did
- 12:03not make up. I fucking called it. I noticed the
- 12:07tick. I just wasn't sure if it was as bad as
- 12:11you were thinking it was. It's pretty bad. It
- 12:16is very noticeable. For people who are saying
- 12:20you were making it up, it's like, man, are you
- 12:23watching Tevin Farmer? Are we watching the same
- 12:26person right now? Because there's clearly something
- 12:28going on. I am glad that it's something not damage
- 12:34-related. Yeah, it's more innocuous than... something
- 12:38else but i do think it did get worse after his
- 12:43um jojo diaz after jojo diaz fight yeah and that's
- 12:48when he took that long time off so i wonder if
- 12:50they weren't trying to get him dialed in on i
- 12:54don't know is there even medicine for torrents
- 12:56not the type that's gonna get you to stop ticking
- 12:59you it'll it'll uh dampen it but not not to the
- 13:05point that it disappears Right. I wonder if he
- 13:09needed some time to dial in something that let
- 13:13him keep boxing. How to channel your tick. Yeah.
- 13:17Rather than letting it be a tell. And the fucking
- 13:22announcers keep saying he's looking up at the
- 13:24score clock or the time clock or whatever. And
- 13:27I'm like, no, he's not, guys. That is not what
- 13:29this is. Man. Anyways, I have queued up. the
- 13:37voice thing insert here vindication all right
- 13:44vindication i love brooklyn 99 oh i've been meaning
- 13:49to watch that you've never seen it it's really
- 13:52good highly recommend it i'm still uh trying
- 13:55to work my way through modern family which is
- 13:57100 up my alley and i know brooklyn 99 is too
- 14:02i've seen Some of Modern Family, but I've never
- 14:06sat down and watched it. Oh, while we're in the
- 14:10weeds again, the second season of Windbreaker
- 14:13has started. The teen school gang fighting anime
- 14:18I like. Oh, yeah. Fucking first episode of season
- 14:22two just starts with an all out gang war. And
- 14:26you're like, what the hell happened? How did
- 14:28we get here? How did we go from the end of season
- 14:30one to this? I mean, it kind of makes sense,
- 14:33but also just like no buildup at all. It's just,
- 14:38all right, guess we're busting in and kicking
- 14:41the shit out of these guys. Rather than like
- 14:43an upward checkmark, we're checkmarking down
- 14:47and we're going to dip from here and then build
- 14:50back up to something else. I think it's just
- 14:53we're going to start at the top and fucking buckle
- 14:56in, boys. Because, yeah, we're going. we're going
- 15:00top speed yeah uh fire force is also getting
- 15:07season three but it's been so long since season
- 15:10two i gotta re -watch it season one i've seen
- 15:13like six times these sound directing i don't
- 15:16know what you call that it's amazing in fire
- 15:19force they use like negative sound somehow i
- 15:22don't know how to describe it yeah super cool
- 15:25that's yeah that sounds actually pretty interesting
- 15:28The sound mixing is the best in anime, and the
- 15:33visuals are cool. The world's cool. I just really
- 15:36like Fire Force. Well, speaking of sound, should
- 15:41they let boxers avoid the post -fight interview
- 15:45in the ring immediately after the fight? I think
- 15:50yes. I think so too. If they don't want to take
- 15:53it, they shouldn't have to. I like... Because
- 15:57that was Claudia Trejo, right? Yes. I put this
- 16:01on to discuss because Farmer said he didn't want
- 16:04to do the interview. He said twice and was trying
- 16:07to walk away, and they told him he had to. And
- 16:09then people got mad about what he had to say.
- 16:13He warned you twice. Yeah, and he didn't even
- 16:19say anything that bad. No, nothing that was all
- 16:22that questionable. He said what you would expect
- 16:26from a guy who just lost a super close fight
- 16:30for the second time. He said all the things that
- 16:34you would expect. I don't know what I have to
- 16:39do to get the judges on my side. Of course, I'm
- 16:44going to lose in his hometown. All the hallmarks
- 16:51of what you'd expect. I don't see why people
- 16:54would be upset about what he said. Well, and
- 16:57he even opened it up with the generic, like,
- 17:00I am not mad at Zepeda. Zepeda's a good fighter.
- 17:04He did what he's supposed to do. But, like, just
- 17:07let the guy go be angry and interview him at
- 17:10the end. Didn't they let one of the Malonis just
- 17:15walk out of the ring and go cry and pout? tantrum
- 17:20tantrum yeah tantrum in the fucking dressing
- 17:23room come on man i don't know why they stopped
- 17:28farmer he was trying to walk away and they stopped
- 17:31him and then he's like i don't want to do this
- 17:33and they're like and then they're like oh but
- 17:38you know you can't be mad at boxing Uh, no, I
- 17:42can be bad at correction. I am mad at boxing.
- 17:46I am not mad at like Williams of Peta. It's not
- 17:50the same shit that we say. Like I say anyway,
- 17:55with robberies is like, um, just, just an example.
- 18:00Um, in over on the MMA side, there's this guy
- 18:04named, uh, Bautista who ended up winning a very.
- 18:09obviously shitty decision and so like i later
- 18:16on we're talking about like who's he gonna fight
- 18:19next what are his next options and then we're
- 18:22i i'm always thinking of what how can i get his
- 18:26ass beat the most Because he needs to fucking
- 18:30pay for the shitty decision that had nothing
- 18:34to do with him. Not at all his fault. He did
- 18:37not make the judges do anything. But he was the
- 18:41beneficiary. So, he has to suffer for it. Which
- 18:46is also shitty. It is. 90 % of the time, the
- 18:50sponsors have done absolutely nothing. It's not
- 18:53Zepeda's fault. It's not over on the MMA guy,
- 18:57Bautista. It's not his fault. He didn't make
- 19:00the judges do anything. But. But he's the one
- 19:04that has to pay for it because he's the one that
- 19:06benefited from it. And he's the one that's going
- 19:09to be in the ring. Right. Yeah. It's unfortunate.
- 19:13Maybe we should put the judges that gave him
- 19:15that shitty decision into the ring or the cage
- 19:19or whatever. Like, okay, you want to score it?
- 19:23You want to score it 8 -4 for Zepeda? How about
- 19:26Tevin Farmer? He's about to give you an 8 -4.
- 19:30How about that? Yeah, he gets 8 -4 minutes, depending
- 19:33how long you live. Yeah, 8 -4 minutes, and that's
- 19:37what he's going to get on you. And then we'll
- 19:39see how you score the next one. If you score
- 19:44the next one. I don't know. I don't know how
- 19:48you fix it. You can't, but... I do feel bad for
- 19:53Farmer. I do too. Anybody who was talking shit
- 19:56about him, oh, well, everybody who loses calls
- 20:00a robbery or whatever they were saying online.
- 20:03I'm just like, man, give the man his hour to
- 20:06get his shit together for the post -fight interview.
- 20:10And he was so gracious in his little defeat interview.
- 20:18Yeah. He was super gracious, very... uh congratulatory
- 20:24to zapata like like okay if the judges gave it
- 20:28to you the judges gave it to you congratulations
- 20:30you're like hell of a fighter fucking trademark
- 20:35tip my hat off to him that type of stuff but
- 20:38and and then he went off on boxing as an institution
- 20:42and that that's the type of shit like That's
- 20:47the stuff that a lot of people don't, like, I
- 20:49don't know. Do they not want to hear it? Are
- 20:51they not ready to hear it? What do you think?
- 20:54It's just politics, isn't it? Right. Yeah, you're
- 20:57right. It's politics. And anybody who agrees
- 20:59with him is going to agree with him. And anybody
- 21:01who doesn't agree with him is just going to be,
- 21:04oh, he's just a sore loser. Honestly, this fight,
- 21:06I don't think Farmer deserved a win. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:10The first fight, I scored for him. But this fight,
- 21:13he got hurt. or whatever, and he just had to
- 21:19take some rounds off in the beginning slash middle.
