- 0:07Speaker 2: It's the show that she is the secrets of success
- 0:08Speaker 2: experience firsthand by Marketing and Brandon expert Rashan McDonald. I
- 0:12Speaker 2: will know he's giving me advice on many occasions. And in
- 0:14Speaker 2: case you didn't notice, I'm not broke. You know he'll
- 0:18Speaker 2: be interviewing celebrity CEOs, entrepreneurs and industry decision make because
- 0:21Speaker 2: it's what he likes to do, it's what he likes
- 0:23Speaker 2: to share. Now it's time to hear from my man,
- 0:26Speaker 2: Rashwan McDonald Money Making Conversations.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Here we go. Thank you, Thank you.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Appreciate everybody tuning in today to listen to my show,
- 0:35Speaker 1: Money Making Conversation. This is Rashaan McDonald. I am the
- 0:38Speaker 1: host doing this show for you. Last week, I promoted
- 0:43Speaker 1: heavily that we'll be talking about value proposition. Those two
- 0:46Speaker 1: words are very magical in my life. Now I didn't
- 0:50Speaker 1: understand him. My wife challenged me to find out what
- 0:54Speaker 1: my value proposition was in my business in my personal life,
- 0:58Speaker 1: and I really didn't know what she was talking. I
- 1:00Speaker 1: really didn't because of the fact that I have been
- 1:03Speaker 1: going through life naturally achieving success tied to my willingness
- 1:09Speaker 1: to work hard or outwork you, my willingness to set goals.
- 1:14Speaker 1: But I didn't understand the word value proposition. And let
- 1:18Speaker 1: me give you a quick definition of value proposition, because
- 1:20Speaker 1: we're going to do two things.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Here.
- 1:21Speaker 1: We're going to talk about the career side or your
- 1:23Speaker 1: job using value proposition, and next week you're going to
- 1:26Speaker 1: talk about your business or your product using value proposition.
- 1:31Speaker 1: A quick example of value proposition on the business side
- 1:36Speaker 1: is when you promote something, some people use slogans just
- 1:39Speaker 1: do it.
- 1:40Speaker 3: That's a slogan.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I don't have to tell you what that brand's associated
- 1:44Speaker 1: with it because they market it, you know now. But
- 1:47Speaker 1: products and service are tied to value proposition. For instance,
- 1:54Speaker 1: just as an example, we know they have a great
- 1:57Speaker 1: chicken sandwich, but when you see that commercials, they're always
- 2:01Speaker 1: talking about their customer service. And when you go in,
- 2:04Speaker 1: you know what I'm talking about. Because you see it,
- 2:06Speaker 1: you understand it. And so when when brands that put
- 2:09Speaker 1: themselves in a position that way where they you can
- 2:12Speaker 1: just talk about what they do, then you automatically know
- 2:16Speaker 1: that the marketing that they're putting in place is winning.
- 2:19Speaker 3: And so.
- 2:21Speaker 1: When you go to their place, they talk about great service.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Guess what you get good service there. That's what it is.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Has to happen to you as an individual when you
- 2:30Speaker 1: go to work. But what what prevents you from being successful?
- 2:34Speaker 1: And I want you to get a pen out of
- 2:35Speaker 1: today because I'm gonna get I'm gonna drop some nuggets
- 2:37Speaker 1: on you. I'm gonna drop some phrases on you. I'm
- 2:39Speaker 1: gonna drop some things that you want to put on
- 2:41Speaker 1: your mirror, that you want to you want to share
- 2:44Speaker 1: with people because of the fact that this is information
- 2:47Speaker 1: I've been storing in my life and I've been being
- 2:50Speaker 1: I now to have been successful as an individual. I've
- 2:54Speaker 1: been successful as a business owner. I've been successful as
- 2:57Speaker 1: a manager because of talent and because of the fact
- 3:02Speaker 1: that I was just doing it. I was just working it.
