- 0:01Speaker 1: Election interference, Donald Trump found guilty on all thirty four counts.
- 0:07Speaker 1: With Donald Trump being found guilty yesterday in New York, now,
- 0:12Speaker 1: Republican donors are digging in, saying no surrender. Major GOP
- 0:17Speaker 1: donors rallying overnight behind Donald Trump, pledging millions of dollars
- 0:23Speaker 1: after the guilty verdict, saying quote, we are going all in.
- 0:29Speaker 2: That's right.
- 0:30Speaker 1: A host of major GOP donors pledging millions of dollars
- 0:34Speaker 1: in support for former President Donald Trump after he was
- 0:37Speaker 1: found guilty on all thirty four counts in this kangaroo
- 0:42Speaker 1: court in the Manhattan business records trial.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Many conservative donors already viewed the.
- 0:50Speaker 1: New York case as a political case solely by design,
- 0:54Speaker 1: echoing Republican President of Kennet's view, the Democrat crats want
- 0:59Speaker 1: to discredit and weaken Trump ahead of November the fifth
- 1:03Speaker 1: election against Joe Biden by saying he's a convicted felon.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Reuters is now reporting the large group of donors are
- 1:11Speaker 1: more than happy to put their money where their mouth is,
- 1:15Speaker 1: where their beliefs are, and offer financial support to Donald
- 1:20Speaker 1: Trump ahead of this twenty twenty four full speed campaign trail.
- 1:28Speaker 1: The outlet pointed to mega donors, including casino billionaire Adelson
- 1:36Speaker 1: and hotel giant Robert Bigelow, as having lined up behind Trump,
- 1:43Speaker 1: with their donation set to bolster wave of pro Trump ads,
- 1:47Speaker 1: door knocking and phone banking in battleground states. Donald Trump
- 1:54Speaker 1: found guilty convicted on all thirty four counts, saying this
- 1:59Speaker 1: is far from over Reuters further adding this, the verdict
- 2:05Speaker 1: also spurred some longtime Trump donors to boost their financial
- 2:11Speaker 1: support for Donald Trump and in at least one case,
- 2:15Speaker 1: makes a big donation to him for the very first time.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Robert Bigelow, among Trump's top supporters, already have given over
- 2:24Speaker 1: nine million to an outside group supporting him, said the
- 2:28Speaker 1: criminal proceedings against the former president were a disgrace, saying quote,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I'm sending President Trump another five million, as I promised
- 2:39Speaker 1: him another five million, the mega donor said to Reuters.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Upbeat Silicon Valley tech investor Sean McGuire posts on social
- 2:50Speaker 1: media side acts after the verdict that he had donated
- 2:52Speaker 1: three hundred thousand dollars to support Trump as well, saying
- 2:57Speaker 1: the timing isn't a coincidence. Don Tepia, a former Trump
- 3:03Speaker 1: ambassador to Jamaica, confirmed the outlet that he and a
- 3:06Speaker 1: small network of family and friends with whom he donates,
- 3:10Speaker 1: had planned to give around two hundred and fifty thousand
- 3:13Speaker 1: to the election to support Trump, saying this. After the conviction,
- 3:19Speaker 1: Tapia told Reuters his group hasn't waivered and would aim
- 3:23Speaker 1: to give over one million to the pro Trump's spending
- 3:26Speaker 1: group MAGA Inc. In the coming weeks, saying this, we
- 3:31Speaker 1: are going all in for him. He also sent Ruters
- 3:36Speaker 1: a photo of an American flag flying upside down outside
- 3:40Speaker 1: his home in Paradise Valley, Arizona, to protest the verdict.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Even CNN sang last night, there is a chance that
- 3:56Speaker 1: a Trump guilty verdict is going to fire massively for
- 4:03Speaker 1: the Democratic Party massively.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Take a listen to this.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Of course, Melissa is still here with me, So Scott,
- 4:12Speaker 3: your reaction and what are you hearing now You've had
- 4:14Speaker 3: a chance to really talk to a whole lot of Republicans.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Get on the phone. What are you hearing from them?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Well, if my phone on the text messages I'm receiving,
- 4:24Speaker 4: or any indication every Republican in the country is matter
- 4:27Speaker 4: in a wet hen. I mean people who are decidedly
- 4:29Speaker 4: non MAGA not. Trump fans are blowing up tonight saying
- 4:34Speaker 4: this case never should have been brought. This is ridiculous charges.
- 4:37Speaker 4: It was egregious use of the criminal justice system. And
- 4:40Speaker 4: I mean, I'm hearing people say I had no intention
- 4:42Speaker 4: of voting for Donald Trump, and now I am. And
- 4:44Speaker 4: then if you ask the Trump campaign what's happening, you know,
- 4:46Speaker 4: they literally broke their online donation portal because people were
- 4:51Speaker 4: rushing to the internet to give them money in the
- 4:52Speaker 4: minutes after the verdict. So I think there's a real
- 4:56Speaker 4: chance here it's going to massively backfire on the Democrats
- 4:59Speaker 4: and help Donald Trump.
