- 0:12Speaker 1: back down, giving them like a million buck things. And
- 0:17Speaker 1: it's not good. Steve Hartley, I don't join me. You
- 0:59Speaker 1: gotta use that turn. You gotta turn to turn them out,
- 1:42Speaker 1: turn my love, got to turn out to turn turn
- 1:46Speaker 1: the water the water. Come come on your tha, uh huh,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I sure will. Good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice,
- 2:07Speaker 1: Come on now, dig me want and only Steve Harvey, God,
- 2:13Speaker 1: what radio show man? What you're doing with it? Trying
- 2:17Speaker 1: to do the very very best I can with it?
- 2:19Speaker 1: I really am. You know, I get tired sometimes on
- 2:23Speaker 1: my journey. I'm not gonna kid you. UM. Trying to
- 2:28Speaker 1: make something about yourself is a task. UM. If you
- 2:34Speaker 1: want to attempt to do something and and and understand
- 2:38Speaker 1: going in that that. If the thing you're trying to
- 2:43Speaker 1: do is to improve yourself, to better your position, to
- 2:47Speaker 1: better your relationship, your family, anything, you're trying to be
- 2:52Speaker 1: a better you. You're trying to make more money, you're
- 2:57Speaker 1: trying to get it together, you're trying to change change.
- 3:01Speaker 1: If any of those things are in your hopes and dreams.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Know this right here, you are about to face some challenges.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But you might as well go ahead anyway and face
- 3:15Speaker 1: those challenges, because if you don't, you have a whole
- 3:19Speaker 1: other set of challenges to face. You know, it's a
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's a it's an amazing thing. Man. How people sit
- 3:26Speaker 1: around and they watch other people strike out to become successful.
- 3:30Speaker 1: They sit in the stands watching these people play out
- 3:34Speaker 1: these games, and they and they, and they criticize, They boo,
- 3:38Speaker 1: they laugh at their efforts and everything, and they talk
- 3:42Speaker 1: about the fairies. He missed that game when it shot. Boy,
- 3:45Speaker 1: he sucked. Man, he did this. He ain't worth that.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I hear people who sit and stands who criticize people
- 3:55Speaker 1: who are out there on the playing field. Now, when
- 3:59Speaker 1: you're on the playing field, you have a set of
- 4:02Speaker 1: challenges in front of you. You're going to be open
- 4:05Speaker 1: to criticism. You're going to be open to ridicule. You're
- 4:09Speaker 1: going to be talked about when you don't know the
- 4:12Speaker 1: people who are talking about you. Now here's the upside
- 4:20Speaker 1: to being the player on the field that's facing all
- 4:24Speaker 1: the challenges, to criticisms, the laughing, the joke, to being
- 4:27Speaker 1: talked about he has something going for him. This person, boy, woman, child, girl,
- 4:37Speaker 1: man has an opportunity to win. They have an opportunity
- 4:44Speaker 1: to win. And then the game of life. Just because
- 4:49Speaker 1: you lose one of the games, or you lose one
- 4:52Speaker 1: of the matches, it don't mean you've lost. You don't
- 4:56Speaker 1: get put out. You keep playing. When you're playing, here's
- 5:02Speaker 1: the upside. You have the opportunity to win. And but
- 5:05Speaker 1: guess what, You're gonna win some of the matches. You're
- 5:08Speaker 1: gonna win some of the points. You're gonna make some
- 5:10Speaker 1: of the dunks. You're gonna hit some of them over
- 5:12Speaker 1: the wall. You're gonna hit some of them out the park.
- 5:14Speaker 1: You're gonna score some goals. You will if you're playing
- 5:19Speaker 1: the game. Here's the problem with the people who don't
- 5:24Speaker 1: face criticism, who nobody boos or cheers for, who sits
- 5:29Speaker 1: in the stands and knows neither victory nor defeat. Those people,
- 5:37Speaker 1: without realizing it, are facing a set of challenges also.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And the challenges they're facing is how I'm gonna live
- 5:46Speaker 1: with myself? What I'm gonna do? Now? What direction am
- 5:54Speaker 1: I going in? Where am I gonna live? Wonder what
- 6:01Speaker 1: job will hire me? Wonder if I can get paid
- 6:06Speaker 1: for criticizing. Oh woe is me? I can't find the
- 6:13Speaker 1: purpose in my life. And man, I'm just waking up
- 6:18Speaker 1: in a state of confusion. I don't know what to do. Now,
- 6:22Speaker 1: let me ask you something which one of them said,
- 6:24Speaker 1: of challenges you rather be faced with. Because if I'm
- 6:28Speaker 1: on the flow playing, if I'm on the field playing,
- 6:31Speaker 1: if I'm out on the court playing, then guess what
- 6:35Speaker 1: I got a chance at winning? But guess what I'm
- 6:38Speaker 1: doing every day while I'm playing. I'm strategizing. I'm waking
- 6:42Speaker 1: up with a purpose. I'm waking up trying to come
- 6:45Speaker 1: up with another angle. I'm in pursuit of a goal
- 6:50Speaker 1: every single day. Versus the people in the stands who
- 6:58Speaker 1: know neither victory nor defeat. Get in the game. Face
- 7:06Speaker 1: the challenges. Better yourself, better your wife, better your children,
- 7:10Speaker 1: better your condition, better your employment status, better your job,
- 7:13Speaker 1: better your career. Take a shot. Come on, man, what
- 7:17Speaker 1: you're waiting on? Because the alternative is to watch other
- 7:21Speaker 1: people play the game? You know what I just do?
- 7:24Speaker 1: Sometimes Sometimes I just I get Forbes magazine or Money magazine,
- 7:30Speaker 1: or sometimes I still grab a copy of rob Report.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I just flipped through it just to see. I used
- 7:37Speaker 1: to get these this book called Unique Homes. Unique Homes
- 7:40Speaker 1: is a magazine that just has a lot of extravagant
- 7:44Speaker 1: houses that's on sale across the country, across the world.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I used to flip through. Man, let me just see, man,
- 7:51Speaker 1: what the people that's playing the game out there doing.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Stop watching other people become successful when you could very
- 7:58Speaker 1: easily be you if you make the decision. But when
- 8:02Speaker 1: you make the decision to become successful, get ready for
- 8:05Speaker 1: a series of challenges. I think it's more difficult not
- 8:09Speaker 1: to accept the challenge. I think it's for me. This
- 8:14Speaker 1: is just for me. It may not be the case
- 8:15Speaker 1: for you. For me, I think it's far more difficult
- 8:18Speaker 1: to wake up and just see how life gonna go today,
- 8:20Speaker 1: because man, it could just deal you any kind of
- 8:22Speaker 1: hand today. You understand, I don't like, you know, spades.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Let's let's talk a card game, folks, the game of spades. Really, man,
- 8:34Speaker 1: it ain't a whole lot you can do if you
- 8:35Speaker 1: don't get no spades. Really, it's a little couple of
- 8:39Speaker 1: little strategies you're gonna do. But you can have all
- 8:42Speaker 1: this age, King Queen Diamond, all you want. But man,
- 8:44Speaker 1: you ain't got no spades. They're cutting them. You're in trouble.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Be it whist different game. You can create what's in
- 8:52Speaker 1: your hand. You got dealt a hand too, But you
- 8:55Speaker 1: can create a hand. You can call a trump. You
- 8:58Speaker 1: can make diamonds your spades. You can make hard to
- 9:01Speaker 1: clubs your spades. That's what I'm saying. That's what it is.
- 9:04Speaker 1: You can do something with it. It's a different game, man.
- 9:07Speaker 1: You can strategize. I would rather have a say so
- 9:10Speaker 1: in my life than to wake up every day and
- 9:12Speaker 1: just see how it's going. I think it's more difficult
- 9:15Speaker 1: to not accept the challenge to be something than it
- 9:18Speaker 1: is to accept the challenge to be something. I think
- 9:21Speaker 1: it's more difficult to sit around and not be nothing.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I think it's harder to watch everybody's life going somewhere
- 9:27Speaker 1: but mine. I think it would be very difficult for
- 9:30Speaker 1: me to sit here and hear them talking about other
- 9:32Speaker 1: people and never mention my name. I would be difficult
- 9:35Speaker 1: for me to see everybody rise and getting promotions accept me.
- 9:39Speaker 1: That would be difficult for me. It may not be
- 9:42Speaker 1: for you, but for me it would be quite challenging.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I would rather accept the challenge of making something out
- 9:47Speaker 1: of my life than to sit there and criticize those
- 9:51Speaker 1: and then watch and see how my life just may go. Okay,
- 9:55Speaker 1: just a thought today you're listening one two, one, two three?
- 10:05Speaker 1: Here we go. I got it? What you talking about?
- 10:09Speaker 1: I got it? What do you mean? I got it?
- 10:14Speaker 1: Saying one more time? I got it? What that time?
- 10:20Speaker 1: I got it? Make a lot of noise with it?
- 10:24Speaker 1: I got it? Oh, I got it? Hey, ain't got it? Yeah.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Welcome to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. The theme today
- 10:39Speaker 1: is I got it. Yeah. I got gratitude, I got
- 10:47Speaker 1: a guilt. I have means, I got peace of mind. Yeah,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I have a measure of health. I got it. Welcome
- 11:04Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Shirley Strawberry callin for
- 11:07Speaker 1: real Mississippi Monica and the legend that is Nephew Tommy top.
