- 1:41Speaker 1: them out. Turn youve got to turn them out to
- 1:45Speaker 1: turn the water the water go. Come come on your thing.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Uh huh, I show well off a good morning everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 1: You're listening to the voice, Come onf dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Well,
- 2:12Speaker 1: nothing changes about that. Nothing changes about that. Man. I
- 2:17Speaker 1: was just so getting ready to come on the air
- 2:20Speaker 1: this morning, and I was just thinking, man, I was
- 2:25Speaker 1: just having a reflective moment of just how really good
- 2:29Speaker 1: God has been to me. I just it's it's it's man.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Let me just say that again, how really good God
- 2:39Speaker 1: has been to me. And here's a cold part. In
- 2:43Speaker 1: spite of myself, you understand, in spite of all my shortcomings,
- 2:49Speaker 1: in spite of all of my flaws and and and
- 2:54Speaker 1: and in spite of all of what anybody has said
- 2:57Speaker 1: about me, God, through his grace and mercy, just keeps
- 3:02Speaker 1: me anyway, so many of us are exceptional people, but
- 3:09Speaker 1: we refuse to just go ahead and be exceptional. We
- 3:16Speaker 1: settle for the ordinary. We follow the pack, We try
- 3:22Speaker 1: to fit in. Man, oh man, oh man. You know
- 3:25Speaker 1: I've heard my wife say this to my children all
- 3:29Speaker 1: the time when she's scolding them and talking to him.
- 3:31Speaker 1: She'd be talking to him about leadership. You know, why
- 3:34Speaker 1: are you following everybody when God clearly made you to lead?
- 3:38Speaker 1: So many of us are born, and so many of
- 3:40Speaker 1: you are born to be exceptional people, but we always
- 3:45Speaker 1: trying to follow the pack. Why would you try to
- 3:49Speaker 1: fit in? Why would you try to be like everybody
- 3:54Speaker 1: else be ordinary? Why would you follow the pack when
- 3:59Speaker 1: God has created you to be exceptional. The key word
- 4:03Speaker 1: in exceptional is except you. Ever you ever done this
- 4:07Speaker 1: right here? You know, everybody did that accept me. Everybody
- 4:12Speaker 1: felt that way except me. Everybody said that except me.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Everybody won't wanted that. Accept me. Everybody went over that
- 4:24Speaker 1: except me. Everybody jumped in except me, accept me. See
- 4:31Speaker 1: why have you saying that in your life? If you
- 4:34Speaker 1: were not to be exceptional? See, you got to say
- 4:38Speaker 1: everybody accept me at one point in You'll to I
- 4:41Speaker 1: don't know who ain't done it. You know, everybody wanted.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Everybody voted no except me, see it? So you're not
- 4:50Speaker 1: You're not created to follow the pack. You ain't created
- 4:52Speaker 1: to fit in. You ain't created to uh you know,
- 4:56Speaker 1: to be ordinary. You will create it to be exceptional,
- 5:00Speaker 1: as exceptional as your fingerprint on your finger is. You
- 5:04Speaker 1: were created to be exceptional. Why not make this the
- 5:08Speaker 1: year that you go ahead on and be exceptional? Why
- 5:12Speaker 1: won't this be the year that you decide in your mind?
- 5:16Speaker 1: But just has to be a decision that we make.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Now we're not following the pack no more. We're not
- 5:22Speaker 1: trying to fit in no more. We ain't settling for
- 5:25Speaker 1: ordinary no more. We're gonna be exceptional. But you know,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you got you got to go ahead and follow that.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You got to get on the exceptional path because that's
- 5:34Speaker 1: what you were created for. Why be ordinary? You know?
- 5:37Speaker 1: But all of this this comes to it has to
- 5:40Speaker 1: start with a thought. You got to first think something
- 5:45Speaker 1: thought to become things. A man is as he thinketh
- 5:49Speaker 1: that's all you will ever be. So what are your
- 5:53Speaker 1: thoughts today? Why not have exceptional thoughts instead of ordinary thoughts?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Why not have exceptional thoughts instead? At a fit knee
- 6:00Speaker 1: in thoughts? So why you want to be like everybody else?
- 6:04Speaker 1: Why you want to be ordinary when you could possibly
- 6:06Speaker 1: be extraordinary with a change of your mind, a change
- 6:11Speaker 1: of your venue, and you don't have to be any
- 6:13Speaker 1: other kind of way just because my mama was this way,
- 6:17Speaker 1: my daddy was this way, or this the school I
- 6:19Speaker 1: went to? This? What race I belong to? This is
- 6:22Speaker 1: my sexual preference, this is my this, this is my daddy?
- 6:26Speaker 1: How many? How many? How many excuses you need? I'm
- 6:29Speaker 1: an excuse? What? What? What? What? You? What's it gonna
- 6:31Speaker 1: be this year that we let another three hundred and
- 6:35Speaker 1: sixty five days slip by without improving our condition, our place,
- 6:40Speaker 1: our spot, our life, the quality of life we have.
- 6:45Speaker 1: We cannot afford to keep letting all these years go
- 6:50Speaker 1: by without changing. You're an exceptional person. How many times
- 6:56Speaker 1: have you set up and said, everybody did that? Accept me?
- 7:01Speaker 1: You know I was only everybody jumped in accept me.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I told him I knew it. Everybody voted for that,
- 7:07Speaker 1: accept me? And now look at it, man, it seemed
- 7:12Speaker 1: like everybody went that way, accept me. Okay, do you
- 7:17Speaker 1: get it? Do you understand what's being said to you
- 7:22Speaker 1: that an't accept me is because couldn't it be? Because
- 7:25Speaker 1: you're an exceptional person, and it's time for you to
- 7:28Speaker 1: take control of that. It's time for you to start
- 7:31Speaker 1: thinking different. It's time for you to start acting on
- 7:34Speaker 1: what you think. It's time for you to start doing
- 7:37Speaker 1: something about it. It's time for you to stop taking
- 7:39Speaker 1: each and every day that God gives us for granted
- 7:42Speaker 1: and letting them go by the wayside, like you got
- 7:45Speaker 1: plenty more. Well, you may have plenty of mode, but
- 7:48Speaker 1: guess what what you wasting the ones you got for?
- 7:52Speaker 1: I got you young, and you and you feel like
- 7:54Speaker 1: you're gonna live forever. Dah, okay, cool, But let me
- 7:57Speaker 1: ask you something. See here here, here, here the part
- 8:00Speaker 1: about pose you do live? See see everybody willing about dying.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But I got news for you. Suppose you keep on living.
- 8:07Speaker 1: You want to keep living in the condition you in now.
- 8:10Speaker 1: You want to keep living with the money you got now.
- 8:13Speaker 1: You want to keep living with the relationship you got now.
- 8:16Speaker 1: You want to keep living by yourself like you are now.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You want to keep wanting the right relationship, the right man,
- 8:21Speaker 1: the the right woman, but you keep getting the wrong one.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You want to keep doing that for the rest of
- 8:26Speaker 1: your life. Problem ain't dying. It's problem is if you
- 8:28Speaker 1: keep on living. Who wants to keep on living just
- 8:32Speaker 1: the way they are right now? And if you could
- 8:35Speaker 1: say I'm cool, what I am? Just the way I
- 8:36Speaker 1: am right now? In cool, this conversation ain't for you.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I ain't got no problem with that. You know, you
- 8:42Speaker 1: want to say, greatness ain't for everybody being exceptional, ain't
- 8:47Speaker 1: for everybody. Becoming extraordinary, ain't fun everybody. Heck, becoming successful
- 8:52Speaker 1: ain't fun everybody. I got it. And you can come
- 8:55Speaker 1: up with a way to justify your non existence in
- 8:58Speaker 1: your ordinary life all you want, and that's fine and dandy.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I ain't got no problem with it. Because some people
- 9:04Speaker 1: just gonna be regular. Some people just gonna follow the pack,
- 9:08Speaker 1: follow the crowd. Some people just wants to fit in.
- 9:12Speaker 1: But if you're not that person, if you want to
- 9:14Speaker 1: be extraordinary, if you want to be exceptional, if you
- 9:18Speaker 1: want to be if you want to dare to be
- 9:20Speaker 1: great at something, and you got to change your mind set.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You got to get with your creating, find out what
- 9:25Speaker 1: he created you fault. You gotta quit thinking of things
- 9:28Speaker 1: just in your own thought process. You know, lean not
- 9:32Speaker 1: to your own understanding. I don't know what that is,
- 9:34Speaker 1: but it's in there somewhere. Seeing Once you lean, if
- 9:37Speaker 1: you lean to your own understanding, you know what it's
- 9:39Speaker 1: gonna do. It's gonna limit you. Man, It's gonna limit you.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Why not see what God got for you? I would
- 9:46Speaker 1: rather know what God got for me than to think
- 9:48Speaker 1: of all the things I could because I can't out
- 9:51Speaker 1: think him out and tried it before. All right, it's
- 9:54Speaker 1: just the beginning. We're gonna have a good one. Man.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Let's go. You're listening, ladies and gentlemen. It is a
- 10:03Speaker 1: partners to Steve Harvey Morning Show, Alive and well, willing,
- 10:07Speaker 1: en Abel Caine enable, Chad Rack, be shock and bend
- 10:12Speaker 1: the gold, Daniel Joe, anybody but the dude that got
- 10:19Speaker 1: squallowed up by the whale. Even if he spit me out,
- 10:24Speaker 1: I'm in this water. I'm still in trouble. Didn't want
- 10:29Speaker 1: to be Daniel though, because that lines then I'm definitely
- 10:32Speaker 1: ain't gonna be able to keep my cool. I'm in
- 10:34Speaker 1: the corner. They're gonna smell feel and then I can't
- 10:38Speaker 1: get thrown in the furnace because all my fabrics has
- 10:42Speaker 1: highly combustion. So I'm just saying, thank you Lord for
- 10:47Speaker 1: the life you then gave me. I showed don't want
- 10:50Speaker 1: to be a Bible story even though I am. Ye man,
- 10:56Speaker 1: I think, But then you know what, ain't we all?
