Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Government Shutdown Fallout Reveals SNAP Welfare Fraud & Dem Party Infighting
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: There may be some good that actually came out of
- 0:04Speaker 1: the government shut down supplemental nutrition assistance program known as
- 0:10Speaker 1: food stamps to everyday Americans, but we change the name
- 0:13Speaker 1: to make it more PC and call it SNAP. Benefits
- 0:17Speaker 1: are now being exposed for being rife with massive amounts
- 0:21Speaker 1: of fraud and abuse. How do we know this. The
- 0:25Speaker 1: Agricultural Secretary Brook Rowins is now telling the world what
- 0:29Speaker 1: they've found. Rowins discussed the SNAP data the US Department
- 0:33Speaker 1: of Agriculture received from twenty nine states, mostly red states.
- 0:39Speaker 1: The Secretary said that one hundred and eighty six thousand
- 0:42Speaker 1: deceased men and women and children in this country are
- 0:46Speaker 1: receiving a check. Let me say that again, one hundred
- 0:51Speaker 1: and eighty seven thousand dead men and women and children
- 0:57Speaker 1: in this country are receiving foods stamps. Now, that is
- 1:02Speaker 1: what we're really going to start clamping down on, she
- 1:05Speaker 1: went on to say. Rowins also said a half a
- 1:08Speaker 1: million people are receiving two SNAP payments. But here's the
- 1:15Speaker 1: really stunning thing. This is just data from those twenty
- 1:19Speaker 1: nine mostly red states, meaning there's even more fraud and
- 1:24Speaker 1: abuse in liberal states. I want you to hear more
- 1:28Speaker 1: of what she had to say as she talked to
- 1:31Speaker 1: Laura Ingram on Fox News Channel.
- 1:34Speaker 2: The abuses, the fraud, it's estimated to be twelve billion dollars.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Seattle police just broke up a food stamp fraud ring,
- 1:42Speaker 2: busting eighteen people. They say, we're buying and selling EBT cards.
- 1:47Speaker 2: That's become all the rage, some even trading them for drugs,
- 1:51Speaker 2: food stamps for fentanyl. Lovely and earlier this year, six
- 1:54Speaker 2: people were charged in a scheme that totaled sixty six
- 1:59Speaker 2: million dollars for food stamped bribery, one of the largest
- 2:03Speaker 2: in US history. And I asked President Trump about this
- 2:06Speaker 2: ongoing problem. Can we reform snap? Yeah, the people you
- 2:11Speaker 2: really need them.
- 2:12Speaker 3: It's meant for people.
- 2:13Speaker 4: And you know what it does is it really puts
- 2:15Speaker 4: the comfort in the country a jeopardy.
- 2:17Speaker 3: People that need it have to get it. I'm all
- 2:20Speaker 3: for it.
- 2:20Speaker 4: But people that are able bodied can do a job,
- 2:23Speaker 4: they leave their job because they figure they can pick
- 2:25Speaker 4: this up it's easier.
- 2:26Speaker 3: That's not the purpose of.
- 2:28Speaker 2: It here to discuss Agriculture Secretary brook Rollins, Madam Secretary,
- 2:32Speaker 2: great to see you tonight. So we know the administration
- 2:36Speaker 2: is trying to bust a lot of these groups involved
- 2:40Speaker 2: in this abuse, but how do we stop this before
- 2:45Speaker 2: it starts so they can't even get as far as
- 2:48Speaker 2: they get in these schemes.
- 2:49Speaker 5: It's overwhelming, it's pretty remarkable. And let me level set
- 2:53Speaker 5: us for just a minute. It is so great to
- 2:54Speaker 5: be on and talk about this, and it's funny. I think, oh, well,
- 2:57Speaker 5: funny's probably not the right word, but I do think
- 2:58Speaker 5: what the Democrats did not, including their calculation and their
- 3:02Speaker 5: insane government shutdown, was the fact that this spotlight was
- 3:05Speaker 5: going to be shined upon one of their favorite government
- 3:09Speaker 5: welfare programs that under Joe Biden increased forty percent, where
- 3:14Speaker 5: all that money went trying to buy elections. We're not
- 3:16Speaker 5: one hundred percent sure, but we're rolling it back now.
- 3:19Speaker 5: On day one, back in February, for me, we sent
- 3:22Speaker 5: a letter to every governor saying, send us your snap data.
- 3:25Speaker 5: All of this money that the federal government, the taxpayers
- 3:28Speaker 5: are paying for food stamps, we don't even know where
- 3:31Speaker 5: it goes, what happens, what they're doing with it. And
- 3:34Speaker 5: we said no more. So twenty nine states complied and
- 3:37Speaker 5: twenty other twenty plus others did not, and we're suing.
