- 0:02Speaker 1: my next guest is an international speaker and Bible teacher.
- 0:07Speaker 1: New York Times bestselling author and actress with credits including
- 0:10Speaker 1: the movie war Room, which was the number one movie
- 0:13Speaker 1: in America in the second in his second weekend in theaters,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and Smash Hit I can only imagine. Please welcome to
- 0:20Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations. One of the stars of the new
- 0:23Speaker 1: faith based movie Overcome Er, Miss Priscilla Shira. Hey, Hey,
- 0:29Speaker 1: how are you. I'm doing great? Thank you for coming
- 0:32Speaker 1: on my show, Money Making Conversations. I had your brother
- 0:35Speaker 1: Anthony on my show and he is and he's special.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I loved him to death, you know. And uh he
- 0:40Speaker 1: talked to he's a foodie like me. I just want
- 0:43Speaker 1: to get the food out the way first, okay. And
- 0:46Speaker 1: you know he talked about he come down your Dallas.
- 0:49Speaker 1: You're from Dallas. I'm from Houston, Texas. Yes, what is
- 0:53Speaker 1: just what is your favorite food and what is your
- 0:55Speaker 1: favorite food restaurant? Well, I have to say that my
- 0:59Speaker 1: mother there in law and my mother's cooking is my
- 1:02Speaker 1: favorite food on the planet. To be honest, Okay, okay,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I would take their fried chicken and macaroni and cheese
- 1:08Speaker 1: any day of the week. Um. But after that, I
- 1:11Speaker 1: would say a close second is some good Mexican food,
- 1:14Speaker 1: some good text Max. I should say, Oh my god,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I love you already. Yes, yes, it's just in front
- 1:21Speaker 1: of me and it is on. It's really sad. My
- 1:24Speaker 1: wife and I. We could just I come in at midnight.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I come in for burth. I just grab them chips,
- 1:29Speaker 1: give me some squawk, some good pico, Give me some
- 1:33Speaker 1: good sauca, some green or red, it doesn't matter. Now. Now,
- 1:37Speaker 1: he had a restaurant in Houston, where I'm originally from.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I was born to Raisings are now based in Atlanta,
- 1:41Speaker 1: Georgia called Loope Tortilla. Dad placed Loope Tortilla has it
- 1:47Speaker 1: must be the food is probably running through our family's
- 1:49Speaker 1: veins at this point we have eaten then for twenty years.
- 1:52Speaker 1: We love it. Oh my goodness, I love you for
- 1:56Speaker 1: saying that, because guess what, I'm a fan. Now let's
- 1:58Speaker 1: get back to why I really brought you on this
- 2:00Speaker 1: showing him well, you took the time to come on
- 2:01Speaker 1: and the show to promote another great project, movie project
- 2:04Speaker 1: that you involved in. By the from the Kendrick Brothers. Correct, Um,
- 2:09Speaker 1: this movie the title overcomer. Now you played the principle.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I saw the movie so we could talk about it.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I won't talk in much detail because it's the movie.
- 2:17Speaker 1: It's a two hour movie, and I'm recommending everybody to
- 2:20Speaker 1: go see it. And it was there was three times.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I will admit I'm an emotional guy when it comes
- 2:25Speaker 1: to these type of movies. There was three points in
- 2:26Speaker 1: the movie. I will admit I started tearing up. And
- 2:31Speaker 1: she was at the lake and she found herself after
- 2:34Speaker 1: you delivered that pros session with her, you know, and
- 2:36Speaker 1: told her her values, and she was sitting it in
- 2:39Speaker 1: the water was running by, and you know, she you
- 2:41Speaker 1: could tell she was being spiritually enhanced. And that that
- 2:45Speaker 1: that that that got me right there, that moment right there,
- 2:48Speaker 1: because that's what these movies. I'm proud of you for admitting.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm proud of you for admitting your emotionalism, sir. Okay,
- 2:53Speaker 1: if you didn't get to the yet. Now Okay, Now,
- 2:57Speaker 1: the thing about it is is that because I'm gonna tell
- 2:59Speaker 1: the third set, but we're gonna talk about so people
- 3:01Speaker 1: are gonna understand why why am I inspired by this move?
