- 0:01Speaker 1: Do you have any medical advice many Americans out there
- 0:03Speaker 1: that are suffering from a very serious helmet called chunk
- 0:06Speaker 1: arrangement syndrome.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I am concerned about folks who have focused their entire
- 0:12Speaker 2: life energy on dislike of the president. It's disheartening to
- 0:15Speaker 2: see people lost in that way. But you know, it's nice.
- 0:21Speaker 2: It's treating stupid. It's really hard.
- 0:23Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Good Wednesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:29Speaker 1: the forty seven Morning Updating. We've got two very big
- 0:32Speaker 1: stories for you. Pride Month. It's something that corporate America
- 0:36Speaker 1: has been forced to celebrate, and if you didn't, well,
- 0:39Speaker 1: the LGBTQ plus activist community was coming after you and
- 0:43Speaker 1: your business. Well, this year, Pride Month looks very different
- 0:46Speaker 1: for some major brands, and we're going to explain exactly
- 0:49Speaker 1: what's happening. Plus, more than one state in America has
- 0:53Speaker 1: decided to change exactly what they're celebrating in their state
- 0:56Speaker 1: when it comes to Pride Month, and it's not.
- 0:58Speaker 2: In the LGBTQ community.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It's actually in faith, family and freedom and celebrating this
- 1:04Speaker 1: great country we live in, especially with our two hundred
- 1:07Speaker 1: and fiftieth birthday.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So what are they doing differently? We have that as well.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Now, before we get to that, I want to talk
- 1:13Speaker 1: to you about your cell phone service and how with
- 1:15Speaker 1: every call you make and with every text you send,
- 1:18Speaker 1: you can be standing up for the values you believe in.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And the company that allows you to do that is
- 1:23Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile. Every day Americans make choices that shape our
- 1:27Speaker 1: country's future, right down to which cell phone provider we support.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Here's what most people don't actually realize. Patriot Mobile isn't
- 1:36Speaker 1: just a wireless provider. They're an activist organization funded by
- 1:40Speaker 1: selling top tier self service. They've been on the front
- 1:44Speaker 1: lines defending our freedoms long before it was cool, standing
- 1:47Speaker 1: up and the gap when others wouldn't. The best part
- 1:51Speaker 1: is they deliver prioritized premium service on all three major
- 1:56Speaker 1: US networks, giving you the same or even better coverage
- 2:00Speaker 1: backed by one hundred percent US based customer support. You
- 2:04Speaker 1: get unlimited data, mobile hotspots, international roaming, and so much more.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But when you switch to Patriot Mobile, that's what I
- 2:11Speaker 1: love the most. You'll help grow a movement that fuels
- 2:14Speaker 1: the Christian Conservative cause. Every bill you pay helps advance
- 2:19Speaker 1: the values of faith, family, and freedom, and switching is
- 2:22Speaker 1: easier than ever. You can literally activate in minutes, keep
- 2:26Speaker 1: your number, keep your phone, or upgrade. So go to
- 2:30Speaker 1: Patriotmobile dot com slash verdict and you are going to
- 2:34Speaker 1: get a free month of service with a promo code vertict.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Or you can call them nine to seven to two Patriot.
- 2:42Speaker 1: That's nine seven to two Patriot nine seven to two Patriot.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Or call them and go online at Patriot Mobile dot
- 2:51Speaker 1: com slash verdict promo code vertict for a free month
- 2:54Speaker 1: of service. Make the switch and make a difference every
- 2:57Speaker 1: time you pay your bill. It's a forty seven morning
- 2:59Speaker 1: update and it starts right now.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 3:03Speaker 1: You may know that June is the month of Pride.
