- 2:16Speaker 1: I know you're busy, but can you can you be
- 2:18Speaker 1: a regular monthly guest on my show? I've never offered
- 2:21Speaker 1: that to anybody, but I want to do it to
- 2:23Speaker 1: bring it to you because you cover so many layers
- 2:25Speaker 1: of entertainment and uh, you kind of like three sixty
- 2:28Speaker 1: with me. And so when I'm talking to you, I
- 2:29Speaker 1: don't feel like I'm pigeonhole in the conversation. I'm asking
- 2:33Speaker 1: you in public and front of all my my listeners,
- 2:35Speaker 1: my fans, will you do my show once a month
- 2:39Speaker 1: media prints, I will greatly accept wrap up telling Russian
- 2:47Speaker 1: McDonald never first of all, Rushan Rashan McDonald. But that's
- 2:53Speaker 1: all right, and we get that straight. And but the
- 2:56Speaker 1: thing about it is that what I want you to
- 2:57Speaker 1: know is that I want you to be on my
- 2:59Speaker 1: show in the regular basis. Mum. I feel that you
- 3:03Speaker 1: will deliver entertainment on a high level. So with that
- 3:06Speaker 1: being said, what's going on out there in the entertainment world? Okay? Okay?
- 3:11Speaker 1: So of course I'm going to be coming to you
- 3:12Speaker 1: guys giving you everything entrepreneurship. So of course we follow
- 3:16Speaker 1: these celebrities were all up in their life, but the
- 3:19Speaker 1: one aspect of their life that they never showcase is
- 3:22Speaker 1: that a lot of these celebrities dabble into entrepreneurship. Of course,
- 3:27Speaker 1: entrepreneurneurship is on the rise. Everyone wants to work from themselves.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Who doesn't want to be their own boss. So I'm
- 3:36Speaker 1: gonna give you guys a few celebrities that you may
- 3:39Speaker 1: not know or even entrepreneurs that are paving the way.
- 3:42Speaker 1: They name a couple of name a couple of them,
- 3:43Speaker 1: so we know where you're going with that. Okay, So
- 3:46Speaker 1: first we're gonna talk about actress Sophia the Guard. So
- 3:49Speaker 1: of course we know her Rooms to Go Queen exactly.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Of course, everyone loves her for Modern Family, her cover
- 3:57Speaker 1: Girl commercials, her hair commercial UM. But little tho people
- 4:01Speaker 1: know that she has a company called ebby Um. It's
- 4:04Speaker 1: a subscription based underwear company. So yes, you could just
- 4:09Speaker 1: buy a subscription and they'll shift you underwear each month.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And what made it um even more ethic was as
- 4:15Speaker 1: of July twenty eighteen, she's become one of the most
- 4:18Speaker 1: philanthropical famous entrepreneurs. And it's be due to her business
- 4:22Speaker 1: actually donating tempera cent of itself to helping women, um
- 4:27Speaker 1: get small loans to start their businesses. So her entrepreneurship
- 4:31Speaker 1: is opening the door for more entrepreneurships to come. And
- 4:35Speaker 1: it's really um with the empowerment seven Bar Foundation, right correct,
- 4:40Speaker 1: seven Bar Foundation. And so it's now is it happening
- 4:43Speaker 1: all women or women of Latino or African American or
- 4:48Speaker 1: just general market, just women who are trying poverty related
- 4:51Speaker 1: trying to get into small business. So it's actually dedicated
- 4:54Speaker 1: to low income and poverty women in poverty. UM just
- 4:59Speaker 1: broke was no color, no no cuor knows no color.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So it actually helps and giving them a chance to
- 5:08Speaker 1: be the breadwinners. So it's wellcast. Well I'm a fan
- 5:12Speaker 1: of hers because you know she she really is a
- 5:16Speaker 1: person who's taking advantage of her gifts. You know, Modern
- 5:20Speaker 1: Family is her base. She has not left that show.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You know, like I said, I see on those rooms
- 5:25Speaker 1: the gold commercials. She has a commercial I think with
- 5:27Speaker 1: her son, who looks handsome. You know, I just saw
- 5:29Speaker 1: a commercial with this Hulu commercial with her bar friend.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You know what I'm gonna like. Okay, you really like
- 5:35Speaker 1: you're cool with just keeping your family, and she's keeping
- 5:38Speaker 1: family employed. She's not gonna get to check, but she
- 5:40Speaker 1: shares the check with the family members. So I really
- 5:43Speaker 1: like what she's doing because I think she's authentic. I
- 5:46Speaker 1: think she's real. That's why I like. And it's hard.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think she's so popular and she's willing to be
- 5:51Speaker 1: able to you know, you know a lot of people
- 5:53Speaker 1: sell stuff and you go, oh, they just when it
- 5:55Speaker 1: when actually, when she comes on TV, I'm actually, I mean,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I'm I'm excited about her personality, even though I know,
- 6:02Speaker 1: I know that she doesn't actually sit on that sofa
- 6:04Speaker 1: that I'm about to buy, but that she's happy about
- 6:07Speaker 1: me sitting on it. But then as you just open
- 6:10Speaker 1: your eyes just seeing her in the whole new life,
- 6:12Speaker 1: Yes it does. Now. Never tell everybody Kevin Durant. Now,
- 6:15Speaker 1: Kevin Durant, all these all these athletes out there. You know,
- 6:17Speaker 1: you got Lebron James, you got TV shows, step Farm,
- 6:21Speaker 1: step Far Courage, Steph Curry. He has a big old
- 6:24Speaker 1: one side, this huge deal with Sony. I think the
- 6:27Speaker 1: largest sports related entertainment package in the history of Hollywood,
- 6:32Speaker 1: not Kevin Durant. And I've never assumed Kevin Durant will
- 6:35Speaker 1: go there. Kevin Durand doesn't you know, he isn't come
- 6:38Speaker 1: across as a guy who will be in an entertainment business.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I know he can dunk, I know he can shoot.
