- 2:40Speaker 1: Please Welcome back to money Making Conversation. One of the
- 2:42Speaker 1: stars up in the cut my man, Dorry Wilson's Hey,
- 2:48Speaker 1: what's up, man? How are you doing? I mean, I'm
- 2:50Speaker 1: doing fantastic door. I'm telling something. You know, I've always
- 2:52Speaker 1: been a fan way back when we first met Man
- 2:55Speaker 1: when he was over that was, you know, Steve Harvey
- 2:58Speaker 1: sitcom and came in, came in Man, just just touring up.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Man became Steve Harvey is a adversary to uh when
- 3:07Speaker 1: they were Caring Robertson. That's my girl right there. You know,
- 3:11Speaker 1: that's and that's that's relationships, man. That's that's relationships. That
- 3:15Speaker 1: there and that that's that's that's really your career because
- 3:18Speaker 1: the thing in this business, man, is you always want
- 3:20Speaker 1: to know what people say about you, think about you,
- 3:23Speaker 1: and what you do when you when they when they
- 3:24Speaker 1: give you the opportunity, and you you be very consistent
- 3:27Speaker 1: about that. Can you talk about that? I am so
- 3:31Speaker 1: blessed to have the longevity that I do have. I
- 3:34Speaker 1: don't know what it is, but like you said, it's
- 3:37Speaker 1: the relationships that that you you pave along the way.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I've always worked with incredible people that I admired, and
- 3:46Speaker 1: those relationships stick, you know, on down the road because
- 3:49Speaker 1: you never know, you know that that grip that uh
- 3:53Speaker 1: that you know, operator H might have the next big
- 3:57Speaker 1: movie or whatever. So you know, I attribute that and
- 4:02Speaker 1: God and uh, just trying to stay relevant and you're
- 4:06Speaker 1: relevant and you stay revelant and let's let's let's just
- 4:09Speaker 1: show why you're relevant cherished today. Okay, now it's like,
- 4:12Speaker 1: who are you talking about? You? I'll tell you a man.
- 4:17Speaker 1: You know. First of all, if anybody has not seen
- 4:19Speaker 1: The Love Story by Evan Duke May on their own
- 4:23Speaker 1: network for the Oprah Winfrey Network, um and um, oh
- 4:27Speaker 1: my god, you played the fall the figure and read
- 4:30Speaker 1: Alson plays the mother. You guys have two characters to
- 4:33Speaker 1: come in and just take over that episode emotionally. Um,
- 4:37Speaker 1: and you know it just talked about getting involved with
- 4:41Speaker 1: the show like that. That is a it's a time
- 4:43Speaker 1: piece from the standpoint she jumps most and years in
- 4:47Speaker 1: the relationship. And there's only eight episodes, but it is
- 4:50Speaker 1: the talk of the town as far as uh, television making, filmmaking,
- 4:57Speaker 1: television making. Nobody has done that for like that. But no,
- 5:01Speaker 1: if it has been done, it is never captured the
- 5:04Speaker 1: imagination of the viewing the audience like it has today.
- 5:07Speaker 1: You are honestly for African American. You know, it is
- 5:12Speaker 1: so dope to to be a part of this amazing production.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And I'm so glad that people get to see me
- 5:21Speaker 1: outside of my gendre, of my box that comedy. You
- 5:25Speaker 1: know that everybody knows me for to be able to
- 5:29Speaker 1: play this this interesting character. Um. This this father who
- 5:33Speaker 1: is you know, the head of the household, but he's
- 5:35Speaker 1: really not because the mother is yet once again relationships
- 5:41Speaker 1: and we go back way back to the Parkers as well.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And uh. And when they told me that she was cast,
- 5:47Speaker 1: I was like, is she getting ready to kill this?
