- 2:06Speaker 1: She's a budding as they say, budding multi media talent
- 2:09Speaker 1: and enterprises and music, fashion food. You know she just
- 2:13Speaker 1: opened the ben A Box and restaurant in April in
- 2:16Speaker 1: Los Angeles, Studio City. I'm very familiar with Los Angeles.
- 2:20Speaker 1: She's a star in television and film. She was recently
- 2:22Speaker 1: seeing the two other film projects on Netflix, the hit
- 2:25Speaker 1: romantic comedy movie Falling in Love and the musical drama
- 2:29Speaker 1: series Soundtrack. In the new movie Result to Love, Christina
- 2:33Speaker 1: Million plays an inspiring and singer Erica on the journey
- 2:36Speaker 1: to find herself in Paradise. The movie is produces fifteen
- 2:39Speaker 1: tag fifteen time Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter Alicia Keys.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Christina and I have worked many times together on sitcoms
- 2:47Speaker 1: like The w B Sister Sister Steve Harvey Show and
- 2:51Speaker 1: Christina the first leading role in two thousand three with
- 2:54Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Love Don't Cost the Things. I was there,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I saw, So let's catch up as we just got
- 3:00Speaker 1: a new Netflix film, Result to Low and discuss an
- 3:03Speaker 1: enterprising career because he's multi fascinated please working with money
- 3:06Speaker 1: making conversation for the very first time, Christina Willy Young,
- 3:10Speaker 1: how are you doing? That was the best intro. I
- 3:14Speaker 1: was having a good time listening my goodness. Well, first
- 3:17Speaker 1: of all, I'm awesome. How are you? I'm doing great? Uh?
- 3:20Speaker 1: First of all, you look fantastic. And when my wife
- 3:24Speaker 1: and I we saw the movie last night and we
- 3:26Speaker 1: get that out the box straight off, you know, because uh,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you know, romantic comedies and they really to me jumped
- 3:32Speaker 1: off during the pandemic because we were sitting at home
- 3:35Speaker 1: and gotta gottahead a lot of good time. But you
- 3:38Speaker 1: seem to have found a niche. But when you find
- 3:40Speaker 1: these niches in romantic comedies, you always had some beautiful location.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And I think your last one is in New Zealand, right, yes,
- 3:49Speaker 1: my last one was New Zealand. This time, this time around,
- 3:52Speaker 1: I was this beautiful island called Mauritius and it's a
- 3:55Speaker 1: it's the south of Africa. It's an island south of Africa,
- 3:58Speaker 1: and it's one of the most gorgeous, most beautiful places
- 4:01Speaker 1: I've ever been to. Its paradise, well, it came across
- 4:04Speaker 1: its paradise and it really it really impacted what I
- 4:07Speaker 1: felt was your brand. At the very top of the movie.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'm not gonna give away the movie because but where
- 4:14Speaker 1: your career took that backslide was so funny. And but
- 4:18Speaker 1: what I what I've learned and watching your growth as
- 4:21Speaker 1: an actress, you know, it's been that um, you know,
- 4:24Speaker 1: you have to do do things in here. You had
- 4:26Speaker 1: to show your skill as a singer, and you did
- 4:28Speaker 1: an amazing job. And then you have to show different
- 4:31Speaker 1: levels as an actress. You had to show, uh, you know,
- 4:34Speaker 1: a sensitive side, and you have to show a side
- 4:37Speaker 1: of I can do better. I believe I can do better.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I want to do better. And then when you had
- 4:43Speaker 1: to make a turn or make decision about yourself emotionally,
- 4:46Speaker 1: I think where a lot of people get in these relationships.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I've been into these relationships myself, Christina where I want
- 4:52Speaker 1: to move on, but I can't move on, and let's
- 4:56Speaker 1: talk to us about that character. And you get in
- 4:58Speaker 1: your script realizing the these levels that you have to
- 5:01Speaker 1: deal with. In the Netflix movie results of lave Yes, absolutely,
- 5:08Speaker 1: I mean there's definitely the different conflicts that she personally
- 5:11Speaker 1: has to deal with. Um. It's one of the main
- 5:13Speaker 1: things is like a lot of this is all rooted
- 5:15Speaker 1: and it comes from the heart. And I feel like, um,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you know, with my character Erica, you know, one of
- 5:21Speaker 1: the basis is of her characters that she loves music.
