- 0:03Alan Carroll: Welcome back, everybody, to the mindful, new
- 0:07podcast, where we go to the gymnasium of mindfulness. And we
- 0:13hear the various practices and exercises and wisdom from people
- 0:19who are journeying down the mindfulness path. And today our
- 0:27guest is Karina curry. Karina emigrated from Brazil when she
- 0:35was 18 years old, came to the United States to discover the
- 0:42magic and the splendor and the wonders of this great America
- 0:47that she envisioned in our mind. And when she arrived, she
- 0:51discovered that it wasn't quite the way that she thought it was
- 0:54going to be. So she experienced over the years bouts of
- 1:01depression, not well being, which she got involved in
- 1:07holistic studies, and began to spend more time in the holistic
- 1:12world and began through holistic practices, beginning to heal and
- 1:17balance the energies in her body. She describes herself as
- 1:23an holistic life coach. And she gets into a definition of whole
- 1:30holistic, what it means she wrote a great book. And the
- 1:36title of it is awakening the, the journey from medication, to
- 1:46meditation, thinking about the pharmaceutical companies and how
- 1:50they want to solve problems with pharmaceutical products, as well
- 1:55as the holistic approach, where you use the more natural kind of
- 2:00solutions in order to stabilize the energy. So she had lots of
- 2:05wonderful things to share. Lots of great energy, lots of
- 2:08enthusiasm, lots of authenticity. Just very
- 2:12comfortable having a conversation with Karina and I
- 2:16know that you will enjoy listening to her, sing her song,
- 2:21sing her song of mindfulness. So please welcome Karina curry, to
- 2:26the mindful you podcast. Well, please welcome Karina to the
- 2:35mindful you podcast. Thank you very much for being with us
- 2:38today. Karina,
- 2:39Karina Cury: thank you for having me, Ellen.
- 2:42Alan Carroll: I was reading about your background, your
- 2:46journey that you've been on your entire life that's led you
- 2:51definitely down a spiritual path. And one of the words that
- 2:56you use a lot in terms of your description is the holistic
- 3:01conversation. And I think it's important for our audience to
- 3:07have someone like yourself, let's go into the holistic, the
- 3:13meaning of holistic, so at least we understand what the meaning
- 3:17of a holistic is. And then for fun, also just your journey that
- 3:22got you into that holistic tillow Whoa, that can't quite
- 3:26say what I want to say, into that holistic conversation. So
- 3:30let's just go for a little bit of the history and then a little
- 3:33understanding of the holistic conversation which tising
- 3:36clearly to mindfulness, okay,
- 3:40Unknown: holistic, the word mean means whole rate. And the whole
- 3:45means Madi, baton, body, mind, body, and spirit connection.
- 3:50Because we're not just this matter, this matter is the
- 3:53vessel that carries your soul. So
- 3:56Alan Carroll: the physical body is, is the vessel that carries
- 4:00the spirit or the soul. And so there's the physical component
- 4:04of our reality. And
- 4:06Unknown: we need it we need this matter. And when you were
- 4:08talking about the ego earlier, you need that ego you need all
- 4:11these things to be here in this earth, you know, to have this
- 4:15human experience because our soul our spirit is energy and it
- 4:21doesn't and has no beginning or no end, it'll continue on. It
- 4:25will take a different form when we leave this earth but it's
- 4:29it's there's no end to it, right? So we're here to
- 4:32experience this life, pain, sorrow, happiness, everything
- 4:39that it comes with humanity. So for you on your journey, you
- 4:46know, it's it's a learning experience here in this earth.
- 4:50And you go through trials and tribulations right and to learn
- 4:55the word the mind comes on is to learn to deal with the things
- 4:59that we You have to do in this human body, you know, diseases,
- 5:04pains, losing people, you know, the pain of sorrow. So, if
- 5:12they're, if you're not in connection with everything is in
- 5:17connection, whatever goes on in your mind, it retaliates into
- 5:23your body, and that's when the body gets sick, right? Because I
- 5:27believe that all sickness has to do with trauma, childhood, PTSD,
- 5:35anything that we endure in life, we don't if you don't heal, and
- 5:40that's when diseases appear in the body. So if you're not
- 5:43connected mind, body, and spirit. And that's when those
- 5:47things start to happening. I immigrated here from Brazil, I
- 5:51was 18 years old, I wanted to be a horse trainer. And I had, you
- 5:57know, a tough childhood. I wanted to escape Brazil. And so
- 6:02I came here with all these dreams of, you know, having a
- 6:07better life, being able to do what a woman and be into
- 6:10whatever I want to be a horse trainer for one, two. That's
- 6:13Alan Carroll: right, this is America.
