- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time. I
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things, and it shoves not me through good
- 0:24Speaker 1: to mother for I don't join me. You gotta turn you,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you gotta turn to turn them out. Turn you haven't
- 1:43Speaker 1: got to turn them out. Then turn the water the
- 1:47Speaker 1: water go. Come come on your baby now, huh, I
- 2:02Speaker 1: sure will. A good morning everybody, y'all listening to the voice,
- 2:08Speaker 1: come on dig me now. One and only Steve Harvey
- 2:11Speaker 1: got a radio show man. God is in a blessing business.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I'm in the receiving line, man. That's a good feeling.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I thank God for waking me up in the mornings,
- 2:24Speaker 1: I really really do. I thank God for the spirit
- 2:28Speaker 1: that he wakes me up with because I finally, but
- 2:31Speaker 1: I finally figured it out. Such a blessing that shouldn't
- 2:35Speaker 1: be taken for granted. The fact that you are up
- 2:38Speaker 1: to day, the fact that you just got off working,
- 2:40Speaker 1: you driving home, the fact that you got a job
- 2:43Speaker 1: to come home from, the fact that you got a
- 2:45Speaker 1: job to wake up too. Whatever it is the fact
- 2:49Speaker 1: that you can see, think, here, smell, walk, talk, rhyme, reason, whatever,
- 2:55Speaker 1: it is. It's a blessing. Man. I was talking to
- 2:58Speaker 1: a partner mine last night and an analogy came to
- 3:02Speaker 1: me last night of what my life has been like,
- 3:05Speaker 1: just going over my story with a friend of mine,
- 3:08Speaker 1: of all some of the things I had gone through,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and he never knew it because he said, man, you
- 3:13Speaker 1: never told me that we were just talking. One of
- 3:16Speaker 1: the things I remember, and it's kind of equated to
- 3:19Speaker 1: my life, was when I was a little boy and
- 3:25Speaker 1: should go to the the store with my mom and she
- 3:29Speaker 1: would let me buy a jigsaw puzzle. Now, for those
- 3:33Speaker 1: of you, a jigsaw puzzle comes in a box that
- 3:36Speaker 1: are no instructions. It just comes in a box and
- 3:41Speaker 1: it's simple. You're gonna dump the pieces out in a
- 3:44Speaker 1: pile and you're gonna try to put the pieces together
- 3:49Speaker 1: until it looks like the picture that's on the cover
- 3:53Speaker 1: of the box. That's as simple as it is. Here
- 3:59Speaker 1: is the deal. I would select a jigsaw puzzle based
- 4:06Speaker 1: on the picture that I liked and if I thought
- 4:13Speaker 1: I could do it. Now, if the picture looked too crazy,
- 4:17Speaker 1: if it looked too intricate, I didn't want that puzzle,
- 4:22Speaker 1: you know. And the thing was back in the day
- 4:24Speaker 1: you got a jigsaw puzzle. You had a hundred piece puzzles.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Four hundred piece puzzles, man, then they say a thousand
- 4:30Speaker 1: piece puzzle. You go, oh. So those were a little
- 4:35Speaker 1: difficult for me when I was a little boy, so
- 4:38Speaker 1: I didn't want that. As I got a little bit older,
- 4:42Speaker 1: I had more challenging puzzles, you know, four fifty five
- 4:46Speaker 1: hundred piece puzzles. But I always picked a picture of
- 4:52Speaker 1: something I liked. So it's very simple. You get the
- 4:56Speaker 1: jigsaw puzzle, you get it home, you open it up,
- 4:58Speaker 1: you dump it out on the table. You flipped all
- 5:01Speaker 1: the pieces over so you can see them, and then
- 5:06Speaker 1: I would try to saw them based on the colors
- 5:08Speaker 1: on the box. If it was like a black section,
- 5:12Speaker 1: I'd take all the black pieces and slide them over there.
- 5:14Speaker 1: If it was some flowers, I'd try to find all
- 5:17Speaker 1: the pictures with little jig saw pieces with the little
- 5:20Speaker 1: floor and I separate them. And then I started putting
- 5:23Speaker 1: it together. And the way I started was I try
- 5:25Speaker 1: to build the border first, because I knew all the
- 5:28Speaker 1: straight edges had to be side by side at one point.
- 5:32Speaker 1: And it was funny, man, because it's related to my life.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I would start putting the pieces together of the picture
- 5:40Speaker 1: I saw that I liked, and that would be my picture.
- 5:46Speaker 1: A lot of people didn't like Jig saw puzzles. As
- 5:50Speaker 1: a matter of fact, none of the boys on the
- 5:52Speaker 1: street like Jig Saw puzzles but me, because they just
- 5:55Speaker 1: didn't want to go through the intricate details of figuring
- 5:59Speaker 1: that out. Really go outside and run or something like that.
- 6:02Speaker 1: And so what happened was, as I got older, I
- 6:07Speaker 1: wanted more difficult than challenging puzzles, but I wouldn't go
- 6:11Speaker 1: too far. I wanted some nice stuff to happen. I
- 6:14Speaker 1: had a picture of what I wanted for my life,
- 6:17Speaker 1: but I didn't want to go too far because it
- 6:20Speaker 1: was so challenging and difficult. I couldn't see myself at
- 6:24Speaker 1: all of that, and I didn't have the time, the knowledge,
- 6:27Speaker 1: the expertise to figuring all the intricate details. And I
- 6:32Speaker 1: discovered something when I was talking last night. That's what
- 6:37Speaker 1: happens in life to a lot of people. You get
- 6:40Speaker 1: bogged down with the details of coming up and trying
- 6:43Speaker 1: to create the picture that you want for yourself. You
- 6:46Speaker 1: put it to the side. You said, ah, that puzs
- 6:48Speaker 1: are crazy. Next thing, you know, you crumble it up
- 6:51Speaker 1: and put it back in the box. So you go
- 6:53Speaker 1: halfway and you get stuck, and you get to the
- 6:55Speaker 1: part where it ain't a lot of different colors. It's
- 6:57Speaker 1: all the same. And that's a little bit more challenge.
- 7:00Speaker 1: So that may stop you. But it's somewhere in the
- 7:02Speaker 1: jigsaw puzzle that it gets very difficult and challenging. The
- 7:07Speaker 1: bigger the picture you want, but then what a happened
- 7:11Speaker 1: in your life, It's just like what ha happened in
- 7:14Speaker 1: the jigsaw. Once you get comfortable and you don't mind
- 7:18Speaker 1: a challenge, you could get a bigger picture. But here's
- 7:24Speaker 1: the key to it, though, if you put God in
- 7:27Speaker 1: your mix, see the picture that I saw for myself
- 7:31Speaker 1: as a boy is not the picture that has happened
- 7:35Speaker 1: to me as a man. Because along the way from
- 7:38Speaker 1: boyhood to manhood, from the time I was ten, you
- 7:42Speaker 1: understand what happened along the riding now was I started
- 7:47Speaker 1: putting God in the mix. And so now the picture
- 7:51Speaker 1: that I have now is not the picture I saw,
- 7:54Speaker 1: It's the picture that God saw. So what I'm saying
- 7:58Speaker 1: this analogy is the picture you have may be difficult
- 8:03Speaker 1: to complete, but if you were to include God in
- 8:07Speaker 1: your life, put God in your jigsaw puzzle. God will
- 8:12Speaker 1: not only help you complete the puzzle, and he gonna
- 8:15Speaker 1: add some pieces, he gonna do some favors, he gonna
- 8:19Speaker 1: show some mercy, and you're gonna look up and the
- 8:21Speaker 1: picture that you're able to end up with or be
- 8:24Speaker 1: totally different and much more complete, much more beautiful or
- 8:28Speaker 1: bigger picture than the one you had. Because there's no
- 8:32Speaker 1: way that I could have saw the life that I
- 8:34Speaker 1: have today back when I was a boy. And it
- 8:38Speaker 1: amazes me when I hear people say I always saw
- 8:40Speaker 1: this for myself. I didn't do that. I didn't quite
- 8:43Speaker 1: see this for myself. I don't know how you can
- 8:46Speaker 1: have the ability to see what God really has for you.