- 5:00Speaker 3: All right, let me I just want to hold this
- 5:01Speaker 3: up on the screen. This is the website that you're
- 5:04Speaker 3: referring to, the fundraising page that the Trump campaign uses
- 5:06Speaker 3: for donations. It did go down soon after the verdict.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Now we're not sure yet why formerly, Scott, but you're right,
- 5:13Speaker 3: people are speculating that it's because so many people wanted
- 5:16Speaker 3: to donate that it got overloaded. It's back up now,
- 5:20Speaker 3: So do you really think this is going to be
- 5:21Speaker 3: a fundraising bonanza. I mean, we have seen this, Scott, obviously,
- 5:25Speaker 3: on the back of every single indictment, right or conviction,
- 5:29Speaker 3: but obviously this is the first criminal case. So do
- 5:32Speaker 3: you think that's what we're going to see?
- 5:35Speaker 5: Absolutely?
- 5:35Speaker 4: And I'm not speculating. I mean, the Trump campaign told
- 5:37Speaker 4: me directly their portal was overloaded, but that's why they
- 5:40Speaker 4: think it went down. But yeah, I think people are
- 5:42Speaker 4: going to go because they're mad. They believe that, after
- 5:45Speaker 4: everything that's happened with Donald Trump over the last several years,
- 5:48Speaker 4: that you're going to convict this guy on a bunch
- 5:50Speaker 4: of felonies over sex paperwork. It sounds crazy to anyone
- 5:54Speaker 4: who is not in the left wing fever swamps. And
- 5:57Speaker 4: so yeah, I think there's a danger here for demic
- 6:00Speaker 4: cras this blows up in their face. And now Trump's unleashed.
- 6:03Speaker 4: He can campaign, he can have rallies, he can say
- 6:05Speaker 4: whatever he wants, and I suspect he's going to go
- 6:07Speaker 4: out and make a powerful argument.
- 6:08Speaker 3: All right, So a list to the point that Scott
- 6:09Speaker 3: just made. He's saying people who said they weren't going
- 6:11Speaker 3: to vote for Trump now feel like they might Republicans, Right,
- 6:13Speaker 3: I mean, do you think it's possible that that happens,
- 6:16Speaker 3: that this has a galvanizing effect that is much broader
- 6:18Speaker 3: and more significant than anything else. Yet it's certainly possible.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Scott is absolutely correct and how this is being received
- 6:25Speaker 3: by Republicans writ large, But I'm not certain that. I
- 6:28Speaker 3: think there's a wide swath of Republicans or moderates who
- 6:31Speaker 3: may vote for Republicans that are like, this is what's
- 6:33Speaker 3: making me the porn star hush money case. Now I've
- 6:36Speaker 3: got to get out and vote for Donald Trump. But
- 6:38Speaker 3: I know I sound like a broken record.
- 6:39Speaker 6: What we'll decide where those voters go is the Biden
- 6:42Speaker 6: campaign's ability to message why this matters and why he's unfit.
- 6:46Speaker 6: Because Donald Trump is remarkably good at having historia gets out,
- 6:49Speaker 6: having everyone singing from the same shot of music. They're
- 6:52Speaker 6: all out talking about the fundraising as we speak. Biden's
- 6:55Speaker 6: largely quiet. So there is a world in which it
- 6:57Speaker 6: really helped.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Do you think that Biden spending the day tomorrow? So,
- 7:00Speaker 3: I mean, we don't know what he's gonna do. I'm
- 7:02Speaker 3: probably gonna come out and do something right now. He's
- 7:03Speaker 3: not scheduled too, but I would imagine you would recommend
- 7:06Speaker 3: come out, come out fast and hot.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Absolutely, you should have all his surrogates, the vice president
- 7:10Speaker 6: should be out there they should be doing campaign eventsing,
- 7:12Speaker 6: are we really going to elect our first convicted felon,
- 7:15Speaker 6: by the way, when a lot of Republicans want to
- 7:16Speaker 6: take away Selon's rights to vote, or we're gonna put
- 7:18Speaker 6: one in office? Like there's a whole message there. But
- 7:20Speaker 6: he's got to do it. And I'm not sure he's
- 7:23Speaker 6: going to Scott.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I'm not sure he's going to why well, it's going
- 7:27Speaker 1: to open him up to major problems as well. But
- 7:31Speaker 1: you heard it there, even TNN saying they worry this
- 7:34Speaker 1: could be a quote major back fire. Donald Trump found
- 7:40Speaker 1: guilty on all charges in New York. I say it's
- 7:43Speaker 1: shocking for a simple reason. It is shocking to me
- 7:48Speaker 1: because I really can't believe this is happening in America.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I also will say this at the very same time,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm not surprised I found him guilty, because this was
- 7:56Speaker 1: the entire intent from the beginning. You find a jury
- 8:01Speaker 1: that hates him, in a place that hates him, with
- 8:03Speaker 1: a judge that hates him, that's given to Joe Biden,
- 8:07Speaker 1: with a da who ran on locking up Donald Trump,
- 8:11Speaker 1: with prosecutors on your team that took demotions from their
- 8:14Speaker 1: big jobs to come and get a conviction of Donald Trump.
