- 2:52Speaker 1: the first thing I would like to invite everyone too
- 2:54Speaker 1: is our anniversary exhibit at the Museum in the City
- 2:58Speaker 1: of New York. We are participating UM in a nineties
- 3:03Speaker 1: black parties. UM exhibit titles started from the nineties. Now
- 3:06Speaker 1: we're here so they can see some of those cool
- 3:09Speaker 1: fashions that we've done. Celebrate in our twenties five anniversaries

- 3:29Speaker 1: I try to like it starts at six pm on

- 3:56Speaker 1: be I gonna be flying anyway, you know, I know that.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I know that sort of fact. So that's one of
- 4:03Speaker 1: the cool events of our parents company, five thousand and
- 4:06Speaker 1: one Flavors Um I'll retail expression of five thousand on
- 4:10Speaker 1: flavors and Harlem Habit. Actually, of course, our retail store
- 4:12Speaker 1: at two four or five Lenox and Harlem. UM. You know,
- 4:15Speaker 1: we're family owned and operated business. It's important for me
- 4:19Speaker 1: to create a legacy of transferable wealth and brand UM.
- 4:23Speaker 1: You know, business excellence that I'm trying to transfer from
- 4:25Speaker 1: a family. So always important for me, you know, for
- 4:28Speaker 1: my for profit businesses. But what I'm actually calling you
- 4:31Speaker 1: about is one of my philanthropic organizations that I work with.
- 4:34Speaker 1: As as important as you're a for profit, it's important
- 4:37Speaker 1: to create a legacy and become a philanthropist. I have
- 4:41Speaker 1: a wonderful member of the Black Women for Black Girls
- 4:44Speaker 1: Given Circles. It's a philanthropic group of women who donate
- 4:49Speaker 1: their time, talent and treasure to the positive, positive development
- 4:53Speaker 1: of Black girls in New York City. UH. In honor
- 4:56Speaker 1: of the black girls we were in the village and
- 4:58Speaker 1: family and mentors that supporting I wished us. We aim
- 5:01Speaker 1: to support the next generation of of leaders through membership
- 5:05Speaker 1: and financial support. UH. And I know that you were excited,
- 5:09Speaker 1: you know, when I was telling you about our Signature program,
- 5:11Speaker 1: which is about college Shower where we through nomination, select
- 5:15Speaker 1: several girls to um receive a college shower in their
- 5:19Speaker 1: honor through our system network in village and uh, you know,
- 5:23Speaker 1: corporate sponsors. We create a program with a girl's register
- 5:27Speaker 1: for a registry and we uh you know, get everything tools, decoration,
- 5:32Speaker 1: any type of resource that they need so they can
- 5:35Speaker 1: succeed when they go to college. So it's really important
- 5:38Speaker 1: for us to kind of acknowledge our young people and
- 5:40Speaker 1: you know, help them as they move into the world. So,
- 5:43Speaker 1: you know, we have our college shower coming up to
- 5:46Speaker 1: have a lovely UM honoree, UM select you know, girl
- 5:51Speaker 1: selected from the internet, UM applications from respials, from personal relationships,
- 5:57Speaker 1: and so it's going down this July a. And know,
- 6:00Speaker 1: if anybody wants to support our college show initiatives, that
- 6:04Speaker 1: can definitely look up Black Women for Black Girls Giving Circle.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Our website is b W for BG dot org. Uh,
- 6:12Speaker 1: you know, clip the donor button and support our young
- 6:15Speaker 1: people as they kind of strive to become the leaders.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Up tomorrow, We're gonna do better than that. You're gonna
- 6:20Speaker 1: give me a banner and I'm gonna sending to my followers.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna sending to my fan club members. I got
- 6:25Speaker 1: two and thirty thousand of them, and I got over
- 6:27Speaker 1: a million social media followers. We're gonna do it that
- 6:30Speaker 1: way too. And because when I saw that, I know
- 6:33Speaker 1: there are many steps to get the word out. Doing
- 6:35Speaker 1: this radio show is fine, being on the podcast, being
- 6:38Speaker 1: on seers Exam, but you know, the success is not
- 6:41Speaker 1: It's about relationships. And that's what I try to tell
- 6:44Speaker 1: everybody who called moneymaking conversations. I have a relationship with
- 6:47Speaker 1: her family, I have a relationship with her brand, and
- 6:50Speaker 1: she knows me. I never asked for anything. This is
- 6:53Speaker 1: about about another step. This is how you help people,
- 6:56Speaker 1: Like she said, this is about this is this the
- 6:58Speaker 1: event right here, July. It It's not about for a profit.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It's about for carrying. It's about uplifting. It's about motivating
- 7:06Speaker 1: people to realize that if you have a dream, it
- 7:08Speaker 1: can be accomplished. But the one thing about the dream,
- 7:10Speaker 1: here's a tricky thing about the dream. You cannot do
- 7:13Speaker 1: it by yourself. Understand that not a dream. You cannot
- 7:17Speaker 1: do it by yourself. You have to have the right
- 7:20Speaker 1: people around you who support your dream, who will be
- 7:23Speaker 1: there at the moment of crisis. Because in any dream,
- 7:26Speaker 1: any goal, any level of treatment, there will be crisis
- 7:30Speaker 1: and that person has to be there to tell you
- 7:33Speaker 1: and welcome you there. And that's what this campaign that
- 7:35Speaker 1: you have with the black women. This is in the Harlem,
- 7:38Speaker 1: New York area of New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania. That's a
- 7:43Speaker 1: big area she's talking about all the way down to
- 7:45Speaker 1: go down to do Baltimore. That's going down to d. C.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Howard University. I'm I'm telling everybody shade yes because it's you.
- 7:56Speaker 1: We have to support each other, UM. And your support
- 8:00Speaker 1: doesn't necessarily have to come from your family. It can
- 8:02Speaker 1: come from um, you know why why a group of
- 8:05Speaker 1: people in your life. So we try to create a
- 8:07Speaker 1: mentorship program, a networking opportunity for our girls to kind
- 8:11Speaker 1: of see women in positions of power. UM. You know,
- 8:15Speaker 1: we have to acknowledge our young people. We see you,
- 8:17Speaker 1: we we see you doing great things, and we support you.
- 8:20Speaker 1: So it's really important for us to kind of honor, uh,
- 8:23Speaker 1: you know, the black girls that we were by working
- 8:26Speaker 1: with young black girls who are becoming women. So that
- 8:28Speaker 1: is you know, the main exstasis of what we're doing
- 8:31Speaker 1: for the college. Hower. UM, it's important for me to
- 8:34Speaker 1: be as involved in philanthrophic opportunities as it is you
- 8:38Speaker 1: know for my for profit business. UM. As I mentioned
- 8:41Speaker 1: you know Harlem Habit actually his family owned and operated.
- 8:44Speaker 1: And I see that what I'm trying to do for
- 8:47Speaker 1: my family is needed all over, you know, our country.
- 8:50Speaker 1: So now I'm gonna be up there August eight for
- 8:53Speaker 1: the twenty fifth anniversary of five thousand one flavors. Know that,
- 8:56Speaker 1: but my name on the list, or have me walk
- 8:57Speaker 1: up there to day they go, who ja state girl.