- 3:04Speaker 1: Why am I being motivated by this movie? And why
- 3:06Speaker 1: am I recommending this move? Tell us a little bit
- 3:09Speaker 1: about the move from your perspective and why it's such
- 3:12Speaker 1: a great movie. Absolutely, Well, you know what I love
- 3:15Speaker 1: about the Kendrick brothers. Um. I was about to say,
- 3:18Speaker 1: they're filmmaking, but it really is ministry. That's what I
- 3:21Speaker 1: love about it is that you're not just going to
- 3:23Speaker 1: be entertained. You're not just gonna have technical excellence. But
- 3:25Speaker 1: you know, we've seen with Courageous and then with Our
- 3:28Speaker 1: Room Facing the Giants, and now with overcom Er that
- 3:32Speaker 1: it's ministry. And so it is an unapologetic gospel film,
- 3:35Speaker 1: just like The War Room was. And um. The premise
- 3:38Speaker 1: of the film is that there are several characters, one
- 3:41Speaker 1: main character named Hannah, She's a fifteen year old girl,
- 3:43Speaker 1: who are all going through their own bits identity crisis
- 3:47Speaker 1: and um, they all sort of come to this reality
- 3:50Speaker 1: that their significance has been illegitimately tied to something like
- 3:54Speaker 1: success or career or um. In Hannah's case, he know,
- 3:57Speaker 1: he's a teenager, who of us aren't trying to find
- 3:59Speaker 1: ourselves we were te you know. And then it's compounded
- 4:02Speaker 1: by the fact that she's been kind of left my parents,
- 4:05Speaker 1: she's feel displaced in her life, and she's really trying
- 4:08Speaker 1: to navigate through all of that. And so in a
- 4:10Speaker 1: very emotional way, all of their stories get connected and
- 4:13Speaker 1: tied together, and they learned that you better have your significance,
- 4:17Speaker 1: like you said earlier in this program, you better have
- 4:20Speaker 1: a tie to something that does not change, because everything
- 4:22Speaker 1: else can be taken away from you. All the external
- 4:24Speaker 1: stuff like accolades or affirmation or success or you know,
- 4:29Speaker 1: that sort of stuff that's all that's even your health,
- 4:32Speaker 1: can be pulled away from you. And so none of
- 4:34Speaker 1: those things are wrong, but if your significance is tied
- 4:37Speaker 1: to them, you'll find yourself, you know, on constant peaks
- 4:40Speaker 1: and valleys throughout life. You know the thing about when
- 4:42Speaker 1: I been doing money making conversation, I get guess like
- 4:46Speaker 1: but still on the show. And she's one of the
- 4:48Speaker 1: stars of the movie Overcomer, which is uh from the
- 4:51Speaker 1: Kinchuck Brothers and the worst faith based It really gets
- 4:55Speaker 1: a bad turn of a bad terminology because people makes
- 4:58Speaker 1: decisions of oh, I'm going to the movie. They're just
- 5:01Speaker 1: praying the whole time. It's almost like a musical people,
- 5:03Speaker 1: they're thinking the musical, you're hearing people sing from the
- 5:05Speaker 1: beginning and to the end. It's just it's just it's
- 5:08Speaker 1: another form of entertainment. And you know, and and and
- 5:12Speaker 1: having a faith based movie like this and you participate
- 5:15Speaker 1: in the war room, which it was hugely successful. I
- 5:18Speaker 1: remember that that made headlines across the country that there's
- 5:21Speaker 1: an audience out there that wants to see these type
- 5:24Speaker 1: of movies. Who want to who who are not who
- 5:27Speaker 1: are not tied into Marvel, who's not tied into sci fi,
- 5:30Speaker 1: who's not tied in the R rated. They want a
- 5:32Speaker 1: movie they can take their family, they can walk in
- 5:34Speaker 1: there and they feel like they've walked out of that