- 8:18Speaker 2: That was the ballgame, and it worked flawlessly.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Now the question is will there be a repercussion for
- 8:27Speaker 1: their actions and what's next when it comes to sentencing.
- 8:31Speaker 1: As I mentioned earlier, Senator Cruz and I sat down
- 8:34Speaker 1: late last night to have that conversation of what's next,
- 8:37Speaker 1: and I want you to hear what.
- 8:38Speaker 2: He has to say.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Senator, I want to talk of what happens next. He
- 8:44Speaker 1: was found guilty on all counts. Some don't even know
- 8:48Speaker 1: what they were even charging him with, including I think
- 8:51Speaker 1: Donald Trump, because the rules changed at the last minute.
- 8:54Speaker 1: We talked about that in the last podcast. But let's
- 8:58Speaker 1: look at the immediate few future. There's a sentencing is
- 9:02Speaker 1: that is coming the same week as a Republican national convention.
- 9:06Speaker 1: There is a legitimate chance that a Donald Trump could
- 9:10Speaker 1: be in jail or b could be under house arrest,
- 9:13Speaker 1: and that means he wouldn't be able to go to
- 9:14Speaker 1: his own convention.
- 9:16Speaker 2: How is that not alone election?
- 9:19Speaker 5: Well, man, that's not gonna happen. But it is the
- 9:22Speaker 5: illustrative of just how ridiculous what's transpired. Is we saw
- 9:28Speaker 5: Trump convicted on all thirty four counts. I have to
- 9:32Speaker 5: bet emotions. I am, on one level, furious this is
- 9:35Speaker 5: an outlet. It is it is a disgusting assault on democracy,
- 9:42Speaker 5: of the rule of ball. But I'm also heartbroken. I'm heartbroken.
- 9:48Speaker 5: I believe that our justice system, our justice is supposed
- 9:51Speaker 5: to provide equal justice under law. And you know, yesterday
- 9:55Speaker 5: and we talked about on Wednesday's podcast, he talked about
- 10:00Speaker 5: the different possible outcomes. We talked about the miracle that
- 10:04Speaker 5: could happen, which would be an acquittal, which I would have
- 10:06Speaker 5: loved to have seen. And we talked about the possibility
- 10:09Speaker 5: of a hung jury. One juror out of twelve people.
- 10:12Speaker 5: One dream will not be part of this sparse I
- 10:15Speaker 5: will not be part of this, this charade. I'm done, no, no, no.
- 10:19Speaker 5: The justice system is not meant to attack your political opponent,
- 10:23Speaker 5: and I won't play a part. Sadly, that didn't happen.
- 10:26Speaker 5: Twelve New Yorkers decided they were Democrat partisans. Now will
- 10:30Speaker 5: I will say a significant part of that was, no doubt,
- 10:34Speaker 5: driven by the absurd jury instructions given by the judge.
- 10:39Speaker 5: This judge has made the New York justice system into
- 10:42Speaker 5: a global laughing stock, and across the planet, people know
- 10:47Speaker 5: that the justice system in New York doesn't follow the
- 10:50Speaker 5: rule of law. It doesn't care about each under law. Instead,
- 10:54Speaker 5: it is a tool to attack your political lenity. That
- 10:57Speaker 5: makes me sad. That's not the way our justice system
- 11:01Speaker 5: is supposed to work. As you asked, what's next, Well,
- 11:04Speaker 5: Trump has been released on his own recongnizzance. The next
- 11:07Speaker 5: step is sentencing. Sentencing is going to happen four days
- 11:11Speaker 5: before the Republican National Convention. In the interim, there are
- 11:15Speaker 5: a series of steps, including Trump has to go to
- 11:18Speaker 5: a pre sentenced evaluation. He may have to submit to
- 11:21Speaker 5: a psychiatrist or psychologist. They prepare a report, all of
- 11:26Speaker 5: the steps that are standard after someone is convicted that
- 11:31Speaker 5: a report gets presented to the judge to help the
- 11:34Speaker 5: judge make a decision about sentencing. We will find out
- 11:37Speaker 5: about sentencing literally the week of the Republican National Convention.
