- 1:25Speaker 1: gotta turn to turn them out, got to turn out
- 1:45Speaker 1: to turn turn the water the water. Come come on
- 1:59Speaker 1: your baby, Uh huh, I sure will I come on

- 2:08Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:12Speaker 1: radio show. Well, okay, here we go. You know what's important,
- 2:20Speaker 1: What's what can be a huge part of your success
- 2:24Speaker 1: is if you if you find a balance, if you
- 2:29Speaker 1: find a balance in your life. That's that's been very
- 2:34Speaker 1: important for me. And I've really never phrased it this
- 2:37Speaker 1: way until now, but I was kind of thinking about
- 2:40Speaker 1: it after my wife and I mean, we set up
- 2:43Speaker 1: one night recently. Man. You know, I often come on
- 2:46Speaker 1: here and this is kind of an inspirational moment of
- 2:48Speaker 1: the show and I try to remind people about that
- 2:52Speaker 1: most important relationship between you and God. And that's that's
- 2:56Speaker 1: the apex of it. That's that's the that's the top
- 2:59Speaker 1: of the crown. You gotta form the relationship with God.
- 3:03Speaker 1: If you don't, everything else struggles. It's hard to be
- 3:06Speaker 1: a good husband without God. It's hard to be a
- 3:08Speaker 1: good family man without God. It's hard to be successful
- 3:11Speaker 1: without God. Man, it's hard to be hard to get
- 3:14Speaker 1: through this thing called life without God. So that's clear.
- 3:18Speaker 1: But at the same time, you can't talk about God.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Twenty four seven. You got to go to work. Come on, man,
- 3:25Speaker 1: let's just be real. I ain't your past and I
- 3:28Speaker 1: ain't at your church, but let's just be real about it.
- 3:31Speaker 1: You know, if people tell you got to keep your
- 3:33Speaker 1: mind stayed on Him and all like that, that's that's
- 3:35Speaker 1: a true statement. Got to keep your mind stayed in
- 3:38Speaker 1: that area. I don't not here to tell you how
- 3:40Speaker 1: to live, but you got to keep your mind stayed
- 3:42Speaker 1: in that area of God, of doing the right thing,
- 3:44Speaker 1: caring about people. That's what I took it as. Now
- 3:47Speaker 1: I could be wrong. I apologize if I'm not saying
- 3:49Speaker 1: that the way you've been taught. I can only do
- 3:52Speaker 1: me now. But after that, you got to go to work.
- 3:56Speaker 1: You got to have some fun. You gotta take care
- 3:58Speaker 1: of your business. And that's the balance you have to find.
- 4:04Speaker 1: So it once you focus on showing up your relationship
- 4:08Speaker 1: with God, you got you gotta balance this now. Now
- 4:13Speaker 1: you got to allocate some time I don't care who
- 4:16Speaker 1: you are, for your family. If you're gonna have a family,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you got to allocate some time for them. See, we
- 4:23Speaker 1: can't just marry these women or make these kids and
- 4:27Speaker 1: then neglect them. And fellas, especially if I'm talking to
- 4:31Speaker 1: me and out him, ladies, you can listen to. But listen.
- 4:34Speaker 1: If you find yourself struggling in your life, man, and
- 4:36Speaker 1: you can't seem to get it together, Let's just go
- 4:39Speaker 1: over a couple of things. The first two things, if
- 4:42Speaker 1: you find yourself struggling, you can't seem to pull it
- 4:44Speaker 1: together and reach your goals and get to where you
- 4:46Speaker 1: want to go. Let's just do a check how is
- 4:51Speaker 1: your relationship with God? And then next how much time
- 4:56Speaker 1: are you taking to allocate for your family? Now, your
- 5:01Speaker 1: family don't always live in your house, but if you
- 5:04Speaker 1: made them, they yours and the responsibility to them is
- 5:09Speaker 1: never lessen because you don't stay that no more. Because
- 5:12Speaker 1: you and the girl broke up, you and the woman
- 5:14Speaker 1: don't speak a man that don't ever release you from
- 5:17Speaker 1: the obligation. Feel me when I'm telling you this now,
- 5:21Speaker 1: because I'm not telling you something I'm wondering about. I've
- 5:24Speaker 1: had to live through them years. So two things you
- 5:28Speaker 1: can start looking at. If you're not where you want
- 5:30Speaker 1: to be, and you ain't, you ain't really solid. You
- 5:32Speaker 1: can't figure out why you keep spending your wills. Have
- 5:35Speaker 1: you just done a random inventory? Man? Have you just
- 5:37Speaker 1: checked on your relationship with God? Have you checked on
- 5:41Speaker 1: the time you're spending dedicated towards your family, your children
- 5:44Speaker 1: that you've created? If them two things is out of
- 5:47Speaker 1: saint man, that I can tell you right now, you
- 5:50Speaker 1: can go on and get to explain in yourself away
- 5:52Speaker 1: just like that. A man, how come you ain't where
- 5:55Speaker 1: you want to be? Couz man, I really ain't. But
- 5:58Speaker 1: if you really ain't, then you really ain't. The third
- 6:01Speaker 1: thing is you got to allocate the necessary time for
- 6:05Speaker 1: your business. You got to handle your business. All of this, man,
- 6:13Speaker 1: is the way it works, and the order the order
- 6:19Speaker 1: is God first, family second. Then you got to handle
- 6:25Speaker 1: all your business. But as me, and this is what
- 6:28Speaker 1: we do. If I don't handle my business, I can't
- 6:31Speaker 1: take care of my family, true statement. But if your
- 6:35Speaker 1: business is in front of your family, you out of order. Nah.
- 6:39Speaker 1: That's all we're talking about, now, ain't it. See that's
- 6:41Speaker 1: that's all we really saying here now, fellas you know,
- 6:44Speaker 1: you know, I mean, I mean, come on, man, you know,
- 6:46Speaker 1: let's let's have a real conversation about being better. You know,
- 6:50Speaker 1: if you have created these children, you got to handle
- 6:52Speaker 1: your business. You may not like the girl no more.
- 6:56Speaker 1: You and the woman might have broken up, y'all might
- 6:58Speaker 1: go your own way, But what that got to do
- 6:59Speaker 1: with the child though? Man, you got to handle your business.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They got to know who daddy is. That's your obligation, man,
- 7:05Speaker 1: And God ain't letting you off the hook for that.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Try it, Go ahead and try it, and thank you.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Gonna get off the hook with that, because you're not man,
- 7:13Speaker 1: You just not. I'm sorry, man, dog Steve, why are
- 7:19Speaker 1: you coming like that? Because I did it like that?
- 7:22Speaker 1: I did it, man. I was over here trying to
- 7:24Speaker 1: reshape my life, getting myself up on my feet when
- 7:27Speaker 1: I was a homeless man and trying to come back. Man,
- 7:29Speaker 1: I thought I had to take care of me first
- 7:31Speaker 1: and then so I can neglect it. Care about them kids. Man,
- 7:35Speaker 1: That ain't high work. Man. God keepers knee on my
- 7:37Speaker 1: neck for a long time for that one right there,
- 7:39Speaker 1: until I finally learned the lesson hold up man, put
- 7:44Speaker 1: these phone calls in, Go spend some time, do something.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And then it started turning around for me. You know,
- 7:50Speaker 1: I can't be there all the time because I am
- 7:52Speaker 1: out here on the ground in the hustle. But at
- 7:54Speaker 1: the same time, Man, some more phone calls, some more letters, smohaha,
- 7:59Speaker 1: he he's something. Then take care of your business man.
- 8:04Speaker 1: You got to work hard to be successful. You know.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Sometimes I don't put that in there. I just live
- 8:09Speaker 1: in and I expect my sons to emulate that. But
- 8:12Speaker 1: I gotta talk to him all the time. How hard
- 8:14Speaker 1: you got to work to be something. It's an all
- 8:18Speaker 1: out of salt on it. Man. If you gotta target
- 8:20Speaker 1: in mind, you gotta go. You gotta wake up every
- 8:22Speaker 1: day trying to get there. And you can't get tired
- 8:25Speaker 1: of it because it's it's it never ends. You're gonna
- 8:31Speaker 1: always be this way. That's how life is designed and
- 8:34Speaker 1: set up. You got to be a hard worker, man.
