- 0:10Speaker 1: Decision that's going to be best for you and not
- 0:14Speaker 1: what somebody told you to do.
- 0:15Speaker 2: And that's when all bets are off.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Welcome to Money Making Conversation Masterclass. I'm your host with
- 0:20Speaker 1: Sean McDonald. Our theme is there's no perfect time to
- 0:24Speaker 1: start following your dreams. I recognize that we all have
- 0:27Speaker 1: different definitions of success.
- 0:28Speaker 2: For you and maybe decide to.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Your HM, it's time to stop reading other people's success
- 0:33Speaker 1: stories to start living your own.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Keep winning well.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Welcome back to Money Making Conversation. I am your host
- 0:44Speaker 1: with Sean McDonald. I always see this all the time.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I tell people to stop reading other people's success stories
- 0:50Speaker 1: and start writing your own.
- 0:52Speaker 2: That's important.
- 0:52Speaker 1: When I tell it's about motivation and I don't know
- 0:55Speaker 1: if I can motivate people to understand how valuable they are.
- 0:58Speaker 1: And when I say that is that I get up
- 1:00Speaker 1: every day at four thirty am, a lot of.
- 1:02Speaker 2: People go ooh.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I mean even when I say that time, the average
- 1:05Speaker 1: person who every day, well, that's part of my plan.
- 1:09Speaker 1: So if you have a plan, because I have to
- 1:11Speaker 1: get up at that time, because if I get up
- 1:13Speaker 1: at six, then I realized that at four to thirty
- 1:15Speaker 1: I get up, I kind of stumble around the house.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I pick up a newspaper. Nobody's bothering you.
- 1:20Speaker 1: At four thirty in the morning, I watch a TV
- 1:22Speaker 1: show I want to watch. I can just make some
- 1:25Speaker 1: food that I want to eat. So set your time
- 1:28Speaker 1: to make you win. And so my next cast is
- 1:30Speaker 1: a guy that, first of all, the energy is beautiful.
- 1:33Speaker 1: If you still have questions about banking, about financial he's
- 1:36Speaker 1: a financial motivator, but I love the reason I love.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Let me introduce him right quick again.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Our call number is four zero four eight eight zero
- 1:45Speaker 1: nine two five five. That's four zero four eight eight
- 1:48Speaker 1: zero ninety two five five. The next guest is Ash Cash.
- 1:53Speaker 1: He's one of the nation's top financial educators, personal finance expert,
- 1:57Speaker 1: business coach, motivational speaker, for fifteen year banking executive, and
- 2:02Speaker 1: the author of many books, including four Amazon dot Com bestsellers.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I ain't even read one book we got, okay, I know,
- 2:09Speaker 1: I know, I know. He has been featured on many
- 2:11Speaker 1: media outlets as The CNN, The New York Times, Wall
- 2:14Speaker 1: Street Journal, America Bankers, CNBC, TheStreet, dot Com, Black Enterprise,
- 2:19Speaker 1: Essen Magazine, and Ebony. He is dubbed as the financial Motivator.
- 2:23Speaker 1: He used a culturally responsive approach and teaching financial literacy,
- 2:27Speaker 1: wealth building, and entrepreneurship above all. His credentials, accleades, and
- 2:31Speaker 1: titles actually simply known for helping people maximize their full potential.
- 2:36Speaker 1: That's what we deal here. Please work with the money
- 2:38Speaker 1: making conversations.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Ash Cash, Hey, brother, thank you for having me look
- 2:42Speaker 3: at that for it. Man, I'm so excited because I'm
- 2:47Speaker 3: in the presence of a legend. Then I got there
- 2:49Speaker 3: here a legend on the far man. It's a beautiful day.
- 2:53Speaker 3: It's a beautiful day.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Well, as you.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Know, our relationship has been unique because we've seen each
- 2:58Speaker 1: other from Afar, yes, and then we met each other.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We fell in love like bruh, absolutely, and then the
- 3:03Speaker 1: whole approach was tied to your whole world is about
- 3:05Speaker 1: helping people. But the thing I like about you, because
- 3:08Speaker 1: the reason I brought you on the show with George
- 3:11Speaker 1: Georgie Fraser, Doctor George Fraser, is that he's a technical guy.
