- 0:02Last time I'll know they can see.
- 0:05Where is the other one? The other perpetrator?
- 0:07And then I helped vv take care of.
- 0:10The big one. Yeah, this, this bats really
- 0:12great by the way. Oh, we did let one.
- 0:15Go the sand rule line by chance. That's what I'm looking for.
- 0:20You know they're gonna use this against you when you find a real
- 0:23one. OK, let's take a look at this
- 0:24leg. That's.
- 0:25Ruled over Will. It has never worked for free.
- 0:27That's in the handbook. Live.
- 0:28Don't underestimate me. I really appreciate your help
- 0:32Iona. Did we try Claire?
- 0:34Who's Claire? We ended up in space.
- 0:36I'm so sorry, Claire. Did she say bubble tea?
- 0:39We really did not take care of Claire the way that we should
- 0:42have. It might be good to take a small
- 0:44break. Yeah, right now I'm gonna rest
- 0:46for a bit as well. All right, so that was weird.
- 1:02We did save. What's his name?
- 1:05I forgot already. Clive, Clive, Clive.
- 1:09We did save Clive, but I don't know, I really thought he would
- 1:12have given us his those guns he was talking about, but he just
- 1:18sold us. Guns now, have you been?
- 1:19Talking about this all night. Oh, I mean, I don't know.
- 1:22I just kind of thought maybe we would be getting those fancy
- 1:26guns he was talking about. Well, I did get a gun.
- 1:31And he paid us all money. Yeah, so we got something from
- 1:34it. Which I guess if you think about
- 1:36it, if you turn that money and bought a gun, then it's kind of
- 1:40like he gave us a gun. True.
- 1:44Jeb, I just. I just can't believe that you've
- 1:46been thinking about this all night.
- 1:48But you have. You have your grand Pappy's twin
- 1:52Colt 45. And I would never give them
- 1:54away. So why are you worried about new
- 1:56guns? Well, I just thought it'd be a
- 1:59nice gesture. What's going on?
- 2:04Good morning, Remy. Good morning, Remy.
- 2:06Now, real quick, before you really start the diet, did you
- 2:11think you were going to be getting a gun from Clive, From
- 2:13saving the life? What the fuck are you talking
- 2:16about? So we saving the.
- 2:18Stuff with the idea that Clive was supposed to give us.
- 2:22Because, he said, he had guns. When he. 1st called us, he did
- 2:26and and Jeff just got. Literally.
- 2:28While it just seems weird that he would bring up the fact that
- 2:31he had guns to give us and then not give us guns is that am I
- 2:35crazy or what? Don't you have your grand
- 2:37Pappy's 45? That's exactly what I said.
- 2:41Thank you. Don't.
- 2:43You also have that American too, and it was it.
- 2:46Was great. Crossbow as well.
- 2:48Listen, I got nothing wrong with the guns I got.
- 2:52I'm just saying that it was weird that he'd bring up the
- 2:55fact that he had guns for us. We save his life and then we
- 2:59don't get guns. I also think that you're missing
- 3:02the fact that that was a metaphor.
- 3:05Trying to say that the people that were trying to rob him were
- 3:08the guns. They were.
- 3:10He. Value.
- 3:12Was a count. You know what?
- 3:13I'm done. I'm over it.
- 3:15All right? He gave us.
- 3:16He gave us money. And we can turn that money into
- 3:18guns if we back. I understand.
- 3:21I'm just. It was just weird and I'm over
- 3:24it. What?
- 3:25What? What?
- 3:25What the hell else are you doing?
- 3:27Yeah. So are we going to turn that
- 3:29that money into guns or nice nice goodies maybe I think, I
- 3:35think we're we're due to get. For goodies.
- 3:39I mean, I I. You got a new gun, didn't you?
- 3:43Yeah, I did and and wasn't yours, wasn't.
- 3:47Yours like a massive knockoff. It is, it's.
- 3:51It's supposed to be a hello cutie, but it's like a no,
- 3:56that's. That's the wrong pink.
- 3:58Yeah, yeah, it's it's a knockoff.
- 4:02But one day I will have the real hello cutie, mark my words.
- 4:08Okay, I'll mark that down are. You not excited about the?
- 4:13The Bat that I Made for You or on a.
- 4:16This bat is the best thing I've No, no, no, no.
- 4:19No. This bat is the best thing I've
- 4:21ever owned. But honestly, every time we
- 4:25fight I feel like we're shooting people.
- 4:29And like I've just never had a good weapon to shoot people.
- 4:33I I'm more, I do like to hit things more than I do like to to
- 4:37shoot things. But We're The Bat is great, is
- 4:42what I'm trying to say. That's my favorite.
- 4:44I need to get you in closer so you can hit people with.
