- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things and the stub true good guy listening
- 0:24Speaker 1: to mother, Please, I don't joint that. Turn you you
- 1:24Speaker 1: you gotta turn to turn them out. Turn you got
- 1:44Speaker 1: to turn out. Then turn the water the water got
- 1:55Speaker 1: come come on your thing? Uh huh, I sure will.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, come on
- 2:06Speaker 1: dig me now? Want it only see Harvey Man got
- 2:09Speaker 1: a radio show. Real glad about it too, you know. Um.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I hope that God always keeps me in the frame
- 2:20Speaker 1: of frame of mind to try to be sharing and
- 2:24Speaker 1: try to be motivational and even when it's not felt
- 2:30Speaker 1: or wanted by some people. I have people around me
- 2:34Speaker 1: who seem to not benefited off anything, and I can
- 2:38Speaker 1: sit with them and talk to them or take meetings
- 2:41Speaker 1: with them to try to encourage them, and for whatever reason,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you know, they want to just keep going the way
- 2:46Speaker 1: they're going. When you run into people like that, you
- 2:49Speaker 1: have to pray for them. You have to just hope
- 2:51Speaker 1: that one day that they release the chains on their
- 2:54Speaker 1: mind and open up your mind to a new way
- 2:57Speaker 1: of thinking. A couple of things I wanted to go
- 2:59Speaker 1: over with that I want you to all today in
- 3:02Speaker 1: terms of motivation, I want you to be aware of
- 3:06Speaker 1: statements or old sayings that have been created that you
- 3:11Speaker 1: hear over the course of time, and you may be
- 3:15Speaker 1: applying them to your life, and I want you to
- 3:18Speaker 1: be careful of some of them because some of these
- 3:20Speaker 1: old sayings, man, are not designed for people who are dreamers,
- 3:28Speaker 1: are not designed for people who have any aspirations of
- 3:32Speaker 1: being extraordinary. These are not designs or sayings that people
- 3:38Speaker 1: who want to be extremely successful at anything or have
- 3:42Speaker 1: high aspirations to put these sayings into your life. Let
- 3:47Speaker 1: me give you an example. Statistics say that's it. That's
- 3:54Speaker 1: the one who want you to be careful about statistics, say,
- 4:00Speaker 1: be very careful of stats. When a person says, you know, statistics,
- 4:06Speaker 1: say one out of every what see, listen to me.
- 4:11Speaker 1: These are things that sound like they're good, sound solid advice,
- 4:16Speaker 1: but they're setting you up for failure. And you can't
- 4:20Speaker 1: adhere yourself to a lot of these sayings that's been
- 4:24Speaker 1: passed down from generations, and it's not scripture. It ain't
- 4:29Speaker 1: in the scripture nowhere that statistics say, it's just some people,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and a lot of people who have lost have come
- 4:37Speaker 1: up with these sayings to justify why they keep losing
- 4:42Speaker 1: or why they lost. When I was ars got started
- 4:45Speaker 1: in the business, there were more stand ups around now
- 4:50Speaker 1: than it is today because the comedy boom in eighty
- 4:53Speaker 1: four eighty five was it was gaining a lot of momentums,
- 4:59Speaker 1: comedy club, comedy nights everywhere. The statistic that a guy
- 5:03Speaker 1: told me, I told him I wanted to be on
- 5:08Speaker 1: the Johnny Carson Show, the Tonight Show. The guy said,
- 5:14Speaker 1: one out of every two thousand comedians ever make it
- 5:20Speaker 1: to the Tonight Show. Okay, Now, when he told us that,
- 5:27Speaker 1: some of the comedians in the room went, well, wow, man,
- 5:31Speaker 1: oh that's rough. Because a guy had also said that
- 5:35Speaker 1: there was approximately six thousand comedians in the country at
- 5:40Speaker 1: that time. I don't know if it was true. I'm
- 5:42Speaker 1: just telling you guys out the sputing numbers. I have
- 5:45Speaker 1: no idea how many it was. But he said one
- 5:48Speaker 1: in every two thousand will make it to the Tonight Show.
- 5:51Speaker 1: And he let the air out of everybody in the room.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Button be so every night before I went on stage,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I used to do this right here that Papa Bada
- 6:02Speaker 1: la la la da Badama ba La la la da.
- 6:07Speaker 1: That was the tonight theme song. I was young opening
- 6:11Speaker 1: act know where near Hollywood, didn't. I was in Cleveland
- 6:15Speaker 1: telling jokes at one night us. But that was my
- 6:17Speaker 1: thing because I was bent and determined that if it's
- 6:21Speaker 1: one in two thousand, okay, why don't I just be
- 6:24Speaker 1: the one? Be careful when people say statistics say because
- 6:29Speaker 1: they are set up to ful failure. If you're gonna
- 6:32Speaker 1: adhere to him, see that one in so many? It
- 6:35Speaker 1: was wasn't so many people win the lottery. But if
- 6:36Speaker 1: you don't play the lottery, you ain't gonna be the
- 6:38Speaker 1: one to hit. Now when the dude hit you go
- 6:40Speaker 1: while he was lucky, but he played. Here's another one.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Maybe it's not meant to be a right, let's go
- 6:48Speaker 1: one step further. I guess it wasn't the Lord's will.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Don't you dare blame God for something you may have
- 6:57Speaker 1: not done yourself because you didn't get the proper education,
- 7:02Speaker 1: because you didn't do the things you were supposed to do,
- 7:05Speaker 1: because you didn't stay to the task, because you quit,
- 7:09Speaker 1: turned around and went the other way. Now, maybe it's
- 7:12Speaker 1: not it wasn't the Lord's will. These are all statements
- 7:16Speaker 1: that sound like sound advice, but they ain't all the time,
- 7:21Speaker 1: got nothing to do with you. Stop letting these old
- 7:26Speaker 1: fogy sayings get in your way of what can happen
- 7:29Speaker 1: in your life. Don't put all your eggs in one basket?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Who came up with this? Who came up with the
- 7:40Speaker 1: If you don't pour all your efforts into one thing,
- 7:44Speaker 1: how are you gonna be great at that one thing?
- 7:47Speaker 1: If Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird had
- 7:53Speaker 1: not played basketball sun up to sundown, Magic Johnson didn't
- 7:57Speaker 1: go to Michigan to get an education. Land Burry didn't
- 8:02Speaker 1: go to Indiana to get an education. These casts was bawling.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Michael Jordan didn't go to North Carolina get an education.
- 8:10Speaker 1: They went to play ball. They went to do one thing.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Tiger Woods didn't go to Stanford to get an education.
- 8:18Speaker 1: He went to play golf. As soon as he got
- 8:20Speaker 1: good enough, he'd gone. These are guys that put all
- 8:24Speaker 1: their eggs in one basket. See what's cool with putting
- 8:29Speaker 1: all your eggs in one basket is you now can
- 8:31Speaker 1: maximize your effort and laser beam what you're doing. Your
- 8:36Speaker 1: problem is all you gotta do is make sure what
- 8:39Speaker 1: is your basket made out of. If your basket is
- 8:43Speaker 1: made out of faith, hope, hard work, and belief, then
- 8:49Speaker 1: guess what, that's a good basket. I'm dumping all mine
- 8:51Speaker 1: in it, because ever since I was a young dude,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I've been telling jokes one thing, one thing only. Even
- 8:58Speaker 1: when he got ugly and I was living in a car,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I never quit telling them jokes. Man. I just kept
- 9:03Speaker 1: believing that them jokes was gonna pay me one day,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and I'll be dog gone if it didn't. I ain't
- 9:08Speaker 1: take no time off. Go work at to Walmart, get
- 9:11Speaker 1: me a job, go back to forward and big for
- 9:13Speaker 1: my job back. Hey man, put all your eggs in
- 9:17Speaker 1: a basket. Just make sure that your basket is made
- 9:20Speaker 1: up of faith, hope, belief, hard work. Your basket woven
- 9:26Speaker 1: by God. What you're tripping for, you're defeating yourself. Where
- 9:30Speaker 1: is your faith? Where is your belief? Where is your trust?
- 9:34Speaker 1: At one point in time, you got to believe that
- 9:37Speaker 1: God could do what he say gonna do. Because he
- 9:39Speaker 1: didn't done it for others, He'll most certainly do it
- 9:41Speaker 1: for you. Be careful of these sayings that's out here,
- 9:45Speaker 1: that's aligned by losers and people to justify why they
- 9:49Speaker 1: are not succeeded. Don't apply this stuff to your life,
- 9:51Speaker 1: and it ain't got nothing to do with you. You're
- 9:53Speaker 1: gonna mess yourself up. All right, Okay, you're listening morning
- 10:02Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen. Let me have your attention please. Uh.
- 10:05Speaker 1: This is the beginning of a new day. It's the
- 10:09Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. It's a new day. He gone, whoa,
- 10:16Speaker 1: don't you relieve man? What a feeling wow? Wow? Or
- 10:25Speaker 1: a feeling yesterday? It was amazing, man, pretty good. We'll
- 10:27Speaker 1: talking about it today. We got great showline in the
- 10:30Speaker 1: face Charlott Strawberry. Whoa, hallelujah, Hello Steve, who I feel
- 10:35Speaker 1: so much lighter one time? I'm Colin Farrell. Yeah, it's
- 10:43Speaker 1: just happy. Hi. Whoa? Where is your morning up? Don't
- 10:53Speaker 1: everybody feel like, man, this is too much. I can't whoa,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I can't even say. Man, if you time the King
- 11:02Speaker 1: of Pranks, baby, hallelujah, hallela something it was. It was
- 11:15Speaker 1: you know, it was actually really very It was actually symbolic.
