- 0:05This is genuine connections featuring
- 0:07collaborative conversations about
- 0:09community, content, creativity,
- 0:12commerce, and the convergence of media
- 0:14and marketing.
- 0:21Welcome to a very special episode of
- 0:24Genuine Connections here at Possible
- 0:262026 in Miami Beach. I am Genuine CMO
- 0:31Matt Wurst and I am excited to have two
- 0:33very special guests here with me on set
- 0:36on site here in the genuine suite and we
- 0:40are going to be talking about a topic
- 0:41that I think overlaps and intersects
- 0:44with all of us. But I want to first
- 0:45acknowledge our guests here and visitors
- 0:48in the room. We are doing this live. So
- 0:51as we know in Hollywood and maybe in
- 0:53Miami, this is uh this is this is this
- 0:57is going to be an adventure. So, I'm
- 0:58excited to have you guys. Welcome. I
- 1:00have with me Ashen Khan, who's the head
- 1:03of global agency partnerships at Uber
- 1:05Advertising, and Scott Hendrickson, CRO
- 1:08at Firmly. So, welcome guys.
- 1:09>> Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:10>> How is your possible Ben? Is it more
- 1:12probable at this point or is it still
- 1:14possible?
- 1:14>> It's deterministic actually.
- 1:17>> And we're going to start measuring
- 1:18outcomes almost immediately in real
- 1:20time.
- 1:21>> It's been an amazing event. Like 7,00
- 1:23people here. This is like it's a it's
- 1:26been amazing. I want to just let you
- 1:29guys both introduce yourselves cuz it's
- 1:31somewhat rare that we have two guests in
- 1:33this conversation.
- 1:34>> The first on all the way to my right is
- 1:37Ashen.
- 1:39>> Sure.
- 1:39>> Thank you.
- 1:41>> Uh thanks for having us Matt. Uh Ashan
- 1:43again I lead our global agency
- 1:45partnerships team with Uber Advertising
- 1:47and excited to be here. So thanks for
- 1:49having us.
- 1:50>> Cool. And I'm Scott Henderson, chief
- 1:52revenue officer at uh Firmly.
- 1:54>> Okay. So, our topic today that we're
- 1:57going to be talking about broadly, but
- 1:58we'll,
- 1:59>> you know, we'll go up and down the Miami
- 2:01coastline here having having a
- 2:03conversation,
- 2:03>> but we've called this episode from
- 2:06discovery to decision, collapsing the
- 2:09distance between content and commerce.
- 2:11And as we've heard throughout the week
- 2:14here, people talking about retail and
- 2:16commerce media, about AI and tech, about
- 2:20how the intersection of consumer
- 2:21behavior is informing and then informed
- 2:24by the technology, the creative, the
- 2:27tools we're all using, the tools that we
- 2:29are building. And in some ways, it's
- 2:31becoming even more autonomous and
- 2:32adaptive than ever, which is exciting.
- 2:35>> I though heard someone say recently that
- 2:37the funnel is dead. And then I heard
- 2:39more people say it. And then I started
- 2:40hearing everyone say it. Have you heard
- 2:42this expression that the funnel is dead
- 2:44in our ecosystem? Is it becoming
- 2:46commonplace?
- 2:48>> I mean, I think it's it's the funnel is
- 2:50absolutely evolving. I think if you if
- 2:52you look back when digital first reared
- 2:55its head, the the the purchase funnel
- 2:57became coined more of a purchase
- 2:59pretzel, right? You might start online,
- 3:01then you go to in store, you go mobile,
- 3:03and it like you the the user is moving
- 3:06around in different places. It wasn't
- 3:07just go to a store and be and be done.
- 3:09If you look at today in a world of of
- 3:11AI, the funnel is becoming more from my
- 3:15perspective more like an accordion,
- 3:17>> right? Where if you're you go into an
- 3:20LLM and you search for a specific
- 3:22specific product, immediately you have
- 3:25an answer, right? And that answer might
- 3:28be the right answer, it might be the
- 3:29wrong answer and it gives you the
- 3:31opportunity to to buy right then and
- 3:32there. If that's not what the user
- 3:35wants, then it expands. it potentially
- 3:38expands back out, right? User at, you
- 3:40know, looks for more information to say.
