Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Illegal Orders or Political Theater? Democrats Urge Troops to Defy Trump
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: So Democrats have urged military members to reject unlawful orders
- 0:10Speaker 1: in a new video. I just want you to let
- 0:13Speaker 1: that set in for just a moment. Just think about
- 0:16Speaker 1: what I just said. Democrats are now urging military members
- 0:21Speaker 1: to go rogue to reject orders coming from Donald Trump. Now,
- 0:25Speaker 1: of course, they disguise us under the idea of rejecting quote,
- 0:29Speaker 1: unlawful orders. In this new video, we're talking about legitimate
- 0:34Speaker 1: members of Congress. Senator Mark Kelly, for example, join another
- 0:40Speaker 1: senator and four House members to release a one minute
- 0:44Speaker 1: video urging US troops and intelligence personnel to refuse what
- 0:51Speaker 1: they describe as illegal orders and consult legal advisors. Many
- 0:55Speaker 1: in the group, like the former CIA analysts who's now
- 0:58Speaker 1: turned Senator Slotken, drew from their own service experience to
- 1:04Speaker 1: stress loyalty to the Constitution over any individual. President Donald
- 1:08Speaker 1: Trump has called the message sedition and demanded arrests. Legal
- 1:13Speaker 1: experts note it aligns with military law requiring obedience only
- 1:18Speaker 1: two lawful commands. The exchange underscores the ongoing concern by
- 1:23Speaker 1: many conservatives of a radical left that is now basically
- 1:27Speaker 1: advocating for a coup attempt. What's even more crazy than
- 1:32Speaker 1: this is the fact that now that Democrats who are
- 1:35Speaker 1: in the video are having to defend the video, they
- 1:39Speaker 1: sound even more unhinged than the video originally. JD Vance
- 1:44Speaker 1: putting this out earlier, saying, quote, if the president has
- 1:47Speaker 1: an issue to llegal orders, the members of Congress telling
- 1:51Speaker 1: the military defy the president is by definition illegal. This
- 1:56Speaker 1: after the Senator Slow can It admitted Democrats lied about
- 2:02Speaker 1: President Trump using illegal orders to the military. ABC News
- 2:06Speaker 1: asking the question earlier, and I want you to hear
- 2:10Speaker 1: what they had to say on the Sunday Morning shows
- 2:12Speaker 1: when they were asked a simple question about the order.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Let's talk right now. Do you believe President Trump has
- 2:19Speaker 2: issued any illegal orders?
- 2:22Speaker 3: To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that
- 2:25Speaker 3: are illegal, but certainly there are some legal gymnastics that
- 2:28Speaker 3: are going on with these Caribbean strikes and everything related
- 2:31Speaker 3: to Venezuela.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Okay, So she just said the answer is no, right,
- 2:37Speaker 1: like the answer is no. To my knowledge, I'm not
- 2:39Speaker 1: aware of things that are legal. So then why would
- 2:41Speaker 1: you join a video, a psychotic, crazy video saying that
- 2:46Speaker 1: you have an obligation, that you have a duty that
- 2:49Speaker 1: you must follow the law and defy the president of
- 2:54Speaker 1: the United States of America. Now you know this guy,
- 2:59Speaker 1: Mark Kelly. He said, Trump essentially said loyalty to the
- 3:02Speaker 1: Constitution is punishable by death. Those are dangerous words, he says,
- 3:06Speaker 1: coming from the President of United States of America. And
- 3:08Speaker 1: then he said, I'm not going to be intimidated, even
- 3:11Speaker 1: though he's the one that put out a video without
- 3:13Speaker 1: any evidence backing that there was any illegal orders ever
- 3:19Speaker 1: given by the President of the United States America. Glenn
- 3:23Speaker 1: Beck also putting out earlier today and the President retweeting
- 3:27Speaker 1: it or retruthing it. Glenn Beck said, this is the
- 3:30Speaker 1: law real Donald Trump is looking for eighteen USC. Twenty
- 3:35Speaker 1: three eighty seven Activities Affecting Armed Forces General. The statue
- 3:39Speaker 1: makes it a federal crime to do any of the
- 3:41Speaker 1: following with the intent to interfere with US military operations.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Number one. Advise urge or attempt to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny,
- 3:55Speaker 1: or refusal of duty among members of the US military.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Number two, Obstruct or attempt to obstruct recruiting, enlistment, or
- 4:06Speaker 1: general military operations. Number three Distribute written materials advocating any
- 4:12Speaker 1: of the above. This law does not require advocating the
- 4:16Speaker 1: overthrow of the government. That is S Twenty three eighty five.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Section twenty three eighty seven is specifically about undermine the
- 4:25Speaker 1: functions or the functioning of the US military. Now, Donald
- 4:31Speaker 1: Trump reposted that, why because it's very clear this video
- 4:34Speaker 1: was meant to do exactly that. So now you look
- 4:39Speaker 1: at where we are. You have a president that is
- 4:43Speaker 1: having to deal with members of Congress coming out and
- 4:48Speaker 1: saying very clearly that the president of the United States
- 4:52Speaker 1: of America, you should stop listening to him, disobey him,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and do everything in your power to stop him. Now,
- 5:02Speaker 1: this is also coming from a former CIA now turn senator.
