- 1:46Speaker 5: the water the mon a up looking, come.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Come out, you.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Think, huh? I sure will.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, Come on,
- 2:08Speaker 3: dig me now, one.
- 2:09Speaker 2: And only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Here we
- 2:13Speaker 2: go today.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I think I have something for a lot of people today,
- 2:18Speaker 3: at least I hope I do. And this is about
- 2:21Speaker 3: on your journey, And this is about something that happens
- 2:26Speaker 3: to us all. I mean, what happens to all of
- 2:31Speaker 3: us from time to time when we get discouraged. What
- 2:36Speaker 3: happens to all of us when we feel like quitting,
- 2:40Speaker 3: What happens to all of us when we have that
- 2:42Speaker 3: turnback moment, What happens to all of us when it
- 2:47Speaker 3: don't seem like it's going to pan out? Because I
- 2:51Speaker 3: want you to understand something that everyone, every single living soul,
- 2:56Speaker 3: has those thoughts about something at some point in their life.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I mean, you know, Look, I've oftentimes been discouraged about
- 3:07Speaker 3: things not happening as fast as I like them. All
- 3:11Speaker 3: things don't pan out the way I would like for
- 3:14Speaker 3: them to have panned out. I mean, it's so many
- 3:18Speaker 3: ways to get discouraged. But what my encouragement to you
- 3:26Speaker 3: is when discouragement comes is understand this. It is a
- 3:32Speaker 3: part of the growth process. It is a test. It
- 3:39Speaker 3: is a test of your faith. How bad you want it,
- 3:45Speaker 3: do you really believe? That's all faith is is simply,
- 3:51Speaker 3: and I've said this how many times. Faith is the
- 3:55Speaker 3: belief in things that you cannot see. So when discouragement comes,
- 4:00Speaker 3: setbacks comes, it is a test of your faith. At
- 4:04Speaker 3: least it's been that way for me. Now other people
- 4:06Speaker 3: can explain it another way. I'm not other people. I
- 4:09Speaker 3: can only give it to you the way it has
- 4:11Speaker 3: come to me and throughout my life and man or
- 4:14Speaker 3: man or man discouragement sometimes it's tough to deal with
- 4:21Speaker 3: because it seems at times when you were discouraged that
- 4:24Speaker 3: it is so absolute that this means the end, and
- 4:32Speaker 3: if you allow it to set in, it can be
- 4:35Speaker 3: just that the end of you, when merely merely it
- 4:40Speaker 3: was a test, that's all it is. But the majority
- 4:44Speaker 3: of people that I know who are not successful or
- 4:48Speaker 3: who have told me the story of how they gave up,
- 4:51Speaker 3: it was because at a moment of discouragement that they
- 4:56Speaker 3: allowed it to set in and it became so engulfing
- 5:02Speaker 3: that it became the reason why you shouldn't finish. And
- 5:05Speaker 3: then they started justifying it with hitt one that I
- 5:08Speaker 3: hate to hear. Well, if it's God's will, excuse me.
- 5:13Speaker 3: If it's God's will that you fail. If it's God's
- 5:18Speaker 3: will that you're not successful, If it's God's will that
- 5:23Speaker 3: you lay down and give up, it's God's will that
- 5:27Speaker 3: you allow yourself to amount to, not to not reach
- 5:31Speaker 3: your potential, that's God's will. That's not the God I know.
- 5:38Speaker 3: That's not the God I served. That's not the God
- 5:40Speaker 3: I've read about. That's not the God I believe in.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I just my mother always taught me something
- 5:47Speaker 3: that he didn't bring me this far to leave me.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I just don't believe that, not for a second.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Now.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Have I convinced myself for some things, yep?
- 6:00Speaker 3: Have I allowed the devil to come into the picture
- 6:02Speaker 3: and paint a different one from it?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Yep? Yep? I've done all of that, but you can't
- 6:09Speaker 2: blame that on God. Now, come on, So.
- 6:14Speaker 3: When discouragement comes, try to look at it if you can,
- 6:19Speaker 3: as a test of your faith, and you merely have
- 6:23Speaker 3: to pass the test. It could be for a day,
- 6:26Speaker 3: a half a day, a few hours, a week, a
- 6:29Speaker 3: few weeks, it don't matter. Don't nobody know how long
- 6:32Speaker 3: the test period is. Your job is to keep the
- 6:35Speaker 3: faith and keep moving. Keep the faith and keep moving,
- 6:40Speaker 3: keep working, keep believing, keep hope alive.
- 6:44Speaker 2: That's your job.
- 6:46Speaker 3: If you do that, that's how you pass the test.
- 6:50Speaker 3: It could be over tomorrow, it could be over in
- 6:52Speaker 3: two weeks, it could be over in a month.
- 6:54Speaker 2: You don't know.
- 6:55Speaker 3: But all you got to do is wake up and
- 6:57Speaker 3: keep the faith and fight the discourage feelings.
- 7:00Speaker 2: And how do you do that? Steve? Now here we go.
- 7:03Speaker 3: This is the part I know about for show because
- 7:06Speaker 3: how many times I've had to fight off discouragement in
- 7:10Speaker 3: order to get to where God wanted me to be.
- 7:14Speaker 2: What do you do when you become discouraged? Well, I
- 7:19Speaker 2: think of the outcome.
- 7:21Speaker 3: When I get discouraged about a task, I think about
- 7:25Speaker 3: the outcome. Man, what would it be like if I
- 7:28Speaker 3: were to complete the task. What would it be like?
- 7:31Speaker 2: Man?
- 7:31Speaker 3: What would the outcome be for me if I hung
- 7:34Speaker 3: loan in there? If I didn't give up. If I imagine,
- 7:40Speaker 3: I imagine if I don't quit.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I imagine if I don't.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Give up, what would it be like? Man, Suppose everything
- 7:50Speaker 3: I'm hoping for comes true. But if I don't quit
- 7:53Speaker 3: and give up, that might just be the case. I
- 7:56Speaker 3: start talking to myself like that, I think of what
- 8:01Speaker 3: the upside is.
- 8:03Speaker 2: What's the upside to stay in with it? You see,
- 8:06Speaker 2: all this is the same thing. I'm just giving you
- 8:08Speaker 2: different ways to look at it. I'm saying the exact
- 8:11Speaker 2: same thing over and over. But I'm just trying to
- 8:13Speaker 2: find the switch that connects in your mind where you
- 8:16Speaker 2: can say, Okay, man, I'm gonna hang in there. Because
- 8:19Speaker 2: if you think of the outcome and the outcome is
- 8:22Speaker 2: appealing to you, if you imagine what it would be
- 8:25Speaker 2: like if you don't give up or you don't quit.
- 8:28Speaker 3: If you think only of what the upside is to
- 8:32Speaker 3: stay in with it, And then I go, where can
- 8:37Speaker 3: this lead to? If I stay with it, man, and
- 8:40Speaker 3: the outcome comes true? What else could that lead me to?
- 8:45Speaker 3: Because I mean there's always more to it. So where
- 8:49Speaker 3: else could this lead me to? What are the possibilities?
- 8:53Speaker 2: Man?
- 8:54Speaker 3: What are the limitless possibilities? What could God possibly have
- 8:59Speaker 3: in me? If I just hang in there, if I
- 9:02Speaker 3: pass this test of faith? If I just pass this test? Now,
- 9:07Speaker 3: it ain't gonna be the only one. But you gotta
- 9:09Speaker 3: get past this one. No, then you gonna hear the
- 9:12Speaker 3: smooth plane. Then it's gonna be another one. It's gonna
- 9:15Speaker 3: be another one. Life ain't nothing but a series of tests. Man. Man,
- 9:21Speaker 3: when you're thinking about giving up, when you're discouraged, think
- 9:25Speaker 3: of the outcome. Imagine what it would be like if
- 9:28Speaker 3: you don't quit, if you don't give up. What's the
- 9:31Speaker 3: upside to staying with it? Where can this all lead to?
- 9:35Speaker 3: What can this get you to? If you do this
- 9:39Speaker 3: and you get to where you think you want to be?
- 9:41Speaker 3: Oh my god, what's after that? What are the limitless
- 9:46Speaker 3: and endless possibilities of holding on to your faith?
- 9:50Speaker 2: What could really be out there for me? Man?
- 9:53Speaker 3: If I just pass this test, you gotta talk yourself
- 9:56Speaker 3: into hanging in there.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You're listening.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Morning show, ladies and gentlemen.
