- 0:19Speaker 1: true good at Steve ha listen to mother for stay.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I don't join joined me to be doing me. Har
- 0:58Speaker 1: You gotta use turn hur the moment. You gotta turn
- 1:40Speaker 1: to turn, got to turn out, turn the water the water.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Come come on your back at it. Uh huh, I
- 2:02Speaker 1: shore will a good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Come on, come on, y'all dig me now, one and
- 2:10Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey got a radio show man. Is God
- 2:14Speaker 1: good to me? Unbelievable? Yeah, it is. And I can
- 2:18Speaker 1: only attribute it to one thing. It's just been a
- 2:21Speaker 1: turnaround in my life. It's it's been me finally making
- 2:26Speaker 1: a decision to see what all God has for me,
- 2:29Speaker 1: but at the same time trying to be more God
- 2:31Speaker 1: wants me to be instead of more of what I
- 2:34Speaker 1: want to be. That's the trade off. You know, you
- 2:36Speaker 1: gotta do something now, you know you know you want
- 2:38Speaker 1: God's blessings. You gotta be willing to do something on
- 2:41Speaker 1: his behalf. Now I'm not saying I got it right
- 2:45Speaker 1: right now, because man, I just don't. I'm just being
- 2:50Speaker 1: real with you. I don't. I don't have it all
- 2:52Speaker 1: together by any stretch of imagination. I'm trying to get
- 2:56Speaker 1: better in several areas. I'm praying about it. I'm working
- 3:00Speaker 1: on it. But you know, it's a process, and I've
- 3:03Speaker 1: I've grown to accept the process. But I'm improving in
- 3:07Speaker 1: a lot of areas from day to day. But I'll
- 3:09Speaker 1: tell you what, man, my success all is going on
- 3:12Speaker 1: with me I can only attribute to this turnaround. And
- 3:16Speaker 1: the turnaround was simple. I turned around and started looking
- 3:20Speaker 1: at God. That was a simple move, man. I just
- 3:23Speaker 1: turned around and started looking at him, and I was going, Okay,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I get it. Now, you created me. You're the creator.
- 3:31Speaker 1: You have a purpose for me. I understand that. Now.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Now let me just walk in that purpose and let
- 3:38Speaker 1: me get to doing that purpose. Now, my purpose and
- 3:42Speaker 1: your purpose and their purpose and anybody's perfect purpose could
- 3:45Speaker 1: be different, and the way you go about the purpose
- 3:49Speaker 1: can be different. And that's the part that I've really
- 3:52Speaker 1: grown up to. I've opened up my mind to understanding
- 3:56Speaker 1: that everybody's different, nobody's quite the same, and that is
- 4:00Speaker 1: not my right or position to judge, but to be
- 4:04Speaker 1: of a forgiving spirit and understand and forgive those as
- 4:07Speaker 1: I ask God to forgive me. See that's the key.
- 4:12Speaker 1: That's the key, y'all. So when you out here and
- 4:14Speaker 1: you stuck on this unforgiveness, understand in the large prayer
- 4:20Speaker 1: as a segment that says, forgive us our trust passes
- 4:24Speaker 1: as we forgive those who trust pass against us. There's
- 4:27Speaker 1: another verges says forgive us our debts, as we forgive
- 4:30Speaker 1: our debt us. It's two different versions, but either one
- 4:34Speaker 1: it means the exact same thing. It means simply this
- 4:39Speaker 1: that you are asking God to forgive yours like you
- 4:44Speaker 1: forgive others. Forgive us our trust passes as we forgive
- 4:48Speaker 1: those who trust pass against us. When I cross the
- 4:51Speaker 1: line with you, God handle me the way I handle
- 4:56Speaker 1: people when they cross the line with me. You feel
- 4:58Speaker 1: what I'm saying to you, See, you understand that. That's
- 5:01Speaker 1: the breakdown of it. Best way I can give it
- 5:03Speaker 1: to you. Forgive us our trust passes as we forgive
- 5:07Speaker 1: those who trust pass against us. Forgive me God for
- 5:11Speaker 1: stepping over the line, like I forgive those that step
- 5:14Speaker 1: over the line on me. That's the hard part. Man.
- 5:17Speaker 1: That's the part man, I've really been working on. I've
- 5:20Speaker 1: been really trying to get that together. And so I've
- 5:23Speaker 1: learned forgiveness a lot better over the past five years
- 5:26Speaker 1: than I have before. And it's paid off. I can't
- 5:31Speaker 1: tell you how it was paid off, because now God's
- 5:35Speaker 1: mercy and grace is all over me, because I've learned
- 5:39Speaker 1: to become more graceful. Now I ain't graceful like him,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I ain't merciful like him, but I've learned to become
- 5:48Speaker 1: more more graceful, more merciful, because man, I can't live
- 5:52Speaker 1: my life like that. I just got sick of me. Man,
- 5:55Speaker 1: you're mad at me now I'm mad at you. You
- 5:58Speaker 1: hate on me, Now I'm gonna hate on you. I
- 6:00Speaker 1: ain't got time for that. Man. Love got you. Look here,
- 6:03Speaker 1: you got somewhere to go. Hate take up time. It's
- 6:07Speaker 1: time consuming. Hating Trying to seek revenge, it's time consuming,
- 6:14Speaker 1: take up way too much of your time to seek
- 6:16Speaker 1: revenge when vengeance ain't really yours. That's another one. Vengeance
- 6:20Speaker 1: is mine, say if the Lord it ain't yours. So
- 6:24Speaker 1: now when you go to seek it to take it out,
- 6:26Speaker 1: guess what you're doing you're doing something now. Man, Now
- 6:30Speaker 1: you off in the area that you've got no business
- 6:33Speaker 1: being in, and instead of steady climbing your ladder like
- 6:36Speaker 1: you're supposed to, you didn't take out time for vengeance
- 6:40Speaker 1: to hate. I'm a hater. I'm gonna be a blogger.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I'm a blog about so and so. When you're blogging
- 6:48Speaker 1: about somebody, and most of these people you don't even
- 6:51Speaker 1: know when you're blogging about somebody what you're doing, what
- 6:55Speaker 1: you're hating. It takes time to hate. Man. I just decided, Man,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I gotta take all my time and instead of have
- 7:05Speaker 1: doing time and being active, I got to be proactive.
- 7:10Speaker 1: See some people get that confused, being active and being proactive.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Pro is positive. Pro means to move forward. You know,
- 7:20Speaker 1: if you put pro in front of most words, it's
- 7:22Speaker 1: a positive influence. You know, does the pros and the cons.
- 7:27Speaker 1: The pros is the good side, the cons is what
- 7:30Speaker 1: can go wrong the bad side. You know, if you're active,
- 7:34Speaker 1: that's one thing, But if you're proactive, you're going forward
- 7:37Speaker 1: in a positive direction. When you become a pro that
- 7:41Speaker 1: means you the best of the best at whatever it
- 7:44Speaker 1: is you chosen to be. I'm a pro so somehow,
- 7:48Speaker 1: And I know English teacher grammatical god, the word pro
- 7:54Speaker 1: a lot of times when you put it in front
- 7:56Speaker 1: of something means positiveness. So now a lot of people
- 8:01Speaker 1: think that if you just active something all to happen. Well,
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm doing something, and that's what happens. Man, We just
- 8:07Speaker 1: find ourselves doing a lot of busy work that really
- 8:09Speaker 1: ain't bout nothing, and it ain't going no where. It
- 8:11Speaker 1: ain't got no direction or no purpose because we haven't
- 8:14Speaker 1: tried to find out the direction or purpose. So you
- 8:17Speaker 1: wake up and you and your wheels are spinning. You
- 8:20Speaker 1: a hamster on a tread meal. You're running real fast,
- 8:23Speaker 1: but you're just going in the same spot. You understand
- 8:25Speaker 1: that's cause you're just out here being active instead of proactive.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Why don't you get God in your life. Why don't
- 8:31Speaker 1: you turn and face your creative and find out how
- 8:34Speaker 1: to become more proactive so you can do things to
- 8:38Speaker 1: move yourself forward. How you can get your life off
- 8:41Speaker 1: the ground and get off the tread meal and really
- 8:44Speaker 1: get it rolling in the direction that it need to
- 8:46Speaker 1: be going. Man, I'm telling you God can make that
- 8:50Speaker 1: change for you if he see you making the change
- 8:53Speaker 1: for him. See the whole key man, the whole kids.
- 8:57Speaker 1: You got to be willing to do something. You got
- 9:00Speaker 1: to give God something to bless bless me God, and
- 9:04Speaker 1: then you go sit on your couch and you ain't trying. Okay,
- 9:07Speaker 1: bless me God with what? What? What? What are working with?
