- 1:47Speaker 1: can bobecue. I know you can bobecue. Now, I know
- 1:49Speaker 1: you can bobecute. What's the landscaping? Me and my granddad
- 1:53Speaker 1: used to have a landscaping business. I still do it
- 1:55Speaker 1: on the plane because I slipped housing. So I go
- 1:57Speaker 1: in and get the property main. I keep properties, maintain
- 2:00Speaker 1: that I own. Uh So you're flipping houses and you
- 2:03Speaker 1: don't landscaping. Yeah, Rashana, I just put out some scots
- 2:07Speaker 1: I just put out some Scotch. Weed and feed feed
- 2:11Speaker 1: at this morning. Yeah, he knows. He tell us the truth.
- 2:15Speaker 1: He tells the truth. So so so if I'm if
- 2:18Speaker 1: I'm named, if I'm in the movement, come from keep
- 2:21Speaker 1: me keep run there with the friends. I'm doing. I'm doing.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I'm doing landscaping right now while I'm doing its shade.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I I would go to a house. I would, I
- 2:31Speaker 1: would sit up there and I get it. I get
- 2:34Speaker 1: that work in man. I believe in landscaping. The thing
- 2:37Speaker 1: about it is, I don't care how big a celebrity
- 2:39Speaker 1: you are. You're still a man. I still fixed cars,
- 2:43Speaker 1: I still cut grands. I still fell you know cars
- 2:47Speaker 1: you're fixing? No, Rickie smile. Ain't that anything American maid Raschana.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I don't know how to fix uh yet. Uh? I
- 2:55Speaker 1: can fix anything, American? May. I know how to pull
- 2:57Speaker 1: uh pull the alternator off. That's what I can do.
- 3:00Speaker 1: That my starter? What about started? I started regulator, you know,
- 3:06Speaker 1: all in that little town stuff. But what I can't do.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I can't cool the transmission color. I don't have to
- 3:11Speaker 1: that transmission. That's a real job there. See. I can
- 3:14Speaker 1: do the starter, you can do the radiator, you can
- 3:16Speaker 1: do the battery, the battery. I'm I'm I'm all battery
- 3:20Speaker 1: for sun. I can do it like I can do
- 3:22Speaker 1: it like it ain't nothing. Yeah, so so so so
- 3:27Speaker 1: that's so, that's what I should add that to your
- 3:29Speaker 1: intro or anybody should add that to intro landscaping, to
- 3:32Speaker 1: the intro now land escaping. And I don't know what
- 3:35Speaker 1: you call people that slip houses, slip housing, that's what
- 3:37Speaker 1: you call them. House slippers, house flippers. Absolutely house Okay,
- 3:42Speaker 1: let's talk about it. And I don't flip them and
- 3:44Speaker 1: set and set them up for session. They I get
- 3:47Speaker 1: people that's gonna pay some real rent, real rent, real money,
- 3:51Speaker 1: real money, real money. You don't have to go find them.
