- 2:25Speaker 1: talk shows about entrepreneurship and entertainment. I provide the consumer
- 2:29Speaker 1: and business owner access to celebrities, CEOs, entrepreneurs and industry
- 2:33Speaker 1: decision makers. Then turn deliver information by career planning, motivation,
- 2:37Speaker 1: financial literacy, and how they lead a balance life my
- 2:40Speaker 1: next two guests. It all started in February seventeen, two
- 2:44Speaker 1: very talented NFL football players and a banker. Almost sounds
- 2:47Speaker 1: like a joke. Two dudes walking the ball, you know,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and I decided they wanted to open their own g
- 2:52Speaker 1: GS cupcake store. So the three but from the University
- 2:57Speaker 1: of Texas graduates. I'm from Houston, Texas, so I having
- 2:59Speaker 1: affinity to these Texas boys decided to start a business
- 3:03Speaker 1: plan to bring their own GS cupcake store to Austin, Texas,
- 3:06Speaker 1: which is natural. You know, go to your roots, go
- 3:08Speaker 1: to your basic your popularity. You have seen this dispair
- 3:12Speaker 1: on a very popular Microsoft Pro commercial. There's been in
- 3:16Speaker 1: heavy rotation than the NFL season in the playoffs. Please
- 3:19Speaker 1: work on the money making conversation the very talented former
- 3:22Speaker 1: teammates of the Tennessee Titans, Brian A. Rock Pole and
- 3:25Speaker 1: Michael Griffin. Hey, how do you do it? That's that's
- 3:32Speaker 1: a great introduction. Well, I have to because I'm excited about,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you know, entrepreneurs that shows about entrepreneurship is experience about
- 3:40Speaker 1: letting people know that you can reinvent yourself. And I
- 3:42Speaker 1: have a when they guests to come on this show,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and it's allowed me to meet a lot of influential people.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I consider you influential because of the fact that you're athletes.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And that's why I have to bring up the fact
- 3:52Speaker 1: that you're graduates of the University of Texas because a
- 3:54Speaker 1: lot of people don't especially African American athletes, they don't
- 3:57Speaker 1: see the educational component being successful in our lives. And
- 4:01Speaker 1: so when bringing on this show and being a young
- 4:03Speaker 1: entrepreneurs like I had just in a vun on the
- 4:05Speaker 1: show this past week and he was just talking about
- 4:07Speaker 1: after his six year in the league, he started looking
- 4:09Speaker 1: around in the locker room and people started disappearing, and
- 4:12Speaker 1: so he had to make a plan. And so now
- 4:14Speaker 1: he's opened up trampolines and musing the trampoline in the
- 4:17Speaker 1: state of New Jersey. Now your got your story and
- 4:20Speaker 1: I seek you guys out to be on my show,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and I'm so thankful you on my show. So tell
- 4:25Speaker 1: us about that relationship from that that transcended from the
- 4:29Speaker 1: football field to sitting in the restaurant talking about we
- 4:32Speaker 1: want to get in business together. Well, mat rac I
- 4:36Speaker 1: think he going up for not to each other story
- 4:37Speaker 1: better it was. It was pretty much his idea. I
- 4:40Speaker 1: was already kind of on the way on the outside,
- 4:42Speaker 1: just finished year ten. But I think Rat came pretty
- 4:45Speaker 1: much explain more what that, what happened with transpired that day.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Thank you. Yeah, we're uh, we're me were me grow.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Um we obviously played it together for a long time, sir.
- 4:57Speaker 1: We all started the very young one. We got to
- 5:00Speaker 1: the professional level. Um, we had the opportunity to play
- 5:03Speaker 1: together with the Tendency Titans when I signed over, but
- 5:06Speaker 1: we were both you know or their second shade um
- 5:10Speaker 1: getting posts. We're starting starting to think about our FoST career,
- 5:14Speaker 1: post life after football. You knew this, kids couldn't last forever.
- 5:17Speaker 1: We knew we can't playing at the high. We gotta
- 5:20Speaker 1: start thinking about what we're gonna do afterwards. So we
- 5:24Speaker 1: are only go every off season. I want to get
- 5:26Speaker 1: together with the Hunter prison's part in the Brier hands,
- 5:29Speaker 1: some very good friends. We always get together to just
- 5:31Speaker 1: come over with planks, so to come old idea of
- 5:33Speaker 1: what can you do? I point with our blanks together,
- 5:35Speaker 1: come over with some great events for long ideas around there,
- 5:38Speaker 1: you know around Texas and uh but long stomach short.
- 5:43Speaker 1: We were eating cupcakes at the time at that dinner
- 5:47Speaker 1: uh and and then was just a little through teams
- 5:50Speaker 1: that it came in my head and was my way grip,
- 5:52Speaker 1: let's let's let's do a Tec sametimes. I didn't know
- 5:55Speaker 1: they'll ever really touched me up to more. Kid, Let's
- 5:58Speaker 1: go away reach out, um, let's see what the great
- 6:02Speaker 1: thing was obviously exciting and that's you have to the
- 6:09Speaker 1: sess business fro ground Duncer in the very successful Awesome.
- 6:14Speaker 1: So let me remind everybody to Tennessee Titan football team
- 6:17Speaker 1: is based in Nashville, Tennessee. And uh so that's why
- 6:25Speaker 1: we were able to get a contact with them, pass
- 6:28Speaker 1: and get this thing going. Okay cool. Now here's the
- 6:30Speaker 1: thought process. You have subways out there, you have uh
- 6:34Speaker 1: you have uh Jersey Mix, you have all these different
- 6:39Speaker 1: places that you can dunk and don't utch franchises. Why
- 6:43Speaker 1: gig cupcakes? Cupcakes? There you go when you talking to
- 6:51Speaker 1: you talking to the baker. Now, I I bake. I
- 6:53Speaker 1: just finished my big U baking program. Or I searched
- 6:56Speaker 1: for the top bakers around the country every every eight months.
- 6:59Speaker 1: So I'm a fan of you openings cupcake. But why
- 7:03Speaker 1: you know, for the s of a business person, you know,
- 7:05Speaker 1: I just want to wrap that is because they always say,
- 7:08Speaker 1: if you're gonna invest in stock, invest in stock that
- 7:11Speaker 1: you buy that you're using your personal life. If you
- 7:13Speaker 1: go to home depot and that's where you don't that's
- 7:16Speaker 1: the stock you should buy if that's the place you go.
