- 3:30Speaker 1: the money making conversations. Attorney Benjamin Crump, Good morning, Rashan McDonald.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So happy to be here with the mentor, Sir. I
- 3:40Speaker 1: like when you come a big brother, big brother, absolutely man,
- 3:45Speaker 1: you big brother the many people. And I think with
- 3:48Speaker 1: this show, you're gonna get a lot more little brothers.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Thank you, and sisters and susters that its sisters. Wait,
- 3:56Speaker 1: I'm glad you took the time. I know your scheduled busy,
- 3:58Speaker 1: and I called you personally to be on my premier show. Um,
- 4:01Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about a lot of things, and I
- 4:03Speaker 1: want to talk about a side that people kind of
- 4:06Speaker 1: don't know, the pro bono side of you. You know,
- 4:08Speaker 1: when you know everything is not about a check when
- 4:11Speaker 1: it comes to you trying to not only change the
- 4:14Speaker 1: wrongs in society on the daily basis, because you called
- 4:18Speaker 1: me one day late in the afternoons there used the
- 4:20Speaker 1: big brother Rashan, I'm I'm in Atlanta, I'm dying, I'm
- 4:24Speaker 1: in Georgia. I said, well, come up by the house.
- 4:25Speaker 1: You said, no, no, no, I got a big deal.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Tell everybody about the situation that happens with the cemetery
- 4:31Speaker 1: where black people can only be buried on one side
- 4:34Speaker 1: of the fence and white people can only be buried
- 4:36Speaker 1: on the other side of the face. Let us know absolutely,
- 4:40Speaker 1: Reshine and the mottel for the firm is justice sequels respect.
- 4:44Speaker 1: And that's what it really is about, trying to make
- 4:47Speaker 1: sure we respect my own lives in America and in Cammilla, Georgia,
- 4:52Speaker 1: where the population is African American white. Uh, they're their
- 4:59Speaker 1: first African American man to be mayor of the city,
- 5:04Speaker 1: first black mayor, and he and about forty other citizens
- 5:09Speaker 1: called to retain my services because they wanted to desegregate
- 5:15Speaker 1: the city of Camilla. That for no matter how many population,
- 5:23Speaker 1: how many demographics show that blacks should have a stake
- 5:28Speaker 1: in what happens in the city. The white minority ruling
- 5:32Speaker 1: class continued to treat the black is under class citizens.
- 5:36Speaker 1: In every week there were no black fireman, no black
- 5:40Speaker 1: police officers. They were only three black city employees. That
- 5:44Speaker 1: was one was a ganitor, the other was a trash collector,
- 5:47Speaker 1: and one was a city clerk. And they had a
- 5:50Speaker 1: segregated cemetery Sean McDonald, which was shocking to me that
- 5:55Speaker 1: they had a segregated city on cemetery where black people
- 5:59Speaker 1: could not be buried. There's the white people. They had
- 6:02Speaker 1: a fence where one side of the cemetery was well maintained,
- 6:06Speaker 1: where a culture everything with documented aka proper respect to
- 6:11Speaker 1: their loved ones and their memories. And then on the
- 6:14Speaker 1: other side of the fence they didn't maintain it at all.
- 6:17Speaker 1: It was when they buried black new records. I mean
- 6:21Speaker 1: in two thousands, seventeen and eighteen, we still have this
- 6:26Speaker 1: ignorance that says Rashan, even the spirits can't be integrated.
- 6:31Speaker 1: The dead people gotta be separate. So so so when
- 6:35Speaker 1: you get a case like that, you said, all these
- 6:37Speaker 1: people call it's a pro bone on cage, which a
- 6:40Speaker 1: lot of people on that they don't know that beans free.
- 6:42Speaker 1: That means you weren't pay for that, but with a
- 6:44Speaker 1: miss your business schedule because you you you flew down
- 6:47Speaker 1: there on your own dime. You flew you took care
- 6:49Speaker 1: of the whole situation. It's not It's something that goes
- 6:52Speaker 1: into your on your on your court schedule, on your schedule.
- 6:56Speaker 1: How do you balance that, the balance your law firm,
- 6:59Speaker 1: the TV show, old the books. How are you balancing that? Ben?
- 7:04Speaker 1: You know a lot of times I talked with you
- 7:06Speaker 1: big brothers that he don't tell them no secrets. Don't
- 7:10Speaker 1: tell your secrets. But you have to keep everythinking perspect
- 7:14Speaker 1: to being on this. Have to understand at least I
- 7:17Speaker 1: have a more compass that tells me, uh, the blessings
- 7:21Speaker 1: that God gave us this, this legal education, then decrease
- 7:26Speaker 1: these talents. We have to use it for more than
- 7:29Speaker 1: just the benefit of ourselves. That you know, success is
- 7:33Speaker 1: measured in different ways, and it's not always just about um,
- 7:37Speaker 1: you know, financial success. Some of it and a lot
- 7:40Speaker 1: of it is about what we can do to help
- 7:43Speaker 1: up theft for other people, even when you don't have
- 7:45Speaker 1: anything to benefit from it. Because you know, your blessings
- 7:49Speaker 1: has been a blessings to other and if nobody else
- 7:51Speaker 1: is watching, God is watching, and so rich And when
- 7:55Speaker 1: I thought about this case, I really thought this here
- 7:58Speaker 1: I thought the city leader is in Camilla, Georgia, who
- 8:01Speaker 1: were worried about that when they died, they would be
- 8:04Speaker 1: buried next to a black person, as if there was
- 8:08Speaker 1: a white heaven or a black heaven, was gonna find
- 8:11Speaker 1: themselves in an integrated hell. And that's the message I
- 8:16Speaker 1: wanted to convey to America. Using a lot of the
- 8:18Speaker 1: techniques that we've worked on together. It became a trend
- 8:22Speaker 1: in national story and I'm so excited to announce that
- 8:26Speaker 1: for the first time a shine in eighty five years.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I mean, this is a historic victory. We saw that
- 8:32Speaker 1: fence of segregation and racism taken down. And the last
- 8:36Speaker 1: thing I said about it, yeah, it was it was
- 8:40Speaker 1: profound because there was a seventy two year old black
- 8:43Speaker 1: woman who had been an activist or her life born
- 8:45Speaker 1: in Camella. When I went out to Semessary the first
- 8:48Speaker 1: time to sit because I just didn't believe it. Nobody
- 8:51Speaker 1: believes that. The people from the New York Times in Atlanta,
- 8:53Speaker 1: Joana Constitution didn't believe. You had to go see this
- 8:56Speaker 1: fence separating the cemetery. It wasn't a big fence, it
- 9:00Speaker 1: was a cheap looking fence. I saw it yeah, I mean, unbelievable,
- 9:04Speaker 1: But it was just that symbol, that symbol that you
- 9:08Speaker 1: can't come over here, you can't do this, even if
- 9:12Speaker 1: your loved ones, you can't reach this ground. This ground
- 9:15Speaker 1: is different. We're gonna treat it different, We're gonna manicure
- 9:17Speaker 1: it different. You're better than us even in death, you know.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And that's really the symbol you're trying to destroy. Yep.
- 9:25Speaker 1: And Gwen Thomas phraise that in her lifetime, she han't
- 9:29Speaker 1: see that fence come down. And I was so proud
- 9:32Speaker 1: to look at that old black woman's face when she said,
- 9:36Speaker 1: we defeated Jim Crow, We defeated you, we defeated segregation.
- 9:42Speaker 1: And so she said, now that we have got this
- 9:45Speaker 1: phylical fensive segregation down to Turning Crow, we got to
- 9:48Speaker 1: work on bringing down these invisible fences and segregation to
- 9:52Speaker 1: make all the children and Camilla have a chance at
- 9:55Speaker 1: the American dream. And that the shift over to the
- 9:57Speaker 1: entrepreneur side of Mr Crow, the law firm side, because
- 10:02Speaker 1: you're your personality, not because you know you just recently
- 10:05Speaker 1: hosted the in these very popular special TUPAC and a
- 10:09Speaker 1: Biggie Special investigative series, and US made a cameo in
- 10:13Speaker 1: the movie Marshall. But uh, but that that's a personality side,
- 10:17Speaker 1: but the entrepreneurship side. Taking your law firm from a
- 10:20Speaker 1: local office in Tallahassee, Florida to a national platform, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: one of the first officers that you opened was in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Tell us exactly because you're known as an in the
- 10:31Speaker 1: national platform, you know for civil rights. This is not
- 10:34Speaker 1: a civil rights uh guided law firm. This is about
- 10:39Speaker 1: an injustice in a different form. What explained to us absolutely,
- 10:43Speaker 1: and thank you for getting me tracking because I don't
- 10:49Speaker 1: want Yagan mad at me. I don't want your Morgan
- 10:52Speaker 1: mad at me. And you have to make money to
- 10:55Speaker 1: try to do good things, uh help race acide of
- 11:00Speaker 1: the big law firm. Uh. One of our first offices
- 11:04Speaker 1: in the Atlanta, Georgia. We also have office opening in
- 11:08Speaker 1: Los Angeles, California. We will be headquartered in Washington, d C.
- 11:13Speaker 1: And we have offices in Florida, Uh, Memfis, Tennessee, and Jackson, Mississippi.
- 11:18Speaker 1: But Atlanta was important, uh to be that first office
- 11:22Speaker 1: because Atlanta represents to many in America the black Merca
- 11:28Speaker 1: for black people in America. So you wanted to make
- 11:31Speaker 1: share and there's so many success stories out of Atlanta, Jarsia,
- 11:35Speaker 1: and uh, you know you were falling a trail that
- 11:38Speaker 1: had been blows and so we're doing a person who
- 11:41Speaker 1: wro't with Deluth's all those things that try to but
- 11:47Speaker 1: you do good. It's a super rights but all so, bib,
- 11:51Speaker 1: what does happen? Gonna go to commercial break on the backside,
- 11:53Speaker 1: We're gonna finish because I really want the detail information
- 11:56Speaker 1: about the law firm. Get that that number and everything,
- 11:59Speaker 1: because that's impressed, said man. The last person who attempted
- 12:01Speaker 1: this was Attorney Journey Carckrew. We'll be right back with
- 12:04Speaker 1: more Attorney Benjamin Crump on Money Making Conversations. We'll be
- 12:11Speaker 1: right back from Rajan McDonald and Money Welcome back this
- 12:16Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald your host the Money Making Conversations I have
- 12:19Speaker 1: on the line. Good friend, big little brother, Attorney Benjamin Crump.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Before we left, he was talking and he was breaking
- 12:28Speaker 1: down the launch of your national law firm out of Atlanta, Georgia.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Please tell us again reiterate put you why Atlanta was
- 12:36Speaker 1: significant and also give us the background on some of
- 12:38Speaker 1: the other officers locations that are opening around the country. Yes, sir,
- 12:44Speaker 1: and Rashin, you know you put me on TV's first.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Now I'm doing a lot of promotions of these law
- 12:50Speaker 1: firms on TV. So they're gonna see commercials with the
- 12:53Speaker 1: ben Crump Law Firm and UH office in Atlanta, Gara,
- 12:57Speaker 1: Los Angeles, California, UH at Washington, d C. Jackson, Mississippi, Memphis, Tennessee, Miami, Florida.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Because like my personal hero third Good Marsha, you want
- 13:09Speaker 1: to be able to use your voice to try to
- 13:12Speaker 1: make a difference, not just in communities where you're at,
- 13:16Speaker 1: but use that influence that God bless you will fall
- 13:19Speaker 1: around America and try to make it better for all
- 13:23Speaker 1: our children. And so we're gonna not just be doing
- 13:25Speaker 1: civil rights work, but we're doing a lot of UH
- 13:29Speaker 1: legal matters that can impact your family directly, whether the
- 13:34Speaker 1: personal injury walks, but their UH Malcolm Powder with a
- 13:38Speaker 1: lot of black women, A high percentage of black women
- 13:42Speaker 1: are getting no varying cancer from Talcolm Powder than white women.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And so we're doing that class action work, that important
- 13:48Speaker 1: work that can really make a difference specifically to your family.
