- 0:01Speaker 1: We're making a lot of money this country. This country
- 0:04Speaker 1: is not going to be losing money on trade anymore.
- 0:06Speaker 1: I think we were losing two trillion dollars a year
- 0:08Speaker 1: on trade.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Now we're going to be making.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Money, a lot of money. We'll be able to lower
- 0:12Speaker 1: taxes substantially, and we're going to be proud of ourselves.
- 0:15Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Good Thursday morning. Ben Ferguson with you.
- 0:21Speaker 4: It's nice to have you on the forty seven Morning Update,
- 0:23Speaker 4: and we've got two major stories we're going to be
- 0:25Speaker 4: talking about. Number One, Donald Trump is saying that we're
- 0:29Speaker 4: getting closer to working toward to deal with China on trade.
- 0:33Speaker 4: What are the details. I'll have that for you in
- 0:35Speaker 4: just a second. And also a major story is we
- 0:38Speaker 4: were at the White House. We sat down with the
- 0:40Speaker 4: Assistant Secretary of the Department of Home in Security to
- 0:43Speaker 4: talk about where we are when it comes to deportations,
- 0:46Speaker 4: including those in MS thirteen gangs. We're also talking about
- 0:50Speaker 4: securing the border and what the numbers look like. Right
- 0:53Speaker 4: now that live from the White House. It's the forty
- 0:56Speaker 4: seven Morning Update, and it starts right.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Now story number one. It is a step in the
- 1:01Speaker 2: right direction.
- 1:02Speaker 4: President Donald Trump saying that the entire world now wants
- 1:05Speaker 4: to be a part of trade negotiations with the United
- 1:08Speaker 4: States when asked about his discussions with China happening on Wednesday.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Trump's comments came during an impromptu pres gaggle after surveying
- 1:19Speaker 4: the north lawn of the White House for the best
- 1:22Speaker 4: spot to stake a massive flagpole for a massive American
- 1:26Speaker 4: flag that the President says he's going to pay for himself.
- 1:30Speaker 4: That's another exciting win, putting America first. Now, the President
- 1:34Speaker 4: was asked about what's happening with China and the trade deal,
- 1:37Speaker 4: and here's the President in his own words, thior.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I five is a president on China. Are you thinking
- 1:42Speaker 2: about are you thinking about lowering their tariff's fair?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Deal with China? It's going to be fair.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Are you talking to them actively?
- 1:47Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Actively, everything's active. Everybody wants to be a part of.
- 1:51Speaker 5: What we're doing.
- 1:53Speaker 1: They know that they can't get away with it any longer,
- 1:55Speaker 1: but they're still going to do fine. And then we're
- 1:57Speaker 1: going to have a country that you can be pressed.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Out of, not a laughing stock all over the world for.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Many years, you know, and nineteen thirteen they traded to
- 2:07Speaker 1: the income tax system. We used to be old tariff
- 2:10Speaker 1: and we had no income tax, so we had the
- 2:12Speaker 1: wealthiest country proportionately. From about eighteen seventy to nineteen thirteen
- 2:19Speaker 1: it was old tariffs, and we did We had more
- 2:21Speaker 1: money than anybody. They had committees how to spend the money.
- 2:24Speaker 1: They had so much money, that did other stuff. Then
- 2:27Speaker 1: some three in person said, let's go income tax.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Let's let the people pay.
- 2:32Speaker 1: We're going to be able to substantially lower taxes when
- 2:35Speaker 1: this is finished.
- 2:36Speaker 4: We're going to be substantially able to lower taxes when
- 2:40Speaker 4: this is finished. The present making it very clear that
- 2:44Speaker 4: tariffs are not just about protecting America, especially on the
- 2:47Speaker 4: issue of national security, but also that he wants to
- 2:51Speaker 4: lower your taxes significantly. He said, We're going to have
- 2:54Speaker 4: a fair deal with China. It's going to be fair now.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Trump also told a reporter that the administration was quote
- 3:01Speaker 4: actively now talking directly with China. Everything is active. The
- 3:06Speaker 4: White House notably revealed on Thursday that the administration had
- 3:10Speaker 4: received eighteen formal trade offers and the trade team was
- 3:15Speaker 4: set to meet with thirty four different countries this week alone.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Speaking broadly about trade negotiations in the gaggle as well,
- 3:23Speaker 4: Trump said, there is a lot of action going on.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They all want to be involved with America, and we
- 3:30Speaker 1: have a lot of action going on. We have We're
- 3:32Speaker 1: making a lot of money this country. This country is
- 3:34Speaker 1: not going to be losing money on trade anymore. I
- 3:37Speaker 1: think we were losing two trillion dollars a year on trade.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Now we're going to be making money, a.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Lot of money, So that's very good. Every country wants
- 3:45Speaker 1: to partake, even countries that have ripped us off for
- 3:48Speaker 1: the years, China as an example, but it's not just China,
- 3:52Speaker 1: European Union, they ripped us off for many, many years,
- 3:56Speaker 1: and those days are over. We're going to make a
- 3:58Speaker 1: lot of money for our people, will be able to
- 4:00Speaker 1: lower taxes substantially, and we're going to be proud of ourselves.