- 4:47That bat, and I've been trying to make more of an effort of
- 4:51that with like the Shields and everything, and it does.
- 4:55Did you repair your shield? No, I've no, I haven't had the
- 4:59time yet. We've been really busy, like
- 5:02nonstop on the go. I've never been this busy in my
- 5:06life. We're earning money, though.
- 5:09This is true. We are.
- 5:13And that's what life is all about.
- 5:16Earning money capitalism. Yes, especially in Night City.
- 5:21I remember we had a checklist. What's on the checklist for us
- 5:24next to do? The checklist but Bill Domino
- 5:28body. That's next on the checklist for
- 5:31me. I feel like that is the
- 5:33equivalent. This is not Jim speaking, This
- 5:35is speaking that feels like when you start Breath of the Wild and
- 5:40it says kill Gannon and you're going.
- 5:43To go right to the castle right now.
- 5:49Well, that's, that's what I got on the to do.
- 5:52I think, I think we were going to find out information about
- 5:54where we could get the parts from Mr. Carrigan.
- 5:57Oh yeah. Right.
- 6:01Right. He had a cat.
- 6:04Yep, we saved it, right? Yes.
- 6:06I. Don't.
- 6:08No, no, we don't remember. I think that's the point, Jeff.
- 6:10Oh. OK, so we saved a cat that we
- 6:14don't remember and we're going back to see him.
- 6:18For what was that about a cat? No stranger?
- 6:22No. Just no.
- 6:24Stranger, thank God I haven't seen you in forever.
- 6:26Have you been? I'm.
- 6:28I'm alright. It's good to see you.
- 6:30Want some good catch? Yeah.
- 6:33Is it is getting catching up or down or?
- 6:36Yarn. No, I think I'll be fine.
- 6:39OK. Yeah, I didn't really want you
- 6:41to have to sound like a cat for the rest of today.
- 6:45Meow. You didn't even do anything.
- 6:49That's weird. Yeah, I know.
- 6:51I I I I think I need a drink. Is it?
- 6:54Is it bottomless mimosas still right now?
- 6:57Is it that early? No, it's not.
- 6:59Bottomless mimosas they do not. Happen till four.
- 7:02I've had a word. We think about this.
- 7:04I think it's sacrilegious. I mean, what time is it?
- 7:08Because I mean, I can't even tell by what the drink schedule
- 7:10is. It is 11:00 AM, Sir.
- 7:13Damn. And no mimosas yet.
- 7:15Geez. It's 11:00 AM on the dot.
- 7:18How did you do that? Is there a clock behind me?
- 7:21Well, he does have a computer for a head.
- 7:24No, not. No, I I'm the.
- 7:27One who said it. Was 11:00 o'clock, Jeff?
- 7:29Oh, you drunk. It's 11.
- 7:33Am my mistake? Jeff, you probably should have a
- 7:38drink. The.
- 7:39Dog and all that. Hair that I don't eat, Dog.
- 7:42If I could get an Irish coffin, I think that really kind of two
- 7:46birds once down. All right.
- 7:48Well. I guess I'll where's Pink?
- 7:52I I could not tell you. So I'm.
- 7:55I'm. I'm.
- 7:55Going to go get pain. Because.
- 7:58They don't like it when a pour drinks.
- 8:02So listen the on the list build domino body skin is important.
- 8:11Now I do need to bring up that we were just in a facility that
- 8:16fused machine and skin. We didn't.
- 8:20We didn't get any, though. We didn't.
- 8:22I think that doesn't. Take any out there.
- 8:25Right, yes, quite. What was the company that was
- 8:30responsible for the flesh and mechanical monstrosities?
- 8:38Bendel looks. I don't know.
- 8:44And and and. Bendel looks, I know, a bit
- 8:46longer to give you a look at. Do I make a joke about this?
- 8:49I mean, you could. Please do.
- 8:52Jeb. Your Mama.
- 8:56That was so good, Mendo. I had no idea what's going to
- 8:59come out of your mouth. Is that good?
- 9:01Did I do it? Sick burn, Jeb.
- 9:03So good. Unsure of what just happened,
- 9:06but I feel like I was the butt of the joke.
- 9:09Yes, Jeb, because it was Biotechnica and it said
- 9:11Biotechnica everywhere and you were there and you smelt it, You
- 9:14also ate it. You're not paying attention.
- 9:16Sometimes I drink too much and I forget things.
- 9:19That's my only excuse and I'll use it.
- 9:22From here on out. Anyway.
- 9:24What did you drink? Well, why don't we go back to, I
- 9:27mean if it's Biotechnica then why don't you, can't you look on
- 9:30some sort of file or? Or or the.
- 9:33Plants for the bio scanner. Back to the station.
- 9:38We're not the no, not the one that we're at because we.