- 6:14Unknown: Exactly. So, um, things didn't turn out the way you
- 6:20know, I envision I, you know, you go through life, you meet a
- 6:24lot of different people. And they're all have their own path,
- 6:28their own journey they're on. And I'm not necessarily saying
- 6:32that people that I met were bad, they were going through their
- 6:35own learning experiences, right. And I think sometimes we feel
- 6:41we're not connected, we also hurt people. Because we are
- 6:44hurting hurt people hurt people. So going through these things,
- 6:48and then to the fact that I was not myself, I didn't have the
- 6:51knowledge that I have today. So I went through a lot of
- 6:54suffering. That suffering down led me to the path of
- 6:59depression. And I was I went through a really tough divorce,
- 7:04I had two children, two small children, no money, no
- 7:06connections, no family, and I felt really lost. And I, my
- 7:12friends were like, Okay, you got to do something. So at the time,
- 7:15they're like, Okay, I know the psychiatrists, you're gonna go
- 7:20blah, blah, blah. My, I have a huge problem now, with the
- 7:25knowledge that I have with pharmaceutical companies. I
- 7:29believe that they like to enslave people into, you know,
- 7:32into medication. So you go in, and you meet with your
- 7:36psychiatrist to give you 30 minutes of her time, and, you
- 7:40know, $300 a consult and you're, you tell her what's going on in
- 7:45her life. She's like, Okay, you're depressed. So I'm going
- 7:48to prescribe you medication. Well, then come back in two
- 7:51weeks, we'll talk about more well, then you come over there.
- 7:53And you know, she spends 15 minutes here listening to what
- 7:57you have to say she's like, Okay, well guess is, we're going
- 7:59to up your dose, and then they up your dose. And now I have, I
- 8:04can't sleep, I'm taking this medication, the highest dose of
- 8:07this medication, I can sleep, okay, we're gonna give you a
- 8:09different medication now that you take before you go to bed.
- 8:12So you can sleep. Well, now I'm having these anxiety attacks,
- 8:16right, every time I have to go to work. So let's let me put you
- 8:20on another medication. Sure. Yeah, so and pharmaceutical
- 8:25companies, they want that they want you to stay on all these
- 8:27medications for the rest of your life. And those doctors are not
- 8:30telling people what the side effects are to this medications
- 8:34they are they're just like solving that problem. Right now.
- 8:37They're masking that they're not solving the problem. They're
- 8:39masking the problem, right? Because I need healing. I need
- 8:42like deep rooted healing. And so for 10 years, I'm on this
- 8:49medication until my mother passed away and I was really and
- 8:55she always talked about just like how you you know, you need
- 8:57to do more holistic stuff, and you know, I don't believe in
- 9:01medication, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, yeah, when she passed
- 9:05away, you know, the synchronicities of the universe.
- 9:08This coach, this holistic life coach, kinda like that I've been
- 9:12following for a while, I decided to give her a call and set up an
- 9:16appointment. And so I've been on this path of healing now for
- 9:21four years and I was able to get off medication. My doctor didn't
- 9:25want me to get off but I was able to get off medication using
- 9:28my own protocol, like my own research and everything. You
- 9:32know, people really need to realize they need to take charge
- 9:35of their health, their life, you know, you are in charge of your
- 9:39life and your happiness and you know, you only you can change
- 9:44things and make things better for yourself. So, I took charge
- 9:49and i She changed my life. I was so impressed with with the work
- 9:56she was doing with me and everybody else and I started
- 9:58going through all these retreats for To retreats, and I decided
- 10:02to become a coach myself because I wanted to do that for people I
- 10:05wanted to pay forward. I wrote a book. And I tell people, my, my,
- 10:10my journey and how I was able to get off medication.
- 10:15Alan Carroll: I love the title of the book, go tell tell the
- 10:16audience the title, it was a great title.
- 10:18Unknown: Yeah, awakening a journey from medication to
- 10:21meditation.
- 10:22Alan Carroll: Yeah, that's a that's a sweet way of you know,
- 10:24it's almost the same word. Yeah, exactly, almost the same word.
- 10:29Unknown: So go on. So through meditation and a lot of reading
- 10:35and researching and deep diving into spirituality, I, in some
- 10:42plant medicine as well, I was able to change my life, and I'm
- 10:48the happiest I've ever been, I take zero medication. I only
- 10:52take supplements, I am and I meditate every day, sometimes
- 10:57two hours a day, I live a very holistic life, I also take care
- 11:02of my vessel and on my body, I eat healthy exercise, because
- 11:06it's not just meditating, right is the whole process of things,
- 11:10you have to take care of everything, mind, body, and
- 11:13spirit. Because there's a connection there. And if one
- 11:18part is not working well, then everything is out of balance.
- 11:23Alan Carroll: The I find that the the you mentioned the
- 11:30sources of disease. I'm currently thinking that based on
- 11:37the people that I hear and talk to on YouTube 99% of the
- 11:43physical issues that are happening in the physical body
- 11:47are caused by imbalances, and the or the inability, not even
- 11:52the imbalances, the inability to balance the thoughts that you
- 11:57are thinking inside your head. And, and the ability to meditate
- 12:04is a a vehicle that you can use to become better management of
- 12:12the thoughts that you that are that are blowing up all the time
- 12:18and in your consciousness. So let's, let's talk a little bit
- 12:21about the meditation piece and the value of meditation in the
- 12:26as a as a tool to use in the holistic path.
- 12:32Unknown: So change your thoughts change your life, right? Your
- 12:35thoughts are very powerful. Matter of fact, if I sit here
- 12:38and talk to you about a lemon, and I said, Imagine the lemon
- 12:43you put in the lemon, your mouth, you start salivating.
