- 1:58Speaker 1: on your back at it. Uh huh. I shall will
- 2:03Speaker 1: come on and everybody you're listening to the voice, come
- 2:06Speaker 1: on dig me now. One and only Steve Harvey got
- 2:10Speaker 1: a radio show. Man, if if if I had time
- 2:14Speaker 1: enough to tell the whole trip, the whole journey, and
- 2:18Speaker 1: y'all would be sitting up in there going, okay, Steve,
- 2:20Speaker 1: are we gonna play the show this week? But man,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's been a lot of amazing things has has happened
- 2:28Speaker 1: to me over the years, um and and not all
- 2:33Speaker 1: of them good. It's been some amazingly bad things that
- 2:36Speaker 1: have happened too. But I just come on in the
- 2:40Speaker 1: morning as a reminder to everybody of of of the
- 2:44Speaker 1: actual goodness of God that you know, man, that these
- 2:47Speaker 1: mistakes that you're making, that these setbacks that you keep having,
- 2:53Speaker 1: that these falls that keep occurring in your life, that
- 2:57Speaker 1: they all are leading you somewhere. If you us don't
- 3:00Speaker 1: ever give up. That's the key. You can never ever
- 3:04Speaker 1: give up because you don't know how the trip has
- 3:09Speaker 1: been laid out for you. You know, if somebody had
- 3:13Speaker 1: told me, um years ago, when I had the dream
- 3:18Speaker 1: of being on TV and then I thought about being
- 3:20Speaker 1: a one of one of the best comedians I could be.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You know when when I when I started, somebody had
- 3:27Speaker 1: told me everything that was gonna have to happen in
- 3:32Speaker 1: order for me to get there, I would have changed it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I would have I would have said, Okay, well I
- 3:38Speaker 1: ain't gonna be that. How about this? See and and
- 3:42Speaker 1: no one can know all of the events of their
- 3:45Speaker 1: life ahead of time. You know. It would be so nice,
- 3:48Speaker 1: whenn't it. You know, to prepare for it, see it coming,
- 3:52Speaker 1: be aware of the haters, always knowing when the backstabbing
- 3:57Speaker 1: moment is coming in your life, always knowing when you're
- 4:01Speaker 1: gonna get blindsided by the enemy. We're really great to
- 4:04Speaker 1: know that, wouldn't it. Well, that's not how it works,
- 4:07Speaker 1: So since no one knows exactly the challenges and the
- 4:14Speaker 1: pitfalls and the detools that's gonna be set them. It's
- 4:20Speaker 1: it's it's imperative that you just don't give up because see,
- 4:24Speaker 1: knowing these things, we as human beings by nature, would
- 4:31Speaker 1: choose another route. But it ain't the route God God
- 4:34Speaker 1: for you, though. See the route God God for you.
- 4:37Speaker 1: If you if you're trying to do the right thing,
- 4:40Speaker 1: if you're doing the best you can, if you ain't
- 4:43Speaker 1: out here just intentionally just messing over, folks, if you're
- 4:47Speaker 1: using faith and that's the belief in things that you
- 4:50Speaker 1: cannot see. If you have something on the inside of
- 4:54Speaker 1: you to keep saying there's got to be more to
- 4:56Speaker 1: life than that, then that's that's you. You, my friend,
- 5:00Speaker 1: have a great chance here. And if you've ever had
- 5:03Speaker 1: that feeling and gave up on it, just get it back.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Just asked for it back. Just say, hey, man, I'm
- 5:10Speaker 1: getting back to the way I used to be because
- 5:13Speaker 1: there's a change that's available in your life, but you
- 5:16Speaker 1: gotta take it. You gotta take a shot at it. Folks.
- 5:19Speaker 1: There's a chance for you to get it right, but
- 5:22Speaker 1: you gotta take a shot at it. Folks, there's a
- 5:24Speaker 1: chance for you to turn this whole thing around with
- 5:27Speaker 1: God's help, But you gotta take a shot at it.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You see, this decision is yours. The decision to lay
- 5:35Speaker 1: down and give up, there's yours. It ain't. It just
- 5:37Speaker 1: got too hard for me. Life too much, man, life
- 5:41Speaker 1: hard and too much for everybody. What I gotta get
- 5:44Speaker 1: you to see is if you don't lay down and
- 5:48Speaker 1: give into it, there's some great things in store for
- 5:51Speaker 1: your life. Because all of the things every lesson I've
- 5:55Speaker 1: ever ever learned, the best lesson has been a boult lesson.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And my father used to always tell me, he said,
- 6:03Speaker 1: so best lessons in life the born your value and
- 6:06Speaker 1: learn the most is about lesson. I didn't quite understand
- 6:10Speaker 1: that being young, but I showed God it now ain't
- 6:14Speaker 1: no lesson like a bout lesson, the one you pay for.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Those are the ones that hold to you, that stick
- 6:20Speaker 1: to you, that that that start turning you into who
- 6:23Speaker 1: you're gonna be. Those are the character builders. See, um,
- 6:27Speaker 1: you got to be forged to get to where you
- 6:30Speaker 1: want to go in life. So that's what the challenges
- 6:32Speaker 1: and missteps is for. That's what the failing is about. Now,
- 6:36Speaker 1: I know you don't like it. I didn't. I know
- 6:38Speaker 1: you're not comfortable when I wouldn't. I know you wish
- 6:42Speaker 1: it was over sooner than later. I always do. I
- 6:45Speaker 1: always wanted to be over sooner than later because the
- 6:49Speaker 1: later manager seems like it's so much I gotta go through.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But let me tell you something, man, if you can,
- 6:56Speaker 1: if you can Ford your way through it and understand
- 6:59Speaker 1: that you are forged in life, I don't know. I
- 7:03Speaker 1: was on TBN one time when I was doing one
- 7:05Speaker 1: of my motivational speeches, and I began to wonder about
- 7:11Speaker 1: this experience I had at Ford Motor Company, and um,
- 7:15Speaker 1: one of the things that I had came to the
- 7:18Speaker 1: realization of was that that job at Ford mot Motor
- 7:21Speaker 1: Company taught me a couple of valuable lessons. First of all,
- 7:25Speaker 1: that I had to be at work on time, because
- 7:27Speaker 1: I always was. I had a really, really good work record. Man,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I was a great employee because I because I didn't
- 7:35Speaker 1: want to disappoint anybody. You know, I already saw the
- 7:39Speaker 1: look on my parents face when I flunked out of college.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I didn't I wanted my father to know that I
- 7:45Speaker 1: was a hard worker. And so when I got the
- 7:48Speaker 1: job at Ford. I wanted to prove to my father,
- 7:51Speaker 1: my mother, you know, the the nay says, hey man,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I know how to stick to something. But my last job,
- 7:58Speaker 1: after the auto industry start going down, my last job
- 8:01Speaker 1: was in the foundry and my job was to stand
- 8:06Speaker 1: at the end almost where the engines first come out
- 8:10Speaker 1: of the furnace. See, the engines are poured into a mold.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's hot, melted down metal whatever they call it, lava
- 8:18Speaker 1: or whatever. They poured into a mold and it goes
- 8:21Speaker 1: into this furnace that's extremely hot. And my job was
- 8:27Speaker 1: after the heat was applied to the engine block, it
- 8:31Speaker 1: would come through and it would it would go through
- 8:34Speaker 1: a hardening stage. But the way it was hardening, they
- 8:36Speaker 1: would cool it. Suddenly they would flush it with water.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It was just blast water on it. But the fire
- 8:43Speaker 1: and the high temperature is what made the engine block solidified.
- 8:49Speaker 1: It's because it's gotta get real hot, get melted down first.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Then it's got to get poured into a mold. Then
- 8:56Speaker 1: it's gotta be pressure, hit with water and all of
- 8:59Speaker 1: this and then it and it's real hot. Now it's
- 9:02Speaker 1: still hot even though there's water been shadow but when
- 9:05Speaker 1: it comes out the end of the side, there's a
- 9:07Speaker 1: lot of flashing in it, and flashing is a metal
- 9:10Speaker 1: from that ton dripped through the cast or molding on it,
- 9:13Speaker 1: just like flecks of extra pieces of metal. My job
- 9:18Speaker 1: was to hit this engine block in the front, which
- 9:21Speaker 1: is huge, heavy rubber mallet, knock all the flashing off
- 9:27Speaker 1: the front, and when it came around back to bam,
- 9:30Speaker 1: hit it real hard again on the back side, and
- 9:34Speaker 1: that became the core of what the car is. A
- 9:38Speaker 1: car without a great engine is nothing. It's just a
- 9:41Speaker 1: pretty looking vehicle over there. But if it can't do
- 9:44Speaker 1: what it was made to do because the engine block
- 9:47Speaker 1: then cracked. So you can have a car look real good,
- 9:49Speaker 1: but if it freezes an engine block crack your car,
- 9:52Speaker 1: you can it's it's over man. You gotta get a
- 9:54Speaker 1: new block. The block is the core. But in order
- 9:58Speaker 1: for you for the car to do what it's got
- 9:59Speaker 1: to to, it's gotta have a strong engine in it.
- 10:02Speaker 1: In order for the engine to be strong, it's got
- 10:04Speaker 1: to be forged and still come through fire, get poured
- 10:07Speaker 1: in a mold, cooled off, heated, knocked around, beat on
- 10:12Speaker 1: the front end, beat on the back end, in order
- 10:14Speaker 1: for it to be what it's gonna be. The moral
- 10:16Speaker 1: of the story, folks, is you got to get forged
- 10:20Speaker 1: in fire to be what you're gonna be. You got
- 10:23Speaker 1: to get beat up, you got to get pressure washed,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you got to have heat on you, you gotta get
- 10:28Speaker 1: melted down, you gotta get poured into a mold. That's
- 10:32Speaker 1: how you become who you are. So the tough things
- 10:35Speaker 1: that you're going through, the difficult challenges and the setbacks.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I know a brother who went to prison, man, And
- 10:41Speaker 1: and the whole reason he ended up going to prison
- 10:43Speaker 1: because he was looking out the loop window looking out
- 10:46Speaker 1: in the yard and I'm working out. And then the
- 10:48Speaker 1: next thing you know, man, this brother decided that he
- 10:51Speaker 1: was gonna go out there and work out. Well, guess what,
- 10:54Speaker 1: he's one of the top trainers in country today. You're ladies, gentlemen,
- 11:04Speaker 1: boys and girls. I have your undivided attention. Please. This
- 11:11Speaker 1: is what's called a p s A, better known as
- 11:15Speaker 1: a public service announcement. You today will be tested, you
- 11:23Speaker 1: will be extended, you will be privileged mm hmm, and
- 11:30Speaker 1: you will be rewarded. We are going to find out
- 11:35Speaker 1: how well you drive in a car, how long you
- 11:40Speaker 1: can hold coffee in your mouth. We will find out
- 11:45Speaker 1: if you will be able to quiet your laughter, to
- 11:49Speaker 1: wear self maintained and not draw any attention to bosses,
- 11:54Speaker 1: from bosses or coworkers. You will be tested on your
- 11:59Speaker 1: billy of it not to laugh at things that you
- 12:02Speaker 1: know good and well you're not supposed to laugh at.
- 12:07Speaker 1: This is a test today. Come on board. We hope
- 12:12Speaker 1: that you all fail. Yes, Welcome to the Steve Harvey