- 9:41No, no, the satellite facility with all the samples.
- 9:45Oh, you mean Silo 74? Silo, thank you.
- 9:48I couldn't. I knew it started with an S.
- 9:50What's my job? I'm I'm here to help.
- 9:53I'm here to remind. OK, so we need a body, but we're
- 9:58focused on the skin right now before we even have.
- 10:01Skin is final step. I just had to I I just had to
- 10:06put it out there that eventually we could probably find skin.
- 10:10Do we have any sort of what do we have for this body they were
- 10:16making? We know about the parts we need,
- 10:19and we know where skin is, but that's about it.
- 10:21I mean we could also get, we could also get real skin that
- 10:25they have as cyber wear too. This is true.
- 10:28That is I. Think this tech probably needs
- 10:30the skin that I owned as referring to.
- 10:33The Biotechnica stuff. Yes, OK.
- 10:36Ping walks through the back. Hi, guys.
- 10:39Thank God Ping Jeb needs a drink.
- 10:42OK, Irish coffee. You got it.
- 10:44And Pink starts making a. Drink.
- 10:46It turns out that it doesn't function very well unless he's
- 10:49had a drink, you know. Is that a problem?
- 10:53Have we explored this? No.
- 10:55Technically it's not good for your health, but I won't get
- 10:58into the health. Technicality, Smish mentality.
- 11:02A Irish coffee is placed in front of you, John.
- 11:05Is that I can say I was recently addicted to send coke so.
- 11:09It was bad. It was bad.
- 11:12Did you guys get a ticket to Mr. Carrigan's?
- 11:14Yeah. No, I believe that I have to get
- 11:17one from Claire, but then I don't know about Claire.
- 11:20Have you have you been interacting with Claire?
- 11:23Is Claire doing okay? I've been keeping an eye on
- 11:26them. They're not great.
- 11:29I should really go check on Claire.
- 11:33Yeah, like a they're not in a good.
- 11:35Space. Yeah, yeah, they they haven't
- 11:39gone back to their apartment. They're too.
- 11:41I'm scared. Yeah, I should I should do an
- 11:46evaluation. Might be wise.
- 11:49Let's get you down there. Yeah, just just like the psych
- 11:54evals have never been my specialty.
- 11:59But you know what? It'll be fine.
- 12:03All right. Well, you know it it you're
- 12:05cheaper than sawtooth, so. That's true.
- 12:12We pinched Sawtooths like three times in the past week.
- 12:15The man is probably sick of us. Well, I mean, you know, that's
- 12:18normal because I own her in them are dating.
- 12:21Right. Yep, definitely.
- 12:27Yes, definitely. All right, I'll go check on
- 12:29Claire. So, Vivi, you head downstairs in
- 12:32one of their little side rooms underneath the bar.
- 12:34Even deeper underground in this bunker is Claire, playing
- 12:38solitaire. Just like a.
- 12:40Playing cards just. Playing cards on the.
- 12:43Tables. Okay in a room on a metal table.
- 12:47Okay in a room that has a sofa, but she's sitting at this metal
- 12:51table. I'll knock, knock.
- 12:55Hey, can I come in? Huh.
- 13:00Hi. Sure.
- 13:01Hi. Hi, baby.
- 13:03How's it going, Claire? Yeah, well, constant headaches
- 13:07and memory flashes. And the sevens always look like
- 13:12eights. Yeah, I well, I mean, I just
- 13:18wanted to kind of just check in on you and and see how you're
- 13:22doing. Well, did Ping say?
- 13:26Did Ping mention the screaming? No.
- 13:30Never mind. You know what, Why don't we
- 13:32start from the beginning? I know it's been we've been like
- 13:36really busy like this is. I've never been this busy before
- 13:41so it's it's it's a lot and so I'm.
- 13:43I'm sorry. I have you know, we haven't
- 13:45really checked in much but I wanted to start from the
- 13:48beginning. Like, how has it been since we
- 13:50last checked in? You said that you were having
- 13:53more of headaches. Has it been becoming worse?
- 13:57Tell me. Tell me everything.
- 13:59There's a lot of memories that have come back, but they're not
- 14:02in order, so I'm not really sure of the.
- 14:06Series of events behind me. I know that I remember being
- 14:12told to not go back and I'm not really sure why.
- 14:18Cannot go back. And then I haven't.
- 14:22I don't think I've seen Mr. Carrigan since then, but I'm not
- 14:26sure. And then I and then I remember
- 14:30like him being different. And and and then the cat, we had
- 14:36to put it in a box because it it kept scratching him.
- 14:40And then there's the headaches and all of the dead people.
- 14:44With dead people. Yeah, well, you work in Night
- 14:47City. You see a lot of death, yeah,
- 14:50but all the memories are really vivid now.