- 11:21Speaker 1: It was a really great way that Donald Trump was
- 11:25Speaker 1: not at the inauguration. Yes, it was really symbolic and
- 11:29Speaker 1: tell us you know what it was. It was really
- 11:32Speaker 1: great that he wasn't there, man, because he just put
- 11:35Speaker 1: the another nail in that coffin of classlessness, tastelessness, bigotry,
- 11:43Speaker 1: hateful division. That's just him, man, that's just him. Him
- 11:49Speaker 1: showing up would have been fake anyway. This was the
- 11:52Speaker 1: real guy, the guy that wasn't there. That's that's who
- 11:56Speaker 1: he is. Sore loser, little punk ass out of who
- 12:00Speaker 1: all that pitty yep yep, Yeah, I'm I'm glad he
- 12:06Speaker 1: wasn't there too. Yeah, good point. No, yeah, and we
- 12:09Speaker 1: didn't and he was not missed. He wasn't mad. Abody
- 12:13Speaker 1: did anybody, can't anybody? Huh? I forgot it. I had
- 12:15Speaker 1: forgotten all about him at that point. I really I
- 12:17Speaker 1: thought we didn't even have him president because when Michelle
- 12:21Speaker 1: you know what, Boma baby walked out crazy, it felt
- 12:32Speaker 1: like Briton. Didn't he from the house of class ladies
- 12:39Speaker 1: and gentlemen, Hillary Bill and Hillary, George Man and Laura.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I was just happy to see him all. Yeah, it's
- 12:49Speaker 1: a new Yeah what what Michelle had old? No, I
- 13:00Speaker 1: I they can go back in and pick up what
- 13:02Speaker 1: he left off his president for lady, we get back
- 13:06Speaker 1: and he does, John, I mean, just fly man, just fly.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And I felt that there was a great moment between
- 13:18Speaker 1: her and Kamala Harris. Yes, yes, they looked at each
- 13:22Speaker 1: other and acknowledged each other. That was a great moment
- 13:25Speaker 1: right there. Queen's acknowledging what's happening. Yes, yeah, but it
- 13:32Speaker 1: was really it was greatness. It really was all right. Guys,
- 13:36Speaker 1: coming up at thirty two minutes after the hour, get
- 13:38Speaker 1: ready for Ask the CLO the CLO chief Love officer
- 13:42Speaker 1: in the building right after this. You're listening to President
- 13:48Speaker 1: Joe Biden is the forty six president of the United States,
- 13:52Speaker 1: and Vice President Kamala Harris is the first African American
- 13:56Speaker 1: female vice president. It's a brand new era, guys, is
- 14:00Speaker 1: brand new, and yeah, we welcome it. We absolutely do. Yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 1: and we'll talk more about the inauguration throughout the morning.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Right now, it is time for Ask the CLO. Are
- 14:14Speaker 1: you ready, sir? This one is from SJ in Nashville.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Shout out to Nashville. I've been married for five months
- 14:26Speaker 1: and I moved into his house after the wedding. We'd
- 14:29Speaker 1: never lived together and I hate I didn't spend more
- 14:32Speaker 1: time at his house because he's a possessive weirdo. He
- 14:36Speaker 1: has his orange juice, favorite cookies and cokes that are
- 14:40Speaker 1: off limits to me. I moved my bed, TV and
- 14:43Speaker 1: lounger from my old apartment into the guest room, and
- 14:46Speaker 1: he suggested that I watched TV in there because I
- 14:49Speaker 1: can't watch reality TV shows on his TV in the den.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I hate it here. I hate it here. They've only
- 14:58Speaker 1: been married five months. How am I supposed to settle
- 15:01Speaker 1: in and make this work? Wow? Cello, I don't I
- 15:05Speaker 1: don't know. You know that hate is a strong word.
- 15:08Speaker 1: If you hate it here? Um, First of all, I mean,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I guess you all had no discussions about this. I
- 15:16Speaker 1: guess you didn't. I guess you didn't go along with
- 15:18Speaker 1: this would be our house. Like I mean, have you
- 15:21Speaker 1: bought into the concept that is his house? You moved
- 15:25Speaker 1: in your TV and your lounge it, yeah, right, saying
- 15:32Speaker 1: I mean, you know you should have bought some plates
- 15:35Speaker 1: or something, you know, and he and here acting like
- 15:38Speaker 1: it's just his house. And so now you you you
- 15:41Speaker 1: you you're struggling. But if you hate it there, you
- 15:44Speaker 1: have to make some changes. Or you're not going to stay.
- 15:47Speaker 1: You have to sit him down and explain to him,
- 15:49Speaker 1: this is what it is. Now, you've married a selfish
- 15:52Speaker 1: ass dude. D my cookie just my oarms you what
- 15:56Speaker 1: you can't? I know you ain't well you know, well
- 16:05Speaker 1: you know the response to all that, this is my
- 16:08Speaker 1: These my drawls that did my cookie? Yeah? Everybody good?
- 16:24Speaker 1: Read at Breakfish, all right? Moving on low and Tampa says,
- 16:32Speaker 1: I'm a wife, mom, and grandmother and I got bored
- 16:34Speaker 1: with the same old routine every day. So I found
- 16:37Speaker 1: an online chat room for younger men that are into
- 16:40Speaker 1: older women. I used to log on late at night
- 16:43Speaker 1: for a little entertainment and my husband shares my laptop
- 16:47Speaker 1: and I forgot to log off one one night, so
- 16:50Speaker 1: he saw the sight. God, you tell the children they
- 16:53Speaker 1: need to talk to me, but he hasn't said anything
- 16:56Speaker 1: to me himself. I'm walking around on eggshells. Should I
- 17:00Speaker 1: bring it up to him? Uh? So we can move
- 17:02Speaker 1: past this. What's the worst that could happen? H Well,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I mean it was a chat room, so you know,
- 17:12Speaker 1: you just got to tell him you was curious about it,
- 17:15Speaker 1: and you get it in you was just doing it
- 17:16Speaker 1: for entertainment. You know, this ain't a deal breaking. You
- 17:20Speaker 1: was on the chat room. You wasn't at the Swangers club,
- 17:24Speaker 1: you were chat leagues. Yeah, but see if it if
- 17:28Speaker 1: it ain't got to that, she got a chance. Now
- 17:31Speaker 1: she walking around on the eggshells. You know, life is
- 17:34Speaker 1: boring and dry. You know, maybe they're helping pick it up,
- 17:37Speaker 1: but you have to just go on and address it
- 17:39Speaker 1: so you can quit walking around. What's that? If someone
- 17:42Speaker 1: said that to you, how would you react? Say? What
- 17:47Speaker 1: to me? I mean if you found, you know, that
- 17:50Speaker 1: on on someone's laptop that you were interested in, how
- 17:55Speaker 1: would you react? Oh, that's whole that's totally different. They
- 18:00Speaker 1: talking to the clo. They ain't talking to me. You're
- 18:03Speaker 1: talking to me. It's a different thing. I'm breaking laptop.
- 18:09Speaker 1: You ain't got no damn laptop. How about that? You know,
- 18:14Speaker 1: get your laptop after damn trash can. But after you're
- 18:19Speaker 1: gonna have to send You're gonna have to send your
- 18:21Speaker 1: computer all the way back to Dale to get into
- 18:24Speaker 1: I didn't mess your so that's how I handle it.
- 18:27Speaker 1: But as a clo, you know, I man, I'm telling
- 18:29Speaker 1: you want to go in and talk to you about it,
- 18:32Speaker 1: telling me if something you did and you know you know,
- 18:36Speaker 1: so do as I say, not as I. He's not
- 18:38Speaker 1: gonna buy that, you know he's not. But yeah, all right?
- 18:43Speaker 1: Moving on. A modern Columbus Mississippi says, I'm dating a
- 18:46Speaker 1: woman that lives about an hour from me. We've been
- 18:48Speaker 1: dating for seven months and she changed recently. We used
- 18:51Speaker 1: to talk anytime of day or night, but she said
- 18:54Speaker 1: she's focused on getting more rest in twenty twenty one,
- 18:57Speaker 1: so I can't call after eight DM at night. She
- 19:00Speaker 1: moved to her apartment and I don't know where it
- 19:04Speaker 1: is because she hired movers to help her. If I
- 19:06Speaker 1: ask for these people, if I ask to come see her,
- 19:09Speaker 1: she makes excuses. She's acting shady and I think she's
- 19:14Speaker 1: met someone else. How can I find out if she's
- 19:16Speaker 1: moved on? You think? Hey, dog, dog, how can you
- 19:21Speaker 1: find out? You just did? You just told us, you know,
- 19:25Speaker 1: you just told us she's moved on. She don't answer
- 19:29Speaker 1: your call. She can't talk after eight She moved and
- 19:31Speaker 1: don't told you and ain't told you where she lived.
- 19:34Speaker 1: She has moved on. How many more notes you need
- 19:37Speaker 1: when you need bread crumbs? What you need? Partner? Yeah? Dog?
- 19:44Speaker 1: She out she gone, man, you know what's up? After it?
- 19:49Speaker 1: How mis she gets she gotta be in bed at eight?
- 19:58Speaker 1: Ye everybody watching TV a night doing COVID. Yeah yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 1: men have intuition too, so you know what's up? So
- 20:08Speaker 1: come on, how can I find out if she's moved on?
- 20:18Speaker 1: I'm your man, but I can't call that aint right
- 20:21Speaker 1: or I can't he can't even know where she lives? Yeah,
- 20:27Speaker 1: who I am, but I'm your man? Who does this?