- 13:02Speaker 1: something here we have yet to meet. Been that he'd
- 13:09Speaker 1: been out here a week. We ain't talked, text called,
- 13:15Speaker 1: nothing's got to be on you because he has not
- 13:21Speaker 1: next call, tweeted. The only time I talked to Tommy
- 13:27Speaker 1: is on the air with you all. So I have
- 13:29Speaker 1: decided that this mentory, it's just radio restricted me. That's
- 13:40Speaker 1: all we got, Connor, Tommy. January is coming to a close,
- 13:47Speaker 1: twenty night day. What's what's happened? We're good, We're good.
- 13:51Speaker 1: He won't let me. You know. I'm getting the apartment.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I'm getting settled here. Just hold tight, I'm coming. Excuse me, guys, guys.
- 13:59Speaker 1: If everywhere twenty eight is what I am, excuse me, guys,
- 14:04Speaker 1: you've got another note. Excuse me, guys. That's not what
- 14:07Speaker 1: he said. What is he said? January two? That's what
- 14:12Speaker 1: I was coming to town. Okay, just the first time here,
- 14:15Speaker 1: so you don't need miner and until the lastness and
- 14:19Speaker 1: love is all over, and you've made several black states.
- 14:24Speaker 1: You're black. You're entering going into spring break. Yeah, no
- 14:35Speaker 1: decisions to the twenty. You'll see what I'm up. All right, listening, guys,
- 14:41Speaker 1: that's some highlights from last night's Grammy Awards. You're listening
- 14:45Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Uh, Steve,
- 14:49Speaker 1: before we get into the Grammy Talk, go ahead with
- 14:51Speaker 1: your mentoring session on Okay, before I talk to Tommy,
- 14:56Speaker 1: just let me get some guidance myself from y'all, because
- 15:01Speaker 1: y'all hang out with Tommy. Yeah, if Tommy doesn't want
- 15:07Speaker 1: the mentoring session the first one into February eight I'm
- 15:12Speaker 1: just I'm just trying to not Okay, January twenty ninth, Okay,
- 15:23Speaker 1: so let me say that all of all of this month,
- 15:26Speaker 1: now we've been to do all of February, y'all don't
- 15:31Speaker 1: think that he gonna make in the first two months
- 15:35Speaker 1: of a year any decisions about the new year. Oh,
- 15:39Speaker 1: I'm sure absolutely we all have. So what wouldn't you
- 15:44Speaker 1: think that now my mentory's gonna be like it's always been. Well,
- 15:49Speaker 1: when you do that, now sign that this time he's
- 15:57Speaker 1: actually he says this time, Steve, he's says he's actually
- 16:01Speaker 1: going to listen to you. You had to say that
- 16:03Speaker 1: before because he didn't listen, But not just because he
- 16:07Speaker 1: started made the decision. If he's already decided this is
- 16:12Speaker 1: what he's doing. I mean you, really, two thousand and
- 16:15Speaker 1: eighteen in this business should practically be mapped out by now. Really, well,
- 16:23Speaker 1: there they're tapped out. There's such things as late bloomer, Steve.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Maybe Tommy's a late bloomer. He's starting a little late.
- 16:33Speaker 1: He fitted in the year, not in his chronological age. Now,
- 16:40Speaker 1: what he's saying, Shirley is that Tommy he ain't no late.
- 16:45Speaker 1: That's what late bloomers means. Though. How long Tommy just moved.
- 16:55Speaker 1: He's got to get settled in. Okay, So you asked
- 16:58Speaker 1: him what was happening to ship? Okay, what's happening Tommy?
- 17:02Speaker 1: What's going on? I'm right here in case say I
- 17:05Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know, surely I said, I said,
- 17:08Speaker 1: you wait until February Twitter eight fall it was you. Okay,
- 17:13Speaker 1: let me say, let's backtracks moving, Okay, Okay, here we go.
- 17:17Speaker 1: So I'm in l A today, Uncle Steve all the
- 17:21Speaker 1: way to Fry. Do you have any time this week?
- 17:25Speaker 1: I come up to the show, not where we are.
- 17:30Speaker 1: That's what they did before Junior. We kind of like that,
- 17:42Speaker 1: you know, they act like they like they worked the
- 17:44Speaker 1: wall and game. I mean even his lunch, this book,
- 17:50Speaker 1: it's books solid. This is what they did him. That's
- 17:55Speaker 1: how I got February because we love the schooeze you in.
- 17:57Speaker 1: But you're gonna go that's Mr Team till me right there.
- 18:03Speaker 1: You I mean, he got all his lunche braces book
- 18:07Speaker 1: to Oh my god, when does he eat, When does
- 18:11Speaker 1: he eat forty five, three, forty six. He's got to
- 18:16Speaker 1: squeeze that in six. He's got to be finishing. Back
- 18:20Speaker 1: on the We got a drum roll for a date.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I have an Okay, tom can you just give me
- 18:28Speaker 1: and I can start, give me the first subject we'll discuss,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and I can start. I can start texting you information
- 18:36Speaker 1: to even start considering. M M. That's that's that's because
- 18:45Speaker 1: it doesn't people on the board. Who was the people?
- 18:49Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Junior and j We're trying
- 18:55Speaker 1: to work to get you in now. I got two
- 18:57Speaker 1: men recessions already in that because I hand no problem
- 19:01Speaker 1: going in the back room and asked, right, because you're

- 19:52Speaker 1: New York City and the show's producers wanted to switch
- 19:55Speaker 1: things up a bit. YEP. After being snubbed and overlooked
- 19:58Speaker 1: in major categories for nearly four decades, hip hop figures
- 20:02Speaker 1: led the pack in nominations. Here Here all Right. Jay

- 20:47Speaker 1: including Childish Gambino, Stay Woke, Pig Scissor, and Kendrick Lamar
- 20:53Speaker 1: with his explosive set with you two and Dave Chappelle. Wow,
- 20:57Speaker 1: take a listen, all right, I'm doing Chapelle and I
- 21:05Speaker 1: just wanted to remind the audience that the only thing
- 21:08Speaker 1: more frightened than watching a butt man be honest in
- 21:11Speaker 1: America is being an honest black man in America. Sorry
- 21:17Speaker 1: for the interruption, Please continue. I got a lot of
- 21:20Speaker 1: guys in this building right now that I still out
- 21:21Speaker 1: of lost to this day. Jay Z nas Puff, you know,
- 21:26Speaker 1: these guys showed me the game through their lives from
- 21:28Speaker 1: close and from afar. So with that being said, this
- 21:32Speaker 1: show for the hip hop real talk. That's love baby,
- 21:34Speaker 1: Jay for President, nothing for Monique for comedy. Alright, Music's
- 21:42Speaker 1: biggest night was unbelievable. It was good. But Monday. It
- 21:46Speaker 1: is Monday, so get ready for Reverend Motown and Deacon
- 21:49Speaker 1: depth Jam. They're up next with church Complaints. You're listening