- 5:07Speaker 1: She's defending her trees as call for service members to
- 5:10Speaker 1: find Trump's illegal orders by invoking the movie I'm not
- 5:13Speaker 1: joking a few good men with Tom Cruise as an
- 5:17Speaker 1: example of consequences troops could face. I'm not joking. She
- 5:21Speaker 1: actually said this. How do I know it? Well, we're
- 5:24Speaker 1: going to play the tape for you. Now, it is.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Very clear that no one should follow an illegal order,
- 5:30Speaker 2: But it's very murky when you look at what is
- 5:33Speaker 2: an illegal order, and if you go into morally ethically,
- 5:37Speaker 2: that's a pretty tough thing to look at and say
- 5:39Speaker 2: how do I navigate this?
- 5:42Speaker 4: Uh? I don't.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I mean, look, if you're going back to Nuremberg, right that, well,
- 5:45Speaker 3: they told me to do it.
- 5:45Speaker 4: That's why I murdered people. Is not an excuse. If
- 5:48Speaker 4: you look at.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Popular culture, there's like you watch you know a few
- 5:52Speaker 3: good men like We have plenty of examples since World
- 5:54Speaker 3: War Two in Vietnam where people were told to follow
- 5:58Speaker 3: illegal orders and they did it and they were prosecuted
- 6:01Speaker 3: for it. So the best thing for people to do
- 6:03Speaker 3: is go to their jag officer, their local law enforcement
- 6:06Speaker 3: or a legal officer in their unit and ask for
- 6:10Speaker 3: some explanation, ask for help.
- 6:11Speaker 4: And that's what we've been advising people to do.
- 6:13Speaker 2: It is very clear that no one should follow an
- 6:16Speaker 2: illegal order.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I play the beginning there for you again, because it's
- 6:19Speaker 1: just amazing how simple the question was. And then she
- 6:23Speaker 1: literally because they know they're grasping a stralitary like they
- 6:26Speaker 1: made this crap up a they tried to overthrow the
- 6:30Speaker 1: president of United States of America with a military coup.
- 6:33Speaker 1: That's how I would describe it. This is where you
- 6:36Speaker 1: get yourself. Even Bill Maher is slamming Democrats for telling
- 6:40Speaker 1: military members they can disobey Trump administration orders. He said
- 6:45Speaker 1: on his show on HBO quote, once you say to
- 6:48Speaker 1: the military, you get to side as opposed to yes, sir, no, sir,
- 6:51Speaker 1: follow orders. It's a dangerous area. I could not agree with.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Bill Mahr Moore NBC News also on Meet the Press,
- 6:59Speaker 1: asking the same question Senator Klobachar about what has happened
- 7:04Speaker 1: here with her party and NBC Newo's asking this question.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Listen carefully, you know what the specific illegal acts are
- 7:12Speaker 5: that your Democratic colleagues were referring to there.
- 7:15Speaker 6: Well, it's very clear in this code for the military
- 7:19Speaker 6: that you cannot follow on lawful orders, and you know
- 7:24Speaker 6: that would be I'll just use an example. Some of
- 7:26Speaker 6: the judges have now found in certain cities that it
- 7:29Speaker 6: is not legal to send in the National Guard, and
- 7:32Speaker 6: those national Guard members have come home. Some of them
- 7:34Speaker 6: are still there. But if they're a commander, were to
- 7:37Speaker 6: tell him, hey, go out on the streets and do this,
- 7:39Speaker 6: and that that's not following the order that is in law.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I mean, you hear it there again, She's like, well,
- 7:48Speaker 1: national Guard troops being deployed, are you kidding me? The
- 7:51Speaker 1: president has the right to do that. The president has
- 7:55Speaker 1: the right to do that. This is now Amy Klobachar
- 7:59Speaker 1: saying that the President United States of America is someone
- 8:03Speaker 1: that you shouldn't listen to if you're a liberal in
- 8:04Speaker 1: the military, because we're saying don't follow any of his orders.