- 12:46Right? That's how powerful your mind is. There's no lemon around
- 12:51here. I've been just talking to you. I've started salivating.
- 12:53Right? Right? Imagine being able to being able to do that with
- 12:58your with everything. But we are so because we are so programmed
- 13:04from childhood, to think a certain way to do a certain way
- 13:07by our parents, by our teachers, I mean education here, you know,
- 13:11they're not teaching us anything, and our education is
- 13:14terrible. I mean, we need to go back 1000s of years to take from
- 13:19the you need to teach the children to think for themselves
- 13:23to be in charge, the teachers shouldn't have a reverse whole
- 13:26row with the kid. And they shouldn't be teaching the
- 13:29teacher. That's how they shouldn't be playing around.
- 13:32Because we're, we're just training people here. And so
- 13:36we're trained their mind not to be free. And so we're always
- 13:42worrying about the past or worrying about the future. We're
- 13:45not living the present. And that's a problem. If you're not
- 13:49because the past doesn't belong to you anymore. Everything that
- 13:52you've done back there is like a foreign country. You don't live
- 13:55there. You know, in the future. I remember
- 13:58Alan Carroll: I remember all those things that happened to me
- 14:00in the past, you better believe and I'm not going to forgive
- 14:02those people either. For all the things they've done for me, I
- 14:05got to keep my past there. I'm not going to let it go. Oh, no,
- 14:08no, no. Exactly.
- 14:10Unknown: And people like that can never free themselves. And
- 14:14that's anger turns your starts turning to disease. Right
- 14:20Alan Carroll: anger the anger right the resentment and the
- 14:23anger you have towards things in the past. Eat away at you. Yes.
- 14:27Suck up your your lifeforce, you're using your your resources
- 14:32to fight a battle that is a bunch of windmills. It's not
- 14:36real, but you spend your life defending and arguing and things
- 14:41that happen in the past. And
- 14:43Unknown: that's why I no longer watch TV. I don't longer watch
- 14:46movies that are not uplifting or anything like that, or podcasts
- 14:50or and uplifting everything that I do because the mind is so
- 14:52subjective. And even those people have been thought those
- 14:56thoughts are not yours or not theirs has been given to them.
- 15:00Okay, bye dog by the the system that was created created to to
- 15:08this empower people. So the all these thoughts and things that
- 15:11we're giving are very disempowering. And when people
- 15:14realize that they're very powerful and everything they
- 15:16need within, then the we can change the world, but we lost
- 15:21the connection, right? We lost that spiritual connection with
- 15:25mother nature with everything that's with God, because what is
- 15:28God God is every living thing that is here on Earth is not
- 15:33like being in heaven, you know, judging people, or that people
- 15:38should be fearful of it. No, you are God, God's within you. So,
- 15:45you. So when people realize that, that you are all powerful,
- 15:50they can change, but it takes work. And meditation is a really
- 15:54good way to do it. And I tell my clients, I'm like, start slow.
- 15:59And people have this idea that meditation is something you
- 16:04have, you cannot think of anything, you just have to sit
- 16:06there and your mind has to be blank. No, it's not. Because
- 16:08your mind is never going to be blank, right? It's always going
- 16:11on, you just the thoughts will come. And you acknowledge them,
- 16:16and you move on, right? Acknowledge the thought, and you
- 16:19move on. And I always tell people start slow. Everything is
- 16:22practice. I mean, Jimi Hendrix did not was not born with a
- 16:26bullish guitar, you know, or any map anybody to master anything
- 16:31is because they practice. So everything takes practice. And I
- 16:34ended the power of small steps, five minutes a day. That's how I
- 16:38started my coach inspired and empowered me to write my book,
- 16:42because I always talked about writing a book, and she goes,
- 16:44open your computer, 10 minutes a day, write one phrase, whatever,
- 16:49one paragraph, and then that one paragraph every day turn into,
- 16:55you know, a chapter every day. So it's the power of small
- 17:00steps, and people don't realize that take five minutes, instead
- 17:04of like, staring at this black hole, that's your phone, you
- 17:08know, or watch how people are living their lives. Why don't
- 17:12you think about how you can live your life better. And just five
- 17:17minutes, start with a guided meditation, you know, do deep
- 17:21breath work, you know, there's tons of videos on YouTube, of
- 17:24guided meditations and breath work, and start your day like
- 17:28that. Were like, the powerful of gratitude. And I remember when
- 17:32my coach used to tell me that, and I was like, Man, I can't
- 17:37think of one thing that I'm grateful for. But then as you
- 17:39start thinking, it was like, wait, I have everything that I
- 17:43need. But it took me a while to realize that, but it's like I
- 17:47would, I would say three things that I was grateful every day
- 17:51that I would just dig down deep. You know, I'm grateful that I
- 17:54woke up this morning, you know, I grateful that I can go to my
- 17:59kitchen I have food to eat, you know, and just like small
- 18:02things, and now it's part of my daily routine. You know, I wake
- 18:06up I do my gratitude, my affirmations I do my meditation
- 18:11and if I like I just went on a little vacation and you know I
- 18:14was with was a girl strip and you were like always busy and
- 18:18added man, it was so weird non be able to have my routine every
- 18:21day, you know, I felt totally discombobulated. Not being able
- 18:25to that to do that, you know, but it's very powerful. And it's
- 18:30just you do it all you need 30 days, 30 days to to create a
- 18:35good habit.
