Local family shares their story on why you should wear your seatbelt

On February 25th, 2023, the lives of Jessica Mitchell and her family were forever changed. Jessica's husband, son and daughter were involved in a crash in Kerwood. Their SUV collided with a pick-up truck. Jessica's husband Jason was killed while her daughter Layla and son Oliver were injured. Seatbelts saved their lives and they're speaking out on the importance of wearing them. The LHSC did a poll this year and found between January and June, 90% of students between grade 9 and 12 reported being in a car with someone who wasn't wearing a seatbelt. 75% said they don't wear one themselves…
