- 0:00I'm thinking today of Genesis 2 .25, and the
- 0:03man and his wife were both naked, but they were
- 0:06not ashamed. Current things that we are concerned
- 0:10about, like that we're always concerned about,
- 0:13were not part of the original scene. Clothes,
- 0:17appearances, danger, worry, regret, living outside
- 0:22God's plan, of course, sin of any kind, and death.
- 0:27A lot of things feel like death, but... Even
- 0:30death actually is death, and it wasn't part of
- 0:32the original scene. Before the fall, they were
- 0:35living together, vulnerable, feeling worthy of
- 0:38each other's love. They had virtually limitless
- 0:42provision. They had God walking with them in
- 0:44the coolness of the garden, and they were vulnerable,
- 0:46but not weak. From here, it might look like uncivilized
- 0:51or pre -development, but the reality is that
- 0:54if shame and selfish, wicked behavior come with
- 0:58those developments, then we don't actually want
- 1:02them. But it's too late now. Unless God should
- 1:06deal with them, we are hopelessly stuck. Then
- 1:10he did deal with them. He did provide rebirth,
- 1:13spiritual healing, and he conquered shame, sin,
- 1:16and death. We don't live like we're fallen. We
- 1:20are now to live alive in him. Our darkest hours
- 1:26are known, our foolishness, wickedness, our shame,
- 1:29and he has dealt with it all. While we were yet
- 1:33sinners, Christ died for us. We live beyond the
- 1:36veil, behind the curtain, inside the bubble,
- 1:39and we have already won, though for all practical
- 1:44appearances, the battle still rages around us.