- 11:15Speaker 1: That's all the morning. Normally I would say, Junior Horse,
- 11:18Speaker 1: on your mind, But I will go over to Tommy
- 11:22Speaker 1: now and go, Tommy, what's on your mind? On your cheese?
- 11:34Speaker 1: All right? Let me see here, let me see here, stupid. Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 1: So somebody tried to tell me the other day that
- 11:47Speaker 1: I need to try to keep as much electure lights
- 11:52Speaker 1: in my system, drink more electric lights? Now, why would
- 11:55Speaker 1: I want to drink that and get electrocuted? Does that
- 11:58Speaker 1: make any sense to you at all? Why would I
- 12:02Speaker 1: take the risk of getting electrocuted? And how all the
- 12:05Speaker 1: electro lights in me that don't make no damn Well?
- 12:07Speaker 1: I have an idea for you, Tommy. This is what
- 12:09Speaker 1: I suggest you do to help this out. Get you
- 12:16Speaker 1: a small Dixie cup out of your bathroom dispense if
- 12:21Speaker 1: they still have those, I don't know, Or get your
- 12:24Speaker 1: bathroom and water cup and fill it with water and
- 12:27Speaker 1: put a little bit on your hand and have the
- 12:30Speaker 1: rest of it in your hand. Then go outside the
- 12:34Speaker 1: bathroom because I don't want you to be in there.
- 12:36Speaker 1: What can't nobody hear you? And I want you to
- 12:39Speaker 1: start sitting the floor next to an outlet and start
- 12:43Speaker 1: drinking the water and then put that wet hand in
- 12:47Speaker 1: the outlet. Why are you drinking water? And then let's
- 12:53Speaker 1: see how many electro lights your ass can get in
- 12:56Speaker 1: you at once. And I'm reason I didn't want you
- 13:00Speaker 1: to do it in the bathroom so people can hear
- 13:02Speaker 1: you in the hallway. Oh okay, okay, yeah, that it
- 13:08Speaker 1: makes perfect sense, I just I just don't think it's
- 13:10Speaker 1: safe to hell lecture lightsing your sister. I just don't.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I just think it's danger. It's just me. I'm surprised.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I thought I was surprised. You ain't up surprising my damn.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I thought this is gonna turn the hydrated though, that's
- 13:30Speaker 1: but what about it? Though? He didn't disappoint me. No,
- 13:33Speaker 1: he didn't hydrated? All right, coming up in thirty two
- 13:38Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, nephew, Tommy is coming up. Would
- 13:41Speaker 1: run that frank back right after this. You're listening morning show?
- 13:47Speaker 1: All right? Time to start your morning off? Would run
- 13:49Speaker 1: that frank back with the nephew, what you got nef,

- 16:00Speaker 1: want to But if you love my daughter, she would

- 16:45Speaker 1: And I understand you know, I was a little shot

- 16:51Speaker 1: get you know what, man, Okay, And I understand that.
- 16:55Speaker 1: But what I'm trying to explain to you, man, is

- 17:37Speaker 1: the bottom of this. That's what the hell I need
- 17:39Speaker 1: to do. Hey, And I understand that, mister, you was
- 17:42Speaker 1: probably gonna I want to talk to and I ain't
- 17:44Speaker 1: got no problem with that. What I'm trying to explain

- 18:11Speaker 1: You're working, miss. I understand that. What I'm what I'm
- 18:15Speaker 1: trying to explain to you that you know what, man,
- 18:17Speaker 1: Sometimes I love is right the second time around? You
- 18:20Speaker 1: understand what I'm saying. What the hell you mean the
- 18:22Speaker 1: second time? I got kids already. What I'm trying to

- 18:45Speaker 1: because look, man, I'm not even trying to have this
- 18:47Speaker 1: conversation with you. And I miss, miss Comparis, I understand
- 18:50Speaker 1: all that, I understand what you're saying. What I want
- 18:52Speaker 1: to say to you is just right here. Crystal is
- 18:55Speaker 1: twenty five. Even if you don't agree with this, here,
- 18:58Speaker 1: we're gonna eat Lowe and make sure that we do.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Look at him. You ain't doing a thing with my

- 19:11Speaker 1: I don't even know your jail bird. You ain't doing.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna call my daughter final horn. You really are
- 19:18Speaker 1: lost your mind if you think your old jail bird
- 19:22Speaker 1: is gonna be marrying my daughter. My daughter's not a future.
- 19:25Speaker 1: You ain't got the head is wrong with Jill rust mine.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I'm not gonna sit and go back and forth with you. Miss.

- 19:39Speaker 1: and Crystal getting married. That's it. Not the love. Man,
- 19:42Speaker 1: don't know who the hell you think you are. It's
- 19:45Speaker 1: wrong with you about what it's gotta be. I got

- 22:06Speaker 1: in Atlanta writes to our CLO Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I'm twenty eight and I'm dating a thirty year old
- 22:14Speaker 1: man I met online. He checks off every box on
- 22:17Speaker 1: my list except one. He's a great lover, but he's
- 22:21Speaker 1: not willing to explore all of me. He said. There
- 22:24Speaker 1: are a few things he will never do. If I
- 22:27Speaker 1: enjoy doing it for him, should he be willing to
- 22:29Speaker 1: try it for me? Is he being selfish? Or is
- 22:33Speaker 1: this normal? Well? I ain't saying this normal. I'm just
- 22:36Speaker 1: saying he ain't. Ain't what he doing? You know? I
- 22:41Speaker 1: do you type thing that ain't that ain't what he
- 22:43Speaker 1: fin to do? Oh? You know, so that you have
- 22:48Speaker 1: it now? If that's a deal breaker for you, and
- 22:51Speaker 1: they probably need to break up now. But if it's
- 22:55Speaker 1: not a deal breaker, they're gone and explore. But it
- 22:58Speaker 1: seems like he's pretty much set on this. It's a
- 23:00Speaker 1: decision he's made. See what could have happened? He thirty.
- 23:04Speaker 1: You don't know, but he might have had a really,
- 23:06Speaker 1: really bad traumatic experience with that. And now I'll shut
- 23:10Speaker 1: you down. You run, you run up into something that
- 23:13Speaker 1: ain't quite what you thought it was, and it'll shut
- 23:17Speaker 1: you down. So it could have been. He used to
- 23:19Speaker 1: do everything, but he don't stopped exploring everywhere he dialed
- 23:25Speaker 1: it back, didn't it? Yeah, he said, never something happened.
- 23:30Speaker 1: So not putting your toe in my mouth, you could ask,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I'm telling you all right. Moving on to Taylor in Southfield.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Taylor says, I'm thirty three and I've been divorced for
- 23:42Speaker 1: two years. I had husband is getting remarried, and I
- 23:46Speaker 1: got a wedding invite. He called me last week to
- 23:49Speaker 1: say that his fiance wants me to change my last
- 23:51Speaker 1: name back to my maiden name because she wants to
- 23:54Speaker 1: be the only woman with my name. Should I relinquish
- 23:58Speaker 1: the name or not? Well, huh, you know what did
- 24:05Speaker 1: this wedding invitation had to do with anything. But secondly,
- 24:11Speaker 1: his current wife to be wants you to change your
- 24:16Speaker 1: name back. My question to you is, why would you
- 24:20Speaker 1: want the name of a man that don't want you?
- 24:25Speaker 1: That's my only question to you. I would be more
- 24:29Speaker 1: than happy to get back to who I was after
- 24:32Speaker 1: I find out that who I thought I was don't
- 24:36Speaker 1: want me to be that no more, So I would
- 24:42Speaker 1: forget the fact. See, normally, when you get divorced and
- 24:45Speaker 1: it don't come up because ain't nobody married, you just
- 24:47Speaker 1: don't feel like going down that change in the paperwork.
- 24:50Speaker 1: I would imagine it's just a hassle. Now, if you
- 24:54Speaker 1: got the kids, that's a whole other story. The kid's
- 24:58Speaker 1: name can't change. I don't think. I'm not sure, but
- 25:01Speaker 1: I don't think that's why. But but if you all
- 25:05Speaker 1: don't have kids, I think the only thing that would
- 25:09Speaker 1: bother you is the fact that she said she don't
- 25:12Speaker 1: want you to have it. But I think the real
- 25:14Speaker 1: question is why would you want to keep it from
- 25:17Speaker 1: a man that don't want you. I would change it
- 25:20Speaker 1: and not let it be about this woman saying I
- 25:23Speaker 1: don't want her to have your name no more. You
- 25:26Speaker 1: would change change with no kids, Oh, with no kids,
- 25:30Speaker 1: I think I think that's more of a female question. Uh, Carl,
- 25:34Speaker 1: it would you change if you didn't have kids and
- 25:36Speaker 1: you divorce the man, would you keep his last name?
- 25:39Speaker 1: I don't think so. If I didn't have any children,
- 25:42Speaker 1: I don't think so. I know my mother got a
- 25:43Speaker 1: divorce with my dad. She kept his name because of me,
- 25:47Speaker 1: you know, because she had a kid, right, daughter, I
- 25:52Speaker 1: did the same thing, because right, But if you have
- 25:55Speaker 1: a child, that changes everything, because you don't want to
- 25:57Speaker 1: change your name and have your daughter or your ass
- 26:00Speaker 1: out up at the school. Well, who is miss Perkins? Yes?
