County consents to Bear River refuge land transfer

The Box Elder County Commission consented at the Aug. 12 meeting to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s acquisition of 22,311 acres of state land for use within the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. Box Elder County Attorney Stephen Hadfield said the property had been treated as part of the refuge for years before it was determined to belong to the state.