- 10:59Speaker 1: We all all all Bible story if you tell it.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I know are those who are afraid to tell that
- 11:05Speaker 1: story because they have a history that could cost them
- 11:08Speaker 1: their future. But you are a Bible study, Ladies, Jitima,
- 11:12Speaker 1: Steve Harvey, Martin Show, Shannon Strawberry Collin for Real, Mississippi,
- 11:16Speaker 1: Monica Junior and the legend that is Nephew Tommy Junior.
- 11:22Speaker 1: What's on your mind today? You know what? Let me
- 11:25Speaker 1: ask you this man. Let's just talk about this man.
- 11:27Speaker 1: But because I hear your energy today, Man, he did
- 11:30Speaker 1: your time? Well, what keeps you positive? This positive? All
- 11:33Speaker 1: the time? We stay positive because I know for a
- 11:37Speaker 1: fact that this too shall pass. I know for a
- 11:41Speaker 1: fact that everything I've ever been through he has bought
- 11:45Speaker 1: me through. I know for a fact that he didn't
- 11:50Speaker 1: bring me this far to leave me. I know for
- 11:54Speaker 1: a fact that, as one of my T shirts said,
- 11:59Speaker 1: it's God versus my enemies. So when you are equipped
- 12:06Speaker 1: with that information, when you are equipped with Isaiah fifty
- 12:10Speaker 1: four seventeen, that no weapon for him to givest me
- 12:14Speaker 1: shall possibly when and I've seen it. It's been proven
- 12:19Speaker 1: to me over and over and again. When doors close
- 12:22Speaker 1: in my face, I show no signs of despair because
- 12:28Speaker 1: all I know now I've learned over the years. When
- 12:30Speaker 1: the door closes, walk up the hall. He got some mods.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I know for a fact that I can walk through
- 12:38Speaker 1: the rivers and not drown, that I can walk through
- 12:41Speaker 1: the fire and not be burned, nor what kindling set
- 12:44Speaker 1: upon my clothes? Boy? What boy? What boy? Boy? Ask
- 12:52Speaker 1: me why I can stay positive? Because I know what
- 12:55Speaker 1: he'd do. I know what he'd do. Man, I have
- 12:59Speaker 1: seen him do it to me anytime. I'm living proof
- 13:02Speaker 1: of what he does because technically I have no business
- 13:05Speaker 1: being here. My name on everything? What madam Onna? Fiel Boys, Yeah,
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'm on truck Godfreed, the comedian is doing bits of
- 13:17Speaker 1: me in front of trucks. I ain't even know I
- 13:19Speaker 1: was on. I I'm everyone looking here. I'm on the
- 13:24Speaker 1: side of Trump. Whatever you're imitating Godfrey, who's imitating? Yeah?
- 13:33Speaker 1: It ain't even googling, really, but I like it all right,
- 13:37Speaker 1: coming up in thirty two minutes after the hour, we'll
- 13:40Speaker 1: run that prank back with a nephew right after this.
- 13:43Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, guys,
- 13:47Speaker 1: to start your morning off, here is the nephew to
- 13:49Speaker 1: run that prank back. What you got now? One of

- 15:09Speaker 1: it's I mean, I don't even know how to break

- 15:13Speaker 1: out there. Okay, Just and just hit me out, man,
- 15:16Speaker 1: just hit me out. It's been brought to my attention
- 15:19Speaker 1: that there is a strong possibility that one of the
- 15:24Speaker 1: twins is mine. Oh are you crazy? Them? Man? Who
- 15:28Speaker 1: you say you is? Again? Man? Just can man? Man, look, man,
- 15:31Speaker 1: don't call my house with this man high twin gonna
- 15:35Speaker 1: be yours? Man, they's my twins, man, they man. I
- 15:38Speaker 1: found out and I thought I thought the same thing
- 15:40Speaker 1: you thought, Tony. I was like, okay, man, they doesn't
- 15:42Speaker 1: even biologically possible, man, what I thought? But I found
- 15:46Speaker 1: out that two seeds could actually join together create twins,
- 15:50Speaker 1: and each one of them could have a different daddy.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I'm finding this out for the first for firsthand myself.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Oh man, you ain't fun man. Look man, whatever man,
- 15:58Speaker 1: I'm telling you, dog, the kids is mine. Man, Hey,

- 16:08Speaker 1: I'm trying to do is get to the bottom of something.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Let me let me, let me, let me listen to them.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Let me ask you to your set of twins. Are
- 16:16Speaker 1: they are they? I mean? Are they the same shade
- 16:18Speaker 1: of color? Are they different shades? I mean, I'm just asking.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm never saying. Look dogs, let me tell you something, man.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I want you to get this through your head right now. Man,
- 16:27Speaker 1: whatever you got that's on y'all. Man, This ain't got
- 16:30Speaker 1: nothing to do with my twins. Man, ain't got nothing
- 16:32Speaker 1: to do with my twins. Man, one of them? Dog skin? What?
- 16:36Speaker 1: I'm light skinned? Right down right there? Man? What right there? What? Okay? Tony?

- 20:47Speaker 1: asked the cello. Right after this, you're listening Steve Show.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, Democratic leader
- 20:55Speaker 1: and Georgia gubernatorial candidates Stacy Abrahams will be our special guest.
- 21:00Speaker 1: We'll talk about it. So excited about that, aren't we.
- 21:03Speaker 1: We'll talk about it at the top of the hour,
- 21:05Speaker 1: But right now it is time to ask the CLO
- 21:09Speaker 1: Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey in the building. Yeah, this
- 21:13Speaker 1: one's from Nia in Plano, Nia rights. I got my
- 21:16Speaker 1: five year old daughter from children's church Sunday and she said,
- 21:20Speaker 1: miss d said it was hot a f outside. My
- 21:24Speaker 1: asth miss d to stop using for fanity when she
- 21:27Speaker 1: has done for years on church Browns. We got into
- 21:30Speaker 1: an argument and she has banned my daughter from Children's church.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Should I report her to the pastor well, your daughter
- 21:37Speaker 1: can't come to children church no more because your daughter
- 21:39Speaker 1: can't keep but dayme mouth flow. That's what it is.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Because children's church it is hot a f outside, And
- 21:48Speaker 1: I don't know what is you aren't here repeating it
- 21:50Speaker 1: to your mammy. But you can ban a kid, no, Yeah,
- 22:00Speaker 1: you know they're gonna make up lies about your baby,
- 22:02Speaker 1: you know, and they're stealing crayons and still Sunday school cards,
- 22:08Speaker 1: snack you know, Yeah, your baby pornography on the church computer. Yeah. Yeah,
- 22:17Speaker 1: you're gonna have to report home, yeah, to the past.
- 22:20Speaker 1: All right, Na, okay. Moving on to Rochelle and Memphis,
- 22:24Speaker 1: Rochelle writes, I have a small dog that hates my husband.
- 22:29Speaker 1: All of a sudden, my dog has been drawn into
- 22:32Speaker 1: my husband's pants legs when he comes home. Uh. My
- 22:36Speaker 1: dog even sniffs the dirty laundry. Now that's a sign
- 22:40Speaker 1: that my husband is around someone that has a dog. Yeah,
- 22:46Speaker 1: I think she thinks her husband's cheating. But how can
- 22:50Speaker 1: she be sure of it? Oh a dog. Yeah, because
- 22:53Speaker 1: the dog smells another dog on her husband. That's why
- 22:57Speaker 1: he's after him. Well, then it could be any somebody work,
- 23:00Speaker 1: got a dog. Somebody when he's sitting in the chair,
- 23:03Speaker 1: got a dog. It could be in Then your damn
- 23:06Speaker 1: dog gonna break up your marriage in a dumb ass
- 23:08Speaker 1: can't even talk get of what I smell? A woman
- 23:23Speaker 1: growling at the husband. Ah, man, don't quick, You're gonna
- 23:33Speaker 1: break your marriage up over this damn dog. Yeah, don't
- 23:38Speaker 1: do that. So what they gonna do? Get rid of
- 23:39Speaker 1: the dog? Like Tommy saying, what they gonna do? Oh,
- 23:45Speaker 1: he's gone a little dog, fluffy new ain't gonna be
- 23:51Speaker 1: madd You're gonna be outside range. Dogs are part of
- 23:56Speaker 1: the family, their fur babies, their pets, they're part of
- 23:59Speaker 1: the niches like every other. Yeah, you my dog, and
- 24:08Speaker 1: you needs to be my dog all the way. Don't
- 24:12Speaker 1: act like a little all right, a little week going
- 24:17Speaker 1: on to Clinton and Gulfport This and next to the
- 24:20Speaker 1: last one, Steve Clinton says, I'm a thirty nine year
- 24:23Speaker 1: old married man, and I caught my wife sexting another man.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I walked in on her taking nude pics of herself
- 24:30Speaker 1: in the shower. I called the man and set up
- 24:33Speaker 1: a meeting, but he chickened out and didn't show up.
- 24:36Speaker 1: He knows that he's going to run into me sooner
- 24:39Speaker 1: or later. And how should I handle this situation? Hold on,
- 24:44Speaker 1: you didn't marry him, m what is you looking to
- 24:47Speaker 1: whip him for? Oh? Okay, your house taking naked pictures
- 24:54Speaker 1: of herself to a man. Your problem was with the man,
- 25:00Speaker 1: ain't uh huh? Yeah it is? Yeah, or your huluman
- 25:05Speaker 1: is at that house? You walk in and see your
- 25:09Speaker 1: wife sexting another man? Are you kidding me? So? He
- 25:13Speaker 1: called the man, But call the man to set up
- 25:17Speaker 1: the meeting. The meeting should be at your house. Come on,
- 25:21Speaker 1: your meeting is with the woman that said the vials
- 25:24Speaker 1: to you. That's getting the house sexting the other man.