- 9:12Speaker 1: He can't have the people hire you if you ain't
- 9:14Speaker 1: put the app in. Come on, man, how you how
- 9:17Speaker 1: you think this works? You know he can't heal your
- 9:21Speaker 1: body if you ain't gonna take the medicine and you
- 9:24Speaker 1: ain't gonna do none of the things to counteract. You know,
- 9:28Speaker 1: you can't get lung cancer and then keep smoking and
- 9:32Speaker 1: then expect the blessing to come. Come on, man, the
- 9:36Speaker 1: blessing comes when you make a proactive step, when you
- 9:40Speaker 1: try to do something on the positive side. Look, man,
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna quit messing around with all these people. I'm
- 9:46Speaker 1: gonna start going home. I'm gonna leave these women loan
- 9:48Speaker 1: out here. You got to say, all right, man, I
- 9:51Speaker 1: ain't going over that at night. I just ain't gonna
- 9:53Speaker 1: get Then God can work with you. God help me
- 9:57Speaker 1: stop seeing all these women. But you steady going over
- 10:00Speaker 1: there calling them setting up stuff. We can't nobody help you,
- 10:05Speaker 1: because once you get over there, you already know. See,
- 10:08Speaker 1: you gotta get proactive. You gotta do something yourself. You
- 10:12Speaker 1: make one step, he'll make two. That that's the key man.
- 10:16Speaker 1: So come on, y'all. You know, but we can straighten
- 10:19Speaker 1: this thing all the way out for ourselves. You don't
- 10:22Speaker 1: have to be wondering what's going on all the time.
- 10:26Speaker 1: You don't have to be confused anymore. You don't have
- 10:29Speaker 1: to have your life in the rut. You don't have
- 10:31Speaker 1: to hate waking up in the morning. You don't have
- 10:33Speaker 1: to feel like your life is going nowhere. That is
- 10:36Speaker 1: an answer for all of this. Turn around and look
- 10:41Speaker 1: at God. Why what you got to lose? Why would
- 10:44Speaker 1: you not try it? Just turn around and face him,
- 10:48Speaker 1: Turn around and try to make yourself a more righteous brother.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Just look, man, I'm gonna do better. You feeling all right,
- 10:55Speaker 1: Let's go to dare. Y'all you're listening, ladies and gentlemen,
- 11:03Speaker 1: get it together, brace yourselves, molata your business. Turn your
- 11:10Speaker 1: radio on up, because it's about to go down. Ladies

- 22:44Speaker 1: do y'all do have freezings, because that's what I'm trying
- 22:46Speaker 1: to do. What I'm trying to do is, uh, I've
- 22:50Speaker 1: run out of freezer space, and I'm trying to see
- 22:53Speaker 1: if possibly, you know, my back is up against the
- 22:56Speaker 1: wall right now. I'm trying to see if I can
- 22:58Speaker 1: possibly uh put something in one of you as freezes
- 23:01Speaker 1: for a couple of days until I get freed up
- 23:04Speaker 1: on this end. So that's why I wanted to see
- 23:07Speaker 1: if you guys would allow me to do something like that.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Is that possible? Um, sir, Sorry, I'm a little confused.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I don't want to buy a freezer. You just want
- 23:16Speaker 1: to put something in one of our freezers. I just
- 23:19Speaker 1: want to put something there for a couple of days
- 23:21Speaker 1: because I have a freezer, but mine is completely full,
- 23:24Speaker 1: and I'm trying to see if I can put something
- 23:26Speaker 1: you as freezer until, you know, for a couple of days,
- 23:28Speaker 1: and then I'll come back and get it. Um. I'm
- 23:31Speaker 1: so sorry. We don't do that. Um Uh. If you
- 23:35Speaker 1: wanted to come by and purchase a freezer, I'm having
- 23:40Speaker 1: to help you, but we don't allow outside vendors to
- 23:43Speaker 1: put things in our freezers. That's that's yeah, that's I'm sorry. Okay,
- 23:48Speaker 1: well I was sold. If Bale would hear what was
- 23:51Speaker 1: going on, he might he might be able to help
- 23:53Speaker 1: me though. Okay, Um, you said your name was Kevin. Okay, Kevin,
- 23:58Speaker 1: if you just hold him and I will see if
- 24:00Speaker 1: Dell can take your call. That's that's what the hell
- 24:02Speaker 1: I asked it in the first place. Is speaks death. Okay,
- 24:05Speaker 1: then please, Hey, this is Della. I can't help you. Hey, Dale,
- 24:10Speaker 1: how you doing this? Is uh? Kevin Kevin, And I've
- 24:14Speaker 1: been on the phone with with uh the salespersons. But
- 24:18Speaker 1: let me tell you what I'm trying to do. Man.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I'm um, I'm trying to use your You have a
- 24:23Speaker 1: lot of walk in freezers that you all sell, right right,
- 24:27Speaker 1: we do? Yeah? Okay, So what what I got is
- 24:30Speaker 1: my freezer is completely full, man, and I'm I'm my
- 24:36Speaker 1: back is against the wall. You can't highly recommended to
- 24:39Speaker 1: give you a call? Is it possible for me to? Um,
- 24:43Speaker 1: I need to keep something frozen for a few days. Uh,
- 24:46Speaker 1: it's only gonna be like two days. My my freezer
- 24:48Speaker 1: will be uh you know, half empty. In a couple
- 24:52Speaker 1: of days. I just want to just need some somebody
- 24:54Speaker 1: to just kind of help me out here. Is it
- 24:56Speaker 1: possible for me to bring something over there to keep
- 24:58Speaker 1: keep it frozen for a couple of the days. You
- 25:00Speaker 1: know what? We got into show room, you know, with
- 25:03Speaker 1: different displays so you can see what different kind of
- 25:05Speaker 1: refrigerators look in your restaurants. But I mean, if you
- 25:08Speaker 1: want to come and take a look at one, I
- 25:10Speaker 1: could have yet if you're interested in buying one. But no, no,
- 25:13Speaker 1: you're just there for show, you know, right right? No, No,
- 25:16Speaker 1: I have a cooler, I have a freeze already, but
- 25:20Speaker 1: like I say, mine is just full. In a couple
- 25:22Speaker 1: of days it won't be And I really got to
- 25:24Speaker 1: get this this stuff on frozen. Man, I'm gonna be
- 25:27Speaker 1: in trouble. Like I said, I'm I'm my back against
- 25:30Speaker 1: the wall over here. Man. And um, I can't remember
- 25:32Speaker 1: who recommended you, but you can't highly recommended that you
- 25:35Speaker 1: might be able to show me a little love on
- 25:37Speaker 1: this look. I guess it comes back depends on what
- 25:39Speaker 1: do you need? How much? How much do you have
- 25:41Speaker 1: do you need frozen? I mean I don't even know
- 25:44Speaker 1: what you well, well, I got um three bodies that
- 25:47Speaker 1: I need to get um to keep, you know, to
- 25:50Speaker 1: keep frozen. Man. You know we run the mortuary over here.
- 25:52Speaker 1: This is bose body. Yeah we got three people bodies. Yeah, yeah,
- 25:58Speaker 1: we got three bodies that and like I said, my
- 26:00Speaker 1: my freezers full. Man. But in a couple of days,
- 26:04Speaker 1: you know, these bodies, you know, the funerals would have happened,
- 26:07Speaker 1: so we'll be freed up, you know. But right now
- 26:09Speaker 1: I got I got three bodies coming in the day
- 26:11Speaker 1: that I got to get in the freezer. Are you crazy?
- 26:15Speaker 1: Are you damn mind? No? No, no, I'm dead serious.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I'm dead sis. Bro. So I'm like I said, you
- 26:21Speaker 1: can't highly recommend it. You know, I'm just trying to
- 26:24Speaker 1: get somebody to show me a little love. Man. You
- 26:25Speaker 1: got those freezes, you don't have nothing in them, you know,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I just needed for a couple of days. You gotta
- 26:30Speaker 1: be out of your mind. We're not talking about ice.
- 26:33Speaker 1: This is a chicken wings or reports shoulder. He's a people.
- 26:37Speaker 1: You are out of your mind, man, But but listen
- 26:40Speaker 1: to me down, then listen to what I'm gonna you
- 26:41Speaker 1: understand how serious is is I have to keep them frozen.
- 26:46Speaker 1: That's the reason why I'm calling. I'm needing your help, man. Yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 1: I understand that. Look, if you want to, I'll have
- 26:51Speaker 1: you come in to buy your own freezer. You can
- 26:53Speaker 1: put your own bodies in your own freezer. How much
- 26:56Speaker 1: fun to show off my shoulder room with frozen bodies
- 26:59Speaker 1: and the freezing. But just just don't just don't show
- 27:02Speaker 1: that one for a couple of days, you know what
- 27:04Speaker 1: I'm saying, don't just don't show it all wall just
- 27:06Speaker 1: come you know what? You know what here? What we
- 27:08Speaker 1: could do. We could put the bodies in there, just
- 27:10Speaker 1: cover them up and people don't want to know what
- 27:12Speaker 1: it is. Yeah, and then I get a buyer that
- 27:14Speaker 1: comes in and the cover falls off it and I
- 27:16Speaker 1: got a frozen dead body and my freezer. Is that
- 27:18Speaker 1: even legal? I don't know. Man. All I'm saying is
- 27:22Speaker 1: there's a deal. Man, you can't highly recommended. They told
- 27:25Speaker 1: me that you would probably show me so love. I'm actually,
- 27:28Speaker 1: you know, getting ready to load up and come your way. Dude,
- 27:32Speaker 1: you can't those dead bodies away from my store. I'm
- 27:35Speaker 1: telling you right now, I can't hook you up on
- 27:38Speaker 1: this one, all right. I just can't do it. Okay,
- 27:40Speaker 1: But we're shouldn't load up and come that weight though. Man,
- 27:43Speaker 1: So you know what I'm saying, it's I mean, what
- 27:46Speaker 1: am I supposed to do? I have no you know what?