- 13:53Speaker 1: And so that's why we want you to call the
- 13:54Speaker 1: bankrupt Law firm at eight hundred eight five nine nine beaus.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Justice really does equal respect, and it's about making them
- 14:04Speaker 1: respect you as a citizen and as a person. And
- 14:08Speaker 1: that's why we're fighting to do all these things on
- 14:11Speaker 1: a whole uh large scale, national scale, and that's really important.
- 14:16Speaker 1: And so so you have a brand, and your brand
- 14:19Speaker 1: was brought out by the infamous Trayvonn Martin case. Now
- 14:23Speaker 1: there's a big Trayvonn Martin project that's a coming up
- 14:26Speaker 1: of this this spring. Please tell us about that. Yeah,
- 14:30Speaker 1: jay Z is the executive producer if Trayvon Martin Rest
- 14:34Speaker 1: in Power. It's going to be on Paramount Television and
- 14:38Speaker 1: it's gonna be a four part docuseries. His parents, Trade
- 14:42Speaker 1: and Sabrina are making sure that tray Bons Magazine has
- 14:47Speaker 1: never forgotten. There's gonna be all the Wed movie coming
- 14:51Speaker 1: after that there. But it's an important story because you know,
- 14:55Speaker 1: if all our children can potentially be traybone walking home
- 14:58Speaker 1: and targeted, uh, you know, a racist person who don't
- 15:03Speaker 1: see our children as children. Well, we just talked about
- 15:07Speaker 1: the story that people did want, you know, minorities being
- 15:10Speaker 1: the grave site or share the same ground, the same
- 15:14Speaker 1: side of the ground, so we know racism isn't over.
- 15:17Speaker 1: But sometimes because of we see success, we see television commercials,
- 15:22Speaker 1: or you see strong assimilation, you see movies, you see
- 15:25Speaker 1: inter racial relationships. Racism is still here. It was shown
- 15:30Speaker 1: recently in Virginia. Well, your protester was run down by
- 15:35Speaker 1: a person who had, uh, you know, racist behavior. So
- 15:38Speaker 1: when you talk about all these things and that launched
- 15:41Speaker 1: you into the mainstream, your your brand, your bars, I've
- 15:44Speaker 1: been with your The airport people stop you, they pray
- 15:46Speaker 1: for you. That's a lot of that's a lot of
- 15:49Speaker 1: stuff that's that's hung on your shoulders. How do you
- 15:52Speaker 1: deal with the expectations you know of saying that you
- 15:55Speaker 1: are a deliverer of good, a deliver of the righteous,
- 15:59Speaker 1: equal lines in the wrong. How do you how do
- 16:01Speaker 1: you overcome that? You know, Rashan, you try as best
- 16:05Speaker 1: you can to say, God, I'm standing as you would
- 16:09Speaker 1: have me stand. And that's what you have to do.
- 16:12Speaker 1: First and foremost. You have to have the courage to stand.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Just like you know, when we were talking about television,
- 16:17Speaker 1: he said, hey, your brand is growing. You have to
- 16:20Speaker 1: have the courage to take that next step. I think
- 16:24Speaker 1: about evidence of innocence. You know the show that you're
- 16:27Speaker 1: executive producing with me Richard and telling those stories of
- 16:31Speaker 1: all those unknown unnamed people who were completely innocent and
- 16:39Speaker 1: they were incarcerated and exonerated othys sometimes decades in prison
- 16:45Speaker 1: by clin convincing evidence and DNA evidence. Well, that's what
- 16:50Speaker 1: it's about. In this show is gonna be on tele
- 16:52Speaker 1: TV one coming up this summer series. Let me just
- 16:57Speaker 1: let me just break it down. He just slid into
- 16:59Speaker 1: evidence and it's so now you know he is the
- 17:02Speaker 1: host of this show. Uh. It was an idea I
- 17:04Speaker 1: came up with, uh where I felt that individuals who
- 17:09Speaker 1: spend time in jail for wrongfully in a cues and
- 17:12Speaker 1: they get out, I mean the fifteen twenty years, I
- 17:15Speaker 1: thought there was a story. They're not that, not that that.
- 17:18Speaker 1: How do you not break? How do you what? What?
- 17:21Speaker 1: What keeps you motivated? Because when they get out, these
- 17:23Speaker 1: people were featuring. When they get out of jail, they
- 17:26Speaker 1: are doing exceptionally amazing things in the community. There's no hate,
- 17:31Speaker 1: there's no I've been screwed, so I'm gonna screw you.
- 17:34Speaker 1: And when I approached the idea to bid heathless Rashan,
- 17:37Speaker 1: that's what I want to do. I want to tell
- 17:38Speaker 1: those stories. And so we came on board and he's
- 17:42Speaker 1: the host of the show. That's a magnificent jaw of
- 17:45Speaker 1: of walking into these people's homes, walking into their lives
- 17:48Speaker 1: and telling their story. And you was emotionally moved a
- 17:51Speaker 1: lot of times. And because we went on site to
- 17:54Speaker 1: the different cities, we don't this is not a cookie
- 17:56Speaker 1: cutter show. You actually went to these different cities. Tell
- 17:59Speaker 1: em about it been. Yeah, we went to Connecticut, we
- 18:03Speaker 1: went to Texas, we went to Oregon, was in Russia.
- 18:12Speaker 1: You know, we we don't think about black people being
- 18:16Speaker 1: in Oregon. But this sister was wrongful, inconcerated a lot
- 18:20Speaker 1: to do, I believe, with racism and her sexual preferences. Uh.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And so I mean we hit on a lot of
- 18:27Speaker 1: aspects of it. But you know the thing that I
- 18:30Speaker 1: always remember in the sherwy Shine that just really touched
- 18:34Speaker 1: me in a way. These are the people that we
- 18:37Speaker 1: say was the worst that society had the offer. We
- 18:41Speaker 1: we were gonna fock him up and throw away the key.
- 18:43Speaker 1: But even after it was shown that they had been
- 18:47Speaker 1: dealt terrible blow, that they were completely innocent, these people
- 18:52Speaker 1: cared to reveal that they really was the best that
- 18:55Speaker 1: society had offer because they didn't have hate, they didn't
- 18:59Speaker 1: want to UH been a'm out saying we want to
- 19:04Speaker 1: try to get on with our life. We understand that
- 19:08Speaker 1: it was a terrible thing, but I'm gonna get on
- 19:11Speaker 1: with my life. And what you said, Rashond, that really
- 19:14Speaker 1: put it in perspective for me. You think you having
- 19:16Speaker 1: a tough life, you having a tough day, Well imagine
- 19:19Speaker 1: what these people have went through and the fact that
- 19:22Speaker 1: they don't give up hope. I mean, that's the motivational show.
- 19:26Speaker 1: It's a motivational show, and that's the beauty of it
- 19:28Speaker 1: because I want to get back your law firm and
- 19:30Speaker 1: get that number back out of the game. But give
- 19:32Speaker 1: us a sneak peek, man, a sneak peek of that
- 19:35Speaker 1: new hot book that's coming out of Hopper Collins called
- 19:38Speaker 1: open Season. Give us a quick preview of what's that
- 19:41Speaker 1: all about. Come on that I know be coming out
- 19:43Speaker 1: this fall. Come on now, but we gotta we gotta
- 19:45Speaker 1: start that hype machine now about open season? Yea open
- 19:50Speaker 1: season the legalized genocide of black lives. And what it
- 19:54Speaker 1: talks about is the justice uh that has happened legally
- 20:00Speaker 1: since the inception of America, and things to make you
- 20:03Speaker 1: aware of that you may not have been aware of.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And we're going much deeper than three fifths of a
- 20:09Speaker 1: person and slavery. It's talking about things today like qualified
- 20:14Speaker 1: immunity when they shoot out children and they're not held accountable.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It's talking about the laws where we talk about environmental racism,
- 20:23Speaker 1: whearing black communities, they're allowed to talk dump these toxic chemicals.
- 20:28Speaker 1: And so it really is a book that is going
- 20:30Speaker 1: to talk about not only how the law intellectually justifies
- 20:35Speaker 1: the discrimination, but what we have to do as a
- 20:39Speaker 1: community in and out of the courtroom to overcome it
- 20:42Speaker 1: and be an important book coming out at this fall.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And Ra Sean McDonald, I can't thank you enough for
- 20:51Speaker 1: really really really, I mean it's from my heart. Uh
- 20:54Speaker 1: and I say this propertically, but I really want to
- 20:57Speaker 1: set publicly man, guess what you and Steve did with
- 21:01Speaker 1: Book Publisher has revolutionized the industry. And I'm happy to
- 21:06Speaker 1: have your guidance with Open Season because I know it's
- 21:09Speaker 1: gonna be a best selling part not only because the content,
- 21:12Speaker 1: but how it's marketing, and that's where money making conversations.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Is all about teaching people how to be better business people.
- 21:19Speaker 1: We gotta that's a quote, we go, we go. We're
- 21:21Speaker 1: gonna put that in our promo. Been like going in
- 21:24Speaker 1: our promo. Okay, but before you leave, man, let's get
- 21:28Speaker 1: out The national law Firm is launching in Atlanta. That's important.
- 21:32Speaker 1: That's happening right now. That's not in the future. It's
- 21:34Speaker 1: happening right now. Give out that number one more time. Yeah,
- 21:38Speaker 1: the website is being cut dot com being crupt law
- 21:41Speaker 1: Firm and call eight hundred eight five nine nine. Uh,

- 21:49Speaker 1: We're here to help and you and you be covering
- 21:51Speaker 1: what type of cases? Because I know we've been talking
- 21:53Speaker 1: a lot of civil rights and I don't want to
- 21:54Speaker 1: confuse people. That's the only angle that you're approaching. It
- 21:57Speaker 1: was personal injury, personal injury, tackle powder issues, talk about
- 22:03Speaker 1: nightclub shootings, apartment shootings, anywhere your life has been impacted.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Employment discrimination. Uh, if somebody is killed in the carcident,
- 22:13Speaker 1: if somebody and stuff as American mouthpractice, uh, doctor's mauthpractice.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I mean we cover in and everything legally that you
- 22:24Speaker 1: can think of. We have the staff We have the infrastructure,
- 22:28Speaker 1: we have the resources nationally to be able to make
- 22:32Speaker 1: sure you get justice because justice equals respect. There you go,
- 22:36Speaker 1: there you go. Then I want to thank you man.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I hope I did you justice today. You got a
- 22:40Speaker 1: lot of talk about. I'm so proud of your man,

- 22:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk to me. Hotline numbers four zero four
- 23:01Speaker 1: two three one eleven nating Rau Sean McDonald. Uh, this
- 23:06Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald. You're listening to money making conversations. Time. It's
- 23:12Speaker 1: time for you to realize that your life is special.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I'm creating a movement, money making conversation movement, financial literacy movement,
- 23:20Speaker 1: entrepreneurship movement. I'm starting to right here in Atlanta, But
- 23:23Speaker 1: guess what is nationwide? Do I ever feel that your
- 23:25Speaker 1: opportunities are limited to you being a local success? Your
- 23:29Speaker 1: brand is uh? Social media changed the game, Your star
- 23:32Speaker 1: and you're a business person and you don't even know it.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Let's get on to my next guest. She's on the phone.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Throughout her career in Hollywood, which included directing two feature
- 23:40Speaker 1: films and serving as a development and original program executive
- 23:44Speaker 1: for MTV Films and BT Networks, respectively, she has remained
- 23:48Speaker 1: committed to her own health practice and study, as well
- 23:51Speaker 1: as sharing and teaching the good news of whole body
- 23:53Speaker 1: health through a unique brand Fit through Faith. Please work
- 23:58Speaker 1: on the money making conversation, Charlie Charlie Jordan's brookings. I'm
- 24:06Speaker 1: on radio. I got my radio. Well, you know it's
- 24:12Speaker 1: it's you know, I'm gonna do a little quick history
- 24:15Speaker 1: because because when somebody has been this, especially in your
- 24:17Speaker 1: life so long, you have to tell the story. My
- 24:20Speaker 1: first television opportunity was given to me by Steve Harvey
- 24:24Speaker 1: on his show ABC, Uh Me and the Boys. That
- 24:27Speaker 1: show was like Top twenty. It was abruptly counsel and
- 24:32Speaker 1: um and so at the time, you know, I didn't
- 24:34Speaker 1: know anything about TV from standpoint of representation agents and managers.