- 21:22And him being hurt and plus taking the rounds
- 21:27off in the immediate aftermath, that was the
- 21:30deciding factor the same way the knockdown was
- 21:35in the first one, right? Yeah, well, and I do
- 21:38think he got another knockdown that they call
- 21:41the slam. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I can see why
- 21:48he's... I can see why he's really upset. Yeah.
- 21:53Well, and... Farmer really has not gotten any
- 21:57of his just dues for these two Zepeda fights.
- 22:02Everybody's like, man, Zepeda fucking sucks.
- 22:05Like, he's been exposed. He's terrible because
- 22:09Farmer dropped him. And I'm like, Farmer's good,
- 22:11guys. Right! I don't understand the farmer hate.
- 22:17Do you not fucking remember how many years ago
- 22:21was it now that people were talking about Tevin
- 22:24Farmer is the one to beat Tank? That's what people
- 22:28were talking about. Honestly, I think he could
- 22:32still hurt Tank. Farmer's chin is not going to
- 22:36hold up. He will lose, but he could make Tank
- 22:39look bad. If Roach can do what he did. Farmer's
- 22:44more guts. Yeah. Farmer could have similar levels
- 22:51of success. I don't think he beats him the same
- 22:54way that Roach did, which Roach did beat Gervonta
- 22:58Davis. Make no mistake about that. If Roach can
- 23:05do that, win a close decision, I don't see, I
- 23:09think Tank or Farmer could have Tank. giving
- 23:15him a lot of fits, giving him a lot of trouble.
- 23:18I think Farmer would lay hands on Tank. We would
- 23:20see if Tank actually has a chin. Not that Farmer
- 23:24hits that hard. That's one thing he is lacking.
- 23:27He is not a power puncher, but we would see if
- 23:32Tank can take a punch or if he's just going to
- 23:35take another knee that somehow doesn't get fucking
- 23:38counted. He's not a knockdown. It's not a knockdown.
- 23:42It's not a submission. I don't even know what
- 23:47you call them. It's just the fight continues
- 23:51as is. Fucking bullshit. For anybody who might
- 24:00be thinking, because Farmer, his last three decisions
- 24:05have been on the... He's gotten the short end
- 24:10of the stick. The last three times. Moritaya,
- 24:15super close. Arguable that he won. I don't think
- 24:19he did. Zepeda won. He won. Super close. Arguable
- 24:25that he won. I think he won. And then Zepeda
- 24:302, super close. I think Zepeda won. In my first
- 24:35watch, I thought Farmer did enough, but... Looking
- 24:38back on it, like, eh, maybe not. Still. Yeah,
- 24:42I have no problem with Cepeda winning that second
- 24:44fight. Right. Still super close. This was the
- 24:49guy when Matchroom USA first started, which it
- 24:54doesn't exist anymore. But Matchroom USA, Tevin
- 24:57Farmer was the guy that they were talking about.
- 24:59This is the antidote to Tank. Yeah. And I don't
- 25:05think they're wrong. So don't, if you're thinking
- 25:09like, ah, Tevin Farmer's garbage, whatever, he's
- 25:13washed, whatever the fuck. I don't think so.
- 25:18Yeah, I don't think he's done. Not at all. Not
- 25:21at all. And his, whatever neurological issues
- 25:24that we were worried he might have had, not that
- 25:28big of a deal. Apparently. Yeah. It's not the
- 25:32worst. There are, like, Luis Lopez Venado recently
- 25:39had a fight, and that was... Yeah, I couldn't
- 25:42even find that to watch. It was on YouTube Live,
- 25:45but it finished super quick. It's like the guy
- 25:51didn't even give any opposition. He was there
- 25:54to get paid, and that was about it. Right. But
- 26:00that guy, Luis Lopez, that would be someone I'm
- 26:04like, ugh. Let's maybe rethink our career choices
- 26:10here. That's a good segue to if we skip one.
- 26:15All right. So I was watching interviews for Hergovich
- 26:22and Joyce. And Hergovich had the funniest line.
- 26:28Maybe it's his accent. Maybe it's the delivery.
- 26:31But they're like, what? do you have for Joe Joyce?
- 26:35And he's like, punches are not vitamins. Do not
- 26:40stay in boxing too long. And I was like, yes.
- 26:43This is my new catchphrase. Punches are not vitamins.
- 26:50It's a good one. Joe Joyce has, like, the juggernaut
- 26:57moniker comes from his just taking punches that's
- 27:04yeah and he walks through him his non -defense
- 27:08like joy joyce is there to be hit he gets hit
- 27:13a lot right and i i really like joe joyce i really
- 27:18hope he does something here but then i don't
- 27:22know what that leads to either so hope uh yeah
- 27:26this is their both of their their bids to stay
- 27:31at the world level. Um, yeah, I don't know. I
- 27:36feel like Herkovich would do well at the Europe,
- 27:40like the European, the continental kind of level.
- 27:44And Joe Joyce, probably the same. Like I, it's
- 27:47like they're fighting for a position that neither
- 27:49of them really deserve, or I don't know about
- 27:52maybe deserves not the right word, but that neither
- 27:55of them really rate. They don't, they don't have.
- 27:59the appropriate merit if that's the better way
- 28:04to put it but I mean like if fucking Derek Chisora
- 28:07is getting another belt getting another chance
- 28:12at a belt maybe Joe Joyce can too it's one of
- 28:18the with the current crop like the age of the
- 28:20current crop Derek Chisora is one of the few
- 28:24that I could call unk yeah Like, dude, it's about
- 28:30time. Like, what the fuck are you thinking about?
- 28:34I know you think you can with this next one.
- 28:37Does he, though? I don't think he does. I think
- 28:40Derek Chisora is cashing out. He had his fucking
- 28:44retirement speech all written out and planned.
- 28:47He did it with Otto Wally? Yeah, and then he
- 28:48won the fight. Yeah. I think it was expecting
- 28:52to win, to be honest with you. But not get a
- 28:56fucking mandatory shot at the IBF world title.
- 29:00Well, UK is one of the ones that, like, they
- 29:04play heavily into the IBF because rankings matter
- 29:09over there. And as long as you're not one or
- 29:12two, you can grease your way into any slot that
- 29:18you want, really. And I think that's what's happening
- 29:21with Joe Joyce. Or not Joe Joyce, with Derek
- 29:25Chisora and Daniel Dubois. Is Chisora not ranked
- 29:32number one? I think he's ranked number one by
- 29:36the IBF. If he is, I'm going to have to retract
- 29:40everything that I just said. Let me... What do
- 29:47we got here? IBF. rankings i guess is what i
- 29:51need to type in i am so tired hold on i am i'm
- 29:56a little bit um i have them saved just because
- 30:01it's a good idea but okay so number one is not
- 30:07rated but derek chizora is the top rated heavyweight
- 30:11by the idf he is number one or number two these
- 30:16are the ones that get enforced Why are they listing
- 30:21him as Zimbabwe? Must be where his heritage?
- 30:29I thought Chisora was born in the UK. I thought
- 30:35he was British, but Dillian White is Jamaican.
- 30:40That's how they label him, is Jamaican. Oh, no,
- 30:46Chizora was born in Zimbabwe, according to BoxRec.
- 30:49Sounds British enough for me. Like, anytime I
- 30:52hear him speak, he sounds British as shit. Yeah,
- 30:57I just didn't realize. I don't either. I guess
- 31:00that's... I guess we gotta cheer for Chizora
- 31:05now. Man, I can't even... I could barely tell
- 31:06the difference... I always cheer for Chizora.