- 3:40Speaker 5: We're in a litigation right now. But of the twenty
- 3:42Speaker 5: nine that complied, what we have found is staggering half
- 3:46Speaker 5: a million people getting benefits two times under the same name,
- 3:51Speaker 5: five thousand dead people, eighty percent of the able bodied Americans,
- 3:56Speaker 5: meaning they can work, they don't have small children at home,
- 3:58Speaker 5: they're not taking care of an elbe really parent. They
- 4:01Speaker 5: can work, and they choose not to work, of course,
- 4:03Speaker 5: because they're getting significant benefits from the taxpayer. So this
- 4:07Speaker 5: light Laura that has now been shined on what is
- 4:10Speaker 5: perhaps one of the most corrupt, dysfunctional programs in American history.
- 4:15Speaker 5: That we are working now, very big announcements coming next
- 4:18Speaker 5: week on this. We are cracking down. We now have
- 4:20Speaker 5: a plan to fix it, and we're really really excited
- 4:24Speaker 5: about doing that for the American people.
- 4:26Speaker 2: So this has been going on for many years. I mean,
- 4:29Speaker 2: I think I covered this on the radio fifteen years ago,
- 4:33Speaker 2: but recently one woman admitted on national television this was
- 4:38Speaker 2: back a couple of years ago.
- 4:39Speaker 6: Watch its Wings was buying stamps and buying what buying
- 4:45Speaker 6: food stamps.
- 4:46Speaker 3: She was buying food stamps from whom from everybody me
- 4:51Speaker 3: including I buy food, I give them away. I'm just
- 4:54Speaker 3: a person that helps everybody.
- 4:56Speaker 2: This is routine.
- 4:57Speaker 7: People.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Just one woman last week I was watching on YouTube
- 5:01Speaker 2: said well, I get twenty five hundred dollars and I
- 5:04Speaker 2: sell eighteen hundred dollars of those food stamps. I use
- 5:07Speaker 2: the rest for me.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 5:10Speaker 5: It's staggering and so discouraging. You know, if you're a
- 5:13Speaker 5: taxpayer and you're working hard every day and you're paying
- 5:16Speaker 5: your taxpayer, you're paying your taxes, and then you look
- 5:19Speaker 5: and you see these stories of this fraud of people
- 5:23Speaker 5: charging more than once that we found one guy in
- 5:25Speaker 5: six states who was collecting in six different states under
- 5:29Speaker 5: the same number. But again, if we hadn't asked for
- 5:31Speaker 5: this data. And by the way, Laura, these are the
- 5:33Speaker 5: red states that turn their data over. It is the
- 5:36Speaker 5: blue states we're still trying to get data on. Can
- 5:38Speaker 5: you imagine if this fraud is happening in the red states,
- 5:41Speaker 5: what's happening in the blue sport stay hiding, We're hiding again.
- 5:45Speaker 5: I think they're buying their votes. They're trying to push
- 5:48Speaker 5: as much of our taxpayer dollars into certain segments of
- 5:51Speaker 5: the society in order to say, hey, we're here to
- 5:53Speaker 5: help you. We're going to give you a lot of
- 5:54Speaker 5: free stuff depends so vote for us and it's dependency.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Under President Trump, more jobs, better jobs, the economy is growing,
- 6:02Speaker 5: We've got better take home pay for the first time
- 6:04Speaker 5: in at least four years. Maybe more costs are coming down,
- 6:08Speaker 5: and now it's time to get serious about these government
- 6:10Speaker 5: programs move people from welfare to work and fundamentally change
- 6:14Speaker 5: the trajectory of this country.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yet again, another government program that is filled with this
- 6:20Speaker 1: level of corruption. The Agriculture Secretary warning that taxpayer dollars
- 6:26Speaker 1: are being wasted at a level that you can't even imagine,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and the numbers are getting worse as they're going through
- 6:34Speaker 1: the data. What this means is there is a system
- 6:38Speaker 1: that is broken. Democrats want to protect this system, and
- 6:42Speaker 1: they want to protect the abusers of the system because this,
- 6:46Speaker 1: they believe, is giving them some sort of political power.