- 26:04Speaker 1: It was always so confusing when growing up. It was like,
- 26:09Speaker 1: you know, the kid's name was Johnson and the mother's
- 26:12Speaker 1: name was brand you know. And I think I think,
- 26:16Speaker 1: if you have children, I think you keep the name
- 26:18Speaker 1: because it just keeps it clear for you why your
- 26:21Speaker 1: mama named that exactly, you know, So I understand that. Yeah,
- 26:26Speaker 1: for child, it makes a difference. Okay, all right, all right?
- 26:28Speaker 1: Moving on to Leah and New York. Leah says, I've
- 26:31Speaker 1: been dating a mama's boy for almost a year. I'd
- 26:34Speaker 1: hope that by now he would want more of me
- 26:37Speaker 1: and less of mama, But he still has dinner with
- 26:40Speaker 1: her several times a month, and he tells her all
- 26:42Speaker 1: of our business. It causes her to look at me differently.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Is it a loss cause with him and his mama?
- 26:49Speaker 1: Will this ever get better? No? No? Once a mama's
- 26:55Speaker 1: boy always. What can you do to change the dynamics
- 27:01Speaker 1: of the relationship of a mama's boy? Nothing? You're not
- 27:05Speaker 1: gonna do. What is mama? Do? You already doing some
- 27:08Speaker 1: things that is mama don't do. And if that don't
- 27:11Speaker 1: make a difference, I don't know what will. That's not
- 27:15Speaker 1: gonna change. This is a mama's boy. He has dinner
- 27:19Speaker 1: with his mama several times a month. I don't know
- 27:21Speaker 1: how many times that is. But that's cool, you know
- 27:24Speaker 1: what I'm saying. That don't make him a mama's boy.
- 27:27Speaker 1: But if you're telling all the business. But and it's
- 27:32Speaker 1: a lot more than that, that mama's boy thing turns
- 27:36Speaker 1: into texting and laughing and sitting up on the phone
- 27:39Speaker 1: telling jokes and Mama coming over watching movies with y'all.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And you know he I'm staying at Mama's house tonight
- 27:49Speaker 1: because she's scared. The wind was blowing you know that
- 27:53Speaker 1: stuff like that. Yeah, you know, I got to go
- 27:58Speaker 1: over here and I got to get my mom car fixed,
- 28:02Speaker 1: so we ain't gonna be able to get out car
- 28:03Speaker 1: fixed this month. You know when to get into that.
- 28:08Speaker 1: It's dangerous. Got another one? Sho, Yes, I do? Uh
- 28:13Speaker 1: Norris and Philly says, I'm a single man in my
- 28:15Speaker 1: late twenties and I'm having sex with a girl that
- 28:17Speaker 1: lives next door to me. My girlfriend and I are
- 28:20Speaker 1: on and off a lot, so this woman feels in
- 28:23Speaker 1: the gap when we're having problems. It's just sex for me,
- 28:26Speaker 1: but the neighbor is catching feelings. She knows I have
- 28:29Speaker 1: a girl. So why is she getting caught up? What? Yeah? Yeah, No,
- 28:36Speaker 1: next dough, Why is she getting cause she know I
- 28:40Speaker 1: got a girlfriend. Because that's the plan. See, y'all keep
- 28:45Speaker 1: being off. She jump in the off spot, figuring that
- 28:50Speaker 1: one day you ain't gonna be back home. I got
- 28:52Speaker 1: news for you. She gonna come over that knock on
- 28:54Speaker 1: the door next time your girlfriend over there. I got
- 28:57Speaker 1: news for you. Do this fitn't be a problem. Next
- 28:59Speaker 1: Dough not fing to sit there and he on that
- 29:01Speaker 1: commotion going on up against a wall, and she not
- 29:03Speaker 1: gonna say nothing, m you know, putting me on the
- 29:07Speaker 1: wall like that last week when you was off with him.
- 29:10Speaker 1: That's right, all right, sella thank you. Coming up at
- 29:14Speaker 1: the top of the hour, we'll have some entertainment dudes
- 29:16Speaker 1: for you. Right after this. You're listening Stave Harvey Morning Show,
- 29:22Speaker 1: we'll all start game weekend highlights they were this weekend. Uh.
- 29:26Speaker 1: First of all, let's get this out of the way
- 29:28Speaker 1: right now. Who saw Macy Gray thing the national anthem?
- 29:33Speaker 1: I did? Yeah, take a Linchen, take a listen, and
- 29:37Speaker 1: we'll talk about it. Yeah. Game, she didn't have no
- 30:27Speaker 1: V in her braid, was no V in her braid,
- 30:30Speaker 1: trailed off the V in it, but it was pure
- 30:35Speaker 1: Macy Gray though it was. Yeah, well she sung it
- 30:39Speaker 1: in pure Cleveland. So we was up in that holland laughing.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I don't even give it that Cleveland. Don't care, man,
- 30:46Speaker 1: I'm just telling you. What did you see when they
- 30:48Speaker 1: showed the lebron and Steph Cary trying to play it off?
- 30:53Speaker 1: And I love Macy Gray. Oh I do too, doo.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I love her, And that's what you expect Macy Gray.
- 31:00Speaker 1: You hired. Yeah, so the lebron m buss out laughing.
- 31:06Speaker 1: They they wanted to though, Tim, They was just I'm
- 31:13Speaker 1: talking about set back down. Yeah, Cleveland, it is what
- 31:21Speaker 1: it is in Cleveland. Man, that's funny. And I watched
- 31:26Speaker 1: the slam dunk contest. You know I didn't didn't see
- 31:31Speaker 1: none of this, dude. I worked my butt out. What
- 31:32Speaker 1: what tell me about it? Dunk contest? Who want the
- 31:36Speaker 1: dude out of New York? Yeah, he was supposed to
- 31:40Speaker 1: win it. He was the best. Yeah, you know, I
- 31:43Speaker 1: can't even touch your rim no more so them days.
- 31:46Speaker 1: It is done. But I mean them dudes was some
- 31:49Speaker 1: of the stuff was. It just wasn't what I na.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It wasn't nothing, man. It was Jordan's, Vince Carter, nobody.
- 32:01Speaker 1: It wasn't nobody doing nothing special. Yeah. Nah. The one
- 32:06Speaker 1: dunk I saw where he did the three sixty up
- 32:10Speaker 1: under the leg win wheel, that was who. That was funky.
- 32:14Speaker 1: But the one he missed. I wanted to see him
- 32:16Speaker 1: tap it on the backboard then go on his legs
- 32:19Speaker 1: and dunk, but he never got it back off the backboard,
- 32:24Speaker 1: and Shack just looked thoroughly. Man. Yes, but I don't
- 32:30Speaker 1: like when you do four five attempts at a dunk
- 32:33Speaker 1: and you don't make it because even if you do
- 32:35Speaker 1: make it, after that, you know there's too many chances. Yeah,
- 32:41Speaker 1: the performance were DJ Khaled, Mary J. Blige, Ludicrous, Little Wayne,
- 32:46Speaker 1: Little Baby, and Amigos. So that was good. Then on Sunday,
- 32:50Speaker 1: during the All Star Game itself, Lebron James pulled out
- 32:53Speaker 1: a game winning three pointer to score the win for
- 32:56Speaker 1: Team Lebron, the final score one sixty three to one
- 32:59Speaker 1: sixty against Team Durant. Now, Kevin Durant was not there
- 33:04Speaker 1: due to the passing of his grandmother, And yeah, our
- 33:09Speaker 1: condolences of course. Um, and it wasn't all Lebron. Steph
- 33:14Speaker 1: Curry was welcomed by the crowd with booze. Again they
- 33:17Speaker 1: were in Cleveland because he's beat because he's beat Cleveland
- 33:25Speaker 1: several times in the finals. We don't forgive Timmy. That
- 33:28Speaker 1: ain't what we do. We're not forgiving people. You know,
- 33:32Speaker 1: we're not in that lost. No, it's not no, it's
- 33:37Speaker 1: not no, it's not a game. It's called hatred. That's
- 33:42Speaker 1: what we have and we're not letting it go. So
- 33:46Speaker 1: you came in here and you beat us and won
- 33:48Speaker 1: the title. We hate you. Don't come up here to play.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Ween sportsmen were not fitting play like you know, we
- 33:54Speaker 1: care for you, we re respect your talent. None of that.
- 33:58Speaker 1: It's hatred. But did you see did you see Michael Jordan,
- 34:03Speaker 1: Isaiah Thomas, doctor Jay, et cetera. All of them were there.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Did you see the legend? Yeah? Man, because it was
- 34:08Speaker 1: the seven Way. I mean, everybody was there. Man. It
- 34:14Speaker 1: was nice. It was nice. Crowd was on their feet
- 34:16Speaker 1: as Steph Curry said an all time Games All Star
- 34:20Speaker 1: game record. He was named MVP, scoring fifty total points
- 34:25Speaker 1: for Team LA. Wow. Yeah again, Yeah, congratulates on the
- 34:33Speaker 1: fifty points. Oh, by the way, we still hate you.