- 14:52You know how sometimes you get away from the memory and it gets
- 14:55like different. You know, that feeling of
- 14:57remember something, You remembered something yesterday
- 14:59and it's like really clear. Or you just woke up from a dream
- 15:01and you can really, really remember it.
- 15:03And then you forget it. Yeah, I haven't got to that bit
- 15:05yet, so I just remember everything like it was
- 15:08yesterday. Like it was a good dream.
- 15:10Yeah. You said screaming.
- 15:14What? What exactly has been the
- 15:17screaming? Pink says I scream when I sleep.
- 15:21So. OK.
- 15:23Have you been taking anything to help with this or have you just
- 15:27been kind of enduring? I remember the last time I gave
- 15:31you some stuff to help, but. That didn't work, so I've been
- 15:35drinking whiskey. Got a bottle?
- 15:38Jeez. Oh, nice.
- 15:43Wicked. Yeah, maybe I can get you some
- 15:47more drugs. The good stuff that'll help with
- 15:50the painful dreams and memories and.
- 15:53I have a BD implant I hope that can be used for therapy.
- 15:57Yeah, actually I could get you some.
- 15:59I got the context. Some nice soothing brain dances
- 16:04that'll that'll help some. Maybe some deer out in the
- 16:08field. Something peaceful, relaxing.
- 16:12Yeah, just animals. Something.
- 16:15NOT like. No.
- 16:18Well, maybe out by the water. The running river.
- 16:24Beautiful green. We'll get you something more.
- 16:27Yeah. Well, that, that, that was.
- 16:31Nice talk about stuff. Yeah, I.
- 16:35Think it's good that you're talking about this and I am here
- 16:39to listen always. And I'm going to check in on you
- 16:42more and make sure you're OK. I'm sorry this has been so
- 16:46painful for you. She places her other hand on top
- 16:49of the table and scratches her wrist, and as the sleeve pulls
- 16:52up, you can see that her knuckles on her left hand are
- 16:55bloody. Oh boy.
- 16:56Yeah, she's not. She's not doing well.
- 16:59Is that? Another side effect, Have you
- 17:03been punching things or? Yeah, put a dent in the dumpster
- 17:08Outback. Maybe we find ways to get that
- 17:13aggression out to Maybe we can get you some karate or
- 17:15kickboxing classes or something. Oh, that'd be nice, Yeah.
- 17:19Just. These little things I think will
- 17:21help you physically, mentally everything.
- 17:24Thanks, baby. Yeah, whatever.
- 17:27Do you guys still going to go boss my apartment?
- 17:29Yeah. We.
- 17:30We probably are going to do that.
- 17:32Could you could you do me a favor?
- 17:35Sure. It's going to sound stupid.
- 17:38It's dumb. Don't worry about it.
- 17:39Never mind. No, no, no what?
- 17:41What can we do to help? Could you bring me my blanket?
- 17:44Yeah, yeah. My dad gave it to me and I just
- 17:46want it back of. Course, thanks.
- 17:49All right, I'm going to. I'm going to work on getting
- 17:51that stuff for you. Just like when I was a kid,
- 17:54that's it's a memory that's like come back since everything with
- 17:58Iona in them. Fucking pill and the screaming,
- 18:00yeah. But I remember holding that when
- 18:04my dad had to go to work and it always smelled like him.
- 18:07So I'd. I'd like it.
- 18:08I'd like it back, please. Of course I having things like
- 18:15that. It's it's nice I I have this
- 18:21necklace that my mom gave to me and I still wear it.
- 18:27Because it's just kind of nice to have something.
- 18:29Well, it's cute. Is that gold?
- 18:31Yeah, it's a little. It's a little heart.
- 18:33Isn't it cute? That's really nice, yeah.
- 18:36I I'll make sure to get that for you.
- 18:40It's under the bed. I folded it.
- 18:42That's where I keep it at night. I just didn't grab it.
- 18:47I've got it. Nice baby.
- 18:48Of course. I actually do feel slightly
- 18:52better, like in a I've gone to therapy mechanics kind of way.
- 18:57We roll. Yes, first aid for the mind.
- 19:03So. 18 Claire's had a chance to talk about their feelings with a
- 19:08medical professional, and for this, as a medical professional,
- 19:13even with your limited work, with people with sort of need
- 19:18for therapy, you can tell. That her asking you to get her
- 19:22blanket is a big step because she is addressing memories and
- 19:26that's really good for processing her like grief that
- 19:30she's got. So you've helped her out by a
- 19:32decent amount and she's on the mend, so well done.
- 19:36Good. I'll.
- 19:39Catch you later Claire. We'll okay.
- 19:41We'll be back in a bit to check on you all.
- 19:44Right Iona has my dual code. So great I'll.