- 3:14Speaker 1: So sometimes you can get lost in his technical, technical
- 3:17Speaker 1: style of teaching. Well, you are a common systence no,
- 3:21Speaker 1: no negative of doctor GEORGEI Frasier. But you break it down,
- 3:24Speaker 1: it's such a common natural way that doesn't throw fear
- 3:29Speaker 1: into people.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah, talk about that.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it's funny because you mentioned I was
- 3:33Speaker 3: a fifteen year banking executive. So first and foremost I
- 3:36Speaker 3: grew up in projects, right, And so growing up in
- 3:39Speaker 3: the projects, really didn't have money hustler you know, you know,
- 3:43Speaker 3: packing bags at a doing selling mix stats and T shirts.
- 3:46Speaker 2: So I know that entrepreneur life.
- 3:48Speaker 3: But I was fortunate to get into banking, and I
- 3:50Speaker 3: started at nineteen years old and did everything in banking
- 3:53Speaker 3: from personal bank or private banker, branch manager see over
- 3:56Speaker 3: credit Union, right. And when I realized when I was
- 3:59Speaker 3: a private bank, I was managing money for wealthy individuals
- 4:02Speaker 3: and they had a team. But then I thought about
- 4:04Speaker 3: my people back at home, and I said, we don't
- 4:06Speaker 3: even got one person teaching about money. So I said,
- 4:09Speaker 3: you know, in the words of the honorable Sean called
- 4:11Speaker 3: a jay Z, there's much bigger issues in the world.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I know, But I first had to take care of
- 4:16Speaker 2: the world.
- 4:17Speaker 3: I know, and So for me, I said, listen, if
- 4:19Speaker 3: I'm a guy who's from the neighborhood, I understand hip hop,
- 4:23Speaker 3: I understand the language. I understand you know what we
- 4:26Speaker 3: need from our community. And you know I was able
- 4:29Speaker 3: to make it to the c suite and from a
- 4:31Speaker 3: banking perspective, what if I just took that knowledge and
- 4:34Speaker 3: I brought it back to our people and as they say,
- 4:37Speaker 3: put the medicine in the candy, right, and so that
- 4:39Speaker 3: and and that's been my life, like that is my life.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Mission is exactly what doctor.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Fraser was saying was really you know, you know, closing
- 4:48Speaker 3: that wealth gap specifically for our people, because we have,
- 4:52Speaker 3: you know, everything that we need to live the best
- 4:54Speaker 3: possible life. We just need the education and we need
- 4:57Speaker 3: we need that education in a way that we can
- 5:00Speaker 3: understand it. And then once we understand it, then there's
- 5:03Speaker 3: no excuse while we're not implementing it.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Cool.
- 5:05Speaker 1: We have a call here Chantale and Marietta, Georgia. You
- 5:09Speaker 1: have a question about investment. Please welcome to the show.
- 5:11Speaker 1: You on the airline with me, not right now, I'm
- 5:13Speaker 1: an interviewing Ash Cash and of course I'm ru Sean McDonald.
- 5:16Speaker 1: What'd you have to say, chantel, what's your question?
- 5:18Speaker 4: How you guys doing the season. I'm curious. I've been
- 5:24Speaker 4: listening for you all a couple of days now to
- 5:26Speaker 4: hear about young people getting educated and taking a chance
- 5:29Speaker 4: and investing. I'm curious. I've been doing like I have
- 5:33Speaker 4: a ninety five work for a government, but the passive
- 5:36Speaker 4: income in between just trying to find my niche I
- 5:39Speaker 4: keep doing.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Like these.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Quick little schemes. I guess so maybe door dasher, instacart
- 5:46Speaker 4: or trying to make just that income in between instead
- 5:49Speaker 4: of check to check my next endeavor. I'm curious about
- 5:52Speaker 4: taking a chance with investment for ATM and if you
- 5:55Speaker 4: think it's profitable, I am in the Marietta outside Atlanta
- 6:00Speaker 4: area and not just have the goal for one After
- 6:03Speaker 4: the next minute, grow.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Let me, let me, let me, let me cut you
- 6:07Speaker 2: off a little bit right quick, because you said a
- 6:09Speaker 2: word that I ever want you to use when you're
- 6:11Speaker 2: talking about your investment, the words scheme. Yes, yeah, see
- 6:16Speaker 2: when that came out, I'm gonna let ask cash talk.
- 6:18Speaker 1: But we're in the same way. You got you got,
- 6:20Speaker 1: she said, scheme. I said, I've.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Never used the word scheme playing in my financial future.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I'm afraid that somebody go with the logo come in
- 6:28Speaker 2: through the back door, in the front door.
- 6:29Speaker 4: I repra.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I don't do that. Hustle thought, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's
- 6:35Speaker 2: not better either. That's not better either.