- 18:37Alan Carroll: I'm I believe everything you're saying is
- 18:39absolutely the truth. The two there's something about
- 18:46meditation, or something about mindfulness, any any vehicle
- 18:51that you can use, to taste to taste the, the nectar, of the
- 18:58space of mind of mindfulness of I often use the word, stillness,
- 19:05pockets of stillness. Meditation is closing the eyes. And
- 19:11immediately if you close your eyes, you've eliminated a huge
- 19:15amount of, of chaos, which is causing the the leaves to stir
- 19:22up in your mind. Those leaves the thoughts. And so what I
- 19:28thought it'd be fun, if you would, is take us on a little
- 19:32guided meditation, using breath work or whatever technique you'd
- 19:38like to use for a couple of minutes so we can we can try to
- 19:41taste the nectar of Your wisdom with our physical body.
- 19:45Unknown: You want me to guide you in a medication? Yeah, I'd
- 19:47Alan Carroll: like that. Okay, yeah. I'm gonna close my eyes.
- 19:51Because I want to you know, get the chaos stuff gone. So that's
- 19:54so
- 19:54Unknown: yeah, close your eyes if you feel like in Yeah. And
- 19:58take a deep breath. In and fill your belly like a baby you know
- 20:04when a baby breathe, and you see his, the belly gets really full
- 20:08and hold it there for a couple seconds and release it and take
- 20:20a deep breath in. Again, fill your belly
- 20:27hold it and release. Now imagine a light and very white bright
- 20:42light coming from above.
- 20:48And is going in into your head and is coming down through your
- 20:59neck, it's engulfing your heart. Your belly is going through you
- 21:09all the way through Mother Earth, all the way to the center
- 21:15of Earth. This white bright light has been cleansed. Mother
- 21:25Earth is taking everything that does not serve you anymore. And
- 21:31is transmuting into unconditional love. Now imagine
- 21:39the light coming back through you again. Going up your spine
- 21:52through your heart, and your throat and your brain and all
- 22:00the way up the sky. And this light is just bring you love
- 22:12forgiveness, acceptance, self love, self care and you feel in
- 22:26the cells of your body the healing power of this white,
- 22:33bright light and now feel the light expanding out of your body
- 22:46creating a bright white bubble and you're inside this bubble
- 22:56and this light and makes you safe. It makes you warm. Makes
- 23:05you feel the love of the universe and makes you know that
- 23:12everything in this earth is for you. It makes you feel powerful.
- 23:28Makes you feel like you can conquer anything. You feel brave
- 23:40take a deep breath in and soak all the love into the cells of
- 23:48your body. Feel your body being healed by the powerful bright
- 24:00love that this light is bringing into your life
- 24:10and when you're ready you can gently open your eyes
- 24:28Alan Carroll: that's a guided meditation. Powerful, so people
- 24:33who want to meditate well you just experienced meditation. And
- 24:38what were some of the experiences that you experience
- 24:42when you do meditation.
- 24:45Unknown: Like my body feels like it's like everything that you
- 24:51heard I feel in my body I feel the cells of my body connecting
- 24:55to this powerful love light that that the Creator gives us you
- 25:01know that everything we have, we need everything we need we have.
- 25:05And I feel all powerful and I feel like I'm enough. And I feel
- 25:11I feel cared for, you know, I feel the oneness with the
- 25:18universe. You know, because we're all part I call it we are
- 25:22God equals we're all particles of God.
- 25:26Alan Carroll: Gotta goals you call them.
- 25:27Unknown: Yeah, we're all particles, yes for God because
- 25:30we're particles of particles of God. And that's what we are we
- 25:33just need to know how to connect and feel where we are, you know,
- 25:38because like I said, we lost the connection, we lost the
- 25:41connection with everything with nature, we're so caught up in
- 25:45this materialistic world, you know, let's watch when you watch
- 25:49TV, they're all offering a new thing and you feel like you're
- 25:53needed and here if you feel sad, take this drug and it'll make
- 25:57you feel better you know, and like I said, our minds so
- 26:01subjective, that we we think we need all these things. These are
- 26:05things that are out there in the world to feel better we don't
- 26:10everything we we need to feel better. It's the love and
- 26:14connection of the universe, with God with creator with source
- 26:18with spirit, whatever you want to call you know.
- 26:22Alan Carroll: I when we're talking about the God we all are
- 26:28sons and daughters of God, the mind is going to say Karina,
- 26:36what are you smoking some smoky to wacky tobacco? Come on,
- 26:39you're not a God, your your, your lady from Brazil, come wake
- 26:43wake up, wake up your God is that you got you got some big
- 26:46ego, I tell you. And so then to navigate through that, is if
- 26:54it's like doing research, I don't know, oh, my God or not
- 26:58God, been if I am a God, what would God do? What would God
- 27:04say? If I was a god? What would God do? Well, God would be a lot
- 27:12nicer. Yes, God would be a lot more compassionate.
