For the rest of our lives. But speaker-1: No yeah, same ⁓ speaker-0: Yeah. Good time. speaker-1: Same season, city stay frozen. Big Apple pressure when you step in the Ozone. Jets on the rise, next light in the garden. Trying to still stand, Yankees moving like bosses. Mets in the mix, get the energy chosen. Press plate, turn it up. Lights on the mic, yeah, we speak for the town. If it's New York sports, we break it all down. Pressure on the takes, but we built for the noise. Every wind feel earned, every loss, make boys. See the tone stay gritty. If you reppin York, then you rippin' with me. New Year. Same season. City stay frozen. Big Apple pressure when you step in the Ozone Jets on the rise, next light in the garden. Giants still stand, Yankees movin' like bosses. Mets in the mix, yeah the energy chosen. Press plate, turn it up. Welcome to the Ozone. To the ozone. ⁓ City on lock. Yeah, the tone stay potin. Every bird tuned in when we open the ozone. Okay, you know. No sleep, no breaks, just pressure and focus. New year voice live when we enter the ozone. New year, same season. City stay frozen. ⁓ Big Apple pressure when you step in the Ozone. We're 3.9. Just sniffs, giant pinstripes, origin blue. City talking yeah, they tuned in too what it's worth from the black to the skyline, precious date poor dollar if it's New York's force to stand by Ozone. To the ooze on that looks dope. I can't front that setup looks dope. speaker-0: I could have been there guys. speaker-1: Yeah, it's the 30th anniversary too of the formation of the NWO. I'm getting sidetracked. I'm getting sidetracked. Damn, but I I like the setting. I this is what this is what makes AEW different in W. I like this. ⁓ but Andre Drummond, brother, what's your what's your reaction? We didn't get to speak our real reaction about the move. Andre Drummond to the Knicks. Basically, he will be Mitchell Roberts' backup. What are we thinking? speaker-0: Mean look, Drumm a great history in the NBA. If this was a signing that was maybe let's I'd say six years ago, I'd be even more excited. You know, we know what kind of I mean, it's been some it's been a while since Drummond's been actually, you know, center relevant to the league. But he's still a he's still a a valuable piece in what we can add to our bench. So I'm very happy with what we're getting for the price that we're getting. You're still talking about somebody who can definitely bring some of what Mitchell Robinson was providing us with the defense, the rebounding, ⁓ speaker-1: Years ago. speaker-0: He can shoot a free throw. So there's there's a lot of puzzle. There's gonna be no hack of Drummond, I'll tell you that. there's it's it's different in a good way. You're still gonna miss Mitch. You're definitely gonna remember ⁓ what he brought to the table when we watched Drummond play, but it's not the worst signing considering what is out there in the dry desert called centers in free agency. speaker-1: ⁓ I agree with you. I think look, at the end of the day, a lot of centers, you can man, a lot of centers would get in the bag. ⁓ and considering as we touched on it, Knicks was not touching that second apron. We were very limited in the choices. As you mentioned, you you heard the Kavon Looneys, you heard ⁓ the Nick Richards, the Andre Drummond. Andre Drummond just made the most the most sense out of the three. ⁓ you know what I mean? He you know, he had a solid backup years with with with ⁓ with the sixes. Obviously, he's far removed from his starting days ⁓ when in Detroit, as you touched on. ⁓ but there's things that he can still bring to this Knicks team that they can use as a backup center. One is his ability to rebound. ⁓ Andre Drummond does is still one of the best big re ⁓ rebounding bigs ⁓ you know in the game. So, you know, he's his ability to set screens. We saw it from time to time. He could hit the little corner three. Now, I'm not saying that we need to run the offense on him shooting quarter threes, but he's capable of knocking a couple down. Much better free throw shooter than Mitchell Robinson. Obviously, what we're gonna lack is the defensive intangibles that Mitchell Robinson brings. Come on. No one's questioning that. I guess if you want to say we're coping, 100% Dave and I is safe to say Dave and I are coping. speaker-0: We we we gotta make something. speaker-1: Nick's Twitter is coping. You know, they started posting up stats and ⁓ you know, all the analytics and how drumming might be slightly better than Mitch. No, we're not gonna go that far, but we're talking backups. So Andre Drummond, not bad. ⁓ right now, I do think the Knicks are not done, though. Because now you're hearing today that Jonas Valacunas was let go by ⁓ the Denver Nuggets. ⁓ definitely the Knicks are one of the teams that's going to. That has interest in bringing in Valentunas amongst other teams, amongst other contenders. ⁓ and I I all I do believe also he is maybe even thinking about going overseas. So, brother, how we feeling about Jonas Valentunas? maybe come to the Knicks as well and join R. Drummond. speaker-0: He's a better scorer. ⁓ he definitely spaces the floor a little bit more. ⁓ he's definitely a different brand of basketball compared to a Drummond or or Kat. ⁓ he's not as efficient of a shooter as Carl Anthony Towns, but he's not as he's not as bad as let's say Drummond would be out in space. ⁓ so I definitely look like I like what we get from him. He's a good rebounder as well. Look, at the end of the day, these are backups. These are not guys that we're looking for to give us ⁓ 30, 40 minutes a game. So if these are the guys that are coming off the bench and they're they're veterans and they're being had for cheap, why not go for these kind of guys? ⁓ I'd rather that than try to, you know, go into the sacred apron to get someone else at this point because then it's like you could have done that Mitch. speaker-1: No, no, a hundred percent. I think ⁓ we gotta I gotta tell ⁓ we I'll answer later. ⁓ I think honestly I I like Valentunas because Valent Tunis is gonna play the third center roll, brother. You know what I mean? So a veteran ⁓ that can ⁓ give you some minutes if you need to. If i if you wanna sit down, cat, you know what I mean, for a d a game or two, you can start drumming, have him come from, you know, have ⁓ Have him be the backup. You know, you have a third, you have a third string center that's a veteran. I think that's very important for a championship contending team. ⁓ so I don't hate the move. I wouldn't hate it at all. Valentunas can't pass the ball. You know, he is, when I say this, guys, he is the Timu of Timu versions of Joker as far as his ability, his style. You know what I