- 6:50Speaker 1: They are in essence, buying votes. Having Americans dependent on
- 6:55Speaker 1: them for their food stamps gives them power, gives them stability,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and gives them election victories. This is not about actually
- 7:06Speaker 1: pulling people out of poverty. You notice, that's what this
- 7:10Speaker 1: is actually all about. And it brings me back to
- 7:13Speaker 1: twenty sixteen when Democrats were infuriated by what Donald Trump
- 7:20Speaker 1: was doing. Donald Trump was empowering African American men, women,
- 7:26Speaker 1: Native Americans, Asian Americans, and Latino Americans to get out
- 7:32Speaker 1: of poverty. Donald Trump saw the world differently, and he said,
- 7:36Speaker 1: I don't want you living in poverty and the government.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Paying your bills. I want you to live out of.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Poverty and be empowered to take care of yourself and
- 7:44Speaker 1: to thrive. And that is exactly what happened. Donald Trump
- 7:48Speaker 1: oversaw the lowest unemployment rate in history among African American men, women,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and Hispanics in this country, also Asian Americans and Native Americans,
- 8:00Speaker 1: which goes back to the big question why are Democrats
- 8:04Speaker 1: so hell bent on protecting a corrupt system? It is
- 8:09Speaker 1: simple that system is designed for one purpose, for the
- 8:14Speaker 1: Democrats to count votes, to buy votes, to bribe people
- 8:20Speaker 1: into supporting them and convincing people that they cannot make
- 8:25Speaker 1: it without the Democratic Party. It's an abusive relationship. And
- 8:31Speaker 1: now we're saying, just how much of our tax dollars
- 8:34Speaker 1: we're going to keep this system alive to buy those
- 8:39Speaker 1: votes of Americans. They are being left behind on purpose
- 8:44Speaker 1: by the Democratic Party. Every so often, something happens that
- 8:48Speaker 1: reminds us just how fragile our freedoms are. We can't
- 8:51Speaker 1: afford to take our rights for granted. We must draw
- 8:54Speaker 1: a line in the sand, and our friends at Patriot
- 8:57Speaker 1: Mobile have been doing just that for more than twelve years.
- 9:01Speaker 1: The truth is there is only one provider that boldly
- 9:05Speaker 1: stands in the gap for Americans who believe freedom is
- 9:08Speaker 1: worth fighting for, and that company is Patriot Mobile. Not
- 9:12Speaker 1: only are they leading the red economy, they're also outpacing
- 9:15Speaker 1: the competition and technology. Patriot Mobile is one of the
- 9:20Speaker 1: only carriers offering premium access to all three major US networks,
- 9:25Speaker 1: giving you nationwide coverage and service that you can count
- 9:29Speaker 1: on day after day. They also offer unlimited data plans,
- 9:33Speaker 1: mobile hotspots, international roaming, internet backup in so much more,
- 9:38Speaker 1: and switching has never been easier. You can activate in
- 9:41Speaker 1: minutes on your phone from your home or your office,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and you keep your same number. You've got now keep
- 9:47Speaker 1: your same phone, or upgrade to a new one. And
- 9:50Speaker 1: this is where the magic happens. Every month, about five
- 9:53Speaker 1: percent of your bill is given back to conservative causes
- 9:57Speaker 1: at no extra cost to you that stand up for
- 9:59Speaker 1: a ersten our second Amendment rights, the rights of unborn children,
- 10:03Speaker 1: and are wounded warriors and those that have fought for
- 10:07Speaker 1: our country and wear a badge. So take a stand
- 10:10Speaker 1: today and make a difference with every call you make.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Patriot mobile dot.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Com slash ferguson or nine seven to two Patriot. Use
- 10:20Speaker 1: the promo code ferguson for a free month of service
- 10:23Speaker 1: as well. That's Patriotmobile dot com slash ferguson or nine
- 10:28Speaker 1: seven to two Patriot. And make the switch and make
- 10:31Speaker 1: a difference with every call you make. There is a
- 10:34Speaker 1: new bombshell report out an audit from the Transportation Secretary
- 10:39Speaker 1: Sean Duffy revealing that California alone, under the direction of
- 10:45Speaker 1: the radical governor Gavin Newsom, illegally issued thousands of commercial Drivers'
- 10:52Speaker 1: licenses CDLs to dangerous foreign truck drivers, many of them
- 10:58Speaker 1: that cannot speak English and do not know how to
- 11:01Speaker 1: identify basic signs on our roadways. Duffy said the CDLs
- 11:08Speaker 1: are now being revoked. This week, Duffy's Department of Transportation
- 11:14Speaker 1: announced to the California Department of Motor Vehicles admitted to
- 11:18Speaker 1: illegally issuing seventeen thousand CDLs to foreign truck drivers who
- 11:27Speaker 1: Department of Transportation officials said are dangerous and unqualified to
- 11:32Speaker 1: drive the semi trucks. After weeks of claiming they did
- 11:36Speaker 1: nothing wrong, Gavin Newsom and California have been caught red handed,
- 11:40Speaker 1: Duffy said in his statement. Now the national media is
- 11:44Speaker 1: not covering this story, they are covering it locally in California.
- 11:50Speaker 1: NBCLA putting this report out explaining that a lot of
- 11:56Speaker 1: California commercial driver's licenses are being revoked.
