- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things and its not me good. It has
- 0:24Speaker 1: to other. Please, I don't join jo. Do you turn?
- 1:10Speaker 1: You're going you gotta turn to turn them out. Turn
- 1:43Speaker 1: You haven't got to turn them out to turn the
- 1:46Speaker 1: water the water got me? Come come on your tha
- 2:01Speaker 1: uh huh, I sure will. A good morning everybody, y'all
- 2:05Speaker 1: listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now, one
- 2:09Speaker 1: it only Steve Harvey got a radio show. You know,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I think I ought to explain something to y'all. You
- 2:14Speaker 1: know when I when I wake up in the morning
- 2:16Speaker 1: and I say, dig me now, what I'm asking you
- 2:20Speaker 1: to do is it's old school, you know, man, And
- 2:22Speaker 1: you know you say old people say I dig You
- 2:25Speaker 1: know Dad never stop saying it. Sorry, but dig me now.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It's just I want you to I don't you really
- 2:32Speaker 1: feel me? I don't you to understand what I'm saying,
- 2:35Speaker 1: because really, this morning inspiration is all given in the
- 2:39Speaker 1: spirit of sharing and love. It ain't about to expose
- 2:43Speaker 1: me in any way. That's not the purpose of it.
- 2:46Speaker 1: But I found that in my morning inspiration that it's
- 2:50Speaker 1: best that I use some things about myself, because I mean,
- 2:53Speaker 1: what better example can I use? Because I know me,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I know what's happened to me. I knew exactly how
- 2:58Speaker 1: I felt all along the way concerning almost everything, every
- 3:02Speaker 1: aspect of my life. I now fully do really understand
- 3:06Speaker 1: why God had my life spend the way it spun.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And here's the part that I want to give to
- 3:12Speaker 1: you this morning, that first of all, whatever position you
- 3:16Speaker 1: find yourself in today, we kind of come to one
- 3:19Speaker 1: realization that we got ourselves there. We put ourselves there
- 3:24Speaker 1: by a series of thoughts and actions. Thoughts turn into things.
- 3:30Speaker 1: That's very important to know. So let's look at both
- 3:34Speaker 1: sides of it. For people who think negative thoughts, it
- 3:39Speaker 1: turns into negative things, and the direct opposite is true.
- 3:45Speaker 1: For those who think positive thoughts, it turns into positive things.
- 3:51Speaker 1: That's the deal. It's as simple as that, folks. I
- 3:56Speaker 1: cannot break it down any cleaner, I cannot make it
- 4:01Speaker 1: any clearer. Thoughts become things. So the one glaring question
- 4:08Speaker 1: for all of us always is on a daily basis,
- 4:12Speaker 1: what are you thinking? What are your thoughts? What are
- 4:15Speaker 1: you thinking? What are your thoughts? Because I can assure you,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and it's not by or promise of mind. This is
- 4:25Speaker 1: not a theory that Steve Harvey then came up with.
- 4:29Speaker 1: This is a fact of life. This is biblical, this
- 4:33Speaker 1: is spiritual, this is written, this is philosophical. This is
- 4:39Speaker 1: the law of the universe. However, you need to drink
- 4:42Speaker 1: this medicine to take to get it down and feel
- 4:45Speaker 1: what I'm saying to you. This is just the way
- 4:48Speaker 1: it is now and here the cold part, folks, It
- 4:51Speaker 1: don't matter if you believe me or not. It does
- 4:55Speaker 1: not matter if you have never been explained the or not.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And it does not matter if you think it works
- 5:04Speaker 1: in your life or not. It don't matter. Listen to me.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It is the way it is. It is as scriptural,
- 5:12Speaker 1: it is as spiritual, it is philosophical, it's just whatever.
- 5:16Speaker 1: It's the law of the universe. You call whatever you
- 5:18Speaker 1: want to call. However, you got to dress this thing
- 5:21Speaker 1: up to put it into phase that you can feel me.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I want you to feel me now, because this all
- 5:27Speaker 1: it is. So. When I say that you are where
- 5:31Speaker 1: we are today because we thought ourselves here, or your
- 5:34Speaker 1: best to believe that's true, you thought yourself here. No
- 5:38Speaker 1: one else. See, let me explain something. I got people
- 5:42Speaker 1: around me who so badly want to take credit for it,
- 5:47Speaker 1: but I don't allow it. But because I keep pointing
- 5:52Speaker 1: to the heavens, I keep pointing and trying to say
- 5:56Speaker 1: it out loud as many times as I can without
- 5:59Speaker 1: being so offensive, that my life is by design, by
- 6:05Speaker 1: grace and mercy, by blessings from God. My life is
- 6:09Speaker 1: because God has seen it to be so. Oh, but
- 6:12Speaker 1: I got plenty of people around me want credit for
- 6:15Speaker 1: it and want you to not give credit to God
- 6:18Speaker 1: and give it to them. I got that. I got that,
- 6:21Speaker 1: but I understand that. See, I understand what that is.
- 6:25Speaker 1: That's a person whose design is to get the credit.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But it's okay. It's so clear to me what my
- 6:32Speaker 1: father was saying to me. Man, I get it. As
- 6:34Speaker 1: I get older and older, he always said to me, son,
- 6:38Speaker 1: everybody come with you, can't go with you. See, you know,
- 6:43Speaker 1: I don't know how people say that in church. You know,
- 6:45Speaker 1: sometimes they go people come into your life for seasons,
- 6:48Speaker 1: and I guess the same thing. You know, they season up,
- 6:51Speaker 1: they're gone, well, you know, and then but then hither
- 6:55Speaker 1: way they try to hold you though or you're gonna
- 6:57Speaker 1: forget where you come from. Oh, you ain't gonna keep
- 7:00Speaker 1: it real no more. I don't want to go back
- 7:04Speaker 1: where I come from. I don't want to keep it
- 7:06Speaker 1: that real no more. It was real enough for me
- 7:09Speaker 1: living in a car. I had enough of that real.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I don't gonna keep it real now. I don't keep
- 7:14Speaker 1: it real. I want to go keep it dreamy. I
- 7:16Speaker 1: want to go keep it fantasize it. I want. I
- 7:19Speaker 1: want to. I want to keep it out of this world.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I want to keep it off the chain. I want
- 7:23Speaker 1: to keep it moving. I want to keep it ball
- 7:25Speaker 1: and I want to see what that's like. So naw,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I ain't gonna forget where I come from. But you
- 7:30Speaker 1: ain't gonna hold me to that dog. See, thoughts become
- 7:34Speaker 1: things all day long? Where's your vision board? Where are
- 7:40Speaker 1: the things that you wan't written down? What do you
- 7:43Speaker 1: think about the most? How grateful are you for what
- 7:47Speaker 1: all God has done for you? Where you at with that?
- 7:51Speaker 1: See here another law? If thoughts become things, let me
- 7:57Speaker 1: ask you this. If all you thinking about is your debt,
- 8:02Speaker 1: if all you're thinking about is what you ain't got,
- 8:05Speaker 1: If all you thinking about or is all woe, is me.
- 8:09Speaker 1: If all you're thinking about is every time I turn around,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm sick. If all you're thinking about it's the things
- 8:16Speaker 1: in life that you're lacking. If that's all you're thinking about,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and if thoughts become things, how much debt you think
- 8:27Speaker 1: you're gonna stay in, how much, how much how much
- 8:31Speaker 1: lacking you think you find to feel your life with?
- 8:35Speaker 1: How much most stuff you find to not have because
- 8:38Speaker 1: you keep thinking about it all the time. When you're
- 8:43Speaker 1: gonna be grateful, when you're gonna say thank you, when
- 8:47Speaker 1: it's gonna come out your mouth, Man, that I may
- 8:51Speaker 1: not be where I want to be, but I show
- 8:53Speaker 1: am grateful for what you've given me so far, for
- 8:56Speaker 1: the things I have to day because I don't have
- 8:59Speaker 1: to have these things? You know that does? That then
- 9:02Speaker 1: opens up room for more stuff to come your way?
- 9:05Speaker 1: To be grateful fall. But if you're gonna be ungrateful,
- 9:09Speaker 1: oh man, let me ask you something. I ain't God,
- 9:11Speaker 1: I don't claim to be, But let me ask you something. Man.