- 10:04Speaker 3: The time is here. It's a new day. Another blessing,
- 10:07Speaker 3: another gift from God. That's why they call it to president,
- 10:10Speaker 3: because it's a gift. Man.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah it is.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Steve Harvey Morning Show starts like this all the time.
- 10:16Speaker 3: I just want to be a constant reminded, not only
- 10:18Speaker 3: to y'all but to myself. Man, don't get this thing twisted.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Do not get this thing twisted. This ain't nothing but
- 10:26Speaker 3: a blessing man waking up every day being a part
- 10:29Speaker 3: of it. This is Steve Harvey Morning Show. Shirley Strawberry

- 11:14Speaker 7: want they well, I don't know if they want to

- 11:20Speaker 2: but that baby ain't gonna.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Know where he at. Let me tell you what you
- 11:24Speaker 3: can be better off doing. You can go better off
- 11:26Speaker 3: just go by a set of Legos and put him
- 11:29Speaker 3: in front of him, and just about how long he
- 11:32Speaker 3: gonna care when he gets at Lego Land. Yeah, okay,
- 11:37Speaker 3: I bought my grandson. Now, he's actually very talented, so
- 11:41Speaker 3: let me stop. Because this little dude man is above
- 11:44Speaker 3: way above average. I bought him a Lego Land set

- 12:02Speaker 3: to adult ages. I figured I buy him this. I
- 12:06Speaker 3: ain't got to talk with him for a year.
- 12:07Speaker 1: You know, because a year could he goes?
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, busna him occupied.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Three days later he called me, he said, Papa finished,
- 12:17Speaker 3: And I said, that's right.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I go over to the house. I promise you.
- 12:20Speaker 3: This little boy had built that entire battleship in three days.
- 12:26Speaker 8: Wow.
- 12:27Speaker 3: His parents had to make him go to sleep at night.
- 12:30Speaker 3: He just set up with that. And then I asked him.
- 12:33Speaker 3: I said, no, what do you do? You read the instructions?
- 12:36Speaker 3: He said, yeah, Papa.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Said engineer at eight.
- 12:40Speaker 3: At eight, I couldn't read instructions off follow him until
- 12:44Speaker 3: I was sixteen. Man, If that picture didn't get me

- 12:51Speaker 4: I had.
- 12:52Speaker 3: You know, we was buying model cars with the glue.
- 12:56Speaker 3: I look at the picture. If the picture didn't get
- 12:58Speaker 3: me through injured. A lot of my calls have engines
- 13:00Speaker 3: in it because that was just a little bit too intricate.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I ain't see why we needed this engine. Let me
- 13:06Speaker 3: just build this calling out. I just wanted to shell. Yeah,
- 13:09Speaker 3: but this little boy is pretty gifted, man, so I
- 13:11Speaker 3: had to say that. But well, I bill his little brother.
- 13:15Speaker 3: I bought him a lego set because I thought that
- 13:17Speaker 3: trade had passed down. He called me back over. That
- 13:20Speaker 3: went over, he said, I finished, Papa. I went over
- 13:22Speaker 3: to his little ass had built a wall.
- 13:26Speaker 1: The same things, same thing.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I said, Okay, I ain't got to worry about paying
- 13:31Speaker 3: for your college education.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Some geniuses over there.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Really this is not college, all right?

- 17:02Speaker 10: Okay, but boy, budd, so in other words, you're not

- 20:54Speaker 1: All right, thank you, nephew coming up next, it is
- 20:58Speaker 1: asked the CLO you're listening morning show coming up at
- 21:03Speaker 1: the top of the hour. In entertainment news, Samuel Jackson
- 21:08Speaker 1: was not happy with the media coverage of the NCAA
- 21:10Speaker 1: Women's National Championship game. Actor Terrence Howard is suing his
- 21:15Speaker 1: former talent agency CIA over his Empire TV show salary,
- 21:20Speaker 1: and Mike Tyson says he is scared to fight Jake Paul.
- 21:23Speaker 1: We'll talk about all of these stories, but he breaks
- 21:29Speaker 1: it down. Though. We'll get into that because right now
- 21:32Speaker 1: it is time to s the clo our Chief Love Officer,
- 21:36Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. This is from Yo Yo and Port Gibson.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Yoyo writes. My husband and I were shopping and he
- 21:44Speaker 1: introduced me to a woman that walked up to him.
- 21:47Speaker 1: He said, she's a new teacher at our son's school.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I want to know how he met her. Since he
- 21:52Speaker 1: never goes up to the school, why won't he answer me?
- 21:57Speaker 3: Well, potter to reason, he won't ask you just because
- 22:01Speaker 3: he don't want to explain to you how he knows. Right,
- 22:05Speaker 3: I mean what now listen to me, y'all complain about
- 22:10Speaker 3: me and lie. Then when we try not to lie,
- 22:15Speaker 3: you have a problem with that.
- 22:17Speaker 1: No, you're missing a very important point. Just tell the truth.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Well, but see now listen to me. Yes, he know
- 22:28Speaker 3: what the truth gonna bring five brimstone, a reign of
- 22:34Speaker 3: hell and horror and his life. Yes, but so now
- 22:40Speaker 3: let's avoid this question.
- 22:43Speaker 1: So he's protecting himself.
- 22:45Speaker 2: No, No, he's protecting her and the marriage.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Strategy.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Better work. Boy.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Woman walked up and he introduced him her as a teacher.
- 23:04Speaker 3: From the baby school. How did he know she the
- 23:07Speaker 3: teacher and he know ever go to school. See, let
- 23:09Speaker 3: me first of all, let me tell you something. This
- 23:12Speaker 3: is what happened. However they know each other. She just
- 23:17Speaker 3: walked up to her like hello. Now he got turned
- 23:24Speaker 3: around to introduced as a teacher up at the boys' school.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Now here's what better happened because she going up to
- 23:34Speaker 3: the school looking for her. She better be a teacher
- 23:38Speaker 3: up at that school. That's number one and then number two.
- 23:43Speaker 3: You best believe she ain't through with this hell, oh god.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Oh no, she was gonna get to the bottom of
- 23:53Speaker 1: it first, right then, do you teach? You should give
- 24:02Speaker 1: him a quick good lie.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Hey, bro, bro, you was with the baby somewhere.
- 24:11Speaker 3: And he said that got my teaching and I walked up.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Well, too bad he didn't think of that on the spot.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Now he's in trouble, all right, moving on to Phoebe
- 24:24Speaker 1: and but just delayed.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Not answering the question. Yes, it is causing him much.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Hum, geez, young boys, y'all have got to come up
- 24:35Speaker 3: with your lies.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Wing.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know where I why y'all ain't into
- 24:42Speaker 3: instant lies and come here?
- 24:44Speaker 2: So you got instant. Y'all got to get this.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Start practicing by yourself. So say this is from Phoebe
- 24:53Speaker 1: and East Saint Louis. Phoebe says, my husband has been
- 24:57Speaker 1: popping off at our neighbor for weeks and they finally
- 25:00Speaker 1: got into a fist fight. My neighbor one and a
- 25:03Speaker 1: few people on our street saw the fight. Things are
- 25:06Speaker 1: very tense at home now. How can I help to
- 25:09Speaker 1: ease the embarrassment?
- 25:11Speaker 3: Well, see you popping off, see two dudes popping off.
- 25:16Speaker 2: It ain't good.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Now.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Look bro, you ran your mouth and people on the
- 25:20Speaker 3: block saw it and saw it. You got clearly got
- 25:23Speaker 3: your ass with it was probably it wasn't even close.
- 25:26Speaker 3: It was a clear cut ass because it's your They
- 25:31Speaker 3: had they discussing this at the watch party meetings. This
- 25:36Speaker 3: is this is this is damn there in the homeowners
- 25:38Speaker 3: association they got they got your neighbor's address listed as
- 25:45Speaker 3: a potential head of.
- 25:46Speaker 2: The new watch group.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Clearly he should be in charge of taking care of
- 25:52Speaker 3: his neighborhood because he showed took care of your hood.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I think what y'all got to do is just let
- 25:58Speaker 2: it go.
- 25:59Speaker 3: I think be best for your husband if he just
- 26:01Speaker 3: went over there and made peace with this dude.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Man, My bad. I shouldn't have said nothing. Man, I'm sorry.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Man.