- 27:17Unknown: And God said, When you see someone that's doing
- 27:21something that may make, may may make you feel not as happy, have
- 27:28compassion over the person, you don't know what the person is
- 27:30going through why they're acting like that. Because you don't
- 27:33know what you don't know. And when you gain this knowledge
- 27:35that you are God, you start seeing people with a lot more
- 27:38compassion. And that's when I understood that was all that
- 27:45when I start seeing people with different eyes, now I see people
- 27:48I have compassion over them. And I think, wow, you know, that
- 27:53person must have a tough time. And you know, and but I would
- 28:00like to go to towards that person and offer them some love,
- 28:05but everybody has to find in their, their own path and their
- 28:08own time, you know, and it took me I'm 48 now it took me 44
- 28:13years to find. So I think everybody is born with the
- 28:19knowledge but we lose it somehow. Right? But somehow in
- 28:23sometimes you have to hit in my case, hit rock bottom at to
- 28:28realize I got to do something, I got to do things differently.
- 28:32And then you start to look for deeper connections, you know,
- 28:37deeper things in life, and realize that material things
- 28:41don't bring you happiness, they never did. I mean, I see so many
- 28:44people that are so abundance financially, but they lack
- 28:50abundance and everything else. Right? So it's finding that
- 28:55abundance, realizing that abundance is if you have what
- 29:00you need, you have abundance and being happy, I mean are saying
- 29:04you can want things of course you can, you know, we're humans,
- 29:09but realizing that what do you do with that abundance? You
- 29:13know, how, how do you use that abundance. And that's, I love
- 29:20when I see people who were naturally generous with their
- 29:24abundance, and it's amazing. So you know, it takes time and it
- 29:29takes practice but if I can do it, anybody can do it. Believe
- 29:33me, if you saw me 10 years ago, I was a holy mass. So and when
- 29:41you when you when your energy is not aligned, you know you you
- 29:45attract people that are in the same energy as you are. So as
- 29:49attracting people like me at the time, so everybody that I had in
- 29:55my life was a holy mess. Once you're change that then you
- 30:01start attracting people that are in alignment with you. And it's,
- 30:05it's great. Although I love my friends now, I always loved my
- 30:11friends. But now we're connecting on a deeper level,
- 30:15you know, we have so much understanding and love and
- 30:19compassion for each other and for the world, there's no
- 30:23judgment. And that is a powerful thing to become non judgmental.
- 30:28And it's like I said, it took me a long time, but there's hope
- 30:32for everyone.
- 30:34Alan Carroll: non judgmental, is has to be one of the pillars of
- 30:39mindfulness to define voice mindfulness. Well, mindfulness
- 30:44is a space in consciousness in which you watch the show, but
- 30:49you don't judge the show. And, and that's a that's a everybody,
- 30:55everybody has to has a show. They watch in the outer world,
- 30:58they wake up, they plug their five senses into the world, and
- 31:01boom, I'm in the movie. But everybody is judging everything
- 31:06they're seeing coming from I know. You don't need to tell me.
- 31:10I know, I know. Yeah, I know. I know. Yeah. Yeah. I know. I
- 31:13know. I Weiwei shutter. Let me tell you I know, I know,
- 31:16everybody has this immediate I know, into the world, which,
- 31:21which keeps things pretty much solidified. There's no There's
- 31:25no fluidity to I know, there's no opportunity to create
- 31:30something new if I, if I know. So. So you mentioned earlier
- 31:35about? Well, the opposite to I know, would be? I don't know.
- 31:42And so talk a little bit about the power of I don't know.
- 31:46Unknown: So I think that a lot of people act like that, because
- 31:50one of the things that really hold us back, I think one of the
- 31:54biggest problems we have in that has been an input in our, in our
- 31:59brains, you know, there was not, it didn't, I didn't think it was
- 32:04given to me. It's fear. Fear is what holds people back. And
- 32:11fear. When people don't know they, they, they they act like
- 32:20that. Because the fear of something, whatever it is,
- 32:23right? The fear of being judged, the fear of being laughed at the
- 32:28fear of
- 32:30Alan Carroll: making a mistake, I want to make a mistake.
- 32:33Exactly. Don't make mistake, don't do anything. You don't
- 32:36want to make a mistake. Exactly.