- 3:05Speaker 1: But is in life a lot easier if you know
- 3:07Speaker 1: why you are successful, if you can start thinking like
- 3:10Speaker 1: a corporation, if you can start telling people from jump,
- 3:14Speaker 1: this is what my value proposition is, and then they
- 3:17Speaker 1: can understand how much they should pay you. Because if
- 3:22Speaker 1: you don't have a value proposition on the job that
- 3:24Speaker 1: you're doing forty hours a week, then you're going to
- 3:26Speaker 1: be frustrated. You're not going to get promoted, you're not
- 3:30Speaker 1: going to get a raise, and you're going to be
- 3:32Speaker 1: a complainer at your job, which will only diminish your
- 3:36Speaker 1: value proposition. So, rishond, what's a value proposition? Is a
- 3:40Speaker 1: declarative statement. This is from the This is a definition
- 3:43Speaker 1: that explains why you should pursue your product a build
- 3:48Speaker 1: on it. It clearly explains what differentiates you, makes you're
- 3:52Speaker 1: offering unique. What are you doing at your job that
- 3:56Speaker 1: justifies a raise, What are you doing at your job
- 3:59Speaker 1: that justifies a promotion, and why you're the best choice
- 4:04Speaker 1: for that opportunity. Right there, I'm gonna show you example
- 4:10Speaker 1: of that. When I got first hired at IBM, and
- 4:15Speaker 1: I worked two and a half years at IBM, and
- 4:18Speaker 1: then I worked fortunately two and a half years full time.
- 4:21Speaker 1: When I got hired, the first thing that they did
- 4:24Speaker 1: was brought me into office and they asked me what
- 4:28Speaker 1: were my goals? What were my dreams? What did I
- 4:33Speaker 1: want to do at IBM? You know what I told him?
- 4:37Speaker 1: I don't know. Right there, the guy was asking me
- 4:42Speaker 1: for my value proposition. He didn't say those words, but
- 4:45Speaker 1: that's what he was asking me for. And I told
- 4:47Speaker 1: him I don't know. So if I don't know what
- 4:50Speaker 1: my value proposition is, how am I going to get
- 4:53Speaker 1: a raised, How I'm going to get promoted? Well, guess
- 4:56Speaker 1: what happened six months later, guys who was hired simultaneously
- 5:03Speaker 1: I used to work at the same time that I
- 5:05Speaker 1: was hired. They were moving in front of me. They
- 5:10Speaker 1: were doing things I was not doing. So guess what.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I started hanging out with the negative people use the
- 5:18Speaker 1: word like and they happened to be white. Okay, so
- 5:22Speaker 1: guess what I started saying, Well, you know it's a
- 5:25Speaker 1: white thing. You know. You know it's a racial thing
- 5:29Speaker 1: going on here, you know, because we got hired at
- 5:32Speaker 1: the same time.
- 5:35Speaker 3: And look what they're doing. They're doing stuff they won't.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Even let me do because I did not tell anybody
- 5:43Speaker 1: or did I understand my value proposition.
- 5:46Speaker 3: So guess what.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I marched into the office with my supervisor, the same
- 5:50Speaker 1: supervisor who asked me six months earlier what I wanted
- 5:56Speaker 1: to do at IBM. So I said, sir, and I
- 6:02Speaker 1: was trying to be politically correct, but I wanted to
- 6:06Speaker 1: let him know I wasn't happy, I said, sir, you know,
- 6:10Speaker 1: just by mentioning the two guys were two guys. I said,
- 6:14Speaker 1: they seem to be doing more than I'm doing, and
- 6:17Speaker 1: I don't think that's fair.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I used to work fair.
- 6:22Speaker 1: He said, Uh, what do you mean? He said, Reshin,
- 6:27Speaker 1: you still have not told me what.
- 6:30Speaker 3: You want to do. I said, what do you mean?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Besides you six months ago, what did you want to
- 6:37Speaker 1: do at this company?
- 6:39Speaker 3: And you failed to tell me. I failed to tell
- 6:42Speaker 3: him my value proposition.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I failed to tell him my ability to work and
- 6:49Speaker 1: how I wanted to work and how I wanted to
- 6:51Speaker 1: achieve success. I did not create a plan. I don't
- 6:56Speaker 1: care what you're doing. You could be a baker as
- 6:58Speaker 1: a plan, you could be the a garbage truck working
- 7:01Speaker 1: on a God. There's a plan, and.