- 31:07I could barely tell the difference between, like,
- 31:09a fucking Manchester or Liverpool... or blackpool
- 31:16or whatever different parts of the uk i can barely
- 31:19tell the difference between them so if there's
- 31:21a zimbabwe born british person i'm not sorry
- 31:28that i didn't recognize if he had a different
- 31:30accent because he sounds british to me apparently
- 31:34he was in zimbabwe all through school well Chisora
- 31:40and his family moved to the UK in 1999 when he
- 31:44was 16. 16? Yeah. Well, you all sound the same
- 31:54to me, British people. His family must have had
- 31:55relative money. They sent him to an all -boys
- 31:59boarding school. Yeah, that sounds like they
- 32:02would have money. I'm going to chalk that up
- 32:07to... To save face for myself, I'm going to chalk
- 32:13that up to I don't hear differences in accents.
- 32:17I just hear British United Kingdom citizens speaking.
- 32:24Yeah, he's not American. That's all I can know.
- 32:29Yeah, well, I'm learning the different accents
- 32:34of like the Canadian accents. I'm getting better.
- 32:39Yeah. I can pick out parts of Canada pretty good.
- 32:43Of course. I can pick out parts of the U .S.
- 32:45easily, but it's... I'm going to just bolster
- 32:52myself, gas myself up a little bit. I don't look
- 32:55at you guys. I don't hear your accents and think,
- 32:59that's this person or that region or that region.
- 33:03I just hear my British friends, my United Kingdom
- 33:07friends. speaking. That's all I hear. I still
- 33:12have trouble with the difference between England
- 33:14and Britain. Still haven't quite nailed that
- 33:17down. I'm never sure which one to use. I think
- 33:22those are the same. They're not. There is a difference,
- 33:25but I can't remember what it is. Britain includes
- 33:28Wales or something? It's the British Isles. So,
- 33:33like, yeah. Britain includes Wales because it's
- 33:37on the same island. I think. Okay, but England
- 33:42does not. England is a part of it. England is
- 33:45the smallest. It's a part of the isle. But not
- 33:52the full island. And then the UK includes Scotland?
- 33:56Yes, and Northern Ireland. Yeah. I just remember
- 34:04this because I saw a video recently. It's this
- 34:07guy who does like flag and nation trivia. And
- 34:14it's like, oh, what are the four nations of the
- 34:16United Kingdom? It is. I just in my mind, I said
- 34:21Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. And then
- 34:27the response. His response was wrong. It's Northern
- 34:33Ireland. I mean, it is. It is, yes. But also,
- 34:39suck my balls. Like, are you... My favorite history
- 34:44flag trivia. Do you know why Northern Ireland
- 34:49has the red hand on their flag? No. Okay, so
- 34:55I can't remember his name. But there were two
- 34:58kings. or noblemen of some sort that were racing
- 35:04and the first person to touch the land got to
- 35:09claim it and he cut off his fucking hand and
- 35:13threw it so he touched it first so it's the red
- 35:16hand of ulster because he cut off his hand and
- 35:19just hopped it and he's like fucking touched
- 35:22it it's mine bitches hilarious And we had the
- 35:30troubles because of that. Yeah. But yeah, that's
- 35:35why it's got a red band. Jesus. The only flag
- 35:42trivia I really know. I don't know any flag trivia.
- 35:46I just recognize what they're attached to. But
- 35:50let's just fucking carry on. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry.
- 35:56No, no, no worries. Wilder versus Ngannou. Yeah.
- 36:04It's in the works. Is it really? Yeah. If Wilder
- 36:09gets past his next fight, which, given who it
- 36:13is, chances are likely that he will. And then
- 36:19Wilder versus Ngannou. Huh. I don't know, man.
- 36:24Wilder looks... so shit last time out. Ngannou
- 36:27might tag him. It's worrisome. I don't feel as
- 36:33confident as I normally would about Wilder's
- 36:38chances as I usually would. Ngannou made Fury
- 36:42look hittable, and Wilder has way less defense.
- 36:48And he doesn't have the killer instinct anymore,
- 36:51apparently. opened his third eye and connected
- 36:56with the gods or whatever so he i don't know
- 36:59man the bronze bomber is gone now we got the
- 37:04we have deontay wilder that's what we have now
- 37:08it it's just that's what we have left is some
- 37:13guy from mobile alabama the the professional
- 37:16fighter not The bronze bomber who was like the
- 37:21professional fucking in -ring killer. Yeah. No.
- 37:25That's what we have left. You can't yell bomb
- 37:28squad anymore. It's just, it's done. I don't
- 37:32think so. As much as I want to. Because. That's
- 37:37funny shit. He was our, our heavyweight hope
- 37:41here over in the U .S. That, man, I. Oh, God.
- 37:45The great American hope. He was the great American
- 37:48hope. I cannot express in words how much I believed
- 37:54in him and how he was going to be the one. He
- 37:58is the one. He is the one. He is going to take
- 38:02American heavyweight boxing back into its glory
- 38:06days. I believed it. I cannot. And for a while,
- 38:13he did. To be honest, he did. And he did, but
- 38:18it's like, man. I talked my boyfriend at the
- 38:22time into going out to a bar with me to watch
- 38:24Wilder Fury 2. And I was like, there's no fucking
- 38:28way Wilder wins this one. I was like, Fury's
- 38:30going to win, whatever. But we got to the bar
- 38:35and it was so quiet in there. There was like
- 38:38no atmosphere at all. People were there to watch.
- 38:41Like you paid a cover to come in and watch the
- 38:43pay -per -view. It's the only reason anyone was
- 38:46there, and it was fucking dead silent before
- 38:49the fight started. And me and my ex, we fed off
- 38:55each other really in sometimes a fun way, sometimes
- 38:57not so fun. And I walked in, and I was like,
- 39:00no, we just got to yell bomb squad, and everybody
- 39:02is going to, like, hate us. He's like, but you
- 39:05said he's going to lose. I'm like, fuck it. And
- 39:07we walked in. And so you paid your cover, you
- 39:12walked down a small hallway, and you went in
- 39:14to where they had the fight playing. And there
- 39:17was just like regular bar bullshit on the other
- 39:19side. And as we walked through that second door,
- 39:21we both just yelled bomb squad. And people turned
- 39:25and started yelling at us, telling us why we
- 39:28were wrong. And I was like, yes. Oh, man. I knew
- 39:32we were wrong, but you just got to stir the pot
- 39:35sometimes. I took it so far that I placed like
- 39:40$40 worth of bets with people and lost all my
- 39:42money. But fuck it. Strictly for vibes. As long
- 39:47as I throw a smoke bomb into the hornet's nest,
- 39:51it'll be fun. Worth it. It's $40. I got guys
- 39:58yelling at us enough that they just bought us
- 40:00pitchers of beer. I'm pretty sure beer to...
- 40:03That's lost ratio. I came out even. Yeah, if
- 40:06people are buying you drinks for the sake of
- 40:09you, just because you are wrong, right? Very
- 40:15Canadian thing to do. I would take it. I would
- 40:19take the same thing. If I'm walking into a bar
- 40:25and I'm yelling bomb squad and everybody's looking
- 40:28at me like, you're a moron. Like, okay, well,
- 40:32let's just see who's favorable or friendly anyway.
- 40:40And we'll just be chatting and buying drinks
- 40:45for each other. Yeah, I was betting five bucks
- 40:49against people, however many times that is, like
- 40:53eight times. And they all just bought drinks.
- 40:55Yeah, of course. Fuck yeah. Of course. I would
- 40:59be. antagonizing people into buying me drinks
- 41:03all the time as well. What's that? Bomb squad.
- 41:08Oh, what's that? Your mother bomb squad is what
- 41:12I mean. I don't know how much that's going to
- 41:17antagonize anybody, but that's what we're doing.
- 41:20Cause I think it only works if you, if it might
- 41:24be because I'm a girl, I hate to play that card,
- 41:26but it might be because I'm a girl. It might.