- 20:34Speaker 1: Any does this making sense to anyone? No? Right? No?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Who that in the background? Exactly? Nobody? That's the tvathing
- 20:49Speaker 1: like that? Who TV moaned like that? Right? All right?
- 20:54Speaker 1: Coming up next, the nephew is here, would run that
- 20:57Speaker 1: prank back? Right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour. Miss Anna's
- 21:05Speaker 1: standing by with national news plus an entertainment news. We'll
- 21:08Speaker 1: talk about entertainment inauguration highlights at the top of the hour.
- 21:12Speaker 1: But right now, the nephew is here with run that
- 21:15Speaker 1: prank back? What you got for us? Neff, you got
- 21:18Speaker 1: one more call? Okay, you got one more call, that's all.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna take one more police yeah, yes, yes, yes,
- 21:29Speaker 1: And we need to have that now right now, we
- 21:31Speaker 1: need cough police. That's that's necessary. It's a necessity. Let's go,
- 21:35Speaker 1: cat dog. You got one more call. Hello, Hello, I'm
- 21:40Speaker 1: trying to reach our Brielle Police. This is Lawrence from
- 21:44Speaker 1: the job. How are you doing today? Oh, I'm good.
- 21:47Speaker 1: How are you doing? I'm good, I'm good. Listen, we
- 21:50Speaker 1: got a situation at the job. I know it's a
- 21:53Speaker 1: little late this evening. Um, and what time do you
- 21:56Speaker 1: normally come in in the mornings. I'm coming around eight
- 22:00Speaker 1: thirty okay, So are you Are you all right health wise?
- 22:04Speaker 1: How you feeling? Um, I'm fine. What are you talking about? Like?
- 22:10Speaker 1: I mean, I got a little phones, I've got a
- 22:11Speaker 1: little under the weather. But okay, so so let me
- 22:15Speaker 1: let me let me go ahead and tell you this.
- 22:17Speaker 1: My name is Lawrence, all right. I work on a
- 22:19Speaker 1: different floor from you, but I wanted to give you
- 22:22Speaker 1: a call you. It's been brought to my attention a
- 22:24Speaker 1: lot of people are a little edgy right now, you know.
- 22:28Speaker 1: But yeah, because you're you're in a cubicle that most
- 22:33Speaker 1: of the people around your cubicle are starting to be
- 22:36Speaker 1: a little worried because they're saying that, you know, you're
- 22:39Speaker 1: you're coughing a lot, and yeah, so I mean, let
- 22:44Speaker 1: me ask some right, Okay, do you think that you
- 22:48Speaker 1: need to maybe be tested tested? I don't know. You
- 22:52Speaker 1: aren't talking about this. Damn uh. What's the call coronavirus?
- 22:56Speaker 1: Do you do? You do? You? Do you think you
- 22:58Speaker 1: need to be tested? Do I think I think you need? No?

- 23:17Speaker 1: and taking care of myself. I don't need to be
- 23:19Speaker 1: tested for anything. Okay, So do you do you think
- 23:22Speaker 1: it's possible maybe you need to be self quarantined? And Laurence, Laurence, honey,
- 23:28Speaker 1: I think you are stepping onto us right now. Okay,
- 23:31Speaker 1: um as that that's very inappropriate. I don't know who

- 25:11Speaker 1: put in ten years at this job and I don't

- 29:07Speaker 1: my bad, short, it's not a high rich work it
- 29:13Speaker 1: out coming up in the top of the hour, National
- 29:16Speaker 1: News right after this. You're listening Steve Morning Show. All right, Well,
- 29:23Speaker 1: yesterday was the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice
- 29:27Speaker 1: President Kamala Harris. Lady Gaga sang the national anthem, Jennifer
- 29:31Speaker 1: Lopez performed This Land as Your Land and America the Beautiful.
- 29:35Speaker 1: While performing, Uh did you hear when j Loo started
- 29:39Speaker 1: singing in Spanish? One Nation under God, indivisible with liberty
- 29:43Speaker 1: and yes Spanish. Yeah, talk to your people too, baby,
- 29:49Speaker 1: I ain't man. Yeah. And Lady Gaga's dress was actually
- 29:54Speaker 1: for the met gala. Yeah, yeah, it was dress. I'm boy.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Everybody looked yesterday fashion, yes, yes, yeah, yeah. People are
- 30:06Speaker 1: just shell Obama. Also the more performers at last night's
- 30:24Speaker 1: starst at an inauguration concert, there were more John Legend,
- 30:28Speaker 1: Bruce Springsteen, and Justin Timberlake. Oh, and quickly, let's talk
- 30:31Speaker 1: about the women's inaugural inaugural fashion like we've been doing. First,
- 30:36Speaker 1: Lady Jill Biden, Okay, was nice. I loved what she
- 30:42Speaker 1: had on. I really loved that beautiful. It was like
- 30:45Speaker 1: an ocean blue. It was just beautiful what she had on.
- 30:48Speaker 1: The coat and dress designed by an American designer, Alexandra O'Neill.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Vice President Kamala Harris wore a purple suit, dress and
- 30:57Speaker 1: coat designed by black designers John Rogers and Sergio Hudson. First,
- 31:04Speaker 1: Michelle Obama, her great nieces were custom um inauguration coats
- 31:10Speaker 1: inspired by the coat Vice President Harris wore when she
- 31:14Speaker 1: was a kid. So it was just beautiful, right, it
- 31:18Speaker 1: was really cute. And then Michelle Obama forever first, he
- 31:21Speaker 1: wore a burgundy coat and the jumpsuit which we all love,
- 31:24Speaker 1: that was designed by the same Designersgio Hudson, Yes, black designer.
- 31:29Speaker 1: One of them kids had on some sneakers though I
- 31:32Speaker 1: did see that and in a nod to Kamala. You're
- 31:37Speaker 1: saying our vice president Kamala Harris? Is that why you
- 31:41Speaker 1: said the sneakers? Is that where you know of one
- 31:43Speaker 1: of I think it is one of Biden's grandkids. Hand Oh, okay,
- 31:47Speaker 1: all right, I don't I don't resolve, but you know,
- 31:50Speaker 1: do with Kamala. He was just weighing some jimmies. You know.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It was yesterday was Converse in Pearl's Day in honor
- 31:58Speaker 1: of our Madame Vice President con Harris. I tell you
- 32:04Speaker 1: the two perform I enjoyed later on in the night
- 32:08Speaker 1: Landa Adams. But I'm gonna tell you I really liked
- 32:11Speaker 1: man at the actual inauguration. I like golf Brook singing
- 32:18Speaker 1: that dude right there, man, Yeah yeah, I said, this
- 32:21Speaker 1: boy right here, you could tell he'd been to church. Yeah,
- 32:25Speaker 1: he didn't have no ear PCN or nothing. Yeah. That
- 32:28Speaker 1: was his cut about this Lord and save you Jesus
- 32:31Speaker 1: Christ too. He does. Hey, man, I like the way
- 32:33Speaker 1: he walked out there. First of all, he tipped his
- 32:36Speaker 1: hat to the president cowboy respect. Then take his hat off.
- 32:43Speaker 1: It started blowing amazing grace. I said, you better come
- 32:46Speaker 1: on with it now, pimp. Yeah, yeah, it was really good.
- 32:50Speaker 1: It was that was gangs. Just a cowboy just out here.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Everybody looked good, man, and I want to talk about that.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Maybe we could do that at black something from behind man.
- 33:05Speaker 1: That's why I said, maybe we could say it after
- 33:07Speaker 1: that headline. That's why you cut him on. Yes, what
- 33:14Speaker 1: was you friend to say out the Nina? Let's go
- 33:16Speaker 1: and try cherdy. What do your friends say? Black? Come on?
- 33:19Speaker 1: See that's your queue. Headline, Yes, headline, miss an trill. Okay,
- 33:27Speaker 1: thank you everybody. This is a troop with the news
- 33:29Speaker 1: and good good, good, good morning. The newly minted President
- 33:32Speaker 1: Biden signed over fifteen executive orders yesterday, including one which
- 33:36Speaker 1: mandates the wearing of masks and social distancing on federal property, airports,
- 33:40Speaker 1: and on certain modes of transportation. He's really going after
- 33:43Speaker 1: this COVID hard yesterday. Of course, Yes, it was different,
- 33:45Speaker 1: but still meaningful and magical. The United States got a
- 33:48Speaker 1: new president, but instead the see of people that usually
- 33:51Speaker 1: attends the inauguration, there was to see of flags, thousands
- 33:54Speaker 1: of them, and in the style very very very different
- 33:57Speaker 1: from his predecessor, President Joe Biden called for a unified nation.
- 34:00Speaker 1: This is America's day, this is Democracy's day. The day
- 34:06Speaker 1: of history and hope of renew and resolve. America has
- 34:10Speaker 1: been tested anew, and America has risen to the challenge.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Today we celebrate the triumph not of a candidate, but
- 34:19Speaker 1: of a cause, the cause of democracy. Biden took the
- 34:23Speaker 1: eulse of office of the very spot occupied at the
- 34:25Speaker 1: US capital a couple of weeks ago by violent, mostly
- 34:28Speaker 1: white extremists looking to overturn the election. But Biden says,
- 34:31Speaker 1: neither he nor the country's standing for that. And here
- 34:33Speaker 1: we stand just days after a riotous mom thought they
- 34:37Speaker 1: could use violence to silence the will of the people,
- 34:40Speaker 1: to stop the work of our democracy, to drive us
- 34:43Speaker 1: from this sacred ground. It did not happen. It will
- 34:48Speaker 1: never happen, not today, not tomorrow, not ever later on,
- 34:53Speaker 1: True to Pomisid, Biden got to work. But first he
- 34:56Speaker 1: joined the foreign president's Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George W.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Bush in honoring a war dead at Arlington, and then
- 35:01Speaker 1: he prayed for the four hundred thousand Americans killed by COVID.