- 24:38Speaker 1: And so a gentleman by name of Robert Townsend heard
- 24:42Speaker 1: my talents brought me over to do his show called
- 24:45Speaker 1: Parenthood on the w B, and I guess we could
- 24:48Speaker 1: say I met this talented young lady who's been in
- 24:50Speaker 1: my life every since and so many different ways. She's
- 24:54Speaker 1: been a support system for me. I could call her
- 24:56Speaker 1: for advice, she would give me out. She's giving me
- 24:59Speaker 1: many opportunities to pitched TV shows and also help me
- 25:02Speaker 1: get some shows on TV. And now I feel with
- 25:05Speaker 1: our great honor that uh and watching this this entrepreneurs side,
- 25:09Speaker 1: entrepreneurship side of her life to be able to represent
- 25:12Speaker 1: on the radio and carry this um this this knowledge
- 25:15Speaker 1: nation wise is a beautiful thing. So I just wanted
- 25:18Speaker 1: to get that out Charlie and UH special and you know,
- 25:21Speaker 1: I've invited you to the Neighborho Awards and all you know,
- 25:24Speaker 1: we we've we've been we've been together a long time
- 25:27Speaker 1: and we go and I say that because that's about relationships.
- 25:31Speaker 1: And I always tell people that, uh, one of the
- 25:34Speaker 1: keys to success is relationships. And also don't bite the hand.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Don't bite the hand that gave you your opportunity. And
- 25:43Speaker 1: a lot of people who don't understand that, they think
- 25:45Speaker 1: they can be successful and they get some success and
- 25:48Speaker 1: they just forget forget that path, and I can never
- 25:51Speaker 1: forget the path. You always be special. Whenever I see
- 25:54Speaker 1: Robert Towns and he just stopped with shaw and stop
- 25:56Speaker 1: as you know, man, you saved my career. Dude, look here,
- 26:00Speaker 1: there would be no Steve Harvey if there's no Robert
- 26:02Speaker 1: Townsend in my life. And Charlie, you know you were
- 26:06Speaker 1: special because you saw a rough young medium be be
- 26:10Speaker 1: carved into a comedian too, a very talented writer, you
- 26:14Speaker 1: know the peers. I spent over there learning the craft
- 26:17Speaker 1: and understanding that and just seeing a young young African
- 26:19Speaker 1: American female like you because we met before. Kind of
- 26:23Speaker 1: like when when Robert dropped his first movie. I used
- 26:25Speaker 1: to call you when I was doing radio in Houston, Texas,
- 26:28Speaker 1: trying to push that movie. I didn't even know y'all.
- 26:30Speaker 1: You know, it was just that I just love what
- 26:32Speaker 1: y'all was doing. So so tell us about your new project,
- 26:36Speaker 1: because we got a couple of breaks here and so
- 26:37Speaker 1: I'm not gonna burn up too much of your time
- 26:39Speaker 1: because this is all about you. Charlie. What is faith,
- 26:43Speaker 1: food fitness connection? What is that connection? The thing? I
- 26:48Speaker 1: think you know there are lots of diets out there
- 26:51Speaker 1: and diets don't work, and they don't work because they're
- 26:53Speaker 1: based on willpower and that's limited. Um. The faith food
- 26:58Speaker 1: fitness connection is really about beginning from a position of faith,
- 27:01Speaker 1: beginning with a purpose driven desire to be healthy, because
- 27:06Speaker 1: when we're in our best health, we can do our best.
- 27:09Speaker 1: So at the bottom of fit through faith is spirit power,
- 27:12Speaker 1: and spirit power is available in abundance anytime you need it.
- 27:15Speaker 1: And so when you base your reason for being in
- 27:20Speaker 1: faith and base your reason for being healthy and faith,
- 27:23Speaker 1: then the ball game changes. Then you can really begin
- 27:26Speaker 1: that mind renewal. Oftentimes we're just like that time. We
- 27:29Speaker 1: have all these excuses, but the reality is everyone and
- 27:33Speaker 1: you say this all the time, has an epic impact
- 27:35Speaker 1: to make on this world. And if you don't make
- 27:38Speaker 1: that alignment like and get in your best health, you
- 27:41Speaker 1: can't get that vision out there right because in pain,
- 27:45Speaker 1: we're tired, we're you know, we're excuse lad In because
- 27:49Speaker 1: we don't make those small changes one day at a
- 27:52Speaker 1: time to really connect our faith with the food that
- 27:55Speaker 1: we eat and our fitness. When you see, okay, this
- 27:59Speaker 1: is the rest of the year, this is the you know,
- 28:01Speaker 1: always do use resolutions Happening in that first quarter and
- 28:04Speaker 1: then about that second quarter that they said I didn't
- 28:07Speaker 1: say that. I did say that, how do you keep
- 28:09Speaker 1: that motivation? I really like one of the exciting reasons
- 28:13Speaker 1: I have you on the show because you should never
- 28:15Speaker 1: lose faith. So you have a great anchor anchor to
- 28:20Speaker 1: the plane. You know, as long as you have faith,
- 28:23Speaker 1: there's opportunities, there's opportunities, there's potential for success, and to
- 28:27Speaker 1: build your fitness around that program. What was what was
- 28:31Speaker 1: the I would say the light bulb, They said, this
- 28:35Speaker 1: is the way, Well, the light bulb actually was was
- 28:39Speaker 1: the whole spirit? And to be honest, I was. I
- 28:43Speaker 1: was actually working at MTV and I was not in
- 28:47Speaker 1: a probably shouldn't call them out, but it was my
- 28:51Speaker 1: current position. I just didn't feel fulfilled. Something was missing.
- 28:56Speaker 1: And I've been married, but we were trying to have
- 28:58Speaker 1: a child. So I started going what I call these
- 29:00Speaker 1: faith walks. I was like, I need to I need direction,
- 29:03Speaker 1: and I would walk, took the earbuds out, and I
- 29:05Speaker 1: was really only I needed to hear a word and
- 29:09Speaker 1: I and I one day finally I felt the Holy Spirit,
- 29:12Speaker 1: my people are dying. Now. I didn't know what that
- 29:15Speaker 1: meant or what I was supposed to do about it.
- 29:18Speaker 1: But I kept seeking and then the vision for fit
- 29:20Speaker 1: through faith came through. And you know, the scripture was clear,
- 29:23Speaker 1: and the words were clear, and the direction was clear,
- 29:26Speaker 1: and ultimately, you know, there's a verse and songs. One
- 29:30Speaker 1: it says, unless the Lord builds the house, the builders
- 29:33Speaker 1: labor in vain. So unless you start with faith, all
- 29:38Speaker 1: of your actions aren't necessarily going to build the house
- 29:41Speaker 1: or build your exceedingly abundant life. You need to start
- 29:44Speaker 1: there because that it's it's bigger than you. We get
- 29:48Speaker 1: stuck because we disappoint ourselves, like we will let ourselves down.
- 29:52Speaker 1: But if we are serving a higher purpose, like what
- 29:55Speaker 1: that call is on your life, then there's a better
- 29:57Speaker 1: reason and a bigger reason to be in your house. Now,
- 30:00Speaker 1: you know, immediately the entrepreneurs side of the goals, there's
- 30:04Speaker 1: a bunch of churches out there need to hear you. Yeah,
- 30:07Speaker 1: you know, it's it because because that's the base of
- 30:09Speaker 1: faith starts there, because that's what churches are built on.
- 30:12Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, People go there or become members.
- 30:16Speaker 1: They hear that bars there. How have your approached you know,
- 30:20Speaker 1: spreading your brain? You know, and how receptive because I
- 30:24Speaker 1: do want to make this statement. It's like with anything,
- 30:26Speaker 1: you know, people put so much pressure on faith, much
- 30:30Speaker 1: pressure on God. You know, I think you can deliver
- 30:33Speaker 1: the but effort, effort, effort has to be in that process.
- 30:38Speaker 1: You're not gonna pray these pounds off. You're not gonna
- 30:40Speaker 1: pray until six back. So how are you getting the
- 30:44Speaker 1: message out? And you know, just just you know, this
- 30:46Speaker 1: is a playing out there for you, dude, that you
- 30:47Speaker 1: have a great concept, how is it being delivered? So
- 30:51Speaker 1: right now? You know you mentioned it even in your
- 30:53Speaker 1: open you know, social media is really you know, kind
- 30:56Speaker 1: of open the floodgates in terms of you know, beyond
- 30:58Speaker 1: local to national even international and so you know, so
- 31:02Speaker 1: social media has been my my main platform. Um. You
- 31:05Speaker 1: know I started with a group of forty and now
- 31:08Speaker 1: I have a group of a thousand forty one you
- 31:10Speaker 1: know in in in actually and so so the message
- 31:13Speaker 1: is getting out there. Um, I do speak. I actually
- 31:16Speaker 1: want to do more. Um I was you know, it
- 31:18Speaker 1: was blessed to be able to speak at Megafest in
- 31:20Speaker 1: June and has to to really large rooms and got
- 31:24Speaker 1: to teach a fitness class um which is the other
- 31:26Speaker 1: thing like the fitness part um and I'm really looking,
- 31:29Speaker 1: you know, seeking more speaking opportunities. But you know, I
- 31:32Speaker 1: have different programs that I have and you know, you
- 31:33Speaker 1: can check out the website and you know I do
- 31:35Speaker 1: a cleanse and I do a you know, kind of
- 31:37Speaker 1: a ten week plan. But but it is so much
- 31:40Speaker 1: of it is getting the message to the people because
- 31:43Speaker 1: once you have a purpose driven health and once because
- 31:46Speaker 1: I just want people to stop waiting for the pain
- 31:48Speaker 1: to make a change. And that's what we're doing. We're
- 31:50Speaker 1: waiting for our doctor to make us do something, or
- 31:53Speaker 1: waiting for a relative or a friend to die, or
- 31:56Speaker 1: we're waiting for you know, we finally see that picture
- 31:59Speaker 1: that scares us like oh I didn't know, or that
- 32:02Speaker 1: number on the scale. But we don't have to wait
- 32:04Speaker 1: for the pain to change. We can do things today.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Let me issue this. This is really cool because you're
- 32:10Speaker 1: talking to a guy back in the eighties. I was
- 32:12Speaker 1: an aerobic constructor. You know, James Father was my my queen.
- 32:16Speaker 1: You know, everyone her DVDs and so so what is
- 32:20Speaker 1: what is what is a session with you? What is
- 32:22Speaker 1: the training session in a class? And how long is it?
- 32:25Speaker 1: So the session, the classes I do. It is called
- 32:27Speaker 1: actually called Proverbs thirty one Body, and I love it
- 32:31Speaker 1: because it really is about it focuses on stability, stamina,
- 32:35Speaker 1: and strength. So stability obviously we all need strong cores
- 32:38Speaker 1: because our cores really are the center of our being,
- 32:42Speaker 1: that we have a core focus. The then um staminas
- 32:45Speaker 1: is cardio. Cardio usually is some kind of interval training
- 32:48Speaker 1: because that's the most efficient way to get the best
- 32:51Speaker 1: exercise and burn the more most fat. And then um
- 32:54Speaker 1: strength strength training is so important, and especially for women,
- 33:00Speaker 1: tend to either not do it or you know, kind
- 33:03Speaker 1: of use excuses for it. But the reality is as
- 33:06Speaker 1: we age, we're losing muscle mass, and so our metabolism
- 33:09Speaker 1: is slowing down. And then we wonder why our waistlines
- 33:12Speaker 1: are growing and we're still easy. Metabolism is slowing down,
- 33:15Speaker 1: but our spoon yes, indeed, and and and so we
- 33:21Speaker 1: we can do things about that, right if we if
- 33:24Speaker 1: we do our stability, stamin and strength, then we actually
- 33:28Speaker 1: will start to we'll see that waistline decrease and we'll
- 33:31Speaker 1: feel better, we'll have more energy. But we've got to
- 33:34Speaker 1: also eat the right food now before we go to
- 33:37Speaker 1: break tell us how we can reach you, uh website
- 33:40Speaker 1: social media and so we can get that out on
- 33:43Speaker 1: this on this side, so we can really establish a
- 33:45Speaker 1: conversation on when we come back. Tell us about your
- 33:49Speaker 1: social media handles. Take your time. And the website, okay,
- 33:52Speaker 1: the website is www that Fit through Faith dot M
- 33:57Speaker 1: through is th h are you? My faith Facebook page
- 34:02Speaker 1: is Fit through Faith? And then I have a group
- 34:05Speaker 1: it's to Fit through Faith Village and I'm happy to
- 34:07Speaker 1: add you into that. And on Instagram, I'm at I
- 34:11Speaker 1: am Fit through Faith. I love to get in conversation there. Now,
- 34:15Speaker 1: know what you said, No Twitter? Why is that? You know?