- 25:29Speaker 1: The man is just a by product. That was risky
- 25:33Speaker 1: what she was doing. Yeah, all right, last, he so
- 25:37Speaker 1: disrespectfully you, and you're the man's man at the man
- 25:41Speaker 1: Hey dog, hey man, yo, yo yo. The way you're
- 25:44Speaker 1: going about this is a little bit off. You ain't
- 25:46Speaker 1: even got to talk to the man dog. You need
- 25:49Speaker 1: to find you need to get a new chick. Okay, yeah,
- 25:54Speaker 1: it's too much. I'm gonna get a new chick. Oh
- 25:57Speaker 1: that's what we're doing. Oh, no problem, Oh no, oh,
- 26:00Speaker 1: that's what we're doing. First of all, let me know
- 26:02Speaker 1: that's what we're doing, so we can all get in
- 26:04Speaker 1: this game. But you gonna find somewhere else to stay. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:09Speaker 1: all right, she's done. All right. Moving on last one,
- 26:11Speaker 1: Steve to Tiffany in Southfield. Tiffany says, whenever my husband
- 26:16Speaker 1: and I get into an argument, he goes to stay
- 26:18Speaker 1: with his sister and he blocks my calls. He won't
- 26:22Speaker 1: even answer my calls on his office phone. His sister
- 26:25Speaker 1: is a big part of it all because she allows
- 26:28Speaker 1: him to run to her every time. I think, as
- 26:31Speaker 1: a woman, she should have my back. Am I right
- 26:34Speaker 1: or wrong? She have my back? No? Wait a minute,
- 26:37Speaker 1: Once again, where y'all putting the blame? How do this
- 26:42Speaker 1: little punk gass dude get the run to his sister house.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I'm in my sids on you. I'm gonna tell my sister.
- 26:50Speaker 1: My sister't gonna see you talk doing me. T is
- 26:55Speaker 1: the way man, sister. I don't understand that your problem
- 27:05Speaker 1: is not with his sister. Your problem is with your
- 27:08Speaker 1: man that runs to his sister. Yeah yeah, but see
- 27:14Speaker 1: the real problem is you keep letting him come back home. Ah,
- 27:18Speaker 1: good point, good point staying over there with the sisters. Huh? Oh?
- 27:27Speaker 1: Is he going to the sisters house? We go? Come on?
- 27:30Speaker 1: He blocked in White Hall because I really, I really,
- 27:33Speaker 1: I'm not going on my sister house. I'm gonna tell
- 27:35Speaker 1: you that right now. No. Oh, no, I'm gonna go
- 27:38Speaker 1: with somebody's house. That don't oh my sister house? What
- 27:43Speaker 1: I look like going on Mona house? You really think
- 27:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Mona? Huse she will be a sister,
- 27:54Speaker 1: but not by blood. Okay, So she wants to know
- 27:59Speaker 1: is she right wrong that as a woman, she thinks
- 28:01Speaker 1: his sister should have her back. No, her sister, that's
- 28:06Speaker 1: his that's his sister. Yeah, blood brother, that's my brother. Definitely. Ya.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Everybody was tripping in the clo man, y'all need dogs
- 28:26Speaker 1: right into a family quarters? Yeah yeah, wrong from talking
- 28:35Speaker 1: George math Is or somebody y'all doing family dynamic. Yeah. Yeah,
- 28:42Speaker 1: she's mad at the sister, not her man. M Wow.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Every time he getting mad, he run over his sister
- 28:49Speaker 1: house and and doesn't answer her calls. Yeah you and
- 28:52Speaker 1: now you think he at the sister house. Girl, stop
- 28:56Speaker 1: but every time, every time? All right, I'm mad again.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Guess I'm going over block this call. Thank you, Cello.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, gubernatorial candidate
- 29:10Speaker 1: Stacy Abrams will be our very special guest. Right after this.
- 29:15Speaker 1: You're listening, how everybody, welcome back to the ride. As promise,
- 29:22Speaker 1: we have very very special guests this morning. This is
- 29:24Speaker 1: an important when you are We've been talking about voting
- 29:27Speaker 1: for a few months now. We've been talking about registration,
- 29:30Speaker 1: we've been talking about voter suppression, We've been talking about
- 29:34Speaker 1: a lot of things. One of the main topics we've
- 29:36Speaker 1: been talking about is Stacy Abram and so today we
- 29:42Speaker 1: have a very special guest, the former Democratic leader in
- 29:45Speaker 1: the Georgia House of Representatives. She's a lawyer, a voting
- 29:49Speaker 1: rights activists and author. But most importantly, she is now
- 29:52Speaker 1: our Democratic candidate for governor in Georgia, and she's joining
- 29:56Speaker 1: us to share insights of her candidacy. So let's get
- 29:59Speaker 1: to it. Everybody, Please, welcome to Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Our next governor. If we do the right thing, now,
- 30:07Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, Miss Stacey Abrams, welcome, welcome, welcome, Miss Abrams.
- 30:15Speaker 1: How are you today? I'm doing well. Thank you for
- 30:17Speaker 1: having me. Happy to have you in the studio too.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Really nice visit man. You know. Now let's start with
- 30:23Speaker 1: a couple of things. This is important because this first
- 30:25Speaker 1: question was printed up by the woman to your immediate right,
- 30:28Speaker 1: because she has to promote the state of Mississippi because
- 30:31Speaker 1: that's where she's from. So she wanted me to say
- 30:34Speaker 1: this right off the back. You grew up in Mississippi,
- 30:37Speaker 1: your graduate of an HBCU, Spellman College, ball Man. Come on, now,
- 30:42Speaker 1: I have a daughter that graduated from Spells and two
- 30:46Speaker 1: boys at Moore House. Notice I didn't say they graduated
- 30:55Speaker 1: down there on a full year degree then year number
- 30:58Speaker 1: six anyway. Also the University of Texas a graduate and
- 31:05Speaker 1: Yale Law School. Wow, fark show interest in pursuing politics
- 31:09Speaker 1: in the first place, to say, growing up poor in Mississippi,
- 31:13Speaker 1: that was it. When you grow up in a place
- 31:16Speaker 1: that you love and in this continue when we moved
- 31:19Speaker 1: to Georgia. But you see communities that are doing everything
- 31:22Speaker 1: they're told to do and they still can't move ahead.
- 31:25Speaker 1: When you understand that it's not just your it's not
- 31:28Speaker 1: a lack of effort on the part of people trying.
- 31:30Speaker 1: It's the intentional barriers that are put in place by
- 31:34Speaker 1: state government. And we saw that recently with what's happening
- 31:37Speaker 1: in Jackson and the water issue. But it happens across
- 31:39Speaker 1: the South all the time. My parents used to take
- 31:42Speaker 1: us out to volunteer, and I would look around and think,
- 31:45Speaker 1: two black people and there's six black children. Can not
- 31:47Speaker 1: fix Mississippi. So I wanted to know who should be
- 31:51Speaker 1: doing this, who should be solving these problems, and that
- 31:53Speaker 1: was government. So I went into politics. Wow, well, we're
- 31:56Speaker 1: glad you did. Now this is your after your own
- 32:00Speaker 1: break in two eighteen campaign as governor. You didn't just quit.
- 32:06Speaker 1: What did you learn from that campaign? Who want to
- 32:09Speaker 1: dash that it's possible. What we were able to deliver
- 32:13Speaker 1: in twenty eighteen was a transformed electorate. We saw people
- 32:18Speaker 1: who had never viewed themselves as part of the voting process.
- 32:22Speaker 1: They showed up. We saw communities that believed that nothing
- 32:25Speaker 1: would ever change show up. And while it didn't get
- 32:28Speaker 1: me across the finish line, it did get Lucy macbeth
- 32:30Speaker 1: into Congress. And it set the stage for Raphael Warnock,
- 32:34Speaker 1: John ass Off and President Biden. And for me, what
- 32:37Speaker 1: was so critical is that sometimes you've got to believe
- 32:40Speaker 1: something without having real proof. Wow, And I didn't know.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I believe that I was right about what we could do.
- 32:47Speaker 1: But what twenty eighteen showed me was that if we
- 32:49Speaker 1: continue to invest in and respect our communities, especially black communities,
- 32:54Speaker 1: and we treat them with respect. We don't presume that
- 32:57Speaker 1: we have support, but we're willing to fight for that support,
- 33:00Speaker 1: then we can change the future. You know, I watched
- 33:06Speaker 1: that campaign. I don't know if people understand not only
- 33:10Speaker 1: did you run, but what you did for voter registration
- 33:14Speaker 1: in the state of Georgia was unheard of, and you
- 33:17Speaker 1: did it in a way and it did so much
- 33:20Speaker 1: for other people. I think this second run, I think,
- 33:22Speaker 1: I think we're lined up because I think you have
- 33:25Speaker 1: something that a lot of us are concerned about. And
- 33:29Speaker 1: that's what that's what you are calling unfinished business. Let's
- 33:34Speaker 1: let's let's talk about that, because I mean, I'm pretty
- 33:37Speaker 1: sure they have some ideas you have. It was number one,
- 33:41Speaker 1: we are about to lose one of only two Level
- 33:44Speaker 1: one trauma centers in Metro Atlanta, So just spit in context. Charleston,
- 33:48Speaker 1: South Carolina has three of them. Metro Atlanta, fifty seven
- 33:52Speaker 1: percent of the state population, only has two, and one
- 33:55Speaker 1: of them is about to shut down, and it will
- 33:56Speaker 1: be the sixth hospital to shut down under this governor.
- 34:00Speaker 1: It's not because we can't afford it. It's because he
- 34:02Speaker 1: refuses to bring home twelve billion dollars and money that
- 34:07Speaker 1: we've already paid into the system. But it's not just
- 34:09Speaker 1: about non accepting the money. It's about five hundred thousand
- 34:12Speaker 1: people who are working, people who make nine dollars an
- 34:15Speaker 1: hour who can't get health insurns because he's too mean
- 34:18Speaker 1: to let them have it. It's about senior citizens who
- 34:20Speaker 1: need to go into nursing homes they're being denied that money.
- 34:23Speaker 1: And it's about the home healthcare workers who can't get
- 34:26Speaker 1: a real wage because he won't increase the reimbursement rates.
- 34:30Speaker 1: But it's also sixty four thousand jobs across the state
- 34:32Speaker 1: of Georgia, and those jobs go to the places where
- 34:35Speaker 1: people don't have insurance. This is the biggest economic development opportunity.