- 3:07Speaker 1: We have been told that you must celebrate Pride month
- 3:10Speaker 1: and if you don't, then you are a bigot. You
- 3:13Speaker 1: are anti LGBTQIA plus plus and whatever they've decided to
- 3:19Speaker 1: change it into. Now, well, there does seem to be
- 3:23Speaker 1: a changing in this story after years of companies bowing
- 3:29Speaker 1: down to the woke, radical left and just saying you
- 3:32Speaker 1: tell us what we need to celebrate, will do it,
- 3:35Speaker 1: will paint whatever rainbows you want. Us to paint, will
- 3:38Speaker 1: celebrate with special logos and emails and Pride literally at
- 3:44Speaker 1: paraphernalia in the front of our stores. We now may
- 3:48Speaker 1: be seeing a course correction. NFL is a great place
- 3:52Speaker 1: to start. The social media accounts, for the first time
- 3:56Speaker 1: in years, pasted on celebrating.
- 3:58Speaker 2: The first day of Pride Month.
- 4:01Speaker 1: They had been one of the lookest organizations with pressure
- 4:04Speaker 1: from the LGBTQI plus community, but now the National Football
- 4:09Speaker 1: League's official social media accounts looked on a pass when
- 4:14Speaker 1: it came to celebrating the first day of Pride Month
- 4:17Speaker 1: June first. Yes, it's a month long recognition that we
- 4:20Speaker 1: have in this country and in many parts of the world. Now,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I also want you to think about in comparing contrast
- 4:27Speaker 1: other incredible days that don't get even a week.
- 4:30Speaker 2: They get a day. You'll get Veterans Day.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You look at Memorial Day, you look at Labor Day,
- 4:36Speaker 1: you look at any other thing like Christmas. There's just
- 4:38Speaker 1: a day. It is not a month. But Pride Month
- 4:41Speaker 1: has to be an entire month. Well, a lapse is
- 4:46Speaker 1: not exactly surprising. Well, most of its teams and I'm
- 4:49Speaker 1: referring to the NFL, have gone in the past all
- 4:52Speaker 1: in for Pride Month. The league itself has not mentioned
- 4:56Speaker 1: it since twenty twenty three when it launched it Football
- 5:00Speaker 1: Is for Everyone campaign. This is coming from the New
- 5:03Speaker 1: York Post now. Still, the league did issue a statement
- 5:07Speaker 1: to press reassuring its support for LGBT community, saying this
- 5:13Speaker 1: Pride Month is recognized throughout June, and the NFL will
- 5:15Speaker 1: continue to highlight and amplify Pride related content, community initiatives
- 5:20Speaker 1: and celebrations taking place across the league. The NFL went
- 5:24Speaker 1: on to say, throughout the month, we look forward to
- 5:26Speaker 1: opportunities to showcase the work of the NFL our clubs, players, partners,
- 5:30Speaker 1: and community organizations supporting LGBTQ plus communities. Now, last year,
- 5:36Speaker 1: twelve NFL teams failed as the liberal media put it
- 5:40Speaker 1: to mention Pride Month as June kicked off. By the way,
- 5:44Speaker 1: that wasn't by accident. So far this month, only nine
- 5:48Speaker 1: teams have not posted a celebratory message for Pride Month,
- 5:51Speaker 1: many of them taking so much eat over last year.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Those teams right now include the New York Jets, the
- 5:56Speaker 1: Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Bengal, the Tennessee Titans,
- 6:01Speaker 1: the Kansas City Chiefs, the Las Vegas Against Raiders, the
- 6:04Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys, and the New Orleans Saints.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Obviously that could change.
- 6:09Speaker 1: But if you look at what the NFL is doing here, yes,
- 6:12Speaker 1: they're clearly trying to play politics. You could even argue
- 6:14Speaker 1: to try to play both sides of this. But what
- 6:19Speaker 1: we are seeing is a month seems to be a
- 6:22Speaker 1: moment now that people are saying, really, we need an
- 6:25Speaker 1: entire month to celebrate this, and if you don't do it,
- 6:30Speaker 1: then what happens, Well, maybe not as much as we
- 6:33Speaker 1: thought in the past. We also know that some of
- 6:37Speaker 1: the pride excitement may be dying down. Another example of
- 6:40Speaker 1: that is Phoenix. Phoenix Pride, which is a prominent organization
- 6:45Speaker 1: behind Arizona's largest LGBTQ plus gathering, announced on the eve
- 6:51Speaker 1: of Pride Month that it is now filed for bankruptcy.