- 34:18Speaker 1: Here's the thing. But but being a solo preneur, I'm
- 34:25Speaker 1: concentrating on those things that I can do best. Now
- 34:28Speaker 1: I do plan to add Twitter. But I love that
- 34:30Speaker 1: so well. I will tell you I can't complain because
- 34:36Speaker 1: here my base. You know, I have several thousand followers
- 34:40Speaker 1: on Facebook, like thirty thousand on Instagram and like eight
- 34:43Speaker 1: thousand on Twitter. So focus with your strengths that you know.
- 34:48Speaker 1: So I'm teasing you, but pretty much I'm saying the
- 34:50Speaker 1: same thing. Whatever hanging that child, I'm gonna says some
- 34:55Speaker 1: foods your way in a minute, because I can't say
- 34:57Speaker 1: you every day because you know, because it really is.
- 35:01Speaker 1: That's what I like about because you know I'm in
- 35:04Speaker 1: the fitness I'm not. I'm not a guy who well
- 35:07Speaker 1: you'll see I do twenty pound arm curls with I
- 35:12Speaker 1: won't be doing that at sixty. I'm not trying to
- 35:14Speaker 1: look like the rock. You know I'm saying, I'm just
- 35:16Speaker 1: trying to look like Rashan McDonald. And when I see
- 35:20Speaker 1: and I've been in jack Lelane as a kid, I
- 35:22Speaker 1: used to watch this guy, and I see it coming
- 35:24Speaker 1: back to that when I hear an individual like you,
- 35:27Speaker 1: I see cameras, I see a group of four or
- 35:30Speaker 1: five people because ESPN was all into that in the eighties,
- 35:34Speaker 1: and I see it coming back. But on the social side,
- 35:37Speaker 1: that's really powerful to me, really really powerful. And just
- 35:40Speaker 1: give out their website one more time before we go
- 35:42Speaker 1: to break Through Faith dot com U. We'll be right
- 35:47Speaker 1: back with more Charlie Jordan's brooken you know, fit through Faith, Roshan,
- 35:52Speaker 1: I know a little bit about that faith. You know.
- 35:55Speaker 1: I try to stay fit, but I still will eat
- 35:56Speaker 1: that apple. Right back from more wanted making conversations, We'll
- 36:03Speaker 1: be right back with more from John mcgonnod The Money
- 36:06Speaker 1: Making Conversation down I just for Sean make about high
- 36:11Speaker 1: this Rashaan Meggal, the host of Money Making Conversation and
- 36:14Speaker 1: what happens when you've been off air for a month.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Your lips in your tongues and you and you don't
- 36:19Speaker 1: get geared together. At the same time, I'm on the
- 36:21Speaker 1: phone with She's on the phone, Charlie, you're calling from
- 36:25Speaker 1: Los Angeles. Correctie, absolutely, Hey, let's let's talk about you know,
- 36:29Speaker 1: this is all about entrepreneurship. It's all about motivating people
- 36:33Speaker 1: through the secrets of success. The reason I really got
- 36:36Speaker 1: you on the phone talking about, you know, fit through
- 36:39Speaker 1: faith is to let people know how being in shape
- 36:43Speaker 1: can can make them better business people, make them better employees,
- 36:47Speaker 1: make them get up when he's supposed to get up.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Talk a little bit about that that side of it,
- 36:51Speaker 1: and why are you're pushing it so hard because you
- 36:54Speaker 1: mentioned it earlier, But I really want to drill down
- 36:56Speaker 1: because when your entrepreneur, you you know, at twenty four
- 36:59Speaker 1: o'clock be really shortened when you're trying to sleep and
- 37:02Speaker 1: you gotta get up the work and you start expanding
- 37:04Speaker 1: to that family. So you've got to figure out ways
- 37:06Speaker 1: to stay in shape or stay active to a point
- 37:09Speaker 1: that you know, you don't build high cholesterol, you don't
- 37:12Speaker 1: build high blood pressure situation because you're eating their own things.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Talk to us absolutely, so you know. So we talked
- 37:18Speaker 1: about faith, and then the next thing is food because
- 37:22Speaker 1: basically our bodies were made perfectly, and perfect food was
- 37:26Speaker 1: created for our bodies like and I call it God's
- 37:28Speaker 1: abundant buffet. So when we eat those single ingredient foods
- 37:31Speaker 1: that God created that plant base but not plant exclusive,
- 37:36Speaker 1: but but making sure you have those plants, and then
- 37:39Speaker 1: those clean foods that even the animal proteins that are clean,
- 37:43Speaker 1: our body actually runs the way it's supposed to run.
- 37:46Speaker 1: So if you are tired and fatigued and brain fog
- 37:51Speaker 1: and not getting enough sleep and all of these things,
- 37:53Speaker 1: and then you wonder why you're not productive, it's because
- 37:57Speaker 1: you're putting your rolls Royce and I say, stop putting cheap,
- 38:00Speaker 1: low octane knockoff gas in your tank. When we eat
- 38:04Speaker 1: man made foods, our bodies run like Kong. When we
- 38:09Speaker 1: eat the food that God made, our bodies run zoom.
- 38:13Speaker 1: And that's what makes the difference, and so for an
- 38:16Speaker 1: order in order for us to be effective in the workplace,
- 38:18Speaker 1: especially those visionaries, those who have dreams and goals and
- 38:22Speaker 1: purposes and calls on their lives. And we all do
- 38:25Speaker 1: because God wants use all of us in big ways.
- 38:28Speaker 1: But we're not even available because because our our communication
- 38:31Speaker 1: systems all clogged up and gunked up with processed foods.
- 38:36Speaker 1: My goodness, you said it. I would tell you so
- 38:38Speaker 1: so a guy like me, I'm a bad eater. I
- 38:42Speaker 1: got uh, I got in my phone. I got an
- 38:44Speaker 1: app for Crispy Crean. Okay, so I'm gonna eat bad.
- 38:50Speaker 1: So so the fitness how do because like I said,
- 38:53Speaker 1: you know, I know when to stop. Though I would
- 38:56Speaker 1: tell you I know I have that big old piece
- 38:58Speaker 1: of German chocolate cake, but I know when to stop.
- 39:01Speaker 1: So so so when I hear you speaking, and you're
- 39:04Speaker 1: a fantastic speaker, I was just gonna let you know,
- 39:06Speaker 1: I gotta give you credit with credits due. You should
- 39:08Speaker 1: do more speaking because you have the right tone and
- 39:11Speaker 1: saying all the right the information that will keep me focused.
- 39:15Speaker 1: And that's really what we're talking about here. When you're
- 39:17Speaker 1: trying to put all this package together by fifth, fifth faith,
- 39:21Speaker 1: food and fitness and being focused correct through a webinar
- 39:24Speaker 1: series that you have coming up, right, Yes, I have
- 39:27Speaker 1: a Conquered Cravings Conqueror coming up which starts to break
- 39:30Speaker 1: it all down, but it all focuses on on pat
- 39:33Speaker 1: food and fitness. Now what what is that webinar? So
- 39:37Speaker 1: the webin I'm doing a free webinar actually next Wednesday.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Did you hear that free free webinar? Because you gotta
- 39:46Speaker 1: tell people off time they just hit webb and they
- 39:48Speaker 1: just stopped free flue. Put in capital or free webinar?
- 39:53Speaker 1: Next next week? Correct, next week, next Monday, next Monday,
- 39:59Speaker 1: I'm sorry six on sorry five thirty Pacific time a
- 40:02Speaker 1: thirty pm Eastern time. That's yeah, making sure that people
- 40:07Speaker 1: don't have an excuse. So I've got to work. I've
- 40:09Speaker 1: got this because you need the information, because cravings are
- 40:13Speaker 1: are really you know, they stop us from being our
- 40:15Speaker 1: best selves. And because you know there are people out
- 40:18Speaker 1: there when they hear the word webinar, you know, because
- 40:21Speaker 1: we're streaming now, we got satellite, we got cable. Now
- 40:25Speaker 1: here the word webinar? How does one gain access to
- 40:27Speaker 1: your webinar? Next Monday at eight thirty Eastern Standard time.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Here's the deal. So all of my webinars are under
- 40:35Speaker 1: the banner Spirit Powered belly Blast because I'm all about
- 40:38Speaker 1: like and eventually clear that in front of a comedian
- 40:43Speaker 1: spirit belly Blast belly blas. So if you so the
- 40:49Speaker 1: the U r L A Spirit Powered Belly dot com
- 40:53Speaker 1: literally just like that Spirit Power to belly dot com,
- 40:57Speaker 1: you will get the page that gives you all the
- 40:59Speaker 1: information for the webinar. Okay, do me a favor. I
- 41:01Speaker 1: got my program director here a Dale sent us a
- 41:04Speaker 1: banner and we'll posted next Monday for you on Money
- 41:07Speaker 1: Making Conversation Facebook page, Twitter account as well as our
- 41:12Speaker 1: Instagram account because it's all about sharing your your gifts
- 41:16Speaker 1: and spreading the word and social media has been an
- 41:18Speaker 1: amazing format for young entrepreneurs or solo preneurs like you are.
- 41:23Speaker 1: And let's let's talk a little bit about making a
- 41:25Speaker 1: transition from a corporate executive to a sololo preneur because
- 41:29Speaker 1: I want to talk about that just a little bit
- 41:31Speaker 1: because a lot of people are afraid to take that step,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you know, because a regular job, you know that check,
- 41:39Speaker 1: you know that health plan, you know we're supposed to
- 41:41Speaker 1: ride work you know, we're supposed to lead work, but
- 41:43Speaker 1: you were from corporate to solo preneurs talk to us. Yeah,
- 41:47Speaker 1: I mean it's it's a leap, and it has to be.
- 41:50Speaker 1: The timing is always challenging because you know, you have
- 41:54Speaker 1: this this this thing deep down in your value that
- 41:56Speaker 1: you have to do and I've known that for a while.
- 41:59Speaker 1: The timing for me really was, you know, kind of
- 42:01Speaker 1: a collision of a lot of different things, you know,
- 42:05Speaker 1: contracts and blah blah, and finally just deciding, you know,
- 42:08Speaker 1: I also wanted a better work life balance for my family,
- 42:11Speaker 1: and so I finally made the leap. But if you're
- 42:14Speaker 1: not ready to make the leap yet, then you have
- 42:16Speaker 1: to reframe your mind and look at your job as
- 42:19Speaker 1: your investor. So if your job as your investor, then
- 42:23Speaker 1: it's a good thing, right, And then you you have
- 42:25Speaker 1: to set a plan for that, like I need X
- 42:27Speaker 1: amount of money in order to do this dream. But
- 42:30Speaker 1: your dream and your vision and your goal and your
- 42:32Speaker 1: purpose is everything. Like we need you, We need everyone
- 42:36Speaker 1: to manifest their message in the biggest way. So for me,
- 42:39Speaker 1: it was this is time, you know, and you know,
- 42:42Speaker 1: obviously conversations with a husband, um, but I had a
- 42:45Speaker 1: plan and so we were able to you know, kind
- 42:48Speaker 1: of financially it's tight, and I have to do everything myself.