- 7:03Speaker 3: You can be promoted if you have a plan. But
- 7:07Speaker 3: if you sit around.
- 7:09Speaker 1: And you just act frustrated because you want somebody magically
- 7:15Speaker 1: to drop some money on you, magically promote you, but
- 7:19Speaker 1: they don't even know what you want to do. That
- 7:23Speaker 1: was Rashaan McDonald. I did not understand value proposition for me.
- 7:29Speaker 1: So guess what happened? I told him what I wanted
- 7:33Speaker 1: to do. Andy, guess what happened? Positive things started happening
- 7:39Speaker 1: in my life, but I had to do more for
- 7:46Speaker 1: those positive things to happen at the same salary. That's
- 7:50Speaker 1: the whole thing about it. If you want to climb
- 7:52Speaker 1: mount effest, you know you're gonna have to put effort
- 7:56Speaker 1: into it. It's a lot of people want to climb
- 7:58Speaker 1: mount efforts. A lot of people don't make it. They
- 8:01Speaker 1: get tied, come back down. Ooh that's high. I ain't
- 8:04Speaker 1: know it that high. I take the photos? Can we
- 8:08Speaker 1: can we take? Can we just do a.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Helicopter ride up there? That ain't climbing it.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Some people, you go by their house, they have pictures
- 8:15Speaker 1: of of I got a picture of the Grand Canyon
- 8:18Speaker 1: on my house, big old picture. I've never been to
- 8:21Speaker 1: the Grand Canyon because my value proposition was it's better
- 8:26Speaker 1: to buy a picture tend to go. So that's not
- 8:31Speaker 1: short changing myself. They just show value proposition for that moment.
- 8:35Speaker 1: But in life, I have to talk to you to
- 8:38Speaker 1: stop this madness because there are three words why not me?
- 8:46Speaker 1: Write that down. I can say why not you? But
- 8:51Speaker 1: guess what you're looking in the mirror, so you should
- 8:55Speaker 1: be saying why not me. It all comes down to
- 8:59Speaker 1: how much effort what you want to do to achieve success.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Write this down. You can't be successful unless you have
- 9:07Speaker 1: a plan. What does plans stand for? A rushon McDonald's
- 9:13Speaker 1: Lane of success, P for prepare al, for learn, A
- 9:17Speaker 1: for adjust, and for navigate. Okay, cool, Let's go back
- 9:23Speaker 1: to that story I told you about and IBM. When
- 9:26Speaker 1: I didn't tell my man what I wanted to do
- 9:29Speaker 1: when I got hired, I wasn't prepared. I wasn't willing
- 9:35Speaker 1: to learn, I wasn't willing to adjust, and I definitely
- 9:39Speaker 1: didn't navigate. And when you say navigate, that means you
- 9:44Speaker 1: have to do more. So when I told them what
- 9:48Speaker 1: I wanted to do, that means when I came to work,
- 9:51Speaker 1: I had a different attitude. I wasn't just coming to
- 9:54Speaker 1: work to get a check. I was coming to work
- 9:57Speaker 1: because I had goals, because I had a plan. See,
- 10:02Speaker 1: you can't set goals unless you have a plan. Write
- 10:06Speaker 1: that down. I want somebody writing this down, because I'm
- 10:09Speaker 1: telling you you got to go through the Why not me?
- 10:11Speaker 1: You got a plan which is prepared, learn or just
- 10:14Speaker 1: to navigate, and then you can start setting goals. And
- 10:19Speaker 1: now when you start setting goals, guess what you can
- 10:21Speaker 1: start doing? Asking for stuff asking to be evaluated. But
- 10:29Speaker 1: there's a lot of people out there that don't want
- 10:31Speaker 1: to be evaluated, afraid of what they might hear, Afraid
- 10:37Speaker 1: they might hear something negative, Afraid somebody might tell you
- 10:43Speaker 1: you're not doing enough. So guess what happens to you.