- 6:55Speaker 1: The filing, submitted Thursday in the US Bankruptcy Court in
- 6:58Speaker 1: the District of Arizona showed that Phoenix Pride was seeking
- 7:01Speaker 1: Chapter eleven bankruptcy protection, allowing time, they say, to continue
- 7:06Speaker 1: operations while restructuring its debt under court supervision. The Tucson
- 7:11Speaker 1: Sentinel is reporting the organization's board of directors said in
- 7:14Speaker 1: a press release that the decision was not made quote
- 7:17Speaker 1: lightly rising. They said, operational costs, economic uncertainty, shifts in
- 7:21Speaker 1: sponsorship again, shifts in sponsorship and fundraising, partly due to
- 7:29Speaker 1: the current political climate and administration, and increasing demand on
- 7:32Speaker 1: nonprofit organizations have created circumstances we can no longer navigate alone.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Like many Pride.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Organizations and LGBTQ plus nonprofits across the country, Phoenix Pride
- 7:43Speaker 1: is faced mounting financial pressures that threaten our long term sustainability.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Now you look at what they just said in that statement,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and what they're telling you is is they're not the
- 7:53Speaker 1: only Pride organization in the country that's struggling right now.
- 7:57Speaker 1: The local publication also noted that the Phoenix Pride financial
- 8:00Speaker 1: woes come just months after Tucson Pride shut down, fallowing
- 8:04Speaker 1: years of financial strain, and, of course, as they described it,
- 8:07Speaker 1: leadership problems. They say the sequence of events raises new
- 8:11Speaker 1: questions about the sustainability of some of the state's largest
- 8:14Speaker 1: LGBTQ plus organizations as they navigate what they describe as
- 8:19Speaker 1: rising costs, budget issues, internal struggles, and then even community trust.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Phoenix Pride said, filing Chapter eleven gives the organization the
- 8:28Speaker 1: opportunity to reorganize its finances while continuing to operate. Now,
- 8:33Speaker 1: you put all this into perspective, and here's what it
- 8:36Speaker 1: really boils down to. These Pride organizations were able to
- 8:41Speaker 1: blackmail in essence corporations and donors to give to them,
- 8:46Speaker 1: and if they didn't, then they were going to out
- 8:49Speaker 1: them and say they are anti LGBTQ. Plus, Now what
- 8:54Speaker 1: we're seeing is maybe many of these organizations are more
- 8:58Speaker 1: willing to say, hey, we're not going to be held
- 9:00Speaker 1: hostage and we're not going to put our money towards
- 9:03Speaker 1: Pride Month the way that you guys expect us to
- 9:06Speaker 1: in the past. There is also the politics of this,
- 9:10Speaker 1: which is also very very very interesting. Now, story number two,
- 9:14Speaker 1: the Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders officially proclaimed June is
- 9:18Speaker 1: Fidelity Month, encouraging people in Arkansas to focus on fidelity
- 9:23Speaker 1: to God, family, community, and country. And her proclamation, Sanders
- 9:28Speaker 1: pointed to America's founding principles of faith, liberty, and patriotism
- 9:33Speaker 1: and encourage residents to renew their commitment to those values. Now,
- 9:37Speaker 1: notice she's saying, we're going to have a month for family,
- 9:40Speaker 1: a month for God, a month for community, a month
- 9:42Speaker 1: for country. What an amazing idea and proclamations specifically highlight
- 9:47Speaker 1: the importance of commitment to face, strong families, civic responsibility,
- 9:52Speaker 1: and moral virtue. It argues that cultivating fidelity to God, family, community,
- 9:57Speaker 1: and country will contribute to a healthy and stable society. Now,
- 10:01Speaker 1: clearly this is a one point eighty when it comes
- 10:04Speaker 1: to what Pride Month actually is. And let's be honest,
- 10:07Speaker 1: this is about much more than a proclamation. What Arkansas
- 10:10Speaker 1: is doing is reflecting a much broader trend happening across
- 10:14Speaker 1: the country. Many Americans, putting it bluntly, have grown tired
- 10:18Speaker 1: of having every institution in their lives become politicized. They