- 35:04Speaker 1: And my first act as president, I like to ask
- 35:07Speaker 1: you to join me in the moment of silent prayer.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Remember all those will be lost in this past year
- 35:13Speaker 1: to the pandemic. Those four hundred thousand fellow Americans, moms, dad's, husband's, wife, sons, daughters, friends, neighbors,
- 35:21Speaker 1: and co workers will honor them by becoming the people
- 35:24Speaker 1: and the nation we know we can and should be.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Let's say a silent prayer for those who've lost their
- 35:31Speaker 1: lives and those left behind, and for our country. Hey man,
- 35:39Speaker 1: so President Biden says he's now about the business of
- 35:41Speaker 1: dealing with the problems that Donald Trump left in his lap.
- 35:44Speaker 1: The many, many, many problems face an attack under democracy
- 35:48Speaker 1: and untruth, a raging virus, growing inequity, the sting of
- 35:53Speaker 1: systemic racism, a climate in crisis, America's roll over the world.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Any one of these will be to challenge us in
- 36:00Speaker 1: profound ways. But the fact is we faced them all
- 36:04Speaker 1: at once, presenting this nation with one of the greatest
- 36:08Speaker 1: responsibilities we've had. Back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 36:13Speaker 1: You're listening Harvey Morning Show yesterday, Guys, did you see
- 36:18Speaker 1: the young African American young poet laureate. She's the youngest.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Her name is Amanda Gorman. Did you see her? Did
- 36:26Speaker 1: you hear her poem about the country having unity? It
- 36:30Speaker 1: was outstanding. It was really outstanding. Now, They said that
- 36:34Speaker 1: she had written half of it, and then when the
- 36:37Speaker 1: insurrection came on January sixth, she wrote the rest of
- 36:40Speaker 1: it that night. That night, yeah, that night, Well what happened?
- 36:48Speaker 1: Really not to be outdone. We have our very own poet,
- 36:51Speaker 1: poeld Laureate. Here you're from the follow her? What you're
- 36:57Speaker 1: from the follow her? What you think you thought? I
- 37:00Speaker 1: wasn't you know? I saw a poem up there at
- 37:03Speaker 1: the inauguration. I saw her there. I wasn't up there
- 37:08Speaker 1: went you're writing right away? How could they? How could
- 37:12Speaker 1: they out inauguration? They like they like they wasn't on
- 37:15Speaker 1: our show, like Joe Biden didn't come on here, like
- 37:18Speaker 1: tomla Hare didn't come on here. And nobody asked me
- 37:20Speaker 1: about doing the poem? What here it is? Do what
- 37:24Speaker 1: he is called? Hit to hit the poem? The name
- 37:26Speaker 1: of the poem today is How come nobody called me? Hey,
- 37:35Speaker 1: miss Amanda Gorman. I saw you in the yellow coat.
- 37:39Speaker 1: I have to say that I was impressed by the
- 37:40Speaker 1: poem you wrote. No, I'm not trying to hate and
- 37:43Speaker 1: I'm not trying to throw no shade, But I don't
- 37:45Speaker 1: know why nobody didn't call me because I've been writing
- 37:48Speaker 1: poems for days. I wrote poems about chickens, I wrote
- 37:52Speaker 1: poems about love making, and I wrote poems that will
- 37:54Speaker 1: make you cry. But my phone didn't ring, not one
- 37:57Speaker 1: damn time. Somebody to tell me. I don't like being
- 38:01Speaker 1: blocked out, because that was my shine you took, because
- 38:04Speaker 1: I could still be up there reading if I got
- 38:06Speaker 1: into my poem book. So go ahead and shine. It's
- 38:09Speaker 1: Amanda with your fancy yellow coat. But the next time
- 38:12Speaker 1: they need portrait at the White House, they're gonna have
- 38:14Speaker 1: to read the one. Junior road ps, I really like
- 38:16Speaker 1: the coat. The end drop dropped the vic. I didn't
- 38:25Speaker 1: even know she was through because she never did say
- 38:26Speaker 1: the end. I needs would have told everybody, the President
- 38:32Speaker 1: and the Vice president I was through with the end.
- 38:34Speaker 1: They known I love it. Yeah, but you definitely have
- 38:38Speaker 1: to do Junior. You know, you definitely have to let
- 38:40Speaker 1: us know where this day end called. Sometimes for us,
- 38:43Speaker 1: as you talking, it's more of a just a damn
- 38:45Speaker 1: run on that I don't come together to. Man. I like, yea,
- 38:55Speaker 1: she was that nice. Man. I was standing. I need
- 38:58Speaker 1: to hear this. I need to hear you missed it.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I was filming yesterday, but I was trying to catch
- 39:04Speaker 1: what I could on my phone. I us, y'all gonna
- 39:10Speaker 1: take that and run with you. Don't do that. Don't
- 39:13Speaker 1: do it. You know when he say he feeling y'all,
- 39:16Speaker 1: don't do that. Don't don't do that to me. I
- 39:18Speaker 1: think filming. Hell, they used to be filming. I don't
- 39:26Speaker 1: know why anyone was at the inauguration. I was filming
- 39:31Speaker 1: coming up in thirty four minutes after President Biden got
- 39:34Speaker 1: to work yesterday. We'll talk about it right after this.
- 39:37Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. During President Biden's
- 39:42Speaker 1: inaugural speech, he vowed to heal the nation and called
- 39:45Speaker 1: for an end of this uncivil war. Take a listen.
- 39:50Speaker 1: A few people on nation's history have been more challenged
- 39:54Speaker 1: or found the time or challenging or difficult than the
- 39:58Speaker 1: time right now. Once in this entry, virus that silently
- 40:01Speaker 1: stalks the country has taken as many lives in one
- 40:05Speaker 1: year as America lost in all of World War Two.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Millions of jobs have been lost, hundreds of thousands of
- 40:14Speaker 1: businesses closed. A cry for racial justice, some four hundred
- 40:18Speaker 1: years in the making, moves us. The dream of justice
- 40:22Speaker 1: for all will be deferred no longer. A cry for
- 40:29Speaker 1: survival comes from planet itself, a cry that can't be
- 40:34Speaker 1: any more desperate or any more clear, and now arise
- 40:37Speaker 1: of political extremism, white supremacy, domestic terrorism that we must
- 40:43Speaker 1: confront and we will defeat. And so today, at this time,
- 40:48Speaker 1: in this place, let's start afresh, all of us. Let's
- 40:53Speaker 1: begin to listen to one another again. Hear one another,
- 40:57Speaker 1: see one another, show respect to one another. Politics doesn't
- 41:01Speaker 1: have to be a raging fire destroying everything in his path.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Every disagreement doesn't have to be a cause for total war.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Right there, That made sense? You know. The thing of
- 41:16Speaker 1: it is with the speech, you know, I think for
- 41:19Speaker 1: everybody watching it, it was just refreshing to hear from
- 41:23Speaker 1: the leadership after what we've heard for four years. It
- 41:27Speaker 1: was like night and day. It was so refreshing to
- 41:29Speaker 1: hear a tone of unity, just a tone of sense.
- 41:35Speaker 1: I mean, man, this man speaks like he got sense,
- 41:40Speaker 1: like he actually cares. Do you know the ridiculousness we've
- 41:45Speaker 1: been listening to for four years, The actual and there
- 41:49Speaker 1: is no better word, the actual stupidity that's been coming
- 41:55Speaker 1: from the White House, from the President. It was just
- 41:59Speaker 1: refreshing to here's somebody talk about let's try to do
- 42:02Speaker 1: something right, let's try to be unified. That was what
- 42:06Speaker 1: was refreshing to me. Now, look that speech is not
- 42:08Speaker 1: gonna fix America. I got that, but at least, man, damn,
- 42:13Speaker 1: sound like you trying this man? You have hope. Now
- 42:18Speaker 1: words matter, and the words matter matter, the truth matter.
- 42:24Speaker 1: We've been listening to this guy talk for four years
- 42:29Speaker 1: and all of it has been like, what what did
- 42:33Speaker 1: you say? Right? Man? He actually edified other ban Yeah?
- 42:40Speaker 1: What you know what I mean? He actually edified somebody
- 42:44Speaker 1: other than him? Up? Does? I mean? I just think
- 42:48Speaker 1: he's a good man. He has a good heart. He's
- 42:50Speaker 1: a good man period. Yes, the spirit man, Yes, definitely. Yeah,
- 42:57Speaker 1: I mean how bad can it be? He started off
- 42:59Speaker 1: going to church. You know, that was his first act
- 43:02Speaker 1: of unification. He was more spiritual in that speech than
- 43:07Speaker 1: Donald Trump was in his life, because the only spiritual
- 43:14Speaker 1: we saw with him with a Bible upside down to Corinthians.
- 43:19Speaker 1: And you don't think a man can listen to those Hey, man,
- 43:25Speaker 1: when you listen to those Southern evangelicals, we'll talk about
- 43:29Speaker 1: he's such a man of God. They're lying y'all, y'all
- 43:34Speaker 1: no good here with Trump, right, yeah, you're talking about Trump,
- 43:38Speaker 1: a man of God, man of what God? Money, self indulgence,
- 43:45Speaker 1: golf courses. Certainly not the God that everybody else goes
- 43:50Speaker 1: and serves and worships. You got to be kidding me, mad. Also, Steve,
- 43:55Speaker 1: President Biden got to work yesterday and signed a bunch
- 43:58Speaker 1: of executive orders ending the travel ban on Muslim countries.