- 12:00Speaker 7: The driver's licenses for thousands of commercial drivers across the
- 12:03Speaker 7: state were revoked. That includes operators of semi trucks, school buses,
- 12:07Speaker 7: and even some construction workers. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says
- 12:11Speaker 7: this is because they were illegally issued. To quote dangerous
- 12:14Speaker 7: foreign drivers, but the Trumpet administration and Governor Gavin Newsom's
- 12:18Speaker 7: office have different stories about why this happened. NBC four
- 12:22Speaker 7: as Alex Rosier joins us live from the Commerce truck
- 12:24Speaker 7: stop with those details.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Alex Yeah.
- 12:28Speaker 8: Today, the Department of Transportation put out a statement saying
- 12:31Speaker 8: that those seventeen thousand CDLs were revoked in the state
- 12:35Speaker 8: of California because they were illegally issued. But the Governor's
- 12:38Speaker 8: office quickly responded, saying the Department of Transportation just isn't.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Sharing the truth.
- 12:45Speaker 8: Today, truck drivers got back on the road after filling
- 12:48Speaker 8: up at the Commerce truck stop. On the same day,
- 12:51Speaker 8: US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the California DMV revoked
- 12:56Speaker 8: seventeen thousand commercial driver's licenses in the state because he
- 13:00Speaker 8: said the CDLs were illegally issued to quote dangerous foreign drivers.
- 13:05Speaker 8: This morning, the California DMV asked the Governor's office to respond,
- 13:08Speaker 8: and Governor knew some spokesperson said quote. Once again, the
- 13:12Speaker 8: Sean Road rules Duffy fails to share the truth, spreading
- 13:15Speaker 8: easily disproven falsehoods in a sad and desperate attempt to
- 13:19Speaker 8: please his dear leader. The Governor's officers the impacted drivers
- 13:23Speaker 8: are not illegal immigrants and that the licenses were withdrawn
- 13:27Speaker 8: due to quote inconsistency with California law. The DMV didn't
- 13:31Speaker 8: respond when asked for further clarification on what that means.
- 13:34Speaker 1: By the way, isn't it amazing that California is admitting
- 13:38Speaker 1: that they screwed up, but they won't admit what the
- 13:41Speaker 1: screw up is and they would rather just not admit
- 13:44Speaker 1: that they put people's lives at risk and cost people
- 13:47Speaker 1: their lives on the roadways in California by giving out
- 13:52Speaker 1: seventeen thousand commercial driver's licenses to many who couldn't pass
- 13:58Speaker 1: the damned test, who do not know how to read
- 14:03Speaker 1: the road signs. You also notice in this report and
- 14:07Speaker 1: may O Maya is a scandal that of course they
- 14:09Speaker 1: just mention and move on because it's still NBC News
- 14:12Speaker 1: in LA that's doing this report that some of these
- 14:16Speaker 1: driver's licenses went to school bus drivers. Imagine finding out
- 14:21Speaker 1: that your child is on a school bus being driven
- 14:23Speaker 1: by someone that doesn't know the rules of the roads.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Imagine having a school bus driver who can't speak English,
- 14:31Speaker 1: or a school bus driver that can't.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Read the signs on the roadway.
- 14:36Speaker 1: We've noticed recently that the national reports have exposed just
- 14:41Speaker 1: how dangerous our roadways are, with illegal immigrants causing deadly
- 14:46Speaker 1: res caught on camera. We also know that states that
- 14:50Speaker 1: are cracking down this have found that there are many
- 14:52Speaker 1: drivers that are in their states on their roadways are
- 14:57Speaker 1: a massive threat to society because when they pull them over,
- 15:00Speaker 1: they can't even understand what the police officers or the
- 15:04Speaker 1: highway patrolman are even saying, and they cannot identify what
- 15:08Speaker 1: road signs actually mean. So you hear California saying, okay, well,
- 15:15Speaker 1: this seems to be like a clerical kind of error.
- 15:18Speaker 1: They don't want to admit that, Yes, they pandered to
- 15:21Speaker 1: illegal immigrants and put their lives ahead of American lives
- 15:26Speaker 1: and put countless lives.
- 15:27Speaker 3: At risk every day.
- 15:30Speaker 1: So as they finished his story, listen carefully to some
- 15:34Speaker 1: of the propaganda language that's coming from NBCLA.
- 15:39Speaker 8: But the news comes one month after a semi truck
- 15:42Speaker 8: driver who was in the United States illegally was accused
- 15:45Speaker 8: of causing a crash that killed three people in Ontario.
- 15:49Speaker 8: And it follows the California dmb's announcement in September that
- 15:52Speaker 8: the DMB cannot issue or renew CDLs to people who
- 15:56Speaker 8: are here legally in the United States but are not
- 15:59Speaker 8: permanent or citizens.
- 16:01Speaker 9: We have definitely seen the impact on our students.
- 16:05Speaker 8: Rosie Trujillo was the office manager at the Los Angeles
- 16:08Speaker 8: Trucking College.