- 34:40Speaker 1: People want to talk about better jobs, Medicaid expansion saves lives,
- 34:43Speaker 1: creates jobs, saves hospitals. But this governor has absolutely refused
- 34:47Speaker 1: to do it, and he sued Joe Biden because Joe
- 34:52Speaker 1: Biden said, we need you to do more, and he
- 34:54Speaker 1: won't do it. Why, okay, two questions twofold. Why is
- 35:02Speaker 1: he closing the hospital? What's his reasoning, and what's the
- 35:06Speaker 1: real reason he's closing? The hospital is being closed by
- 35:09Speaker 1: well Star, that's the company that owns the hospital. They're
- 35:12Speaker 1: closing it because they had to take in a hundred
- 35:13Speaker 1: thousand injurgent and charity cases without getting reimbursed. They said
- 35:18Speaker 1: they can't afford it. The reality is, though, if he
- 35:20Speaker 1: had expanded Medicaid four years ago, they would have had
- 35:22Speaker 1: the money because those patients wouldn't have been indigent. Those
- 35:25Speaker 1: patients would have had insurance. He won't do it because
- 35:28Speaker 1: he's too mean. He does not believe that poor people
- 35:30Speaker 1: deserve insurance. That's a bottom one. Wow, that's you know
- 35:34Speaker 1: that this is the thing that's troubled me for a
- 35:37Speaker 1: long time. For us to be the quote unquote best
- 35:40Speaker 1: country in the world, the richest country in the world,
- 35:43Speaker 1: the freest customers, and we won't do a simple thing
- 35:46Speaker 1: like take care of our sick, take care of our poor. Hey, listen, everybody,
- 35:50Speaker 1: we'll be right back. We will have more Without governor
- 35:53Speaker 1: candidate Miss Stacey Ables right after this, you'd be the
- 35:55Speaker 1: next governor. We're gonna do the right thing. Steve Argan Nation,
- 35:58Speaker 1: we're voting. I'm telling you flat out, you're ill tall
- 36:04Speaker 1: way back. Our special guests this morning is Miss Stacey Abrams.
- 36:08Speaker 1: She's running for the governor of the state of Georgia.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Listen to everybody. We've been talking about this thing for
- 36:13Speaker 1: months now. We gotta get busy. It's go time now.
- 36:15Speaker 1: It's all that's messing around all these people sitting up
- 36:17Speaker 1: in Hire, Man, We've had enough of this. The minority
- 36:21Speaker 1: cannot control the majority. That's not how this is supposed
- 36:24Speaker 1: to work. This is not the electoral college vote. We
- 36:27Speaker 1: have a chance where the popular vote actually wins. This
- 36:31Speaker 1: is not no electoral mess right here. So if we
- 36:34Speaker 1: show up like we did for us off in Water,
- 36:37Speaker 1: and we saw up like we did for Biden and Harris,
- 36:40Speaker 1: we won't have the first African American female governor ever
- 36:46Speaker 1: in the United States. And we have got to send
- 36:49Speaker 1: that message to our children. Look, we got our first
- 36:52Speaker 1: African American female Supreme Court justice. That's the first, and
- 36:57Speaker 1: we're gonna we're gonna accomplish another first, because it's time,
- 37:01Speaker 1: it's necessary. She has the right there. I especially guests
- 37:04Speaker 1: this morning, Stacey even, we're talking about unfinished business when
- 37:08Speaker 1: we left, and we're talking about we're talking about the
- 37:10Speaker 1: hospitals that were closing a boy Will style. You know,
- 37:13Speaker 1: it's amazing to me how how it even got to this.
- 37:16Speaker 1: But you mentioned sixty four thousand jobs. Yes, so in
- 37:20Speaker 1: every state that has expanded medicaid, they added jobs. New
- 37:23Speaker 1: Jersey got fifty five thousand jobs. Indiana when Mike Pence,
- 37:27Speaker 1: the Republican Mike Pence expanded Medicaid when he was governor
- 37:30Speaker 1: of Indiana, they got more than thirty thousand new jobs.
- 37:32Speaker 1: The jobs go where the communities are because when you
- 37:35Speaker 1: have people without insurance, they can suddenly afford to pay
- 37:38Speaker 1: for their doctor visits. You have more doctors, you have
- 37:41Speaker 1: more nurses, You have people who have to start feeding them,
- 37:44Speaker 1: so you have more cafeterias that get set up, you
- 37:46Speaker 1: have more construction. All of these things start to grow,
- 37:49Speaker 1: and especially in rural black Georgia, that's where we have
- 37:53Speaker 1: the heaviest populations of people without insurance. They will get
- 37:56Speaker 1: jobs there and so this is an economic development opportunity.
- 38:00Speaker 1: But we've got to stop thinking about medicaid as insurance
- 38:04Speaker 1: for poor people. This is a financing mechanism. It is
- 38:07Speaker 1: how because the rest of us are paying their bills.
- 38:10Speaker 1: If people get insurance, we stop paying their bills because
- 38:12Speaker 1: the hospitals are gonna get their money when we or
- 38:14Speaker 1: the other. And right now it goes through our taxes.
- 38:17Speaker 1: We pay more in taxes, even though we've already paid
- 38:20Speaker 1: federal taxes to pay for the program. You know, we've
- 38:23Speaker 1: got to talk to the people right now about the
- 38:25Speaker 1: urgency of fold. How important is this election in Georgia
- 38:30Speaker 1: will become the first state that goes majority minority in
- 38:33Speaker 1: the Deep South. We will be the only state in
- 38:35Speaker 1: the nation where black people will be the majority of
- 38:37Speaker 1: the minority. And that will happen under this next governor.
- 38:40Speaker 1: If we have the governor we have now. He has
- 38:43Speaker 1: been very comfortable with there being a one hundred year
- 38:45Speaker 1: gap in economic prosperity between black and brown people and
- 38:50Speaker 1: the majority community. He has been comfortable not paying our teachers.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Our teachers make less as a starting salary than Mississippi.
- 38:57Speaker 1: He has been comfortable with the affordable housing crisis while
- 39:00Speaker 1: he made hundreds of thousands of dollars in real estate.
- 39:03Speaker 1: He will not serve our communities, and he will not
- 39:05Speaker 1: serve Georgia. As governor, I will. We've got a six
- 39:09Speaker 1: point six billion dollars surplus, and I plan to use
- 39:11Speaker 1: that money to actually invest in our people and support
- 39:14Speaker 1: our communities. But we've got to show up because one
- 39:16Speaker 1: way or the other, somebody spending that money. I'd rather
- 39:18Speaker 1: spend it on us than spend it on his friends,
- 39:21Speaker 1: and his friends are benefiting. Man. Hey, y'all staked around.
- 39:24Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more with Stacey Abrams right
- 39:26Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, Hey, listen to everybody. We're back
- 39:34Speaker 1: in our special guests this morning. There's a very own
- 39:36Speaker 1: miss Stacey Abrams, who's running for governor here in the
- 39:39Speaker 1: state of Georgia, and we are going to make it happen.
- 39:44Speaker 1: This is a must for us on several levels. On
- 39:47Speaker 1: a personal note, you know, can I tell you something
- 39:49Speaker 1: that I've noticed. I watched these commercials and I watch
- 39:52Speaker 1: how Republicans do and especially when when they try to
- 39:56Speaker 1: use race and they do it in slight ways. They've
- 40:00Speaker 1: darkened your skin on these commercials. You actually, yeah, oh,
- 40:08Speaker 1: if you look at these commercials, this is not the
- 40:11Speaker 1: same woman that's sitting in front of me. No, they
- 40:14Speaker 1: use they do it everything, man, they do no man,
- 40:19Speaker 1: they use race and you know, with racist tactics, and
- 40:24Speaker 1: they use them all the time. You know, little words
- 40:28Speaker 1: that's out in some of these slogans and the stuff
- 40:31Speaker 1: that keeps people fearful. Instead of knowing the truth, they
- 40:35Speaker 1: try to mask what a person is about with a
- 40:38Speaker 1: bunch of lies and stuff, you know, and they take
- 40:40Speaker 1: some stuff that happened in the past they try to
- 40:42Speaker 1: make it like it's current. They use other things that
- 40:45Speaker 1: happen in other administrations try to apply to this. But
- 40:49Speaker 1: in all of the truth of the matter for us
- 40:51Speaker 1: is Kemp has to go. We've had enough of his policies,
- 40:56Speaker 1: We've had enough of his ways. Uh, it's just enough
- 41:01Speaker 1: is enough, And I think we have the person right
- 41:03Speaker 1: here that can make it done. And being an African
- 41:07Speaker 1: American man myself, I want to talk about that for
- 41:11Speaker 1: a moment because as an African American man, we've got
- 41:15Speaker 1: to show up at these polls in better numbers. We
- 41:18Speaker 1: gotta do better. We gotta do better. I'm just telling
- 41:20Speaker 1: you flat out, we just got to do better. We
- 41:23Speaker 1: gotta show up, we gotta be the muscle that we are.
- 41:27Speaker 1: We are the muscle, and we got to say that.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Why do you all feel that black men play such
- 41:33Speaker 1: an important role in this election? I believe that you
- 41:36Speaker 1: talk to communities with respect, and what has apparently terrified
- 41:41Speaker 1: people is that I respect black men, and so I've
- 41:44Speaker 1: intentionally built a campaign is going into the black community
- 41:47Speaker 1: and specifically having conversations with black men. In electoral politics,
- 41:52Speaker 1: black women basically are the highest participation rates, then white women,
- 41:57Speaker 1: then white men. Black men punch below their weight class
- 41:59Speaker 1: now legitimately so because there's a legitimate distrust of politics,
- 42:04Speaker 1: there's a legitimate despair about what happens. Even though you're
- 42:07Speaker 1: hearing about these low unemployment rates, that's not true for
- 42:10Speaker 1: black men. When you hear about economic opportunity, black men
- 42:13Speaker 1: are not getting the same access. And so for me,
- 42:16Speaker 1: it is disrespectful to not say I see you, I
- 42:20Speaker 1: hear you, and I want to engage you. But let's
- 42:22Speaker 1: be clear, this is not a question of whether I'm
- 42:25Speaker 1: losing black men to Brian Kemp. It is the question
- 42:27Speaker 1: of whether black men believe it's worth trying again. And
- 42:30Speaker 1: I want to make certain that we understand that the
- 42:34Speaker 1: voting power of black men in Georgia is unlike any
- 42:38Speaker 1: other place with competitive races this year, it is extraordinary.