- 21:58Speaker 1: news and of course highlights from last night's Grammys. But
- 22:01Speaker 1: right now it is time for taking Deaf Jam and
- 22:04Speaker 1: Reverend Motown with today's church complaints. M hm oh yeah,
- 22:18Speaker 1: oh lord, ma, my mama, that's Johnny Gil if you
- 22:30Speaker 1: want to know. Yeah, man, man, man, look we are
- 22:37Speaker 1: here again from this great Monday moon, not to give
- 22:44Speaker 1: thanks but to give complaints. Wait a minute now to
- 22:53Speaker 1: twitch and moan about things going on. Yes, I have
- 23:02Speaker 1: the most ungrateful congregation. We're not every man ever galvl
- 23:12Speaker 1: on the across and who leaves them? Now we bring
- 23:19Speaker 1: off of the bad news. Just this was my friend.
- 23:25Speaker 1: We are still. I gave him the position of deacon.
- 23:31Speaker 1: He was working down at the car wash doing wheels. Yeah,
- 23:36Speaker 1: picked him up, turned him round, RASHAWNDI really good ladies
- 23:54Speaker 1: and genera uh death jail. Yes, I get mine and
- 24:00Speaker 1: everyone and passed them all in Motown. We have a situation, Pastor.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I don't know if you know about this. The u
- 24:09Speaker 1: f C Church had fighting team, all right. The u
- 24:14Speaker 1: f C Traits Hat fighting team has the first fight
- 24:19Speaker 1: on Saturday against Mount Zion Mission. They're about to church
- 24:22Speaker 1: our very own sister Barbretta Daniels is favored to have
- 24:28Speaker 1: them tapping out in less than one minute. The issue
- 24:30Speaker 1: is that the team wants to paint the church van
- 24:34Speaker 1: with a slogan Sister Slam Squad and uh, it's gonna
- 24:39Speaker 1: be up to you only if you're gonna let these
- 24:41Speaker 1: sisters paint on the van. I have told his sisters
- 24:45Speaker 1: that Dave got to Martin. Now they have raps, now
- 24:49Speaker 1: that you can do your truck in the wrap alright,
- 24:52Speaker 1: don't make sister barb Bretta man ask you where hell
- 24:55Speaker 1: you cat Bretta can wrap the church. And what the
- 24:58Speaker 1: slogan is again, d the slogan is r R Sister
- 25:04Speaker 1: slam squad. Wrap it in that, But you can't paint
- 25:07Speaker 1: the van. All right, leave the van right and don't
- 25:14Speaker 1: ain't the van wrap it in and make sure to
- 25:17Speaker 1: cross the showwood. Make sure crowds. Of course, a lot
- 25:23Speaker 1: of childs will be trying to cut through craft traffic.
- 25:25Speaker 1: We need that cross showing culture. Church van's actually all
- 25:28Speaker 1: old used ambulems, right right, all right, here we go,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I pastor the wig band that had struck again, only
- 25:38Speaker 1: this time he did not go after the sisters. He
- 25:42Speaker 1: pulled brother sherman baptize wig Off and his wife had
- 25:47Speaker 1: no idea. And yeah, he wants to sue the church
- 25:51Speaker 1: called Sister Claudine Baptiste is now leaving him. What the
- 25:58Speaker 1: breaking up couples at the church. I don't understand this,
- 26:02Speaker 1: He'll complaine. Let me tell you what. One month time
- 26:06Speaker 1: the wig band not understanding church gets sued where the
- 26:14Speaker 1: church has not caught the wig bandit pastor and not
- 26:17Speaker 1: the band is losing his wife because the white didn't
- 26:20Speaker 1: know about him wearing his hats. He didn't know anything
- 26:23Speaker 1: at all. Well, Degan, I don't really know how the
- 26:28Speaker 1: church is hell loable where you got this wig band
- 26:32Speaker 1: running around and we we we ain't got nothing. Dam
- 26:36Speaker 1: don't get mad at me. I'm just telling you this
- 26:39Speaker 1: just a city wide crisis, alright. He ain't just open
- 26:43Speaker 1: the here, jackpot I didn't know he was hit another church, yes, yes,
- 26:48Speaker 1: so alright this nationwide? Who knew he taking busses? He
- 26:59Speaker 1: crossed he to cross town week bed all right. I
- 27:06Speaker 1: don't know what to tell him, Okay, I fixed that on.
- 27:10Speaker 1: He has a serious issue. Brother Kurt Franklin, Uh won't
- 27:14Speaker 1: ask the boycott T D. Jake's and the Potter's house
- 27:18Speaker 1: for offering him three hundred and fifth it out of
- 27:20Speaker 1: the scene at three o'clock service. He says he knows
- 27:24Speaker 1: for sure that they paid Fred Hammond five times that
- 27:27Speaker 1: at ten o'clock service. Your thoughts passed on the boycott.
- 27:32Speaker 1: We not getting involved with boycotting anything. Bishop Jake's do.
- 27:37Speaker 1: He has a mega church. We got thirty two members.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I mean, well, what really, what are we gonna do?
- 27:47Speaker 1: I mean, do we rather want to krect your saying here?
- 27:50Speaker 1: I don't know what to tell? Well, let me ask
- 27:53Speaker 1: you this. You gotta get into fight and try to
- 27:57Speaker 1: whoop somebody you want to. You want to get jumped
- 27:59Speaker 1: on about Kirk wrinkling, or you won't get jumped on
- 28:01Speaker 1: by Fred heaven, Now i'd have I'd have to Kirk
- 28:04Speaker 1: damp on me. I don't want to bring it a
- 28:05Speaker 1: little last on down here. Let's get a story. We're
- 28:12Speaker 1: gonna leave, having log and having from Detroit, had a
- 28:15Speaker 1: birthday too last week, having come with other issues and
- 28:20Speaker 1: other people your so m alright, so t Kirk. We're
- 28:26Speaker 1: not gonna to our cat with him. Alright, No, no, no,
- 28:29Speaker 1: not at all. Alright, matter of fact, stop that, pastor
- 28:38Speaker 1: come on there, Ah, brother Abraham had a birthday, Kirk.
- 28:43Speaker 1: If you listen, don't Kirk, it's your brother Abraham. Geddrid
- 28:51Speaker 1: has been telling members that he is one percent Hebrew
- 28:56Speaker 1: and that he is from Israel. He alstop telling them
- 28:59Speaker 1: that most of the people in the Bible he is
- 29:02Speaker 1: kin too. Ah, he's telling them to come have a
- 29:05Speaker 1: private Bible study with him, because you don't. He knows
- 29:09Speaker 1: more than you do that all that might be true,
- 29:16Speaker 1: But he ain't no Hebrew path that his land ain't Geltre.
- 29:21Speaker 1: His last name is Gretry and his first name is Abraham. Yeah,
- 29:28Speaker 1: let's go over some of the Abrahams that could possibly
- 29:31Speaker 1: be Hebrew other than him. Was Abraham Lincoln Hebrew? N No?
- 29:39Speaker 1: Was Abraham Jackson Hebrew? Not that I know. Abraham Willis
- 29:46Speaker 1: was Hebrew? He was not? Now he was not? So
- 29:51Speaker 1: he and the hell is Abraham gidrill gonna be he?
- 29:54Speaker 1: I have no earth the idea go by? If he
- 29:59Speaker 1: was related all the people in the Bible, why is
- 30:02Speaker 1: he working down at the toast question? You don't think
- 30:10Speaker 1: that the Lord would all would have done something special
- 30:14Speaker 1: in his life by now? All right, uh, pastor deacon,
- 30:20Speaker 1: And we gotta get out of here, coming up at
- 30:22Speaker 1: the top of the hour. You done at just tas
- 30:26Speaker 1: you was to the low. More highlights from last night
- 30:31Speaker 1: Grammy Awards and MS and will be here with today's
- 30:34Speaker 1: national news and headlines. You're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 30:38Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, Steve. Last night, of course, was
- 30:42Speaker 1: music's biggest night. It was the Grammys, the sixtieth Annual
- 30:46Speaker 1: Grammy Awards. They were back in New York City at
- 30:48Speaker 1: Madison Square Garden. This show was really good. Have to
- 30:51Speaker 1: keep me abreast because I noticed it's gonna come as
- 30:54Speaker 1: a surprise to you. What I didn't see it just
- 31:03Speaker 1: you weren't glued. You usually washed the Grammys all the time.
- 31:07Speaker 1: I ain't know. Yes, your dare you watched them last year?
- 31:10Speaker 1: We talked about No, I saw Kendrick Lamar and last
- 31:15Speaker 1: night watch it. I just happen to be cutting through,
- 31:19Speaker 1: But I went, I wasn't cutting through last night because
- 31:21Speaker 1: I was glued to NIT. I was glued to TV. Yeah,
- 31:26Speaker 1: all right, humble, come on now. Yeah, the show was good.
- 31:33Speaker 1: It was good last night. After being snubbed and overlooked,
- 31:36Speaker 1: hip hop led the pack of nominations. Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno,
- 31:40Speaker 1: Mars Scissor, Khalid Um, Childish Gambino, DJ Khalid, Rihanna, et cetera.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Here's some of the highlights. Check it out, and the
- 31:49Speaker 1: Grammy goes to Loyalty Kendrick Lamar, and the Grammy goes
- 31:56Speaker 1: to your Grammy goes to Damn Kendrick Lamar, and the
- 32:04Speaker 1: Grammy goes to Dave Chappelle and the Grammy goes to
- 32:11Speaker 1: That's what I Like, And the Grammy goes two Funny
- 32:20Speaker 1: Cars and the Grammy goes to four karat Magic Damas.
- 32:32Speaker 1: All right, Steve, you know we absolutely love us from
- 32:35Speaker 1: Kendrick Lamar, some jay Z, DJ Khalid, Rihanna, on and on. Well,
- 32:40Speaker 1: tomorrow is another big night the President of these United States.
- 32:47Speaker 1: That's the deliver to deliver his first State of the