- 8:49Speaker 1: But man, he's a masterful jigsaw man. He's an incredible
- 8:54Speaker 1: puzzle complet So if you got a puzzle that's challenging
- 8:57Speaker 1: to you, maybe you need to see what's the picture
- 9:00Speaker 1: that God has for your life. If God were in
- 9:04Speaker 1: your life, if you completed the puzzle, what would it
- 9:08Speaker 1: look like. It'll be a far more extensive puzzle and
- 9:13Speaker 1: it would be a far more beautiful piece of scenery
- 9:16Speaker 1: than you could have ever imagined tears come in my
- 9:19Speaker 1: eyes because I can't believe God bought me this far.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I can't believe that when I opened up and accepted
- 9:26Speaker 1: him and started talking to him, that he would add
- 9:28Speaker 1: all these pieceles to my jigsaw puzzle, and my jigsaw
- 9:32Speaker 1: puzzle would look like this. And I could tell you
- 9:35Speaker 1: I ain't got a whole lot to do with with
- 9:38Speaker 1: with what I had and turned into, it's mostly favored
- 9:41Speaker 1: and blessings and grace and mercy of God. And I
- 9:44Speaker 1: looked up and I just got a much bigger jigsaw
- 9:46Speaker 1: puzzle completed. And guess what, He ain't through with me yet.
- 9:50Speaker 1: That's what's amazing and exciting about a relationship with God.
- 9:55Speaker 1: God could take your jigsaw puzzle and fix it. Good
- 10:00Speaker 1: morning show, ladies in general, we are here welcome to
- 10:05Speaker 1: the ride. On yesterday it was announced that Roscoe Wallace

- 15:39Speaker 1: me off? One of the one of the family members
- 15:43Speaker 1: I'm assuming is who who made the adjustment? And an
- 15:47Speaker 1: adjustice that ain't no adjustment, that's that's changing the whole program?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Who else is on the list? I mean there's quite
- 15:54Speaker 1: a few family members doing different things, uh throughout the funeral? Okay,
- 16:00Speaker 1: So how did you get to my name? Is what
- 16:02Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out that they said, let listen
- 16:05Speaker 1: to me, listen, listen to me Listen to me, brother,
- 16:08Speaker 1: keep listen to me. What they said it is that
- 16:10Speaker 1: you weren't going to abide by the time, you weren't
- 16:15Speaker 1: going to do your remarks in three minutes or less. Listen, Listen, listen, listen.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Monty raised me. He put me through college. And you

- 17:16Speaker 1: the one that's been locked up. He just got out
- 17:19Speaker 1: of till the truth be told. He the one Dawn
- 17:21Speaker 1: and then put her in the co You needn't take
- 17:23Speaker 1: him off the list too. Give me all that time,
- 17:25Speaker 1: because I mean, if I gonna take nothing that Keith,
- 17:29Speaker 1: let me let me. Let me just say this to you.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I cannot take Sheila or Bobby Junior off. I can't
- 17:36Speaker 1: make any alterations to this program unless they say that, Actually, sir,
- 17:43Speaker 1: you already you already taking you already taking people name off.
- 17:47Speaker 1: You're taking my name off. But but they they orchestrated
- 17:51Speaker 1: this though, who is they? Who is they? Theys for
- 17:55Speaker 1: having my problem? They try to take me off my
- 17:58Speaker 1: hockey program? Who is state? Sir? I'm not gonna get
- 18:03Speaker 1: into a family matter. But until they say that, you
- 18:05Speaker 1: can't matter. Sure, I'm not gonna. I don't want to.
- 18:10Speaker 1: I don't want to have this turn out to be bad,
- 18:13Speaker 1: and we want to have a great homegoing for sister
- 18:15Speaker 1: Deloyd's okay, damn right. And if I don't get to
- 18:19Speaker 1: say nothing, I guaranteese, I guarantee you it's gonna be
- 18:22Speaker 1: a truthful one in there. Somebody else is gonna get
- 18:25Speaker 1: things and a call for tooth. I guarantees that if
- 18:28Speaker 1: I don't get to say nothing that my monkey funeral,
- 18:30Speaker 1: monkey didn't pay for the college, I didn't put six
- 18:34Speaker 1: thousand in the funeral. I bet you I tell you this.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I'll tell you this, mister lord. I bet you whether
- 18:40Speaker 1: I don't want the program, I'm not. I bet you
- 18:43Speaker 1: I say it with the I want to. I'll bet
- 18:45Speaker 1: you that much. You tell Bay that I didn't. I
- 18:50Speaker 1: didn't put me through college. I can put money on
- 18:53Speaker 1: the funeral. I called around a few who ain't putting
- 18:56Speaker 1: no money on the funeral. Fell in, they can't be
- 18:58Speaker 1: on the program, man, Keep they when they decide who
- 19:05Speaker 1: who Who's owning? If they changed the format, then I
- 19:09Speaker 1: will call you back. Who who the is thegue? That's
- 19:14Speaker 1: what I'm trying to get. Get you understand who is back?
- 19:17Speaker 1: Can I can? I tell you something and I don't
- 19:19Speaker 1: want you to get to I raped okay, go ahead,
- 19:22Speaker 1: go ahead, go ahead, man, I just want to say this.

- 19:45Speaker 1: I'm kicking Bobby. I know that my pressure is all up.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I ain't got time to be playing man taking me

- 20:10Speaker 1: Oh hey, let me ask you this man, what is
- 20:14Speaker 1: the baddest and I mean the baddest radio show in
- 20:17Speaker 1: the land? Steve Harvey morning shout? Have y'all ever done that?
- 20:23Speaker 1: Have you ever given the three minute remarks at a funeral?
- 20:29Speaker 1: That's a long three minutes to talk. People don't know,
- 20:32Speaker 1: because we talked for a living three minutes, right, that's
- 20:35Speaker 1: a very long time. It's just you talking. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:40Speaker 1: what you say at three minutes? If you ain't got
- 20:43Speaker 1: no jokes, it's a few yeah, if you're not a professional, yeah,
- 20:49Speaker 1: all right, all right, nephew, thank you. Coming up next,
- 20:53Speaker 1: it is asked the Cello Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey.
- 20:56Speaker 1: In the building, you're listening every morning show, all right?
- 21:01Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, Miss Anna's
- 21:03Speaker 1: standing by with our national news and an entertainment news
- 21:07Speaker 1: still trending, Snoop Dogg and the Golden Globe nominations. When
- 21:12Speaker 1: he said, ben Afleck blow it up, but he had
- 21:18Speaker 1: a good, cute little funny comeback every time he did it.
- 21:21Speaker 1: And we'll talk about that at the top of the hour.