- 9:14Speaker 1: If you're ungrateful for the things we've got, if we
- 9:17Speaker 1: can't show no gratitude for what we have, why would
- 9:22Speaker 1: God give us some most stuff to be ungrateful for
- 9:25Speaker 1: why would he do that? For tada? Anybody feel me
- 9:30Speaker 1: right now? So when I say come on, y'all, dig me, now,
- 9:34Speaker 1: do you understand why I say dig me? Because I
- 9:36Speaker 1: want you to feel me. I want you to understand
- 9:38Speaker 1: and come to the understanding, not saying you ain't. Because
- 9:40Speaker 1: so many people got a deeper understanding than me about
- 9:43Speaker 1: this whole thing. I promise you they do, but they
- 9:46Speaker 1: listen to me. I'm just trying to get you to
- 9:48Speaker 1: walk up in this light, man, so you can go
- 9:50Speaker 1: on with your life and quit tripping yourself out with
- 9:52Speaker 1: your thoughts, because thoughts become things all right? All day
- 9:56Speaker 1: you're listening show, ladies and gentlemen, it is here the
- 10:03Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Another great day filled with gratitude,
- 10:09Speaker 1: which leads to the proper attitude. Thanking him allows you
- 10:17Speaker 1: to be introduced to more blessings from him. It's a
- 10:22Speaker 1: simple thing. The more you thank him for, the more
- 10:26Speaker 1: he gives you to be thankful for. That's a principle
- 10:30Speaker 1: of success. Please burn it in your mind and live
- 10:34Speaker 1: your life accordingly. This is to Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 10:38Speaker 1: starring Shirley Strawberry, Colin Farrell, care Spates, Mississippi, Monica, the Legend,
- 10:46Speaker 1: Nephew Tommy and ladies and gentlemen, that damn Jay Ain'tthony
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yes Brown Brown Junior. What's on your mind? You know? Uncle?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Yesterday and closing, Man, you said something had me really
- 11:06Speaker 1: thinking and I'm just thinking about this unc you said
- 11:09Speaker 1: that pressure really ain't crushing you, because my mind, the
- 11:13Speaker 1: pressure I'll be feeling, man, is like I got to
- 11:15Speaker 1: get it, or if I don't get it, I'm a
- 11:17Speaker 1: failure if I failed man, as a lot of people
- 11:19Speaker 1: depend upon me. But I thought it was really interested
- 11:21Speaker 1: is how you look at pressure that the pressure really
- 11:23Speaker 1: ain't crushing you. Pressure is not designed to crush you.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Pressure designed to push something out of you that's buried
- 11:32Speaker 1: on the inside of you that's going to be necessary
- 11:36Speaker 1: for you to attain in order to get the things
- 11:40Speaker 1: you've asked God for. That's what the pressure is for,
- 11:46Speaker 1: to push something inside of you out so you can
- 11:51Speaker 1: have it to you to get you to where you're
- 11:54Speaker 1: asking God to take you. I'll give you an example.
- 11:58Speaker 1: You're under pressure to perform a certain way. You think
- 12:02Speaker 1: this is what you're calling me, right, You're under pressure
- 12:04Speaker 1: to develop, you under pressure to produce. Right now, what
- 12:08Speaker 1: that pressure is doing is is making you dig down
- 12:11Speaker 1: on the inside to discover the necessary tools, attributes, and
- 12:17Speaker 1: characteristics that you possess on the inside that will allow
- 12:21Speaker 1: you to attain, develop and produce the things you're asking for.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Because every dream comes with a test. You can't have
- 12:33Speaker 1: the dream and don't get the tests. In order to
- 12:35Speaker 1: get to something, you got to go through something. Ain't
- 12:40Speaker 1: nothing just right on the table in front of you.
- 12:43Speaker 1: In order to get to it, you got to go
- 12:45Speaker 1: through it. And so the test are there to design
- 12:49Speaker 1: you so that you can develop the things on the
- 12:51Speaker 1: inside of you. That's what pressure is, Julia, man, that's
- 12:55Speaker 1: what pressure and wis. I give you the same knowledge.
- 12:59Speaker 1: And it's like when you when you got the pet.
- 13:02Speaker 1: That's a lot of pressure, you know what I'm saying.
- 13:05Speaker 1: That's a lot of pressure. But you got to go
- 13:08Speaker 1: Let him go ahead exactly example, just get something going
- 13:12Speaker 1: to the bad prone that's but you got to go
- 13:15Speaker 1: through something. All I said, I'll be right back. See
- 13:21Speaker 1: that a knowledge, reason why reason, a very thing right
- 13:27Speaker 1: there stopping him? All right? Thank God? To look at
- 13:32Speaker 1: the time, uh coming up at thirty two minutes after
- 13:36Speaker 1: the hour of the nephew will run that prank back
- 13:39Speaker 1: right after this. I ain't the only one felt this pressure.
- 13:43Speaker 1: You're listening, It is time now to run that prank
- 13:49Speaker 1: back with the nephew. What you got for is now
- 13:52Speaker 1: well earlier, you know, aunc and I was giving Junior
- 13:55Speaker 1: some advice, some knowledge and wisdom about I was I
- 13:58Speaker 1: was doing that. That's an ex example of pressure, y'all.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I gotta sit and act like my you know, example
- 14:04Speaker 1: wasn't good. But anyway, up pressure busts a pipe that
- 14:12Speaker 1: was my dad is sick. This prank is also about pressure.
- 14:15Speaker 1: That's right. Here's your son pied in the pool. See that?
- 14:20Speaker 1: Why do you pee in the pool because of pressure?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Try to make this line to coach. I think I
- 14:28Speaker 1: feel my pressure. Help coming, cat dog, if you would hello, Hello,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach Can you hear me? Yes, I'm
- 14:36Speaker 1: trying to reach Anastasia. This is she? How you doing? Listen?
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'm glenning the lifeguard over here at the pool here
- 14:43Speaker 1: in the apartment complex. Yes, sir, do you have a
- 14:47Speaker 1: you have a son named yes? Sir? Is everything yeah? Yeah?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Everything is fine? I mean a quick question, man, we
- 14:55Speaker 1: got a situation here with what's going on, We're not
- 15:00Speaker 1: you're not gonna be allowed to uh to let him
- 15:02Speaker 1: swim here at the pool and the complex anymore. What
- 15:06Speaker 1: we got him from me? Your son? I mean he
- 15:10Speaker 1: swims there pretty much every every every other day. You know,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm always here seeing him swim, But it seemed like
- 15:16Speaker 1: he is. You know, we've been trying to figure out
- 15:18Speaker 1: who it is. You'll your fun keep peeing in the pool,
- 15:22Speaker 1: slim man. I don't want to get into it with you,
- 15:27Speaker 1: your son. We finally narrowed it down. Your son is
- 15:30Speaker 1: the one that's pining in the pool every day, and
- 15:32Speaker 1: you know it's really a bad thing. Uh, we can't
- 15:35Speaker 1: continue to keep letting him come over here. We gotta
- 15:37Speaker 1: ban him from the pool, so we ain't nash it
- 15:41Speaker 1: like this. Did you check the to be he's gonna
- 15:45Speaker 1: say it's my song and then the pool. But your
- 15:47Speaker 1: son is the one to be making faces and stuff,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and I know that's what he's doing here in their pin.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Your son is the one that's pining faces. He'd be
- 15:55Speaker 1: making faces, so I know here and their pa got
- 15:58Speaker 1: to do with making faces pool or something. What you're
- 16:03Speaker 1: gonna saying in the pool because he's making safe. I'm
- 16:06Speaker 1: not gonna go back lasting like that. I teach my
- 16:09Speaker 1: kids better than that. He ain't been a pool lady.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I'm not gonna All I'm saying is he can't come
- 16:14Speaker 1: over here and swim anymore. He's ben from the pool
- 16:17Speaker 1: until we rectify this problem. Not y's not saying when
- 16:21Speaker 1: he gonna be in the pool and we all pool
- 16:24Speaker 1: were gonna be there, And that's a man of fact.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I'm thinking, I'm kids to the pool. No, we're not allow. Man,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I'm not being the city and go back and forth
- 16:32Speaker 1: with you all. I'm trying to tell you was this
- 16:34Speaker 1: right here? Your son has been peeing in the pool.
- 16:37Speaker 1: My boss wants me to bed him. If he's not
- 16:39Speaker 1: the one, then we will allow him to come back later.
- 16:42Speaker 1: But right now with singling people out and your son,
- 16:45Speaker 1: you know, it just seems like he's the one that's
- 16:47Speaker 1: doing it. What's your name? Was? My name is Glenn?
- 16:50Speaker 1: I'm Glenning the lifeguard. That's who I am. No, what's
- 16:54Speaker 1: the real name? N I was supposed to be calling me.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You ain't got no bin this scud of my I'm
- 17:00Speaker 1: my son, no fool? How you everything to get. I'm
- 17:03Speaker 1: not at liberty to give my last name. The bottom
- 17:06Speaker 1: line is we can't come in the bottom what but
- 17:10Speaker 1: you don't live to come down? But you can't give
- 17:12Speaker 1: me your own name. Okay, listen, I'm not All I'm
- 17:15Speaker 1: supposed to do is call you, gonna let you know
- 17:17Speaker 1: that we're banned in your son from getting in the pool.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Once you're talking about you can't ban my father playing
- 17:23Speaker 1: the life board. Get a real job, a summer job.