- 27:49Speaker 1: You want to come talk to me. You want to
- 27:50Speaker 1: buy a freezer for yourself and you want to freeze
- 27:53Speaker 1: your dead bodies on your own. I don't care. I'll
- 27:55Speaker 1: tell you a freezer. I got no problem with selling
- 27:58Speaker 1: you a freezer. But you're not bringing the bodies here.
- 28:00Speaker 1: It's just not happening. So if Alonzo, if Alonzo calls
- 28:05Speaker 1: you and green lights it is it, okay, then I
- 28:10Speaker 1: highly down. Alonzo's gonna call me and tell me to
- 28:13Speaker 1: put freak a body and wait on our showroom for freezers.
- 28:17Speaker 1: I made out that. Okay, okay, but but but guess
- 28:22Speaker 1: what Alonzo told me? What did alons I'm telling you,
- 28:26Speaker 1: Alonzo told me to give you a call. He told
- 28:29Speaker 1: me to give you a plank phone call. This is
- 28:31Speaker 1: not from the Steve Hoping moment. Come on, are you serious? Yes? Yes,
- 28:43Speaker 1: I'm having my chatter. Oh oh jeez, that guy, Well
- 28:49Speaker 1: you just you just got franked by your GM baby.
- 28:52Speaker 1: That's why happening right here? All right? Man, give me
- 28:56Speaker 1: one more thing you gotta tell me this is right
- 28:58Speaker 1: here Dale, what is the bad? And I'm talking about
- 29:00Speaker 1: the baddest radio show in the land. It is the
- 29:04Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show, my friend. You know, sometimes you
- 29:11Speaker 1: need a freezer, you know, you know, you know montrearies
- 29:13Speaker 1: need freezers too, and sometimes they get a little overloaded.
- 29:16Speaker 1: You understand that. Yeah, I mean, it made sense, didn't
- 29:19Speaker 1: it that I call a man on a bar a
- 29:21Speaker 1: free nothing you do make sense? Three bodies, It was
- 29:25Speaker 1: just three bodies. Quit trying to act putting normalacy to this.
- 29:31Speaker 1: You just like my damn president, that that was low.
- 29:36Speaker 1: That was the something that was so tious. You actually
- 29:41Speaker 1: gotta take that back. This is playground talk. You gotta
- 29:45Speaker 1: take that back. That was dis all right. Coming up
- 29:51Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, we'll get into some
- 29:53Speaker 1: entertainment news that's coming up right after this. You're listening
- 29:57Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Some sad news and entertainment. This
- 30:03Speaker 1: is according to TMZ. Grammy winning r and b Legend
- 30:07Speaker 1: singer songwriter James Ingram has died from a battle with
- 30:13Speaker 1: brain cancer. James had been fighting the cancer for an
- 30:17Speaker 1: extended period of time. Actress and choreographer Debbie Allen reacted
- 30:21Speaker 1: to the news on Tuesday, saying, quote, I have lost
- 30:24Speaker 1: my dearest friend. James Ingram recorded several chart toppers eight
- 30:29Speaker 1: in the eighties, including his number one duet with Patty
- 30:32Speaker 1: Austin baby come to Me, Oh Lord, such great music. Yeah,
- 30:37Speaker 1: one hundred ways and just once. He also won a
- 30:40Speaker 1: Grammy for Yama Be There, his duet with Michael McDonald,
- 30:44Speaker 1: and another four one hundred ways. He couldn't be denied
- 30:48Speaker 1: with that one. James Ingram, of course, worked closely with
- 30:52Speaker 1: Quincy Jones over the years, recording and writing hits. For instance,
- 30:57Speaker 1: he and Q co wrote Michael Jackson's pyt Yeah, Young Thing, Yeah, Legend, Steve,
- 31:07Speaker 1: We're losing all the great ones, man. You know, man,
- 31:10Speaker 1: it's like it's it's really sad because music. Um, you know,
- 31:17Speaker 1: I had Shaka Khan on the show the other day
- 31:20Speaker 1: and I asked Shaka Khan. I said, Shaka, what's the
- 31:23Speaker 1: big difference between artists of yesterday in your era and
- 31:27Speaker 1: artists today? And she, without hesitation, she said, it's talent.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Oh wow. And it's and I think, because you know
- 31:37Speaker 1: what she's saying is she's saying it from this standpoint.
- 31:40Speaker 1: It's not to saying that these artists today aren't talent,
- 31:43Speaker 1: because there are something I can go down the list
- 31:45Speaker 1: of some bad people out there. Beyonce is the Michael
- 31:49Speaker 1: Jackson of She's a queen of partner. Yeah, she's She's
- 31:55Speaker 1: the best female performer I've ever seen in my life.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I've seen all of them. Wow, I've seen them all.
- 32:03Speaker 1: You know. I never saw Ella Fitzgerald perform. I heard her,
- 32:07Speaker 1: but and I've heard Whitney's voice. Whitney's voice is the
- 32:10Speaker 1: best I've ever heard. But total performance, it's Beyonce. I've
- 32:15Speaker 1: never seen that. There are some voices out there, you know,
- 32:18Speaker 1: or some stylis you know, but of yesterday, what she
- 32:21Speaker 1: was saying was it was so many it was nothing
- 32:25Speaker 1: for you to do. But saying you know it was
- 32:29Speaker 1: no you know, rap wing out then, you know, you
- 32:33Speaker 1: had to be you had to be able to sing though.
- 32:36Speaker 1: And even when rap first called on, it was still
- 32:39Speaker 1: R and B out there. We still had adult contemporary
- 32:42Speaker 1: music and the talent level was just outstanding. And that's
- 32:48Speaker 1: what it is today. Man, It's just you've got to
- 32:52Speaker 1: go every so often. Today they produced a single where
- 32:57Speaker 1: you go, Wow, there's Beyonce Okay, that girl a Dale
- 33:02Speaker 1: can say, oh my god. You know, you look around,
- 33:05Speaker 1: you know, and you go, okay, Now, wait a minute.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Christina Aguilara can flat out blow you know what I'm saying.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Vivian Green can say, Lettuce can blow Leicia Keys give
- 33:20Speaker 1: it to a jail Scott. You know, but Jill Scott
- 33:25Speaker 1: came out in two thousands. That was eighteen nineteen years.
- 33:30Speaker 1: That's crazy. Yeah, so Shako was back in the seventies. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 1: you understand different. That era of singers you will never
- 33:42Speaker 1: get again. I'm telling you you'll never get them again.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Well the problem yeah, yeah, well anyway, yes, please rest
- 33:56Speaker 1: in peace. James Ingram. All right, Steve, time for today's headlines,
- 34:00Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen. Miss Anne trip, Thanks everybody. Yes, this
- 34:03Speaker 1: is an trip with the news. The weather is still
- 34:05Speaker 1: the big story in many parts of the country this morning.
- 34:07Speaker 1: In fact, more than seventy five percent of the US
- 34:09Speaker 1: population is going to face subzero temperatures subzero this week
- 34:14Speaker 1: due to something called a polar vortex, which is pushing
- 34:17Speaker 1: frigid air south from the North Pole. Now in the
- 34:19Speaker 1: Midwest they're really getting at The frozen air is being
- 34:22Speaker 1: blamed for the deaths of at least three people so
- 34:24Speaker 1: far in Chicago. Later today, the high is expected to
- 34:27Speaker 1: be only fifteen degrees below zero. That's the high temperature
- 34:33Speaker 1: ats believe it or not, more cold than it is
- 34:35Speaker 1: in Antarctica right now. Heavy snow is in certain parts,
- 34:38Speaker 1: so it has caused highway up pile ups and closures.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Of course, thousands of airline flights have been canceled all
- 34:43Speaker 1: over the country. It's so cold that mail delivery has
- 34:45Speaker 1: been canceled in at least six states. Chicago police say
- 34:49Speaker 1: they're investigating what looks like to have been a hate
- 34:51Speaker 1: crime committed against Empire star Jesse Smollett. Authorities say that Smalllett,
- 34:55Speaker 1: who is gay, was attacked by two men yelling rachel
- 34:57Speaker 1: and homophobic slurs at him. They wrapped a rope around
- 35:01Speaker 1: his neck, he says. The sixty thirty six year old
- 35:03Speaker 1: actor also says they threw some unknown substance on him
- 35:06Speaker 1: and then started beating him. Jesse small is reportedly in
- 35:09Speaker 1: good condition, thank good, and they're looking for those guys.