- 21:23Speaker 1: But right now it is time for Steve's favorite segment.
- 21:26Speaker 1: It's called Ask the CLO Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey,
- 21:31Speaker 1: Ready for your love questions? Yeah, this one is from
- 21:35Speaker 1: Anonymous in Delaware. Anonymous says, I'm a thirty eight year
- 21:40Speaker 1: old married man, and I have a question about men
- 21:43Speaker 1: looking at beautiful sexy women's pictures all day on Instagram.
- 21:48Speaker 1: You did a Strawberry letter about this, and I don't
- 21:50Speaker 1: see it as a form of cheating. I don't mind
- 21:53Speaker 1: if my wife looks that oiled up sexy men all day.
- 21:56Speaker 1: If she's looking at those men, it motivates me to
- 21:58Speaker 1: keep myself up, and vice versa. Why is this bad cloth? Well,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I mean, dog, I mean, you could do like you
- 22:07Speaker 1: want to do, you know, but I just I mean,
- 22:13Speaker 1: you can't tell me you ain't having thoughts? Why are
- 22:16Speaker 1: you looking at these pictures? And if you're having thoughts,
- 22:19Speaker 1: you're building up a reservoir these thoughts in your head,
- 22:22Speaker 1: and that's leading to temptation and then after while the
- 22:26Speaker 1: opportunity to act on it could become greater. Hey man,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I'll tell you what do like you want to do,
- 22:33Speaker 1: go ahead, but that that an't trying to fake me
- 22:36Speaker 1: and fool me with it. If my woman is looking
- 22:38Speaker 1: at all up me and body, that makes me moding.
- 22:41Speaker 1: That's not true. You can stop that. If she looking
- 22:45Speaker 1: at all up men's body all day, you know your
- 22:47Speaker 1: ass don't look like that. Don't shoot. I know, I
- 22:50Speaker 1: ain't even got no. Oh, I don't even so you
- 22:53Speaker 1: can say that pardon and trying to trick me with it.
- 22:57Speaker 1: She looking at I don't mind because you do mind.
- 23:00Speaker 1: That's not true. That's not true. Ain't no man comfortable
- 23:05Speaker 1: with a woman look at a whole bunch of all
- 23:07Speaker 1: of me? And is it not? Gim stop none of
- 23:10Speaker 1: his faith? And you man because you rode in. Yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 1: all right. Moving on to Sherry and Brooklyn, Sherry writes,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I'm going through a divorce right now, and my ex
- 23:20Speaker 1: has moved on to an old friend that I introduced
- 23:23Speaker 1: him to. I don't care about what he's doing, but
- 23:26Speaker 1: I do hold her accountable for her actions. Oh wait,
- 23:29Speaker 1: she introduced who Shirley? I mean, she introduced her act.
- 23:32Speaker 1: She's going through a divorce right now and her exes
- 23:35Speaker 1: moved on to a friend that she his ex wife's
- 23:39Speaker 1: introduced him to. She says she doesn't care what he's doing,
- 23:43Speaker 1: but she holds her friend accountable for her actions. She's
- 23:47Speaker 1: sleeping with him and I'm still married to him. Why
- 23:50Speaker 1: do women think it's okay to get your sloppy seconds?
- 23:52Speaker 1: They're all men like this? Or is a certain type
- 23:55Speaker 1: of lowdown man that would do this? Wait a minute,
- 23:59Speaker 1: what man are you talking about? This is a woman
- 24:03Speaker 1: d's sleeping with her girlfriend that shed to her husband
- 24:10Speaker 1: her You introduced this woman to your husband. Now y'all
- 24:16Speaker 1: getting a divorce. Your husband is sleeping with her. H he.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Now you're mad about her because she's doing sloppy seconds? Yeah?
- 24:28Speaker 1: But for he? Well, I mean you could be mad
- 24:32Speaker 1: at her if you want to. I understand that. But
- 24:36Speaker 1: what double back and got the girlfriend and she wants
- 24:39Speaker 1: the girlfriend to stop sleeping with her ex husband. Well,
- 24:42Speaker 1: first of all, this ain't your husband, no mo, and
- 24:47Speaker 1: she not your friend, no mo. So where we at?
- 24:53Speaker 1: Let it go? If she stopped, you ain't gonna steal,
- 24:56Speaker 1: ain't gonna like her because every time you see her,
- 25:00Speaker 1: you're gonna see her sleeping with your husband. So what
- 25:03Speaker 1: what what do you want with either one of them?
- 25:06Speaker 1: You want them to stop, but you're not gonna You're
- 25:08Speaker 1: not gonna deal with either one of them. Girls stop.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Here's the question. Are all men like this or is
- 25:14Speaker 1: it a certain type of lowdown man that would do this?
- 25:18Speaker 1: The man ain't being lowdown. Excuse me. You introduced her
- 25:24Speaker 1: to him. She your girlfriend? Heyo asks for a reason.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Now he dating your girlfriend that you introduced him for.
- 25:33Speaker 1: The trifling one in this bunch is your girlfriend and
- 25:39Speaker 1: what you're already divorcing him for a reason. Probably got something, dude,
- 25:43Speaker 1: something like that. Anyway, now he doing what he'd been doing,
- 25:48Speaker 1: what you mad at him for. Now, all men ain't
- 25:50Speaker 1: like that? But yeah, this is moving on. Pauline in Southfield, Michigan.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Pauline says, yesterday was myself Stee's birthday, and I didn't
- 26:01Speaker 1: get a call from my boyfriend until around six pm.
- 26:05Speaker 1: He lives over an hour away from me and does
- 26:07Speaker 1: not drive anymore because he's legally blind. I told him
- 26:10Speaker 1: I expected to hear from him or get flowers or
- 26:13Speaker 1: something from him, and he told me that I can't
- 26:15Speaker 1: tell him how to love me. We've been dating for
- 26:18Speaker 1: two years and he doesn't make me feel special anymore.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Is this a sign that he's no longer interested? Well,
- 26:24Speaker 1: you know, he probably didn't see it on the calendar.
- 26:30Speaker 1: He did something. You know. It ain't like he could
- 26:33Speaker 1: look at his phone and then know you did say
- 26:37Speaker 1: he would legally blind. That whole day could have got
- 26:42Speaker 1: back without him realizing it was your damn birthday. He
- 26:46Speaker 1: legally blind. He'd have fell over four chairs going to
- 26:49Speaker 1: the bathroom, he said, worried about why you ain't heard it.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Might have been knocked out running up into that day
- 26:55Speaker 1: and refrigerated yesterday. His ass might have been unconscious on
- 26:59Speaker 1: the But you being all here considered Tom, he ain't
- 27:02Speaker 1: called you to sixty till till six p year. He's sixty.
- 27:05Speaker 1: He can't see and you because he didn't call that.