- 42:52Speaker 1: You know, it's hard. I'm working all the dag go
- 42:55Speaker 1: on time. You know, it's a natural so in all
- 43:00Speaker 1: of us, you're now just applying it to yourself. And
- 43:03Speaker 1: so that's why I respect now is there a light
- 43:05Speaker 1: at the end of the time and stuff that it's
- 43:07Speaker 1: so dark down there? Used to go, oh my god,
- 43:10Speaker 1: what have I done. That's that's when the relationship and
- 43:13Speaker 1: the faith comes in to that. You've made the right decision,
- 43:16Speaker 1: so you know, you're not gonna run me off the page, know,
- 43:19Speaker 1: and and the in the faith part that you get confirmation.
- 43:23Speaker 1: The confirmation is when the light bulb goes off in
- 43:25Speaker 1: somebody else, when somebody says, I get it and I
- 43:28Speaker 1: actually got to post this morning. A friend of mine
- 43:30Speaker 1: had ten thousand steps before seven o'clock in the morning
- 43:33Speaker 1: my time. I was probably nine o'clock her time, but
- 43:36Speaker 1: that that was because the light bulb gone off, and
- 43:38Speaker 1: it's like, yes, thank you, I remember, I'm doing the
- 43:40Speaker 1: right thing. So you get those confirmations when your message
- 43:43Speaker 1: actually manifest and the light bulb goes off for somebody else.
- 43:47Speaker 1: You don't just share this story about you know, working,
- 43:50Speaker 1: you know on Sunday morning. Got I get up every
- 43:52Speaker 1: day at five am. That's a that's a consistency thing
- 43:54Speaker 1: about me, because if I changed that, then if my
- 43:57Speaker 1: body feels weird and my whole day is went off.
- 44:00Speaker 1: And so five am and so this is Sunday morning,
- 44:03Speaker 1: so it's a stagger around. Don't say I get up quickly,
- 44:08Speaker 1: but I get I get up and then by by
- 44:10Speaker 1: six o'clock, I just went to my LinkedIn account and
- 44:13Speaker 1: I started messaging people. I'm talking to CEOs, entrepreneurs, owners
- 44:18Speaker 1: and everything and so so just I'm and I'm thinking
- 44:21Speaker 1: that that's so early that I wouldn't get responses. I
- 44:25Speaker 1: got responses from CEOs from Las Vegas. I got responses
- 44:29Speaker 1: from seat from from business owners from Los Angeles. I
- 44:32Speaker 1: got responses all this before seven o'clock am. This is
- 44:35Speaker 1: on Sunday morning, from from network executives h in New York.
- 44:40Speaker 1: And I was that let me know. And I must
- 44:42Speaker 1: have said about thirty messages that morning. And that's important
- 44:46Speaker 1: to say that every day, if you're an entrepreneur, it's
- 44:49Speaker 1: a work day, you know, and you can't. And the
- 44:52Speaker 1: thing that's stunned me a little a lot was that
- 44:55Speaker 1: I was getting responses back and it was not from
- 44:57Speaker 1: low level people. So they have that same mentality. And
- 45:01Speaker 1: that's why I just wanted to give that an example
- 45:02Speaker 1: of you know, when people think that you reach a
- 45:05Speaker 1: certain title, or you reach a certain ownership level, that
- 45:07Speaker 1: you stopped working, you don't because that passion that got
- 45:10Speaker 1: you there has to stay there consistently or you'll fall
- 45:14Speaker 1: off the block. And that's what I was doing Sunday morning,
- 45:17Speaker 1: you know, before the football games came up, before going
- 45:19Speaker 1: to church, before eating breakfast, I was in my office
- 45:23Speaker 1: just casually, just just talking to people, just telling them
- 45:25Speaker 1: about money making conversation, inviting them on my show as
- 45:28Speaker 1: a guest, motivating them to see my vision the money
- 45:31Speaker 1: making Conversation movement for come be a part of it.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Come help me build momentum, to let the world know
- 45:38Speaker 1: that they can be successful if they hear people like you, Charlie.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Tell them the secrets of your success, going from an
- 45:44Speaker 1: entrepreneur to a solo preneurs, deriving the word faith. That's important,
- 45:49Speaker 1: that that's important. And I just want to just just
- 45:52Speaker 1: just let everybody knows before you go, how can they
- 45:54Speaker 1: reach you? Tell us again about what you know, what
- 45:58Speaker 1: the whole program is about. Because you're fantastic and I
- 46:01Speaker 1: want to stay a friend and you will get us
- 46:03Speaker 1: that car if we're gonna promote your webinar next Monday
- 46:05Speaker 1: at eight thirty Eastern standard tag thank you so much
- 46:09Speaker 1: for John. So yeah, so it's Fit through Faith. The
- 46:13Speaker 1: website is Fit through Faith dot com. If you want
- 46:16Speaker 1: to do the webinar, it's actually Spirit powered Belly dot com.
- 46:19Speaker 1: So I'd love to have you join me again. For
- 46:22Speaker 1: the Facebook, it's Fit through Faith the page or Fit
- 46:26Speaker 1: through Faith Village the group and ultimately it's about you know, faith,
- 46:30Speaker 1: food and fitness to get into what I call your
- 46:32Speaker 1: service sized body to be of greatest service to the world. Yeah,
- 46:36Speaker 1: and now and now, now when when they go to
- 46:38Speaker 1: that webinar, what will they be getting from that webinar
- 46:41Speaker 1: that's free by the way, yes, it's free f r E.
- 46:44Speaker 1: What they will what they will get is number one,
- 46:46Speaker 1: understanding what cravings are. They will understand the six kind
- 46:52Speaker 1: of typical cravings, how to actually crush them and get
- 46:55Speaker 1: in communication with them, and then healthy swaps that they
- 46:58Speaker 1: can use so ultimately putting cravings in control so that
- 47:02Speaker 1: you can truly live your best life and be have
- 47:05Speaker 1: more energy, more creativity and confidence to do what you're
- 47:08Speaker 1: called to do. That's amazing. I just see it. One day,
- 47:11Speaker 1: just you sidwhere on Venice Beach. One day, just a
- 47:14Speaker 1: thousand people on your webinar, just showing the world. That's
- 47:18Speaker 1: where you hear the young lady. Don't let nobody stop
- 47:20Speaker 1: you because you got the faith. Okay, can't stop stop.
- 47:24Speaker 1: I don't want to thank you for coming on money

- 47:29Speaker 1: Get that batter to us so we can promote. Next Monday,
- 47:33Speaker 1: that's the twenty nine, at eight thirty Eastern Standard time,

- 47:44Speaker 1: Jordan Brooks. She went from entrepreneur to solopreneurs, pushing the
- 47:48Speaker 1: brand of faith, food fitness. What's the connection. The connection
- 47:51Speaker 1: is that you want to have a better life. The
- 47:53Speaker 1: connection is you want to wake up and hold your
- 47:55Speaker 1: kids and know you have a future with them. But
- 47:57Speaker 1: understanding that you can combine all three that's when money
- 48:00Speaker 1: making a conversation. I'm in the line of y'all on
- 48:02Speaker 1: Bears in level ninety. I'm happy. I know you are

- 48:50Speaker 1: I've been trying to get this young lady on the
- 48:52Speaker 1: line for a long time on money Making Conversation. Consider
- 48:55Speaker 1: an incredible talent one of the true millennial leaders of
- 48:59Speaker 1: this country moving forward. How many talents includes She's a
- 49:03Speaker 1: tattoo artist, she's a painter, entrepreneur, philanthropists, social media influencer,
- 49:09Speaker 1: which is very important these days, reality TV star, and
- 49:13Speaker 1: educated in mathematics. Please welcome to money making conversations, cat Tat,
- 49:22Speaker 1: I'm doing fantastic. Now, what city are you calling from.
- 49:26Speaker 1: I'm calling from Los Angeles. Good, good, good God. I'm
- 49:30Speaker 1: happy to get you on the phone because I'm a
- 49:32Speaker 1: big fan. Okay, let me just get that out of
- 49:34Speaker 1: the way, big fan of yours. And I know we've
- 49:37Speaker 1: been trying to connect up since late early December, and
- 49:41Speaker 1: I'm so appreciative that you came onto my new launch
- 49:44Speaker 1: in Atlanta. I'm excited. Uh this is my first show
- 49:47Speaker 1: in Atlanta, and uh, I wanted to bring a brand
- 49:49Speaker 1: like yours on the air as my on my premier
- 49:53Speaker 1: show because all those things I mentioned. Entrepreneur, you know, philanthropists,
- 49:58Speaker 1: you know, a TV star. But the thing that I
- 50:01Speaker 1: love the most because my degree, cat Tat, is in mathematics.
- 50:05Speaker 1: That's my degree. I graduated with a degree from the
- 50:08Speaker 1: University of Houston and mathematics with a minor in sociology.
- 50:12Speaker 1: So you know, I love you, So tell us about
- 50:18Speaker 1: that college life where it all started. You know, you
- 50:21Speaker 1: went down the University of Missouri studying studying math. How
- 50:25Speaker 1: did all this tattoo, all this all this skill set?
- 50:28Speaker 1: What drove you to this direction? Let's talk about that first. Well, um,
- 50:33Speaker 1: you know, and well, first of all, congratulations on your
- 50:36Speaker 1: Atlanta lunch and thank you so much for having me. Um.
- 50:39Speaker 1: But I always possessed the challenge of art, like it
- 50:42Speaker 1: was something I like to do in my free time. Um,
- 50:45Speaker 1: you know. And I guess towards your senior year of
- 50:48Speaker 1: high school is when everybody starts to get tattooed. So
- 50:50Speaker 1: that's when people would like start asking in a sketch
- 50:52Speaker 1: their tattoo ideas. But my passion in high school is
- 50:55Speaker 1: really math. I was always really really good at that.
- 50:58Speaker 1: I wasn't I wasn't always the best student. UM. I
- 51:02Speaker 1: was more focused on, you know, just drawing and things
- 51:05Speaker 1: like that. But my my A C two scores what
- 51:07Speaker 1: actually got me into college. So I graduated with a
- 51:10Speaker 1: regular GP A. I think I had like a two
- 51:12Speaker 1: point and when I graduated, but I ended up scoring
- 51:14Speaker 1: I think a twenty nine or A thirty in the
- 51:17Speaker 1: math department. UM uh, thank you. Yeah, the math department
- 51:22Speaker 1: on the act. So I actually ended up getting showsen
- 51:26Speaker 1: for a scholarship program that was for UM students of
- 51:31Speaker 1: color with either low g p a s and high
- 51:34Speaker 1: test scores or low test scores and high g p as.
- 51:38Speaker 1: And we had to go through a transition program UM
- 51:40Speaker 1: in order to get the scholarships. I completed. Transition program
- 51:44Speaker 1: was like summer school, and that's when I ended up
- 51:46Speaker 1: getting my scholarship of mathematics. And I went on to
- 51:48Speaker 1: study math education. And that is where I began tattooing
- 51:53Speaker 1: in my dorm room. I had so much free time
- 51:55Speaker 1: during summer school. Um, I just ordered up the kids.
- 51:58Speaker 1: So I was, you know, like I halfway tattoo artists
- 52:01Speaker 1: and a HALFWAYE come tell you so that you cannot
- 52:07Speaker 1: now in college, I was making pizza in my dorm room.
- 52:10Speaker 1: So so please don't act like just just I just
- 52:13Speaker 1: thought tattooed. How did you gain the confidence, because you know,
- 52:18Speaker 1: this is something that's very compiling, didn't vary, something permanent.
- 52:22Speaker 1: How did you gain the confidence in yourself first of all,
- 52:26Speaker 1: and then the potential clients that would allow you to
- 52:30Speaker 1: tattoo them. Well, you know, I was honestly, I was fearless.
- 52:36Speaker 1: And that's one thing when you're eighteen and you know,
- 52:38Speaker 1: you go away from home for the first time, all
- 52:41Speaker 1: the people there was just something in the air. I
- 52:44Speaker 1: was literally fearless. I didn't overthink it. I didn't think
- 52:47Speaker 1: about the consequences. I could have gotten a lot of trouble.