- 32:38Unknown: But that is what I'm talking about. When I talked
- 32:41about how we teach kids, you know, you got to teach them that
- 32:46failure is okay. And that's how you learn. You know, there's
- 32:52power, there's power, and I don't even like to say use the
- 32:56word failure because it's never is failure, but the power of
- 32:59making mistakes, that's how you learn. You have to make mistakes
- 33:04to learn. So people should not fear those things, but how to
- 33:08get rid of fear, right? Because every now and then fear pops up
- 33:11and, and is the ego, right? The ego, the biggest his biggest
- 33:15fear is to die. And so there's always that, you know, you have
- 33:22to learn to control the ego. And sometimes I have a full
- 33:26conversation with him, you know, it was my ego, I go, Dude,
- 33:30you're not dying, calm down. It's okay, we're gonna live you
- 33:36know, or fear. One of the biggest fears that people have
- 33:39is fear of lack of abundance, they people are scared of being
- 33:43poor, people are scared of not having things that's why people
- 33:48don't take chances, don't go try a new job, they stay unhappy on
- 33:54that job that they're at, because their fear of not having
- 33:57money. And all these thoughts were given to us by our parents,
- 34:01by church by, you know, religious institutions by the
- 34:05government, you know, all these things that you watch on TV or
- 34:09your parent, you know, like, think about the our parents, you
- 34:12know, they came from that generation of posts. We're we're
- 34:17we're to eat everything on your plate because we don't know when
- 34:20we're gonna have food and you know, again, well that messes
- 34:23with people's head stays. For example, I had this thought that
- 34:29I was not smart. And it was given to me by my mother for
- 34:33things she didn't know judgment here. She didn't know what she
- 34:36was doing. She got married at 18 years old and you know, whole
- 34:39story there. But I remember sitting down and doing some math
- 34:44work and I you know, there was like, okay, little Johnny has
- 34:48two apples in any gives one apple two, you know, and I just
- 34:53could not get that. Understand that problem. And she said, My
- 34:58gosh, you're just nuts. Mario Are you that until I was able to
- 35:07heal that heart, seven year old that was not smart. I couldn't,
- 35:12that that's why this book is so it was so powerful to write this
- 35:16book because I used to think I was not smart enough to write a
- 35:18book. And so to overcome that, that thoughts, you know, and
- 35:23that fear and all these childhood traumas. And so all
- 35:27these thoughts were given to us, and we got to get rid of them,
- 35:30you know. And there's, it, like I said, is not simple. It takes
- 35:37work, but it's doable, because if I, like I said, I can do it,
- 35:40anybody can do it. But just sometimes you just have to have
- 35:43a conversation. Is this really true? Am I not smart? No, that's
- 35:48not true. I'm smart. You know, look, all the things that
- 35:52overcome in my life, you know, so I have, you know, I have
- 35:57several conversations a day sometimes with the, with my ego
- 36:01is this is this true? What's not true, be quiet. I'm smart,
- 36:08dammit.
- 36:11Alan Carroll: That's really true. The the the, there's a
- 36:13psychological philosophy called psycho synthesis, where they say
- 36:20that you have to use the metaphor of the orchestra, and
- 36:24the conductor. And the individual instruments are not
- 36:27playing together. They're each playing their own tune, the
- 36:31radical, the liberal, the aggressive, the non aggressive,
- 36:34the Mother, the Father, the daughter, that he played
- 36:36different roles, depending on the situation. And so the
- 36:39radical argues with the liberal, the liberal with the Republican
- 36:42or whatever it is, these battles that go on. And they say that
- 36:46what you do is you imagine yourself in the movie theater,
- 36:49sitting in the movie theater with a bag of popcorn and your
- 36:52favorite drink, and you're watching The you create an image
- 36:57for the character of Karina the, the the radical? And what's the
- 37:03radical gonna look like? What are the needs of the radical
- 37:06part of you, the the hippie, or whatever that radical part is.
- 37:10And then you have the conservative part, what does
- 37:13that part look like, then you have them up on stage, and then
- 37:16they start to talk to each other. And as they begin to talk
- 37:20about the needs, I have this need, I have this need, I have
- 37:22this need, I have that. And pretty soon they begin to
- 37:25synthesize, and they call a synthesis. And so then the now
- 37:29there's two instruments to play together, then you get two more,
- 37:32then pretty soon the conductor, which is the higher self, is
- 37:35able to get all the instruments to play the music together. And
- 37:39so when you talk about talking to each other, that that already
- 37:44means that you have dis identified from something, and
- 37:48that you're able to have a conversation with something
- 37:50inside of you that before was you. Now you have a friend
- 37:54called your ego, it pops up and says hi and talks to you. And
- 37:58then you got another part of you, which I'll call the
- 38:00observer, observing the ego, the high that the like the higher
- 38:04self, or the conductor of the orchestra says, Hey, ego, how
- 38:07are you doing today? What do you want? Well, I just gave up here
- 38:09some ice cream, okay, good, then go and go over there. And so now
- 38:12conducting the conversations, but I have to be able to see the
- 38:17different conversations inside of me. When When mindfulness and
- 38:21meditation allows you to create a space. Yes, that allows you to
- 38:26see, and then you no longer react. Yes, you now respond. And
- 38:33there's a world of difference between impulsive controls, and
- 38:38non impulsive controls, reactive and most people without
- 38:42mindfulness and meditation and holistic healing are more
- 38:50reactive. Why no? Wrong? Yes. I immediately will paint the
- 38:56interpretation of what they say me immediately without No, no,
- 38:59no. This is it's like, you got to recognize that the paint is
- 39:06from the past what your mom told you. It's your programming, you
- 39:10got to realize that maybe it's not true mom. Yes,
- 39:13Unknown: exactly. And you have in there's a thought and you
- 39:16attach a feeling to it. What is the thought? What is it that
- 39:20thought cause me and what kind of feeling right? Yeah. And so
- 39:24that's when you when you work on manifestation, you have to have
- 39:28a thought and you have to think about the feeling of their
- 39:32thoughts. So like, for example, you want to heal your body,
- 39:41right? So you think about healing. You have a headache,
- 39:45let's say and you think about that headache is gone and you
- 39:48think about not just the headache is gone, but how would
- 39:51you feel when the headache is gone? So you attach that thought
- 39:54to the feeling and that is very powerful
- 39:59Alan Carroll: knowledge We talked about the feeling and we
- 40:01talked about the lemon in the mouth. Exactly the feeling of
- 40:06anger, righteous anger, that I have about something that
- 40:12happened in the past that I hold on to now that that thoughts
- 40:19that I have, have with have the emotion attacked, attacked
- 40:23attached to it, which then causes me to behave in a certain
- 40:27way based on my thoughts and my emotions, which even know will
- 40:31cause damage.