mean? And his ability to pass and that sort of thing. So ⁓ it's, it's, it wouldn't be a bad move. I'm I'm I wouldn't hate it. I wouldn't hate ⁓ a adding Joe Val ⁓ Jonas Valentunis, especially as an insurance policy in the center position. ⁓ but you know, Nick fans just let us know. You know, I know ⁓ Nick Richards is still out there, Kavar Looney's officially off the table. He's with the Lakers. So ⁓ that's something that ⁓ So, you know, Cavon Looney went to went to LA. So now you're talking even very bare. So you who knows how many teams are going to be in the Jolas Valentina sweepstakes. You know what I mean? So that's one thing to look out for. But I'm interested to see. But there's another player, brother, that's making rounds. And we're not talking about LeBron. We're not talking about LeBron. ⁓ you and I spoke about this quickly about LeBron. This is not 2010, LeBron. So if you're watching this, brother, sign with your team already. Nobody cares where you play. You know, you're hearing ⁓ you're hearing Philly, you're hearing Miami, you're hearing ⁓ I said Philly, Miami, Cleveland, and Golden State. Bro, just make your damn decision. Just make your decision already. This is not twenty ten. No one is you know what I mean? Like you you you you you're not you don't want to meet with the teams. You want Rich Paul to do all this. You throw in the Knicks for clout because and then you got Rich Paul talking about, well, you know, LeBron is an enterprise. Yeah, and LeBron needs to ⁓ You know, what what needs to happen is, you know, for that to happen, Brunson will have to call, bro, stop it, stop it. No one cares. Sign with your team. Get it over with. speaker-0: Right. And what you're getting for LeBron, LeBron doesn't even want to be a primary scorer. What happens with Le with LeBron if he signs with any team is he's gonna he's trying to be like the third option. He doesn't want to be the person who needs to he can definitely win you a game, but he doesn't want to be that guy anymore. He wants to be the guy that is just like I can pass the ball and I can bring more to the table. I don't have to be the guy. That's what he's looking for. speaker-1: Yeah, guys, let us know in the comments below what you guys think about ⁓ these moves so far the Knicks are doing. Andre Drummond, Jonas Valentinis. ⁓ Joey just led us to the next guy that we were, I was gonna mention, ⁓ DeMar DeRozan to the Lakers for cheap. That's the guy right there. DeMar DeRozan was bought out by the Sacramento Kings. ⁓ the interesting thing, obviously, there's a lot of teams that would want his services. You're hearing so far ⁓ Miami, you're hearing even a possible return to Toronto. ⁓ demar DeRozan, obviously the Knicks, you know, Knicks fans that already peaked Knicks fans ⁓ intrigue on DeMar DeRozan. I will say this. I'm not, I don't think the Knicks are in the running because ⁓ I don't know if DeMar DeRozan is willing to accept the role to come off the bench. Now, if he's doing that, he's gonna open up a lot of teams. You know, a lot of teams are then they're gonna be in it. You know what I mean? ⁓ because one, if the Knicks get DeRozan, he's not gonna start. Who's he gonna start off? He's not gonna start. And I think, like I said, I don't know if he's ready for that. Remember, y'all, Mike Brown coached DeMar DeRozan for half a season in Sacramento, his first year. And one of the things Mike Brown wanted to do was Mike Brown wanted DeRozan to come off the bench. That was one of the reasons why Mike Brown was ultimately fired by the Sacramento Kings. So one, I don't even know how that relationship goes, how that relationship is right now. Obviously, I don't know if they mended things, but I don't know. But DeRozan, I would be open to DeRozan coming here, brother. If he's willing to accept the bench roll. If he's willing to accept that, then you know you're pro you're probably talking about maybe Jordan Clarkson not returning. Now, and then they're also you're also hearing that Clarkson, it's The it's in the Knicks' favor right now that he may come back. So we might be able to bring back Clarkson. So that's something that Knicks fans I'm interested in. Would you guys rather have Clarkson or DeRozan coming off the bench, brother? But what's your what's your thoughts, bro, ⁓ on DeMar DeRozan and where do you think he's gonna land ultimately? speaker-0: I mean, look, I if I had it my way, I'd have both of them coming off of our bench, ⁓ Clarkson and DeRozan. Look, DeRozan has been somebody I've been praising for years. He is a mid-range guy, mid-range god. ⁓ he is the standard when it comes to shooting the mid-range. ⁓ he's someone if he could come off of your bench, he relieves so much pressure off of the guys that are also there. If you have a deuce, if you have ⁓ you know, if we had Alvarado out there, well they know that all right, we don't have to either shoot the three or we don't have to go drive it in. We have somebody who can create his own shot. Which is something that DeRozan has always been known for. ⁓ he's a player that I've I've I've loved watching for years and I'd love to see him come over if the price is right. And it's kind of one of those things that like players sometimes have to accept that role as they get older. I believe DeRozan is thirty six, I believe, somewhere around there. I I don't know the exact age. But ⁓ the fact is some of these players have to accept their role. Russell Westbrook was one of those notable players. There we go. So ⁓ speaker-1: Thirty six. speaker-0: Whatsu Restbook was one of those players who had to like learn, like, hey, I may have to come off the bench because this is not my role. I'm not that guy anymore. And I don't, you know, and that's perfectly fine if you're a DeRozan, and I'm pretty sure at this point of his career, if he's playing for someone, he wants to play for a contender. Well, you just saw that the guy you used to play for just won a championship with the team that they're basically running me running back besides their bench. So why not sign with the guy you're familiar with? On a team that you don't have to do so much, but you can bring so much when you are asked of it. ⁓ I I I think it's the perfect situation for DeRozan at this point in his career. It's a perfect situation for the Knicks so they can run it back next year because as we've seen, the league has shaked up so much. This is one of the biggest shake ups we've seen in the league. speaker-1: Man, the Knicks the Knicks got the Knicks got the league. The Knicks got the league going crazy right now. speaker-0: Star players going for for a bag of chips and and aging players. So look, if there was ever a chance for ⁓ for for DeRozan, there