- 7:17Speaker 1: So it's because you like the GGS brand, is would
- 7:21Speaker 1: lead to the investment opportunity idea, Well, then you gotta
- 7:25Speaker 1: look at like this, what is one thing, no matter
- 7:28Speaker 1: no matter what happens each and every day, what is
- 7:30Speaker 1: something that every year something comes around and it's your birthday,
- 7:34Speaker 1: and you know the way that you celebrate your birthday
- 7:37Speaker 1: is always a cake or to take wherever it is
- 7:39Speaker 1: you go to. You go to a restaurant, you ask
- 7:41Speaker 1: and can I see a dessert menu? It's it's not
- 7:43Speaker 1: significant other, it's my daughter, whoever it may be, it's
- 7:46Speaker 1: their birthday, and you always see, is there some type
- 7:48Speaker 1: of cake that I can put a candle in, whoever
- 7:51Speaker 1: it may be, and the one thing And in going
- 7:54Speaker 1: through and developing and looking at this whole process, we
- 7:58Speaker 1: we looked in at an area where that's very highly
- 8:01Speaker 1: populated with a lot of families, a lot of a
- 8:03Speaker 1: lot of stay at home mothers who pretty much you know,
- 8:06Speaker 1: run the household. And I think, uh, Brian Inston Brown
- 8:10Speaker 1: Rapport chose a very great developing area that's developing. I
- 8:14Speaker 1: mean people think Austin's probably within the top five growing
- 8:18Speaker 1: cities and special in the area. Sooner or later that
- 8:20Speaker 1: Wenna have to build more schools. I know they are
- 8:22Speaker 1: building another elementary school in the area. And as soon
- 8:24Speaker 1: as gonna be a middle school and the high school.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Saw so it's a growing area. Um, we also have
- 8:30Speaker 1: a trampoline park that's gonna be right behind us called
- 8:32Speaker 1: Urban Airs, and there's a great location looking forward to
- 8:35Speaker 1: what's going to become in the future. And um, it
- 8:37Speaker 1: was just something that we looked at it that no
- 8:39Speaker 1: matter what the economy is, people are gonna always you know,
- 8:43Speaker 1: it's something that people it's it's like a necessity even
- 8:45Speaker 1: though it's not a need, it's a necessity that people
- 8:47Speaker 1: no matter what the market is, it's always, Hey, you know,
- 8:50Speaker 1: birthday is coming around. We need to make a cake
- 8:52Speaker 1: or need cupcakes or whatever it is. And then you
- 8:55Speaker 1: have so many different holidays, whether it's Halloween, whether it's
- 8:57Speaker 1: Valentine's Day, Christmas, Thanks Give Bean, Mother's Day. You have
- 9:01Speaker 1: so many different holidays that people celebrate. They like to
- 9:04Speaker 1: celebrate with with suits. And uh, you know, we already
- 9:07Speaker 1: have something that started Nashville called Tipps Treats. Um that
- 9:10Speaker 1: you may be aware. I know you said you're from
- 9:11Speaker 1: the city of Houston. But again another another Atmospere, another
- 9:16Speaker 1: you know area with cupcakes and and you know, we
- 9:19Speaker 1: had some called Sprinkles and got Hey Cakes and know
- 9:22Speaker 1: all those different things. But this was a brand that
- 9:25Speaker 1: wasn't in the Austin area. That was something new, and
- 9:28Speaker 1: we know in the Austin area we like to grasp
- 9:30Speaker 1: on the things that are new and build upon it. Uh.
- 9:33Speaker 1: All three of us being graduates from the University of
- 9:36Speaker 1: Texas and mourn you know what our names brought to
- 9:38Speaker 1: the table and the people that we do know, Um,
- 9:41Speaker 1: it just helped out tremendously. And then again this Microsoft
- 9:43Speaker 1: things came out of nowhere and it just continuously just
- 9:47Speaker 1: pro telling us going forward. And I think I'll work
- 9:50Speaker 1: ethic altogether, working together as a team, being real good friends. Uh.
- 9:54Speaker 1: They were my groomsmen at my wedding and we have
- 9:56Speaker 1: that type of relationship with our families and things that nation.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I think it was just something that we just hit
- 10:00Speaker 1: the ball. This this hated rolling and and it's me
- 10:03Speaker 1: they have a lot of great success. The first thing
- 10:06Speaker 1: about that Microsoft commercial is that, first of all, I'm
- 10:09Speaker 1: gonna use some terminolarge. It's very female friendly, you know,
- 10:13Speaker 1: and it's very family friendly. Every time I see it,
- 10:15Speaker 1: I smile. Both of you guys are very engaging, you know.
- 10:20Speaker 1: You know, it's like it's like it's these big old guys.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It's a little bit of cupcake. You know, it's really Uh,
- 10:26Speaker 1: can you tell us how that came about? Because you
- 10:27Speaker 1: said it came out of nowhere? Because it is a
- 10:30Speaker 1: monster a monster success for me personally, a guy who's
- 10:35Speaker 1: really into marketing and branding. It's amazing. Man. Congratulations. Uh
- 10:41Speaker 1: uh go ahead, right if you want to go ahead,
- 10:43Speaker 1: I mean I can. I mean, I guess my standpoint
- 10:46Speaker 1: it was, it was it kind of came out of nowhere.
- 10:49Speaker 1: We started getting reached out. Uh was getting phone calls up,
- 10:53Speaker 1: the phone calls, and our man just said, somebody from Microsoft.
- 10:56Speaker 1: That's somebody somebody. Yeah, And I keep trying to tell
- 11:00Speaker 1: him that y'all are not here, you know, keep saying
- 11:02Speaker 1: that Brian rack Poles playing with the Titans right now.
- 11:04Speaker 1: And you know I was at the time, I was
- 11:06Speaker 1: doing the Longhorn Network, so I'm doing broadcasting, so I
- 11:09Speaker 1: wasn't in the store all the time. And Brian Instant,
- 11:11Speaker 1: you know, he has his job also, so one day,
- 11:14Speaker 1: you know, let me just get him a call and
- 11:15Speaker 1: see what's going on. And that I gave him a
- 11:16Speaker 1: call and they were like, hey, you want to sit
- 11:18Speaker 1: down and talk and discussing things. And again I was like, okay,
- 11:21Speaker 1: this must be a joke. And then I guess, um,
- 11:24Speaker 1: from that standpoint, relay the message over to Brian and
- 11:27Speaker 1: somebody my name of Sandy sunder All contacted him and
- 11:31Speaker 1: we're like, okay, maybe this made serious. Here's a good
- 11:36Speaker 1: the closing thought. We got a couple of minutes here. Um.
- 11:38Speaker 1: First of all, I want to congratulate you too, and
- 11:40Speaker 1: that's a sincere Both of you guys are both articulate.
- 11:44Speaker 1: The intelligence and your education shows through, and so that's
- 11:48Speaker 1: what comes across. I'm just going to let you know
- 11:50Speaker 1: from an African American perspective how important what you guys
- 11:53Speaker 1: are doing in those commercials because of the fact that,
- 11:56Speaker 1: you know, we're often misrepresented as to what we can do,
- 12:00Speaker 1: especially when we're when our skills are tied to athleticism.
- 12:03Speaker 1: You know, it's just like watching Lebron Jame does you
- 12:06Speaker 1: know on the regular basis is it's awesome. It's awesome.
- 12:10Speaker 1: And so just just know that as as a fan
- 12:14Speaker 1: of entrepreneurship, as a fan of uh of watching NFL football,
- 12:19Speaker 1: those commercials ready more than just beyond just you guys
- 12:24Speaker 1: talking about something for Microsoft talking, which is an amazing
- 12:27Speaker 1: brand to be tied to, talking about making cupcakes. You
- 12:30Speaker 1: guys represent yourselves and what we do as African Americans
- 12:34Speaker 1: in a very special way. I just want to make
- 12:36Speaker 1: that comment to you. I hopefully you've heard it before.
- 12:38Speaker 1: You're head again in the future more often, because you
- 12:40Speaker 1: guys are making a difference and at a lot of
- 12:43Speaker 1: young people and grown people's lives. I appreciate that, appreciate that.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Thank you very much more than you know how we
- 12:51Speaker 1: appreciate that. Well. The good thing about it is that
- 12:53Speaker 1: I like the eat cupcakes and on myself, Michael Griffith
- 12:57Speaker 1: and the man, the wreck Man, the same man bro
- 13:01Speaker 1: the rock pole to University, University to Houston, That's where
- 13:04Speaker 1: I came from. Toy we he didn't do Georgia. We're
- 13:15Speaker 1: back in there now, Yeah, y'all, y'all back for real. Man.