- 52:52Speaker 1: But you know, there were only thirty five students chosen
- 52:55Speaker 1: for this transition program college program, and we automatically got
- 52:58Speaker 1: to the closed. So when I ordered that kid, they
- 53:02Speaker 1: just trusted me. I don't know why, but they just
- 53:05Speaker 1: they just let me practice on them and don't practice.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Please consider practice no worse than that. They let me
- 53:15Speaker 1: take a risk, right right right. That's awesome, thank you.
- 53:21Speaker 1: But you know, UM, I'm not gonna lie. I had
- 53:23Speaker 1: no business taking that route, but it worked out for me. UM.
- 53:27Speaker 1: And then by the time the real, the real school
- 53:29Speaker 1: year started, UM, I was good enough to actually lay
- 53:33Speaker 1: down some you know, some twenty dollars tattoos. And then
- 53:36Speaker 1: from there I just got better and better and started
- 53:39Speaker 1: working in professional shops and it just took on a
- 53:42Speaker 1: life of its own. This is very important that UM, Uh,
- 53:46Speaker 1: that's one of the reasons I created money making Conversation
- 53:48Speaker 1: just to show this is this is this is a
- 53:51Speaker 1: value that you have that even at a young age.
- 53:54Speaker 1: I always tell people, people who get it at a
- 53:56Speaker 1: young age, I feel, are just so amazing. That's why
- 54:00Speaker 1: at a young age you knew this is what you
- 54:02Speaker 1: wanted to do, and so you were driven by faith,
- 54:06Speaker 1: by confidence, by I can you can't, the world can't
- 54:10Speaker 1: stop me. And that's that's that's one of the lynchpins
- 54:13Speaker 1: to your success. And can you share that value with
- 54:16Speaker 1: my listeners and my viewers? Yeah, yes, absolutely. Um. People
- 54:21Speaker 1: always asked me, like, you know, what got you into
- 54:23Speaker 1: tattoo and what started you? And that like pointed you.
- 54:26Speaker 1: I felt like it was something that found me, you know,
- 54:28Speaker 1: like the seconds that I started it, it felt right.
- 54:32Speaker 1: And you know, even though I had ups and downs
- 54:34Speaker 1: with you know what I mean, starting in my dorm
- 54:36Speaker 1: room and practicing, you know, trial and error. UM, I
- 54:40Speaker 1: knew that it was something that I wanted to do.
- 54:43Speaker 1: So I was gonna, by any means necessary, get good
- 54:46Speaker 1: at it. And that required me, you know, walk into
- 54:49Speaker 1: every local tattoo shop like hey, I want to do this,
- 54:52Speaker 1: you know, and I got turned down by a lot
- 54:54Speaker 1: of them. But I was very, very persistent, and once
- 54:57Speaker 1: I had my mindset on it, there was nothing that
- 54:59Speaker 1: was gonna stay. I mean, okay, what did you really
- 55:01Speaker 1: get your foothold and tattooing? What did you? What? City?
- 55:05Speaker 1: Um in Columbia, Missouri? Okay, and then you transition to
- 55:08Speaker 1: where for Chicago? And that's when you got turned down
- 55:13Speaker 1: a lot. Um. No, I got turned down a lot
- 55:18Speaker 1: while I was in college because okay, small town, small
- 55:23Speaker 1: college town. And I would walk to those local shops
- 55:26Speaker 1: and I was like, hey, no, I'm do this. I'm
- 55:28Speaker 1: starting with my dorm. And they were like, you're what,
- 55:31Speaker 1: like you can get a lot of Why are you
- 55:33Speaker 1: trying to be a tattoo artist if you're a mass major? Right,
- 55:38Speaker 1: But I want to Chicago. So you're being insulted because
- 55:41Speaker 1: you were being shut down because you're smart. Though you're smart. Yes,
- 55:45Speaker 1: that's that's funny, that's fun So so you're Chicago. And
- 55:49Speaker 1: so you started to become because once you get on TV,
- 55:53Speaker 1: you know, social media starts coming in your direction, your
- 55:55Speaker 1: branch starts growing, you know it say they said, once
- 55:58Speaker 1: you hit over fifty followers in any platform with his Instagram,
- 56:03Speaker 1: Twitter or Facebook. You are an influencer. How did that
- 56:07Speaker 1: change your role as as a as as not only
- 56:10Speaker 1: a tattoo talent, but that's a person because now the
- 56:13Speaker 1: world knows who you are, not only on TV but socially. Yeah,
- 56:18Speaker 1: you know, before before the TV show, I think I
- 56:21Speaker 1: had a I had an okay following. I think had
- 56:24Speaker 1: like thirty thousand followers, and I would just post tattoos
- 56:28Speaker 1: all the time because I wanted to be proved. I
- 56:30Speaker 1: didn't post any pictures of myself. You know, I literally
- 56:33Speaker 1: would post pictures of tattoos all the time because you know,
- 56:36Speaker 1: I got rejected by the tattoo orrold so much, you
- 56:39Speaker 1: know what I mean. So I wanted to prove that
- 56:41Speaker 1: I was a great tattoo artist. And I'm taking this seriously.
- 56:44Speaker 1: So when we got the platform of the TV show
- 56:46Speaker 1: and my following began to grow, it allowed me to
- 56:49Speaker 1: open up about who I was. So the world got
- 56:52Speaker 1: to see me tattoo so they know I'm a great
- 56:54Speaker 1: tattoo artist. Now I get to show the world who
- 56:56Speaker 1: I am and share my story that I am a
- 56:58Speaker 1: regular girl from sure Cargo who went to a university,
- 57:02Speaker 1: who started like this and really, you know, show the
- 57:05Speaker 1: world who I am. So it just allowed me to
- 57:08Speaker 1: really open up about myself and reach out to other
- 57:10Speaker 1: girls and you know, other young men and just other
- 57:13Speaker 1: people like me and really share my story. And that
- 57:16Speaker 1: has been effects on people. You know, people wanna get
- 57:20Speaker 1: to know the person you know behind the ink and
- 57:24Speaker 1: whatever you do. So it definitely allowed me to I
- 57:27Speaker 1: love it because I love it because when I hear
- 57:30Speaker 1: your voice, I hear a certain genuine um uh mentorship.
- 57:36Speaker 1: You know that you're willing to share. You wouldn't have
- 57:37Speaker 1: opened up because the reason that I'm really I'm excited
- 57:40Speaker 1: about you interviewing yours that you talk about your setbacks,
- 57:43Speaker 1: and you didn't let the nose. You didn't let people
- 57:46Speaker 1: telling you a pigeonholed you or tell you you put
- 57:49Speaker 1: you in a box. You're supposed to look at a
- 57:51Speaker 1: certain word, you're supposed to do a certain thing. To
- 57:53Speaker 1: be at tattoo Auder. You took risk, and that's a
- 57:55Speaker 1: value that a lot of people run from and and
- 58:00Speaker 1: you didn't. And you didn't. Why why didn't you run
- 58:04Speaker 1: when he told you you you got a math degree?
- 58:06Speaker 1: Why didn't you need to stop tattooing in the dorm.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Why didn't you run? Um? You know, I'm I'm very
- 58:14Speaker 1: very strong in my face and um, I'm just a
- 58:20Speaker 1: strong deliver. When when something fills right, you can't ignore that.
- 58:26Speaker 1: If you're doing something you know that is not um
- 58:30Speaker 1: what God has for you, it doesn't sit right with you.
- 58:35Speaker 1: If that makes sense, like it, when you're following your
- 58:38Speaker 1: purpose and walking in the right path, Guy shows you
- 58:40Speaker 1: signs that it's what you're supposed to be doing. So tattooing,
- 58:44Speaker 1: just from day one, I knew that it was what
- 58:46Speaker 1: I was supposed to be doing. So there was no
- 58:49Speaker 1: man or no thing that could serve me away from
- 58:53Speaker 1: what my purpose was. We're gonna come back in a minute.
- 58:56Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about your art shows, your tattoo clients,
- 58:59Speaker 1: and your clothes. On money making conversations. Hey, just Ra
- 59:04Speaker 1: Sean McDonald. I'm on the phone or she's on the
- 59:06Speaker 1: phone with all the Los Angeles Katak. She's one of
- 59:11Speaker 1: the start reality stars on the Viage one series of
- 59:14Speaker 1: Chicago Black Ink. And I got on the phone and
- 59:18Speaker 1: really because she's a math she studied math in college
- 59:21Speaker 1: and I have a degree in math, so you know,
- 59:22Speaker 1: there was a mutual kinship and amazing level respect. But
- 59:26Speaker 1: I wanted to go back a little bit about tattoos.
- 59:29Speaker 1: So sometimes people think tattoo just suddenly started. Currently, I'm
- 59:34Speaker 1: a big fan of the Vikings on the History Channel,
- 59:37Speaker 1: one of my favorite TV shows. If you look at
- 59:39Speaker 1: that TV show, everybody got tattooed. Everybody got tattooed on
- 59:43Speaker 1: Viking because tattoosn't just start last week. So it's an
- 59:46Speaker 1: art form that has a lot of history and a
- 59:49Speaker 1: lot of and tattoos also retired to spirit, to faith,
- 59:54Speaker 1: so it's a lot of things that people aren't aware of.
- 59:57Speaker 1: White people get tattoos, and there's always a great story
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: behind every tattoo. Correct tattoo um I would say about
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: about fifty fifty. I think some people get tattoos for
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: the sentimental, you know, or for spiritual reasons. And I
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: think that especially now. I think people are just big
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: fans of the artwork, and a lot of people like
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: to collect the art because they're all bodies. They are
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: they all bodies of art, you know, and that's that's
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: an amazing thing. So so it's interesting you said that
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: about you know, some people get it on faith and
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: some people just get it, you know, just I want tattoo? Okay,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: is there a waiting period? Now we're getting into the
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: tattoo word. Is there a waiting period to get at tatted?