- 6:38Speaker 5: You know.
- 6:38Speaker 3: The the here's the here's the thing is that you know,
- 6:43Speaker 3: focus on what you really want to focus on, and
- 6:47Speaker 3: not necessarily the money aspect of it, right, because like
- 6:51Speaker 3: you said, you have the nine to five, right, and
- 6:54Speaker 3: then now you're trying to find another way to create
- 6:57Speaker 3: passive income. I have been in that same spot before,
- 7:01Speaker 3: and I have been in your spot where I was
- 7:02Speaker 3: trying different things with my in and this and and that.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And the thing that happened was I said, you know what,
- 7:07Speaker 3: forget the money, right, meaning that if I'm only chasing money,
- 7:12Speaker 3: then I am wasting my time because money's.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Gonna come and go.
- 7:15Speaker 3: You're gonna realize that money's gonna come and go. But
- 7:17Speaker 3: if you chase after something that you are aligned with,
- 7:22Speaker 3: not hustling, right, not a scheme, but I want you
- 7:24Speaker 3: to be aligned with what you're doing.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:26Speaker 2: So I'll give you an example. So for me, I said, hey,
- 7:29Speaker 2: I want.
- 7:29Speaker 3: To educate people, but me educating people, I said, how
- 7:33Speaker 3: am I gonna pay I got married, I got two kids.
- 7:36Speaker 3: How am I gonna pay the bills by just educating?
- 7:39Speaker 2: But my passion. I was going to inner city schools.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I was teaching financial literacy, and I said, how can
- 7:45Speaker 3: I turn my passion into a business, right, not a
- 7:48Speaker 3: side hustle, not a scheme, but actual business? And then
- 7:52Speaker 3: I said, oh, let me write a book. Then I said,
- 7:54Speaker 3: let me go, you know, go to schools in and
- 7:56Speaker 3: become a speaker. Let me go correct, right, And I
- 7:58Speaker 3: think that that's what you need to find out first
- 8:00Speaker 3: and foremost is what are you passionate about?
- 8:04Speaker 2: And does that passion feel a need? And how can
- 8:07Speaker 2: you feel that need?
- 8:08Speaker 3: Once you do that and you start making money, then
- 8:11Speaker 3: let's start talking about how we could take that money,
- 8:14Speaker 3: like doctor Fraser said, and start investing it in different
- 8:17Speaker 3: vehicles so that money could grow. But first, but if
- 8:20Speaker 3: you but if you're after the money first, I personally wouldn't.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Say to do that.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I would say, find that passion, find how you that
- 8:27Speaker 3: passion could feel a need, and once you have that
- 8:30Speaker 3: need filled that you start making money from it. Now
- 8:32Speaker 3: take some of that money and start investing in other places.
- 8:35Speaker 2: So it could grow and I'm just follow this up chantail.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Money is interesting.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Money is really interesting because it makes people make bad
- 8:43Speaker 1: decision and good decisions. Okay, the bad decision is that
- 8:46Speaker 1: if you invest something that you can't lose, and a
- 8:50Speaker 1: lot of people don't understand that.
- 8:51Speaker 2: See, you can invest if you.
- 8:52Speaker 1: If your time is valuable, which it should be, people
- 8:55Speaker 1: invest it, but they'll understand that investment that you can lose,
- 8:58Speaker 1: you can't get time back.
- 8:59Speaker 2: And so when you.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Put it out there, and so people understand that money
- 9:03Speaker 1: is the same thing. And so I run the opportunity
- 9:07Speaker 1: to route too. I will tell people all the time,
- 9:09Speaker 1: I said, when I go into the grocery store, my
- 9:11Speaker 1: goal has always been I just buy what I want.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I technically don't even look at the price. Now I
- 9:18Speaker 1: do shop with coupons. If I have some coupons, I
- 9:20Speaker 1: go in there make sure if I got two eggs
- 9:23Speaker 1: or seventy five cents off of of milk or I
- 9:25Speaker 1: will do that.
- 9:26Speaker 2: That's when I'm looking for a price. But technically I'm
- 9:28Speaker 2: just going in there.