- 16:09Speaker 9: We've had us students here and he had to read
- 16:13Speaker 9: his license was working family men, so he just had
- 16:17Speaker 9: to go to the DMB and renew his license. He
- 16:21Speaker 9: had Attaka, he went and he tried to renew it.
- 16:24Speaker 9: He couldn't anymore. They said that they don't accept it
- 16:27Speaker 9: unless he has residency or citizenship.
- 16:30Speaker 3: And Rosie says, most of their students. But by the way,
- 16:32Speaker 3: let's just pause there.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Notice how they're trying to turn the illegal immigrant into
- 16:37Speaker 1: the victim in their reporting. They want you to feel sorry.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Not for the three people that were killed on the
- 16:43Speaker 1: roadways they just talked about in the report. No, no, no, no,
- 16:46Speaker 1: Not for the Americans who are being pushed out of
- 16:48Speaker 1: jobs by illegal immigrants who are getting the CDL, seventeen
- 16:52Speaker 1: thousand of them alone in California at seventeen thousand drivers,
- 16:58Speaker 1: seventeen thousand jobs that could be going to legal residents
- 17:02Speaker 1: or American citizens. No, they want you to feel sorry
- 17:08Speaker 1: for the illegal immigrant, the illegal immigrant that they believe
- 17:13Speaker 1: should just be on our roadways and who cares if
- 17:17Speaker 1: it might put your life at risk.
- 17:20Speaker 3: This is how bad and corrupt the media has become.
- 17:24Speaker 1: And as they finished this report, keep listening to the propaganda.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Since we're't born in the United States.
- 17:30Speaker 9: Not a lot of people that have the citizenship or
- 17:34Speaker 9: residency want to do this. It's people that come from
- 17:36Speaker 9: other countries with acas will work promise. There are the
- 17:39Speaker 9: ones that really want that change in their lives, and
- 17:42Speaker 9: they were the ones coming to get the city license.
- 17:45Speaker 9: We're just afraid that it's going to impact and affect
- 17:48Speaker 9: our business, and we don't want it to We want
- 17:50Speaker 9: to be here for a long time.
- 17:52Speaker 1: So there you go. We traffic and illegal immigrant drivers.
- 17:56Speaker 1: That's the translation of what you just heard from this company.
- 18:00Speaker 1: And they're upset that they're losing their honeypot, right that
- 18:03Speaker 1: a bunch of illegal immigrants are showing up and getting licenses.
- 18:07Speaker 1: They're making a living off of giving licenses to illegal immigrants.
- 18:14Speaker 1: That's the report here. You got to understand how we
- 18:18Speaker 1: got to this point. We got to this point, and
- 18:22Speaker 1: especially in places like California, we got to this point
- 18:26Speaker 1: because many of these politicians, Gavin Newsoon is a great
- 18:29Speaker 1: example of that, said we don't care about American citizens. Now,
- 18:34Speaker 1: let me also say one final point about this story.
- 18:37Speaker 1: You may say, well, this is in California, so it
- 18:40Speaker 1: doesn't really matter. Yes, it does, because many truck drivers
- 18:45Speaker 1: drive nationwide and if you get your CDL in California,
- 18:51Speaker 1: there's a very good chance you are crossing state lines
- 18:55Speaker 1: or multiple state lines with the cargo that you're carrying,
- 19:00Speaker 1: so you may act like, well, this doesn't really matter,
- 19:04Speaker 1: or I don't live in California. Many of these truck
- 19:08Speaker 1: drivers could be driving next to you and you don't
- 19:11Speaker 1: even know it until it's too late. Finally, as a
- 19:15Speaker 1: raptor story, they say this to you, the American people,
- 19:19Speaker 1: about putting you ASTs and the illegal immigrant drivers first.
- 19:23Speaker 8: So the bottom line is the Trump administration and Governor
- 19:26Speaker 8: Newsom's team tell different stories about why this happened. But
- 19:30Speaker 8: either way, seventeen thousand drivers with CDLs in the state
- 19:34Speaker 8: of California are no longer able to legally drive with
- 19:38Speaker 8: that CDL here in the state.
- 19:40Speaker 3: You know what, I love that?
- 19:42Speaker 1: Right, Well, it's really a war between Gavin Newsom and
- 19:46Speaker 1: Donald Trump. We're not actually going to tell you the
- 19:48Speaker 1: truth about keeping you safe. No, we're going to turn
- 19:52Speaker 1: this into a political fight. And Gavin Newsom is clearly saying,
- 19:56Speaker 1: in California, we put illegals ahead of Americans in jobs
- 20:02Speaker 1: and in safety. It doesn't really matter because that too,
- 20:05Speaker 1: they represent. And to be clear, this is the entire
- 20:10Speaker 1: Democratic Party now, Thank goodness, President Trump exposed this, and
- 20:14Speaker 1: Sean Duffy went to work, and now California has been
- 20:19Speaker 1: forced to revoke seventeen thousand Trucker licenses issued to illegal
- 20:24Speaker 1: immigrants and immigrants after the Donald Trump administration.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Exposed it all to keep us safe.