- 35:11Speaker 1: California Democratic Senator Kamala Harris was in Ohio earlier this
- 35:15Speaker 1: week after announcing her intention run for president. The senator
- 35:18Speaker 1: laid out her positions on the issues. For instance, Harris
- 35:20Speaker 1: says she will not vote for a southern border wall
- 35:22Speaker 1: even though the Republicans are in charge of the Senate,
- 35:25Speaker 1: and she addressed the Dream Act or DACA recipients, we
- 35:27Speaker 1: should not be trading on your life for the sake
- 35:31Speaker 1: of the political games that this president is playing and
- 35:35Speaker 1: trying to vilify young people like you who are doing
- 35:38Speaker 1: nothing except being productive and believing in and living the
- 35:41Speaker 1: American dream. Harris is the daughter of a Jamaican father
- 35:44Speaker 1: and an East Indian mother, and she says she supports
- 35:47Speaker 1: medicare for all and dealing effectively with climate change. Her
- 35:50Speaker 1: critics claimed it as a prosecutor, her record was not
- 35:52Speaker 1: that progressive. Well, you see that stuff working out on
- 35:54Speaker 1: the campaign trail. Top officials in the nation's intelligence community
- 35:58Speaker 1: strongly disagree with President Trump's boasts about what he's been
- 36:02Speaker 1: able to accomplish with the North Koreans despite ongoing negotiations.
- 36:07Speaker 1: The Director of National Intelligence says that Kim John Ill
- 36:10Speaker 1: does not appear willing to completely dismantle its nuclear program,
- 36:13Speaker 1: which is something that Donald Trump has been saying. Oh yes,
- 36:15Speaker 1: he's been successful in getting the folks at Apples say
- 36:18Speaker 1: they've disabled the group of chat and malfunction problems on FaceTime.
- 36:22Speaker 1: It was a software glitch that allowed calls to activate
- 36:25Speaker 1: other person's microphones remotely, even if they didn't answer the calls.
- 36:29Speaker 1: And ending today, unfortune was said. And shocking news. Yes
- 36:32Speaker 1: you heard Shirley and Steven, I'm talking about a Grammy
- 36:35Speaker 1: Award winning singer James Ingram has died at age sixty six,
- 36:38Speaker 1: reportedly of brain cancer. James Ingram was nominated for several
- 36:42Speaker 1: Grammys and Oscars. He won two Grammys, one for Yamo
- 36:45Speaker 1: Be There with Michael Donald McDonald and for this one Again.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Singer James Ingram did at age sixty six. He will
- 36:55Speaker 1: be missed. Now back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 36:57Speaker 1: You're listening, Jesse, Smalalette and the rest of the Empire
- 37:03Speaker 1: cast will have armed security as production of the show continues. Jesse,
- 37:09Speaker 1: as we all heard on yesterday, was hospitalized after he
- 37:12Speaker 1: suffered a horrific homophobic and racist attack. This is also
- 37:17Speaker 1: according to TMZ. Jesse was brutally attacked by two men
- 37:21Speaker 1: who beat him up, put his head in a noose
- 37:23Speaker 1: and screamed, this is maga country. You know what magastands
- 37:28Speaker 1: for Make America great again. This according to reports, Jesse
- 37:32Speaker 1: arrived in Chicago from New York late on Monday and
- 37:35Speaker 1: around two am, he said he was hungry and he
- 37:38Speaker 1: went to a subway to get something to eat, to
- 37:42Speaker 1: get a sandwich, when shortly after that he walked out
- 37:45Speaker 1: and on his way home, someone yelled, aren't you that
- 37:49Speaker 1: F word? Empire? N word. The two men, both white
- 37:54Speaker 1: and wearing ski masks, viciously attacked Jesse as he fought back,
- 37:59Speaker 1: but they beat him badly and fractured a rib. They
- 38:03Speaker 1: put a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him,
- 38:06Speaker 1: and as they left, they yelled, this is Maga country again.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Make America great again. They're looking for him. Yeah, the
- 38:15Speaker 1: President needs to say something, denounce what happened. Does yeh,
- 38:20Speaker 1: he's not, but he should. I don't expect him to
- 38:23Speaker 1: breathe a word about this. And the reason I don't
- 38:26Speaker 1: think he's gonna breathe a word about it is because
- 38:30Speaker 1: he created those hats. Yeah, there are people who put
- 38:33Speaker 1: on those hats because make America great Again symbols symbolizers
- 38:38Speaker 1: to them make They want to go back to a
- 38:41Speaker 1: period when they identify America as great again. That's why
- 38:45Speaker 1: when I see a black person with that hat on,
- 38:48Speaker 1: I'm completely shocked because I'm trying to look at your
- 38:51Speaker 1: black ass and try to figure out what period in
- 38:54Speaker 1: the past you thought is we are to go back
- 38:57Speaker 1: to it again? Where what you what sixties, seventies, fifties, eighties,
- 39:04Speaker 1: where you're trying to get back to that was so
- 39:07Speaker 1: great for us. That startles me when I see black
- 39:10Speaker 1: people with that hat on. But the white groups that
- 39:14Speaker 1: wear the hat that are racist. Now, everybody that has
- 39:17Speaker 1: the hat on is not a racist. It's not a
- 39:21Speaker 1: white supremacist hate group. Some people wear the hat because
- 39:25Speaker 1: they interpreted make America great again something else. I don't
- 39:29Speaker 1: see what that is, but they do. So you can't
- 39:31Speaker 1: lump people together because they got a red hat on
- 39:34Speaker 1: and call them a racist or a hate group. I
- 39:36Speaker 1: don't believe that to be true. But when you put
- 39:38Speaker 1: it on in the name of hat, then you're wearing
- 39:41Speaker 1: the hat because that's what it does for you. And
- 39:43Speaker 1: you got to look at the source where they had
- 39:45Speaker 1: come from. It came from the dude that's in the
- 39:47Speaker 1: white up. Real Talk coming up at thirty four after
- 39:52Speaker 1: the hour, asked Steve, as we celebrate the tenth anniversary
- 39:55Speaker 1: of Acts Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. Oh,
- 39:58Speaker 1: show you that you're listening to show? All right, we're
- 40:04Speaker 1: celebrating the tenth anniversary of your book, Steve, Act Like
- 40:07Speaker 1: a Lady, Think Like a Man. I cannot believe it's
- 40:10Speaker 1: been ten years. I can't. Okay, God, yeah, yea. So
- 40:16Speaker 1: we're taking time now to ask Steve relationship questions from
- 40:20Speaker 1: um from Steve HARVEYFM dot com. Now here's a question.
- 40:24Speaker 1: It's rather long, so get ready. Here's a question submitted
- 40:26Speaker 1: from one of your loyal fans. Her name is Monica S.
- 40:29Speaker 1: She says, Hi, Steve, you were great with women and
- 40:32Speaker 1: how to understand how men really think and are. Here's
- 40:36Speaker 1: the new dilemma. Now that women are stronger, more successful,
- 40:40Speaker 1: and have a voice, many men feel less than or
- 40:43Speaker 1: not good enough to quote, get her or ask her out.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And I'm talking about many men. Can you do a
- 40:51Speaker 1: show or start a movement for men on how to
- 40:54Speaker 1: move with the cycle and not be intimidated. For today's
- 40:58Speaker 1: woman to up their game as we women are to
- 41:01Speaker 1: rise to the occasion. I have this conversation with my
- 41:04Speaker 1: twenty two year old often So this is from Monica
- 41:07Speaker 1: s Steve Well. I think let me let me let
- 41:12Speaker 1: me start it by saying this, first of all, ladies.
- 41:15Speaker 1: The the intimidation that men are feeling today, it's because
- 41:24Speaker 1: when you, as women, raise your standards, when you raise
- 41:29Speaker 1: the bar, that's a higher jump than we have to make.
- 41:34Speaker 1: And it's not that it's men are intimidated to jump
- 41:37Speaker 1: that high. It's just that they've never been required to
- 41:40Speaker 1: in the past. So you've created a new dilemma. And
- 41:45Speaker 1: you're absolutely correct, that is a new dilemma that's created.
- 41:48Speaker 1: But it's a great new dilemma because men will respond accordingly.
- 41:52Speaker 1: It'll take them a minute, but they're gonna find out okay,
- 41:56Speaker 1: oh okay, So they didn't pull it together, Oh they
- 42:01Speaker 1: got their self esteem together. Oh, they ain't falling for
- 42:05Speaker 1: this trick no more. And then a man just has
- 42:08Speaker 1: to make the adjustment that, okay, cool, this one's not
- 42:11Speaker 1: for games. And what you've actually done is that you've
- 42:16Speaker 1: you've eliminated the pretenders, so to speak. So the men
- 42:23Speaker 1: that aren't about to rise up to climb over your bar,
- 42:28Speaker 1: they've been knocked out. And it's not by intimidation. They
- 42:31Speaker 1: really just wouldn't go. They're not at your level? So
- 42:34Speaker 1: what you want? I'm not gonna ask you to dumb
- 42:36Speaker 1: it down. But if a guy's not willing to step
- 42:39Speaker 1: over the bar you've created, it's not that he's intimidated.