- 5:36Speaker 1: would be nourished, their their spirit has been fed. And
- 5:40Speaker 1: that's what I felt I got when I watched this
- 5:42Speaker 1: movie this morning. Overcome m hmm, absolutely, and I agree
- 5:48Speaker 1: with you. I feel like in times past, even just
- 5:51Speaker 1: a decade ago, any movie that was labeled faith based films,
- 5:55Speaker 1: even those of us who have faith, who are who
- 5:57Speaker 1: are believers in Jesus, we would run from the filth
- 6:00Speaker 1: because there was an expectation that the quality was gonna
- 6:03Speaker 1: be low, the story was gonna be corny, so we
- 6:05Speaker 1: weren't really interested in taking especially not taking friends because
- 6:08Speaker 1: we were embarrassed. But now that script has changed. Um,
- 6:12Speaker 1: there are faith based films being made that are unapologetic gospel,
- 6:16Speaker 1: so not sugarcoated, not watered down at all. The name
- 6:18Speaker 1: of Jesus is lifted high. But at the same time,
- 6:21Speaker 1: there's technical excellence, and there are dollars that are put
- 6:24Speaker 1: behind these films production so that we can be sure
- 6:27Speaker 1: and we sit down in the theater, we're gonna see
- 6:29Speaker 1: not only technical excellence, but like you said, when you
- 6:32Speaker 1: watched it this morning, you had tears welling up in
- 6:34Speaker 1: your eyes because the story is good, the entertainment value
- 6:37Speaker 1: is there, and so I'm so grateful that the Lord's
- 6:41Speaker 1: sort of let me be a part of what I
- 6:42Speaker 1: feel like is a resurgence of what it means the
- 6:45Speaker 1: definition of faith based films. We've got a marriage now
- 6:49Speaker 1: of technical excellence matched with unapologetic gospel, and people that
- 6:54Speaker 1: may never read my Bible studies, or may never come
- 6:56Speaker 1: to a church, or may never even pick up the Bible,
- 6:59Speaker 1: what they will do was go to a movie theater
- 7:01Speaker 1: and get some hot, buttery, salty popcorn and a soda
- 7:03Speaker 1: and enjoy a film. And we're hoping that these will
- 7:06Speaker 1: just roll out the red carpet for the Holy Spirit
- 7:09Speaker 1: to march right into some unsuspecting person's life and introduce
- 7:12Speaker 1: himself to them. Well, this movie is overcome Er is
- 7:15Speaker 1: hitting the theaters August. That means this month a big movie.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Mark uh, put it on your calendar and let's go there.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Here's the let me tell everybody the third moment. I
- 7:25Speaker 1: told you I cried two times in the movie, it's
- 7:27Speaker 1: the third time I cried. And there's a moment where
- 7:30Speaker 1: where she asked one of the Kinchrick brothers. He's also
- 7:33Speaker 1: starring in the movie, Alex. She asked him and asked
- 7:37Speaker 1: me who I am? Ask me who I am? You
- 7:43Speaker 1: know you know something I've never And I think that
- 7:46Speaker 1: was just an important question because most people go through
- 7:48Speaker 1: life don't know who they are. Yeah, they go to
- 7:51Speaker 1: world parents they are. Parents don't know who they are.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Children don't know why they're supposed to be. People running
- 7:58Speaker 1: companies don't thee And that to me was a finding
- 8:00Speaker 1: moment for me personally, because just watching it, I asked
- 8:04Speaker 1: my question, I asked myself who am I? And I
- 8:08Speaker 1: think that there was a moment in the movie when
- 8:10Speaker 1: you talk about faith phased, challenging your challenging your beliefs,
- 8:14Speaker 1: looking forward, and being motivated to be the person that
- 8:16Speaker 1: you may not expect it believe that you could be.