- 8:37Speaker 1: If you're always looking for some time to chill, and man,
- 8:40Speaker 1: I won'ta go do what I want to do, You
- 8:42Speaker 1: ain't gonna make it. In order to be successful, you
- 8:46Speaker 1: have to do a series of things that you're uncomfortable doing,
- 8:49Speaker 1: and work is the thing that most of us are
- 8:52Speaker 1: uncomfortable doing. It's so much easier to chill, man. I
- 8:56Speaker 1: wish I could kick back with a cigar man all
- 8:58Speaker 1: the time, but I can't. Man, I can't because I
- 9:05Speaker 1: got to work. Then the last piece of the balance
- 9:11Speaker 1: balance piece is you gotta take some time out to
- 9:14Speaker 1: enjoy yourself. But if you ain't where you wanna be,
- 9:18Speaker 1: you ain't got a lot of time to enjoy yourself.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Quit thinking, man, that this balance is even. It's a
- 9:26Speaker 1: whole lot of God, a whole lot of family, a
- 9:29Speaker 1: whole lot of business, and a little bit of chilling.
- 9:32Speaker 1: The chilling can't be equal to the family, the business,
- 9:36Speaker 1: or your God. If the chilling is equal to any
- 9:39Speaker 1: of them, you ain't gonna make it. Quit chilling, man,
- 9:43Speaker 1: and go to work like a man. Do what you
- 9:46Speaker 1: post to do. Work on your family, work on your relationship,
- 9:49Speaker 1: work on your God, work on your business. And then
- 9:52Speaker 1: when you chill, you might not chill is long, but
- 9:54Speaker 1: you show gonna chill bigger, You're gonna ball bigger. Baby,
- 9:57Speaker 1: you're listening. St Morning Show ladies and gentlemen, man, I
- 10:03Speaker 1: have your attention please on this very very blessed Monday morning.

- 12:37Speaker 1: it was, was lost. No, I was ass whipping because
- 12:41Speaker 1: we went home and on Tommy. That's Steph Curry no
- 12:45Speaker 1: points in the first half, thirty three, But Junior, we
- 12:49Speaker 1: was at home. The good thing about being home, y'all
- 12:55Speaker 1: didn't have that fight to go to go to be
- 12:56Speaker 1: Now play the game and just go straight to Jake.

- 14:58Speaker 1: to bring each something. I know you'd be hard. Funny funny.
- 15:05Speaker 1: There's people in the neighborhood that check on my next
- 15:09Speaker 1: door neighbors due. They really do. They really do. Great people.
- 15:13Speaker 1: They are. Mister Mexican name black man. You don't come.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I was your weekend, Steve. Oh well, I work Saturday,
- 15:25Speaker 1: and so I took my wife out to dinner Saturday night,
- 15:28Speaker 1: just me and her. Nights Crustaceans. They've remodeled it and
- 15:37Speaker 1: they got look food and yet very good owner came out.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Chef came out, had a couple of special items for us.
- 15:44Speaker 1: It was nice. And then oh the owner come out
- 15:47Speaker 1: when y'all go in. I ain't never seen no damn owner.
- 15:50Speaker 1: They come out when y'all tell me, you know, always
- 15:54Speaker 1: a compassion. Tell me I haven't been there three times
- 15:58Speaker 1: since they remodel. I ain't seen the owner yet. The
- 16:01Speaker 1: owner come out with you. But Tommy, tell me that
- 16:04Speaker 1: if you don't know the owners, the owner could be
- 16:06Speaker 1: out there. You just don't know. That ain't what the
- 16:09Speaker 1: owner looking like. Then, so since sie, Nope, next time
- 16:13Speaker 1: you don't know a little older Asian lady and she
- 16:16Speaker 1: come out and talk to you. She said, our restaurant,
- 16:19Speaker 1: it's your whole nice to have you back in here.
- 16:24Speaker 1: All that money he's spending there, tell me I just
- 16:27Speaker 1: spend over five thousand dollars. But unless since they've been reminded,
- 16:31Speaker 1: what you gotta do is all you gotta do, Tommy,
- 16:34Speaker 1: tom me just get the private room one time and
- 16:37Speaker 1: have a chef to where the private room. He didn't
- 16:41Speaker 1: know they had a private room. He ain't gonna ask
- 16:43Speaker 1: because he don't want to hear the answer where I
- 16:46Speaker 1: don't even know to hear they got a problem room?
- 16:48Speaker 1: See the reason they don't we read the reason you
- 16:50Speaker 1: don't know they got a problem. If you don't ask
- 16:52Speaker 1: about nothing because you ask, chick be laughing this time.
- 16:56Speaker 1: You just got here. You want to know about noble
- 17:00Speaker 1: room because you don't want to answer about the private rule.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Every restaurant got a private room. You just got to ask.
- 17:06Speaker 1: But see you chief, you don't want the damn answer.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I didn't know they had a private room. You didn't
- 17:13Speaker 1: know that. You ain't never asked. No, I ain't answer that. No,
- 17:17Speaker 1: mouth can't get fed in the private room. That's in
- 17:23Speaker 1: the Bible. And I didn't know it was in the Bible.
- 17:32Speaker 1: That off, it's not in your aura of thinking because
- 17:38Speaker 1: you don't think to ask for extra because you don't
- 17:42Speaker 1: want to pay the extra No, j Well, I didn't
- 17:48Speaker 1: know that. Every time you find out the extra price,
- 17:50Speaker 1: then you got to complain about it. Well, how much
- 17:53Speaker 1: is that? I got to feel guilty? How the extra room?
- 17:58Speaker 1: How much you say you to spend time? Hold? When
- 18:00Speaker 1: you've been there five? Okay, eight times? I'd have spent
- 18:04Speaker 1: by five? Okay? Cool? You can't sit in the private room.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I can't wait. How much it's the private room? How
- 18:15Speaker 1: much have you spent the total times you've been there?
- 18:19Speaker 1: At least five thousand on what I'm telling times, I've gone.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Now with that in mind, you ain't getting any private room.
- 18:28Speaker 1: How much is the private room? It's more than five?
- 18:32Speaker 1: You didn't spent for the ten damn times you'd have
- 18:35Speaker 1: been there with your cheap as man. Private rooms more
- 18:40Speaker 1: than five thousands. You don't hear me? And James, hey man,
- 18:45Speaker 1: the private room is more than five thous Tommy, Tommy,
- 18:49Speaker 1: listen man. See that why I asked about the private room.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Now you see my point. It's not spend well. And
- 19:01Speaker 1: that's why you're not fit to sit in the private room.
- 19:05Speaker 1: See what is in the private room? Private? I don't
- 19:10Speaker 1: like your rich I like that room, table side chairs
- 19:17Speaker 1: and just you and your girl. Can y'all do it
- 19:21Speaker 1: in there? Well? Ask you a question? Well, hold on,
- 19:24Speaker 1: hold on, let me ask you five that hasn't ought
- 19:27Speaker 1: to be able to do it? You need to stay
- 19:30Speaker 1: in there for five thousand dollars? Can I ask you
- 19:34Speaker 1: a question? Go ahead, go ahead, when you go to
- 19:37Speaker 1: the restroom in a public place, don't you want to
- 19:41Speaker 1: do on your toe? Ain't you? I do want to do?