- 26:08Speaker 3: We let bygones be bygone, so we canna avoid this,
- 26:11Speaker 3: you know, and didn't let the neighbors see him out
- 26:13Speaker 3: there talking. Oh yeah, but tell your husband why he
- 26:20Speaker 3: talking to the man. Try not to start crying.
- 26:25Speaker 1: That's on social media.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Manunk his husbands over there.
- 26:33Speaker 1: All right. Moving on to newel and Hampton, Noel writes,
- 26:37Speaker 1: the man I'm dating has a habit of ghosting me
- 26:39Speaker 1: for a few days and then coming back in my
- 26:41Speaker 1: life like nothing happened this final time. I blocked him
- 26:45Speaker 1: and I avoid him at work. Why would he even
- 26:47Speaker 1: try to cheat if he can't juggle me and his wife? Okay,
- 26:54Speaker 1: we just say that in the beginning.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Well sucker punched up said the last minute with that
- 27:01Speaker 3: piece of information.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yeah that was a cold cock from heavy pop.
- 27:05Speaker 2: God dog, what's that?
- 27:07Speaker 3: What if he can't juggle me and his wife, why
- 27:14Speaker 3: would he talk Because he can't. He gotta ghost you
- 27:16Speaker 3: because he got to go take care of his house. Now,
- 27:21Speaker 3: listen to me. Tommy can probably tell you this better.
- 27:24Speaker 3: But you're gonna have to learn how to be the
- 27:26Speaker 3: side because I keep telling that you are not the chicken.
- 27:34Speaker 3: I keep let me listen to me. Man, When you
- 27:37Speaker 3: go to KFC or Popeyes, Bojangles anywhere, when you order
- 27:44Speaker 3: it's say two piece, three piece, four piece bucket dinner package,
- 27:53Speaker 3: then you pick your side. You are a side. You
- 28:01Speaker 3: ain't the chicken.
- 28:03Speaker 1: She was cool with that too.
- 28:05Speaker 3: So he gotta go take care of the chicken. That's
- 28:08Speaker 3: why he ghosted you for two days. Remember who you are.
- 28:12Speaker 3: You are the slough coin and rice, mashed potatoes with
- 28:20Speaker 3: that light colored gravy, the salad, that little bit of
- 28:26Speaker 3: salad than that little styfold couple that lid on it,
- 28:29Speaker 3: that had that one half of tomato in it.
- 28:32Speaker 1: That's you at all.
- 28:33Speaker 3: That yellow letters, that's you. Ain't no onions in it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 28:37Speaker 3: that's that's one radish your side.
- 28:41Speaker 1: You got a leg a by a wing or nothing? Yeah?
- 28:47Speaker 2: You dirty rice? Probbi still have dirty rice? Yes they
- 28:53Speaker 2: in Texas.
- 28:54Speaker 1: No, they just continued it in text.
- 28:56Speaker 2: That's what I thought. Yeah, you the biscuit.
- 28:59Speaker 1: They got fries.
- 29:02Speaker 2: You could be fries biscuit.
- 29:05Speaker 1: They got macon cheese, man, oh do they.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah, don't don't ask why I know the whole menu.
- 29:11Speaker 1: All right, Noel, I hope you got the message. Come on,
- 29:16Speaker 1: thank you, CLO. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 29:20Speaker 1: we'll have some entertainment news for you right after this.
- 29:23Speaker 1: You're listening morning show. We gotta say congratulations again to
- 29:30Speaker 1: South Carolina's women's basketball team for winning the national championship title. Yeah.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Head coach John Staley became the first black coach to
- 29:40Speaker 1: win three Division I titles, doing all with an undefeated season.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I might add during the game, we all noticed how
- 29:49Speaker 1: much the media love talking about Caitlin Clark and the
- 29:51Speaker 1: Iowa Hawkeyes. Actor Samuel L. Jackson wrote on social media,
- 29:55Speaker 1: it is okay to talk about the team that's winning too.
- 30:01Speaker 1: That's all right too, you know. In addition, CNN charged
- 30:05Speaker 1: they changed the picture from their lead sports story showing
- 30:08Speaker 1: Caitlin Clark to the South Carolina players after fans call
- 30:12Speaker 1: them out for posting a picture of the losers instead
- 30:15Speaker 1: of the winners. Clark has undoubtedly been one of the
- 30:18Speaker 1: biggest stars in women's college basketball for the past year. However,
- 30:23Speaker 1: when it's South Carolina not Iowa, winning the national championship,
- 30:27Speaker 1: it makes sense to want ESPN, CNN and other media
- 30:30Speaker 1: outlets to focus more on the undefeated game Cocks there
- 30:34Speaker 1: you go.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that would be I mean, you know, look,
- 30:39Speaker 3: I got the contribution that Caitlyn made to the game undeniable.
- 30:43Speaker 3: I got all that, but I also understand that them
- 30:46Speaker 3: game Cocks went undefeated under this year, the undefeated game
- 30:52Speaker 3: and won the whole title. You know the pressure that
- 30:55Speaker 3: is man in Don Staley's reaction after the game when
- 30:58Speaker 3: she just broke down when they was trying to interviewer
- 31:00Speaker 3: because her sister was a lot on her man and
- 31:03Speaker 3: then even in her graciousness with her acceptance speech while
- 31:06Speaker 3: she was up on the stand, she thanked Caitlin Clark
- 31:09Speaker 3: for all she's done for the sport. I mean, you
- 31:12Speaker 3: know what it is too now, you know, she she
- 31:14Speaker 3: did some stuff that hadn't been done before, and you
- 31:17Speaker 3: know over the way over there at Iowen, it did
- 31:19Speaker 3: a lot for the game. That's good, you know, And
- 31:22Speaker 3: she'll go to the next level and she'll be great.
- 31:24Speaker 3: There'll be an adjustment. There'll be an adjustment and then
- 31:29Speaker 3: she'll be great. But there's gonna be an adjustment because
- 31:32Speaker 3: when you go to the w NBA, everybody.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Good, your own women over there.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody got shot, everybody good.
- 31:44Speaker 3: And really the number one three point shooter in the
- 31:47Speaker 3: country was the girl from South Carolina. Yep, but she
- 31:52Speaker 3: ain't getting anybody mentioned that she's the number one three
- 31:56Speaker 3: point shooter in the country and that girl played for
- 31:59Speaker 3: South Carolina. They ain't mentioned that, you know. But you
- 32:04Speaker 3: can't expect one person to carry a whole league because
- 32:07Speaker 3: she's gonna play on one team and she's gonna play
- 32:10Speaker 3: one game at a time. The rest of the league
- 32:13Speaker 3: flourishes and they've been around for a while now. Yeah,
- 32:17Speaker 3: but I will say this though, women, I'm talking to women.
- 32:21Speaker 3: You have to be more supportive of women's sport.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Man, these these arenas should be full. They should that
- 32:31Speaker 3: should be full.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think Houston even has a team anymore.
- 32:36Speaker 13: You had the comments the NBA we used to be
- 32:39Speaker 13: world champions in that one away. But you're right about that.
- 32:43Speaker 13: Let's support women's sports.
- 32:45Speaker 1: And there's something with the pay the the spare.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Yes, well, yeah, if you can't feel the stands up
- 32:51Speaker 3: where it's gonna get you this money from see and
- 32:54Speaker 3: then if you don't feel the stands up and you
- 32:56Speaker 3: don't get the viewership. Who's gonna advertise, So you see,
- 33:00Speaker 3: it's women have a responsibility to each other now because
- 33:05Speaker 3: y'all got daughters playing sports. Y'all got daughters that's got
- 33:09Speaker 3: to come up and beat greatness.
- 33:12Speaker 13: And we need the men to support just like women
- 33:14Speaker 13: support mens.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Right, So both right, let's do it. Would you say, Steve,
- 33:23Speaker 1: actually on women?
- 33:25Speaker 3: Sorry, it's really no, I'm telling you the truth. No,
- 33:30Speaker 3: it's really on women. You ain't got to ask men
- 33:33Speaker 3: to support sports. That's what we do women's sports too. Yeah, no,
- 33:39Speaker 3: but you have to support women's sports because it's women. Yeah,
- 33:45Speaker 3: more men watching the women's n c a A than
- 33:48Speaker 3: than it was women.
- 33:51Speaker 2: You're right, probably because we do sports now.
- 33:55Speaker 4: We watched it.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Because in the minute we find to be in the
- 34:00Speaker 3: world of hurt because the NBA Finals is gonna be
- 34:02Speaker 3: over with the minute.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Darts. We're playing darts. Hard to watching damn baseball.