- 5:50Speaker 1: But I had a great time. It's an all star cast. Um,
- 5:54Speaker 1: just just a wonderful vibe and and something really different,
- 5:58Speaker 1: like you were saying, uh, to see African Americans a
- 6:01Speaker 1: couple that are in love and you know the child
- 6:04Speaker 1: and tribulations that they go through, um, and it's carried
- 6:07Speaker 1: through years. Um, you know, and you have the legendary
- 6:11Speaker 1: sincily type. Yeah, I mean this exactly exactly so. But
- 6:21Speaker 1: but the character you play with such an important character
- 6:25Speaker 1: because you know it is kind of funny. And then
- 6:28Speaker 1: but that's even that stairwell and not giving. This series
- 6:31Speaker 1: was very dramatic, and it was like, that's what you're
- 6:34Speaker 1: talking about. Give you a chance to spread. You do
- 6:37Speaker 1: a little humor, but you come back and you're reel
- 6:39Speaker 1: and that's that's a that's a unique ability that we're
- 6:43Speaker 1: quite often to don't see that much because of the character. Right,
- 6:46Speaker 1: see you as a sitcom star, see if comedy, come
- 6:50Speaker 1: in and be funny and break up the moment. And
- 6:53Speaker 1: this shirt allows just series allows people to see you
- 6:56Speaker 1: from a very very uh enjoyable unenjoyable congratulations. Thank you
- 7:01Speaker 1: so much man, and allowed me to stretch my acting muscle,
- 7:06Speaker 1: if you will. But a lot of people don't know
- 7:08Speaker 1: I'm classically trained you to you know, yes, of course,
- 7:13Speaker 1: because you're with Steve used to clown mein valid all
- 7:18Speaker 1: the time. But yeah, I did all of Shakespeare and
- 7:24Speaker 1: dramatic stuff, slowdowns on the killing ground, um, you know,
- 7:27Speaker 1: just it's serious, deep pieces. And I graduated from um,
- 7:31Speaker 1: you know, doing this performing arts school, came to l
- 7:36Speaker 1: A and you know, right away I'm cast as a
- 7:39Speaker 1: funny sidekick on the show uh dream on um and
- 7:44Speaker 1: which I did for six years. And after that, I
- 7:46Speaker 1: was like totally pigeonholed. It's like, this is a funny guy.
- 7:50Speaker 1: He's a comic getting you know, but I have I
- 7:52Speaker 1: do have a range, and so absolutely, you know, I'm
- 7:54Speaker 1: so thankful they get in that show. And I was
- 7:57Speaker 1: thankful to see it because it just know, it's just
- 8:00Speaker 1: it's just fascinating to watch. I consider your friend in
- 8:03Speaker 1: the business. I could see you with somebody that if
- 8:06Speaker 1: I have an opportunity to cast a role, I want
- 8:09Speaker 1: to bring you in to make sure you get an
- 8:11Speaker 1: opportunity because you're professional and profession that here. Thank you,
- 8:18Speaker 1: my friend, Thank you. But you know, but I don't
- 8:21Speaker 1: want to just stuck on his chairs. Today is amazing.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But you have a TV one series stepping back and
- 8:25Speaker 1: step back to love. Stepping back to love, tell us
- 8:27Speaker 1: about that. Uh, once again, I got to play this
- 8:31Speaker 1: incredible role. I'm playing the father of the lead character,
- 8:37Speaker 1: um and uh Darren Henson, who is amazing in his
- 8:42Speaker 1: own right. He's a beautiful dancer. Uh. He has we
- 8:47Speaker 1: have this um love hate relationship with his father and
- 8:51Speaker 1: son that I bring out that I'm saying, you know,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I just want the best for my son. So I
- 8:57Speaker 1: pushed him, uh to to make him a better man.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And it doesn't come across that way to him at
- 9:04Speaker 1: all times, because it just seems it seems like I'm
- 9:08Speaker 1: you know, being a beast on him. But you know,
- 9:10Speaker 1: I know he's capable of you know, greater things in
- 9:14Speaker 1: my eye. UM. So um, you know, once again I
- 9:18Speaker 1: got to play this you get this incredible role, um,
- 9:21Speaker 1: opposite of him. But it was a beautiful project. Um