- 11:41Speaker 5: I don't think it is by accident. This entire trial
- 11:45Speaker 5: is designed to an interfere with the election. I'm going
- 11:47Speaker 5: to make a prediction right now. The chances that this
- 11:52Speaker 5: conviction is overturned on appeal I believe are one hundred
- 11:58Speaker 5: point zero percent. It will be overturned on a field
- 12:02Speaker 5: I think the judge knows that. I think the judge
- 12:05Speaker 5: in this trial, then oober Backwards, did everything possible give
- 12:10Speaker 5: jury instructions that just defied the US Supreme Court. President
- 12:13Speaker 5: did not require the jury to be unanimous on all
- 12:16Speaker 5: the elements of the crial. Let the jury nix and
- 12:20Speaker 5: match and pick different potential other crimes to elevate this
- 12:24Speaker 5: from a misumeter to a felony. All of that is
- 12:27Speaker 5: reversible error. The judge knows that, but I don't think
- 12:30Speaker 5: he cares. I don't think the prosecutor cares, because the
- 12:34Speaker 5: objective here is not to get a conviction that sticks,
- 12:37Speaker 5: is not put Donald Trump in jail. The objective is
- 12:41Speaker 5: to stare him. Within minutes of the verdict coming down,
- 12:45Speaker 5: the Biden Whitehouse put out a statement referring to him
- 12:48Speaker 5: as a quote convicted fela. That was the entire point
- 12:53Speaker 5: of all of this. We will hear the words convicted
- 12:57Speaker 5: felon referring to Donald Trump, I'm democratic from the corporate
- 13:01Speaker 5: media one billion times between now and election day. Every
- 13:08Speaker 5: other sentence they say will say bellot, bello, bello, bello, bellot.
- 13:12Speaker 5: That was the point, and they know what'll be reversed
- 13:14Speaker 5: on appeal, but that will happen after election day, and
- 13:18Speaker 5: this is all their effort to try to stop the
- 13:21Speaker 5: American people from reelection Trump.
- 13:23Speaker 2: All right, let me play Devil's Advocate with you.
- 13:26Speaker 1: If we're underestimating the Democrats again, I still go back
- 13:32Speaker 1: to the real question. This judge has gone rogue. He
- 13:36Speaker 1: went rogue on sentence him. He went rogue from the beginning.
- 13:40Speaker 1: He's a donor to Biden. If he knows Senator, and
- 13:44Speaker 1: we use what you just said, that he knows it's
- 13:47Speaker 1: going to be overturned, why the hell wouldn't he throw
- 13:50Speaker 1: Donald Trump in jail or under house arrest where he
- 13:52Speaker 1: can't travel.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Look, I fully believe this judge's partisan enough he would
- 13:59Speaker 5: love to throw Donald Trump in a deep pit, to
- 14:03Speaker 5: throw him in the pit of despair, to use the
- 14:05Speaker 5: Prince's Bride analogy. He would do everything in anything he could.
- 14:10Speaker 5: But I also I don't have any indication that this
- 14:12Speaker 5: judge is stupid. I think he's a partisan. I think
- 14:15Speaker 5: he hates Trump, and I think he's willing to abuse
- 14:17Speaker 5: his power. But a sling, he's not stupid. I don't
- 14:21Speaker 5: know that if he orders Donald Trump sent to jail,
- 14:25Speaker 5: that will be subject to an immediate appeal, and I
- 14:28Speaker 5: think the immediate appeal would be successful. I don't know
- 14:31Speaker 5: if it would be the state courts of New York
- 14:33Speaker 5: or if it would be the federal courts, but I
- 14:35Speaker 5: don't think the courts are going to allow the presumptive
- 14:39Speaker 5: Republican nominee, and I think likely the next president of
- 14:42Speaker 5: the United States to be hauled away to Riker's Island.
- 14:45Speaker 5: By the way, New York State is also a state
- 14:49Speaker 5: where you can assault the police officer, you can punch
- 14:53Speaker 5: a little old lady in the face on the street,
- 14:55Speaker 5: you can practically rape or murder someone, and these imbeciles
- 14:59Speaker 5: won't send you to jail. But if your crime as
- 15:02Speaker 5: being a Republican who was the leading candidate for president,
- 15:05Speaker 5: you're right, this partisan judge just fight said go to jail,
- 15:09Speaker 5: but I think he won't do it.
- 15:12Speaker 1: So you're saying that if Trump, and this is where
- 15:15Speaker 1: I love your legal mind, you're saying that it's more
- 15:19Speaker 1: valuable to not put him under house arrests or put
- 15:23Speaker 1: him in jail, because then he's the convicted fell in
- 15:26Speaker 1: through election day.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Then it's overturned after election day, and you interfere with
- 15:30Speaker 2: the election results. And if you actually put.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Him in jail or under house arrests, then it would
- 15:36Speaker 1: escalate the timeline rapidly, so then he may actually be
- 15:40Speaker 1: found innocent.