- 6:43Speaker 1: But why would Kevin Durant going to the entertainment business
- 6:47Speaker 1: tell me about that? Well, I think Kevin Durant kindly,
- 6:50Speaker 1: he finally wants a piece of the path. He's seeing
- 6:54Speaker 1: that the world is evolving and so um he's stepping
- 6:56Speaker 1: into the entrepreneur entrepreneurship world within entertainment. Um. He has
- 7:01Speaker 1: Durant Media, which is going to be a media company
- 7:04Speaker 1: providing videography, photography, things related to TV shows. And he
- 7:09Speaker 1: is partnering with Apple and UM Brian Grazers um Imagine
- 7:15Speaker 1: Television to create a basketball team scriptort it drama for Apple.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So and we know right there and we know that's
- 7:26Speaker 1: the future, you know, because of the fact that had
- 7:28Speaker 1: Kobe doing something like that, you know he was doing
- 7:32Speaker 1: for for ESPN plus, Well, he was doing play by
- 7:35Speaker 1: play giving us his opinion of different different moves to
- 7:38Speaker 1: the NBA playoffs. So they're they're taking these athletes with
- 7:42Speaker 1: these tremendous social media following and also who resonate with
- 7:47Speaker 1: that young demo, and and and and taking their brand
- 7:50Speaker 1: to be able to hopefully follow them to their platform.
- 7:53Speaker 1: So that's what they're doing with Kevin Durant. I see
- 7:55Speaker 1: then Apple was saying, Okay, Brian, who's famous for so
- 7:59Speaker 1: many movies. The Murphrey's career has been tied to him,
- 8:02Speaker 1: Run Howard's career has been tied to him. One of
- 8:04Speaker 1: the great movie producers in Hollywood is him, is Brian.
- 8:09Speaker 1: And so now he's tied with Kevin Durant, who we
- 8:12Speaker 1: know as an elite basketball player. So now that's going
- 8:16Speaker 1: into the scripted world again. That doesn't mean that it's
- 8:19Speaker 1: tied to ratings, is tied to streaming, it's tied to engagement,
- 8:22Speaker 1: it's tied to that's a whole new ball game in
- 8:26Speaker 1: itself and the door for a lot of new actors.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And we also got to be able to give shout,
- 8:31Speaker 1: like we're going in this direction about athletes, we gotta
- 8:33Speaker 1: bring out Shaquille O'Neill. Seaquille O'Neill has to be the
- 8:37Speaker 1: number one basketball or sports figure in promoting products. Si
- 8:43Speaker 1: Seaquille nell is a beast, and I mean I was
- 8:46Speaker 1: watching our Real Sports about him and and how he's
- 8:50Speaker 1: all how he's been able to take his brand and
- 8:52Speaker 1: to be able to monetize it and to be able
- 8:55Speaker 1: to make it much more profitable as well as the
- 8:57Speaker 1: thing I like about these guys is the fact that
- 9:00Speaker 1: we have Byron Davis. He's on the show today. So
- 9:02Speaker 1: what you're bringing up is very timely about athletes who
- 9:05Speaker 1: have started to monetize their brand off court and to
- 9:09Speaker 1: be seen as entrepreneurs and not just athletics. You know exactly.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I think that was Laura, it was from Fox News
- 9:17Speaker 1: Network just told Lebron James just to dribble, Just keep
- 9:20Speaker 1: dribbling and stop talking. And so because athletes are perceived
- 9:24Speaker 1: there's only that lane of they can only be athletic.