- 5:25Speaker 1: She has this passion for music and it's been her
- 5:27Speaker 1: first love since she was a child. She's willing to
- 5:30Speaker 1: sacrifice anything, including her love life, to pursue this music
- 5:34Speaker 1: career with the hopes that it would be successful. I understand.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I've been in her shoes before, and I still understand
- 5:40Speaker 1: to this day. Um, you know, and it's and it
- 5:43Speaker 1: really takes like the right person honestly to actually alter
- 5:47Speaker 1: the direction or how that how that plan and how
- 5:50Speaker 1: that idea actually um plays out. Um. One thing like
- 5:55Speaker 1: obviously I get to sing in the movie. I love that,
- 5:58Speaker 1: But I felt like she was a real person and
- 6:00Speaker 1: a real person in a situation that is so awkward
- 6:03Speaker 1: and so unusual. Not unusual. I feel like these days
- 6:08Speaker 1: we have so many coincidences that happened in our lives.
- 6:11Speaker 1: One because we have social media, we have computers. I
- 6:13Speaker 1: feel like the six degrees of separation have now become
- 6:16Speaker 1: two degrees of separation these days. So it is possible
- 6:19Speaker 1: that you can bump into a whole x from like
- 6:21Speaker 1: twenty years ago that was you know, back then you
- 6:24Speaker 1: thought was the love of your life all the way
- 6:26Speaker 1: in some island or just someplace else, and you're just like,
- 6:30Speaker 1: have this this striking feeling of something different, of the
- 6:34Speaker 1: motion that you might not even expect. Things like that
- 6:37Speaker 1: do happen these days. So UM, I love that she
- 6:41Speaker 1: was a real girl who's faced with the conflict. UM,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and she doesn't she doesn't out the gate say like
- 6:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna face this conflict that I'm gonna go for it,
- 6:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna change this, Like she just actually uses her
- 6:52Speaker 1: optimism and a little bit of hope to say like,
- 6:55Speaker 1: all right, well I gotta do something different. I gotta
- 6:57Speaker 1: I gotta change something in my life so I can
- 6:59Speaker 1: make it better. Um. So you know, or maybe just
- 7:03Speaker 1: like don't have to think about it, and that she's
- 7:05Speaker 1: come running with probably the hardest thing that you know,
- 7:07Speaker 1: she has, that that she that she hasn't dealt with yet.
- 7:11Speaker 1: So UM, I love all the conflict and I love
- 7:14Speaker 1: that you know she's able to overcome through the storyline, um,
- 7:18Speaker 1: as well as the other characters in the in the
- 7:20Speaker 1: movie as well. It's finally here the season of celebration,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and no matter how you celebrate with family and friends,

- 8:49Speaker 1: a guy with his own catchphrase. I appreciate that Smokey's
- 8:52Speaker 1: only said only you can prevent wildfires, but I'm filling
- 8:56Speaker 1: it because there's a lot more to report, like when
- 8:59Speaker 1: they're parched or in the conditions out there. You gotta
- 9:02Speaker 1: be extra careful with things like burning yard wags. After all,
- 9:06Speaker 1: wildfires can start anywhere, even in your neck of the woods.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Go to smokey bear dot com to learn more about
- 9:12Speaker 1: wildfire prevention, brought to you by the U. S. Forest Service,
- 9:15Speaker 1: your state Forrester, and the ad Council. Well you know
- 9:17Speaker 1: there and there are some other fun characters in this
- 9:20Speaker 1: in this movie because it is a comedy, let's put
- 9:23Speaker 1: it in forefront. And I want to drip back to
- 9:26Speaker 1: when I first met you own sister, and you know
- 9:29Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. I was managing Steve Harvey at the time,
- 9:31Speaker 1: and and when we did, you know, love don't cost
- 9:34Speaker 1: the thing was, uh, you know, you had a lot
- 9:36Speaker 1: of questions, you know, because he was really entering. He
- 9:39Speaker 1: was very young, and you still look fantastic now. You
- 9:42Speaker 1: look fantastic now I still look very young, by the way,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and so and so thank you and making that growth
- 9:49Speaker 1: as an actress, because that's what we're talking about now,
- 9:51Speaker 1: because I saw such a natural looking individual on my
- 9:55Speaker 1: screen watching you. When what what point that it became okay,
- 9:59Speaker 1: I can do this, you know because you want to
- 10:01Speaker 1: do it. That's when when you were doing Sisters, the sitcom,
- 10:04Speaker 1: you wanted to do it. At what point you say
- 10:07Speaker 1: I can do this? And then at what point you
- 10:09Speaker 1: say I can make it as a career, And that's
- 10:11Speaker 1: what shows so fantastic on the Netflix will be ready
- 10:14Speaker 1: to result to Love Well. I think when I knew
- 10:19Speaker 1: I could do this is when the opportunity started to
- 10:22Speaker 1: become more relevant for actresses and for women like myself,
- 10:26Speaker 1: especially when most roles and movies were like leading male roles. Um,
- 10:31Speaker 1: when the opportunity came for Love Don't Cost the thing
- 10:34Speaker 1: that was my first lead role I ever had the
- 10:37Speaker 1: opportunity to even have or to become a part of.