- 19:45Speaker 1: But when you do it in the room you was
- 19:49Speaker 1: in it? Can I do it? You could? But they
- 19:52Speaker 1: could walk in and see you don't tell them? Why
- 19:54Speaker 1: don't you just rent it and find that I'm not
- 19:58Speaker 1: gonna do it over five? And I can't do it, Timmy,
- 20:03Speaker 1: you can do it. You can doing it again, flat screen,
- 20:07Speaker 1: doing it everywhere. But if I'm gonna spend five you idiots,
- 20:19Speaker 1: I can't do it. Come on next, It is Monday,
- 20:22Speaker 1: so you know it that big to five thousand dollars,
- 20:24Speaker 1: you'd be able to do it, but you ain't gonna
- 20:26Speaker 1: spend that, so you know you gotta find another way
- 20:28Speaker 1: to get it done. Church complaints coming up next, with
- 20:32Speaker 1: revenue being a four thousand dollars for purse you got
- 20:36Speaker 1: the money to cheap and Deacon death Jam coming up
- 20:40Speaker 1: right after this You're listening show coming up at the
- 20:45Speaker 1: top of the hour, and entertainment news it is Stevie
- 20:48Speaker 1: Wonders birthday, Love us and Stevie wonder and yes, and
- 20:54Speaker 1: our girl Rihanna is making big moves in fashion. Okay,
- 20:58Speaker 1: we'll tell you about what she's doing going out, but
- 21:00Speaker 1: first it is time for church complaints. Yeah, come on,
- 21:08Speaker 1: we're here on Monday prepared for complaints, knowing full well
- 21:21Speaker 1: what they're gonna complain about. Let me make a couple
- 21:24Speaker 1: announcements or for or this Monday morning, want to say
- 21:29Speaker 1: or so sorry to the Houston Rockets. What's that got
- 21:34Speaker 1: to do? With church complaints. Well, a lot of the
- 21:37Speaker 1: members of our church's Rocket Faith, Yes we are, and
- 21:41Speaker 1: they all right, obviously you is one of them. So
- 21:48Speaker 1: let me just finish what I was gonna say. But
- 21:54Speaker 1: but y'all didn't win, and neither didn't win, and I
- 22:00Speaker 1: would say or to the Philadelphia seventy six is if
- 22:04Speaker 1: y'all don't get Joe l Embid ass under that basket
- 22:10Speaker 1: where that would be an option to either throw it
- 22:13Speaker 1: low or kick it back out. I don't know who
- 22:16Speaker 1: coached this team, but he needed, he needed, he need
- 22:19Speaker 1: to reassignment. I just needn't see that we start bad.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Could Ambid go to the Rockets and would that be
- 22:28Speaker 1: a stronger organization? Y'all don't want to or Golden State.
- 22:33Speaker 1: I don't kill who go there? Or you had your
- 22:37Speaker 1: attitunity CP was healthy or like y'all. I don't like yo, y'all.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Y'all y'all winning skills, so you know I got win.
- 22:49Speaker 1: You don't like my attitude. I don't like y'all the
- 22:51Speaker 1: attitude about winning. Must not care about it that much? Well, well, no,
- 22:56Speaker 1: we don't care about winning, but I don't think we
- 23:00Speaker 1: You had an opportunity has the boy out. Well, what
- 23:06Speaker 1: did Cleveland do? Cleveland wasn't ever gonna be in it
- 23:10Speaker 1: when Lebron went out to the Lakers. Now what talking?
- 23:16Speaker 1: If Cleveland didn't do nothing, I'm talking because you is
- 23:22Speaker 1: or Houston fan and I who not want to discuss
- 23:29Speaker 1: any of it. Well, if you quit talking, it would
- 23:31Speaker 1: have been over. I was just gonna pray for y'all
- 23:34Speaker 1: in the ocean. Or it's the first time you decided
- 23:40Speaker 1: to get somebody some prayer. That's the first time. I'm
- 23:43Speaker 1: not a praying minister. Well what what did that mean?
- 23:47Speaker 1: You're not a fan. I don't have time to pray
- 23:51Speaker 1: because all I handle this damn complaints. Oh okay, so
- 23:56Speaker 1: you won't proud, you won't out this situation? Which one
- 23:59Speaker 1: you want? And here it is again. When I got
- 24:02Speaker 1: ready to pray, what he do? He complained about what
- 24:05Speaker 1: I'm talking about. Houston is on the side. Well, Clean
- 24:11Speaker 1: ain't doing nothing either, But we wouldn't. We didn't lose
- 24:14Speaker 1: the day, do do we? No, you didn't make it.
- 24:18Speaker 1: We wouldn't make it. But you show them I'm hoping
- 24:20Speaker 1: you did, didn't you your answers at the house. Do
- 24:23Speaker 1: you have a church complaint? Church. This is not about
- 24:27Speaker 1: what you know as I want to fight you, I
- 24:36Speaker 1: wish you he got new for you. You ain't gonna
- 24:40Speaker 1: win that either. Due to the Santa Anna wins to
- 24:48Speaker 1: the Lace Front relay race has been canceled. But the
- 24:53Speaker 1: women are asking can they still do it bowheaded? But
- 24:58Speaker 1: it's up to you if if you decided to let
- 25:00Speaker 1: him run ball hit it well due to the center
- 25:03Speaker 1: and the wind that was blowing all in balls out
- 25:05Speaker 1: in baskets in the game that we can't past that.
- 25:11Speaker 1: We're not talking about basketball, all right. Well, I'm just
- 25:14Speaker 1: saying that must have been their excuse too. I don't
- 25:17Speaker 1: kept the ball head women won the race or whatever.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Just run it. You can run it with no hell,
- 25:24Speaker 1: run it with no Let me right that run in
- 25:28Speaker 1: with no one half pastor half okay, that ball headed race?
- 25:37Speaker 1: All right. My next complaint is brother Rashid Ambros has
- 25:49Speaker 1: an eed problem erectile dysfunction. Now he went and got hypnotized.
- 25:56Speaker 1: The problem we're having, Pastor is when he hears the
- 25:59Speaker 1: words all rise, he rises. So the usher this past
- 26:06Speaker 1: suddenly said all rise, and of course he rose. And
- 26:13Speaker 1: we need to fix this because he rises every time
- 26:18Speaker 1: he hears all rides. Well, the Rockets got a RECTI
- 26:24Speaker 1: problem too, because they can't stand up to the damn
- 26:28Speaker 1: Golden State water. Seemed like they just now does that
- 26:36Speaker 1: happen to do with right ross? She dad the rash
- 26:41Speaker 1: on the Rocky team. No, that is not, Pastor. I
- 26:57Speaker 1: have been filing with you and this congregation quite something.

- 27:09Speaker 1: and I have been here. I tell you what, Dick,
- 27:13Speaker 1: you just go to the next complaint. I'm so sorry.
- 27:16Speaker 1: I'm not gonna You're not gonna do it. Well, I'll
- 27:19Speaker 1: tell you what the huge records and who's the Rocket's
- 27:21Speaker 1: not gonna do it? Nah? Nah nah, Now you're gonna
- 27:26Speaker 1: do the complaints. I'm gonna do the complaint. But you
- 27:33Speaker 1: did not I did. You can come on with Just
- 27:35Speaker 1: come on and do them dead Deacon sister, your linder Adam.
- 27:43Speaker 1: It is asking to join I would church, not by
- 27:49Speaker 1: not physically, but she wants to join the church and
- 27:54Speaker 1: by email because she is so busy and do you
- 28:00Speaker 1: want her as a member. But let me ask you
- 28:03Speaker 1: this right here, ain't sissy, you loan the Adam from Houston,
- 28:07Speaker 1: so we're not having another Houston number on this tough church,
- 28:11Speaker 1: because I on this crying when they lose, You're gonna
- 28:14Speaker 1: lose again next year, so called sister yo Adam, and
- 28:17Speaker 1: tell her long sheep for Houston. She can't be your
- 28:20Speaker 1: members a church, because then what we gotta do is
- 28:22Speaker 1: we gotta tape everybody up every time to lose the
- 28:24Speaker 1: damn game and keep loua Lou to Lua lu losing
- 28:28Speaker 1: every year to the same damn team. To all right,

- 33:07Speaker 1: Counsel Robin Mueller has agreed to testify before the Palel
- 33:10Speaker 1: about his team's Russian meddling report. Just when that's going
- 33:12Speaker 1: to happen, though, is not clear. Schiff says on ABC
- 33:16Speaker 1: News this Week Sunday, the quote, the American people have
- 33:18Speaker 1: a right to hear what the man who did the
- 33:20Speaker 1: investigation has to say, and we now know we certainly
- 33:23Speaker 1: can't rely on the Attorney General who misrepresented his conclusions.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Cops in Houston have charged an area man in connection
- 33:32Speaker 1: with the disappearance of a four year old African American girl.