- 13:20Speaker 1: You know I got we saw my coach, head coach,
- 13:23Speaker 1: stole my head coach and now y'all back. We had
- 13:27Speaker 1: to teach him not to you know, you know, he
- 13:28Speaker 1: started in texts. We had to teach him. We had
- 13:30Speaker 1: to teach him, and then we let him go. And
- 13:31Speaker 1: then he came on back. You know, I'm in Atlanta,
- 13:34Speaker 1: so George got me a little bit down here, So
- 13:37Speaker 1: y'all went down and put that whooping on him. I
- 13:38Speaker 1: was proud of you, man. But again, man, congratulations for
- 13:42Speaker 1: doing this in Austin. If you ever think about coming
- 13:44Speaker 1: to Houston, look up your broy Rashawn McDonald because I
- 13:48Speaker 1: got a home there too. But again, I'm gonna post
- 13:50Speaker 1: you on my social media. I'm gonna post that video.

- 15:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Money Making Conversation as a radio talk
- 15:03Speaker 1: show about entrepreneurship and entertainment. I provide the consumer and
- 15:07Speaker 1: business owner access to celebrities, CEOs, entrepreneurs and industry decision makers.
- 15:12Speaker 1: They in turn deliver information by career planning, motivation, financial literacy,
- 15:16Speaker 1: and how they lead a balanced life. My next guest
- 15:19Speaker 1: received her bachelor's degree in journalism from James Madison University.
- 15:23Speaker 1: I always later go back a little titbits about people
- 15:25Speaker 1: that you need to know. Sometimes we all have to
- 15:27Speaker 1: see the celebrity side of them. You don't realize that
- 15:29Speaker 1: that's like going on in these people. That's why they
- 15:31Speaker 1: get articulate, that's whatever a sense of value when they
- 15:34Speaker 1: start talking and speaking. In addition, she recently launched an
- 15:38Speaker 1: online clothing batique, PS by Pat Smith, and a portion
- 15:42Speaker 1: of the proceeds support the emergency needs of women and girls.
- 15:46Speaker 1: We have a lot of talk for talk about. Like
- 15:48Speaker 1: I said, she's a administer, author, executive producer, and we
- 15:52Speaker 1: will talk about those projects. Speaker, entrepreneur and philanthropists. Please
- 15:56Speaker 1: work on the money making conversation. Pat Smith, thank you.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It's good to be here and it's good to connect
- 16:02Speaker 1: back with you. Awesome of course you and I I
- 16:05Speaker 1: watch your work and I'm glad to be reconnected with
- 16:08Speaker 1: you and I half of you on my show because
- 16:10Speaker 1: take your little background of the show are we live
- 16:12Speaker 1: in Atlanta, Georgia, And it's one podcasts and series exam
- 16:16Speaker 1: It's on all HBCU campuses and and the beauty of
- 16:20Speaker 1: what I try to do on this show Pad is
- 16:22Speaker 1: to take us to sexful people, successful people, and then
- 16:26Speaker 1: just break it down what they do and hear their
- 16:28Speaker 1: stories and and let everyday people where they're successful not
- 16:32Speaker 1: realized that they're crossing the same path. And if you're
- 16:34Speaker 1: not doing what these people are doing, you might want
- 16:36Speaker 1: to change your game. And So when I when I
- 16:39Speaker 1: encounter individual like you. You know you you you spread
- 16:43Speaker 1: blessings to your ministry. You know you're an author, an
- 16:46Speaker 1: executive producer, you know, which means that you walk on
- 16:49Speaker 1: your decision maker. That's all your executive produce or anything.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Your decision maker you got. You gotta be fearless because
- 16:55Speaker 1: a lot of people look at you, go, am I
- 16:56Speaker 1: gonna be paid? Can I cut this scene? Can we
- 16:59Speaker 1: move forward? Or is it all right the weather? This
- 17:01Speaker 1: type of outfit. Executive producers make those type of decisions
- 17:04Speaker 1: as well as casting. Then you're speaker, entrepreneur, philanthropt philanthropists. Yeah, charity,
- 17:11Speaker 1: let's start. Let's start. Let's start a minister Orde Elder
- 17:15Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, let's start off with that. Now, now let's
- 17:18Speaker 1: talk about you. Based in Dallas, Um Marrith to Emmett Smith,
- 17:23Speaker 1: very talented Hall of fame dancing dancer. Okay, I gotta
- 17:28Speaker 1: started off. Can you dance? Look not like him? God?
- 17:34Speaker 1: I had no idea. I mean, we we met dancing
- 17:37Speaker 1: um at the Bad Music Festival years ago in the Uba.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I've been almost two years ago, Um, and I knew
- 17:46Speaker 1: he could throw down right, But you know, but what
- 17:48Speaker 1: you know you said Matt dancing. That was like you
- 17:51Speaker 1: know regular yeah girl, yeah yeah, all right, you got
- 17:55Speaker 1: your dancing. He was dancing, Oh yeah, he was, he
- 17:58Speaker 1: was getting he was not only was he you know,
- 18:01Speaker 1: he could move, but he was ballroom dancing, which is
- 18:04Speaker 1: which is a phenomenon and also changed the game and
- 18:07Speaker 1: perspective of what athletes thought what athletes can do in
- 18:10Speaker 1: that particularly genre, you know, because he wanted. But let's
- 18:13Speaker 1: get back on you actually want to put that out,
- 18:15Speaker 1: that little joke about dancing out there. Let's talk about
- 18:18Speaker 1: a lot of your organizations out there that are changing
- 18:20Speaker 1: people's lives. Let's start with Treasure You, which is a
- 18:23Speaker 1: nonprofit organization founded by you, of course, dedicated to supporting
- 18:26Speaker 1: women and finatural, emotional, and spiritual needs. Let's talk about that.
- 18:31Speaker 1: You know that That's why I call it my baby, um,
- 18:35Speaker 1: because it's wow. It was. It was a very difficult
- 18:39Speaker 1: birthing process for that. All babies, okay, all babies, but
- 18:45Speaker 1: you know, our biological babies usually take about nine months.
- 18:49Speaker 1: This baby took about you know, fifteen years, um, because
- 18:54Speaker 1: it started with with pain and hurt and disappointment as
- 18:59Speaker 1: a woman, you know, making some bad decisions. Um, you
- 19:05Speaker 1: know on my part and through that journey of pain
- 19:09Speaker 1: and discoveries what led me to UM to start Treasure
- 19:13Speaker 1: You years ago because I just felt like there needed
- 19:17Speaker 1: to be a place for women to go to that
- 19:19Speaker 1: was safe, first of all, UM, where we could share
- 19:23Speaker 1: honestly and openly in an authentic and transparent way with
- 19:27Speaker 1: each other. UM. I got into a place where, you know,
- 19:33Speaker 1: with with some of the losses, going through a divorce,
- 19:36Speaker 1: going through a lot of nose in the entertainment industry, UM,
- 19:40Speaker 1: I lost a lot of my self esteem and a
- 19:43Speaker 1: lot of my self worth. And so I felt like,
- 19:46Speaker 1: they're you know, there needed to be this place where
- 19:48Speaker 1: we could come together and inspire one another and share
- 19:51Speaker 1: and grow UM. And so I hosted my first retreat
- 19:55Speaker 1: with women that were very similar to me, that were
- 19:57Speaker 1: married to high profile men who had just lost themselves.