- 32:51Speaker 1: Union speech, is the State of the Union address. So
- 32:55Speaker 1: speaking of being glued to the TV, we got boycast behind,
- 32:58Speaker 1: that's what you mean because he's all you're gonna hear
- 33:05Speaker 1: I probably listen to me. No, no, no, no, all
- 33:08Speaker 1: you're gonna hear. Right right, I did it right, you know,
- 33:13Speaker 1: I changed the economy. He's gonna talk about the economy.
- 33:16Speaker 1: He's going to talk about the strongest military. He's going
- 33:19Speaker 1: to talk about the lowest rate unemployment for African Americans.
- 33:25Speaker 1: He's gonna talk about the highest numbers in the stock market.
- 33:30Speaker 1: He's gonna talk about all of that. That's what this
- 33:33Speaker 1: whole thing is going to be focused on, border control,
- 33:39Speaker 1: making this country safe again. That's all He's gonna talk
- 33:43Speaker 1: about the State of the Trump Address. But there's a
- 33:48Speaker 1: lot of people boycotting. You know, a lot of mayors
- 33:52Speaker 1: are definitely boy yeah yeah, yo oh yeah. I mean
- 34:02Speaker 1: you know, come on now, no, just some people have
- 34:08Speaker 1: decided not to watch. He wants you to watch, but
- 34:11Speaker 1: there are a lot of people who have decided not
- 34:13Speaker 1: to even go and not to watch. But Steve is
- 34:15Speaker 1: that one black guy gonna be there, you know, you know,
- 34:18Speaker 1: the one I'm talking about the long Pony Deal or whatever.
- 34:22Speaker 1: He is Trump right right there. So that's going on
- 34:29Speaker 1: tomorrow night. Uh? Is it on Netflix Towork? Yeah, it'll
- 34:35Speaker 1: be everywhere tomorrow night or tonight. It's tomorrow night. Okay,
- 34:41Speaker 1: i gotta do two shows. I gotta do two shows.
- 34:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna probably miss it. Do you think? All right?
- 34:46Speaker 1: Miss Anne's here. Come on, let's ladies and gentlemen, she's here,
- 34:50Speaker 1: miss Anne Trip, Thank you very much, everybody. Good morning,
- 34:54Speaker 1: Good morning everybody. And this is the news. Well, casino
- 34:57Speaker 1: mogul Steve Wynn is a reportedly leaving his post as
- 35:00Speaker 1: GOP finance chair amid the purports of sexual impropriety. Steve Win,
- 35:04Speaker 1: a big donor to the Republican Party, has led the
- 35:07Speaker 1: party's national committees fundraising efforts ever since Donald Trump took
- 35:10Speaker 1: office and selected him to do it. However, the Wall
- 35:13Speaker 1: Street Journal reports at a number of women who worked
- 35:15Speaker 1: for Steve Win say they've been harassed or assaulted by
- 35:18Speaker 1: the casino owner, and that one case actually led to
- 35:21Speaker 1: a seven and a half million dollars settlement with the manicures.
- 35:24Speaker 1: That's according to the Wall Street Journal. The RNC says
- 35:26Speaker 1: it has accepted wins resignation. Meanwhile, Florida's Republican Senator Marco
- 35:30Speaker 1: Rubio says he's fired his chief of staff after reports
- 35:33Speaker 1: of improper conduct with subordinates. President Trump scheduled to make
- 35:36Speaker 1: his first day the Union addressed tomorrow night. It's as
- 35:39Speaker 1: a suggesting that he's going to sound more compromising than combative.
- 35:42Speaker 1: We'll see. Trump will reportedly try and sell the nation
- 35:45Speaker 1: on his economic and tax policies, as well as how
- 35:48Speaker 1: he wants to change the country's the immigration is set up.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It's only about a week and a half away before
- 35:53Speaker 1: the current federal stopgap funding bill expires one component of
- 35:57Speaker 1: the measure as an immigration deal that protects the so
- 35:59Speaker 1: called dreamers, young folks board here illegally as kids. The
- 36:02Speaker 1: president sentiments on the issue, you know, have gone from
- 36:04Speaker 1: hot to cold. But last week Trump proposed giving and
- 36:06Speaker 1: the estimated to one point eight million undocumented young people
- 36:09Speaker 1: a pathway to citizenship in exchange for Democrats backing his
- 36:13Speaker 1: twenty five billion dollars to finish that borderble. He's talking
- 36:16Speaker 1: about democrats like Santa Joe Manchin says at the beginning,
- 36:19Speaker 1: Republican Senator McCarthy says, the bills the least promising. I
- 36:22Speaker 1: think the President did the right thing by laying out
- 36:24Speaker 1: where he wants to be, where he thinks the starting
- 36:27Speaker 1: point is we've got to decide do we go large,
- 36:29Speaker 1: do we go medium, or do we go small. Both
- 36:33Speaker 1: lawmakers were on NBC's Meet the Press and last night's
- 36:37Speaker 1: sixtieth Grammy Awards a ceremony. Bruno Mars won six Grammys,
- 36:42Speaker 1: uh and including this one for Song of the Year,
- 36:45Speaker 1: which is, uh, that's what I like, That's what I like.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Jay Z was nominated for eight, but he was shut out.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Neil Diamond Queen and
- 36:54Speaker 1: the always gorgeous and super talented Tina Turner. And that's
- 36:59Speaker 1: what I again, Tom said. The box office when a
- 37:01Speaker 1: lot of folks watched and like this weekend, they went
- 37:04Speaker 1: to the movies, and yes, there were a lot of
- 37:06Speaker 1: things coming on for the first time the first time.
- 37:09Speaker 1: For instance, Blade Blaze, Runner of the Death Cure. That
- 37:12Speaker 1: was the third and final installment. A Blade rund of
- 37:15Speaker 1: Death Cure was number one. They took you because you're
- 37:18Speaker 1: immune blague that's wiping out the human race. They think
- 37:24Speaker 1: you're worst sacrificing to find a cure. I don't know
- 37:27Speaker 1: if they'll find a cure. Eugie the Butterfly twenty minutes
- 37:30Speaker 1: after the hour, stay tuned to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 37:32Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve,
- 37:36Speaker 1: please introduce Ja, Ja, Please introduce the Butterfly. Happily, Happily downhill,
- 37:44Speaker 1: change your head? How can he come to work? Realizing
- 37:46Speaker 1: that this segment is almost done but it's not famous
- 37:50Speaker 1: on the embarrassing and humiliating for him, Well, I'm just
- 37:53Speaker 1: killing him. Do you know a better flack? That? Okay?
- 38:01Speaker 1: I want to saying too, did you know did you
- 38:05Speaker 1: know he's still here today? Have you known the butterfly?
- 38:16Speaker 1: I know him? Have you seen the butterfly right here?
- 38:26Speaker 1: Good morning everyone, Good morning, Peter. Lift the butterfly because
- 38:31Speaker 1: he's not here, he's right now. I said, I'm right here.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Don't do that. Don't do that. Everything must come to it,
- 38:39Speaker 1: just like him. Good morning everyone, Junior Carlos about the stress,
- 38:50Speaker 1: Good morning, but futter you be strong, great money. I
- 38:56Speaker 1: am strong. I am strong. I am strong. I am strong,
- 38:59Speaker 1: strong in the strike off. Good morning. So just something
- 39:03Speaker 1: to let you out now that I went to the
- 39:04Speaker 1: Grammys and you did. But I had tar all but
- 39:09Speaker 1: seats because Tommy got tar with I'm sitting way in
- 39:12Speaker 1: the back and I wanted to m talk to you
- 39:16Speaker 1: about you in the back, way in the back. Couldn't
- 39:20Speaker 1: see nothing. It's called way in the top. Yeah, well
- 39:24Speaker 1: that's what I mean. But well I've been and let
- 39:30Speaker 1: me just say, had you had better seats, you would
- 39:32Speaker 1: have had a great time. Yeah. But I want to
- 39:34Speaker 1: say this, being part of this show and I allowed
- 39:38Speaker 1: to represent the Sea Morning Show, would at least be
- 39:40Speaker 1: on the you know, like tenth thrower or something. Is
- 39:42Speaker 1: there a way because yeah, because we don't. We don't
- 39:47Speaker 1: really get too much participation with the Grammys, so and
- 39:51Speaker 1: if we do, Shirley and Cally usually go. But they
- 39:55Speaker 1: don't even want a guy. I'm the one that wants
- 39:57Speaker 1: to be there, and you know they're more important comple
- 40:00Speaker 1: on it to the show. That's why they get off
- 40:02Speaker 1: the Grammar request them. They don't even know who you are.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Why are you always so negative to me? They don't
- 40:09Speaker 1: know just thing you're saying. My segment is going down?
- 40:12Speaker 1: Damn hell? Why do you do this? So? Why do
- 40:14Speaker 1: you say these things to me? Well? Truth, you're almost
- 40:17Speaker 1: out of here, Steve, No, what do you want me
- 40:21Speaker 1: to do? Shirley, don't worry about it, because you know
- 40:27Speaker 1: why I've been thinking about it. I've been I've been
- 40:31Speaker 1: called to preach and that may speak. That must be.
- 40:33Speaker 1: What I need to do is to leave this. Hey,
- 40:37Speaker 1: the Lord holds on. Okay, it's good to be here
- 40:45Speaker 1: to murder another hit? Uh coming up at thirty four. Jesus,
- 40:52Speaker 1: you're listening to Steve show a right, Steve, it is