- 20:32Speaker 1: With the government shut down finally over, we're now seeing
- 20:36Speaker 1: the carnage of what happened in this country during the
- 20:39Speaker 1: longest government shut down in history. And there's a very
- 20:44Speaker 1: good chance there could be another shutdown coming in early
- 20:48Speaker 1: next year. Why because the radical left has taken over
- 20:52Speaker 1: the Democratic Party, which brings us to a big takeaway
- 20:56Speaker 1: of the government shutdown. And that is the civil war
- 21:00Speaker 1: that is taking place right now. AOC and the Progressives
- 21:05Speaker 1: are now turning on Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. It
- 21:10Speaker 1: is an unprecedented moment of civil war for the Democratic Party.
- 21:14Speaker 7: Now.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer has been an establishment elitist liberal from New
- 21:20Speaker 1: York for decades. He is now coming under growing fire
- 21:24Speaker 1: after his handling of the recent government shut down negotiations,
- 21:28Speaker 1: even though he voted against opening the government back up. Now,
- 21:33Speaker 1: in particular, the fact that a bipartisan group of eight
- 21:36Speaker 1: Senate Democrats voted to reopen the government without securing key
- 21:41Speaker 1: Democrat demands healthcare substies for Obamacare that's out of control
- 21:46Speaker 1: and unaffordable. That is now the flashpoint for the radical left.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Now.
- 21:52Speaker 1: The vote is seen by many progressive Democrats, you know,
- 21:56Speaker 1: the socialists, Communists and Marxists of the Democratic Party and
- 22:00Speaker 1: grassroots groups as capitulation to Republicans and Donald Trump. Many
- 22:07Speaker 1: now say they phil Schumer did not use the leverage
- 22:10Speaker 1: his cauck has had, and then his signals are signals
- 22:14Speaker 1: of weakness. AOC publicly now questioning whether Schumer should remain
- 22:20Speaker 1: in his role as leader of the Senate, pointing to
- 22:23Speaker 1: broader structural issues in the Democratic Party. Other House Democrats
- 22:29Speaker 1: Rocanna or she Talib and even state leaders like Gavin
- 22:33Speaker 1: Newsom and Governor of New York Kathyochel have also now
- 22:37Speaker 1: voiced discontent with the extreme leftist Chuck Schumer.
- 22:43Speaker 3: You can't make it up now.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Despite the pressure, Schumer has refused to step down, insisting
- 22:49Speaker 1: he made the tough call for the country and the party.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Now.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Several currents are driving this internal revolt. Perceive lack of
- 22:59Speaker 1: a fight is number one for many Democratic donors and
- 23:03Speaker 1: many younger and more progressive Democrats. The movement demands, what well,
- 23:08Speaker 1: aggressive opposition, including violence against Donald Trump and any Republican
- 23:13Speaker 1: that gets in their way. The same people that celebrated
- 23:16Speaker 1: the assassination attempt on Donald Trump and celebrate the literal
- 23:21Speaker 1: assassination of Charlie Kirk. Schumer's strategy is being viewed as
- 23:26Speaker 1: quote too cautious or deferential by many of the radical leftists.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Organizational fatigue is another thing that's been quoted by Democratic
- 23:36Speaker 1: insiders saying the Democratic base is just well frustrated with
- 23:41Speaker 1: the messaging that emphasizes tradition, processing, bipartisanship over radical bold wins.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Schumer's leadership style, they say, is well long overdue, long
- 23:52Speaker 1: tenure institutional relationships, and just not a good framework for
- 23:57Speaker 1: the Marxists and socialists that have taken over the party now.
- 24:01Speaker 1: The shutdown fight was a leverage movement, they say, and
- 24:05Speaker 1: many believe that Chuck Schumer and his caucus could have
- 24:08Speaker 1: extracted more from Republicans but quote did not, which means
- 24:14Speaker 1: it's time for him to go. So what is the
- 24:17Speaker 1: status and what is the challenge to Chuck Schumer? Well,
- 24:21Speaker 1: at present, there's no formal motion in the Senate Caucus
- 24:24Speaker 1: to force Schumer to be out. Leadership changes typically come
- 24:28Speaker 1: via internal elections or a caucus vote, and we haven't
- 24:32Speaker 1: seen that yet. Now the pressure is clearly more public
- 24:38Speaker 1: and more signaling of what can come in the days
- 24:41Speaker 1: and weeks ahead. Progressive groups are going to war, and
- 24:45Speaker 1: even some members of Congress are now calling openly for
- 24:49Speaker 1: total new leadership. This as Nancy Pelosi has announced that
- 24:54Speaker 1: she will not seek reelection as well. Schumer's refusal, they
- 24:58Speaker 1: say to step down means well, the default remains him
- 25:02Speaker 1: in the role as leader of the Democratic Party unless
- 25:05Speaker 1: the size of a block of Senate Democrats moved to
- 25:08Speaker 1: replace him.