- 27:08Speaker 1: You don't tell me how to love you. Everybody don't
- 27:13Speaker 1: know what dead is. I got an iPhone without the eye.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Close your eyes and pick up your iPhone and tell
- 27:34Speaker 1: me how good it is. Pick up your phone, now,
- 27:39Speaker 1: tell me how good your phone is? All right? Danita
- 27:43Speaker 1: and Roano says, I've been dating a guy that has
- 27:47Speaker 1: overweighted and he said we're going to work out together
- 27:50Speaker 1: for the past two years. I cook healthy food and
- 27:54Speaker 1: we've tried intimate fasting. But I think he eats bad
- 27:58Speaker 1: when he's away from me, and it's actually when he's
- 28:00Speaker 1: stressed at work. If I lose any more weight and
- 28:03Speaker 1: get any sexier, I can't promise that I will still
- 28:06Speaker 1: look at him the same way. How can I motivate
- 28:10Speaker 1: him to stick to a diet and shed some pounds
- 28:13Speaker 1: from me? Leave? Leaving is all you've got because listen
- 28:24Speaker 1: to me, there's no consequences. If he doesn't lose weight,
- 28:28Speaker 1: there's no consequences. Did he stick to the meal plan,
- 28:32Speaker 1: there's no consequences. If he cheats on intimittent fasting, there's
- 28:36Speaker 1: no consequences. So now he looking at you getting fine,
- 28:40Speaker 1: but he gets to stay right where he had and
- 28:42Speaker 1: get worse with no consequences. I have told you, ladies,
- 28:46Speaker 1: men respond to three things. Pain, consequence, reward. Once you
- 28:54Speaker 1: put any of those three things in front of a man,
- 28:56Speaker 1: you get a response. Pain, we respond, consequence, we respond, reward,
- 29:03Speaker 1: we respond. Other than that, If you're not gonna do
- 29:05Speaker 1: none of those three things, we're talking to your man, Okay,
- 29:08Speaker 1: all right, I thank You're going Anita, thank you Clo
- 29:11Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, Entertainment and
- 29:14Speaker 1: National news. Right after this, you're listening to morning show
- 29:21Speaker 1: still trending. The seventy ninth annual Golden Globe Awards were
- 29:25Speaker 1: announced in Los Angeles by none other than Snoop Dog.
- 29:28Speaker 1: The other day, Snoop was rocking a red cap and
- 29:31Speaker 1: a pair of shades indoors. He read off the names
- 29:34Speaker 1: with a couple of mispronunciations. Take a listen, being a fleck,
- 29:39Speaker 1: being an affleck my fault? Sorry about that? Being a
- 29:48Speaker 1: fleck of fleck, SNOOPID, you know a couple more blunders.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Who cares? It's Portugal so you can relate to Snoop.
- 30:03Speaker 1: The Golden Globes have been criticized because of their diversity
- 30:07Speaker 1: or lack thereof, and ethics concerns. NBC will not air
- 30:11Speaker 1: the twenty twenty two Golden Globe, but there is a
- 30:14Speaker 1: date of January ninth set but no word on the
- 30:17Speaker 1: details of the ceremony. So what do you what do
- 30:20Speaker 1: you mean they won't er it? Do you remember it
- 30:23Speaker 1: was a lot of drama with the Golden Globes last year,
- 30:25Speaker 1: and so NBC said that they weren't going to air
- 30:29Speaker 1: it next year. But man, whatever, you know what, Man,
- 30:34Speaker 1: it's try I'll tell you something. It's to me, it
- 30:36Speaker 1: seems like America's eating itself. That's what it seems like
- 30:41Speaker 1: to me. We're eating ourself alive into nothing. This political
- 30:46Speaker 1: correctness is killing us. This if you don't include everybody,
- 30:50Speaker 1: that's killing us. Then if you don't agree with everybody,
- 30:54Speaker 1: it's killing us. You know, the politics in this country
- 30:58Speaker 1: has nothing to do with people any more. It only
- 31:00Speaker 1: has to do with party position, power and money, has
- 31:05Speaker 1: nothing to do with what's best for the people. I'm
- 31:08Speaker 1: sick of all of it. Man, America is eating itself now.
- 31:13Speaker 1: You can't have the Golden Globe Awards because it's not
- 31:16Speaker 1: all inclusive, all inclusive of who y'all ain't been stopping
- 31:20Speaker 1: stuff because we're no black people in it. You've been
- 31:23Speaker 1: having everything without us in it. Now, all of a sudden,
- 31:27Speaker 1: everybody else want to get included. All of sud We've
- 31:30Speaker 1: been feeling this way forever. Welcome to the club. Get
- 31:35Speaker 1: your own damn network. We had to go get b et. Y'all,
- 31:41Speaker 1: go get whatever network you want to do and get
- 31:43Speaker 1: your group set up on it so y'all can see
- 31:46Speaker 1: how it feels. That's what I suggest you do. If
- 31:50Speaker 1: you want to have the Red Ribbon group, then everybody
- 31:53Speaker 1: just little red ribbons. Go get the Red Ribbon network.
- 31:57Speaker 1: You want to get blond hair, blue eyes only network
- 32:00Speaker 1: and everybody only got blind hair blue. I go get
- 32:02Speaker 1: your own damn network and put everybody on it you want.
- 32:07Speaker 1: That's my suggestion and solution for the whole thing we
- 32:12Speaker 1: had to get b et. You go get your own
- 32:15Speaker 1: damn network that blag can be on every day talk
- 32:20Speaker 1: about everything you want to talk about. Yeah, yeah, well
- 32:25Speaker 1: I think that's what happened. Golden Globes came under fire
- 32:27Speaker 1: for not including us US as African Americans. We ain't
- 32:32Speaker 1: ever been including oscars went by for years, by for years. Yes,
- 32:37Speaker 1: you're right, see absolute Grammas went by fore. MTV didn't
- 32:44Speaker 1: even let us on that until Michael Jackson got on that. Man. Stop.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Just ain't nothing new. This inclusion is nothing new. This
- 32:54Speaker 1: is America. America been excluding all of us the entire time,
- 32:58Speaker 1: has been here from day one. Ye care, right, fans,
- 33:06Speaker 1: we know what it feels like for sure. All right, Steve,
- 33:10Speaker 1: Let's move on now. Time for today's headlines, Ladies and gentlemen,
- 33:14Speaker 1: miss Anne trip, thank you, thank you. This is a
- 33:17Speaker 1: trip with the news. Let's go. President Biden flew to
- 33:20Speaker 1: Kentucky yesterday to see for himself the damage done by
- 33:23Speaker 1: last weekend's multi state killer tornadoes. The Commander in chief
- 33:26Speaker 1: saw what was left of towns of like Dawson Springs
- 33:29Speaker 1: in Mayfield, where at least seventy four people have died.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Keep the faith. We're gonna get this done. I promise you.