- 44:02Speaker 1: The president also implemented a mask mandate on federal property.
- 44:07Speaker 1: And then President Biden is bringing back the Obama era
- 44:10Speaker 1: Global Health Task Force and America is rejoining the Paris
- 44:16Speaker 1: Climate Accord. Okay, the first date, all that yesterday, coming
- 44:23Speaker 1: up with today's prank phone call right after this you're
- 44:27Speaker 1: listening to show coming up at the top of the hour,
- 44:33Speaker 1: right about four minutes after. It's my strawberry letter for today.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Subject he wants a baby, but I need so much
- 44:40Speaker 1: more Right now, the nephew, we'll get into that right now.
- 44:43Speaker 1: The nephew is here with today's prank phone call. What

- 45:06Speaker 1: to reach a Quincy please. This is hey. How are you?
- 45:10Speaker 1: My name is Maurice. Maurice calling you from the power company.
- 45:13Speaker 1: How are you doing today? I'm all right? What's up? Well? Listen,
- 45:16Speaker 1: we're doing some testing in your neighborhood. We're trying to
- 45:18Speaker 1: make sure we don't have to actually shut the power
- 45:21Speaker 1: down out there, and we're calling around quite a few
- 45:25Speaker 1: people in your neighborhood, running some tests on individual homes
- 45:28Speaker 1: and making sure the electricity is running correctly. Can I
- 45:32Speaker 1: get you to do a few things swarm and see
- 45:34Speaker 1: and in the quicker we get through with this, sir,
- 45:36Speaker 1: and it's possibility we won't have to turn your power
- 45:38Speaker 1: off at all. I know you don't want us to
- 45:40Speaker 1: have to come out and turn power off. And you
- 45:42Speaker 1: got stuff in your refrigerator that can spoil and things
- 45:45Speaker 1: like that. So we want to try to get this
- 45:47Speaker 1: done and hopefully the power with the with the test
- 45:49Speaker 1: that we run, it'll run correctly. We won't have to
- 45:52Speaker 1: do anything. Okay, I don't know about electricity though, you
- 45:54Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, So no, no, no, I understand that.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Don't worry about that. Here's what I need you to do. Now.
- 45:59Speaker 1: How big as your house? What do you how many bedrooms?
- 46:01Speaker 1: You got four bedrooms? Now you have upstairs? Downstairs? It's
- 46:06Speaker 1: too short? Okay, all right, so here's what we need
- 46:09Speaker 1: to do. Um if you can't, ain't gonna take loan though, right,
- 46:12Speaker 1: I got it because I'm in a hurry, man, I
- 46:14Speaker 1: ain't gonna have a lot of time. No, no, no,
- 46:15Speaker 1: this this, this, this, this won't take long at all.
- 46:17Speaker 1: So can I get you to take your breaker and
- 46:20Speaker 1: shut down everything upstairs? And we're gonna run a test
- 46:24Speaker 1: on the stuff downstairs right now. It'll be real quick,
- 46:27Speaker 1: all right, just shut just shut everything off. I want
- 46:29Speaker 1: you to keep the downstairs open and keep that to
- 46:31Speaker 1: the weekness so we can run our test on this thing.
- 46:34Speaker 1: All right, everything's shut, everything's down. Okay. You you turned
- 46:37Speaker 1: off theything. I just turned off all the switches. Okay,
- 46:40Speaker 1: here's what I need you to do. I need you
- 46:42Speaker 1: to turn on your television and then turn it off
- 46:46Speaker 1: downstairs downstairs. How many TVs you got downstairs? I got
- 46:50Speaker 1: two TVs downstairs. Let's turn them both on. You just
- 46:53Speaker 1: turn them on, Just turn them on. You got them on.
- 46:56Speaker 1: I got one on. Let's try to turn that other
- 46:59Speaker 1: one on. All right, they both on? Okay, Now, you
- 47:01Speaker 1: got a microwave in your kitchen, Yeah, microwave. Okay, turn
- 47:05Speaker 1: that on. It's already on. Man. I can see the
- 47:07Speaker 1: light zone. It's got the clock on it, that's got
- 47:09Speaker 1: that double hron thing that's going through there. It's a
- 47:11Speaker 1: whole different type of current. I just want to mount
- 47:13Speaker 1: on number what you're talking about. But I gotta get
- 47:15Speaker 1: to work, man, So the microwaves on, it's running. No, No,
- 47:18Speaker 1: I want you to actually turn it on. I want
- 47:20Speaker 1: you to actually push like a minute or two on
- 47:22Speaker 1: that thing. Anything, man, come on now, I mean what
- 47:25Speaker 1: I gotta do. No, this is a test, sir. What
- 47:27Speaker 1: I don't want to have to do is come out
- 47:28Speaker 1: there and turn your power off. And I don't want
- 47:30Speaker 1: to do that. You got a lot of food in
- 47:31Speaker 1: your fridge. I'm sure right, all right, all right, it's on.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Microwaves zone TV zones. Okay, now open your man. The
- 47:42Speaker 1: electricity works downstairs. Okay, but listen now, I know. But
- 47:45Speaker 1: what we gotta do is we gotta make sure that

- 47:52Speaker 1: do you see the button that actually has you can
- 47:57Speaker 1: turn you can push it in the lighter go out.

- 48:04Speaker 1: I mean I'm in the fridge. I understand. But push
- 48:07Speaker 1: that button five times for him and see what it does.
- 48:10Speaker 1: What the light button? Yeah, push that light button five times?

- 48:34Speaker 1: turn it on full blasts. Got it on, I got
- 48:40Speaker 1: it on. Okay, Now go in your master bedroom. I
- 48:43Speaker 1: can set it off. No, let that water run. Go
- 48:45Speaker 1: on your master bedroom and go on the bath for me.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I appreciate you helping me out on this man. Come on, man, Quincy,
- 48:51Speaker 1: I appreciate you. Hurry. I mean everything. It's everything I'm in.

- 49:09Speaker 1: the toilet. It ain't no electrical plugs in that in
- 49:11Speaker 1: this area, man, right. I understand that you don't see
- 49:13Speaker 1: what it is. This is an awkward bookie. Current that
- 49:15Speaker 1: flows through that water. Flush that thing for me one time? Yeah, yeah,
- 49:23Speaker 1: that's it. Okay, all right, toilet works. Man. You ain't
- 49:27Speaker 1: got nobody in the area that could come out here
- 49:29Speaker 1: and just check it out. Man, Quincy, I'm trying my
- 49:32Speaker 1: best not to come out and and and and and
- 49:34Speaker 1: turn your power off. And I know you got someone
- 49:36Speaker 1: to go. You turn my power off. Man, you're supposed
- 49:38Speaker 1: to be making sure the power stay on, right, I
- 49:40Speaker 1: understand that. Now do you have, Quincy, do you have
- 49:43Speaker 1: a blender? Yeah? I gotta blender, man, I gotta blender.
- 49:45Speaker 1: I got a TV, I got a refrigerator and they
- 49:48Speaker 1: all work. The toilet works, everything worked, all right. What
- 49:52Speaker 1: I want you to do is get this blender and
- 49:54Speaker 1: we'll just throw you a few cues the eyes of
- 49:56Speaker 1: something there and turn that thing on for him. Come on, man,
- 49:58Speaker 1: we're almost done. I got to get work, man, just work.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Women appreciated. Man, this is just the blunders. Come on,
- 50:07Speaker 1: man with some bull I said, I have to match
- 50:10Speaker 1: the cura be walking this house. Man, you need to
- 50:13Speaker 1: check the nice house. You don't have no problems with
- 50:15Speaker 1: those smoothes or nothing in that thing. Do you see? Man?
- 50:18Speaker 1: With the world, I got to do with anything. Man,
- 50:20Speaker 1: I gotta get to work. I understand unders. Listen to
- 50:22Speaker 1: a minute. A minute you go too far? Come out
- 50:25Speaker 1: here or do this because I need to get to
- 50:27Speaker 1: my job. And I understand that job. But I could
- 50:30Speaker 1: just call and had people go through the damn house
- 50:32Speaker 1: playing scavenger hunt. I gotta get to work. Okay, Now listen, Quincy,
- 50:35Speaker 1: one last thing. Are you able to shut that breaker?
- 50:38Speaker 1: Put that breaker back on and then shut off downstairs,
- 50:41Speaker 1: and then go upstairs and check some stuff for me.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Shut off what shut off the breaker downstairs? Go ahead
- 50:46Speaker 1: and turn it. I'm not shutting off no breaker downstairs.
- 50:48Speaker 1: I shut off the work upstairs. We didn't turn on
- 50:50Speaker 1: every damn thing down here. You didn't have me. I
- 50:53Speaker 1: got the blender. I didn't turn on the microwave to refridgerate.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Cool man pushing the tilenus. I gotta get to work, Quin.
- 50:59Speaker 1: I need you to lose this attitude you got. I
- 51:02Speaker 1: need you get somebody down here to do this. No
- 51:04Speaker 1: electricity in my house work. It worked for you called
- 51:07Speaker 1: long thing ain't work. It's not ain't at work because
- 51:09Speaker 1: I'm here doing this book, playing off and all. Get
- 51:12Speaker 1: somebody in here to work. I don't piss me off
- 51:15Speaker 1: and make me turn it all the way off. Shoot work,
- 51:19Speaker 1: and when I get back from work, this should be on.
- 51:22Speaker 1: I got one more thing I need to say to you, Queen.
