- 0:00Speaker 1: Once again calling on all members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard,
- 0:04Speaker 1: the military, and the police to lay down their arms.
- 0:08Speaker 1: They're only going to be killed perfectly safe, with total immunity,
- 0:12Speaker 1: or you'll face absolutely guaranteed death, and I don't want
- 0:15Speaker 1: to see that.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Good Friday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:22Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got two big
- 0:25Speaker 3: stories for you. First up, Democrats, they're in trouble as
- 0:29Speaker 3: new polling datas shows Donald Trump is in a better
- 0:31Speaker 3: position than other former presidents at this point in his presidency.
- 0:36Speaker 3: So who is he beating? Well, that'll give them even
- 0:39Speaker 3: more nightmares, I'll tell you in just a moment. Also,
- 0:42Speaker 3: Barack Obama comes out advocating for jerrymandering in Virginia. What's
- 0:49Speaker 3: behind the plan that as well? It's the forty seven
- 0:52Speaker 3: Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Story number one, Well, we've got.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Good news to start with, and that is that President
- 0:59Speaker 3: Trump is more popular, even after the media has tried
- 1:04Speaker 3: to destroy him, than Barack Obama and George Bush at
- 1:09Speaker 3: this point in his presidency. This is a recipe for disaster.
- 1:16Speaker 3: For the midterms for the Democrats. They were hoping that
- 1:20Speaker 3: Donald Trump right now would be a week president. They
- 1:23Speaker 3: were hoping that what happened in Minnesota and the backlash
- 1:28Speaker 3: of ICE agents having to shoot people was going to
- 1:31Speaker 3: be the undoing of President Trump. They were hoping that
- 1:35Speaker 3: the Epstein files was also going to be the undoing
- 1:39Speaker 3: of the president United States of America. Neither of those
- 1:42Speaker 3: things have worked. Of course, they're going to keep trying.
- 1:47Speaker 3: But what's happening right now is President Trump is literally
- 1:51Speaker 3: more popular at this point in his presidency than Barack
- 1:54Speaker 3: Obama and George Bush. And the best part about this
- 1:57Speaker 3: is CNN is the one that actually had to report
- 2:01Speaker 3: it after doing their pulling, saying that MAGA and America
- 2:07Speaker 3: First is stronger now than it's ever been.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Listen, Republicans love Donald Trump more than any president's own
- 2:16Speaker 4: party supporters loved him at this particular point. Just take
- 2:19Speaker 4: a look here, okay, own party supporters twenty first century
- 2:22Speaker 4: president's own party approval about at this point the second term,
- 2:25Speaker 4: Bush was at seventy seven percent, Obama was at seventy
- 2:28Speaker 4: seven percent.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Look at this, eighty.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Six percent of Republicans approve of the job that Donald
- 2:34Speaker 4: Trump is doing at this point that is higher than
- 2:36Speaker 4: either Obama or Bush had within their own party at
- 2:39Speaker 4: this point. Trump's magic touch has not seen the war
- 2:42Speaker 4: off yet when it comes to the Republican base.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And what kind of approval are we talking about here?