- 42:42Speaker 1: He just don't qualify. Every man can't qualify for you.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry, And you shouldn't give every man a chance
- 42:52Speaker 1: with you. It ain't no damn you know. This ain't
- 42:55Speaker 1: no time to be man. I give everybody this shot
- 42:58Speaker 1: to be fair to say what this is that nice?
- 43:02Speaker 1: So what should she do? Should she move in different
- 43:05Speaker 1: circles getting well? You know, as you elevate your game,
- 43:08Speaker 1: you know, the game got to be exposed to different places.
- 43:12Speaker 1: You know. It's other dating sites other than swipe right,
- 43:15Speaker 1: swipe left. It's things going on other than bumble. It's
- 43:19Speaker 1: stuff out there that you know, elite datas you know.
- 43:24Speaker 1: You know, it's it's a lot of stuff out there
- 43:26Speaker 1: that cost a little bit more to get one, and
- 43:29Speaker 1: I don't know them all. But there's other places to meet.
- 43:32Speaker 1: There's places you can go and associate that brings on
- 43:35Speaker 1: a different client tale of people. But if you keep
- 43:38Speaker 1: hanging around the same people, you go the same church,
- 43:40Speaker 1: the same dude coming in every s They a whole
- 43:43Speaker 1: lot of new dudes coming in. So you're saying she's
- 43:45Speaker 1: got to change her surroundings, do some different things. Yeah,
- 43:49Speaker 1: of course that's who she wants to attract. If you've elevated,
- 43:52Speaker 1: you got to get where at. But for the time being,
- 43:56Speaker 1: thought he wants to just don't nobody the one she
- 44:00Speaker 1: don't want to go below down there where you are.
- 44:04Speaker 1: I ain't down there. I'm just I'm down there. You
- 44:11Speaker 1: woke up. Some women want to come down here. No
- 44:15Speaker 1: they don't. There's bottom feeders, top feeders type. Someone's bottom feeders.
- 44:24Speaker 1: I mean, you may end up with it, but you
- 44:26Speaker 1: don't want to know. You're not Katherine. She's good Tommy
- 44:31Speaker 1: until you don't head turbot? What is turbo? Maybe you
- 44:37Speaker 1: need to get yourself some turbot? What what? What lake is? Daddy?
- 44:41Speaker 1: And what is turbot? All right, we gotta move on, guys.

- 50:30Speaker 1: I have clean at all time. Mister you shouldn't be

- 53:26Speaker 1: have to take the good with the bad. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 53:30Speaker 1: I need some advice on a different kind of double
- 53:32Speaker 1: standard with men and women. Mike's boyfriend has a lot
- 53:36Speaker 1: of flaws, and I overlooked them in the beginning because
- 53:39Speaker 1: I was really into him and wanted things to work out.
- 53:42Speaker 1: For example, when we met, he told me he lived
- 53:46Speaker 1: downtown in a brownstone, So a few weeks later I
- 53:49Speaker 1: went over to his place. I pulled up and he
- 53:52Speaker 1: escorted me in through the basement door and told me
- 53:55Speaker 1: he hangs out down there most of the time. So
- 53:58Speaker 1: we started kissing and may came out on the couch
- 54:01Speaker 1: and he had managed to take off all my clothes
- 54:04Speaker 1: and most of his. When someone knocked on the door.
- 54:08Speaker 1: He threw a blanket over me and went to answer
- 54:10Speaker 1: the door. It was a woman at the door. He
- 54:13Speaker 1: said it was his ex wife and she just stopped
- 54:16Speaker 1: in to say hi. Then he asked me if I
- 54:18Speaker 1: wanted to meet her. I was sitting there naked, mind you.
- 54:23Speaker 1: She went away, and he told me that he rents
- 54:25Speaker 1: a room in the basement from her, but she rarely
- 54:28Speaker 1: comes down there. I know I should have left him
- 54:31Speaker 1: alone then, but I didn't. Fast forward to when we
- 54:34Speaker 1: finally had sex for the first time, this man had
- 54:38Speaker 1: the nerve to joke about me having a squishy stomach,
- 54:44Speaker 1: and he told me that I could have done a
- 54:47Speaker 1: better job at trimming the hedges. Wow, if you know
- 54:52Speaker 1: what I mean, that was it. I cursed him out
- 54:55Speaker 1: and told him he's a borderline bum that lived with
- 54:58Speaker 1: his ex and he has a big stomach and a
- 55:00Speaker 1: little bitty everything else. Since then, he has not spoken
- 55:05Speaker 1: to me. I did not mean to hurt him. I
- 55:09Speaker 1: just wanted him to understand that he's not perfect either.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Why do women always have to take the good with
- 55:14Speaker 1: the bad, but men want us to be perfect and flawless.
- 55:17Speaker 1: What can I do to get this man back? Please?
- 55:19Speaker 1: Help girl get him back. You gotta run away and
- 55:28Speaker 1: keep running. Okay, Why would you want to get back
- 55:30Speaker 1: with a man who lives in the basement of his
- 55:33Speaker 1: ex wife's brownstone. I don't understand. And what is she
- 55:38Speaker 1: just stopping by to say hi for? Is this making
- 55:41Speaker 1: sense to anyone? Anybody out of here? Go? Okay, I
- 55:46Speaker 1: mean my answer is gonna be really short. I'm almost done. Okay,
- 55:50Speaker 1: not only that, I mean the man insulted you twice. Okay,
- 55:56Speaker 1: you don't have to take this from anyone. He said
- 55:58Speaker 1: you had a squishy stomach and all of that. Girl.
- 56:01Speaker 1: Please get yourself esteem up and listen to your gut
- 56:05Speaker 1: when it tells you to leave and leave him alone. Please. Yeah,
- 56:09Speaker 1: you already cursed and listen to your gut. Literally, somebody said,
- 56:13Speaker 1: come on, you already cursed him out and called him
- 56:16Speaker 1: a bum. Okay, level up, leave him alone? Okay, you
- 56:20Speaker 1: could do better. You could do better, Steve Hell Yeah,
- 56:28Speaker 1: just probably gonna be my favorite letter. How many minutes
- 56:31Speaker 1: I got before we go to break? Just give me
- 56:33Speaker 1: an ideal? You got about five? Good? Yeah? Good money?
- 56:37Speaker 1: Here we go. Your ex boyfriend has a lot of flaws,
- 56:43Speaker 1: and you overlooked him in the beginning because you was
- 56:46Speaker 1: into him and you won't step to work. So first
- 56:49Speaker 1: of all, he told you he lived downtown in a brownstone.
- 56:55Speaker 1: What a sad Jo live downtown in a brown stough.
- 57:02Speaker 1: So you go over to his place. You pull up.
- 57:05Speaker 1: This didn't get shaken to you. He escorts you in
- 57:10Speaker 1: through the basement. Dough told you he hang out down
- 57:15Speaker 1: there most of the time. So right after you get
- 57:19Speaker 1: on there called this grain hang out, y'all star kissing
- 57:23Speaker 1: here what the letter took a turn and making out
- 57:26Speaker 1: on the couch and hit the line in my favorite line.
- 57:31Speaker 1: And he hadn't managed to take off all my clothes
- 57:36Speaker 1: and most of his. He managed that and more. Damn
- 57:46Speaker 1: they're all in his so y'all almost completely naked. Then
- 57:52Speaker 1: somebody knocks on the door. He threw a blanket over
- 57:57Speaker 1: me and went to answer the dough. This ain't the
- 58:01Speaker 1: time to go to the dough if I'm almost naked.
- 58:05Speaker 1: I never stopped for that. Yeah, even in my old house,
- 58:14Speaker 1: the kid joy from the dough. Time, get your assay.
- 58:23Speaker 1: I'm not fit to throw no blanket over and go
- 58:25Speaker 1: to this dough. Yeah this, I don't need no blanket.