are very few teams that can get him there, but the Knicks are definitely one of those that I'd want him to consider. speaker-1: Yeah, ⁓ look, I I I'm gonna give credit to KF TV. I heard it and I'm like, you know what, this makes the most sense. I think the Knicks only try to pursue DeMar DeRozan if you're ultimately going to trade Deuce McBride. If you end up if if you're gonna trade Deuce McBride to then bring in a center, I would hope. ⁓ you know, whether that, you know, I don't know, whatever center you can get. You do that, then you bring in DeRozan because then DeRozan can be that ⁓ point of attack, run the offense through him off the bench. But I just don't think it I don't think he'll blend that well with this current Knicks team as if Jordan Clarkson would. Like you said, Jordan Clarkson knows his role. Jordan Clarkson out definitely pivoted from the role he thought he was gonna have when he first came into the Knicks and became more of a defender. ⁓ crashed the boards, did more of the small things that got him back into the rotation. And then I'll be honest, if you bring in a DeRozan, what does that do with Mo Diorra? You know, Modi Oara is a guy I want to see play a lot more minutes next year. I want to see the evolution of his game. Same thing with Tyler Kohlik. That's why I'm a little open to now flipping deuce to see if you can get another more starter, more reliable center. ⁓ because I wouldn't mind you know, ⁓ Cole getting those point guards back up point guard minutes. So ⁓ a lot needs to be done ⁓ with the Knicks, but I'll be honest, man, and I thought I was thinking about this earlier. Man, two years in a row, two offseasons in a row, Leon Rose has done something that no one talked about, no one was mentioning. And I and I just got a feeling the way he approached the center's market, I think he got something up his sleeve. Leon's got something up his sleeve. He is sometimes it's the moves that no one's talking about that Leon pulls it off. So that's something to ⁓ that's something to look out for ⁓ when it comes to our New York Knicks. But guys, let us know in comments below ⁓ what you think about DeMar DeRosa. Do you want to see DeMar DeRosa become a New York Knicks? ⁓ how you guys are feeling towards LeBron James made trying to make it the decision 2.0. ⁓ You see, just as like we don't care where LeBron goes. That is a hundred percent fact. There are some Knicks fans that truly believe maybe LeBron could still go there. And my thing is, why? That ship done sailed a long, long, long time ago. But guys, let us know in the comments below. And not and and y'all that's ⁓ anybody that's connected on the Instagram stream, guys. Y'all, let's pivot. We're pivoting now. We're pivoting now to baseball. and both teams, ⁓ like ⁓ let's start off with the small crumbs first. Let's talk about the metro fast, brother. I on the script I had Yankees first, but let's talk about the metro fast. ⁓ What was it, July? You know what? Met fans, I I'll be honest. I I don't know how they I I think they're taking it the I I just think that I just think Met fans are taking it the hardest that the Knicks season is officially over. because you have to watch this garbage. As a fan ⁓ that you know, we've I've root for teams that suck. The Knicks have sucked for a lot of years. Before the Brunson and the Giants stink and all this, but having to watch this Met team. And I was watching them over the weekend, July 4th weekend. They they're playing their rivals, the Atlanta Braves. And one of them, what was it? I think it was Sunday's game. They almost blew like an eight run lead. Like they almost blew an eight run lead. And then they they they ⁓ on Monday, they blow the lead. Thankfully, they won. ⁓ you know, War Soto hits this big bomb home run, puts them on top, then they give up the lead, and then they eventually won. But then yesterday, yesterday's game had to be the nail on the coffin for for Met fans. Like, if I was a Met fan, I'm doing this, I'm throwing the hat, and I'm looking forward to football. I'm watching whatever I am watching reruns of the World Cup or whatever, because. What the Mets did yesterday was embarrassing. Not only are do you suck and you want your fans to go and support you, but then you go and let and then you go and do this and then you get them in a group. You're wasting Juan Soto. Because War Soto goes, he's hitting bombs, ewing. I like him. I like that young kid. I like him. He's good. He's he showed some pop. He shows some clutch time hitting. I will give him that. But then you go and you. I think was they were they were nine or four or something like that. And then they go, I look at the iPad and I'm like, wait a minute, they're down fourteen to nine or something. I'm like, wait a minute. To the Royals? This isn't look, this like I said this a couple weeks ago. This Mets should the the Mets should just like just blow up this team. Literally blow up this team. Get whatever you can get for your guys. The only people that should be safe is Juan Soto and the young players. That's it. You hear Mike Francesa talk about that they should Mike Francesa must be listening to us because I said everybody, including Francisco Lindore, and now all of a sudden Mike Francesa's mentioning Francisco Lindore should be traded. Well, you know what? I've been saying that. Because you right now, there's teams that can use a shortstop. On the other side of town, they can. There's teams that will you gotta get whatever you can get because this team ain't it, man. This team is not it. Worse record in baseball. They're not a good baseball team. ⁓ now I just saw that they got a promotion two for twenty-two because they they having a hard time getting fans in the building. They got Eric Emmanuel Knight. They're gonna get a sellout because people just gonna go and buy the shorts and then leave the ballpark. It's it's in in incredible. Right now, get what you can get. P ⁓ guys are gonna need relievers. Trey Brazeban, he's been good. Trey Luke Weaver, get rid of Freddie Perolta, get rid of Kodai Singer. They Kodai Singer in the bullpen, he's just as bad in the bullpen as he was as a starter. ⁓ you know, I like I I don't know what to tell you. Sean Maniah got a break because he got his ERA lowered because the the the hundred the 100 runs he gave up in Atlanta ended up becoming unearned. So, you know, that saves him a little bit, I guess, if you want to look at the numbers. But all in all, this is a bad Mets team. ⁓ and I predicted this Mets team to be good this year. I don't know what I was thinking, but I had predicted them to be good. I was on the talking game pod brother before the the season. And I mentioned how I really think this was gonna be a good Metch team because of the pitching, but it's been a it's been a letdown. This this ⁓ this team has just been a letdown and David Stearns, ⁓ we've already went over how you know he's gonna he's gonna play out his contract. So who Met fans, you guys are stuck with him for another two years. ⁓ so poor Mets. But I'll tell you this that the team across town is not any better right now because the New York Yankees continue to lose. ⁓ Look, I'm this is what I I remember. I said this. I said that the Yankees should should get a catcher, get some relievers. But after watching, since I said that, watching the last couple weeks, obviously the Yankees ⁓ they need offense. That's without a doubt. They struck out 34 times in the last two games. 