Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest. If you were a
- 0:03Speaker 1: fan of Ben Steeller's genre twisting hit workplace show, Severance,
- 0:08Speaker 1: season two is finally here, and it's been more than
- 0:10Speaker 1: a minute in coming from fact season one debut nearly
- 0:12Speaker 1: two years ago, which is an awful long time to
- 0:15Speaker 1: wait for answers to the cliffhanger season one left dangling,
- 0:17Speaker 1: and there are plenty of valid reasons for the delay,
- 0:19Speaker 1: namely last year's Hollywood strikes, but writer Dan Erickson, who
- 0:23Speaker 1: scripted the entire first season himself, tells Deadline the main
- 0:25Speaker 1: snapfoo was the creative complexity of the show, saying, each
- 0:28Speaker 1: character has two lives, essentially two personalities, and we're expanding
- 0:32Speaker 1: on that. For me, the writing was the most painstaking
- 0:35Speaker 1: part in the process because there were so many ways
- 0:37Speaker 1: we could go, and sometimes we'd come up with something
- 0:40Speaker 1: that worked perfectly well on paper, and when we were
- 0:42Speaker 1: shooting it, we'd realize this isn't quite it. We were
- 0:45Speaker 1: never willing to let that turn into something that wasn't perfect.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Severance creator Dan Erickson isn't exaggerating. There there were some
- 0:53Speaker 1: sets and locations they'd already spent production money on that
- 0:56Speaker 1: they scrapped entirely. Season two arrived on Apple TV Plus January.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Seventh Team that's direct from Hollywood,