- 19:48Make sure to get that and I don't know when we're going to
- 19:52go. We'll probably go soon and I'll
- 19:55make sure to get that for you. Thanks.
- 19:59Hey, VV. Yeah.
- 20:02Thanks for checking on me I I remember a lot and not many
- 20:08people ever have. Thanks.
- 20:11Anytime, Claire. Hey, no Latency listeners, It's
- 20:22Spoon. I played Jeb here on No Latency,
- 20:24but I also produced the brand new show System Switch, and it's
- 20:27called System Switch because every few episodes we take our
- 20:30same beloved characters and throw them into a completely new
- 20:34universe in the form of a new role-playing game.
- 20:37We'll go from steampunk to cyberpunk, from fantasy to
- 20:40scifi, from romantic comedy to dark comedy, from D&D to Call of
- 20:44Cthulu and everything in between.
- 20:47So join us on our romp through the multiverse by searching for
- 20:50System Switch on your favorite podcasting app.
- 21:01Hey, guys. Hi.
- 21:07Are we we should? Probably go to Claire's place
- 21:12sometime like soon if possible. We're not doing anything now,
- 21:19right? Yeah.
- 21:21Just a drink and. How many, How many Irish coffees
- 21:26did you have, Jeb since I was downstairs?
- 21:29Well the first the first one was just to wake up, so I was mostly
- 21:33coffee with a little bit of Irish and the the second one was
- 21:37mostly Irish with just a little bit of coffee.
- 21:41But then I had the third one to make them like even across the
- 21:44board. And did.
- 21:46You serve yourself again, Jeb? Ping is giving you death eyes.
- 21:51Oh, well, I saw there the. I saw that the whiskey was right
- 21:56was right there. Or the the what?
- 21:58What were you, Jeb? Relevation.
- 22:02Jeb. Relevation.
- 22:04Evasion. Relevation.
- 22:07You're about to get oh boy. You are.
- 22:10You had three drinks. You said this is minus 3. 13.
- 22:15At the minus 3. 1313 is not enough.
- 22:19Ping slaps you across the face. Oh.
- 22:24Deb, don't you ever put. Your arm behind my bar ever
- 22:28again. I mean, I thought that was just
- 22:30kind of like a, you know, suggestion.
- 22:34No. You order drinks.
- 22:36I will bring them to you. I make them to fool you for
- 22:38free. I was trying to, you know, light
- 22:42the load. Right in the load.
- 22:44You're the only people in here, Jeb.
- 22:49Yep, I think you're pretty loaded right now.
- 22:52We should step out. We should definitely just go to
- 22:57Claire's apartment, right? Jeb like stumbles out of the out
- 23:01of the off the seat like yeah, I'll be right behind you.
- 23:06I'm just want Yeah, I'm right right behind you.
- 23:10Do we have any Alco Seltzer? I'll check my bag here.
- 23:17Let's roll a D10, shall we? Yeah. 50 wills I roll out.
- 23:25I also rolled A5 that's. Crazy.
- 23:28I'm going to say that's yes. Then that's a yes.
- 23:29Yeah, we both matched. Yeah, you find some in the very
- 23:32bottom of your bag, but it's crushed.
- 23:34Put this in some water. The only thing I can.
- 23:38Handle. Myself as I am, how?
- 23:41Many fingers am I holding up? 4/4 yeah.
- 23:45Yeah. That's that's a three Jeb.
- 23:48That's look 1/2. No, because the thumb doesn't
- 23:52count as a finger. It's not.
- 23:54It's not a thumb, dude. There are only three.
- 23:56Never mind. Drink this.
- 23:58Drink this. Jeb.
- 23:59Jeb, drink this. It's fizzy and nice.
- 24:02I know what you're doing. I'll appreciate it.
- 24:05I happen to feel real good right now.
- 24:07And Jeb, the Alco seltzer. That starts to fizz through your
- 24:11nasal capacity, giving you the sensation of needing to sneeze,
- 24:14but never giving you the satisfaction of actually
- 24:16sneezing hold. On I'm gonna sneeze I.
- 24:20Hate that? Oh my.
- 24:22God, I can't do it. That's a side effect of the
- 24:24product. Stare at the light.
- 24:26Stare at the light. Look at it.
- 24:28Look at it. Sneeze.
- 24:30My eyes. Just perfect sunlight on that
- 24:40right there. What?
- 24:42What? What?
- 24:43Do you need to? Do.
- 24:45I was thinking maybe we could just take a trip to Claire's
- 24:49because we haven't, you know, been to their place and they
- 24:54haven't been to their. I mean, I think Claire should
- 24:57stay put, but. Oh yeah, definitely.
- 24:59We we just kind of checked the place out because it's been a
- 25:02while, don't they have? The.