- 4:04Speaker 1: They're not going to be a laughing stock. Got taken
- 4:07Speaker 1: advantage of it by virtually every country.
- 4:09Speaker 4: In the world. America got ripped off, and the president says,
- 4:13Speaker 4: I'm going to fix it now. Citing anonymous sources, The
- 4:16Speaker 4: Wall Street Journal is also reporting that the Trump administration
- 4:20Speaker 4: is weighing reducing tariffs on Chinese goods. The White House
- 4:24Speaker 4: Press Secretary Caroline Levitt shut down the prospect of a
- 4:28Speaker 4: unilateral reduction in an interview on Fox Here's what she said.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Let me be clear, there will be no unilateral reduction
- 4:35Speaker 5: in tariffs against China. The President has made it clear
- 4:38Speaker 5: China needs to make a deal with United States of
- 4:40Speaker 5: America and we are optimistic that will happen. And when
- 4:44Speaker 5: that continues, it'll be up to the President what the
- 4:48Speaker 5: tariff rate on China will be. But we certainly need
- 4:51Speaker 5: to see a reduction in tariffs and non minute monetary
- 4:54Speaker 5: tariff barriers from China as well, and we also need
- 4:57Speaker 5: to continue seeing these companies abroad we turn their manufacturing
- 5:01Speaker 5: to the United States of America so we can shore
- 5:03Speaker 5: up these critical supply chains.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Yet again, it looks like the media got it wrong
- 5:08Speaker 4: on this story, as the White House had to come
- 5:10Speaker 4: out and say no, there will be no unilateral reduction
- 5:14Speaker 4: in tariffs against China. What we certainly know is this,
- 5:18Speaker 4: we need a reduction in tariffs, the White House did say,
- 5:21Speaker 4: and a non monetary tariff barrier from China as well,
- 5:26Speaker 4: and we also need.
- 5:26Speaker 2: To continue seeing these companies abroad.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Return there manufacturing to the United States of America so
- 5:32Speaker 4: we can shore up these critical supply chain issues.
- 5:36Speaker 2: All of that coming from the White House. So the
- 5:38Speaker 2: big takeaway is.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Yes, we are moving forward with China, but many other
- 5:42Speaker 4: countries this week as well, and you can expect trade
- 5:45Speaker 4: agreements to be announced in the very near future.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Now story number two.
- 5:50Speaker 4: As many of you know, this show is all about
- 5:52Speaker 4: giving the news before it happens coming out of the
- 5:55Speaker 4: White House, the big stories of the day. We'll celebrating
- 5:57Speaker 4: the first one hundred days of the Trump administration. I
- 6:01Speaker 4: was asked to come to the White House to sit
- 6:03Speaker 4: down with many members in the administration. One of those
- 6:07Speaker 4: was Tricia McLoughlin. She is the Assistant Secretary of the
- 6:10Speaker 4: Department of Homeland Security, and we set down for an
- 6:13Speaker 4: interview and the big issue we talked about was obviously
- 6:16Speaker 4: what's happening at the border. Here is that conversation that
- 6:20Speaker 4: we did at the White House in the Treaty Room.
- 6:22Speaker 2: One of the big issues.