- 17:27Speaker 1: You got a job, and I calling my fun You said,
- 17:32Speaker 1: you know what you ain't about and you can't stop
- 17:34Speaker 1: nobody who's come next pool? And we're gonna be damn
- 17:37Speaker 1: though tomorrow again. And if you did do your job
- 17:42Speaker 1: and clean that man, let me say this to you.
- 17:45Speaker 1: If your son comes to the pool tomorrow and get
- 17:47Speaker 1: in the pool, I'm snatching your son out of the pool.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I wish you. I wish you would because you don't
- 17:54Speaker 1: need a lifeguard. You said, trying a pool. I wish
- 17:58Speaker 1: you would. What what time to pull open? At ten o'clock?
- 18:02Speaker 1: We're gonna be there nine Saturday. You got me up,
- 18:05Speaker 1: talk about you're gonna snatch my son out the pool?
- 18:08Speaker 1: You know mine? Everybody pool mine, lady. The problem is
- 18:15Speaker 1: whatever has been singled out all the other kids, appointing
- 18:18Speaker 1: us and saying he's the one that's doing it. Your
- 18:20Speaker 1: son is the one that's being your boat. He's feeling
- 18:23Speaker 1: whatever whatever. For right now, all I'm asking is is
- 18:29Speaker 1: keep your son away from the pool for the next
- 18:30Speaker 1: two weeks. If we fell not that it's not him,
- 18:32Speaker 1: will allow him to come back. Okay, ain't me. He
- 18:35Speaker 1: ain't staying away from the pool for two weeks. If
- 18:37Speaker 1: he do, he's gonna come back and do some motion pool.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna taping the whole two weeks with it and
- 18:43Speaker 1: go back to that talking about my son to pool.
- 18:46Speaker 1: You can tell you about his faith. You said what
- 18:48Speaker 1: you Bob said, He Bob be watching life you watch
- 18:53Speaker 1: then the pool? You know mine. You must not know
- 18:57Speaker 1: what you're talking to. I will be down as a
- 18:59Speaker 1: model man. I'm gonna find my kids. And they don't
- 19:02Speaker 1: get the pool too. Don't do a little kids go
- 19:06Speaker 1: without getting them in the pool. Let me tell you something.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Don't you bring them kids over there and bring them
- 19:10Speaker 1: in the pool. No, none of your children. I don't
- 19:13Speaker 1: give it. And what you say, you don't run life guard,
- 19:17Speaker 1: get rid of lady. Listen, lady, I'm not gonna go
- 19:21Speaker 1: continue to go back and forth. I got one more
- 19:22Speaker 1: thing I need to say to you what I'm done. Okay,
- 19:24Speaker 1: one more thing that I'm done. You ain't got to
- 19:26Speaker 1: say to me. I do I want to saying. I
- 19:28Speaker 1: do need to say to you what you have to
- 19:30Speaker 1: say to me. I need to say this. This is
- 19:33Speaker 1: left you Tommy from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You
- 19:37Speaker 1: just got Frank from your homeboard. You hello, kid, look man,
- 19:52Speaker 1: look it up you timmy, doctor man. You want to
- 19:55Speaker 1: get this boo y'all? Place you mus Yeah, I'll know
- 20:00Speaker 1: you're gonna played too. What place? But none. I'm walking
- 20:05Speaker 1: towards them now. I thought you were coming to the
- 20:08Speaker 1: pool tomorrow. I was coming to the office today. They
- 20:12Speaker 1: stay was opening the fivecock. I'll to tell me. I know,
- 20:14Speaker 1: come foso by myself in the pool. I was for
- 20:17Speaker 1: the common. Now take care of them kids, baby. I
- 20:22Speaker 1: got one more thing. I got to ask you. What
- 20:23Speaker 1: is the baddest radio show in the land, the Steve
- 20:28Speaker 1: Harping More boy, that boy is a genius. Boom you know? Next?

- 21:38Speaker 1: her husband is messing with my mom, not me. My
- 21:41Speaker 1: mom knows I'm in the middle, so she advised me
- 21:44Speaker 1: to quit. Do you agree with her? Yeah, he probably
- 21:47Speaker 1: need to get out, Yeah yeah, yeah, but the wife, thanks, Hu,
- 21:54Speaker 1: You're gonna come in there one day and then even

- 22:31Speaker 1: a fifty five year old single woman and I let
- 22:33Speaker 1: my brothers stay with me while he sorts out his
- 22:35Speaker 1: marital problems. He's not trying to fix his marriage and
- 22:38Speaker 1: uses my home as a brothel. I set rules and
- 22:43Speaker 1: he breaks them all. I don't want him to be homeless,
- 22:45Speaker 1: but he's got to go. How do I got my
- 22:47Speaker 1: seventy four year old brother out of here? His ass
- 22:54Speaker 1: need to be out of home, somewhere you need, you need,
- 22:58Speaker 1: get him checked, then somewhere into a hole where he
- 23:01Speaker 1: can be a senior citizen. They all stay in the building. Seventyfold.
- 23:06Speaker 1: You just got a brothel in an old ass brothel.
- 23:10Speaker 1: You got, knowing the room and clean up all that,
- 23:13Speaker 1: all that medicine native left in there, and a steaming
- 23:18Speaker 1: and the hanters and everything you had to bring in
- 23:21Speaker 1: that you had bringing that power cord with the extra
- 23:24Speaker 1: outlets on it so they can plug up oxygen and
- 23:27Speaker 1: stuff while in there. You got the plug up or
- 23:31Speaker 1: hoover around out there in your garage and stuff for
- 23:34Speaker 1: a little power up. Yeah. Man, No, you got to
- 23:37Speaker 1: putting him money of the old as seventy for he
- 23:39Speaker 1: a player, you know he doing it? Yeah, and you
- 23:43Speaker 1: need to hide his peels that'll slow him down, or
- 23:46Speaker 1: just go back to his wife thort out his marital problem,
- 23:51Speaker 1: all right, assisted Lily and Maryland says, my husband and
- 23:58Speaker 1: I haven't opened relationship, and I was supposed to tell
- 24:02Speaker 1: him before I got with another man. I got caught
- 24:05Speaker 1: up and didn't tell him until I'd had sex twice
- 24:08Speaker 1: with this other guy. My husband is mad, and I
- 24:12Speaker 1: know it's because the guy is fine. Af Did I
- 24:14Speaker 1: go too far by getting someone finer than my husband's
- 24:21Speaker 1: Depending on who you're married to, you know, that might
- 24:24Speaker 1: not have been a real hard mood to me. Who
- 24:27Speaker 1: you're married to, if he all that fun. He wouldn't
- 24:29Speaker 1: be into an open marriage, so I'm assuming he a
- 24:31Speaker 1: real red glass looking do So I'm assuming pretty much
- 24:36Speaker 1: anybody you getting my top what you got. I can't
- 24:39Speaker 1: give you no advice because what you're asking me did
- 24:43Speaker 1: you go too far? But y'all got an open marriage.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I don't know the rules and no foolishness like this,
- 24:48Speaker 1: So don't call us with that. Just gonna do like
- 24:51Speaker 1: you're gonna do. I don't want to pass judgment on it.
- 24:54Speaker 1: It ain't you. Well, I'm just telling you to me
- 24:58Speaker 1: is ignance. So I don't have in here trying to
- 25:01Speaker 1: tell you how to live right when I think it ain't.
- 25:04Speaker 1: It ain't right for me, It ain't. I ain't nobody
- 25:07Speaker 1: else on this show considering it. Um any boy, I
- 25:11Speaker 1: can speak for myself. No, no, No time is saying no.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Then I know I'm not of the courtion. No, no,
- 25:19Speaker 1: the marriages on this show. Well, this food on this
- 25:25Speaker 1: other hand, like what was on the seventy fourth thing
- 25:29Speaker 1: that just happened. But go ahead, but wait, what come on?
- 25:34Speaker 1: Come on, dad, what you're gonna say? I'm just saying
- 25:38Speaker 1: the hold up, it's something to look into. Yeah, I
- 25:46Speaker 1: don't know enough about it. You're not gonna pass judgment
- 25:52Speaker 1: like Steve like I do. I mean, I don't know.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I don't just you know, hey, because some things I
- 25:58Speaker 1: don't know about so close minded on this show. It
- 26:01Speaker 1: ain't nothing you don't know about marriage, sir. Let's stop
- 26:05Speaker 1: that right now. You know, boy, what he don't know.