- 25:05Ticket there that we need. Correct.
- 25:08Yes. Is that is that Claire's place?
- 25:12Well, Claire is Mr. Kerrigan's assistant.
- 25:15Oh, well, that OK. I didn't know.
- 25:18Is that or? Yeah.
- 25:19OK you. Did know that, I think.
- 25:20OK, I forgot. Yeah, so we have to go there
- 25:24anyway. So we should, we should do that
- 25:28today. That sounds like an easy
- 25:30mission. Good.
- 25:32Famous last words let's. Go, you guys happy?
- 25:35Because now I feel like shit. Sober as hell, and I feel like
- 25:39she. Jeb, I'm not being funny.
- 25:42One of the reasons why you feel sober as hell is because your
- 25:44body has an incredible metabolism right now because you
- 25:47eat turrets and flesh. And was there a point there?
- 25:53No, it's just pointing out the science.
- 25:57Jeb, I'm gonna put my arm around Jeb as I lead them out towards
- 25:59the Vanna White. The thing is, it's like your
- 26:02body is going through changes right now, All right?
- 26:05We all go through them at some point in our life, right?
- 26:09And The thing is, is that there's this really, like,
- 26:11strange tickle. And I know things feel strange.
- 26:14Everybody gets in the van and you.
- 26:16The elevator takes you up and you drive out into Night City
- 26:19towards Claire's apartment. And yeah, that's pretty much why
- 26:23our bodies go through that job. And so the the, the regrowing of
- 26:28limbs has. And else under do with that.
- 26:31Absolutely nothing to do with it, but I feel like it's a good
- 26:34enough analogy that potentially it can help you in some kind of
- 26:39way. I think, because I can't think
- 26:41of anything else to do with that.
- 26:46It's like trying to explain why Magic Eye works like it doesn't
- 26:49and people lie and say that it does.
- 26:52And we're there. Yeah, if you were there.
- 26:55I'm I'm telling you, Jeff, Magic Eye doesn't work.
- 26:56People say they can look at the the book and like see a picture
- 27:00by crossing their eyes and they're lying.
- 27:02It's impossible. You can't do it.
- 27:04Well, we both know that's not true, but I could see it looks
- 27:07like a little 3 dimensional picture.
- 27:10You know you're lying to me. You can't do it.
- 27:11It's impossible. You can't do that.
- 27:12No, it's true. You just kind of have to wait
- 27:14and see the the the. The trick you see is to focus on
- 27:18a point that's behind the book, which is admittedly difficult
- 27:23considering that the book is in fact in front of you.
- 27:27But you're going to want to focus on a point behind it if
- 27:31you can. Can you cross your eyes?
- 27:33Jeff I have a camera for an eye. That's all I have.
- 27:36So. I know you're lying.
- 27:38You can't do that. It's impossible to do that.
- 27:41We've been sitting outside of Claire's apartment for 5-10
- 27:45minutes now. Do we do we want to go in or?
- 27:48Well, this is an important conversation that we're having
- 27:50about magic. Eye.
- 27:52Sometimes you just need to let them talk.
- 27:54It out. All right.
- 27:58I'll just. I'll wait then for.
- 28:01Another 20 minutes we. Can get out of it.
- 28:03Yes, they can join us in a minute all.
- 28:08Right. I guess I'll just.
- 28:09Jeb, don't forget to park. Don't forget to pull the parking
- 28:12brake. And you guys get out and you
- 28:16walk. Into.
- 28:17Claire lives high up in this building, so you walk into the
- 28:20lobby with Jeb and Retro still talking about Magic behind you,
- 28:24and there's an elevator in front of you to take you up to
- 28:27Claire's. Like, it's just a bunch of snow.
- 28:30It's a fuzzy picture, man. All right, look at it.
- 28:35I think, Iona, you have the the Yes I do to get in.
- 28:40Should we get in the? Elevator store code, Yes, yes,
- 28:43of course. Up we go.
- 28:45All right, you guys all get in the elevator, The door closes.
- 28:56Oh, it's new elevator music. That's nice.
- 28:59Oh, this is this is a vibe is this?
- 29:02The new DJ calls. I feel like I should be burning
- 29:06more calories. That is funny.
- 29:08This is good. Well, this is a really long
- 29:10elevator, right? This is a really tall building.
- 29:13It's a very tall. Building there's way up there.
- 29:17You know, no one should back to the apartment for a bit, right?
- 29:22Correct. That is correct.
- 29:25I went back to my apartment a couple of times.
- 29:27No Claire Claire's apartment. Yeah, this is not an apartment.
- 29:32Yes. I don't remember.
- 29:35Wait, we've been here before? Yeah.
- 29:40DJ, Qualls, DJ. Qualls.
- 29:44The song is just so distracting. So good.