- 33:35Speaker 1: His stepdaughter thought he'd say that. Little Malia Davis has
- 33:38Speaker 1: been missing for a week ever since her stepfather claims
- 33:41Speaker 1: he was taken She was taken by a carjacker. Investigators
- 33:45Speaker 1: say that blood from the stepfather, dari and Vince's apartment
- 33:48Speaker 1: has been linked to Malia, so he's now being charged
- 33:50Speaker 1: or tampering with evidence. Surveillance video shows him carrying a

- 34:26Speaker 1: the case to court, the Civilian Complaint Review Board, has
- 34:29Speaker 1: to prove that Pamphalleo violated departmental rules, but also that
- 34:32Speaker 1: his actions fit for criminal charges. A Staten Island grand
- 34:36Speaker 1: jury refused to indict this guy. However, if he's convicted
- 34:38Speaker 1: in his police departmental trial, he'll either be fired or
- 34:42Speaker 1: lose some vacation. Meanwhile, according to The New York Times, chokeholes,
- 34:47Speaker 1: which police brass in New York claim have been banned,
- 34:49Speaker 1: there still being used by members of the NYPD. The
- 34:51Speaker 1: Time says that records of complaint show that some cops

- 34:56Speaker 1: of the cops accused of using chokeholes have been found
- 34:59Speaker 1: guilty or faced discipline. Sad news tributes are pouring in
- 35:05Speaker 1: for actress Peggy Lipton, who played Julie on the sixties

- 35:15Speaker 1: Peggy Lifton was divorced on Quincy Jones. Their daughters were
- 35:18Speaker 1: Sheida and Kadada, were at her bedside when she passed. Finally,
- 35:21Speaker 1: even though the detective Pikachu made fifty eight million dollars
- 35:25Speaker 1: over the Mother's Day weekend, number one was Avenger's End
- 35:29Speaker 1: Game and for the third weekend in our own even
- 35:32Speaker 1: if there's a small chance we owe this to everyone's
- 35:36Speaker 1: not in this firm to try three will whatever it takes,
- 35:40Speaker 1: whatever it takes, whatever it takes. Well they've got whatever
- 35:45Speaker 1: it takes. End Game made another sixty three mill. Now
- 35:48Speaker 1: back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening show
- 35:53Speaker 1: all right, Steve and Mother's Day trending news. We have
- 35:57Speaker 1: to say congratulations to your beautiful wife, Marjorie Harvey. Marjorie
- 36:02Speaker 1: was honored this past weekend at the Women of Excellence Luncheon,
- 36:06Speaker 1: Yes by the Lady Like Foundation through the Stephen Marjorie
- 36:10Speaker 1: Harvey Foundation. You guys gifted. This is really special, Steve,
- 36:14Speaker 1: and wonderful You guys gifted a young lady to pay
- 36:17Speaker 1: for the rest of her college tuition. Yeah, that's big
- 36:20Speaker 1: right there. Thank you guys, Yeah, thank you guys. You're
- 36:23Speaker 1: gonna pay for the rest of her college tuition. Here's
- 36:26Speaker 1: a moment when Marjorie surprised a young lady with the announcement.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Take a listen. I understand that we unders paying for
- 36:36Speaker 1: one year of your college. I don't know if you're
- 36:39Speaker 1: going for two years, three years, four years, or whatever.
- 36:41Speaker 1: It is. My husband, not you. A lot of people
- 36:55Speaker 1: don't know what that really mean. That's so big. A
- 36:58Speaker 1: lot of people have no idea what that means when
- 37:01Speaker 1: you're getting your tuition pay right man, because you don't know.
- 37:08Speaker 1: I really do, because that's an important that my wife
- 37:11Speaker 1: recognizes that stuff. This young girl was in Falster Care.
- 37:16Speaker 1: She had aged out of Falster Care. She had nowhere
- 37:21Speaker 1: to go. She has a boyfriend. Her boyfriend convinced of
- 37:25Speaker 1: his parents to let her live with him or with them,
- 37:30Speaker 1: and so this parent, these people over in Crenshaw just
- 37:33Speaker 1: took this girl in. So she just had somewhere to live.
- 37:36Speaker 1: She's a sweetheart of a young girl, and her boyfriend's
- 37:39Speaker 1: parents was good enough to let her live that she
- 37:41Speaker 1: had no way of paying for college. So my wife
- 37:43Speaker 1: picked up the other three years. And I thought that
- 37:46Speaker 1: was absolutely fabulous because I didn't know abody till it
- 37:49Speaker 1: was done. And then on my last show of the
- 37:53Speaker 1: season that we taped Thursday, I went to Kent State
- 37:57Speaker 1: and I got seven boys, eight eight boys, eight African
- 38:02Speaker 1: American boys. We're paying for eight African boys full scholarship
- 38:07Speaker 1: rides to Kent State un WHOA. So that's a ton
- 38:11Speaker 1: of nineteens in one week that we'll be sending to college.
- 38:16Speaker 1: And one of our goals is margin. I we don't
- 38:19Speaker 1: speak about it, but our goal is throughout our career,
- 38:23Speaker 1: and we're on our way. I'm not gonna say the
- 38:26Speaker 1: number we're now, but it's up there. We're sending ten
- 38:30Speaker 1: thousand students to college full pay ten thousand. That's how
- 38:36Speaker 1: go out. We're looking at the supply that God has
- 38:41Speaker 1: a God has an endless source of supply, So that's
- 38:46Speaker 1: what we're depending on. How we're gonna do it. We
- 38:48Speaker 1: don't exactly know how, but whenever we get the money
- 38:50Speaker 1: put together like we did nine this week, and we're
- 38:52Speaker 1: gonna do when we can, and we're gonna see it through.
- 38:55Speaker 1: We're gonna make that goal happen before our leaders world.
- 38:57Speaker 1: We're gonna send ten thousand kids to college full page scholarship.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Whoa go ahead, Yes, thank you guys, Thank you guys.

- 39:38Speaker 1: he is, friends, I do this boy right here, come

- 45:10Speaker 1: can get you over at student affairs and come in
- 45:12Speaker 1: and have a meeting with us, but we wanted to
- 45:13Speaker 1: bring it to your attention. Now, you took a one
- 45:17Speaker 1: of your last subjects was English, uh, and you had
- 45:20Speaker 1: an English exam with a You guys are writing an essay.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Am I am? I am? I correct about that? Yeah,
- 45:27Speaker 1: and yeah, that's true. Okay, see that we got some
- 45:30Speaker 1: problems here that the professor there is actually a senior
- 45:33Speaker 1: meeting that you may have cheated on this on this
- 45:37Speaker 1: essay that you've actually written cheated. No, I mean from
- 45:43Speaker 1: from what he's telling us here at Student Affairs is
- 45:45Speaker 1: that you may have plagiarized some things that that we're
- 45:50Speaker 1: in your essay. Dude, No, I didn't. I didn't plagiarize
- 45:53Speaker 1: nothing that was in the essay. Everything is documented like
- 45:55Speaker 1: it should be. So I don't know what you're talking about,
- 45:57Speaker 1: especially cheating on no exam on no paper now like that.