- 41:29Speaker 1: so much time, Steve, Please, I'm telling it's crazy. And

- 45:10Speaker 1: a bad speech giver is he's reading so it's never fluid.
- 45:19Speaker 1: He doesn't read fluid. And then he goes off script
- 45:22Speaker 1: and then he got to get back on script. He
- 45:24Speaker 1: should just go off scripts in front of him. A
- 45:33Speaker 1: world of trouble. Yeah, but when he goes we know
- 45:35Speaker 1: how he really feels. That's how he really Yeah, when
- 45:39Speaker 1: he goes on the White House said that. Okay, all right, listen,
- 45:43Speaker 1: uh when we come back. The nephew has a prank
- 45:46Speaker 1: phone call right after this. You're listening to Steve Harvey
- 45:50Speaker 1: Morning Show coming up at the top of the hour,
- 45:52Speaker 1: right about four minutes after today's Strawberry letter, the subject
- 45:56Speaker 1: me and my man have a little situation. Keep word
- 46:01Speaker 1: little in that, But I'm next nephew Tommy right here
- 46:04Speaker 1: with today's prank phone call. What you got your son too? Fat?
- 46:10Speaker 1: Tommy Fat? They with me? One more time. Your son
- 46:17Speaker 1: too fat? Here? Here? Here? Were you overweight as a child, Jane?
- 46:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, all weight as an adult. I can tell.
- 46:28Speaker 1: I can tell he's still bitter about it. I can't
- 46:33Speaker 1: let it go. Yes, jeans and said husky on the back. Yes,
- 46:37Speaker 1: I'm still bitterer. Yeah, run a cat, your son too fat? Hello? Hello,
- 46:44Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach Cathy. Please. Um. This is hi Kathy.
- 46:47Speaker 1: This is Kirby. I'm actually the the owner at the daycare,
- 46:51Speaker 1: Mine's daycare when your son comes. Alright, I'm sure you're
- 46:55Speaker 1: familiar with my wife, Anita. All right, how are you
- 46:58Speaker 1: doing today? I'm good? Oh, how's a little little divine?
- 47:02Speaker 1: How's he doing? He's good. He's laying down taking a nap. Okay,
- 47:06Speaker 1: you guys been coming here. I guess about a year now, right, yes,
- 47:09Speaker 1: since he was one. Okay, listen, I wanted to give
- 47:12Speaker 1: you a call. I'm looking at some some information I
- 47:15Speaker 1: was I was Divine doing at home? Is he is
- 47:18Speaker 1: he eating properly at home? When you say eating, what
- 47:21Speaker 1: do you mean? I mean? Is he getting uh meals
- 47:24Speaker 1: every time he's supposed to get them while he's at home? Yeah,
- 47:29Speaker 1: he's dotting pretty good. Okay, Now there's there's there's no
- 47:32Speaker 1: situation where you guys may be a shortage of food
- 47:35Speaker 1: or anything like that. Are you uh as the food? No, sir,
- 47:41Speaker 1: my husband works real good. We don't have a problem
- 47:43Speaker 1: with as short as the food. Is there a problem
- 47:45Speaker 1: with him? Well, you know we're looking at the records
- 47:48Speaker 1: and little divines too. Have you looked at the comparison
- 47:53Speaker 1: of two year olds the majority of two year olds
- 47:56Speaker 1: and in comparison to I guess I should say size
- 47:59Speaker 1: and comparison to the bond side, you mean like in
- 48:02Speaker 1: body way, buddy size. I mean he's a little tall.
- 48:06Speaker 1: You know, he wasn't a small chat when his born
- 48:08Speaker 1: he was ten pounds. But no, he's on the scale
- 48:11Speaker 1: of right where he should be. He's just a little,
- 48:14Speaker 1: you know, taller because his daddy is tall. But he's
- 48:16Speaker 1: doing so. You're you don't think he's anywhere in the
- 48:21Speaker 1: in the ballpark of of of of of obesity at
- 48:25Speaker 1: two you mean fat? I mean, I didn't want to
- 48:27Speaker 1: be blunt, but but but Ms Cathy, you're I mean,
- 48:32Speaker 1: I mean your sons. Let me just say on a Sunday,
- 48:35Speaker 1: I'm relaxed and we're talking about you think my son
- 48:39Speaker 1: is a little overweight or what he's what's the problem? Well,
- 48:43Speaker 1: I mean I think he's fat, you know, and and
- 48:46Speaker 1: and the problem I'm I'm noticing the records of everything
- 48:50Speaker 1: is wait, wait, wait, wait, we need to back up
- 48:52Speaker 1: to you think he's sat I've never spoken to you,
- 48:55Speaker 1: Mr Kirby. Is that what she said? My name is Kirby. Okay,
- 48:58Speaker 1: so every morning that I dropped him off for a
- 49:00Speaker 1: year and I give my daycare money. Ms Benita has
- 49:03Speaker 1: never said anything about his eating habits. So you're telling
- 49:07Speaker 1: me that you think my son is fat with him,
- 49:09Speaker 1: you deal with him on a daily basis. I don't
- 49:11Speaker 1: deal with him on a daily basis. What I'm looking
- 49:13Speaker 1: at his records that are showing me that he's eating
- 49:16Speaker 1: way more than the rest of anybody at the daycare.
- 49:19Speaker 1: And not only that, he's drinking probably a gallon of
- 49:21Speaker 1: milk a day, all in the milk. Y'all only get
- 49:24Speaker 1: snacks two times a day, and he's there only for
- 49:27Speaker 1: breakfast and lunch. And how in the hell is he
- 49:30Speaker 1: drinking a gallon of milk? And if he is, but
- 49:34Speaker 1: all I know is this, No, No, I'm blown away
- 49:36Speaker 1: by this because you're calling me on a Sunday, calling
- 49:38Speaker 1: my damn child fat. That's the problem. And your wife
- 49:41Speaker 1: has never said a damn thing. Never has she said
- 49:45Speaker 1: one thing to me in a year when she collected
- 49:46Speaker 1: my damn daycare money. She ain't said my son is
- 49:49Speaker 1: eating y'all at a house at home? Okay, Well, you
- 49:51Speaker 1: know my wife is a different person, and she tries
- 49:53Speaker 1: to be cordial with everyone. He's the one who deals
- 49:55Speaker 1: with me. Mr Kirby. I've never met you, never met you,
- 49:58Speaker 1: especially on a Sunday. Why I'm calling you on a Sunday, ma'am,
- 50:02Speaker 1: is that I know tomorrow if you're gonna be trying
- 50:04Speaker 1: to drop your son off, I am gonna drop him off.
- 50:07Speaker 1: I am don know. No, that's that's kind of the
- 50:09Speaker 1: reason why I'm calling you. Now. Here's where we can
- 50:11Speaker 1: do here. Either you can keep him at home. No,
- 50:15Speaker 1: I'm not keeping him at home. My husband works and
- 50:18Speaker 1: I work. I'm dropping my damn son off at six
- 50:21Speaker 1: and he like I do every morning. Because man listening,
- 50:24Speaker 1: if we can't get him on the side, because obviously
- 50:29Speaker 1: you ain't the one that need to be talking to me,
- 50:31Speaker 1: because if you're not there every day and I did
- 50:33Speaker 1: with your wife. I'm telling you that your son is
- 50:36Speaker 1: too big to be is coming every morning if that's
- 50:41Speaker 1: the case, and if he's eating at a house at home,
- 50:43Speaker 1: I'll send him some extra. But what I paid my
- 50:46Speaker 1: money for is what you're gonna feed him for two
- 50:49Speaker 1: full meals and two snacks. And if he needs extra,
- 50:52Speaker 1: I'll put some in his bag. But he's drinking a
- 50:54Speaker 1: gallon of milk a day or you looking here, I
- 50:58Speaker 1: don't care. There's no way possible that he can drink
- 51:00Speaker 1: a gull in the milk of day. Here's here's here's
- 51:02Speaker 1: the deal. I don't want you to have to stop
- 51:04Speaker 1: bringing your son now, and I'm not and I'm not.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Here's my second alternative. I will put him on a diet. Okay,
- 51:10Speaker 1: I'll give him an apple in the day. You ain't, no,
- 51:13Speaker 1: damn you ain't. Are you from the health food program?
- 51:16Speaker 1: I will. I will give him an apple and a
- 51:18Speaker 1: glass of water in the morning, and I'll give him
- 51:20Speaker 1: an apple and a glass of water in the evening,
- 51:22Speaker 1: and then you guys can feed him when he gets home.
- 51:24Speaker 1: You must be certified in the food program, especially if
- 51:26Speaker 1: you're sitting there telling me my damn son is one
- 51:28Speaker 1: on a diet and he's not drinking no water and
- 51:31Speaker 1: no apple. He needs a full snack. If the other
- 51:35Speaker 1: kids is having an apple and water, then that's that
- 51:37Speaker 1: you better be serving him. But if that ain't the
- 51:39Speaker 1: case in here, I'll know he better get the full snack.
- 51:41Speaker 1: So if that's graham crackers and apple juice, well damn it,
- 51:43Speaker 1: that's what my son better be getting. And if he
- 51:44Speaker 1: won't extra, he better get it. Listen, all I'm trying
- 51:47Speaker 1: to tell you is your son drink too MUCHY he
- 51:50Speaker 1: drinks too much? Well, well, well you need to back
- 51:54Speaker 1: the I know you did not cussing me. I know
- 51:57Speaker 1: I did not cut that you. I'll caught mysel ready
- 52:00Speaker 1: to come to me. Let me tell you what say.
- 52:03Speaker 1: You ain't got to worry about it. We don't have
- 52:04Speaker 1: nothing else to talking about. My husband, me, your wife,
- 52:08Speaker 1: and everybody that works at damn daycare better be there
- 52:11Speaker 1: in the morning because that's six thirty. We're gonna be there,
- 52:13Speaker 1: and my son he's coming up week and he gonna
- 52:17Speaker 1: eat all week. If he woke two gallons of milk,
- 52:21Speaker 1: he gonna drink it. If he want two plates of food,
- 52:24Speaker 1: he gonna get it. Because I tell you what we say.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Damn good money to come to that daycare sold up there.
- 52:32Speaker 1: But I'm gonna have to put him on some swim fast. Now,
- 52:34Speaker 1: I will put your child on swim fast. I was
- 52:37Speaker 1: trying not to give him, but I will ask gives
- 52:40Speaker 1: him some slim fast, and you're gonna get a slim
- 52:42Speaker 1: fast swooping. I'm gonna whoop y'all that whoever gave it
- 52:45Speaker 1: to him, whoever gave it to him, They're gonna get
- 52:47Speaker 1: a slim fast shipping all the little kids that have
- 52:50Speaker 1: some slim fasts. If he getting some, he better eat
- 52:52Speaker 1: whatever they eat. And if they eating steak, well, damn it,
- 52:54Speaker 1: he better have something too. If we had steak, he
- 52:56Speaker 1: probably eat the damn cough. He didn't care. I pay
- 53:00Speaker 1: what but he's been like getting clim fast. I will
- 53:02Speaker 1: shut it down about my child. Okay, I got something
- 53:06Speaker 1: else you need to know about your son? What else
- 53:09Speaker 1: do I need to know besides you think my son
- 53:12Speaker 1: is overweight? What the elf can you tell me today?
- 53:15Speaker 1: I need to tell you this. I need to tell
- 53:17Speaker 1: you that this is nephew Tommy from the Steve Harvey