- 9:29Speaker 1: But I'm also a guy who will take advantage of
- 9:31Speaker 1: an opportunity. And I'm just telling you, is that just
- 9:34Speaker 1: reframe your thought process. Don't use words like hustle, don't
- 9:38Speaker 1: use words like scheme, because you need to articulate your
- 9:41Speaker 1: conversation to people who appreciate the value of a plan.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And right now, just put your plan in action. Realize
- 9:47Speaker 1: your time is an investment, and then you should outline
- 9:51Speaker 1: your time with a schedule, and that schedule has to
- 9:54Speaker 1: be consistent. And when it's consistent, like I said earlier,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I get up at four thirty every day.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Monday through Friday. That's my winning time.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Your winny time might be five thirty, your windy time
- 10:02Speaker 1: might be six thirty. But what your winning time can
- 10:05Speaker 1: be four thirty on Tuesday, six o'clock on Wednesday, seven
- 10:08Speaker 1: o'clock on Thursday, three o'clock on Friday. Your body and
- 10:12Speaker 1: your mind be whack. And so so I just want
- 10:14Speaker 1: you to understand that. Thank you for calling the show today,
- 10:17Speaker 1: and but call back and be a friend of the show,
- 10:20Speaker 1: because what we want to do here is elevate your
- 10:22Speaker 1: thought process to know that you can win by getting
- 10:26Speaker 1: information off on show, money making conversation, and you can
- 10:29Speaker 1: win by listening to Wcoka.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Is that all right, Chantell?
- 10:32Speaker 4: Most definitely, I guess I want to say to be
- 10:35Speaker 4: able to put back into my four one. My dad
- 10:37Speaker 4: had to break it down. I was cooeless and didn't
- 10:39Speaker 4: know that investing into your four one is not only
- 10:43Speaker 4: coming out of a paycheck. I thought. I didn't know
- 10:45Speaker 4: that it could just come out of your pocket and
- 10:47Speaker 4: be put back into investing in retiring. I was new
- 10:50Speaker 4: to that, Like, oh really, I didn't. I wasn't just
- 10:53Speaker 4: made away, you know, you don't learn these things in
- 10:54Speaker 4: high school. And all my passion is to have the
- 10:56Speaker 4: business and to have different entities under it. That'll be
- 11:00Speaker 4: my my my, and to help out others, you know,
- 11:03Speaker 4: where I can maybe we can split and go on
- 11:05Speaker 4: to the next ATM or the next endeavor I want
- 11:08Speaker 4: to give back as well, or you know, kind of
- 11:11Speaker 4: put somebody onto you know, the business as well, so
- 11:14Speaker 4: they're they're able to make pass income.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:17Speaker 3: And the one the one thing I would say, chantel
- 11:19Speaker 3: is really about the research, you know, because you know,
- 11:23Speaker 3: whatever you focus on, there's somebody right now who's making
- 11:27Speaker 3: millions of dollars by by selling plastic pins, right and
- 11:31Speaker 3: so it's really what you focus on, and so understanding
- 11:34Speaker 3: what it's going to take to to invest in the
- 11:36Speaker 3: ATM business. Uh, you know what time you have to
- 11:38Speaker 3: dedicate to it, and then also you know what the
- 11:41Speaker 3: returns are and if you're willing to do what it
- 11:44Speaker 3: takes or are you going to have to hire someone?
- 11:46Speaker 3: So really, as Rashaun mentioned, it's really the plan and
- 11:49Speaker 3: making sure you have the plan first. And then once
- 11:51Speaker 3: you have the plan, and and once the plan is
- 11:54Speaker 3: sound and it's viable, I would say execute.
- 11:56Speaker 1: And then and then you execute with the whole idea
- 12:01Speaker 1: that you cannot lose. But if you lose, don't let
- 12:03Speaker 1: it traumatize you. Because I have lost. I have lost,
- 12:07Speaker 1: and I tell people all the time. That's why we're
- 12:09Speaker 1: trying to share my flaws when I talk to people,
- 12:11Speaker 1: because if you look at a person who always says
- 12:13Speaker 1: he's successful all the time, he's lying. And if you
- 12:16Speaker 1: look at the person who don't want to share their flaws,
- 12:18Speaker 1: stop talking to him. And I want to thank you
- 12:20Speaker 1: Chantelle for calling the show money Making Conversations.