- 20:01Speaker 1: And then that then grew into something even larger, which
- 20:05Speaker 1: was just I realized, as women, we all sometimes lose ourselves,
- 20:10Speaker 1: whether it's to our children, to our careers too, UM,
- 20:14Speaker 1: just being overwhelmed with life in general, we we forget
- 20:18Speaker 1: who we are and why we're here. And I've learned,
- 20:22Speaker 1: you know, it's not about just having a career. It's
- 20:24Speaker 1: about having a mission in life. And so Treasure You
- 20:29Speaker 1: just really grew and then um, I developed a heart
- 20:34Speaker 1: to stand in the gap for women or be a
- 20:36Speaker 1: bridge for women. There was a woman who helped me
- 20:38Speaker 1: years ago, and UM, I was going through it, you know,
- 20:42Speaker 1: left my house middle of the night with with my
- 20:44Speaker 1: my baby girl, she's nine months old, and she took
- 20:47Speaker 1: me in and provided a safe place for me. And
- 20:50Speaker 1: so I said, you know what, I want to do
- 20:52Speaker 1: that for women. The Treasure You went from retreats, you know,
- 20:55Speaker 1: to events, to then raising dollars to help women that
- 20:58Speaker 1: were just like me who needed a bridge. Um, just
- 21:02Speaker 1: to get you know, hey, it's gonna be all right, girl,
- 21:04Speaker 1: I got you, sister. Um you know, maybe she needs
- 21:08Speaker 1: a you know, a place to stay, temporary housing. Maybe
- 21:12Speaker 1: she needs, you know, to get her vehicle fixed so
- 21:14Speaker 1: she can get to work or get her kids to school.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Whatever that is. Um. We provided you know, women with furniture.
- 21:20Speaker 1: When you know, the tornado hit here in Dallas years ago. Um,
- 21:24Speaker 1: there's a lot of single mothers who were put out.
- 21:27Speaker 1: We were able to partner with the Dallas Furniture Bank
- 21:29Speaker 1: and help them. So that is that's kind of where
- 21:32Speaker 1: we've grown to today. I haven't done a retreat in years,
- 21:35Speaker 1: but we are always there for for someone who needs
- 21:38Speaker 1: just the bridge. So yeah, yeah, that's my that's my baby.
- 21:43Speaker 1: That's just taking a long time to to birth. But
- 21:46Speaker 1: we know the thing about it is because there's so
- 21:48Speaker 1: many layers and a lot of people. Uh, you know,
- 21:52Speaker 1: there's so many you you championed so many situations because
- 21:55Speaker 1: I'm sure you know, uh the best in violence situation
- 21:59Speaker 1: falls into line with that. How you come to the
- 22:01Speaker 1: rescue of women in period and try to point them
- 22:05Speaker 1: in the right direction and build their self esteem and
- 22:08Speaker 1: so and so when you say how do you go
- 22:11Speaker 1: about raising funds for this organization? If anywhere I can
- 22:14Speaker 1: help assist and promote that, how do you reise funds
- 22:16Speaker 1: for treasure? You? You know what's just going to treasure
- 22:20Speaker 1: you dot org um and you know making a donation,
- 22:25Speaker 1: which it's a blessing because we're continually like trying to
- 22:29Speaker 1: um support women. I mean I get requests all the time,
- 22:31Speaker 1: and you know, I have not been able to do
- 22:34Speaker 1: a fundraiser in a long time. So people just making
- 22:36Speaker 1: donations that will definitely help. Also, you mentioned my clothing
- 22:40Speaker 1: line with PS by Pat Smith, a portion of the
- 22:43Speaker 1: proceeds I always donate back to treasure You what what
- 22:47Speaker 1: what is? What is that closing line? What is it?
- 22:49Speaker 1: When you when you say that is it? Is it? What?
- 22:51Speaker 1: What is it? What is it? Gear towards the professional woman,
- 22:53Speaker 1: the casual where? What is the what is the clone? LPs?
- 22:56Speaker 1: What is pois the fashion so PS? It's Pat Smith?
- 23:02Speaker 1: But it also means PS like just one more thing.
- 23:06Speaker 1: So I played off of that because you know what,
- 23:09Speaker 1: with women, I think sometimes we weighed so many of
- 23:11Speaker 1: our resources and money on clothes and stuff that is
- 23:16Speaker 1: not eternal, um, when we should be saving our money.
- 23:20Speaker 1: So I didn't want a clothing line that was going
- 23:22Speaker 1: to drain people's pockets, but a clothing line where people
- 23:25Speaker 1: could get affordable, you know, cute outfits that were different
- 23:30Speaker 1: because of course we all like to look nice, um
- 23:33Speaker 1: and feel good about ourselves. And then knowing that a
- 23:36Speaker 1: portion of your funds, then we'll go back to help
- 23:39Speaker 1: another woman who is in need. It's empowering. I wanted
- 23:42Speaker 1: to create this this community of women that yes, you
- 23:45Speaker 1: can come shop, but it's not gonna you know, we're
- 23:48Speaker 1: not not design aware rights affordable ware, but it's still
- 23:53Speaker 1: they're still cute and unique pieces. Okay, what is that website? Okay,
- 23:58Speaker 1: that is ps by Smith dot com. See, I gotta
- 24:01Speaker 1: get all these websites. Oh, we go. We want to
- 24:06Speaker 1: make conversations, not bad. Remember what show You'll not money,
- 24:09Speaker 1: make you conversations. Okay, let's move on to another project.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Because of the fact that I know I got another second,
- 24:14Speaker 1: I want to squeeze a little bit this conversation. Then
- 24:17Speaker 1: you're an executive producer alongside your husband Hall of Famer,
- 24:19Speaker 1: NFL Hall of Famer and Smith of Canal Street. A
- 24:23Speaker 1: faith driven film. Uh that speaks to millennials who find
- 24:26Speaker 1: confident in the belief systems were driven is a propeller
- 24:30Speaker 1: and inspires movement. So let me just clarify. And this
- 24:34Speaker 1: isn't no disrespect, but I think it's important for other
- 24:37Speaker 1: women to know. Um, So I am I'm executive producer
- 24:40Speaker 1: without him. So okay, he's very supportive, but I'm I'm
- 24:45Speaker 1: actually um executive producer. Well that's good because they wrote
- 24:50Speaker 1: it on a piece of paper just like that. That's
- 24:53Speaker 1: because I'm I'm Let me just tell you something. My
- 24:56Speaker 1: whole thing is that this shows about you. And so
- 24:59Speaker 1: I remember our mana Steve Harvey, many years and I
- 25:01Speaker 1: had to define what my accomplishments were because a lot
- 25:04Speaker 1: of people kind of like you know, shared our shared
- 25:06Speaker 1: my success story with him. And this show is about
- 25:09Speaker 1: allowing you, as a successful female in the in the industry,
- 25:13Speaker 1: to show that this is a project. So let's talk
- 25:15Speaker 1: about executive producer of Canal Street, Miss past Smith. Let's
- 25:20Speaker 1: get it right and let me let me if you
- 25:22Speaker 1: don't mind, let me just say this and why it's
- 25:24Speaker 1: important for me personally. It's because, like I said, I
- 25:27Speaker 1: started Treasure you because I literally was drowning in the
- 25:29Speaker 1: shadows when I met you years ago. I was in
- 25:32Speaker 1: l A, you know, trying to overcome a divorce, back
- 25:35Speaker 1: in acting classes and studying and trying to get my
- 25:38Speaker 1: grind on and and working really hard. Um and then
- 25:43Speaker 1: of course I moved to Dallas and got married in
- 25:45Speaker 1: two thousands, and I lost myself, you know, with the cowboys,
- 25:50Speaker 1: you know, kind of getting lost in the shadows of
- 25:52Speaker 1: raising children. I just kind of lost path. So I
- 25:56Speaker 1: want people to know that, you know, now I'm forty
- 25:59Speaker 1: eight years old, I started it in this business when
- 26:00Speaker 1: I was twenty two and it's never too late. It's
- 26:05Speaker 1: never too late to find yourself, rediscover yourself and continue
- 26:09Speaker 1: to pursue your dreams, your purpose, your passion. So I
- 26:12Speaker 1: wanted to make that clear because many times people do
- 26:14Speaker 1: want to, you know, connect me to Emma or Emma
- 26:17Speaker 1: Smith's wife, which yes, I am his wife, he's my husband.