- 15:43Speaker 5: Not innocent. But listen, I think the judge is not
- 15:47Speaker 5: going to put Trump in jail because it would be
- 15:49Speaker 5: bad politics. This is not law, this is not criminal
- 15:52Speaker 5: justice's politics. It would be bad politics because it would
- 15:56Speaker 5: force the appellate courts to act. And I think not
- 16:00Speaker 5: either the partisan judge or the partisan DA want the
- 16:04Speaker 5: appellate courts to give a victory for Donald Trump before November.
- 16:08Speaker 5: So they're not gonna do anything I think to tee
- 16:11Speaker 5: up a legal victory for Donald Trump before November. They
- 16:15Speaker 5: want any legal victory for Trump to be after November.
- 16:18Speaker 5: And I will say, I will give her one caveat.
- 16:22Speaker 5: I could see some scenario or the Trump issue issue,
- 16:27Speaker 5: some sort of house arrest order says you got to
- 16:31Speaker 5: stay at our lago, you gotta wear an ankle bracelet.
- 16:35Speaker 5: I don't think the judge will do that, but it
- 16:38Speaker 5: is conceivable. But you're allowed to go to the convention
- 16:42Speaker 5: and give the convention speech. You're allowed to go to
- 16:44Speaker 5: the debate and participate in the debate. That that house
- 16:47Speaker 5: arrest with enough exceptions that it is not transparently election interference.
- 16:53Speaker 5: It's just obvious to anyone with an IQ above twelve
- 16:57Speaker 5: that it's election interference that is not outside the realm
- 17:01Speaker 5: of possibility. I think that probably doesn't happen either, But
- 17:05Speaker 5: I do not think the judge would be foolish enough
- 17:09Speaker 5: to order it set to jail, because I think it
- 17:11Speaker 5: would force a rapid appellate reversal of that's terrible policy.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I also want you to hear the second part of
- 17:19Speaker 1: my conversation with him about the legal chances moving forward
- 17:23Speaker 1: for Trump to get something done before election day.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Listen to this, Senator.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Let me ask you another question, and this is one
- 17:32Speaker 1: that I've been asked a lot over the last ten
- 17:36Speaker 1: hours on social media. It's really been popping up, and
- 17:40Speaker 1: there is a divide when it comes to this court case,
- 17:46Speaker 1: and there's been a lot of anger by a lot
- 17:48Speaker 1: of conservatives that said, see, I told you so, we
- 17:51Speaker 1: should have gone after one of the liberals out there
- 17:53Speaker 1: that was committing crimes and gone after them, to say
- 17:58Speaker 1: to the Democrats, if you do that to Donald Trump,
- 18:01Speaker 1: We're gonna come back and.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Do it to you, and Now there's people that say, well,
- 18:05Speaker 2: there it is. The cat's out of the bag.
- 18:07Speaker 1: This is law fair and if we're not willing to
- 18:10Speaker 1: do it back to them, they're gonna keep doing it
- 18:12Speaker 1: to us. Give me your reaction of people like that
- 18:15Speaker 1: are extremely frustrated on that aspect of us that we're
- 18:18Speaker 1: we're playing by the rules they're not, and yet they're winning.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Look, I get that sentiment, and it's frustrating because the
- 18:26Speaker 5: other side, the other side is willing to destroy the
- 18:29Speaker 5: role of law. They're willing to destroy the dciary, They're
- 18:32Speaker 5: willing to destroy our country, uh in persona partisan power,
- 18:37Speaker 5: and and it is It's why I'm so sadday. You know.
- 18:41Speaker 5: I was on Sean Hannity yesterday. I was on John
- 18:44Speaker 5: Hennity tonight. Yesterday. Sean and I got in a little
- 18:47Speaker 5: bit of an argument because the jury was still pending,
- 18:50Speaker 5: and I said, look, I'm holding out hope that maybe
- 18:55Speaker 5: one juror will say no and there'll be a hung jury.
- 18:57Speaker 5: And I'll tell you, Sean laughed at me and he said, no,
- 19:00Speaker 5: New York is too far gone. It's not gonna happen.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Donald Trump cannot get a fair trial in New York
- 19:07Speaker 5: and I didn't want to believe it. I gotta say
- 19:11Speaker 5: John was right. This this justice system, the justice system,
- 19:16Speaker 5: I don't know that it ever recovers from this. It
- 19:18Speaker 5: will always be known as a Democrat, Banana Republican. If
- 19:24Speaker 5: you're a Republican in New York. I think there are
- 19:26Speaker 5: a lot of in New York who are calling their
- 19:28Speaker 5: real estate agents who are looking to leave New York.