- 8:10Speaker 1: This goes back to the law that I read earlier
- 8:12Speaker 1: that put out by Glenn Beck that the President retweeted
- 8:14Speaker 1: explaining what laws you are breaking when you are doing
- 8:17Speaker 1: exactly this. You also have some of these other crazies,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and these are crazies. Did you see that gold just
- 8:26Speaker 1: hit an all time new high of over four thousand
- 8:30Speaker 1: dollars an ounce? And if you hear that and you're like,
- 8:33Speaker 1: are you kidding me? And you're thinking, gosh, I missed
- 8:36Speaker 1: my opportunity. Well, I don't know if you missed your opportunity,
- 8:39Speaker 1: but my friends at Kurt Elliott Precious Metals they can
- 8:42Speaker 1: answer that question for you. You also may not be
- 8:46Speaker 1: paying attention to the incredible gains with silver that are
- 8:49Speaker 1: happening right now as well. And that's why I trust
- 8:52Speaker 1: the guidance of the team at Kirk Elliott. In fact,
- 8:56Speaker 1: I literally just got a hundred ounce bar of silver
- 8:59Speaker 1: the other day. And the reason why is because after
- 9:02Speaker 1: I talk to the team at kirk Elliott Precious Metals,
- 9:05Speaker 1: they let me understand exactly where I could have a
- 9:08Speaker 1: big upside in investing in silver. Now, the other part
- 9:12Speaker 1: that I love about them is this they have transparent pricing.
- 9:16Speaker 1: There are a lot of gold companies that you'll hear
- 9:18Speaker 1: about if you listen to talk radio or podcasts or
- 9:21Speaker 1: watch TV, but do they tell you how the pricing
- 9:25Speaker 1: actually works well. At kirk Elliott, they're real simple, just
- 9:29Speaker 1: eight percent when you buy and zero commissions when you sell,
- 9:34Speaker 1: with no hidden fees. Ever, that is the other reason
- 9:37Speaker 1: why I recommend them to all of you. They also
- 9:40Speaker 1: don't sell you quote rare coins or precious coins that
- 9:44Speaker 1: you pay insane markups on and then when you go
- 9:47Speaker 1: to sell them you find out they're really not worth
- 9:49Speaker 1: that much. They are a bullyon only approach. They focus
- 9:53Speaker 1: on investment grade metals, no overpriced collectibles, no gimmicks. That
- 9:59Speaker 1: means you you'll get more gold or silver for your
- 10:02Speaker 1: money at fair value when it's time for you to sell.
- 10:06Speaker 1: So if you're ready to find out if gold and
- 10:09Speaker 1: silver is right for you and your portfolio, then call
- 10:12Speaker 1: them and get a plan you can visit them at
- 10:15Speaker 1: k e PM dot com slash ben that's k e
- 10:21Speaker 1: PM dot com slash ben or seven two zero six
- 10:26Speaker 1: oh five thirty nine hundred at seven two zero six
- 10:31Speaker 1: oh five thirty nine hundred Kirk Elliott Precious Metals online
- 10:36Speaker 1: at k e PM dot com. Let me give you
- 10:42Speaker 1: another example of the insanity CBS News calling out Congressman
- 10:47Speaker 1: Crow for what he had said in the video, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: I want you to hear this back and forth as well.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Let's get to the content of what you had in
- 10:56Speaker 5: that video you released, because there are also fifteen House
- 10:59Speaker 5: Report publicans who are also veterans who released a video,
- 11:02Speaker 5: including a retired three star Marine Corps General Jack Bergman.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Take a listen to this, troops, listen up.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Any service member who refuses a lawful order is subject
- 11:13Speaker 1: to court martial for violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
- 11:17Speaker 5: We study what's lawful and what's not lawful, and the
- 11:20Speaker 5: Democrats stunt insinuating that their illegal or unconstitutional orders.
- 11:25Speaker 2: It's downright dangerous.