- 26:21Speaker 1: But I want women to know that you can. We
- 26:23Speaker 1: all have our own unique purpose and it doesn't necessarily
- 26:26Speaker 1: want to be in films or do films, but Pat
- 26:28Speaker 1: does well. Young lady, um I say young, because you are.
- 26:32Speaker 1: You're fantastic, You're amazing. I think I want to tell
- 26:36Speaker 1: you is that this is not the interview that I
- 26:39Speaker 1: plan is. It's a bigger because the fact that I've
- 26:42Speaker 1: learned additional nuggets about you that are changing people's lives,
- 26:46Speaker 1: especially from a women need to hear about finding themselves
- 26:51Speaker 1: and realizing living their life. And it tells a little
- 26:54Speaker 1: selfish moment and nothing wrong with being selfish because in
- 26:57Speaker 1: the end you have to be happy to past me.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I want to thank you about thank you for coming
- 27:01Speaker 1: on the show, Money Making Conversation, Treasure You. I will
- 27:03Speaker 1: be supporting on my website. PS by Pat Smith and
- 27:07Speaker 1: Canal Street. We just gotta go out and see that
- 27:08Speaker 1: movie because it's changing Live is a faith driven movie.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Thank you, Pat Smith. How many of us have looked
- 27:16Speaker 1: at our finances and scream, how can we make this
- 27:19Speaker 1: much and still have so much debt? It just creased

- 28:29Speaker 1: social media followers are female. He's a two time Emmy
- 28:32Speaker 1: Award winner, three time n double A CP Image Award winner,
- 28:36Speaker 1: Sitcom Liar, Stand Up prominit for a More Idea executive,
- 28:40Speaker 1: and has a degree in mathematics. More important, Rashan McDonald
- 28:43Speaker 1: would use his visits and celebrity relationships through our small
- 28:47Speaker 1: businesses with Information to succeed My next guest. Last time
- 29:08Speaker 1: I saw we ran into each other was at the
- 29:10Speaker 1: Image Awards about a couple of years ago, when I
- 29:13Speaker 1: went up there and picked up an image for the
- 29:15Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Talk Show. And um, but I've known him
- 29:18Speaker 1: much longer this, I have to say, almost twenty years. Uh.
- 29:22Speaker 1: My next guest is an entertainment industry veteran. Still young, yeah, young.
- 29:26Speaker 1: The veterans always sound like you've been out there, yo. No,
- 29:29Speaker 1: just just young guy right here. He has played an
- 29:31Speaker 1: integral role in producing many of television's memorable memorable moments.
- 29:37Speaker 1: In music industry, just in Collins Entertainments. The name of
- 29:39Speaker 1: this business has produced award winning program and including the
- 29:42Speaker 1: BT Awards, which he knows. That's why we really got
- 29:46Speaker 1: big at the BET Awards, man, he really got rolling
- 29:48Speaker 1: BT Honors, U n c US, an Evening of Stars,
- 29:52Speaker 1: A b f F Awards, Soul Training Awards, BT Hip
- 29:55Speaker 1: Hop Awards. And I just saw him his name on
- 29:58Speaker 1: the screen on Amanda Sales if you haven't saw that
- 30:00Speaker 1: HBO special African American Young Lady Um historical executive producer
- 30:07Speaker 1: on her comedy special. He is also a consultant producer
- 30:10Speaker 1: for the iconic Grammy Awards. Okay coming up in February,
- 30:14Speaker 1: because it's called multiple Streams of Income, y'all. If y'all
- 30:16Speaker 1: don't understand his career executive, he was the executive use
- 30:19Speaker 1: of the Bat's hit TV series Real Husband of Hollywood
- 30:22Speaker 1: staring crazy Man Kevin Hart. He's also executive producer VICH
- 30:26Speaker 1: Once Dear Mama, which comes on Memorial Day. I saw
- 30:29Speaker 1: his name, there's man, I think I called. I said, man,
- 30:33Speaker 1: you're doing it, dude. Hip Hop Squares with ice Cube
- 30:37Speaker 1: and Netflix Rhythm and Flow that were debated in twenty
- 30:39Speaker 1: and eight teen. Please welcome the money making conversation. I'm
- 30:42Speaker 1: gonna call my friend Jesse Collins. What's happening, Rashan? How
- 30:47Speaker 1: you doing doing very good? Man? Uh? Your energy side? Lord,
- 30:51Speaker 1: you just tie from being so busy man. Yeah, we
- 30:58Speaker 1: just we are. We did uh we did a panel
- 31:02Speaker 1: yesterday at Sundance and it was it was great. So
- 31:04Speaker 1: we just I'm just getting back just walking in an offensite.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Now here's the thing that were you based at to
- 31:10Speaker 1: give a little back around about the people who really
- 31:12Speaker 1: delve into the world of Jesse College, because I read
- 31:16Speaker 1: it just do a radio. When we first connected, right
- 31:20Speaker 1: radio he started the radio, started radio the radio, and
- 31:24Speaker 1: I think you and I connected um around the Parenthood,
- 31:28Speaker 1: Yes sir, yes, sir. And that was my first that
- 31:30Speaker 1: was like that was a ninety four or something like that,
- 31:33Speaker 1: and yeah and uh and so then he went on
- 31:35Speaker 1: and then uh, when we really connected was on the
- 31:38Speaker 1: BT Awards when Steve Harvey and Cedric didn't table with
- 31:42Speaker 1: co Holst. We did it two years in a row.
- 31:44Speaker 1: That was like the start. That was like the start
- 31:47Speaker 1: of the Jesse College brand. Correct. Yeah, that was yeah,
- 31:52Speaker 1: that was really good. You know when once we started
- 31:55Speaker 1: getting those Awards shows and BT Awards. You know though,
- 31:58Speaker 1: it was you guys that you know what Stephen said
- 32:00Speaker 1: that that really, you know, laid the template for what
- 32:04Speaker 1: the BT Awards became, and then everything just kind of
- 32:06Speaker 1: grew off of that. Mm hm. Now let's let's talk
- 32:10Speaker 1: about you, the you, the individual who I'd like to say, man,
- 32:14Speaker 1: you you you don't shy away from an opportunity. A
- 32:16Speaker 1: lot of people say this is all I do. You know,
- 32:19Speaker 1: I can't executive producer a drama series, so I can't
- 32:22Speaker 1: ejective producer a show that's not on B E T.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I can't injective just gonna appeal to the masses. What
- 32:28Speaker 1: drives you, Jesse? What drives you? For me, it's just
- 32:33Speaker 1: it's about diversity. It's about just trying to um. You know,
- 32:37Speaker 1: Hollywood loves to put people in boxes. They would love
- 32:40Speaker 1: to say that you're that this guy, you're the that guy,
- 32:42Speaker 1: and and they don't want you to you know, they
- 32:44Speaker 1: don't want to call you for anything else, especially you know,
- 32:48Speaker 1: in the African American space. And you know, that just
- 32:51Speaker 1: doesn't make sense to me, because you know, entertainment is
- 32:55Speaker 1: constantly changing, and you got to be able to evolve
- 32:58Speaker 1: with it because one day the thing that you do
- 33:01Speaker 1: may go out of style and then where how are
- 33:04Speaker 1: you simply how are you gonna play your bills? You
- 33:07Speaker 1: can't tell American Express that like, oh yeah, Ward shows,
- 33:11Speaker 1: I'm really hot right now, so I'm waiting for them
- 33:13Speaker 1: to come back. That just doesn't work. So you gotta, um,
- 33:18Speaker 1: you gotta be diversified. And you know, I love all
- 33:23Speaker 1: kinds of you know, comedies, dramas, award shows, game shows.