- 46:00Speaker 1: You must got me mixed up with somebody else. No, no, no,
- 46:03Speaker 1: not at all. You're actually mister Travan correct. I mean
- 46:06Speaker 1: that's me. But I didn't cheat on no exam. But
- 46:09Speaker 1: that matter. Okay, Well, let me let me try to
- 46:11Speaker 1: bring you up to speed here at Travan. What we're
- 46:12Speaker 1: gonna need is We're gonna need you to actually come
- 46:15Speaker 1: in and talk to us over here at student affairs
- 46:18Speaker 1: so we can try to get this thing rectified. But
- 46:20Speaker 1: I will let you know, it's gonna take a few
- 46:23Speaker 1: more days longer than graduation. So as of right now,
- 46:26Speaker 1: you're actually not gonna be walking uh and graduating with
- 46:30Speaker 1: the rest of the students. Man, dude, Man, you got
- 46:33Speaker 1: me messed up. What's what you mean? I'm not gonna
- 46:35Speaker 1: be walking well until we get this situation rectified here.
- 46:39Speaker 1: You're not gonna be graduating with the rest of the
- 46:41Speaker 1: students now. Dot. I don't know what y'all gotta do,
- 46:44Speaker 1: but y'all need to figure it out or find out
- 46:46Speaker 1: what the problem. Man, I didn't cheat on no exam
- 46:48Speaker 1: there you're talking about. Dude, My family is coming down
- 46:50Speaker 1: here and you're talking about cheating on an English exam. There,
- 46:53Speaker 1: I look like cheating on an example. And I'm getting
- 46:55Speaker 1: ready to graduate. Man, Now, y'all need to fix it,
- 46:57Speaker 1: like right now, like today while we're on the phone.
- 46:59Speaker 1: We can't do that. It's a little it's a sensitive
- 47:01Speaker 1: subject and like I said, it seems like it's plagiarism.
- 47:04Speaker 1: I mean, you know, if we can get you to
- 47:06Speaker 1: actually come over the student affairs next Wednesday. Man, you man,
- 47:10Speaker 1: you got me? So what you mean next Wednesday? Dude?
- 47:13Speaker 1: I'm graduating in a few days. When you saw about
- 47:15Speaker 1: next wednesday? Man, why don't my professor didn't give me
- 47:18Speaker 1: a call? Why are you calling me sir? This is
- 47:20Speaker 1: not something that professors actually take care of. This is
- 47:23Speaker 1: a student affair situation now, and it's a very sensitive situation.
- 47:27Speaker 1: And what we want to do is try to get
- 47:28Speaker 1: this thing taken care of. And if you if what
- 47:30Speaker 1: you're saying is actually true, then you'll probably graduating AUGUSTA
- 47:36Speaker 1: you got me. I'm telling you writing that this is
- 47:38Speaker 1: a you got me August. I'm graduating. This to me,
- 47:43Speaker 1: to me here too long to go through some my
- 47:45Speaker 1: last few weeks of school, and you talk about August
- 47:52Speaker 1: n you didn't even time to hear what you got
- 47:54Speaker 1: to say. Man, My family is coming down here from
- 47:56Speaker 1: everywhere to see me graduate. Ma, I'm a first fair
- 47:58Speaker 1: graduate from my family. Are you talking about some telling
- 48:01Speaker 1: about my cheat on the paper? A paper due a paper?
- 48:05Speaker 1: Can you come here? Man, i''m gonna work two and
- 48:07Speaker 1: three jobs to see me through this school and now
- 48:10Speaker 1: I'm coming getting rid of graduate? Are you talking about
- 48:12Speaker 1: how to wait until August? A graduate? Man? Hell? Now,
- 48:15Speaker 1: I'm on my way to the office right now, and
- 48:17Speaker 1: you can tell whoever the professor is, that I'm on
- 48:20Speaker 1: my way and he needs to be there too, Sir.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I can really tell you that we can try and
- 48:23Speaker 1: get this thing rectified and earlier the next Wednesday. Man,
- 48:26Speaker 1: what's your name again? And where's where's your office? I'm
- 48:29Speaker 1: in suiting the prayers. I'm Joe. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
- 48:32Speaker 1: So I'm about to get in my car right now
- 48:34Speaker 1: and I'm about to come over there and we're gonna
- 48:36Speaker 1: handle it today. And how are you singing to me?
- 48:39Speaker 1: Cheating on the exam paper? Then? Is that all the
- 48:43Speaker 1: thing is? The professor here? Man? Are you kidding me? Dude?
- 48:48Speaker 1: I've been here five Yes, I'm the first man to
- 48:52Speaker 1: graduate from Callers. Man. My grandmom is eighty two years
- 48:56Speaker 1: old and she coming in here and see me graduate
- 48:59Speaker 1: and you're telling me the somebody seeing on the paper
- 49:01Speaker 1: and I got a way to I'll get a graduates man. Man,
- 49:05Speaker 1: you tell it professor to come to your office right now,
- 49:08Speaker 1: because I'm already in my car. On my way to
- 49:10Speaker 1: come to your office, and we're gonna handing this today. Man,
- 49:13Speaker 1: you got me. I don't have any more room or
- 49:16Speaker 1: my schedule to actually pull anybody in today, or you're
- 49:19Speaker 1: gonna call me with like this something you ain't got
- 49:22Speaker 1: room on your schedule. Man, Hell now, miss missile, whatever
- 49:26Speaker 1: your name is, I'm all my way to your office
- 49:28Speaker 1: right now, and I sad you. I'm gonna tell you,
- 49:31Speaker 1: and I'm telling you up front it's gonna be a problem.
- 49:34Speaker 1: I ain't graduating in a few days. You got to
- 49:36Speaker 1: be with me. You got to deal with my family
- 49:38Speaker 1: and my mama. We're gonna play this thing. I got
- 49:40Speaker 1: a start, sir, I understand. Is there a possibility that
- 49:44Speaker 1: maybe you plagiarized and didn't know that you did that? Man?
- 49:48Speaker 1: You mean the paper was Officer and I already knew, sir?
- 49:51Speaker 1: Can I can? I can? I tell you one more
- 49:53Speaker 1: thing and then and then all that you can't say
- 49:55Speaker 1: you're not ready to call me with somebody. I can't
- 49:57Speaker 1: graduate with my class after I hadn't been this for
- 49:59Speaker 1: five yep, and you're telling me I can't graduate until August.
- 50:04Speaker 1: You ain't got to tell me. I do have one
- 50:07Speaker 1: more thing I need to tell you, and then I'll
- 50:09Speaker 1: let you be on your way. Okay, man, go ahead,
- 50:12Speaker 1: Can I tell you what I want to tell you?
- 50:14Speaker 1: New go ahead. I'm telling you this. It was nephew
- 50:16Speaker 1: Tommy from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You just got
- 50:20Speaker 1: prink phone called by your best Frian, Brian. What hello? Man?
- 50:35Speaker 1: Do somebody gonna playing jokes like that? Dude? Man? Do
- 50:39Speaker 1: you know how hard I get out five years years? Man?
- 50:45Speaker 1: I'm you are the first black male in your family
- 50:49Speaker 1: to graduate from college. You're doing a big boy man.
- 50:53Speaker 1: I know. Man, it's been a journey. Bros A. I
- 50:56Speaker 1: got one more thing. Ask your baby, what is what
- 50:59Speaker 1: is the baddest that? I mean, the baddest radio show
- 51:02Speaker 1: in the land? Man? As that Steve Harvey Morning. Was
- 51:08Speaker 1: I wrong for that? Yes? No? No, not ready. Anybody
- 51:12Speaker 1: feel like I crossed the line? Ain't crossed dead? You
- 51:16Speaker 1: always do. Get home? It hit home, you know. I
- 51:19Speaker 1: don't care nothing about him, the first one graduate. Ain't
- 51:22Speaker 1: need him his grandmama coming. I can't remembo. I don't
- 51:25Speaker 1: care nobody. I got a look pass. Why would you?
- 51:29Speaker 1: Thank you? Thank you? You never let nothing get in
- 51:33Speaker 1: the weight of the break. You not graduate. I don't
- 51:37Speaker 1: came about your grandmama coming out and into the school.