- 41:29Like, oh, isn't she cute? She watches boxing.
- 41:33Oh, she thinks she knows boxing. She thinks she
- 41:37knows boxing. Oh, you know him because he's a
- 41:41knockout guy. That's the only reason that you
- 41:44care about him. 100%. And they're like, oh, well,
- 41:48who are your five favorite boxers? And you know
- 41:51me. They were all fucking tiny little men. And
- 41:53the guys are sitting there on their phones like.
- 41:56Oh, yeah, this guy, he fights at 120. Who the
- 41:59fuck has heard of this man? Fenito Lopez, Salvador
- 42:03Sanchez. Do you know who Roman Gonzalez is? Have
- 42:08you heard of that name? Like, it's that type
- 42:10of, like... Yeah, yeah. Well, it was... When
- 42:14was that? That would have been 2019, I think.
- 42:202020 before COVID hit, maybe. Anyways, I listed,
- 42:26in a way, as one of my favorites. And somebody
- 42:28legit said, nobody watches the fucking victim
- 42:31weights. What are you doing? Oh, man. So then
- 42:38I listed all my favorite fighters under 127 pounds.
- 42:43All the victim weights. Yeah. Which, for the
- 42:51person listening, victim weights came up. When
- 42:55was that? Was that on the previous B -Sides?
- 43:00That might have been B -Sides. I think it was
- 43:02B -Sides. That was the previous time that came
- 43:05up. Nobody watches the victim weights. Like,
- 43:09I'm going to make you a victim weight. Yeah.
- 43:13I don't know if you realize how, like, big I
- 43:15actually am. Anyways. I love shutting up dickheads
- 43:23in bars. It's great. I kind of miss yelling at
- 43:28people living in Japan. I miss yelling at strangers.
- 43:32I bet you can only do that in the expat bars.
- 43:36Nah, you can't even do it there. Really? Well,
- 43:39the bartenders don't really understand the difference
- 43:42between friendly arguments and arguments. Oh,
- 43:45I see. At least in Chiba City. Maybe in Tokyo
- 43:48I could get away with it. But where I live, it's
- 43:52a little smaller. And if you speak English loud
- 43:55and it's not like really friendly, obviously
- 43:58really friendly, you get told to leave. Oh, that's
- 44:02lame. Yeah. I get told to leave sometimes just
- 44:07because I speak English. Japan still does that
- 44:11if you're outside the areas. Yeah, yeah. I don't
- 44:20know. Speaking of Japan, we skipped the announcement.
- 44:23We did. Inoue versus Nakatani in 2026. Yeah,
- 44:29they said it at the Boxing Awards night here
- 44:33in Japan. This is making my balls tickle. Tokyo
- 44:38Dome. I might legitimately extend my contract
- 44:43just so I'm still in the country. I need it to
- 44:48be first half of 2026. I am very much interested
- 44:52in traveling for this. It would be worth it,
- 44:57I think. Yes. Just this headline is enough. But
- 45:04it's going to be a stacked card. Of course. Of
- 45:07course. They will stack the fuck out of that
- 45:09card. Because fuck you. Come to Japan for it.
- 45:14You want to watch it? Come to Japan. We got all
- 45:17types of shit that's going to entice you. Yeah,
- 45:20of course. Of course they're going to stack it.
- 45:23Like, oh, God. I really hope it's in the first
- 45:27half. The only thing I'm a little worried about
- 45:30is they're going to put it in cherry blossom
- 45:32season. And I don't know why that bothers me,
- 45:36but I do not want to have to deal with allergies.
- 45:41Well, and just Tokyo trains in cherry blossom
- 45:45season. Right, a lot of travelers. And not just
- 45:49foreigners. Like, Japanese people legit travel
- 45:54to Tokyo to see the cherry blossoms. Yeah, I
- 45:57mean exactly that. It's just people straight
- 46:01up traveling. To go to the Cherry Blossoms. Yeah.
- 46:05Yeah. Anyways, I am so stoked. That's really,
- 46:11that's, even, I have so many questions. Like,
- 46:16how are we guaranteeing that? What? Yeah, like,
- 46:22it's boxing. It might fall apart. Exactly. But
- 46:24I do, I do feel like the Japanese guys don't
- 46:28really make these announcements until it's relatively
- 46:30solid. Right. Right. They're not just yelling
- 46:33and calling people out. Like, Inoue and Nakatani
- 46:38have never even hinted that they were actually
- 46:41going to fight soon. Right. So there's no hints.
- 46:47There would be guarantees. Like, you have to
- 46:54win your fights up to this point. I don't think
- 47:00either of them said anything like that. I legitimately
- 47:04think they both were just like, yeah, we're going
- 47:08to fight next year. We both have fights lined
- 47:11up, but we're fighting next year. That's the
- 47:16part that I was worried about. Like, what happens
- 47:19if one of them loses? I'm not saying that they
- 47:26would. Would it matter, though? Would it matter
- 47:30to anyone if either of them had a loss? No. I
- 47:40wouldn't give a shit. I wouldn't give a shit.
- 47:42As long as it's these two guys. I don't give
- 47:46a shit. I don't give a shit. Nakatani could get
- 47:50stopped. Inoue could get stopped. I don't care.
- 47:54I don't care. I want to see Inoue and Nakatani
- 47:57fight. What's the wait? Did they tell what the
- 48:01weight is? Nakatani would come up, is my understanding.
- 48:04Of course. What you'd expect. I actually found
- 48:11an English article. I don't have to translate
- 48:13here. Okay, so the JBC annual awards gala where
- 48:24all of my boys were there looking super fucking
- 48:27dapper. punch burgers pictures are amazing everything
- 48:31about it i just love but uh and they they actually
- 48:36um had the the lady with the pink hair her real
- 48:42name is not mimi but that's what she calls herself
- 48:44mizuki mizuki yeah yeah that i i have never not
- 48:52that i've watched it that many times but i've
- 48:54never seen any women at the the japanese boxing
- 48:57commission and they they gave her an award good
- 49:00she she rates yeah she does 100 okay so during
- 49:07his acceptance speech inoue challenged nakatani
- 49:10to fight him in 2026 let's explode japanese boxing
- 49:15at the tokyo dome next year inua said Through
- 49:18an interpreter, or according to an interpreter,
- 49:21Nakatani rose from where he was sitting, went
- 49:24over, and shook his hand and said, let's do it.
- 49:27So, no details, but I really don't think they
- 49:33would do this on such a public stage. Even if
- 49:40it's just that handshake, they're not going to
- 49:43back out of it. I don't think so. No way. But,
- 49:47yeah, there's absolutely no dates or fucking
- 49:50anything. Yeah, well. But I assume Nakatani's
- 49:55going to come up. I think Inoue's going to hang
- 49:57around at whatever that is, 122? Yeah, 22. And
- 50:04wait for Nakatani to come up. That's a good fucking
- 50:08fight that everybody wants to see. Absolutely.
- 50:11Oh, I'm... For the audio audience, my boxing
- 50:19boner is just fucking ripping apart right now.
- 50:24That is exactly the kind of fight that I want
- 50:27to see. Fucking crazy. And they both fight soon.
- 50:31Right. So first half of 2026 lines up. I might
- 50:39still be in Tokyo. Well, in Tokyo. I might still
- 50:43be here. I might get to watch it live. Oh my
- 50:46God. I don't, I might have to. How are you going
- 50:49to secure tickets for the other people? Like
- 50:54there's going to be a lot of us that want to,
- 50:56that are going to want to come to that. I mean,
- 50:58I, they're going to put caps on how many you
- 51:03can buy. I assume, but I also have all the old
- 51:07businessmen that will buy tickets for me if I
- 51:10transfer the money. Yeah. I can get us tickets.