- 34:38Speaker 1: All right, We'll moving on from the hatred to some love,
- 34:42Speaker 1: some blessings and celebrity baby news. R and B singer
- 34:46Speaker 1: key Key Wyatt posted on her Instagram page that she
- 34:51Speaker 1: is pregnant with her eleventh child. Eleventh child. She looked
- 34:57Speaker 1: we were doing throwback babies. Now we're just doing some
- 35:00Speaker 1: nineteen forty. Oh it's just because that's a lot of kids. Yeah,
- 35:07Speaker 1: is it the same day? The second child Tommy with
- 35:11Speaker 1: her third husband, her third husband, I don't know, her
- 35:16Speaker 1: second child with her third husband. She got leven kids,
- 35:20Speaker 1: shared yeah, I know. So she's had other kids with
- 35:25Speaker 1: her others of her previous marriages. Yeah, I like her. Man,
- 35:30Speaker 1: she cool girl. You can do your things. That's what
- 35:32Speaker 1: you want to do. I'm not having eleven kids at all,
- 35:36Speaker 1: seven nothing. Did not want all them, honest, every baby story.
- 35:48Speaker 1: I mean, I mean they here now, but you know,
- 35:52Speaker 1: you know, champagne and bubbles when I got the news
- 35:57Speaker 1: up in twenty minutes after the hour, we'll have more
- 35:59Speaker 1: of Steve Robert Morning Show coming up right after this
- 36:02Speaker 1: you're listening to show. Yesterday was President's Day, and in
- 36:08Speaker 1: honor of the occasion, a new poll looked to find
- 36:11Speaker 1: out whether people would have any desire to be president themselves,
- 36:15Speaker 1: just even for one day, just one day. It looks
- 36:18Speaker 1: like most people do not want that job. Okay, only
- 36:22Speaker 1: thirty nine percent of Americans are very or somewhat interested
- 36:26Speaker 1: in being president for a day. Fifty five are not
- 36:30Speaker 1: very or not interested at all. And Steve, you here
- 36:34Speaker 1: at all the time people say you should run for president.
- 36:36Speaker 1: So do you think you would be a better president
- 36:39Speaker 1: than the average historical president and how would you do
- 36:42Speaker 1: things differently? Yeah, well, I would definitely be a better
- 36:47Speaker 1: president than all of them, Joe's, Washington, Aid, Lincoln, all
- 36:52Speaker 1: of them. No, I'm being better. I'd act, you know,
- 36:56Speaker 1: I'd be a better president than all of them because
- 37:01Speaker 1: of the way what I'm not gonna accept. See, I'm
- 37:05Speaker 1: not I'm not talking. Y'all. Can't say what you want
- 37:10Speaker 1: to say to me, and don't expect me to say
- 37:12Speaker 1: nothing back. And I'm doing that Supreme Order stuff all
- 37:17Speaker 1: the time. That executive order, I'm doing all that. I
- 37:21Speaker 1: don't give a damn what your sin its say. I'm
- 37:26Speaker 1: signing it into order. That's what I'm doing. Nothing to
- 37:29Speaker 1: ask you nothing. I'm care about what your party say,
- 37:33Speaker 1: what my party say. I'm the president. Yeah, you're gonna
- 37:39Speaker 1: have the briefings, briefings in the morning. Hey listen, Hey,
- 37:43Speaker 1: thank y'all all for coming. This is what we're doing now.
- 37:48Speaker 1: I pull all troops out of all parts of the world.
- 37:52Speaker 1: We're not doing this no more. And I'm on fighting,
- 37:57Speaker 1: and I'm on fighting. All y'all are signing up for
- 37:59Speaker 1: all the free educations, probably ain't gonna have them. Well,
- 38:05Speaker 1: everybody signed up in a military for these free educations
- 38:08Speaker 1: that probably ain't gonna have them, because we ain't gonna
- 38:11Speaker 1: be we're gonna lose a lot of y'all in the
- 38:13Speaker 1: you know process or withdrawals. Appreciate your service. We're gonna
- 38:19Speaker 1: get you your check, but we ain't gonna need you
- 38:22Speaker 1: over here. We're gonna sell all these guns. Yes, any
- 38:28Speaker 1: police officer that shoots a black person will be shot.
- 38:32Speaker 1: They damn self. Right now, Slow this down, right now. Yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 1: you'll come before me. I'm gonna look at the video
- 38:44Speaker 1: and I'm gonna pass judgment. No more cases, no more trials.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna look at the video and I'm gonna make
- 38:52Speaker 1: the call based on the video. If you don't have
- 38:55Speaker 1: your body cam own, I'm assuming you are hiding everdence,
- 39:00Speaker 1: your ass is gone anyway. But mister President, that's what
- 39:04Speaker 1: That's not what the Constitution said. Are you a judge
- 39:07Speaker 1: of the press. Yeah, yeah, Well let me ask you
- 39:10Speaker 1: a question. Have you read the Constitution? Not all of it? Yeah?
- 39:15Speaker 1: You feel as though were in there any way. So wise,
- 39:18Speaker 1: we're paying attitchen to it. Coming up at thirty four
- 39:21Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, we'll have more of the Steve
- 39:23Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Right after this. You're listening to the
- 39:27Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. The police officer who killed Dante
- 39:32Speaker 1: Wright has received what can only be considered a light sentence.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Brooklyn Heights, Minnesota officer Kim Potter was convicted of first
- 39:41Speaker 1: and second degree manslaughter. She aimed her gun and fired
- 39:45Speaker 1: on right during a traffic stop, but she said she
- 39:48Speaker 1: thought she pulled her taser, not her gun. She's been
- 39:52Speaker 1: sentenced to just twenty four months, twenty four months in custody,
- 39:56Speaker 1: sixteen in prison, and eight under supervi to release. She
- 40:01Speaker 1: could have faced up to twenty five years behind bars.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Prosecutors were seeking seven years. Judge Regina Chew defended the
- 40:09Speaker 1: two years sentence she gave officer Keim Potter by saying
- 40:11Speaker 1: Potter was a cop who made a tragic mistake, not
- 40:15Speaker 1: who committed murder. Citing the case of George Floyd, civil
- 40:19Speaker 1: rights attorney Ben Crump said, there are black people in
- 40:21Speaker 1: prison serving greater time for selling marijuana, which is legal
- 40:25Speaker 1: in most states, than this police officer gets for killing
- 40:29Speaker 1: this young black man. It just goes to show you
- 40:32Speaker 1: the actual value that they placed on black life. Because
- 40:36Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, if a black police officer
- 40:40Speaker 1: had done this same thing and killed a white person
- 40:44Speaker 1: of any gender, age, whatever, do you think for one
- 40:49Speaker 1: moment that they would just say he made a tragic mistake.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Not at all. No, he did not honor his training.
- 40:58Speaker 1: He should have known better. You can mistake your taser
- 41:01Speaker 1: for your gun. I'm sorry. It can't happen. You can't
- 41:07Speaker 1: take a person's life and get twenty four months. I'm sorry.
- 41:12Speaker 1: And the amazing thing of this, and what I keep
- 41:15Speaker 1: saying is this never happens to white people ever. They're
- 41:22Speaker 1: never accidentally shot, they're never there, they're never shot in
- 41:28Speaker 1: the back running by the police. When white people get
- 41:32Speaker 1: shot by the police, they are in that active act
- 41:35Speaker 1: of committing a felony or crime. Other than that, they
- 41:41Speaker 1: don't make mistakes with white people, they don't, But they
- 41:46Speaker 1: make them with black people all the time, which lets
- 41:48Speaker 1: me know it's not mistakes, it's training. And like and
- 41:55Speaker 1: like Benjamin Crump said, it's black people doing more time
- 41:59Speaker 1: for selling weed. It make no sense, man, that you
- 42:02Speaker 1: can do that. But she's a white lady and she
- 42:05Speaker 1: killed a black man. What what? What's the big deal?
- 42:10Speaker 1: And and guess what, ain't a damn thing we can
- 42:16Speaker 1: do by itself. Get over here and be all right
- 42:18Speaker 1: with it. But see, we tied it at though, because
- 42:21Speaker 1: we've never really been all right with it. If any
- 42:25Speaker 1: white people are listening, we would like to make the
- 42:27Speaker 1: announcement we as black people have never been okay with
- 42:32Speaker 1: the sentences that's been paying handed down and the treatment
- 42:36Speaker 1: of blacks in the judicial system. Just to go on
- 42:38Speaker 1: record officially, we have never been okay with this. In
- 42:42Speaker 1: case you're thinking that we think it's powerful power for
- 42:47Speaker 1: the course, or we think it's just the way it is,
- 42:50Speaker 1: We're not okay with it. And that's been our protest
- 42:54Speaker 1: the entire time, and even though you all have allowed
- 42:58Speaker 1: our protest to fall on deaf years, Please know we
- 43:02Speaker 1: are not okay with it, but we have come to
- 43:07Speaker 1: the conclusion that you are. That's what's sad to me.
- 43:15Speaker 1: I wish I had time to play something that I
- 43:18Speaker 1: pulled up from this lady that had asked a group
- 43:21Speaker 1: of whites to question online, and it was just so
- 43:25Speaker 1: compelling because the answer was, let me see if I
- 43:28Speaker 1: got it, let me see if I can play it.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I think I have it. If you, as a white person,
- 43:33Speaker 1: would be happy to see the same treatment that our
- 43:36Speaker 1: black citizens are in this society, please stand. You didn't
- 43:41Speaker 1: understand the directions if you white folks want to be
- 43:46Speaker 1: treated the way blacks are in this society, stand nobody's
- 43:50Speaker 1: standing here. That says very plainly that you know what's happening.