- 33:35Speaker 1: The Governor's not walking away. Your kind of judge is
- 33:38Speaker 1: not walking away, Your Congress is not walking away. No
- 33:41Speaker 1: one's walking away. We're in this for the long haul.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Mister Biden says he's promising that the federal government will
- 33:46Speaker 1: cover one hundred percent of the cost of the first
- 33:49Speaker 1: thirty days of emergency work, and that FEMA does not
- 33:52Speaker 1: yet need any additional funding to do that. More than
- 33:54Speaker 1: thirty twisters thirty landed at various spots in the South
- 33:57Speaker 1: and the Midwest, and an additional fortune people died in
- 34:00Speaker 1: four other states. Yesterday, the National Archives released nearly fifteen
- 34:04Speaker 1: hundred documents concerned the assassination of President John F. Kennedy
- 34:08Speaker 1: in nineteen sixty three. However, the documents they say not
- 34:10Speaker 1: expected to contain any new information as to whether Lee
- 34:14Speaker 1: Harvey Oswald was the lone killer Far Minneapolis killer cop
- 34:18Speaker 1: Derek Chauvin has played guilty to federal charges of violating
- 34:21Speaker 1: George Floyd's civil rights. Chauvin's plea means he will not
- 34:25Speaker 1: have to go on trial next month with three other
- 34:27Speaker 1: now fired Minneapolis cops who watched him grind his knee
- 34:30Speaker 1: into mister Floyd's neck for over nine minutes and did
- 34:33Speaker 1: absolutely nothing to stop it. Derek Chauvin will still most
- 34:36Speaker 1: likely be given an even lengthy or jail term. A
- 34:39Speaker 1: judge in Iowa has sentenced a white man named Steve
- 34:43Speaker 1: Vogel to spend the rest of his life in jail
- 34:45Speaker 1: without the possibility of parole for horrific murder of an
- 34:49Speaker 1: innocent black man named Michael Williams, whom authorities say he
- 34:53Speaker 1: hanged and then displayed before he burned mister Williams's body
- 34:58Speaker 1: in a ditch. Was angry because his wife. He saw
- 35:01Speaker 1: his girlfriend just talking to mister Williams, so that's what
- 35:04Speaker 1: he did to Michael Williams. Perhaps the only positive thing
- 35:07Speaker 1: about this case is that the jury took less than
- 35:10Speaker 1: four hours to convict this guy on first degree murder
- 35:13Speaker 1: and abuse of a corpse. Horrible. San Francisco Mayor London
- 35:18Speaker 1: Breed is asking her city's new budget to contain more
- 35:21Speaker 1: than rather less funding for the police due to what's
- 35:23Speaker 1: perceived as a new crime wave in her city. And finally,
- 35:26Speaker 1: sad news, influential black feminist writer Bell Hooks has died.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Her book Ain't I A Woman is considered one of
- 35:33Speaker 1: the most important studies on the historic and continual marginalization
- 35:37Speaker 1: of Black women. Just ask Megan Markle. Belle. Hooks was
- 35:40Speaker 1: sixty nine and also singer Joe Simon has died at
- 35:47Speaker 1: age eighty five. And one of the members of Tavares,
- 35:52Speaker 1: Ralph Tavares, has died. He was seventy nine years old. Yes,
- 35:55Speaker 1: heaven is Missian Angel. Now back to the Steve Harvey
- 35:58Speaker 1: Morning Show. You're listening she Stry Morning Show. Here's a
- 36:03Speaker 1: quick question for you, guys. Um, do you have a
- 36:06Speaker 1: memory or a vivid recollection of the first time you
- 36:09Speaker 1: met Santa Claus? First time I met Santa Ci No, no,
- 36:21Speaker 1: they I've seen the picture, but I don't remember the man.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I Hi met the mall, but he never came to
- 36:30Speaker 1: my house. I never saw him. My mom would always
- 36:35Speaker 1: tell me he had been there though the five and
- 36:39Speaker 1: they sat out and talked for a minute. Oh really, always, Steve,
- 36:45Speaker 1: You remember meeting Santa Claus when I first met him, Yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: but I already knew who he was. What happened I
- 36:52Speaker 1: had been told by my brothers and stuff didnt go
- 36:55Speaker 1: out here's quite man if so when I met him,
- 37:01Speaker 1: it didn't have a joy that you think you would
- 37:03Speaker 1: have as a child. But still I liked Santa Claus.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I always liked him. I thought his intentions were well. Plus,
- 37:11Speaker 1: I'm a big Christmas guy. So and why is that?
- 37:16Speaker 1: I just I just think it's the dopest holiday of
- 37:18Speaker 1: all time. I loved Christmas from day one. The gifts,
- 37:22Speaker 1: the giving. You know, see my father and mother face man,
- 37:25Speaker 1: when they opened up this little worthless ass gift out
- 37:27Speaker 1: of bottom. You know, I knew the gift wasn't worth it, damn.
- 37:32Speaker 1: But the way they faked it and act like they
- 37:34Speaker 1: kid it meant a lot to me, you know. And
- 37:36Speaker 1: so I became a big giver of Christmas gifts. I've
- 37:39Speaker 1: always kind of liked that, you know, nice gifts and stuff.
- 37:43Speaker 1: But then as I grew older, realized what Christmas was
- 37:46Speaker 1: really about. So it wasn't about the gift giving no more,
- 37:49Speaker 1: and so it just became all I just want to treat.
- 37:52Speaker 1: That's all I want. It's a treat, you know, I know,
- 37:55Speaker 1: I know the real meaning of Christmas? Right for getting
- 38:01Speaker 1: home so I could see my tree. Haven't seen no,
- 38:05Speaker 1: haven't seen him came from? Again, I'm not sure where
- 38:09Speaker 1: this one came in from. I haven't. I have a
- 38:11Speaker 1: disgusted chat with my wife, but this coming in from
- 38:14Speaker 1: something you didn't get it at wall? Are you mad?
- 38:21Speaker 1: From the tree? And where your treat came from? Tom nameless?
- 38:33Speaker 1: You don't name? Excuse what? Excuse me? The market name
- 38:39Speaker 1: market as in predecorated, Yeah, precorated, Julian Yeah yeah, wow.
- 38:53Speaker 1: All right, all right, well, uh Mary, Christmas, everybody coming up.
- 38:57Speaker 1: In thirty four minutes after the hour, we're to check
- 39:00Speaker 1: Steve's voicemail. Right after this you're listening to show. All right, Steven,
- 39:07Speaker 1: it's time to check your voicemail. If you want to
- 39:10Speaker 1: leave Steve a message or just give a holiday greeting
- 39:12Speaker 1: to your loved one, call us right now at eight
- 39:15Speaker 1: seven seven twenty nine, Steve and leave a message. Okay, Steve,
- 39:18Speaker 1: this one is a call from a fan of comedy,
- 39:21Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. This is Danny. Look, I don't I hope
- 39:23Speaker 1: I don't come off as racist, and I do apologize
- 39:25Speaker 1: if I do. But I don't know if you thought
- 39:27Speaker 1: about this. I'm sure you probably get this all the time.
- 39:29Speaker 1: If you would consider playing Richard Pryor in a movie
- 39:33Speaker 1: about Richard Pryor, that would be amazing because you look
- 39:37Speaker 1: like Richard Pryor. Well, Danny, I look like you've been
- 39:41Speaker 1: my younger days. I think I did, especially when I
- 39:45Speaker 1: had Hair's a lot of side by side comparisons dons
- 39:48Speaker 1: in terms of look. Yeah, but like right now, I'd
- 39:51Speaker 1: have to play Richard as an older man, you know,
- 39:55Speaker 1: I could play Richard Pryde oh in the after or
- 40:01Speaker 1: something like that. You know, I have to play, like,
- 40:06Speaker 1: play like Richard Prye after he's passed and going to
- 40:08Speaker 1: heaven and he's sitting around heaven. That's Richard Prye. But
- 40:13Speaker 1: you know I've heard the comparison to my whole career. Yeah,
- 40:16Speaker 1: I don't think that's Danni Bill at this point. Richard
- 40:19Speaker 1: played himself, Yeah, in his own movie, Yeah, and it
- 40:24Speaker 1: did it, didn't. I didn't take it as racist. Yeah,
- 40:29Speaker 1: Joejoe Danson was a movie he did, yeo yeah yeah,
- 40:35Speaker 1: all right, thank you, Danny. Here's a voicemail from a man, Steve,
- 40:39Speaker 1: who needs your help to talk to his wife about
- 40:42Speaker 1: her appearance. Good morning, Steve Harvey in the morning crew.