- 34:14Speaker 3: There's another pitch final ball. Yeah, man, they ain't even
- 34:21Speaker 3: excited to be there, border battling out. Howard County is
- 34:25Speaker 3: now two and one. Hey did you see the other day?
- 34:29Speaker 10: No?
- 34:29Speaker 2: Hey man, Hey, so Steve, did you spinger?
- 34:33Speaker 1: Did you see did you see Terrence Howard's recent interview
- 34:36Speaker 1: about his lawsuit against c A, A Creative Arts and
- 34:39Speaker 1: agency over his Empire TV show salary, Terrence said he
- 34:43Speaker 1: was underpaid for his role as Lucia's Lyons. Take a
- 34:46Speaker 1: listen as he compares his salary to the cast of
- 34:49Speaker 1: the TV show Big Bang Theory. Creative Artists Agency, they
- 34:55Speaker 1: represented me.
- 34:56Speaker 14: They also represented some of the people from Big Bang Theory.
- 35:00Speaker 14: They also did the deal with Fox. My show was
- 35:04Speaker 14: with Fox, and people in Big Bang was with Fox.
- 35:06Speaker 14: We had twenty eight million viewers. They had eleven million viewers.
- 35:12Speaker 14: They were getting two million dollars down there, three million
- 35:15Speaker 14: dollars an episode. Those white kids that had no name recognition,
- 35:18Speaker 14: no Oscar nominations, none of that. We have twenty eight
- 35:21Speaker 14: million viewers, and these these jokers are paying me three
- 35:25Speaker 14: hundred and twenty five thousand dollars an episode.
- 35:28Speaker 3: He right, He's one hundred percent correct. Here is what
- 35:33Speaker 3: they're going to say to Terrence Howard, as a gentleman
- 35:37Speaker 3: told me who I won't say his name because I
- 35:39Speaker 3: promised him I wouldn't, but he told me executive, he
- 35:41Speaker 3: was president of a network. He said, the reason blacks
- 35:45Speaker 3: can't get paid is because blacks are paid from the
- 35:48Speaker 3: multicultural budgeting dollars in all of these different ad campaigns,
- 35:52Speaker 3: and so you will never be paid what the white
- 35:55Speaker 3: counterparts are paid.
- 35:58Speaker 1: After the hour, National disruptive events yesterday's solar eclipse and
- 36:04Speaker 1: last week's East Coast earthquake. We'll talk about it all
- 36:07Speaker 1: right after this you're listening morning show. Well, there's a
- 36:12Speaker 1: lot going on in the world, including the latest natural
- 36:15Speaker 1: disruptive event, yesterday's solar eclipse, where millions of people in
- 36:19Speaker 1: the US and the paths of totality witness the Moon
- 36:23Speaker 1: appear to entirely block the Sun. It will be twenty
- 36:27Speaker 1: years until the next solar eclipse. Other national disasters this
- 36:31Speaker 1: past Friday's earthquake in New Jersey and New York. That
- 36:35Speaker 1: was crazy. That came from nowhere, was there? Yeah? Yeah,
- 36:44Speaker 1: Speaking of earthquakes, a lot of us on this show
- 36:48Speaker 1: lived in La a long time. We've been through some
- 36:50Speaker 1: serious earthquakes, serious earthquakes. So Steve, any advice, You've been
- 36:55Speaker 1: through a lot of LA earthquakes, right.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yeah, moves.
- 37:02Speaker 1: My friends did.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Move from last here. Man, you ain't no warning for
- 37:05Speaker 3: the earthquake. Go to Florida. They take you three days
- 37:07Speaker 3: in advance from the hurricanes is coming, they talked up
- 37:11Speaker 3: and get on up out of there.
- 37:12Speaker 2: You might have say goodbye to your house. But hey,
- 37:14Speaker 2: at least you'll be safe.
- 37:16Speaker 13: Yeah, okay, but earthquakes moved from New Jersey and New York?
- 37:21Speaker 3: How often do whatever they have them at? I bet
- 37:26Speaker 3: I won't be here for the next week.
- 37:30Speaker 1: And it's not just the earthquakes, it's those trimmers, the aftershocks. Yeah,
- 37:34Speaker 1: there's a lot of aftershocks in the Tri Stateium.

- 37:41Speaker 1: But really, you didn't feel anything.
- 37:44Speaker 2: But Tommy will sleep though. Once I'm down. I'm down.
- 37:46Speaker 1: So not even an earthquake and wake you up. I'm crazy.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Wow Wow, So Steve says, moved. I had a lot
- 37:59Speaker 1: of friends from LA that move, and.
- 38:01Speaker 9: I stayed my butt in the house for that eclips too.
- 38:04Speaker 9: I didn't want no part of that. I didn't want
- 38:05Speaker 9: to what they say you could once they said you
- 38:11Speaker 9: could be blind.
- 38:12Speaker 1: If you look up, because once they tell you not to,
- 38:15Speaker 1: you're you're compelled to do it.
- 38:18Speaker 2: I'm not gonna you looked at it. No, I didn't.
- 38:21Speaker 1: I didn't look at you.
- 38:23Speaker 2: A lot of people was in the house.
- 38:24Speaker 1: An't got time for the week that stuff. I'm getting
- 38:27Speaker 1: my glasses. Look, it won't come back again for twenty years.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I ain't trusted in them glasses. I'm not
- 38:33Speaker 2: looking up there.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I don't need to. So what you're saying, I could
- 38:37Speaker 1: possibly go blind.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Mess around them glasses don't work.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Then you have your real glasses and looking at.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Watching this on TV, man, somebody got to recording.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Of it, and again you cannot drive with those glasses.
- 38:53Speaker 1: You cannot dry.
- 38:56Speaker 7: Y'all to escort me to the stage because I looked up.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Okay, she got the clip. What what do you see? What?
- 39:06Speaker 1: It's total darkness right now in these class.
- 39:09Speaker 9: Right you see the eclipse. If you can't see nothing
- 39:15Speaker 9: yesterday you ain't seen nothing. Then white Folk told you.
- 39:21Speaker 1: All right, coming up at thirty four minutes after the hour,
- 39:26Speaker 1: you will played on these classes. I got playing. In
- 39:29Speaker 1: case you missed the guys, this past Friday was National
- 39:32Speaker 1: Tell a Lie Day. Oh Steve, we'll talk about that
- 39:36Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening Morning show. Well, in case
- 39:41Speaker 1: you missed it, this past Friday, Steve was National Tell
- 39:45Speaker 1: a lie day. How in the world do we miss that?
- 39:48Speaker 1: It's a day you were there for, you celebrate we all,
- 39:55Speaker 1: not a day that gives everyone mission to tell a
- 40:01Speaker 1: lie without reason. Here's some interesting facts about lying before
- 40:05Speaker 1: we get to everything. Okay, words lie. People tend to
- 40:10Speaker 1: lie more in writing than they do face to face.
- 40:14Speaker 1: That's what people lie in text messages, on social media
- 40:24Speaker 1: and emails.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Stuff like that they don't know they don't know.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Okay, how about lies? How about that they hurt they
- 40:33Speaker 1: supposed to they heard who the person you're lying to.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Obviously, lies don't hurt lives save lives, Lies save lives,
- 40:44Speaker 3: Lies save relationships, live save jobs, live saves marriages. How
- 40:57Speaker 3: do I look today? Set like diggest ada? That's the truth?
- 41:02Speaker 3: That what you won't Oh gosh, damn what y'all won't
- 41:07Speaker 3: come on? What else?
- 41:08Speaker 4: All? Right?
- 41:08Speaker 1: Lies add stress to your life. They can negatively affect
- 41:12Speaker 1: your physical health. That's what you have.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's a lie, absolute healthiest.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Right now, all things to lies. We're gonna play a
- 41:25Speaker 1: game here, Steve. It's called two truths and a lie.
- 41:28Speaker 1: I'm sure you've heard about that, where it's where you
- 41:30Speaker 1: tell us two truths and a lie about yourself. The
- 41:33Speaker 1: idea is to keep the thing similar, so it'll be
- 41:36Speaker 1: harder for us to guess if you're telling a liear
- 41:39Speaker 1: or not. All right, so go to truth and a lie.
- 41:41Speaker 2: I'm sixty seven years old.
- 41:43Speaker 3: I weigh two hundred and eighteen pounds, and I've always
- 41:48Speaker 3: struggled with my height.