- 10:49Speaker 1: You get passed up, You become a frustrated employee, You
- 10:52Speaker 1: about the water cooler, cooler, complaining, and that's when the
- 10:57Speaker 1: racial thing starts popping up if you're a person of color.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So I can't I can only speak of my side.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I can only speak of the conversation I have because
- 11:04Speaker 1: I've been a person of color all my life. There
- 11:07Speaker 1: might be some white people over there. They might have
- 11:09Speaker 1: the same story. I don't know, But I'm just telling
- 11:13Speaker 1: you about my story and how I can't let you
- 11:18Speaker 1: do things that will prevent you from being successful because
- 11:22Speaker 1: you've decided to limit your ability to be great. I
- 11:29Speaker 1: went to this event where I was honored, called Kings
- 11:32Speaker 1: and Priests, Great honor, great event. It was a summit,
- 11:37Speaker 1: men's summit. It was by enhance you mentally, enhance you mentally, spiritually, physically,
- 11:43Speaker 1: and emotionally. You know, one of my great walkaways was
- 11:46Speaker 1: that these men were there to be motivated and to
- 11:50Speaker 1: find answers, because that's all we're looking for out there
- 11:54Speaker 1: in life is answers. So when I say why not me,
- 11:58Speaker 1: I'm saying that not to challenge you, for you to
- 12:02Speaker 1: look into the possibility of how big you can be
- 12:04Speaker 1: in life. So when I ask you to plan your goal,
- 12:09Speaker 1: then I'm expecting you to have that in place in
- 12:13Speaker 1: order for you to achieve success. So when we get
- 12:16Speaker 1: down to the bottom line, the number one lesson you
- 12:20Speaker 1: have to say, I don't care if you're eighteen, twenty five,
- 12:24Speaker 1: forty fifty or sixty five. Do not let your age
- 12:28Speaker 1: be an excused. That's number one lesson. You've heard that
- 12:32Speaker 1: you're too young. You've heard that you're too old. You've
- 12:37Speaker 1: heard that why are you doing that? You have no dreams?
- 12:43Speaker 1: You should just give up. You can't start that now.
- 12:48Speaker 1: These people right here, these negative people right here, you
- 12:52Speaker 1: can allow them to have a role in your life.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And these people are people you know. Could be your wife,
- 13:00Speaker 1: could be your children, could be your co workers. Now,
- 13:10Speaker 1: have I struck a nerve yet? Are you surrounded by
- 13:16Speaker 1: people who will not allowing you to win? Because you
- 13:20Speaker 1: work at a place where you go to lunch, you
- 13:23Speaker 1: hang out with all this negative spirit. All they want
- 13:26Speaker 1: to do is talk about each other. All they want
- 13:28Speaker 1: to do is gossip about each other. All they want
- 13:31Speaker 1: to do is learn about your personal life. So guess what,
- 13:36Speaker 1: so they can share with everybody else because you did
- 13:42Speaker 1: not understand your value proposition. Because see what happens is
- 13:46Speaker 1: once you understand your value proposition, you don't hang out
- 13:49Speaker 1: with people like that. You ever heard the word like minded?
- 13:55Speaker 1: You hang out with people like minded? Now you heard
- 14:00Speaker 1: the word stuck up, hoardy tordy? Think they all that? Well,
- 14:08Speaker 1: that's what value proposition is. You can't run for president
- 14:14Speaker 1: and hang out with drug dealers. Two different value propositions,
- 14:21Speaker 1: but a popular phrase that is out there in the
- 14:26Speaker 1: streets every day, keeping it real. Well, we're gonna keep
- 14:31Speaker 1: it real today. If you don't have a value proposition,
- 14:34Speaker 1: you better get one. When I come back, We're gonna
- 14:37Speaker 1: get any more detail about this because I'm not through.
- 14:39Speaker 1: It's about your career. This is about you. I'm gonna
- 14:42Speaker 1: start doing this more and more on my show. I'm
- 14:44Speaker 1: gonna start giving information and I want you to write
- 14:47Speaker 1: it down. And if you want to call police, call
- 14:49Speaker 1: cause Let's discuss your value proposition. Ideas that are bothering
- 14:53Speaker 1: you that you feel need to be changed today. Knowing
- 14:56Speaker 1: your value proposition, learn today, learn your plan, Learn why
- 15:01Speaker 1: not me. We'll be right back with more money Making

- 15:35Speaker 6: Well, when I came in as a producer, I knew

- 15:40Speaker 6: really started with my journey at FAM. You because I
- 15:44Speaker 6: made my first film project, which was Chocolate City, while
- 15:47Speaker 6: I was still an undergraduate at Family, I was a junior.