- 10:21Speaker 1: want schools focused on education. They want businesses focus on
- 10:25Speaker 1: serving customers. They want sports franchises focus on competition, and increasingly,
- 10:30Speaker 1: they want government leaders focus on strengthening families and our
- 10:34Speaker 1: communities and also faith based institutions rather than engaging in
- 10:38Speaker 1: cultural war symbolism. And that's why Sara Huckabee Sanders as
- 10:43Speaker 1: the governor of Arkansas and having this proclamation is generating
- 10:46Speaker 1: so much attention. She essentially is saying that instead of
- 10:50Speaker 1: dedicating June to identity politics, Arkansas will dedicate June to
- 10:56Speaker 1: what she' views as the foundational institutions that holds to
- 11:00Speaker 1: society together, faith, family, community, and country. Now, whether you
- 11:04Speaker 1: agree or disagree with what the message is here, there's
- 11:07Speaker 1: no question it represents a dramatic shift from where America
- 11:11Speaker 1: was just a few years ago, and Arkansas isn't alone.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Other Republican led states are promoting similar themes. Tennessee, where
- 11:20Speaker 1: I was born, they have highlighted the importance of the
- 11:22Speaker 1: nuclear family, while several governors have emphasized traditional family structures
- 11:27Speaker 1: and faith based values as alternatives to the cultural messaging
- 11:32Speaker 1: typically associated with Pride Month. The larger story here isn't
- 11:36Speaker 1: simply about Pride Month. It's about a growing movement among
- 11:39Speaker 1: millions of Americans who feel that the country drifted too
- 11:43Speaker 1: far away from the values that built strong communities in
- 11:47Speaker 1: the first place. They believe strong families matter, they believe
- 11:50Speaker 1: faith matters, they believe patriotism matters, and they believe that
- 11:55Speaker 1: those values deserve public celebration too, and shouldn't be hidden
- 11:59Speaker 1: any longer. Governor Sanders' message is essentially an invitation for
- 12:03Speaker 1: Arkansas to spend June strengthening their marriages, spending time with
- 12:07Speaker 1: their children, serving their communities, and attending church, and reflecting
- 12:12Speaker 1: on the responsibility as citizens in the great state of
- 12:14Speaker 1: Arkansas and in the United States of America. And to supporters,
- 12:18Speaker 1: let me just say this, this is a refreshing change.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Of course, critics are going to lose their minds. It's
- 12:24Speaker 1: a political statement aimed directly at Pride Month. They're going
- 12:27Speaker 1: to say that your bigots or racists or homophobes or
- 12:30Speaker 1: whatever else they want to call you. But regardless of
- 12:33Speaker 1: where you stand, there is one thing that's undeniable. June
- 12:37Speaker 1: in twenty twenty six looks very different than June and
- 12:40Speaker 1: twenty twenty. Corporate enthusiasm has cooled, the political momentum has shifted,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and in states like Arkansas and Tennessee, leaders are openly
- 12:50Speaker 1: championing an alternative vision centered on faith, family, and traditional values.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Now you put this into perspective with it what President
- 12:59Speaker 1: Trump is now doing. We're approaching the incredible two hundred
- 13:03Speaker 1: fiftieth birthday of the greatest country in the world, and
- 13:06Speaker 1: what we're witnessing is a major cultural debate unfolding in
- 13:09Speaker 1: real time, something that President Trump clearly wanted. One vision
- 13:13Speaker 1: emphasizes identity and self expression. The other emphasizes duty, commitment,
- 13:20Speaker 1: faith and family. And if Arkansas is any indication, many
- 13:24Speaker 1: Americans are increasingly choosing the latter. And that's why this
- 13:28Speaker 1: year's Pride Month story isn't just about pride. It's about
- 13:32Speaker 1: a country that is reassessing its priorities, rediscovering our roots,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and asking a fundamental question, what value should define the
- 13:41Speaker 1: next chapter of the American story.