- 33:28Speaker 1: You know, like most people, you're entertained by a lot
- 33:31Speaker 1: of different types of a programming. So why not produce
- 33:36Speaker 1: it um and not be afraid of producing it? That's
- 33:40Speaker 1: the key. Ye, that's the key. Now here's a serious
- 33:43Speaker 1: is coming up. Man. I can't wait that the promos
- 33:47Speaker 1: laws have mercy American Soul. That ships looks so good. Man.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Tell me about the American Soul man, which is about
- 33:55Speaker 1: about the soul trying. Yes, well, yes, American Soul is
- 34:01Speaker 1: uh something that we're really excited about. It. It's a
- 34:03Speaker 1: it's a one hour drama. Uh. This will be our
- 34:06Speaker 1: first season, ten episodes. And what we do is it's
- 34:10Speaker 1: really about what it was like. Of course it was
- 34:15Speaker 1: following the journey of Don Cornelius bringing the show from
- 34:17Speaker 1: Chicago to Los Angeles. But also it's about what life
- 34:22Speaker 1: was like, what the black experience was in Los Angeles
- 34:26Speaker 1: in nineteen seventy one. You know, we were in an
- 34:29Speaker 1: environment where we were at war. It was the beginnings
- 34:33Speaker 1: of the crips and the gang, the gang activity. You
- 34:37Speaker 1: had a government that was oppressive at that time. You know,
- 34:42Speaker 1: we had a president that wasn't really checking for us,
- 34:45Speaker 1: and so you know, there are some Sadly, there are
- 34:49Speaker 1: some dualities. As you watch the show and you think
- 34:52Speaker 1: about where things are today, you kind of see that, like, oh,
- 34:55Speaker 1: something's changed with some things are either making a comeback
- 34:58Speaker 1: or have remain the same. Um all of that against
- 35:03Speaker 1: Don struggle to to cut through and be and and
- 35:08Speaker 1: create something iconic along of course with all the things
- 35:12Speaker 1: that we love from Soul Train. So you're gonna get
- 35:14Speaker 1: the music, you're gonna get the Soul Train line, you're
- 35:16Speaker 1: gonna get the fashion from that time period. Like it's
- 35:20Speaker 1: all it's all bundled in one to make it a
- 35:23Speaker 1: show that everybody can enjoy. When you when you look
- 35:26Speaker 1: at the project like that, it comes to you because
- 35:28Speaker 1: of the fact it's my style. And so the promos
- 35:31Speaker 1: got me because the style is you know, it's like
- 35:34Speaker 1: and I'm just saying, let everybody know we're talking about
- 35:36Speaker 1: We're talking to Jesse Collins of Jesse Collins Entertainment, one
- 35:39Speaker 1: of the iconic producers and creative minds in Hollywood today.
- 35:43Speaker 1: The new series that will be Aaron on BT called
- 35:45Speaker 1: American Soul. It will premiere Tuesday, February fifth, starting at
- 35:49Speaker 1: nine pm and would air back to back episodes. It's
- 35:53Speaker 1: the first season order is ten episodes. How is the
- 35:56Speaker 1: casting because a good friend of mine, uh Saraphiny Johnson,
- 35:59Speaker 1: we're on this series, and and so did the series
- 36:03Speaker 1: is written? And then you guys went out the casting
- 36:05Speaker 1: to cast a series? How did how did how did you? How?
- 36:08Speaker 1: How did they work? Basically what it was is that
- 36:13Speaker 1: they ordered ten scripts out of the gate. You know,
- 36:18Speaker 1: Divon Gregory and Jonathan Prince just great show runners, and
- 36:22Speaker 1: they just we went in and BT just took the
- 36:25Speaker 1: leap of faith at the post to ordering a pilot
- 36:28Speaker 1: and then just that and see what it is. You know,
- 36:31Speaker 1: we kind of said, we said, listen, if you do
- 36:34Speaker 1: the pilot, great, but then and you love it even better.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Bad news is, because of the production schedule, you won't
- 36:42Speaker 1: get the rest of them till two thousand twenty. And
- 36:46Speaker 1: it was one of those things where they just they
- 36:49Speaker 1: were just they committed to it so much and they
- 36:51Speaker 1: loved it so much that they said, okay, just go.
- 36:53Speaker 1: But then we wrote the ten scripts and then we started,
- 36:56Speaker 1: uh and we started the casting process finding these Knelius
- 37:00Speaker 1: the ultimate don't yes exactly, and we shot um, you know,
- 37:05Speaker 1: we shot this fall and you know, you know the deal.
- 37:09Speaker 1: We're still in the edit, but these things will you know,
- 37:13Speaker 1: we'll get there. That's and that's that's amazing. So so
- 37:17Speaker 1: the thing about it is that let's go back a
- 37:19Speaker 1: little bit. Let's go back to the New Edition. You
- 37:21Speaker 1: know when you just, oh lord, you know, out of
- 37:24Speaker 1: the blue, just set all kind of records. So tell
- 37:28Speaker 1: us about that experience. Tell us about that breakthrough programming.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I like to say, for B. E. T that you
- 37:35Speaker 1: helmed as an executive producer, the New Addition series, I
- 37:39Speaker 1: mean a New Edition mini series. Was you know that
- 37:42Speaker 1: one that was you know, one of those big pivotal
- 37:45Speaker 1: moments you know, Uh, it touched the culture. I think
- 37:49Speaker 1: it it excited a basic gout. Everyone at BT excited. Um,
- 37:54Speaker 1: it was something that took a long time. It was
- 37:56Speaker 1: about ten years to get it from from script to scream.
- 38:00Speaker 1: But you know, everything is about timing. I think you know,
- 38:03Speaker 1: if they had taken five, six, seven or eight, it
- 38:06Speaker 1: might not have done what it did. But ten was perfect.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Before we go, I want to tell everybody. February five,
- 38:12Speaker 1: American Soul, the executive producer I have. I'm on the
- 38:14Speaker 1: phone right now. Yep, it's a hit show. He's made
- 38:19Speaker 1: hit after hit. Dear Mama, New Edition, Bobby Brown BT Awards,
- 38:23Speaker 1: bet on it, you can hit me hit after hit
- 38:25Speaker 1: after hit, and right now on HBO The Amanda Seals

- 38:31Speaker 1: Jesse Collins Entertainment. Google it. The man's hiring because he
- 38:34Speaker 1: has multiple streams of income. Thank you. I appreciate you. Man.

- 39:54Speaker 1: and change your life. Cool Hi this Rashan McDonald. No,
- 39:59Speaker 1: it's it's great when you can just tell people your
- 40:01Speaker 1: name and then they go, okay, cool. You need something.