- 8:20Speaker 1: It's what the basis of that this movie is all about.
- 8:22Speaker 1: To me, absolutely, absolutely, it's about asking yourself that question.
- 8:27Speaker 1: That's the goal. When someone leaves the theater, we're hoping
- 8:29Speaker 1: they're now considering who Who am I? For real? Are
- 8:33Speaker 1: there any places in my life, any areas of my
- 8:35Speaker 1: life where I've illegitimately attached my significance to that meaning
- 8:40Speaker 1: the acceptance by that group, or my climbing up the
- 8:43Speaker 1: ladder of success in that career. It's nothing wrong with
- 8:46Speaker 1: those things, but am I it's my significance tied to them?
- 8:50Speaker 1: Because man, if that thing is stripped away, And that's
- 8:52Speaker 1: what we see in the film. We see a bunch
- 8:54Speaker 1: of people again whose lives become more intertwined as the
- 8:57Speaker 1: story goes along, but each of them individually has something
- 9:00Speaker 1: stripped away from them, and when it is, it exposes
- 9:04Speaker 1: in them a place in their life where, man, they
- 9:05Speaker 1: didn't even realize that their significance had been tied to
- 9:09Speaker 1: that thing, and you know that's the way it is.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Sometimes we don't know it until the thing is stripped away.
- 9:15Speaker 1: And if you're disappointed by it, that's one thing. But
- 9:17Speaker 1: if you're devastated because that relationship is no longer there,
- 9:21Speaker 1: or that career is no longer there, or acceptance from
- 9:24Speaker 1: that group of people is no longer there, if you're devastated,
- 9:27Speaker 1: then you need to check and I need to check
- 9:29Speaker 1: and say, Lord, let me know if if, if, if
- 9:32Speaker 1: I have displaced you as the single most prioritizing factor
- 9:36Speaker 1: in my life and have allowed an idol to kind
- 9:38Speaker 1: of take that seat that should rightfully be yours. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 1: we'll pass to play do something on it because it
- 9:45Speaker 1: just right around here and just started Banjoe something. I'm
- 9:49Speaker 1: I'm enlightened. She plays uh the character Olivia Brooks in
- 9:54Speaker 1: the move new movie You're Coming out August Overcoma is
- 9:57Speaker 1: from the Kindred Brothers h or them to notice, one
- 10:01Speaker 1: of the more popular movies in their faith based process
- 10:03Speaker 1: that they've been involved in, but more in Portland, she's
- 10:06Speaker 1: been involved in the same movies. She's been She's been
- 10:08Speaker 1: caring a message, Bible teacher, doing nothing. We'll come back
- 10:12Speaker 1: and talk about a new book that she has coming
- 10:13Speaker 1: out this month called Radiant and uh More. My dear friend,
- 10:18Speaker 1: Mrs Priscilla Shire, Hi, this is Rashan McDonald. Rushan McDonald,
- 10:26Speaker 1: and you're listening to Money Making Conversations, a show that
- 10:28Speaker 1: changes people's lives when they just listen. It's called Effort.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something about yourself. If you can't
- 10:34Speaker 1: make a little bit of effort, a little bit of
- 10:36Speaker 1: change in your daily routine to be better, because I'm
- 10:40Speaker 1: telling about life. Life allows you to be routine. Life
- 10:43Speaker 1: allows you to get up, eat, intermingled with people, go
- 10:48Speaker 1: back to sleep, get up eat in the meeting with people,
- 10:53Speaker 1: go back to sleep. Is that the life that you
- 10:55Speaker 1: want to lead? Or do you want to have a lead?