- 3:54Speaker 1: They don't have that sad story because you know, they
- 3:56Speaker 1: know you're on TV, they know you're on the radio,
- 3:59Speaker 1: so they do they have a sad story for you.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Look at how I'm doing so you you have to
- 4:03Speaker 1: worry about that. Look at the people with the money,
- 4:05Speaker 1: so they won't have to worry about that. Saster. I'm
- 4:07Speaker 1: want you, not Ricky. I'm not running from you. I'm
- 4:09Speaker 1: not running from So is that a little teeth of money? Right?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Is that another teeth? You get them right out of
- 4:14Speaker 1: medical school. You know how's already got furniture in it,
- 4:18Speaker 1: already decorating, and you get the stuff and you you
- 4:22Speaker 1: let they walk in the house and only thing they
- 4:24Speaker 1: have to do is body clothes. Their parents got money,
- 4:27Speaker 1: they write your big check and they move in and
- 4:29Speaker 1: you're happy, and you're very happy. I am happy. Today
- 4:33Speaker 1: has been a good two days. Man. I used the
- 4:36Speaker 1: weed either. I used to line more. I put on
- 4:38Speaker 1: some scott weed to feed, got my spreader, I got
- 4:41Speaker 1: the sprinklers out and stuff to make sure. You know,
- 4:44Speaker 1: uh that that furtive lines to get into that grass
- 4:47Speaker 1: to kill that craft grass. But uh, I got bermuda grams.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I got fscrew grass. I got four grass in some
- 4:54Speaker 1: of the yards. So seeing the hid and the all
- 4:57Speaker 1: of that stuff, well, you know the thing about it
- 5:01Speaker 1: is that I cannot argue with you because I do
- 5:03Speaker 1: the same thing you said everything. You know, I'm looking
- 5:06Speaker 1: for I'm looking for you to slip up. You know
- 5:08Speaker 1: what I'm saying. But he didn't slip up at all,
- 5:10Speaker 1: because you know you do do you do your weeding
- 5:12Speaker 1: feed between February and May. That's when you do your
- 5:15Speaker 1: weeding feet because you're gonna come back and later all
- 5:17Speaker 1: with the fool with the fool. So you can you
- 5:19Speaker 1: can build that that that that good green look. But
- 5:22Speaker 1: you gotta get rid of the weeds or get red.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Now do you drop down in the ant killer? Do
- 5:26Speaker 1: you put in the ant killer? Out that for those
- 5:28Speaker 1: fire ants? I mix it in with the weed and
- 5:31Speaker 1: feed country. He's straight country man's straight count and your
- 5:39Speaker 1: boy your point a man, I'm a Houston, Texas board
- 5:42Speaker 1: talk to a burmanham boy to Southern boys. I can
- 5:45Speaker 1: I can argue no more about you don't know what
- 5:47Speaker 1: you're doing. Remember earlier I said really landscape and really
- 5:51Speaker 1: but when you talk about you mixing fine at killer
- 5:54Speaker 1: and we eat and feed together and rolling out there,
- 5:56Speaker 1: whoa brother? You don't point with your game? So how
- 6:00Speaker 1: you how you are trying to do all this extra stuff.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Let's talk about that morning show before we get the
- 6:04Speaker 1: dish nation, before we get to the tour. This morning show, man,
- 6:08Speaker 1: I just want to I want to back back a
- 6:09Speaker 1: little bit about You're a funny guy. You're known for
- 6:13Speaker 1: for incredible characters. You're humanitarian, but you're really a social
- 6:18Speaker 1: activist and that's a major, a major desire for people
- 6:23Speaker 1: to understand that you care, and you will put the
- 6:26Speaker 1: side a step aside and step pass a joke to
- 6:29Speaker 1: make people understand that we have to take this serious.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Why is that so important? You Ricky smiling? Well, you
- 6:35Speaker 1: don't want people walking up to you? Uh do you
- 6:37Speaker 1: live down? Make me land? People ain't gonna have no
- 6:41Speaker 1: respect for you as a president if you don't stand
- 6:43Speaker 1: for something, and people don't celebrate Mohammed and I leave
- 6:46Speaker 1: because he's not got beat Joe Frasier. People celebrate Mohammad.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I leave become the way he stood for Mohammed. I
- 6:52Speaker 1: leave put it all on the land. When you make
- 6:54Speaker 1: I don't care how much money you make. I don't