- 3:42So, I think it's I think it's absolutely
- 3:44evolving. It sure as hell is not is not
- 3:46dead by any consider by any thought. And
- 3:49I think if you look at consideration and
- 3:51the media that's needed in order to
- 3:52drive brand awareness
- 3:55>> um and consideration is still absolutely
- 3:58absolutely critical. The question is how
- 4:00do you connect the upper funnel to um
- 4:03ultimately you know bottom funnel
- 4:05conversion which is where which is what
- 4:06I think is is evolving and super
- 4:08exciting
- 4:08>> and Ashton from where you set this
- 4:11journey
- 4:12>> literally and both figuratively I guess
- 4:14metaphorically and in every way right
- 4:16Uber and Uber advertising is all about
- 4:19connecting the journey the decisions the
- 4:21discovery and the experience throughout
- 4:23it is not linear the ride may be linear
- 4:25sometimes
- 4:26>> but the experience for the consumer is
- 4:27not so what's changed
- 4:29over the last few years and even more
- 4:31recently from your perspective.
- 4:33>> Yeah, sure. And picking up on um Scott's
- 4:35point like the funnel is not dead.
- 4:37Brands still need to drive awareness,
- 4:38drive cons consideration, conversion,
- 4:41etc. I think it's the way that it
- 4:42operates. What we see I think a big
- 4:44difference that we see is the um
- 4:46intention that and the specificity that
- 4:48people come into the platform with. So
- 4:50the discovery to conversion is uh is
- 4:53sort of shortened, right? you you get in
- 4:55an Uber, you're entering the Font
- 4:58Fountain Blue or Eden Rock, etc. So,
- 5:00people are coming in with a a specific
- 5:02item in mind even on the Uber Eat side
- 5:04when they come in to purchase beverage,
- 5:06per purchase food, etc. So, the um that
- 5:09piece has changed. So the opportunity in
- 5:12terms of like hey okay how does a brand
- 5:13sort of get their awareness or get their
- 5:15message and then help drive a conversion
- 5:18um just kind of happens a little bit
- 5:19differently through whether it's through
- 5:21the content whether it's through the
- 5:22messaging or even through the ad
- 5:23products
- 5:24>> and Uber advertising is sitting on a
- 5:26trove of data you know where I'm going
- 5:29where I've been now more broadly what
- 5:32I'm eating where I'm ordering from where
- 5:34I'm helicoptering to. I don't know is
- 5:36that evening still a thing? I'm not
- 5:38sure. Um, but with all of that data, and
- 5:42I'm sure there are so many platforms
- 5:44that are just jealous of the information
- 5:45that you have. Um, how does that change
- 5:48what a commerce media experience and a
- 5:51network can actually deliver versus
- 5:54where brands have kind of been promised
- 5:57something by every other retail or
- 5:59commerce media?
- 6:00>> Yeah, sure. Solution.
- 6:02>> Yeah. I won't necessarily speak against
- 6:04the others at the market.
- 6:05>> What's unique and special about it? It
- 6:07it is both sides of the house in terms
- 6:09of understanding what are their purchase
- 6:11behaviors and decisions on the Uber Eat
- 6:13side and then also on what we call a
- 6:16mobility side. You think about the rider
- 6:17app, the black app, what's their
- 6:19behaviors, what are their destinations,
- 6:20what are their trips and how do we
- 6:22actually help brands uh kind of connect
- 6:24and bridge both sides of it, right? So,
- 6:27if you are if you're a CPG or a QSR
- 6:30brand, there's a there's a whole another
- 6:32set of valuable insights to help inform
- 6:35your decisions about who do you want to
- 6:37target, what message do you want, do you
- 6:39want to actually drive them to your app,
- 6:41to the store, or back into Uber Eats to
- 6:43drive a conversion. So, it's a really uh
- 6:46kind of complete and full ecosystem that
- 6:48we can actually bring to a brand and
- 6:49have a have a pretty interesting
- 6:50conversation around. And and Scott, I
- 6:53know firmly is built around buying at
- 6:56the moment of inspiration,
- 6:59>> right? Where is that moment actually
- 7:01happening now? Is there one place or
- 7:04there multiple places or can it not even
- 7:06really be pinpointed because it's
- 7:07happening everywhere and all the time?