- 15:51Speaker 6: We shot Chocolate City, this a little bitty movie, and
- 15:54Speaker 6: in order for that film to be successful, I had
- 15:56Speaker 6: to go out to my audience, my core audience, and
- 15:59Speaker 6: I've realized I needed to go out and explain to
- 16:02Speaker 6: that audience why they should care about this film, and
- 16:05Speaker 6: that really started something that I still do to this day,
- 16:08Speaker 6: which is going out and trying to touch people with
- 16:10Speaker 6: every project that I have.

- 17:44Speaker 1: now I want to talk I'm talking to you about
- 17:46Speaker 1: your career. Next week I'll be talking about your business,
- 17:50Speaker 1: your products and your value proposition. There plan again, the
- 17:57Speaker 1: four letters in plan. Prepare that's what peace stands for. Learn,
- 18:02Speaker 1: That's what the AL stands for. Adjust, that's what the
- 18:05Speaker 1: A stands for. Navigate that's what the N stands for.
- 18:08Speaker 1: These lessons and what happens in social media. Social media
- 18:11Speaker 1: is really has proven to be a detriment in our
- 18:14Speaker 1: society in a lot of ways because it can convince
- 18:18Speaker 1: you that you can't win. It'll get you going down
- 18:20Speaker 1: a track of ignorance. I'll say the word ignorance because
- 18:25Speaker 1: if you go down that track and you don't understand that,
- 18:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna just give you an example how racism and
- 18:31Speaker 1: how people can just put out.
- 18:32Speaker 3: A racial story just to be a story.
- 18:34Speaker 1: One of the biggest stories out there in Sportsland is
- 18:37Speaker 1: the relationship between Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift. I don't
- 18:44Speaker 1: care if you don't follow football. You know about this,
- 18:48Speaker 1: You know about the Swifties, you know about Travis Kelsey.
- 18:52Speaker 1: You know he got about five thousand TV commercials. Every
- 18:56Speaker 1: time I come on TV, I said, I just can't
- 18:58Speaker 1: miss this good handsome guy.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Thirty three. She's thirty three.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Now what you have not heard, according to this article
- 19:06Speaker 1: because of racism, because he plays football and she has
- 19:11Speaker 1: she's a pop star, right, because of racism? You not
- 19:14Speaker 1: have You have not received the same attention is Simone
- 19:19Speaker 1: Biles and her husband Jonathan Owes, who plays for the
- 19:24Speaker 1: Green Bay Packers. They making that issue out of that.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Come on there, come on there, don't get caught up
- 19:33Speaker 1: in there. Don't caught up in there. One lady got
- 19:36Speaker 1: two hundred and seventy one million Instagram follows. I'm just
- 19:40Speaker 1: at the instagrams. Simone has seven million. One dude then
- 19:47Speaker 1: host of Saturday Night Live. I've already told you he
- 19:50Speaker 1: got fifteen thousand TV commercials. Here is the number one podcast.
- 19:57Speaker 1: He's got to get inducted into the Pro Football Hall
- 19:59Speaker 1: of Fame when he retires and he's a defendant Super
- 20:03Speaker 1: Bowl champan not taking anything away from my mind. He's
- 20:06Speaker 1: a really good football player because they're telling him a
- 20:08Speaker 1: check at the Green Bay Packers. But we're talking apples
- 20:12Speaker 1: and oranges. But people, and these are people who work
- 20:16Speaker 1: with you, will get you bit out in the wrong
- 20:20Speaker 1: direction instead of you, focus on you. That's what the
- 20:24Speaker 1: value proposition is all about. I'm trying to get you
- 20:26Speaker 1: to be focused on you. What did it takes for
- 20:30Speaker 1: you to win? What is gonna take for you to
- 20:33Speaker 1: find your voice? Stop talking to the wrong people. Stop
- 20:39Speaker 1: talking to the wrong people. I've shared this through and
- 20:42Speaker 1: shares the story right now. Value proposition, which I did
- 20:46Speaker 1: not know, and my wife will tell you. She took
- 20:49Speaker 1: this amazing course with Cornell. She came back way smarter
- 20:52Speaker 1: than I wanted her to be because she kept asking
- 20:55Speaker 1: me questions I refuse to answer. O the frustration such
- 20:59Speaker 1: what you do?