- 6:57Speaker 1: care how successful you are. If you don't stand for something,
- 7:02Speaker 1: what what what what if if if you if if
- 7:06Speaker 1: you ain't women to not for something, you're not fit
- 7:08Speaker 1: to live right right right? And that's what But would
- 7:12Speaker 1: you say that with passion? Though you know that I
- 7:13Speaker 1: say that, it's not a it's not something you're saying
- 7:17Speaker 1: that just in the Cavalier. And I've always known that
- 7:19Speaker 1: about you because because you know, because you you are
- 7:23Speaker 1: really you know, like I said, God has blessed us
- 7:25Speaker 1: all because we're talking right here on the phone, on
- 7:27Speaker 1: the phone, on the radio podcast, all series, ExM, all
- 7:31Speaker 1: these formats. But the thing about it is that it's
- 7:33Speaker 1: more important that you understand that you have a strong
- 7:36Speaker 1: community involvement, and there is the joke is not bigger
- 7:39Speaker 1: than than the community and and and delivering the right message.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And that's that's consistent. What you want is that I mean,
- 7:47Speaker 1: I mean, you know, God has been good that you
- 7:50Speaker 1: God give your responsibility, sir. You know, uh, reach one,
- 7:55Speaker 1: teach one man. You gotta get out of here. You
- 7:57Speaker 1: know how to help people. You got your nice house,
- 7:59Speaker 1: you got your a couple of cars. So it ain't
- 8:01Speaker 1: about you. See in my book I talked about, you know,
- 8:05Speaker 1: when my grandmama died. Then I left the cemetery and
- 8:08Speaker 1: got on the plane and went and did the show
- 8:09Speaker 1: that night. I did a show with the same suit
- 8:13Speaker 1: with tears and spite in it that that I wore
- 8:17Speaker 1: to my grandmama's funeral. Because guests, what sean, their grandmama
- 8:21Speaker 1: died too, and their mama died, and their daddy died,
- 8:25Speaker 1: and their kids died, and they got cancer and they
- 8:28Speaker 1: got Luke Kenyan, who are you the counselor show as
- 8:31Speaker 1: much as give as much as required. You gotta go
- 8:33Speaker 1: out here and do God's word. You know what I
- 8:35Speaker 1: do on my birthday. I don't walk around all months
- 8:38Speaker 1: with money tent to me thanking everybody's to stop and
- 8:42Speaker 1: turned back with somersaults for my little stinking birthday. You
- 8:45Speaker 1: know when I do on my birthday was Sun the
- 8:48Speaker 1: lady that gave birth to me. I go pick her
- 8:50Speaker 1: up and we go to the Salvation Army and we
- 8:53Speaker 1: put on aprons, and I buy a birthday cake and
- 8:56Speaker 1: cut it up and feed it to the harmers and
- 8:57Speaker 1: have my birthday every year with the homeless because Jesus
- 9:03Speaker 1: Christ said, what about the least of these? You understand
- 9:07Speaker 1: what I'm saying. That's that's that's what it's all about,
- 9:10Speaker 1: you know, because in this year now, that's important. I
- 9:14Speaker 1: just don't want to say that that I've never heard
- 9:15Speaker 1: that story and I'm saying it's not true because of
- 9:18Speaker 1: the fact that you're not trying to publicize that story. Correct.
- 9:21Speaker 1: You know, it's about it's a personal thing that you
- 9:24Speaker 1: realize that it's kind of like humanizes you. You You know,
- 9:28Speaker 1: it brings you back to reality that where you could
- 9:30Speaker 1: be if things didn't go right in your life, right
- 9:34Speaker 1: right right, I'm telling you, man, you know you look
- 9:38Speaker 1: and you see people suffer. Man, God give you a
- 9:41Speaker 1: spirit of discernment as a comedian, because when you walk
- 9:44Speaker 1: up on stage and you're looking at them, people in
- 9:47Speaker 1: the eyes and people in the work they asked on
- 9:49Speaker 1: to put together citty dollars to come see you perform.
- 9:52Speaker 1: You look at their shoes, they jury they close. You
- 9:55Speaker 1: can look in their eyes and tell that they were
- 9:57Speaker 1: the run away, that they're sick. You know, the hair
- 9:59Speaker 1: coming because they got cancer. And you point them out
- 10:02Speaker 1: and you tell them to come to the fund of
- 10:04Speaker 1: the stage and you tell them to come backstage. I
- 10:06Speaker 1: can't even tell you how many obituaries all over the
- 10:09Speaker 1: country where my pictures inside there bituary. Wind took a
- 10:12Speaker 1: picture with the loved one because God let me see it.