17 strikeouts back to back games. Back to back games where the Yankees have struck out 17 times as a team. This starting pitching. It's I think it's time. You might have to you you you gotta you gotta call Detroit. You gotta call Detroit. You gotta get you gotta get Scoobo in there. Because at first I'm looking at the rotation and I'm like, you know where we're good. But now you have Rodon out. He's gonna be out a few weeks. We don't know when Clark Schmidt's coming back. They're saying Clark Schmidt's doing well. We don't know when he's coming back. Ryan Weathers, you know, brother, I have not been big on him. I just, I'm not big on him. And I'm gonna be honest, I don't trust him in the playoff start. I just don't. Max Fried is still several weeks away. Garrett Cole has pitched well at times since he's returned, but he's clearly not the same. ⁓ Will Warren is Will Warren. Like he's gonna probably give you four to five innings. He might give up three runs. He might give up five runs. But Will Warren's not a guy that's gonna scare a lineup in October. So really you're just left with is Cam Slitler. And the the Yankees have to take advantage because they're in a division and they're in a league, which is the American League, that is very weak. I am not ashamed to say that the Yankees are very lucky that they are in the American League. Because if they were on the National League, the Yankees wouldn't stand a damn chance. This Yankee team, I hate that people on the radio go, well, this is still a good team. What baseball are you watching? What baseball are you watching? They're a good team, yeah, amongst the bums that are in the American League. I'm looking at the National League and I go, they're not better than the Phillies. They're not better than the Braves. They're not better than the Brewers. They're not better than ⁓ the Cubs. They're not better than the Dodgers. Those are five teams already. That you didn't, they're not better than. Tampa Bay right now is proving that they're better than us. And the way we're playing at this moment, where we don't know when we're gonna get John Carlos Stanton. The most injurious, the most injury-prone, healthiest guy I've ever met in this world. We have never, I'ma be honest, brother. Have we ever seen a guy so chiseled but has a bad body? If that makes sense. Like, the guy is a Greek god, but yet always hurt. Make that make sense. speaker-0: I guess that's the balance, right? That's the the the the balance for him. speaker-1: Aaron George, we don't know when we're getting him back. You know, so you got what you're gonna have to do, you're gonna have to get Scooby. And I know there's gonna be Yankee fans. ⁓ I'm not giving up the farm. I'm not this. I don't want to give up the farm. Bro, I'm gonna be honest. We've been pumping this farm system for so many years, and all these guys have turned out to be straight doo doo. Anthony Volpe for for for for years. ⁓ we can't include him. He's the next Jeta. We can't include him in deals. We want to everybody in New York right now is willing to pay the first ticket to get him out of here. Jason Dominguez, same thing. You know what I'm saying? So all these prospects that the Yankees hold on to for so long never pan out because one, the Yankees ⁓ don't manage them well. The Yankees play them out of position. Guys are playing. Freaking center field his whole minor league career and then you know in major leagues. ⁓ well, throw them in left. Or throw them here. So it's like, you know what? Miss me with the whole minor league crap. You know who trades their prospects all the time, brother? And you know what? For some reason, they always manage to have a top five farm system and win World Series? The goddamn Dodgers. So I don't want to hear we're the we are the Yankees. We are the Yankees, we're not hoarding prospects anymore, bro. Get me Screwbull. So then teams can at least be scared of our pitcher staff in the postseason. Because right now, you look at this lineup and you're looking at Volpe, a lineup with Volpe, Wells, McMahon. Bro, that's barbecue chicken for the pitchers. It's insane. The Yankees are so lucky, brother, that the Knicks won a championship. Yo, let's be real. Because, yes, people are fed up with the Yankees. But people are still living off the excitement and the high of the New York Knicks. I'm one of them. You're one of them. Where it's like, you know what? Whatever. But those Yankee fans that are probably Brooklyn F fans, they hope. Call them. Do a wellness check. Cause they ain't happy. They ain't happy. ⁓ Anthony Volpe. speaker-0: He's the your guy. Your guy. speaker-1: Anthony Volpe is something else. So Michael K goes on, I guess on his radio show, and he has some interesting news when it comes to Anthony Volpe. Let's just put it like this the Yankees are 16 and 20 when Volpe plays shortstop compared to Jose Cabrero where they're 31 and 19. Let's just put it like that. So ⁓ and Volpe's playing shortstop today. So let that set in. So Michael K, this is what Michael Case said about interesting rumor about Anthony Volpe being told while he was in the minors on his rehab assignment whether he'll be open to playing second base or play second base. This is what Michael Case said he heard about this whole situation. So he is not played great at shortstop. And the one thing that he's done. And I'm not sure that it's done, but there've been enough people that have told me that it was done that when he was in the modern leagues, the ancient said, you know, maybe you should play some shortstop. And he allegedly said, No, I'm the shorts I'm a shortstop. Maybe you should play some second base and he said, No, I'm I'm a shortstop. That's not a good look. If So that's what Michael K said on his radio show yesterday. You know what probably happened, brother? ⁓ somebody definitely called Michael K and said, What the hell are you doing? Because today, 1054 ⁓ a.m. today, this is what Michael