- 7:11>> Yeah. So um so so firmly what we've what
- 7:14we've built is we've enabled we've
- 7:16created a technology that enables a user
- 7:18to check out with a merchant
- 7:20irregardless of where they of where they
- 7:21are. Um and so that could be inside of a
- 7:24publisher experience where publishers
- 7:25are recommending content instead of
- 7:28redirecting out to an affiliate through
- 7:30an affiliate link and there being 15
- 7:32clicks in order to ultimately drive a
- 7:35conversion. Right? you could the
- 7:37publisher can now convert the user right
- 7:39then and there uh inside of LLMs um
- 7:42which is a commerce is obviously an
- 7:44extremely extremely important and um uh
- 7:48topic today uh and one that's going to
- 7:50completely change commerce in the in the
- 7:52future um it can now happen inside of an
- 7:55LLM it can happen inside of an ad
- 7:56experience uh it can happen into inside
- 7:58of a vertical um shopping assistant like
- 8:01a wizard AI and so these are all things
- 8:03that are happening today that firmly
- 8:06specifically is is enabling and it's
- 8:08just simply at making it easier for the
- 8:10consumer to buy the product when and
- 8:13where they want to buy the product,
- 8:14right? But doing it in a way where the
- 8:16merchant still benefits, right? Merchant
- 8:18still remains the merchant of record.
- 8:19The data still flows to the merchant.
- 8:21This isn't Tik Tok shop. We are the
- 8:22antithesis of Tik Tok shop.
- 8:25>> Tik Tok shop I mean you look at the
- 8:26success that they've had. Mind-boggling,
- 8:28incredibly huge. The problem with Tik
- 8:30Tok shop is that the merchant is not the
- 8:32merchant record. the Tik Tok shop is and
- 8:34Tik Tok has specifically said I'm not
- 8:36sharing any data with any so that's so
- 8:39the question around lifetime value if
- 8:41you're a merchant you want to make it
- 8:42easier for a consumer to buy but you
- 8:44need to maintain that that lifetime that
- 8:46lifetime value so I think that
- 8:47holistically the question isn't whether
- 8:50you the the merchant should enable a
- 8:53checkout experience wherever the
- 8:55consumer wants to do it if the question
- 8:56is how um and um how do they do it in a
- 9:00way that benefits their business while
- 9:02also making it easier um for the
- 9:05consumer. You
- 9:06>> know, we've been now 48 hours here in
- 9:09Miami and we're immersed in innovation
- 9:12and relationships and authentic and
- 9:15genuine connections that are happening.
- 9:17But we also hear the word agentic
- 9:19attached to everything. I think I was in
- 9:21an agentic elevator ride. I was in an
- 9:24agentic Uber ride at one point. I don't
- 9:26I can't keep track of it.
- 9:26>> Was it really you? No.
- 9:28>> Was it? I don't know. I'm here, but is
- 9:30it me? Who knows? Um, Ashton, I guess
- 9:32I'll start with you. From the from the
- 9:35media side, what does a Gentic actually
- 9:38mean for a commerce media experience?
- 9:43>> Sure. I think it's um, uh, how are we
- 9:46deploying the technology to make things
- 9:49a little bit more seamless? I think the
- 9:51um, the big piece and kind of picking up
- 9:54on what you said is around the
- 9:55measurement side of it, right? And so
- 9:57how do we also because with these new
- 9:59solutions agent versus in a chatbot etc.
- 10:03It sort of further fragments the market.
- 10:05So how do we as between publishers
- 10:07between brands between marketplaces kind
- 10:09of help push and ensure that we are able
- 10:11to support measurement on all sides of
- 10:13the house so that for the brand it's
- 10:15still very understandable in terms of
- 10:17hey where's the uh where's the
- 10:19conversion coming from you know to your
- 10:20point on the hey how does a gentic work
- 10:23within a a commerce network. I mean
- 10:25there's many applications and you see
- 10:27some of the things that have been
- 10:28announced in the past whether it's
- 10:29around shop assistant etc. So
- 10:31>> yeah even even payment transaction
- 10:33optimization at some point right we've
- 10:35we've heard we've heard people talking
- 10:37about and and from from your perspective
- 10:39Scott like the transaction side you've
- 10:41built
- 10:42>> the pipes what's real today and what's
- 10:46like 18 months 5 years out
- 10:50>> yes
- 10:51>> and like where are merchants even
- 10:52wasting their time.