- 58:30Speaker 1: I'm busy. Go to the door, answer the dough and
- 58:35Speaker 1: it's a woman at the dough. Now he threw a
- 58:38Speaker 1: blanket over you. He almost naked. I don't know if
- 58:41Speaker 1: he went to the door with a sock on and
- 58:47Speaker 1: a hoodie, so he had to do with a sock
- 58:51Speaker 1: and a hoodie, just naked from the waist down, with
- 58:57Speaker 1: just one sock and a hood It was a woman
- 59:03Speaker 1: at the dough. He came back and told you it
- 59:05Speaker 1: was his ex wife, and she stopped by to say hi.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Then he asked me if I wanted to meet him. Hey,
- 59:14Speaker 1: you won't meet him. She right outside the dough. She
- 59:18Speaker 1: know you ain't him. I know you naked, but you're
- 59:22Speaker 1: sitting under this blanket. I was sitting there naked. She
- 59:27Speaker 1: went away, and he told me that he rents a
- 59:29Speaker 1: room in the basement from her, but she rarely comes
- 59:34Speaker 1: down there. I know I should have left him alone then,
- 59:37Speaker 1: but I didn't. Fast forward, we finally had sex for
- 59:42Speaker 1: the first time. Well, I know you couldn't at that time. No,
- 59:48Speaker 1: not with that hoodie on in that one socket and
- 59:51Speaker 1: his wife to him. It's kind of hard to be
- 59:54Speaker 1: in the mood after that, ain't it. This man had
- 59:58Speaker 1: the nerve to joke about me having a squashy stomach,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: and he told me I could have done him on
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: a better job trimming the head and if you know
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: what I mean. Well, well, that's was it. You cussed
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: him out and told him he's borderline bum that live
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: with his ex, and he got a big stomach and
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: a little bit of everything else. Since then, he ain't
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: spoken to me. Well, when we come back, we're gonna
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: find out why you ain't saying nothing left to you.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you why he ain't said a damn
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: thing to you. All right, Well, Steve, we're gonna have
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: part two of your response coming up at twenty three
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: after the hour. Subject of the Strawberry letter. You have
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: to take the good with the bad. We'll talk about
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: it right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve, Let's
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: recap today's Strawberry letter, and you have to take the
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: good with the bad. That is the subject. Let's go dating.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: His man had a lot of flaws. I told you
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: live downstairs downtown in the brownstone. Go down there, you
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: go through the basement though you don't even see the
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: living room. And then you did down to the basement.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: You down at the furnishing water heater. That's where you
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: ask you downstairs with the furnace of the water heating,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: and how your ass at the negative. I've done a
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: lot of stuff in mind, yeah, but getting naked over
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: that by that furnace, that's that's touching gold. I try
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: not to have my ass out when I'm about the
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: hot water heater, that flame with that pilot on it.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: It's a hard place to beat naked on them dust
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: balls down never, it ain't side of whales. It ain't
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: sexy down there. That little light you see that ain't
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: no cock. That don't count the that's the pilots man. Man,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: you get naked somehow, you wind up you naked. He
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: almost niked. Somebody knock on the though. He go to through.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: It's a damn woman. He come out and tell you
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: his wife. Ain't she over here? You want to meet him?
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: You butt out neked. He asked you you want to
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: meet his wife? Of course you told him no. She
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: went away. He told me he rent the rooms rarely
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: come down and fast forward. We finally had sex for
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: the first time. I'm assuming you was back down there
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: in the back capt Brownstone, Downtown, Brownstone. You you even
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: moting downtown? You downstairs? You ain't just downstairs, you're in
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: the basement. We cain't getting no lower in the house.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Now you ain't downstairs, you're in the damn basement. You
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: have sex down now. The man had the nerve to
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: joke about me having a squishy stomach. Then he told
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: me I could have done a better job trimming the
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: head just down there, if you know what I mean.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: That was it. I cust him out. I told him
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: he's a borderline bomb that lived with his ex wife.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: He got a big stomach and a little bitty everything else.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: That Since then, he ain't spoken to me. I ain't
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: mean to hurt him. But let's let's go with what
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: you said to him that you didn't mean to hurt him.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: You cussed him out. You didn't think that would hurt him,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: all right? Man? That maybe maybe not told him he
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: was borderline bomb. Heard worse than that before. That ain't
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: gonna hurt me. You live with your ex wife. That
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: would have hurt me, because once you might ex I'm out,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: you're damn he got a big stomach. That would have
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: bothered me a little bit. But you know, ain't nobody
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: said that told me about I know it's there. They
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: really bothered me. I don't even call it a stomach
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: no more. I you know, I refer to it as income.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: You say what you called you can said I gotta,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: but if you want to, I call it income. Yeah,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: I'm doing well, so I can get past the stomach
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: hit apart where you tried to take him to his knees.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: You got a big stomach and a little bit of
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: everything that hurt that. That's where the pain come in.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: I know my stomach, I know where it ain't flat
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: like it wll. But we all know what's under this
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: and know why you didn't chose to call it a
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: little bitty. It was the same size it was years.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: It's just the stomach them downside and got it looking at.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: That's what hurt his ass. That's the pain here. That's
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: why he ain't called you pack. It's that little bitty
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: everything else. And then I just wanted him understand. You know,
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: he ain't spoken to me. I ain't mean to hurt him.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I just want him to understand that he not perfect either.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Well he know now why the women always have to
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: take the good with the bad. But didn't want us
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: to be perfect? Mean, what what what are you talking about?
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: He ain't perfect. He stayed downstairs, under the downstairs, he
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: in the damn basement that he renting from his ex
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: wife who she don't want him, found out you was
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: in there and didn't even want to come in there
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: because she went, Good luck, baby. If this is who
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: you want, he down here in this damn basement, you
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: can have him. He got to shoot shots at you
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: because he ain't nothing. You don't see what he did.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: He tried to bring you down to make himself look better.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: He got a big stomach any in the house that
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: ain't here? What can I do to get this man back? What?
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: That's the part of even I walked back with him,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I think, what did he do? M He ain't said
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: nothing you like, He don't live where you like, He
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: ain't got the stomach your light. And now we didn't
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: find out all of them little eaty bitty party that
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: you don't like. His Jack Johnson can't even be called
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: Jack Johnson? What Jay just say? James? He got he
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: got another nickname like t t sweet pea, little mate,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: little mate, mighty mountain, tiny tots, no theater to come
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: over here with your tater top looking at it. You
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: take that big tater tops on, you look like three
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: little tater topes looking at me. All the Stuffy said
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: about her hies. Your tater is the same size as
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: your top his. Your two little tat is the same
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: size as your tie. You just follow here with three
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: tater toes. He's in a bit too much. She got
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: a squishy stumba. Yeah, yeah, he started it. Yeah, lady,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: I don't I don't see what you want with him.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I really don't want him back with his ex wife
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: at his ex wife's house. He stops by to say, Hi,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: all right, listen, we gotta get out of here. Please
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: email us or instagram us your thoughts on today's Strawberry
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: Letter at Steve Harvey f M. Now coming up in
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: ten minutes. Lifestyle guru B Smith has Alzheimer's disease and
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: her husband has a girl friend, and her fans are
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: not happy about it. We'll talk about that right after this.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, Steve. We all know B Smith,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: the lifestyle guru, former restaurantur. Well, she's now sixty nine
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: years old. She's battling Alzheimer's. Okay, oh yeah, they used
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: to call her the black Martha Stewart. Her husband Dan
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: has a girlfriend, and B Smith's fans are not happy
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: about this. Her husband revealed his relationship with his white
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: girlfriend on social media, and now B Smith's fans are
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: upset about it. So, um, people are like, what happened
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: to your vows? You know, when you take your vows
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: your marriage vows in sickness and in help. Some people
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: feel like the husband is being disrespectful. But before you judge,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: please take a listen to be Smith's husband explanation. This
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: courtesy of The Washington Post. Yeah, listen to this talking listen.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: I believe in the sanctity of marriage, but I don't
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: believe death. Do you part means that because you've made
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: a commitment, if the person is not there, that you
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: should sit there and watch your life shrivel up. And
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: that's why I am where I am today, taking care
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: of me and having someone else in my in my life.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Yeah that was what. Yeah, it's um. People are really
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: torn with this one. Yeah yeah, yeah. And I think
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: the woman comes in, she she spends a night there
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: at their home on the night, A couple of time
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: in the house, yeah, a couple of nights a week. Yeah,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: that's yeah. People are really torn though. Down at the door.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: What did you just say? That was stupid? Wait? What
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: about her about the woman staying at the house sometimes. Yeah,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: she stays there. She helps. Yeah, she helps the husband out,
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: helping the husband out. She didn't caregiver for who for?
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: She helps out. She helps take care of b Smith
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: she does, and his daughter who they both raised. She
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: also helps. And she seems to be fine with it
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: as well. Yeah, she supported her. Yeah, they're all there. Okay,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: that's this is a tough one. Oh, it's very tough. Yeah,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: a lot of people are. I don't know, man, I
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: don't know. I don't First of all, I don't know
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: why he talked. This ain't the time to come out
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: and make statement. He said he didn't want to hide
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: it anymore. Okay, Yeah, he was the one to reveal
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: the relationship on social media for media. What did you do?