K tweeted. Michael K tweeted this right here, y'all. I spoke of a rumor yesterday on the Michael K show that Anthony Volpe would not play second base in the minors. Sounded unlike him, so I checked further today, and there's absolutely no truth to it whatsoever. He never refused to work at second. We'll speak more on it today. speaker-0: Sounded unlike him, so I checked it further today. Yeah, I'm speaker-1: So the thing is this in journalism, I'm not to say I'm on a back, but you know what? I got a degree in it. Why would you then share that? Why would you share that on your talk show if you didn't already do your due diligence to check to see if the sources were verified, that the story was verified? That is what you do. That is what you do. You verify what your sources. This is why you have sources that you trust. And you don't go out and say it unless you feel like, you know what, brother, I believe this and I'm gonna say it. No, brother, you're lying right now with that tweet. Michael K is lying. Clearly, Michael K got called from somebody up in the Yankees, because we all know Michael K, obviously the voice of the Yankees on the Yes Network. I'm pretty sure. Someone called up the line and said, What the hell are you doing? You need it it's almost like the Daniel Cormier ⁓ comments about the UFC event. Yeah. Very like that. The higher up probably called Michael Kay said, get this out. Because we all know the Yankees protect Anthony Volpe more than probably any player on the team. We all know that because we all know that Brian Cashman is so stubborn when it comes to this kit in the Yankee organization that they want to prove people so wrong. ⁓ So wrong about this kid, where we all know I'm sorry, he is not a major league starter anymore. He can be or maybe a valuable bench player, a pinch runner. But his days, I believe, as a starting shortstop for a potential World Series admiration team, a world world series, a team that aspires to be in a world series, he is just not that player. So I'm calling cap on it. Anthony Volpe was asked about it. He said when I was getting option, I told Booney I'd play catcher. I'd literally do whatever the team needed, and that's the truth. He was caught off guard. Yeah, he was caught off guard because he thought he was protected, and Michael K was like, nah, I'm gonna just say it, and now all of a sudden he's going back on it. Look, Joe Sherman says I don't think Volpe wanted to play other positions when he was given that choice. And that's from Joe Sherman from the ⁓ from the New York Post. I'm gonna be honest, brother. I'm calling Cap. I am calling Cappuccino on Michael K. And I I think I I truly believe that Volpe had some arrogance or some ⁓ some entitlement that he was gonna be the shortstop when he came back from injury. speaker-0: So look, brother, the the the the you said it already, the Yankees have done everything they can to protect Volpe from ⁓ any kind of scrutiny ⁓ scrutiny that he rightfully deserves. ⁓ look with the trade led deadline do looming, maybe that's another thing that we can think about. I doubt that they want to move Volpe, but you don't want that kind of news out there when you're when you have people to be moved around. ⁓ especially if the Yankees wanna be in contention. ⁓ you went over how how ass the American League is. You have six teams that are over five hundred. So you definitely want to take advantage of six teams compared to I believe the nine that are o in in the national league. ⁓ which what the central is, I think like five five out of the six or f or over five hundred. So you definitely want to make some moves and you don't want Michael Kay, the guy that everyone knows for the Yankees. speaker-1: Voice of the Yankees. speaker-0: Talking about your guy, ⁓ your shortstop. Look, I do not like when players are this protected and you would figure that if somebody's a team player, they would do whatever they can so they can be, you know, get this team winning. If it is true, because and and I truly do believe it's true that he doesn't want to play another position, it's not a good luck for other teams to look at him and be like, That's not a guy I want in my team. speaker-1: Look, at the end of the day, okay, you're a shortstop, but you're not the best shortstop even on the main roster right now. Jose Caballero is a better shortstop than you, dog. They have a winning record with Jose Caballero at shortstop. And right now, he's playing second base while Anthony Volpe's playing shortstop. ⁓ I don't get it. Aaron Boone was tossed today. I I'm so done with the Yankees ⁓ right now. You know, it's it's not fun watching this team. It's not fun watching this team and they need to make some moves right now. They need to Yeah, I'd rather have watched the World Cup. Y'all, before we get into wrestling real fast, I did forget to mention this when we were talking about the Knicks. Obviously, we report we posted it ⁓ this week amongst ⁓ amongst all the other Knicks platforms and ESPN and stuff like that, that Jale Brunson ⁓ was gonna be ⁓ having surgery. on his on on ⁓ on his left, I think it was on his right wrist, on his right forearm. ⁓ Jalen Brunson was gonna know Jalen Brunson was gonna have it on his left wrist, left forearm. ⁓ surgery. He's gonna be out two months. So obviously guys, you look at the timeline of it, ⁓ he will be more than ready for the regular season. ⁓ but that'll just tell you, man, that'll just tell you right off the bat, Jalen Brunson, the greatness of Jalen Brunson that he was dropping a 45 burger on the unanimous defensive player of the year in the San Antonio Spurs with a banged up left wrist, left forearm. And that's a shooting hand. So the legend of Jalen Brunson just gets even bigger ⁓ to New York. You know what I mean? So shout out to the speaker-0: Cathy. Kurt Angle won a championship with a broken freaking neck. Brunson won one with ⁓ with a broken freaking forearm. And we will talk about this for the rest of our lives. speaker-1: Yeah, Jalen Brunson, man. ⁓ that's what it is. ⁓ but y'all, let's talk about let's get into wrestling now because this is what I've wanted to talk about ⁓ in the last couple days. CM Punk has come back after which I'm gonna be honest, which I didn't even know. He has come back and returned ⁓ since the night after WrestleMania. In Chicago, I think that's that's getting so outplayed already now. This is like the fourth or fifth time they've done this ⁓ within all the companies, whether it's been ⁓ I know AEW did it twice, obviously. The first, you know, the first time, his first debut, and then they did it again ⁓ with the collision when they brought him back in Chicago. Obviously, WWE has done it