- 10:53>> Yeah. So um I think I I think today so
- 10:57when you think about agentic commerce
- 10:59today there's still very much a human in
- 11:01the loop. So like as an example, when we
- 11:04say that we are an agentic commerce
- 11:05platform, what that specifically means
- 11:07is that we have agents that understand
- 11:09how how to integrate into a merchants's
- 11:12backend to then enable to then surface
- 11:16their product pages, their product
- 11:18catalog, their real-time price,
- 11:20real-time inventory, their checkout into
- 11:23these different destinations. Now, when
- 11:25the user checks out, it's clear as day
- 11:27that they're checking out. with Best
- 11:28Buy. The human is pressing the button
- 11:30that says buy I want to buy these
- 11:32AirPods with with with Best Buy. They
- 11:35just happen to be doing it inside of
- 11:37Wizard AI or inside of a publisher. So
- 11:40the method in how we integrate is done
- 11:42through our agents, the tech that we've
- 11:44built, but and and we surface this
- 11:47inside of Agentic channels like LLMs,
- 11:52but it's not an independent agent
- 11:55working on behalf of a user who says,
- 11:57"I'm going to Miami. Um, please book me
- 12:00a hotel that's near the Fountain Blue
- 12:02and do it for a price that's x, y, and
- 12:04z." Like, you know, or I'm going on
- 12:06vacation with my wife. Please find a
- 12:08spot. If there's an agent that can
- 12:10understand my wife, God bless you. I
- 12:11love you. You're beautiful. Um, like I
- 12:13would absolutely love that. I don't
- 12:15think that we're I don't think that
- 12:16>> the promise.
- 12:17>> I don't think we're I don't think we're
- 12:19there. But but we will get to a place
- 12:21especially if you think about like
- 12:22Uber's use case. I think that broadly
- 12:25speaking, not all shopping journeys are
- 12:27created equal. They're not the same. In
- 12:29the media, they talk about it all as
- 12:31though it's all the same and
- 12:32everything's going to be disrupted in a
- 12:33huge way. for you to say, "Uber, please
- 12:37um get buy me or I want to order two
- 12:40pies from my favorite pizza shop." Like,
- 12:43you've already gone through that
- 12:44purchase consideration. You trust Uber,
- 12:46you trust, you know the pizza that you
- 12:48want to buy. And so that maybe you might
- 12:50delegate to an agent. But when it comes
- 12:53to travel, when it comes to clothes,
- 12:56when it comes to anything that requires
- 12:57purchase consideration, it's still very
- 12:59much a human in the loop. I think both
- 13:02today and also in the future. Um I also
- 13:05think that like as we look look ahead
- 13:08several years I think there's like two
- 13:10key things two conversations in the
- 13:12marketplace that will ultimately
- 13:15um come come together. One is you've got
- 13:18attention right like how do you get a
- 13:20user's attention in order to drive
- 13:24certain consideration create awareness
- 13:26uh you know etc right? And there's lots
- 13:28of technology that's focusing on that.
- 13:30There's also lots of technology that's
- 13:31focused on convenience, right? Both
- 13:33things that you know convenience, how do
- 13:35you make it easier for a user to just
- 13:37buy, shop, engage, etc. Like two key
- 13:41things. I think those two worlds will
- 13:44eventually start coming together where
- 13:46if you're deploying a brand media
- 13:48campaign, why not give them the
- 13:50opportunity to to buy now if that's what
- 13:52they want to do? Right now, they're
- 13:53they're happening in in in silos and it
- 13:56doesn't make any it doesn't make a lot
- 13:57of sense. It's you you got their
- 13:59attention. There's some context there.
- 14:02If the user wants to buy, great. If they
- 14:04don't want to buy, that's that's fine
- 14:05too, right? But and you can measure it
- 14:07there. So be there two different forms
- 14:09of measuring
- 14:09>> revenue on the table because there is
- 14:12this gap between the attention and the
- 14:16actual transaction. So whose job is it
- 14:18to build the solution that solves for
- 14:22this? Is there someone working on that?
- 14:24Is there a right answer or is it really
- 14:26that's the blue sky right now and where
- 14:28that gap can be closed? It's up for
- 14:31grabs.
- 14:32>> Yeah, I mean I think it's sort of a
- 14:35collaboration of multiple parties,
- 14:36right? Like everyone's going to have
- 14:37their own either policy what they're
- 14:40willing to share from a data standpoint.
- 14:42So it's going to be a collab I don't
- 14:44think it's too different uh from what
- 14:47groups are trying to do now between
- 14:49agency, brand, partner, platform, etc.