- 10:16Speaker 1: You let me love on them people. And the people
- 10:18Speaker 1: be like wow, and here you are. And I'm gonna
- 10:21Speaker 1: do this, man, I'm not gonna cry. I'm not gonna cry.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I got on playing. I think about miss Mary Anne
- 10:27Speaker 1: and and MMR James, you know, and miss Andrews, all
- 10:30Speaker 1: these people that inter wrote me who got cancer. I
- 10:32Speaker 1: went on the plane and walked in their living room,
- 10:35Speaker 1: and how happy. And they're excited that they was now here,
- 10:38Speaker 1: gonna here. I am wake up and do a morning show.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I get the perform in front of millions every morning,
- 10:43Speaker 1: and then here go these other folks wake up every
- 10:45Speaker 1: day facing death and and and and I have a
- 10:50Speaker 1: responsibility to go see about them, even if I go
- 10:53Speaker 1: and take pictures. I went and hugo hood that man.
- 10:57Speaker 1: That man gripped me up and stood up with one
- 11:00Speaker 1: leg to take a picture with me. I said, I said,
- 11:03Speaker 1: you're gonna stand up? He said, man, he said something
- 11:05Speaker 1: to take stand up and take this picture. Because I
- 11:08Speaker 1: can't believe that you in my different room. So it's like,
- 11:11Speaker 1: that's what's making wishes come true. Man, man, you know.
- 11:17Speaker 1: And in two weeks he was gone, you know, Reverend
- 11:21Speaker 1: Reverend pars he's gonna man and and and and he
- 11:24Speaker 1: taught school and and then help people and and did
- 11:27Speaker 1: all these wonderful things and stuff for people. And then
- 11:31Speaker 1: he got cancer. You know, we buried him last week,
- 11:33Speaker 1: but just able to make people smile. And we bought
- 11:36Speaker 1: him a church man. We fixed up his fellowship, halling
- 11:39Speaker 1: in his church and stuff, you know, man. That's why
- 11:41Speaker 1: I used the brand in order to do good. You
- 11:46Speaker 1: understand I could have been been by the bigger the
- 11:49Speaker 1: start if I wouldn't went to l A and pursued it.
- 11:55Speaker 1: You big star, please stop all that mad Just stop
- 11:58Speaker 1: all that doing. Okay, we're gonna be right back because
- 12:00Speaker 1: because you ain't gonna do be like that, you are
- 12:03Speaker 1: a star. I just want people to hear the humanitarian
- 12:06Speaker 1: side of you, because that's because the jokes kind of
- 12:09Speaker 1: get in front of the real Ricky Smiley that I
- 12:11Speaker 1: know that. You know, we call each other, Go ro Sean,
- 12:13Speaker 1: let's get together, and then we don't get together and
- 12:16Speaker 1: that's not right. Then we're gonna change that. We're gonna
- 12:18Speaker 1: be right back with more Ricky Smiley because he has
- 12:20Speaker 1: a tour coming up with Martin Lawrence. He's doing one,
- 12:23Speaker 1: He's doing one, Mike Epster's coming up. He has a
- 12:26Speaker 1: morning show this Nation. This man talking about he's not
- 12:29Speaker 1: a star. Come on now, we really need to stop
- 12:32Speaker 1: this madness right now, and we're gonna get to the
- 12:34Speaker 1: madness when we get back with more Ricky Smiling. Just
- 12:37Speaker 1: for Sean McDonald, I'm interviewing the one and only, the
- 12:40Speaker 1: famous humanitarian social activists. A comedian Ricky Smiley. Ricky Smiley
- 12:48Speaker 1: man with man men. You all get men. You get
- 12:52Speaker 1: in the knockdown draged fights like two brothers like for
- 12:55Speaker 1: twenty years. And they shouldn't know that they I think
- 12:58Speaker 1: that do that they're getting knocked drag out faith with
- 13:00Speaker 1: Steve Harvard. I get knocked out, drag out fights with
- 13:04Speaker 1: Joy Anthony Brown. I didn't knocked out drag if I
- 13:11Speaker 1: would not have my own morning show. And thank you,
- 13:14Speaker 1: thank you. But you know something, Ricky, is that uh
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know, that's that that's my you know, because you
- 13:19Speaker 1: know that I believe in individuals and I believe in
- 13:24Speaker 1: forcing them to understand their value. And and that's why
- 13:28Speaker 1: I love about you, is that you know I saw
- 13:30Speaker 1: something in you and you've taken beyond my vision man
- 13:34Speaker 1: in the in the community side, because you still one
- 13:36Speaker 1: of the funniest guys when used to write when I
- 13:38Speaker 1: was writing for you and producing your own BT comic
- 13:42Speaker 1: view and this relationship has been long term and every
- 13:45Speaker 1: time you never disappointed me, Ricky smile like you never
- 13:48Speaker 1: disappointed me. I listened to your show and you will
- 13:51Speaker 1: stop the show and say, hey, jokes off we gotta
- 13:54Speaker 1: we gotta straighten out this situation where there's uh police crisis,
- 13:58Speaker 1: whether it's election issues. You watch, they really made me something.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Now when you get on that stage, the Ricky smiling,
- 14:04Speaker 1: that comedy stage. Now they're coming out there to see you.