- 11:26Speaker 4: It is corrosive.
- 11:27Speaker 7: It is meant to weaken our country and weaken the military.
- 11:31Speaker 5: How do you respond to these allegations from your colleagues?
- 11:34Speaker 5: Fellow veterans that what you have put out there is
- 11:37Speaker 5: weakening and corrosive to the military.
- 11:38Speaker 7: Well, these, unfortunately, are some of Trump's core supporters that
- 11:42Speaker 7: are rallying behind the president, and they know better. They
- 11:45Speaker 7: know exactly the difference between lawful versus unlawful. We are
- 11:49Speaker 7: very clear in the video that we're talking about as
- 11:51Speaker 7: unlawful orders. You have the president's spokesperson going on into
- 11:57Speaker 7: a press conference this past week and saying that we
- 12:00Speaker 7: called for people to disobey lawful orders. They're simply lying
- 12:03Speaker 7: because the truth is unacceptable to them. It's unacceptable. We
- 12:08Speaker 7: wanted to start a conversation and we did about the
- 12:12Speaker 7: dangerous rhetoric this president is using and the threats that
- 12:15Speaker 7: he's made to use our military in an unlawful way.
- 12:19Speaker 7: Because what well, send troops into Chicago, send troops into
- 12:22Speaker 7: polling stations, kill terrorists, families, arrest and execute, arrest and
- 12:27Speaker 7: execute members of Congress.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I mean, this is they're just now making stuff up,
- 12:31Speaker 1: like just straight up making things up. Send troops in
- 12:34Speaker 1: a polling station, killed terrorists, families. Even CBS News responded
- 12:39Speaker 1: with quote, he hasn't done those things. This is what
- 12:42Speaker 1: a lunatic sounds like, so I can in vote Numberg.
- 12:46Speaker 1: By the way, in her defense of Democrats illegal orders,
- 12:50Speaker 1: and that's another example of the crazies here, she should
- 12:53Speaker 1: be how to count for this? Now, if you don't
- 12:55Speaker 1: know what the Numberg trials were, they were the trials
- 12:58Speaker 1: that happened for the Nazis that were killing millions of Jews,
- 13:04Speaker 1: right like war crimes, and the Nuremberg trials were to
- 13:07Speaker 1: hold those account about the highest levels underneath Hitler, who
- 13:12Speaker 1: said their excuses, we were just following orders exterminating six
- 13:15Speaker 1: million jews'. That's like, sorry, you should be held accountable
- 13:19Speaker 1: for that. That's what the Nuremberg trials were about. Well,
- 13:22Speaker 1: now you have this crazy former CIA person who is
- 13:26Speaker 1: invoking the Nuremberg in her defensive Democrats illegal orders videos.
- 13:30Speaker 1: And I didn't mention this earlier, so I'm going to
- 13:32Speaker 1: go back and want to play it for you again.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Listen carefully.
- 13:35Speaker 4: It is very.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Clear that no one should follow an illegal order, but
- 13:39Speaker 2: it's very murky when you look at what is an
- 13:42Speaker 2: illegal order, and if you go into morally ethically, that's
- 13:46Speaker 2: a pretty tough thing to look at and say, how
- 13:49Speaker 2: do I navigate this?
- 13:51Speaker 4: I don't.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I mean, look, you going back to Nuremberg, right that, Well,
- 13:54Speaker 3: they told me to do it.
- 13:54Speaker 4: That's why I murdered people. Is not an excuse.
- 13:58Speaker 1: She just compared p people that follow the rules or
- 14:02Speaker 1: the orders of the President of the United States of
- 14:05Speaker 1: America Donald Trump to those who followed the orders of
- 14:11Speaker 1: Adolph Hitler in Nuremberg trials. Like the level of psychoticness
- 14:23Speaker 1: by Democrats, and this is them, I would say telling you,
- 14:29Speaker 1: this is a coup. This is a soft coup attempt.
- 14:36Speaker 1: That is what this is. It is a soft coup attempt,
- 14:41Speaker 1: plain and simple. You're advocating and supporting and winking and
- 14:48Speaker 1: nodding and saying, hey, guys, do us all a favor here. Okay,
- 14:54Speaker 1: don't do what Donald Trump tells you to do. Just
- 14:57Speaker 1: don't do it. I just just straight up don't do it.