- 19:31Speaker 5: If they say, Okay, you cannot count on the rule
- 19:36Speaker 5: of law in this state. I understand the sentiment. If
- 19:41Speaker 5: they're going to burn it down, it we ought to
- 19:42Speaker 5: burn it down. In the views our power, I don't
- 19:45Speaker 5: agree with that. I I at the end of the day,
- 19:48Speaker 5: I believe in the Constitution. I believe in the rule
- 19:50Speaker 5: of law. I don't want power reviews by either side now,
- 19:54Speaker 5: but me that that you get the other side a
- 19:57Speaker 5: free past. My view, I've said many times I I
- 20:00Speaker 5: don't want a Republican Department of Justice. I don't want
- 20:02Speaker 5: a Democrat Department of Justice. I want a department of
- 20:05Speaker 5: justice that follows the law and that prosecutes the individuals
- 20:09Speaker 5: who commit crimes, regardless of their party. So, for example,
- 20:14Speaker 5: I hope if we in January we have a new
- 20:18Speaker 5: president if Donald Trump is reelected, which is what I
- 20:20Speaker 5: hope will happen, and we have a new Department of Justice.
- 20:24Speaker 5: I hope right at the outset, they open investigations into
- 20:28Speaker 5: the funding of these anti American and anti Israel and
- 20:31Speaker 5: anti Semitic protests on college campuses, and they trace down,
- 20:35Speaker 5: follow the money, and they find out our terrorists finding
- 20:38Speaker 5: financing this, our foreign countries financing this. I hope they
- 20:42Speaker 5: use the full investigatory resources of the Department of Justice
- 20:46Speaker 5: to get to the bottom of that.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Now.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Note, I'm not saying that because I have a target
- 20:51Speaker 5: I want to put in jail. I'm saying that because
- 20:55Speaker 5: I see the evidence of a crime and I want
- 20:57Speaker 5: the Justice Department to investigate that. I'm in the prosecute
- 21:01Speaker 5: whoever is guilty, And sadly, I don't believe the Justice
- 21:05Speaker 5: Department is prosecuting that crime right now, because the foot
- 21:09Speaker 5: side of what they're doing is they will abuse power
- 21:13Speaker 5: to target their enemies, and they will also abuse power
- 21:15Speaker 5: by protecting their friends. And so I get the vindictive instinct,
- 21:21Speaker 5: but I think it's the wrong answer. I think we
- 21:23Speaker 5: should demonstrate that the rule of law matters, and by
- 21:26Speaker 5: the way, there is plenty of real criminality that prosecutors
- 21:31Speaker 5: can pursue without engaging in the blatant abuse of power
- 21:36Speaker 5: we've seen from Democrats in these cases against Donald Trump.
- 21:40Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about the politics of what we
- 21:43Speaker 1: mentioned at the very beginning.
- 21:45Speaker 2: We know from the White House.
- 21:47Speaker 1: The words that we're going to hear over and over
- 21:49Speaker 1: again between now and November fifth are convicted felon, convicted fellon,
- 21:55Speaker 1: convicted felon.
- 21:57Speaker 5: There is a convicted fella.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Yeah, right exactly. So how powerful is that going to
- 22:04Speaker 1: be politically? It is clearly engaged people today on Trump's side.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I had two people walk up to me today this
- 22:15Speaker 1: afternoon and they said, I've never given a political donation
- 22:18Speaker 1: in my life, but damn it, tonight when the website
- 22:21Speaker 1: gets back up, it crashed multiple times because some of
- 22:24Speaker 1: you were going to donate. They said, I'm going to
- 22:26Speaker 1: write a big check. And one of them said to me,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I'm you know how much I'm going to donate. Seventeen
- 22:31Speaker 1: seventy six. That's my number I'm donating. And this is
- 22:36Speaker 1: someone that had never donated, he said, in his entire
- 22:39Speaker 1: life to any political campaign, local, state, or national, And
- 22:44Speaker 1: he said, this is our country under siege, and I'm
- 22:47Speaker 1: going to get involved.
- 22:48Speaker 5: No.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Now, I think there's a lot.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Of patriots out there and new patriots who are going
- 22:53Speaker 1: to probably make that decision. But there's also center the
- 22:57Speaker 1: other side, Democrats are going to be inspired by this.
- 23:01Speaker 1: It's no longer looking at an incompetent Joe Biden. Their
- 23:05Speaker 1: hatred for Donald Trump is now backfront and center.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Yeah, look that this will inspire both sides. I don't
- 23:12Speaker 5: believe this decision will change the outcome of the election
- 23:15Speaker 5: in November. I think it's baked in the in the cape.
- 23:19Speaker 5: I think rabbit partisan Democrats hate Trump so much they
- 23:23Speaker 5: we're gonna vote against him in November. They're still gonna
- 23:25Speaker 5: vote against him, and and and and this this is
- 23:29Speaker 5: revenge born for them that that they're just living their fantasy. Yeah. Uh.