- 42:42Speaker 1: If black women show up the way they have, if
- 42:44Speaker 1: black men show up the way they can, across the board,
- 42:48Speaker 1: we signal that this isn't just about my election. This
- 42:51Speaker 1: is about the economic future, about the political future. I'm
- 42:54Speaker 1: going to use the concealed cary permit, the criminal carry law.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Black men. Brother has a concealed carry permit. He used
- 43:02Speaker 1: to if he gets pulled over, now he doesn't have
- 43:04Speaker 1: a piece of paper to show to prove that he
- 43:06Speaker 1: has the right to that weapon, and the presumption is
- 43:09Speaker 1: not going to be that he has the right to
- 43:10Speaker 1: carry that weapon. That's a black men's issue, it's uniquely
- 43:15Speaker 1: black men's issue. You need a governor who actually understands
- 43:19Speaker 1: the dimensions of our society that treat black men differently.
- 43:22Speaker 1: And this is not about denying or putting pressure on
- 43:26Speaker 1: black men. It's about saying you have the power to
- 43:28Speaker 1: actually set the future, and I want you to know
- 43:31Speaker 1: your power. So I see this as proselytizing. I'm the
- 43:34Speaker 1: dart of pastors. You go and tell people what they
- 43:36Speaker 1: need to know, and you also meet them where they
- 43:39Speaker 1: are and you show them respect. And so my conversations
- 43:42Speaker 1: are about the fact that black men in this state,
- 43:45Speaker 1: when combined with black women and other communities of color
- 43:48Speaker 1: and white people, that we can change the future of
- 43:50Speaker 1: the state. We can afford it, but if we don't,
- 43:53Speaker 1: I promise you, we can't afford the aftermath. I'm going
- 43:56Speaker 1: to really be pushing for that from here all the
- 43:58Speaker 1: way through to the election, because I speak a lot
- 44:01Speaker 1: to black men and men of color all the time. Hey,
- 44:05Speaker 1: we're gonna come back one more time with our governor, Yes,
- 44:09Speaker 1: candidate Stacey Abrams. I speak. I'm about faith. Faith is
- 44:17Speaker 1: belief in things that you cannot see. That's right. I
- 44:20Speaker 1: had too much of that happened in my life. So
- 44:22Speaker 1: we'll be back with Stacey Abrams right after this the governor.
- 44:25Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, We're back, everybody, and we're talking
- 44:33Speaker 1: with Stacey Abrams this morning, who's running for governor for
- 44:36Speaker 1: the state of Georgia. We have the power to make
- 44:38Speaker 1: this happen. Listen to me. We are a very very
- 44:41Speaker 1: powerful voting block. It has been proven. We changed it
- 44:46Speaker 1: in Milwaukee, we changed it in Detroit, we changed it
- 44:50Speaker 1: in Philly, and we changed it in Atlanta. We make
- 44:54Speaker 1: the difference and they know it. They know it. So
- 44:58Speaker 1: we have got to be on point. We have got
- 45:01Speaker 1: to be well aware of vote suppression and everything that
- 45:04Speaker 1: they're doing, and we've got to be really conscious here
- 45:07Speaker 1: in the state of Georgia. Now, we got some work
- 45:09Speaker 1: to do out in Texas. We ever gonna turn that
- 45:12Speaker 1: place blue out there, but we got to vote. We
- 45:14Speaker 1: got close a couple of times. Abbott got to go,
- 45:18Speaker 1: but Kemp has got to go. This dude right here, man,
- 45:23Speaker 1: it's just he's just he's not for us. And well,
- 45:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna say let me let me stop because I'm
- 45:30Speaker 1: gonna say something. I'll just say mine for closing remarks.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Let's talk to Stacy ab I prefer cussin when I
- 45:43Speaker 1: but I'm more effective that way. That praise God anyway.
- 45:49Speaker 1: So let's talk about this. How do you plan to
- 45:53Speaker 1: help people in Georgia actually thrive once you get elected?
- 45:57Speaker 1: Georgia has a six point six billion dollars or plus.
- 45:59Speaker 1: That's after we've paid every bill, after we put fifteen
- 46:02Speaker 1: percent into our savings account. Look, the good Lord only
- 46:05Speaker 1: requires ten percent, but George is fifteen. We have six
- 46:08Speaker 1: point six billion dollars left over. My opponent wants to
- 46:11Speaker 1: take that money and give it to the wealthy. He
- 46:13Speaker 1: calls it a tax cut, but his tax cuts. The
- 46:15Speaker 1: last time he did it, the wealthies Georgian's got ten
- 46:18Speaker 1: thousand dollars. Average Georgians got one hundred and ninety three bucks. Wow,
- 46:23Speaker 1: that's the difference. And if you're in the lowest twenty percent,
- 46:25Speaker 1: you got twenty seven dollars. So that's what he's saying.
- 46:27Speaker 1: When you hear him say his little tax scheme, it's
- 46:31Speaker 1: not for you. My goal is to actually invest in
- 46:34Speaker 1: the basics education. Let's make sure our teachers make a
- 46:37Speaker 1: starting salary of five thousand dollars and that all educators
- 46:40Speaker 1: get an eleven thousand dollar raise. He doesn't believe in that.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Let's make sure that we are paying correctional workers, our
- 46:46Speaker 1: correctional officers, and our community supervision officers a living wage.
- 46:50Speaker 1: That's important to me. I have a brother who's been
- 46:52Speaker 1: in and out the carso system. You don't lose your
- 46:54Speaker 1: humanity when you lose your freedom. We need people who
- 46:57Speaker 1: are actually protecting folks while they're in prison and helping
- 47:00Speaker 1: them get back on their feet when they get out.
- 47:01Speaker 1: But you can't do that if people don't have the
- 47:03Speaker 1: resources to take care of their families. Let's solve the
- 47:05Speaker 1: affordable housing crisis in Georgia. He is sitting on hundreds
- 47:08Speaker 1: of millions of dollars that he refuses to spend. Once again,
- 47:12Speaker 1: much like medicaid, he won't spend the money that Democrats
- 47:15Speaker 1: have sent to the state. That's money that could keep
- 47:17Speaker 1: people from being evicted, that create more affordable housing. I
- 47:20Speaker 1: will spend the money he won't. I want to make
- 47:23Speaker 1: sure that we are also making certain that when people
- 47:25Speaker 1: are applying for contracts, when they're bidding on contracts, when
- 47:29Speaker 1: you've got a small business that just wants a little
- 47:31Speaker 1: bit of a help up, hand up. He took PPP,
- 47:33Speaker 1: but most of our businesses didn't get a dollar. He
- 47:36Speaker 1: got his forgiven, but did nothing through communities. I want
- 47:39Speaker 1: to make sure that we create a ten million dollars
- 47:41Speaker 1: small business fund, but I also want to make certain
- 47:43Speaker 1: that our companies can bid on contracts. He gave a
- 47:45Speaker 1: six hundred and ninety four million dollars no bid contract
- 47:49Speaker 1: to a friend, but most black and brown businesses can't
- 47:51Speaker 1: get a fifty million dollar contract, a five million dollar contract.
- 47:55Speaker 1: He's not going to change, He said, he's going to
- 47:57Speaker 1: study the issue. Look, I've already studied it. He can
- 47:59Speaker 1: cheat off my paper. We've got. We know the answer. Yes,
- 48:04Speaker 1: we know the answers, but we need a governor who's
- 48:07Speaker 1: willing to do it. I like to think of I
- 48:08Speaker 1: could be the Maynard Jackson of Georgia in terms of
- 48:11Speaker 1: our ability to lift our communities economically, politically, in terms
- 48:16Speaker 1: of access to healthcare, access to housing. But it's also
- 48:19Speaker 1: about making sure we protect a woman's right to choose.
- 48:22Speaker 1: This man doesn't believe. In contrast, he said that he's
- 48:24Speaker 1: open to banning certain forms of contraception. He's fine with
- 48:28Speaker 1: pharmacists denying access to medical care to certain communities based
- 48:32Speaker 1: on their political beliefs. We need a govern who believes
- 48:35Speaker 1: in our freedoms and our rights. He's already showed he
- 48:38Speaker 1: doesn't believe in our right to vote. He doesn't believe
- 48:40Speaker 1: a woman's right to choose. He doesn't believe in the
- 48:43Speaker 1: fact that we have the right to be safe, which
- 48:45Speaker 1: is why he weakened gun laws. There's not a single
- 48:47Speaker 1: metric where our ability to thrive is benefited by Brian
- 48:52Speaker 1: Kim's leadership. We've had four years to understand this and well,
- 48:56Speaker 1: and he's dangerous. He doesn't have the same kind of
- 48:59Speaker 1: cartoonish behavior or some but the policies are exactly the same.
- 49:03Speaker 1: He is the exact same person as Greg Abbott, and
- 49:07Speaker 1: Ron De Santist and Donald Trump. He just gets away
- 49:10Speaker 1: with it because he's a little quieter about it. But
- 49:13Speaker 1: the quiet people are the ones you need to be
- 49:14Speaker 1: afraid of it. I've been watching this play out, this campaign,
- 49:23Speaker 1: and it can give me ugly. Well, give me a
- 49:27Speaker 1: couple of truths you'd like for people to know about you?
- 49:30Speaker 1: That you know they say in different things in campaign,
- 49:33Speaker 1: But give me a couple of truths you want people
- 49:35Speaker 1: to know. Number one, I believe that we can have
- 49:39Speaker 1: a complex conversation about who we are. Black people don't
- 49:42Speaker 1: get to have one dimensional lives. I've got a brother
- 49:44Speaker 1: who's been in and now the carsual system, and a
- 49:46Speaker 1: brother who is a social worker. I've got to think
- 49:48Speaker 1: about both of them when I talk about public safety.