- 15:01Speaker 1: It's not worth it. If you don't like him, then
- 15:05Speaker 1: just just you know what I mean, just just don't
- 15:09Speaker 1: do it. If you don't if you want to get
- 15:12Speaker 1: rid of him, then to get rid of him. It's
- 15:16Speaker 1: I mean, it truly is incredible. Like for me, this
- 15:23Speaker 1: is phenomenal that we have this type and this isn't
- 15:27Speaker 1: a secret video they produced it, they put it out.
- 15:32Speaker 1: They decided to let the world see just how radical
- 15:35Speaker 1: and extreme they are. When they tell you how crazy
- 15:38Speaker 1: are I believe them, and by the way, some of them.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Let's also be clear, getting elected. Right now, you've had
- 15:43Speaker 1: two major cities that have elected full blown communists and
- 15:49Speaker 1: the last what six weeks. In the last six weeks,
- 15:54Speaker 1: So if you think that this is a one off
- 15:57Speaker 1: of where the party is, you're wrong. The Democratic Party
- 16:01Speaker 1: and how Dias my producer, I'm asking this sincerely, how
- 16:05Speaker 1: long have I been saying that the Democratic Party is dead,
- 16:08Speaker 1: that they're actually Marxist socialists and communists masquerading as Democrats.
- 16:14Speaker 1: When I started, he's just yelling at me. He's like,
- 16:16Speaker 1: you've been saying it for years. You were the first
- 16:18Speaker 1: person say it. And people, by the way, when I
- 16:19Speaker 1: said on TV, thought I was crazy. They're like, that's absurd,
- 16:22Speaker 1: that's a ludicrous something. No, No, the Democratic Party is dead.
- 16:25Speaker 1: They are there. These are Marxist socialists and communists who
- 16:29Speaker 1: know that America can't handle that yet nationwide, so they
- 16:33Speaker 1: lie and tell you they're a Democrat. Now we have
- 16:35Speaker 1: full blown socialists that aren't having a lot to you
- 16:37Speaker 1: in places like Portland, in Seattle, in New York City,
- 16:41Speaker 1: for example, you have declared socialists who are winning elections,
- 16:48Speaker 1: and socialists never respect the laws of the land. They
- 16:54Speaker 1: never have. They don't respect the laws of the land.
- 16:57Speaker 1: We all know they don't respect the laws of the land.
- 16:59Speaker 1: We know that. And they're saying no, no, no, We get
- 17:02Speaker 1: to do what we want to do when we want
- 17:04Speaker 1: to do it, however we want to do it, That's
- 17:07Speaker 1: what we do. It is truly sad, it's truly sick.
- 17:12Speaker 1: It's undermining our entire way of life. It's under my
- 17:15Speaker 1: our entire nation. They again, they don't care why because
- 17:25Speaker 1: they when they lose an election, this is what they do.
- 17:30Speaker 1: It is anarchy. John Fetterman, by the way, calling them
- 17:34Speaker 1: out again for this talking about just how insane we
- 17:37Speaker 1: are and just go back to the libel and slander
- 17:41Speaker 1: of the Democratic Party. I said this earlier today when
- 17:44Speaker 1: I was on I was on Fox and they asked
- 17:46Speaker 1: me about this. I want you to listen. I had
- 17:48Speaker 1: to say about all this with John Scott on Fox
- 17:51Speaker 1: News Channel about how disastrous this is. Yeah, it may
- 17:55Speaker 1: be one of the dumbest crosses that someone's gone to
- 17:57Speaker 1: die on politically that I've ever seen made out of
- 18:00Speaker 1: than they are created out of nothing, all because you
- 18:02Speaker 1: hate Donald Trump so much and you're trying to get
- 18:04Speaker 1: the military to an essence, have a coup against the
- 18:07Speaker 1: orders of the President of United States of America. I
- 18:10Speaker 1: understand they don't like Donald Trump. I, by the way,
- 18:12Speaker 1: didn't like Barack Obama very much, didn't like Joe Biden
- 18:15Speaker 1: very much. But never in my wildest dreams could I've
- 18:17Speaker 1: imagined any Republican putting out a video telling men and
- 18:22Speaker 1: women in uniform to defy the orders of the commander
- 18:25Speaker 1: in chief. I always root for my commander in chief,
- 18:28Speaker 1: the president units It's America, even when he's not in
- 18:30Speaker 1: my party, on issues of national security and foreign policy
- 18:34Speaker 1: that deal with people's lives. And what you have here
- 18:36Speaker 1: from Kelly and others is they decided we are going
- 18:40Speaker 1: to do a link in a nod to the men
- 18:42Speaker 1: and women in uniform saying do what we do, don't
- 18:45Speaker 1: abide by the laws, overthrow the will of the people,
- 18:48Speaker 1: try to undermine the President of the United States of America,
- 18:51Speaker 1: and were got your back if you decide to go rogue.