- 9:24Speaker 1: and they had a great time shooting it. And I'm
- 9:26Speaker 1: a fan of Darren. So Darren Henson, he's done a
- 9:29Speaker 1: lot of plays on the road. You've probably have seen
- 9:31Speaker 1: him in those. He's very good and amazing dance you
- 9:36Speaker 1: fools as well. But the thing about it is that
- 9:39Speaker 1: when because I've watched some cliffs from the series is
- 9:42Speaker 1: that when you're talking about like my father he was
- 9:44Speaker 1: passed away, our relationship was kind of like that. You know,
- 9:48Speaker 1: he had expectations for me, and I had expectations for myself,
- 9:51Speaker 1: and so and so in the series, it comes across
- 9:55Speaker 1: and which is a good storytelling by the way, where
- 9:57Speaker 1: he thinks he wants you to live the life that
- 10:00Speaker 1: you want him to live, and that creates the conflict
- 10:03Speaker 1: because you're just trying to get him to live the
- 10:05Speaker 1: best life that he can possible. And that's the that's
- 10:08Speaker 1: the basis of that storytelling for that particular series. Correct. Yes,
- 10:13Speaker 1: absolutely and uh and not to be outdone. My father
- 10:17Speaker 1: was the same way he pushed me. It was accepting
- 10:21Speaker 1: of everything that I do and always um is that
- 10:24Speaker 1: first person to be that that cheerleader, uh, you know,
- 10:28Speaker 1: to encourage me. But I believe me if it wasn't
- 10:33Speaker 1: for him, well my mother as well, UM, they wanted
- 10:37Speaker 1: me to be the best me um, And so you
- 10:39Speaker 1: know they laid that foundation with God and hard work,
- 10:43Speaker 1: uh and dedication. There's nothing that I couldn't do. And
- 10:46Speaker 1: so you know I realized that and that's what I
- 10:48Speaker 1: passed on to my kids as well and try to
- 10:51Speaker 1: encourage them as well. Well, what the next two days,
- 10:53Speaker 1: I'm about to bring up what excites me about what's
- 10:56Speaker 1: what's happening in Korea? You executive produce and not saying
- 10:59Speaker 1: you haven't done anything, but these projects that we're about
- 11:01Speaker 1: to talk about the next two projects. You are the
- 11:04Speaker 1: executive producer, one of the executive producer. The first project
- 11:07Speaker 1: we want to talk about is starring and the bt
- 11:09Speaker 1: S Network show called His, Hers and the Truth. First
- 11:12Speaker 1: of all, I love that title right there, He's Hers
- 11:15Speaker 1: and the Truth right there, I'm watching right there, So
- 11:18Speaker 1: I'm watching that. I'm watching that because you know, there's list,
- 11:21Speaker 1: there's a kind of and that's the truth. There's the
- 11:25Speaker 1: lis yeah right, that's the lines on the his side,
- 11:28Speaker 1: that's the lines on the hood side. What does the
- 11:31Speaker 1: truth lie? But but the funny part is it's it's
- 11:36Speaker 1: our truth as well. You know, we really believe that
- 11:38Speaker 1: we're telling the truth. This is our perspective, you know,
- 11:43Speaker 1: coming from us. But in lies somewhere in the middle,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and that's where the truth is. Though, So how do
- 11:49Speaker 1: you get involved and get the title of executive producer
- 11:53Speaker 1: for this particular show? Well, first, of all the first
- 11:57Speaker 1: and foremost, I have an amazing manager. Um managers management. Yeah,
- 12:05Speaker 1: you must be on the phone, and uh, believe me,
- 12:10Speaker 1: every project that he does or that the company does,
- 12:15Speaker 1: I'm involved with some way or another. I I'm actually
- 12:20Speaker 1: in the movie as well. Um. But I got to
- 12:23Speaker 1: really put a different hat on back and try to,
- 12:27Speaker 1: you know, make this project come to fuition. And Uh,
- 12:30Speaker 1: I'm having such a great time learning the business as well.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Now you know, I got to be behind in front
- 12:38Speaker 1: of the camera for many many years, but now to
- 12:41Speaker 1: be a part of the provision making. Yeah, man, it's