- 10:40Speaker 1: It was my first offer for a film I never
- 10:42Speaker 1: it didn't even have to audition for it, which was
- 10:44Speaker 1: a shock for me. I never experienced an offer on
- 10:47Speaker 1: a movie or green lighting a movie as well for
- 10:49Speaker 1: a network like Warner Brothers. Prior to that, I mean,
- 10:53Speaker 1: my career was based off of just hustling so hard
- 10:56Speaker 1: and working and auditioning just to be girl number one.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Or Girl number two and sister sister or uh you
- 11:03Speaker 1: know that, you know girl number four in the Steve
- 11:05Speaker 1: Harvey Show. You know. But I knew at some point
- 11:09Speaker 1: this some way, you know, I was gonna make it.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I just had to work really hard because us as
- 11:14Speaker 1: the people, um, you know, the opportunities were few and
- 11:17Speaker 1: far apart, but I knew it was possible and I
- 11:19Speaker 1: believed in myself. So, um, then when I really knew
- 11:23Speaker 1: I could do this and that I could be a
- 11:26Speaker 1: lead actress, was loved across the thing. When they gave
- 11:28Speaker 1: me that opportunity without even questioning that was like I
- 11:34Speaker 1: was really in shock and awe with the fact that
- 11:36Speaker 1: they gave me this type of opportunity and the fact
- 11:38Speaker 1: that Warner Brothers said, yes, we were greenlighting this film
- 11:42Speaker 1: based off of her persona and who she is and
- 11:44Speaker 1: off of the script. No audition know this, know that.
- 11:47Speaker 1: But we know she's got a good history, she she's
- 11:49Speaker 1: got a good reputation. We know she got followers as
- 11:51Speaker 1: far as like a fan base, and uh, and you know,
- 11:54Speaker 1: would put put it together with a great director, then
- 11:57Speaker 1: you know she'll be all good. And so when I
- 12:01Speaker 1: did that movie and I worked together with Nick Cannon,
- 12:03Speaker 1: and that movie came out and people saw the movie
- 12:06Speaker 1: and they thought how natural my my acting was for
- 12:10Speaker 1: my character and Harres Morrigan and I actually got to
- 12:12Speaker 1: see it all film. You know, it's one of those
- 12:14Speaker 1: things you get nervous, you do it, and then you're like,
- 12:16Speaker 1: when I see this, what am I gonna think? And
- 12:18Speaker 1: I was really proud of my work when I saw
- 12:20Speaker 1: it for the first time, Like I really had a
- 12:21Speaker 1: real whole acting role. It was cool. It was more
- 12:26Speaker 1: than just two lines. Well, it was more than so
- 12:29Speaker 1: it went from that to the whole movie. Well, the
- 12:32Speaker 1: beauty of this conversation that I'm having with Christina is
- 12:34Speaker 1: about a career. A career. There's a that is an
- 12:38Speaker 1: amazing journey because I've been able to watch it. We've
- 12:40Speaker 1: all been able to watch it and then and we
- 12:42Speaker 1: all know that ups and downs, Like you know, your
- 12:44Speaker 1: singing career, you like like in the movie you lost
- 12:47Speaker 1: your deal just a little funny as in the movie,
- 12:50Speaker 1: of course the movie was hysterical, how that that that
- 12:53Speaker 1: singing opportunity went away? But in the in the process
- 12:56Speaker 1: of playing the inspiring singer, you really got to sing
- 13:00Speaker 1: this movie? Oh yeah, I did. I did. I did,
- 13:04Speaker 1: and you know with Alicia Keys being a producer, you know, implementing,
- 13:09Speaker 1: you know those elements of music. There's like six different
- 13:11Speaker 1: songs I sing in the movie. Um was. It was
- 13:14Speaker 1: something that was exciting for me because I got to
- 13:16Speaker 1: get in the studio again and um I had to
- 13:19Speaker 1: show what Erica like has been, you know, working her
- 13:22Speaker 1: butt off for and what what what she what she