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: If I just came in and say I want to
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: eagle on my chest? Do you say, hey, hey, hey, wait,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: come back tomorrow? What is how is that? How's that
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: process of getting the tattoo? How does that work? Um? Well,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: there are so many amazing tattoo artists out there today,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: and um, if you really really want a big tattoo
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: or you know, anything, then I would recommend doing your
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: research from finding a great artist that you like. And
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: the chances are, you know, if they're great artists, they're
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: going to have a small waiting list or a big
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: waiting list. I know artists that are booked up for years,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: and then I know, um, artists that are you know,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: booked up for a couple of weeks. But the chances are,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: you know that there is going to be a small
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: waiting less. Okay, what is your client list? Because I
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: know people listen, Okay, who is she and tatted? Who
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: has she done? On that athletes side or the celebrity side.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Let's just give us a food rundown to some of
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: the famous people that that that is wearing the tattoo
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: artwork of Cat tat Um. Well I have. Um, I've
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: tattooed a lot of athletes. UM, a lot of football players. Um.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Jamie Collins, he played with the Patriots. Um, Shane Ray.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: He's with Arizona, right, Jamie Collins with Arizona right linebacker corp.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I was sports guys and I'm sorry. Yeah,
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: he's with Arizona. I'm a sports guy, so so you
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: just tatting up people. I'm a sports nut. Yeah, you know,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: when when they when they come in my chair, all
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: that stuff, you know, goes out the window. But I
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: was lucky enough to tattoo him right after they won
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: the Super Bowls. There you got the Super Bowl rain
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: and everything. So but yeah, I tattooed uh Shane Ray.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: We did a huge backpiece on him and that actually
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: got picked up. That was all over espn UM because
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: people with the Denver Broncos and he had just won
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: a Super Bowl with the Broncos. But he's from Kansas City,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: so he got a Kansas City backpiece, and um, there
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: was a Kansas City Chief logo incorporated in that. So
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: like the Twitter fans like, you know, ripped him apart. Uh, yeah,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: exactly exactly. I didn't. I was not expecting that outcome.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I'm just you know, doing the tattoo. But I woke
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: up the next day and literally was on he has. Yeah.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: That's what I love about you at that You're just
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: an artist, you know, you just people come in okay, yeah, okay,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: you look muscular, you play for super Okay, cool, lay
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: down and that's that. That means that this you're you're
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: invested in your craft, which means you're you're an artist.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Tell us about your whole paintings and all these things
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: that are just just as a going down that leads
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: to the clothing line because you're an entrepreneur. That's what
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: this show is about. Entrepreneurs. Yes, absolutely. Um. So with painting,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: painting a little different than tattooings. Taptooing, you're providing a
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: service for someone else. You know, I have to be
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: persive and what I'm painting is when I can just
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: kind of release whatever is in my mind, whatever I'm feeling,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: you know, um, and there's room for you know, there's
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: no pressure like if I you know, there's not that
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: pressure of messing. Uh not that there is a tattoos
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: because I'm professional, but you know, um, it's my expression,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: my creativity, so it's a little bit a friend. UM.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: And I actually started painting, um after I started tattooing.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Like I said, I've always drawn and you know, sketched
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: and things like that, but um, I got into painting
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: more um a few years ago, and I've been having
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: a few r shows just to you know, show the
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: world that we can buy your art. We can buy
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: your art. Yes, absolutely, um I just sold. I had
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: a show here in Los Angeles a couple of months ago.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: I was called Model Type, and um, I sold half
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: the paintings of that collection and then the ones that
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: are left over on my website cat tech girl dot com.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: But um, my paintings are big, They're large spell paintings,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: and um, not everybody can afford and original. So that's
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: where I came out with my clothing line. Because I
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: know my following and my following destin system a lot
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: of young girls and young women who you know may
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: not have a big home yet to purchase that huge canvas.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: So I created a clothing line that they can wear
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: my art, you know what I mean, and and still
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: have a piece of it. So my clothes just has
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: my paintings featured on it. So where can they go,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: cat to get your art, to get the clothing line.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Let's let's go and be business people. Now, where can
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: they go, miss entrepreneur? Yeah, they can go to my
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: website cat tach girl dot com and they can find
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: the paintings. They they there, it's on the navigation bar.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: They're just right there on the homepage. Click it. The
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: same thing with the common line. Yeah, once you go
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: to my homepage and if you throw down, you see
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: a little bit of my blog. But there's a menu
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: bar on the left hand side and they can see
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: paintings and it will take you to that. Okay, now
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Chicago where you blew up? Then you move to Los Angeles.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Chicago to Los Angeles? Why? Um, you know, I want
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: to take this as big as they can possibly go. Okay,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: you're not gonna be a reality star that just goes
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: with the show. You you've seen the big picture now,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: huh exactly, and that that's what it's all about, you know,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Like in Chicago. The show is based off Chicago, and
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: you know, I think that's not to say that's where
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: it ends, but there's just so much more opportunity past
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: the TV show and you know, with my art and
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: with my talent, like I don't want to get um,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: you know, caught up in the fifteenth minute of things,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: you know, like I'm here for to extend that and
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: you know, to really really um make my art have
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: a lasting impression. And in l A, it's just so
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: much opportunity to grow, and I mean the opportunity out
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: here is just really really endless. So I chose to
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: move out here and you know, see where I can
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: really take it. Okay, So it's just just asking transitional.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: You know, you you you you, you know, you know
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: your ground in Chicago. Obviously some people also advised you
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: that that would be a good move and he bumps.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Or in the successes you want to tell us about
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: or just about motivating people, you know, because you keep
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: making these dramatic moves. It a lot of people stop,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: you know, a lot of people. You know, when I
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: went on and gotten that math degree and just went
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: on being a teacher or work for some giant corporation
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: like IBM, like I did, and then with the Chicago,
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: your black ink, your star, You're beautiful. You your tattooing
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: stars or athletes, athletes, they're changing teams. You don't even
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: know about them. All you know they got Super Bowl
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: ringked or you. You you first in line on that,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: so you know how to get publicity. Now you say,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I'm not satisfied, I'm going to l A. How do
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: you do these things? I just want I just want
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: you to tell the listeners don't let them, don't let
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: don't let them stop their success stories. Yeah, I'm really
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: really glad you asked that, um And That's one one
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: of the most positive things that I've gotten from the
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: TV show. And just like we spoke earlier my social
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: media platform, UM too, because people can you know, it's
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: easy for me to tell my story, like, yeah, I,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: you know, became a tattoo artist, I got on a
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: TV show, I moved to l A, and it can
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: seem easy, but I try to be an open book
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: because I have gone through so many different ups and
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: downs with you know, deciding to leave college. I stayed
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: in college and waste so much money and you know,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: loans and for three years before I decided that I
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: was gonna put a dent into text and then then
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: with that, you know, I'm a regular girl. I've dealt
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: with the relationship problems. I've dealt with, you know, moving
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: across the country and losing all your money. You know.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Not every art so that I've had was a huge success,
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: but I've had a plan. I've had end goal. So
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: as long as you stay focused on that end goal,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: you're gonna have ups and downs, but as long as
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: you keep going, it's okay, you know. So, so that's
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: important for me as well to just show like you know,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: it's not always going to be a smooth ride. You
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: will go through things, but you can keep going. Don't
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: let it knock you off your track and just keep
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: things focused and you'll get there. You know, you're amazing.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Let me tell you you're amazing. Okay, keep out the
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: website one more time for we close out the show.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Cat Tat the website it's cat tat girl dot com.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: So it's k T A g I r L. She's

- 1:10:37Speaker 1: money making conversation movement. I'm national. You know what I'm saying. Uh,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: you know social media influence. So I got a fair
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: club almost a half million. You know, come on it,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: the deal trades. I'm just gonna let you know. This
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: is that, um, you know, being a fan, you know,
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: because you know we're in the business and we might
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: not ever see, but you just track people's success. And
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: you've been and being a female, it's even more important
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: that I see what you do in your your African
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: American female. I see what you do in your different
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: layers and the versatility, and and this shows about asking
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: people to step out of their comfort zone. That's what
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: this shows about. As an entrepreneur, as a people who
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: sit around, they put so much on faith then and
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: then when faith, when faith fails them because they put
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: out and they put out in their effort, then they
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: just give up. So I want to bring up just
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: a short transition that you did TV, not just regular TV.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: You know you had never done that in your life. Wait,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: what are we talking about? The on camera side of TV?
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: The on camera side of TV? Rishawn? You know, Okay,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: So talk about stepping outside of your comfort zone. Okay,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: let me just tell you. Okay, for you know, I
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: started producing, and so the whole time I was producing,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: like people would kind of offer for me little things.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: They'd be like, you know, okay, what if you played
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: you know, so and So's wife. You know, we need
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: somebody play so and so's wife. You know, we need
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: an actress, we need somebody to play so and So's
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: girlfriend love and just what. And I would always be like,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: oh no, I'm not that chick. I'm behind the scenes.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: I'm behind the scenes. I'm behind the scenes. And so um,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: and that's always again that was my comfort zone, like
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: where I felt comfortable and stuff. And so finally, you know,
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: you know, I think this is just you know, this
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: is just God who had another plan for me, you know,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: another aspect of my career. Um. You know, of course
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: I meet Dion Sanders, and so I become his producer
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: of his reality TV shows. And so then we start
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: you know, dating and seeing each other step And this
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: happened before we sold the show. And so by the
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: time we went out to sell the show, you know,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: everybody in the industry kind of knew that we were
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: a couple, and so I'm pitching this show as the
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: producer that's going to cover Dion's life as a single
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: parent dad, and then you know, trying to just hope
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: everybody in the room doesn't understand that I'm part of
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: the equation. And so they're like, well, okay, well what
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: about you being on camera? And I'm like, oh no,
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: I don't do that. I'm just producing. And they're like, well,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Tracy and Dion, if we're going to cover Dion's life,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: we're not covering it without including you, you know, on camera.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: So really, you know, I kind of got stuck into
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: like jumping in and being on camera and stuff, and
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: so I kind of said, well, if I do this,
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: it's only going to be like a little cameo you know,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: every now and then and stuff. And so but when
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: you know it like, we really shot dion show authentically,
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: you know, we did not scripted. We were shooting it
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: in real time as things were going down. And as
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: part of that, you know, I was really you know,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: part of everything you know going on in his life
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: and stuff, and so in order to be authentic, I
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: had to go on camera. And so, um so that
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: was my first venture into being on camera. Was doing
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Dion Show for three seasons and then um, wouldn't you
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: know I go on to Extra a daily show daily. Yes, yes,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: we're sure, I'll go on to promote UM Dion's Family Playbook,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: you know, and Mario Lopez is interviewing me about Dion's
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Family Playbook, and so I'm being interviewed as his guest,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: you know, on Extra and stuff. And so I'm talking
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: about the show and stuff. And then you know, right
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: as I finished the interview, they're like, um, our executive
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: producer wants to talk to you, and I'm like about
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: what They're like, just just you know, just talk to her.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: So then that was Lisa grigori Ish, who's the executive producer.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: First Lisa g Okay, yes, you know her as Lisa
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: G is the best, the best, She's she's she's so animated.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: You know, she's doing a kickboxing move right in front
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: of you. Go, okay, she had a dress on all right,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: now she just do a kickboxing move on you because
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: she's just so patching it. So you you were going
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: to lose that conversation going in. I sure was, because
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: um I went I went to meet with her and
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: again going, look, you know, I don't do this. I
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: think you've got me confused. I don't have any experience
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: hosting or whatever. And so she's like, Tracy, I know
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: your career. Just be yourself. So I literally rashawn I
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: turned the job down a couple of times. And then
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I was talking to Dion and was like you that
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: you actually was talking to the wrong person, because that's
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Captain Fearless and you know I'm just doing just do
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: a little side note about Dion, Dion Sanders, you know
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: prime time, that's what we're talking about. And because to me,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: he invented branding as far as I always tell him that,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: because as a high school student he understood how to
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: market himself. And so you were standing next to a
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: brilliant marketeer. So you you're trapped now you Diana, stand
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: just on this side. Mr. I don't turned out nothing.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: I believe in myself. You can do whatever Guard allows
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: you to do. Just believe in yourself. And Lisa G.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: So you had to take the gig, yes, sir, okay.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: So Dion flies out, He's like, well, I'm I'm going
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: to meet with Lisa G on your behalf. I was
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: like no, and so he flies out and he and
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: I together we go to Lisa G's office and the Dion,
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: you know, he did the alpha male thing, and he
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: enters her office and he's like, you know, I'm Dion, Lisa.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: You know, you and I are gonna talk. Casey's hang
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: out on the lobby for a little bit. So he
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: as my manager. That was a dream come true Ford,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: to be a manager, a manager or a true talent,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So, so you made his
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: career right there. He handled he handled business rashan and
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: so you know, so you know, make a long story short,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: you know, I end up taking it and I was
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: the co host of the extra for three years and
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: I've been in mid June, and it was fun. It
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: was good, and it was it was great because you know,
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: you know, because I brought Steve Harvard many times up
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: there and to do the show in Los Angeles, Universal
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: and um who was always impressed with your professionalism, but
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: also the fact that you knew both sides of the camera.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: So whenever you talk during an interview, you you could
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: just see wheels turning because you could any talent, any
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: direct or anybody did you talk to you understood truly
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: their story. Oh you know what, and I appreciate that.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: It's i mean, having been in the business for such
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: a long time, you know, and I used to manage also,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: so I managed actors and actresses and stuff. So I
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: definitely understood their play and their journey and their psyche.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: And so that's why, you know, it's really cool, you know,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: to be able to interview, especially people that I had
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: actually worked with before, and so I really really love
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: that and um and then also to it really trained
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: me on, you know, how to be in front of
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: the camera. So like having to do that for three
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: years and and do it under pressure too. It's like,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: you know, especially when I was doing the you know,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: the award shows and yeah, I mean my my first assignment,
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Rashaan was covering me INNY and I had no experience,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: and so Lisa g as soon as that contract, she
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: was like, okay, girl, go and cover the INNY and
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: I would like what I was like, I don't know
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: what I'm doing. And so she's like, again, just be yourself,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: just ask whatever questions you want to ask, and you know,
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: and so I did that. So they kind of threw me,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: threw me out there. Now let's talk about why I
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: really brought you on the show. It's all right now,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: you leaning on this big old blue ball, okay, healthy,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: well at that little parallel angle. You know, you can't
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: even use that picture to promote it because you you
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: at an angle. You know, go to your website. So
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: you know, I really really wanted to talk about that
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: because what I hear your voice, I hear you see
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: your career. I know you've been told no, and I
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: know people have made suggestion to you and you resisted it.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: You resisted and people saw more in you than you saw.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: I thought you could do and accomplished. So that's what
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: this shows about. It's about being able to reach into
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: people and understand their true values and expectations are sometimes
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: they don't even see them, and other people see more
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: than you. So you have this site, this health and
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: wellness site that's a faith site. Is the stories and
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: talks about motivation, how to eat, and all that good
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: stuff called all right now, tell us what led you
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: to create this? You know, Rashan part of my life
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: that I've never shared with anybody is my health and
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: wellness journey and so um you know, which really started Rashan.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: And by the way, I'm fifty now, and so I
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: mean like time has flown. You just made a lot
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: of people mad, right, you know, just made me mad
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: just laying on that little out that ball burst. Now, okay,
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: I hope that blue ball burst missed fifty. Okay, look
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: like thirty five. Okay, I love you, two kids, two kids, Okay,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: really just stopped talking to me. Gonna get a text
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: from me. It's gonna be some chart words and that
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: text for me about you today. You missed fifty alright,
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: Well okay, So so here I am fifty years old
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: and I started, I started this journey, was shot when
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: I was twenty five. And so my dad, you know,
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: bless his heart and rest in peace, who just passed
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: away in September when I was twenty five years old.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: He had quadruple by a past heart surgery and so
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: four clogged arteries. And you know, I'm twenty five years
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: old and I don't know anything at that point about
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: health and wellness, and so I'm like, well, how did
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: that happen? I'm like, how do you get clogged arteries?