- 40:46Speaker 1: This is my courageous I'm forty nine year old father
- 40:50Speaker 1: of a ten year old. We both praised this together.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Loof y'all to check out our praises own YouTube brother
- 40:57Speaker 1: x praising Uh Steve, I have a beautiful wife. Were
- 41:00Speaker 1: about to reach y'all a one year anniversary. She is beautiful.
- 41:05Speaker 1: But every time we get ready to go, as she
- 41:08Speaker 1: put this makeup on her face, and I told already
- 41:10Speaker 1: I hate makeup. She's naturally beautiful. I told she's natural beautiful.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Every time she put that makeup on, man, it kicks
- 41:18Speaker 1: me off. What else can I say to my wife
- 41:21Speaker 1: or hush? And I take that when my wife puts
- 41:23Speaker 1: on that makeup every time we get ready to go,
- 41:25Speaker 1: as you want to put on makeup. She's trying to
- 41:27Speaker 1: improve a little bit, but I was telling her, you
- 41:30Speaker 1: do not need makeup, sweetie. I love your natural beauty.
- 41:34Speaker 1: What do I need to do? Steve, y'all keep us laughing, man,
- 41:38Speaker 1: and y'all keep us entertaining. We love y'all. God bless y'all.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Y'all have a blessing productive day. Well. I appreciate your dog,
- 41:45Speaker 1: but you got a problem him. You've only been married
- 41:50Speaker 1: one year. You fought in nine. You just filed this girl.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Don't mess it up because your ass talking about you. You
- 41:59Speaker 1: You hate makeup. That ain't what you said when you
- 42:02Speaker 1: first got married. Now all of a sudden, this ain't
- 42:05Speaker 1: the first time she trying makeup, So now you got her,
- 42:09Speaker 1: you can stop all this. Ain't nobody forty nine trying
- 42:11Speaker 1: make up for the first time she like makeup. Your
- 42:14Speaker 1: ass needs to get the starts to like and make up.
- 42:18Speaker 1: What you needs to do? You needs to get too
- 42:22Speaker 1: starts to like in makeup and shut your mouth, happy wife,
- 42:28Speaker 1: happy life. I can't stand that. Now. As far as
- 42:32Speaker 1: you forty nine years old praise dancing, we're not fitting
- 42:35Speaker 1: to look at that either. I'm not tuning in for
- 42:42Speaker 1: no fifty year old praise. Let your boy praise dance, jumping,
- 42:50Speaker 1: splash water people in turn real fast without falling. You're
- 42:54Speaker 1: gonna spend one time in your old ass, gonna wipe
- 42:57Speaker 1: out that whole front row, knocking the podium over the
- 43:03Speaker 1: Christmas treat and fail you do, knock the cross off
- 43:05Speaker 1: the wall and broke the back off a p He's
- 43:09Speaker 1: too old to be praised. Dan, don't even like going
- 43:12Speaker 1: to churches where they had that. We're now gonna have
- 43:15Speaker 1: a word from our praise dances. You say a word.
- 43:18Speaker 1: I love praise, but I don't want to see all
- 43:21Speaker 1: your hand motions. I love it. I don't take all
- 43:25Speaker 1: these roads off. Ain't nobody in trees dancing never fit? Yeah?
- 43:30Speaker 1: And why is your face white? What did you paint
- 43:33Speaker 1: your mind that? Jesus know that you take that off?
- 43:40Speaker 1: We know that's you. Come on, man, all right, listen.
- 43:52Speaker 1: If you want to leave Stephen voicemails call eight seven

- 47:45Speaker 1: I can't moaning. You want them happy to have these
- 47:47Speaker 1: You have these cans, but we can't be having my
- 47:49Speaker 1: wife at your house. Dog got all kids. I understand that,
- 47:53Speaker 1: but I the baby needs some milk. That's some side
- 47:56Speaker 1: I need. I need to come by and feed the
- 47:59Speaker 1: bay dog. I just told you to come by drop
- 48:03Speaker 1: off a couple of cans and milk. But I mean,

- 48:24Speaker 1: basy what you want to want to come out of
- 48:27Speaker 1: your house and do what I want. I told you
- 48:35Speaker 1: you're a lot of shop mine. I don't know you
- 48:38Speaker 1: to be talking about my wife coming to your house
- 48:40Speaker 1: breasting your baby. Matter fact, you give my number? Who

- 55:02Speaker 1: was just saying, is I need more? Yes? I Oh,
- 55:06Speaker 1: I'm glad I didn't hear that. Okay, you're good. That's
- 55:13Speaker 1: subject she means the world to me. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 55:18Speaker 1: I'm a twenty eight year old single man and I'm
- 55:20Speaker 1: in love with the most beautiful girl. In the world.
- 55:24Speaker 1: I need your advice on how to love her properly.
- 55:28Speaker 1: My father has not been active in my life because
- 55:31Speaker 1: he's incarcerated. I can't go to my mother with the
- 55:34Speaker 1: kind of questions I have on how to be a
- 55:36Speaker 1: man and to love a woman. I've never seen a
- 55:38Speaker 1: positive love relationship, so I don't want to mess it
- 55:41Speaker 1: up with my girl. When I visited my dad at
- 55:45Speaker 1: a young age, I knew that I would never end
- 55:48Speaker 1: up in his situation, so I was teased a lot
- 55:50Speaker 1: for not running with the boys in my school. Instead,
- 55:54Speaker 1: I joined the debate club and the tennis team. Those
- 55:57Speaker 1: were two of the most uncool activities at the school,
- 56:02Speaker 1: but it was great for me because that's how I
- 56:05Speaker 1: met this girl. She still has her parents together in
- 56:08Speaker 1: the home, and her grandmother lives with them. It feels
- 56:11Speaker 1: good to visit her home and have dinner as a
- 56:14Speaker 1: family with them. Her father pulled me aside one day
- 56:17Speaker 1: and offered to get me a sports coat to wear
- 56:20Speaker 1: when he noticed mine was too small. I was ashamed,
- 56:23Speaker 1: but grateful that he never mentioned it to his daughter.
- 56:27Speaker 1: I feel he trusts me with her life, so I
- 56:30Speaker 1: don't want to mess this up. I look to you
- 56:33Speaker 1: for guidance, and I need some words from you on
- 56:35Speaker 1: how to keep my cool. I have a great job
- 56:38Speaker 1: and my own home that she's helping me decorate. I'm
- 56:43Speaker 1: appreciative of any advice you and Miss Shirley can offer me. Well.
- 56:49Speaker 1: I mean, first off, right here, pay close attention, boy,
- 56:54Speaker 1: Yes that's right. First of all, I have to say,
- 56:58Speaker 1: this is a beautiful, beautiful letter. I love this letter.
- 57:01Speaker 1: It makes me proud. It fills me with hope because
- 57:04Speaker 1: I know that there's still a lot of great guys
- 57:06Speaker 1: out there, and you sound like one of them. Um,
- 57:11Speaker 1: we've never had a letter like this, So I just
- 57:13Speaker 1: appreciate you wanting to do the right thing by your girl,
- 57:17Speaker 1: and you ask how do you love her properly? Well,
- 57:22Speaker 1: it sounds like you're off to a good start because
- 57:25Speaker 1: first you want to do this, this is something you
- 57:27Speaker 1: want to do. How do you love a woman properly?