- 13:25Speaker 1: does for a living. And so I was really happy
- 13:28Speaker 1: to play her character and play her role because technically
- 13:31Speaker 1: I was fulfilling this void of like I missed being
- 13:33Speaker 1: in the studio and I'm missing not music and people
- 13:35Speaker 1: hearing my songs. So now I get to marry the two,
- 13:39Speaker 1: my acting and my singing together in this movie. And
- 13:41Speaker 1: of course you add some parts of romance and some
- 13:43Speaker 1: comedy and it just all feels good. So uh yeah,
- 13:46Speaker 1: that made me happy. I have to sing in this
- 13:48Speaker 1: There's a monumental shift in power at work. Employees are
- 13:52Speaker 1: speaking up, Turnover is rising, salaries are increasing, hiring is tough,
- 13:58Speaker 1: and burnout is real. It's time to unleash growth. It's
- 14:03Speaker 1: time to transform your HR from powerless to powerful. Join

- 14:56Speaker 1: Mom is coming out the front door, strong with a
- 14:58Speaker 1: double arm kid carry. Looks like Dad has the bags.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Daughter is bringing up the rear. Oh, but the diaper
- 15:04Speaker 1: bag wasn't closed. Diapers and toys are everywhere. But Mom
- 15:10Speaker 1: has just nailed the perfect car seat buckle for the toddler.
- 15:14Speaker 1: And now the eldest daughter, who looks to be about
- 15:17Speaker 1: nine or ten, has secured herself in the booster seat.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Dad zips the bad clothes and they're off, But looks
- 15:24Speaker 1: like Mom doesn't realize her coffee cup is still on
- 15:26Speaker 1: the roof of the car and there it goes. Ah,
- 15:30Speaker 1: that's a shame that mug was a fan favorite. Don't
- 15:33Speaker 1: sweat the small stuff, just nailed the big stuff, like

- 15:49Speaker 1: know the fun part about the movie result to law
- 15:51Speaker 1: that the own Netflix be on Netflix. Dis Mornin stars
- 15:55Speaker 1: a Christine Million, very talented singing entrepreneur, actors who you
- 16:01Speaker 1: know singing. And then this is this is a little
- 16:04Speaker 1: physical comedy in this as well, okay, and then also
- 16:07Speaker 1: just traditional comedy. And it's also a romantic theme and
- 16:12Speaker 1: it's kind of the two romantic things that are happening.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I'm not giving the way of the movie, but there too.
- 16:17Speaker 1: But she plays it all the way to the threw
- 16:19Speaker 1: me off because I didn't know where she was gonna go.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm just let you know, that was some good acting
- 16:23Speaker 1: because I didn't know. She saw My wife and I
- 16:26Speaker 1: saw because we saw what she supposed that when but
- 16:29Speaker 1: she was playing us with a good acting So so
- 16:32Speaker 1: when you get these parallel emotions that you have to
- 16:35Speaker 1: play out, then you have to be this really good singer.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And I'm gonna just tell everybody because she does the
- 16:41Speaker 1: singing so well, it wasn't a denial of her ability
- 16:46Speaker 1: that she was in the location and she was just
- 16:48Speaker 1: like down on her luck and she shouldn't be there
- 16:51Speaker 1: because she was so good at what she did when
- 16:53Speaker 1: she sung in the movie. So talk about that physical comedy,
- 16:57Speaker 1: talk about that parallel emotions, emotional run that you have
- 17:02Speaker 1: in there, and dealing with pulling all this together for
- 17:04Speaker 1: a great movie that you're doing on Netflix. Uh, you know,
- 17:09Speaker 1: I say overall, I think it's you know, I love
- 17:13Speaker 1: to entertain the people, the physical the physical element of comedy.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I love watching others to the physical element of comedy.