with his return with his return in Survivor Series War Games, and now this. This is starting to become like, all right, we've seen this already. But he comes back. Obviously, ⁓ Cody Rhodes was was scheduled to face Sami Zayn for the WWE title. ⁓ to main event Monday Night Raw. Cody Rhodes gets attacked by Gunther and He's gonna have a mystery opponent, which is no mystery. They're in Chicago. Who else is gonna come out of challenge? Sami Zayn. So obviously, the man to open to take the challenge is CM Punk, as Joey says. CM Chump. CM Punk goes. Honestly, good match. I did watch the match. I thought it was a good match. The crowd was into it. I loved Sammy's reaction when Punk came out. So I did like that. Great match. ⁓ but we all knew who was winning. Let's just be honest. We all knew who was winning. CM Punk wins. They end the show with him and a crowd with his people in Chicago, reminiscing to when he won the title ⁓ in Chicago and ⁓ Money in the Bank. So CM Punk is back, brother. It's got mixed reactions, though. It's got mixed reactions from wrestling fans. Some people feel like He's become the Batman, that Batman line. You know what I mean? You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. And this is a lot of people are like, hey, wait a minute. You're becoming what you fought against all these years. This is what you protested, right? Part-time guys coming in out of nowhere, taking full-time guys, title shots, becoming the world champion. Obviously, we all know what, you know. This is why one of the reasons why he left. This is why he left. And now you're coming in. You're that guy now. And Sami Zayn, fan favorite, has almost he's almost kind of got like that Mick Foley, Daniel Bryan, you know, of man, they're never gonna put the title on him. And if they do, it's gonna be on something like this. And that's what happened. So what do you think, brother? speaker-0: I wanna rebuke one point. speaker-1: Go ahead. speaker-0: Now, is it messed up for Sammy's sake? You know, you finally won the championship, you lost it in nine days. Look, to be a WWE champion in general is an honor, right? But to lose it to a part-time guy, let's be honest, CM Punk, yes, has been gone for quite some time. But when he was wrestling, he was there every week. He was there every single week. So I rebuke the part-time part. Now, has he become Hulk Hogan? Has he become the brother who wants to take the belt from somebody? Absolutely. You've definitely seen that. I just rebuke the part-time part because C CM Punk is there every single week. I I I don't know if this was the right move. ⁓ I thought I I saw Sammy losing it at SummerSlam, but it looks like WWE didn't have confidence in him holding that belt until then. And that's usually how that goes. It's logistics more for them when it comes to those kind of things. I think they just ⁓ did a nice gesture to Sammy and said, Hey, here's something, you know. To hold you over ⁓ with all the years you've put in service here. ⁓ and may you know, obviously these are things discussed in the background. The he already knew that he was gonna be turning this belt over to to CM Punk. So let's remember these are storylines. Is it a good look? I don't know. Maybe they should have waited, but they wanted that Chicago moment. ⁓ I don't know, man. How do you feel about it? speaker-1: Whoa, look, ⁓ I think when when Sammy won the title from Cody, I think we all we all knew he wasn't keeping it long. He was gonna be a transition champ. ⁓ Var Vaug just wrote on ⁓ Instagram chat ⁓ they need a championship scramble at SummerSlam. That's not happening, brother. ⁓ that's not gonna happen. They're not gonna put a scramble match at SummerSlam. ⁓ we all knew that, especially because you gotta think about it. Oba won the king of the ring, right? So you go, okay. They're not going to do Oba versus Roman at SummerSlam. So the next big thing is going to be him and Brock. Once they made it known, once Sammy won, you kind of saw, okay, Sammy, they're going to find a way maybe to get Brock against Sammy. Brock was a title, and then that's how Oba challenges. But then once they was like, all right, he's going to challenge Brock at a steel cage. You kind of knew okay, then who's Sammy gonna lose? So you know Sammy, I didn't think at one bit Sammy was gonna bring the championship at SummerSlam. Because you're hearing, and it was reported even today, that CM Punk was reportedly ⁓ originally set to face Cody at Mania forty three in Saudi Arabia next year. However, WWE has changed course in an effort to make SummerSlam bigger than WrestleMania this year. I think WWE wants to make and I and I believe it. Because WrestleMania was very underwhelming this year outside of the the the ⁓ Roman and CM Punk match. So them doing that is gonna make SummerSlam sexier. Now you think about it. Now you have two good main events headlining night one and night two, whether it's gonna be Roman Seth night one, Cody Punk night two, or vice versa. So that's it. ⁓ I agree with you that I don't think punk is a part-timer. I don't because Punk, as you said, Punk was there every week when he signed, whether he was wrestling, cutting promos or whatever. Punk was more there. I would consider Roman Reigns more a part-time guy. Roman Reigns is part-time. Roman Reigns is not there every week. So yes, ⁓ but I do think seeing Punk, you, you, you, you know, you still kind of went against what you stood for when going, you know what, ⁓ yeah, I I'm okay with winning the title. You know what I mean? and It it just sucks that it has to happen at the expense of Sami Zayn. ⁓ where it couldn't happen to like a guy that's been champion already, who's, you know, like if this would have happened to a Seth Rollins, I think people probably wouldn't have cared about it too much or whatever, because Rollins has been champion so long or whatever. And I'm just using Rollins as an example. It couldn't be anybody like that. But ⁓ but to do it against Sammy, who's never been world champ, finally won it, and you know, they kind of set him up for failure because, you know. Fans were booing him. They were booing him in Chicago. He wasn't going to get cheered as much because Chicago's going to be rooting for CM Punk. So ⁓ it's an interesting thing. I I I just look at it how now, you know, you look at all the young talent WWE has, and you go, you're kind of spinning a block again on Roman. And now you're spinning a block again on CM Punk and Cody. You know what mean? So one of them are gonna be champions again. And it's like, how many times you're gonna go to that well? You know what I mean? And I get it, some people, some of the WWE lifers are gonna go, Well, they're building