- 6:24Speaker 4: That so many Americans care about right now is the
- 6:26Speaker 4: issue of what's happening at the southern border. We have
- 6:29Speaker 4: done a lot to secure the border in our President
- 6:31Speaker 4: Trump and in the first hundred days. But then there's
- 6:34Speaker 4: the issue of all the illegal immigrants that are in
- 6:36Speaker 4: this country and how we're going to deport them, especially
- 6:39Speaker 4: those that are in immistrating gang members and Trey de
- 6:43Speaker 4: la Laga gangs. This is still a major issue for
- 6:46Speaker 4: safety for so many Americans. So joining me now to
- 6:48Speaker 4: talk about this is Trician mclofflin. She is the Assistant
- 6:51Speaker 4: Secretary Department of Homeland Security. Tricia, it's a pleasure to
- 6:54Speaker 4: have you here and to talk about this. Let's go
- 6:57Speaker 4: to the headlines and start there. You've got this story
- 7:00Speaker 4: of a MS thirteen gang member who even his own
- 7:03Speaker 4: wife was making sure that his knuckles were that had
- 7:06Speaker 4: the tattoo of the MS thirteen gang symbol was not
- 7:10Speaker 4: on social media in some of her postings. Then the
- 7:13Speaker 4: media tried to say that he was not a gang member,
- 7:16Speaker 4: that this was terrible, that we kicked him out of
- 7:18Speaker 4: this country, and that we send him out Salvador and
- 7:20Speaker 4: they're domating him back. And now Democrats have gone all
- 7:22Speaker 4: in on this, like there's delegations using taxpayer dollars to
- 7:26Speaker 4: go and meet with this person, not meet with family
- 7:28Speaker 4: members and victims in this country, those that have been terrorized,
- 7:31Speaker 4: those have been killed, those have been raped and murdered
- 7:33Speaker 4: by this gang that is a terrorist organization, and now we're.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Also seeing lawfare in the courts.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Try to say no, no, no, President Trump, you can't keep
- 7:40Speaker 4: American safe as well.
- 7:42Speaker 6: Exactly Ben, And there really is a concerted effort by
- 7:44Speaker 6: the media and Democrats to whitewash this story, whitewash who
- 7:48Speaker 6: this guy is, that he's some innocent marilynd father, when
- 7:52Speaker 6: he's anything but. First and foremost, he is in the
- 7:54Speaker 6: country illegally. He had final deportation orders. But let's go
- 7:58Speaker 6: through the timeline a little bit to justcribe who this
- 8:00Speaker 6: guy Abrego Garcia actually is. When he was initially arrested
- 8:04Speaker 6: in twenty nineteen, he was found among other MS thirteen
- 8:07Speaker 6: gang members, decked out in MS thirteen year having different
- 8:11Speaker 6: MS thirteen symbols on it. He was found with drugs
- 8:14Speaker 6: and rolls of money as well. Two separate immigration judges
- 8:19Speaker 6: found that he was an MS thirteen gang member, as
- 8:22Speaker 6: well as the Prince George's County gang unit. Keep in mind,
- 8:25Speaker 6: Prince George County, Maryland isn't exactly some red haven, it
- 8:28Speaker 6: is very blue. They found that he is in MS
- 8:32Speaker 6: thirteen as well, flash forwarded to twenty twenty one. His wife,
- 8:36Speaker 6: his own wife, who like you said, was covering up
- 8:38Speaker 6: his knuckles, was filed a domestic restraining order against him
- 8:43Speaker 6: for slapping her, for ripping off her shirt, for pinching
- 8:47Speaker 6: and scratching her sheet, and her own written testimony said
- 8:49Speaker 6: how she feared for her children and tried to take
- 8:52Speaker 6: them away from him. And then then if I am
- 8:55Speaker 6: ay one more time is in twenty twenty two, he
- 8:58Speaker 6: was pulled over by the Tennessee st Highway Patrol. Yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 6: during which he was allegedly taking eight individuals from Texas
- 9:06Speaker 6: to Maryland on a three day journey. On a three
- 9:09Speaker 6: day journey with eight people, and there was not a
- 9:11Speaker 6: single piece of luggage in that vehicle that reeks of
- 9:15Speaker 6: human trafficking. That is textbook, And so we're left to
- 9:18Speaker 6: believe that, oh, no, this is an innocent guy.
- 9:21Speaker 4: And by the way, that let's be queer the Biden administration,
- 9:23Speaker 4: the FBI said no, no, no, just let him go.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Don't worry about that.
- 9:26Speaker 6: There's certainly more to the story, and I'd love to
- 9:28Speaker 6: hear more from the FBI and what went down there.
- 9:31Speaker 4: So you look at this guy, and he's over there,
- 9:33Speaker 4: and now the media has become like he's some sort
- 9:37Speaker 4: of folk hero or hero for them. The Democratic Party
- 9:40Speaker 4: is spending taxpayer hours to go down there and meet
- 9:42Speaker 4: with him like he's a celebrity. You have centers that
- 9:45Speaker 4: are holding his hand like he's been persecuted by the
- 9:47Speaker 4: United States of America and demands to bring him back,
- 9:50Speaker 4: what so he can deport him to another country as
- 9:52Speaker 4: soon as he gets here, because that's exactly what could happen.