- 17:20Speaker 1: A lot of male actors do that. A lot of
- 17:22Speaker 1: classic um like uh Saturday Night Live actresses do that
- 17:27Speaker 1: from like the early beginnings to like you know, there's
- 17:29Speaker 1: there's there's typical rom com and you could just play
- 17:32Speaker 1: it safe and you could just tell a story or
- 17:35Speaker 1: you could have fun doing it. And I love to
- 17:37Speaker 1: laugh my butt off. I want to cry, laugh, laughter, tears.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I want to cry sometimes. I want to experience it
- 17:44Speaker 1: all and if um, if it's sometimes it means going
- 17:47Speaker 1: out of the box and not being afraid to like
- 17:49Speaker 1: alter who you are in your own persona. UM, I
- 17:52Speaker 1: think it's important as an actor to do that. UM
- 17:55Speaker 1: you wanna you want to bring the highs and the
- 17:57Speaker 1: lows um being on? Yeah, absolutely so. The physical element
- 18:02Speaker 1: of comedy I really enjoy doing. And I learned a
- 18:04Speaker 1: lot of that even from my last director, Roger tumble
- 18:07Speaker 1: On Falling in Love, because he was a really fun
- 18:10Speaker 1: director and he really like he showed me. He showed
- 18:12Speaker 1: me a couple of moments by other um, great comedians
- 18:16Speaker 1: to like implement into my last movie. He was like,
- 18:18Speaker 1: check this out, and he's like, do your own thing
- 18:20Speaker 1: to it. But this should inspire you. And since then
- 18:22Speaker 1: I've just been just unafraid and fearless about just being
- 18:27Speaker 1: out of my shell and having fun. And if they like,
- 18:30Speaker 1: if they do, if they don't, then cut it out,
- 18:32Speaker 1: cut it out and I'll do something else. It's fine,
- 18:34Speaker 1: But at least I tried. That's what that was the
- 18:36Speaker 1: thing I wanted to do. UM. And then um, what
- 18:41Speaker 1: was the other questions? She was carrying dual emotions throughout
- 18:45Speaker 1: the movie. They're kind of like, oh, your boy here
- 18:48Speaker 1: because I thought you had missed up the right person.
- 18:52Speaker 1: In fact, it was one moment my wife screamed at
- 18:54Speaker 1: the TV when you thought you was about to do
- 18:56Speaker 1: something with your ex fiance. She said, no, really, you
- 19:01Speaker 1: did a great job to talk about that whole run there.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Because as I'm telling something Christian talking about and just
- 19:08Speaker 1: trying to throw some shine on you because it's a
- 19:10Speaker 1: good interview, I'll just let you know, Wow, girl, you
- 19:14Speaker 1: got it. And it's a blessing to see from two
- 19:17Speaker 1: thousand three and just to sit down in my home
- 19:20Speaker 1: and see you on the screen again leading a movie.
- 19:23Speaker 1: You all the start of this movie, and that cares
- 19:26Speaker 1: a lot of weight. And to see you carry these
- 19:29Speaker 1: lines and bring credibility to it and then throw a
- 19:32Speaker 1: mislead on your boy is a testament to where you
- 19:36Speaker 1: are in your life. That's what I wanted to find out.