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: And so then you know, the doctor's that explaining to
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: me high cholesterol, bad diet, you know, and all that
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: kind of stuff. And that's when I really really started
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: reading up on you know, diet and nutrition. And so
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: that day I really made a vow and I, you know,
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I really talked to God and I said, you know what,
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: because my dad this is a life threatening surgery. And
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: so I said, you know, God, if you if you
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: get my dad to this, and I know you will,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: you know, I'm gonna really be healthy. You know, I'm
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: going to really make sure I'm healthy. And so I
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: just dumped, you know, all the fast foods, the processed foods.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: I stopped eating poorly and started reading up on on
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: diet and nutrition and exercise and wellness. And that was
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: really like my first day one of my journey and stuff.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: And so I, you know, from that day on, you know,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: no fast foods. I only eat you know, organic foods
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: because you know the other foods they're sprayed with pesticides
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: and stuff, which is really bad for your body and stuff.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: And so and I, you know, I supplement and you know,
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I have my my go to that I do every morning,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Like lemon water is so amazing for your body. It
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: builds your immune system, It cleans out all the toxins.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: It gives you clear skin, it gives you clear thought
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: and energy. So I do that every morning and throughout
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: the day. I have you know, supplements that I take
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: and smoothies, and I do yoga and fitness and that
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: is really so I'm taking everything that I've learned over
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: the years and I'm incorporating that into this website all
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: right now and I'm sharing it with everybody. Well that
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: thought right there, Tracy. We're gonna be right back and
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: going more detail about that. And also I want to
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: ask you something because you're a mentor to a lot
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: of people and especially young women and in this era
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: hashtag me two times up. You know, your blessings are
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: just changing the world. Right now. We're so hanging there.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: We'll be right back. I'm back just with Sean McDonald,
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: host the Money Making Conversations on the Line. She's a
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: mother to television film producer, health wellness advocate, and the
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: former host of Extra Extra. Tracy Edmonds, Tracy, um, as
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: you know, I've been looking at your pictures deal man
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: man man mother to steal mad now. But I wanted
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: to bring up some tips that I wanted to talk
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: about you as an entrepreneur, you know, because what tips
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: do you have for young female entrepreneurs, because, like you're
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: talking about, you've been in the business a long time
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: and a lot of bumps. What are some of the tips. Well,
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: I mean tip number one is really believe in yourself.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: You know, you know, really you know, know your worth,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: know your value, know that you can do it, and
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: you know you just have to stay focused. I've had
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: so many people along the way in my career that
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: have said no, no, no, no, And especially being in
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: the entertainment industry, you hear you hear the word no,
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: and you face rejection. So I mean, like every of
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: your life, you know, it's almost like a miracle when
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: somebody says, yes, we'll buy it. Yes, So but um,
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: I've always said no just means find another way. And
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: so you know, when someone tells me no, I'm like, okay,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: all right, well let me regroup, let me kind of
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: tweak something, and let me go back out there again
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: and try it again. And sure enough, that's been successful
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: for me. I've had projects that have taken me five years,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: you know, to to see you know, the big screen,
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: or to get to television because so many people have
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: told me no. But then finally, you know, I figured
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: out the right formula and I get it done. And
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: so I think that's that's probably one of the most
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: important things. Okay, that's that's we got the entrepreneur, female entrepreneur,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: now the single mom the domains. How were you able
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: to balance that because you know, we're talking about nutrition,
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: we're talking about standards, shape, We're talking about all these things.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: And also in the era that we live in, you know,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: because as a parent, being a parent myself, you know,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: you're so paranoid. Oh yeah, you just turn on TV
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: and you've got social media. Can't control your kids. I
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: tell a only you're watching YouTube. That's a single mom.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: What advice do you give to people trying to young
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: women or women who in their thirties or forties, And
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: I tell everybody there's no age limits to start your
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: dream just started, right, Yeah. I mean I encourage every
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: woman out there that wants to have children and that
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: thinks that they can't have a career and have children
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: to yes, you can. You know, you can do it.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: You can do both. You can have that dream of
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: having it all. You know, you can have a balanced life.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: You know, it may not be perfect, and you may
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: have a little bumps along the road, and you may
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: feel guilty sometimes because you're running late for your kids
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: soccer game or or something. You know, um, but it
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: is so worth it and I mean, my joy, you know,
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: every day working was knowing that I was coming home
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: to see my kids at the end of the day.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: I know the feeling I felt. You know, I have
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: a daughter and she's a freshman in college, major in
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: the mechanical engineering and I'm so proud of her just
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: watching her grow. And my job was to get her
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: there and my job. Kudos to you, because it's hard.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: It's hard. It's hard. So so when I when I
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: look at all these things you've done all right, now
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: there's a business model tied to health and wellness. How
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: do you get in this business of trying to say,
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna start this portal and how do you aggregate
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: all the information you're trying to do into this site
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: so an everyday person can understand it? Well? You know what, Rashaan,
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: You know, I almost have to give it to God
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: because it's like it's like everything that I put into
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: this site, you know, just kind of flowed out of me,
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: and so I had a vision to do this site
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: about a year ago, and so well a little over
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: a year ago is before my mom passed away, and
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: I just had I was on a mission where I
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: just said, you know what, it is really time in
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: my life to pay it forward, to give back, to
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: share what I've learned along the way with other people,
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: because I have so many people that are always emailing
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: me and tweeting me and saying, hey, do you ever
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: mentor people? You know, can you mentor me? And I
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: wish I had enough hours in the day to to
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: mentor you know, all the people that reach out to me.
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: And so I'm like, well, how can I reach the
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: masses and share with the masses, Which is why I
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: decided to create you know, all right now website. Now,
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: um you know, those that have been following me know
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: that within the last year, I lost my mother and
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: my father, you know, in the same year my mom
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: died of mesothelioma cancer, and then my father passed away
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: you know, a few months ago in September of finally
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: a heart attack, and so, um, so this just made
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: me even more passionate, what you know, to get this
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: site done. To share knowledge with people about lifestyle changes
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: that they can make to you know, prevent health problems
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: and to prevent diseases and so um. And then also
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: to you know, our site, we have um. You know,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: we have a section call Succeed, which is career advice motivational.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Yet we have Relates, which is relationship advice, you know,
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: on love and parenting. You know, we have the fitness,
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: we have the health and wellness. And then really finding
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: a balanced life is also like escaping sometimes and traveling
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: and stuff, and so we're talking about that too. So
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: it's really designed to help people find balance in their life,
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: to like live their best lives and to be the
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: best youth. When I when I went to the site,
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: you know, because of the fact that you know, are
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: you guys doing any live events through your site or
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: uh what are something to takeaways that you can tell
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: my listeners and also the viewers of Facebook. Well you
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: know what we you know, our goal is to really grow,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: like we're we're starting in the infancy stations. Like yeah,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: like I literally like I was determined. I said, I'm
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: launching the site January first, because that's you know, the
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: new year, and so Rashan. I was working around the
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: clock because I asked you. You know, Rashan, I'm the
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: marketing and Brandon guru. So if you don't mind, let's
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: set up a conference call you know me for a charge.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: I just I just, you know, I see something. I God,
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: that's the gift. I've been doing this since I was eighteen.
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: I realized that, you know that that God gave me
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: a gift to be able to, you know, just reshape
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: things and redirect and motivate. And when I look at
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: the site, I go and because there's so many people,
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: this is the direction there's so many people are going
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: in their lives nowadays, you know, you know, the the
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: health that they watch, what they eat, their motivating to win.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: And when I see you. When I saw this site,
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: I immediately told my program director Day I said, we
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: gotta get on the show. I want on the premier
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: show because I know your life. I know your life
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: has been always about you know, people telling you you
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: look a certain way, you're supposed to do a certain things.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: Like you said, you're trying to be a producer. People
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: trying to get you the what I'm saying as a misdirection,
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: you was what I want to do. But did they
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: get to upon your life where you had you had
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: created the resume that you were comfortable. You were comfortable
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: with making that transition because you don't have to prove anything,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: and I always you have to prove it that they
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: I always tell people your goal in life is for
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: your resume and the things that you hype to intersect
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: and when you walk in the room, you can be yourself.
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: And when I look at you, Tracy, and we joked about, uh,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: you're being fifty and looking fantabulous, you know, and all
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: the successes. But that's what you're the point in life
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: where you're sharing. You're sharing your values and your success.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: Because you easily talked about being a parent, You easily
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: talked about being an entrepreneur. You talked about the setbacks
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: and people telling you know, and you just going, no,
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: that's not gonna stop me. That's not gonna stop me.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: And now you got this site because that's why I
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: started money making conversations because everybody want me to mentor
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: that everybody, Oh yeah, And it's like, I mean, having
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: a site like this is really the best way for
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: me to share information because it really is coming from
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: a personal and testimonial space. I wrote sixty articles, you
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: know for the site and stuff and so like, like
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: I said, I was we we were launching January first,
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: Rashaan and so, and I was like, we're not missing
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: our deadline. Am She's gonna do it, you know, crazy four.
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. But I did down the
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: road Rashaan, just kind of what you're saying. I want
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: to do, you know, conferences and retreats and things like
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: that and really kind of grow this into a positivity movement.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: And and I feel that wild happened through the relationships
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: like me because I want to get involved. I want
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: to I want to get our hand on the phone.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: Charlie Jordan Brookins, she has to think of faith fit
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: through Faith that she's started. And a girl Nikki Curly NICKI.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: You know, she has over a half million Twitter followers.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: You know, she's doing these emotional wellness type of yoga
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: classes in the DC area. All these people, we gotta
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: bring them together to your poem. You know what I'm saying,
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: Because that's what I'm saying. You're You're an aggregate of
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: so many people who are trying to who you. I
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: want you to become the voice of this movement, because
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: that's what it is. And that power stroke that you
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: have done, that's why you were smart to you know something.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: I'm launching, Okay, I gotta date. I'm not gonna lunch
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: black History Mark. I'm not launching in Easter. I'm I'll
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: launching in the first quarter. And this is my date
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: because that because I can now talk to people about
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: your brand, and I know they want to hear it, Tracy.
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: They want to hear it. They want to see you,
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: they want to You're a poster for success from a