- 14:08Speaker 1: You have so many characters, you have so many what
- 14:11Speaker 1: what when you walk on that stage, people looking at you,
- 14:14Speaker 1: They're looking at so many versions of you? What? What? What?
- 14:17Speaker 1: What's your ultimate goal? When you start talking to people
- 14:19Speaker 1: on stage, when they come see Rickey smiles telling what
- 14:21Speaker 1: they're gonna see Ricky smiling, rich When I walk on stage,
- 14:26Speaker 1: I'd be so fired up, Like I go into a
- 14:28Speaker 1: whole another mode, like the incredible hook, Like I get
- 14:32Speaker 1: like like it's like it's like somebody put on the Gremlins.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I'm saying, it's like I've become a whole another person.
- 14:42Speaker 1: You ain't gonna believe this. Man. I sit up and
- 14:43Speaker 1: watch Nick Saban videos before Alabama football team right now,
- 14:47Speaker 1: and I do you know what I do? Do you
- 14:49Speaker 1: know how really be backstage warming up throwing a football
- 14:52Speaker 1: because you know, you know I played football in high school.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I warm up with a football and then get my
- 14:58Speaker 1: mind right and we'll go on stage and Rashun I
- 15:03Speaker 1: had a lady laughing so hard. I was at a
- 15:06Speaker 1: coming the club. I followed the lady, followed the lady
- 15:09Speaker 1: to the band room. I tried, I got the rest
- 15:12Speaker 1: of them with a lady she's trying to get away
- 15:13Speaker 1: from here, trying to keep her in the room where
- 15:16Speaker 1: she could hear the rest of his joke. But she
- 15:18Speaker 1: was done because she was running knock because she had
- 15:20Speaker 1: to teach. I'm stupid. I would do stuff, might run
- 15:23Speaker 1: on stage and hold her and forced her to listen
- 15:26Speaker 1: to the rest of the joke or whatever. And now
- 15:28Speaker 1: the now, the whole club is going crazy, and this
- 15:32Speaker 1: lady is literally trying to fight me, like, please let
- 15:35Speaker 1: me go. I can go because you're about to make
- 15:36Speaker 1: me feel He starts like, man, you got to hear
- 15:39Speaker 1: the rest of it. And I said when I when
- 15:40Speaker 1: I tell you the last part, I said, man, you
- 15:42Speaker 1: can leave, you can leave the clubs. And when I
- 15:45Speaker 1: tell her last ward to watch her just dropped to
- 15:47Speaker 1: the floor and watch people out and help her out
- 15:48Speaker 1: of that. I do I get that ignorant on stage.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I don't just these stories be real and all I
- 15:56Speaker 1: do now I don't even do coming in the morrishaw
- 15:58Speaker 1: and I just talk. That's what you understand who you are.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Just the funny part about it I wanted to talk
- 16:03Speaker 1: about because the broadcast on serious XM HBCU. That's y'ad
- 16:07Speaker 1: one forty two and you and HBCU graduate and it
- 16:11Speaker 1: is like Alabama State correct, yeah, okay, and apparely apply
- 16:18Speaker 1: he remember of Omega side fire. You graduated. Now, we
- 16:22Speaker 1: can't have no barely graduating ques out there. Okay. Like
- 16:27Speaker 1: you know, they didn't have for sun, they didn't have medicine,
- 16:30Speaker 1: they didn't have medicine for a d D back then.