- 40:04Speaker 1: You're doing something different in life, and I feel like
- 40:07Speaker 1: I am doing something different in life. I've learned this
- 40:09Speaker 1: about changes about growth. A year ago, when I was
- 40:13Speaker 1: doing this show, I was trying to find myself. Two
- 40:16Speaker 1: years ago, I was I had no voice. I had
- 40:18Speaker 1: I didn't know why I was talking to people. I
- 40:19Speaker 1: didn't even know what the show was about. Every day,
- 40:22Speaker 1: I'm been starting to discover the difference that this show
- 40:25Speaker 1: is making the people to people's people's lives, and also
- 40:28Speaker 1: how people are trying to get on the show. Every day,
- 40:31Speaker 1: I'm starting to get contacted by the various people talking
- 40:33Speaker 1: about can I get on your show? This is why
- 40:35Speaker 1: I should be on your show? And that's important to
- 40:37Speaker 1: know that I'm developing a brand that other people want
- 40:40Speaker 1: to be a part of, and I'm developing a brand
- 40:42Speaker 1: that is resonating with people because they feel that I'm
- 40:45Speaker 1: making a difference and not only in their lives, but
- 40:48Speaker 1: the people around them. On each Moody made conversation radio
- 40:51Speaker 1: talk show, I would tell everybody's about entrepreneurship and entertainment.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I provide the consumer and business owner access to celebrities, CEOs,
- 40:58Speaker 1: entrepreneurs and induges, says Industry decision makers then turn to
- 41:02Speaker 1: deliver information about career planning, motivation, financial literacy, and how
- 41:05Speaker 1: they lead a balanced life. It's really important about living
- 41:08Speaker 1: a balanced life, is really important about doing the things
- 41:11Speaker 1: that you want to do in your life. It's really
- 41:13Speaker 1: important about waking up and having a reason to wake up,
- 41:15Speaker 1: because I can promise you the average person is waking
- 41:18Speaker 1: up because they're just waking up. I actually wake up,
- 41:21Speaker 1: and I know why I'm getting up. Do you really
- 41:23Speaker 1: know why you're getting out of bed? I do I
- 41:25Speaker 1: do every day, or I wouldn't get out of bed.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Those days that I don't know the other day, they
- 41:29Speaker 1: got about four days a year. I don't know why
- 41:31Speaker 1: I'm getting up. Those are the worst days of my life.
- 41:34Speaker 1: I just lay in bed, I get up that go.
- 41:36Speaker 1: I don't even function correctly. So I have to have
- 41:38Speaker 1: a plan when I go to sleep. I don't know
- 41:40Speaker 1: about you people. I don't know about the every day purpose.
- 41:42Speaker 1: I don't know about the average person. But Richan McDonald
- 41:44Speaker 1: go to sleep with a plan. Hey man, you you
- 41:48Speaker 1: you you went out your brain for you go to sleep.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I don't care what you say. All I noticed that
- 41:52Speaker 1: I'm in shape because I got a man on the phone,
- 41:55Speaker 1: and it's about to look in the mirror. I think
- 41:57Speaker 1: about his name or a lord. I think about this
- 41:59Speaker 1: brother here, what he and dun him and Morri It's
- 42:01Speaker 1: just don't done to my life made me viable, viable
- 42:05Speaker 1: in a good looking community. If you want to get
- 42:07Speaker 1: in shape, have a person on the phone for you.
- 42:09Speaker 1: His book The Cut Lose up to ten pounds and
- 42:12Speaker 1: ten days to Sculpture your best body. Yeah, he is
- 42:16Speaker 1: on the phone to talk about New Year Resolution challenge,
- 42:19Speaker 1: the New Year Resolution challenge that he's doing with my
- 42:21Speaker 1: man Morris Chestnut, who has a new television show coming out.
- 42:25Speaker 1: I'm now I don't look like Morris. I'm not shaped
- 42:27Speaker 1: like more but looks like Roshan McDonald. Please welcome to
- 42:31Speaker 1: the show, Obie Opa DK. Yeah, we're doing always were happening. Man.
- 42:37Speaker 1: You know you always, every time I talk to you,
- 42:40Speaker 1: feel extra motive. I'm always I'm always a positive person.
- 42:42Speaker 1: But when any time I talk to you, I feel
- 42:44Speaker 1: like jumping on top of the biggest mountain you know.
- 42:48Speaker 1: And it's and it's getting like that every day with me, Obie.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I was interviewing this guy and he said, why she comes?
- 42:55Speaker 1: Everybody will go you really want to come to work
- 42:57Speaker 1: because you get to work with rashand McDonald everybody in
- 42:59Speaker 1: the room. With the interview, my staff Nktta go Watch said,
- 43:03Speaker 1: because I want you to live the best luck that
- 43:05Speaker 1: I want. I want you to live the best life
- 43:06Speaker 1: that you can possibly live. And my role in life
- 43:08Speaker 1: is to give you that opportunity. That guy just Dad
- 43:11Speaker 1: and go can't love you because that's the truth. That's
- 43:14Speaker 1: the truth. And when I have people like you on
- 43:15Speaker 1: the phone that are changing lives, see what people don't
- 43:18Speaker 1: understand about when I get when I speak to Obi
- 43:20Speaker 1: and I speak to Mars and they got this New
- 43:22Speaker 1: year resolution with the way challenges it's it's about it's
- 43:27Speaker 1: about changing your lives, your life and in a perspective
- 43:30Speaker 1: of being getting it organized. And that's what I tell
- 43:33Speaker 1: you every time I call you, how much you've changed
- 43:35Speaker 1: my life. When I see him in person, I remind
- 43:38Speaker 1: him how much he's changed my life. Because sometimes if
- 43:41Speaker 1: you if you don't tell people that, they might think
- 43:44Speaker 1: God was just playing around, you know, joking. No, I'm
- 43:47Speaker 1: not joking. You know. I was doing a radio show
- 43:51Speaker 1: and I was just doing the interview. Their book to
- 43:53Speaker 1: Cut came into my life. I read it because it
- 43:56Speaker 1: was my assignment to read books to be able to
- 43:59Speaker 1: make sure understand what I was interviewing. And guess what
- 44:03Speaker 1: I got smart this time. I applied the information in
- 44:06Speaker 1: that book to my personal life. I lost nine pounds
- 44:09Speaker 1: in ten days and too much. I lost sixteen pounds
- 44:13Speaker 1: have not gained it back because he changed my life.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I'm solling he being Obie now, Mars, I got him,
- 44:22Speaker 1: but I talked to Obie all the time, So I'm
- 44:24Speaker 1: getting Obi the most credit here because I talked to him.
- 44:28Speaker 1: I don't have any bad days when I talked to
- 44:30Speaker 1: him because he's always inspired me to greatness. Now you
- 44:33Speaker 1: got this new this this this challenge here? How did
- 44:36Speaker 1: this come about? How the challenge came about? We had
- 44:39Speaker 1: so many women emailing us about how can I get
- 44:43Speaker 1: in better shape at home? How can I these are
- 44:46Speaker 1: my problem areas. These are the areas where I gained weight,
- 44:49Speaker 1: and a lot of for women, the biggest problem area
- 44:52Speaker 1: where they gained weight is the trice at the back
- 44:54Speaker 1: of the arm, the butt, and the thigh. So we
- 44:57Speaker 1: were overwhelmed with so many email us from women on
- 45:00Speaker 1: how to get in better shape at home? Because you
- 45:03Speaker 1: know the shots beyond a lot of people are intimidated
- 45:05Speaker 1: by going into the gym, you know what I mean. Um.
- 45:08Speaker 1: And so if you can create an environment where someone
- 45:12Speaker 1: is comfortable, they're relaxed, um, they're not intimidated, then they
- 45:17Speaker 1: have the motivation to actually exercise and do what's needed.
- 45:21Speaker 1: And so with those emails that that motivate us to
- 45:25Speaker 1: let's do a New Year's resolution challenge. You know, let's
- 45:27Speaker 1: start this off and we want this to be being
- 45:29Speaker 1: an every year thing, regardless of how well it does.