- 57:30Speaker 1: You protect her, You make her feel safe, you make
- 57:33Speaker 1: her feel secure. You you treat her well, You take
- 57:37Speaker 1: care of her, You make her happiness a priority. You
- 57:40Speaker 1: be a gentleman. You treat her like a lady. You
- 57:42Speaker 1: stay stay close to her dad too, because he seems
- 57:46Speaker 1: to really like you and he seems to want you
- 57:48Speaker 1: to win. That's important. He could be your your father
- 57:52Speaker 1: role model. Um, you know you're motivated, highly motivated, young man.
- 57:56Speaker 1: I say, stay motivated, don't cheat on her, communicate with her,
- 58:01Speaker 1: listen to her, keep your word, show her you mean
- 58:05Speaker 1: what you say. I mean. These are just some of
- 58:07Speaker 1: the things that you can do to love her property
- 58:10Speaker 1: properly from a woman's perspective. And here's Steve, and I
- 58:13Speaker 1: know you have a lot more Steve ahead. Well, it's
- 58:17Speaker 1: a deal, young man. I appreciate the letter. She means
- 58:21Speaker 1: the world to me. Well, that's something that's not mentioned
- 58:25Speaker 1: a lot today. If you look at ig and you
- 58:29Speaker 1: look at all these stories, you know you don't very
- 58:31Speaker 1: rarely hear men saying that a woman means the world
- 58:34Speaker 1: to her. Not often, especially in young people. So it's
- 58:38Speaker 1: a great thing that you have that aspect going for
- 58:43Speaker 1: yourself and that type of level of commitment. You only
- 58:47Speaker 1: twenty eight years old, you're single, You're in love with
- 58:50Speaker 1: the most beautiful girl in the world, and to love
- 58:53Speaker 1: her properly, it's very simple. The key word to loving
- 58:58Speaker 1: somebody properly is respect, young man. It all starts with respect.
- 59:07Speaker 1: One of the best pieces of his advice I ever
- 59:10Speaker 1: got was do unto others as you would have them
- 59:13Speaker 1: do unto you. That's so important. But can I tell
- 59:17Speaker 1: you something, man, that is so hard to do as
- 59:22Speaker 1: a man, That is so so hard to do. Do
- 59:28Speaker 1: unto others as you would have them do unto you.
- 59:31Speaker 1: And if you start with respect, that's going to cover
- 59:34Speaker 1: a lot of ground. You know. Would you want her
- 59:39Speaker 1: to be loyal to you, then you in turn have
- 59:41Speaker 1: to be loyal to her. And we can't continue to
- 59:45Speaker 1: use excuse Well, I'm a man, you know, I trip
- 59:48Speaker 1: every nine and in, but I still love my girl.
- 59:50Speaker 1: I got all that. But you're gonna lose a dog
- 59:52Speaker 1: if you do that. So when I come back, I
- 59:55Speaker 1: go a little bit more in depth with it to
- 59:57Speaker 1: help you out. All right, Steven, We'll have part two
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: of your response coming up at twenty three minutes after
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: the hour. Today's Strawberry Letters, subject she means the world
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: to Me. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, Come on, Steve, let's recap
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter. The subject is she means the world
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: to me? All right, I got a twenty eight year
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: old young man whose father has been incarcerated, not active
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: in his life. He can't go to his mother with
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: the kinds of questions that he has on how to
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: be a man and love a woman. He's never seen
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: a positive relationship, and he don't want to mess it
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: up with this girl. And when he visited his dad
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: at a young age, he knew that he would never
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: end up in that situation. So he got teased a
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: lot for not running with the boys in the school,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: and Steady joined the debate club and the tennis team,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: and those are the two of the most uncool activities
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: at school. True, But it's okay though, because tennis can
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: get you a long way, and so will debating skill.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: And but it was great for you because that's how
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: I met this girl, either at the tennis school or
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: at the debate club. So jack potty worked out for you.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: And her parents are together at home with their grandmother,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: and it feels good to visit at home and have
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: a deal as a family with them. Now here's the
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: upside to this, because we were talking about how do
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: you love a woman properly? And I started at the
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: bottom of the letter by explaining to this young man,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: that it all starts with respect. If you respect a
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: woman her wishes, respect her needs, You respect her thoughts,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: you respect her feelings, you respect everything about her. That's
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: how you keep a woman. Weren't even talking about love yet,
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: We're just talking about a basic thing that everybody has
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: the capability of doing. Respecting. Now the fact that you
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: in love with this girl is added because you now
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: you have feelings for her, and like you said at
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: the top of the letter, she means the world to me.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: So now that means you in love. So here's an
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: upside to this. After respect, when you go by a house,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: you kind of like that. You know they have a family,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: and you all had dinner. You love that her father
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: pulled you aside one day and offered to get me
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: a sport coach where when he noticed mine was too small.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I was ashamed, but grateful that he never mentioned it
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: to his daughter. I feel that he trusts me with
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: her life. Okay, now you're going too far. Now. He
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: don't trust you with her life yet. He don't, but
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: he watching you, and he likes some things about you.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Because he likes he likes some things about you. But
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: and he's willing to help you. If the father is
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: willing to help you, that means that Steve and so
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: he'd poured you to the side and got you a
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: sport coat to wear when he noticed yours was too small.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: So he liked you. He think that's put potentially me
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: and he did it away from his daughter. So you
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: don't want to mess this up. So you look to
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: me for guidance and some words on how to keep
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: my cool. But listen to me. Man, you have somebody
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: who likes you, that's an older man, and that's her father.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Now you gotta be careful here because you're gonna come
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: to him for advice. But the advice you're coming for
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: you have to remember that this is his daughter. I've
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: had this conversation before with young men. It's hard. I
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: want to do the right thing. I'm trying to do
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: this with your daughter. Blah blahlah. Now I want him
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: to understand how to be successful. But at the same time,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: I'm team daughter all the time. I'm team Morgan, team Brandy,
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: team Carley, team lawyer. So I'm gonna help you, but
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: it's gonna be to her advantage, and you just got
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: to understand that part of it. Man, he's going to
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: help you, but it will be to her advantage, and
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: it might not be a bad thing because you should
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: want it to be to her advantage, which is the
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: other thing. So it you're in a good position with
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: the guy. Now you don't want to mess this up.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Don't stay respectful. These are my words of guidance to you.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Respect and love is the key to the whole thing.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Now here's what you do. Have You say you have
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: a great job, you got your own home that she's
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: helping you decorate. I'm apprecier of any advice that you
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: and Miss Shirley can offer. You got your own home,
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: you twenty eight, or you're strong, You've got a good job,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: You're strong. She helping you decorate it because she see
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: herself in that house. You win it, you winning dog.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Stay respectful, don't blow it, don't mess this up. The
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: problem with us as men sometimes is once we get
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: things together and once we start learning a little bit more,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: we have a tendency to want to show people what
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: we got and what we know. And that's when you
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: want to show it to somebody else so you can
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: get that same cheering that you got initially from your girl.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: When she found out you was at homeowner all this here,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: so now you want to show it off, and then
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: that makes you want to invite somebody else over so
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: she can see the house, so forth and so on.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: YadA YadA, YadA, YadA YadA. You gotta be aware because
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: that's called temptation, and that's coming. Try to avoid the temptation.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Remember the Lord's bread. Give us this day our daily bread,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: and forgive us our temptations. We've forgive us our trust. Pass.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: We've given those will trust pass against us, and lead
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: us not into temptation, but deliver us from all that
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: is he. Oh try, young man, that's my daily prayer.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: I just try. I try. Don't get right all the time,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: and neither will you. And you're gonna make some mistakes
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: and she's gonna get mad at you. I thank you
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: on track. You're gonna be fine. Just remember respect. Thank
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: you very much, all right, Steve, Thank you. Leave your
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: comments on Today's Strawberry Letter on the Instagram and Facebook

- 1:06:27Speaker 1: minutes after the hour. Our girl from the Talk, Sheryl Underwood.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: come on, Steve introduced our girl from the Talk ladies
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: and gentlemen. Here she is the one the oldest Sheryl Underwood.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: Thank you, Steve Harvey. And you know, to the Steve
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Family and everybody listens to Steve Harvey