- 12:45Speaker 1: a it's a beautiful thing. And from these brothers. Absolutely,
- 12:48Speaker 1: it's really amazing that people you know, you know you
- 12:51Speaker 1: have you have an acting executive producer and you have
- 12:53Speaker 1: a working executive producer. You know, I'll be fortunate to
- 12:56Speaker 1: be a working executive producer. Which is at the cast,
- 13:00Speaker 1: it goes all aroun there can we pay that actress
- 13:03Speaker 1: or can we pay that actor? Or is that a
- 13:05Speaker 1: five and under? No? They have person as a stand
- 13:07Speaker 1: in that room and be silent. Can't get together and
- 13:09Speaker 1: they gotta act like they acted, but they can't say anything.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It comes down to that. It comes down to catering,
- 13:14Speaker 1: it comes down to set design. It really is all
- 13:17Speaker 1: the things that we don't see. But it's it's crazy,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you know, it's a it's a lot of work and
- 13:26Speaker 1: people don't realize that. How just ra Sean McDonald, you
- 13:29Speaker 1: listening to money making conversations on the phone is uh
- 13:31Speaker 1: Dorian Wilson Uh on one of the new series It's
- 13:34Speaker 1: all about transition, you know, bring comedic actor, dramatic roles.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Um just came off there the Fantastic Serious Chairs Today
- 13:43Speaker 1: TV one, stepping back to Love Now. He's executive producing
- 13:46Speaker 1: and starring in the BT Networks film called His Hers
- 13:49Speaker 1: and the Truth. Also he's in another He's also in another,
- 13:53Speaker 1: so he's prodecutive, executive producing and co starring in with
- 13:57Speaker 1: My Girls When You with Carol Robinson. But this rapper up, Yes,
- 14:00Speaker 1: Hers and the Truth, because we was just talking about
- 14:02Speaker 1: you know, in fact, I felt kind of good because
- 14:04Speaker 1: you were talking about all that work that we have
- 14:06Speaker 1: been doing behind the sidelines, behind the scenes. You didn't
- 14:10Speaker 1: know about catering and wardrobe and uh, you know that's
- 14:17Speaker 1: that's the fun part about why I love being behind
- 14:19Speaker 1: the camera, Well, I love being in front of the
- 14:22Speaker 1: camera because all the believe from all the stuff that
- 14:26Speaker 1: you guys do, but you know, to to really be
- 14:28Speaker 1: able to be a part of the decision making and uh,
- 14:32Speaker 1: the whole process of making a project come to fruition
- 14:37Speaker 1: is amazing and I'm learning that, um and I learned
- 14:40Speaker 1: back from uh, you know, being an executive producer on
- 14:43Speaker 1: the film, his hers and the truth working with incredible
- 14:47Speaker 1: brothers that have done this for many many years. This
- 14:50Speaker 1: is uh their seventh movie together and so for them
- 14:54Speaker 1: to bring me apart be a part of this is
- 14:58Speaker 1: uh amazing to me because I'm learning as I'm doing, um,
- 15:02Speaker 1: you know, and I can bring um the acting side
- 15:06Speaker 1: to it as well. Uh. One of the reasons why
- 15:10Speaker 1: Wendy Rachelle Robinson is the lead actress to the movie.
- 15:14Speaker 1: That's one of my best friends and you know how
- 15:17Speaker 1: far we'll go back. Um. Yeah, so I brought her
- 15:20Speaker 1: to the table. Um. Uh. Angie Stone plays my sister
- 15:26Speaker 1: on My My show in the cut, and she's doing
- 15:30Speaker 1: the soundtrack for the movie as well well, along with
- 15:34Speaker 1: Little Mama. UM. So you know, to be able to
- 15:37Speaker 1: bring those types of of people to the project, it
- 15:42Speaker 1: just enhances it. And you know, I feel amazing that
- 15:46Speaker 1: I'm a part of that. It's finally here, the season
- 15:49Speaker 1: of celebration. And no matter how you celebrate with family
- 15:52Speaker 1: and friends, whether you're preparing for yus Mago's or Karamu

- 17:45Speaker 1: the heart, correct, Okay? Now? Now another name that I
- 17:50Speaker 1: gotta mention is my board Clifton Pole, not Clifton Pole.