- 19:38Speaker 1: How were you able to do that? I want? I
- 19:41Speaker 1: love that it's unpredictable, and I think that's important because
- 19:44Speaker 1: we can watch a lot of romany comedies and know
- 19:46Speaker 1: exactly I watched them sometimes and I'm like, I know
- 19:48Speaker 1: it's gonna happen, This's gonna happen, and that's gonna happen
- 19:50Speaker 1: next blah blah blah. This is the story maybe because
- 19:53Speaker 1: I've done them so many times. To me, because I've
- 19:55Speaker 1: watched them so many times, but I like the the
- 19:58Speaker 1: factor of being un predictable. And in this case, you know,
- 20:02Speaker 1: you've got two brothers, You've also got another woman. There's
- 20:04Speaker 1: a like a quadruple kind of love triangle that's here. Wait,
- 20:09Speaker 1: not a quiete quadruple. It's not even a try angle.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I love quadruple there, you know, something like that. It's
- 20:16Speaker 1: happening between four people that that sounds really kind of crazy,
- 20:21Speaker 1: but most important between her and the two guys that
- 20:24Speaker 1: she's like, she can either go backwards or she can
- 20:26Speaker 1: move forward, but she's still at the end of the day,
- 20:28Speaker 1: needs closure, and I think it's important that she's trying
- 20:31Speaker 1: to figure out what that closure is. Um. Of course
- 20:34Speaker 1: hope hoping not to break a happy home. But maybe
- 20:37Speaker 1: her happy home is with her ex fiance. We don't know, um,
- 20:41Speaker 1: but it's it's that's where she needs to explore and
- 20:44Speaker 1: to find out and sometimes we don't have those answers.
- 20:47Speaker 1: We have to figure it out ourselves. So well, you
- 20:51Speaker 1: don't break too many hearts in the process, and you're
- 20:55Speaker 1: proud that you was able to. Like I said, we
- 20:57Speaker 1: see these movies, you track them out. You know what's
- 20:59Speaker 1: gonna happen. But again, the overall cast was fantastic, good
- 21:03Speaker 1: looking people by the way, you know, except walls and uh.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And so let's talk about this shift gears a little
- 21:11Speaker 1: bit because this is money making conversations. And you know,
- 21:14Speaker 1: you are an entrepreneur. And the pandemic came out last year.
- 21:18Speaker 1: It's still going on right now. I shouldn't say it
- 21:20Speaker 1: came out because we're still dealing with the issues now
- 21:22Speaker 1: of COVID nineteen. And you open a restaurant this year,
- 21:26Speaker 1: Benja Box, now Benja's if you don't know what Ben's.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I'm from Houston, Texas, so very familiar with the Benas.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And then your business partner has Louisiana roots. So talk
- 21:35Speaker 1: about going into the restaurant business and why did you
- 21:39Speaker 1: go in business with this particular partner. Give us some history. Um, So,
- 21:44Speaker 1: my best friend and I we used to live together,
- 21:46Speaker 1: were roommates and she and I both have just very
- 21:50Speaker 1: entrepreneurial kind of attitudes and and just like we love something,
- 21:54Speaker 1: we're very passionate about it. We didn't we we study it,
- 21:57Speaker 1: We know the details of it with strategized every thing
- 22:00Speaker 1: before we actually pursue it and um, and then after that,
- 22:04Speaker 1: it's about the pursuit of making it succeed. So we
- 22:08Speaker 1: watched each other pursue our own little businesses and things
- 22:12Speaker 1: throughout the years. And when we were roommate and we said,
- 22:15Speaker 1: you know, Sunday, we gotta do something together. We need
- 22:17Speaker 1: to create a business the two women. This is. It's
- 22:21Speaker 1: gonna be based on where we live. We live in
- 22:23Speaker 1: Studio City, California. We know friends here, people we we
- 22:26Speaker 1: have to do something, but we know our friends will
- 22:29Speaker 1: become a part of and help us to help it grow.
- 22:33Speaker 1: So we were like, let's do bakery, Let's do this,
- 22:35Speaker 1: let's do that. And one day she had a foundation
- 22:38Speaker 1: in Louisiana where we would rebuild homes from Hurricane Katrina,
- 22:44Speaker 1: and we were out there. We would go get Bignet's
- 22:47Speaker 1: and it was us with all our girlfriends and we're
- 22:49Speaker 1: eating Beignet's. We're going back from more beignats. And then
- 22:52Speaker 1: We're like, hold on, we need to bring Benyar's to
- 22:56Speaker 1: l A. What are we doing? We're tripping? And so
- 22:59Speaker 1: we started to really not only because we love beignets,
- 23:02Speaker 1: we started to figure out what the business of it.