- 25:10Speaker 3: The coming months they're going to matter.
- 25:12Speaker 1: And the big question is will Chuck Schumer force a
- 25:15Speaker 1: government shutdown yet again come January. There are many Democrats
- 25:19Speaker 1: that are saying, we're willing to let you go to January,
- 25:23Speaker 1: but if you don't do it again and do a
- 25:25Speaker 1: better job, then we're done with you. And that may
- 25:29Speaker 1: be one of the silver linings of this government shutdown
- 25:33Speaker 1: is we are now witnessing a full blown civil war
- 25:36Speaker 1: within the Democratic Party. AOC by the way, may have
- 25:41Speaker 1: been the only Democratic winner from the government shutdown, raising
- 25:45Speaker 1: her name recognition and making it clear there's a very
- 25:49Speaker 1: good chance she could be the next Senator from New York,
- 25:54Speaker 1: going after Chuck Schumer's seat as well as his leadership role.
- 25:59Speaker 1: And that is what you can take away from the
- 26:02Speaker 1: government shut down. I also want you to take a
- 26:06Speaker 1: listen to this conversation on Fox and Friends. It goes
- 26:10Speaker 1: back to the point I was making a moment ago,
- 26:13Speaker 1: and that is right now, the Democratic Party is in
- 26:16Speaker 1: a civil war. And they also didn't get what they
- 26:19Speaker 1: claimed they actually wanted from the government shut down. Take
- 26:24Speaker 1: a listen to how they described it on Fox.
- 26:28Speaker 4: One point four million federal workers and we lost fourteen
- 26:31Speaker 4: billion out the economy. One point four million federal workers
- 26:34Speaker 4: going without pay. Besides that, what did the Democrats get
- 26:36Speaker 4: out of it? If that was they knew that was
- 26:38Speaker 4: going to happen, and they wanted to do this longer.
- 26:41Speaker 4: So I mean, when you just said King Jeffery is
- 26:44Speaker 4: going it's not over.
- 26:45Speaker 10: Yeah, it's so, but he's doing it for the progressive base.
- 26:49Speaker 10: But my thing is all these federal workers, they're unions
- 26:52Speaker 10: buying lars, they support the Democrats, and they're still cheering
- 26:56Speaker 10: for the government to be shut down. At what point
- 26:58Speaker 10: do you pick your family over the party and say
- 27:01Speaker 10: I can't support these guys if they're going to keep
- 27:03Speaker 10: the government shut down just to get back at Trump
- 27:07Speaker 10: and say it's causing maximum pain. This is the only
- 27:10Speaker 10: leverage that they have. You got to stop supporting these people.
- 27:13Speaker 3: AOC.
- 27:13Speaker 11: She said that this is a coordinated effort between the
- 27:17Speaker 11: Democrats and the Republicans. The ones who voted with the Republicans.
- 27:20Speaker 11: There were eight in the Senate that voted with Republicans,
- 27:22Speaker 11: six in the House that voted with Republicans. And no,
- 27:25Speaker 11: it's just common sense. We want snap benefits to go
- 27:28Speaker 11: to the families that need it. We want you to
- 27:30Speaker 11: get your paycheck if you work for the federal government. Here,
- 27:33Speaker 11: here's a Here are some reactions from AOC and some
- 27:36Speaker 11: of the progressive House members.
- 27:39Speaker 6: There's no one vote that ended this shutdown. We are
- 27:42Speaker 6: talking about a coordinated effort of eight senators with the
- 27:47Speaker 6: knowledge of Leadershumer, voting to break with the entire Democratic
- 27:52Speaker 6: Party in exchange for nothing.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I think we're in an unprecedented moment that you know,
- 27:58Speaker 2: demands that we consider whether or not it's the time
- 28:01Speaker 2: for new leadership.
- 28:02Speaker 5: Do you think the Senate Democrats need.
- 28:04Speaker 10: A new leader.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Yes, there to do, but that's not in my hands.
- 28:09Speaker 4: I mean, they're going to have a lot of primaries.
- 28:11Speaker 3: I mean you have.
- 28:13Speaker 4: With the Senator, the Cenator from Massachusetts going to be challenged.
- 28:17Speaker 4: We know that for sure. It looks like Chuck Schumer
- 28:18Speaker 4: is going to get a challenge. The whole push from
- 28:21Speaker 4: these angry left wing activists is to start challenging these
- 28:25Speaker 4: guys and these women.