- 43:57Speaker 1: You know you don't want it for you. I want
- 44:00Speaker 1: to know why you're so willing to accept it our tally.
- 44:04Speaker 1: That's just that's all I have to say. Thank you,
- 44:09Speaker 1: That's all I have to say. Thank you. Having a
- 44:11Speaker 1: nice day, y'all. It's in case you thought we was
- 44:13Speaker 1: okay with it. Coming up next, we're gonna switch gears here.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Nephew Tommy is in the building with today's prank phone call.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to the Dave Harvey Morning Show.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, about four
- 44:28Speaker 1: minutes after. It's my Strawberry letter for today, and today's
- 44:32Speaker 1: subject is what was she doing while I was gone
- 44:36Speaker 1: find out? We'll get into it in just a little bit,
- 44:40Speaker 1: but right now the nephew is here with today's pryank
- 44:43Speaker 1: phone call. What you got for us? Nap? All right now,
- 44:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask. I'm just gonna say it. You know,
- 44:49Speaker 1: don't let it be shocking to you, but you know,
- 44:52Speaker 1: it's just something we're working on it. We need you
- 44:54Speaker 1: to be a slave for a day? What slave? What
- 45:02Speaker 1: for a day? I mean it's black history. So just
- 45:04Speaker 1: work with us, now, just work with us that we
- 45:06Speaker 1: ain't asking for months. Slaves for a day, let's up. Hey,
- 45:12Speaker 1: Hey it's just a day. Okay, it's just a day.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Give us let's go cat dog slave for a day. Hello. Hello,
- 45:24Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach to you, missus Glinda, Please, miss Glenda.
- 45:29Speaker 1: This is Gary. Gary. I'm with the Black History Okay
- 45:33Speaker 1: you you you participated last year in the in the
- 45:36Speaker 1: Black History Parade? Am I right? Yes? I should did. Okay,
- 45:39Speaker 1: I got your name from one of the members on
- 45:41Speaker 1: the committee and we're trying to see if you can
- 45:43Speaker 1: actually build some help for this year's Black History. Um,
- 45:46Speaker 1: for this month, I should be glad to help. Okay, listen, UM,
- 45:51Speaker 1: we're having an auction tomorrow and wanted to see if
- 45:53Speaker 1: you could actually maybe build some help with the auction
- 45:56Speaker 1: that we actually have gone on tomorrow. Yes, do I
- 46:00Speaker 1: need to donate anything or but no that you need No,
- 46:04Speaker 1: we're not really trying to get some donation from you
- 46:06Speaker 1: this time. We're trying to see if you have some
- 46:08Speaker 1: time tomorrow to come out and actually help out with
- 46:11Speaker 1: the actual auction. Okay, what time tomorrow? Probably like about
- 46:16Speaker 1: nine o'clock in the morning. I can do that, Okay.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Now we're asking that you wear something that you'll be
- 46:21Speaker 1: comfortable in all day tomorrow possible, okay, Okay, pretty much
- 46:25Speaker 1: an all day event that we're trying to get you
- 46:27Speaker 1: to do. Okay, I could be there around nine the
- 46:30Speaker 1: time we have to leave about four. Well, I'll tell
- 46:32Speaker 1: you what. We'll see what we can, how we can
- 46:34Speaker 1: work it out, but we definitely want you to come
- 46:36Speaker 1: and be a part of what we're doing. So what
- 46:38Speaker 1: is it that you really need be to do? Um? Well, actually,
- 46:42Speaker 1: you know, we we we got a lot of people
- 46:43Speaker 1: doing different things at the you know, at the auction,
- 46:46Speaker 1: you know, so we just want you to come out
- 46:47Speaker 1: and be of some help with everything that's going on. Okay, Well,
- 46:51Speaker 1: I want to be prepared. So what exactly do I
- 46:53Speaker 1: need to do? Work the concessions they in something like that. No, really,
- 46:56Speaker 1: what we had is actually you being a part of
- 46:59Speaker 1: the auction, being a part of the auction such as well,
- 47:04Speaker 1: what we're doing tomorrow is we have already we already
- 47:07Speaker 1: have fifty people who are signed up and you would
- 47:09Speaker 1: be you know, one of those people that are that
- 47:12Speaker 1: are that are signed up to do the actual What
- 47:15Speaker 1: is is we're having slaves for a day, and what
- 47:18Speaker 1: we're gonna be doing is auctioning you. Often, somebody's gonna
- 47:21Speaker 1: buy you tomorrow and you will be the for the
- 47:24Speaker 1: day slaves. Yeah, you will be the slave for the day.
- 47:27Speaker 1: That's what that's what we've decided to do with the
- 47:30Speaker 1: Black history. We decided. I didn't mean I don't I
- 47:33Speaker 1: want to participate, but being a slave no, okay, but
- 47:38Speaker 1: see what you what I want you to understand that
- 47:40Speaker 1: this is a word that calls though you know we
- 47:42Speaker 1: want worthy call but I'm not gonna be no play Well,
- 47:46Speaker 1: well you I mean you don't have to call it
- 47:47Speaker 1: a slave. I mean as a servant, you know, a butler.
- 47:51Speaker 1: You know what I mean when you want to call it.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I'm just saying, no slave, Okay, okay, man man, miss
- 47:58Speaker 1: miss Glenna. We don't trying to explain this is a
- 48:00Speaker 1: word to call for the Black history and we're trying
- 48:02Speaker 1: to get you to be there. Somebody may buy you
- 48:04Speaker 1: for five hundred dollars tomorrow. No, I'm not gonna do it. Okay,
- 48:09Speaker 1: are you are you? Are you turning us down for
- 48:12Speaker 1: a word that calls mister glense, Yes, I am turning
- 48:15Speaker 1: your down. Don't call me with that kind of no more.
- 48:18Speaker 1: I mean, I don't understand what what the problem is.
- 48:20Speaker 1: You know, sometimes we got to repeat history, so we
- 48:23Speaker 1: don't go back to the history. Sometimes we got to
- 48:25Speaker 1: do it again so we don't go back to what
- 48:27Speaker 1: you understand? But it isn't seem like you You acting
- 48:30Speaker 1: like a houseene grow or something like you two up
- 48:33Speaker 1: at the hawsne grow house need grow. Who's the chairman
- 48:37Speaker 1: of this? Excuse me the chairman? Last time I spoke
- 48:41Speaker 1: with mister Wilson and we didn't have no like this. Okay,
- 48:44Speaker 1: and I understand that. But what I'm trying to explain
- 48:46Speaker 1: to you is this is something that I don't want
- 48:48Speaker 1: you to explain pain to me. Do not call me
- 48:50Speaker 1: with this kind of again. Are you gonna show up tomorrow?
- 48:53Speaker 1: But we can sell you? Do you understand me? Are
- 48:56Speaker 1: you gonna show him tomorrow so we can sell you?
- 48:58Speaker 1: We already have you know, We're gonna say, tell me
- 49:00Speaker 1: we are listed to be sold tomorrow. Sell you. We've
- 49:04Speaker 1: got you listed to be sold tomorrow, ma'am, can we
- 49:07Speaker 1: please make shoot don't be sold and you not call
- 49:10Speaker 1: here again. Hey, listen, if you don't show up tomorrow,
- 49:13Speaker 1: then we will come to your house and sell you there.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Come too. If I got to come out, you would
- 49:21Speaker 1: over here. If you want to listen, I will come
- 49:24Speaker 1: there to sell you. If you're not gonna come out
- 49:26Speaker 1: to the auction, come on to my house, you bad,
- 49:28Speaker 1: come on to my mouse. Okay, I tell you you
- 49:30Speaker 1: know what I need you to do this. You need
- 49:32Speaker 1: to start saying yes sir and no sir to me
- 49:34Speaker 1: right now. Okay, I need to get you in the
- 49:36Speaker 1: in the frame of mind being a save for to day. Okay,
- 49:40Speaker 1: I didn't hear what you said. Kiss my black I'm
- 49:45Speaker 1: coming to your house tomorrow and I'm gonna sell you
- 49:47Speaker 1: in front of your house. If you want to come
- 49:48Speaker 1: down to the auction tomorrow morning at nine o'clock, you
- 49:51Speaker 1: better not bring you house. Do you better not? Do
- 49:55Speaker 1: you understand me? I a march for civil rights. I
- 49:59Speaker 1: don't have time no like that. And we got for
- 50:02Speaker 1: president you I understand we got a black man for president.
- 50:06Speaker 1: But right now we're trying to raise some money for
- 50:08Speaker 1: black history and we need to sell you tomorrow morning.
- 50:11Speaker 1: You're not gonna sell me. You're not gonna sell me.
- 50:14Speaker 1: You don't call my house no more? Do you understand?
- 50:17Speaker 1: Do not call? I understand exactly what you're saying. Can
- 50:20Speaker 1: I tell you something else? Who else is gonna be
- 50:22Speaker 1: so tomorrow? Tell all now? Don't tell me. I got
- 50:26Speaker 1: one more thing I do need to tell you. What

- 51:28Speaker 1: You did you? Sure? Indeed it. I got one more.