- 12:23Speaker 6: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 12:25Speaker 6: Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making
- 12:32Speaker 6: Conversations Masterclass hosted by Rashaan McDonald. Money Making Conversations Masterclass
- 12:37Speaker 6: continues online at Moneymakingconversations dot com and follow money Making
- 12:42Speaker 6: Conversations Masterclass on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I got people talking saying to my number for me
- 12:49Speaker 1: saying my name money Making Conversations doctor Georgey phrase he
- 12:53Speaker 1: blew it up. Information is available on money Making Conversation
- 12:57Speaker 1: dot com about him money Making Conversation dot Com. Information
- 13:01Speaker 1: the available body him if you if you go to
- 13:04Speaker 1: the contact area and feel that out, we will definitely
- 13:06Speaker 1: send the information over to him.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Like you said then, he said seven decades, he said
- 13:11Speaker 2: eight eight decades. He said, seventy seven, eight decades, eight decades. Well,
- 13:16Speaker 2: knowledge and wisdom. Well, you know we're not eight decades. Yeah,
- 13:19Speaker 2: not yet, but we want to get there.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But my ass cast, you know, like I was saying earlier,
- 13:23Speaker 1: you know, you're one of the nationest top financial educators,
- 13:26Speaker 1: personal finance expert, business coach, and motivational speakers. And that
- 13:31Speaker 1: whole motivational speaking part is what I want to get
- 13:33Speaker 1: into right now because so many people want to hear
- 13:36Speaker 1: the word like in church now they want to hear
- 13:39Speaker 1: the Bible. So many people want to hear how to
- 13:41Speaker 1: be successful, but don't want to put the work in
- 13:44Speaker 1: or follow the rules of the Bible. It's the same
- 13:46Speaker 1: thing in the financial world that you in.
- 13:48Speaker 2: You people come.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Up with you, take photos with you, say, man, how
- 13:51Speaker 1: can I want to give you the business card? What
- 13:54Speaker 1: frustrates you most when people don't do what you're advising
- 13:58Speaker 1: to do because you can't tell them what you advise.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think I think the most frustrating part
- 14:03Speaker 3: is uh, just people complaining, you know, uh, because because
- 14:07Speaker 3: here's the deal, because uh, we all have a choice,
- 14:10Speaker 3: right Uh. Being broke is difficult, being successful is difficult.
- 14:17Speaker 2: You just gotta choose the difficult that you want.
- 14:20Speaker 3: And so if you choose the difficult, that says, hey,
- 14:22Speaker 3: I'm gonna be broke, I'm not gonna know how to
- 14:24Speaker 3: you know, take care of my family.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna worry about how to make ends
- 14:28Speaker 2: meet and things of that nature.
- 14:30Speaker 3: And there's somebody who's taking time to show you, you know,
- 14:33Speaker 3: how to you know, how to do that, how to
- 14:35Speaker 3: get to the next level of life, and just to
- 14:38Speaker 3: you know, be somebody who is taking up that knowledge
- 14:41Speaker 3: and not implementing. I think that's the most frustrating part
- 14:44Speaker 3: because there's a lot of people out there that want
- 14:47Speaker 3: the information, who would love to have somebody give them
- 14:51Speaker 3: the information. And so if you are, you know, you know,
- 14:54Speaker 3: wasting time, you're you're in the you're in the way
- 14:57Speaker 3: of somebody else who is willing to implement. So other
- 15:00Speaker 3: than that, I think that's the frustrating part. But the
- 15:02Speaker 3: truth of the matter too is I also know that
- 15:05Speaker 3: it doesn't happen overnight, right, right, And so I know
- 15:08Speaker 3: that there are people who, you know, what we're saying
- 15:12Speaker 3: is shaking up their mindset, right, Like doctor Fraze just says,
- 15:16Speaker 3: don't waste.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Your time on savings.
- 15:18Speaker 6: Right.
- 15:18Speaker 3: He didn't say that verbatim, but he's saying, listen, you
- 15:21Speaker 3: are wasting your time on you know, if you're saving
- 15:24Speaker 3: your month for percent, right, half a percent, right, so
- 15:26Speaker 3: it's not even one percent, it's half of eight percent, right.
- 15:30Speaker 3: And so as a former fifteen year big and executive,
- 15:33Speaker 3: I approve that message. But you gotta think, right, you
- 15:36Speaker 3: gotta think in our neighborhood that like, like that's what
- 15:39Speaker 3: they told us, they said, to go to work, work hard,
- 15:42Speaker 3: save your money. But if you save your money, you're
- 15:44Speaker 3: losing money. And I think that, you know, it's a
- 15:46Speaker 3: whole big paradigm shift that's happening. And so I get it.
- 15:50Speaker 3: We're shaking up people's world.
- 15:51Speaker 2: That's all they knew.
- 15:52Speaker 3: They grandmothers and parents are telling them save, save, save, safe, save,
- 15:57Speaker 3: And now the paradigm is invest invest in. That's and
- 16:00Speaker 3: so people might not get it on the first time.