- 2:47Speaker 4: Okay, so we're talking about overall approval here, how about
- 2:49Speaker 4: the strongly approved, the strongly approved, not just like but
- 2:53Speaker 4: love love. Okay, we're gonna look at these same presidents again,
- 2:56Speaker 4: strong approval among your own parties base, which is he
- 2:59Speaker 4: heres Trump is He's the only one who gets the
- 3:01Speaker 4: majority at this point in their presidency. Obama was at
- 3:04Speaker 4: forty eight percent. Bush was at forty seven percent. You
- 3:07Speaker 4: see her. Trump at fifty three percent, not as hight
- 3:09Speaker 4: as overall approof of rating, but still getting a majority
- 3:12Speaker 4: of the Republican base at least in the average of
- 3:14Speaker 4: polls to say that they still really really really like him.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Okay, really really really like him. This is coming from CNN. Now,
- 3:24Speaker 3: what's interesting about this is that you have a guy
- 3:28Speaker 3: by the name of Barack Obama that went out there
- 3:31Speaker 3: this week and started talking about how he wanted to
- 3:35Speaker 3: jerry mander the upcoming elections and redraw the lines. Obama
- 3:41Speaker 3: is now coming out because he's seeing these polls and
- 3:45Speaker 3: he's calling on voters to help Democrats do the redistrict kings,
- 3:50Speaker 3: specifically in Virginia ahead of the midterm elections. President Trump
- 3:56Speaker 3: calling on voters in Virginia to support the ballot measure
- 3:58Speaker 3: that's this spring that would change the Commonwealth's constitution and
- 4:03Speaker 3: then cause new congressional district boundaries that would benefit the
- 4:06Speaker 3: Democrats to be used in this falls midterm elections. He
- 4:10Speaker 3: posted a video on social media asking people in Virginia
- 4:18Speaker 3: to please jerry mander the state. Barack Obama understanding how
- 4:23Speaker 3: big of a problem Trump's popularity is. And so this
- 4:27Speaker 3: is what now he's said that has been seen more
- 4:29Speaker 3: than thirty million times already. Obama saying we need quote
- 4:34Speaker 3: free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy,
- 4:37Speaker 3: but right now they're under attack. He's now saying Democrats
- 4:41Speaker 3: that have been masters of jerrymandering, he's now claiming needed
- 4:45Speaker 3: jerry jerry mander in response to Republicans like they've never
- 4:49Speaker 3: been doing it before. Here's Obama in his own words.
- 4:53Speaker 5: Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy,
- 4:56Speaker 5: but right now they are under threat. Over the past
- 5:00Speaker 5: several Republican controlled states have taken the unprecedented step of
- 5:04Speaker 5: redrawing their congressional maps in the middle of the decade,
- 5:08Speaker 5: and they've done it for a simple reason, to give
- 5:11Speaker 5: themselves an unfair advantage in the midterms this fall. In April,
- 5:15Speaker 5: Virginians can respond by making sure your voting power is
- 5:19Speaker 5: not diminished by what Republicans are doing in other states.
- 5:23Speaker 5: This amendment gives you the power to level the playing
- 5:25Speaker 5: field in the mid terms this fall, and voters will
- 5:29Speaker 5: have the final say over what the maps look like.
- 5:32Speaker 5: This is the responsible thing to do. It's also a
- 5:35Speaker 5: temporary measure. After the twenty thirty census, Virginia will go
- 5:39Speaker 5: back to a system that lets a bipartisan redistricted commission
- 5:43Speaker 5: redraw the maps. We can't afford two more years of
- 5:47Speaker 5: unchecked power and zero accountability in Washington. Help us chart
- 5:52Speaker 5: a better path forward. Virginia. Early voting begins on March sixth.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Election day is April twenty first, Oh Yes, Virginia. To
- 6:01Speaker 5: get involved, go to Virginians Forfair Elections dot com.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Now in that ad where clearly the godfather of the
- 6:11Speaker 3: Democratic Party is still in charge, that would be Barack Obama.
- 6:16Speaker 3: When he talked about there can't be two more years
- 6:19Speaker 3: of zero accountability. They show a picture of Donald Trump
- 6:22Speaker 3: with his hand in the air when he says we
- 6:25Speaker 3: can't afford two more years of unchecked power. They have
- 6:29Speaker 3: a picture of Donald Trump. This has been seen more
- 6:34Speaker 3: than thirty times, and so it's worth you understanding that.
- 6:42Speaker 3: And again there's something you also need to understand. The
- 6:46Speaker 3: Union that paid for this and everybody that was involved
- 6:49Speaker 3: in this. Virginia for fair elections. Okay, the money coming
- 6:52Speaker 3: in is coming in from very corrupt people. You may
- 6:56Speaker 3: not realize that, but this is coming in. And what
- 7:01Speaker 3: they're trying to do here with Barack Obamas say, look,
- 7:06Speaker 3: we can't allow Donald Trump to have a free and
- 7:09Speaker 3: fair election, so we need a jerrymander to make sure
- 7:13Speaker 3: that there's no way that Donald Trump will hold the House.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I'll give you another example of how bad the jerrymandering's gotten.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Just under half of all New Englanders vote Republican. Do
- 7:28Speaker 3: you want to know how many Republican seats there are
- 7:32Speaker 3: in New England? There are no Republican seats in New England.