- 51:24Speaker 1: It's better be the last thing. That's his nephew, Timmy
- 51:27Speaker 1: from the Steve Hobby Morning Show. You just got pricked
- 51:30Speaker 1: by your sister down still better being a witness protection program. Man.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Let me turn it one man, Hey man, let me
- 51:52Speaker 1: ask you something, man, what is the baddest I'm talking
- 51:55Speaker 1: about the baddest radio show in the land. As guy
- 51:59Speaker 1: Steve of the Morning Show and Tommy. Uh you call
- 52:04Speaker 1: me again. They're gonna be the show used to have
- 52:07Speaker 1: Tommy on. I like that parting shot. That's the first
- 52:16Speaker 1: time I heard that. Frank Man. Yeah, that's miss favorite.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Hey man, let's toilets. When he cut the ice cubes
- 52:26Speaker 1: in that blending off with you, he got to go
- 52:33Speaker 1: to work, you call. I don't think I ain't work
- 52:37Speaker 1: with me? Right that? That's that? That's that. That's that
- 52:40Speaker 1: awkward boogie current. You wouldn't get that life switch inside
- 52:46Speaker 1: that fridgerator. Cut it on, it off five times? Oh man,
- 52:52Speaker 1: play too much doing that to that man, he gotta
- 52:55Speaker 1: get to work. Oh man? Did everybody know about that
- 52:59Speaker 1: button in the back of the rate? Everybody know that
- 53:01Speaker 1: button right there? Keeping stupid baby, I'm stupid Monday through
- 53:06Speaker 1: Friday in the morning, but in the evening on Friday night,
- 53:10Speaker 1: I got sense, I got knowledge, I got wisdom, and
- 53:14Speaker 1: I'm sexy and you gotta catch me hard two of
- 53:18Speaker 1: Ready to Love. Don't don't set the people up for
- 53:23Speaker 1: that when they watch your show. Well, I say, you
- 53:25Speaker 1: got good sense. You're giving out good advice knowledge for
- 53:29Speaker 1: you for him. Stop telling people you're sexy because people
- 53:32Speaker 1: gonna cut that show on and be disappointed. All right,
- 53:37Speaker 1: Thank you that you coming up. Strawberry letter. He wants
- 53:41Speaker 1: a baby, but I need so much more. We'll get
- 53:44Speaker 1: into it right after this. You're listening to Steve Harvey

- 54:01Speaker 1: and click submit Strawberry letter. We could be reading your
- 54:04Speaker 1: letter live on the air, just like we're going to
- 54:07Speaker 1: read this one right here, right now. Bug it up,
- 54:11Speaker 1: Hold on tight, We got it for you here. It
- 54:13Speaker 1: is the straw of every letter. Thank you. Ne subject
- 54:17Speaker 1: he wants a baby. He wants a baby, but I
- 54:20Speaker 1: need so much more. Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm a thirty
- 54:24Speaker 1: three year old woman and I'm dating a thirty five
- 54:27Speaker 1: year old man. For some background, we met about three
- 54:30Speaker 1: years ago and after dating three years, we are now
- 54:33Speaker 1: going on one year of living together. He has a
- 54:36Speaker 1: great career, he has no children, and he is an
- 54:39Speaker 1: only child. I have a great career and I have
- 54:42Speaker 1: two teenagers from two previous relationships that I raised as
- 54:46Speaker 1: a single mom. For the most part. Life is pretty
- 54:49Speaker 1: peaceful and full of love between my man and I.
- 54:53Speaker 1: The sex is amazing, and he has a great relationship
- 54:56Speaker 1: with his kids. The only problem is that now he
- 54:59Speaker 1: wants a baby, and he brings it up often. It's
- 55:02Speaker 1: no secret that he wanted children, and I've always been
- 55:05Speaker 1: open to having one or two more with him. I
- 55:08Speaker 1: love being a mom, but my terms are as follows.
- 55:13Speaker 1: I want a ring, I want my name on his
- 55:15Speaker 1: pension and life insurance policy, at least one shared bank account,
- 55:20Speaker 1: and a plan for us to move into a bigger house.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Right now, his mother is his beneficiary and he shares
- 55:28Speaker 1: a savings account with her. I'm not asking for him
- 55:31Speaker 1: to remove her totally from everything, and I certainly don't
- 55:35Speaker 1: feel like I'm asking for too much. He knows my
- 55:38Speaker 1: past and how I trusted men and had babies with them,
- 55:41Speaker 1: only to be left alone to do the parenting. He said,
- 55:45Speaker 1: My previous experiences have nothing to do with him. He
- 55:48Speaker 1: seems to think that I'm jinxing things in some way
- 55:53Speaker 1: by setting myself up financially in case we don't work out.
- 55:58Speaker 1: I am a warrior and I need things to be
- 56:00Speaker 1: in order and organized at all times. So maybe he's right,
- 56:05Speaker 1: but I've lived that struggle life and I don't ever
- 56:07Speaker 1: want to go back to anything close to that. Am
- 56:11Speaker 1: I asking for too much? Or should I be more
- 56:13Speaker 1: willing to compromise with him? Oh my, oh my gosh,
- 56:18Speaker 1: I mean I don't. I don't think you're asking for
- 56:20Speaker 1: too much, and I think you're second guessing yourself. I
- 56:23Speaker 1: really do. You have every right to want what it
- 56:27Speaker 1: is you want, and I love the fact that you're
- 56:29Speaker 1: clear about what you want. But babies are not bargaining tools. Okay,
- 56:38Speaker 1: this is not a game. Babies are serious business, as
- 56:41Speaker 1: you well know, single mom of two, and babies are
- 56:46Speaker 1: not to be traded for a ring, a pension plan,
- 56:49Speaker 1: a bigger house. What concerns me deeply is that not
- 56:55Speaker 1: once did you mention marriage. I mean, why is that?
- 56:59Speaker 1: I mean, because making it legal and marrying him would
- 57:03Speaker 1: get you those things anyway. The problem is, I think
- 57:08Speaker 1: the problem is he doesn't think he has to marry
- 57:10Speaker 1: you because you're already playing wife with none of the
- 57:13Speaker 1: things that you want. You should already have a ring,
- 57:17Speaker 1: a bigger house, a joint bank account, and whatever else
- 57:21Speaker 1: you might want as his wife. Okay, that's the difference.
- 57:24Speaker 1: You guys have been together long enough for some sort
- 57:27Speaker 1: of commitment here three years, and now you've been living
- 57:30Speaker 1: together with him for a year, and now he's talking
- 57:35Speaker 1: about babies. No, I think he's skipping a few steps here,
- 57:40Speaker 1: and I don't think you should allow that to happen
- 57:43Speaker 1: when you clearly want more. You say, his mom is
- 57:46Speaker 1: his beneficiary and she shares a bank account. Well, maybe
- 57:50Speaker 1: he needs to ask his mama for permission or something.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Huh Is he a mama's boy along with all this
- 57:58Speaker 1: other stuff you got going on, Steve? Oh wow, Well, lady,
- 58:07Speaker 1: let me help y'all a little bit, because I think
- 58:09Speaker 1: you're going about this the complete and utter wrong way.
- 58:14Speaker 1: I mean, this is how women get jammed up in
- 58:16Speaker 1: situations that never find their way in life because they
- 58:19Speaker 1: keep going along and they keep letting me and dictate
- 58:22Speaker 1: their life. Listen to me, it's okay to compromise and
- 58:25Speaker 1: be in a relationship with people. But ladies, I'm gonna
- 58:28Speaker 1: remind you again you have every right to know where
- 58:31Speaker 1: your life is headed at all times, and you should
- 58:35Speaker 1: have a say so in every direction your life is taken.
- 58:39Speaker 1: You don't wait on something, dude, So here we go.
- 58:41Speaker 1: You've been with this dude one year, y'all living together.
- 58:44Speaker 1: He got a great career, he thirty five, great career,
- 58:47Speaker 1: no kids, only child. Ain't ever been married thirty five,
- 58:54Speaker 1: no kids, great career, ain't ever been married, only child? Naw,
- 59:04Speaker 1: you you had a lot of relationship, I mean a
- 59:08Speaker 1: couple of relationships before or no. By the way, his
- 59:10Speaker 1: sex is amazing and he got a great relationship with
- 59:13Speaker 1: your kids. Okay, cool, But now he wants a baby
- 59:16Speaker 1: and that seems to be a problem. But it wasn't
- 59:19Speaker 1: a secret that he wanted to cheat kids and you
- 59:21Speaker 1: kind of always wanted to have one or two more
- 59:23Speaker 1: with him. Okay, cool, y'all got that understanding, and I
- 59:28Speaker 1: love being a mom. But my terms are as follows.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Number one, I want to ring. Obviously you've never made
- 59:35Speaker 1: that a requirement before for having a baby, so congratulations
- 59:39Speaker 1: to that. I want my name on his pension, as
- 59:44Speaker 1: you should, because if you get a ring, that would
- 59:46Speaker 1: make you his wife, so you should be on the
- 59:49Speaker 1: pinsion and life insurance policy, as you should. See, this
- 59:54Speaker 1: is stuff. This is regular stuff. This is regular stuff.