- 26:13Speaker 1: The only thing he don't know about marriage is just
- 26:17Speaker 1: hot together, staying together. He just never understood what it
- 26:24Speaker 1: was get a wife. Now every day that's the part
- 26:32Speaker 1: of Mary John like he's still here and walk to
- 26:40Speaker 1: kids and him too. Yeah, all right. Moving on to
- 26:44Speaker 1: Chris and Tulsa. Chris says, I have three children and
- 26:48Speaker 1: their father keeps telling me he's going to marry me.
- 26:51Speaker 1: The problem is that he's already married, and I have
- 26:54Speaker 1: believed in him and held him down for six years,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and he is reluctant to make us a family. How
- 26:59Speaker 1: do I move on with my kids? Are you easy?
- 27:03Speaker 1: You ain't got nothing holding you? So what do you mean?
- 27:08Speaker 1: How do you move on? Why don't you keep doing
- 27:10Speaker 1: like you've been doing except release the expectation that this
- 27:15Speaker 1: guy's gonna marry you who's already married. How do I
- 27:21Speaker 1: move on with my kids without that other lady's husband.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Just try to try that, because he's not your husband.
- 27:31Speaker 1: It's it's not that hard, it's really not. You're making
- 27:35Speaker 1: it way more difficult than it is. All you got
- 27:40Speaker 1: to do is move on and get child support and
- 27:43Speaker 1: get you somebody else. She's believed in him and held
- 27:48Speaker 1: him down for six years, Steve six years. But he
- 27:51Speaker 1: ain't held you down. And I don't know what you
- 27:54Speaker 1: call yourself holding him down unless he need unless he
- 27:57Speaker 1: real strong, and he needs two people to hold him down,
- 28:01Speaker 1: and his wife is doing it right now. Oh he
- 28:04Speaker 1: must be strong, yeah, oh he must be a lot.
- 28:10Speaker 1: She's been sleeping with him, and but you know, here's
- 28:13Speaker 1: what women thought. You just do it. He just loves
- 28:15Speaker 1: two women. Yeah, he loves two women. But you're not
- 28:19Speaker 1: getting equal treatment. I could promise you that. And she
- 28:23Speaker 1: has three children by him. How to hail him down?
- 28:26Speaker 1: What does that mean? Sleeping with him, taking care of
- 28:30Speaker 1: him financial? When you get through sleeping with him, you
- 28:33Speaker 1: ain't holding him down that good because he get up
- 28:35Speaker 1: and go home. You need to get some chance or
- 28:40Speaker 1: something here. You need to get some change. All these
- 28:42Speaker 1: people you're holding down. When you get through sleeping with him.
- 28:45Speaker 1: He do get up and go home. So you ain't
- 28:47Speaker 1: holding him down? Good, you need some chains. It's not
- 28:52Speaker 1: believing in him. He said. You believed in him and
- 28:57Speaker 1: held him down for six years. Woww yeah, come on now,
- 29:02Speaker 1: yeah that's baby. Yeah, yeah, this is awful. Yeah all right,
- 29:11Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, we'll have
- 29:13Speaker 1: some entertainment news for you right after this. You're listening
- 29:17Speaker 1: to show, okay. So Shack recently opened up about his
- 29:24Speaker 1: on a podcast interview about his twenty eleven divorced from
- 29:28Speaker 1: his ex wife Shannie. Shack repeatedly blamed himself for the divorce,
- 29:32Speaker 1: saying it was all me. We don't need to talk
- 29:35Speaker 1: about what I was doing, but I wasn't protecting her
- 29:38Speaker 1: and protecting those vowels. Sometimes, um, you live that double
- 29:43Speaker 1: life and get caught up. Take a listen. I had
- 29:45Speaker 1: the perfect situation. My wife was finer than a mug.
- 29:50Speaker 1: keV giving me baby, still finer than a mug. I
- 29:53Speaker 1: had it all. Just sometimes you and I don't make excuses.
- 29:56Speaker 1: I know I'm messed up, and then you know when
- 29:59Speaker 1: I didn't have that. I don't like to use the
- 30:02Speaker 1: D words. I don't really know what it is. But
- 30:04Speaker 1: I was lost seventy six dollars square for the house
- 30:07Speaker 1: by yourself, lost, no kids. Go to the gym, nobody
- 30:12Speaker 1: playing in the gym, and go to the room, nobody's there.
- 30:15Speaker 1: You you start to feel it. Wow, wow wow moment. Well,
- 30:23Speaker 1: I mean that's what Carlin said. If you know, it's
- 30:27Speaker 1: a grown man moment. You know it's but you know
- 30:31Speaker 1: it's good of him to admit it and to say
- 30:34Speaker 1: what it was. You know, it's just paused for thought.
- 30:36Speaker 1: You know a lot of people think, you know, I
- 30:38Speaker 1: just leave, but leave what though? You gotta leave everybody.
- 30:42Speaker 1: The voice ain't just you, Especially when you got kids.
- 30:46Speaker 1: It's tough and you realize you messed up what you had.
- 30:48Speaker 1: You know, out of the house. Ain't nobody in the
- 30:52Speaker 1: gym playing, Ain't nobody any man empty? I wouldn't. I
- 30:58Speaker 1: wouldn't even know what to man. Yeah all right, yeah,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I mean I really felt him and what he was saying.
- 31:07Speaker 1: So Jay any comments, Yes, Yes, sometimes you just want
- 31:11Speaker 1: that piece in quiet. You don't want anybody in the gym,
- 31:14Speaker 1: You don't want anybody. Sometimes you don't want that. But yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 31:27Speaker 1: I mean every where you move that's quiet. And you're
- 31:31Speaker 1: okay with that. You got turn on a lot of
- 31:33Speaker 1: TVs with it. Yeah, man, every library house. But you
- 31:42Speaker 1: don't you miss the sound of you know there. Listen, y'all, listen,
- 31:46Speaker 1: Listen to listen to this. Okay, quiet, you hear it.
- 31:52Speaker 1: It's so stupid shocked that well he knows. Listen, just listen.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Listen to share. Nobody's saying nothing. Okay, sometimes you want that,
- 32:06Speaker 1: and sometimes you want a wife and a family to
- 32:09Speaker 1: jay or whatever. Yeah, you're right, you're right, you know what.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Sometimes sometimes you do want quiet. I find that often
- 32:20Speaker 1: in my life, and I you know, and you know,
- 32:23Speaker 1: I go and create some moments you know, of quiet
- 32:27Speaker 1: in peace. But overall, I mean, look, man, it's sort
- 32:32Speaker 1: of it's it go both ways. You know. There's days
- 32:36Speaker 1: you're foward as days you ain't. But that's with anything.
- 32:38Speaker 1: But when you get by yourself, it's days you're faward
- 32:41Speaker 1: as days you hate. Yeah, but it's a whole lot
- 32:43Speaker 1: of days when you ain't. I don't want him, it's
- 32:48Speaker 1: a whole lot of days where you hate. Well, Shock says,
- 32:51Speaker 1: while he no longer has a wife, he still sees
- 32:53Speaker 1: himself as a provider and protector for their children. So
- 32:56Speaker 1: that's a good thing, and moved on and remarried. You
- 33:00Speaker 1: don't need seventy six dollars square feet quiet. You can
- 33:04Speaker 1: do that in fifteen hundred. That's what I'm doing. You
- 33:07Speaker 1: gotta have your house. You can get that in fifteen
- 33:11Speaker 1: hundred square feet. I'm doing it. You dropping knowledge, I
- 33:16Speaker 1: got knowledge, your quiet, you're working it out all that
- 33:22Speaker 1: walking around. Sit down in your living room and need
- 33:24Speaker 1: a kitchen. Sit down in your living room and sick
- 33:28Speaker 1: of kitchen. There's no more expensive partner, you know. I
- 33:40Speaker 1: sit down and you don't living knowledge. See your kitchen.
- 33:44Speaker 1: You ain't got to walk. You gotta walk around and
- 33:46Speaker 1: get to it. It's the same quiet, and it is quiet.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Ain't got ain't gonna go expensive? Quietly? What I got
- 33:56Speaker 1: quiet don't cost more than man stunting on your regert. Yeah,
- 34:06Speaker 1: I tell you on the nose, I getting here up,
- 34:08Speaker 1: I tell you only noise I getting here when that
- 34:10Speaker 1: ice maker turn off. I can't where I'm in here
- 34:12Speaker 1: out here, God, y'all. The first junior I feel when
- 34:23Speaker 1: you hear that, When you hear that a kick in,
- 34:25Speaker 1: I could be in a shower hear then a kick
- 34:28Speaker 1: one man. Yeah, noise like life. I ain't mad at you, Junior.