- 51:33Speaker 1: I got one more thing to ask you. What is
- 51:35Speaker 1: what is the baddest and I mean the baddest radio

- 51:41Speaker 1: the nephew Tommy, We love you, missus Glendon, Okay, love

- 52:11Speaker 1: What exactly? You know you don't want me working the concessions?
- 52:14Speaker 1: So what you want me doing? Thank you? She kind
- 52:17Speaker 1: of knew then when she saw asking questions, she was like,
- 52:19Speaker 1: just about to be some that you did. That's right, Wow,
- 52:25Speaker 1: she said, I paved the way. Baby. I've been there
- 52:28Speaker 1: to the sit ends, the boycotts, all of that, and
- 52:31Speaker 1: here you come with this foolishness. You come with this foolishness. Hey,
- 52:38Speaker 1: I want to thank Baltimore, Maryland man. Y'all sold me

- 54:13Speaker 1: on tight. We got it for you here it is
- 54:15Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter. Thank you, nephew. Subject what was she doing
- 54:19Speaker 1: while I was gone? Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm a thirty
- 54:22Speaker 1: three year old black man married for nine years. When
- 54:25Speaker 1: I got married, I was young and still in the streets.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Over time, I got an associate's degree and I got
- 54:32Speaker 1: a job in a position of leadership, but I was
- 54:35Speaker 1: still hanging out with the same crew, and I got
- 54:37Speaker 1: caught up and ended up in jail. A friend of
- 54:40Speaker 1: mine asked me to drive him to the liquor store,
- 54:43Speaker 1: so I did. He went in and came out, and
- 54:45Speaker 1: we left. I had no idea that he had committed
- 54:49Speaker 1: an armed robbery until I was arrested for being a
- 54:52Speaker 1: getaway driver. My wife had just had our third son,
- 54:55Speaker 1: but she held me down because she knows I'm not
- 54:58Speaker 1: a bad guy. I did time and I got home
- 55:01Speaker 1: six months ago. I listened to the radio show while
- 55:04Speaker 1: I was locked up, and this is my favorite subject,
- 55:07Speaker 1: so I'm trying to see if you could help me.
- 55:11Speaker 1: My wife is a lot different since I got home.
- 55:13Speaker 1: She dresses differently, and she smokes weed, which is legal
- 55:17Speaker 1: in our area. She dictates if and when we have sex,
- 55:21Speaker 1: and she rations out money to me. I feel as
- 55:25Speaker 1: if I can't say anything because of what I put
- 55:27Speaker 1: her through while I was locked up. We were watching
- 55:29Speaker 1: TV the other night and her phone rang and she
- 55:32Speaker 1: left the room to talk. I didn't say a word.
- 55:35Speaker 1: The next morning, she got a call and I could
- 55:38Speaker 1: hear that it was a man on the phone. She
- 55:40Speaker 1: talked for about three minutes, and as soon as she
- 55:42Speaker 1: hung up, I told her she has a lot of
- 55:44Speaker 1: nerve allowing men to call her while she's home, and
- 55:47Speaker 1: there is no way this can continue. She told me
- 55:51Speaker 1: to hush and be glad I still have a home
- 55:54Speaker 1: because her friends helped her out by doing things in
- 55:57Speaker 1: and around the house while I was away. I asked
- 56:00Speaker 1: her what in and around the house meant, and she
- 56:03Speaker 1: ignored me. I have to keep cool and not explode
- 56:07Speaker 1: on her. What's the best way to approach it? Well,
- 56:13Speaker 1: you know, right now the best thing you can do
- 56:15Speaker 1: is get yourself together. Okay, time doesn't stop when you
- 56:19Speaker 1: go to prison. Stop expecting things to be the same,
- 56:24Speaker 1: and you need to think about the future. What was
- 56:27Speaker 1: she doing while you were gone, Well, she was surviving. Obviously,
- 56:30Speaker 1: she was taking care of three kids alone. She was
- 56:33Speaker 1: probably scared. You said. She held it down while you
- 56:36Speaker 1: were in jail, and she did let you come back home. Okay,
- 56:41Speaker 1: but the respect and apparently the love are gone out
- 56:44Speaker 1: of this relationship. You see and hear what she's doing.
- 56:49Speaker 1: She's talking with other men. Of course you don't like it.
- 56:52Speaker 1: I mean what man would like that from their wife.
- 56:55Speaker 1: So now you need to concentrate on your next move
- 56:58Speaker 1: and that that's being your own And because your wife
- 57:01Speaker 1: is doing her thing, there's nothing you can do about it.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Right now, you said it. You have to keep cool
- 57:06Speaker 1: and not explode on her. You need to get your dignity,
- 57:11Speaker 1: your self respect back. So I suggest you get a
- 57:13Speaker 1: job somewhere, you start making your own money so she
- 57:17Speaker 1: won't have to ration it out to you. As you say,
- 57:20Speaker 1: I mean, you know, no man wants that save it
- 57:25Speaker 1: for your apartments. You know, then you know, fix the
- 57:30Speaker 1: situation with your wife and these kids. You might have
- 57:32Speaker 1: to arrange visitation rights if you do eventually get your
- 57:36Speaker 1: own apartment, And I say, making sure your kids are okay,
- 57:39Speaker 1: that should be your top priority right now anyway, because
- 57:42Speaker 1: they missed a lot of time with you. Your youngest
- 57:44Speaker 1: son orly even knows you. You're concentrating on the wrong things.
- 57:49Speaker 1: I think you expect things to be the same. Clearly
- 57:51Speaker 1: your wife has moved on. You need to do the
- 57:53Speaker 1: same now, but with purpose. Okay, Steve, this is gonna
- 57:59Speaker 1: be a tough went to answer for your young brother.
- 58:02Speaker 1: So I'm gonna just take you through this thing step
- 58:06Speaker 1: by step because one of the first things when you're
- 58:10Speaker 1: trying to solve his problem is taking full responsibility and
- 58:16Speaker 1: knowing what it is that you can do to bring
- 58:18Speaker 1: about change. The question is in the subject what was
- 58:22Speaker 1: she doing while I was gone? Now, you're thirty three
- 58:26Speaker 1: year old black man, married for nine years. When you
- 58:28Speaker 1: got married, you were young and still in the streets,
- 58:32Speaker 1: so you were twenty four when you got married, same
- 58:35Speaker 1: ages me at my first marriage. That is young to
- 58:39Speaker 1: be married for anybody. But you were still in the streets.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Over time, you got an associate degree, and you got
- 58:46Speaker 1: a job in a position of leadership. So you're realizing
- 58:50Speaker 1: that you got to do better for yourself. Here's the
- 58:53Speaker 1: mistake you made. But I was still hanging with the
- 58:56Speaker 1: same crew, and I got caught up and ended up
- 58:59Speaker 1: in jail. Hell, how many times have I said this
- 59:03Speaker 1: to people? Everybody come with you can't go with you.