- 14:52this it's sort of increased
- 14:54collaboration to ultimately like all
- 14:56ships will rise if we help show that
- 14:58brand X has driven positive results or
- 15:01whatever the case is right
- 15:02>> so I want to I want to drill into that
- 15:05one one bit because you're working with
- 15:06agencies
- 15:08>> um I have an agency background I know
- 15:10they continue to evolve
- 15:12>> very rapidly there is consolidation and
- 15:14I'm not going to ask you to comment on
- 15:16any of that because in many ways as
- 15:19these moments of transformation happen
- 15:21agencies are often at the forefront of
- 15:22defining it.
- 15:23>> When the social media era was first
- 15:26really driving marketing and consumer
- 15:28experiences, it was agencies working
- 15:30with their brands to enable what could
- 15:32happen on the platform. Now, here we are
- 15:35again in this new wave of
- 15:38commerce and retail and Agentic all
- 15:42colliding and maybe converging in some
- 15:44way. Does that make commerce media
- 15:48easier or harder to sell now that
- 15:50agencies are back in this limelight of
- 15:54and potential for driving opportunity?
- 15:57>> I I wouldn't say it's harder to sell or
- 16:00easier. I think some of the silos that
- 16:02have existed in this industry in
- 16:05perpetuity kind of still
- 16:08>> are still there, right? And our platform
- 16:09is is very unique in terms of if you
- 16:11think about the Uber Eats side and what
- 16:13it can do for endemic categories on the
- 16:15CPG and on the QSR side as opposed to uh
- 16:19what we would say are non-endemic uh
- 16:21clients uh and and sort of where they
- 16:24lean into from an ad solution etc.
- 16:26Right? So the um some of those things
- 16:29still have to be addressed. I wouldn't
- 16:31say it's it's necessarily harder or
- 16:34easier. I think it's the opportunity of
- 16:36sort of how you educate the marketplace
- 16:38and kind of find that common ground
- 16:40right so we are talking about hey like
- 16:42what's unique and if we if we take this
- 16:44very uh commerce endemic uh focused
- 16:47approach again the opportunity is on
- 16:50what we would say is the mobility side
- 16:51right like you may be a a pizza brand or
- 16:54a burger brand or whatever the case is
- 16:55and do tons of volume and drive tons of
- 16:57conversions within the Uber Eats side of
- 16:59it but don't forget about the other side
- 17:01like those same people are not just
- 17:02ordering on Uber Eats to have stuff
- 17:04delivered or to go and pick it up.
- 17:06They're taking trips in an Uber. They're
- 17:08doing all these other activities. So, so
- 17:10I think it still comes down to uh the
- 17:13job of like education helping to helping
- 17:16to sort of move the ball forward on
- 17:17multiple sides because you know you
- 17:19still have uh clients and so forth where
- 17:22some say actually if it's if it's a
- 17:25commerce or if you're bucketed into
- 17:26retail media the brand is going to own
- 17:28that. If you're upper funnel the agency
- 17:30is going to own that. So some of these
- 17:32silos still have to they they still
- 17:34exist and we're still uh sort of driving
- 17:36on all sides to to move the ball
- 17:38forward.
- 17:38>> So the answer to the question who
- 17:40actually owns the advertiser
- 17:41relationship now is it depends.
- 17:44>> I I mean I think to be honest it's sort
- 17:46of always dependent to a degree, right?
- 17:49So it kind of Yeah, I guess. Yeah. So,
- 17:52>> um, and Scott, you've been you've been
- 17:55part of and through multiple
- 17:57acquisitions and exits, which is an
- 18:00incredible adventure for those in the
- 18:02entrepreneurial space and those in the
- 18:04technology space. And it's, you know,
- 18:05comes with highs and lows, but it also
- 18:07means being proactive, being adaptive
- 18:09and reactive.
- 18:11At this moment, like where we are in
- 18:13this inflection point that I think um,
- 18:15so many of us feel but maybe not able to
- 18:18clearly define yet. What does a merchant
- 18:21or a a media company actually need to
- 18:24have in place whether it's operationally
- 18:26or even technically before an
- 18:28infrastructure partnership like firmly
- 18:32is can create like real value for for um
- 18:36a partner?
- 18:37>> Yeah. I mean, so I I guess how how I'd
- 18:40answer that that that question is it
- 18:43it's it's to start, right?