- 34:35Speaker 1: I've been there, man, I understand your best life. Bag. Yeah,
- 34:40Speaker 1: maybe know how far I came? Man, Thank you so
- 34:42Speaker 1: much man for this opportunity. You know how far I
- 34:44Speaker 1: came in my life? I didn't come on boy, come on, hey, Julian,
- 34:51Speaker 1: Hey Junior, what that fifteen huney square feet used to be?
- 34:55Speaker 1: Who seventeen? Yeah, that's when you're looking at the stove
- 35:03Speaker 1: and the bed. Have you ever lived in an efficiency? Yeah?
- 35:09Speaker 1: That's it. Yeah, that was my first one efficiency. Yeah.
- 35:13Speaker 1: You just just opened the door and that was it. Yeah, right,
- 35:21Speaker 1: bed in the wall, had a Murphy bed, had to
- 35:24Speaker 1: pull the bed down. That took up the entire space.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Once you left that bed down, you've got to be
- 35:32Speaker 1: thinking getting in it or lived in New York. All right,
- 35:44Speaker 1: But we learned something today about you today. Yes, we
- 35:49Speaker 1: are all right, Thank you guys. Coming up at twenty
- 35:54Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, we we'll look into the mind
- 35:56Speaker 1: of Jay Anthony Brown. Oh right after this, you're listening,
- 36:04Speaker 1: all right, Come on, Steve, introduce your buddy. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 36:08Speaker 1: please put your hands together for him. Jay Anthony Brown,
- 36:14Speaker 1: What up, everybody? What's going on? I know I have
- 36:17Speaker 1: been away for a while, and while I was away,
- 36:21Speaker 1: I would work on things, but because I wasn't on
- 36:24Speaker 1: the radio, I couldn't use them. Like I worked on
- 36:27Speaker 1: some songs, but you know, I wasn't here. Like I
- 36:30Speaker 1: worked on the song for Will Smith, but I wasn't.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Like Chris was the man I slapped, you know, but
- 36:36Speaker 1: then I didn't. I didn't finish it. So because I
- 36:42Speaker 1: wasn't here, and uh, the Black Judgments Jackson, I worked
- 36:48Speaker 1: on the song, but I wasn't here, Simon's Jackson. The
- 36:52Speaker 1: way they made you feel that that I didn't, I
- 36:57Speaker 1: didn't didn't go into it, man. And then the last
- 37:03Speaker 1: one is I got it from a kid's song. It's
- 37:06Speaker 1: very popular. If you got small kids, they know the song.
- 37:10Speaker 1: We don't talk about Jada's ball head. We don't talk
- 37:16Speaker 1: about Jada's ball head, man, no words, you know what
- 37:25Speaker 1: I mean. We don't talk about Jada's ball We don't need.
- 37:34Speaker 1: But the thing that I have today is we heard
- 37:37Speaker 1: a lot about what it's called the black card, the
- 37:41Speaker 1: black card. You know, you know, we need to take
- 37:44Speaker 1: your black card. So these are some things. And after
- 37:47Speaker 1: I do if you maybe the guys are adding about
- 37:50Speaker 1: the black card. If you don't know how to play
- 37:52Speaker 1: dominoes or spades, we need to get your black card. Yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 1: we need to get your If you've not seen color
- 38:00Speaker 1: purple three times, we might have to get it. Yeah.
- 38:09Speaker 1: If you don't have a drawer full of condiments, we
- 38:12Speaker 1: might have to get Yeah, catch ups, mustards, condiments, condiments.
- 38:23Speaker 1: If you never made fun of people at church, you
- 38:27Speaker 1: might have to. If you never completely washed up in
- 38:32Speaker 1: the sink, stupid we were kid. Yeah, take this black card,
- 38:44Speaker 1: I mean completely but ass naked, hitting the hot spots.
- 38:48Speaker 1: If you've never Yeah, what if you don't have a
- 38:52Speaker 1: favorite jam that you played real loud, we might have
- 38:58Speaker 1: to get that. And last, but not least, if you
- 39:03Speaker 1: don't have some white friends, we need to get your
- 39:08Speaker 1: damn black cord. All right, thank you, Jay, Still crazy
- 39:14Speaker 1: coming up at nine o'clock Eastern Jay Anthony Brown has
- 39:17Speaker 1: a very special announcement and you don't want to miss that,
- 39:21Speaker 1: and we'll be back right after this. You're listening to
- 39:24Speaker 1: the String Show amid the fallout from last month's Oscar
- 39:30Speaker 1: slap by Will Smith. It's infamous now, Producers or the
- 39:34Speaker 1: upcoming Tony Awards warned potential copycats to refrain from following
- 39:38Speaker 1: suit or they will face severe consequences. Event organizers said
- 39:44Speaker 1: the anti slap advisory they sent it out to potential
- 39:48Speaker 1: ticket holders. The Tony Awards has a strict no violence policy.
- 39:53Speaker 1: In the event of an incident, the perpetrator will be
- 39:55Speaker 1: removed from the event immediately, according to the advisory. The
- 39:59Speaker 1: Tony Words will be held Sunday, June twelfth, eight pm
- 40:02Speaker 1: at New York's Radio City Music Hall and Steve Um.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Maybe you want to send out an anti slap advisory
- 40:10Speaker 1: to your audience. Oh, well, mine is real simple. You know,
- 40:16Speaker 1: on the Steve Harvey Show, that family feud, celebrity feud,
- 40:20Speaker 1: the Judge Show, radio show, or any public speaking appearances, anything.
- 40:28Speaker 1: You can come up here if you want to. And
- 40:32Speaker 1: I ain't saying I can't get slapped. It could happen,
- 40:38Speaker 1: But I do want you to know that you will
- 40:42Speaker 1: not turn around and be able to button up your
- 40:45Speaker 1: jacket and walk off that I give you my word
- 40:49Speaker 1: on that right, matter of fact. Matter of fact, I
- 40:53Speaker 1: highly recommend that you don't turn around. I'm just my recommendation,
- 41:00Speaker 1: and I think here's here's my next recommended. When you
- 41:04Speaker 1: slap me, I think you should immediately follow that up
- 41:10Speaker 1: with some mote because I'm gonna have some mote. That's
- 41:15Speaker 1: your anti slap advisory. And if you don't want, what
- 41:20Speaker 1: I promise you is coming huh huh, and it will
- 41:24Speaker 1: not be a return slap. I'm gonna do things to
- 41:28Speaker 1: you like you know. I'm gonna get my baby finger
- 41:32Speaker 1: caught in one of your nostrils and towns, That's what
- 41:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna do. I'm gonna do something to you very unfash.
- 41:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna jump on your back when you turn around
- 41:41Speaker 1: and bite a plug out your hair. That's what I'm
- 41:45Speaker 1: gonna do. So you the fight is the key word. Dirty.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Is no such a thing? Temmy, you have a TV show?
- 41:56Speaker 1: What about Ready to Love? Ready to Love? Black Colleagues? Queen?
- 42:00Speaker 1: Is this radio show stand up? If you decide to
- 42:04Speaker 1: run up on time, we definitely both going to jail
- 42:07Speaker 1: that night. I can guarantee you that we're both going
- 42:12Speaker 1: and we ain't man. One was probably gonna have havelf
- 42:14Speaker 1: our clothes. Uncles. There's gonna be a lot of ripping
- 42:16Speaker 1: in came when when we and when we get in.

- 42:36Speaker 1: should I don't know why that stood there that to
- 42:39Speaker 1: this day, I don't understand that he didn't expect because

- 42:54Speaker 1: after party with the hospitals, all that dance and this stuff,
- 42:57Speaker 1: that would have been different. That's a different video. It
- 43:03Speaker 1: different video right there. What happened to Wheel's oscar? Oh
- 43:08Speaker 1: that you wipe it off? Wipe it off? Yeah, there's
- 43:17Speaker 1: some different stuff that in a minute. I can't give him.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I can't pitch it. It's too far staying still, will
- 43:31Speaker 1: push will God, anybody got long Fanger nails so you
- 43:38Speaker 1: have in my oscar? This show is ignorant. We're clear.
- 43:50Speaker 1: I think we're clear on you, guys. Anti slap advisory
- 43:53Speaker 1: for your show. Jay said he would have he would
- 43:58Speaker 1: have run though I'm running. Yeah I'm not. But Chris
- 44:03Speaker 1: didn't know, Jay, he didn't know. That's why I stayed there?
- 44:07Speaker 1: You hit somebody before from running up on your stage?