- 10:56Speaker 1: A life where you want to like throw a curve
- 10:59Speaker 1: in that process. And when you throw a curve of
- 11:01Speaker 1: that process, people will say you look different today, you
- 11:04Speaker 1: walk different today, you talk different today. That's that's what
- 11:07Speaker 1: we shouting McDonald. Is I through curves. When I walk
- 11:10Speaker 1: in the room, people know there's a dynamic person. Why
- 11:14Speaker 1: can't I say the word dynamic? I'm dynamic. I can't
- 11:17Speaker 1: compliment myself. I can't see the value of who I am.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I can't well. I gotta be humble. You're in the
- 11:22Speaker 1: era of social media. The word humble does not exist
- 11:25Speaker 1: in the world of selfies. My guests on the show
- 11:28Speaker 1: today is a person who's been inspiring people all her
- 11:31Speaker 1: life because her father is Uh. It's an inspiration. I
- 11:35Speaker 1: interviewed her brother, Anthony Evans on the show. He is
- 11:38Speaker 1: an inspiration and she's involved in the movie called The
- 11:41Speaker 1: Overcomer and the movie is about his faith based movie.
- 11:45Speaker 1: But she's also a New York Times bestselling author. She
- 11:49Speaker 1: has a book coming out this mark called Radiant. Please
- 11:52Speaker 1: welcome back to the show, Miss Priscilla Shire. How Priscilla,
- 11:57Speaker 1: I'm good, Thanks for having me. I'll be trying to
- 11:59Speaker 1: be you know. I mean, I'll bean I'm preaching to
- 12:01Speaker 1: it my own way and my own entrepreneurship way, my
- 12:04Speaker 1: own ability to tap into people and tell them that.
- 12:07Speaker 1: You know, Lana Adams told me Roshan, there's no separation
- 12:10Speaker 1: between faith and entrepreneurship. You gotta they get to wine.
- 12:15Speaker 1: The goals are the same, but you gotta have faith
- 12:17Speaker 1: to set a sense of purpose on what you're trying
- 12:19Speaker 1: to achieve. Now, this new book that you have called Radiant.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Tell us about this book, Well, Radiant is designed to
- 12:25Speaker 1: put something in the hands of particularly UM women, younger
- 12:29Speaker 1: women in particular, that might leave the theater and really
- 12:32Speaker 1: want to explore and ask themselves the hard questions about identity,
- 12:36Speaker 1: and so we wanted to have something that would enable
- 12:38Speaker 1: them to do that. Um. That's something else I appreciate
- 12:41Speaker 1: about these filmmakers is that they really do want to
- 12:43Speaker 1: minister to people and encourage their lives. So, like with
- 12:46Speaker 1: War Room, I wrote a book called Fervent that was
- 12:48Speaker 1: strategic prayer for women who were watching the movie and
- 12:52Speaker 1: then wanted to learn how to pray like that character
- 12:54Speaker 1: did in Um in War Room. And so it's the
- 12:57Speaker 1: same thing with with this movie. We want to make
- 13:00Speaker 1: sure that people could be equipped to really explore the
- 13:03Speaker 1: issues of identity to see how their identity could become
- 13:06Speaker 1: rooted in Christ. And I did it in a way
- 13:08Speaker 1: that hopefully will really speak to younger women as well. UM,
- 13:12Speaker 1: like you know, kind of jumping back into my teenagers
- 13:15Speaker 1: and earlies and chronicling some of the personal things that
- 13:18Speaker 1: I went through and still go through all of us
- 13:20Speaker 1: to do as we sort of struggle, struggle forward and
- 13:24Speaker 1: kind of um, you know, stand against the lies of
- 13:27Speaker 1: the enemy to really deceive us and discourage us, and
- 13:30Speaker 1: that make us live in a way that is incongruent
- 13:32Speaker 1: with who God says we are. This is amazing, Like
- 13:35Speaker 1: my daughters, she's twenty two, she's a junior in college
- 13:38Speaker 1: at the University of Houston and uh and you know,
- 13:40Speaker 1: just a beautiful child. And so did you say University
- 13:44Speaker 1: of Houston. Yes, ma'am, that's my alma mater. All you
- 13:48Speaker 1: gotta do is to keep talking to this family, this family.