- 18:55Speaker 1: That is I get. I understand why the words treason
- 18:58Speaker 1: are being used here because when you're ask them, what
- 19:01Speaker 1: are you pointing to that the president did that made
- 19:04Speaker 1: you feel like we were at a crossroads where you
- 19:07Speaker 1: have to do this video, they point to nothing. This
- 19:10Speaker 1: goes exactly back to the democratic way of life. If
- 19:13Speaker 1: you don't like something in this country, they just say,
- 19:16Speaker 1: who cares what the rules are, whether it's going after
- 19:18Speaker 1: ice agents, whether it's having a wide open border, hell,
- 19:21Speaker 1: whether it's literally using a forklift to lift up razor
- 19:23Speaker 1: wire to let illegal immigrants into this country. They do
- 19:26Speaker 1: not respect the laws of the land. They do not
- 19:29Speaker 1: respect the laws of the land. That's what it boils
- 19:33Speaker 1: down to, all right. I want to bring something else
- 19:36Speaker 1: to your attention real quick, and it has to deal
- 19:38Speaker 1: with Ukraine and Russia. The war in Russia is continuing.
- 19:42Speaker 1: We are now seeing the president and our foreign policy
- 19:45Speaker 1: is changing pretty quickly based on the corruption that we
- 19:49Speaker 1: are now finding in Ukraine. By the way, if you
- 19:51Speaker 1: were listening to the show three years ago, I told
- 19:56Speaker 1: you about the meeting that I had with Victor Or,
- 20:00Speaker 1: who's the prime minister in charge of Hungary, and he
- 20:03Speaker 1: said to me, at the very beginning of this war,
- 20:07Speaker 1: if you think Russia in corruption is bad. You've seen
- 20:09Speaker 1: nothing until you look at what's going on Ukraine. I
- 20:13Speaker 1: was also told by his government. Then he said, you
- 20:14Speaker 1: guys don't understand when you're sending this money, it's not
- 20:17Speaker 1: going to help people in the war effort. It's going
- 20:19Speaker 1: to load the pockets of corrupt government officials under Zelenski
- 20:25Speaker 1: as well. He said, their families have already been sent
- 20:28Speaker 1: to Warsaw, their staying in five star hotels, and they're
- 20:31Speaker 1: blowing your cash. And when this happened, I came on
- 20:36Speaker 1: this show, and that was three years ago, and I
- 20:39Speaker 1: told you the story of what he said to me.
- 20:40Speaker 1: As we said on his balcony, he literally showed me
- 20:43Speaker 1: documents showing the amount of corruption in Ukraine, and he
- 20:47Speaker 1: was explaining to me the history of Ukraine corruption. And
- 20:51Speaker 1: his point was not backing Putin at all. He doesn't
- 20:56Speaker 1: like Vladimir Putin. He doesn't like the fact that he's
- 20:58Speaker 1: depending on Putin to keep the lights on with oil
- 21:00Speaker 1: and gas. But they're a landlocked country and so that's
- 21:04Speaker 1: the world he has to play in. But what I
- 21:07Speaker 1: learned from Victor Orban is that not everything is as
- 21:12Speaker 1: simple as okay. Russia's bad, Ukraine's good, therefore you back them. Well,
- 21:16Speaker 1: now we know because of this massive corruption scandal. And
- 21:20Speaker 1: by the way, this is not the first time this
- 21:21Speaker 1: has ever come out. We heard about kickbacks early on
- 21:25Speaker 1: in the war. Then there was another big kickback story
- 21:27Speaker 1: that happened not that long ago. I mean it's like
- 21:30Speaker 1: every six months another one comes out. Well, now what
- 21:33Speaker 1: we're hearing is there's a very good chance at arms
- 21:35Speaker 1: deal and an aid from the US to Ukraine may
- 21:38Speaker 1: be stopping soon because of all of this corruption. And
- 21:43Speaker 1: what it also means is guys like Zelensky have a
- 21:45Speaker 1: vested interest in keeping the war going because as long
- 21:48Speaker 1: as the war's going and they have all this coming
- 21:50Speaker 1: in from America, then they're making money off this war.