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Morning Show. You know, we celebrating the holidays, you know
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: what I'm saying. We you know, wish everybody married Christman.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: You don't have corns. You know, we ain't got there yet,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: but you know we look out for the you know,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: happy New Year. But Steve, I want to ask you personally,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: do you remember when you and I were backstage with
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: the Daytime Emmys and we both looked at each other
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: and you said to me, we did it right. And
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: I don't think people are as grateful as they. I
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: don't know, I shouldn't say should be with everything that's
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: going on, COVID, inclement weather and everything. Just that little
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: thing of you and I having that backstage connection, that's
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: appreciation of a blessing. Do you guys think that people
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: nowadays appreciate the blessing? Absolutely not. I think this world
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: is in such a state of lack of gratitude because
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: we're in too much of an old look at me society.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: It's Instagram, it's igs, Facebook watch is posted like and dislike,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: and it's trolling. It's too much of that. It's too
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: much of that. I think it's very missing. That's right.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: What do you think Schy describe berries? You know, you
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: got that spirituality going. I just don't think people engage
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: each other the way they should. I feel sorry for
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: the kids now they didn't even date. They hook up
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: and what like, and then even a holiday each other.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Yeah back then, but back then, even the holidays, it
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: had a spiritual component. But listen, it ain't Christma until
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: I hit Temptations and oj Crisma. Just ain't christ the
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: one you love what you lonely do for Christmas? You know,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: social describe berries. Back in the day, we appreciate it stuff.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Even when you got one gift, you appreciated it. I
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: just don't feel like people appreciate at the blessed times, right.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: I mean we're raised so differently, you know, and we
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: didn't have you know, Steve mentioned social media. We didn't
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: have social media growing up, so it forced us to
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: talk to each other and be in groups with each
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: other and deal with families and stuff like that. Now
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: we don't have to. We can sit in front of
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: our computer and be nameless and face and you know
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: you hate and definitely not appreciate. People are entitled today.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: They think you owe them something. You know you mustn't care.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Williams face then go on and on. But that's for now.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: But you know what, I just want to say this
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: to everybody that's listening show. First of all, be be

- 1:20:09Speaker 1: year of learning. We came out of the shale a
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: little bit from COVID, we started the recovery from COVID.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: God kept us all safe. I know a lot of
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: people out there lost some people that was dear to
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: them because of this pandemic and for other reasons also.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: But the fact remains that we're still here. That's a blessing.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: That's truly, truly a blessing. Um. It's a good thing
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: to be grateful, man, It really really is that I
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: look back on this year and all God does has
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: done for me. I can't help but be grateful. I
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: know it's been some challenges over the past year, the
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: past two years. I know people have lost jobs, positions, homes, careers, businesses. Uh,
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: but everything is a lesson. Every single thing I've discovered
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: in my life is a lesson. Every mistake that gets
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: made is a lesson, every every everything. Man. Just listen, y'all.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: As we go into this holiday, be grateful, Be thankful

- 1:21:14Speaker 1: Spend some time calling some people that you haven't spoken
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: to in a while. Tell them you love them, given
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: their flowers while they live farm. Keep your friendships alive.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Just put in some phone calls. Hey, look, I may
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: not have much this year, but I just wanted to
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: call and tell ya I was thinking about you and
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: I love you this year. I just want you to know, Man,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: if you ever need me, I'm now. I ain't got
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: a lot, but you got my loyalty, my love, and
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: my friendship. I think that's very valuable. Don't forget that.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: Try not to be disappointed this year. Don't expect people
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: to do exactly what you want them to do, because
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: people are the humans, and they make mistakes. I'm going
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: into this new year ready more connected to my higher
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: power than ever before. I'll be led more, I follow more,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: I listen more. I worry a lot less than I
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: used to because I just gave the wheel over. I
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: just told God, you drive, I'm gonna follow wherever you lead. Man,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: it has taken me places I never thought I would go. Now, listen,
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: your life is not my life, and my life is
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: not your life. But my life ain't Michael Jordan's life.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: My life ain't Tiger woods life. My life ain't Being
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Crump's life. My life ain't nobody else's. It's just mine.
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: Stop looking at the path that other people are on
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: and focus on your path, because your path is very
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: uniquely designed for the life God has for you. The
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: problem you have is when you start looking at other
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: paths and you want that path. That path has nothing
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: to do with you. Stop looking at what other people have.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: You don't know how they got it, You don't know
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: what it cost him, and you don't even know if
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: it's really there. Stop following people. I tell my, look
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: at all they likes. You don't know what's behind them looks.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Take them eyelashes off, in that makeup and turn that
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: bag the right way where you can really see everything,
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: and you would be surprised. Get content with your own self,
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: be happy, Learn to be happy with you. Where you are,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: who you are, what you doing, where you going, what
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: you praying about what you're hoping for, what you're living for.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Get excited about you. Stop worrying about other people. Stop
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: looking at what they do. It ain't got nothing to
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: do with you. Listen, listen, focus on yourself. Put your
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: awareness on yourself, God and what He has for you.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: It serves you no purpose to look over there as
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: somebody else running their race. All it does is slow
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: you down from yours. Keep the pace, keep the faith,
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: and keep your eyes on the prize. That's how you
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: should run this race. Do not get do not get
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: caught up in things that are not for you. I'm
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: telling you, one of the things that helped me most
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: was when I stopped worried about the path somebody else
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: was on, and when I started focusing purely on the
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: path I was on, My life got a lot cleaner. Man.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: You know what, I don't care who you look at.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Somebody gonna always have more than you. Somebody gonna always
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: appear to be doing more than you. Somebody gonna always
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: appear to get more recognized. Listen to me. All of
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: your blessings have your name on it. Do you understand
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: what I'm saying to you? All of your blessings got
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: your name on it. Ain't nobody else's name on none
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: of your blessings. God don't make them kind of mistakes.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: All of your blessings have your name on it. Everything
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: that's intended for you you will get and receive. Everything
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: that's not yours, you will not get. You didn't get
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: that award that wasn't yours, You didn't get recognized by
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: this group of that group wasn't for you. Stop, it's
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: all good. All I want from God is to make
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: sure that I stay open to receive all the blessings
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: that have my name on it. That will be good
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: enough for me. I don't want nobody else's If I
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: just stay clean and live a good enough life where
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: He give me all the blessings with my name on it,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: that will be good for me. Remember, all your blessings
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: got your name on it. Quit looking at everybody else
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: boxes that's not your box. Y'all have great wold Man.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: I want to thank the crew, Shirley Carler, Monica, Tommy Junior, Jay, Anthony, everybody.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Y'all have a great holiday. We'll see y'all. God is
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: good man all the time, and all the time. God