- 41:52Speaker 4: All right?
- 41:53Speaker 2: Why did height have the thing? He could have done
- 41:58Speaker 2: anything else. It just had to be hurt, all right.
- 42:02Speaker 1: The truth is you're sixty seven years old. You are that.
- 42:06Speaker 1: That's true? Uh huh, that's the true true. Yeah, you
- 42:10Speaker 1: weigh a wait how much he weighs? About to wait
- 42:14Speaker 1: to junior, y, Yeah, the height is the lie you've
- 42:22Speaker 1: always wait.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Wait I did? Okay, go ahead, what y'all think?
- 42:27Speaker 1: I think the weight is a lie?
- 42:29Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 42:29Speaker 1: I think the height is a lot?
- 42:31Speaker 3: See right, to see how good I am? Okay, I'm
- 42:34Speaker 3: sixty seven years old. Yeah, I lost thirty pounds. I
- 42:36Speaker 3: weighed to eighteen.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Now that's true.
- 42:39Speaker 3: And I lied again because I struggled with my height.
- 42:44Speaker 3: And I really don't just lying.
- 42:47Speaker 1: To be lying.
- 42:47Speaker 13: You're not even playing the game, right, You gotta lie
- 42:49Speaker 13: about playing the game.
- 42:52Speaker 1: But the truth, the height is the lie.
- 42:55Speaker 2: The height is the lie.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I've always struggled.
- 43:00Speaker 2: My height, and I really ain't.
- 43:02Speaker 1: You haven't.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I've been told my whole damn life in most rooms
- 43:06Speaker 2: I've been in. I can't.
- 43:09Speaker 3: I can't say that for everybody on his zoom. Oh,
- 43:14Speaker 3: I was struggling. I thought he was telling the truth
- 43:16Speaker 3: about everything. A little fellaw might might have a little
- 43:20Speaker 3: problem with this. Hell, but you know, a little fellow
- 43:23Speaker 3: what else you got?
- 43:24Speaker 2: She whatever?
- 43:26Speaker 1: Two truths and a lie?
- 43:28Speaker 2: Oh man, I'm sexy. Oh right there. I can't wait
- 43:36Speaker 2: to meet Halle.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Okay, really hurry, Herry.
- 43:41Speaker 2: I love y'all.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Okay, that all three of them was lie.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Wait to meet now?
- 43:49Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, that's a lie.
- 43:51Speaker 3: You can wait and you will wait because never that's
- 43:57Speaker 3: what was the first one you said? You said, you
- 44:06Speaker 3: know you know here?
- 44:10Speaker 2: And what's the last one?
- 44:11Speaker 1: He said that he loves all of us? Lie?
- 44:17Speaker 2: You just are liking me a little?
- 44:21Speaker 1: Wow? All right? Coming up? Coming up the Nephew and
- 44:31Speaker 1: Today's prank phone call right after this, You're listening morning
- 44:36Speaker 1: show coming up at the top of the hour, right
- 44:39Speaker 1: about four minutes after it's my Strawberry letter for today
- 44:42Speaker 1: and the subject is big, black, beautiful and broke. Well,
- 44:50Speaker 1: we'll talk about that. We'll get into it in just
- 44:52Speaker 1: a few because right now it is time for the
- 44:55Speaker 1: nephew and today's prank phone call. What you got for
- 44:58Speaker 1: his neph.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Surely we got.
- 45:01Speaker 9: We got a lot going on on these buses, these
- 45:03Speaker 9: school buses with these kids. Some of these kids just
- 45:07Speaker 9: they just they're just too heavy, you understand, And me
- 45:10Speaker 9: being the bus driver, mister Ernest, I can't let these
- 45:13Speaker 9: kids get on this bus if they too heavy. They yeah,
- 45:16Speaker 9: this is because baby weight.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Baby.
- 45:18Speaker 9: We oh yeah, yeah, if I put the scale down.
- 45:22Speaker 9: And when I put the scale down, here, if your
- 45:24Speaker 9: baby get on the scale and your baby too heavy,
- 45:26Speaker 9: your baby gotta walk to school.
- 45:27Speaker 2: You don't get on the bus.
- 45:30Speaker 9: These big babies are wearing these axles out.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I can't, we can't. We just can't take it. I
- 45:36Speaker 2: can't do. We can't do no more big babies on
- 45:38Speaker 2: these buses.
- 45:38Speaker 7: I'm sorry, y'all got the walk we missed. I truly
- 45:47Speaker 7: do these kids too big?
- 45:50Speaker 9: Nowadays? They too big. They don't go outside and play.
- 45:52Speaker 9: They sit around and hide playing a video game. We
- 45:55Speaker 9: got to get out and walk.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Baby. Wait, let's go cat though.
- 46:00Speaker 4: Hello, Hello, I'm trying to reach traina police.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:04Speaker 4: This is Trina Triina. My name is Ernest, Ernest Murphy
- 46:08Speaker 4: down here at the bus barn with the from the
- 46:10Speaker 4: school district. Your son is devid Am I right, yeah, okay,
- 46:17Speaker 4: Now he's in the fifth grade. I think, yeah, yeah,
- 46:21Speaker 4: everything is fired. I think he's on he rides bus ninety,
- 46:25Speaker 4: bus ninety three. Does he ride bus ninety three?
- 46:27Speaker 12: Are you mean yeah?
- 46:28Speaker 4: Number?
- 46:29Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah he does.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Okay, So now the school board has implemented a new
- 46:35Speaker 4: rule and we're having to call a lot of parents
- 46:40Speaker 4: and let him know about the new rule for us
- 46:43Speaker 4: as far as the buses are concerned. Now, from my understanding,
- 46:48Speaker 4: each child that gets on the bus has to weigh
- 46:51Speaker 4: less than one hundred and twenty five pounds. That's what
- 46:54Speaker 4: the new rule that is implemented by waiting board.
- 46:57Speaker 15: What do you say that again?
- 47:01Speaker 4: I feel each child that gets on the bus has
- 47:06Speaker 4: to weigh less than one hundred and twenty five parents.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 47:11Speaker 16: I don't understand.
- 47:13Speaker 10: So what's okay?
- 47:15Speaker 16: So what what does that mean?
- 47:16Speaker 4: So starting on Monday, Starting on Monday, what they're gonna
- 47:20Speaker 4: do is they gonna the bus driver will have a
- 47:23Speaker 4: scale and he will wait kids so they get on
- 47:26Speaker 4: on the bus. I understand. Man. Then the doctor like
- 47:29Speaker 4: I say, I'm calling, I'm calling every patent that they wait.
- 47:34Speaker 15: He said, you're gonna you're gonna weigh my child before
- 47:37Speaker 15: he gets on the bus.
- 47:38Speaker 4: That's that's what the new rute. That's what the new rulee.
- 47:41Speaker 4: If he's over one twenty five, then he still either
- 47:43Speaker 4: have to wait, so you'll have to take him to school.
- 47:47Speaker 15: I have a job, Okay, I have a job. I
- 47:49Speaker 15: thought to take my kid in school, but doesn't I don't.
- 47:52Speaker 15: That's what the bus explores. That's what my tax dollars
- 47:55Speaker 15: pay for. The reasoning, the rationale behind this.
- 48:00Speaker 4: Okay, let me tell you what's going on. From what
- 48:02Speaker 4: they're saying, the weight of these children is wearing down
- 48:07Speaker 4: these transmissions on this bus, on these buses transmission the
- 48:11Speaker 4: transmission that cannot take all of that. So they are
- 48:15Speaker 4: limiting the weight of each child. So now how much does.
- 48:18Speaker 15: This over discrimination? I think that discrimination?
- 48:23Speaker 4: But that is your son over Is he over one
- 48:26Speaker 4: hundred and twenty five pounds?
- 48:28Speaker 3: Okay?
- 48:29Speaker 4: He is? Okay, and you're gonna you're probably gonna have
- 48:33Speaker 4: to take your son to school or he gonna have.
- 48:35Speaker 10: To walk running.
- 48:36Speaker 4: He probably need to walk to school if he already
- 48:39Speaker 4: hunting twenty five pounds the accident?
- 48:46Speaker 16: Are you talking about.
- 48:49Speaker 4: Them all I'm saying. All I'm saying is if your
- 48:52Speaker 4: son is overweight one hundred and twenty five, you know,
- 48:56Speaker 4: maybe the exercise are doing good. But like I said that,
- 48:58Speaker 4: the school to allow him on the plus.