- 51:39Speaker 1: You ain't your ass, saint. Yeah, take his ass to
- 51:42Speaker 1: the private room because he ain't gonna graduate. That man,

- 52:29Speaker 1: get rid of his hood mentality. We'll get into it
- 52:32Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Time now for today's Strawberry Letter, and listen. If you
- 52:39Speaker 1: need advice and relationships, dating, work, sex, parenting, and more,
- 52:43Speaker 1: please please submit your Strawberry letter to Steve HARVEYFM dot
- 52:47Speaker 1: com and click submit strawberry letter. Okay, we could be
- 52:51Speaker 1: reading your letter live on the air, just like we're
- 52:53Speaker 1: going to read this one right here, right now today.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Buckle up and hold on tight. We got it for
- 52:58Speaker 1: you here. It is these straw very lenin. Thank you,
- 53:03Speaker 1: ev subject he can't get rid of his hood mentality
- 53:07Speaker 1: Here Stephen Shirley, I'm a twenty eight year old married
- 53:10Speaker 1: woman and my husband just turned thirty. We have a
- 53:13Speaker 1: great marriage, but I need you to help me settle
- 53:16Speaker 1: an argument. We are both black, but we come from
- 53:19Speaker 1: very different backgrounds. He was raised in a poor urban
- 53:23Speaker 1: area that was predominantly black. I was raised in a
- 53:26Speaker 1: middle class suburb that was very racially diverse. I often
- 53:30Speaker 1: have to tell him that certain things like wearing a
- 53:32Speaker 1: dow rag outside the house or blasting loud rap music
- 53:36Speaker 1: is not acceptable at his age and in the community
- 53:39Speaker 1: we live in. Now, we just found out that I'm
- 53:42Speaker 1: pregnant with twins, and we are having a boy and
- 53:45Speaker 1: a girl. We've started planning for the two babies, and
- 53:48Speaker 1: we've been discussing baby names. All of the names that
- 53:51Speaker 1: he has suggested our stereotypical ghetto names, and I won't
- 53:56Speaker 1: give you an example because I don't want to offend
- 53:59Speaker 1: anyone that is listening. There have been numerous studies on
- 54:03Speaker 1: black children with these made up names. These kids constantly
- 54:07Speaker 1: have to correct people on the pronunciation and spelling of
- 54:09Speaker 1: their names, and they are often ridiculed and passed over
- 54:13Speaker 1: for jobs later on. I think it is ignorance on
- 54:16Speaker 1: the parents part to do that to a child. I
- 54:18Speaker 1: will not do it to my twins. My husband's argument
- 54:22Speaker 1: is that the names he chose represent the black culture,
- 54:25Speaker 1: and our children will be proud of their names when
- 54:28Speaker 1: they are old enough to understand their culture and heritage.
- 54:32Speaker 1: No one in my family has a ghetto name, and
- 54:35Speaker 1: it won't start now. I love this man, but he
- 54:38Speaker 1: can't separate stereotypes from real life, and he can adapt
- 54:42Speaker 1: to a different lifestyle. How can I explain to him
- 54:45Speaker 1: that I want our kids to have every advantage and
- 54:48Speaker 1: not ever be made to feel different. What are your thoughts?
- 54:52Speaker 1: Please help us? While you guys are very different, I'm
- 54:56Speaker 1: surprised you were able to come together and get married
- 54:59Speaker 1: and you got a know that you can't change anyone.
- 55:01Speaker 1: You guys are married now and you're still trying to
- 55:03Speaker 1: change your husband. I don't understand why you're trying to
- 55:07Speaker 1: do that, because how's that working for you? It doesn't
- 55:10Speaker 1: sound like it's going too well. But I am with
- 55:12Speaker 1: you one hundred percent as far as um you know
- 55:16Speaker 1: what you're talking about the culture and all of that,
- 55:18Speaker 1: and studies have shown that, you know, kids with certain
- 55:22Speaker 1: names are held can be held back. Unfortunately, you know
- 55:27Speaker 1: that is true. Certain names do hold us back and
- 55:30Speaker 1: all of that. As far as the culture goes, there
- 55:33Speaker 1: are many ways for your children to learn it. You
- 55:35Speaker 1: can teach them their history and their heritage. Books always
- 55:38Speaker 1: a go to the internet, museums, movies, all of that.
- 55:41Speaker 1: You can teach them about President Obama. There's plenty of
- 55:44Speaker 1: time for them to learn their heritage and learn about
- 55:47Speaker 1: their history, just like we had to. Uh. You know,
- 55:50Speaker 1: there's going to be many many ways to bring cultural
- 55:53Speaker 1: awareness to your kids. We're sitting queath them. The cultural
- 55:58Speaker 1: differences between you and your husband, though, to me, that's
- 56:01Speaker 1: a much bigger thing, and it might take some counseling
- 56:05Speaker 1: to work that out. Because he is who he is
- 56:09Speaker 1: and you are who you are, and you guys married
- 56:11Speaker 1: each other, you know, and I say this, you might
- 56:14Speaker 1: need counseling because the twins are coming and you both
- 56:18Speaker 1: want to be good role models for them. You with
- 56:20Speaker 1: your middle class background, your husband with this inner city upbringing.
- 56:23Speaker 1: You know there's value in both. No one is not
- 56:27Speaker 1: better than the other one. You both bring unique experiences.
- 56:30Speaker 1: You guys are going to have to come together. I mean, yeah,
- 56:33Speaker 1: with the do rags in public and the loud music. Yeah,
- 56:36Speaker 1: he definitely cantone that down. But you guys, these arguments
- 56:41Speaker 1: and things like that, you're gonna have to figure out
- 56:43Speaker 1: a way to work it out or else you're gonna
- 56:46Speaker 1: bring these twins into a major problem here in your marriage. Steve, Well,
- 56:53Speaker 1: this is going to be interesting because this is right
- 56:56Speaker 1: up my alley. Oh, my wife and I suffer from
- 57:01Speaker 1: the same problem. So this is very good. Up. Mardree
- 57:07Speaker 1: is a lot more polished and diverse than I am. I,
- 57:11Speaker 1: on the other hand, am immersed deeply into my cultural blackness.
- 57:18Speaker 1: First of all, in your letter you said we have
- 57:21Speaker 1: a great manage, were soo do Mardred, But we come
- 57:24Speaker 1: from very different backgrounds. Well, not necessarily, but I grew
- 57:29Speaker 1: up urban, predominantly black. She grew up too, but she
- 57:33Speaker 1: acted mit a class suburb I often have to tell
- 57:39Speaker 1: him certain things like where to do rag outside of
- 57:41Speaker 1: the house of blasts a love learning. Well, let let's
- 57:43Speaker 1: just go back here. She said, we are both black.
- 57:46Speaker 1: You need to make a correction. Both of y'all black.
- 57:50Speaker 1: He just black up. See not in you can't. This
- 57:56Speaker 1: is a gift, lady, This is a get. There are
- 58:01Speaker 1: times when the fact that he is blacker can come
- 58:05Speaker 1: into play. That's right. Oh, you need blacker people in
- 58:13Speaker 1: certain situations. All right, all right, there are times when
- 58:20Speaker 1: the black knob got to get turned up. The situation.
- 58:25Speaker 1: Sister Shirley. Let me just go watch this. See Sister
- 58:28Speaker 1: Shirley's bullshie. Give me any situation and just say something
- 58:33Speaker 1: you do. Just name me something you do, and I'll
- 58:36Speaker 1: show you how to turn it up. Anything I do,
- 58:39Speaker 1: anything you do. Uh, I put my get up, shower,
- 58:44Speaker 1: put my clothes on, put my makeup on, and go
- 58:48Speaker 1: to work work. That's not now. We got to hear up.
- 58:52Speaker 1: We got to roll up out of hill. See sometimes
- 58:57Speaker 1: we got to roll up out of hill. Hey, give
- 59:02Speaker 1: me something else. I go to the store. I want
- 59:06Speaker 1: to buy something. I pull my credit card out and
- 59:09Speaker 1: pay for it. We're gonna go down here and get
- 59:12Speaker 1: what we can get, and we're gonna leave the rest
- 59:14Speaker 1: of it down. Now. We'll be back with part two
- 59:18Speaker 1: of Steve response right after this Today's Strawberry letter. The
- 59:23Speaker 1: subject is he can't get rid of his hood mentality?