- 59:59Speaker 1: This is not exceptional stuff. This is regular stuff. At
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: least one shared bank account that's regular stuff. And a
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: plan for us to move into a bigger house. That's
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: called a dream. People have them all the time, that
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: couples get together and make plans. There's nothing wrong with
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: asking for any of that stuff. You're not asking too much.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: And when I come back, I'm gonna tell you how
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Hang on, Steve. Yeah, we'll have part two of your
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: response coming up at twenty three minutes after he wants
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: a baby, but I need so much more as a subject.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: We'll be back right after this. You're listening morning show.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: All right, Steve, come on, Let's recap today's Strawberry Letters
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: subject he wants a baby, but I need so much more. Well,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: bless a heart. This thirty three year old woman man
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: to this thirty five year old man and and they
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: liveing together, and she got to kids from two previous relationships,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: and he wants a baby, and it wasn't a secret.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: He's always wanted the baby. That's fine, and she wants
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: to have one or two with him too. But here's
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: her terms. She number one wants a rene. That's a
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: good term. I'm you know, too bad, you're just not
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: thinking in this one. But that's a that's a good ask.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I want my name on this pinchon. If you his wife,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: that should happen life ensures policy. If you his wife,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: that should happen. At least one shared bank account. If
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: you his wife, that should happen. And a player for
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: us and moving to a bigger house. That's a dream
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: of the vision that should happen. Right now, here we go, man,
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: this is what the letter really about. Right now. His
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: mother is his beneficiary, and she shares a savings account
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: with her. What can't tell you something? I love my
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: mother dearly. Of all the people ever been on this planet,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I never by like I loved it woman, not my mama.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: She had a special kind of love. I've been in
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: love more than that. But I ain't never loved nobody
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: like I love my mama. Me and my mama didn't
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: never share a bank account, not nowntime. Oh and the
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: reverence I had for we had no bank account. I
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: wasn't an only child. And so a couple of things
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: going on here, and I need you need to pay
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: attention to this is a thirty five year old man,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: ain't never been married, ain't got no kids, Gotta shared
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: bank account with his mama. Hey, Hey, Hey, this this
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: ain't this ain't adding up real good? Kind of makes sense.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Why he ain't never been married and ain't got no
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: kids right now, and he the only child. I'm not
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: asking to remove her totally from everything, And I suddenly
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: don't feel like I'm asking too much. No, you're not.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: But you got to be in her place. You gotta
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: have that count with your name on it. You got
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: to be the beneficial. He knows my past and how
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: you trusted men and had babies with him, only be
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: left alone due to parent and a lot of women
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: had this story. He said, my previous experience have nothing
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: to do with him. Now here's where he flipping it
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: on you. He seems to think that I'm jinxing things
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: in some way by setting myself up financially in case
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: we don't work out. I am a worry and I
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: need things to be in order and organized at all time. Well,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: here's a deal, sister, Like happens with so many women.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: He ain't stepping up what you're supposed to do, So
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: you're supposed to be unprepared in the event that he
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: don't step up. You're doing what you're supposed to do.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: You're preparing in the event that it might not work
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: out with this guy, but would why you move in
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: it ain't gonna work out? Why y'all been together three years?
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: You got to start putting your foot down, lady, and
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: start getting some things. This man wants a baby with you.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: You're not having normal kids without a ring. That's your statement.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: You're not having normal kids without being somebody's wife. And
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: in order to be his wife, you want your name
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: on the pension and a beneficiary periods. That ain't even
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: a pre numb This is just regular stuff. This is
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: just regular stuff. So stop thinking you asking too much?
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: So maybe he's right, But I've lived that struggle life
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: before and I don't ever want to go back to
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: anything closer that. Am I asking too much? And should
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: I be more willing to compromise with him? Let me
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: ask you a question, how much more compromising do you
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: have to do? I mean, you live with him, y'all
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: paying bills together, You don't have an account with him,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: You ain't a beneficiary of his, you ain't on his
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: pension plan, your name probably ain't on that least that
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: you staying at And now he wants a baby, and
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: all you asking for some regular stuff. Lady, stop this.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: You're not asking for too much and how much more
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: of a compromise. Let me ask you a question. Here's
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: my next question to you. When is he gonna compromise?
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: When does he have to compromise from you? I think
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: you need to get real assertive, legeno. I just had
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: a conversation with a lady about this recently. It is amazing, man,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: how women give up their power of decision to another
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: person when you have the right to be involved in
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: all these decisions. So that's my answer to you. You know,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: he ain't compromised, he ain't stepped up. You gotta put
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: your foot down to make some demands. He want a baby,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I want to I want to be married. Now I
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: don't want to ring. I want to ring a date
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: and I want to be married. And then we work
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: on having these kids get married. Stop giving these being
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: everything they want and then you don't get nothing you want.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: She has every right to want what she wants. Yeah,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: she don't have to settle. She has every right sherley.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: And here's a problem, y'all keep doing all these wify things,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: y'all building a guy, getting him dressed, cooking, paying bills,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: with him, sharing, sleeping with him, having sex, doing everything
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: he liked. You know, all is here and you ain't
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: getting nothing, you won't. You gotta put your foot down, Ladiam.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: So you're sharking. Yeah yeah, poster comments on today's Strawberry
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Letter and Steve Harvey FM because he's getting ready to
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: go on Instagram and Facebook and check out the Strawberry
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: Letter podcast. Done demand please coming up, it will be
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: our girl from the Talk. You know, we gotta hear
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: what Cheryl Underwood has to say right after this. You're listening,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: all right, see if she is here, introduced that girl
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: from the talk. Huh, ladies, and gentlemen, I can promise
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: you that today will be filled with information about what's
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: going down and Washington, DC. Ladies, gentlemen, very on Sheryl
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: under what you listen to me. Listen to me, Steve,
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: listen to me, Steve. However you want to show. I
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: haven't been asleep at all. Let me tell you what happened. Okay.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: First of all, I feel good. Let me say I
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: feel like Jay Brown right now. I feel good. When
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: they started the morning, when Trump and Milania what they
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Carl, I was about to cuss out the
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: White House because I'm trying to leave early so they
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: can have Marine one, the Air Force one. I was like,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: I don't give a damn what one get out, get out.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: I was so damn happy, I would like change the locks.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: He'll first of all, moved the White House, turn it around,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: put it on a different street so he can't come
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: back ever. And like I was so listen to me happen.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Then when when inauguration had first of all the bothers
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: and the Harrissons know how to throw a party, it
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: was tight. It wasn't the tight lady guy got growed.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: First of all, I need that dub broach. You know,
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: I'm Assata. That's I think broach she was wearing. But
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I need mine in silver. We was like, let the
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Lord work with you, Guards, let the Lord work with you.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: We know you're visitor here. He me, Steve, listen, Guard Brook, No,
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: he can sign. Then at the after party, Steve the
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: boy from Florida Georgia Line and Tim McGraw killed it
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: on this song called Undivided killed it. Ki lt It
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: was okay, but wait, let me get back to the inauguration.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Though John Legend killed it too, John. Yeah, but the
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: little baby that did the poetry, that little girl was
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: really really good. But j Lo Kilton then got bilingual
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: on him. It was the best inaugurations. They brought the
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Big Bible up, the the Big Bible up. They brought
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: both the families out. I'm feeling good. A matter of fact,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: it felt like the scene in The Wiz Remember when
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Eva League got flushed down the toilet and it's brand
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: new day. Yeah, outfit what you felt? No mo to
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: be nothing. America is bad. I feel hopeful, I feel good,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: and I feel everybody is included in the success. I'm
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: so proud of President Joseph robbing that Biden and Vice President. Now,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: what's combla middle name? Is it? That? Because brib Barriss
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: we saw Look a look at the time. You're listening.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: All right, Tommy, it's nine o'clock. Come on, let's do it.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Let's go. It's that time. Buckle up, hold on tight.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: He is here, the one and only call A Ferrell
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: with what reality update? All right, nephew, here we go.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: Let's start off talking about Shirley, our favorite reality dating show,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Ready to Love? What what? What? What? What? What? What? What?
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Number one Tommy Yes, Yes, hosted by nephew Tommy. So listen.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: This was the reunion show last Friday. This Friday, we're
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: getting ready for Reunion Show Part two. A lot of
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: surprises was on this past reunion show. Joy is back.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: You know, she had to leave the show because her
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: sister passed away and she had to go and be
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: with her family. So speaking of Joy, you know when
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: she did leave, we saw that Denise decided that she
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: would give a message to the group on Joy's behind.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: But take a listen. Take a listen to Joy and
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: everyone talk about it. Take a listen. But I did
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: not craft that message. That was the niece. I did not.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I didn't have time to craft a message like that,
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: like the message that Denise delivered. I didn't say that
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: the message. Yes, when't in the hell what I had
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: had time to craft a message like that for you all.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: So Denise, why did you feel the need to do that?
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I wanted Joy to express herself through me. Like if
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: she wanted to do that, she would have expressed herself
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: to you, so that way you can express through her.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: It's hard for me to give you a pass. It
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: just wasn't cool. It wasn't cool at all. I wanted
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: you to have a voice while you're not here. And
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: if that was a problem, I do apologize, And I
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: did call you and tell you about that. You didn't
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: tell me like everything you said, because that is fun
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: off level. It did come off very self centered. Who
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: all right, Tommy, so tell us tell us you the host,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: tell us about it. You know what I didn't. I
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: didn't understand it. I didn't understand someone actually blatantly saying that,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: you know, this is what Joy wanted me to relay
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: to you all. And this this young ladyhood her sister
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: just passed away and by and she's on the ground.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: I mean, this was a huge surprise to this young lady.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: It wasn't like her so Dick. It wasn't like it
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: was something that well, you know, she's been ill for
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: a while. This was out of nowhere that this young
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: lady's sister passed away. So she was down and out,
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: she got time, she had no time to tell someone
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: else delivered this message to the cast, and then she
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: comes to the cast. While after this young lady left
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: and headed to Chicago to get with her family, he
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: comes and tells us all of this, and I'm thinking
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: she telling us the truth that she's had a conversation
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: with Joy. And then we find out later at the reunion,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Joy ain't told you a dad, would you say that? Yes? Nothing? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, Junior,
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: you watched it too, right what yeah? You called us? Yeah? Yeah?