- 21:53Speaker 1: So there's no incentive to stop the war. You understand
- 21:56Speaker 1: why this is a very complicated issue, which brings me
- 22:01Speaker 1: to this newest headline coming out from the Telegraph right now.
- 22:04Speaker 1: It says, quote, Europe agrees to invite Vladimir Putin back
- 22:08Speaker 1: into the G eight, Moscow's return to world stage, and
- 22:14Speaker 1: cap on size of Ukrainian army, among concessions made in
- 22:18Speaker 1: a European counter deal Vladimir Putin could return to the
- 22:24Speaker 1: world stage under a European peace plan that agrees to
- 22:26Speaker 1: allow Russia back into the Gug eight. The offer was
- 22:30Speaker 1: made in a counterproposal to Donald Trump's twenty eight point plan,
- 22:33Speaker 1: which heavily favored Russia. The European plan contains several concessions,
- 22:39Speaker 1: including a cap of the size of the Ukrainian's army
- 22:42Speaker 1: and a commitment to elections that could see Zolensky removed
- 22:47Speaker 1: from power, a key demand of Moscow. Now, I think
- 22:50Speaker 1: if there is a free and fair election in Ukraine,
- 22:53Speaker 1: there's no doubt that Zolensky will be removed from power.
- 22:56Speaker 1: He has suspended all elections in the name of war.
- 22:59Speaker 1: That's a problem.
- 23:01Speaker 6: Now.
- 23:01Speaker 1: This all comes following an emergency summit in Geneva. Marco Rubio,
- 23:05Speaker 1: the Secretary of State, said on Sunday night that the
- 23:08Speaker 1: US was now making some changes to its peace plan.
- 23:13Speaker 1: That is an important moment that you need to just understand. Okay,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I'm going to say it again. Marco Rubio said the
- 23:21Speaker 1: said that the US was now quote making some changes
- 23:25Speaker 1: to its peace plan. He added, I think this is
- 23:29Speaker 1: a very very meaningful I would say probably best meeting
- 23:32Speaker 1: and day we've had so far in the entire process,
- 23:34Speaker 1: going back to when we first came into office. In January,
- 23:38Speaker 1: the counterproposal was published after the US President said Ukraine
- 23:41Speaker 1: had shown zero gratitude for American efforts to end the war. Now,
- 23:47Speaker 1: why would Zelenski not want to end the war because
- 23:50Speaker 1: he and his co arts are making millions off of
- 23:53Speaker 1: this war with corruption. Mister Trump has to sign off
- 23:57Speaker 1: on the deal, mister Rubio said. Russia, which has repeatedly
- 24:00Speaker 1: change its demands, also has to sign off on it
- 24:02Speaker 1: as well. But under the European Plan, Russia is to
- 24:06Speaker 1: be progressively reintegrated into the global economy. The plan adds
- 24:11Speaker 1: that the country could rejoin the G eight. The deal
- 24:15Speaker 1: also states that the size of Ukrainian military is to
- 24:18Speaker 1: be capped at eight hundred thousand in peacetime, whereas an
- 24:22Speaker 1: earlier version of the European plan included no cap. The
- 24:25Speaker 1: US Russia proposal asked for a six hundred thousand cap.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Trump's plan six hundred, European counter offer eight hundred. The
- 24:33Speaker 1: deal ads Ukraine will hold elections as soon as possible
- 24:36Speaker 1: after the signing of the peace agreement. Now the question
- 24:38Speaker 1: as soon as possible. What does that mean? Because Zelenski
- 24:40Speaker 1: does not want to have those elections because if he
- 24:42Speaker 1: does have those elections, the majority of people believe he
- 24:45Speaker 1: will be out of office so fast it won't even
- 24:47Speaker 1: be funny. Okay, So he has no interest vested interest
- 24:51Speaker 1: in a the war ending and B elections because if
- 24:55Speaker 1: there is an election, after so many soldiers have died
- 24:58Speaker 1: and the corruption around him, I cannot imagine he wins.