- 51:16I am confident about that. But Tokyo Dome is
- 51:19going to sell out. Oh, fuck. Of course it fucking
- 51:22is. Are you fucking kidding me? I would pay for
- 51:26a seat at the boxing bar. I would be willing
- 51:31to go to that level just to be in the city or
- 51:36in the prefecture when that goes down. Happens.
- 51:41Yeah. I just want to be there, dude. Speaking
- 51:46of the boxing bar, I have already had to reserve
- 51:50my seat for the next in a way fight when he fights
- 51:53in Vegas. It's not even that big of a fight.
- 51:55It's not. It isn't. But the the owner texted
- 52:00everyone in the group chat and he's like, reserve
- 52:03your seat now because it's first come first serve.
- 52:06He's like, it's OK if you guys cancel. he's like
- 52:10i'll fill it don't worry don't worry about that
- 52:13if you think you might want to come just tell
- 52:16me now and i'll save you a spot so i have a seat
- 52:21in tokyo but man that's gonna be at a shitty
- 52:25fucking time i think i'm gonna have to do the
- 52:27overnight thing i'm gonna have to catch the last
- 52:30train to tokyo and drink from midnight to probably
- 52:3510 a .m ish Oh, no. So terrible. Well, the fucking
- 52:44Saudi cards, I always fall asleep. They have
- 52:46to wake me up. Ah, well. Better you fall asleep
- 52:51there than... I don't know. I can't speak to
- 52:55how the... I've heard the anime bars are pretty
- 52:58safe if you have a room. Oh, yeah. No, the rooms
- 53:04are at least... You can pay to have a locking
- 53:07door. That's all fine. Okay, cool. Yeah. But
- 53:11no, this is just me, like, at the bar with a
- 53:14bunch of old men and being like, oh, shit. I
- 53:17just put my head down on the bar and sleeping
- 53:19like a student in class. But at the same time,
- 53:23like, you're, like, part of the circle, right?
- 53:27Yeah, yeah. No, nobody's going to fuck with me.
- 53:29Of course, no one's going to. Not in that bar.
- 53:33I wouldn't do it in other bars. Yeah, that's
- 53:35the thing that I'm thinking about. It's like,
- 53:38man... People get roofied here. People are always
- 53:43like, Japan is so safe. People get roofied here.
- 53:47That's a thing you have to worry about anyways.
- 53:49That's exactly what I was thinking about. People
- 53:55aren't going to steal your shit while you're
- 53:57roofied. What else is going to happen to you?
- 54:04That's the type of shit. Don't make me fly out
- 54:08to Japan to beat somebody up. You know, like
- 54:12touching you or something like that. I mean,
- 54:15the Japanese guys aren't that big. I could probably
- 54:17handle it myself. I'm sure you could. But a big
- 54:22old brown dude pounding your fucking face in
- 54:26has a little bit of a different delivery. It
- 54:31does. It does. I also think those 60 -year -old
- 54:35men that used to balk would also have something
- 54:39to say. I'm sure. But we don't have to get into
- 54:45the dick measuring. Yeah, I imagine a bunch of
- 54:50this is getting cut. Jesus, I have killed this
- 54:54bottle of soju. Oh, well, I was waiting. We're
- 54:57not even to review. We're not. I got this much
- 55:02left. Well, all right. I got one of my little
- 55:05buzz balls. Oh, I also have a beer, I think.
- 55:09I got a tall boy of Asahi. But I do have to go
- 55:13to work. Oh. Well, you probably should not have
- 55:19had that whole bottle of soju. Nah, it's fine.
- 55:22I just gotta count cultures on a plate for the
- 55:25Chinese girl. If I can still count to 100, I
- 55:30am good. Well, who can count to 100 anyway? I
- 55:36get one of the little clickers. All right. So
- 55:41we were at the Inouye Nakatani 2026. So I wanted
- 55:48to bring up Bevo Better BF2 sells 134K on pay
- 55:57-per -view. And I brought up other pay -per -view
- 56:01numbers for comparison. Sorry, how much? Because
- 56:06you said a different number than you have written
- 56:08down. $340 ,000. Right, you said $134 ,000. Did
- 56:13I? Wow, I'm not very good at this. $340 ,000.
- 56:19That is more than I thought. That is the Bevo
- 56:23Better Be Of Rematch pay -per -view number. So,
- 56:28for reference... Dinero Alvarez versus Berlanga
- 56:37sold $650 ,000. Gervonta Davis versus Lamont
- 56:45Roach was $260 ,000. David Benavidez versus David
- 56:50Murrell was $160 ,000. Now, the thing is that
- 56:55people are calling Dimitri Bivol versus Artur
- 57:00Beterbiev at $340 ,000. They're calling that
- 57:03a pay -per -view flop. Which is ridiculous. Well,
- 57:09the thing is that we have to consider how much
- 57:12they were paid for the event. Do we know? Like,
- 57:18Saudi's throwing money away. Everybody knows
- 57:21Saudi's throwing money away. True, true. So if
- 57:24you're going entirely on pay -per -view buys...
- 57:28It did better. Yeah, that is a really good number.
- 57:33In the post -Mayweather Pacquiao era, that 340
- 57:38is a solid number. It really is. So, well, and
- 57:45I don't think, how do I put this? They put too
- 57:48many big names on the same pay -per -view. But
- 57:51also, none of those were pay -per -view stars.
- 57:56There wasn't one pay -per -view star on that
- 57:59card. Not one. Not one. That was a degenerate
- 58:02card. In all honesty, that was a card that boxing
- 58:07fans knew a ton of names. But if you went on
- 58:10the street to casuals that actually do kind of
- 58:15watch boxing, they'll know Bivol and Beterbiev.
- 58:21Or Beterbiev. Yeah. I mean, nobody that isn't
- 58:29a hardcore fan knows who Joseph Parker is. That
- 58:34was something that people were pointing out with
- 58:38Benavidez vs. Morel. Was that Morel, of course,
- 58:43nobody knows who the fuck this guy is. Hardcore
- 58:47fans know who he is. Well, and I have a hard
- 58:51time judging because we're in our little echo
- 58:53chamber. Of course. What is what? But I... Like,
- 59:02Benavides. Janabek was the one. I was like, people
- 59:06know who Janabek is. Like, he's not popular,
- 59:09but people know who he is. And they're like,
- 59:11somebody was like, why? It's like, he's had multiple
- 59:15belts and defended them. And I'm like, yeah,
- 59:17but people don't know who the fuck he is. Yeah.
- 59:20I mean, morale. Morale. I think would fall into
- 59:25the same category as Johnny Beck. Morel had a
- 59:30fringe -ish title, but nonetheless, he has highlight
- 59:39reel performances. Yeah, but people know Shakur
- 59:46Stevenson's name, but nobody is excited to watch
- 59:49a Shakur fight. Nobody gives a fuck about Joseph
- 59:54Parker. I think... Zhang is a name if you watch
- 59:58boxing, but not really. Like, if you walked out
- 1:00:02to a crowd that says they casually watch boxing,
- 1:00:07who else was on this? Virgil Ortiz and Madrimov?
- 1:00:11Oh, don't make Alex upset. I'm just saying, like...
- 1:00:19These are not people that the average person
- 1:00:23knows. More people probably know who Callum Smith
- 1:00:27is than know who... Virgil Ortiz? No, I was going
- 1:00:33to say Carlos Adamas, but maybe not. I have no
- 1:00:37fucking scale of this. That's accurate. More
- 1:00:41people knowing who Callum Smith over Carlos Adamas?