- 18:46old former CEO of mine um would would
- 18:49regularly say just left foot right foot
- 18:50like just keep just keep going forward
- 18:52just just kept just just start just just
- 18:54walk you don't just you don't need to
- 18:56run you don't you just take a step so
- 18:58for those who and the coralary is a lot
- 19:02of folks on the publisher or the
- 19:04platform side they don't yet really know
- 19:06what to do with the data so the fact
- 19:09that they might utilize our APIs to
- 19:12create a native checkout experience they
- 19:14understand exactly
- 19:15at a skew level what products were
- 19:18purchased as a result of their ad or the
- 19:20content that was that they produced
- 19:22which is a first time all right um for
- 19:24for them like right now if you look more
- 19:27holistic like more broadly like through
- 19:28affiliate links etc u attribution is
- 19:31delayed it takes 30 to 60 days to
- 19:33understand what your what actually what
- 19:35sales were generated but you don't know
- 19:37what they bought you wrote an article
- 19:38about airpods and they end up buying
- 19:40diapers uh through you don't know you
- 19:43don't know the answer to that question
- 19:44right and So um a lot of them don't know
- 19:46what to do with the data to then figure
- 19:49out how to activate it. So like step one
- 19:52is is is start see better see better
- 19:55conversions see better engagement. Step
- 19:56two is utilize the data as a way to say
- 19:59okay for these customers I can now
- 20:00re-engage them in a more intelligent way
- 20:02and recommend product. I just saw that
- 20:04they they just bought AirPods because of
- 20:06the article last week. I just saw the
- 20:08user again. Maybe I should use that data
- 20:11to give them a different product
- 20:13recommendation. Right? because and you
- 20:14start to understand the the the your
- 20:16users at a at a true user level and then
- 20:20be able to service them in ways that
- 20:22you've never been able to service them
- 20:23before, right? Like that's a massive
- 20:26massive massive opportunity.
- 20:28>> That doesn't all need to be solved day
- 20:31one. I would encourage them to move very
- 20:33very quickly.
- 20:34>> We call that textual continuity
- 20:36>> in a look in in a world where LLMs
- 20:39continue to eat others lunches, right?
- 20:42They they're take from whether it be
- 20:43publishers, apps, etc. They're taking
- 20:45attention,
- 20:47right, from other from other channels.
- 20:49The only way in to survive is to have
- 20:52better relationships with your
- 20:54customers. The only way to do that is to
- 20:55better to have better data to help
- 20:57understand exactly who they are and what
- 20:59they want and then how to and and
- 21:01service them. That that's a huge path.
- 21:03That's a huge opportunity, a huge path
- 21:05forward.
- 21:06>> Not too different than what Uber has,
- 21:08right? and what Uber does. You can see
- 21:10you can see the history and you guys
- 21:12know how to recommend and and and and
- 21:14use that better than anybody. There's a
- 21:16lot of other publishers, apps, and
- 21:18channels that should be following in
- 21:20Uber's footsteps. Um they're far away
- 21:23from getting to where Uber is today. Um
- 21:26but it doesn't need to that does but it
- 21:27doesn't need to be in the far too far
- 21:29distant future for them to get there,
- 21:31especially at the speed of which the
- 21:32market and this technology is evolving.
- 21:34So I want to I I'll wrap up and and ask
- 21:37a a timely question based on the fact
- 21:40that we are here at possible. It is a
- 21:42marathon of meetings. It is a
- 21:45>> sprint in the sunshine. We all come back
- 21:47a little bit sweaty after between these
- 21:50meetings and waiting for elevators and
- 21:52dodging people in the in the lobbies.
- 21:55But is there something that you've heard
- 21:57or as part of meetings or maybe even
- 22:00someone on a panel on stage whether it's
- 22:02a CMO or a media lead that they're
- 22:05saying that they're sharing that they're
- 22:07pontificating about that you're like yes
- 22:09this is this is right this is what we
- 22:12are getting right about the commerce
- 22:14media space right now about the consumer
- 22:16experience where we are today or on the
- 22:19flip side is there one thing you've
- 22:20heard you can user's choice here that
- 22:23you're like nope I need to correct this.
- 22:25We need to get ahead of this. Either
- 22:27one. So, let's start with you, Ash.