- 59:26Speaker 1: Coming up right after this. You're listening to show, all right, Steve,
- 59:32Speaker 1: Let's recap today's Strawberry letter, the subject he can't get
- 59:36Speaker 1: rid of his hood mentality. We've got a woman who's
- 59:41Speaker 1: gonna mess her marriage here because she can't get next
- 59:46Speaker 1: to her husband's hood ways. But you married him with
- 59:51Speaker 1: these hoods. That's one of the things that drew you
- 59:54Speaker 1: to him. His strength, his stamina, his ability to handle
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: critical situations, the toughness that's made from everybody living. You see,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: we understand that. Well, now let's get into the second
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: half of this letter. We need to go over some
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: black names. Now, let's go. I've asked y'all to send
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: me some if you would look at your phones, But
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: obviously y'all don't want to help out, so I just start.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: We'll just read your texas and get them to me
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: as I begin. Now. Now, these twins a boy and
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: a girl, Shida and Taquita. Now I know that you
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: don't want this board name Taquia, but Taquito is a
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: good name simply cause it rhyme with schiquita, you see,
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: and that's probably what his thinking is. Now you got
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Darkisha is the girl and Tai Kuan is the boy.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Now Tai Kuan, we need that name because somebody gonna
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: misspelling and they're gonna get asked with everybody that or
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: teach you to learn how to take time, learn the
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: black names to quill to this Tai Kuan. See. Yeah,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: then you can go like like we like cause its
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: names like the girl named Mercedes and the boy named
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: chevn Wow. See Chevy heavy Chevin Chevy gets your asked
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: for you understand. Then you got you got Lucresia m
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: h and Trevante. Yeah yeah, Lucresha and Trevante. Trevante is
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: a member of a singing group in the Tramps. See,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: you need stuff like that. And so I'm just telling you,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: see so you can have like Charles Letter and Charles okay,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: now Charles that see that on the hood what that
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: on hooded it you got? Then you can go with
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: stuff like oh you can go John Minnel, God what
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: John Minnell John Minnell because we had a lot of
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: John that's a girl, that's John Mennell. We had a
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: lot of names in the John wet. It was many
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: of men that we just pulled out one. So we're
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: gonna name her John Minnel, John Minnell. What's his name?
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Boosy like the player? Yeah, yeah, you know. Then you
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: got a Quinella because she I want her to grow
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: up to be a swimmer, Aquinella and TrackMan. Yeah, she
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: gonna swim and he gonna be a track star. Yeah.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: All we can just go straight old schoolhood and be
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Stella and lero that damned slavery. That's all right. Don't
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: nobody want to be called Stella nomo, But that's what
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: you're gonna be going. Oh, Or we can go h
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: real old schooling Harriet for the girl and Orenthal for
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: the boys, or old j Yeah, but we just gonna
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: call him or Inhalt. You ain't got to bring up

- 1:06:59Speaker 1: mikey Man. Yeah, man, they got a strong team in Milwaker.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: They really do man, they bad man. They want over
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: sixty games this year and in this final, go ahead up.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: I want to everybody pick though, but I just want
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: to know you got Milwaukee or Toronto. Which how you gonna.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: I'm going with Milwaukee, man, Okay, there, man, I'm going
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: I'm going with Milwaukee because I don't see see he
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: gets down in the paint, unlike Joel Lamb. He ain't
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: gonna be out there just mad threes. He going to
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: the rack. Oh. I know it was hard for Joel
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: and B to lose that game, but going that locker
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: room and getting that dough behind the dough for you.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: I don't understand. I gotta stand that he was heartbroken.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: But they ain't got nobody to blame but theirself. Their
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: last three possessions was really man and I agree with
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: the T and T its worst three worst possessions. I've
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: ever seen two shot clock violations and then out on
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: a time out, a shot clock violation because they don't
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: know how to run a at play because everybody out
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: at the three point line. Toronto went out there and
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: covered everybody and gotten in passing ling and they ain't
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: even have an option down low. Just dumbest basketball I've
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: ever seen. I want to measge this on in the West,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: do you do? You just just give me how many
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: games it's gonna go between Portland and Golden State. They're
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: gonna go seven seven, Yeah, especially if especially if if
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: if Durant don't get back in there Portland. Portland got
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: a hell of a squad to defend. Boy, yeah they
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: do man, Portland Mike beat Golden State. Show really it is.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: That's the sports update, right this shirt? All right, thank
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: you junior. All right, we'll see coming up at the
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: top of the hour. And trending social Media News Steve
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Harvey's son Broderick talks about his relationship with his dad. Steve.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: I can't wait for that. We'll be back right after this.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: You're listening, okay, Stephen Trending news. Mother's Day was this
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: past weekend, and Father's Day it's coming up next month.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: You know, well, your son, Broderick. We love Broderick. He'll
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: be a special guest on your talk show. And he
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: talked about his relationship with you, Steve. Take a listen.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I didn't really have my dad full time into my
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: life until I was sixteen. Right then, we're moving to Atlanta,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: and they said, hey, Broderick, we want you to move
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: with us because we really want to bring his family together.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Now my mind, I've been living in Cleveland my whole life.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I've been living with my mom. It's been me and
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: my mom. That's it. In the back of my mind,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: I'm like, no, it's going to hurt my mom. But
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: at sixteen, I knew that's what I needed as a man. Wow,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: d Yeah, are you feeling here that? I mean, you know,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: it's the truth. You know, people don't no, you know, man,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: Like we talk about it all the time, all of
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: our children our products of divorce, all of them. None
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: of our kids have not lived through voice and separation,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: none of them. And so it's been challenging for us
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: to blend our family and to make them feel at
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: home and what love is really like. And we've done
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: a good job of that getting it done. It has
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: not been without challenges, though. Please understand that it has
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: not been without challenging. It has been tough at times
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: because you know, of course, from time to time, they
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: want things the way they want it, and that oftentimes
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: can't be the case. And so my son and I
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: have had many talks. I think one of the moments
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: in the show that you will see is when my
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: son admitted to me years ago, Dad, I understand why
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: you left. I do, because you could not have been
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: who you are had you stayed. And because you left,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: you don't just belong to me. You belong to a
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: lot of people. You a lot of people's uncle, that,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: a lot of people's father out there, and that was
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: your calling in life. And I've come to understand that
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: I love and respect that man. My son works for
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: me and with me, you know, so yeah, yeah, I
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: mean it took some time, you know, he told me
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: that we were on vacation in Africa one time, sitting
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: up looking at the end the furthest point of the
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: furthest southern part of the hemisphere of the world. We
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: were looking at the last piece of land before it's
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: just nothing but ocean for it goes around the curvage
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: and starts back north. And he said, Dad, I get it, man,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: I get why you left. This was a long time ago,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: you know, And so that that meant a lot to me. Know,
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: we had a lot of moments to get to the
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: relationship that we have. I have a show with all
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: men on it tomorrow and talking about manhood and what
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: it is, and there's so many men on the show
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: that that didn't have their fathers in their life. Heario,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: you know, huh, I was off and on in my
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: son's like up two with sixteen is actually a little
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: younger than that fourteen. But you know that was that
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: was it, man, And you know, it took us some time.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: It took me some time to get him, but I
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: finally got him, and you know it worked out. You know,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: he's a fine young dude now. So that's cool, Steve,
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: and he is he really is, he really Yeah, he's
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: a fine young man. He really is not right a
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: man become you know. Yeah, well it worked out, you know,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: I can't get him to settle his ass down, but
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: but it goes to right, and it goes to show
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: you that no matter how things start off, you know,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: they don't they don't. They may not look good starting
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: off when they first start off, when they finish, you know,
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: that's that's what matters. How you run up, you know
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: how you are now, it's not where you're gonna be right, right,
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: and you just gotta hang in out because you don't
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: know how to chap is going to play out in you.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: That's right, that's right, that's right. So don't judge. I
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: think you know the journey. I think you know, you
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: don't know what people keeping itself, that's right. And everybody
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: has a story too, you know. Yep. But um, that
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: was good, Steve. I enjoyed hearing your son. That was
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: interesting very much. So yeah, all right, we'll be back
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: with more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.