- 16:03Speaker 3: And so for me, I'm happy that the conversations are happy,
- 16:07Speaker 3: the money making conversations are happening. Uh and and and
- 16:10Speaker 3: I know eventually we got we just gotta make it.
- 16:12Speaker 3: We gotta keep having a conversation until it becomes cool.
- 16:14Speaker 2: It like what Chanteraira was talking about the four one k.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah, your your employer pays some, she pays some, take
- 16:20Speaker 1: it out of your check fifty dollars a month. It
- 16:22Speaker 1: adds up in a big way. I got Eric from Shamblee.
- 16:25Speaker 1: He has a banking with a basic investment conversation.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Question. Eric from Shamblee.
- 16:30Speaker 1: You're on the call with Shan McDonald and financial guru
- 16:34Speaker 1: and a motivator, mister Ashcash.
- 16:37Speaker 2: What's your question?
- 16:38Speaker 7: Okay, Well, I mean I'm an artist and I also
- 16:45Speaker 7: want to try to work on licensing my art and promoted.
- 16:48Speaker 7: But that's my passion to make money. But I know
- 16:54Speaker 7: all the things that you're talking about, I don't know
- 16:57Speaker 7: anything about. I can't I don't know a pic of it,
- 17:01Speaker 7: you know, to say, Okay, I'm gonna add water and
- 17:04Speaker 7: sugar and I just start making a money take yep.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, So Eric, thank you, thank you for that.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, now for sure, and thank you for that vulnerability.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:14Speaker 3: What I would say is this, I would say, make
- 17:17Speaker 3: sure that you have a financial plan.
- 17:19Speaker 2: And what does that mean.
- 17:21Speaker 3: You know, when you get paid, whatever you do, whether
- 17:24Speaker 3: you still have a nine to five, whether it's your art,
- 17:26Speaker 3: whenever you get paid, what I want you to do
- 17:29Speaker 3: is put a certain amount aside, right, And so whether
- 17:32Speaker 3: it's thirty percent, ten percent, find out.
- 17:36Speaker 2: An amount that you're comfortable with. Put that aside.
- 17:39Speaker 3: And the first thing you're gonna do is you're gonna
- 17:41Speaker 3: you're gonna start building what I like to call your
- 17:43Speaker 3: financial freedom fund. And what that means is start to
- 17:47Speaker 3: build up an account that's six to eight months of expenses.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:50Speaker 3: And so so we're not saying savings accounts are bad.
- 17:54Speaker 3: We're saying that actually good because they can save you,
- 17:57Speaker 3: you know, in case of an emergency. So start building
- 17:59Speaker 3: a financial freedom fund. But then also what you need
- 18:02Speaker 3: to start doing is is after or while you're building
- 18:05Speaker 3: that financial freedom fund. The truth of the matter is
- 18:08Speaker 3: that no one's gonna become financially free if they don't invest,
- 18:12Speaker 3: if they don't change their relationship with money. Because right now,
- 18:15Speaker 3: our relationship is that we're gonna work hard for money.
- 18:18Speaker 3: But the true relationship should be money should work hard
- 18:21Speaker 3: for you. And the only way that happens is if
- 18:23Speaker 3: you invest right. And so as you're building your financial
- 18:26Speaker 3: freedom fund, start to put money aside that you're gonna
- 18:29Speaker 3: start investing. And the good thing about doing it every
- 18:33Speaker 3: time you get paid is that you're not just taking
- 18:35Speaker 3: a lump sum.
- 18:36Speaker 2: You're doing what's called dollar cost averaging.
- 18:39Speaker 3: So whether you're investing in crypto, if you're investing in
- 18:41Speaker 3: the stock market, whatever you're investing in, you're actually doing
- 18:44Speaker 3: it on a periodic basis. And as you do it
- 18:47Speaker 3: on that periodic basic it's actually gonna grow for you.
- 18:50Speaker 3: But the number one thing before you invest a dollar
- 18:54Speaker 3: is to understand, you know, to have the information, the
- 18:59Speaker 3: knowledge on how to invest. And so there are tons
- 19:01Speaker 3: of podcasts out there, there's a lot of you know,
- 19:06Speaker 3: financial shows, out there. There are free resources on YouTube
- 19:10Speaker 3: that can actually teach you the basics of how to
- 19:13Speaker 3: get into it. I would start there and then and
- 19:16Speaker 3: and and then you start to build, you know, build
- 19:18Speaker 3: from there. Absolutely. I was just want to say.