- 57:09Speaker 1: got it for you. It is the Strawberry Letter. Alright. Subject.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Me and my man have a little situation. Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 57:19Speaker 1: I met a gentleman seven months ago. I'm forty five
- 57:23Speaker 1: and he's thirty seven. When we met, he lived three
- 57:26Speaker 1: hours away, so he decided to move to my area.
- 57:30Speaker 1: It's been four months now since since we've been in
- 57:32Speaker 1: the same city, and I'm starting to see issues with him.
- 57:36Speaker 1: He didn't have a plan in place, when he moved
- 57:39Speaker 1: to my city, and now he's living in a shelter
- 57:42Speaker 1: because I told him he cannot live with me. He
- 57:45Speaker 1: doesn't have a car and I refuse to drive him around.
- 57:48Speaker 1: He does have a job. In fact, he's had three
- 57:51Speaker 1: different jobs since he's been here. He has been fired
- 57:55Speaker 1: from each job because he has an issue with the
- 57:57Speaker 1: way people talk to him. See, he has issues with
- 58:02Speaker 1: being short. He is only five three. I'm out a
- 58:10Speaker 1: break so I'm not going to do this. Let me
- 58:14Speaker 1: just say thank you. I told you you were gonna
- 58:18Speaker 1: love it, and I asked you enough for you to
- 58:21Speaker 1: stick around. I'm going to the break room. We're a team, alright.
- 58:27Speaker 1: He has issues with being short. He's only five three.
- 58:31Speaker 1: I am five to so his height doesn't bother me,
- 58:34Speaker 1: but it bothers him. He has short patience with people.
- 58:39Speaker 1: I believe he's been abused by a woman before because
- 58:42Speaker 1: he always thinks I'm talking down to him and belittling him.
- 58:46Speaker 1: I jokingly push these issues to the side, but it's
- 58:50Speaker 1: getting old. I'm getting to the point where I want
- 58:52Speaker 1: to end this relationship. Can I help him overcome this
- 58:56Speaker 1: or should I just let him work through his own
- 58:58Speaker 1: problems alone? Please help let me get back. You're gonna
- 59:09Speaker 1: love it, and you're welcome, by the way, You're welcome. Listen.
- 59:13Speaker 1: You may not have a problem with his height, but
- 59:15Speaker 1: he certainly does, and you got to let him work
- 59:19Speaker 1: it out on his own. There are things that you
- 59:21Speaker 1: can help help him do. I don't know, maybe take
- 59:24Speaker 1: him to therapy so he can deal with it that way. Uh,
- 59:27Speaker 1: but there's nothing you can do about his problem with
- 59:29Speaker 1: his height. You cannot change people. You cannot change him. Uh.
- 59:34Speaker 1: You've only known him for seven months. Um. It made
- 59:37Speaker 1: me think, did you see him before you guys you know,
- 59:40Speaker 1: got together. But I guess you did because you would
- 59:42Speaker 1: have said that if you didn't. But now he's moved.
- 59:45Speaker 1: You guys didn't talk about what was going to happen,
- 59:48Speaker 1: where he was going to live, whether or not he
- 59:49Speaker 1: had a car. You guys didn't discuss any of that
- 59:52Speaker 1: before he moved to the same city. How can he's
- 59:56Speaker 1: had three jobs since he's been there. He's only been
- 59:59Speaker 1: there what four months? He has an issue with the
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: way people talk to him. This is crazy. These are
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: things that he has to deal with on his own,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: and he's probably been dealing with for the majority of
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: his adult life. Uh, you don't care because he's still
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: taller than you at five two. So I don't know, Um,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: if you're gonna be able to help him overcome this,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: because he's got to do it first. The only thing
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: you can do is to be there to support him. Yeah,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: he's gonna have to work through these problems alone. UM.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I don't know if this relationship is going to last
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: because he can't keep a job. He lives in a shelter.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I mean, you know, and you want him to do better,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I'm sure, but he can't because of he has a
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: problem with being little. You know, he needs counseling. I think, Steve,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: now I good advice. This is not the time to
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: be funny and be rude. Just please don't start it out, Steve.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: I'm the one to get stupid about Steven Shilling. Now,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: this lady met this man seven. Let me go down.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: I promise you. I'm farted five years old. He thirty
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: seven right now, he shot he down eight years he
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: already he now, he's eight years shot he already and
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: equated this the inches. You can believe that you farted
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: five thirty seven when we met. He lived three hours away.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: So he decided to move to my area. It's been
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: foemost now since we've been in the same city. Here's
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: a line in this letter that really amazes me. I'm
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: starting to see issues with him really, So here we go.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: He didn't have a plan in place when he moved
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: to my city. He now living in a shelter. Your
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: man that you Dayton, the one that moved to your city,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: is now living in the shelter. So when you go by,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: pop in to see him. How's that working for you?
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Where you sit at the shelter? Little man ain't got
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: no home. Oh you get in my house. Listen to me.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Tiny houses they got this boy could have had a
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: place by nothing. Tiny house Nation is on TV. Well
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: that part two of Steve's response coming up at twenty
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: three after the hour. All right, you're listening, Steve. Al right, Steve,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: come on part two. Now I left y'all with this
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: woman dating this shout man. Yeah, me and my man
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: have a little situation. Now. She five, he fired three.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: She fired too, So that don't bother her. It's an
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: eight year difference in him because she farty five, he
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: thirty seven. Now he had the mood into town but
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: he ain't got no plan. She won't let him live
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: with him, so he lived in the shelter. I was
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: just wondering how it is for her when she stopped by.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: How are you gonna see your man at a shelter
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: where you sick? Put you into the bed, he's yours
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: because one thing I know from being a homeless you
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: can't sit on another homeless person stuff. You're bet not.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: That's rule number one. That's all they got. You don't
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: touch my grocery cart. You don't put your hand on
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: my duck tape, You don't get away from this blanket.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: He doesn't have a job, he doesn't have a car,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: and I refused to drive him around, so now he
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: just trying to walk around him in the leg. Well
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: he does have a job, he well, excuse me, he
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: got a job, but he ain't got no car. You
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: refuse Now he got to try everywhere. In fact, Tina
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: had three different jobs since he's been here. He'd been
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: friving from his job because he has an issue with
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: the way people talk to him. And old Lord, how
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: many times have we run into this? How many the
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: right show because we are dealing with this ourselves and
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I want to thank you for the opportunity to give
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: us to vent some of the things that we've been
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: going through, because we got somebody on this show that
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: has an issue with the way people talk to him.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: He stayed touchy, he edgy all the damn time. Some
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: always wrong, He always offended. See, he has an issue
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: with being short. Jor wouldn't you have an issue with
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: being short of you? Five for three now, she says,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: So his height doesn't bother me, but it bothers him.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: He has short patience with people. What you want him
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: to have long patience, he don't. He don't like nobody
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: cause he edgy. He always assumed it's about his height.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: He produced the thought that we had to produce on
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: this show. If you throw a rock in a pack
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: of dogs, you wonder, Holly if the one hit. Every
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: time we mentioned height on this show, we got one
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: person jump to conclusion that we're talking about him even
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: when we're not, Like right now, I can bet you
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: he think we talked about his ask right now now,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: she says, I believe that he's been abused by a
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: woman before because he always think I'm talking down to him.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: That's because the women he dated with taller. They was
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: talking down to him. It happens to Tom. Excuse me,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: it happens to this person we refer to all the time.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: I'm trying outside that's kind of slipped out now. I
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: believe he's been abused by a woman because they always
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: think I'm talking down to him. I joking. He pushed
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: these issues to the side, but he's getting old. I'm
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: getting to the point where I want to end this relationship.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Can I help him overcome this? I want to answer
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: that for you in just a second. Or should I
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: just let him work through his own problems alone? Can
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: I help him overcome this? No? You cannot, No, you cannot.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: This person can be fifty. You ain't gonna be able
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: to help them, because that's a big number. He thirty seven.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I'd have seen this go all the way up to
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: at least I know fit fifty for damn sure, we
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: ain't been able to help him yet. Or should you
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: let him work through his own problems alone? He can't.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: He has no answers for this because he touches all
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: the damn it's always about him. Little people got big issues,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: little man short patients, they got shot legs, They got
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: short arms. They're setting up everything about him a shot.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: But one thing about short people, they get a job. Though,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: I don't care what nobody's saying. They always working. I'm
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: surprised why he had a shot shorter at five three?
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: He could easily sign up for Falster killing. He could
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: be in somebody's how get the house? Yeah, he can
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: get in the house because he shot. And once again,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: why is he out of work and ain't got no
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: where to stay? Why is he in the shelter? Listen?
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I was watching tiny houses the other day, Tiny house Nation.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: This be like a mansion for him. A matter of fact.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: You take this little lass house and you rename it.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: You can call it like a shateau or something. Give
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: it a big name, and it be just for little people. Wow.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: See that's how you do it. You take a little
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: house and give it a big name. See, you ain't
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: gotta call it tiny house, call it a shaateau. All
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: of the rooms pop out, lift up a lead that
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: was a cupboard for clothes and stuff. It's a bath tub,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: you understand. You climb up stairs for storage and a
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: little loft. You move that stuff out the way. It's
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: a bunk. Bad man, the stove and the toilet is
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: the same thing that you fixed the food on the toilet.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Then you move all the stuff out the way and
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: lift the lid up and you put the food that
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: you just eat down in the toilet. I can't go
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: with you on that one. No, this is for tiny houses.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Surely you ain't got too because you have a hole.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: But the people right here shop people like they can
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: do stuff like that. I've seen it done. Excuse me,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: tell me you're right, I'm fine. I'm a man. I'm
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: gonna be all right now, you all right, you ain't fine. Yeah,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: you're a man, But it's two things you ain't. You
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: ain't fine, and you're not tall, and you damn near
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: this letter. We have seen see some of the things
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: that we're dealing with. All Right, Steve, we gotta get
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: out of here. You can email us or Instagram. That's
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: your thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter at my Girl, Shirley.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Please don't forget to join me this Thursday at one
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: thirty pm Eastern Strawberry Letters Live after show on Facebook Live.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show Van Jones.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: You know was our special guest Van Jones from CNN.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: He has a brand new show on CNN that started
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: on Saturday. Jay Z was his first and very special guest.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: Van asked jay Z about President Trump and his blank
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: hole comments. He asked him about unemployment for black Americans,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: and he also asked him about his marriage to Beyonce.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Take a listen, we have a president that comes and
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: says every African country is a whole country. How does
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: that land with you as a dad? Yeah, that's it's
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: it's like it's disappointing and it's hurtful. It really is hurtful.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: More so like if everyone feels anger, but after the
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: anger is really hurtful because like you're like looking down
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: on the whole population to people and you're so missing
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: form because these places have beautiful people and have beautiful everything. Um,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: And it's just like, this is the lead of the
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: free world speaking like this. But on the other side,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: this has been going on. It's how people talk. This
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: is how they talk behind closed doors. There was a
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: moment where Donald Sterling had been exposed as this racist
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: on a private phone conversation that he was having and
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: they took his team from it. And it's like Okay,
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: that's one way to do it. But another way it
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: would have been let him have his team and then
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: let's talk about it together unless unless many some penalties.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: But because once you do that, all the other closet
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: races just run back in the hall. You have you
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: have been fixed anything. What you've done was spray perfume
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: on a trash can. And what you do when you
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: do that is, you know, the bugs come and you
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: spray something, and then they come and then you create
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: a super bug, right because you don't take care of
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: the problem, you don't take the trash out. You just
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: keep spraying whatever to make it acceptable. And then you know,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: as those things grow and you create a super bugget
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: then now only have Donald Trump the super bulk. I'm
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: being funny. I think I say that too. But somewhere
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: along his lineage, something happened to him, happening, something that
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: happened to him, and he's in pain and he's like
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: expressing it in this sort of way. Well, you know, uh,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: let me say this, Um, what j is saying makes
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: a great sense because I think when Van Jones was
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: on the show, we even had touched on it. You know,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: you can say that unemployment is at an all time
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: load for African Americans. But that's not just didn't happen
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: over the past year. I mean, this was some stuff
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: that had been put into place with policy all the
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: way back to the stimulus package to President Obama. Yeah,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: and it comes around now, it can because he's been
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: the years the president. Can he take some credit for that?
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Of course he can, and he will and he is.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: He's taking credit for all. You best to believe if
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: anybody was in office, they'd be doing the same thing.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: So that part I get. But the part of it
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: is we have the lowest unemployment rate, but we are
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: at our most dysfunctional phase. This is the most dysfunctional
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: I've ever seen this country. I mean, well, in you no,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: let's let's know, it's not the most dysfunctional I've seen.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I've seen way worse. The segregation of the South,
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: I've seen way worse. But for this to be coming
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: from the White House the way it's coming in terms
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: of policy and rhetoric, I've never seen this at least
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: who and they were doing racial things, they had the
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: at least courtesy to try to mask it with some
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: type of conversation that tried to make you think it
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: wasn't really that races. But now there is no attempting
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: to hide or mask anything. That's what's alarming about this.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: And I think that jay Z is right. You know
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: you can you can be so wonderfully paid but so
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: miserably unhappy and be sick about it. You know, if
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: somebody pays you a lot of money but treat you
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: horrible at one point in time, man, when you don't
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: spent that money, the treatment outweighs the money, It really does. Example,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: you can be in a marriage with somebody that's doing
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: really well, and you could be the beneficiary of all
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: this money and all these perks, but if you ain't
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: happy in the marriage, what you got it makes no sense.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: It's you man. You know how many women walk away
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: from that money? They get up and walk. You can
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: have this money, man. Tina did it in the movie
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: Oh Yeah, I just want my name in a marriage.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: He talked about that with Beyonce too, with Van Jones.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: What is it about this marriage is so special that
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: he would fight this hard to keep to save it? Well,
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: it's my soul, mads, person. I love you know, you
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: can be in love with someone. You can love someone
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: and you're not. And if you have an experienced love
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: you don't understand it and you don't have the tools
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: to move forward, then you're gonna have complications. Period. You
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: can either address it or you can pretend until it
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: blows up at some point. You know. For us, we
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: chose to fight for our love, for our family, to
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: give our kids a different outcome you see, see, you know,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: to break that cycle for black men and women, you know,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: just to see a different outcome. Like you were saying,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: it's not this celebrity because we were never celebrity couple.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: We were a couple who just happened to be celebrities
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: like real people. I mean, that's that's being pretty honest
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: about it. You know. That is exactly how how it
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: plays itself out for who happened. It's just what's sad
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: about it. It's most people don't want to hear the
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: other pain repeatedly over and over because it lasts way
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: longer than you wanted to last. M That's the thing
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: that all someone taught me about seeing seeing cost you
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: more than you want to pay, and it makes you
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: stay longer than you want to stay. That's the cold
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: thing about it. And so when you get in these
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: situations in this relationship, it cost you more than you
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: want to pay, and it makes you stay way longer
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: and you want to stay. And I think what I
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: heard him say was clear. You got to hear the
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: other person's pain, and it's uncomfortable, and it takes some
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: time because they gotta wash through. But most people want
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: to walk away before I said, I'm sorry that. That's
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: what I respect about that situation the most, that they
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: hung in there and try to work it out. They
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: worked on it. It takes work after something like that,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: and you can you it's a choice that you make
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: to either stay or leave. And it's tough, man, It's
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: not easy. Hey, listen. Coming up at the top of
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: the hour, Jays put together a segment called Phrases that
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: let you know you didn't do well in the bedroom.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Right after this, I've apparently I speak from what I knew.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Okay, Steve
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: j is here your friend, the one you hire, the
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: one your your road dog back in the day. Come on, Jay,
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Phrases that let you know you didn't do with all phrases,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: every man Once you hear these phrases, they automatically let
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: you know did not do a good job. We all
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: been there, we've all we've all had some bad Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: jor what man, let you know you have not done it?
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Like here's one. Here's one. H is that it? Yeah?
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Is that you've been told that? Yeah and paid money? Wow,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: I'm like, Tommy, now your money back. This one's on
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: the house. Oh man, this one's now all right. Come on,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: young junior. Oh what I've heard? What time is your
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: game coming on? What time is your game coming on? Nephew,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: the worst one I've heard. You got to be kidding,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: really like that. You got to be kidding, all right.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: These are phrases that let you know, guys that you
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: didn't do a good job in the bedroom. Come on, Steve,
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: that's okay. You don't have to call me as well.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: I don't even worry about it. This one, thank you.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: Absolutely don't no, don't come. I got you tomorrow. I'll
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: call you when to get in. And that's that's okay.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: This is one that really lets you know you're not
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: doing a damn thing in the bedroom. This one right here,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: this one right here, this is it's d just stop.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: Just hold up stop stop stop stop stop stop clothes
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: stop just no, no, stop, damn it stop. Yeah that's true, junior. Well,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: if they got enough energy just to make a regular statement,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: which normally what I get after I finished, some time
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: they finished, you just say pass my phone, the phone
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: off the night stand. Now I'm over here, this passing stuff, Nick,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: you gotta see what's up the ground. You're doing terrible.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: Ain't nothing like rolls over neck and passing somebody phone. Enough,
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: But in your mind, are you thinking you killed it?
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: She just told me as come on the phrases to
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: let you know you didn't do well in the bedroom. Guys,
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: is this why you left your car running? This is this? This?
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: This this the reason right here. I ain't gonna being
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: here but at right back here. No, no, I don't
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: need a cigarette. I'm good. Do not need a cigarette
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: that I got one right here? This one really hurt
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: right here, this right here. Seriously, don't leave your wife home, okay,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: precious crash press, don't you leave your house. U. You
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: can't bring that over here. I can't. Wow, guys, I'll
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: tell you what. That's that's what I knew. I wasn't
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: doing a good job and said, tell my son. I said,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: come here? What what tell my son? I said, come here?
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: Come this is finish? Yeah? So you yeah, she back
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: on it. You're inviting people in here now I'm in
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: the bab Your mama said, come in want you? Why
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: don't you just why don't you just wake me up
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: when you think? Just wake me up? When you throw
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: you didn't put her to sleep on her own phrases
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: and let you know you didn't do such a good
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: job in the bach in the room. Come on, Mr Harvey,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: what you got? You know what you need? Joe ass
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: like that? Really? Oh my brother? O you guys go
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: through it. J oh yeah, So time does you get here?
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: You want you out immediately like the movie get out? Yeah, Jay,
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: this is hard, but I remember this moment too. You're
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: gonna tell what up? What you gonna tell? So that's
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: I'm told. I'm talking. You did your thing? Phrases that
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: let you know you didn't do a good job in
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: the bedroom. Baby you you you must have ticked around peel.