- 17:52Speaker 1: And you y'all care, y'all, y'all care the same amount
- 17:55Speaker 1: of love in my heart as far as longevity in
- 17:58Speaker 1: the business, and Cliff is a little he's opposed from
- 18:01Speaker 1: you because you're you. You cut your key, your teeth
- 18:05Speaker 1: and in comedy and now he's transition over to more
- 18:09Speaker 1: lighthearted opportunities. He cut his teeth in drama, right and
- 18:14Speaker 1: now he's transcentiontion over there, you know what I'm saying.
- 18:16Speaker 1: So it's really interesting watching you guys becoming like that's
- 18:19Speaker 1: so much shifts in the night, but showing you how
- 18:22Speaker 1: you have to adjust your career in order to the the
- 18:24Speaker 1: last in this business. Yes, yes, yeah, cl that's that's
- 18:29Speaker 1: my boy right there. And what you see is what
- 18:32Speaker 1: you get that that's a true brother in this industry
- 18:35Speaker 1: who has paid the way for a lot of brothers.
- 18:38Speaker 1: But we worked together way back um with a movie
- 18:42Speaker 1: that I did called um A Weekend with the Family
- 18:45Speaker 1: and uh we're directed and written by Christope. I saw that.
- 18:50Speaker 1: I saw that. I saw that. I saw you know,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I saw that one the crazy fact of the Asian Mama,
- 18:55Speaker 1: the Asian Mama. I'm telling you, I'll tell you, Dory,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I don't miss your TV brother. I'm a fan of
- 19:07Speaker 1: yours brother. I saw that that was all my boy,
- 19:09Speaker 1: because my boy from our immature was in that movie
- 19:12Speaker 1: to exactly exactly. But yes, Christop directed and wrote that
- 19:17Speaker 1: along with Marcus Houston. Um and we had a great time.
- 19:21Speaker 1: But Clinton and Wendy brought the fundy funny as always.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Um and I played opposite of them. Uh kind of
- 19:31Speaker 1: businessman who you know his son. Uh it wasn't good
- 19:35Speaker 1: enough for my daughter. And they're gonna get married right right.
- 19:39Speaker 1: That that was a great, very fun It's on Netflix
- 19:42Speaker 1: if you want to watch his own Netflix. It's a
- 19:44Speaker 1: great watch doing these times, especially if you want to
- 19:46Speaker 1: get some some good lighthearted spirit and some good fun.
- 19:50Speaker 1: And and and that that that that that Cliff Pall
- 19:53Speaker 1: he's over the top. And there too, he's over the top.
- 19:55Speaker 1: He's over the top. Yeah. Yeah, that's the beautiful part
- 19:59Speaker 1: about these relationships. Let's let's get back to the series
- 20:02Speaker 1: that that that's on Wednesdays an a pm Eastern. It's
- 20:05Speaker 1: gonna bounce TV network. It's called in the cut and
- 20:08Speaker 1: I gotta I'll be remiss if I don't mention my
- 20:10Speaker 1: boy Bentley Evans, who created the show Man. Uh you
- 20:15Speaker 1: know when I say why, he's special to me. Brought
- 20:18Speaker 1: me up to the Jamie FOXX Show as a co
- 20:19Speaker 1: executive producer. One of the major moves in my life
- 20:22Speaker 1: in this business because you gotta have people help with
- 20:24Speaker 1: as an African American guy. And and so let's talk
- 20:28Speaker 1: you've been on the show before talking about in the
- 20:30Speaker 1: cut updated because you mentioned and Stone and Just Stone,
- 20:33Speaker 1: who's crazy by the way, in real life and on
- 20:35Speaker 1: this TV show. You know if you don't know and
- 20:38Speaker 1: Stone and Stone crazy, Okay, a good crazy though. That's
- 20:45Speaker 1: my girl. Yeah, she placed my sister on the show. Um.
- 20:48Speaker 1: But let let me go back to to Bethley. Um.
- 20:52Speaker 1: That is another one of those relationships that that you know,
- 20:55Speaker 1: you you don't have those type of relationships in this
- 20:59Speaker 1: business that often they come far and few between. Bentley
- 21:03Speaker 1: is that dude who is groundbreaking for one and he
- 21:06Speaker 1: never forgets somebody and you are a part of that
- 21:10Speaker 1: that that family, that niche. But I worked with him
- 21:13Speaker 1: many many years ago on Martin and everybody that is
- 21:16Speaker 1: associated with our show has worked with him in the past.