- 19:20Speaker 2: This on my nd rate.
- 19:22Speaker 8: Now I've got I've got a little bit of money
- 19:25Speaker 8: right sitting in the drawer doing nothing.
- 19:28Speaker 2: I hope it's not really sitting in the drawer. It's
- 19:30Speaker 2: not really in a drawer, is It's not really in
- 19:32Speaker 2: the drawer? Okay? Cool? We really need to talk.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Offline and don't let nobody at track this phone either
- 19:38Speaker 1: because I'm done. I don't need to be on Channel
- 19:40Speaker 1: five tonight because somebody didn't sixty nine on my number.
- 19:44Speaker 8: You said it's doing you know what I'm saying. This
- 19:47Speaker 8: money is just doing nothing. I mean it's only like
- 19:50Speaker 8: fifteen hundred dollars, but it's doing nothing.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Right, But that's money though they could be stuff. Did
- 19:54Speaker 2: you not hear? What? What just take three hundred dollars
- 19:57Speaker 2: to go to cryptocurrency?
- 19:59Speaker 1: I just want to give this advice to you and
- 20:01Speaker 1: everybody because we want to go to some more callers
- 20:03Speaker 1: and thank everybody for calling in on the show, and
- 20:05Speaker 1: especially thank you, because you're being honest about yourself, and
- 20:08Speaker 1: the only way you can move ahead is being honest
- 20:10Speaker 1: about your situation. What always drives me is about people
- 20:15Speaker 1: who go to church they tied. We see, God teaches
- 20:18Speaker 1: you how to save. He gives you the discipline to save,
- 20:21Speaker 1: but you do it for the church, but don't do
- 20:23Speaker 1: it for yourself. So you take that same discipline. So
- 20:25Speaker 1: when I tell people who in the church put a
- 20:27Speaker 1: little money inside, they look at me like, I ain't
- 20:29Speaker 1: got no money, but you got money for church though.
- 20:31Speaker 1: So I'm telling you take that same principle, that same
- 20:34Speaker 1: discipline that you have for church, and apply to yourself,
- 20:38Speaker 1: and you'll win twice the God blessing and the personal blessing.
- 20:42Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying.
- 20:43Speaker 1: And so if you take advantage of that knowledge that
- 20:45Speaker 1: we're trying to give you, and what you want to
- 20:47Speaker 1: win with is that.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I value your call.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I value your knowledge, But the discipline is what most
- 20:52Speaker 1: people make a mistake on. And I just wanted to
- 20:54Speaker 1: do a shout out to the people who go to
- 20:56Speaker 1: church to the people who do tie. Those are the
- 20:58Speaker 1: same people. And you know, we'll tell you. I don't
- 21:01Speaker 1: know how I'm gonna do that. I don't know how
- 21:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna pull together twenty dollars a week when you
- 21:06Speaker 1: give it twenty dollars to the church every week, and
- 21:08Speaker 1: that's forty dollars. All I'm saying is fifty dollars a month,
- 21:11Speaker 1: So you can get to that fifty dollars. And so
- 21:13Speaker 1: all I've ever said, and all Ash Cash is always saying,
- 21:16Speaker 1: is common sense. That's why I love this brother. He
- 21:19Speaker 1: talks from a commonsense perspective. Now we have Donald and
- 21:22Speaker 1: Conyer's he's a disabled veteran. How you doing and thank
- 21:25Speaker 1: you for serving our country? How you doing?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Donald?
- 21:28Speaker 5: I'm good, I'm good.
- 21:29Speaker 7: Are you I'm really good?
- 21:31Speaker 1: You're on the call with Ash Cash, and of course
- 21:33Speaker 1: i'm Rasean mcdonne's what's your what's your question?
- 21:36Speaker 5: Yes? I was asking, as a veteran on a income,
- 21:41Speaker 5: how would I get into the game. I'm unemployable, so
- 21:44Speaker 5: I'm not able to work. I just get faced income
- 21:47Speaker 5: every month. So how would I be able to get
- 21:50Speaker 5: into that and not injure myself financially to take care
- 21:54Speaker 5: of my other financial obligation.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Yeah, now that's a great question, and thank you for
- 21:58Speaker 3: your service. So what I what I would say is
- 22:02Speaker 3: similar to what I was telling mister Eric was really
- 22:05Speaker 3: you know, really about you know.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Taking money from the side, right.