- 1:24:09Speaker 1: You got that little emoed you with the sad face
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: on it with the upside down from dot dot dot.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: You didn't do a damn thing. You said? You what
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: you alright? More of the craziness coming up at twenty
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: after the hour. Right after this, you're listening to the
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Well, today is Oprah's sixty four
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: birthday and Oprah Happy Birthday, Oprah. Oprah set the record
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: straight on whether she'll run for president in two thousand
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: and it's a no. I think we've heard that, she says, no,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: she did. She recently revealed it's it's always very a
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: cure and confident. She's always been a very secure and
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: confident person in knowing what she could do and what
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: she could not do. And so it's not something that
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: interests her. Meaning running for president is not something that
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: interests her at this time. She says she doesn't have
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: the DNA for it. You're you're good with that, right, Steve, Yeah,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: that's perfect. She don't need that man, Yeah, in her life. Yeah,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: she don't need that at all. She didn't worked really hard,
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: built a great career. You know, she's worked hard. She's
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: just going out and new Joyce. So you can't accomplish
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: anything in government. I've learned. You can't accomplish anything in government.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: You can't get anything done. Yeah. Oprah even mentioned that
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: her best girlfriend, Gail King, gets stopped all the time
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: by people asking if Oprah is going to run, but
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Gail knows it wouldn't be a fit for her friend. Uh,
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: it would only be good for everyone else, not for Oprah.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: So we say happy birthday, Oprah, and thank you for
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: setting the record straight. Okay, because it was good when
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: people we're talking about it. You know, wow, if president
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: only because we wanted we we just knew, would be
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: better than what was in there right now. Yeah yeah, no,
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: let me you know, ignorant stuff wouldn't be coming out
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: of her mouth. But they will not do it right. Yeah,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: it's no way they would do it right. It would
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: be horrible. Man, When do you think another black man
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: or woman could become president? Steve in the next election
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: but her seeable future? Yeah but who Uh Corey Booker
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: comes to mind. That's about it right now. Kamala Harris
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: out of California Yeah, Sydney for president Goodney, Monique, Sydney Monika,
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: y'all don't even be paying attention. Not a politician. I like,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: I like your stupid. Ain't gonna like for real? He
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: is you love us? For real? Jack? You say you
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: know she should meet? She texted me did Yeah, she
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: said she wants to talk to me. Sugar brother brother
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: love man. I'm not messing a Monique. Man who different
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: weight class. I ain't messing with that man weight class. Apologize, Monique,
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry, take it all back. I don't. I don't
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: know what to say after that. I just saying that. Yeah, okay,
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: I don't know what to say. Should we gonna break here?
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: What's in the world? Jake just jokes he's a comedian.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: She's a comedian. But yeah, remember, why don't you call
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: it though? I ain't got nothing to say to Moniq. No,
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: you're know you're writing songs and god, that's what But
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: that's what I do, is not what I do. Talked
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: about it, you ask people about the boycott. Yeah, I'm
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: surprised he hasn't written a song. I'm surprised. Yeah, he
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: did that's right? Got song a song? I don't all
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: about that? Base? Yeah? All about yeah? Who does people
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: you talk about? I don't confronts talk about who does that?
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: Just stupid passive aggressiveness. I don't live like that. Who
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: lives that? Dan that dangerous? I defend it's not what
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: it's about. Jay got that right? Yeah, totally doing but
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: is just jokes. You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: All right, Steve. Last night, of course, was music's big tonight.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: It was the Grammys, the sixtieth Annual Grammy Awards. They
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: were back in New York City at Madison Square Garden.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: This show was really good. Have to keep me abreast
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: because I noticed it's gonna come as a surprise to you.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: What I didn't see it. You weren't glued. You usually