- 21:00Speaker 3: You know you? When you when you don't know? You?
- 21:01Speaker 1: Just I don't feel like talking today. I ain't got
- 21:04Speaker 1: much to say. You know, you fight off ignorance with
- 21:09Speaker 1: uh uh more ignorance with abruptness. You fight it off
- 21:14Speaker 1: with uh. I ain't got time. Statements I'll get with
- 21:17Speaker 1: you later. That's how you fight off ignorance. You fight
- 21:20Speaker 1: it off with more ignorance, instead of just sitting down
- 21:24Speaker 1: and looking up the word value proposition and see if
- 21:27Speaker 1: that word means something to you, See if that word
- 21:31Speaker 1: has been successful. Because she she coupled them into me.
- 21:34Speaker 1: She said, look, I think you could actually teach this
- 21:38Speaker 1: course based on what I know, you know and what
- 21:42Speaker 1: you have accomplished in life. But I couldn't teach the
- 21:46Speaker 1: course because I didn't know what value proposition was. I
- 21:51Speaker 1: didn't know how to apply. What was so special about me?
- 21:55Speaker 1: What was your what was so unique about me? When
- 21:59Speaker 1: I look in my career, I understand the uniqueness because
- 22:03Speaker 1: there's so many lanes of success. But what I didn't
- 22:06Speaker 1: know was how was I achieving that success? How was
- 22:10Speaker 1: I achieving that success as an employee? How was I
- 22:13Speaker 1: achieving this sec to get a raise? How was I
- 22:16Speaker 1: achieving that success to get promoted? That's where the value
- 22:20Speaker 1: proposition comes in. And I didn't understand that. So guess
- 22:24Speaker 1: what I was like, Well, I don't feel like talking, honey,
- 22:27Speaker 1: get with me later, So I'm telling you to stop that.
- 22:34Speaker 1: When I was when I was twenty one years old,
- 22:38Speaker 1: I was doing value proposition and didn't even know it.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Let me get an example. When I was hard that
- 22:45Speaker 1: I be am in college. I left a full time
- 22:49Speaker 1: job because I was wanted to go and just be
- 22:52Speaker 1: a college student. I wanted to focus on my education
- 22:55Speaker 1: where they told me you could only work here for
- 22:58Speaker 1: one semester. I had other job options that didn't have
- 23:01Speaker 1: that restriction. They say, you can work here as long
- 23:02Speaker 1: as you want.
- 23:03Speaker 3: You're really good.
- 23:04Speaker 1: We want to bring in smart minded people like you.
- 23:08Speaker 3: You just do it.
- 23:09Speaker 1: But I saw that big blue on my resume. I
- 23:12Speaker 1: feel that would look good working forum. That would look good.
- 23:17Speaker 1: But they told me you could only work one semester.
- 23:20Speaker 1: So what I did was I started working and I
- 23:25Speaker 1: started getting to know it's called relationships, finding my voice.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I started finding my voice. I started finding it. At
- 23:34Speaker 1: the time, I didn't know that was my value proper position,
- 23:37Speaker 1: finding out what was unique, finding out what I was
- 23:40Speaker 1: going to offer to my fellow co workers that no
- 23:43Speaker 1: one else was going to offer. So I went to
- 23:46Speaker 1: them and I asked them what didn't they want to do?