- 22:09Speaker 3: And what happens is though when you are on a
- 22:11Speaker 3: fixed income, there's only two two ways, right, that you
- 22:14Speaker 3: could or three ways to increase your bottom line. You
- 22:16Speaker 3: either decrease expenses, increase your income, or do both things.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Right.
- 22:22Speaker 3: And so if you're on a fixed income, what I
- 22:24Speaker 3: would say is the first thing is to look at
- 22:26Speaker 3: your expenses and see, you know, what ways that you
- 22:29Speaker 3: could cut back some right, what ways can you use
- 22:33Speaker 3: I said, I said, what ways that you could cut
- 22:36Speaker 3: back on expenses? Because as you're as you're cutting back
- 22:41Speaker 3: on expenses, you now make you know, make way for
- 22:44Speaker 3: some income and then you use that income.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Because what happens is this, once.
- 22:48Speaker 3: You cut back, and even if you're cutting back on expenses,
- 22:50Speaker 3: it doesn't have to be permanently. It could be temporarily.
- 22:53Speaker 3: So that way you can gain you know, some money
- 22:56Speaker 3: to invest. And while you're investing and making your money
- 22:59Speaker 3: work for you, and that money starts to grow. Now
- 23:02Speaker 3: you're building money that you have access to that you
- 23:05Speaker 3: could either put back into the investment and let it
- 23:08Speaker 3: keep growing. Or if you wanted to supplement that that
- 23:11Speaker 3: expense you can. But so so I would say start
- 23:13Speaker 3: with decreasing your expense. See what you know, what things
- 23:17Speaker 3: you're spending money on that could potentially be decreased, and
- 23:21Speaker 3: then you know, start to look into investing money.
- 23:24Speaker 1: And I'm gonna add this to you, a lot of
- 23:25Speaker 1: people don't realize that sometimes you don't try to invest
- 23:28Speaker 1: by yourself. Get a group of people together and start
- 23:31Speaker 1: educating yourself.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Four or five people. If you got fifty dollars.
- 23:33Speaker 1: That means five of y'all have two hundred and fifty
- 23:35Speaker 1: dollars that can be invested as a group. Now you're
- 23:38Speaker 1: not you're investing two hundred fifty dollars, So you're not
- 23:40Speaker 1: investing in your two hundred and fifty dollars.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Plus you have.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Other people doing research for you also invest in their
- 23:46Speaker 1: time because they're fifty dollars means something to you. So
- 23:49Speaker 1: I would say take the advice and ask gave you.
- 23:51Speaker 1: But also if you have some people start, don't get
- 23:54Speaker 1: in the game quick. There's no rush. What bothers me
- 23:57Speaker 1: about people that get a certain age, they feel like
- 24:00Speaker 1: I gotta hurry up and get there. No I don't
- 24:02Speaker 1: care if you sixty seventy eighty, take your time. If
- 24:05Speaker 1: you rush life right, life will in for you because
- 24:08Speaker 1: you're in a hurry. I am not in a hurry
- 24:10Speaker 1: to do nothing. I drive slow, I eat faster.
- 24:13Speaker 2: You eat faster because I come from a big family,
- 24:15Speaker 2: six sisters, two brothers. You come from a big family.
- 24:17Speaker 2: You learn to eat fast. Brother. But I tell you this,
- 24:21Speaker 2: You're a blessing in this conversation because you're the typical
- 24:25Speaker 2: person who comes in who says I don't have enough.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Will you do if you have friends, if you have
- 24:30Speaker 1: relatives who are willing to sign a contract, don't ever
- 24:33Speaker 1: just give somebody your money? Oh everybody. I find my brother, fied,
- 24:38Speaker 1: my sister. I find a lot of relatives because I
- 24:40Speaker 1: went down that route, thought they loved me, and then
- 24:42Speaker 1: they didn't want to show up for work. So I
- 24:43Speaker 1: know what you have to do to get people committed.
- 24:46Speaker 1: But all I want to do is thank you for
- 24:47Speaker 1: calling on the show. We'll be back next week. But again,
- 24:49Speaker 1: this is.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Money making conversations live.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I appreciate you, man, because of the fact that WCLK
- 24:54Speaker 1: is giving me a live opportunity to talk about this
- 24:57Speaker 1: opportunity to give you information and have an ass care
- 25:00Speaker 1: on the show and the and the Dean the Guru,
- 25:03Speaker 1: you know, doctor George Fraser on the shows. Me that's
- 25:05Speaker 1: all the blessing, thank you and we'll be here next week.