- 49:03Speaker 17: Sir, I will not accept this.
- 49:06Speaker 15: Who do I need to call?
- 49:07Speaker 11: Is there a manager?
- 49:08Speaker 15: Is there a city council member? I mean, this is
- 49:10Speaker 15: seriously the lowstuf discriminatory practice I've ever heard of. It
- 49:15Speaker 15: doesn't even make sense. You're talking about your child.
- 49:18Speaker 4: I understand, but we're talking about a child way more
- 49:21Speaker 4: than a grown person.
- 49:23Speaker 15: To get What is your name, sir? Tell me your
- 49:25Speaker 15: name again.
- 49:27Speaker 12: My name is Ernest.
- 49:28Speaker 4: I'm down here at the busball.
- 49:30Speaker 17: I would like to speak with a supervisor. Like now,
- 49:35Speaker 17: you do not get to speak to about my child
- 49:37Speaker 17: that way. You can just speak to any kid that way.
- 49:39Speaker 17: You should not be working at a school if that
- 49:42Speaker 17: is your attitude.
- 49:43Speaker 4: I now, I don't work at the school. I work
- 49:45Speaker 4: at the bus ball, and I'm down here at the
- 49:46Speaker 4: bus ball and they gave me your they have a
- 49:49Speaker 4: tender day right because you're saying he's over behind in
- 49:51Speaker 4: twenty five times.
- 49:52Speaker 15: I am an absolute shocked.
- 49:55Speaker 3: This is still okay.
- 49:59Speaker 4: So do you have a fan child? I mean, do
- 50:01Speaker 4: you have scuba? I'm sorry, do you have a big child? Listen?
- 50:05Speaker 15: What my child looks like, how.
- 50:06Speaker 16: Much he waits is none of your business. I'm going
- 50:10Speaker 16: to call the school. They can be working with your company.
- 50:13Speaker 16: If this is the way that you treat people and you.
- 50:16Speaker 15: Talk about children this way and it doesn't.
- 50:19Speaker 4: Matter with you, I guess what they're doing is this
- 50:23Speaker 4: is the way of them approaching obesity, you know, right, Yeah,
- 50:28Speaker 4: to school whoever, whoever? All one hundred and twenty five eleven,
- 50:30Speaker 4: the walk they might walk at all? Your son?
- 50:33Speaker 16: Listen, listen, that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Okay,
- 50:38Speaker 16: I have to work. My son is getting on that bus,
- 50:42Speaker 16: and I'm going to call the school boys and should
- 50:44Speaker 16: not be working with you your mother bus company. I
- 50:46Speaker 16: don't know what I'm calling the city. I will call
- 50:49Speaker 16: remember the city to call that.
- 50:50Speaker 15: You need to give me.
- 50:51Speaker 16: A supervisor's name right now, right now?
- 50:54Speaker 4: Do you think you need to start cooking different, but
- 50:57Speaker 4: so devin On, have you know maybe maybe it's taught
- 51:00Speaker 4: at home with what you feed me.
- 51:05Speaker 10: O my body know.
- 51:06Speaker 15: I am calling the supervisor. I'm calling this the city,
- 51:09Speaker 15: I'm calling the school. I'm going to get so fired,
- 51:12Speaker 15: like I can't even believe that you're allowed to make
- 51:14Speaker 15: this call like our other parents.
- 51:16Speaker 4: Okay with this, I'm calling. Well, you're on your way

- 54:42Speaker 1: don't want him to use a little money that he
- 54:44Speaker 1: has on gas. I'm twenty nine and he's twenty eight.
- 54:48Speaker 1: We moved in together, and my dad stopped talking to
- 54:51Speaker 1: me because he knows my man can't take care of
- 54:53Speaker 1: me like he should. My mama is my girl, and
- 54:57Speaker 1: she encourages me to stick by my man because she
- 54:59Speaker 1: said my daddy was about nothing when she met him,
- 55:03Speaker 1: and she's the reason he got the good job at
- 55:05Speaker 1: the school that he just retired from. I also told
- 55:08Speaker 1: my mama exactly why I love my man. What he
- 55:12Speaker 1: is lacking in money, he makes up for it in
- 55:15Speaker 1: the bedroom. All I can say is that he's big.
- 55:18Speaker 1: My mom noticed it one day when he was washing
- 55:21Speaker 1: my car, and we got a big laugh out of it.
- 55:24Speaker 1: That was the same day she encouraged me to go
- 55:27Speaker 1: the extra mile and help this man get on his feet.
- 55:30Speaker 1: But then there's the rest of society that judges women
- 55:32Speaker 1: for taking care of a man. My man knows that
- 55:35Speaker 1: my dad and my friends make fun of me because
- 55:37Speaker 1: of him, but he still gets upset when I tell
- 55:40Speaker 1: him about job openings that he's qualified for. The first
- 55:43Speaker 1: thing that he says is I don't believe in him.
- 55:45Speaker 1: It's been almost three years. Have I put in enough
- 55:48Speaker 1: time to see that he's not going to change? Should
- 55:51Speaker 1: I be patient like my mom said? Or stop supporting
- 55:54Speaker 1: him like dad said? Okay, it's been three years. He
- 55:59Speaker 1: should be able to show you something by now. If
- 56:01Speaker 1: he's not making money singing, he's got to do more
- 56:04Speaker 1: like get a job. And he's breaking the basic rules
- 56:08Speaker 1: like using your car and bringing it back empty. That's disrespectful.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Who does that? I mean, that's the very least he
- 56:14Speaker 1: could do. And the reason your dad is not with
- 56:16Speaker 1: it is because he's a man. You're his baby. He
- 56:19Speaker 1: wants and expects nothing but the best for you. Especially
- 56:23Speaker 1: after three years with this man, it's starting to look
- 56:26Speaker 1: like tall, dark and pretty teeth is using you. He's young,
- 56:30Speaker 1: so I get that he probably doesn't have it all together,
- 56:34Speaker 1: but you won't. You won't have anything either if you
- 56:37Speaker 1: keep taking care of him. The thing is, he's a
- 56:39Speaker 1: singer with no gigs. You said that everyone has to
- 56:43Speaker 1: start somewhere, so he's got to figure out how to
- 56:45Speaker 1: bring in some income. Until he can start realizing his
- 56:48Speaker 1: dream of singing. It's not happening right now, and it
- 56:52Speaker 1: could take a long time before he gets his break.
- 56:55Speaker 1: If he ever gets a break, that doesn't mean you're
- 56:58Speaker 1: charged with taking care of this grown man. I mean,
- 57:01Speaker 1: I know your mother is on his team, and she
- 57:04Speaker 1: helped your dad early on, but now she's got to
- 57:06Speaker 1: look beyond his height and his looks and his sexual
- 57:09Speaker 1: prowess and all of that to see if this man
- 57:11Speaker 1: is really a good match for her daughter. Period.
- 57:14Speaker 3: Steve, Well, It's a letter simple for me because I'm
- 57:19Speaker 3: a father, period. I'm a dad, and I happen to
- 57:25Speaker 3: be a man, and I happen to have been twenty
- 57:29Speaker 3: eight and I have happened to have pursued a dream.
- 57:35Speaker 3: So I'm all over this letter on both ends. The
- 57:41Speaker 3: twenty eight year old and your daddy. Only problem is
- 57:47Speaker 3: I've never been beautiful. That's it. I damn show been
- 57:55Speaker 3: black and I damn show been broke. So letting me
- 58:01Speaker 3: help you understand what you're dealing with. He's six four,
- 58:07Speaker 3: blackest tar, straightest teeth I've ever seen.
- 58:10Speaker 2: He's a singer with no gigs. Let's stop right there.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I'm gonna go out on the limb and say this
- 58:18Speaker 3: in case, ain't nobody thinking it. I don't think he's
- 58:22Speaker 3: asked saying that. Good right, I'm just going out here
- 58:27Speaker 3: right now. He's a singer with no gigs, Lady, he
- 58:40Speaker 3: is pursuing a profession that he ain't good at. Ain't
- 58:46Speaker 3: nobody asked you to sing at the wedding. Ain't nobody
- 58:51Speaker 3: asked you to come over and sing at the old
- 58:53Speaker 3: man graduations retirement party. You ain't even been asked to
- 58:59Speaker 3: sing at a funeral. And that's why you ain't even
- 59:03Speaker 3: really got to be good at the funeral you because
- 59:06Speaker 3: they have to be the star that.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Show is dead.