- 45:33Speaker 1: This is just us opportunity to to really really give back,
- 45:37Speaker 1: even if it doesn't do you know, crazy numbers and stuff,
- 45:40Speaker 1: it's really about Typically the first three months of the
- 45:42Speaker 1: year is really when people are trying to make a change,
- 45:44Speaker 1: and we want to capitalize on those individuals. Say look,
- 45:47Speaker 1: we've got a program that will help you, and you
- 45:49Speaker 1: can't say, well, I can't do that because you are
- 45:51Speaker 1: no no no no, no no no no. We got
- 45:53Speaker 1: modifications that the guys you can't do. So there's no excuse. Whatsoeup,
- 45:57Speaker 1: you can't do a body squad go all the way?
- 46:00Speaker 1: Then you do a half squad. I know, you can
- 46:01Speaker 1: ben a little bit, you can bend a half away,
- 46:04Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And so you're still working
- 46:07Speaker 1: out and so um it's this New Year's Resolution sixty
- 46:10Speaker 1: day challenge. You got motivational videos, home exercide videos, body
- 46:15Speaker 1: type diet plans. Morris is motivating you every day as
- 46:19Speaker 1: well as myself. We have amazing uh female fitness instructors
- 46:23Speaker 1: in our background, talent that help also as well with
- 46:27Speaker 1: the program. It's a really great program. There's only so
- 46:30Speaker 1: much you can learn from a book. Seeing some still
- 46:33Speaker 1: photos of Morris and I and the black and white
- 46:35Speaker 1: photos in the book, right, and now you got videos,
- 46:37Speaker 1: you know, and we we live in a visually stimulated society.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Let's be honest, you know, well, motivate us to tell
- 46:43Speaker 1: us and tell us where we gotta go, so we can,
- 46:46Speaker 1: you know, start our year off right. Not only start
- 46:49Speaker 1: our year right, but get our lives right. Don't tell
- 46:51Speaker 1: you for your life right. It affects your your mate,
- 46:53Speaker 1: well it's male or female, and affects your children, and
- 46:56Speaker 1: affects your co workers. Because I feel good, look in
- 47:00Speaker 1: the mirror, I'm thinking myself out anymore? How can you
- 47:03Speaker 1: feel like? How can he look like? How can he
- 47:06Speaker 1: be with Shane Howell? They can join the challenge. My
- 47:09Speaker 1: friend to go to New Year's Resolution Challenge dot Com
- 47:14Speaker 1: and join us for the challenge. The winner of the
- 47:16Speaker 1: challenge the person that loses the most weight with good
- 47:18Speaker 1: opportunity round trip ticket to California and work out with
- 47:22Speaker 1: Morris and I and hang out with us for a day.
- 47:25Speaker 1: So I know that this program if I trust me,
- 47:29Speaker 1: if you join this challenge, trust me, you will get
- 47:31Speaker 1: in great shape. You will lose weight. Also, you'll have
- 47:35Speaker 1: the ability if you have any questions throughout the challenge,
- 47:37Speaker 1: your have ability to UH to check go through our
- 47:40Speaker 1: our check in with me, and I'll be checking you know,
- 47:44Speaker 1: I'll be checking in with you every week. So it's
- 47:45Speaker 1: not like you have these videos and you don't have
- 47:47Speaker 1: access to me or even Morris once in a while.
- 47:50Speaker 1: He might even be jumping in there too. So it's
- 47:52Speaker 1: a sixty day challenge New Year's Resolution Challenge dot Com.
- 47:55Speaker 1: And I know you guys will you know? I know
- 47:57Speaker 1: you'll you'll benefit tremendously. And I created a program with
- 48:01Speaker 1: the everyday average person, obviously with an emphasis with females
- 48:05Speaker 1: in mind, but guys can do the program as well too,
- 48:07Speaker 1: so it is a unisex program. There's ra Sean McDonald
- 48:13Speaker 1: my next guest. I already told her she can't come
- 48:16Speaker 1: in my studio with our food, and guess what she wrote,
- 48:18Speaker 1: some food when ard from next my next test company,
- 48:22Speaker 1: a little slice of Heaven. You can expect to get
- 48:25Speaker 1: custom made to autobate goods which I'm eating right now,
- 48:28Speaker 1: designed with you in mind, from birthdays, the showers, graduation parties,
- 48:32Speaker 1: the wedding. It's a little slice of Heaven, which is
- 48:34Speaker 1: the name of her business, were created custom centerpiece that
- 48:37Speaker 1: we enjoyed by all. If you go on my website,
- 48:40Speaker 1: if you're going on my social media, she made me
- 48:42Speaker 1: for my birthday. It is beautiful logo, design, cake of
- 48:45Speaker 1: money making conversation. Nobody ever did that for me in
- 48:48Speaker 1: my life. It was like a total surprise, and she's
- 48:51Speaker 1: back in studio because we believe you should taste as
- 48:54Speaker 1: good as it looks, really, you know, and that not
- 48:58Speaker 1: only was the logo good looking, but the food was bad.
- 49:03Speaker 1: All gates, all guests. I believe that when you raping
- 49:06Speaker 1: by food, it should be the experienced and then the
- 49:09Speaker 1: I would like to tell the desserts that have made
- 49:12Speaker 1: it a little A little slice of Heaven is truly
- 49:14Speaker 1: an experience. Please work with the money making conversation Melanie
- 49:18Speaker 1: wide money. Thank you so much for having me. It's
- 49:22Speaker 1: a pleasure to be here again with you today bearing
- 49:25Speaker 1: treats again. Of course, based on the reaction, we'll tell
- 49:29Speaker 1: you about about the sweet that I'm eating. It's gonna
- 49:31Speaker 1: give me time to tall eat a little bit. So
- 49:34Speaker 1: I brought for Rushan today our best selling flavor, which
- 49:39Speaker 1: is many lemon pound cakes, and we ship these all
- 49:43Speaker 1: across the nation and a two count, six count or
- 49:47Speaker 1: a twelve count um. So we've shipped over thirty states
- 49:51Speaker 1: across the US, and we will definitely left to ship
- 49:55Speaker 1: to your doorstep fresh from our ovens. But that is
- 49:58Speaker 1: what you're eating now. My mother to developed that recipe.
- 50:01Speaker 1: It's been over a year the last all that's right, okay,
- 50:04Speaker 1: because that's my anniversary. So some things have been happening
- 50:08Speaker 1: positive in your life. Bus has been doing well. But
- 50:10Speaker 1: we may be seeing you on the small screen, that's right,
- 50:14Speaker 1: actually the big screen, because we are about to them
- 50:17Speaker 1: be making our television debut on the Food Network. That
- 50:21Speaker 1: was the highlight, definitely the highlights of my career being
- 50:26Speaker 1: invited out to California to film for a new show
- 50:29Speaker 1: called Winner Cake All it's uh aired. It started airing
- 50:36Speaker 1: on January seventh of this year. In our episode is
- 50:39Speaker 1: February eleven. It's a Monday at ten pm. So I
- 50:43Speaker 1: can't wait to see me on the screen and see
- 50:48Speaker 1: how it's been edited. But it was a wonderful, wonderful
- 50:51Speaker 1: it spen. How were you selected for that? It's called
- 50:54Speaker 1: Winner Cake, All Winner Cake. All. That's right. I was selected.
- 50:58Speaker 1: I applied. I sent my portfolio. When they saw all
- 51:02Speaker 1: the different creations that I've made, they were interested in
- 51:05Speaker 1: my work and they called me. I did the telephone interview.
- 51:10Speaker 1: The love my personality and they're like, we gotta have you.
- 51:13Speaker 1: So what was the goal of Enternet Contest or our
- 51:17Speaker 1: internet television show? What? What? What was the purpose? The
- 51:20Speaker 1: purpose was just to challenge myself personally. I know I'm
- 51:25Speaker 1: capable with any type of design, but you know, when