- 13:50Speaker 1: I love this family. Okay, I'm a Cooper. Now you walk,
- 13:54Speaker 1: you walk outside that little the stadium. My name sit
- 13:57Speaker 1: right on that tiger and cooler right there, Richard McDonald,
- 14:00Speaker 1: because I believe in my state. Now now she's over there,
- 14:03Speaker 1: you know, she's you know, she's a she was a farmer. Uh,
- 14:07Speaker 1: I can say, uh, star and tennis as a as
- 14:09Speaker 1: a tennis prodigy. And then she blew out her knee.
- 14:12Speaker 1: And this is where the whole process of faith and
- 14:14Speaker 1: belief and the whole dreams changed in the team, you know,
- 14:18Speaker 1: and from you know, she had been hitting the tennis
- 14:21Speaker 1: right and since she was six years old and so
- 14:24Speaker 1: and to get refocused, you have to have people around
- 14:27Speaker 1: you guiding you. So when I when I you're talking
- 14:30Speaker 1: about this book, how does the Is the book written
- 14:33Speaker 1: for somebody like my daughter or is it written for
- 14:35Speaker 1: the parents? Oh? No, it's written for your daughter. It
- 14:39Speaker 1: is written so that a woman at that stage and
- 14:42Speaker 1: that age of life can grab holds of this book
- 14:44Speaker 1: can read something that is friendly read or friendly in
- 14:46Speaker 1: other words, they don't feel like school work to them.
- 14:48Speaker 1: They will enjoy the realities that I share um that
- 14:52Speaker 1: are you know, captivating because they can relate to it. So,
- 14:55Speaker 1: for example, one whole chapter is called my hair Story,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and then in parenthes is what's your story? And I
- 15:01Speaker 1: just talk about my my own struggles with enjoying the
- 15:05Speaker 1: fact that I am in my natural self, created in
- 15:08Speaker 1: the image of God, which means I don't have to
- 15:10Speaker 1: chemically alter myself to fit in with the paradigm of
- 15:14Speaker 1: sameness that is celebrated in our culture as a standard
- 15:17Speaker 1: of beauty. And and in other words, that was my
- 15:20Speaker 1: struggle my hair. But I kind of open that up
- 15:22Speaker 1: than the question to the reader, what's your story? Because
- 15:25Speaker 1: all of us have in our physicality and in our
- 15:27Speaker 1: personality something that maybe the culture hasn't celebrated, or where
- 15:31Speaker 1: we have felt rejected or teased because we don't look
- 15:34Speaker 1: a certain way, or our hips are wider than another,
- 15:37Speaker 1: or our nose is more broad than another, and we
- 15:40Speaker 1: wanted to be different. And so I just talk about
- 15:42Speaker 1: how we are literally created in the image of God,
- 15:46Speaker 1: and that every aspect of our uniqueness is intentionally designed
- 15:50Speaker 1: to reflect God in a way to our sphere of
- 15:53Speaker 1: influence in a way that can't be done unless we
- 15:56Speaker 1: just go ahead and be ourselves. So God intended for
- 15:59Speaker 1: us look this way. And so the book again is
- 16:02Speaker 1: designed for a young woman to be able to grab
- 16:04Speaker 1: hold of it, read it, and enjoy seeing herself in
- 16:08Speaker 1: everything single chapter. That's important because of the fact that
- 16:11Speaker 1: I constantly talked to my daughter about who she is
- 16:15Speaker 1: and what she can be about. Never never um talking
- 16:19Speaker 1: about her physical appearance, uh, never engaging it as a point.