- 59:10Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, you don't even get invited to be that.
- 59:14Speaker 3: So he's a singer with no gigs. But I'm patient
- 59:18Speaker 3: with him since we started dating because he's a good man. Well, okay,
- 59:22Speaker 3: let me hear how good of a man he is.
- 59:25Speaker 3: He messed up his credit so he don't have a
- 59:27Speaker 3: car right now. Okay, so you got a good man
- 59:31Speaker 3: that don't know how to take care of business and
- 59:33Speaker 3: ain't got nothing. I will allow him to use my
- 59:36Speaker 3: car when he has to go sing, and he brings
- 59:40Speaker 3: it back on e Oh, that's a good man right there.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Let me drive up all the gas out of my
- 59:48Speaker 3: girl's car because I don't want him to use the
- 59:50Speaker 3: little money.
- 59:51Speaker 2: That he has on gas. Well, what is he using
- 59:53Speaker 2: the little money on.
- 59:56Speaker 1: His teeth?
- 59:58Speaker 3: Some more off of that black s ski in its
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: tall teeth whitenel damn show. I ain't spending it on
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: singing lessons. So I'm just trying to figure out. I'm
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: trying to get the good man. I'm twenty nine here,
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: at twenty eight. We moved in together, and my dad
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: stopped talking to me because he know my man can't
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: take me and tear me like I should.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: All right, when we come back, I'll give you the
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: rest of it.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: I'm still trying to figure out how he a good.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Man though, Right, all right, we'll have part two of
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Steve's response coming up at twenty three minutes after the hour.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Today's Strawberry letter, Big Black, Beautiful and Broke. We'll get
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: back into it right after this. You're listening Steve Hardy
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, Steve, come on, let's recap today's
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: strawberry letter. The subject is big, black, beautiful and broke.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Here's this girl that's dating this six foot folk beautiful
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: man that is black as tall, with the straightest teeth
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: she's ever seen. He's a single with no gigs. I
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: went out on the limb on the last break and said, well,
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: I don't think he's sang that damn good because most
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: singers that don't have gigs, it's probably cause they can't sing.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Ain't nobody finn to pay you to sit up and
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: bring your black ass down here. We look at your teeth.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: That ain't what we finn to do. I ain't got
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: five hundred for you to come down here. He is
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: up here showing his teeth, can't sing at all. But
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: see he thinks he big, black and beautiful, so he
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: thinks his beauty gonna get him a singing contract.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: It don't.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: Now you've been patient with him since he been dating
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: because you say he's a good man. Well, I want
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: you to show me how he's good a man. Well
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: let's go. He messed up his credit so he don't
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: have a car right now. All right, So this good man,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: he don't take care of business and he ain't got nothing. Okay,
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: that's a good man. Okay, let's read on. I allow
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: him to use my car when he got to go
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: sing and he brings it back on E because I
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: don't want him to use a little money he's got
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: on gas. Good man, little money, use up all your gas,
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: bring your car back on East. So now he riding
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: around town flexing. God, everybody need to see these teeth.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: I'm twenty nine, twenty eight.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: We moved in.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Together, and my dad stopped talking to me because he
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: know my man can't take care of me like he should,
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: as your father should, as I would. I'm not co signing.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: No dude that can't take care of my daughter. Man,
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: you must be out your mind. I'm not finna shake
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: your hand, tell you good luck.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: My mama is my girl.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Now here's a perfect example of when it's time to
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: stop being friends and you should be a parent. But
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: my mama and my girl. She encouraged me to stick
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: by my man because she said my daddy wasn't about
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: nothing when she met him, and he's the reason he
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: got the good job that he had at the school
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: that he just retired from. Yeah, but your mama didn't
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: stay with him three years though, and your daddy wasn't
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: riding your mama coattail for three years. Yeah, and your
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: daddy wasn't bringing your mama car back on. Ea. See,
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: your mama ain't telling you this hire part. She telling
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: you to stand by your man. But your man needs
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: to stand up. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I also told
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: my mama exactly why I love my man. What he
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: is lacking in money, he makes up for in the bedroom.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: All I can say is that he's big. Okay, well, okay,
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: that's they're really close. Huh Okay. You then told your
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: mama he big girl. And then and then my mama
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: noticed it one day when he was washing my car.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: He just all his shorts was shortened. She just saw that,
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: and she said, and we laughed real hard, you know,
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: you know, you know, but but he was washing my carter.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: You know why, washing your car because he ain't got
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: no damn car. That same day, she encouraged me to
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: go that extra mile and help this man get on
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: his feet. Okay, but is he trying to stand up though,
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: or is he just laying over there on you? But
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: then there's the rest of society that judges women for
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: taking care of a man.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Well, okay, sorry.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: When a man has two jobs that are undeniable jobs,
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: and all of us have to fulfill this. A man's
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: job is if he can't do nothing, he gotta do
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: these two things. Provide and protect. Protect and provide to
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: provide somebody's daughter with a sense of security, a shoulder
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: to lean on and arms to run too. And somebody
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: pick up your slack. Where if you just feel like
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: today I want to be a girl, maybe going over there.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: I got this, but that ain't what you got. My
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: man knows that my dad and my friends make fun
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: of me because of him, but he still gets upset
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: when I tell him about job openings that he's qualified for.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: You know what, because you sick of taking care of him.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: So now you sitting up in here laughing because he's
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: big and he washing your card. He take care of
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: beers in the bedroom too bad, y'all can't spend y'all
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: life in the bedroom. Huh Yeah, See life start when
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: you get out the bedroom. Now you tell him about
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: job openings he qualified for, but he don't want to
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: hear that because he big, black, pretty straight teeth and he.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: A non singing ass singer.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Now he want to keep singing riding around it, Yo,
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: damn card bringing it back on the flex and letting
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: everybody see the white ass teeth he got. But you
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: can't sing first thing, he says, I don't believe in him.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: What hell, it's been almost three years. You say it's
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: been three years. Have I put in enough time to
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: see he's not going to change? Do it look like
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: he trying to change? Does he look like he trying
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: to provide for you? Or does he look like he's
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: enjoying riding round in your car black ass tar, riding
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: round t sparkle like stars. But he's sitting up in
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: here bringing it back on Eve.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I am still hoping you.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Man's merized by my pretty teeth. I'm sitting up in
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: here going nowhere fast, but I'm counting on you to
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: not remember my past. I messed up my credit. I
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: don't have a car, But if you let me lay
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: on you a little bit longer, baby, we gonna go far.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: I could finish this poem and write a whole lot more,
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: But why would I do that? Because there's nothing in store?
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Coast comments on today's Strawberry Letter Yeve Harvey FM on

- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening Hard Morning show. It is
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: time now for Junior and Sports Talk. What you got junior?
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: Yeah, Well, congratulations to the women's national champions the game
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: Cocks South Carolina. Yeah, old hour, And you know what, man,
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: let just go ahead, just give it up for don
- 1:07:25Speaker 7: Staley because when she was crying at the end, that
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: means she really.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Had an impact with these girls.
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: She really did what she had to do with those
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: young girls to go undefeated. And you know what she
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: is not if I'm done, I'm going in there right
- 1:07:37Speaker 7: now today and I'm asking for more money right now.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: I want some more money. Oh, they're gonna have to
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: give it to him.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Three national championships, did go asking?
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: Woman right now is turning out to be one of
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: the great legendary coaches in all of basketball. You don't
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: do this type of stuff. She lost four starters last year,
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: she sure did. And you don't talk about that enough.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: You're right, And then when all these games.
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: And then one of the title and yeah, and you
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: know what, she was so gracious to Kaitler Clark. I'm
- 1:08:10Speaker 7: talking about from the championship pope, and you gave your
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: opponent that much praise, That's that's unheard of. Most people
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: take that moment for themselves, and she shared it for
- 1:08:19Speaker 7: that girl because Kaylen Clark.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Yeah, a classic.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Because whatever you want to say about Kendler Clark, she
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: did change basketball for women. She really did.
- 1:08:26Speaker 7: Her and Angelies and all of them, because women's basketball
- 1:08:30Speaker 7: is almost damn near bigger than means. I'm gathering the
- 1:08:33Speaker 7: viewership is there, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's there.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Oh, it's always there.
- 1:08:38Speaker 7: And you know another thing too, I'm gonna say this too,
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: Tyra Eastan of the Houston Rockets. If you listening to
- 1:08:44Speaker 7: this show, I mean, is again, were playing Orlando, don't
- 1:08:46Speaker 7: you post a damn thing I forgot? Don't post nothing,
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: don't say nothing, don't miss nobody else.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Don't even say nothing. Jalen Suns, don't say nothing.