- 9:28Speaker 1: What we're seeing now that it becomes very smart businesspeople
- 9:33Speaker 1: investing I think then Kobe like investing um some type
- 9:36Speaker 1: of power aide and six million dollars turned into like
- 9:40Speaker 1: three hundred million dollars. They It's like I said, no
- 9:44Speaker 1: one wants to work for the Everyone wants to work
- 9:46Speaker 1: for themselves now, so basketball can only lead you for
- 9:49Speaker 1: so long, but you can have your own career that
- 9:52Speaker 1: you can fall back on when basketball is no more. Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 1: and that's that's really important. Not tell me about this,
- 9:57Speaker 1: uh this twenty one Savage. I saw this, Uh this
- 10:01Speaker 1: this on the on the news. Uh this Opportunity Hub
- 10:04Speaker 1: the nation's leading inclusive ecosystem building platform. What exactly is that?
- 10:08Speaker 1: I've heard that a lot. It's been popping up in trends.
- 10:11Speaker 1: What exactly it's twenty one Savage? So one Savage is
- 10:15Speaker 1: like one of the new crazy, the new uh artists
- 10:18Speaker 1: out here that you know, of course has does. It's
- 10:20Speaker 1: a little younger fan base. I thought I thought that
- 10:24Speaker 1: was a company. Savage is really he's a rapper. He's
- 10:30Speaker 1: a rapper, so you wouldn't that's a name One Savage.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I thought that was like a company because he goes
- 10:36Speaker 1: on little hip company. And there's the matter. They're laughing
- 10:39Speaker 1: at Roshan, She's laughing so hard. Okay, it's a rapper,
- 10:44Speaker 1: somebody that people turn up to, actually turning up to
- 10:48Speaker 1: some entrepreneurship. And so what exactly is he doing? Um
- 10:53Speaker 1: so with um Opportunity Hub. He was now going to
- 10:56Speaker 1: be sitting on the board of Advisors for it's UM
- 10:59Speaker 1: the year UM. It helps with creating and producing eco
- 11:05Speaker 1: friendly and innovative things for future entrepreneurs and innovators. Uh.
- 11:09Speaker 1: It helps with the sustaining multi generated wealth, and it
- 11:13Speaker 1: creates more opportunities for future entrepreneurs as well as innovators.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So he'll be helping a lot within the tech world.
- 11:21Speaker 1: So of course we see Apple is thriving, so he'll
- 11:23Speaker 1: be kinda with the companies that are behind the companies
- 11:28Speaker 1: we know of software. What's the interesting thing about it
- 11:30Speaker 1: is that, you know, let's let's look at that the
- 11:32Speaker 1: world has changed. The most powerful people are in social
- 11:35Speaker 1: media and the Kardashians, right, and nobody else. Nobody saw
- 11:39Speaker 1: that coming. I remember several let's say, like five years ago,
- 11:43Speaker 1: people are blasting the Kardashians. You know, they can't act,
- 11:47Speaker 1: they're irrelevant, they're just reality stars. Now the cover of
- 11:51Speaker 1: Fortune of Force magazine, Uh, Jenner, she's a billionaire. You know,
- 11:57Speaker 1: they make a comment about Snapchat and the stock drops.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So what we're finding now is that the game has changed,
- 12:04Speaker 1: and we see now why the millennial generation say they
- 12:07Speaker 1: can't be entrepreneurs because guess what they see instant success
- 12:10Speaker 1: right in front of them. Whereas I was growing up,
- 12:13Speaker 1: my dad was a drug driver, so all I saw
- 12:15Speaker 1: was long term. I'm gonna be at that job twenty years.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I'm getting married. Maybe get a house to that want,
- 12:21Speaker 1: maybe a yard I want, maybe a dog here, live
- 12:23Speaker 1: your dog, another dog, give me you know, the kids
- 12:26Speaker 1: move away, then I'm sitting around and looking old Millennials
- 12:29Speaker 1: don't think that way. Millennials say, look, I wanted right
- 12:31Speaker 1: now because guess what, everybody else got it. Anybody else
- 12:34Speaker 1: got it right now. Why can't I have it right now?
- 12:36Speaker 1: And so so so with somebody like twenty one Savage,
- 12:39Speaker 1: and I look at everybody and what I created to
- 12:41Speaker 1: show money making conversation is about opportunity. And I really
- 12:44Speaker 1: want you to come on here once some more just
- 12:46Speaker 1: to talk about these things, because it allows me to
- 12:48Speaker 1: go inside my head and also to expand a brand
- 12:51Speaker 1: of money making conversations outside of just these interviews, because
- 12:55Speaker 1: there's a lot more to be said, a lot more
- 12:57Speaker 1: to be offered in the world of entrepreneurship, entertainment, and uh,
- 13:01Speaker 1: what better person delivered than media prints As long as
- 13:04Speaker 1: as long as you say my name right, media prints
- 13:06Speaker 1: rus Sean McDonald. You come, then you're gonna get You're