- 23:36Speaker 5: In terms of Republicans, I think this energizes Republicans. You're right.
- 23:41Speaker 5: The Trump website collapse win Red, which is the portal
- 23:46Speaker 5: to contribute to Trump to Republican senators. That portal collapsed tonight.
- 23:51Speaker 5: So I think a lot of people went and said,
- 23:53Speaker 5: I want to contribute to the Republicans who are running
- 23:55Speaker 5: this cycle precisely because of that. I think this will
- 23:59Speaker 5: energize Republicans, and this may well energize people. Let's say
- 24:05Speaker 5: you're not a Donald Trump. Then let's say you say
- 24:07Speaker 5: you don't particularly like it, maybe you strongly opponent. If
- 24:10Speaker 5: you care about the rule of laws, you ought to
- 24:12Speaker 5: be outbreaking about this. If you care about actually a
- 24:15Speaker 5: justice system that is not simply a tool to attack
- 24:19Speaker 5: your enemies, you ought to be horrified by this. Because listen,
- 24:23Speaker 5: if you go down to Latin America, you'd have a
- 24:25Speaker 5: banana republics. My dad's from Cuba. Cuba understands what happened tonight.
- 24:30Speaker 5: There are banana republics practice countries that understand what happened
- 24:34Speaker 5: to night, which is one party gets in power and
- 24:36Speaker 5: they use the justice system to try to lock up
- 24:38Speaker 5: their predecessors, to try to lock up their opponents. If
- 24:43Speaker 5: you don't want that to happen to America, even if
- 24:46Speaker 5: you might even despise Donald Trump, you should be very
- 24:50Speaker 5: upset about what happened tonight. The Democrats calculus at the
- 24:54Speaker 5: beginning of this is that there would be two to
- 24:57Speaker 5: three to five percent of voters. You are not very engaged,
- 25:01Speaker 5: you are not paying attention a lot who will decide
- 25:05Speaker 5: the last couple of weeks before election day, and if
- 25:08Speaker 5: they hear the word fell and fell and Fellon repeated
- 25:10Speaker 5: a gazillion times, we'll say, oh, I can't vote for
- 25:12Speaker 5: a Felon, and so we'll vote for Ride. I'm really skeptical.
- 25:16Speaker 5: I don't think it's played out that way. I think
- 25:19Speaker 5: most Americans, other than the rabid Democrat partisans, recognize this
- 25:24Speaker 5: was a political persecution, and so I don't see this
- 25:29Speaker 5: changing votes. And I think even some Democrats and some
- 25:35Speaker 5: in the media have backed away from their fervor from
- 25:38Speaker 5: this because they see it backfired to some extent now
- 25:43Speaker 5: not tonight. They're not backing away because they're too jubilant.
- 25:47Speaker 5: This is too much. This is cathartic, and this is ecstasy,
- 25:51Speaker 5: and this is shot in Freud, all unfolding at once.
- 25:55Speaker 5: But at the end of the day, I don't see
- 25:58Speaker 5: this changing the outcome on election.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Final question for you on this, and it deals with
- 26:04Speaker 1: the presidency and Joe Biden. I don't know how you
- 26:09Speaker 1: can separate what this judge did from the corruption of
- 26:15Speaker 1: the Biden White House. We know the attorneys that left
- 26:19Speaker 1: the DOJ to go work on this case. We know
- 26:22Speaker 1: that Alvin Bragg ran on this, We know he raised
- 26:24Speaker 1: money off of it. We know that this judge has
- 26:28Speaker 1: as a as a daughter that's heavily involved in fundraising
- 26:31Speaker 1: the Democratic Party. Uh. And this all was orchestrated from
- 26:35Speaker 1: from the Biden administration down.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Now they're trying to act like now they're sprit from
- 26:42Speaker 2: it like this is we stood back.
- 26:44Speaker 1: We were just watching the wills of justice and and
- 26:48Speaker 1: and and and a man be found accountable by a
- 26:51Speaker 1: jury of his peers. That is clearly going to be
- 26:55Speaker 1: their line. But make no mistake, none of this would
- 26:59Speaker 1: have happened without the direction, uh of Biden. I said today,
- 27:04Speaker 1: America has its own Vladimir Putin.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Now his name is is Biden.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Joe Biden is America's Putin right now, going after his
- 27:13Speaker 1: political opponent and trying to lock them up.
- 27:15Speaker 5: You know, in law, if you look at something like
- 27:18Speaker 5: anti trust law, there's a concept in law called conscious parallelism,
- 27:24Speaker 5: which is people that all have similar incentives behaving similarly.