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: And you know what, now it's bad because it's gotten
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: to the point where the young lady that has said this, Denise,
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: it is now getting threats and and and it's just
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: bad now, you know so, and I don't like that.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: I don't want anything to happen to her. So threats
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: aren't you know how social media is, you know how
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: crazy they get when I see you, I'm this, this,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: this and that. And it's gotten bad. So you know this,
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: this just wasn't a good It wasn't a good move.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: It just really wasn't. That's not that deep, it's not
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: that heavy. She can apologize and you know, and keep
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: it moving, keep it moving. Yeah. Other other contestants on
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: the show, you know, female contestant and Alicia she is pregnant,
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: and everybody was like, where that come from? Yeah? You do?
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: I have time to tell that one lad? What happened
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: with that steeling obviously what I mean, obviously she had
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: been ready to love. The man of the show is
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: ready to love, not already love exactly right. All right,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: we gotta make sure you check out the Nephew tell
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: them when Tommy this Friday, nine Eastern, eighth Central on
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: an Ready to Love Last Resort, the Reunion, Part two.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: You don't want to miss it. Here we go. We'll
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: have more of today's trending stories on the Steve Harvey
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Morning Show coming up at twenty minutes after the hour.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: I mean, before you know, we gotta talk one more
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: time about Amanda Gorman, the young poet laureate who killed
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: it at the inauguration yesterday. That's all I'm hearing right there.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: It was beautiful. It was beautiful, you know what to
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: meet surely and Tommy and Carlin Junior. Yes, this young
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: lady point when I tell you stole the show. Everyone
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: is talking about her. Hillary Clinton said that she not
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: steal the show. It was more or less. I wouldn't
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: even call it a point, I thought she addressed the
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: nation and a point. She even said that she had
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: written half of it. Already and then after the incidents happened,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: it caused her to go back in and rewrite the
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: second hand, right, Yeah, and it's sad. Work was titled
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: The Hill We Climb, that's the name of it. Yeah.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: And then I heard Oprah bought her her earrings and
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: she had on a caged bird ring, I guess in
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: homage to Maya Angelou. And just you know, she she
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: had no fear. She was so poised and grace full
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: and just it was just a beautiful, beautiful situation. Her
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: voice was beautiful. It really was powerful New York. I'm
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: good for no bru. That's what they do for real,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: all right, for a poet like to say that, I
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: respect that. We let more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: Show coming up at thirty three minutes after right after this.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: You're listening Steve Morning Show yesterday. Guys, did you see
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: the young African American young poet La Laureate. She's the youngest.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: Her name is Amanda Gorman. Did you see her? Did
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: you hear her poem about the country having unity? It
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: was outstanding, It was really outstanding. Now they said that
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: she had written half of it. And then when the
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: insurrection came on January sixth. She wrote the rest of
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: it that night. That night, yeah, that night, Well what happened? Really?
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Not to be outdone. We have our very own poet,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: poland laureate. Here you're feeling to follow huh, Junior, what
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: you're feeling to follow her? You thought I wasn't you know?
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: I saw a poem up there inauguration. I saw her
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: up that I wasn't up there. Went to writing right away, Julia,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: how could they? How could they out inauguration? They like
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: they only like they wasn't on our show, like Joe
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Biden didn't come on here, like Kamala Harry didn't come
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: on here. And nobody asked me about doing the poem?
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: What here it is? J he is called hit to
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: hit the poem? The name of the poem today is?
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: How come nobody called me? Hey, miss Amanda Gorman, I
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: saw you in yellow coat. Had to say that I
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: was impressed by the poem you wrote. No, I'm not
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: trying to hate and I'm not trying to throw no shade.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: But I don't know why nobody didn't call me, because
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: I've been writing poems for days. I wrote poems about
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: chickens I wrote poems about love making, and I wrote
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: poems that will make you cry for my phone and ring,
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: not one damn time. Somebody need to tell me why.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: I don't like being blocked out, because that was my
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: shine you took, because I could still be up there
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: reading if I got into my poem book. So go
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: ahead and shine. It's Amanda with your fancy yellow coat.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: But the next time they need portrait at the White House,
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: they're gonna have to read the ones Junior wrote, p S.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I really like your coat. The end dropped the white
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: I didn't even know she was through because she never
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: did say the end. I would have told everybody, the
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: President and the Vice President, I was through with the
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: end they were known, ye. But you definitely have to
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: do Junior. You know, you definitely have to let us
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: know where this day end because sometimes for us, as
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: you talking, it's more of a just a damn run on.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: That's I don't come together three years old too, man.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: I like y'all. She was a bit nice. Man. I
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: need to hear this. I need to hear what you
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: missed it. I was filming yesterday, but I was trying
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: to cass what I could on my phone, I missed us.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Y'all gonna take that and run with you. Don't do that.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Don't do it now, you know when he say he
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: feeled and y'all don't do that. Don't don't do that
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: to me. It was filming. Hell they used to feel.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Coming up, it'll be our last break of the day
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: and we'll have some closing remarks from the one and
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey at forty nine minutes after right after this,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: you're listening Steve Morning Show. Well, here we are, last
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: break of the day, and I sincerely meant that who
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: because it's like an exhale. Now, yeah, huh, we have
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: feel gold, negativity and lives and evil and you can
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: actually go to bed and don't feel like you gotta
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: wake up and hear him tearing the news on and
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: see if something wrong. You know what, Right, you can
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: relax a little bit. Yeah, you don't feel like you
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: have to just watch everything that's going on with the
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: White House and breaking news. You gotta turn and look
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: at the team because Trump Trump had us going what
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: did he say today? Yeah? I mean how many times
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: have we discussed this on this radio show man? What
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: do you do today? What did he say today's right.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: And I think today, the inauguration today, for me, I'm
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: not naive, you know, as I closed, I want to
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: say it like this, I'm really not naive to the
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: fact that this speech or this administration is going to
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: change America. Right, because of America is undergoing a change.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: But the change we're we're undergoing, it's like we're trying
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: now to erase four years that set us back thirty years.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: And so now as we go into this change is
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: to try to get back to some sense of normality.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: With the pandemic and with the presidency, the COVID thing
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: has changed the world. Donald Trump changed America. I don't
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: even know if I should say he changed America. I
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: think he bought out the ugly side of America. He
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: gave permission for white supremacy groups, for the Proud Boys,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: the Skinhead, to these militia organizations to rise up and
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: say that they have a man in the White House.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: And so I'm not naive to think that today is
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: going to change everything. But I'm gonna tell you what
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: today did. Though Today offered such a measure of hope. Man,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: It puts some normality back into the White House. It
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: puts some dignity back into the White House. It puts
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: some decency back into the White House. It puts some
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: morality back in the White House. Because for four years,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: and I don't care what these Christian organizations keep saying
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: about Donald Trump, You're wrong about that, You're lying about that,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: and you bought into the hogwash like everybody else has.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: Because if you think Donald Trump is a great leader,
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: Christian or man of faith, it's something wrong with you.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: It's something wrong with you. Show me in the four
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: years he held office where he sounded like a man
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: of faith to you. So y'all kill me, y'all Southern
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Christian leadership, I mean not not that I'm talking about
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: the Southern evangelicals. Y'all kill me with this attitude. Because
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: he wants to uphold abortion. That makes it the Christian
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: thing to do because life is more important. What about
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: the people that's already got life? I got you trying
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: to save lives by stopping abortion. I ain't got no
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: problem with that. I really really don't do you. If
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: you don't want to have an abortion, you shouldn't. But
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: I'm also with pro choice because we as men, we
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: don't carry children all of the people in this world
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: were made by women. I don't even know why men
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: even get to vote on this thing. We need to
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: just let the women decide what they want to do
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: and be done with it. But we sit up here
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: and because he is pro pro life, now he's the
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Christian you have to put in office. Okay, what about
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: the people who are here who already have life though? Okay,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: So after we get here to hail with doctor. After
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: we get here, let's ben our Muslim brothers and sisters
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: from coming to this country. After we get here, let's
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: build a wall, and let's talk about illegal immigrants when
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: he didn't hide as more illegal immigrants than anybody. I've
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: been on this golf courses. Who you think work over there,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: I've been in this hotels? Who you think work in there? Man,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: come on, stop this hypocrisy, and you sit up in
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: you call yourself Southern evangelicals, and you vote for a
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: man who is morally corrupt. Well, some decency showed back
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: up in the White House. Some morality showed back up,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: just man, some sense of somebody with some senses in
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: the White House. Now, as Joe Biden the answer, no, no,
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: I ain't naive him. I ain't got my faith tied
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: up in no man, But if I was to bet
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: on one of the two, I would bet my money
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: on him over Trump accomplishing some type of healing for
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: this country. It's gonna be just so refreshing not to
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: hear the divisiveness coming out of the White House every
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: damn day, the name calling that everything is, and the lies. Man,
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: if you could just stop lying every damn day. Man,
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: do you know we've been listening to a full flashed
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: liar every day. Do you know every time he opened
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: his mouth or live came out of it at one
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: point or another. This dude lied the entire time he
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: was in office. It's sickening, man. And he lied so
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: much he got half the Republican Party thinking he telling
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: the truth. And you saw them foods. It was climbing
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: all over the walls and stuff. A week or so ago,
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: this idiotic ass mess right here. So yeah, today for
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: me came a little bit of hope, man, that good
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: people still in this world that won't at least talk good,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: That we got a lot to do one thing about it.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: My listeners right here have proven one thing that we
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: can decide who's in the White House. Joe Biden and
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Kamala has in the White House. Cooke up and we're
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: gonna start changing this thing. We're gonna keep vote those