- 59:07Speaker 1: In order to grow, you have to go. I've said,
- 59:10Speaker 1: it's so many different ways. You can't wear about keeping
- 59:15Speaker 1: it real. You got to keep it moving. I've said
- 59:18Speaker 1: all of these things that tie us to the hood,
- 59:21Speaker 1: that ties to our old relationships and friends, But you
- 59:24Speaker 1: can't go get an associate degree. Here's another one I
- 59:28Speaker 1: said a long time ago. You can't be a college
- 59:30Speaker 1: student and a thug in the same census. It don't match.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Thugging and college student don't match. Now, you didn't know
- 59:40Speaker 1: what was going on, but you dropped your friend off
- 59:42Speaker 1: at a liquor store. He goes in and comes back out.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Next thing you know, you're arrested because you the getaway
- 59:46Speaker 1: car driver. You didn't know this fool went in here
- 59:49Speaker 1: and robbed the damn liquor store. So now you're out
- 59:53Speaker 1: and you're an accomplished to committing an arm robbery. Your
- 59:57Speaker 1: wife had just had your third son, but she held
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: you down because she knows I'm not a bad guy,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: did my time, and I came home six months ago.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Now here's a problem. You're not telling me how long
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: you were in You're not saying that, and you're leaving
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: that out of the letter because it helps you. But
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: uncle Steve, no better m robbery. Even with a plea
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: you year a half two. Even if they believed you,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: they they let you plead to this right here. All right,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: hang on, we'll have part two of Steve's response coming
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: up at twenty three minutes after the hour of subject
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: what was she doing while I was gone? We'll get
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: back into it right after this. You're listening show, all right,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Come on, Steve, let's recap today Strawberry letter. The subject
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: what was she doing while I was gone? Well, thirty
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: three year old black man married for nine years, was
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: in the streets when you got married. But you messed
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: around and got self degree, congratulations, got you a job
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: of position and leadership. But the mistake you made. You
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: was still hanging with the same crew. You got caught
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: up and you got ended up in jail. Now, you
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: drop a friend off at the liquor store a little
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: too you know, he goes in and he robs the place.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: He comes back and gets in the car. You don't
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: know this until you get arrested because you were driving
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: the getaway car. Okay. Now, your wife had just had
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: your third son, but she held you down in prison
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: jail because she knows you're not a bad guy. You
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: did your time, and you got home six months ago.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: You didn't really say how much time you're doing. I'm
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: assuming a couple of years, you know, eighteen months something
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: on the plea you did because they believe that you
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: just went in there and you didn't know. But let's
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: say you were gone a couple of years, all right.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: You come out and you listen to the radio show
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: while he was locked up. Thank you and Strawberry Letter
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: one your favorite things. So that got you through. We
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: appreciate y'all, brothers. Since is it's on lockdown, I hope
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: we do something to get you through. Not. You come
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: home and you notice that your wife is a lot
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: different since you got home. She dresses differently, she smokes weed,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: which is legal in our area. She dictates if and
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: when we have sex, and she rashes out money to me.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I feel as though I can't say anything because of
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: what I put her through while I was locked up. Now,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: y'all watch the TV. The other night, the phone rang
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: and she left the room to talk. You ain't say nothing.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Next morning, she got a call and you could hear
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: that it was a man on the phone. She talked
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: about three minutes. As soon as she hung up, I
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: told her she got a lot of nerve allowing me
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: and to call her while she's home, and there's no
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: way this can continue. She told me to hush. Pretty sure.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: The word wasn't hushed. I think it was a little
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: bit more harsh than that. I think it started with
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: shut yeah, okay, Sutley, and glad that you still have
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: a home because her friends helped her out by doing
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: things in and around the house while I was away.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I asked her what in and the house meant, and
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: she ignored me. I have to keep cool and not
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: explode on her. What's the best way to approach it? Well, brother,
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: things have changed. She dressing different, and she's smoking weed.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: She's gone through a lot holding his family down while
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: you was gone. But really, though, brother, these is the
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: consequences of your actions because you didn't leave them streets alone.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Well let's say you left the streets alone, but you
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: hang with the same crew. Association brings on participation. So
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: now here we are. One of your ignorant ass friends
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: did something ignorant selfishly didn't tell you. You got caught up.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: You had to do time. Now your girl been watching
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: you out in this streets. She has told you you're
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: leaving that part out the letter. She'd been told you
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: stopped hanging with them fools. You wouldn't do it because
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: you was keeping it real instead of keeping it moving.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: You was not forgetting where you from. You was getting
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: caught up in all that hood. Then go there. Ain't
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: got nothing to do with your family. So now here's
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: a deal. Shirley said it right. You've got to get
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: yourself together. But now you have a police record. Hard
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: to get employed with a police record. So now you've
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: got everything's all of this you bought on yourself. Brother,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: So now I can't tell you that your marriage will
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: ever get back because you never really allowed it to
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: get off the ground the right way. You stayed out
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: there in the streets. It's your marriage could be over.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: She has male friends, now, she has people that has
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: done things for her to help her out. Now, I'm
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: gonna just tell you flat out, if a man hadn't
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: done something to help you out, then we gotta think
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: about that for a second. I'm not saying she did anything,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: but you were. Man. But let's be fair. Let's not
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: be angry with this sister because you put this sister
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: in the position where she had to survive. And once
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: you put a person in survival mode, man, you can't
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: get mad at how they choose to survive. You just can't. Now,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: while she dressing different, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: I don't know if she wearing your clothes. I don't
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: know what this change or outfits is. That she wear
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: a lot of your clotheses. She wear baseball hats cocked
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: to the sides. I don't know what the clothes is.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: But she rationed and out sex and money because she
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: don't know how long you're gonna be round. You might
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: have to go again. I don't know what it is, brother,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: but you got to get yourself together. Don't be so
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: angry with the woman because she was put in survival mode.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I don't think you should explode on her because you
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: left her in a really, really bad situation with your
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: third son. Woman got three kids, she got put in
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: survival mode. She has some male friends, it looks like,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: and they're not your male friends. Good luck. Don't explode
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: on the sister. Maybe it's time for you to just
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: go somewhere and get yourself together, like Shirley say, take
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: care of your kids. Thank you, all right? Thanks Steve
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Poster comments on today's Strawberry Letter. It's Steve Harvey, f Emine,
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Instagram and Facebook. Check out the Strawberry Letter podcast on
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: demand coming up at forty six minutes after the hour,
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: We'll have Sports with We'll have Sports with UNC and
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: NET right after this. Yeah, you're listening to the Steve
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Junior is out today, Tommy and Steve.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Michigan basketball head coach Juwan Howard has been suspended for
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: the rest of the regular season. You guys were asking
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: about that yesterday. What was going to happen? He had
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: that altercation at the end of the laws against Wisconsin
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: on Sunday. Here's a breakdown of the suspensions. Okay head
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: coach Juwan Howard coaching suspension five games, which is the
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: remainder of the season. He got fined forty thousand dollars.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: He has not lost his job though he still works. No, no, no,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: he's just suspended for the rest of the season. Okay,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: student athlete Terrence Williams the second suspension one game, effective immediately,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: Student athlete Musa Diambatte suspension one game, effective immediately. And
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: for the University of Wisconsin head coach Greg Carr, Greg
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Gardin ten thousand dollars ten well, he ain't forty Okay,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: ten thousand um And student athlete Jacobe Neath suspension one
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: game effective immediately. So there was what was the second
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: kid's name you're seeing, Shirley. I try to get it right.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Most all of them is about black man that's African,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: though he in trouble. Her mom didn't gonna well, let
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: me say this, Uh, there's a little The problem I
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: have with this is not Juan's suspension. I knew they
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: was gonna go hard because the athletic director of Michigan
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: was against Juwan Howard from the outset. This is unacceptable.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: We were not This is Michigan, so I knew he
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: was in trouble with that. Juan Howard's a good dude.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: But when I look at the tapes, the initiator of
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: this whole thing was to head coach for Wisconsin. Right
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: when he tried to stop Juan, and Juan tried to
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: walk by him, and he grabbed his arm and pushed
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: it practically behind Juan and Juan will hold man, get
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: your hand off me. Then Juwan grabbed his fabric under
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: his skin shirt and then let his hand go. But
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: then Juwan's reason he's suspended is because of a punch
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: of the open hand swipe he took at the other
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: coach at the other right. Obviously, you're the only one
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: on the planet who saw that. Then, No, I don't know.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: I don't know how they did. I watched it a
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: bunch of times. The initiator of all contact was the
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: head coach from Wisconsin. He the first person put his
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: hands on Jiuana. Doesn't now Jiwan is paying for this
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: whole thing. I think it's a I was a little
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: disappointed in a couple of the sports casts the way
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: they jumped on Juan about it too, but it is
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: what it is now, so he gonna pay the fund,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: all of them. Stephen A. Smith said that he should
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: be suspended and needed. Stephen A. Smith said, you're the
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: only one that really happens. Stephen, ain't see what happened
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: at first, don't know what the I don't know how
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: they didn't. I watched the tape, the whole tape. That
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: initiation of physical contact was the Wisconsin coach. Forty thousand
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: dollars fine, ten thousand dollars fine, Okay, you do the
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: man coming up at the top of the hour. We'll
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Valentine's Day
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: was a week ago, and we don't really know if
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: this story is true, but according to Barstool Sports, Buffalo
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: Bill's players Stefan Diggs allegedly had two women in the
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: same hotel in two different rooms on Valentine's Day. That's
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: come on. One of the women is. One of the
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: women is his regular girlfriend, okay, the other one is
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: his new boom. Both posted pictures on Valentine's Day with
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: flowers balloons, which are now allegedly posted on a blogs
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: i G page, and it's not really clear if the
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: women are staying at the same hotel. It's all very confusing. Anyway,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: here's the question, here's the question, going from one room
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: to the other. If they could have had a joining suite. Okay, anyway,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: have you ever juggled two different people? This? This is
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: you know, for you guys, if you've ever jugged this morning,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: that means is that a yes? Tommy? Is that a yes? Anyway?
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Have you ever juggled two different people who both thought
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: that you were into them at the same time and
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: the same That's it. That's the question. I juggled some
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: balls in a Shakespeare plate. I'm not look at Steve.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Steve's hand is on his face. Stuff you ask us,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: amaze man, tell us story, Steve. Let's go back to
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Let's go back and talk about that story. I do
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: want to say something about Stefan Diggs. If you have
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: two girls in the same hotel, in different rooms on
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: Valentine's Day, you cannot get arrested for this. This is
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: not a crime being committed, you know. Uh. If they
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: both got the same types of rooms, that's that's good.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Where do you sleep at well, you don't sleep, Tommy.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: It's a lot of a lot of back and forth,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: a lot of ice ice. Now you're gonna have to
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: have a friend involved in this who can call your phone,
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: who has an offsight emergency that requires you to drive
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: there and help him. That's what would you do? Because
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: here comes the lies. Well, okay, Shirley you wanted the women,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: and caller you wanted the women. And now I got
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: to leave Caller's room to go up to Shirley's room.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: So here's what I'm gonna say to caller. Hevery baby,
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: hold on, I'm gonna go. I left something in the car.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna go down to the car and get something.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Everything I got flowers. You deserve more, baby, There's no
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: way on and went through all this. Listen, I'm not
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: gonna give you everything you deserve on Valentine. Sit tight.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: It's gonna take me a minute to range everything because
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: I'm waiting on something else to happen. But I'll be
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: right back. Click gone two hours. She win this Teddy
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: alone on time. You know that I'm up at Sherley
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: room for two hours. I just got here. Lord have message.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: I'm so happy to see you. Let's get it on,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: Marvin Gay, I've been waiting. I know, I'm here, almost over.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: I'm here. I had an emergency. What was the emergency?