- 9:54Speaker 6: It's remarkable to me that this is the hill that
- 9:57Speaker 6: the Democrats and media are willing to die on that
- 9:59Speaker 6: they have. I have one small shred of any credibility left,
- 10:02Speaker 6: and this is what they're going to burn it on.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Is this MS thirteen gang member. Americans should remember who
- 10:08Speaker 6: MS thirteen is. It is a vicious gang that sex traffics,
- 10:12Speaker 6: that human traffics, that mames, rapes, and kills Americans for sport.
- 10:17Speaker 6: These are people who should not be in our country
- 10:19Speaker 6: and should be hunted down and locked up immediately.
- 10:22Speaker 4: You just look at some of the things that apparently
- 10:24Speaker 4: were found on his devices, and that's one of the
- 10:28Speaker 4: things that I found interesting on the reporting, is you
- 10:30Speaker 4: look at what they share MS thirteen GAG members.
- 10:32Speaker 2: They share the pictures of beheadings, the butchering of humans.
- 10:36Speaker 4: And then yet they're trying to say, oh, this guy's
- 10:38Speaker 4: a victim who broke into America.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Anything but and that is I mean, if you look
- 10:43Speaker 6: at the crime on American streets and crimes by these
- 10:46Speaker 6: illegal immigrant gangs, so much of the time they're done
- 10:49Speaker 6: by MS thirteen, they're done by Trendy Aragua, they're done
- 10:52Speaker 6: by these other vicious gangs. They shouldn't have been here
- 10:55Speaker 6: in the first place because they're in the country illegally.
- 10:57Speaker 6: Much less the fact that with IMPUNE they've been allowed
- 11:01Speaker 6: to rain terwer on American streets for the last four years.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Let's talk about the court system now, and we've seen
- 11:07Speaker 4: these activist judges who are stepping in and using law
- 11:10Speaker 4: fair to say, hey, the president can't do this anymore.
- 11:13Speaker 4: You can't just ship people off to the other countries.
- 11:15Speaker 4: We're going to stop you every step of the way.
- 11:18Speaker 4: What is the administration's response to that. How long is
- 11:21Speaker 4: it going to take for this to play out?
- 11:23Speaker 6: I think ultimately President Trump, Secretary Norman, this entire administration
- 11:27Speaker 6: are going to be victorious on this issue on November fifth,
- 11:31Speaker 6: twenty twenty four. There is a clear mandate from the
- 11:34Speaker 6: American people that we need to get criminal, illegal aliens
- 11:38Speaker 6: out of this country. There was likely ten to twenty
- 11:41Speaker 6: million illegal aliens who came into this country under Joe Biden.
- 11:44Speaker 6: The American people are done with it. Look, whether Garcia
- 11:47Speaker 6: is in an American detention facility or an La Salvador,
- 11:50Speaker 6: what matters really is that he's locked up. But I
- 11:53Speaker 6: do think ultimately this will be sorted out. We will
- 11:57Speaker 6: ensure that these individuals have due process. That was what
- 12:00Speaker 6: the Supreme Court was most concerned about was the amount
- 12:02Speaker 6: of time these individuals were given notice. But we're going
- 12:05Speaker 6: to be very clear that despite the fact that these
- 12:07Speaker 6: are terrorists and these are criminal gang members, this is
- 12:11Speaker 6: still the United States of American. We guarantee due process
- 12:15Speaker 6: under the US Constitution.
- 12:16Speaker 4: So when you look forward after, we're at the hundred
- 12:19Speaker 4: day mark in essence, and this is pretty awesome because
- 12:22Speaker 4: there's a lot that's been done. The border is now
- 12:24Speaker 4: more secure that's been in decades, the number of people
- 12:27Speaker 4: are coming across. I think the message the present sent
- 12:29Speaker 4: loud and clear was you come here now.
- 12:31Speaker 2: It's game on.
- 12:32Speaker 4: We're saying that the number of crossings have dropped significantly,
- 12:36Speaker 4: but there's the big question of Okay, there's a lot
- 12:39Speaker 4: of people that got in under the Biden years. There's
- 12:41Speaker 4: literally millions. How are we going to unwind all of
- 12:44Speaker 4: that in an orderly fashion?
- 12:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that we're working to do just that.
- 12:48Speaker 6: Secretary Nome was handed a tough task and she's taking
- 12:51Speaker 6: it on miraculously. Look at the border, as you just mentioned,
- 12:54Speaker 6: we virtually have operational control of the border. Crossings are
- 12:58Speaker 6: down ninety five percent. That is, i all accounts, the
- 13:01Speaker 6: most secure border in American history. That's in less than
- 13:04Speaker 6: ninety days. It's pretty remarkable. But we also have to
- 13:08Speaker 6: look at our legal immigration system as well. The Biden
- 13:12Speaker 6: administration majorcas use parole programs, temporary protected status, and these
- 13:16Speaker 6: other programs to allow illegal immigrants to come into this
- 13:21Speaker 6: country unvetted. We don't know really who's in this country,
- 13:24Speaker 6: so we have to really take a pause and go
- 13:26Speaker 6: through who did we let in for the last four years.