- 49:51Speaker 1: I need people who are the victims of one of
- 49:52Speaker 1: my brother's past behavior to get help. But I need
- 49:55Speaker 1: the brother who's trying to help people not to get
- 49:57Speaker 1: pulled over for driving will black. So I talk about
- 50:00Speaker 1: safety and accountability. You don't have to raise taxes in
- 50:03Speaker 1: Georgia to raise our expectations. He's gonna lie and say
- 50:06Speaker 1: that that's what I want to do, because that's what
- 50:07Speaker 1: they always say about Democrats. But watch, he's taken every
- 50:10Speaker 1: dollar Georgia his sent Now he's not spending it on Georgians.
- 50:13Speaker 1: He's spending it on his friends. He's spending it on
- 50:16Speaker 1: his priorities instead of giving it to the people who
- 50:18Speaker 1: deserve it and who need it. I plan to do
- 50:20Speaker 1: what I've always done when I didn't have the job
- 50:22Speaker 1: of governor. I created I paid off the medical debts
- 50:25Speaker 1: of sixty eight thousand Georgians. I put one hundred and
- 50:28Speaker 1: fifty Wi Fi devices throughout the state of Georgia to
- 50:30Speaker 1: make sure people had access to the internet during COVID.
- 50:32Speaker 1: He didn't do that. What I was willing to do
- 50:35Speaker 1: when I didn't have the job is the predicate for
- 50:37Speaker 1: what I will do with the job. But the truth
- 50:39Speaker 1: I need people to carry is that we can win
- 50:42Speaker 1: polls are a snapshot of what people think, But the
- 50:46Speaker 1: reality is who are they taking a picture of. They're
- 50:49Speaker 1: not taking pictures in our communities. They're not taking pictures
- 50:52Speaker 1: of the folks who were still trying to deal with COVID.
- 50:54Speaker 1: COVID may not be killing as many people, but it's
- 50:56Speaker 1: not over. They're not taking a picture of that home
- 50:59Speaker 1: healthcare worker who can't take care of her own children
- 51:02Speaker 1: when she goes to work to take care of someone
- 51:03Speaker 1: else's family. They're not taking a picture of that college
- 51:07Speaker 1: student and an HBCU has to drop out because their
- 51:09Speaker 1: GPA fell during COVID. And in Georgia, if you have
- 51:12Speaker 1: a C average, you lose hope. Black kids are the
- 51:14Speaker 1: most like or the least likely to get hope and
- 51:16Speaker 1: the most likely to lose hope. I want to create
- 51:18Speaker 1: need based aid. We've got the money. We've got a
- 51:20Speaker 1: billion dollars for that purpose that he won't spend. I
- 51:24Speaker 1: want to restore free technical college. We've got money for it.
- 51:27Speaker 1: He won't spend it. And if he won't spend it
- 51:30Speaker 1: now when he needs our help, imagine what he's going
- 51:32Speaker 1: to do to us when he no longer needs us.
- 51:34Speaker 1: He's lamed uck. He can't run for reelection. The only
- 51:37Speaker 1: thing he can do next is run for president. But
- 51:40Speaker 1: if we don't do what we need to for the
- 51:42Speaker 1: next four years, we will be the victims of this man,
- 51:45Speaker 1: as opposed to the victors in our own story. And
- 51:48Speaker 1: I want us to be the victors of our story.
- 51:50Speaker 1: That's not what's in his commercials, but that's within my
- 51:52Speaker 1: heart right, that's well saying. You know, listen, folks, we've
- 51:59Speaker 1: got to vote. We've got to get out in record numbers,
- 52:03Speaker 1: and we've got to do better than before. We've already
- 52:06Speaker 1: proven that our vote counts. It really does count. Your
- 52:08Speaker 1: vote matters. Let me just take a minute too, to
- 52:12Speaker 1: my brother's out here. Listen, man, I know how we feel.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I still when I get pulled over. I was playing
- 52:18Speaker 1: golf with my buddy that passed recently, Greg CALHOUNA. We
- 52:21Speaker 1: were coming from Alabama and the win Lake Golf Course
- 52:24Speaker 1: and we got pulled over. He was speeding and I
- 52:27Speaker 1: put both hands on the dashboard and I was a passenger.
- 52:31Speaker 1: The officer happened to be a white woman. She came
- 52:33Speaker 1: up and said, why are you acting nervous? Why is
- 52:35Speaker 1: your hands on the dashboard. I looked at her and said,
- 52:37Speaker 1: because I don't want to get shot. My hands is
- 52:40Speaker 1: on the dashboard. Well, give me your ID. We got
- 52:43Speaker 1: another problem, man, My ID is in a bag behind
- 52:46Speaker 1: my seat. I would have to turn around and get that.
- 52:49Speaker 1: I had to be clear about this. And then when
- 52:52Speaker 1: she got my ID, she came back and said, oh
- 52:54Speaker 1: my god, it's you. Oh well, everybody else don't get that.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's you. But if I didn't have
- 53:01Speaker 1: that idea, it could have been something else. So I
- 53:03Speaker 1: do understand. And we've got to get out here, brothers,
- 53:06Speaker 1: and we've got to show our strength and our worth
- 53:08Speaker 1: in our value. And we got to vote. We got
- 53:10Speaker 1: to go out and support these women. Women can't do anymore.
- 53:13Speaker 1: We got to do our share. I understand how you
- 53:16Speaker 1: feel about it in the past. I know what we've
- 53:18Speaker 1: been through. I know how it is. But that's okay.
- 53:21Speaker 1: We got to vote anyway, HBCUs. We got to vote.
- 53:25Speaker 1: We have got to get Stacy Abrams as the governor
- 53:28Speaker 1: of Georgia before you left him. Waste another dollar of
- 53:33Speaker 1: our money. Go to when we all vote, dot org
- 53:36Speaker 1: to find out where you're voting. Pole is, what are
- 53:38Speaker 1: your requirements? Because voter suppression is real y'all, Miss Abrams,
- 53:43Speaker 1: thank you for joining us this morning, and it's been
- 53:45Speaker 1: it has been a real pleasure, ladies and gentleman. The
- 53:48Speaker 1: next governor of the state of Georgia, Miss Stacey Abrams,
- 53:51Speaker 1: Yes you're listening. Well, we want to say thank you again.
- 54:02Speaker 1: She's powerful, She's one of the smartest people I've ever
- 54:05Speaker 1: met in my life. Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams, thank
- 54:10Speaker 1: you so much for joining us today. We have to
- 54:12Speaker 1: get out and vote, Steve. I mean it's just imperative.
- 54:15Speaker 1: We have to get out and vote early voting. Its
- 54:17Speaker 1: starting Scott too. I mean, look, the alternative is not good. Yeah. Look,
- 54:22Speaker 1: we've said he and we've dealt with this. I just
- 54:25Speaker 1: don't understand, leon know what I'm I'm confused. I'm confused
- 54:32Speaker 1: for women. First of all, ro versus Wade should have
- 54:37Speaker 1: been a female decision, purely to me. Yeah, I don't
- 54:42Speaker 1: even see why why me and vote. They don't know
- 54:46Speaker 1: anything about what that is, birth, how it feels to
- 54:49Speaker 1: be pregnant, none of that. Yeah, they don't. They don't
- 54:52Speaker 1: know about the decision that could be made. Men should
- 54:55Speaker 1: have been out of it for this party to take
- 54:58Speaker 1: a stand for everybody in this country to make a
- 55:03Speaker 1: decision for you with your body, your life and your
- 55:09Speaker 1: productive sales, that you have to do this because sex
- 55:15Speaker 1: was committed. So now it just it It alarms me
- 55:22Speaker 1: that because you're just in a party, you're supposed to
- 55:24Speaker 1: agree with that when clearly I know you don't. Yeah,
- 55:29Speaker 1: I just don't understand how a woman does not want
- 55:33Speaker 1: the choice vote for your reproductive rights. Just just get
- 55:38Speaker 1: out in boom period. It's just it's just the way
- 55:42Speaker 1: women should be. And I don't even like to say
- 55:45Speaker 1: this word what we should allow women to do? What
- 55:47Speaker 1: the hell? But I like, as a man, you're standing
- 55:51Speaker 1: up for women and our rights, you know, and all
- 55:53Speaker 1: of that. More should do the same. Um, you know. Again,
- 55:58Speaker 1: Thank you to Stacy Abrams. Please get out and vote
- 56:00Speaker 1: in November. We're gonna switch gears here now, Steve, it
- 56:04Speaker 1: is time for today's Strawberry Letter. If you need advice
- 56:08Speaker 1: on relationships, on dating, work, parenting, sex, and more, please
- 56:11Speaker 1: submit your Strawberry Letter to Steve HARVEYFM dot com and
- 56:15Speaker 1: click submit Strawberry Letter. We could be reading your letter
- 56:18Speaker 1: live on the air, and you never know, it could
- 56:20Speaker 1: be yours, all right, that's it. Buckle up, old on tight.
- 56:24Speaker 1: We got it for you. Here it ease strawberry letter,
- 56:27Speaker 1: Thank you nephew. Subject his cousin is spreading it around.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley. My husband and I've been together since
- 56:34Speaker 1: we were seventeen, and we've been married for three years.
- 56:38Speaker 1: We are both twenty seven years old, but we feel
- 56:40Speaker 1: older than that because we did a lot of traveling
- 56:43Speaker 1: and having fun together before we settled down. I just
- 56:46Speaker 1: had our first child and I've been home nursing the baby.
- 56:50Speaker 1: My husband's thirty six year old cousin insisted on coming
- 56:53Speaker 1: to help us out with the baby because she's raised
- 56:56Speaker 1: five of her own children. She started having babies in
- 56:59Speaker 1: high school, and her kids are older now, so she's
- 57:02Speaker 1: free to do as she pleases. We gladly accepted her
- 57:06Speaker 1: to her help, and she has been with us for
- 57:09Speaker 1: three weeks. She is excellent with the baby and she
- 57:12Speaker 1: helps me tidy up around the house. But after that
- 57:15Speaker 1: she gets out in the streets. She goes out late
- 57:18Speaker 1: at night because that's when the clubs are jumping. According
- 57:23Speaker 1: to her, I'm not sure what clubs are open on weeknights,
- 57:26Speaker 1: but she has been hanging out from Wednesday to Sunday.