- 44:10Speaker 1: What you're talking about? You running? All? Right? Here we
- 44:14Speaker 1: go coming up, daddy. It is a prank phone call

- 48:08Speaker 1: doesn't bout her a car? Okay, well, I mean I
- 48:11Speaker 1: don't mean any harm. Is there any possibility that maybe
- 48:13Speaker 1: she just she deserves it and he wanted to give
- 48:15Speaker 1: it to it she deserves because she's the ex wife.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Did you miss the point that I said, I'm his
- 48:21Speaker 1: current wife. If he's gonna be buying any type of car,
- 48:23Speaker 1: the car should have been for me. It shouldn't be
- 48:26Speaker 1: for her. I'm the one cooking, cleaning iron and all
- 48:29Speaker 1: this kind of stuff, and he's gonna buy her. Wait, wait,
- 48:35Speaker 1: I mean, what time won't. You'll be here with the

- 48:46Speaker 1: it to my house. That's what you're gonna do. You're
- 48:48Speaker 1: gonna bring that car. It's it's butt. You're gonna bring
- 48:51Speaker 1: it to my house, and that's where it's gonna be
- 48:53Speaker 1: delivered to. I'm gonna fix that, you know what. I
- 48:58Speaker 1: want to pretty much stay out of this thing. All
- 49:00Speaker 1: I want to do is deliver this thing off er leg.
- 49:02Speaker 1: I think I've created a problem that that probably wasn't
- 49:05Speaker 1: even gonna be a problem. You already up. I just
- 49:07Speaker 1: I need to know a couple of things. Wait, when
- 49:09Speaker 1: did he body car? He told me? When that's what
- 49:13Speaker 1: he told me? When did heybody card? This car was
- 49:15Speaker 1: purchased about but right at a month ago, but it
- 49:18Speaker 1: just got delivered in last night. Also is a special
- 49:21Speaker 1: order car? Okay, well, I mean it five fifty. It's
- 49:26Speaker 1: the biggest suv they got. Okay, okay, uh huh. Now
- 49:30Speaker 1: wait when he came in? Did you did you see
- 49:32Speaker 1: him when he came in about a call with him,
- 49:33Speaker 1: which somebody was he with him? Ma'am, I don't. I
- 49:35Speaker 1: don't work inside the inside the dealership, man, I just
- 49:38Speaker 1: drive the cars and deliver them. Well, how much how
- 49:40Speaker 1: much is a car? How much was a car? Uh?
- 49:43Speaker 1: Looking here on this says ninety ninety eight right right
- 49:47Speaker 1: at right at ninety nine thousand dollars ninety eight cash.
- 49:51Speaker 1: You said it was paid in full. I don't know
- 49:53Speaker 1: how have you charged it or whatever, but it says
- 49:56Speaker 1: paid him, But you said it was paid in full.
- 49:58Speaker 1: So you mean to chill? Mean this fool that bought
- 50:01Speaker 1: a car for his ex wife and pailing fullhams ninety thousand?
- 50:05Speaker 1: How that? I mean? I really want you to try
- 50:08Speaker 1: to explain that to me? Is that what you're saying? Man,
- 50:10Speaker 1: I'm you. You're asking me to explain some stuff that
- 50:12Speaker 1: seems like he needs to be explaining to you. You

- 50:48Speaker 1: l U v X so a love X or love?
- 50:52Speaker 1: You know what? Can me? Hear myself together? This is
- 50:55Speaker 1: how people get the killed. I'm gonna get a taste
- 50:58Speaker 1: dealing with this. You know what? Bringing card of my house,
- 51:02Speaker 1: that's what you do. You bring the car over here,

- 54:05Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter. We could be reading your letter live on
- 54:08Speaker 1: the air, just like I'm going to read this one
- 54:10Speaker 1: right here. Pop Pop right now, Yes for you, Jay
- 54:16Speaker 1: Pop Pop. Never know, it could be yours. You never know.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Buckle up and hold on tight. We got it for
- 54:21Speaker 1: you here. It is letter Saint Kenephew's subject the international
- 54:26Speaker 1: player is about to get played. To Stephen Shirley. I
- 54:29Speaker 1: have been married for nine years and I've been tapping
- 54:32Speaker 1: my husband's phone and I've found out about his three
- 54:35Speaker 1: year international love affair. He is from Zambia and he
- 54:39Speaker 1: came to Texas eleven years ago. One night, we were
- 54:42Speaker 1: tipsy and we opened up about a lot of stuff
- 54:46Speaker 1: from our past. He told me about the one that
- 54:49Speaker 1: got away. He was madly in love with her, but
- 54:52Speaker 1: her parents didn't approve of him, so they couldn't be together.
- 54:56Speaker 1: He told me he truly loves me, but this woman
- 54:59Speaker 1: was his soul mate. He said it took him a
- 55:02Speaker 1: while to get her out of his system. What he
- 55:05Speaker 1: didn't tell me is that he searched for her until
- 55:08Speaker 1: they reconnected. He found her and they have long phone
- 55:11Speaker 1: calls while he's at work or when I'm not home.
- 55:15Speaker 1: They send pictures and talk about their glory days and
- 55:18Speaker 1: how they can't wait to see each other and make love.
- 55:21Speaker 1: I have discreetly read his messages and listened to their voicemails.
- 55:26Speaker 1: They speak in another language most of the time, but
- 55:30Speaker 1: I knew a fair amount of it. They are planning
- 55:33Speaker 1: to have a rendezvous in May, and he's told me
- 55:36Speaker 1: he has to go back home for an important family matter,
- 55:39Speaker 1: and I have to let him handle it alone. After
- 55:43Speaker 1: he leaves, I plan the next day. I plan to
- 55:46Speaker 1: leave the next day and give them the surprise of
- 55:49Speaker 1: a lifetime. I already have my ticket and I know
- 55:53Speaker 1: where he'll be. Imagine him thinking I am thousand miles
- 55:56Speaker 1: away and then bam, I pop up on them. I
- 56:00Speaker 1: am taking all of his clothes with me and leave
- 56:04Speaker 1: them there. To top it off, I'm calling her husband
- 56:07Speaker 1: and asking him to meet me there. I'm planning to
- 56:09Speaker 1: leave my husband's raggedy behind in Zambia. My close friends
- 56:13Speaker 1: think I'm crazy. I do have a flair for the dramatic.
- 56:17Speaker 1: But is this too much? Or am I justified for
- 56:20Speaker 1: showing up and showing out? You're asking me, are you justified?
- 56:26Speaker 1: Let me compliment you on an absolutely brilliant plan. Okay,
- 56:34Speaker 1: this is brilliant, but please know that if you plan
- 56:39Speaker 1: on carrying it through and you do, your marriage is
- 56:42Speaker 1: over because neither you or your husband will be able
- 56:45Speaker 1: to recover from this. But we know you're gonna do
- 56:48Speaker 1: it anyway because you've already bought the ticket, You're taking
- 56:51Speaker 1: his clothes with you, and you're planning on leaving him
- 56:53Speaker 1: and them there in Zambia. Your plan. It also won't
- 56:58Speaker 1: work because you just told millions of people who listen
- 57:01Speaker 1: to this show what you're going to do, okay, and
- 57:04Speaker 1: someone is bound to tell your husband what you're up
- 57:06Speaker 1: to And that is the one single flaw I see
- 57:10Speaker 1: in your otherwise brilliant plan to catch them, the fact
- 57:14Speaker 1: that we all know now yeah, I mean it is,
- 57:18Speaker 1: you know, dramatic and all of that. It's a long
- 57:22Speaker 1: way to get to your endgame. But in my opinion,
- 57:25Speaker 1: he deserves it for lying to you about so many things,
- 57:28Speaker 1: for even telling you this other woman is his soulmate.
- 57:31Speaker 1: Why would even say that to you? But he lied
- 57:34Speaker 1: to you about what did he say? Oh? Oh yeah,
- 57:37Speaker 1: he has to attend an important family matter and you
- 57:40Speaker 1: can't go. Oh you're going, You are going. You've had
- 57:44Speaker 1: it planned out for quite a while, and when you
- 57:47Speaker 1: catch him, it's just not gonna be pretty. It's gonna
- 57:50Speaker 1: be over. But you know, whatever, you gotta do what
- 57:55Speaker 1: you gotta do sometimes, Steve, Well, Charlie, you really surprised
- 58:03Speaker 1: me with this being a brilliant player. I have never
- 58:07Speaker 1: I forgot about that side of you because you hide
- 58:10Speaker 1: it so well normally, So I was just stunned that,
- 58:15Speaker 1: Oh my god, with a brilliant plan. The subject is
- 58:19Speaker 1: international player about to get played. Now. This lady been
- 58:23Speaker 1: married nine years, but she's been tapping her husband's phone.