- 25:02Speaker 1: The deal also removes the clause that would give the
- 25:05Speaker 1: US fifty percent of future profits from Frozian Russian assets
- 25:10Speaker 1: invested in Ukraine. Now, the twenty eight point plan draws
- 25:14Speaker 1: up drawn up excuse me by the Americans, demanded that
- 25:18Speaker 1: Ukraine give up large tracts of land, including territory that
- 25:21Speaker 1: has not even been conquered by Russian forces. The European
- 25:26Speaker 1: counter proposal says that negotiations on territorial swaps will start
- 25:30Speaker 1: from the line of contact or the front line, so
- 25:33Speaker 1: that would change that as well. Now Trump's plan would
- 25:36Speaker 1: be this Crimea and other areas will be recognized as
- 25:42Speaker 1: the facto Russian, including by the United States of America.
- 25:46Speaker 1: That is part of the plan that's going to change
- 25:48Speaker 1: I'm okay with that, I want to be clear. But
- 25:51Speaker 1: the president put a plan together they thought he could
- 25:52Speaker 1: actually get done. Now we'll see how Russia responds. Europe's
- 25:57Speaker 1: counter offer commits no, commits not to recover its occupied
- 26:02Speaker 1: sovereign territory through military means. Negotiations on territorial swaps will
- 26:06Speaker 1: start from the line of contact, so that is a
- 26:08Speaker 1: big change. Now if proposed proposes that Ukraine should receive
- 26:14Speaker 1: a security guarantee in this as well from Washington, similar
- 26:18Speaker 1: to NATO's Article five clause. The Europeans went Russian sovereign
- 26:22Speaker 1: assets to remain frozen until Moscow pays compensation for the
- 26:26Speaker 1: immense damage its cause since its full scale invasion. The
- 26:30Speaker 1: counterplan was drawn up by Britain, Germany and France, the
- 26:34Speaker 1: so called European E three powers. Starmers spoke to mister
- 26:38Speaker 1: Trump on Sunday in degree that Ukraine was facing a
- 26:41Speaker 1: critical moment. A Downing Street spokesman also confirmed, saying quote
- 26:45Speaker 1: the leaders discussed various aspects of the high level discussions
- 26:49Speaker 1: taking place in Geneva today on the US peace plan
- 26:52Speaker 1: for Ukraine. They agreed that we all must work together
- 26:57Speaker 1: at this critical moment. To bring about a and lasting peace,
- 27:01Speaker 1: as it was called. Writing on his True Social Platform,
- 27:04Speaker 1: Trump said, Ukraine's leadership has expressed their gratitude for our efforts.
- 27:08Speaker 1: He also criticized Europe for not doing enough to end
- 27:10Speaker 1: the conflict. He did not criticize Moscow for invading Ukraine
- 27:14Speaker 1: in the first place. Liberals immediately pointed out and again,
- 27:17Speaker 1: the president's obviously trying to get a deal done with Russia,
- 27:20Speaker 1: so why would you point that out at this moment.
- 27:23Speaker 1: The twenty eight point proposal put forward by the term
- 27:25Speaker 1: administration has also been widely criticized by the left for
- 27:30Speaker 1: being far too favorable to Moscow. Again, the president understands
- 27:34Speaker 1: Moscow has the upper hand here, and this also has
- 27:37Speaker 1: now forced the EU to engage, which they weren't doing before.
- 27:41Speaker 1: That's a good thing, So we'll see what the final
- 27:44Speaker 1: deal actually looks like. But what this did do is
- 27:47Speaker 1: it brought France, Germany, the UK together very quickly, and
- 27:50Speaker 1: they realized that it was time for them to get
- 27:52Speaker 1: a deal done. Critics have said that this reads like
- 27:56Speaker 1: a wish list quote unquote for Putin. Again, this has
- 27:59Speaker 1: brought the u K and Germany and France into the
- 28:02Speaker 1: fold so if that means it's a better deal for
- 28:05Speaker 1: those in Ukraine, then great. I will go back to
- 28:09Speaker 1: the core point here. The president's clearly trying to get
- 28:12Speaker 1: the ball moving. He put out some deal points. Now
- 28:16Speaker 1: others are wanting to change some of those deal points.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Russia has changed, Ukraine has changed. This is an ongoing
- 28:21Speaker 1: negotiation that is very clear. But what this also says
- 28:27Speaker 1: is it the present was right. You got to get
- 28:29Speaker 1: something out there to start negotiating on, and so we
- 28:33Speaker 1: put together a hardcore plan to actually start negotiating on it.
- 28:38Speaker 1: What else could you ask for? Don't forget to share