- 1:00:44100 % accurate. Absolutely. So they're all names
- 1:00:49to you and me and all of our friends. We know
- 1:00:52who they are. Yeah, the Sickos, we know who they
- 1:00:55are. But none of these people are pay -per -view
- 1:00:58stars. No. The biggest name is Shakir Stevenson,
- 1:01:00and no one pays for a pay -per -view with him
- 1:01:02because he's boring as fuck. Man. So for that
- 1:01:08event to do 340K... I was thinking of this in
- 1:01:14the context of just wasted money, period. But
- 1:01:19in the context of the Saudis wasting money, that
- 1:01:26makes me happy. Whatever means the Saudi Arabians
- 1:01:31are losing, that makes me happy. Are you listening,
- 1:01:34Turkey? Are you going to get your fucking goons
- 1:01:37to come to my house? Go ahead. Go ahead. that's
- 1:01:42also news rumors whatever that turkey had an
- 1:01:45egyptian guy arrested arrested disappeared i
- 1:01:51have he had him he had him disappeared you want
- 1:01:56to come to my house buddy like that's that's
- 1:01:59up to you but uh i'm just gonna say 340k that's
- 1:02:03a solid like pay -per -view performance it's
- 1:02:06a solid buy it is that's a good number in the
- 1:02:10post may pack era that's a good number it is
- 1:02:14and if you decide to over stack a card that's
- 1:02:17your problem right you could you top three fights
- 1:02:22you could stack it and you probably would have
- 1:02:24done the same number you could have moved like
- 1:02:27um carlos adamas fucking Virgil Ortiz and we'll
- 1:02:34say Callum Smith, move them to a separate pay
- 1:02:36-per -view, would have done the same number.
- 1:02:39Yep. And then you'd have had the separate pay
- 1:02:42-per -view numbers for the super degenerates
- 1:02:44like me who will pay to watch Callum Smith. You
- 1:02:49would have had it with like, you could have divided
- 1:02:53this into two events instead of calling it a
- 1:02:56failure. But what really is a failure, turkey
- 1:02:59a little shake. What's really a failure is you.
- 1:03:04My hands are up because fuck you. His fucking
- 1:03:10emotional tantrums about boxing lately have also
- 1:03:14been... He's a little fucking child. He's a little
- 1:03:16baby boy that expects his toys to play the way
- 1:03:20that he wants them to. He gets so mad when the
- 1:03:23fights don't end the way he thinks they should.
- 1:03:27Man, little pissy boy. It's all good, dog. It's
- 1:03:31all good. One day you're going to grow up. It's
- 1:03:33all good. No, he's not. He's a rich, spoiled
- 1:03:36brat that just pays people to do what he wants.
- 1:03:40Well, speaking of rich, spoiled brats, Ryan Garcia
- 1:03:44moves off to Derek. He moves back to Derek James.
- 1:03:51I actually hadn't heard about this. Ryan Garcia
- 1:03:54is such a piece of shit. Yes, he is. Yes, he
- 1:04:00is. But here's one thing that I think is that
- 1:04:05by moving back to Derek James, Derek James gets
- 1:04:10to say, no more bullshit. If you want to come
- 1:04:15back to my camp, I'm in charge. Do you think
- 1:04:21that's going to stick though? I can only hope
- 1:04:26because I would like for Ryan Garcia to be better
- 1:04:30than he is. I would like to see him fucking crash
- 1:04:35and burn and everyone forget he exists. Alright.
- 1:04:43I'm a fucking elite level hater of Ryan Garcia.
- 1:04:49I like For him, the worst thing in the world
- 1:04:52is for people to forget about him. That would
- 1:04:56be what upsets him the most. I don't want him
- 1:05:00to die. I don't want anything overtly bad to
- 1:05:03happen to him. No serious harm. Nothing like
- 1:05:04that. Of course. I just want him to not be famous.
- 1:05:09Fade out of the zeitgeist. Entirely. Yeah. Like,
- 1:05:14I want him to get Lubegan. Lubegan. I don't know
- 1:05:21why I picked him, but nobody remembers who he
- 1:05:23is. I remember Lubega just because of the Lord
- 1:05:29of the Rings one that I shared with you, like
- 1:05:33the Lubega. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. One for the
- 1:05:41Monica in our lives, two for the Erica by our
- 1:05:45sides. But there was one dance that Lou Bega
- 1:05:49saved. Yeah. The Dark Lord Bega. Anyways. Anyway.
- 1:05:57Yeah, I guess if Derek James can get Ryan Garcia's
- 1:06:01shit together. But I personally don't want him
- 1:06:06to. I personally want Ryan Garcia to fail. Yeah,
- 1:06:10well. My opinion does not matter. I will be adding
- 1:06:15Ryan Garcia's success with Derek James into my
- 1:06:22Tenshin Asakawa category. Ah, fuck off. Fuck
- 1:06:28off. Well, here's what we're not fucking off
- 1:06:35with. Oi, Yokoyama. Gets the win. I only got
- 1:06:42to watch part of this fight. He looked good.
- 1:06:45He was super fucking impressive. No notes. Very
- 1:06:52impressive. This is a young man that you want
- 1:06:55to keep your eyes on. So, in case you forgot,
- 1:06:58I picked AOA as my prospect of the year last
- 1:07:02year. You did. I did. He just won the Oriental
- 1:07:08Pacific... OPBF. Yes, thank you. In his third
- 1:07:15professional fight, which, if I am understanding
- 1:07:18translations properly, he is the fastest person
- 1:07:22to ever do it. Number of fights -wise. Not the
- 1:07:25youngest, but the fastest. It's fucking crazy.
- 1:07:30They threw my boy to the wolves and he came home
- 1:07:33with a new coat. Like, he looked fucking impressive.
- 1:07:36It's the beginning of 300. Yeah. Which is exactly
- 1:07:40what you just described. That's what it is. I
- 1:07:45am so high on this kid. And he is also the kid
- 1:07:49I always talk about that volunteers at the retirement
- 1:07:51home. And he seems like such a good person. I
- 1:07:56want him to do so well. and i looked up what
- 1:07:59his name actually means so not the characters
- 1:08:02because i don't know how to read that but aoi
- 1:08:05means blue and he has the character for ocean
- 1:08:09in his first name but his last name is yogoyama
- 1:08:13which is the next mountain so he's blue from
- 1:08:19the next mountain over there i don't know why
- 1:08:22that makes me happy but it does no it's pretty
- 1:08:26cool to learn more about who the guys like who
- 1:08:32the people are that are coming up like um so
- 1:08:36he's signed with the comedas which is the only
- 1:08:40thing i'm a little wary about that concerns me
- 1:08:44too like they have a connection i don't remember
- 1:08:49which major promoter but they do have a connection
- 1:08:52to one of them They do, but they are also a family
- 1:08:56that the Japanese Boxing Commission hates. Oh,
- 1:08:59shit. Because of their behavior when they were
- 1:09:04boxing. The Kamedas are very controversial. We'll
- 1:09:08just leave it at that. Because they what? Because
- 1:09:10they lived and trained in Mexico? And they had
- 1:09:14a personality. So they learned to be Mexican.
- 1:09:18And then they came back to Japan. Like, we are
- 1:09:21Mexican, like, in culture, shitting in Japanese
- 1:09:26language. Yeah, like, I have no problem with
- 1:09:31anything the Kamedas ever did. Shrugging my shoulders
- 1:09:34for the audio. Yeah, but, like, Japan has a problem
- 1:09:39with the Kamedas. Of course they do. They don't
- 1:09:41fucking like Ioka for no apparent reason, as
- 1:09:44far as I can tell. Because he's from Osaka. So
- 1:09:48are the Kamedas. Oh, well, surprise, surprise.
- 1:09:52Of course they hate them. He's from Kansai, so
- 1:09:57he's not even from the city. He's from some small
- 1:09:59town. But this event was fucking hilarious, by
- 1:10:05the way. I don't know where you were watching
- 1:10:08it, but I watched it live. But it was concerts
- 1:10:12and boxing. Like, that was what it was billed
- 1:10:18as. It was a weekend of music and combat sports.
- 1:10:22But it was actually only boxing. Two -day event
- 1:10:25just outside of Nagoya. I always get them confused.