- 1:15:18Speaker 1: to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve and Mother's
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Day trending news. We have to say congratulations to your
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: beautiful wife, Marjorie Harvey. Marjorie was honored this past weekend
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: at the Women of Excellence Luncheon, Yes by the Lady
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Like Foundation through the Stephen Marjorie Harvey Foundation. You guys
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: gifted This is really special, Steve and wonderful. You guys
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: gifted a young lady to pay for the rest of
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: her college tuition. Yeah, that's big right there. Thank you guys. Yeah,
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: thank you guys. You're gonna pay for the rest of
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: her college tuition. Here's a moment when Marjorie surprised a
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: young lady with the announcement. Take a listen. I honestly
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: that we are just paying for one year of your college.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: I don't know if you're going for two years, three years,
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: four years, or whatever it is. You A lot of
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: people don't know what that really means. That a lot
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: of people have no idea what that means when you're
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: getting your tuition pay right man, because you don't know.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: I really do, because that's an important uh that my
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: wife recognizes that stuff. This young girl was in foster care.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: She had aged out of falster care. She had nowhere
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: to go. She has a boyfriend. Her boyfriend convinced of
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: his parents to let her live with him, well with them,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: and so this parent, these people over in Crenshaw just
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: took the girl in. So she just had somewhere to live.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: She's a sweetheart of a young girl, and her boyfriend's
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: parents was good enough to let her live that she
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: had no way of paying for college. Who my wife
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: picked up the other three years And I thought that
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: was absolutely fabulous because I didn't know about it till
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: it was done. And then on my last show of
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: the season that we taped Thursday, I went to Kent
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: State and I got seven boys, eight eight boys, eight
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: African American boys. We're paying for eight African boys full
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: scholarship rides to Kent State Union. WHOA. So that's a
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: ton of nineteens in one week that we'll be sending
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: to college. And one of our goals is margin and
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: I we don't speak about it, but our goal is
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: throughout our career and we're on our way. I'm not
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: gonna say the number we're now, but it's up there.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: We're sending ten thousand students to college full pay, ten thousand.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: That's how I go out. That's big. Wow. We're looking
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: at the supply that God had AMENI an endless source
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: of supply. So that's what we're depending on. How we're
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: gonna do it, we don't exactly know how, but whenever
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: we get the money put together like we did nine
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: this week, and we're gonna do when we can, and
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: we're gonna see it through. We're gonna make that goal
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: happen before our leaders world. We're gonna send ten thousand
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: kids to college full page scholarship. WHOA alright, yes, thank
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: you guys, Thank you guys. All right, well listen coming
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: up next, JA Anthony Brown is here. He's going to
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: murder another hit right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: here we are last break of the day and time
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: for your closing remarks. Now, all right, um, you know
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: what man on my last talk show, we recorded it.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I may release of it earlier because it was such
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: a powerful show. The two things I wanted to accomplish
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: on my last show was I wanted to be inspirational
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: and motivational. So I had Bishop TD Jakes as my guest,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: and I wanted to do something uplifting and soul. We
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: gave away to eight scholarships to the eight African American boys,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: four year full ride scholarships to the very same school
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: that I floaked out of. It was a great accomplishment
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: to do that. But Bishop Jakes was my guest and
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: he was promoting his book called Crushing, Crushing God Turns
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Pressure into Power, and Bishop Jakes taught me something man,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: and I just want to share. I'm paraphrasing what he said.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: He said a lot more eloquently than I could ever said.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: You know, he's one of the most He's one of
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: the best speakers, the best motivational speaker I've ever met
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: in my entire life. I've never ever met a man
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: more motivating than him. Now he's a preacher for show,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: but I want you to understand that he gives you
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: real life lessons that can really really help you out.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: And his book Crushing, How God Turns Pressure into power,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: and he was reminding us that under when you're being crushed,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: it's because God is using you like a grape. You know,
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: we are all grapes. Grapes are the only fruit that
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: is grown to be crushed, and grapes are grown to
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: be crushed because grapes are that are not crushed, they
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: the fruit. They just simply grapes. I know a lot
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: of I don't know, nobody don't like grapes. But when
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: grapes are crushed, they become wine. And just because you've
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: been crushed doesn't mean your life is old. When you've
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: been crushed, it means that you're being turned into something
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: and that all of your crushings can take you to
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: a greater place, because grapes are designed to become wine,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: and wine gets better with time. See, when you get crushed,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: it don't mean your life is over. It means you
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: now have a chance to become wine. Man, it's such
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: a powerful message if you understand what he's saying, because
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: one of the things he was saying and says it
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: in such a great way, he says, in every painful
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: moment in your life, when the pain goes away, pain
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: always leaves a gift, a present. It's on the table,
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: it's right in front of you. Whenever the pain goes away,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: it leaves a present for you, a little box with
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: a ribbon on it, and all you got to do
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: is open it. And it's kind of like what I
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: used to side saying, behind every moment of adversity there's
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: a lesson and a blessing. Or Bishop put it better,
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: he said, every time you go through pain, pain always
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: leaves you a present, a gift, and it's something for
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: you to open and unlock. Sometimes the gift that you
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: receive as you are now after this pain, more experienced.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Sometimes pain leaves behind a gift of strength. You are
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: now stronger. Sometime pain leaves a gift of you are
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: now free. You know that break up that seems so
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: hurting at the time, that divorce that seems so debilitating
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: and crushing at the time, and you look at all
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: that time you put into that relationship and it's over.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: Or guess what, You're now free. You're now free to
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: go find a relationship that's really meant for you. That
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: person you thought you'd spend the rest of your life
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: with it to turn out to dog you and cry,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: shoot well, now you're free. You ain't got to feel
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: that no more. Every time you get crushed, every time
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: you finish your pain, it leaves a gift for you,
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: a lesson and a blessing. The lesson is, now you
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: know not to do that no more. Now you become
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: more knowledgeable, more experienced. So the next time you see that,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: you know how to handle it a little bit better.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: But there's also a blessing in it too. Now you
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: get free to go do something else. When they close
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: a chapter in your life, it's time to turn the page.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: If they close the door, God ain't never close the
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: door without having another door for you to go through.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: But you got to look for the present after the pain.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: Stop taking your pain and wearing it all the way
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: out like it's just final, because it ain't. Man Like
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: I said the other day, of all the bad days
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: you've ever had, on all the crushing time you've ever had,
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: your track record for surviving all previous crushings is one
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: hundred percent. And that's pretty good. So Bishop Jake's book
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: is called Crushing. I got it on my desk right now.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: I got my wife a copy. My wife was there
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: that last show. She says, Steve, please get me one
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: of those books. And so I sent out and I got.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: I bought four of the books, and I gave one
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: to my wife for Mother's Day. I just put it
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: on her vanity, and I got one on my desk.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: And I recommend everybody to get this book, man, because
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: God does turn pressure into power. Every time you get crushed,
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: it's an opportunity to become wine finer, more flavorful, more robust,
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: a cabinet. You get to be something now, but you
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: can't be it until you've been crushed. Crushing ain't a
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: bad thing. You ain't a grape no more. You get
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: to go be wine. Wine is expensive wine, and the
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: older it's the bet it is. I mean, man, come on, wow,
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: I know I'm better than I used to be. Ain't
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: y'all better than you used to be? Thank God for
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: the crushing. That's my remarks today. Quit tripping because you're
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: being crushed. You're about to become wine man. Hey God
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: you serve he bad boy. Yeah, y'all have a good
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: week dropping. It's dropped, dropping like a being hot. Crush