- 29:48I know. I don't want to talk over it.
- 29:50It's a straight up, Bob, you know.
- 29:55You know, I I hear that DJ Qualls got like a.
- 30:00A contract to do a bunch of elevator music across Night
- 30:03City. Makes sense, I mean.
- 30:06It's a lot of elevators. There's a lot of elevators in
- 30:10that city. It's a prime music spot.
- 30:12Because you're a captive audience.
- 30:15Yeah. As you can tell by us previously
- 30:21being a captive audience there. Yeah, they started the day
- 30:27recorded you when you. To the elevator rats.
- 30:31What do you mean? Yeah, I'm.
- 30:35I'm confused what you're talking about, Jeff.
- 30:36I don't remember what you're saying.
- 30:37And the elevator comes up to the top floor.
- 30:40That's so Vivi. Was there anything that Claire
- 30:44needed us to grab? She did ask for a sentimental
- 30:52item, something I think that'll help comfort her a bit.
- 30:56So I'm going to grab that. She told me where it was.
- 31:01By the way, Claire's not doing well.
- 31:06Yeah, I I I didn't expect them to get better instantly or
- 31:10anything, But it doesn't look like the condition is improving.
- 31:14The memories seem to be more vivid and they're handling it
- 31:18not not the best. So.
- 31:23Do we think that it will eventually?
- 31:26Subside. I'm not sure we're going to try
- 31:30some techniques and things to help.
- 31:34Kind of be a bit of an outlet, like some therapeutic brain
- 31:38dances, some maybe kickboxing or, you know, fitness classes to
- 31:45help off some steam because she has been punching.
- 31:50Dumpsters and crying out and rage.
- 31:54So maybe a way to kind of express that anger in a
- 31:57different outlet is usually does help that.
- 32:01Sounds like it might helpful, yeah?
- 32:02Yeah. So we're going to try with that
- 32:05first and hopefully it helps. But if it doesn't, then we may
- 32:09need to think about the next steps, which I'm not quite sure
- 32:12what those are yet, but we need to think about the next steps.
- 32:16I was going to say taking a sawtoo.
- 32:17Sawtoo has been doing my therapy, so.
- 32:20And also, like, maybe a retreat, some rehab.
- 32:24Yeah, yeah, I think that might be an option.
- 32:29But right now, yeah, I don't want to displace her too much.
- 32:34So yeah, we'll see if this helps, but hopefully I'm going
- 32:39to get this item for for her. It's something that her dad gave
- 32:43to her some time ago, so might help her feel better.
- 32:50Yeah, yeah, yeah, I kind of feel bad.
- 32:53We should, we should check on her more.
- 32:55Yeah, When was the last time we did something for someone that
- 32:59wasn't out of, you know, making us money or otherwise furthering
- 33:07our personal causes? Didn't we just go to space for
- 33:11Domino? Yeah, but we got paid.
- 33:13We did. I don't remember that.
- 33:17You were very high. You know it is, it's, it's Night
- 33:25City and everybody's out for themselves, so.
- 33:28That's. Not necessarily true.
- 33:32You and I helped Jeb out in in finding his girl, Remember.
- 33:37I remember that. Retro he Jeb also paid us so.
- 33:44It was You guys were expensive. Yeah, I I was going to say I
- 33:49helped my exboyfriend Chad, but I also got paid for that too.
- 33:55And. Yeah, you stole the book.
- 33:56That was fun. That was fun, using that in the
- 33:58desert. Yeah, yeah, I I I took it as
- 34:03payment for helping him. You guys, You guys still You
- 34:07guys still a thing or? No, no, he was really like a one
- 34:11off thing and then he kind of was a little clingy after, so I
- 34:16just. I kept them around.
- 34:17Just just. For the hoverboard, I understand
- 34:21makes sense. To me, very nice city to just
- 34:23use people. That's not.
- 34:24I like that, yeah. You know, but you know, Jeb does
- 34:28bring up a good point. We haven't really done anything
- 34:30nice for a person just to be nice.
- 34:33So, you know, maybe helping Claire is a good thing.
- 34:37It's. Hard when people keep offering
- 34:39to pay for the things that you do.
- 34:43Now here says just the society that we live in.
- 34:45We're just very wanted, which is a good thing.
- 34:49Yeah, we've also never turned down the money.
- 34:51Yeah, sometimes we do things and then people just give us money
- 34:54afterwards. Didn't ask for it.
- 34:57No, I didn't ask for this. What?
- 35:01Huh. Well, then maybe this time we'll
- 35:05do it for 50% off. It's like a coupon, but it's for
- 35:11goodwill. I don't think Claire has any
- 35:13money, but OK. So we're doing this pro bono.
- 35:16I guess. It's a good thing we had this
- 35:18whole conversation before we got to her place.