- 58:28Speaker 1: She found out about his three year international love a family.
- 58:33Speaker 1: That's a long time to be aware of something and
- 58:38Speaker 1: keep it to yourself. You could say later in the
- 58:42Speaker 1: letter that you have a flat for the dramatic. You too,
- 58:45Speaker 1: damn dramatic if you asked, you too, Damn. I found
- 58:50Speaker 1: out about this three year international love affair. Now he's
- 58:53Speaker 1: from Zambia, came to Texas eleven years ago. Now here's
- 58:57Speaker 1: the part. One night we were tipsy and we opened
- 59:00Speaker 1: up about a lot of stuff from our path. See
- 59:03Speaker 1: right now, that's why I don't drink right there, whatever
- 59:07Speaker 1: reason my ass don't drink right now, because the last
- 59:11Speaker 1: thing my ignorant ass needs to be doing somewhere opening
- 59:15Speaker 1: up about my damn bad clearly, man, that would be
- 59:21Speaker 1: the dumbest thing I could do. He told me about
- 59:26Speaker 1: the one that got away. What he was he drinking?
- 59:34Speaker 1: He was madly in love with her, but her parents
- 59:37Speaker 1: didn't approve of him, so they couldn't be together. He
- 59:40Speaker 1: told me, truly loves me, but this woman was his soul. Me,
- 59:45Speaker 1: this fool shit never sip alcohol again, look at it anything.
- 59:57Speaker 1: If I had told my wife that I truly love her,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: but there's another woman that's the soul mate. Something in
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: me would a click. I would have went into kitchen
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: and just stabbed myself and try to get to the
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: hospital so we could divert this conversation. Change your subject.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: This is ridiculous. Man. When I come back, I'll tell
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: you the rest of it. But it ain't gonna It's
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: gonna be lady. All right, we'll have part two of
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: your response coming up at twenty three minutes after the hour.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Today's Strawberry Letter, subject international player about to get played.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: We'll be back right after this. You're listening Morning show?
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: All right, Come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry letter.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: The subject is international players about to get played? International
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: player about to get played. You've been married to this
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: man nine years. He's from Zambia. He came over here
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: eleven years ago. But through tapping his phone, she's discovered
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: that he's had a three year international affair. The way
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: she know all of this is because she started tapping
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: the phone because one night they was drinking and they
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: got tipsy. Now let me tell you something, folks. The
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: following statement that I'm about to read is not because
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: you tipsy. This is because your ass is drunk. One
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: night threw a tipsy He opened up about a lot
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: of stuff from his past. He told me about the
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: one that got away. He was madly in love with her,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: but the parents didn't approve of him, so they couldn't
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: be together. He told me he truly loves me, but
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: this woman was his soul made. That is not a
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: tipsy statement. That's from a person who is full blown
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: ass drunk. This man should never sniff alcohol again in
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: his life. Because if you can say this to your
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: current wife, Wow, this has nothing to do with tipsy.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Did something and he didn't mix some drugs right here,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: d this is this is some other stuff right here.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: You don't have some drinks, some molly, this some method
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: here something. Yeah, you need this meth. I don't know
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: what you did, but you you, he said. It took
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: him a while and get out of his system. Now,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: what she found out was she that he had searched
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: for her and finally found her and they reconnected. Now
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: this when she started tapping the phone and they had
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: long phone calls while he would work or when I'm
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: not home. They seeing pictures and talk about their glory days,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: how they can't wait to see each other and make love.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: And then he said, I discreetly read his messages and
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: listen to their voicemail. I don't know how she been
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: doing this. Man, they speak in another language, so most
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: of the time I don't, but I know a fair
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: amount of it. Now. This other language is one of
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: them two thousand dialects that reside in Africa. Africa's fifty two,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: fifty three countries, fifty two countries, fifty three counts. Now
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: I can't remember, it's fifty some countries in Africa. That's
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: over two thousand dialects, zombie. I don't know which one
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: that is, but they're talking anywhere. They can't. You know
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: what good blacks the U in the months who blacks
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: five mass gang? You went the midst the lip or
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: said up? Oh come yeah. Now, I don't know how
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: you picked up what they were saying in now, but
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: you claimed that you picked it up. But you could
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: tell about the tone of his voice though. If they
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: was talking about some sex. Uh, it's said, it's said
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: on going to quanto from ground. I don't care what
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: language you here. When a man dropped down, now that's
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: what he're talking about. Anyway, he told you in made
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: that he needed to go back home for an important
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: family matter, and I'm more and he needs to handle
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: it alone. Now hear what the brilliant plan Shirley likes.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: After he leaves, I planned to lead the next day,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: give him a surprise of a lifetime. I already got
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: my ticket. I know where he'll be. Imagine him thinking
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: I'm thousand miles away and bam, I'll pop up on him.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: I am taking all of his clothes with me and
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: leave them there. To top it off, I'm calling her
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: husband asking him to meet me there, and I'm planning
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: to leave my husband's ragging behind Zambia. My close friends
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: think I'm crazy. I do have a flat front of dramatic.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: But is this too much? Or am I justified and
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: showing up and showing out? Shirley, thanks, You're playing is brilliant.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna have a few questions for that. Why waste
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: your money? You are going to spend all this money
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: to tell to get rid of somebody who'd already got
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: rid of you. Why would you go through a all
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: the hassle, calling all these people going well over there
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: so you can go and go Bam. That's a long
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: way for a bam, why do you feel the need
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: to surprise him? But I don't know. You know, you
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: didn't kept this to yourself for all these years, tapping
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: phones and stuff. I don't know how you ain't saying
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: nothing up till now. Now. I really don't know how
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: you didn't held it together this long. The only way
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: you can hold it together this long as you really
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: don't love him. That has to be it, because if
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: you were emotionally invested, is no way you're gonna sit
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: there and listen to all these phone calls, look at
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: these pictures, follow all these text messages, had this information
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: for three years if you truly loved him. So I
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: don't know what y'all doing now. I surely brought up
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: an interesting point. Surely said it's not gonna be much
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: of a surprise now because you wrote this letter and
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: it's what you're gonna do in May, and you're pretty
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: sure somebody gonna hear and tell it. I am asking
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey nation that listens to this Strawberry letter,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: please do me a favor. Don't open your damn mouth.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: In the famous words of me and the fellas on
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: this show, shut shit damn mouth, because I just want
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: to see how this is gonna play out. But if
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: you get on that plane, you're wasting money, just like
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: we wasted a whole fifteen and it's talking about a
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: letter that theyin't even important. Thank you for listening. We
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: see them all. They don't need to be married. It
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: is time now for you to leave your comments on
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: today's Strawberry Letter on Instagram at Steve Harvey FM and
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: check out the Strawberry Letter podcast on demand. Please. Coming
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: up next, it is Junior and Sports Talk right after this.

- 1:12:41Speaker 1: enough radio. I've done enough. Yeah. I think at some
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: point you go, like when I was married, I go,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: I've done enough marriage. I've just done. Really in a comparison,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: I'm just saying, and I figured I've done enough. I've
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: had a great time, and I'll be able to drop
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: back from time to time if I think it's something
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: funny or you know, I've got something good coming up.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: I don't come in and say hi to everybody, but
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: it's for me. It's time to go, it's time to go.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Before they go. We need you, We need you to leave.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: So so, wow, you're leaving radio to do, to do
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: because sometimes that's what that's what happens though, old people
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: to do. Yeah, we we we need to leave. We
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: need Yeah, the group. He's breaking up the group. But see,
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: y'all think he leaving to go do something else. He ain't.

- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I'll go to comedy clubs and perform time to time,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: you know show. Yes, I'll be doing that. He got
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: some stuff he doing. He gonna retire. He got enough money. Look,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: he don't like a whole lot of cars and stuff.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: He don't like company. Oh he ain't got to buy
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: no extra groceries. But man, I've been with this dude
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: so long. Man, I've learned so much from him over
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: the years. Man. He taught me this business in the
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: very beginning because I was floundering, Man, I was trying
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: to find my voice the way to do it, man,
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: and this dude was that dude, man. And so it
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: ain't good bye for us, Man, I didn't. I didn't
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: say it later on to him. On so many damn levels.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: I've been with all the divorces, So you know, I've
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: seen this before. I was expecting it any minute now
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: because he don't stay long. We're gonna miss you, Jay
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: for sure, coming up, Okay, Tom Rady, Well we'll have
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: more of the Sea barby morning show right after this.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, Jay, We're back, you were saying,
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: or Steve you were saying. No, It's just you know,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: I've built with this guy for so long, man, so
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: many years. I mean I met him in eighty six.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: You know, I hadn't even been in the business a year, man,
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: as my first road gig when I met him at
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: a place called Nick's Bloomington, Indiana. And he was the
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: first Black Headline I'd ever met, because you know, at
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: eighty five eighty six, that were no Black Sea. The
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: only Black Headliners was Byron Allen and George Wallace, and
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: then I met Jay Anthony Brown, his first black I
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: ever seen headline of Comedy Cup. I've been working with
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: all whites up into that, and when I saw him
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: before man, I went, WHOA, this dude like hill Man?