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I had a friend of mine that called. He got arrested.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: He got arrested. You know howse football players he is.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: We're always getting in trumble. But what didn't he do though?
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: That a solo battery of a police are No, I'm
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: his best friend trying me leave him, and we're trying
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: to keep this and quit making me talk about it
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: because we're trying to keep this hush hush before the
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: end up on TMZ. Well, baby, if Valentine's Day here,
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: I am plus you the second chick anyway, because you
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: number two coming up a third three this after the hour,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: we'll play around it, would you rather? Right after this
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: you're listening to the Stave Harvey Morning Show. Here's a
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: crazy story. And lots of people get tattoos, right, lots
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: of people get tattoos to mark important occasions in their lives.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: And Gloria, don't I just remember stuff? Yeah, but a
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: lot of people do get tattoos. Gloria Weeberg is one
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: of them. She's from Michigan. She's celebrating an important milestone.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Next month, she will be turning one hundred years old,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: and she's getting a tattoo to celebrate that fact. Gloria
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: may not be the age of the average tattoo shop customer,
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: but this isn't her first visit. She actually got her
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: very first tattooed twenty years ago when she turned eighty.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Then when she turned ninety, she got another tattoo. Now
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: the latest addition to her left arm is to mark
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: one zero zero, one hundred. She now probably for it
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: say New York nineteen twenty two tattoo and for the
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: year in place of her birth, and a goddess representing
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Mother Earth and seven stars representing her children. Three people
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: gotta do her tattoos, though, how so, because you got
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: two people gotta pull her skin on both sides or
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: to lay flat, then the tattoo artists can start. You
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: need two people pulling her skin, stretch it out like
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: an old cloth so it'll be smooth. It's three people
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: to do her tattoos because you got to stretch your skin.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: I'll make it flat first, and then when it's snapped,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: the tattoo don't look like it do like it's gonna
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: say one hundred, but when it's snapped back, it's gonna
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: say ten. A happy upcoming birthday, missus Gloria Wee Bird
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: coming up at thirty three minutes after, we'll play a
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: round it Would you rather right at? I swear to
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: god it is you're listening to Morning show time Now
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: guys for a round of would you rather? Would you
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: rather remember everything you see? Or would you rather remember
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: everything you hear? Maybe here? Okay, so you say, yeah, yea,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: I'll rather remember everything out here because everything you see
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: wasn't wasn't real, no way. But I really remember everything
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: out here because here's hearing this is knowledge seeing this
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: to seven? Okay, all right, okay? Would you rather give
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: up cursing forever forever? Would you rather give cursing forever?
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: Or would you rather give up ice cream for five years? Oh?
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: I give up ice cream for five years because you
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: can't give up cursing about that ice cream? Though, give
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: up cursing forever or ice cream for five years? Yeah,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna give up that ice cream for five years,
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: for five five years as much as you love ice cream? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: you know more. I just It's not that I love cursing,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: It's just I think it's a necessity. I don't know
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: how because there's a lot of ways. Yeah, I keep
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: a lot of stuff off me with that. Plus there's
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: a lot of people that I have in my life
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: that I have to It's like I can't talk to
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: my oldest brother lest we CUsing it's no way me
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: and Turke can have a conversation. Les custom all right,
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: rather would you rather change the outcome of the last
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: election or would you rather get to decide the outcome
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: of the next election? So would you rather change the
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: last one or get to decide the outcome of the
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: upcoming election? Yeah? Um, upcoming? Yeah? Joe Biden and you
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: know so, yeah cool, I should have said the one
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: before that one. Who do I think would make a
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: great new president from the Democratic side? I'm not sure
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: who we have. Yeah, And I don't know if Joe
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: is gonna be capable to run again due to his age,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: but if he's up, if he if he propped up,
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: they're gonna run him again. I think Joe came in
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: just to do for That's what I think. But you know,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: it's amazing, man, that they got Trump out of that though,
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: because usually the incumbent usually wins. Yeah, but they got
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: they got Trump out of there. Um, all right? Would
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: you would you rather be forced to live the same
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: day over and over again for a full year or
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: take three years off the end of your life? Oh?
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: I little Si. We're just gonna keep on doing Monday.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I don't give a damn you guys gonna keep on
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: being shaving no time off yep that I don't know
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: what's fit to happen too. I can turn that into something.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: All right, that's what you're rather for today. Coming up
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: at forty nine minutes after the hour, it's our last
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: break of the day, and we'll have some closing remarks
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: from the one on only Steve Harvey right after this.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: You're listening to show all right, guys, it is our
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: last break of the day on this Tuesday, and Steve,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: it's time for our closing remarks. Hey, here it is
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: today you all. I want to encourage people asual, but
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: I want to remind you of something. You have an
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: opportunity to make a decision that can alter the course
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: of your life. You you have an opportunity to make
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: a decision that can alter the course of your life. Okay, Steve,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: what do you mean by that? I mean this, and
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: this is just a true fact. If you change your
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: thought process, if you change the way you look at things,
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: if you take every negative spin and put a positive
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: spin on it, if you start setting your dreams and goals,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: if you start praying, if you start confiding in God,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: if you form a relationship with your creator, you have
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: done the necessary things. You have made a decision that
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: can alter the course of your life. All you have
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: to do is believe that is so that simple thing
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: is so difficult for the average person to even conceive
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: for themselves. And why is that? I'll tell you why.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: Because the devil is brilliant. Because the devil uses all
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: the tricks to persuade you to think the opposite way.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: His only job is to rob you of your destiny.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: And if he can make you think that what I
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: just said is not possible for you, it is the beginning.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: But let's go back and look at it. If you
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: look at all the success stories of most honest people,
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: they will tell you at some point I believed it,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: I wanted it, and I worked for it. But if
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: you do not have the belief. We can stop right there.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: If you don't believe something it's for you. If you
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: don't believe in something you want or aspire to, we
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: can stop right there. Now. Think about it. Have you
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: given up on the belief system? Have you given up
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: on believing in the things that you used to want
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: for yourself? Because in the delaying of it happening, you
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: perceive the delay as a denial. How many of you
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: are guilty of that. It's have a real moment here now.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: How many of you have ever wanted something really badly
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: and you wanted at a particular time and it didn't happen,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: so you assumed because it was delayed, it was denied.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: How many of you have ever felt that way? I
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: know I have, I know I know the majority of
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: people have. But if that's the way you use your
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: thought process, it proves that what I'm saying is true
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: because the moment you change the way you think, you
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: change everything. Because it's delayed doesn't mean it's denied because
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: you don't believe something to be So it's the very
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: call of the possibility of it happened, And it gets
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: down to the real basis of what faith is. Faith
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: is the belief in things that you cannot see. I
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: don't need a lot of faith to walk to the bathroom.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: I just don't. I just say, man, I got to
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: go to the bathroom, and I get up in a
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: walk over there. It doesn't require faith for me. But
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: if I decide to set up a goal that to
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: gain attention for my foundation or to gain attention to
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: a cause, and I make the announcement on Facebook, Steve
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Harvey is going to walk from Atlanta, Georgia to Cleveland, Ohio,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: a lot of people gonna get cameras out, We're gonna
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: go see this here because you know why, that ain't regular.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: That ain't nothing I've ever done before. They ain't nothing
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: I can see. So that would require faith, wouldn't it
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: would It would require faith for a person to say
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna go survive some in climate
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: clement weather for twenty one days, neck it and afraid
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: or whatever. It requires some measure of faith. But if
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: you watch that show, a lot of people don't make
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: it because what they thought was gonna be easy is
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: never that easy. And then somewhere a line that the
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: majority of people don't make it on that show. But
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: listen to me. Everything starts from the basis of your belief.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: Get back to believing. I believe that twenty twenty two
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: is gonna be the best year of my life. I
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: expect that. I am looking forward, I am watchful for
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: I'm paying close attention to everything I'm saying to God
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: so far in twenty twenty two, because I have claimed
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: a victory for myself in twenty twenty two. If you've
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: not done that, when stuff don't happen your way, who
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: you're mad at you didn't put the belief out there.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: I'm telling you, y'all, why would you not try that?
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Why would you not give that a shot. It's a
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: simple exercise in belief. It's a simple exercise in the
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: law of attraction. It's a simple exercise in faith. But
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: you've got to attempt it. All that donna work, Yo.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something. Somebody really really close to me.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: I've been begging them to come to me and sit
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: down with a vision list because I tell everybody and
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: this person is really close to me, and they've yet
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: to come and sit with me. But they keep wandering
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: around aimlessly in their life, and I watch them time
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: after time after time, thing not go right. Thing not
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: go right. And they keep telling me about it. And
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: all I said to them was come and sit with
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: me with your vision list, your dream board. They still
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: ain't made one. Well maybe if they would start believing
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: that that system works, maybe they could change something. Maybe
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: they're listening today. I hope so, I hope you heard it.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: Those are my closing remarks today. It starts with the belief.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: Y'all get back to believing. Have a great day. Talk
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: to God he loved to hear from me. For all