Oba. Well, this should have been it. This should have been it. This should have been Oba's moment, either against a Cody or whatever. Is this WWE now? They're at a point where they're just afraid to put babyface versus babyface. You know what I mean? Because now you're hearing that CM Punk. might turn heel. You know what I mean? speaker-0: I got one more point. Someone is someone tweeted this. There's never been a WWE champion born in the nineteen nineties or later. speaker-1: Go ahead. What? speaker-0: There's never been a WWE champion who's been born after nine who's been born nineteen ninety or after. So speaker-1: Wow. speaker-0: Yeah. Digging into the well there. speaker-1: Interesting. Yeah, this is and yeah, and you got guys like Oba. You got you got you got young talent that is very good. Ron Breaker, I don't know. ⁓ Vaughn this might lead to a heel, Cody. Var, join the YouTube stream. Vault, join the YouTube stream. ⁓ That's interesting because if you're gonna make one a heel, I would almost prefer Cody to be healed. speaker-0: Yeah, but they they just the the money, the money is where they they see themselves. And it's like had there been Vince, I think Vince would have pulled the p ⁓ trigger ⁓ by now with making Cody heal. But I think that because of all the money investments from Tikigo and everything that gets done with that and and the money he pulls in from the kids, because that's a big draw for them, I guess. They're not gonna pull that trigger. Cody's gonna stay it until it becomes stale, which it's been maybe two years ago, but in their eyes, stale. speaker-1: Yeah, ⁓ I think it'll be something new and fresh, a heel Cody versus versus a ⁓ 'cause are the fans ready to boo Sam Punk? I don't know. Like, I I I don't know. That might backfire on on on the the WWE trying to force guys. You know, they always do that. They try to force guys to be heels when the fans want to root for them. I always remember when Rollins came back from when he tourist ACL the first time and the fans cheered them and they they try to make him a heel. And it's like, bro, that's just not gonna happen. ⁓ So, but look, at the end of the day, I think some people don't like the Sami Zayn thing, but I'll say this. I think if you're thinking business-wise for SummerSlam, that's the main event you got to go with. You got to go with Cody versus CM Punk. That's gonna draw seats, that's gonna draw more attention. ⁓ and that's gonna get people to go to Minnesota in the summer. Go who the hell wants a vacation in Minnesota in the summer? So, you know, you you gotta put that. And then you got Roman and Seth. So you got two A-list ⁓ main events ⁓ when it comes to ⁓ SummerSlam. So that's a good thing. I don't know what the tickets are looking at right now, but ⁓ Sami Zayn was pretty P.O. though. This was a Sami Zayn. Now obviously take it for what it is, y'all. ⁓ this is WWE posting as you mentioned, brother. So obviously WWE wants this out. ⁓ but this is Sami Zayn. I think this may, I don't know if he curses guys. If he does, we apologize ahead of time. But this was Sami Zayn after losing the I have a question. I have a question. Come with me. I have a question. How is it that after 24 years of crawling and inching for every little inch to get the WWE championship after I finally get it? Nine days after I get it, that piece of f- Can walk back in here after not being here for months, for months, and waltz right in and get it? Get a chance? That mother f He has no business. No business. Yeah, I'm gonna stop it there. I'll be honest. I like we know it's a work. Right. We know it's part of the storyline. But I don't know, man. I I I see a little, you know, I see a little truth in that, man. I see a little of you know, the 24 years busting his ass, you know, Sami Zayn, like I said, Sami Zayn to me is very much like Mick Foley, very much like Brian Danielson. Guys that that they don't have the physique, they don't have the size. ⁓ they don't scream airport tests as Viz McMahon would say. The airport tests of somebody that you look at and go, wow, this guy gotta be something. And he goes out and he gets this moment to be world champion and it lasts nine days. You know what I mean? ⁓ no built up. At least, you know, if some if someone like you know be plays devil's advocate and go, well, AEW did that with Darby, but at least Darby held the title for a month. Darby was able to defend the title. And and have good matches. You knew Darby was going to be transitional. It was ultimately going to go back to MJF, but at least Darby had some moments with the title, as opposed to Sami Zayn, where this was his first title defense and he lost it. And I thought that ⁓ I I feel a little bad for him. But like I said, I get business wise, they would throw it on CM Punk. ⁓ you know what I mean? So much for the d the the the the beef that they were saying CM Punk was having with with WWE to the point where you had wrestling fans thinking he was gonna return an all-in-I mean an all-out that's now gonna be in Chicago ⁓ which I don't know why AEW continues to go there for Chicago like I don't know but you know you had people thinking CM Punk was gonna return like so that eliminates that ⁓ but CM Punk is back. I want to say one more thing, brother. What I did enjoy about Monday Night Raw was LA Knight promo against Seth Rollins. Man, he dog walked him on that promo, man. And I don't understand what LA Knight needs to do to get a goddamn main event match. Like to be a champion. I don't know. He is another one. That's gonna, it's in that Sammy thing where it's like, I don't know what it is that they don't it's it can't be age. Cause after you said that, that they has they have not been a world champion that's been born after 1990. Don't give me the age crap. You know what I mean? Because that used that that's you was the knock on him. ⁓ well, he's a little older, this and that. No, you're putting the title. CM Punk is older than LA Knight, if I'm not mistaken. So I put the damn title, like I don't understand. Like a guy that sols merch, a guy that's That that that gets the crowd where everybody calls his name. Everybody's yelling his name. Everybody's yelling his stick. And yet this man continues to just move down in the ladder. You know what I mean? And and they gotta find a way to get him the title, man. They gotta find a way to get him in there, man. I don't know what it is. I don't know if somebody in the back, clearly somebody in the back just doesn't have faith in him. ⁓ but it it it's a crime that LA Knight is not a world champion. speaker-0: It's it's truly a shame, brother, because look, LA Knight is somebody who should have been champion maybe two years ago already