- 1:10:32I'm pretty sure it's Nagoya. And they had fucking
- 1:10:37idol -colored lights and dancing and DJ. battles
- 1:10:43and shit between the fights it's what Saudi wants
- 1:10:49it to be but with an actual atmosphere and uh
- 1:10:54I actually I had priced out tickets but I couldn't
- 1:10:58not a price thing I just couldn't take the time
- 1:11:01off work but anyways that's where AOA is from
- 1:11:06so of course he signed with the promoters that
- 1:11:10are near him and speak the same dialect as him
- 1:11:12and are super famous. Like, I'm not shitting
- 1:11:16on him for it, but the Japanese Boxing Commission
- 1:11:19is going to shit on him for it. And I kind of
- 1:11:22hope he moves to someone else whenever his contract
- 1:11:25is up. Because this event was not popular. It
- 1:11:30was not one of the ones that's very well advertised
- 1:11:34or anything else. And there were title fights.
- 1:11:37There were... This is the same as that weekend
- 1:11:40event where Tsutsumi won his title from Little
- 1:11:47Inoue. But it wasn't fucking advertised because
- 1:11:52it's in the middle of nowhere. Nagoya is a small
- 1:11:54city in Japan. And it's a Kameda production,
- 1:12:00so... All the ingredients are wrong, right? But
- 1:12:06this is just me as a foreigner, maybe misinterpreting
- 1:12:10things, but I don't think so. So Aoi Yokoyama
- 1:12:14is going to be fucking great. He is definitely
- 1:12:17winning at least one world title. And he needs
- 1:12:22a promoter that the Japanese government's going
- 1:12:25to like and let him get out of Japan. Does he
- 1:12:29need the Japanese government to get outside of
- 1:12:32Japan? Because if he has the Kameda family promoting
- 1:12:37him, he could leave and go up the Mexican chain
- 1:12:45of boxing. Has that ever happened, though? Question
- 1:12:48mark. Because that's what the Kameda family did,
- 1:12:51was they left Japan for exactly these reasons.
- 1:12:57Is Mexico going to let them promote a Japanese
- 1:13:01fighter in Mexico? Yes. I just haven't heard
- 1:13:06of it. I haven't either. I haven't either. Maybe
- 1:13:09they've never had anybody that good. I don't
- 1:13:12know. But if that's a fucking option, why didn't
- 1:13:16Nyoka do that? I would like for Nyoka to do that.
- 1:13:21I think it's way too late now. For him, yeah.
- 1:13:26But, like, if that's an option, why has no one
- 1:13:29ever done it? If anyone is going to do it, it's
- 1:13:32going to be the Kamedas. They have the connections.
- 1:13:38I mean, Junto's the closest thing. Right. He's
- 1:13:45not with the Kamedas, though, right? No, no,
- 1:13:47but he trains not in Mexico, I guess, but with
- 1:13:51a Mexican. Southern California in a Mexican camp.
- 1:13:55Yeah. But, like, the Japanese Boxing Commission
- 1:14:00likes Nakatani. Right. Man. And there's no reason
- 1:14:06they shouldn't like Aoi either. Like, he has
- 1:14:10no tattoos. He has no controversies. He has nothing
- 1:14:15bad yet. But if he hangs out with the Kameidas,
- 1:14:19he's going to get scandals. Whether they're warranted
- 1:14:22or not, he will get scandals. That would be like
- 1:14:26signing with people known to deal with the Kinahans
- 1:14:30or whatever their name is. MTK or Probellum.
- 1:14:36I think those were the Kinahan groups. Yeah,
- 1:14:40like even if you as a person are spotless, just
- 1:14:44dealing with those people kind of tarnishes you.
- 1:14:48Jamel Herring was like that. Spotless, but he...
- 1:14:55Signed with Kinahan. Yeah. I'm just saying. I
- 1:15:00get you. I get you. I want this kid to be smart.
- 1:15:03But he is fucking adorable and they always give
- 1:15:07him the little tear videos. Love it. Oh, shit.

- 1:16:33Are we drinking or not drinking? I'm drinking
- 1:16:36right now. Okay. I have a tall boy. Welcome to
- 1:16:53the fucking show! Alright, just a quick blurb,
- 1:16:55just so you can get back to what you were doing.
- 1:16:58Why would a boxing fan, let's assume they're
- 1:17:05like a purist or some shit, why would they want
- 1:17:08to watch MMA, why would they want to listen to
- 1:17:11an MMA show? I'm gonna come at this from sort
- 1:17:14of like a primal level. So, I will admit there
- 1:17:17are like some very, like... unique and like stark
- 1:17:21differences between MMA and boxing and it seems
- 1:17:25like one of the main things that keeps boxing
- 1:17:28fans away from MMA is the grappling aspect and
- 1:17:32yet sometimes it can be you know a lay and pray
- 1:17:35type of fight and it can get old but man like
- 1:17:40it's just instinctual man some of these people
- 1:17:43the way they fight in MMA Is just brutal. And
- 1:17:47I feel like that's what it comes down to. When
- 1:17:49it comes to being a combat fan. A combat sports
- 1:17:51fan. I mean. We saw just recently. Mauricio Rufi.
- 1:17:58Versus Bobby Green. Spinning back. Or spinning
- 1:18:02a wheel kick. Man. I mean they went viral. And
- 1:18:08it's something that everyone can appreciate.
- 1:18:09Even boxing fans. I know a few. I have a few
- 1:18:12friends that are boxing fans. who I sent him
- 1:18:16that clip. I mean, and they were amazed. One
- 1:18:20even told me that they wish they would have seen
- 1:18:22it live because seeing that type of stuff live
- 1:18:26just elicits a euphoric feeling that you can't
- 1:18:31get. I mean, it happens in boxing, too, whenever
- 1:18:33you see an amazing fight. But I just got to say,
- 1:18:36in MMA, you get those type of fights as well,
- 1:18:41just in a different type. It's different, but
- 1:18:44sort of the same. It's sort of weird how I describe
- 1:18:48it, but it's different, but the same. It comes
- 1:18:50down to that same like carnal or primal instinct
- 1:18:53of just like fights. Yeah, I always think like
- 1:18:58the biggest, the easiest transition that I always
- 1:19:01recommend, I say this all the time on Ultimate
- 1:19:04Fucking Casuals, is if you're not too keen on
- 1:19:09the grappling, Muay Thai and kickboxing. are
- 1:19:13exactly where you want to start. Like, you start
- 1:19:16working on the kicks, the elbows, the knees,
- 1:19:19all that stuff, and you can come to learn to
- 1:19:23appreciate grappling. I never thought I would,
- 1:19:26and here I am. Yeah. Like I said, some of it
- 1:19:30is very boring, some of the grappling. It depends
- 1:19:33on the fighters, but sometimes, man, there's
- 1:19:34boring boxing fights all the time. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:19:38no, yeah, you're true. I mean, you're right.
- 1:19:40But, man, some of these grapplers, man, these
- 1:19:42scrambles that they do, it is, like, pretty crazy
- 1:19:46just to see it. Like, you know, rolling around
- 1:19:48the floor. I mean, you can see the stuff that
- 1:19:50they're doing in between the scrambles. I mean,
- 1:19:52it's sort of crazy. Flipping someone over, the
- 1:19:54trips. I mean, it can be fun. But, yeah, you're
- 1:19:57right. The easiest transition is definitely start
- 1:20:00out with Muay Thai, kickboxing, and, you know,
- 1:20:02slowly work your way into MMA. And, you know,
- 1:20:05this is the thing about the ultimate fucking
- 1:20:08casuals. We will let you know which fights are
- 1:20:11going to be good. Which ones, you know, if you're
- 1:20:14not too in tune with the grappling, we can get
- 1:20:17maybe a little tag or a little asterisk on certain
- 1:20:22fights saying, like, this is a boxing purist
- 1:20:24type of fight. Yeah. You can watch this and enjoy
- 1:20:27this. Like, we'll let you know. Yeah, we always
- 1:20:31try. Like, I came into this. The whole show was
- 1:20:35started with me. I didn't know shit. about MMA.