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: That fault? That's what he did. Yeah. Now, but let
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: me say, because I know both of them met him before,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: I didn't notice about being I feel horrible about that.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Alzheimer's is horrible, horrible affliction. It really is. It robs
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: you of your mental capacity to remember, to think. I mean,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: it just takes the person that you are completely awake. Oh. Man,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: and this is his life now with his girlfriend Yep,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: his wife and his daughter and they are all taking
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: care of Miss Belt with her. Fans are upset. They
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: feel like maybe this woman is living off the lifestyle
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: that you know, b Smith, this empire, that you know
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: that's just right, and that he's being disrespectful for having
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: this woman in the home with his wife. What about
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: your vows in sickness and in health, they're saying, he
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: seems to ignore the part about in sickness and in health.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: You know. Um, yeah, people are, they're very much torn
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: with this situation. Look, he just didn't want to be
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: He wanted to bring it out in the open. Well, look,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: I can't judge. Yeah, it's not fair for me to
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: sit in judgment of another person's situation when I haven't
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: been faced with that exact member. Man, I haven't. The
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: last time I talked to There's nothing wrong. She was
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: so healthy, full of life. Matter fact, we were at
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: a restaurant. We were at her restaurant. That was a
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: long time ago, but I remember that, and I saw
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: at a place somewhere, and so she's always been this
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: really beautiful and vibrant person. So to see her suffer
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: from this and to hear about it is shocking. Now.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: To his credit, he did come out with an explanation
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: and said it, Uh if now here's depart If Bee's
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: daughter is okay, well his daughter together step his daughter.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: It's not her daughter, no, not her biological daughter. Now,
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: so I'm assuming he met her while she was a
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: caregiver for Bee. No, No, I'm not saying this woman
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: as a healthcare provider, caregiver. She he has a relationship
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: with this woman and she now is a part of
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: take helping the family take care of her. She that's
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: not her job. I'm saying that's what she's doing. Yeah,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: that's not her I'm not gonna say that's her profession.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: She was married to your part of it, to this
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: really rich guy, um who owned a lot of parking
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: space parking structures in New York where they live. But
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: they're they're no longer together, obviously. But she stays over
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: the girlfriend stays over a couple of nights and yeah,
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: sometimes she stays over there. Yeah, and in their home
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: y but and but his his thing is she's not
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: really there. He can't reach her, you know anymore like
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: that mentally, because she's been afflicted with I've seen the
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: first hand the men. Yeah, my father had dementia. It's tough.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: Some days you know who I was. Some days he didn't. Yeah,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: and and didn't They write a book together before her
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: this Alzheimer's took on, you know, such severity as it
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: is now. They wrote a book called Before I Forget Wow. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: And he's been with her a long time, so he
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: feels like he helped build that empire. Yeah, long time. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: they've been together over twenty something. Yeah, it's an interesting story.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: It's a sad situation. I can see both sides of
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: what people are saying. It's not for me to judge.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: For him to come forward, he must have really resolved
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: this in his mind. It's tough when your wife is
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: in the house and your girlfriend staying over there. That Yeah,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: I ain't gonna I ain't gonna be running that by
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: my family, all right, Steve, Uh, we gotta move on here.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour. It is
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: record cold in some parts of the country. And President
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Donald Trump jokes that we need global warming, but he
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: said global whamming, and when he tweeted, you know, he's
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: challenged in certain areas. Yeah, in certain areas. Sorry, we'll
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: talk about it when we come back right after this.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: You're listening to the Stave Harvey Morning Show, and our
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: deep freeze is blanketing the Midwest and Northeast this week,
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: sending temperatures plummeting below zero in many areas. President Donald
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Trump is using it as an opportunity to poke fun
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: at the claims of global warning. Warming displaced polar vortex
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: is dropping temperatures in the Midwest down to as low
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: as minus thirty degrees, with wind chills making it feel
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: like it's minus sixty. Oh jeez, I do not miss home.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: I do not miss home, President Trump tweeted last night,
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: in the beautiful Midwest, wind chilled temperatures are reaching minus
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: sixty degrees, the coldest ever recorded. In coming days, expect
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: to get even colder. People can't last outside even for minutes.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: What the hell is going on with global warming? Please
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: come back fast, We need you. His tweet was immediately
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: slammed by science and climate experts, who reminded the president
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: that global warming is what's causing extreme weather conditions. Also
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: FYI in the tweet, the President actually misspelled warming like
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: I said, he typed whaming of global whamming or whatever. No, No,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: are so job a m engines? Yeah? No, are just
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: president having the same troubles as your nephew. Were all
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: the troubles global yeah warming, global warming types. Our president
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: is just like my nephew. Y'all, go, do the mater
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: think than the president. I'm sorry to hear that, I
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: really am. You want a cookie for that? All right?
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Another related Donald Trump news he has accepted rescheduling his
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: speaking dates. Trump will now give the State of his
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Union on February fifth, after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi canceled
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: the original date that was set for January twenty ninth
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: due to the government shutdown. Of course, Pelosi invited Trump
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: on the rescheduled date on Monday, and he accepted the offer. Meanwhile,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen has agreed to speak in
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: private um to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: on February eighth. He was originally set to testify in
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: an open session, but canceled last Wednesday after claiming that
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: his family was being threatened by mister Trump. Well, if
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: you listen to what Trump was saying about his father
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: in law. And then Juliani came on on Cuomo and
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: said some more stuff about maybe we need to look
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: into his father in law. That was like connection. So
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: now once they got that out, so now if anything
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: happens to the father in law, they can tie it
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: back to ye what Trump said, and Giuliano said, So
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: now he going up there to testify on the aide
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: in a close session. Yeah. And I mean, I'm telling you, man,
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: this ain't gonna go good. See. You can say what
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: you want to say, but too many people that were
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: brought in by this president are now indicted, all the
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: President's men. What you're saying, this is who you've been
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: running with. He's a liar, he's a crook. You you
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: they worked for you. One of his aids wrote a book. Um, uh,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: what's the name of it by something about vipers. I
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: can't think of the title right right now. He every
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: picture you saw of the two of them, they were
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: right together. He was one of the President's eight. He's
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: been going around on his book tour talking about his book,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: and President Trump tweeted he was a low level assistant
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: boy Papadopolis. Um I'll get his name, um, but anyway, yeah,
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: he wrote he wrote it's a new book that's out
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: it's something vipers. His name is Cliff Sims. Yeah, Cliff Sims.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: And the book is called the Team, Team of Vipers. Yeah.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: And so he's been all over the TV. He's been
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: on CNN, he's been on the View, he's been everywhere
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: and talking about you know, what has gone on in
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: the White House and all of that. And every picture
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: they show it's of him in close par Yeah. They're
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: right together. And he was a low level employee. I'm like, what,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: he's right here with you every venture. Yeah, Team of Vipers,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: they're together. It's crazy. He just my five hundred extraordinary
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: days in the Trump White House. Yeah. Team of Vipers,
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: that's the name of the boy. Yeah, it's just gonna
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: have you. Have you all noticed Sarah Huckabee. What about her, Steve,
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: I'm just saying, keep her close after she's still there,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: though she has not, I can see it. You see
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: something they send to me off. I'm gonna tell y'all
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: what I saw, But I'm telling you I saw it
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: when she was talking the other day. I can't say
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: it on the air, but I'll tell you, but please
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: keep a close, said Huckabe. Ain't got loan for this.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: She looks a little weary because Kelly Conway. Kelly Conway
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: is actually good. She threw with this. She just she
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: just hanging on because people that told her she gonna quick.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: Oh they talk about Kelly and Conway. She just gonna
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: be spiteful. They hanging there. She wants to leave now.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Her husband leaker. Yeah, they say she's a leaker to her.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: And you know her husband a big Trump opponent. He
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: does not like Donald Trumpe. They live in the same house. Yeah, right, right,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: come on, now, that's sex. Ain't being good for the
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: last two years the election. That ain't no good since
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: he won. Oh, that's aggressive, It's not good. He don't
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: even want you. All right, coming up, we'll have more
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this you're
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: listening to. All right, There was an eye in the
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: sky over Bill Cosby last week, and prison officials are
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: not too happy about this. Someone flew a drone over
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: the Pennsylvania prison. Bill Cosby was being escorted through the
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: yard at the time. You know, he does get an
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: escort because of his blindness. The prison was immediately put
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: on lockdown for an entire your day. Officials believe someone
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: in the media was trying to get a shot of Cosby,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: but no pictures or videos have shown up online yet. Cosby,
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: of course, is joined three to ten years for sexual assault.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: I didn't know when he walking through the yard. The
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: probably someone they're telling because if they get that picture,
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: they're gonna split it with the god. Yeah, doc. The contraband.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: The majority of contraband is brought into prisons by gods. Right. Yeah,
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: they got a lot of other ways. But guards are
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: they're none of the most highest paid people in the world,
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: and you get caught, get caught in situation like if
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: something that makes you just be cool with them. There's
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: some cool people in prison, man. People don't understand that.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: And when I say that, how can you say they're
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: cool people? With their criminals? They are really some good
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: people made bad judgment call and wind up in prison.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: I'm not talking about people who murdering and raping people.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: You just the evil person. But this is a lot
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: of people that the committed non violent crimes. It just
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: got busted doing something they shouldn't have been doing. And
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: they some really really cool people, man, who deserve another chance.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: That victims have rights too, now, so yeah, you know,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: and another news, Steve, did you guys hear about this one?