at this point. And not everybody, not everybody needs to be a long title reign champion. Sami Zayn is a perfect example of someone you can give the belt and hand it over to the next guy. Now, maybe nine days is way too short for someone like Sammy, and that's not respectable enough. But if you can you hold it for like a month or something, like you don't have to be given a long reign, but at least give the guy a shot. Look at the work he's put in, and yes. If if you wanna laugh at him because of the the the mistakes he's made, go ahead and watch all your other wrestlers because they all make mistakes too. It just so happens that LA Knight doesn't get the title shot and then he also makes mistakes too. Look, he he's well past deserved. at least a a real shot at holding the belt for just a little bit. Just a little bit. That's all we want. That's all fans. Watch the pop you're gonna get. Watch the merch you're gonna sell. Look at the promos you'll get, the draw that you'll get, at least from having LA Knight there. It definitely has to be like you said, somebody in the back is pissed off about LA Knight. They don't like him. speaker-1: somebody because I just don't get it. I don't get it. speaker-0: Did he slide into Stephanie's DMs? Like I I I have no clue. speaker-1: Maybe 'cause and that's the that's the interesting part 'cause you would've thought he'd be a Triple H guy. So consider Triple H brought him in, NXT and all that stuff, so you would have you would have thought so, but speaker-0: Right. You know It has to be a TKO move, right? At this point. Like speaker-1: Yeah. ⁓ one thing Kevin Owens he did tweet. He tweeted the boogeyman with the clock. So I wonder now if this brings back, you know, if if you know maybe Kevin Owens comes back, I don't know, maybe him and Sammy become this heel tag team where they destruction lies for CM Punk, but ⁓ let's see. ⁓ but y'all, we definitely we're gonna be tapped in a little bit more with the wrestling. Obviously, a SummerSlam is looming. ⁓ we will be ⁓ covering SummerSlam ⁓ for sure because this is gonna be a big one. ⁓ so Mick Foley's on AEW right now. Shout out, man, shout out to the AEW too. AEW's been putting up some good shows lately. And ⁓ it looks like wait, did Kyle Fletcher win a title? ⁓ yeah, he beat Takesh, though. ⁓ wow. You see, that's that's what's putting young talent over. That's putting young talent over. ⁓ but guys, remember to like, share, subscribe, man. ⁓ we thank y'all so much. I haven't been tapped in with the World Cup. I'll tell you this. I'm not going for Argentina. So if you're going for Argentina, let me know in the comments below. I don't care if you roast me. I'm not going for them. I will be rooting against Argentina. ⁓ Shout out to the United States, man. They I they made it as further as I thought they would make it. Hopefully they can mounts back in four years. But watch the World Cup, y'all. Tap in ⁓ you know, all that stuff. Go Mbappe. We're going for the Corsante. speaker-0: It's called the No we're going for the croissants here. speaker-1: Yeah, I think it's safe to say we we're gonna go we're gonna go with France, Mbappe. ⁓ I like them. I'm gonna I'm gonna go for them. I'ma go for them. I'ma go for them 'cause I I can't I'm not voting for Belgium. But you know speaker-0: Well you know what? So I had a conversation with my wife. She's more in tune with the World Cup than I am. ⁓ and she told me if ⁓ she wouldn't be surprised if Norway makes it all the way. I mean, ⁓ Norway Holland Holland is amazing. I never saw a game from him before, but ⁓ my god, that guy's amazing. speaker-1: He's good. I only know of him because he did an episode of sneaker shopping with Joel Puma. So I I've seen him before. But ⁓ Yo, he is good. That was a really good game. The game was dumb in Brazil. Actually, watch that game because the Yankees sucked so bad. I wanted to see that game. That tell you the Yankees got me watching soccer. That's how bad I that's how annoyed I am with the Yankees. They got me watching soccer. I was watching that game with Brazil. I will say this. I saw that the spread in that game was two and a half. And Neymar got a bullshit penalty kick. And I'm like, yeah, this is Vegas. Game was already over. Norway was up 2 0. And all of a sudden, I've seen worse cause get a yellow card, and he got the penalty kick. Obviously, he kicked the goal in. That covered the spread to three. I'm like, yeah, Vegas is in on this. Or whatever, whatever. speaker-0: ⁓ if it's not France, we're going we're going for Norway. So speaker-1: I'm definitely not going for Argentina. ⁓ Norway is going against Belgium? No. No. Belgium's going against Spain. And ⁓ Norway is, ⁓ man, I don't know. speaker-0: No. I got you, brother. ⁓ France is going against Morocco, Spain is going against Belgium, Switzerland against ⁓ no nope, nope, nope. Norway versus England and Argentina versus Switzerland. speaker-1: So I'm going for Switzerland. ⁓ I'll tell you this, yo, the Columbia. So the Switzerland-Columbia game, I was at the gym and everybody was tapped in. Cause I guess they had ⁓ they got into like an overtime where they maxed out all the time. So they was just kicking. Guys, ⁓ y'all gonna let I'm letting y'all know right now this is how y'all know I don't watch soccer. I think they're penalty kicks. They had like five each. speaker-0: Yeah, yeah. speaker-1: Yeah, and ⁓ yo, people were tapped in, like the whole gym was just like stopped working out and they were watching it. You know what I mean? I was going for Columbia, obviously. ⁓ you know, I got some family that are Colombians. I was going for Columbia, but man, that was that was pretty cool to watch. Soccer can be exciting. ⁓ I will say that the World Cup has been been pretty cool. ⁓ but guys, ⁓ we thank y'all for tapping in. Look, y'all got for those that have been telling me, talk about soccer. speaker-0: We've been seen it in our YouTube, in the TikToks. People been asking for it. speaker-1: Soccer, talk about soccer. Well, you know what? You got probably the one time we're gonna talk about soccer. Maybe we might cover soccer next. Maybe we might talk about it depending on how the matchups go. But I know that ⁓ all the games are gonna be during the week and the weekends and stuff like that. So be safe, y'all, as you're watching these games. ⁓ you know, do everything responsibly. I got a big pickleball matchup on Sunday, so I'm gonna be getting ready for that. speaker-0: Another week. speaker-1: I you know, we gotta get the rematch with the YNs. The YNs got us in a couple dubs the last time. So pickleball. I'm back at it this Sunday. You already know the vibes, y'all. So I'm coming with some more dubs next week.