- 1:20:38I'd never really seen an MMA fight in its entirety
- 1:20:41in my entire life. And I came into this with
- 1:20:43nothing. And yeah, that's where we're at now
- 1:20:46is like, we're talking to like, I make sure I
- 1:20:49go out of my way to bring up Muay Thai and bring
- 1:20:52up kickboxing so that people know like this for
- 1:20:55boxing fans to know this is what, this is where
- 1:20:59you can start. All right. Well, that was about
- 1:21:03it. I really appreciate your time. Thanks, Isaac,
- 1:21:07for jumping on real quick. Thanks for having
- 1:21:09me on. All right. Thank you. All right. Just
- 1:21:15to get right into it, Nathan, you and I both
- 1:21:18tried the Strikeman dry fire system. What did
- 1:21:23you like about it? No, scratch that. What did
- 1:21:28you dislike? about uh i tried i have the 380
- 1:21:32acp and i have the 65 creedmoor what did you
- 1:21:35test out and what did you dislike just to start
- 1:21:38off so i got the uh 223 556 caliber uh system
- 1:21:44um and really my only um complaints really just
- 1:21:52came from the platform i was using so i my 556
- 1:21:55is a AR -15 platform, semi -automatic. Just in
- 1:22:01that context, a little tough to use because it
- 1:22:05requires the trigger to be reset before every...
- 1:22:09So it's pulling the charging handle over time,
- 1:22:11right? Right, you're not relying on the gunpowder
- 1:22:15resetting your... recycling around, so you have
- 1:22:19to rack that thing back and let the bolt fly.
- 1:22:24But, that being said, there's plenty of other,
- 1:22:27uh, you know, different types of systems that
- 1:22:31use five, five, six. You don't have to use, uh,
- 1:22:34AR style and the auto system. Yeah. We're in
- 1:22:38that context when you, when you have a big old
- 1:22:41bolt like that, um, worry. Sorry, I lost my train
- 1:22:46of thought there. Let me chop that up. But in,
- 1:22:48in that context, um, it was a little tough to
- 1:22:51use. I think this is a system that's much more
- 1:22:55oriented towards either bolt action or a pistol
- 1:22:58style, where you could just rack the slide, reset
- 1:23:03the trigger, and then you're ready to go. Yeah,
- 1:23:07I had a similar experience on the 6 .5 Creedmoor.
- 1:23:11I have a bolt action, so you don't have to go
- 1:23:14through the full range of motion to get it reset,
- 1:23:18but you do still have to pop. the bolt and then
- 1:23:21put it back down to get, to get the trigger reset.
- 1:23:24But as you were alluding to the pistol version,
- 1:23:27I have my three 80 is a single action, double
- 1:23:32action. So I don't have to rack the slide, but
- 1:23:36I can't, I do still have to pull down the, uh,
- 1:23:39the hammer a little bit to get it to fire off.
- 1:23:43Gotcha. Uh, what about the, what did you think
- 1:23:47about that? I thought the app was really cool.
- 1:23:51The setup was very easy. It took less than five
- 1:23:54minutes to get the whole stand and phone configured.
- 1:23:58I do really like a lot of the gamified features
- 1:24:01that are kind of put in there. So there's like
- 1:24:02some different challenges and you can get on
- 1:24:05kind of leaderboards and do matches with people.
- 1:24:08And I think that's just really cool because,
- 1:24:09you know, when it comes to getting better at
- 1:24:12shooting. one of the best ways to do that is
- 1:24:15learning how to shoot under pressure and so having
- 1:24:18something that's very low stakes like this you
- 1:24:22know that is a it's going to force you to be
- 1:24:24accurate but um it's going to do so in a way
- 1:24:29where it's making you you know you're not just
- 1:24:31doing it repetitively to range you're trying
- 1:24:34to almost beat yourself or beat a friend and
- 1:24:36that competition you know that raising of the
- 1:24:39stakes is going to help you become a calmer shot
- 1:24:41over time i think I really enjoy that aspect
- 1:24:44of the app. Yeah, that's something I've heard
- 1:24:48discussed when it comes to pressure shooting
- 1:24:51is your max effective range, cut that in half,
- 1:24:56and that's about what you're looking at shooting
- 1:24:58under pressure. So if you're practicing with
- 1:25:03friends, it makes it a lot easier than, I don't
- 1:25:08know, we'll call it a zombie apocalypse. You
- 1:25:11know, when you don't have walkers coming down
- 1:25:13to your face, that's a whole lot easier to just
- 1:25:16play around with friends. And also, you're doing
- 1:25:19it without spending any money on ammo. Like,
- 1:25:21obviously, we've all just happened to the stock
- 1:25:24market these last few days, and ammo could become
- 1:25:27significantly more expensive. But now with the
- 1:25:30Strikeman laser firearm training system, you
- 1:25:36don't have to spend oodles of money on ammo.
- 1:25:40You can take your time in the comfort of your
- 1:25:42own home and practice all you want. Man, that
- 1:25:46was actually kind of tough, like moving it back.
- 1:25:48I started off at what was it like? Like 10 feet.
- 1:25:56And then I moved it back to 20. And even that
- 1:25:59just that little bit was still like, man, I did.
- 1:26:02I thought I was good, but I apparently need a
- 1:26:06lot more practice. but good to find out here
- 1:26:11i think being on that timer too really shows
- 1:26:14like oh wow this is kind of the gap in in skill
- 1:26:18that i i need to work on you know there might
- 1:26:20be it's also different ranges this is similar
- 1:26:24to like archery or long range shooting really
- 1:26:26but like you could be really good at 100 yards
- 1:26:29but you go out to like 125 or an odd number and
- 1:26:32all of a sudden you're you're messed up oh right
- 1:26:35so this this is you know being able to very quickly
- 1:26:38just change the ranges that you're shooting at.
- 1:26:41Again, just in your home, in your backyard, whatever.
- 1:26:44Like, that's a really, really helpful skill you
- 1:26:48can hone with this system. Oof, yeah. Well, overall,
- 1:26:55I would call this a, what, four out of five buy?
- 1:26:59Like, it really depends on what it is that you're
- 1:27:01trying to do or what you're trying to practice
- 1:27:04with. I can't speak to any of the other calibers,
- 1:27:08but if it's like a handgun caliber, I always
- 1:27:12say if you can get a single double, get a single
- 1:27:16double. But I know that's not useful for everyone.
- 1:27:21Nonetheless, it should still help to increase
- 1:27:25your max effective range, like under pressure,
- 1:27:28right? Like I said, cut your original in half.
- 1:27:32Yeah, and I agree with that recommendation. I
- 1:27:35think any kind of pistol caliber, I think, is
- 1:27:36really well suited to this system. I think if
- 1:27:40you're going to do rifle, I think bolt action
- 1:27:42is probably going to be your best bet. But yeah,
- 1:27:46I definitely concur with your assessment on its
- 1:27:49usefulness as a pistol training tool, which I
- 1:27:51think is, if you look at, I think it's what they're
- 1:27:54aiming for when they're marketing this. They
- 1:27:59did well there. I think they have shotgun gauges
- 1:28:02as well. Like that's kind of wild. Not what I
- 1:28:07would have expected for like a dry fire kind
- 1:28:10of training thing. But hey. Oh, that sounds like
- 1:28:14it would actually work because you'd just be
- 1:28:16for a pump action. Yeah, you just pump it, right?
- 1:28:21Yeah, that's right. All right. Well, Nate, thanks
- 1:28:25for jumping on real quick. Just wanted to get