- 23:04Speaker 1: What you know, what the price, you know, what it
- 23:06Speaker 1: costs this that, you know, what what it costs to
- 23:08Speaker 1: actually start up the business. How much you would make
- 23:10Speaker 1: in the end, how much you know, all the money
- 23:12Speaker 1: that goes out? What what helped? Do we want to
- 23:15Speaker 1: be a brand or do we just want to be
- 23:17Speaker 1: one you know, one location. You know, the idea is
- 23:20Speaker 1: to overall become a a large brand. We want to
- 23:25Speaker 1: be um, we want to be posted everywhere, to be
- 23:28Speaker 1: honest with you, And we started it over two years ago. Um.
- 23:32Speaker 1: We started with you know, we got our trademark done,
- 23:34Speaker 1: we figured out our recipe. We launched in l s
- 23:38Speaker 1: U Stadium. We had just big old friar uh you know,
- 23:42Speaker 1: big old pop oil in it and the you know
- 23:45Speaker 1: the gas you know, the little gas thing on the side,
- 23:48Speaker 1: and my friends family was serving it. Two people there
- 23:51Speaker 1: and then we decided to do a food truck. So
- 23:53Speaker 1: we did a food truck to about a year and
- 23:55Speaker 1: a half ago two years ago and since then now
- 23:58Speaker 1: we've opened the store in the studio City, we have
- 24:01Speaker 1: a Kiosk in Glenn, we have another truck that's also
- 24:05Speaker 1: in Louisiana, and that's all happened in two years. So
- 24:08Speaker 1: we feel very fortunate. Um sooner or later we'll be franchising,
- 24:12Speaker 1: but right now we're really just making sure quality control,
- 24:15Speaker 1: that we have the best, um, you know, quality, and
- 24:18Speaker 1: that we're giving our very best before we actually uh
- 24:20Speaker 1: franchise out. Now now you're just doing big or you're
- 24:24Speaker 1: doing sandwiches, you're doing other pastries. Can you stick to
- 24:28Speaker 1: one thing that we're good at. Its powdered benya, powdered
- 24:32Speaker 1: sugar benyon And sometimes it's best to stick to one
- 24:36Speaker 1: thing and be great at it rather than uh than
- 24:39Speaker 1: you know, having your hands and everything. Well that I
- 24:42Speaker 1: love that. I love the whole concept. But the fact
- 24:45Speaker 1: that you like you said, you did like you said
- 24:47Speaker 1: a budget, you got your trademark, you did quality to
- 24:50Speaker 1: control and so that's the business side of you. Is
- 24:54Speaker 1: that eventually going to become a dominant side of your
- 24:56Speaker 1: career or the love of music, the love of acting,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and you is balancing it out of course, being a
- 25:01Speaker 1: family your mall, yeah, you know all that. That's a
- 25:05Speaker 1: huge balance for you all across the board. So where
- 25:08Speaker 1: do we stand now moving forward? From from going forward,
- 25:16Speaker 1: it's pretty much gonna stay about the same. To me,
- 25:18Speaker 1: it's an equal balance. I think my career also helps,
- 25:22Speaker 1: um helps highlight my entrepreneurial side as well as it
- 25:25Speaker 1: goes the other way around. UM, So it's more about
- 25:28Speaker 1: like what else is going to happen from them, even
- 25:32Speaker 1: on the film and the entertainment side. I mean, who knows,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I might direct more, I might produce more and not might.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I know that's the plan and that's what I will
- 25:40Speaker 1: do eventually. But right now my focus is my to
- 25:44Speaker 1: entertain and also to to really grow this brand, and
- 25:47Speaker 1: um it's going very well. And I think, uh, I know,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I don't know myself to stop doing one thing over
- 25:54Speaker 1: the other for sure, especially when it comes to entertainment.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I think I'll always be doing it for my whole life.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Love Calls with They with Steve Harvey to resort to
- 26:02Speaker 1: Love on Netflix. She's a star, She's a beast in