- 35:21Now we know that we can just accept it no matter what it is.
- 35:25A good thing, and this is our one thing for the next decade
- 35:28that we do that's nice and free. So there we go.
- 35:30Yeah, we're good people. Very good people.
- 35:34We are. Let's go in.
- 35:36We're a little bit funny. Sorry all.
- 35:41Right. Jeb, breaching clear, quietly
- 35:45turn nonviolently. Why?
- 35:47Why are we preaching? There's no one here to breach
- 35:50and. Clear Claire's place.
- 35:52We could though. For fun.
- 35:55For fun. Just don't break the door down
- 35:58or anything like that. Yeah, that's why, I said,
- 36:00quietly and nonviolently. Fine, go ahead and breach and
- 36:05clear. Yes, breach clear.
- 36:14We'll go to the door, have our own to type in the the keypad
- 36:17code. I type in the door code.
- 36:21Let me in. That's a fun door code.
- 36:23Let me in. I like that.
- 36:26Let me in. The door unlocks, but you have
- 36:28not opened it yet. All right, if you would like to
- 36:31preach and clear, now is your time.
- 36:33Jeb, you go left, I go right. Amen, brother. 3/2.
- 36:38Oh no, pretty clear. As you open the door.
- 36:41Oh. No, Inside are two heavily
- 36:46armored dudes with guns, and they're standing in the room
- 36:50looking around, and they turn and look at you.
- 36:53What the fuck are you doing in here?
- 36:55Pretty clear, pretty clear. Pretty clear Wait, boss.
- 37:04And you hear you hear a lot from the other room.
- 37:07The bathroom door opens, and there in the doorway is Walker.
- 37:12Oh, hi, everyone. You know, I was looking for you.
- 37:18And it is incredibly lovely of you to all just walk in to right
- 37:22where I am. Nice to see you again.
- 37:25It's one liner. Oh, I had no idea who this was.
- 37:34You didn't know who I am? It was the guy that just did all
- 37:37the one liners. Yeah.
- 37:40The one liner guy. I have a name.
- 37:44Yeah, it's one liner. No, it's not one liner.
- 37:47I'm Walker. Walker one liner.
- 37:52I I I will, I am. I am an advanced AI and I'm
- 37:57going to fuck you up. Do you understand?
- 38:01Sure. Are you one step closer to the
- 38:04edge? Just just just.
- 38:10Well, we're waiting for your one liner.
- 38:12I don't know. I don't know you came to this
- 38:14Apt. I didn't know you were going to
- 38:16be here. We're just trying to find this
- 38:17fucking Clairol person. Well.
- 38:21Why do you need Claire? Dad is.
- 38:25I'm not going to fall for that. That's smart.
- 38:26I I almost said things. And it goes to them that
- 38:30happened. Boys lock and load.
- 38:34Oh, there it is. What?
- 38:38The one liner. Lock and load.
- 38:41Classic. Yeah.
- 38:43I'm not going to tell you that it was a good one liner, but it
- 38:46was a one liner. It's a cliche for sure, but it's
- 38:50something that's a staple. Here, do you see what you got to
- 38:53do is you got to incorporate the environment or the people that
- 38:57are in the room. You got to have it be pertinent
- 39:01to the exact situation that you're in currently.
- 39:05So for instance, there's a nice rug in this room.
- 39:08You could say something like I'm about to pull the rug out from
- 39:11under you. Or you could say you're not
- 39:14walking out of here. That's pretty good.
- 39:18I tell you what I will say. And you're going to listen to me
- 39:24roll for initiative? Oh oh, do you play those games
- 39:30as well? Are you one of them?
- 39:43Next time on no latency. That one's pretty good.
- 39:50See, that was a good one as far as your one liners ago, you're
- 39:53getting better. Well, let's shoot them, Jeb.
- 39:55Horton to understand that Magic Eye is bullshit.
- 39:57Nice. Work Iona.
- 39:59Try this out for size. You're doing great, Jeb.
- 40:01You just got shot. It's OK.
- 40:03See, he's forcing it now. See Vandell.
- 40:05The training is paying off. Leg injuries?
- 40:07Broken legs. The worst to recover from?
- 40:10Just saying. You're almost there, Walker.
- 40:13Honestly, I really thought you had that one.
- 40:15Shush, shush, shush you Just be quiet and die.
- 40:19Die gently. Make my day.
- 40:22Have we not encountered enough creepy animals like in the past?
- 40:26I mean it's it's alright, It's pretty funny.
- 40:29I I'm expecting you to not say anything because I'm strangling
- 40:32you that. Was a test new past I.
- 40:34Mean. To be fair, they shot us first.
- 40:37But we were talking about doing good things and I think not
- 40:39killing everyone we come across might be it.