- 13:30Speaker 6: So I think it's going to take also a unleashed ice.
- 13:34Speaker 6: Secretary name has been remarkable in that, but the fact is,
- 13:37Speaker 6: for the last four years Biden did not allow these
- 13:40Speaker 6: ICE agents to actually do their jobs. They were disincentivized
- 13:43Speaker 6: for making any of these arrests, whether it be just
- 13:46Speaker 6: illegal aliens to criminal vicious aliens like these MS thirteen members.
- 13:50Speaker 6: As we've mentioned before. So we have a tall task
- 13:54Speaker 6: and we've got to get these arrests numbers up. But
- 13:56Speaker 6: that's part of the reason why Secretary Nome is on
- 13:58Speaker 6: the ground a weekly basis with our enforcement officers from
- 14:03Speaker 6: Border and Protection Patrol and from ICE to make sure
- 14:07Speaker 6: that we're getting them the resources they need to be
- 14:09Speaker 6: successful to get these arrest numbers up and to make
- 14:11Speaker 6: sure they're safe on the job.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Let's talk about detention detainers that the ICE needs in
- 14:17Speaker 4: the court systems. They need these courts to alert them
- 14:19Speaker 4: when they have somebody in custody that clearly needs to
- 14:21Speaker 4: be deported. We still are seeing activists that are not
- 14:24Speaker 4: allowing for that to happen. How big of an issue
- 14:27Speaker 4: is that going to be moving forward? And is there
- 14:28Speaker 4: more than the White House can do to stop that
- 14:30Speaker 4: from being a thing.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Yeah, I think the Department of Justice under Attorney General
- 14:33Speaker 6: Pam Bondi is definitely looking at options with these sanctuary cities.
- 14:37Speaker 6: Like you mentioned, if ICE isn't able to lodge these
- 14:40Speaker 6: detainers against these criminal aliens, that they could be released
- 14:44Speaker 6: into American communities and go out and commit the same act. Actually,
- 14:47Speaker 6: a couple of weeks ago, Secretary Nome was in New
- 14:50Speaker 6: York City and a lot of listeners will probably remember
- 14:53Speaker 6: this really heinous crime at Coney Island, the subway station
- 14:57Speaker 6: there where this illegal immigrant lit this woman on fire
- 15:00Speaker 6: and killed her. It was incredibly depraved. Ice tried to
- 15:04Speaker 6: lodge a detainer, and we are not sure if that's
- 15:07Speaker 6: going to be honored. So we don't know if and
- 15:09Speaker 6: when this guy will get out. But if he's not,
- 15:10Speaker 6: he could be released back into New York even though
- 15:13Speaker 6: he's in this country illegally. That's the kind of cases
- 15:16Speaker 6: we have to end. And that's why, I mean, case
- 15:18Speaker 6: in point, why sanctuary cities are so so dangerous.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Final question for you on moving forward the next one
- 15:25Speaker 4: hundred days, what do you expect the headlines to be
- 15:28Speaker 4: from this administration on this issue? Obviously, the border secure,
- 15:32Speaker 4: we can check that box. We're doing more, But where
- 15:34Speaker 4: is this going to go and what can the American
- 15:36Speaker 4: people expect?
- 15:37Speaker 6: I think you're going to see ramped up deportation numbers.
- 15:39Speaker 6: I think you're going to see more agreements with third
- 15:42Speaker 6: party countries. Whether you'll see that with Al Salvador, that
- 15:45Speaker 6: they're taking some of our most vicious, worse, the worst
- 15:48Speaker 6: criminal aliens. I think you're going to see more of
- 15:50Speaker 6: that from other countries to make sure that these guys
- 15:52Speaker 6: are off of Americans oil and take and take part
- 15:55Speaker 6: in getting their folks folks back. I also think we're
- 15:59Speaker 6: going to see more you know, we're going to see
- 16:00Speaker 6: more action with these the courts and some of these
- 16:02Speaker 6: activist judges. But we're not gonna let it stop us.
- 16:05Speaker 6: We have deportation flights going almost every single day, and
- 16:08Speaker 6: alien a Numies Act is only one tool in our arsenal.
- 16:11Speaker 6: We have a lot of authorities to get these people
- 16:13Speaker 6: out of the country.