- 57:30Speaker 1: I've seen numerous hotel keys in a kitchen garbage can,
- 57:33Speaker 1: and I wonder why she's not trying to be a
- 57:35Speaker 1: little more discreet. I brought it up to my husband
- 57:38Speaker 1: the other night, and he was full of talk about
- 57:40Speaker 1: his cousin. He said he was too ashamed to admit
- 57:43Speaker 1: it to me, but his cousin is now and has
- 57:46Speaker 1: always been promiscuous, and he thought twice about having her
- 57:50Speaker 1: come to our home. He told me that she slept
- 57:53Speaker 1: with two of his friends since she's been with us.
- 57:56Speaker 1: It's only been three weeks, and both of his friends
- 57:58Speaker 1: are married. I refrain from judging her, but I don't
- 58:02Speaker 1: want her in our social circle breaking up happy homes.
- 58:06Speaker 1: How do I talk to a woman that's older than
- 58:08Speaker 1: I am about changing her ways and maybe getting therapy.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Something's got to be wrong here. Wow, that was a lot.
- 58:18Speaker 1: So this is what we have, all right? We have
- 58:21Speaker 1: a garden tool that breaks up families. Basically is what
- 58:26Speaker 1: your letter saying. She's breaking them up, sleeping with married men,
- 58:29Speaker 1: doing all that. But on the other hand, she takes
- 58:33Speaker 1: great care of your kids. Who thought this was a
- 58:37Speaker 1: great idea for her to come? Wait, a minute. You
- 58:39Speaker 1: said in your letter, we gladly accepted her help. She's
- 58:43Speaker 1: excellent with the baby. You also said she helped you
- 58:46Speaker 1: tidy tidy up around the house. You needed the help,
- 58:49Speaker 1: and we're glad to accept it. Was glad to accept
- 58:51Speaker 1: it from her. What you didn't know was about her
- 58:54Speaker 1: extracurricular activities, when she goes hits those streets at night
- 58:58Speaker 1: and hits the clubs. Your husband knew and didn't tell you.
- 59:02Speaker 1: He said he was too ashamed. And now people are
- 59:04Speaker 1: starting to talk, and her sexual shenanigans have hit pretty
- 59:07Speaker 1: close to home with his two friends she slept with,
- 59:11Speaker 1: And you're feeling guilty now by association and want to
- 59:13Speaker 1: say anything, but what say something to her? But what
- 59:16Speaker 1: can you say to her? I mean, she's been doing
- 59:18Speaker 1: this since high school. Yeah, it's a mess. But unless
- 59:22Speaker 1: you have someone on deck right now to help you
- 59:24Speaker 1: with the baby, and it doesn't seem like your cousin
- 59:29Speaker 1: is disrespecting your house, I say, continue your policy of
- 59:32Speaker 1: not judging her, but you've got to start looking for
- 59:34Speaker 1: someone else to help with the baby right away, because
- 59:37Speaker 1: she does need to go. If this is the case, Steve, Well,
- 59:41Speaker 1: let's see his cousin is spreading it around. Now we
- 59:45Speaker 1: know what the letter means, right, and what she's spreading
- 59:49Speaker 1: around ain't peanut butter, No it is, but she's spreading
- 59:54Speaker 1: it like it is. Peanut butter. And the life and
- 59:58Speaker 1: the circle of friends you all got is slice of bread,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: and it's all over the damn bread. That's how I
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: like my peanut butter, though I don't like none of
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: the bread showing when I make my stand because I
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: want every bite to have peanut butter on it. So
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: she's making sure that everybody get a bite got peanut
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: butter on it. Peynut, by the hell, get y'all peanuts here,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Peanuts for everybody. She spread and he nut butter around.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: We come back. It's very simply how I'm gonna do this.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna show you why. I'm gonna just show you why,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: and I don't want to say what because I don't
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: want to give away. When I come back, it'll all
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: be clear, all right. We'll have part two of Steve's
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: response coming up at twenty three minutes after the hour.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Today's strawberry letter subject is his cousin is spreading it around.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: We'll be back right after this you're listening show? All right,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter. The subject
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: is his cousin is spreading it around. Now, I'm gonna
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: walk you through this letter, and there's a lot of
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: at the beginning is all irrelevant information. Stephen Sherley, my husband,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I've been together since we were seventeen. We've been married
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: three years. Were both twenty seven years old, but we
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: feel older because at what we did a lot of traveling,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: having fun together before we settled down. All that's irrelevant information.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: We had our first child and I've been home nursing
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: the baby. Now we're getting to it. My husband's thirty
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: six year old cousin insisted on coming to help us
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: out with the baby because she has raised five of
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: her own thirty six with five. Now, let's get into
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: how she got the five, why she got the five,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: and why she's such a good babysit. She started having
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: babies in high school. Huh yeah, so she thirty six,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: you twenty seven. She just nine years older than you,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: But she started having babies in high school. The kids
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: are older now, so she's free to do as she pleases.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: When the king all five of them can't be that old.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: All five of them can't be eighteen. You had some
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: of these five kids out the high school, so this
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: is going to do what the hell you want to
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: do unless you've trained the other kids to be babysitters too,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I don't know, but we're working on it. We gratefully
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: accepted her help, and she's been with us for three weeks.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: She is excellent with the baby. Well, let's talk about that.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: If you got five, we got five. Now. She ought
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: to be good at babies by now. Fifth one puts
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: you in the expert category and she helps me tidy
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: up around the house. But after that she get out
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: in the streets. This is why she insisted on coming
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: to stay with y'all, because y'all stay in an area
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: that she liked to run in. She liked y'all's area
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: of the streets. That's why she go out late at night,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: because that's when the clubs are jumping. That's a true
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: statement according to her. I'm not sure what clubs are
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: open on weeknights. Girl. There's a lot of places open
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: on weeknights, a whole lot of places. But she's been
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: hanging out from Wednesday to Sunday. That's when they're on
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Thursday night and late at night Wednesday Happy Hour. And
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: then once you get once you leave happy hour, then
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: you go and experience the happy that the hour presented.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: See the hour provides the happiness. And then you're going.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: You don't want to blow these drinks on nothing, so
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: you take your little drunk and ass on hour. And
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I've seen numerous hotel keys in the garbage, in the
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: kitchen garbage. That's where she put them, because at the
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: happy hour you got to go and use these drinks.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I wonder why she's not trying to be a little
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: more discreet. They in the trash, They in the trash.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: Hard to be with the discreet with somebody looking through
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: the trash, that's you, because you throw it in my
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: kitchen trash and let's it's on the top, laying straight
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: out of them and I'm not gonna see it. All right,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: here we go. I brought it up to my husband
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: another night, and he was full of talk about his cousin.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: He said it was too ashamed to admit it to me.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: But his cousin is now and has always been promiscuous.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: We got five kids. Now, I've seen numerous hotel keys
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: in the kitchen. Garbage came. She got five kids. Now
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: gonna be some hotel keys in the tray. You know
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: what what you need to find in the trash, it's
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: some some condom rappers. It's what you need to find
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: in the trend. But we're not finding that in the trash.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: We find that hotel keys. Need to find some damn
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: rappers in the damn trash. It's what you need to find.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: But we're not my cousins and promiscuous. And he thought
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: twice about having her come to the house. He told
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: me that she's slept with two of his friends. Once again,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: that's how you get five kids, sleep with two more friends.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: She's been since she's been with us, and it's only
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: been three weeks. And so you can sleep with two
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: people in three weeks, that's how you get five kids,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: two people in three weeks. That ain't nothing. Ain't a
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: man don't he reading that? Going? What now you women
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: can tell about she slept with two people in three weeks.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: That's shocking to y'all. That ain't shocking to no man
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: reading this letter. I ref ain't from judging her the
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: whole letter. Judge and her she got five kids. This
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: letter was written in judgment. I don't want her in
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: our social circle breaking up happy home. Ain't nobody fitting
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: to tell this but you. How do I talk to
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: a woman that's older than me, she only nine years
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: older than you? How do I talk to her about
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: changing her ways and maybe getting therapy? Therapy? Look, Steve's
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: gotta be wrong, Hill. My bodyguard had a book that
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: didn't the name of the book. If you won't close
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: you in your relationship, start with your legs. That was
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: the name of a very famous book, If you won't

- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Some takeaways. Let's find out what's happening. Listen. Dak Prescott
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: for the Dallas Cowboys. He's trying to make his way
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: back for Week five against the n Yeah, Many and
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: Cooper rushing war through the row. It ain't the first
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: time black people have tried to come back and get
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: their job. I could you know, job, yo, you're gonna
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: do it. He gonna cut that thumb off and just
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: played with nine fingers. But the coming he's not losing
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: your job. I can't lose my job. Nobody named Cooper do.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: I'm Dad, I'm Dad. I can't. I can't lose my job.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: Nobody named Cooper. But slow down, Cowboy fans, you're not
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: saying super Bowl yet. They hauled the super Bowl. They
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: back on it. They back saying they go into the
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: super Bowl after three straight wins. Here. They ain't nobody
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: here about the Cowboy. I love that. I love the
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: players man Prime Time, all these boys friends man, all
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: the plass like all them dudes. I ain't met a Cowboys,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: ain't never like. I love Jerry Jones and his family boat.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I just don't the damn Dallas Cowboys. I just be going, man,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: what but just hatred goes all the way back when
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys was in the North League, the North
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: League was comprised with the Cleveland Browns. So I've hated
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: the Cowboys ever since then, and I just never I
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: just never stopped that. I don't like that star like
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: that a male because team Oh I can't stand all right,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: can can Junior finish? I just love the family J J.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Just as nice man. We'd be talking to him. We
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: see him on vacation on Junior clearly, no, no, no,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: But I like the other I like the player. Stephen A.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Spiff has a different problem. He can't stand. He got
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: it fans? All right? Finished? All right, here we go.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: The neural team doctor for the Dolphins has been fired
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: for the handling off the quarterback to before of the
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Dolphins of you know he has playing against the Bills.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: He had the concussion and then he you know, looked
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: like appear to be because he got up, failed back down.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Then four days later goes out and has another concussion
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: and they fired him. Now the question is do the
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: NFL need to change their policies and protocols when it
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: comes to keeping players safe, because you know, players don't
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: have a disability fun for them when they get hurt.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: So they got the play the mentality they have it
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: in place. That protocol is serious. It's in place. It
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: don't need to be revamped. The rule was in place
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: when he failed. The first time he stood up and failed.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: He should have never been shouldn't that went back in
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: the game. Howe you posted, well, appreciate your medical report,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: do sports. Next time it was the same thing. I'm
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: still mad at the Colborns. All right, hurt your hands.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Coming up. We'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Show right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, so Steve, we have a Facebook
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: person a question. Okay, I'm gonna do that, but first
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: I want to say to Junior what I've heard this
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: saying that hurt people? Hurt people? Yeah, yeah, I've noticed
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: that six six people discuss sickness. A damn sports report
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: filled with sicknesses that presscott fun to a got a
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: count cussion? You know, really people always talk about other
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: people's sicknesses. Do the damn sports and what is the same? No,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: that is courts going to start talking about six people?