- 23:52Speaker 1: And they told me, and I said, I do it.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I went to twenty people on that floor It was
- 23:59Speaker 1: a big old floor just in Houston, Texas, and I
- 24:04Speaker 1: took all of their work that they didn't want to
- 24:06Speaker 1: do because I had to. Underbeknownst some myd's strategy, I
- 24:12Speaker 1: was just doing something I thought that the time, which
- 24:13Speaker 1: is common sense, but at the time was value proposition.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I was creating a unique workspace for me that nobody
- 24:21Speaker 1: else wanted to do what I did, So I was
- 24:28Speaker 1: doing everybody's work. So guess what I did it in September.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I did it in October. Come mid November, I started
- 24:39Speaker 1: letting them know. Guess what, I'll be gone in December.
- 24:43Speaker 1: They're only going to keep me for one semester. Now,
- 24:49Speaker 1: according to this program, they had never ever kept anybody
- 24:54Speaker 1: beyond one semester. But little I know at the time,
- 24:59Speaker 1: I was e that society my value proposition. I was
- 25:02Speaker 1: creating a unique space. I was creating a market share
- 25:07Speaker 1: on that floor that nobody else was doing.
- 25:12Speaker 3: So guess what.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I stayed there two and a half years because my
- 25:17Speaker 1: value proposition that I created was unique and nobody else
- 25:24Speaker 1: could do it but me. Did I get paid extra money?
- 25:29Speaker 3: No?
- 25:30Speaker 1: But I got to work there for another two years.
- 25:34Speaker 1: And that's all I'm saying in this conversation, if you
- 25:36Speaker 1: hear me clearly on this, hear this, it's time for
- 25:41Speaker 1: you to understand. If you are not reaching your dreams,
- 25:47Speaker 1: why not. Me needs to be put on your mirror
- 25:49Speaker 1: every day so you canna understand that that's what you
- 25:52Speaker 1: want to do now. If you don't have a plan,
- 25:55Speaker 1: please put a plan in place, prepare, learn, or just navigate.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Don't let age be an excuse. I don't care if
- 26:03Speaker 1: you're nineteen, I don't care if you're sixty five. Do
- 26:05Speaker 1: not let age be an excuse. You find your voice
- 26:09Speaker 1: by talking to positive people. You do not find your
- 26:12Speaker 1: voice sharing bad ideas with other negative people. Stay away
- 26:19Speaker 1: from negative people. See I just said, don't talk to
- 26:22Speaker 1: negative people. Stay away from negative people. Negative people will
- 26:26Speaker 1: not help you find your voice. Set your goals, which.
- 26:30Speaker 3: I did not do. Immediately. When you're hired with.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Your supervisor, I don't care if you're working for a
- 26:35Speaker 1: fast food restaurant. I don't care if you're working for
- 26:37Speaker 1: a fortune five hundred company. Go in that office, say
- 26:40Speaker 1: thank you for hiring me. What do you want me
- 26:42Speaker 1: to do? Don't be afraid of the work responsibility. That
- 26:46Speaker 1: person's going to introduce in your life. But that's why
- 26:48Speaker 1: you got hired. You can't set goals or put a
- 26:51Speaker 1: plan in place if you don't know what they aspect
- 26:54Speaker 1: of you. Don't wait around for an opportunity, just do it,
- 27:00Speaker 1: and we all know what that slogan is associated with.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I've said this earlier. Not all opportunities when you're building
- 27:09Speaker 1: your value proposition comes with a check to finally know
- 27:15Speaker 1: your work environment. That's what I'm talking about today, That's
- 27:19Speaker 1: what I wanted to talk about today, and hopefully I
- 27:21Speaker 1: achieved that with everybody who's listened to the show today
- 27:24Speaker 1: in this first half hour. The first half hour is
- 27:27Speaker 1: about tapping you on your shoulder and letting you know
- 27:30Speaker 1: that your greatness can be achieved by your own personal effort,
- 27:34Speaker 1: but it also can be not achieved by your own
- 27:38Speaker 1: lack of effort, and the lack of effort is always
- 27:42Speaker 1: tied to your plan, because if you don't have a plan,
- 27:46Speaker 1: you will never ever set a goal, and if you
- 27:50Speaker 1: don't achieve a goal, you will not win.
- 27:54Speaker 5: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 27:57Speaker 5: money making conversations.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Masterclass