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: Just put you on somebody take his phone right now
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: before the game.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Boy, you know what Junior is talking about.
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: Everybody is the player on the Houston Rockets that posted
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: something about Warrior.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Yeah, come on and play. And that happened a week ago,
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: and now he's still mad.
- 1:09:14Speaker 7: I'm still mad about to cary that.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Up because you don't even know who Tory Lane is,
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: because he don't even play toy.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: He don't even play.
- 1:09:21Speaker 7: He got twenty one minutes for the whole season his
- 1:09:23Speaker 7: off which the last week of the NBA. Don't post nothing,
- 1:09:27Speaker 7: don't say nothing, don't talk to nobody.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Matter of fact, if you want to impress me, you
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: want to talk me. Taught me with a substitution that
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: what I want to see get in the game.
- 1:09:38Speaker 8: I know.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: And you better not be on the Rockets roster next season.
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: We don't.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Just try to connect your anger to something.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: I'm talking to him, and I'll be in Houston in
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: two weeks.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: I'll be a high clark. Come fine, that's why I
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: get your ass.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Whoop now, I promise been up.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: Ain't nobody feeling help you?
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: We can't get to you in Houston? What all up
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: in these professional athletes face? You aren't cut for this now.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: You know you could run a little farty, but that's
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: about you know.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: You woun't even sound threatening.
- 1:10:13Speaker 13: Note going over at the top of the hour.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Man on social media, Steve needs some advice. He says
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: his girlfriend thinks he's seating with his auntie. What we'll
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: talk about this. You're listening morning show, all right, So Steve,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: this is from Terry and Steve Harvey FM. Terry says,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: what was supposed to be a magical romantic moment, Uh, well,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: it turned into an emergency room visit over the weekend,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: and now that's turned into a nightmare. A lot happened
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: that night. I hurt my back. Anyway, while I was
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: in the e R. I gave my girlfriend my phone.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: She used that time to go through my text messages
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: and now she's upset and calling me a cheater. And
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: the other woman is in reality my auntie, Peaches. She
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: is mad because I told her that I quote love

- 1:17:56Speaker 2: But can I? Can I pick new people? Don't? Hell?
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: I just go back to forty five and make all
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: kinds of new choice.
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Would you rather have a messy house that you're not
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: responsible for cleaning or would you rather have a clean
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: house that is only cleaned by you?
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: What? Now?
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Should you want your house to be messy and you're
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: not responsible for cleaning it, or would you rather have
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: a clean house that you have to clean yourself.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: Oh no, it's gonna be messy and I ain't responsible
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: cause we're gonna get somebody in here.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not clean enough. No damn house. I'm telling
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: you that right now.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: I told my wife that when we got married, you
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: canna ask me to do anything you won't do. But
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: I'm not doing no damn house. I'm not picking up,
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: no launch, I'm not vacuum and I'm not.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: Vacum.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: A vacuum you with a vacuum.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: I just don't a vacuum. Yeah, I would love that.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: Yeah, dog, I wasted some uh something in the floor
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: one time, like some coffee grinds, went everywhere and all
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: over the house one time, just a long time ago,
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: just looking for a vacuum clean.
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: May you say what you're looking for? A baby?
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: I said, vacuum clean. She says, Steve, we have central
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: fact lord in the Okay, Well, what what is that though?
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: Where is it? She said? Are you serious?
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Yeah? She said, have you not seen the house keep?
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: It's what they do, you vacuum. And I never paid
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: attention to what it was where the holes was at.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: I thought it was always thought it was in the
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: other room.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: Vacuum in the closet.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: Thought it was a eureka, man, I've been looking all
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: up dusty.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: All right, coming up our last break of the day
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: and some closing remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: You're listening Harvey Morning Show. All right, guys, this is
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: our last break of the day and it is time
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: or some closing remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: Well, it's been a good day. Let me ask you,
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: guys a question, just off the top of your head.
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: What do you all and anybody can answer this question.
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: What do you think is probably the number one cause
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: that gets in the way of people moving forward or
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: what has gotten in the way of you over the
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: years from moving forward, Because I mean it happens to
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: all of us, myself included. I'm just asking a question
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: to the crew.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Fear of failure, tell your fear of.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: Success, sometimes trying to fix the past, wow, and lack
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: of faith.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: Well, okay, let me address three things. This is actually
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: I'm gonna try to do this quickly. Let's talk about
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: fixing the past. Let's talk briefly about fear, and let's
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: talk about the fear of being successful. Let's start with
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: the fear of being successful. A lot of people have
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: a fear of becoming successful because they're not sure of
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: the requirements that will be placed on them once they
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: become successful. Some people think that they won't be able
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: to handle the regiment of being successful, and that right
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: there is you're not understanding how God works. God never
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: puts you someplace He doesn't prepare you to be. Do
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: you understand that as you become successful that you're going
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: to be tested.
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: You're going to be challenged.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: You're going to be faced with all types of situations
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: that will better you, equip you, and make you the
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: experienced person that you need to be to be in
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: the place that you're going to finally wind up in.
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: Stop being afraid of success and understand that God is
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: not going to put you in a room that you're
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: not qualified or equipped to be in. That's for starters. Now,
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: let's talk about fixing the past. You ready, you can't?
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: You can't.
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: You get no do overs in life.
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: The problem that people have when they try to fix
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: the past is because they are surrounded by people who
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: are constantly reminding them the past and telling them you're
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: not this, and you're not that, and you can't do
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: this because you did that, and I remember when you
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: did that. When you remove those people from your life
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: who are constantly trying to remind you of your past,
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: you will.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: Then lose the need to have to fix it.
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: See, but you have to fix it when there are
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: people in your life and including you, who keep.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: Bringing the past to the forefront to put it in
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: your present.
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: That's why the Lord's prayer is simple, give us this
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: day our daily bread. The Bible very rarely talks to
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: you about your past, because it's been forgiven, it's done.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: I haven't read a whole lot of scriptures to help
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: me with my past. I read a lot of scriptures
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: that talk about now. I read a lot of scriptures
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: that talks about faith, the belief in things that you
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: cannot see, trusting in his word, holding on to his
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: unchanging hand, realizing that all things are possible through him.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: I read a lot of scriptures about that. But nothing
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: is more prevalent in our life today than the Lord's prayer,
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: which clearly says, give us this day our daily bread.
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: Because tomorrow you have no control over now. You can
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: have hopes for tomorrow, You can have plans for tomorrow.
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: You can have visions and aspirations for tomorrow. But everything
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: about tomorrow, which I have finally learned should be, should
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: be tempered with the remark if it's God's will and
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: in God's timing. That way, it releases me from having
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: to be worried about the timing of an event, because
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: just because it's been denied, just because it's been delayed aid,
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: does not mean that it's been denied.
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: I had to learn that, so fixing your past can't
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: be done. What's done is done.
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: First thing you want to do about fixing the past,
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: remove people from your life who are constantly reminding you
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: of your past. And then, secondly, forgive yourself, just as
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: God has done. I used to do it to myself
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: all the time. Even at my daughter's wedding, I made
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: the statement, I said, I've spent all of my adult
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: life trying to fix the mistakes I made as a
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: young man. You know what Bishop Jakes told me, who
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: was at my daughter's win He said, you too hard
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: on yourself. He said, you too hard on yourself. You
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: need to stop doing that to yourself, Steve. And he
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: was right, because I keep trying to do that, and
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: I had to stop and last, but not least, let's
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: just talk about fear itself. The majority of us have
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: a fear of success and a fear of failure because
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: we don't have a strong enough relationship with God. I'm
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: telling you, man, God erases fear. God puts you in
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: a comfort zone. I mean, if you think about it
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: just for a second. Everybody, everything that you've ever gone through,
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: and I've said this, I can't tell you how many
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: times on the show. Everything you've gone through, every challenge
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: you've ever had, every setback, every hardship you've managed somehow
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: to this point to get past all of them. Your
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: track record for surviving rough days and challenges is one
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: hundred percent. Why would God not continue to do that
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: for you? Lose your fear because God is near. Lose
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: your fear because God is near. Those are the three
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: things I wanted to address. Thank you for giving me
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: those closing remarks.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: I have a great day. Talk to God. He love
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: to hear from you. See you tomorrow.