- 16:32Speaker 1: So it was. And so what is when you when
- 16:38Speaker 1: you were talking to HBCU students and being a graduate
- 16:41Speaker 1: that what what what what? What? What? What impression did
- 16:43Speaker 1: the HBU experience have onhen you did you carry out
- 16:46Speaker 1: to day? I know it's a lot, man. You learn
- 16:49Speaker 1: your roots, your culture. Man, It's just something that's just unbelievable.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I can't even describe what it's like to attend HBCU.
- 16:58Speaker 1: When you're at the football game, go the basketball game.
- 17:01Speaker 1: You had a fan, and the Greek life and the
- 17:04Speaker 1: uh and to see all the alumni come back and
- 17:08Speaker 1: all the people that went to the contege before you
- 17:10Speaker 1: come back and give speeches and how successful they are,
- 17:13Speaker 1: and you get passed on all of this wisdom and
- 17:16Speaker 1: love and knowledge and it's it's it's awesome resion. I mean,
- 17:21Speaker 1: with no better experience. My daughter is a student at
- 17:25Speaker 1: Tennessee State University right now. And I got a niece
- 17:28Speaker 1: that's headed the Tendency State and a nephew that's headed
- 17:31Speaker 1: the Tendensee State. And I got a niece at Alabama
- 17:35Speaker 1: State University. Man, and I worked my ass off to
- 17:38Speaker 1: make sure that they're educated and paying tuition and paying
- 17:42Speaker 1: rent and the car notes and stuffing. And I don't care,
- 17:46Speaker 1: you know, And I just do what I have to do,
- 17:48Speaker 1: uh because God is good and uh, you know, and
- 17:51Speaker 1: I want them to get that that that experience, and
- 17:54Speaker 1: they're getting it now you go. Now, there's two tours
- 17:56Speaker 1: are coming up, which I've never heard of my life,
- 17:58Speaker 1: a talent as big as you being on two significant
- 18:02Speaker 1: uh tours, one with Martin Lawrence and one with Mike Epps. Um. Okay,
- 18:10Speaker 1: now let's just break down the date so people can know.
- 18:12Speaker 1: You can go to ticket match or March third. He
- 18:14Speaker 1: would be in St. Louis May, I mean May May third,
- 18:17Speaker 1: he'd be in St. Louis May tenth. Here be in
- 18:19Speaker 1: Tampa May twenty six. I gotta come see you because
- 18:22Speaker 1: you've been in Houston, Texas. Made June eighth, You're mad Chicago,
- 18:26Speaker 1: June nine, a Capital One Center. That's in Washington, d C.
- 18:29Speaker 1: That's the Martin Lawrence Tour. That's the Martin Lawrence Tour.
- 18:32Speaker 1: In June fifteen at the Bridge Stone in Nashville, that's
- 18:35Speaker 1: the Martin Lawrence Tour. And you know, we're gonna tell
- 18:38Speaker 1: you who's all on the tour. The next tour is
- 18:40Speaker 1: the Mike Epps Platinum Comedy Tour. That's made four that's
- 18:44Speaker 1: in uh, Mississippi, that which is right outside of Memphis.
- 18:48Speaker 1: And then that's that's May feel. He's in Dallas, Texas,
- 18:51Speaker 1: you know, at the Verizons said. Everybody knows what that's at.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And then May thirte, he's in Steve Harvey's hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
- 19:00Speaker 1: That means you're busy. That means you you're gonna be
- 19:02Speaker 1: able to put some kids through college. You can do
- 19:04Speaker 1: some landscaping, you can do some more flipping houses. You
- 19:07Speaker 1: do all that stuff. Who's on the show with you?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Who's what fools are sharing the stay with you? I
- 19:12Speaker 1: know Tony Rock I heard he's out there with you.