- 1:29:27Speaker 1: I saw Kendrick Lamar before and the last night watch it.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: I just happened to be cutting through, but I would
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: I wasn't cutting through last night because I was glued

- 1:30:02Speaker 1: Here's some of the highlights. Check it out. All right,
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: I'm doing Chapelle and I just wanted to remind the
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: audience that the only thing more frightening than watching a
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: black man be honest in America, it's being an honest
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: black man in America. Sorry for the interruption, Please continue.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: I got a lot of guys in this building right

- 1:30:41Speaker 1: you know we absolutely love us. From Kendrick Lamar, some

- 1:31:07Speaker 1: That's because he's all you're gonna hear I probably listen
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: to me. No, no, no, no, all you're gonna hear
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: right right, I did it right, you know, I changed
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: the economy. He's gonna talk about the economy. He's going

- 1:31:28Speaker 1: about the lowest rate unemployment for African Americans. He's gonna
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: talk about the highest numbers in the stock market. He's
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: gonna talk about all of that. That's what this whole
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: thing is going to be focused on, border control, making
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: this country safe again. That's all he's gonna talk about
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: the state of the Trump address. But there's a lot
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: of people boycotting, you know, a lot of mayors mid
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: Boy Oh yeah, Georgia, Oh yeah, I mean you know,
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: come on now, whole no, just some people have decided

- 1:32:19Speaker 1: one black guy gonna be there. You know, you know
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: what I'm talking about with the long Pony deal or whatever.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: He is yeah, right right there. So that's going on

- 1:32:57Speaker 1: Just one more thing you're closing remarks? Are before I
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: do that? I want to can I have one open
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: mintory session with Tommy? Right? Of course? The first thing
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: that we will tell now that no Shirley answer she
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: wants to hear. We need two things at the beginning edition.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: Two things to begin to year with. We need a
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: very competent assistant. We're working on that. Who No, I
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: didn't say you wasn't. I was just saying this what's needed.
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: A very competent assistant who knows more than you. Second thing, yeah,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: we need a booking system. You should use a travel
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: agent to book your flights. Yes, sir. They can find
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: discounts for you and I think they have ends and
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: outs in more knowledge about when you can fly. It
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: helps say those two things we should work on, yes, sir, yeah,
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: and then I think that one we meet, I will
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: too it. But since because February twenty, well, hell what
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: I'm supposed to do. Maybe you can wait till February.
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: I can't, but that was busy. But until then, those
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: are two good mentoring tips. Tommy. Don't you think he
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: won't stay. I'm fine. I'm fine with what. I gotta
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: go and see my family. Stay. Come on now, Doc,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: I ain't saying where you're going. I just stated the
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: fact that you won't stay in town. So and I'm available.
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: He gone, Well, weekend, you only weekend. I mean I
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: really can't see you during the week, and I can
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: say you're doing a week? Who needs the mentor it?
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: I don't need memory all the people that mentor me.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: I'm on the schedule. Did you bring up a very
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: good point? Man? Tell me you have any advice for
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: your Can I say this though? I text Bishop Jake's,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: I text Bishop Getties, I text Bishop Over, I text
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Joe Old Steve, I text Robert. I text okay, okay,
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: let me jump. When I text you, you don't respond.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: I respond to everything, But what all you do is
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: put me in group text me. When I text you,
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: I text you last week. You said, what the blank
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: you want? Okay, but what did you want to blank
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: you want? I'm not responding. Need a day or two.
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: The digest when he said, Steve, as you heard his feelings,
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: he got time to worry about that. He talked to
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: everybody like that though, But he's why he's taking a
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: personal sme. That was the text. Do you want the
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: information or you want this kindness? Steve, you read the
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: Strawberry letter. He has issues with how people talk to
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: him short fifty years Shirley. I ain't wrote that letter.
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: He didn't just get short. Stop talking about the letter
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: time and we know it's about you. Facts facts. Nobody
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: in here. Ain't nobody else thinking with about deal. He
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: has issues with being short. I just happened to have
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: the letter right here. You haven't had that. I don't know,
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: didn't talk too harsh. Yeah, he has issues with being short.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: He has short patience with people. Uh. He always thinks
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: I'm talking down to him and be little him. I'm
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: six to Uh, what where's the I mean? You know,
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: I mean it goes on and on. He's been fired
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: from each job because he has an issue with the
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: way people talk to him. He has issues with the
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: way people talk to him. So so that kind of
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: speaks to what you guys were just talking about the text, Tommy.
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: We're trying to help you, Tommy, harshly, don't just love
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: Last week, I said, hey, how you doing? You got
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: any time in the next day? So what the blank
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: you want? Not? Well, that's what I got. I'll actually
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: refer again. I'll have to refer again to exhibit A.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: He has a problem with the way people talk to him.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: I'm sorry, it's right there. He has an issue with
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: the way you and I had to do was this
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: is what the blank? I won't and we said, well
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: do this like that and that like this. Can we
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: stop text? Cussing in the not gonna happen. You're not
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: to get it in the text, so you can get
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: it in the it's gonna be I prefer taking it
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: on the tail. Right, there's gonna be some cussing, tom
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: because he's not cussing. You ain't talking to you, So
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: he don't love you if he ain't customing. He only
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: cus when he likes you. So what do you want?
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: I'll tell you when I had of me he wants
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: without cussing, that's what he wants. Not gonna get that.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: Don't look at that. That's just not man's man. Well,
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: the stuff he gave you today was not cussing. It's
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: I got that. I'm run with that. I'm run with