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: That's what I want to be. And he told me
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: he's man. You you're funny as hill Man when we
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: all stage, but you're just taking you ain't taking that
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: up to on your stage. I said, Man, I've got
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: to make these white people laugh. He said, oh, man,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: you got to make them white people get you. You
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: ain't got to get them. They bought the ticket to
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: see you, and he taught me how to do it, man,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: And for that, I ever felt like I owed him
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: a dead of gratitude for that. Man. We've always we've
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: done a lot of shows together and all of that. Man,
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: but this dude has been forefront and the reason I
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: became the stand up so I was so I always
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: wanted to say thank you for that, brother, and I
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: appreciate you. Man. Well what wow, they want me to
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: do twenty minutes? Man? Ain't man, Tommy, You're doing Jack
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: twenty minutes. Look all right, we'll be back with more
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: of the Steve Harp Morning Show right after that. You're
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: listening show, all right, we're back. Um. Jay has just
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: made the announcement that he's leaving radio to do nothing,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: and we're still trying to process that, trying to do
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: the Talberry Show and I'll be doing comedy clubs and
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: you know, yeah, you still got assisted living. Yeah, great show,
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: great show. And I don't think Jay j I don't
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: know if you ever stopped doing standing up. I did, man,
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: I don't know. And you like Jay Leno and the
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: boys that just can't stop. You know. It's like, I've
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: never been able to not be as nervous as I
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: am before I go on stage. But once you get
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: up there, it's and you guys can contested this. It
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: is the best feeling in the world when you got
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: that audience in your hand and you're having a good
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: time and you know, you just there's nothing that compares
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: to them to be able to you know, and a
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: lot of people can't do what we do. A lot
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: of people cannot do this. It's so difficult. Man. People
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: don't understand. Like Jay, he comes to the Climb Club
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: like he'll be a chuckles, right, and he'll do an
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: hour twenty. And let me tell you something, man, I
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: can tell you the people I know, the people that
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: can do an hour twenty for real, one mic, one light,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: one boss, do one drink, one spotlight, that's it, and
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: do an hour twenty. I know who they are. And
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: it's very, very difficult to do, man. But he's been
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: around long enough, man, where he has that repertoire material.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: And it's not that he goes back to old stuff.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: It's just just the way he's been writing. Jay's been
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: a writer for so many successful shows over the years.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I mean his first writing gig was our Senior Hall show.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: He got out there, man, He's been on all kinds
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: of shows. He could do all my very first show,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Me and the Boys, And because what was crazy, man,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: was I had got this opportunity to be on TV
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: and I got out there, man, and I said, man,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: I don't know none of these people, man. And so
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: I knew him and Rashan McDonald we were friends. And
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: I said, man, I got these two guys I want
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: to be writers. Well they're there. They're not in the
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: Writer's Guild and they're not in this I said but hey, man,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: you want some jokes on this show or what. So
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: they made them punch up artists where they punched up
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: in the script. They wouldn't let him write script, but
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: they let him punch him up. And Jay wrote one
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: of the biggest jokes ever on that show. We were
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: talking about a kidney and my little boy said, Daddy,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: would you give me your kidney? I said, why would
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I do that? So you can leave it up on
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: the bus like you did that new code I bought you.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: And that was one of the biggest jokes on that show.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: If you just saw the scene. Jay has always been there. Dude, man,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: we'll be back. We got some more wou this fool
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: before he get out of here? Yeah, that's right right
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, all right, we're back our last
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: break of the day, last break of the week of
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: the day. Yeah, and last show. Oh of course, of course. Jay.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: You're You're so funny. We're gonna miss you a lot.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: You know, you've been through a lot of challenges. You've
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: always come back and just you know, like nothing ever happened. Steve.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: I know, I just want to say real quick, um,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: you know Steve was talking about you know, me and
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: me and the boys. But what a lot of people
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: don't understand was we're shine and that were not writers.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: We we would we were comedians. And for him this
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: was his first show. They gave him his own show
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: and for him to stand up for us and go,
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: I have to have these guys or you're not gonna
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: get me. That was a bowl as move and I'm like, dude,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: hold up, no, wait a minute. But but it worked
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: and it put us in the in the writing ring,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: which had not he done that, you know, because there
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: are very few black writers to this day period to
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: this day, there very few black priters, you know, we're
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: talking twenty twenty two, very few on all black shows.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: Sometimes you don't have. So for him, Jay the Girl,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: that was just so one of these awards shows. Black
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Girl was the first black female writer on a late
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: night show in the history of television. Yeah this year. Wow. Well,
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: I mean when I worked for Senio there was fifteen writers.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: I was the only black there, the only one. And
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: that's not uncommon. You know. You take all these late
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: shows that are on they have very few or no
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: black writers at all. But you can tell by the
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: comedy there ain't no black writers right, because you don't
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: because you got to get in the writer's guild. And
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: the only way to get in the writer's guilt is
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: you gotta get hours in the room. If you ain't
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: in the room, you can't get in the writer's guil.
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: Now you can't get a damn writer's jabs at too.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: Oh man, it's it's it's it's it's Andy. The Hollywood
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: is like a grandfather, then, Claude. All these kids get
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: these jobs because they got relatives that all of a
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: sudden day in comedy development. You can't go to school
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: for comedy development. But how do you get this job?
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: My uncle was in it. He told them this is
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: what I do, man, You know what I mean. Times
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: out of setting the room with people that don't know it.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: Damn thing about combating over there, man, trying to tell
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: me something about it? Oh man, Jay will tell you. Man,
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: I just go in that room and just look at
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: them and go, that's not funny. Well we think it is.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: I said, okay, with your ass said, but it's two legends.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: What Jay is saying, you gave him an opportunity and
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: paid it, paid it forward, and you saying that Jay
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: gave you an opportunity in this friendship and partnership and
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: brotherhood that you all had. Ye, it's been that way, man,
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: And I mean we would we were. I mean, look,
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: we were friends before that was cell phones. You understand
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: what man, You don't even understand how we what we
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: had to do to stay in touch with each other.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: I mean, man, like we had spots. We had spots
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: on the roads like you were in Memphis. We had
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: gas stations with certain pay phones that we knew the
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: number two and we would say, hey, man, yeah, man,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: be at the race track down in Birmingham. Man, Tuesday
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: at two o'clock, can you be that? I gotta talk
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: to you? And I lead that on his answer machine,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: and I'm telling you right now, Tuesday at two o'clock,
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: I'm in trouble, man. I call that phone. What man?
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: What he had to gather? So you're calling his answering
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: scene at his house. You leave the message, Yeah, I
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: leave a message. Yeah, few days I got to talk
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: to you, man, I'm in trouble. Yeah. I mean that's
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: all we had about my cause were usually about court. Yeah,
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: basically yeah, yeah, it had something to do with court.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: And but see I hadn't gotten a divorce yet, but
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: I was well schooled on law. Mostly all our troubles
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: had something to do with a girl. All mostly all
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: of it trouble kids every nine and then. But man,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: we had them telephones. I would call his house and
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: leave a machine, and he called and check his machine,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: and then he called my machine and say I'll be there,
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: or hey, man, I can't but i'll be in such
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: and such. Let me when I get there, I'll find
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: the phone and give you the number. Then he called
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: and give me the number. And then I wait a day,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: and then I call him next day at three thirty.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: He'd be right there at the phone. Man, that's friendship,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: that's communication. It's crazy. But now I understand, though you
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: were in trouble, but you gotta wait two days for help.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: So now you got to drive off wherever you're in
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: trouble that you need to drive off and get get
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: away from you got you gotta keep driving to help
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: come to solution. Jay Anthony Brown, you are a legend.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Were love. We're gonna much love your knowledge. Man. Thank you, man.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: I enjoyed writing with you in the writer's room. Man,
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: it was fun. Every single day Jay Man. I appreciate you. Jay.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: You've been on radio how long total? Tom Jordan probably
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: thirty thirty five? You know, because I did, I did.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: Stevie won this show. Steve won the station for about
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: seven eight years and then twenty with Tom. I was fine. Yeah,