- 19:14Speaker 1: D Ray Oh yeah, uh Michael Blackton black black a blackster. Yeah?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Is he still is he still showing this butt? No?
- 19:30Speaker 1: He stay dressed. Okay, but he's funny. But they all
- 19:35Speaker 1: are on the tour, man are del givings and the
- 19:40Speaker 1: tour is absolutely hilarious. And when I tell you we
- 19:44Speaker 1: ain't have a good time, we have a good time
- 19:46Speaker 1: now to be on this too, because it's like, you know,
- 19:48Speaker 1: because you know, you have a certain energy. We're talking
- 19:51Speaker 1: about the energy and Martin Lawrence energy and then you
- 19:54Speaker 1: have Mike's energy is more lined I think with your
- 19:57Speaker 1: energy now. The difference it's a Martin Lawrence to it,
- 20:04Speaker 1: like personally as a comedian is really really laid back
- 20:08Speaker 1: in professional It's just it's professional and it's like, you know,
- 20:14Speaker 1: you're on a tour with Martin Lawrence. With Mike is
- 20:17Speaker 1: a little bit more laid back because it's Mike, you know,
- 20:21Speaker 1: and uh you know so that that's the difference, you know.
- 20:26Speaker 1: But but with Martin Lawrence to it, you know, you
- 20:29Speaker 1: get butterflies in the stomic and you want to do
- 20:31Speaker 1: everything right because you're working with a comedic icon. Yes sir,
- 20:36Speaker 1: yes sir, yes sir, it's real. Are you working with
- 20:40Speaker 1: a Richard Brown and Flip Wilson, Eddie Murphy. It's Martin
- 20:44Speaker 1: Lawrence that you have that opportunity to do that tour
- 20:48Speaker 1: with him, so you try to do everything right. That's
- 20:50Speaker 1: that's that's the that's the only that That's the first
- 20:53Speaker 1: time in twenty years that I lost sleep over a
- 20:57Speaker 1: comedy show. You know, my ELPs. You know when Mike ELPs,
- 21:01Speaker 1: Mike ELPs goes last and I host the show, but
- 21:04Speaker 1: Martin Lawrence, I have a slot and in that slot
- 21:08Speaker 1: you better bring it. You better bring he and I
- 21:11Speaker 1: and and but you followed money. You come out that
- 21:14Speaker 1: Martin mars on this tour right, Oh yeah, yeah. He
- 21:18Speaker 1: goes out there and do it and then he introduced me.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And I'm gonna tell you some man, when Mark Lawrence
- 21:25Speaker 1: introduced you, man, and when he walked out that stage
- 21:27Speaker 1: and he looked you in your eyes and smile man,
- 21:29Speaker 1: that that that gets me more fighter than I ever
- 21:32Speaker 1: been in my life, because when you look at me,
- 21:36Speaker 1: you know what that says to me, were son, he
- 21:38Speaker 1: that says I picked you. I believe in you, I
- 21:43Speaker 1: respect you. You're funny. I'm not worried about it. Go
- 21:47Speaker 1: out there and kill him and recerning I promise to God,
- 21:51Speaker 1: I have not in in in felt that kind of energy,
- 21:58Speaker 1: uh in you and I tried. I go out there
- 22:02Speaker 1: and I tried to lay that audience completely out. I
- 22:06Speaker 1: got some stuff that's just some material that's so funny
- 22:10Speaker 1: that that is just it's just sickening. Okay, I gotta
- 22:13Speaker 1: come see you, man. Okay, I think that May twenty six,
- 22:16Speaker 1: you with the Martin Lawrence tour in Houston, Texas June eight.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Things you call go like, Okay, May, you're gonna be
- 22:22Speaker 1: in Cleveland. Might come up to Cleveland definitely, Dallas May fifth.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Can I say one more things? Yes, sir, every time
- 22:31Speaker 1: I always think of you because you're my friend from Houston.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Every time I watched my six hundred pound life, just
- 22:38Speaker 1: to note that they do they go all the way
- 22:40Speaker 1: down there to lose weight. I said, my friend was
- 22:42Speaker 1: sewn there and that makes me happy, my man, and