- 28:26Speaker 3: In the primaries, they were.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Somewhat moderate, and I think that's why maybe Jeane Cheen retired,
- 28:31Speaker 4: Gary Peters is retiring, Dick Durbin's getting older, but he
- 28:34Speaker 4: was retiring. They know they're going to be challenged for
- 28:37Speaker 4: more left wing, more progressive candidates.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I think it's just bad for the country.
- 28:41Speaker 10: It was bad for the country, But I think it's
- 28:43Speaker 10: time to finally have this fight of the socialism versus
- 28:47Speaker 10: capitalism fight. I think if we really want to just
- 28:51Speaker 10: put it in his grave on a national level, we
- 28:54Speaker 10: need a strong candidate. Maybe it's jd Events and Marco
- 28:57Speaker 10: Rubill being together, whoever decides to win in their primary,
- 29:01Speaker 10: and we need strong syndic candidates to say this is
- 29:04Speaker 10: not American. This is where Seth Moulton, who used to
- 29:06Speaker 10: be considered a modern all because he wants the senency
- 29:09Speaker 10: and Massachusetts has turned into this radical lunatic now and
- 29:13Speaker 10: it's I think it's a temporary solution to get the debate,
- 29:17Speaker 10: but when you run in the general election, people are
- 29:19Speaker 10: going to reject this.
- 29:20Speaker 11: Well, everyone's wondering what direction does the Democratic Party go.
- 29:24Speaker 11: They're divided who will be their new leader. If Chuck
- 29:27Speaker 11: Schumer if AOC primary, so will it be AOC. She
- 29:30Speaker 11: was asked on whether or not Chuck Schumer should remain
- 29:33Speaker 11: the minority leader. Listener stay as minority leader.
- 29:38Speaker 6: I think what is so important for folks to understand
- 29:42Speaker 6: is that this problem is bigger than one person, and
- 29:47Speaker 6: it actually is bigger than the minority leader in the Senate.
- 29:50Speaker 6: And Senate Democrats have selected their leadership to represent them,
- 29:55Speaker 6: and so the question needs to be bigger than just
- 29:58Speaker 6: one person. We have several Senate primaries this cycle. I
- 30:03Speaker 6: know I'm being asked about New York that is years
- 30:05Speaker 6: from now, after mind my own constituents, because they think
- 30:08Speaker 6: that this election is this year. We actually do have
- 30:11Speaker 6: Senate elections this year, and my hope is that people
- 30:13Speaker 6: across this country actually participate in their primary elections in
- 30:17Speaker 6: selecting their leadership. Thank you, Emily, Thank you.
- 30:20Speaker 10: She's running, No Comment is running, No common is in Okay.
- 30:26Speaker 10: You know, I don't want to say just yet, but
- 30:28Speaker 10: I'm not saying that I'm not wrong.
- 30:30Speaker 4: It could be the Kamala Harris thing where Kamala Harris says, yeah,
- 30:33Speaker 4: I'm not going to run for governor. Off to think
- 30:34Speaker 4: about it, because she wants to run for president. She
- 30:36Speaker 4: might be hedging because she might think that she has
- 30:38Speaker 4: the support to run for president, especially with the Seattle
- 30:41Speaker 4: you know, the radical Seattle.
- 30:43Speaker 10: Winning the whole Enchilada.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I think she might see a window. You know,
- 30:47Speaker 4: Ever since Chris Christy waited and then missed the window,
- 30:50Speaker 4: I think all these politicians are afraid of missing their window.
- 30:53Speaker 4: If she sees that window, I think she runs. And
- 30:57Speaker 4: I think most likely what's going to happen is it's
- 30:58Speaker 4: going to be a midterm election. Chuck schumeroll announced he's
- 31:01Speaker 4: not running for reelection, and I think that would open
- 31:04Speaker 4: the door.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Shit, can't.
- 31:06Speaker 1: This is the civil war happening within the Democratic Party.
- 31:09Speaker 1: And it's not just in New York, It's all over
- 31:13Speaker 1: the country. The Democratic Party is dead. I've been saying
- 31:17Speaker 1: this for a long time on this show. It is
- 31:19Speaker 1: the Marxists, the socialists, and the communists that have taken over.
- 31:24Speaker 1: They're now calling the shots and they're forcing out their
- 31:28Speaker 1: own leaders who actually gave them a platform at the
- 31:32Speaker 1: very beginning of all of this. Make sure you share
- 31:35Speaker 1: this podcast with your family and friends, put it up
- 31:38Speaker 1: on social media wherever you are, and we appreciate you
- 31:41Speaker 1: listening every day.
- 31:42Speaker 3: We'll see you back here tomorrow.