- 7:37Speaker 3: None the six New England states. Trump in twenty twenty four,
- 7:42Speaker 3: received forty of the vote. Congressional districts, there are twenty
- 7:46Speaker 3: one that are democratic. There are zero that are in
- 7:49Speaker 3: the GOP. Vermont, for example, thirty two of people in
- 7:55Speaker 3: Vermont voted for Donald Trump. Zero Republican seats. New Hampshire
- 8:01Speaker 3: forty eight percent, so almost exactly even voted for Donald Trump.
- 8:06Speaker 3: There are zero Republican seats. In Maine, forty five percent
- 8:11Speaker 3: of voters voted for Donald Trump in twenty twenty four.
- 8:14Speaker 3: There are zero Republican seats Massachusetts, Trump got thirty six
- 8:19Speaker 3: percent of the vote. There are zero Republican seats in Congress.
- 8:25Speaker 3: From there, Connecticut, forty two percent of voters voted for
- 8:31Speaker 3: Donald Trump. There are zero Republican seats. Rhode Island that
- 8:35Speaker 3: forty two percent of voters there voted for Donald Trump.
- 8:37Speaker 3: There are zero Republican seats. So you put these six
- 8:41Speaker 3: New England states together and under half of all New
- 8:46Speaker 3: Englanders vote for Republicans. That there's not a single Republican
- 8:50Speaker 3: seat in New England. And then Barack Obama comes out
- 8:53Speaker 3: and says we must jerrymander Virginia because we can't win
- 8:57Speaker 3: in a free and fair election cycle. When it's heads up.
- 9:01Speaker 3: So we got to change the districts to make it
- 9:04Speaker 3: clear that we are going to say to Republicans, you
- 9:07Speaker 3: are not welcome here. You don't belong here, you don't
- 9:11Speaker 3: have a voice here, you don't have a say so here.
- 9:15Speaker 3: There is nothing for you here. Now, part of it
- 9:19Speaker 3: is I think in these states they are telling conservatives
- 9:21Speaker 3: move right, we're going to attach you to death. We're
- 9:24Speaker 3: socialists where Marxists, we're communists. We are going to go
- 9:28Speaker 3: after you, and you are not welcome, right, Like you're
- 9:33Speaker 3: just you're not welcome, Okay, you are just flat out
- 9:38Speaker 3: not welcome here. You won't have representation here, You'll have
- 9:42Speaker 3: no one that you can call that will actually listen
- 9:46Speaker 3: to you when you call. There is nothing here for you.
- 9:51Speaker 3: That is a problem. This is the Democratic Party. And
- 9:55Speaker 3: when Donald Trump is out there fighting for all of us,
- 9:58Speaker 3: notice when things get Democrats go, no, no, we're just gonna
- 10:02Speaker 3: We're gon We're just gonna straight up, we're gonna lie.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Watch like like we're gonna lie. We're gonna just completely
- 10:08Speaker 3: just destroy like that's what we're gonna do. We're going
- 10:10Speaker 3: to destroy all of all, like every single one of you.
- 10:14Speaker 3: You don't exist, we will shut you down. And now
- 10:19Speaker 3: Barack Obama's come out and set it very clearly. If
- 10:22Speaker 3: we can't win, we will cheat, and we will Jerrymander
- 10:27Speaker 3: and every conservative better get ready and fight back because
- 10:30Speaker 3: this is what Donald Trump's up against in the midterm elections.
- 10:33Speaker 3: They are going to steal the House and then they're
- 10:36Speaker 3: gonna use it to weaponize government to go after Trump
- 10:39Speaker 3: and any ally of Donald Trump. Mark my word.