- 21:21Speaker 1: That and some capacity or another. Um, but it's a
- 21:25Speaker 1: beautiful niche. Kalidakalida Smith plays my my wife on the show.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And many of you guys know Khalida from the Bernie
- 21:34Speaker 1: Max Show. She played the wife on the Bernie Max Show.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Um and John Marshall Jones, he was the father on
- 21:40Speaker 1: A Smart Guy. Um, and he plays my side in
- 21:44Speaker 1: the barbershop. And uh. Rounding out the cast is Ken Lawson,
- 21:49Speaker 1: who my comferend from the Parkers. You know, so we
- 21:53Speaker 1: go that far back and that's my dude right there.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I have worked with him for almost twenty iv years
- 22:01Speaker 1: and I have never seen this cat come in mad, angry,
- 22:05Speaker 1: upset or what have you. Um, you know, always a
- 22:08Speaker 1: good vibe and or you know, just um and and
- 22:12Speaker 1: if he does, we don't know it. Let's put it,
- 22:15Speaker 1: you know, same going guy delivers the line to professional
- 22:22Speaker 1: and uh, I got I gotta, I gotta bring up
- 22:25Speaker 1: Lara Hayes now lay Miss Laura is hilarious on the
- 22:30Speaker 1: show that that's my girl right there, but she kind
- 22:34Speaker 1: of grounds everybody and just this is the stuff that
- 22:38Speaker 1: you don't see from Laura on the show is some
- 22:41Speaker 1: of the funniest. But anyway, Um, so it's a great cat.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Also Dorian Rnand who plays uh Kalita's sidekick in her
- 22:55Speaker 1: beauty salon. But it's a wonderful cast. Everybody has been
- 22:58Speaker 1: in the business for I'm teen years and so we
- 23:02Speaker 1: have to, um have that foundation we've all worked together
- 23:07Speaker 1: before because we do thirteen episodes in eleven days. Thirteen
- 23:12Speaker 1: episodes in the eleven days. Yeah, it is. It is
- 23:15Speaker 1: a killing is it long? Are the days where we
- 23:18Speaker 1: have well week to shoot an happened you know, you
- 23:21Speaker 1: know in front of yea yeah, yeah, they in front
- 23:25Speaker 1: of the audience, audience, whatnot. No, we're cranking this out.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I have anywhere from ten to uh seventeen scenes a day, um,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and it's you know, it's long hours. But we already
- 23:37Speaker 1: have that foundation, um, and everybody's professional, so we're we're
- 23:42Speaker 1: able to you know, crank it out and get it done.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Anything enables me to do a lot of other things, um,
- 23:48Speaker 1: you know for the rest of the year. We just
- 23:51Speaker 1: finished our seventh season. Awesome. Awesome, then some of the
- 23:54Speaker 1: guests get your girl Loneo coming on the show this year.
- 23:58Speaker 1: If anybody saw Dolomite is my main is my name?
- 24:01Speaker 1: My god? Just a little Neil is one of those
- 24:04Speaker 1: The fact that you have a little nail and lrd
- 24:06Speaker 1: Hayes on the set at the same time. It had
- 24:09Speaker 1: to be Yeah, it's crazy you have to separate them
- 24:13Speaker 1: and like a little kid, but just a comedy. I mean,
- 24:17Speaker 1: they threw out the script basically with it, you know.
- 24:22Speaker 1: And that's why let's let's just back up and tell
- 24:25Speaker 1: people a little bit of history about Ben Levins. Bi
- 24:27Speaker 1: Levins created the Mardern Show, so he's used to working
- 24:30Speaker 1: with a star who improvs. He created the Jamie Foxx Show,
- 24:35Speaker 1: so he's used to working with another star who improv
- 24:37Speaker 1: so when he and comedians, so he's used to working
- 24:40Speaker 1: in an environment of trusting these individuals. So when so
- 24:45Speaker 1: when Dorian says, you know, they all scripted, they throughout
- 24:48Speaker 1: the script, that's a good thing because he's allowing them
- 24:50Speaker 1: to do their things and bring the best funny possible
- 24:53Speaker 1: and trusting the ability to pull it off. That's awesome.