- 27:29Speaker 5: But it's not a conspiracy. They just all are acting
- 27:32Speaker 5: according to the same incentives. I don't know that Alvin
- 27:37Speaker 5: Bragg is taking orders from the Biden White House. I
- 27:42Speaker 5: agree that the Biden, Joe Biden has been dictatorially's abused
- 27:45Speaker 5: his power. But I think Alvian Bragg is a petty
- 27:49Speaker 5: dictator of his own. He's George sorows Da. He ran
- 27:53Speaker 5: on getting Joe Biden. You know, when his was the
- 27:56Speaker 5: first indictment. I think a lot of Democrats are kind
- 27:58Speaker 5: of sheepish. They said, Okay, this one is really sketchy.
- 28:02Speaker 5: They didn't want this to be the lead case. And look, ultimately,
- 28:07Speaker 5: the bidend OJ they sent the number three lawyer at
- 28:10Speaker 5: d OJ, who had been a Democrat donor before in
- 28:14Speaker 5: a Democrat themselves, and they sent him to be part
- 28:16Speaker 5: of the trial team. So the Biden d OJ got
- 28:19Speaker 5: in bed with this partisan prosecution. But but I'm not
- 28:23Speaker 5: convinced that Alvin Bragg did so at the direction of
- 28:26Speaker 5: the White House. I just think he hates Trump's guts.
- 28:30Speaker 5: So does everyone in the bidend Oj, Biden, the White House,
- 28:34Speaker 5: so does Fanny Willits down in Georgia, so does just
- 28:37Speaker 5: about every wild eyed partisan Democrat. And so I wouldn't
- 28:43Speaker 5: say it as as much a direction from the White
- 28:46Speaker 5: House as that they're all suffering from the same Trump
- 28:50Speaker 5: derangement syndrome where they're willing to burn it all down,
- 28:54Speaker 5: to destroy the rule of law, to abuse the justice
- 28:58Speaker 5: system because they hate the Trumps so much, and they've
- 29:01Speaker 5: convinced themselves if he is re elected, if he's president,
- 29:06Speaker 5: it's the end of democracy. I mean, we played on
- 29:08Speaker 5: Wednesday's pod Robert de Niro going on and on that'll
- 29:12Speaker 5: be the last election ever if Trump is elected, which
- 29:14Speaker 5: is just it's arrange, it's unhim. But I don't think
- 29:19Speaker 5: de Niro is lying in that. I think he believes
- 29:21Speaker 5: every word he says. I suspect Alvin Brad does too,
- 29:24Speaker 5: and I suspect the Biden White House that POJ does
- 29:27Speaker 5: as well.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Final question, you're a poll guy. I love polls. I
- 29:31Speaker 2: want your prediction.
- 29:33Speaker 1: The first major polls that come out after this verdict
- 29:37Speaker 1: has obviously come down, will they show that Donald Trump
- 29:43Speaker 1: starts to lose momentum. Do you think he'll go backwards
- 29:47Speaker 1: in the polls nationally or in swing states? Do you
- 29:51Speaker 1: think this could even backfire more? Because you did say,
- 29:55Speaker 1: and I agreed with you, that if they make him
- 29:57Speaker 1: more powerful, his poll numbers would go up. That ha
- 30:00Speaker 1: happen when the court case started you said it's going
- 30:02Speaker 1: to make people solidify their support behind on Trump. But
- 30:05Speaker 1: now that he has the he's a convicted felon around
- 30:09Speaker 1: his neck, and that what happens in the polls.
- 30:13Speaker 5: So when the indictment first came down, the first indictment,
- 30:16Speaker 5: I said on this podcast, this indictment will be worth
- 30:20Speaker 5: ten points for Donald Trump in the polls. Now that's
- 30:22Speaker 5: in the progress. A week later, Trump was up ten.
- 30:25Speaker 5: That prediction proved exactly accurate. Now, to be fair, that's
- 30:29Speaker 5: a primary poll. Primary polls are different than general election polls,
- 30:33Speaker 5: and so it caused Republicans to rally around Trump, even
- 30:37Speaker 5: some Republicans who were not supporting Trump at that time.
- 30:40Speaker 5: The general election, it's a little harder. I think most
- 30:43Speaker 5: of the views on both sides are baked in. But
- 30:46Speaker 5: if you forced me to make a prediction, my prediction
- 30:49Speaker 5: right now is Trump. I think it is mildly beneficial
- 30:54Speaker 5: for Trump and the polls. I don't think it is
- 30:55Speaker 5: major league because I think most of the people on
- 30:58Speaker 5: both sides are baked in and it almost doesn't matter
- 31:02Speaker 5: at this point. They're not moving. But if you press me,
- 31:06Speaker 5: I would say, I don't think it's going to cause
- 31:09Speaker 5: showing the poles, and I would say I think it's
- 31:12Speaker 5: likely to be a mile positive benefit for trumping the poles,
- 31:17Speaker 5: and he's already leading the poles right now.