- 16:23Speaker 1: You know that she should be concerned about how how
- 16:28Speaker 1: she needs to look. You know, I talked about being
- 16:31Speaker 1: a professional. She needs to show up for work when
- 16:33Speaker 1: she goes to work, she needs to show up for
- 16:35Speaker 1: an interview when she goes to church. But her everyday
- 16:38Speaker 1: life should be her own path. And so when I
- 16:40Speaker 1: hear you talk talk about the importance of allowing young
- 16:44Speaker 1: ladies with proper guidance to be young ladies absolutely well
- 16:50Speaker 1: again centers in on really having a discussion with the
- 16:54Speaker 1: Lord over the course of your life. To say, Lord,
- 16:57Speaker 1: on a consistent basis, Lord, what is it that are
- 16:59Speaker 1: your priorities for me in this season of life? And
- 17:03Speaker 1: then to be tender enough to just kind of take
- 17:06Speaker 1: counsel with that inner conviction. I mean, the Holy Spirit
- 17:08Speaker 1: speaking to us all the time. If we'll pay attention,
- 17:11Speaker 1: there are little things of conviction. When we're headed in
- 17:13Speaker 1: a direction that don't feel right. There are little um
- 17:17Speaker 1: nuances of peace even when we're you know, headed in
- 17:20Speaker 1: a direction that other people don't applaud, but it just
- 17:23Speaker 1: settles well on the inside of us and aligns with
- 17:26Speaker 1: His word. If we'll pay attention, we'll find that he
- 17:28Speaker 1: is guiding us into the direction of God's will for
- 17:30Speaker 1: our life. But that means we have to be women
- 17:33Speaker 1: who and men who choose to continually ask God Today, Lord,
- 17:37Speaker 1: I'm surrendered to you in this season of my life,
- 17:40Speaker 1: like for your daughter in my college career. Lord, I'm
- 17:43Speaker 1: surrendered to you. So I'm gonna keep touching base with
- 17:45Speaker 1: you to let you know that I've surrendered my full self,
- 17:49Speaker 1: my mind, my body, my emotions, my ambitions, I've surrendered
- 17:54Speaker 1: them to you for your purposes. And then I'm going
- 17:56Speaker 1: to take a moment to pause and check the direction
- 17:59Speaker 1: of the Holy Spirit on the inside of me as
- 18:01Speaker 1: you lead and guide me into your will for my life. Okay, now, so, um,
- 18:07Speaker 1: I need to put you on tape so I can
- 18:10Speaker 1: just play you back like you know once a month,
- 18:12Speaker 1: you know, so you just keep me going. I'm gonna
- 18:15Speaker 1: put you I record that little section right there, gonna
- 18:17Speaker 1: be part of my little you know, my little inspiration
- 18:20Speaker 1: because you're you are an inspiration. You know, we're with
- 18:22Speaker 1: It's it's amazing we've you've come on my show. We've
- 18:25Speaker 1: talked about the movie Overcomer, which was coming out this
- 18:28Speaker 1: month and the month of August on the twenty three
- 18:31Speaker 1: must see movie the movie there move me and I
- 18:34Speaker 1: uh And I say that, uh, Priscilla, because of the
- 18:37Speaker 1: fact that I'm here to do a job, and so
- 18:39Speaker 1: when I look at stuff, I have to be professional
- 18:42Speaker 1: and and and review the things that are sent to
- 18:44Speaker 1: me to make the interview work, to make the interview
- 18:46Speaker 1: feel confident for the people were taking their time to
- 18:48Speaker 1: come on my show. And when I watch things like that,
- 18:51Speaker 1: movies that affect me as I go through because I'm
- 18:54Speaker 1: not I don't even I don't have any reviews on
- 18:56Speaker 1: this movie, you know, and quite frankly, I may not
- 18:59Speaker 1: know all the actors and actors because these level of movies.
- 19:01Speaker 1: You know, you're not gonna see Denzel in these movies.
- 19:03Speaker 1: You know you're not gonna see Sammuel Jackson this movie.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You're not gonna see you know, Matt Damon in these movies.