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: The FaceTime software flaw? Flaw that allows iPhone spying, a
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: security flaw in the face I've been talking about sothern
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: called me and showed me hot work. Oh he did? Really?
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Did you get it? What you mean? I mean? Did
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: you understand what he was saying? Work? Well, it allows
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: you to secretly listen to an iPhone owner's conversations without
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: their knowledge, and Apple has confirmed the bug. You better
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: believe they're working around the clock if you correct it
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: old y'all, Sam Song androids Androids. They expect a software
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: update sometimes before Friday of this week. The trick to
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: spying on your iPhone friend is to make a FaceTime
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: video call. Okay, and while it's still ringing, you can
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: swipe up from the bottom of the screen and click
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: ad person, select your own phone number. You will be
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: able to hear the microphone on the phone of the
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: person you called, whether they take your FaceTime call or not.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: That will break up a happy right. Yeah, that's deep though,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: big brothers. Yeah you can, Yeah, you can turn it
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: off and then they can't do it up home. Get
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: that software over right now, quit using it? You're awfully quiet, Steve,
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Are you scared now? I don't even know how to
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: pick him? Wait before it was a book. He didn't
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: answer our phone call, right, goodness, he didn't FaceTime. I
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: really can't answer. You'll call now' gonna get me on
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: this booth text me back. That's crazy though, you know
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: that loring on evening? Yeah, think of the crazy stuff.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: You didn't say it though anybody all the time. Yeah,
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: that's not what you want. You get home. Who's Sandra? Huh?
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: Why you FaceTime? That's like Taragi's movie What Men Want?
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: You can read their minds now? Yeah, all right, more
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: of Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up right after this.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: You're listening to show some sad news and entertainment. This
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: is according to TMZ. Grammy winning R and B Legend
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: singer songwriter James Ingram has died from a battle with
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: brain cancer. James had been fighting the cancer for an
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: extended period of time. Actress and choreographer DeBie Allen reacted
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: to the news on Tuesday, saying, quote, I have lost
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: my dearest friend. James Ingram recorded several chart toppers in
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: the eight in the eighties, including his number one duet
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: with Patti Austin baby come to Me, Oh Lord, such
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: great music. Yeah, one hundred ways and just once. He
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: also won a Grammy for Yama Be There, his duet
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: with Michael McDonald, and another four one hundred ways. He
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: couldn't be denied with that one. James Ingram, of course,
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: worked closely with Quincy Jones over the years, recording and
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: writing hits. For instance, he and q co wrote Michael
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: Jackson's pyt Yeah, pretty young thing, legend, Steve, We're losing
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: all the great ones. Man. It's really sad because you know,
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: I had Shaka Khan on the show the other day,
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: and I, as Shaka Khan, I said, Shaka, what's the
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: big difference between artists of yesterday in your era and
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: artists today? And she, without hesitation, she said, it's talent.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: Oh wow. And it's because you know what she's saying
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: is she's saying it from this standpoint. It's not to
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: saying that these artists today aren't talented, because there are
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: something I can go down the list of some bad
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: people out there. Beyonce is the Michael Jackson of She's
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: the Queen of Party. She's the best female performer I've
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: ever seen in my life. I've seen all of them.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: I've seen them all, you know. I never saw Ella
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: Fitzgerald perform. I heard her, but and I've heard Whitney's voice.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: Whitney's voice is the best I've ever heard. But total performance,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: it's Beyonce. I've never seen that. There's some voices out there,
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: you know, or some stylish you know, but of yesterday,
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: what she was saying was it was so many it
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: was nothing for you to do. But saying, you know,
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: it was no you know, rap wing out then you know,
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: you had to be you had to be able to
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: sing Dolly. And even when rap first called on, it
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: was still R and B out there. We still had
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: adult contemporary music and the talent level was just outstanding.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: And that's what it is today. Man, It's just you've
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: got to go every so often. Today they produced a
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: single where you go, wow, there's Beyonce. Okay that girl
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: A Dale can say, oh you know you look around,
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: you know and you go okay, Now wait a minute.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: Christina Aguilara came flat out blow you know what I'm saying.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: Vivian Green can say, let se can Blowsia Keys give
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: it to a Jil Scott. You know, but Jill Scott
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: came out in two thousands. That was eighteen nineteen years.
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: That's crazy. Yeah, so Shackle was back in the seventies. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: you understand that era of singers you will never get again.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: I'm telling you you'll never get them again. Well the problem, yeah,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: the great ones. Yeah, all right, Steve, coming up our
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: last break of the day closing remarks. Okay, get ready people,
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: right after this, you're listening. All right here we are
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: last break of the day, Steve. I know you have
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: some closing remarks for us today. What you got I mean, man, um,
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: I've read some good books, man, Bishop Jake's books are
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: basic instincts. Great book, man, just a great book. I really,
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: for the most part, only have the time to read
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: certain types of books, and the types of books I
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: usually choose to read the self help books, you know,
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: books where I can improve myself. You know, that would
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: include the Bible. But there are some books out there
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: that I've written spiritually based that are very very helpful. Also.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: And Joel Osteen has a book. I think I told
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: you a little bit about it earlier this week. The
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: name of the book is next level thinking. Next level
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: thinking says it all. Because let me explain something. I
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: don't care who you are. If you want to get
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: to the next level, if you don't want to stay
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: where you are, if you want to elevate yourself and
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: get to the next level, you're going to have to
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: change your current thinking. See listen to me, y'all. All
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: of us have thought ourselves to where we are now.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: We ain't got nobody else to blame. Oh, you can
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: choose to do it that way. Well, if they hadn't
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: done me wrong, if I hadn't lost my job, I
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: got all that. Things do happen in life. Admittedly, things
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: come along that we have no control over that can
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: set us back at times. I am fully aware of that.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: But in order to grow, you've got to pick up
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: the slack and take the blame. Because you can't change
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: another person. You can't make another person be something you
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: want them to be. You can't stop everybody from hating
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: on you. You can't stop the plant from closing. You
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: might not be able to stop foreclosure on your home.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: You might not be able to get that child of
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: yours to graduate. For nothing in the world. So there
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: are things that are going to happen that you have
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: no control over. The one thing you can really control
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: is you. You can do something about you. So here's
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: the deal. If you are somewhere in life and you
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: desire to go to the next level. In order to
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: get to the next level, I don't care who you are,
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: you have to change some thinking. If I want to
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: get to the next level that I'm trying to accomplish,
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: I have to change some of my current thinking. Because
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: we've all thought ourselves to where we are right now.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: We are all a product of our thoughts and actions,
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: all of us, all of us, every last one of us.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: We are partly responsible and greatly responsible for where we
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: are now. Thank you for the grace of God that
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: many of us are in places that we couldn't have
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: possibly worked ourselves into. And I want to volunteer my
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: hand and stick it up in the air because I
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: am one of those people. My life is covered with
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: God's grace. I'll give him that. But let me explain
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: something to you. If I don't put the work in,
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: what can God? What does God put his finger on
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: to bless? So what I'm saying is, we've all thought
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: ourselves to where we are, and thank God for his
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: grace that we are all. Some of us are further
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: along than we even should be. I'm included. But if
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: you have any intention of growing, expanding, developing, being more successful,
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: being happier, more well liked, being more meaningful, more impactful
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: of a person, you want to be effective in more
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: people's lives. You want to be a catalyst for change,
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: you are going to have to change your thinking. It
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: will not happen unless you change your thinking. So as
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: well as you might think I've been I'm doing, I
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: want you to know something. The plan that I have
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: for myself, the one that I'm confiding in God with
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: on a daily basis, has required. As Joelo's Teams book says,
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: that you're gonna have to develop some next level thinking.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: I met with a billionaire one time, and I'm feeling
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: okay about myself, and I'm at this house and I'm realizing, Man,
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: this dude right here is on some whole a nother
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: And as we got to talking after hours and hours,
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: he says, Steve, Steve, you're gonna have to elevate your things.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: I said, man, I'm a really positive person. He said, yeah, well,
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: you're gonna have to let me see the phrase he
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: used to me. He's I can't think of the exact
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: phrase he said to me, but I got the message.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: You're gonna have to big up, meaning you're gonna have
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: to supersize everything. If you want to change ten thousand
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: boys lives a year, you gotta start thinking of how
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: you can change a million of them a year. I
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: went wow. He said, if you want to send ten
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: thousand kids to school, he said, you should change your thinking.
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: How do you send a million of them to school?
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: He said, Man, if your goal is to make a
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: thousand millionnaires, how do you make a million millionnaires? He said?
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: That's how billionaires think. They just they level everything up.
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: Everything goes up with them. They think up, therefore they
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: act up. Therefore they become up, therefore they come up.
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: It's crazy, man, You've got to develop next level thinking.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: I recommend Joel olds Teen's book. I kid you not, man,
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: It's just a great book. But you gotta change the
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: way you think everybody because you want to do better.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: You got to change those are my cold drop it