- 22:29>> Yeah, sure. I think the um and even a
- 22:31little bit more broadly on the than just
- 22:33commerce is the
- 22:35the I would say like the systems and the
- 22:38data collaboration and how we work
- 22:40together to do exactly some of what uh
- 22:43Scott was just talking about, right?
- 22:44like the the ability for us to actually
- 22:47help a client make sense of our
- 22:49audiences and our data, match it to
- 22:52their data sets and how how quickly
- 22:54that's also accelerating and improving
- 22:56on the sort of hold co agency side is is
- 22:59the is an area of opportunity and sort
- 23:01of a massive area of excitement, right?
- 23:03Because then it just kind of helps sort
- 23:05of power the flywheel all that much more
- 23:06faster and again kind of helps the the
- 23:08whole industry perform better. So, so,
- 23:10so again maybe a little bit geeky, but I
- 23:13am very excited for how the measurement
- 23:15and understanding the different houses
- 23:18and the different data sets are moving
- 23:19to to sort of help all parties.
- 23:22>> Yeah. So, the one positive I'm a
- 23:26positive guy, man. You know what I mean?
- 23:27Like I always got to talk I got to talk
- 23:29about the good stuff, right? But the
- 23:31positive is that that that everything
- 23:34>> in the future will be retail media in
- 23:35some form because it'll be tied back to
- 23:38actual data that the CMO can understand
- 23:43and directly attack to. Right
- 23:45>> now the flip side of that which I'll say
- 23:47is we need fewer walled gardens for that
- 23:49to actually happen. So I think that like
- 23:51the vision and what I heard today is
- 23:54like that sounds freaking beautiful and
- 23:56great and very smart. Um, I'll be very
- 23:59curious. I'll be very I'm I'm excited to
- 24:02see
- 24:03>> how the retail media go walled Gardens
- 24:06um ultimately figure out how to play
- 24:08nice together. Um, and and I I think
- 24:10that that's a big
- 24:11>> that's a big dream, dude. That's a big
- 24:14big dream.
- 24:15>> I It's a great note to end on because as
- 24:17you guys know and our and our listeners
- 24:19know, this is the challenge. This is the
- 24:21vision. This is the opportunity that
- 24:23we're building and why we're here is to
- 24:26connect everyone across this ecosystem
- 24:28in a way that benefits the brands, the
- 24:31retailers, the consumers and um and
- 24:34drives just positive experiences moving
- 24:37forward. So, we'll be back here next
- 24:39year, but it's not going to be a full
- 24:41year before we see each other and
- 24:43connect. And there's another and then
- 24:45another and then another event where we
- 24:47will um check in with one another, but
- 24:49continue to drive progress. But before I
- 24:52let you go, I wanted to just thank you
- 24:53and and tell Scott, you've got all the
- 24:55bracelets from all the events, all the
- 24:56venues and parties. What's the what's
- 24:58the coolest place that you've been in or
- 25:00the coolest person that you've met? Cuz
- 25:01I only have a few. You're everything.
- 25:04I'm not out.
- 25:06These things they they they strap them
- 25:08on to you and then they you got to I
- 25:10need I need a knife to get them cut off.
- 25:11>> That's right. You go home, you're
- 25:12weighted down the uh plane with it.
- 25:14>> Yeah. Yeah. I'm not that cool of a guy,
- 25:16man. Well,
- 25:17>> you know, so
- 25:18>> I I appreciate the How about you? How
- 25:21about you, man? Matt [ __ ] worst. How
- 25:22about it?
- 25:23>> It's uh Look, this these are about
- 25:25genuine connections. So, I appreciate
- 25:27you guys being here
- 25:29>> listening to me, answering the questions
- 25:31we have, sharing with us,
- 25:34>> and um hope you guys have a great rest
- 25:36of the show.
- 25:36>> Likewise. Can we give your wife a shout
- 25:38out? Also, it's her birthday.
- 25:40>> We sure can.
- 25:41>> Wow.
- 25:42>> Thank you for saving the day and maybe
- 25:44my marriage.
- 25:46>> Happy birthday.
- 25:47>> Happy birthday, Lee. I love you. Sorry
- 25:49you're not here and sorry I'm not home,
- 25:50but um in your absence, I'm spending
- 25:53time with other quality people who are
- 25:56making the world a better place just
- 25:57like you're doing. So, thanks guys.
- 26:00>> Thanks.
- 26:01>> Love it.