- 40:33Unknown: There's those called triggers, triggers or triggers.
- 40:36Yes. And so when you have that, that thought and that feeling,
- 40:40and then you're like, if some, somebody says to you something,
- 40:43you know, let's say, somebody said to me, Well, you're stupid.
- 40:46Alan Carroll: Well, they're not stupid, you know?
- 40:49Unknown: You know exactly what take me back to that feeling.
- 40:52When my mother told me, you know, I'm like, stupid, wait,
- 40:56who cares? What that person saying that person does not pay
- 40:59my bills. Like, that's what I tell my children is that person
- 41:01pays your bills, who cares what they're saying. But most
- 41:04Alan Carroll: people can't do that. Most people can't. If I if
- 41:07I say, Karina, you're stupid. What do you mean, I'm stupid. So
- 41:11immediately, there's the automatic defense of the
- 41:15identity. And the fact that you're not able to be sucked
- 41:19into it means that you have transcended to a place of
- 41:24observing that that trigger that you talked about got triggered.
- 41:30And most people get triggered, but they'll know they're
- 41:32triggered. I just know that you're wrong. And I'm right.
- 41:34Yes. But
- 41:35Unknown: is that that powerful that I told you? And that
- 41:39download came to me on a spiritual retreat? Of like
- 41:43seeing people and thinking, Oh, that person's hurt. Yes. Because
- 41:51hurt people hurt people. And nobody is in the right mind. I'm
- 41:55not, we never call somebody stupid or anything, you know. So
- 42:00but maybe back then, when I was really reactive, because I was,
- 42:04so I told you the 10 years ago, 1213 years ago, I was a holy
- 42:08mess. And I was going through a divorce, my ex husband would set
- 42:13me on fire, like anything, he would say, I would just go
- 42:18insane. Like these feelings, you know, take over me and I would
- 42:22be so angry that I made my and that's you know, like, cause it
- 42:27became so became so. So over overcame everything in me that I
- 42:35became the press that I like, no longer. Like I had to get out of
- 42:40bed and put on a happy face for my children. And then I'll take
- 42:42them school and and go back to bed crawl might cry myself to
- 42:45sleep, you know, and it's just like I couldn't, like I I'm a
- 42:49person that I'm like a doer, right, I get things I couldn't
- 42:51figure out how to do things like my brain was just this fog to go
- 42:56over. You know, I just couldn't figure out how to get things
- 42:58done. I would look at things and I would see the dishes and I'm
- 43:01like, I couldn't figure out how to do the dishes like my brain
- 43:06couldn't. It was the most horrifying. It was the most
- 43:09horrific feeling thinking about now like thinking about myself
- 43:12back then. Right? But it was because I was so in such pain,
- 43:18such anger and, and fear, you know, fear and Yoda says fear
- 43:24leads to anger. Anger leads to hate and hate leads to
- 43:27suffering.
- 43:29Alan Carroll: You're just pretty smart. Say that say that again.
- 43:32I like Yoda stuff.
- 43:34Unknown: I did do fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate
- 43:39leads to suffering. So basically, suffering comes from
- 43:47fear.
- 43:50Alan Carroll: Then you ask yourself, fear, fear are things
- 43:54that are a threat to your identity. And if you can begin
- 43:57to disassociate yourself from your identity, then the things
- 44:00that we're fearful are no longer no longer bother you. But in
- 44:04order to do that, you have to forgive that which you have said
- 44:07is bad that you're afraid of and most people can't forgive. And
- 44:11that ties in we do gratefulness, conversation for great
- 44:15gratefulness as a shift of complaining about everything to
- 44:19you know what there's, I could spend my time complaining. And I
- 44:23can spend my time looking at being grateful for being alive
- 44:27or being grateful to be in Americans to be grateful for
- 44:29being having food and a family for being all of a sudden you
- 44:33live in a world of gratitude and gratefulness. And you I like
- 44:38what Eckhart Tolle talks about is what you focus on you give
- 44:41life support to and so not not focus on gratefulness and give
- 44:46life support to gratefulness rather than than get life
- 44:49support to complaints.