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: You know? You know, Oh, here we go, you're that
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: oh not a two six people want to pile h
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: I see that happening now. I got to go get
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: six to get my teams. Okay, year ago out, we
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: are moving on because you're crazy, all right? TJ on
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Facebook wrote this to you. He says, hey, uncle Steve,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: I'm a grown man thirty years old, and things have
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: changed in the dating game. About two months ago, I
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: started dating a girl I met at a work function,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: and we've really hit it off. In fact, we've just
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: made the whole boyfriend slash girlfriend thing official. There's a downside, though,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Apparently being called my girlfriend also entitles her to a
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: key to my place, and I'm just not feeling that.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: And when I said that I wasn't comfortable with it,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: things turn into a what what are you hiding from me?
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I'm like, nothing, key? What do I do well? Just
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: because your boyfriend and girlfriend don't mean or you should
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: get a key? But let me say this right here.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: See once you leave college, yeah, girlfriend should not be
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: a term that you accept. I don't. I don't know
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: what term you should use, but that right there. Let
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: but that's not the question, my boo. What I don't
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: I don't do good terms. I'm trying to. I don't.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: I don't like it. Damn mean, I ain't got my girl,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: my woman, my baby. Okay, but my girlfriend, well see
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: girlfriend don't see the qualifications of girlfriends. Don't say key. Okay,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Well what says some circle? Yeah, bean says Keith. Okay,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: White says h. Pre engagement says key. You know promised
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: ring says key. Yeah, you know stuff they used to do,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: but not because we've been dating. You don't get no
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: key after two months. So first of all, I still
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: got to know you. I don't even really know you. Okay,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: So there's a ninety day rule for sex? According to you?
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Is there an if you're not in love with a person,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: a person should not have your kids? All right, let's
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: just start there. You don't give your house key to
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: a person you like and you feel it and you
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: having sex with because I can promise you that ain't
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: the only one. But she needed to keep for I'm
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: gonna let you in when you come over. I don't
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: think she needed to keep. And you're not committed. You're
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: just officially boardfriend and girlfriend, but you've not committed to
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: one another. Now, Ain't nobody said nothing about no love
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: and no future? You can get a key when we're
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: talking love and future. It's not what I'm hiding from you.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: It's what I'm keeping from me. Yeah, hello, okay, all right,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: you can't know everything about me yet, so what should
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: he do? That's what we're not We're not at that
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: level yet. You don't love me, you're not in love
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: with me. We're not talking about the future, and we
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: don't have a life play together. So until we get
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: to know each other better, I don't think a key
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: is doable. Now, that's what you hi from me. I

- 1:17:03Speaker 1: a circus, I knew a circus man. Man, you gotta
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: be kids, don't be a no dry ass man. Some
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: time to do some offello or being in August Wilson player.

- 1:18:04Speaker 1: loose and universal soul circle. They had that big ass
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: great Dane that puts stripes on it. Try to make
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: this men training as mass right here. I love the
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: damn circle. I wish the hell I would be in
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: the plate my ass in that circles, man speaking them
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: standing out there in them lime greens. I love. I
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: love ze damn that damn great Dan run vinyl and
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: rubbed that paint up. Get your soup now you know
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: it's a dog. I'm moving on to the damn tiger exactly. Man.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Seventeen Africans tied up in the ball. If you which
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: one got a head on it more, they'd be doing
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: all the counter all right? What you yeah? I think
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: it is? Would you rather be bald but fit, bald
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: but fit, or would you rather be overweight with a
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: full head of hair? Which one? Well, you're bald right now.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: I'm balding. I just said ball. I fit. I'm fit
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: for sixty five. But you know I ain't fit for
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: like heady or nothing like. I don't look like my
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: son's in the gym. But they ain't got no money either,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: So I take my head down to the bank. You
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: ain't got no hair. I put my bank statements on
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: my head didn't look hard in yes, would you rather
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: have bad body older or bad breath? That bad body
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: older because you can blame that on somebody else, but
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: bad breath that's your. You can get on the elevator,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: look around and act like it ain't you all right?
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Coming up in forty nine minutes after the hour, that
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: is today's right, it's our last break of the day,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: and we'll have some closing remarks right after this. You're
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: listening show, all right, guys, Here we are our last
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: break of the day on this Tuesday. It's been a
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: good day. Thanks once again to the fabulous, the brilliant
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: gubernatorial candidate for Georgia, Stacy Abrams, for being our special
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: guest today. Thank you so much. Listen. We cannot stress
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: enough the importance of voting in all elections, but this
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: one is critical. Listen to me. We have proven to
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: ourselves that our vote matters. We did it in the
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: last election for the first time. We turn a red
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: state blot all soft and Walnut got in because we
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: showed up at the polls. Donald Trump lost Georgia because
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: we showed up at the polls. He's still looking for
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: eleven thousand votes now. The way they're gonna get the
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: eleven thousand votes back this time is through voter suppression.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: So what they're gonna do now, you are, is they're
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: making it. Polling places have changed, they're requiring several forms
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: of identification. They're moving the goal post on pre and
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: early voter registration. So we have got to go to
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: when we all vote dot org, when we all vote
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: dot org now to make sure you are registered, you
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: are qualified, and everything is lined up. Because voter suppression
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: is real. They owned us. Now they're trying to win
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: the election that kind of way. I'm telling you, man.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: They've been looking for them eleven thousand votes that they
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: falsely claimed was stolen. They've been looking for them every
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: since he lost. They have found a way to get
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: them back. They've taken all boxes out of the hood.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: They've moved polling stations, they've moved they've changed stuff. Bro,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: They're doing everything they can. Nothing works when we show
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: up to vote them, and none of that will work.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: All we got to do is show up and vote
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: because we are tired of the minority trying to control
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: the majority. We are tired of kemping his policies. Who
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: are so anti against us, but they always trying to
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: push and we got to get out to vote too.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: For the Senate. We got to vote for the governor.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: We got to vote early. We got to do the
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: stuff that they that they that they're afraid of us
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: to do. Listen to me, Herschel Walker ass can't be
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: in the Senates line talk out here in the FBI,
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: out of the damn CIA. He's still in money that's
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: supposed to be going to the veterans. Put a gun
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: up to his wife's head. Man, If anybody do that,
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: any other black person do that, there have a fit.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: But they found a black that they can control and
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: a go along with day policy. Hard to fight against
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: gay rights when your family gay and that don't make
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: no sense to that, don't make no sense. We have
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: to vote. If y'all Texas, y'all, if you vote, y'all
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: got enough. Y'all got enough. If Houston and Dallas and
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: San Antonio show up and vote, y'all could turn it. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: but you got these other counties we struggle with, But
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: your Dallas got enough in it. Two Yeah, but you
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: got you got all these blacks and Latinos voting Republican,
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: like like like y'all really in with them? That should
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: be amazing, Like y'all asses in with this. And to
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: the white dude that rode in on the shoulder of
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: the day talking about you're just a racist, a black
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: perch can be look man, not conscious. Look if I
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: voted my pocket book, that be different. But I don't
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: vote my pocket book. I vote my people. I vote
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: for the masses. I vote for the people I grew
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: up with. I vote for people who made me. I
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: vote for people who watch and support me. I vote
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: for them. I'll be fine. Also, what you can save
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: a little bit more in taxed if you're raising taxes
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: for people as on the upper scale because four hundred
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: thousand and up though, ain't you that's not the majority.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: But I pay a little bit more taxed. If I
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: can keep everybody that's got to go to Walmart straight,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: I pay a little bit more taxes if everybody got
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: to go to Target is straight. Because what seem what
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: rich people got to stop acting like is the reason
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: you rich is because there are people who support what
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: you do. Walmart is rich because of the common man,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: rich cause of rich people. Rich people don't shop at Walmart.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Walmart is rich because of the common man. If the
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: common man can't go to Walmart, how do you stay rich? Well,
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: you know what they do. They close some stores and
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: they get rid of some jobs. Rich people are not.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: Rich people are not changing their bottom line. You know how.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: Rich people keep the same bottom line. They change all
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: the other lines. That's where your ass is at, you
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: on them other line. Rich people don't change their bottom line.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: Rich people change them other lines, so the bottom lines
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: stay the same. I've been to school for that. Okay,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: I'm in class right now on how they do. Just
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: telling you right now, so you know, I thank God
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: for being the way I am. During the pandemic, I
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: did not lay off or get rid of one single employee.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Marjorie and I made a conscious decision to keep people's
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: lives intact. And I wasn't at work. Yeah, I wasn't
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: on no TV show. But we kept every body in
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: place because we care about people, because people have to
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: be cared about. And then when they get on their feet,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: then dinner's back to business usual. That ain't how they're
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: doing down there. Man. It gets rid of your ass.
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: Your ass is gone now. Y'all trying to figure out
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: where you're gonna work at now. But one last thing
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: and I'm gone. Remember this, y'all. When the door closes,
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: God is in the blessing bid. All he wants you
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: to do is walk up the hall He got some modough.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: Q's standing at your dough beating on that ass for
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: it to open. It's closed, Walk up the hallway. He
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: got modos. I've learned to dedicate that to in DC.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: Thank you very much, ABC, GUNN and high to walk. Hey,
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: y'all have a great thing. Talk to God today. He
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: absolutely loved to hear from you. Pete. For all Steve