- 19:09Speaker 1: That's that. That's the movies on budgeted like that, these
- 19:12Speaker 1: budgets at a certain level, the quality is amazing. The
- 19:15Speaker 1: storyteller telling this is amazing as well. Then you throw
- 19:19Speaker 1: a gym my way. This book radiant. I didn't even
- 19:22Speaker 1: see this from coming. And it impacts young women today
- 19:26Speaker 1: who with social media can be so easily damaged by
- 19:31Speaker 1: a post, be bullied by post to be their lives
- 19:36Speaker 1: can be, a video can be, uh can be just
- 19:39Speaker 1: They're changed. And so where can I buy this book?
- 19:42Speaker 1: Because I'm buying this book today, I leave my office,
- 19:47Speaker 1: I'm surprised. My daughter. I'm handed to her today because
- 19:52Speaker 1: she just needs to read this. You know, she read
- 19:53Speaker 1: everything else, Why not read this? Because this is an
- 19:56Speaker 1: important seed in her growth and how emotional a growth,
- 20:00Speaker 1: a physical growth, and more importantly our spiritual growth. Well, man,
- 20:05Speaker 1: I sure do hope. So I have prayed to that
- 20:07Speaker 1: end that the Lord would take every word and would
- 20:09Speaker 1: use it to encourage a woman that's coming along up
- 20:12Speaker 1: behind me. Awesome, What can I get it? I just
- 20:15Speaker 1: get it online? Okay, bookstores, we're about absolutely, it should
- 20:19Speaker 1: be anywhere books are sold. But you know, our ministry
- 20:22Speaker 1: is going beyond ministry, so going beyond dot com. We
- 20:26Speaker 1: have it there, and then of course anywhere books are sold. Okay, okay, good,
- 20:29Speaker 1: all right, good, I'm one point right now. We got
- 20:32Speaker 1: a minute and a half left. Here's your moment as
- 20:35Speaker 1: we repromote the movie. Tell us about the movie. The
- 20:37Speaker 1: greatness of the movie comes out auguste this month. The
- 20:41Speaker 1: name of the movie is Overcome Or. You played the
- 20:43Speaker 1: principal in the movie, Olivia Brooks. Hit it so we
- 20:46Speaker 1: can get out on an up note. Yes, Overcome Or
- 20:50Speaker 1: is going to be a movie. You're gonna want to
- 20:51Speaker 1: take your friends too. You're gonna want your family to
- 20:54Speaker 1: see It speaks to you. If you're male, female, if
- 20:57Speaker 1: you're younger or in an older season of your life,
- 20:59Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. You're gonna enjoy a great story. You're
- 21:01Speaker 1: gonna enjoy great characters. I love the diversity in this
- 21:04Speaker 1: film that you're going to see yourself in this film,
- 21:07Speaker 1: no matter what race you are, that if you are
- 21:09Speaker 1: a Christian, you're gonna encur You're gonna be encouraged by
- 21:11Speaker 1: the unapologetic gospel theme, and you're gonna have an opportunity
- 21:16Speaker 1: to take maybe friends that aren't a faith, but you're
- 21:19Speaker 1: gonna want to sort of in an entertaining way, introduce
- 21:21Speaker 1: to them the possibility of resentering their identity in Christ.
- 21:25Speaker 1: This is an incredible opportunity to do that. So I
- 21:27Speaker 1: hope you have the saltiest, most butteriest, incredible popcorn of
- 21:31Speaker 1: your life while you sit there, hopefully on opening weekend.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I hope you'll just go out on opening weekend because
- 21:38Speaker 1: it matters. The dollars we spend on opening weekend with
- 21:41Speaker 1: films like this really send a message to the production
- 21:43Speaker 1: companies that we want these kind of kingdoms films in
- 21:48Speaker 1: theaters everywhere. You're fantastic again. Send me the banners so
- 21:52Speaker 1: I can do my part. It's my social media and
- 21:54Speaker 1: spread the word. You're amazing, Priscilla. Please don't make this
- 21:57Speaker 1: the last time coming on my show. Okay,