- 44:51Unknown: Your your energy goes where your thoughts go. So
- 44:55whatever you think your thoughts go to it, so if it's negative
- 45:00You know, then your energy goes towards negativity. And that's
- 45:03what you have to focus on positivity, you know, always and
- 45:06the unit in when you complain, what is complaining, claiming,
- 45:11you're claiming again. So you when you're saying I, universe,
- 45:16I'm just using this as an example, I hate my body, the
- 45:19universe to say, Oh, she hates her body when she wants to hate
- 45:22her body. So I'm just gonna give her more reasons for her to hate
- 45:25her body. So it continues to give you what you're claiming.
- 45:30So that's why I never ever say anything negative anymore. And
- 45:35when I hear people saying things negative, like, I went to visit
- 45:38a friend, and she's like, Oh, my God, you gain so much weight,
- 45:40and she's talking about her body. And I'm like, going, I'm
- 45:43going, you're beautiful. Oh, my gosh, what are you talking
- 45:45about? But it's like this so hard, because I had one friend,
- 45:51that I would go stop complaining, just You're so
- 45:54beautiful, while you keep saying that. And she said to me, who do
- 45:58you think you are Jesus or something. So I like I need
- 46:02sometimes, you know, you need to be careful how you say to
- 46:04people, because you don't want to come across as Oh, you know,
- 46:07your hair dries green. So, um, it's just to like, plant the
- 46:12seed in the person's mind that just, the more positive in the
- 46:18US, the more you will attract to your life positive things. And
- 46:22so when I see people saying negative things about
- 46:25themselves, it hurts me. And I'm like, No, say that ways, you
- 46:28know, because I used to be that person. And just, and you say so
- 46:33much that you, your brain doesn't know what you're saying
- 46:36is a joke, or you're just saying that you know, it thinks is
- 46:40true. So start believing all the things that you're saying. So
- 46:44whatever you say your brain believes the universe gives to
- 46:47you, you know, it's like it's so don't say it be positive,
- 46:51please. And
- 46:53Alan Carroll: that's under your control. Exactly. But you have
- 46:56to be awake enough to notice that you're you are about to say
- 47:00something and you realize, you know, what, is that what I'm
- 47:04going to say? Is that going to make the flowers grow in the
- 47:07greenhouse, or that can make the flowers die in the greenhouse.
- 47:10And usually, attack thoughts are defending of the ego thoughts
- 47:16cause the flowers to die, whereas loving thoughts and
- 47:19gratitude thoughts make the flowers grow.
- 47:22Unknown: So it actually actually there was a scientific, I read a
- 47:26whole article about that they put different flowers and they
- 47:30would talk to the flowers, different ways, same flower,
- 47:34they plant three seeds, okay, and then one and it was saying
- 47:36You're beautiful, you're growing so beautiful, you're so
- 47:39powerful. And actually the flower grew faster better
- 47:42already. And more beautiful. And it's true if you can do that the
- 47:47powerful word the the power of words with the flower what can
- 47:52you imagine what you can do with your own life
- 47:55Alan Carroll: and your own body
- 47:56Unknown: and your own body? Yeah,
- 47:58Alan Carroll: it was gone
- 48:01Unknown: no every day I said thank you for this beautiful
- 48:04healthy body. Yep, who only wants to eat healthy foods only
- 48:11wants to exercise
- 48:16Alan Carroll: thank you for this healthy body that exercise and
- 48:20my diets probably not as good as yours my my wife each cycle
- 48:24rabbit food she has diets Yes, he is probably the best food and
- 48:29so healthy diet is definitely part of the part of the game. If
- 48:33people wanted to reach out to you Corinne Karina what would be
- 48:38ways that they could reach out and connect with you? So
- 48:41Unknown: my websites the best way because you can book a call
- 48:44with me on my website is www dot Carina dot life is Ka ri na dot
- 48:51life L I F E and we can book a free call and we can see if you

- 49:22enjoyed our conversation. I enjoyed the insights that you
- 49:28shared I, I take I take notes as I say it's like going to school
- 49:32podcasts like I'm going to school. Yes. And I'm going to
- 49:36I'm going to learn things I just didn't know. And you are able to
- 49:40take your your experiences moving towards a similar target
- 49:46that I'm moving towards in my consciousness and you were
- 49:49sharing your experiences intuitively I can get it I can
- 49:53get different form to the experiences, but your ability to
- 49:58with authenticity. no clarity of thought and enthusiasm and No,
- 50:04no, no blockage to the flow of energy was really a pleasure to
- 50:08have you on as a guest on the mind for your podcast. And
- 50:12there's
- 50:12Unknown: Alan, there's no wrong or right way to do it, you know,
- 50:15you do what works for you. If it's two hours of meditation, or
- 50:20if it's five minutes of meditation, whatever works for
- 50:22you, you know, but we'll all gonna get there we will, because
- 50:26we're all working towards the same goal is to move out of 3d
- 50:32to five D. That's my goal. I want out of 3d I want to get to
- 50:37five D. Okay, so let's do it. Chapter. All
- 50:40Alan Carroll: right. And I'll salute that banner. Thank Thank
- 50:44you very much.
- 50:45Unknown: Thank you. Thank you, gratitude. Gratitude
- 50:50Alan Carroll: to you. Bye bye Karina curry.
- 50:53Unknown: I think sellin