- 24:55Speaker 1: That's awesome. That's what I said. He he knows all
- 24:58Speaker 1: of us. We have a incredible writers who write for
- 25:03Speaker 1: us as uh people, um, not just actors, um, you know,
- 25:07Speaker 1: our characters or whatever. But they know what dorian strengths
- 25:11Speaker 1: are and so they'll incorporate that in the script. So
- 25:14Speaker 1: what we try to do is get what they put
- 25:17Speaker 1: on paper first and then because this opportunity, the Just
- 25:23Speaker 1: and seven and you know some of that stuff is
- 25:27Speaker 1: the funny stuff. Awesome. Now I didn't got my girl
- 25:30Speaker 1: Yo yo from kak Mirka and Love and Hip Hop
- 25:33Speaker 1: Hollywood on the show. Uh you know, just just just
- 25:38Speaker 1: this is this is really a wonderful story we're telling about. Uh,
- 25:43Speaker 1: you know, people working together. Because throughout our whole interview
- 25:46Speaker 1: we just talked about relationships. We talked about longevity. We're
- 25:49Speaker 1: talking about transitional talent. Uh not you know, understanding that, hey,
- 25:54Speaker 1: I will not be pigeonholed just to be an actor.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I want to learn behind the scenes, even though there's
- 25:58Speaker 1: more work involved than going behind on the scenes. But
- 26:01Speaker 1: in the end, it's always good when you own a
- 26:03Speaker 1: set at this stage, now knowing exactly what's going on
- 26:06Speaker 1: behind the set, isn't it doing Yeah? Almost definitely. Uh.
- 26:10Speaker 1: You know, it's so important to learn all parts of
- 26:13Speaker 1: the craft. Um So you have the longevity, you know,
- 26:16Speaker 1: I I did the acting thing for many many years.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I want to write directed as well. Um so you know,
- 26:24Speaker 1: um so I can keep on staying in this business
- 26:28Speaker 1: because you know, being for real, they you know, there
- 26:31Speaker 1: are far a few um parts for African American that
- 26:35Speaker 1: you know for certain, um, you know in your genre,
- 26:39Speaker 1: your your age group, your your ethnicity. UM, that's why,
- 26:44Speaker 1: that's why whenever I see you, so whenever I see
- 26:46Speaker 1: your TV on the film during I'm watching, because I'm
- 26:49Speaker 1: I'm giving you all my Nielsen opportunities, all my Netflix views,
- 26:54Speaker 1: anything that's anything that's on live, and I'm post you
- 27:00Speaker 1: on my social media, you know, because that's how you
- 27:03Speaker 1: know that that you know the thing about it is
- 27:05Speaker 1: that I love you as a person, I love I
- 27:08Speaker 1: respect you as an individual, and and and to bring
- 27:12Speaker 1: you on this show as part of my process, you know,
- 27:14Speaker 1: just just giving more opportunities to to just create make
- 27:17Speaker 1: you relevant, to make you relevant. Your brand has has
- 27:20Speaker 1: has as endless. Uh. You know, if we went back
- 27:23Speaker 1: and show what you did on the Parkers, you'll be funny.
- 27:26Speaker 1: If we went back and saw what you did on
- 27:27Speaker 1: the Steve Harvard sitcom, you'll be funny. If you want
- 27:30Speaker 1: to go to the Netflix movies, we just will talking
- 27:31Speaker 1: about He's gonna be funny. If you want to go
- 27:33Speaker 1: to the the Chair to Day and go Roshaun one line
- 27:36Speaker 1: when he came on the screen gentry calling the gentry right,
- 27:43Speaker 1: all right, I'm not, but you're not gonna do it.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Come on my show story and act like I'm gonna
- 27:48Speaker 1: fake this interview. I'm not gonna fake this interview. He's
- 27:52Speaker 1: a star, He's a friend. Bouss TV. The seventh season
